Lily Evans
Loving someone the same gender as you? Why that's wrong. Is what they said. When you hear the name "Lily Evans" they would've told you that she was the brightest witch of her age, and the kindest too. Who wouldn't fall for her? And that's the problem. Many would fall for her. Both men and women.

Eurydice Crouch ✤ If I Die Young ✤ What Died Didn’t Stay Dead
The sharp knife of a short life
As the only daughter of House Crouch, Eurydice entered Hogwarts knowing that her only job was to secure herself a proper, respectable, political marriage.  It was all that she had been trained for, and she had already prepared a list of suitable suitors to acquaint herself with.  However that list didn’t account for her being sorted into Slytherin – she was supposed to be a Ravenclaw, thank you – and surrounded by families too dark to bolster her father’s political career.  It also didn’t account for a fledging friendship with either James Potter or Lily Evans, let alone for her growing feelings towards not one, but both of them.  And it most certainly didn’t account for Lord Voldemort’s growing obsession with her.
Well, I’ve had just enough time

Protego Pt 14 - Dreams

...
Nymphadora Tonks, it was a good thing that they had gotten the place when they did as a baby arrived out of the cosmos. Good news for the exiled older brother who had a proposal on his own mind after the elopement ceremony one day when they were a bit older and he had more to offer as a prospective husband, one more tiny relative to be at their own ceremony years off.
This year would be a rather tame interval year, between the impossible exams, but for Jewels and Lily it would be a year to try and up efforts to rebuild the bond with Petunia that got scuffed in their acceptance into Hogwarts without her. Good progress was being made of translation on notes found on the books, scrapbooks and notes photographed found to be in Parseltongue Jewels translated with ease with use of a charm that would read the chicken scratch language aloud. Mostly useless so far, but progress on tips they would hand over to others who were aimed at fighting Riddle to the bitter end.
Snape being the one to later on decide to be the main channel of that information, but for now he was still puzzled at why his friend had asked permission to date Sirius. Lily hadn’t asked what he thought prior to plans to date a seventh year named Nigel. A boy who would test the truth to the pact the entire school set the year prior to keep James from doing anything harmful to another student.
But now since day one, seeing that after supper Sirius simply walked straight down to the Slytherin dorm with his other relatives, James was trying to act like a changed person. Pretending he didn’t want to hex other students, but the proof was right there, in his eyes. That same glare and deep coldness that seeped from those dark eyes.
.
“Lily did you want to go? I’m getting a special pass for a night out I can take two guests.”
“You told me about it in your letter, you know I don’t like mystery movies.” Lily replied flatly as she poured over a notebook to work out the right technique for a gift for her favorite professor who had connections in the Ministry and could help her get into the Auror Program if she missed the mark a bit.
“But, it’s my first-,” Jewels squeaked in a deflated tone to the turn of her sister away to show her notebook to her boyfriend to get his tips on the spell. Right off the chair in the study hall she turned to rise up on her feet to make her way to someone else. “Mermaid day,” she whispered to herself at the reminder left in her planner on why Sirius had his first free period booked today.
.
“Tuesday, five o’clock.” Jewels said with a smile luring one across her dripping wet boyfriend’s face as he toweled off on the edge of Black Lake, visibly nibbled on after trying yet again to find the proper guilty pleasure snack a Kelpie would want after that peanut butter fiasco years prior.
“What is happening Tuesday?” Sirius asked and she poked him in the belly.
“My premier, Fuzzy face.” Smiling wider in a sway on her feet out of glee.
“That is fantastic,” his eyes sweeping over her face after his quick peck he left on her cheek to not get her absolutely soaked in a hug.
“Did you want to go? I get a special pass and Flitwick has to go, but I can have two guests.”
“And we’re going with Lily then? So I can color coordinate?” the sudden drop of her excitement had him, Remus and Regulus move closer, Sirius being the one to put his hands on her arms in support. “Please tell me she didn’t pick a fight, not at your news.”
“She doesn’t like mysteries.” Jewels replied weakly.
“What about Petunia?” Remus asked and she looked at him. “She like mysteries? You said you got her that historical thriller set last year for her birthday. She is your sister they don’t have a Muggle ban for celebratory events.”
That had her face light up again and she asked, “How would I even ask her?”
“Floo network,” they said together. The boys scrambled into their clothes that would be spotted with water stains so they could guide the again giggling girl to sneak through the tunnel underneath the Whomping Willow and hurry to Hog’s Head Inn, where they knew the keep would help them.
“Alberforth, Mr Alberforth!” they boys panted and had the brother to their Headmaster look them and the notable girl between them over. “Can we borrow your fireplace?”
“I am inclined to normally refuse, however you have piqued my interest, why do you need my fireplace?”
“I’m an actress,” she spoke up and his eyes focused on her, “I got a special pass on Tuesday and my sister here doesn’t want to go, so they said your fireplace could help me invite my other sister, who is studying at a Muggle University.”
“Ah, take it you haven’t used a fireplace to communicate before then?”
“No,” she said plainly and he nodded his head to the side, and took her back to the fireplace in his own private study to get a proper fire going.
“Now you put your face in the flames.” She blinked up at him and he chuckled, “No heat or burns, give you my word.” Kneeling on a cushion on the edge of the flames she settled and tentatively did as he said, stating the address and then poked her head into the flames.
A face, sudden out of the corner of her eye Petunia inside the library, parked in a seat beside the fireplace she always chose, looked up at thinking she saw a face. Not any face but her youngest sister’s, and sure enough in a fire that wasn’t there before flickering in an otherworldly red color she saw Jewels smiling up at her. In a whisper the flame began to speak, “Petunia, now you haven’t gone mad, I didn’t have time for a letter. But I wanted to say my first film is premiering on Tuesday at five, did you want to come? I can have two guests. It’s a mystery.”
“If, if you would want me there,” she said and let out a breath, “I could use a night out. Terrible exam Monday,” and Jewels smiled wider. “What are you and Lily wearing? I would hate to stick out and spoil the party.”
“Oh, Lily said she doesn’t want to go see a mystery, doesn’t like them.”
“But it’s your film,” Petunia said in a lower tone matching her sister’s.
“She’s working on an extra project to impress her favorite professor, some back up plan to win her points towards his next connection in the job field she wants.
“The police work,” Petunia said and Jewels nodded.
“Sirius said he would come, you could meet. Told him all about you.”
“Alright,” she said with a creeping grin of her own, “I suppose over winter you both could have a dinner with me and Vernon. What sort of clothing does one wear to a Witch film premier?”
“Well I’m wearing the purple dress Mummy bought me last year. Gladrags in Hogsmeade doesn’t exactly have a formal section or anything.” She accented with a chuckle Petunia shared with her.
