A flash fiction short story from my book. DM me if you'd like to buy a copy with similar works in it!
My skin is dark and made of soil. Gravity keeps the dirt packed solid against my bones, always damp but never leaving residue on what I touch. Still, most people avoid me because of it.
Tonight at the supermarket, a woman stares at me, across the aisle where I’m stocking shelves. She has liquid black hair like a waterfall of ink, and I can tell she wants to touch me, the way her mouth is agape.
She walks over slow, not looking at my face, probably full of questions about my roots. I’m not prepared to answer, but I don’t have a choice. Soon she gets so close that I can feel her breathing oxygen into my soil, inhaling my earthy petrichor.
“Have you always been like this?” she says to my arms, one hand curled against her chest as if concerned. “Is it a condition? Must you be watered?”
She hovers her hands over my arms and it makes me nervous; she’s a cold kind of beautiful. Her fingers are curled into loose fists like they are holding seeds, and my pulse is visibly rumbling beneath my fine, top layer of dirt.
I don’t want her to touch me, but I do.
When she looks into my eyes, I see her eyes are not eyes at all, but eerie, dark holes in her face that seem to have no end.
As I stare into them, trying to find their end, she smooths her palms along my soil, slow and soft.
Then she stabs her fingers, sharp, into my dirt.
“Hey!”
And then I feel seeds, dozens of them, slipping from her fingertips and burrowing in my arms. My body absorbs them as if it has a choice.
“Meet me here tomorrow,” she says, pulling away her hands. They are covered in my dirt and as if I have a choice, I work here tomorrow. She runs off without another word, a flurry of hair, skirt and wind, leaving me alone in the aisle.
On the walk home, I feel the seeds dragging themselves down deeper. I can’t stop seeing her face, and the more I picture her – the endless flow of her hair, the empty pits of her eyes – the more painful the holes she left in my arms become.
Once inside, my energy drained, I feel the hard shells of the seed coats break apart, the roots crawling out and spreading through my body. They latch, parasitic, around my nerves and vessels, draining my blood as if for nutrients. Finally, sleek stems coil out from my surface, multiplying quickly, leaves fluttering in the air.
Humiliated, I watch it grow: a tangled web of vines that starts to flower into finicky, blue forget me nots. I know now that I can’t return to the store, and this is what it means to be dark and made of soil: everything that touches you gets in.

pairing: yaesara (sfw)
wc: 1k
They met this way every week, though Sara had grown far bolder since their last encounter.
———
“I leave on the quartermaster’s barque tomorrow morning.” Sara looked over the rim of her glass, eyes gauging, roving across the girlish pink of Yae’s cheeks— aglow from alcohol and the tenuous flicker of candlelight.
“Oh?” The general shifted at the low tone, cheeks puffing out endearingly, frown onset with when Yae leaned heavily into the table between them. “And where will you go?”
“Seirai,” she mumbled on an exhale, teetering forward until the wood dug into her sternum. “I am needed for matters of revitalizing the…” Sara trailed off, giving Yae a look most peculiar, eyes mired to where the kitsune’s teeth carved into her own bottom lip. A beat of questionable length passed, and Sara straightened with a shake of her head, reaching back for the near-empty bottle when she said again, “I leave tomorrow morning.”
It was a statement that begged attention, and so too did the general’s boldness— Yae had never held the other woman’s gaze for quite this long. There was a proposition in the cradle of such pragmatic words, falling clumsy yet brazen past Sara’s stern lips.
She beckoned something, the notion enlivening the kitsune all the more when gloved fingers intermingled with her own on the table. It had been years since they began this back and forth, years since the forest-dwelling tengu floated down to the peak of Mt. Yougou, winsome face and charming civility in tow.
Yae had tripped over rubbish left behind by thankless shrine goers, caught just before making acquaintance with the ground by Sara’s strong hands. How fortuitous, such a first encounter. Their palms slid together, and, by the grace of the cloaking moon above, they were locked in this eternal dance.
Sara had set foot beyond the threshold of her chambers only once thereafter, stopping by for nothing so salacious. Unless, of course, one counted the shallow bow and muttered question of concern the beginnings of a torrid affair.
Yae certainly did.
The first time Sara had asked after her, amidst the throes of untimely war, mere days following Yae’s sudden bout of unexplained exhaustion and huffy demeanor, the kitsune felt the fires of allure flare brightly. She could do little more than watch them blaze, hopeless to temper their scorching glow. Inevitable and unequivocally irksome it was, though Sara’s eyes met hers without hesitation, and the kitsune could not help but revel in shared yen.
It was an unbearable warmth; she suffocated from within, choking on the black smoke of their kindling. They circled one another, they orbited closely, fingers brushing at the handle of the tea kettle, shoulders bumping past the second torii gate, lips ghosting by their third bottle of something equally cloying and sharp— and here they sat again.
Yae was certain that the night would leave them entangled— limbs locked and breath shared as always— but there was a different sort of spark in Sara’s eyes tonight, a daring flash of umber amidst the gold. The kitsune rose on her knees, crawling as gracefully as intoxication would allow, tugging the bottle from Sara’s white-knuckled grasp.
Condensation pooled in the webbing of her fingers when she took a long swig, eyelids drooping by the time she swiped a hand below her mouth. Sake dribbled down her wrist, slow enough for her to catch it with her tongue, humming throaty and satisfied before setting the bottle down with finality.
“That’s terribly soon, darling.” She slumped into Sara’s side, delighting in the twitch of muscle, the tremble of wet lips.
“I apologize for not notifying you sooner, I’ve just been…” her voice dipped again, left hand moving to Yae’s elbow, fingers still cool from the glass. “I’ve just been so busy with ever-fluctuating internal affairs.”
The kitsune pouted, feigned and forced though Sara responded in kind with a frown of her own. “It’s a shame really, I do miss our little talks when you’re away.”
“I’ll make it up to you, Guuji Yae.”
“Come now.”
Sara swallowed thickly, hand traveling up to curl over Yae’s shoulder; Yae preened at the firm grip. “Miko.”
“Much better,” she purred, nails piercing sharply into the warm flesh of a muscled thigh. The general jumped, and the twine of affection cinched tighter.
“Any way I can be of service to you, Miko, don’t hesitate to ask, I—” Sara cut herself off with a grunt, falling back on her elbows when Yae pressed further forward, words of confidence now shaking with uncertainty. With wanton thrill. “I wish to correct my mistake.”
“You could kiss me.” Stated unwaveringly and with clear intention, the short suggestion rendered the general silent.
She blinked hard in response, lips falling open and cheeks flushing handsomely, unfairly so. Sara’s words were raw, scratching up her throat before the croaked response met twitching ears. “You said that last week.”
“Yes,” Yae lilted, thighs now straddling narrow hips. “But you didn’t kiss me last week.”
“Or the week before that?”
Something about the earnestness of the question and the eager flit of Sara’s eyes, set laughter loose from the cage of Yae’s chest. She chuckled until the woman beneath her began to scowl, pressing flat, chest to chest, lips below fluttering lashes. “Yes, and the week before that.”
“Perhaps we should do something about this unjust truth.” Sara’s arms wrapped loosely around her waist, sober words spearheading her addled mind until something acidic and urgent licked at the base of her spine. She huffed humorously to spite it, fingers twining in strands of indigo.
“You said that last week.”
“Yes, well… last week was different.”
“How so?” She hummed into Sara’s neck, content to drift in the warmth and attar of Aralia, though the general’s roving hands drew her attention elsewhere. It was a realm beyond intriguing to feel the way such strong fingers shook, lacing into her hair and tugging until the clumsy clash of their lips called her wide eyes to close.
Sara’s lips were chapped and they had landed just off the mark, but she pried open Yae’s shrewd lips with ardency unparalleled. The kitsune’s ears flicked, and her shoulders loosened, gasping into the heat of the other woman’s mouth when the veil of teasing lifted.
Flint struck the rock of her heart, and they were a pyre set ablaze.
The harsher lash of teeth left her yelping, pulling back to pant heavily into the lessened space between them— awestruck and breathy with wonder. “In all my years...”
“Pardon?” Sara’s eyes remained closed, though she leaned up searchingly, wholly uninterested in seeking an answer to her question. Yae met her halfway, kissing at loose, downturned lips.
“What brought this on?” the kitsune wondered aloud, squeaking most unseemly when Sara thrust up from below, flipping them over and gazing down from above. She appeared almost lost, unsure of where to look until Yae settled a palm at her cheek, brow raised.
“The trip will be long,” she muttered, turning her head until her lips grazed Yae’s hand. “The longest one I’ve ever been on.” She bent at the elbows, closing her teeth over the kitsune’s pulse point, snapping at the fluttering skin when she said once more, “I leave tomorrow morning.”
Yae tugged until they were flush then, ebullition stiff-arming the hiccup of yearnsome desire from her lungs. The lone candle snuffed out, and she accepted breathlessness and impassioned fervor with an open mouth.
Sara was to leave tomorrow morning; perhaps the kitsune ought to join her, challenging the very ocean to douse their flame.

hi all. it’s been a while since i’ve logged on here. i have a new blog (@carefuldaughtercas*). i’ve transferred schools to one of the best universities in my state, i’ve learned a lot about myself and my relationship with my body. i’ve gone through the worst mental health episodes of my life and i’ve been the happiest i’ve ever been.
and i got engaged tonight. if you’d told the version of me that started this blog, back when i was in high school, i would have lost my mind. i know that’s a cliche, babe. but it’s true.
i’m a little tipsy now. bear with me.
when i started this blog, it was under the url confusedsapphics. i was questioning my sexuality, questioning my brain, questioning my own value. i didn’t know what i wanted and i didn’t know whether i would deserve what i wanted even if i knew the answer. i didn’t know what my sexuality was, i didn’t know who i was, i didn’t know anything.
i met my now-fiancée(!) in the same coffee bean i used to spend all my time in, agonizing over my sexuality and general teenaged angst. i got to know her working on a web series i made to work through that same angst. i fell in love with her while taking the next steps forward, after getting rejected from my top choice schools, while coming into my own, after navigating another, broken relationship, while finally getting an autism diagnosis, growing comfortable in my own body, learning what i was capable of doing with my life.
and i’m not there yet. my relationship to my body is complex, i’m in grad school application hell, i still have no idea how to accommodate my own neurodivergence.
but she is safe. she is home. every time i have a problem, a fear, an anxiety, every time i make a mistake or get overwhelmed or confused, she’s there. and we talk about it. and i leave the conversation not only feeling better about whatever issue was going on, i feel better in our relationship, which i never think is even possible. but it is. every day with her is better than the last.
i know she can take care of me and i know that i know her well enough to take care of her. i’ve loved her for at least three years now, maybe more. when i first came out as a lesbian, the month i turned eighteen, i didn’t think i’d ever find love. not in a particularly dramatic way; i was just relatively certain it wouldn’t happen for me, and i was okay with that. i didn’t let myself want a life partner because i didn’t want the disappointment that would inevitably come without having one.
i was wrong. i was so wrong. she’s watching comedy clips online next to me right now. we’re wearing color coordinated pajamas. she has a ring on her finger that i chose for her. she’s showing me supernatural posts. she just bought us tickets to go to the metropolitan museum of art tomorrow. i love her more than i thought i’d love anyone ever.
anyway. i guess this is all to say—i’m glad i have this blog to show me how far i’ve come. and if anyone stumbles across this blog, or still follows it, or remembers me from way back when… that’s how i am. i’m engaged. i’m a lesbian, i’m still learning, i’m still growing, and i’m unbelievably in love.
love you all.
-ju*
*yes i’m a supernatural blogger now. ish. sorry
*did i ever use the name iz on this blog? that’s what i use everywhere else.

Secrets
Warnings: none!
Summary: You and Peter find out each other’s secrets by accident.
A/n: I’ll be setting up a blurb night soon! So stay tuned 😎
Tumblr media
You got off the train and made your way to school. Another boring day at mid-town high. Being the sister of Tony Stark had its perks, but it also had its downsides. No one knew that you were Tony’s sister, but you had to admit that being the secret sister was nice because you didn't have people up in your face all the time, except Peter Parker. Peter Parker was the only one who knew your secret. You and Peter had been friends for years and up until a couple weeks ago he had no idea about your secret. You stupidly were doing work for Tony in your notebook while having lunch at school one day, when Peter happened to sit next to you.
*flashback*
"Ugh this formula isn't working." You thought to yourself. Maybe it was just this noisy cafeteria that was making it difficult to think.
"Hey whatcha doing?" Peter said sliding beside you on the bench. Peters eyes widened "Stark industries?" He said a bit too loudly.
"Peter shush!" You snapped and scurried to get your notes into your book bag.
"What are you doing with formulas from Stark industries?" Peter whispered.
"That's not what it is." You rolled your eyes, "silly Peter." You booped his nose with your index finger.
Peter blushed, "uhm yes y/n it is, uh," he stuttered then shook his head to break his gaze with you, "Yes it is, I have an internship, I've seen them."
"I can't say." You groaned, annoyed he didn't take the nose boop as bait to change the subject.
"Come on, it's not like I'd tell anyone." He whined.
"Okay fine, but you have to swear that you won't tell anyone." You said sticking your pinky out for the two of you to pinky swear.
"I swear." Peter said locking his pinky with yours.
You leaned in and whispered "Tony Stark is my older brother and I kinda own part of Stark industries."
"No way!" Peter looked at me in shock.
"Yes way, but it's not a big deal." You laughed and showed him a picture of you and Tony with your parents before they died.
"Wow, he's pretty cool, isn't he?" Peter said in awe.
"Maybe to you because of your internship, but as a brother he's kinda lame." You smirked and nudged Peter with your elbow, to let him know you were only joking.
*end flashback*
You smiled to yourself at how understanding Peter had been about keeping your identity from him. You stood at your locker and sorted the books you needed for class into your bag.
"Y/n!" You heard Peter shout from the other end of the hall.
You waved to him and he jogged down the hallway to you.
"How's it hanging Parker?" You asked as he leaned against the locker next to yours.
"You ready for that Chem test tomorrow?" He asked.
You rolled your eyes, you and Peter had known each other for years and he still forgets that you’re pretty much a genius.
"Sorry forgot we have a prodigy here." Peter put his hands up in defense. "Actually May has been asking about you, she wants you to come over for dinner tonight." He said, crossing his arms.
"Peter you didn't tell her did you?" You said in a hushed voice.
"What? No! She asked what you've been up to, because you know she hasn't seen you around in awhile. So I lied..." Peter trailed off and looked at you with hopeful eyes. "I said you had an internship at Stark industries too."
You laughed slightly, "I'll send Tony a text and let him know I won't be home for dinner.
"Sweet, you're not mad?" He asked.
"No peter I'm not mad. You're actually a genius for telling her that." You smiled at him for being so sweet and for protecting your secret. Even though you knew he was dying to tell Ned and pretty much anyone who would listen.
"Oh and Ned might be by later too. He's got this lego Death Star he wants to build." Peter said staring to get all giddy.
"Wait, didn't you two build that a couple months ago?" You raised an eyebrow curiously at him.
Peters face went red, "oh yea i meant he needed help with his homework." He said quickly and started off down the hall, "gotta go gonna be late for class."
You sighed and headed to class. You didn't think anything of Peters weird behavior, due to the fact that Peter was sometimes scatter brained.
Peter got to math class and sat next to Ned.
"You can't come over tonight." Peter whispered to him.
"Why not , the Death Star isn't going to build itself Peter."
"Y/n is coming over for supper and she thinks we already put it together. She'll get suspicious." Peter whisper yelled.
"Fine, but it wouldn't have to be rebuilt if someone didn't make me drop it." Ned rolled his eyes at him "And you haven't told her about you know what yet?"
"No I can't Ned." He mumbled.
Later after school peter went and did his usual spider man stuff. He was just about done and was heading home and then realized that he had forgot about you. He raced home and climbed into his room through the window. His bedroom door was already shut, so he dropped to the floor and took his mask off.
The door opened, "hey Peter, May said to make myself at home..." you started to say, your eyes focused on your phone.
Peter quickly pressed his suits release button and let it fall to the floor, then kicked it under his bed.
"She said I'd find you in..." You stopped short of yourself when you looked up from your phone, to see Peter standing there in front of you in his boxers. It was just like Ned all over again, Peter had thought to himself.
"Woah Sorry Parker." You put your hands up in defense and smirked, holding back laughter. You stood there staring at him and laughed, "I guess I should have knocked."
Peter blushed, "Aunt May, can you please stop letting people in my room without knocking!" He shouted.
"I'll go check out what May is up too and come back when your dressed." You said.
"No, its fine!" Peter said, grabbing a sweatshirt and pulling on pants.
"Why were you in your underwear anyway?" You asked.
"I was warm." He lied.
You shut the door and glared at Peter. "You better not be lying to me. You realize that I have access to the worlds largest data pool, if I want to know something, I’ll find out."
"Look Y/n, i am not lying." Peter almost couldn't get the words out. You frightened him sometimes, you were very confident and fierce, never caring what others thought of you.That and you were smarter than him and you were pretty much one of the most powerful people in America with being a stark. Even if Peter was a good liar, you could still tell whether he was lying or not and if looks could kill, you would be shooting daggers from your eyes.
Peter watched you as you tilted your head to look behind him. "So what's that?" You pointed to the underneath of his bed.
"Nothing, just stuff."
"Peter?" You pushed past him and grabbed his Spider-Man suit and pulled it out from under the bed.
"You just happen to have a bright red leotard?" You questioned and then spread it out before he could rip it out of her hands. "Peter!!!!" You gasped and dropped the suit, "That's spider mans suit, I built that!" You shot him a look, "wait are you Spider-Man?" You asked as your eyes grew wide with realization.
"Yes." Peter said annoyed and grabbed the suit, hiding it in his bookbag. Then he realized what you had said, his eyes widened "you built that?!"
