Broken doll
I think I’m broken.
Like a doll filled with lumps.
So I try to cut myself open and sew my wounds shut.
I try to find the lumps and cut them out before they spread.
Instead, the cuts spread and so does the pain.
The lines I carve grow and get harder to explain.
The lumps stay no matter how deep I cut.
And the pain only spreads farther until it’s unbearable to even touch.
How do I explain that I’m broken and cannot be fixed?
Maybe I’m not broken, just defective.
And meant to be thrown away.
Meant to be tossed out and replaced.