“I would suppose not. I will wear my silver one then Mummy bought me for the same party.”
Tumblr media
Contradictory, a low dipping purple thick strapped dress that hugged at the top to flair out in the knee length skirt in a layered deep violet color like a flower, would mix with the strapless floor length dress. Black and deep silver that would bleed out lighter in shades of silver over the layered panel skirt to mimic a flower of a different breed. Heels to match would be paired with small accenting hair pieces Jewels would design and magic up for them to match the look and make for a special night for the sisters and Sirius, who was glad to be going in support. Wearing his black to green ombre velvet dress suit embroidered in a color changing flowery pattern with a rose in his lapel to match the flower theme.
The night went absolutely lovely, and while nervous Petunia was warmly welcomed as the fellow dark haired sister they surprisingly to her heard so much about over the years. Never a minute aside from a few blips of confusion over terms used where she felt absolutely at odds with these people. On top of which she got to put faces to names in meeting Minerva and Flitwick who had been named in ample letters before.
The big shiny bow to the evening were the slew of photographs taken, many of which Jewels would copy and send to her sister when they published, same as the ones she would try to give to Lily but find later abandoned when jealousy struck in having missed the event.
Praise and compliments on the successful film had offers to have her and Bernadette film a couple more this summer. Along with news of a play they would head this winter break they’d been sent scripts of early. Word was picking up of a talented set of starlets on the rise to lead their generation. And more than Jewels had hoped for already her hard work showed proof of paying off some and room to expand on that growth in decades to come.
Already she could see herself in her gold and silver years with a long career behind her, Sirius still supportive as ever, having been at her side in every step of the way. She could see it now, and even in a few months together with just kisses and cuddles to have shared in times stolen alone without noticing it she had felt a new ache to dream of a question she hoped he might ask her to name their future together. Their future and so many possibilities of what could come of it.
 .
“You should give him a gift too,” Lily said in a week of trying to make up and make herself feel better for avoiding the premier. “He let us both into the Slug Club. Asks us for dinners, just in case you change your mind on the stage one day.” The thought stung, that her sister assumed she might ever just give up when Lily hadn’t lifted a finger to so much as look into any of her plays or films. All the same she made a pocket watch that would sing a song only he can hear with a topaz bird on the front of it to pair oddly with Lily’s choice of a lily petal that turned into a fish Slughorn would name Francis. Gifts from two of his most talented Slug Club students he found most intriguing on their own and together.
Winter break didn’t show signs of the stage being accepted more than it had been same as come summer time the roles had been the new focus, enabling a certain empathy free ungovernable teen to come and pick up the deflated mood of the fiery haired sister who again felt left behind.
Already James had wanted to help in what the rest of his former group of inseparable friends had going on, something aided by a talk to Albus who had extended a place within a secret Order now able to make use of tips the group felt James capable of passing on without getting too much in their own plans. Eventually pulling Lily and her hopes of spare efforts towards her Auror dreams into the fold and danger. Much to the regret of her sister who aimed to keep her safe from this war somehow.
Summer didn’t do any better for either of the duo. Now Lily had dumped her boyfriend in the last week of it to spontaneously be deeply entrenched in a relationship with the somehow ‘matured’ James. The boy who always got what he wanted one way or another now had Lily Evans on his arm so enamored by him and all he swore to do to end this terrible war she was threatened by. He aimed so high that he could use the sun to block view of nothing to hide there was no way he could pull it off alone as he claimed, and Lily, blinded by her own lack of insight into how things worked felt her own dream in helping him was achievable that much easier.
 .
Head Boy, Remus sat staring at his badge that would match the female counterpart of Head Girl Pandora, who had become very close to the blonde dorm mate of Regulus, Barty, Severus and Sirius down in Slytherin who kept muttering about Nargles and other unknown creatures. A title that came with a much needed special apartment Remus would share with her and enable him to get out of the Gryffindor dorm and study hard on his own NEWT aspirations. And to be honest, the night he knew Lily would creep in to murder James he did not want to be witness to it, knowing fully the veil would drop and his game would eventually end. He did not want to be there when James lost his nerve and began hexing people again for no reason or little reason at all.
 *
Two days at a Muggle spa a weekend trip away to bond with Jewels was recalled by Petunia as she sat with her boyfriend Vernon in talks of finances over a future place to live. Already he was bonding with her parents and now her youngest sister, proving he’d be tolerant at least of the actress and odd boyfriend of hers, just leaving Lily as the wild card in the bunch with her new guy.
Petunia’s two year degree was up soon and his as well, with a good job lined up in the works. So now was the time to plan for the next step in her life while trying not to focus on worries she had started to pick up on for her younger sisters making their new lives without their parents to guide them like they did her. That was the drawback of being the only non-Witch child, Mr and Mrs Evans knew her world and how to help her, but not the two special girls who had been sent off to a new one.
She was planning, and to be honest if her children turned out to be Witches too she couldn’t be certain if she would be able to send them away. Sure now they would have aunts who had connections in that world, but she couldn’t imagine not being able to help her children grow and thrive all on her own. And still since that letter from when she was a child and was refused permission to attend Hogwarts she doubted she could learn about enough to be useful. She didn’t want to lose her sisters again by having non-magical children and not encouraging them to want to explore the world she didn’t feel welcomed in.
 *
Glittering skin, more than usual and random flashes of nausea and light headedness for a few weeks now had Jewels a bit concerned for if she’d picked up a bug like some of the cast had in her second film that was shot near to a desert in Egypt. But she’d never thought she’d just collapse in the middle of her Magical Creatures class and have to be carried to the Hospital Wing.
“Keep flat, dear,” Madame Pomfrey said, hand on her shoulder as she stirred. “I heard you had a fright in Kettleburn’s class.”
Jewels shook her head, “No, it was that smell, burnt corn, I think I picked up a bug in the desert.” On the side of the bed she settled and listened intently to all the given symptoms, even noting them down on a sheet and asking more questions.
“To narrow things down, I would like to test one thing, and this stays between us, is there any chance, any physical chance you might be pregnant?” Jewels’ pulse quickened, “There are a good deal of medicines that in cases of pregnancy could be harmful, not just to a child, but to you.”
“Once,” she whispered, “We did, just the once. In Egypt when filming wrapped, he planned a nice dinner inside one of the pyramids.”
Madame Pomfrey moved her hand to lay it over the girl’s, “We’ll test for that first, and after dig from there if it is negative.”
Blue, the crystal band snapped around Jewels’ wrist changed colors and was the first step of confirmation. To be followed by a series of crystal pads laid across her bared belly to project a colorful blob with a heartbeat a small enchanted crystal recorded the sound she could play back whenever she cared to same as a projection of the image. Now she just had to tell people, Sirius, her sister, friends, professors, sure enough the whole school would know.