You grabbed the bookbag and pulled the suit from it. "Yes I did, Tony asked me to do a suit for some spider guy. I didn't think he was talking about you!" You exclaimed and examined the suit. "What did he tell you about the suit?” You asked.
"Mr. Stark said he made it." Peter said nervously.
"God of course he did.” You rolled your eyes. “Anyway that's besides the point, you're Spider-Man and you've been using my tech to help you fight crime? Did Tony tell you about the formulas too!? Is that why you caught me in the cafeteria." You looked anxious and kept looking at the suit.
 "No, the formula I noticed was mine..." Peter looked down at his hands.
"Wait, the spider web goo, you made that?" You looked at him in disbelief.
"Yes I did, I gave the formula to Mr. Stark because he wanted to see if he could improve it. Then he told me to leave it how it was. I was confused when I saw you with it because Mr. Stark was the only person I told. So I figured you had to be working on Stark industries stuff if you had my web formula." Peter explained.
"Peter that's the coolest chemical reaction I've ever seen! I love playing with that stuff!" You said excitedly.
Peter blushed and you pulled him into a hug. “Let’s get out there before May starts getting suspicious.” You said almost as a hum, you were as happy as could be and even happier now that you and Peters secrets were out.

CHAPTER 1
CHAPTER 2
Tumblr media
“Insane madness of the living can be more, more terrible than the bloody hunger of the undead...”
― Silvia Liam
The rules of hunting down prey are simple. First, you observe to take note of their weakness, then you stalk...waiting for the right opportunity to take your shot. Hunting is more often about a game of time than aim sometimes. You jump too soon and you risk scaring your target to a successful escape, or you do it too late that you let them fully slip through your grasp. Hunting... has always been about perfect timing.
"You already know the rules of the game, right boy?"
The frail form of a seven year old child cowered against the foot of a dead tree, eyes shaking as it regarded the man leering at him. The sky was a deep dark velvet above them, and the only source of light came from the full moon that dipped in and out between the passing clouds. A bell dingled from the tight chain strapped around his left ankle when he moved, the sound causing the smile on the man's face twist into a wicked grin.
The hum of a gun being cocked sent the boy to give a choked sob. He shakily tried to stand up from his spot and pressed his palm against the rough bark of the tree to support himself, his wide eyes set on the looming form that has taken a step closer to where he stood.
"It's the first sturgeon moon tonight, so we are going to change the rules a little bit, okay?" Those words only made the child shake harder, the thin shirt he had now clinging to him like second skin due to the cold sweats gripping him.
"You run. And if I catch you, you die," the man cooed as he craned his face a bit to the side, causing the light from the moon to illuminate his features briefly. He looked handsome, inhuman, like he was one of the fallen souls exiled to earth at the beginning of times.
The man moved the arm holding his hunting gun and used it to lift the chin of the boy still cowering in front of him. He smiled—a smile so beautiful and dangerous it can make angels weep.
"But if you die, then your brothers will be the one running in this forest to take your place. So...make sure I don't catch you, hmm?"
Tears finally streamed down the bruised cheeks of the child as he realized what he was up to tonight. Eyes wide with fear, he pushed himself off the tree he was leaning on and started making a run for it.
He could still hear his words even as he dove deep into the woods, the bell on his feet masking his thundering footsteps.
"Seven bullets! You have one minute to hide, son~!"
Gunshots pierced the night air like a wailing scream.
------
Bang!
Jeno lowered his hunting rifle and let go of his breath slowly. Despite the shadows cast by the towering trees surrounding him, his eyes could still clearly see the slight flailing of the fawn he just shot before it went completely still. Above him, a flock of crows looked down on the fallen prey with their beady eyes, as if gauging the best time to dive for their feast.
He slowly picked himself up from his hiding spot, a wide oak tree with overarching branches that hid him from sight. He's been crouched there for a good half hour or so, just waiting for the fawn to finally circle the area. He's been observing it for the past week or so, taking note of its routes, and today he decided to make the kill.
Unlike other hunters, Jeno prefers the thrill that comes with stalking his prey over simply making a successful game. For him, the fun of hunting is in the process and not in its ending—a kill , after all, means nothing if you didn't work hard for it.
He looked down on the small fawn now as it lay lifeless on the mossy forest ground with its glassy eyes still open. Leaning over, he lightly pressed his hand over it to feel its heartbeat just to check if he killed it properly.
It was so beautiful and graceful just prancing in the forest a few days ago….it would be a shame if it suffers now.
"Hey, you got it?" A voice from the edge of the clearing made him look around. Haechan emerged from between the trees, his own hunting rifle slung over his shoulder.
"Yup. What did you get?"
The other boy lifted a brown sack and gave it a light shake.
"Got three rabbits. I'm too lazy to skin them here so I'll just ask Taeyong-hyung to do it. Want to go back now?"
Jeno turned to look back at the fawn in front of him briefly before finally shaking his head. He didn't really want to go back to the mansion yet, so he decided to just throw an excuse to the other for now.
"You go ahead. I'll just skin it right here," he said casually over his shoulder at his brother. Haechan, too cold and too bored to stay another minute in the humid woods, gave a wave of his hand before turning back. Unlike Jeno, he prefers the comforts and luxuries of the manor over anything else.
"I'll go ahead then. Try to get back before nightfall, the forest can be a dangerous place~" he said in a sing-song voice, knowing full well it was a useless warning he just gave.
Jeno simply ignored him and silently pulled his skinning knife from his belt so he could get to work. Nights in the forest have never scared him, he knew it like the back of his hand.
If anything, it is the creatures there who should be terrified of him.
------
You glanced over at Jisung and Chenle who were currently immersed in their readings over the page you’ve been scanning. The sun is about to set in just a few minutes and you have the last session of the day scheduled for the pair before you could pack up and go home. Your lips slightly quirked into a smile as you watched Jisung lean over slightly into the other to silently ask about something, Chenle looking up from his pages to roll his eyes before patiently answering. The two have such different personalities from each other, which adorably and ironically, makes them work so well together.
If you're going to be honest with yourself now, you'd say it is your time with the two youngest that you enjoy the most as Rosewood's tutor. Chenle and Jisung were withdrawn and shy at first, but the pair slowly started warming up to you as time went by. Maybe it's because they are younger, but you prefer the innocent air around them every time you would have your lessons. Chenle is the chattier and the more confident of the two, but with his help, even the shy Jisung also started lightly joking around with you on his best days.
That's not to say that you hate your time with the rest of the brothers. You've only ever had one session with Mark—which went so well as expected from the eldest—while the rest have always been polite and casual. There isn’t really anything about your job and connection with any of the boys that should put you on edge and yet... you have to admit that there are still those rare moments when you just feel as if something is out of place. You couldn't really place your finger on it, nor have you blatantly caught anything suspicious, but sometimes you just feel odd whenever you are around any of the four middle children. It’s something similar to being watched...like there is an imaginary pair of eyes always pinned to the back of your head, or the ghost feeling of hands hovering around your throat.
Your eyes flickered now to the grand clock on the far side of the room which finally struck five. Closing your own book which you have been scouring over, you called out towards the two who quickly looked up from their work.
"Alright, time's up. Have you answered the first two questions at least?" You asked with a smile. Chenle groaned and pointed at Jisung accusingly.
"I only got three questions because he kept disturbing me, noona."
Jisung frowned and you had to keep your laugh back with how offended he looked.
"Hey, I wasn't disturbing you. I was just asking questions."
"Okay, okay. Don't fight now. Do you want an extension for the chapter quiz? We do have our next lesson the day after tomorrow."
Their faces simultaneously lit up.
"Can we do that?" Chenle asked.
"Yes, but I'll have to leave you the assignment of reading another chapter and finishing the questionnaire for that as well. That'll be your homework, okay?" You tried your best to put on your best impression of a stern look, which only made the two giggle.
"Okay, noona."
"You promise you'll do it?"
Jisung put up his right hand and placed his left one over his heart.
"We promise."
That made you chuckle. "Well then, that will be all for today. I'll see you again tomorrow, okay? I'll have lessons with your brothers but just come to me if you have any questions." You gathered the rest of the papers that you have sprawled on the desk you were using before waving the two goodbye.
You were in the middle of trying to fit in a rather stubborn pile of files on your bag that you didn't really notice the tall figure that entered from the front door. When you finally looked up, it was already too late for you to stop crashing straight first into someone's chest, if not for the strong hands that held you steady. You felt an arm settle on your waist, and another on your back as you almost toppled when you hastily stepped back.
"Oh! I am so sorr—" you looked up with wide eyes to see Jeno looking down on you. Your words died in your throat when your eyes caught the red stain on his neck and you gasped.
"Jeno, what happened?!" Your voice raised in panic as you stared wide eyed at the blood running down the side of his neck. He gave you a slight look of confusion before raising a hand to touch the area you've been staring at.
"Ah… this…"
You didn't wait for him to finish. Quickly, you grabbed his hand and turned on your heels to drag him to the opposite direction. You didn't look back to see his surprised expression, and before he could even say anything, you had already pushed him into one of the expansive bathrooms down the nearest hallway.
"Sit there."
You pushed him urgently on the closed toilet seat before you proceeded to rummage on the hidden compartment behind the mirror that Taeyong showed you before. You quickly grabbed the box of first aid kit there and hastily opened an antiseptic wipe.
"Uhm...noona…"
You didn't pay him any attention, too focused on what you needed to do. You quickly kneeled in front of him so that you were more eye-level with each other before finally pressing the damp wipe against his injury.
"Shh. This might sting a little. We have to see how deep your wound is and stop the bleeding," you said, a small frown creasing your brows as your fingers gently dabbed at his skin. You were so focused on what you were doing that you didn't notice the light in his eyes shift as he looked at you closely.
His gaze dropped to your slightly parted lips, then at the look of concentration on your features.
Are you...worried about him?
Your frown deepened as you finally managed to wipe most of the blood away from his skin. The antiseptic sheet you were using has already turned dark red from the liquid, but still you haven't—
"It's not my blood," Jeno said plainly, his voice suddenly sounding too close to you. You looked up to him in confusion, and for the first time you realized how close the two of you were. His gaze didn't waver from your face, pinning you into the spot where you are kneeling in front of him.
"Not your…"
"I was hunting. I was skinning the game I caught but my hand slipped and I hit a major vein. This is deer blood."
If your face wasn't burning after realizing how close the two of you were at the moment, it is definitely on fire now. You opened your mouth to say something, then closed it again in embarrassment. Jeno continued staring at you and you watched as his lips ever so slightly curled into a smirk.
That made you suddenly stand up from your crouch. He calmly followed you with his gaze, a mix of curiosity and amusement in his brown eyes.
"I-I'm so sorry. I thought you were injured so I panicked," you stuttered as your eyes fell on the bloody wipe that is still on your hands. You quickly ducked to throw it away just so you could avoid his gaze.
Jeno followed your every move closely before slightly leaning his head to the side. He seems to be mulling over something, face now devoid of any telling emotions.
"Were you concerned about me?" He asked, tone curious. You glanced at him in surprise, stunned that he would ask such a question. It was bad enough that you stumbled over your words when you finally managed a reply.
"Of course I was concerned. Anyone would be."
Jeno slowly stood up from where he sat and for the first time, you realized just how much he towered over you. It didn't help that the two of you were in a much smaller space than usual which sent a wave of claustrophobia to wash you over briefly. You involuntarily took a step back, eyes only high enough to meet the base of his neck.
"Why though?" He asked again, and you could genuinely hear the curiosity in his tone. You frowned. He was asking...as if he isn't used to such a level of care. As if things like this are so foreign to him.
"Because you are my student. And I wouldn't want to see anyone hurt."
For a moment, Jeno didn't say anything else. He simply looked at you while you tried so hard not to flinch under his heavy gaze.
Then, as if a switch had been turned, he took a step to the side to free some space between the two of you. Your eyes shot to his face when he did that, and you were met by his boyish smile that crinkled his eyes into half moons.
That made you blink. You see it on him whenever he is with the rest of his brothers, but it was the first time he ever smiled that way to you.
"Thank you, noona. I appreciate it."
It was as if a blockage in your throat dissolved all of a sudden. You smiled back, a sense of relief overtaking you.
"Don't worry about it. I'm sorry I panicked, too."
"It's cute. Nobody has ever…" he trailed off before shrugging. "I guess, it's because we're all men here. So none of us are used to that kind of care."
You nodded slowly at that. It really must be hard...being in this kind of household. Now that you think about it, the boys are technically orphans.
"Anyway, I have to go. I need to get back before dark. I'm not really a big fan of night drives," you said as you picked up the bag you had haphazardly thrown into the sink in your panic earlier. Jeno simply watched you silently from where he stood.
"Make sure to be careful next time alright? Don't give anyone a heart attack again," you smiled before finally excusing yourself out. He smiled back and gave a nod of goodbye as you closed the door.
Jeno turned to the mirror in front of him and slowly touched the part of his neck where your fingers grazed earlier. It was cold now from the antiseptic you had rubbed, but he could still remember how good the warmth of your touch felt against his skin when you were trying to wash the blood away. He curled his fingers slightly over the area now, leaving half moon marks as his nails dug there.
Oh what he would do to have you touch him again.
-------
"Pretty neat, huh?" You grinned at Jaehyun as he parked the car in front of the manor. You watched as your boyfriend's eyes moved over the impressive facade of the structure in front of him, knowing full well that his architect training is kicking in.
"Not bad. Victorian-era, probably. The stones look old but the place looks pretty well-kept…"
You grinned to yourself now as you leaned back on your seat. Of course you have absolutely no reason to be proud of something you don't own, but you can't help but boast a little at your boyfriend. It is your workplace after all.
Jaehyun turned to his seat now to give you a slightly guilty smile. He sighed before reaching out for your hand.
"Are you sure you will be okay though? I'm sorry about borrowing your car all of a sudden, the timing is just so bad."
You gave his hand a squeeze before patting it with your other. He was supposed to go on a three day business trip away from the city when his car, all of a sudden, just wouldn't start this morning. He wouldn't make it if he waits for the shop to fix it so the both of you decided to just have him use yours for now. At least he has enough time to drive you to work, which is why the two of you now are parked outside the manor, 10 minutes before your first lesson has to start.
"Don't worry about it. I'll make sure to pick up your car later. I'll have the taxi drive me there."
Jaehyun glanced back at the mansion briefly.
"Are you sure you can get a taxi here though? This is pretty far off the main road…"
Well...to be honest, you weren't even really sure about that yourself but he didn't have to worry about it right now. You nodded and reached over for your bag with a smile.
"Yes. Or I'll just ask Taeyong for help if I can't get one. I'm pretty sure they have some taxi companies in contact."
Jaehyun still didn't look convinced but gave you a small nod nevertheless. His eyes were back to studying the house again which made you chuckle.
"Jae, I'll be fine. You have to go now or you'll be late to your conference. Thanks for driving me here," picking up the last of your things, you leaned over to give him a quick peck on the cheeks. He responded by pulling you over for a slightly longer kiss when you tried to move away.
"Yah, Jung Jaehyun. We'll both be late if you don't stop," you whispered softly with an amused tone. He laughed before finally letting you pull back.
"Just getting my fill of it since I won't see you in three days. Call me once you get home later, okay?"
"Mmn. Take care, too. Go get that deal closed," you gave him a wink before finally opening the passenger seat. You watched as he finally pulled away from the driveway and waited until he disappeared again on the long winding road before turning towards the manor again. You were almost at the front steps when the doors finally opened, spilling Haechan, Renjun, and Jaemin out of them. You frowned slightly as you took notice of the canvases they were carrying as you approached the group.
"Hey...are you going somewhere? Class is about to start." You asked curiously, eyes landing finally on the small leather bag that Renjun was carrying. It seems to be full of art supplies.
"We're doing a free art class today, right noona?" The eldest of the trio asked. You nodded, still a bit confused.
"Renjun suggested we do it in the garden since the weather is nice today," Jaemin finally said. "We think it'll be a nice change from the stuffy rooms inside," he slightly jerked his head back at the wide windows of the manor which are currently shut back with thick curtains. You glanced at them briefly too before nodding slowly in understanding.
"Oh… I mean… It's not a bad idea. We can have the first session outside while the sun is still bearable, I guess."
That made Jaemin, and most especially Renjun smile. The boy can be withdrawn most of the time, but you did notice that he looks happiest whenever you do creative classes.
"Thank you, noona."
"No problem. I'll just put my bag inside and then I'll follow you. Why don't you set up your things first?"
You've taken a couple of steps towards the front door already when Haechan suddenly spoke up.
"Who was with you, noona?"
That froze you on your tracks. Slowly, you turned to face the trio again. They saw Jaehyun drive off?
"Oh, that was my boyfriend. He dropped me off today," you said casually with a smile. Haechan leaned his head a little bit to the side in curiosity.
"But he took your car…"
"Yes, he did. His broke down so he had to borrow mine. He's leaving for a three-day trip so—" you stopped all of a sudden, realizing that you're explaining things too much. There's nothing wrong about what you said but there was still a part of you that made you feel a little...exposed. Jaemin, Haechan, and Renjun, fortunately, didn't seem to notice and continued to politely look at you.
"Anyway, I'll just grab a cab to go home," you continued with a smile. "There are some who stop by here, right?"
"Yes. Or we can just ask Taeyong-hyung to drive you. He is the only one who has a license among us," Jaemin offered with a casual shrug.
"Ah, maybe I'll have to bother him this one time if I can't get a cab," you said with a sheepish smile. "Okay, I do have to bring my things inside. I'll see you."
You have already reached the top of the steps before the double doors when you finally realized something. Quickly you turned to the three boys who were just about to disappear to the side of the house leading to the manicured gardens.
"Wait, where's Jeno?"
It was Jaemin who answered.
"Oh yeah. He can't come. He is on bed rest."
You frowned.
"What happened?"
Haechan snickered which caused Renjun to shoot him a reprimanding look.
"He got into a hunting accident," the boy explained as he barely tried to keep his lips from twitching with amusement. "He was foolish enough to get stabbed in the chest by a stag."
-----
You gave the oak wood door a few light taps before drawing your hand back to yourself. You still weren't sure if this is a good idea, and yet here you are standing outside Jeno's room, the expansive hallway making you feel too small and out of place. This is the first time you've been in this part of the mansion since you only ever roamed the lower floors for your classes, and you couldn't help but feel a little strange at the heaviness of the air clinging around you now.
Maybe it's because it is where the private quarters of the boys are, but the corridor was only slightly illuminated by dimmed lighting from the lamps on the walls. Everything was silent, and for a moment you wondered if you got the wrong door that Taeyong gave directions to when you told him you wanted to check on Jeno. You have already taken a step back and was about to turn away when you heard some rustling from inside the room. It was followed by a voice muffled by the thick wood separating you from the other side of the door.
"Come in."
You froze on your spot for a few seconds before finally managing to shake yourself to open the door before you slowly. Peering around it, the first thing you noticed was how big the room was—it looked more like a smaller section of a house than a private quarters. It was dark, but a quick look at it told you that it was mostly bare if you don't count the essentials, which is a simple desk by the side, a long couch, and, in the middle, a four poster bed.
Your eyes landed on Jeno who was looking at you with equal mild surprise. He was propped against the headboard of his bed, the light from the laptop on his lap illuminating his face. You noticed that he didn't have a shirt on, but most of his skin from the right shoulder down to his chest was covered by bandages.
"Hi," you smiled, suddenly feeling conscious now as you stepped into his room.
"Um. Hi. What are you…"
"I heard that you were injured so I just dropped by to check on you," you quickly answered to diffuse any awkwardness that is in danger of settling between the two of you. Jeno blinked, as if processing what you just said.
"Uh… sorry, I didn't realize that I might be disturbing you. I can also just go back another time and—"
"No," He said all of a sudden before you could excuse yourself. Quickly, he closed his laptop and put it away on his side. "You can stay for a bit."
"Oh...great. I uh…" your eyes roamed around his room once again, hoping to find a chair that is closer to his bed. There was none. You figured the couch was the only place you could go to so you started walking towards it, Jeno's eyes on you.
"You can sit here," he suddenly said and you looked up to see him pointing at the foot of his bed. That made you stop before glancing again at the couch at the farther side of his room, something which he immediately noticed.
"It's too far away. It'll be awkward for us to talk if you sit there,” he said, as if he read your mind.
That...makes sense. With a slight nod, you closed the distance between you and the bed instead and chose to sit by its far end.
Jeno was back to watching you as you settled down, his expression curious. You softly cleared your throat.
"How are you feeling?"
He glanced down his chest briefly. "Oh, I'm fine. It didn't hurt as much during the weekend, but I was still told to stay in bed. I can't really move that much yet."
"What happened anyway?"
He scratched the back of his head almost sheepishly and looked away.
"I was trying to hunt a deer. I didn't know its mate was just around the area when I approached it so...yeah."
You winced as your eyes fell on his bandaged chest. You know next to nothing about hunting, but you know enough that an angry stag doesn't spell good news for anyone. Things could have been more serious for him.
"Are you sure that you shouldn't be in the hospital though?"
"Yes. We have a private doctor anyway. I just need to make sure I don't move too much to keep my wound from opening. And I also hate hospitals so I prefer to stay here…"
"You have to be more careful next time, okay Jeno? The forest is such a dangerous place…" you sighed before shifting your attention towards the window at the far wall of his room. He only had his curtains partially open but you could still see a sliver of the woods from where you sat.
Something about what you said shifted something in him. You missed it entirely thanks to the shadows from the room's dim lighting that masked his features, but it was there, hiding in plain sight.
"You take care of us so well."
You turned to him again as you heard him whisper something.
"What?"
Jeno simply smiled. He leaned back against the headboard, as if mulling over something.
"Since noona is worried about me, can you help me change my bandages?"
You blinked. That wasn't something you expected him to ask at all. Before, you figured Jeno to be one of the more withdrawn among the brothers, always with this air of intimidation about him, but lately, he has been throwing you off with these kinds of moments. He isn't flirty like Jaemin or sly and playful like Haechan, but he’s just so...direct. Almost pushy, sometimes.
"I uhm… I don't know. I wouldn't know how to do it, maybe I can call someone and—"
You watched as he already started to undo the bandages on his torso, your eyes growing wide as he started to expose more skin.
"Jeno wait, I think we should call Taeyong for thi—oh my god."
Your words were cut off when he finally let the last of the bandages fall to reveal the cut on his torso. It started from his right chest, a few inches above the collarbone, and ran sideways to the middle where it cut off. Stitches held the skin together, and you could see the darkening sides of the flesh where it broke.
Yet it wasn't only that which caught your attention. Despite the dimness of the room, you could see other marks in his body, old scars that adorned his pale skin here and there. They varied in length and thickness, and you couldn't figure out what might have caused them. Were they from hunting accidents too…?
You immediately turned to look away. You didn't want to seem rude for staring. Jeno, however, seemed unbothered, if not mildly amused. Watching you through hooded eyes, he let you squirm for a little bit first before finally calling for your attention once more.
"Noona."
"Yes?"
"Help me, please?"
The tone he used on you finally made you turn with a slight wince, which only made him chuckle.
"You're not used to seeing injuries?"
"I'm not fond of them. I don't think anyone is."
“So let's get this over with then. I just need you to hold one side of the bandage for me while I wrap it again. It's hard when I do it alone."
You were about to open your mouth to say something again but chose to purse your lips after in the end. With a soft sigh, you finally picked yourself up from your spot by the foot of the bed to move closer to him. Jeno had already uncapped what looked to be a bottle of antiseptic at this point and had started to dab gently at his cut. You tried to watch without wincing too much as he tried to do the job, but it was probably too painful for him to move too much because he was missing a lot of it.
"Hey, just give me that. I'll do it," you asked as you gently took the cotton pad from him. Jeno wordlessly let you take it, eyes closely watching you as you ducked a little to clean his wound. You tried your best to keep your eyes on target, not allowing them to move anywhere else…
"It looks so bad… I'm surprised you can still move…" you whispered, more to yourself than to him as you frowned over it. You completely missed the way the corners of Jeno's lips ever so slightly tilted as your fingers brushed against his skin.
"Your fiance must have never gotten injured before, noona."
Your hand froze at what he said. Slowly, you looked up at him, only to see him smile at you.
"How did you…"
"Oh, Taeyong-hyung told us. He just reminded us to be nice to you or else you might quit. He said you are saving up for your wedding."
You didn't say anything at first after his explanation. There's nothing wrong about it, and it seems very in-character for Taeyong to say that since he seems to be the most worried about the possibility of you quitting. Still, you couldn't help the odd feeling that tugged at your chest, one you tried to shove back as you turned your attention again to what you were doing just so you could escape Jeno's gaze.
"Well… yes. I am saving up for it. But I also enjoy my time here… so far…"
Jeno smiled to himself as he looked down on you, eyes watching your every move.
"We'll behave too, we promise," he said softly that you almost didn't catch it.
"Until then, I'm sure your boyfriend wouldn't mind us borrowing you from him."
----
"Jisung! Chenle! Don't run too far into the forest, okay?" Taeyong called out to the two boys who have already turned on their tails and have started running towards the woods. You watched as the two laughed and pushed at each other playfully before finally disappearing into the forest edge.
Taeyong sighed beside you and let the hands he had on his hips fall to his sides. You turned to him and he gave you an apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry for suddenly asking you to watch over them. I totally forgot that I had to drive the rest to their dentist appointment today," he said with a scratch of his head. You simply shook a hand at him to wave him off.
"Don't worry about it. I don't have any other classes today anyway so I'll just wait here for them. But... uh... are you sure that it is safe for them to play there?"
"Yes. As long as they stay in the right zones. There are parts there where some wild animals might roam around this season but Jisung and Chenle already know that, don't worry. It won't be the first time they'll be going there too. They've been playing there since they were kids."
You nodded slowly, still a little bit unsure as your gaze floated over to the woods once more. If it were you, you wouldn't let them go near it, especially after what happened to Jeno.
"I'll have to go then. I promise I'll be back by 5. Then I can drive you back to town after."
You turned to look at Taeyong once more and gave him a grateful smile. You usually would have declined the offer under normal circumstances, but you honestly think it will be easier and safer for you to just have him take you back later.
"Thank you. I appreciate that."
The other nodded before giving you one last smile. Turning around, you watched him go to the car where Haechan, Renjun, and Jaemin were already waiting. Jeno was still in bed rest, so he is skipping the impromptu trip this time.
You only turned back to look at the woods ahead when you finally saw the black sedan disappear down the road. The forest looked foreboding in front of you, one look at it and you know there is no way you'll venture there in your own free will. With a sigh, you picked up the book you've brought with you and let yourself take a seat by the grass as you wait for Jisung and Chenle to return.
A sudden sharp caw that tore the air made you look up in surprise from the current chapter you were reading. You didn't have any idea how much time had already passed after you lost yourself in your book, but you were surprised to see that the sky had gone red over the horizon as a flock of crows soared from the depths of the forest. You watched as they circled just above the trees before finally disappearing far into the sky. That was when you realized it; it's been a while since Jisung and Chenle left.
With panic slowly creeping into your chest, you glanced at your watch then back at the mansion behind you. Taeyong didn't say anything about a curfew for the two kids, but your own sense told you that the pair should be back before night falls. Your gut told you that you should start looking for them, but the problem is that there is still more than half an hour left before Taeyong said they will return and the only other person left in the manor was Jeno—who can't even get out of bed.
You swallowed. Before you could make any decision, however, a bone-chilling sound floated into the air that made your blood turn cold. It was faint at first, making you wonder if it was just your imagination playing tricks on you, but then it called out again, and you felt your heart drop to your stomach.
It was Chenle. Screaming.
You broke into a run without a second thought.
It took you everything you have not to topple over the uneven forest floor as you wove through the trees. You have no idea where you were going, your mind and vision reeling as you tried to follow the voice. Your skirt have caught countless times on shrubberies and wayward tree barks as you tore through the woods but you kept going, not minding the tears on the fabric and the skin of your legs.
"Chenle! Jisung! Where are you!"
You called out desperately when the cries suddenly stopped. You were only barely aware of your heart thundering in your chest and your lungs burning from overexertion.
No. No. Don't stop screaming. I can't find you if you do.
"Chenle! Jisung!" You called out again desperately as you stopped at the edge of what seemed to be a small patch of land that dropped off to a ravine. The trees beyond were denser than the ones at the edge of the forest and the already fading light of the day wasn't helping the thick canopies above you that rained shadows on where you stood. You looked around and swallowed thickly. Something inside of you told you to turn around and run again but you stayed frozen on your spot, waiting for any sound from the kids.
It took you a few more heartbeats to pick up something again. Jisung's voice sounded far off to your right, maybe about 15 meters from where you currently are.
"Noona! Help! Chenle fell down!"
Your adrenaline jumped into action again.
"Jisung?! Jisung! Wait—Is Chenle with you?” A soft voice called out and you breathed in as you recognized the latter's tone. “I'm coming! Don't stop calling for me, okay, so I can find you!"
You were about to turn away from the edge of the steep ravine you were still standing on when you felt your back hit something hard. Before you could even turn around to look at it, however, a blunt force hitting the middle of your shoulder blades sent you toppling forward, straight into the sharp fall beyond.
You screamed, before everything went quiet as your head hit the bedrock below.

You didn’t understand what people saw in the Avengers. They were annoying and had no concept of personal space.
Or maybe those were just your thoughts. You’ve been living with them ever since quarantine started, finally able to convince your parents that you were capable of living alone, you were an avenger, after all. Well you weren’t really living alone, as the people in question along with your boyfriend, Spider-Man lived with you.
Never were you ever glad that May Parker, the angel, had allowed you two to stay together (without much embarrassment).
Back to the point where you got no privacy. For example:
“Peterrrr” you whined, elongating his name to get his attention. You had been horny all day long, craving some semblance of touch from your extremely sweet, hot, amazing, beautiful boyfriend.
He hummed, not even looking up from the laptop he was typing on. He was laying on his side, so you tried to shimmy yourself between the little space on the couch and him, only to grunt when he wouldn’t move.
So you tried something else, because fuck the Avengers you wanted a dick now.
“Petey petey pie,” you whispered, tracing his abs from under his t-shirt. You knew your trick would work, because you could feel them clench.
“Y/N, not here sweetheart.” He muttered, holding your hand while he continued to ignore you.
Pouting, you huffed and flopped back as much as you could.
“You promised you would be free tonight! Gah you’re such a nerd!” You whined, rolling your eyes when you saw Nat entered the living room.
At first she ignored you both, sipping at her milkshake and walking towards the kitchen.
“You chose me and not Harry remember? Thought you were into nerds not gonna lie.” He smirked, his voice low, the kind that had you clenching without a thought.
“And? Are you questioning my choices? Come on Petey you can do your homework later.” You said.
You climbed on top of him, your foot purposefully catching his dick. By now you were practically on his chest , tracing circles around his nipples.
Smirking, you continued to pepper his exposed neck with featherlight kisses, making sure to moan every now and then.
“Y/N, what are you doing?” He clenched his jaw, huffing to show that your kisses were not affecting him.
“Well you’re being a party pooper, so I’m having mine.” You muttered, voice muffled as you slid your hands inside his t-shirt, scratching your fingers against his chest.
Grunting, he gently pushed you off, sitting up with his laptop on his legs, “Y/N this is important."
Mouth open now, you puffed your cheeks, folding your hands on your chest.
"Can you believe this dude?!” You shouted, looking at Nat while pointing at your smirking boyfriend, “he chooses homework over sex!”

Sipping at your drink, you smiled at the scene in front of you. It was almost half a year under quarantine, and Tony had finally agreed to host a party, albeit an internal one with only the Avengers, and May, now that she was out of duty from the hospital.
“How’re you feeling babe?” Peter appeared, wrapping his hands around your stomach, resting his nose on the crook of your neck.
Sighing, you leaned onto his head, enjoying the way he kissed your neck, caressing your waist with his thumbs.
“I’m good, things are getting normal again, if only the president caught the virus, this country would be a much better place.” You snorted, feeling your back vibrate as he laughed.
“You hate him so much don’t you?” He said.
“He’s hate worthy.” You shrugged, turning around to wrap your hands around his neck, playing with the baby hair on the nape.
Leaning forward, you hummed against his lips, crading your hands through his hair as he pushed you into his chest, fingers playing with the hem of your pants.
“Someone’s gonna walk in on us.” You mutter against his mouth, moaning as his tongue attacks your lips, parting them hungrily.
Swaying with the loud music, you whimpered when he touched your waist, his fingers hot and leaving shocks, your pussy throbbing and gut coiling with anticipation.
Panting desperately, you pulled at his shirt, fingers scrunching in the material as he lifted you up, planting on the counter top as you wrapped your legs around his waist, effectively straddling him. Feeling his muscles rippling under the shirt, gave a throaty moan, huffing due to the lack of oxygen.
Sweat was already coating your foreheads, creating highlights on his cheekbones and reflecting off the lens of his glasses-
“Peter did you see my- Oh! Oh am I disturbing you? Why don’t you use the bedroom though, I don’t think Tony would like if you do it in the kitchen-"
"May! Oh my god-"
”-It’s okay honey, you’re not a teenager anymore-“
Falling off the counter top, you bit your lip, playing with the hem of your shirt, not meeting May’s eyes. You look at your blushing boyfriend, embarrassed at being caught making out in between a party.
"May, just go, please-”
“Um, sorry I was just leaving anyway, you know, I got work to do. Yeah. You both continue.” She smirked, nodding at you and sending a sly wink at you.
Shaking your head, you looked at Peter, twiddling your hands together.
“Sooo, wanna make out?” You ask.
“Yeah. Sure"

3.
The dishes clinked together, the noise echoing in the empty kitchen. Peter moved with agility, hands cleaning the dishes as he passed it to you who were putting them on the rack.
You saw him take a deep breath, biting your lips and gulping. You knew what was coming next.
Peter had always been protective of you, as a friend or as a girlfriend. He protected everyone who he loved.
"I’m sorry-"
"Save it. Take your meds and go to sleep. We’ll talk tomorrow.” He grunted, nearly smashing the plates as you raised your eyebrows.
“Well be careful of the plates, they’re fragile.” You joked, heart beating fast as you contemplate his reaction.
“How are you so chill about all this?! You know you were reckless, and yet you do decide to not acknowledge the fact that you almost died!” He slammed his fist, nearly breaking the plate with his hand, a small piece did break, piercing his skin.
You jumped at his sudden aggression, your own anger building.
“I’m a big girl now Peter, I can take care of myself, I don’t need you to look out for me everytime I go out!” You snarled, curling your fist, “and you’re one to talk you hypocrite! You’re always so reckless during patrols, how is me getting blasted by a bomb in a fireproof suit, reckless when you get hit by bullets on a daily basis?"
"I stopped listening after you said you got blasted by a bomb, you’re not enhanced Y/N, how am I supposed to-”, he said voice cracking, “I love you okay? I can’t - I can’t lose you okay?"
Your chest ached at his hurt voice. Peter had lost a lot in his short life, his parents, his uncle, almost lost Tony. And now you felt bad about making him feel that way.
"I’m sorry Petey.” You said, taking his cheek in one hand, holding his suds filled hand in another, “You’re hurt."
He chuckled, looking at his hand where the broken plate had pierced it. Tony wouldn’t mind one broken plate, he was a billionaire after all.
"Yeah.” He said, sniffing and putting it under the faucet to get off any remaining blood. You watched in fascination as the wound closed up, not even leaving a scar behind as if you were watching a time lapse.