.
“There she is,” Regulus said smiling at the slightly pale teen who came up to them inside an empty hall they often plotted in.
Remus asked at her complexion, “Sneak out or did you get let out? Look a bit pale.”
“By the tree,” she said pushing a hand weakly into Sirius’ side jolting his brows up.
“Okay,” he murmured moving to go along.
“We don’t get to know?” Alastor chuckled teasingly.
“I have to, tree first.” She murmured and led the one away from the chuckling group who kept watch of the entire numb footed stroll to the unimportant pine tree where Sirius turned to face her. “You took me to the pyramids,” she said and a wide enamored smile at the memory eased across his face.
“I remember, I’ll never forget.” And in a moment something dawned across his expression, “Did that, you fainted,” sharply he drew in a breath and asked in a mix of fear and excitement, “Are we having a baby?”
“I know we, tried not to.”
The drop of her eyes to the ground halted in his lean in to tilt her chin up and have her look at him through the glide of his hand across her cheek, “This is all I could have dreamed of.” His head cocked to the side a moment, “Granted I wanted to be making 40k a year and have you well off in your own career first, couple dogs or cats perhaps, but we can do this. I can talk to your parents, we can talk to mine.”
“Why?” she asked in an uncertain squeak. “You could do anything.”
“So can you,” he said lovingly, “And I’d love to share every bend and break along the road if you’d keep me by your side. We can plan it all out, graduate, settle a place to stay and make our own for our baby. Will you keep me?”
“I will.” She said and he moved in to engulf her in an excited hug.
“We’ll plan it all out,” he said as he drew back to see her sniffle and reach up to wipe her cheek. “You don’t have to be afraid we’ll plan everything, we have time.”
“I just realized,” she squeaked, “I still don’t know my birth mother’s name, and now,” he shook his head.
“We’ll dig again. Harder. Our baby is going to know who their grandmother is. I will make certain of it.” He said and she nodded making him grin again and ask, “Can we go tell my brother or did you want to finish planning first before we share?”
“We can tell him,” wider his smile spread and he took a step back.
“Ooh,” he said and dug his enchanted pouch out of his pocket that held his belongings to find while the group learned about the startling but exciting news accentuated by the presentation of a ring box to Jewels that had her jaw drop. “I didn’t know what you liked so if you don’t like it consider it a stand in for the one we can get on the big day.”
A bit giggle worthy in size the firefly ring reached from one knuckle to the next. The face of gold to meet the upper part of the body made of five lines of small square emeralds between golden stripes shaped like a pentagon. That topped a shield shaped moonstone lower half of the body secured by simple golden prongs while tanzanite strips made out the four golden bordered wings of the firefly he said would glow in moon and starlight. Large and art deco in style the ring had her crash into his chest for the unique ring she loved that would be proof of the foundation of plans to come.

CAUSE YOU WEREN’T MINE TO LOSE
pairings. james potter x fem!reader.
summary. every year james went away to hogwarts while you went to a different wizard school, but every summer it was you two. until he brought home a girl.
Tumblr media
summer was finally here, you were back home and the air was crisp, the warmth was just right. one thing was different but you didn’t know it yet. your mother yelled for you to remember dinner with the potter’s, which of course you already knew.
getting in the shower washing off the smell of your school and getting ready quickly since you arrived home later than usually. your mom yelled for you from downstairs, you groaned as you looked for clothes in your closet since, most were still in your bags.
once you did, you quickly changed and made your way downstairs.
“took you long.” your father said in a joking tone, you smiled at him following your mom out the door and across the street. since the two of your families knew each other since before you were born, your mother walked into the house without knocking. she held a bouquet of flowers as she yelled for euphemia making her yell back where she was in the living room. there was more commotion then usual making you confused.
the three of you made your way into the room where many people were sitted, you noticed sirius, remus, and peter sitting on the floor. then you noticed james sitting beside a red head, very close causing a pit in your stomach to form. more girls sitting around the floor.
usually, when sirius saw you he would hug you but he didn’t which made you even more nervous.
“i’ve met these boy’s but whose this lovely girl?” your mom questions looking at the girl, at her words you look towards james who was now avoiding looking into your eyes, usually when you walked into the door he jumped right up and hugged you.
your eyes snapped away when the redhead began to speak, “i’m lily, lovely to meet you!” she looked at all of you, you tried your best to smile but it wasn’t true. sirius was staring at you, the two of you became very close so you told him about you and james, he now regrets not sending you a letter at the true heartbreak on your face. he knew he should’ve but he was so torn between the two of you.
euphemia always went all out with the get togethers, but today was different. all of james’ friends were here, even lily’s since this year they had become a full group now that the two groups had come together because lily and james were dating.
she called everyone to follow her into the backyard where a long table was sitting in the grass, decorations all over the table. you follow your parents, usually sitting by james and the others but it was different. you watched as all of his friends fell into a group sitting by each other, even sitting far away from one another they were still having conversations.
this was the first time you felt out of place at the potters.
lunch went by slow for you, it felt like hours had passed but only one had. finally, everyone dispersed, your mother and father kissed your head as they followed the other parents, you quickly walked away towards the field in their backyard full of flowers where you and james had spent times together.
your throat had suddenly felt tight and an all too well feeling in your eyes, luckily everyone was too focused on whatever to come to you so letting the tears fall you took a deep breath with your eyes closed, head tilting back just a little to feel the summer breeze hit your rosy cheeks.
too focused on your thoughts, you didn’t hear the footsteps approaching. you quietly gasped seeing someone from the corner of your eye, scared that it was james but relieved to see sirius. he sadly smiled at you.
“when?” you simply questioned, he knew. “beginning of this year, she started to like him after years of him chasing after her.” he explained, your eyebrows furrowed as he spoke.
you let out a scoff with a little laugh, “chasing after her?” sirius winced, he was so beyond fucked, james never spoke about lily when he was on break because he was so focused on you.
feeling the sun peak through your curtains you opened your eyes fully opened, you smiled seeing james sleeping, he was snoring softly. he was beyond beautiful at any time of the day. you brought a hand to his face softly brushing the curls off of his face. he hummed in content at the feeling of your hands.
“morning,” he groggily spoke, you absolutely melted at his morning voice. “morning.” you replied. the sheets were tangled in between you as he tightened his hands around your waist bringing you closer to him, in-fact bringing you to lay on top of him. you lightly laughed as he kissed your neck.