Rolling your eyes, you grinned mischievously, poking his chest with you fingers and snorting as he giggled, pulling you closer-
“Bucky! Give me back my cookie now or I swear to god-"
"Ughhh you guys do this purposely don’t you?” You groaned, glaring at Bucky and Sam as they stop in their tracks, looking at each other and smirking.
“We neither confirm nor deny your accusations.” Bucky said, plopping the cookie in his mouth and walking out of the kitchen as you bang your forehead against the table.
Why can’t people just let you be intimate with your boyfriend for one second?

+1
“Are you sure no one’s gonna walk in, Spider-Man?” You hummed against his lips, moving in slow motions as he caresses your bum.
“If they do, I’ll take care of it.” He rasps, squeezing your bottom and fingering the hem of your shirt shorts.
You were sitting in Peter’s bedroom after a full day of teasing him, because you were horny and desperate. Softly kneading your fingers through his hair, you whined at the feel of his bulge against your crotch, a wet feeling already seeping through those shorts.
Rubbing your hips faster against his, you huff, tracing his biceps and squeezing them occasionally as he moved down with his lips, slipping off your tank top.
“Thought you had super speed.” You grunted, urging him to go faster as he unclasped your bra before looking at you with a smirk, his eyes shining with mirth and lust.
“You were a bad girl today, teasing me every opportunity you got, it’s only fair if I get to do the same.” He said before squeezing your one boob and sucking on the other, a wet pop noise leaving his mouth every time he sucked on it.
Spreading your legs further, you shimmy out of your shorts, lifting Peter’s shirt up to get him out of it before he stopped you.
“Oh no, you’re not-” he started before the door opened with a bang.
“Did you guys-” before Tony could see anything, Peter produced his web-shooters and shot at the door, locking it for at least another two hours.
A muffled, “at least use protection!” Was heard from outside the door. Your face was burning with embarrassment, looking at Peter with an innocently terrified look on your face. He could hear your heart racing, and it was making him like, really hard.
“Now, where to begin.” He whispered, chills shooting up your spine, goosebumps appearing on your skin and the wet feeling intensifying between your thighs.
“Let me at least undress you.” You plead, lifting his t-shirt and unbuttoning his jeans simultaneously.
“No, you were a brat today, and brats don’t get a taste without punishment.” He smirked, flipping you so you hit the backrest, holding your arms up and…webbing You up against the headboard, “today I’m doing all the work."
And you didn’t mind it really. Like, at all.

Your room (Dark!Peter Parker x Reader)

Warnings: Noncon/Dubcon, oral (female receiving), spankings, punishment, kidnapping, Stockholm syndrome, unprotected sex, smut, vaginal intercourse.
Summery: Your life is bland and boring but not for long. What happens when you catch the eye of a certain super hero?
Tumblr media
Your room has always reflected you as a person. In highschool you haphazardly filled the walls with quotes and posters. Your room was messy in the typical way teenagers rooms tend to be, but also like a typical teenager was filled with feeling and hope. In college you filled your space with pictures of you and your friends taken on a polaroid camera. Everywhere you looked had your life staring back at you. Now as an adult the pictures from college are tucked away in a box. Your room is simple and boring. Most people think of you as minimalist but you don’t do it to be trendy, you just have no passion. You’ve spent the years after graduating college working a job you hate in a lab, running the same tests over and over again. You’ve always wanted to be a scientist, working on something new and exciting. You’ve applied everywhere but you rarely even get an interview. Your dreams, unfortunately, will never happen for you. Sometimes you wish for someone to swoop in and take you for your bland life but you know that will never happen. Watching your friends get dream jobs and buy homes while you waste away has crushed your spirit. You’re tired.
---
“Hey Y/N, we’re going out tonight.”
“I don’t know…”
“Come on, you never come with us.”
“Ok sure.”
Your coworker is right that you never go out anymore and so several hours later you walk into a bar, grabbing a drink and finding your coworkers. The bar is bustling with activity and you lose track of time. You usually curl up in bed with a book on a friday night but you’re glad you came. You used to go out all the time in college and miss being social. Going out is good for your mental health and you decide to make more of a point to spend time with people.
You say goodbye to your still partying co-workers and head home a little past midnight. You start your walk and cut through an alleyway, wanting to get home before you vomit from the alcohol.
“Hey sweetheart. What are you doing all alone out here?”
A large man steps out of the shadows and walks toward you. You ignore him, keeping your eyes focused ahead and pick up the pace.
“Oi, I’m talkin’ to you,” He lunges forward and grabs your arm.
“Let me go.” You try to walk away but he holds onto you still, pushing you against the wall and landing a bruising kiss on your lips. His breath smells rancid and you feel bile rise in your throat. You cry out for help and the man is suddenly pulled away from you. You watch with disbelief as Spider man throws the stranger against the opposing wall.
“She said to go away buddy.”
The man slowly stands up and runs away. Spider Man shoots a web at the running stranger and he falls over, immobilized.
“You ok?” Spider Man turns to you, cocking his head.
“Yes, thank you Spider Man.”
“I’ll come check on you tomorrow”
You watch spider man pick up the stranger like he’s nothing and swing away. You walk the rest of the way home and lie in bed, unable to fall asleep. The next morning there’s a tap on your window and you look out to see Spider Man on your fire escape. You briefly wonder how he knows where you live but quickly brush off the thought and open your window.
“You sure you’re ok?” He steps towards you, looking you over.
“Just a little shaken up.”
He walks to your kitchen, filling a glass of water and handing it to you.
“This is too much, really I’m fine. You already saved me.”
“Drink the water,” He commands.
You sigh and drink it.
“That’s a good girl. Now get back to bed.”
You set the glass down and stare at the stranger you let in your home. Alarm bells start ringing.
“I’d like you to leave.”
“I’ll leave once I know you’re doing as you're told.”
Your heart beats rapidly and you take a step back.
“I appreciate that you saved me and came to make sure that I’m fine but I’m now asking you to please go.”
Spider man crosses his arms.
“I’ll call the cops” you say.
“And say what?”
“That there’s an intruder.”
Spider man sighs and walks to your window, standing at it.
“Get in bed and I’ll go.”
You walk to your bed and get under the covers.
“Good girl. I’ll be back to check on you later.”
As soon as he’s through the window you jump out of bed and lock every door and window, double checking your work. You get back in bed and let out a sigh of relief, finally able to sleep.
You wake up to tapping on your window. Spiderman is back. You make your way to the window but don’t open it.
“Let me in.”
“I don’t feel comfortable with you in here.”
Spider Man shakes his head and leaves without a word.
The next few weeks are filled with anxiety. You see flashes of red in your peripheral vision everywhere you go. Spider man is stalking you. You consider telling police but don’t think they’ll believe you. It sounds crazy, even to you. If it weren't for the bruises from the assault in the alleyway you would think you had imagined the whole thing. You stop leaving your apartment unless necessary and never go out after dark.
You get a voicemail one day.
“HI, this is Rebecca Johnson from Stark Industries. We’re looking for someone to fill a position in one of our labs. You had submitted an application previously and we wanted to reach out and see if you’d like to interview for the position. Please call back at your earliest convenience.
You squeal in delight, doing a celebratory fist pump. Stark industries is a dream job. You immediately hit redial and set up the interview. This would change everything. Just one year working at Stark would open up endless possibilities for you and that’s if you ever want to leave. You could afford a nicer apartment with more security. Maybe you will finally feel safe. You remind yourself that it’s just an interview and you shouldn’t get ahead of yourself.
---
You look up at the tower and take a deep breath. It’s intimidating, going for an interview at Stark tower. It’s been so long since you’ve interviewed anywhere let alone somewhere so big. You tug at your blouse, second guessing your outfit, maybe you should have worn something different. It’s too late to go back home and change. You walk in, mustering up all the courage you can and talk to the woman at the front desk.
“Hi, I’m here for an interview. Y/N Y/L/N”
“Oh yes, they’re expecting you. Here’s a temporary badge. Go to the 80th floor and take a seat.”
You take the badge and follow the instructions. You’re surprised to find yourself in what looks like private quarters. There’s a small couch near the elevator and you sit and wait.
Tony Stark himself appears in front of you and your mouth flies open. You stand quickly and hold your hand out.
“Mr. Stark, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Tony looks you up and down, clicking his tongue.
“Likewise, follow.”
You half walk, half run behind him, getting in the elevator and taking it down a floor. You arrive at a state of the art lab and workshop and Tony leads you to a desk.
“The whole workshop will be open to you. This is your desk.”
He starts walking again and you keep following him back to the elevator and to another floor.
“Here’s where you’ll live. I’ll leave you with the contract and you can call my assistant if you have any questions.”
He hands you a tablet and walks out.
You look around the room dumbfounded. You thought you were just here for an interview. You guess this means you got the job. You swipe through the contract and your eyes widen at your salary. There are a few things that make you uncomfortable though. You’re required to live on site and there’s a curfew. You have to sign a NDA about anything you see in the tower. You also can’t decide to quit without permission, which you’re not sure is even legal. You call the number to Tony’s assistant.
“This is Rebecca.”
“Hi, this is Y/N. I’m looking through this contract and it says I have to live on site and there’s a curfew?”
“Yes. That is non negotiable. Living on site will give you access to the workshop 24/7. There will be times when you will work through the night. The curfew is for security as the tower is locked down every night.”
You would rather have your own place where you can come and go as you please but you’re willing to live here if you have to and the reason for a curfew makes sense. The tower has top of the line security, which is something that’s really important to you. You don’t usually go out late anyway and if you do decide to be out late you can crash at a friends house or get a hotel room.
“And the avengers? Will I have to work closely with them?”
“You might meet them or see them at some point but most likely not.”
“I know this sounds weird but I don’t want Spider man to know I’m working here.”
“Mums the word.”
“What exactly will the job entail? I see there’s a NDA.”
“You’ll be an assistant in Tony Stark's personal workshop and will work closely with him. He appreciates privacy.”
“I see, and the part where I’m not allowed to quit?”
“He just wants to make sure you’re serious. Tony picks his assistants personally and requires loyalty.”
“Ok, thank you.”
You hang up and sign the screen. When you open the door there's a man standing outside. He’s not a tall man, standing a few inches taller than you. However, he is muscular and something about him commands attention. You feel an immediate pull towards him.
“Oh, hi I’m Peter Parker.” He holds out his hand.
“I’m Y/N”
“I also work with Tony and live right next to you. I’ll be your direct boss.”
“It’s nice to meet you Mr. Parker.”
“Peter is fine. I won’t keep you any longer, I just wanted to introduce myself.”
You immediately get to work rearranging your life. By the end of the weekend you’re completely moved into your new place and on monday you start your first day on the job. It’s everything you’ve ever dreamed of, full of state of the art technology and free reign to do whatever you want. You walk into work every day with a smile.
You work alone most of the time, Tony and Peter working awkward, sporadic hours but you enjoy it when you do get to work with them. Tony is funny and brilliant, you learn more from him than from any college class. Peter is smart and sweet. He helps you with your work and makes sure you’re always taken care of, sending you back to your room if you’ve been working too long or making you take breaks to eat. You find yourself starting to develop feelings for Peter and your heart swells when he asks you on a date. Life is good and only getting better.
You meet Peter outside of your door and he takes your hand. The two of you walk to a little italian restaurant and Peter takes your menu, ordering your food for you. It’s very forward for a first date but you like the confidence. After dinner he walks you back to your door and kisses you. You see something in his eyes when he pulls away, possessive and dark. It makes you feel uncomfortable but also excited. Nobody has ever looked at you like that.
Over the next few weeks Peter becomes more and more comfortable around you, becoming more physical. It’s small things, like pushing your hair back when talking or touching you gently as he walks past. He asks you out again, this time wanting to cook you dinner and you decline, suggesting a coffee date instead. You don’t feel comfortable enough with him to be alone in his room. He clenches his jaw when you tell him, obviously upset you won’t come over but agrees.
A few days later you decide to go out with some old friends and crash on one of their couches. When you get home the next day Peter is standing outside your door.
“You missed curfew.”
“I know, I went out with friends and crashed on one of their couches.”
Peter clenches his jaw.
“Don’t let it happen again.”
“It shouldn't matter if I want to stay the night somewhere else.”
“Well it does.”
You roll your eyes and unlock your door quickly, locking it behind you. The two of you have only been on one date. His behavior is a red flag and you decide to take things slowly.
The next day you decide to go out for coffee, pulling on a simple tee shirt dress and some flip flops. The elevator won’t let you down.
“Your privileges have been revoked.” Peter says from behind you.
You jump. “Why?”
“You know why.”
He stalks toward you, pushing you up against the elevator.
“I don’t feel comfortable with this Peter. You need to back away from me now.”
Peter takes a step back.
“I’m sorry but right now I don’t want any sort of relationship outside of work.”
“That’s not going to work for me.”
Something in Peter's eyes terrifies you. You need to get out of here. You try the elevator again but it still won’t open.
“I quit.” you yell at the elevator, feeling more danger every second you’re stuck in the hallway with Peter.
“You can’t quit baby.”
“There’s no way it’s legal to force me to keep working even if it’s in the contract.”
“There’s nowhere to go. You’re not getting out of this building and even if you did you’d have to find a lawyer to take your case.”
“You can’t do this, I'll tell Tony.”
“Who do you think suggested this in the first place? Most of the Avengers have gotten their partners this way. I was waiting for the right person and I knew you were them the moment I saw you.”
“Why would Tony help you trap me here? You’re just a lab assistant.”
“Oh no honey, I’m much more than that.”
He steps toward you, caging you in.
“You think it’s a coincidence I saved you in that alleyway?”
“Spider man?”
Peter gives a grin. He leans in and smells your hair.
“No.”
“I’m sorry it’s happening this way, I wanted to break you down slower. You’ll have a really good life, we’ll live together and work together. You’ll have everything you could need or want.”
“I want to leave.”
“You’ll change your mind, you just need a little motivation.”
Peter pulls you to his room and opens the door, pushing you into his apartment. You try to run but he easily catches you, picking you up and throwing you on his bed.
“Why are you doing this? Why me?” you scrabble to the far side of the bed.
“You’re mine.”
Peter's phone rings and he picks it up.
“Hey, yes I did... I know It wasn’t the plan, I had to improvise… Ok, see you in a few weeks.”
He hangs up and gets on top of you. you spit in his face.
“I’m not yours freak. Let me go.”
“You won’t be allowed to act like that moving forward. Now lie still.”
“Get off of me.”
Peter gets off briefly, flipping you over his lap and pulling up your skirt. He lands a smack on your bottom.
“You have no idea how many times I’ve wanted to do this. You’ve been so bad baby.
“Not letting me in your apartment.”
Smack.
“Telling Rebecca you didn’t want me to you started working here.”
Smack
“Staying out all night.”
Smack.
“Shutting the door in my face.”
Smack.
“I liked you Peter, If you had just acted like a normal person we could have continued a relationship.” You say through tears.
“I don’t want a relationship, I want to own you.”
He lands another blow on your bottom and grabs your underwear, pulling them down and off of you. You try to wiggle away but he’s so strong and easily holds you down with one arm. He moves his hand between your legs and towards your sex, pushing a finger in and out.
“You’re wet for me.” He says smugly.
You close your eyes and turn your head away. You’ve stopped resisting and he lets go.
“There you go.”
He kisses your neck and cheek then grabs your chin moving your face and kissing you gently, pushing his tongue into your mouth. He pulls back and you hear him unbuttons his pants, pulling them down. You open your eyes and move away from him, pushing your back against the headboard. You watch as he holds his erection, slowly moving his hand up and down. He moves towards you and grabs your ankle, pulling you down the bed and positioning himself in between your legs. He holds onto your hips and kisses your inner thigh, moving toward your mound until his mouth is on your clit, kissing and licking. You arch your back and throw your head back, fighting against the rising orgasm. Right before you come he pulls back, smiling up at your dazed face. He rises up and slowly pushes his dick into you until you’re full. You whimper as he brings his hand down to your clit, stimulating it.
“That’s right baby,I know what you like.”
You can’t think about anything else anymore, only the orgasm that threatens to take over.
“Come Baby”
You reach out, grabbing his arms as you come. He grabs your shoulders and thrusts deep, filling you with cum before collapsing next to you, pulling you into the crook of his arm.
“Can I go back to my room now?” you ask.
“You won’t be leaving this room until I can trust you.”
“I won’t say anything. You won. You got what you wanted so just let me go.”
“You still don’t get it Y/N. You’re mine now. I know this is a hard adjustment but everything will be fine as long as you follow what I say.”
“And if I don’t obey you?”
“You’ll be punished.”
“Fuck you.”
Peter sits up next to you, grabbing his pants off the floor and pulling his belt out of the loops.
“I guess your first lesson starts now.”
---
You look around the room you live in. It’s no longer the empty minimalist space it was before you met Peter. Now it’s filled with him. Everywhere you look there are reminders of him. The shower has his body wash and razor. There are pictures of him hanging on the walls. Everything you own has been bought for you by Peter. He dictates what you’re allowed to wear, where you’re allowed to go, who can talk to. It’s all him. Every part of your life revolves around Peter to the point where you don’t know what you would do without him. You wake up to him, go to sleep to him, think about him constantly. You’re even sometimes woken up in the middle of the night to him touching you, wanting you. At some point you stop pretending you don’t want him back. You hate it but it’s true.
Your room has always been a reflection of you as a person.

Ooh~ I got somewhat of an angst(/comfort -hopefully??) ficlette request!
Established relationship with Diavolo. He thinks everything is going great. Until one night MC tells him that he makes them feel inadequate.
He's so BIG (they are literally/physically so much smaller than him, man is IMPOSING) and it's not like they have demon stamina/strength. they're afraid he gets bored, or will, in time.