“all these years he came home on break, sneaking out of his own house to come into my room. he went back to school and chased her?” gods, you wanted to hate her but she was everything, she was sweet and beautiful. he wanted to hug you hearing your voice crack as you spoke.
you laughed at yourself, cancelling so many plans your friends had invited to you over breaks for him, stupid james potter.
letting out a breath as you wiped the tears off your cheeks, “i’m so stupid.” you muttered, sirius heard you making him sigh. you turned around and began to walk away. he called your name as he followed you around the house, you did not want to face your parents or his. sirius calling your name caught everyone’s attention. they all watched as sirius followed you, disappearing around the house. james quickly followed leaving everyone making lily confused, leaving everyone confused on what happened.
sirius heard james so he stopped and let him follow you out of the yard.
he continued to call your name but you continued to walk away from him, he finally caught up to you grabbing your wrist.
“baby—“
“do not call me that!” you yelled at him yanking your wrist from his grip, “you do not get to call me that anymore.” the tears kept falling, there was no stopping that. james had tears in his eyes, it was a mess.
“please, just listen to me.” he begged, you scoffed. “no you listen to me, you chased after her for years!” realization struck him, sirius slipped and told you.
“you- what the hell was i too you, james?” desperation filled your voice, “i love you! an— and. god!” you groaned turning your head away. “i was never yours, but you were mine. all the time. while i was away, i was yours— writing to you, thinking about you, calling you, everything! while you were chasing her!” your voice rose in anger.
james had finally let the tears fall, he never knew it would ever come to this. you guys had been best friends since birth, literally. two weeks after you were born, he was. sharing birthdays growing up because the two of you wanted to share it. then he fell in love with you, and you fell in love with him.
now everything was crushed, your friendship and your relationship, he was losing you— he could see it in your eyes.
“i am so stupid.” whispering to yourself, again. luckily he didn’t hear you.
“just, enjoy your friends, james.” you spoke quietly as you turned away and james was so heartbroken he let you walk away, he watched you walk up the stairs to your porch and disappear into your home.
you immediately walked up your stairs and fell onto your bed, sobbing. not even ten minutes had passed when your mother realized you were gone, and she went back home to find you. she walked up the stairs quickly seeing your door open and the sounds of your sobs, her shoulders sunk seeing her daughter like this.
“sweetie.” she whispered sitting on your bed putting her hand on your shoulder.
“i thought he loved me back.” you spoke between sobs, you knew she knew because she was your mom. even though you didn’t tell her this one thing, she knew. the nights he snuck into your room or watching the two of you from the potters kitchen window.
“oh, my sweet girl.” she slid her shoes off and wrapped her arms around you letting you cry. soon enough, your father came home sensing something was wrong when his wife didn’t come home, he saw the two of you but let you be.
almost an hour had pass when the tears stopped, your mom wiped your cheeks and kissed it. “go take a warm bath and i’ll cook your favorite dinner.” she smiled as her hands were on your face, nodding softly the two of you got off of your bed.
later that night, you laid in your bed thinking.
james was never yours to lose.

you drew stars around my scars but now I'm bleedin'
'you came,' you whisper, as you slowly open the door to your apartment. your eyes are clumped together with tears and old mascara. he smiles, his stormy eyes healing the storm which bubbles furiously within you.
'you called.' he says, tucking sweaty strands of your hair behind your ear. you offer him a shaky smile as he enters your house. something about the scent of his smoke and your incense sticks calms you. you tuck your lower lip under your teeth as his arms engulf your shaking body against his. you melt underneath the warmth of his touch, the softness of the sweater.
'it's okay, sweetbug.' he murmurs, his finger tantalizing the mess of your hair.
you feel hot tears pool in your eyes, as you tuck your lower lip underneath your teeth. his touch calms you, soothes you. but a voice screeches inside your head. he does this for money. he does this for your money. you want to push him away at the thought, but you can't. he feels comforting. he feels like a hot cup of cocoa on a christmas eve. he feels like the scent of incense that hangs around in your house. he feels like the shadows you'd chase at the grocery line as a kid. he feels like home.
'sweetness, it's okay to cry,' he whispers, as he holds you closer. there's a beat of silence before you break down again. your eyes spill tears of anger, shame, guilt and sorrow and you're clutching the wool of his cardigan. you shake violently with your heart drenching sobs and it kills you, but this feels better. better than the moment when his ink bleeds on paper while he listens to you. better than the moments when he talks to you about your issues. you want him to hold you close, but then again it's a professional setting.
'i shouldn't have called you,' you sob.
'it's okay love,' he soothes, placing a soft chaste kiss on your forehead. 'can you take some deep breathes for me darling?' he questions as you slowly try to calm yourself. your chest heaves against his, your throat scratchy but you take a few deep breathes. you hide your face against his chest,
'i'm sorry, sirius.' you say. you can hear his heartbeat against your eardrums, and it calms you.
'it's okay love,' he whispers, his nose hidden in your hair. he inhales the scent of your shampoo. his chest rumbles.
he feels like the comfort of your old cardigan.

Summary: Lily Evans has noticed something odd. Her fifth year was nothing new. She still hated James Potter's friends just as much as she hated James Potter, but she had a new problem... Sirius Black seems to be falling for the wrong girl without anybody noticing. What does a villain like Black have to offer a girl like Laine Crowley, and why does Lily care so much?

Pt 1
In the opinion of Lily Evans, James Potter was a pig and Sirius Black was a deplorable villain.
The only two males of the most desirable gang of reprobates in Hogwarts she was remotely okay with were Remus Lupin - a quiet, if not lovely young man, and Peter Pettigrew, yet another fly caught in Potters horrid influence. Yet the fifth member of these horrible pranksters, completely confused her.
Sure, Laine Crowley had gotten on the Hogwarts express with the same timid look as Lily had in first year. Sure Laine Crowley was almost always top of her class like Lily was. Sure, the two girls were not in the least friends, but for heavens sake, why on earth was she bosom buddies with the likes of Potters crew?
Laine had been thick as thieves with those boys ever since their first Hallowe'en at Hogwarts and Lily had never known why.
Now she sat in a particularly rowdy Transfigurations class in her fifth year, watching the rambunctious girl impress the entire class with her skill and charm, quite literally Lily thought, as Crowley took the small rat- turned pin cushion - into the air with an alarming speed. Her spell barely uttered, as she shoved it across the room with a simple flick of the wrist at a vile Slyrherin girl who had almost decapitated her rat in one foul swoop. The class erupted in outrage on one side and applause on the other.
Lily grimaced as the boys patted her on the back and made jovial excuses as McGonagall bore her full wrath down on the girl. It was here that Lily noticed the first of many inconsistencies. This girl, usually so competent, confidant and a prime example of Grifindoor pride was squirming under Sirius Black's warm gaze. Lily sat up straighter in her chair, peering over the shoulders of cackling Grifindoors.