He is SO IMPORTANT to everyone and everything and always so busy and they're just a distraction when he could be resting between meetings or courting with the intent to make an heir and they're just a human, a pretty average one at that, can't even use their magic like Maddi or Solomon
*clutches my gay little heart* I'm weak for giant puppy boys 😢. I love this idea! Hope I did it justice! P.s-hope ya ain’t lactose intolerant like I am, cuz I got cheesy at the end lmaooooo
Edit: 6/15- Here is the link to part 2!
  You feel inferior or inadequate? No, not his little Giglio.
He doesn't see at first. He is observant, sure. It comes with the territory as a prince, but he is so blind when it comes to you.
You're perfect and he wishes your relationship to be just as perfect. He can't explain why. Somewhere deep in the vacuous pits of his hearts, he yearns for your happiness.
He courts you like any demon would. Showing off his strength and magic to a maddening degree. He will lay fresh kills at your feet for you too.
It makes demons and other creatures swoon, but not a great turn-on for humans it seems. Barbatos had to pull him aside several times to remind him that too much magic could kill you, and he was tired of getting blood stains out of the wood floors.
He just wants to prove he is enough to you too. He'll do more human courting rituals as time goes on. Taking you topside to eat at human restaurants or do quaint human traditions.
Even in your realm, he can’t get away from gawking and curious humans wanting to be in his presents. He has the magnetic pull only a devil could pull off.
He doesn't notice your reluctance to be seen with him or sullen attitude till it was almost too late.
Balls are a common occurrence for him. Keeps the royal families in check, strengthens ties, or, some unfortunate times cutting them down in a show of force and warning for the rest of them.
Diavolo doesn't hate these events. They come as easy as breathing to him after centuries of doing it. But the flocking, gawking, and borderline reverent guest did get stifling. Having you on his arm made it bearable. The courtiers at least gave him some distance. Where were you anyway?
The barest flicker of black and gold muslin catches the crown prince's eye. The expensive fabric flitting around the corner of the ballroom to the restricted section. He wasn't worried. Diavolo knew that outfit and the delectable scent of his most prized jewel that wore it. You were allowed anyway you wished. Though he wished you were on his arm right about now. Ah well-
He turns back to his compatriot nodding along politely at the dull topic and takes a sip from his flute. He hums delighted by the fruity dry drink. Honestly, he wasn't sure how many of these he had had anymore. But it was just as sweet and tangy as his first glass. The bubbles ticking his nose and the liquor make his head fuzzy and his stomach hot. Mmm... He would have to complement Barbatos after this was over. His experiments were simply divine. Diavolo excuses himself from his conversation partner politely. He needed another drink if he was going to have a chat as dry as that again and survive. Fresh drink in hand he scans the massive hall for you. You should have been back by now… Odd. Perhaps you had called it a night early? He can't blame you. The redundancy and boring pushes for political power did get old fast. Smiling into his bubbling glass he has half a mind to join you. Sleeping the night away with you in his arms? Hells, he just might trade the crown for a day for a bloody break.
"May I have this dance, your highness?" A petite little incubus bowed low, wrapping his tail around his leg respectfully. Diavolo blinked up from his glass. Ah, yes. The game wasn't done yet.
It takes another three hours of dancing and glad-handing before he could finally extract himself from the ballroom. His feet were sore and swollen in their tight leather confines, his formal attire becoming itchy with sweat. He was ready for bed. No, a hot bath, tea then bed. No. A hot bath with you, tea then bed. Yes, a perfect ending to make up for a sub-par party.
Your shared quarters were dark when he entered. The smoky smell of recently snuffled candles greets him as he slips in. He frowns. The outer chambers looked to be untouched. The hearth cold and empty of ash. Your evening outfit wasn't spewn over the lounge and floor like it normally would be after a ball.
You often retired early from these parties, but you always waited for him here. Nestled up in the furs in front of the fire. A warm welcoming smile ready to greet him as he enters. "My love?" Diavolo calls out to the empty room. He winces at how loud he was. Perhaps he had indulged in his cups a bit too much.
He cocks his head listening for the sounds of running water or your cute little snores. Perhaps you had already gone to sleep? Silence greets him. He begins to panic now. Were you some elsewhere in the palace? Had some oppositional little cretin tried to harm you? He knew some at his party tonight were vying for him to go back to the old ways. Eliminating you would be a prerogative to those fools.
No, Barbatos had his eyes everywhere tonight. The complex webbing of his magic was nigh impossible to circumvent. Diavolo could feel it crawling over his skin, though the feeling was fading now that he was in his private chambers. Lucifer and his brother were ever vigilant too at these parties. As much as they bickered and annoyed his other guest they were skilled watchdogs, and keeping you safe was a top priority to all of them.
He reaches out through the shadows of his chambers searching for you frantically. His magic bleeds into every corner of his large private rooms. The vice around his chest lessens when he senses you on the private balcony. He goes to you, shrugging off his collars and chains as he moves, leaving a forgotten trail of priceless treasure behind him. "Darling," he breathes a sigh of relief seeing your silhouette in the light of his realms many moons. "Was the party not to your liking?" Diavolo flops onto your shared bed with a groan of pleasure. His feet now happy to not have his weight on them anymore. He runs his fingers through the vast expanse of cold silk. It wakes him up slightly. "Perhaps I can make it up to you? I can think of quite a few things more pleasurable than a swarm of stuffy demons."
"You’re drunk Dia." You don't move to face him. Your eyes still upcast to look at the clear evening sky.
His head lolls to the side to watch you curiously. You can feel his eyes follow the trail of your hands while you stroke at the marble railing. His family crest glistening on your finger. "No, no, not drunk. Tipsy perhaps? Or is the word ‘buzzed’ more appropriate?" He chuckles. "Perhaps you could sober me up with a kiss? You always know how to make me feel amazing."
Your breath catches at his words. A pathetic little sob escaping you. He is sober now. Instead of a warm kiss alighting his muddled thoughts to bring the world back into sharp beautiful clarity, it feels as if he had been submerged in ice. He approaches you with inhuman speed. His clawed fingers were gentle on your shoulders.
He turns you to face him. Crystalline tears were trapped in your lashes. Your cheeks were ruddy and your lips were swollen.  In any other circumstance, such a visage would be a privilege to see. But these tears were cold and filled with pain. Lips red hot not by his kisses and fangs, but from nervous chewing and pulling. Your cheeks were streaked and puffy from countless hours spent alone and crying.
"Giglio mio, cosa ti affligge?" He cups your cheeks rubbing the chill away from your skin.
"Why- why do you even waste your time with me?" You hiccup.
“I don’t understand.”
You part from him, backing up to the railing. “What do you see in me?”  You ask, arm raised in question. He takes in your body. You were adorned in his colors and his scent, it makes the territorial part of him rumble in satisfaction. Your delicate human flesh radiates a warmth demons could never replicate. You were small, sweet, and his. What was he missing? “What will happen when you find someone better? Someone who will- who can grow old alongside you. A demon or witch, strong and talented.”
Your wavering words don’t register with him. How could you say these things? Did you think he would allow you to grow old without him? You were his, just as he was yours, or as much as he is able of being yours. It was a laughable thought but he knew to hold his tongue. Humans always get in a tizzy about death.“I don’t-” He starts ready to brush your concerns away. The flash of his perfect teeth only angers you.
“Do not play dumb with me!” You say jabbing a finger at his bare chest. “Look at you. Think of who you are compared to me. Look at how they all cling to you, all those pretty demons and witches with something to offer you.”
Something better than me.
The words hang unspoken between you and leave him stunned. He had so much he wished to say but knew tonight was an inopportune time. Your emotions were running high, too high for him to successfully navigate. Especially in his compromised state. He would have to admit defeat tonight. “I am sorry if I have neglected you and your feelings. Please, let's go to bed. I want- I need to understand. But-”
“You’re drunk.” You repeat chuckling without humor. You wipe at your face. “I get it. We’ll talk in the morning?”
Diavolo puts a hand to his chest. “Of course. You will have all my time tomorrow.”
You wake alone the next morning, the sheets beside you cool but not made. You expected that though. He was never one to stay in bed even on the rare days off. It was the downside of his status and routine.
You rise alone and head to the bathroom, the gargantuan space was still slightly warm and steamy. Good, that means you didn’t wake up too much later than Dia. You shower quickly, washing away the grime of lasts night’s nervous breakdown. You were so embarrassed, collapsing all over Diavolo in jealous self-pity. He had more important things to deal with than some weepy human.
You need to go find him and apologies, tell him not to worry about it. You knew what being courted by him would entail. You swore up and down you could handle it, and you could. You will. This was the worst time to falter too he had some pressing deadlines and important figureheads coming around this week. Even one loose gear in his well-oiled machine could damage any number of things. You refused to be the reason he failed. Steeling yourself, you dress quickly, determined to put your new plan in motion. Apologize, promise to do better, and then hide at R.A.D until you could face him again.
It doesn’t take you long to find your demon. He had been waiting for you. You enter the den in a flurry of movement phones in hand to check with Lucifer to see where the prince might be. “Join me?” His deep baritone makes you jump in alarm. Your phone flies out of your hands to clatter loudly on the tile floor.
Diavolo sits, sprawled out on his couch. His favorite terry cloth robe is tied loosely around his broad figure. He watches you with a growing frown, his strong jaw perched on his fist. You freeze. “Please?” He offers you his free hand. You take it timidly. He grasps you firmly and lifts you effortlessly onto his lap. You rest your head on his strong chest. He smells of juniper berries and oranges. Bright, fresh, and sharp. Their combined scents mixing with his natural musk put you at ease. The clenching panic around your heart easing slightly. You eye the breakfast layout before the two of you on the low coffee table. The banquet was still untouched though you do not know how long Dia had been sitting here. You felt the tiny pulses of magic radiating off the table.
“To keep it warm,” Diavolo answers your unspoken question. He moves you in his lap so he can reach for a plate. Filling it to the brim with an assortment of pastries and warmed jams he hands it to you before filling his coffee cup. “I didn’t know how long you wished to sleep.”
You take the plate meekly. “I-thank you.” You eat in relative silence, eyes locked down on the treccia slowly disappearing on your plate. You were too nervous to look at Diavolo. “When do you have to get back to work?” You ask.
“I don’t-” He adds a hefty dollop of heavily whipped cream to his coffee. “I took the day off.” Your heart drops.
“I’m sorry.”
“Giglio.” Diavolo sighs heavily. He puts his coffee aside to cradle you. “Never be sorry for needing time.” His large hands rest over your thigh and shoulder. “I promised we would talk today, and I am nothing but a devil of my word.” He kisses your crown, his thumbs rubbing your skin comfortingly. “Tell me your worries.”
“What do you see in me?” You blurt out looking up at him. “What could you ever see in a human that you couldn’t get from someone closer to your stature?”
“You have something no other being has ever had before.” He answers effortlessly. He had thought about this time and time again in private. He had lost count of the nights spent in his study stewing over this very topic. You captivated him in a way he still couldn’t fully comprehend.
You scoff at the nonanswer. “What? A soul?”
Diavolo sucks his teeth in distaste. Your voice was so bitter. “Do you think I don’t have a soul?” He counters, smiling ruefully down at you.
“Do you?” You are genuinely curious. Satan had been very upfront with the fact that he didn’t and he was a full-blooded demon. When you had asked Barbatos he had just shrugged.
Diavolo looks wistful for a moment. Golden eyes glazing over as he gets lost in thought. “Who knows?” He admits. “Souls are a precious commodity, true. But such things mean very little to me when it comes to you. No, the thing you have is my trust. You came here with nothing and expected nothing of me but a safe and successful exchange program. There was no social climbing or cloak and daggers with you- or perhaps you are so skilled I cannot see it!” His chuckle shakes you both. “I feel as though you do not see me as just a prince, yet you still respect the title, the authority, and the customs that come along with it. You see what I have to offer and don’t ask for more than I can give you.”
“What will happen when you find that I no longer do that for you? When someone else could do it better and give you eternity along with it?” His words bring you hope, but hope did little when you knew the inevitable outcome.
“Why would I look when I am more than happy where I am?” He dodges your question. He would cross that bridge and bear that cross when you find out on your own.
“But-”
He hushes you with a flurry of kisses across your face, dipping low over you. You squeak as he dangles you precariously over the side of the leather couch. “Come, eat with me.” He says between kisses. “Enjoy a day away from the prying eyes of scorned socialites. Let me show you how devoted I am.” He releases you to pick up a piece of bruschetta. Popping it into his mouth with a groan of satisfaction he turns back to the cooling food, his jovial mood returning. You huff, flicking off a stray bit of diced tomato from his chin.
“Fine- as long as you let me help you catch up on all the work you're missing tomorrow.”

Killers Get Caught: my "a million possible outcomes" story
it's still wednesday! i didn't miss it! @strawberrie-faerie here it is, also @snek-was-taken you mentioned you wanted to be tagged.
The ending is rushed cause its late and i need to sleep in like 5min, but i like it!!
here it is (CW: murder, mention of murder, overall creepiness):
The water is endless blue, like the jays singing in the trees.
I hate it. This hike is one I take every summer, along the winding river, up and down it’s forested hills, and I absolutely hate it. Vivian isn’t with me. She’ll never be with me again.
So why bother?
My hiking boots crush the twigs underfoot, and I remember her sunshine laugh. She always used to get a kick out of how I made sure not to step on any bugs. I don’t do that anymore.
The rushing river’s noise make my blood boil. Normally, there’d be singing. Normally, there’d be laughing. Normally, there’d be three of us, instead of just Maria and I in cold, broken silence.
“Camp night is going great, isn’t it?” she asks suddenly, and I want to push her. I want to see her fall into the cold river water for daring to break the silent truce.
“Sarcasm, I presume?” I reply, not looking at her.
“Why would it be?” her voice is light.
I don’t answer the question. She knows already. Instead, I say, “We’ll be at the cabin soon.”
“Yeah.”
“Watch out for the rocks.” That’s the point, I know, that will be her end if she has one. The rocks, the reminder, those words are the same thing to us.
I can still hear screaming, still see Vivian’s widened eyes when she slips. The river feels louder right now.
We both know I pushed her. It wasn’t an accident. But us standing there, me on the ground and Maria still on the rocks, hoping to save Vivian, meant that Maria knew what could happen if she talked.
I’d already killed my closest friend. I would not hesitate to kill the one I loved less.
~~~
We get to the cabin without a death. That should be normal. It was, but it’s not—not in this timeline. Maybe somewhere else it’s better, across the impossible web that is spacetime. But we’re not there, we’re here, bumping into each other as we step awkwardly through the doorway. I can feel Maria pretending she’s not afraid to sleep in the same room as me. I don’t let my eyes stray from her as we unpack; she looks uncomfortable. Good.
It’s getting dark out now, and I keep my sights directly on Maria as she sits on her bed. She’s past uncomfortable and into terrified. She should be. She should also be thanking every god humanity has thought of that I don’t have it in me to kill someone tonight.
Although, who knows about tomorrow?
I lie in my own bed tonight, staring at the ceiling and thinking only about her. Vivian, my Vivian, sitting at the bottom of the river. Maria is asleep across the room, her breathing slow. I’m trying to sleep, really, but I just can’t. Vivian died a year ago today. Vivian was killed a year ago today. I killed Vivian a year ago today.
My thoughts are stopped by the scraping noise that comes from the window. I sit bolt upright, heart pounding for no good reason. Lots of things make scraping sounds. But… I smell cinnamon.
It’s just a coincidence. It’s just a coincidence. It’s just—
The glass shatters in perfect, heart-stopping silence and she crawls through the window onto my bed.
She’s cold and heavy, her pale skin tinged slightly blue. She smells like the cinnamon perfume she always wore, but beneath that, I can smell other, fouler scents—something rotten, stinking of fish and decay.
“You killed me,” she says. Her voice is flat nothingness.
“It was an accident.” I’m having trouble breathing.
“It was not.” Her teeth are elongating as she speaks. Her sharp fingernails prick into me even through the sheets.
I shouldn’t have come to the cabin this year.
~
Maria wakes up to an empty cabin. She looks around; Thomas is gone. On the floor is a note.
Miss you.
-V.
Maria pockets it. With a self-assured smile, she leaves, all her stuff staying behind. She’d never actually packed, anyway.
Thomas had it coming to him.
Adopting Bangtan 05
01, 02, 03, 04
Jung Hoseok, age 10
For Jungkook’s sixth birthday, you take all of the boys to a water park. You let them run loose to play on the slides and in the pools while you float along the lazy river with a web novel and a whole lot of sun. Every half hour or so, the boys will come find you and take turns floating with you, from Namjoon reading over your shoulder, to Yoongi lounging away from his brothers, to Seokjin rambling on about his friends at school, to Jungkook telling you the adventures his toys have been on (and reminding you about all the toys he still wants). You even let Namjoon convince you to go down several of the slides, and hold Jungkook when he’s afraid to go down one of the bigger slides for small children.
He’s grown a lot since he came to you almost two years ago and has become an endearingly clingy child. All of the boys are, if you pay enough attention. It’s in the way Namjoon calls when you’re even a little bit late coming home, or Yoongi waits for you to return no matter how late it gets. It’s how Seokjin sneaks into your bed some nights after what you know were nightmares but he’ll never admit to it. It’s how each boy does their best to take care of you in the smallest of ways, and take care of each other when you are too sick or exhausted or -- regretfully -- busy to do it yourself. It was how they each say “I love you,” like a promise or a question or a reminder, and it breaks your heart sometimes, because you know they are afraid you will drop them off somewhere or just up and leave and they won’t see you again. Which is why every so often during the day, you send Seokjin funny twitter posts, and keep up your silly emoji war with Namjoon. You remind Yoongi that he still isn’t allowed to drink coffee for breakfast and don’t he dare buy Jungkook any more snacks.