The indestructible Laine Crowley was as red as a beetroot and nobody was noticing! Lily's mouth fell agape at the scene before her. The handsome, if not scruffy Black had a tender hand on Laine's shoulder, with an award-winning smile plastered on his face from ear to ear. Crowley shoved him off her, her usual bravado spilling out in waves as she was hauled from between Potter and Black by McGonagall, she said something with a cheeky wink up at their fuming professor and then she was gone. The boys in utter hysterics, including Remus, who was hunched over his 'Transformation Ages, a History' textbook, cackling. Lily groaned. She happened to set her sights on Sirius again after her dramatic eye roll. He was staring at the classroom door, rather uncharacteristically. This struck look on his face. He may as well have had big hearts taped over his eyes.
Lily was appalled. She was disgusted. She was infinitely curious. She decided then and there that she needed to get closer to the situation if she really wanted to discern the true nature of this strange development.
As she was mulling over her options, she caught James' eye. He smiled brilliantly up at her. She shoved her nose right back into her textbook, just as McGonagall re-entered her classroom. Lily was very glad that her textbook was rather staunch in stature and blocked her view, else as McGonagall took another 15 points from Grifindoor while James was crooning up at the redhead, he would've seen the hot blush in her cheeks and the nervous tremor on her lips.

It was in the following days that Lily found she was running into Laine more and more. She eventually discovered that she was purposely running into the girl without knowing it. Lily ran a frustrated hand through her fringe. Watching from afar as this group she seemed to have a habit of stalking was taking break in a very populated court yard.
She sat with Marleen and Dorcas, who were in a heated debate about something Charms related. She wasn't listening though. She was watching Sirius and James sword fight with two ends of discarded broomsticks -stolen, clearly. Sirius turned to Laine after his triumphant victory, saying something that made her giggle in a flustered 2nd year sort-of-way. Then she watched him say something that made her throw her shoe at him.
Lily had noticed that they were dumb when it came to each other. Sirius flirted with every girl he saw, Laine ignored him. Laine flirted with Sirius, he ignored her. Laine, never mind flirting, if the girl even spoke to another bloke, Lily watched Sirius explode with what she supposed was some heinous.
They fought like cat and dog, they bickered at every turn and yet- Lily sat with her brows furrowed and her chin in her palm- they were looking at each other like lovestruck puppies. Lily noted that that was sort of the pattern with these two.
She didn't really understand why, but it irked her. Some deep chord within her twinged every time she looked at this popular pair. She looked over at Potter. She smiled. Wouldn't it be nice if he was like that? Lily statled. Like what? She shook her head violently. Standing up so fast that Marleen almost had a heart attack. She strode away without answering her worried friends pestering.
She reached her destination faster than she expected. No. She thought. Not Potter. And she would prove it. "Laine."
"Nah Pads, you're much more like, what his name again?- Ah! Alfarro the untimely- ah, Evans?" The girls laugh died, her smile dropped. Her brow quirked up in a surprisingly cute, rare vulnerability. "Uhm, what cann'I do fer ya?"
James jumped out of his skin before he jumped up from his precarious position in Crowleys lap. The witch grumbled at the obviously painful jerk of motion. Lily noted in the ensuing chaos Sirius' rush to his knees to fluster over her, glaring - again uncharacteristically- at his best mate. She shooed him away before James managed to conjour up something to say to the perturbed redhead.
"Lily! My darling flower. What can i do for you on this lovely morning hmm?" He swept his hair out of his face, maybe to help his brain work better, maybe to look attractive. Lily had to admit that he had done neither. He smiled dashingly at her. She glanced down to her real target.
"Laine. Sorry to bug you. Can I speak to you for a minute?" She gave the girl a sweetly apologetic look. Laine now looked even more confused. Pausing in her background assault on her very obvious crush.
"Well I don't know Evans... I've uh, gotta study before classes start..." James turned his head to look round at her. Lily couldn't see the look on his face, but Laine turned as white as a sheet as she stared at him. Lily imagined James must look absolutely terrifying behind his mop of hair.
Lily marched over, hauled Laine up by the arm only to glance at Black on her way up. She nodded her head at him.
"Red." He managed with a skeptical brow. She turned back to the task at hand. At Laines severe protest she turned to the girl again.
"Only take a moment." She hummed. Laine went silent and dully trodded along with her kidnapper until they reached a secluded corridor. Lily spun around alarmingly, realized she was still clutching onto the girls arm and promptly backed away. She watched Laines arm fall to her side. Just as she was about to speak, incredulity evident on her face, Lily beat her to it. "Have lunch with me this weekend. Three Broomsticks. I think it'll be safer there."
"Safer? What- Lily what on earth are you on about? Just tell me!" Laine was bewildered, but by now she simply growing irritated.
Lily shook her head. "No, no. Listen it's nothing really. Just, if you want, let me tell you over a Buttetbeer. It might interest you." She was being sneaky and she knew it. Sneaky and mean, but she had to know.
"O-okay. Whatever. 12.00 sharp?" Gotcha. Lily nodded. Laine turned away and headed back to the courtyard. She looked over her shoulder at Lily, who had also promptly turned and was headed towards her next class. Laine sighed.
What the hell was Prongs going to do when she got back?

Draco and I had fallen asleep and ended up missing supper. I woke up in the morning and looked around confused. I saw Vincent, Gregory, and Blaise all finishing up getting ready. Blaise was the first to notice me awake and smirked at me.
“Morning, Princess.” He said and I rolled my eyes.
“Why didn’t you wake us?” I asked, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.
“We tried, you two were completely out.” Vincent said.
“Come on, let’s let her get ready. We’ll save you guys seats.” Blaise said as he pushed Vincent and Gregory out. I looked over at Draco and smiled slightly. He always looked so peaceful while he was sleeping. I slipped out of the bed and made my way to the bathroom. I quickly got ready and looked down at my messed up uniform. I was definitely going to need to stop in at my room to get a new uniform. Although, the boys weren’t in uniform when they were getting ready. I shrugged and walked out to find Draco sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
“Morning, sleepy head.” I said and he looked over at me with a smile.
“Morning, love. You look like you’re feeling better.” He said as he got up. I nodded with a small smile.
“That was the best sleep I’ve gotten in a bit.” I said and he smiled at me.
“Good, now you wanna talk about what happened in class?” He asked and I sighed.
“We’re going to miss breakfast.” I said and he shook his head.
“It’s fine, we’ll get something in Hogsmeade. Now come talk to me.” He said, gently pulling me over to his bed. We sat down and I looked at him confused.