It’s also why you let the boys drag you over to the giant family slide where you hold Jungkook tight in your lap and sit in the absolute worse position for splashing and you ride that slide a dozen times because the kids are grinning and cheering and so genuinely happy that you’ll drown if it’s what they want.
… You hope that’s not what they want.
"I'm hungry,” Jungkook tugs at your hand after the most recent ride. You check the time on your watch, surprised to see that it’s nearing dinner time.
“Okay, boys,” you announce, “you have two choices, and Kookie’s choice counts twice because it’s his birthday. We can eat here and I’ll let you complain about your stomach aches tomorrow, or we can order from Ahjusshi’s. Which one?”
“Here!” They all chorus. You knew that they would, but you wanted to at least give them the choice. You sigh because you know it’s going to be Jungkook and Seokjin who complain the most tonight, but you also aren’t going to stop them from having fun.
“Okay, Namjoon, Seokjin, you two go find us a table. I’ll take Yoongi and Kookie to go order.” Immediately the boys run off, Kookie’s little feet making pitter-patter noises because he refused to wear the shoes the park provided. They were probably lost somewhere and you just wasted a fair bit of money paying extra for them in the first place.
Twenty minutes later, you pass a child sitting alone on your way to get refills. It’s not like you hadn’t noticed the kid before now. He’s been wiping at his face, head swivelling around as if he is searching for someone. He holds the remains of a candy bar in his fist and a drink cup sits abandoned in front of him. You have been acutely aware of the child. He looks like he could be somewhere around Namjoon or Yoongi’s ages, and you are very sternly talking yourself out of investigating. Maybe you can find another parent to talk to him? Better yet, find a park staff who can page the young boy’s parents. It’s actually a good plan, a solid plan, the plan of a recovering impulsive child adopter.
Wow, that sounds bad, even in your mind.
Naturally, your plan takes a hit when you return to your table to find Jungkook sitting in Seokjin’s lap, Namjoon and Yoongi gone.
“Where…?” You begin to ask, just for Seokjin to point to the table with the lost boy. You’re suddenly hit with the thought that maybe you aren’t the serial child adopter, but your first two knuckleheads might be. You also get the feeling that things are not going to go at all the way that you planned.
“He looked lonely. Kookie was going to go over and give him a cookie,” -- the kid giggles at his own joke, -- “but Yoongi and Joonie told him to stay here while they went to see what’s wrong with him instead.” You nod and put down the drink caddy. Tell Seokjin to keep watching the baby and join the boys at the table with the lost kid.
“... and when I opened my eyes, she was gone,” the kid was explaining. “I thought she maybe got lost, but… I don’t know anymore. That was hours ago.” He looks at the bright blue watch on his wrist.
“Do you know what time that was?” You ask. The kid seems to shrink in on himself, suddenly shy. Or maybe scared. He’s a smart kid, if he’s afraid of strangers. It was more than you could say about Namjoon sometimes. After a long moment, in which Yoongi reaches over to hug your waist and Namjoon asks after the drink he asked for, the kid shrugs.
“I don’t know,” he says. “My watch is broken. But I think I remember when you and the really little one over there got… a cake? I remember thinking it was pretty and I was starting to get hungry again…”
“Are you hungry now?” the kid nods his head slowly and you sigh. “Yoongi-ah. Take this and go get your friend something to eat. What’s your name, kid?” You bought Jungkook the cake shortly after lunch time. If the kid had been sitting here this long waiting for his mother to show up… You mentally shiver at the thought of abandoning a child at a crowded water park. Literally anything could have happened, people these days were creeps. This poor child could have been kidnapped or murdered, or drowned. He could have been sold into a human trafficking ring, anything.
“Jung Hoseok,” the kid tells you, barely audible. You reach your hand out to him and try to use the gentlest smile you could muster. Tomorrow, you’ll have to visit the precinct again to tell them about yet another abandoned child. You’ll offer to take him in until the parents are located at the very least, probably indefinitely, like with Jungkook and Yoongi. You’ll take Hoseok shopping and figure out sleeping arrangements and consider accepting that job that will take you across town and maybe even force you to move house altogether, but will ultimately pay more money, which you certainly need. However, tonight you will take the kid home and get him showered and comfortable enough to wear Seokjin's pajamas and tuck him in with the other boys when they pile up in the living room for their birthday sleepover. With the way Namjoon has already taken to the kid (no surprise there) and Seokjin has started fussing, you know there will be few problems getting him settled into your family.
hello! can i request "You didn't do anything wrong, there's nothing to apologize for" for any ship of your choosing? or any AU you want? i just really love how your writing flows, it's so cohesive-- don't take this the wrong way but like. i adore sitting down and actually analyzing your stuff structurally? seeing how it works and weaves together to make a whole just makes the shriveled up eng lit major inside me really happy.
w o o f this one ran away from me a little bit, it incorporates some Things I was thinking of re: forgiveness/webgott last month, and it's bit different than pure H/C but I hope you find something to like in it! Thank you for your lovely compliment~
Yes, it's webgott bc i am chained to The Rhythm
4. "You didn't do anything wrong. There's nothing to apologize for."
He cleared the drawer once more, eyes scanning into its dark corners for any sign of a missed sock, undershirt, some hidden treasure that he had many years ago deemed worthy of being put in the back of the underwear drawer. Raising his brows, Joe shook his head at himself as he closed it resolutely, tossing his bounty into his pack and stuffing the top with the sack that contained his bathroom shit.
Even remembering the days he used to be able to leave the house with just his keys made him want to sigh like a goddamn cow in the summertime. Now he needs the bag, the car, and Web just to go across the bay.
Speak of the devil, Web padded into the bedroom with his usual September expression: weary, exhilarated, slightly frustrated. Wordlessly, he crossed past Joe to the bed and slumped face-first onto it with a groan.
“Done?” Joe questioned, zipping up the bag.
Making a soft grunt of a sound, Web curled his arms around his head. “Done,” he said, face mashed against the bed.
“Well, get to it,” Joe said, stepping over to land a light smack against Web’s ass and grinning at the outraged whine he got in response. “Don’t want to be late,” he tossed over his shoulder as he stepped back out to the hall, making for the kitchen.
Even out here he can hear the sound Web makes, somewhere between a groan and a sigh. “I’ve changed my mind!”
“No you didn’t!” Joe called back, grabbing the butter left on the counter and shoving it in the fridge, letting his eyes make one final sweep around the kitchen. “If you don’t show your reputation won’t ever recover.”
“Your mother loves me,” Web toned, and Joe couldn’t help a snicker as he moved through the hall back to the bedroom, where Web had at least moved to lay on his back, knees up. “She wouldn’t care, she’d probably let me move in with her if you ever kicked me out.”
Rolling his eyes, Joe stood at the food of the bed, arms folded. “Not with Yom Kippur, you’re not allowed to fuck around. She was happy you said you wanted to come, you don’t want to disappoint her.”
Heaving out a long breath, Web folded his hands behind his head, eyes lowered as he peered down at Joe. His knees tilted just so, his lips quirking, and Joe could see the fucking thought forming in his head before he had a chance to open his mouth.
“No.”
“We have time,” Web said, extending one leg to poke his toes into the left side of Joe’s stomach.
Clicking his tongue, he took hold of the other man’s ankle, giving it a soft pull and smiling in satisfaction as Web tried to pull it back to no avail. “If you think I’m going to miss my last fucking meal just to fuck you then you have another thing coming, alright?”
With a disgruntled twist of his lips Web pulled his leg in again, a little jerk that ushered Joe down onto the mattress as well. “You weren’t this dedicated last year,” he noted lightly, free of the reproach that might have accompanied the words if his family had said them.
Shaking his head, Joe decided to throw Web a bone and settled beside him, at least staying up on his elbows. “Different places,” he said simply.
Web looked up at him fondly, hand coming up to smooth over Joe’s hairline, sweeping it back and trailing behind his ear. “So, how will we spend tonight, then?” he asked quietly, eyes still following along where his hand moved. “If not in bed.”
Breath going slow with the contact, he tilted his head into the touch contentedly. “Well, tonight we’re going to eat like kings, Rach will probably be trying to get drunk in the pantry and hoping nobody notices, we’ll sleep in the attic, then tomorrow we spend a lot of fucking time at the synagogue.”
“And we don’t eat,” Web stated, assured.
“No eating, no drinking,” Joe nodded, brow furrowing at the sight of an eyelash on the other man’s cheek, reaching for it mindlessly.
Humming, Web closed his eyes to accommodate him. “Does this have a corresponding Catholic holiday I can retrofit in my mind?”
“I don’t know, you guys got a day where you feel really guilty about everything?” he asked, presenting the lash to Web balanced on the tip of his finger.
Blinking, Web frowned thoughtfully. “Birthdays.”
“Make your wish, you prick,” Joe grumbled, holding back his smile as Web grinned up at him, pausing momentarily before blowing the lash away into the room. Indulgently, he moved in closer, cupping the warmth of Web’s face in his palm and looking down on him with a feeling as close to serenity as he ever has here, in their bed, the sunlight coming in through their window.
Web returned his gaze, his own hand tracing along the back of Joe’s neck. “Do you confess?”
“Sure.”
“Alone?”
“All together,” he corrected, absently rubbing at the spot on Web’s cheek where he had plucked the lash. “You recite it, while you do this,” he said, shifting gently to bring his hand down to Web’s chest, knocking gently against him, just above his heart, with a loose fist.
Web watched his fist, a bemused smile growing over his lips. “Why?”
Settling his hand over the spot, Joe rubbed gently at him. “To punish your heart.”
Smile stilling over his face, Web absorbed his words with quiet interest, eyes floating down along Joe’s neck to the dark burrow of his chest where it pressed against the bed. “Isn’t the sinning hurt enough?”
Trust Web to try to loop him into a conversation about semantics of all fucking things. He must be more anxious to start his classes than Joe thought. “I don’t know,” he half-shrugged, eyes on his own hand over Web’s heart. “If you’re the sort who doesn’t like hurting people, maybe.”
Web nodded, accepting, smile turning more wistful, thoughtful “That’s nice, to be able to get it all out of the way at once.”
“What, you turned in a paper late?” Joe teased.
Flicking behind Joe's ear, Web looked up at him balefully, just a touch of that familiar humor at the edge of his mouth, like a dimple made of light. “I’d apologize to you, obviously.”
Huffing out a surprised laugh, Joe looked discerningly down at him. “You got something you want to tell me?”
“Don’t be stupid,” Web shook his head softly, hand curling around his neck once more and seeming to anchor him down even further, their faces close enough to see the earnest upset around the angles of the other man’s eyes. “You know.”
Web does this. Likes to see monsters where there are none, invent storm clouds heading for them, and it makes him behave like a child sometimes and a man others. He’s a contrarian, down even past his bones and into the dust of the universe that lived in his being, it is an unchangeable fact. Telling him that there’s nothing to worry about accomplished nothing at the best of times.
Not that it’s ever stopped him trying.
“You don’t have to apologize to me for a fucking thing,” Joe rebuked solidly, hand moving from Web’s heart to his head, fingers resting just north of the delicate point of his hairline. “Sincerely.”
“I do, I…” Web parried, eyes unyielding where they looked up into Joe’s, somehow free of the sort of conflict he contained when he started thinking he and Joe had different opinions. “I know that this isn’t easy, dealing with me. And you do,” he continued, and this close he can see the way his eyes are stuck on his lips, the thought filling him with affection. “And you’re amazing.”
Giving in, chest bowing in like the hull of a sinking ship, he caught Web’s lips with his own, a hot smack of a thing that stole his breath, gave it to Web, who in turn gave it back to him better, better. “You don’t have to apologize for living, doll,” he shook his head, their nose practically knocking. “That’s not the point.”
Web didn’t seem soothed by the kiss, still appearing occupied with some train of thought that sought to carry him off and away from Joe’s eyes. “I still think of it sometimes, you know.”
Joe frowned. “What?”
“That day,” Web said, as though it should be evident.
He has to pause and think. They’ve lived a lot of days together, not just these ones that they’ve spent in this apartment, but the ones they spent as voices over the phone, words on a page, men in uniforms hiding from each other like chameleons. How is he meant to know which day Web means from the thousands they’ve had?
Looking down, the blue of Web’s eyes reminds him absently of Austrian skies. Mountains.
Yes. He knows.
“I think sometimes I should apologize to you and never stop,” Web said gently, managing to keep hold of Joe’s eyes as they blinked back and forth and back and forth into the memory.
He hadn’t thought about that day in a long time. Which isn’t to say he never does, but it’s been a time. If he concentrates he can still feel the sun on his neck, the unnatural sweatiness of his palms, how his face had somehow felt cold, waxy. Picturing the house, the dark guts of it with the man inside squirming like half-digested meat, still fills him with the primal sort of rage that only visits him in his dreams. All around the periphery of the memory is Web, that day he had decided that whoever David Webster was he wanted no part of it.
“It’s in the past,” he excused weakly.
Web pulled in a short breath, face carefully open. “I know it is.”
“So let it be.”
Frown deepening, Web’s brought his eyes back down, and even this small departure felt like shrapnel. Joe combed through his hair, rubbing at his scalp, jostling him enough to win his eyes back. Web opened his mouth, struggling, before settling into the intention. “Do you still think about it?”
“Of course,” he said dully, voice still caught somewhere in his memory.
“Do you ever think I owe you an apology?” Web asked, voice quiet and eyes steady.
The question drops through him like rain. He’s thought of that day hundreds of times, thousands. When he lets his mind walk back up that hill, shining in the sun like the cover of the storybooks his mother would read to him, it isn’t Web he’s thinking of. He thinks of a forest of trees, of the way that one can become millions, and those millions become legion. That day had been about a lot of things, he hadn’t ever intended for Web to be one of them.
Web has apologized to him in too many ways to count. But this memory is deeper than they are, the kind of wound that might close over but will still carry a piece of metal, even smaller than a sliver, nestled inside of them both.
Web gives him grief, for better and for worse. But he gives him peace, too. That’s all the apology he wants.
His silence has drifted over the room like fog, but Web looks at him with the sort of clarity that only a few years ago made him feel like a bug on a pin, but now simply makes him feel known.
“I’ll punish my heart for forgiveness tomorrow,” Web said softly, smile turning up his lips, hand against Joe’s neck.
Huffing, Joe shook his head, taking up Web’s mouth once more, briefly. “You have it,” he rasped, kissing just the corner of his lips, and then the soft heat of his cheek. “You’ve had it.”
Web smiled into the kiss, leaning up to press a matching one to Joe’s own cheek. “Good.”
Swallowing, he followed Web back down, their faces close. “Will you accept mine?”
A disbelieving laugh rumbled up Web’s throat, his head giving a dismissive shake as he gave Joe’s neck a hard rub. “You didn’t do anything wrong,” he criticized, eyes bright, cheeks flushed. “There’s nothing to apologize for.”
But they haven’t always been that lucky. This sort of luck isn’t a permanent state of being.
“I don’t know,” he muttered, before pausing momentarily. “Let’s say you forgive me for the first sin I haven’t committed yet.”
Laughing, Web took his hand from Joe’s skin, holding it up beside them in some offering. “Deal.”
“Deal,” Joe confirmed, taking his hand, giving it one firm shake, enough to gather up Web’s laugh, before bringing it to his lips and laying a kiss across its back. “Now come on, let’s go.”
“FUCK” In your brief moment of panic you forgot where you were. You cringe and look at the nurses, trying your best not to look like you were gonna be sick. “Sorry ladies, didn’t mean to yell.” No point in offering an explanation. You wouldn’t be able to tell them anything anyway.
As you very impatiently wait for your blood results to come back you check the tacky red cell phone you have to keep with you at all times. You had put it on silent since you were in the doctor’s office and you were glad you did. Taking a quick look at your screen had your stomach dropping into your ass.
M.M: Gonna move my appointment up to today.
M.M: You better get ready. I’m not happy.
M.M: I’m sure you saw the postings. Number 36.
M.M: I made sure to pay for any accidents in advance.
M.M: I’ll see you tonight.
Why does he have to be so fucking horrible? Accidents my ass.
The messages make your skin crawl, you should have figured the hero rankings would piss him off but honestly you never paid enough attention. With a heavy sigh you opened up your web browser and pull up the list.
“Number 36...number 36…. Number 36…” When you finally reached the hero you were looking for, you let out a sigh.
Hero Ranking Number 36: The Rainy Season Hero Froppy
Well at least you had her outfit already, for some reason she was one your client asked for a lot. Not that you wanted to ask him why, not with the way his black eyes looked whenever he saw you dressed up like her.
I don’t know if I should feel glad that he isn’t actually taking this out on her. Or upset that I’ve had to deal with this for months.
“L/N, Y/N?” The doctor walks up holding their clipboard and closing the privacy screen. Your file almost too much for the metal clip at the top. “Your test results came back negative and your burns seem to have healed very well. I would tell you that any strenuous activity should be avoided but we both know you can’t do that.”
Their poor attempt at humor had your stomach rolling. “Haha anyways Doc, I think I’m gonna need another medkit to take home today. I can schedule my next appointment online, right?”
You can’t handle the thinly veiled pity in their eyes and look down, reaching over to your side to grab your purse. You hear them moving around and a dark blue plastic box is put on your lap.
“If I remember correctly this is your favorite color, right? You are able schedule an appointment online but if you would like I can schedule it for you. How about in two days? Afternoon work for you?”
You look up after clutching the kit to your chest, you know they are just trying to be nice. All of the nurses are especially nice to you and as endearing as it might be to some people, to you it just feels dirty.
“Afternoon is perfect, thanks Doc.” You get up and walk towards the privacy screen. Before leaving you stop for a moment “Blue ismy favorite color.”
As you make your way back to your living quarters you scroll through the internet looking at every picture of the Pro-Hero Froppy you can find. Your quirk can project a person’s desires onto your body by reading them in their eyes. It’s easier when the person has a clear view of what or who they want. However, your client’s desires are such a jumbled mess that it’s easier if you know what it is beforehand.