“Hogsmeade?” I asked and he chuckled.
“Did you forget we’re going to Hogsmeade today? You did get your permisionslip signed, right?” He asked and my eyes widened.
“That’s today? Merlin I didn’t even notice.” I said and he laughed.
“You did get it signed though, right?” He asked and I nodded.
“Good. Now talk to me, Y/N, I know you’re hurting about what happened in DADA yesterday.” He said. He took on of my hands in his and I looked up at him. His brow was furrowed in worry and he was gently rubbing my hand with his thumb to comfort me.
“Professor Lupin helped when he spoke with me.” I whispered.
“What did he say?” He asked.
“He knew my Father when they were in Hogwarts. He told me about how Father told him and his other friends how excited he was when Mother told him she was pregnant with me. He also said Father was heartbroken when Mother said he’d never be able to see me…” I answered. Draco gave my hand a small squeeze and I looked up at him with a sad smile.
“He said he’s never seen Father so heartbroken in his life. He also said that Father wanted to be a part of my life so badly. He told me that Harry’s Mother, Lilly hoped my Mother would change her mind and let Father see me.” I said and he sighed.
“Perhaps if you Father hadn’t died she would have. You know your Mother just wants to see you happy.” He said and I smiled at him.
“I know, Professor Lupin said Mother was just trying to protect me, but I’m not sure what she was trying to protect me from.” I said and Draco shrugged.
“Your Grandparents, perhaps?” He offered and I shrugged.
“Perhaps.” I said.
“Why don’t you ask her? I’m sure she’ll tell you.” He asked and I shrugged.
“I think it hurts her to talk about my Father… She feels guilty.” I said with a frown.
“If you really want to know, she’ll tell you.” He said and I sighed.
“I know you’re right, but I don’t want to hurt her.” I said and he squeezed my hand.
“You won’t. Now, about that bloody Hufflepuff.” He said and I rolled my eyes.
“We’re not on bad terms, Dray, you don’t need to go and hex him or something.” I said and he sneered.
“Not on bad terms? He bloody broke up with you on your birthday!” He said and I shook my head.
“Yes he did, but he had a good reason to break up with me. Besides, he comforted me recently.” I said and he looked at me confused.
“When?” He asked.
“That morning I left breakfast because Ron and Harry were bothering me.” I said and he rolled his eyes.
“What did they do to you?” He growled.
“Nothing, Dray, they just were saying unkind things about you and I just needed to leave.” I said and he pulled me into his side.
“You shouldn’t bother being around them.” He said and I sighed.
“They’re actually not that bad, when they’re not bad mouthing you.” I said and he groaned.
“Don’t tell me you actually like them.” He said and I shrugged.
“My brother isn’t as awful as I thought he’d be.” I said and he groaned.
“You’re killing me, love.” He said and I giggled.
“Just be nice and everything will be fine.” I said and kissed his cheek.
“No promises, now you go get dressed and I’ll meet you down in the common room.” He said and I nodded. I left Draco’s room and headed into my own. It was empty since everyone was at breakfast. I opened my closet and started looking through my clothes. I quickly picked out a nice outfit and smiled to myself. I got dressed in a white long-sleeved shirt, gray jeans, my white and black sneakers, and a gray jacket.
Tumblr media
I grabbed my permission slip and headed down to the common room. I found Draco sitting on the couch dressed in his usual all black. He looked up at me and smiled.
“You look amazing, love.” He said as he stood up.
“Thank you, you look handsom as always.” I said. He took my hand and led me out of the common room and towards the front of the castle. I wrapped my arm around his and smiled up at him.
“Will you come to Hundukes with me?” I asked and he chuckled.
“Of course, love, but first we need to eat.” He said and I nodded.
“Agreed, I think I’ll get some porridge.” I said.
“You enjoy that, I’ll be having a full English.” He said and I rolled my eyes. Draco loves a full English.
“Of course you will.” I said. We made it to the courtyard where all the students were waiting. We handed our slips to Filtch and walked over to our friends.
“Blaise told me you two made up.” Pansy said with a smirk. Draco glared at her and Blaise while I blushed slightly.
“Pansy, don’t you have something to say to our dear Y/N?” Blaise asked with a small smirk. She glared at him slightly before turning back to face me.
“I’m sorry for coming up with a stupid plan when we didn’t even need it…” She said and I giggled.
“It’s fine Pans.” I said and she smiled at me.
“Perfect! So you’re going to come to Fickle Fabrics with me, right?” She asked Draco pulled me closer to him.
“I’m taking Y/N to Honeydukes.” He said and she pouted a bit.
“You can’t hog her all day!” She said.
“I haven’t spent much time with her recently and I plan on making it up to her today.” He said and Pansy rolled her eyes.
“How about next trip I spend it with you, Pans?” I offered and she smiled.
“The whole trip?” She asked.
“You can’t hog her all day.” Blaise said, making the boys laugh.
“Oh but Draco can!?” She asked with her arms crossed.
“Okay, okay, let’s calm down.” I said and Draco wrapped his arms around me.
“Fine, next trip you’re coming to Fickle Fabrics with me!” Pansy said and I nodded.
“I promise.” I said.
“I need everyone’s attention!” Professor McGonagall called and we all turned to face her.
“Now remember, these visits to Hogsmeade village are a privilege. Should your behavior reflect poorly on the school in any way, that privilege shall not be extended again.” She said. Just as she finished Harry ran up to her with his slip.
“No permission form signed, no visiting the village. That’s the rule, Potter.” She said to him and I frowned slightly. I looked over at Hermione and Ron and they both looked upset that he couldn’t come.
“All those with permission, follow me. Those without, stay put.” Filtch said and started walking with Professor McGonagall. Harry stopped her and I stopped Draco from pulling me along.
“I’ll meet up with you in a bit.” I said and he groaned.
“Come on, love, you don’t need to stay around for that idiot.” He said and I shot him a look.
“I promise I’m coming, just give me a minute.” I said and he sighed.
“Fine, but if you’re not out of the courtyard in five minutes I’m coming back here and dragging you out.” He said and I chuckled.
“Fine, fine.” I said and waved him off. He kissed my cheek and left with the rest of our friends.
“I can’t. Only a parent of guardian can sign. Since I am neither, it would be inappropriate. I’m sorry, Potter. That’s my final word.” Professor McGonagall said before walking off. I walked next to Hermione and Ron, who both looked at him sadly.
“Harry didn’t get his signed?” I whispered and Hermione shook her head.
“Forget about it, guys. See you later.” Harry said and turned around.
“Harry wait!” I called and rushed up to him. He turned to look at me.
“Your Aunt and Uncle wouldn’t sign?” I asked and he shook his head.