Hopefully, I can act like her enough that I don’t have to look at his desires this time. I can’t stand how disgusting they make me feel.
You pass by a few familiar faces on your way back to your rooms but don’t pay them any mind. They in turn leave you alone, most of them knowing that when you have that look on your face you were in a mood.When you first were offered a position at the brothel you thought it would be easy money. You had been stripping for several years, known for how you looked different to everyone who saw your dancing. The beautiful, enchanting, flexible Erised. You had built up your quirks ability to be able to project almost a full clubs worth of desires. Sure, it caused extreme fatigue and chronic migraines but the money you raked in was well worth it.
A few months ago
After an especially successful night a patron walks up to you after you leave the stage.
“I have a job opportunity for you, courtesy of my employer.” He hands you a card you read “Heroes Consulting Agency” in bold silver letters.
“I’m a stripper hun, not sure I can do the type of consulting you’re looking for.” You go to hand it back, but they put their hand up.
“I’m afraid I must insist, why don’t we treat you to lunch and you can listen to our proposal?”
You put your hand back down and study them. They are dressed in a white button up with a vest, definitely out of place in a strip club. You would look in their eyes, but they didn’t really have any, their whole body seemed to be made of dark smoke. You don’t work in the nicest of places so someone with their kind of full body quirk isn’t unusual.
“Alright, I give. I’m not really one to pass up free food.” The rational side of your brain is telling you that you have more than enough money to buy your own food but the stingy part telling you to take it while you can is a little louder.
“Excellent choice Miss Erised. Someone will meet you at the address on that card tomorrow at around 5pm? Should give you enough time to recover from the side effects of your quirk.” They give a slight bow and walk off towards the exit, a large something getting up from a seat and following closely behind.
Sam, one of the waitresses walks up to you with a tray filled with drinks. Her normally short stature elevated with high heeled leather boots. “Did you know that person Y/N?”
Oh man, I do not have the energy for this.
You turn to her and survey the tray before grabbing something that looked like a fruity cocktail. “No, but they offered me a job. Gonna go have lunch with them tomorrow.” Sipping from the glass you tuck the card into your bra, making sure to not show it to the girl.
“That’s weird, don’t they know you’re a stripper? What is someone dressed that nicely want to hire you for? Also did that person look familiar to you or is that just me?” Any normal person wouldn’t be able to keep up with her unending questions, but you had known her for years. The tray in her hands tips dangerously to the left but she balances it out without a second thought.
Guess she does have to be quick on her toes to be a waitress at a strip club.
“They were here for my dance so yes they do know, either way I’m getting free food so…”
She huffs, aware of your attitude for anything “free”.
You finish the drink and place the empty glass back taking a couple bills from your bag and tucking them into her apron.
“Thanks for the drink Sam, but I gotta leave before my headache hits.” You walk off before she can say anything further. You really wanna be nice to her but her endless energy really gets on your nerves sometimes.
By the time you make it to your modest apartment, you can feel the pain starting behind your eyes. You drop your stuff by the door without turning on any lights and walk to the box safe hidden in the kitchen. After you make sure all the money is secure you grab a glass of water and head to the bedroom. The bottle of pain killers already set out on your nightstand. You should really take a shower but for now, you strip down, take a few pills, drink the whole glass of water, and lay down. It takes a while for the pills to kick in but once they do you finally fall asleep.
When you finally wake up the next morning your headache is gone, and you have to piss like no one’s business. You grumble as you stretch your tight sore muscles and get up to go to the bathroom. After taking care of business, you get into some light clothes and walk into the kitchen to make some food. Thankfully, you had some leftover rice and spam in the fridge, so you pop that in the microwave. You put the kettle on for some green tea and down another glass of water as it heats up.
Remembering the offer from yesterday and the promise of free food you pad over to your pile of things by the door and grab their card. It’s sleek looking with a plain black background and silver lettering. The address isn’t something you recognize right away so you look it up on your phone.
“What the fuck?” Why is this place in a business park?
You scroll down and check the street view; the building is a high rise surrounded by a mostly empty parking lot. The entrance of the building is blurred, probably to keep the privacy of anyone entering or exiting.
“Well, I guess it’s a nice gig. Better dress the part.” Or maybe you’re gonna get murdered.
“Wow, I really have to stop watching all those true crime shows.” You put the card in your wallet and head back to the kitchen. The microwave beeps and the kettle whistles shortly after. When you’re done eating you put the dishes in the sink to soak and head to the bathroom to finally take a shower.
By the time you have finished showering the whole bathroom is filled with steam and your body has a pink flush to it. You open the door to air it out and finish cleaning up for the day. Your outfit consists of your nicest jeans with ankle boots, a long sleeve blouse and a dark cardigan. You grab one of your smaller over the shoulder purses and leave your apartment.
One of the things you allowed yourself to really splurge on was a car. Public transportation was not as reliable as it could be and with your hours not the safest either.
By the time you make it to the building the sun is starting to set, giving the sky beautiful pink to blue coloring. As you park and get out of your car a young woman walks up to you.
“Welcome Miss Erised! Please follow me and I will escort you through the building.” The woman’s blonde hair is in two messy buns, her face childlike. Her voice was high pitched enough to grate on your nerves a bit, but you ignored it.
As you follow the person through the lobby you take a glance around. Looks like a high-end hotel lobby. There is a front desk area with a marble counter top, women that are dressed in matching button ups with their hair up in buns or ponytails. Random potted plants and small trees dot the area, and a nice chandelier hangs in the middle of the ceiling. No one besides the women at the front desk are in the area.
“Doesn’t seem to be busy right now.” You didn’t even really mean for her to hear you, but she did, and you sounded like an asshole.
They turn their head slightly with a knowing smirk. “It would seem that way wouldn’t it?”
Conversation halts while you stand in the elevator which you were thankful for. They had chosen a floor close to the middle of the building, which gave you just enough time to rethink your life choices.
By the time you got to your floor you are tired of the silence. Normally you hate small talk, but you figured you would give it a shot. “Do you like your job?”
The woman turns to you and smiles, here canines peeking out a bit while shrugging her shoulders. “It keeps me busy, plus I get to make so many friends.” The gleam in her eyes flashes menacingly for a quick second, you decide to pretend you didn’t see it.
As you get to the end of the hall, she opens a door and gestures you inside, closing it behind you. There is a nice desk to the left of the door, other than that the room is sparce. The person sitting in the chair has quite an eclectic look about him. Grey hair parted to the side, shrew eyes behind circular wire rimmed glasses, a gold chain peeks out from the slightly open white button up with a purple blazer. He reeks of cigarette smoke the evidence of his habit tossed into the half-filled ash tray on the desk.
“So nice of you to join me Miss Y/N. Why don’t you have a seat, we can talk about your new position.” He gestures to the only other chair a smirk on his face that shows of his missing tooth.
“I haven’t accepted the job yet Giran, and I thought I told you I don’t want to work for you.” You aren’t used to seeing him in this type of place. But you do know him so there is no need to put on a show. You lean back in the chair and cross your arms.
“How rude of me, you won’t be working for me, but I have been given authority to hire for this company.”
You don’t bat an eye; most large companies use outside help for hiring. “What is this position you would like offer me?”
“This company provides heroes with a way to alleviate their… desires in a safe and discrete way.”
“So, you hire prostitutes for heroes to have sex without worrying about anyone telling the press about it.”
“That is correct.”
“I don’t know if your just stupid or if you forgot but I’m a stripper not a hooker.” You sit up in your chair fully ready to leave the room.
“They would provide you with a fully furnished apartment, medical coverage with 24/7 access to their fully trained medical staff. Any cash given to you by your clients you can keep, however they would take a percentage out of the money they initially pay for your services.”
“Let’s say I’m a little interested, how much is the initial pay for my services?” You want to deny the offer, nothing wrong with having sex for money but it isn’t really your thing.
Giran doesn’t answer right away, instead putting out what is left of his cigarette only to pull another one out of his blazer and lighting it up. “The starting hourly rate is $2,500 an hour, they would take 30 percent from that.”
Holy shit, that’s as much as I make in a day and I would be making it an hour? You keep your face neutral but something in your eyes must have tipped him off.
“You would start tomorrow; most clients keep a contract with their favorite employee and we actually have someone lined up for you already. He has extremely specific tastes and you are the perfect person to fill in.”
“I’ll have to talk to the club owner; would it be possible to start later?” You don’t want to seem to eager, especially not in front of him.
“I don’t see that as a problem, they can give you one week but that’s it.”
You stay silent, making it look like you’re thinking about it. After a moment you lean forward in your chair and stick your hand out. “Sounds like a deal to me.”
Giran grabs you hand and gives it a firm shake. “If you ever need help or have any questions call the number on the card. Now I believe you were offered dinner, let me take you to one of my favorite places.”
You let his hand go and rise from the chair. As Giran comes around the desk and walks towards the door, he stops for a moment and turns to you. “Welcome to the team.”
Dinner was actually genuinely nice; the food was good, and you were able to have a comfortable conversation with Giran. Of course, he didn’t tell you anything about himself, but you had no problems with that, you didn’t wanna share anything to personal about yourself either. He dropped you back off at your car after dinner and shook your hand again before driving off.
By the time you got home you had decided what you were gonna tell the club owner and mentally packed your apartment. Not wanting to take all of your things you moved most of it to a secure storage facility. Having had it for a few years already in order to store the overabundance of clothes you owned.
After the week was up you had quit your job and packed all of your belongings. You realize you don’t know where you are supposed to go so you pull out the card and call the number.
“Hello, how can I assist you?”
“Giran never told me where I would be moving my stuff to. Could you give me the address?” You pick at your nails while waiting for him to answer.
“Of course, Miss Erised. Will you be needing any assistance for your move?”
He sounds so polite; I wonder if he is always like this.
“No, I’ll be fine on my own thank you.”
He gives you the address and let you know that you can call if you need any additional information.
“Good luck Miss Erised.”
Tumblr media
When you get back to your apartment you immediately go into the shower and wash up, using the tea tree oil that Froppy had said she uses in an interview.
I don’t understand how people can like this stuff, but he gets easier to handle if I smell like those women.
When you are done you towel dry your hair and make sure to lotion your whole body. When your hair is dry enough you straighten it and leave it down. He likes it better when its down.
You go to your closet and rifle through until finding the very skimpy version of Froppys hero costume. All it really has in common with the original is the tan harness and the green with black and yellow stripes. Otherwise, it is a one-piece bikini without a crotch. You grab your black leather over the knee boots and get dressed. After checking the time, you give yourself a moment to mentally prepare.
I hate this, I hate him. Disgusting filthy little bug. A false hero, a plague. I can’t wait to leave this place.
Standing in the middle of your room you close your eyes and take deep breaths, allowing your consciousness to drift. You have found that the best way to endure these sessions is to detach yourself from the situation. Only focusing on the absolute necessary and maintaining the effects of your quirk. Giving yourself another minute to get into character you walk to the door joining your apartment to the “service room”.
Thankfully, he hasn’t shown up yet, you shut the door hearing the lock click into place, the door seamlessly vanishing into the wall. Sitting on the edge of the bed you face the door that Mineta will walk through and wait.
No matter how many times we do this I never lose the feeling of wanting to vomit while bathing in bleach.
When he walks in you see that he is wearing his hero costume, as atrocious as it is. He never really deviated from the original design. You immediately start your performance.
“Mineta? What am I doing here? kero” You clasp your hands together in front of your chest and look around frightfully.
“Hello Tsu, what a pleasant surprise to see you here.” He walks up, taking off his gloves and throwing them to the side.
“I don’t understand, do you know where- “Your sentence is cut off, pain in your cheek sharp and hot.
“I don’t believe I gave you permission to talk Miss thirty sixth hero.” He stands there with his hand still up as you cup your cheek and look up at him, the tears in your eyes real. He pulls his hand back again as if to slap you and you flinch.
“Good girl, now finish taking off my outfit for me.” Mineta walks back a few steps and holds his arms out. Your fingers are clumsy as you take it of piece by piece.
Mineta abruptly grabs a fist full of your hair and yanks your head back. You grab his hand with both of yours trying to ease his grip.
“Do you think if you do it slow enough, I’ll get bored and go away?” He pulls harder. “Huh? You really think you’re gonna get out of this don’t you.” He tosses you towards the bed and you scramble to get back on your feet.
The tears in your eyes have started to spill over and you start babbling. “Please let me go Mineta, I don’t know what I did but please pleasejust forgive me kero. I won’t tell anyone about this just please don’t hurt me kero.”
He doesn’t answer you, just finishes taking off his outfit before he is walking towards you again, a vicious gleam in his beady eyes.
You back up until the back of your legs hits the bed. You open your mouth to speak but before you can utter a single word, he slaps you again.
“I told you not to speak unless I told you to once already. Now I’m gonna have to punish you, aren’t I?” He shoves you onto the bed and follows, using his knees to push your legs open he sits up and gives himself a few pumps.” No need to prep you, I want this to hurt.”
You are sobbing at this point, your hands covering your face when you feel him push into you. A scream rips out of your throat and you reach forward to push him away.
“You know Tsu, these meetups have been the best. I’m thinking next time I will find the REAL you and have even more fun.” He closes his eyes a leans his head back, fully immersed in only getting himself off.
To engrossed in his own world, he doesn’t realize that you have gone still. Your tears have stopped, and you have pulled your hands back from him.
DISGUSTING
“Find the real me?”
VILE
You break character, bringing your full consciousness back. You voice is just a whisper at first, so he doesn’t hear you, doesn’t stop thrusting.
FALSE HERO
“Find the REAL me?!” You are screaming at him now.
He finally stops, hearing you the second time. For a second you see fear in his eyes before they fill with rage.
MONSTER
“Hey! You better start doing the job I paid you for, I don’t come here for you to question me.” He lifts his hand up, as if to slap you again. Before his hand comes down you grab it, squeezing until he yelps in pain.
This job is over, he isn’t worth keeping around anymore.
“You think I give a shit about a little piss ant like you?!” As you sit up, he yanks his arm away and pulls out of you. Stumbling back, he starts shaking a finger in your direction.
“You can’t talk to me like that! You’re just a whore!”
You dart forward before he can put more distance between you and grab him by the neck. As you pick him up you snarl and let your quirk fade away.
“I may be a whore but I not a monster like you. You are just a fake hero, a plague on this world and I will get rid of every single one of you.” You throw him onto the ground still holding on to his neck and squeeze.
Tumblr media
“In other news, Minoru Mineta also known as the pro hero Grape Juice has gone missing after several videos of him have gone viral. He was last seen leaving a brothel that has requested to remain nameless. The videos contain triggering scenes of the pro hero having relations with a prostitute while she is dressed in various hero suits the resemble his old female classmates. He even refers to them by name. The videos contain triggering images, and it is recommended to not seek them out. The original videos have since been taken down but are reuploaded onto the internet on several other sites. The prostitute shown in the videos has also gone missing. Any information on the whereabouts- “
The T.V. turns off, the voice of the news anchor no longer filling the dimly lit bar. The people present remain silent for a moment before a man with burns all over his body starts to laugh.
“You could have really fucked that up Doll. Good thing we got enough evidence.” You sneer at him, making sure you change your appearance to match your own desire. He flinches when he sees his own face.
“I wish you had cut him! There wasn’t enough blood to keep his appearance up for awfully long!” The young woman with two messy blond buns in her hair twirls a knife around.
“I’m terribly sorry Toga, but I didn’t have anything sharp with me.” You pick at your nails and look over at Kurogiri, who is busy pouring a glass of whiskey for Dabi. “Do I get a break after this one or do you and boss man have another gig for me?”
Red and green everywhere, the same songs playing in every single store, silly little decorations in every nook and cranny. Yup, it was official. Loki hated Christmas. He couldn’t even place his finger on why, exactly; he just did. So, naturally, this was his least favorite time of year. Sadly, none of his teammates seemed to share that sentiment.
Loki walked into the common room only to hear the same carol that was playing in the last shop he’d visited. He gritted his teeth against the sound of his brother signing along. The Tower was just as heavily decorated as the rest of the city. If there was a Christmas-field version of something, you could bet one of the Avengers had bought it. And if they hadn’t, it was just a matter of time.
At least the sweets constantly being baked weren’t entirely despicable. Though, admittedly, even his notorious sweet tooth was getting a little sick of them. Right now, he could smell the aroma of gingerbread wafting from the oven. It made him consider skipping the cup of tea he was currently on his way to get, but he knew he needed it if he had any chance of calming down. He was glad he’d decided to go to the kitchen after all when he saw you were the one baking, flour smeared on your apron and face in an adorable mess.
The poor God of Mischief was still rather isolated from everyone else. He was trying, but by the time any of the Avengers had gotten over his past wrongdoings, he was sour towards all of them. It was hard to want to be friends with people who spent the first six months of his living in the Tower scorning him. It was also hard to call a place like that home. There had been one shining beacon of beautiful light during those early days: you.
“Hello, darling,” he greeted, heating up the water for his cup. “Those cookies smell divine.”
“Oh! Hi Loki,” you exclaimed, turning around, not having heard him enter. “And thanks. Do you want to help us decorate?”
“That depends on who exactly ‘us’ is.”
“The whole team.” He made a small hum of acknowledgement and blew on his scalding drink. You frowned a little, knowing full well that he distanced himself because of how they used to treat him. But you also knew they wanted to change things, they just weren’t entirely sure how. “It could be a great bonding opportunity. Plus, I’ll be there, obviously, but so will Peter and Bucky. Doesn’t it sound fun?”
Besides you, the trickster god found some companionship in the two aforementioned Avengers. They’d come after Loki had, and Peter’s endless optimism had won him over. As for Bucky, he had gone through much the same that Loki had, their common pasts bonding them quickly. Unfortunately, all his friends loved this despicable holiday.