“They hate anything to do with magic, I’m lucky I’m even at Hogwarts.” He said and I frowned.
“Why do they hate magic?” I asked.
“My Aunt always said my Mother was a freak because she was a witch, she hated my Dad too.” He said and I frowned more.
“I’m sorry.” I said and he smiled at me.
“It’s alright, Y/N. Go have fun with Ron and Hermione.” He said and I bit my lip.
“Um… actually Draco and I made up. Turns out he wasn’t dating Pansy and it was just a stupid plan to get me to break up with Cedric. I suppose I should have told them sooner that he broke up with me.” I said and Harry’s eyes widened.
“And you just forgave him?” He asked and I shrugged.
“He plans on making it up to me on this trip.” I answered.
“He’s still a git and that’s not going to change, Y/N. What happens if he does something like this again? Will you just forgive him like nothing again?” He asked and I narrowed my eyes at him.
“I didn’t forgive him like it was nothing! We fought about it last night and made up.” I said, crossing my arms.
“Whatever, have fin on your trip with Malfoy.” He said, spitting his name like venom. I took a deep breath and stopped Harry from leaving.
“Listen, Harry, just because I’ve made up with Draco doesn’t mean we can’t still get to know one another. I… I kind of like having a brother…” I whispered and he gave me a small smile.
“You’re not just going to ditch us?” He asked and I shook my head.
“I just wish you won’t talk bad about Draco so much.” I said and he chuckled.
“We’ll see.” He said and I smiled.
“Now go have a fun trip.” He said and I nodded.
“Fine, would you like me to bring you back anything?” I asked and he shook his head.
“You don’t have to.” He said and I shrugged.
“But I’d like to.” I said and he shook his head.
“Don’t worry about me, Y/N/N, just have fun.” He said and I sighed.
“Fine, but I’m getting you something whether you like it or not!” I said and ran off before he could say anything else.
I met up with my friends and Draco wrapped his arm around me. I snuggled into his side and sighed happily. We made it to Hogsmead rather quickly and Draco took me to the Three Broomsticks right away. We sat down and ordered breakfast. Once we finished eating we headed to Honeydukes were Draco and I bought plenty of sweets. Then Draco wanted to go visit Spintwitches Sporting Needs. We looked around and Draco bought a couple of things for Quidditch, which he was very excited about. I had found some nice Quidditch gloves and bought them for Harry. Draco gave me a look as I was purchasing them.
“I’m getting them for Harry.” I said as the witch handed me the bag.
“For Potter?” Draco scoffed as we left the store.
“I feel bad he couldn’t come.” I said and Draco rolled his eyes.
“It’s not your fault he bloody forgot to get it signed.” He said.
“He didn’t forget, his Aunt and Uncle wouldn’t sign.” I said and Draco rolled his eyes again.
“It’s still not your fault.” He grumbled.
“It’s called being nice Draco.” I said with a smirk and he rolled his eyes with a smile.
“No more Potter talk the rest of the trip.” He said, wrapped his arm around me.
“Alright, fine.” I said as he led us to another store.

The Maraurders & The Metamorphic Witch (Part 13)
Tumblr media
Words: 1.8k Warning: None Pronouns Used: She/Her - Use of Y/N
Things seemed to quiet down in Gryffindor Tower as the summer holidays approached. However, the same couldn't be said outside of it. Allegra and her group of friends had quickly built a reputation, a bad one at that. Their ideas of "jokes" often resulted in tears or things only the group of girls found funny, although they ceased to see amusement in any of it the moment the same logic was turned on them, normally by the Marauders, although Severus had occasionally done it in defense of Lily.
"You guys promise to write over the holidays?" asked Isolde, a soft tone to her voice as she looked around her group of friends. From the boys who so often caused mischief to the girls, she shared a dorm with. Sure, not all of them got along, but at least it wasn't World War Three. Lily and James were often going back and forth about something, with James all but pining after Lily and the fiery redhead ignoring him in favor of her friendship with Severus. The Marauders had bestowed each other with little nicknames and slowly started to find themselves over the last year. Their friendship had grown, and each had started to notice those around them more.
"Who else am I going to pester?" asked (Y/N) with a mischievous grin. "Plus, you know Hunter is gonna send letters, too," she added, as laughter rang from her lips. Isolde's cheeks heated up with a pinkish/red highlight as she was reminded of her friends knowing about her dating life.
"You can pester me," commented Sirius as he came to sit next to (Y/N), Remus squashing himself between (Y/N) and Marlene with a victorious grin. Marlene smiled sweetly as she reached for a bowl of her favorite jelly.
"Save me the nightmares and just date already," commented James, pushing his glasses back up the bridge of his nose before pulling out the parchment once stashed away in the inside pocket of his robes. "Wait, where's Lily? Didn't she come down with you girls?" he asked, ruffling his hair as if to give the illusion he'd just stepped off his broom again.
"Careful Prongs, your image is slipping," replied Peter, as if to poke fun at one of his best friends. Once again, he wore his favorite striped sweater, the one with Gryffindors colors.
"What image is that exactly?" asked Marlene, a playful grin appearing across her lips before the laughter escaped her. James could only send her a deadpan glare, although a smile soon cracked through. Of course, the girls would take the opportunity to poke fun at him; he'd done the same over the school year, particularly in the quiet moments.
"The poet?" questioned (Y/N).
"I was thinking the lady's man ... you know, the one with the terrible flirting," commented Isolde with her own smile.
"Be serious, guys," started Remus, happy to join in the fun. "Peter obliviously meant the bookworm image James had been working on over the year."
"And here I thought it was the star Quidditch Player and Master Mischief Maker one," voiced Sirius.
"You guys are hurting my feelings," declared James, "Peter clearly meant my tough guy image. I can't help but care for you lot, even when you are experimenting and blowing things up regularly."
"Come now, I hardly blow anything up these days. It's more boogy traps and pranks," replied (Y/N) with a small chuckle. "And helping you four with all your witchy needs when the time calls for it," she added, her smile unmoved as her eyes sparkled that little bit more.
"Or in detention," replied Peter quickly, receiving another chuckle from (Y/N), and she nodded in confirmation and pointed over as if to declare he was right.
"Ow!" exclaimed Isolde as something collided with the side of her head. Looking at the table, she was met with a screwed-up piece of parchment that appeared to have tape wrapped around it. However, when she picked it up, it seemed heavier than normal, as if something had been hidden inside it, perhaps a stone or a smaller rock.
Peter let out a tiny, scared squeak the moment his eyes landed on the group of girls set on terrorizing the castle, him included. He'd still yet to get over Samantha's claim of dating. Nor had he been able to shake the rumors of such the rest of the girls had been spreading. Despite his best efforts, the young wizard has yet to work out what they want from him. He couldn't offer them anything, he wasn't popular, there was nothing special about him. He was just another pureblood wizard, terrified of being alone and the brewing war; he just wanted to live his days at Hogwarts, learn to be a wizard, and figure out what he wanted to do when he left school.
"You okay, Peter?" asked Hunter upon joining the group and taking Lily's place. As was the norm, the redhead girl sat on the opposite side of the hall with Severus. There was little doubt the two were making plans for the holidays. The same thing he did with his friends from Hufflepuff and with Isolde. At least when the family wasn't on trips, whether to muggle amusement parks or attend family functions.
"I still don't get it," said James as he looked between the Wolffe siblings. He could see the similarities and features they shared—everyone could—yet they were so different everywhere else. One was a well-rounded fifth-year student, popular and smart, and a seeker for Hufflepuff, a school prefect. The other was a mischievous third-year, clumsy but incredibly smart, a thorn in the side of professors and fellow students alike but a brilliant chaser for Gryffindor's Quidditch team.
"Get what?" asked Remus, allowing curiosity to get the better of him. He soon understood the comment when he followed James' line of sight as it flicked between Hunter and (Y/N).
"(Y/N)'s a metamorphagi, so she's naturally more clumsy, mischievous, and curious. Mom and Dad neutered it and encouraged us both to be who we are," answered Hunter, reaching to tighten his red bandana, waving to a few students of his own year when they passed. "Mom always said the mischief came from Dad's side of the family," laughed Hunter, recalling his parents' back-and-forth comments, normally as part of their banter.
"Can't believe I'm only just asking this, but what do your parents do?" asked Sirius, asking the question he was sure Marlene, Isolde, or Lily would have asked long before now. Yet none of the boys had; it hadn't even crossed his mind to ask. Mainly because his own parents did little with all their free time; his mother rattled around the large house yelling about something; his father would be holed up in the office, attempting to write some book he'd been working on for years.
"Mom's a potions master, and Dad's a magizoologist," replied (Y/N). "I get my curiosity about potions from her. There was always a bang or two when Mom was in the basement. A couple of smoke clouds on the odd occasion," she laughed as she remembered her mom calling. She was fine from the basement when something exploded.
"That explains a lot," commented Peter. "You know we should all meet up sometime during the holidays," he added, his eyes lighting up at the idea. Sirius, Remus, and James were his best friends, but the girls were also close to him. Hunter, too, was growing on him. He didn't appear often, but when he did, it was easy to get along with him, as if it had been with (Y/N) before that.
"Good idea," started Isolde, a soft grin coming to her lips as she nudged Hunter gently as if saying she'd be happy to spend more time with him. "You lot can swear me in on your secret plans," she laughed. "Lily, too, if we can ever get her back."
"Secret plans?" asked Hunter, his attention quickly turning to his little sister again, just in time to see her ruffle Sirius's fluffy hair. It didn't seem to stop him from playing with her ever-changing locks, though. Instead, the pure-blood wizard flicked it on occasion before ruffling hers with a grin.
"I think they mean the mischievous ones," replied Remus, knowing several plans were in place to cause more havoc and chaos during the following school year. Old Filch and the wicked witches Allegra had joined were the main targets, along with the odd Slytherin and anyone else who just happened to walk into the firing zone, whether that be a professor or a student.
"Sure, it wasn't the laughing potion and snapping quill one?" asked Marlene in response, seeing utter confusion pass over James and Peter's features, much to the amusement of Sirius and (Y/N) when they finally paid attention.
"Am I invited to your little pity party?" asked Allegra as she waltzed over to collect the screwed-up piece of paper with the rock tightly bound inside. She and her new friends had hoped to transfigure it into something else, something Isolde was terrified of, but it hadn't worked out that way. Every attempt had failed to hit its target.
"Who's the Pumpkin Head over there?" asked Isolde, looking over to where Allegra's friends were gathered, only to see one of them with a Pumpkin Head, two of them struggling to move with jelly legs, and another two dangling upside down, as if an invisible line was holding them there. The other wasn't fairing any better, as it appeared as if her front teeth were growing larger by the second.
"Process of elimination, I'd say that was Ulrica," replied James.
"Snape and a few of his buddies are being idiots again," angrily spoke Allegra, missing Hunter's quiet sniggers, as if he knew the group of Slytherin boys weren't entirely responsible, at least not for all of it. Another two charms hit her before Allegra could continue with her rant or make the rude demands of those before her. One had a white shimmer to it, and the other had a blue spark. The first locked her legs together, causing her to tumble forward, whereas the other was by far the worst for Allegra, a singing charm.
"Hunter" called (Y/N), as she tried to contain her laughter.
"I'll hold my hands up to the Pumpkin Head, but the rest I'm surprisingly innocent of," replied Hunter, spotting Regulus and Mason giggling among their group of friends while pointing to the larger group of girls.
"I guess you two rubbed off on Mason and Regulus," Marlene commented with a chuckle. She finds her brother's actions sweet in a way, although she feels as if she should be protecting him. He seemed determined to get payback on her bullies, particularly Allegra, who'd tormented her throughout their second year.
"I'm so proud right now," said Sirius, although he'd unlikely say that in front of his parents. He would happily say it to Regulus before the train home reached Kings Cross.

“Most people don't listen with the intent to understand. Most people listen with the intent to reply.”
Remus Lupin wasn’t like most people. He wasn’t alive to please anyone but himself, and even that he did rarely. He wasn’t one to dress according to a trend or an occasion, and he couldn’t give a toss about whether people liked it or not either. He didn’t speak how people wanted him to. He didn’t do what people wanted him to. However, he found his people, people he didn’t need to try and impress, people who liked him for who he was, people who loved him even at times he didn’t love himself.
Asterin was one of those people. One who liked him even back when they were eleven and he was just a short skinny boy with loads of unexplainable scars and the title of a freak. One who accepted him, offered a helping hand whenever he needed, stuck by his side, even before she knew about his little secret and he disappeared once a month, showing up with more battle-like scars. And he offered nothing but the same treatment back.
Although she didn’t want to admit it, he could tell something was out of the ordinary. Terribly out of the ordinary.
He leaned against the wall of the greenhouse, watching her skillfully light a cigarette; he chuckled at that, wondering how long after they had last seen each other she found comfort in the nicotine drug – perhaps he was a bad influence.
----------
trust me or not, this isn't a remus x oc fanfic (it's sirius x oc, surprise).
i have been working on it for a while now and the plan is two "books", the first following the marauders' teen years, the second their lives after the war (mainly the oc's in both books).
question is; would you be interested?
let me know.