“Perhaps another time,” he finally replied. “Next year.”
“Ok,” you sighed. “You’ll at least watch movies with us tonight, right?”
“I do not know. Perhaps it would be better if I did not.”
“Please,” you pouted. “Come on, it’s Christmas Eve. I’ll even save a special cookie for you.”
“Your persistence is as relentless as it is adorable,” he laughed. “I will come, but just for a movie or two. Deal?”
“Deal!” you squealed. “You won’t regret it. Oh! And, Loki, come here.”
You wrapped your arms around him, holding him in a tight embrace. It surprised him, to say the least. He still wasn’t entirely used to such signs of affection, but they were welcome, especially from you. However, he never was quite sure how to respond. After a second, he somewhat awkwardly wrapped his arms around you to return the hug.
“What was that for?” he questioned as you pulled back.
“You just seemed like you needed one,” you shrugged.
The joy that that gave him lasted all the way into the evening when it was time for him to join you for a movie, as promised. He’d put it off as long as he could, even considering just skipping and saying he’d fallen asleep. That would upset you, though, and you were the one person he hated to lie to. So, he made his way to the common room where a new movie was just starting. You scooted over a little on the couch so he could squeeze in between you and Peter. Bucky was sitting on the floor close by, and Loki had no doubt you’d specifically requested they be in those positions so he felt more comfortable. He was greeted with a few polite—dare he say, borderline friendly—nods and waves from a few of his other teammates. And, of course, an overly enthusiastic pat on the back from his brother as he passed.
“Loki! Glad you could make it,” you whispered as he plopped down next to you.
“Well, a deal is a deal, darling.”
“That reminds me, here’s your cookie.”
The little gingerbread man you handed him was decorated to look like him in his Asgardian battle armor. It was a wonderful likeness, all things considered. He smiled as he took a bite of the baked good. He tried to let go of all hate for the season as he relished this moment with you, but it was still lingering there.
“It is delicious, thank you.”
“No problem. I’m glad you liked it.”
You quieted down as the movie began and the opening credits played. Loki was already losing interest, and then the title appeared. How the Grinch Stole Christmas. A most intriguing title, he mused. Now that his interest was peaked, he watched with rapt attention as the animated film began. That grumpy, green fellow was possibly the best protagonist in any movie he’d been made to watch yet. He certainly had the right idea about Christmas. And those tiny little voices would have annoyed Loki to no end. It really was no different than what he was going through now, he realized. He thought it rather rude to call the Grinch “mean” though. It seemed to Loki he was just misunderstood.
As he watched the Grinch load up all the wreathes and toys into his sleigh, Loki was struck with an idea. Why should he not be able to do the same thing? Ok, maybe he couldn’t get away with stealing from the whole city, but what about the Tower? It was his home, too, and no one had asked him how he felt about all this stuff.
Now that he had a master plan blossoming in his head, he didn’t much care to see the end of the movie. He’d gotten everything he needed out of it. So, he went up to get a refill on his drink. By the time he go back, it was over.
“You missed the ending,” Peter said. “Do you want us to go back?”
“No, it is fine. I thought it was perfect just the way it was.”
“But all you saw was him stealing Christmas?”
“Exactly.”
“Should I be worried?”
“No. In fact, I could use your help.”
Before Peter could ask with what, everyone was getting up and leaving the room, ready to call it a night. You fretted over the fact that he’d only gotten to see one movie, but he assured you it was alright. The matter wasn’t dropped until he promised to watch at least one more tomorrow, too. It didn’t make much difference to him though, considering that after he was through with the Tower, he was sure no one would be much in the mood for Christmas movies, anyway.
“You’re planning something,” Bucky said before exiting.
“Maybe. Are you looking to assist?”
“Probably not. But good luck.”
“Fair enough. Goodnight.”
“Yeah, goodnight, Loki,” Peter said as he tried to hurry off after Bucky.
“Spiderling, may I enlist your help?” Loki asked.
“I, uh, yeah, I guess. What are friends for?”
“Excellent!” Loki exclaimed as the rest of the Avengers finished filing out.
The more he explained the plan, the more nervous Peter became. It did give Loki a bit of a pause, but oh, it sounded like great fun! For weeks on end now, he’d been suffering through this horrid season. It was just a little payback to the universe. That was fair, right? Maybe, but it was not fair to force his friend to help him.
“Listen, spiderling, if you do not wish to help, you do not have to,” Loki said.
“This is going to make you happy, right? Like, is this going to make your Christmas?”
“Quite honestly, I think it will.”
Peter considered for a moment, weighing the pros and cons of this situation. “Ok, I’ll help. On one condition. We leave everyone’s rooms as they are. We’ll just clean out the common areas.”
“That is quite reasonable. Thank you, spiderling.”
The duo got to work, stuffing all the little decorations in their sacks. Peter insisted that if they were going to do this, they had to do it right, and fetched a reindeer antler headband for himself and a Santa hat for Loki. While it was on the one hand entirely ridiculous, it did give Loki a bit of a laugh at the implication of it. Him as the Grinch and Peter as Max, his reluctant but loyal ally. The thought made him smile a little.
Everything was going great until they got to the first of the many large trees in the Tower. Loki stood there with a cocked head, tapping his chin. Sure, he could try to do it like the Grinch had, but life wasn’t a cartoon. So, no, that would pose more of a problem than a solution. Besides, Loki had something the Grinch didn’t. Magic. Carefully working his seiðr, the god shrunk down the first pine, ornaments and all, and put it in one of the bags.
A little while later, he was getting ready to do the same thing to one of the last remaining trees. Then you came stumbling out into the room. Peter did a little panicked dance before slinging a web and sticking himself to the ceiling. Loki walked up to you and laid his hands on your shoulder, trying to determine how conscious you actually were.
“Loki?” you asked, rubbing your eyes, your voice a little slurred from sleep. “What’re you doing? Where’re all the decorations?”
“You tell me. It is your dream,” he quickly lied.
“My dream,” you parroted spotting the filled sack on the ground near his feet “So is this because we watched the Grinch? Does that make me Cindy Lou Who?”
“I suppose it does, darling,” he laughed. “Why don’t you go back to bed?”
“Are you going to put everything thing back, Loki Claus?”
This time the chuckle came from Peter, who was watching the whole thing play out from his vantage point. You were too out of it to notice, though. Instead, you kept looking at Loki with those adorable doe eyes.
“I... Perhaps. Let us just get you back to your room right now, ok?”
You nodded, and he picked up your tired body, using his godly strength to carry you bridal style and lay you down amongst your many blankets and pillows. You gently tugged him down onto the mattress with you, and he remained there for a moment, not exactly sure of what was happening.
“Do you need to talk?” you questioned, cupping his cheeks and seeming a bit more awake than you a had a second ago. “I know things are hard, but we all do really care for you. I really care for you. And I’m here for you. You know that, right?”
“I know. I will be alright, darling. Just get a good night’s sleep for me, hmm?”
“Ok,” you sighed as he got up. “Night, Loki.”
“Goodnight, darling,” he whispered as he leaned over to give your head a small kiss.
He walked back out to his partner in crime, who was anxiously awaiting him. Loki let out a huff. He knew what the right thing to do now was.
“So?” Peter asked.
“Let’s put it all back,” Loki conceded.
And so they did. It took most of the night, but they got every last knickknack and ornament into place. Then Loki did something he never imagined he would; he added even more. His magic made the garlands a little bit fuller, the lights a little bit brighter, and the trees a little bit taller. More little statues and winter scenes appeared on nearly every surface possible. Finally, he nearly doubled the number of gifts under the tree, adding his own to the mix. He gave a satisfied little nod when he was done, then looked at Peter who was beaming at him.
“What is it?” Loki inquired, though he knew the answer deep down.
“Oh, nothing. This was fun, though. We should do this every year,” Peter yawned as they worked their way to their rooms to catch a couple hours of sleep.
“Maybe we will, spiderling. Maybe we will.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Loki woke up the next morning slightly more cheerful than he had in months. Ironic, considering today was actually Christmas, the culmination of the season he hated so much. Swinging his legs over the side of his bed and stretching out, Loki realized maybe he really was like the Grinch, and the only reason he disliked it so much was because he was so alone. And, like the Grinch, maybe he wasn’t appreciating those he did have enough. Maybe it was time to come out of his mountain cave and live amongst the people in town.
He eyed his Santa hat from last night, hanging from a bedpost. He picked it up and put it on his head, laughing a little in the mirror. He tugged on a deep green cable-knit sweater before he remembered the rest of the team’s plan to wear ugly sweaters today. He wasn’t sure what had gotten into him exactly, but he conjured one up for himself. It was a little ridiculous, but he supposed that was the whole point.
Heading out into the hall, he realized everything was dead silent. Loki wondered for a second if maybe you all had decided to go out for breakfast this morning. He sighed, but he couldn’t really hold it against any of you if you hadn’t invited him. He never said yes on a normal day, and he’d made it a point just how much he disliked Christmas. Regardless, he made his way to the kitchen.
“Merry Christmas!”
He nearly pulled out a dagger as everyone suddenly jumped out in front of him and shouted those words. Once his heart rate slowed back down to normal, he smiled despite himself. That’s when he noticed plates piled high with his favorite foods and realized you’d all must have gotten up early to do this for him.
“Merry Christmas, everyone. What is all this?”
“We just wanted to do something for you, Loki,” you explained. “Oh! And we got you a gift. Here.”
You handed him a small package wrapped in green and gold. It must have been convenient that his colors were also colors for the holiday. He laughed a little to himself, wondering how he hadn’t noticed before. He tore into the wrapping paper to find a small planner. You nodded at him, urging him on as he gave you a quizzical look. It had a bunch of events written in it, as well as which members of the team were attending.
“See, we know you don’t always come to our team events,” Bucky told him, “but we know you might want to start.”
“We have not always been the most... accepting,” Thor added. “Now, though, we want you to be able to come to any and everything you want to.”
“So we wrote it all down for you,” Peter finished. “This way, you know when things are and can just join whenever you feel like it.”
“Do you like it?” you nervously asked, biting your lip.
“Darling, it’s perfect,” he sincerely told you, tears of gratitude welling in his eyes. “Thank you. All of you.”
He was met with a chorus of “you’re welcomes” and “anytimes” as the room was filled with even more smiles. Soon, everyone dug into the feast that had been prepared, and the rest of the day was filled with merriment and laughter. Loki was surprised to see there were even more gifts for him resting under the tree. By the time it was dark out, the team was settling in to watch a few final Christmas movies for the season. Loki didn’t think he’d be taking any ideas from them tonight.
“Darling,” he said as the two of you were alone, grabbing movie snacks in the kitchen. “May I ask you why you all did what you did for me?”
“It’s like we said, Loki. We all do care about you, and we want you to be able to do stuff with us. They know you’re not a bad guy, you’ve more than proven that. For a long time they just weren’t exactly sure how to bridge the gap. But you’re a part of the team, and we want you to feel like it.”
“Thank you. You have no idea how much that means to me.”
“It’s no problem, Loki. Plus, you really did go all out with these extra decorations.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he blushed.
“Oh?” you said, walking up to him so that you bodies were nearly pressed together. “You don’t now, huh Loki Claus?”
Of course you hadn’t bought his lie last night. He laughed a little to himself now for thinking you had. But Loki realized something else, too. What you’d done last night, what you’d said, you’d fully known what you were doing. The way you’d pulled him onto the bed and held his face, told him how you cared. You knew it was real.
“Darling,” he said. “I think I do need to talk, after all.”
“I’m listening. What is it?”
“I love you.”
You pulled him in for a kiss, and he reciprocated immediately, smiling against your lips. Now he was wondering if he was dreaming. But no, just like last night, this was real.
“In case it wasn’t obvious,” you said, catching your breath, “I love you too.”
Hand in hand, you went to join the rest of the team. So maybe Loki’s heart didn’t literally grow three sizes that day, but there was one more comparison to be drawn. Because, you see, in finding his place, Loki realized that Christmas wasn’t so bad after all.

~ch:5 A night out~
Beverly hadn't been feeling too great since the night before. Learning she had deadlights now, after all these years of being confused of whats wrong. What was she suppose to do now? No doctor could ever help her, while needing to regularly feed upon humans to live. She hadn't seen the clown since then either. Nor another one of his meat gifts. Thankful that he had listened to her angry threats. Thinking what to do with her life while staring down into her untouched coffee. Sighing as she got up to pour it down the drain.
“continue on with my career goals, I guess.” readying for her next night classes. A quick throw on of fresh clothes and grabbing her back full of school books before going out the door. Arriving at the school earlier then she intended. Wandering around the lit halls instead of heading straight to class. She hated waiting alone in class for the teacher to finally arrive. Walking long enough to end up at the small courtyard right outside the gym and cafeteria. Readying to turn around back inside when that male appeared.
Slowly Remembering his name in thought. “tom Rogan?” watching him carefully waltz up. Annoyed, but also feeling guilty about it. He hadn't even done anything to her and she almost killed him at that party. Then pen jumped them both and she fled before anything major occurred. “what did happen?” she questioned. Her silent confused expression caught his attention quick.
“what? You look like you've seen a ghost?” chuckling at the small joke.
“maybe … you remember a clown, don't you?”
“oh yes, he roughed me up a bit and tried scaring me off from you.” shifting his shoulders. “but I am not afraid of clowns.” smiling proudly. “it actually got me interested, is he your boyfriend?”
“ha! No!” shaking her head.
“oh, that's good. I guess hes just a desperate creep then?” laughing at knowing the clown was so far rejected. Now it was time for him to weasel in. “maybe we can go out for some coffee some time?”
“uh.” hesitating, something about him agitated her, but she still wasn't aware of why. Well, she did almost kill him, and still could if he tried anything. Maybe one little date could pass. “sure.”
“lovely! Id prefer to do it sometime late. With my classes I've gained a night owl schedule. Maybe after class? When do you get off?”
“oh, sorry, not tonight. I have a few things to work on, but maybe tomorrow.” smiling awkwardly. She felt so odd and unprepared for a date so soon. Whats worse is that aching feeling would be back soon and what if it sprung in the middle of the date? Grimacing at the thought.
His smile twitched. “ah, alright. Tomorrow then.” his words sounding more of an order then confirmation. Her own smile twitching at the subtle aggression. Gritting her teeth together before splitting their ways.
“should have said no.” grumbling while no longer in the mood to enter class. Maybe she should ditch today? Missing a day wouldn't affect her high grade in the least. Walking off campus, down the street to the freshly built arcade. Thinking about living her younger days playing with the guys would give her a much needed break from everything.
Buying a roll of coins to play a few games. winning a small pile of tickets to get her a stuffed bear and a pile of candy. Eating through that overly quick as she walked to leave after a few hours. A flash of silver between the games halting her steps. She knew right away who it was and why he was here with the few kids staying out late. Shoving her stuff into her backpack she hunted that tall clown through the arcade. Following that coffee pine scent to the play area of giant tubing.
Deeply growling she climbed into that mini play labyrinth to find him lurking in one of the darker parts. His smug face expecting a child to approach, crumbling at the sight of a pissed off Beverly. Rounding a corner to claw right into him with teeth bared. This time he wasn't being so submissive. Thrashing them around in the tunnel till they reached a bigger rounded tubing that made a small room of sorts. Shoving her to get away for them both to have space. Her having a few cuts and him having some deep gashes.
“why do you keep rejecting me?!” he growled through bared teeth. “i can give you a whole lot more then gifts if you let me! But every time you've accepted me you just as quickly shred me down!”
“i will never want you!”
“why not?!” licking blood away that dripped down his face from a deep set of claw marks given earlier. Swiping the rest away with a gloved hand, staining the white cloth red. “i can provide you with everything. Protect you, feed you, raise our young”
“HA! RAISE YOUNG WITH YOU?!” she laughed through sharp teeth. “why would I have children with someone who eats them?!”
he froze. Silent at something clicking in his mind. It was no wonder she was so aggressive about chasing him off. She was still partially human, and so she saw human children as hers. Her cycle boosting that protective instinct of motherhood. Accepting and rejecting him so easily because he was unknowingly a horrible choice. A threat to any young she would bare. If he wanted a chance he'd have to give something up that he had enjoyed since coming her. Could he stop devouring children for her? Maybe he could convince her instead to join his particular diet? “no” he thought. “there's only one choice between us here.”
his slow thinking and unwillingness to leave building her agitation enough for a 2nd round. Aiming to claw for his face if it weren't for him smashing her down easily under his own claws. Holding her, but not harming, unlike her shredding into his arms like and angry cat. “stop that!” he roared down. Getting tired of being turned into a pile of shredded up meat. Pinning her down further to stop her violent attacks.
“get off!” clamping her jaws into his arm and forcing him into letting her go. Shoving her to just get her away from him.
If he was going to talk with her, now was the time. “stop and lets talk!” trying to be dominant here without triggering her into a volatile reaction again. Quickly continuing either way she reacted. “become my mate and I'll stop eating children.” he tossed out. Feeling completely ready to do it if it meant having her. The wonderful thought of no longer being alone, and to possibly have young for once in his life.
She glared at him distrusting. “liar!” she growled.
“no!” he growled back. “i will stop, if you choose me as your mate! I can prove it, if you let me stay by your side. I wont go anywhere without you, even on my hunts. You can approve of everything that I do.”
a growl rumbled in her throat. Her mind jumping between mauling him again or bothering to accept his offer. Something deep down felt good around him, far better then others shes been with. Well, she could see if he was telling the truth. Otherwise she could always happily maul him over and over. “fine.” speaking through her grit teeth. “but we need to talk a bit more. NOT here. Go to the quarry and I will meet you there. And no, you cant stay here.” making her small demand very clear.
He didn't say anything, but nodded. Leaving first with her hanging around the arcade a little while longer. Licking at her wounds to stop the little beads of blood. Sighing at what she got herself into. Breaking out some candy to eat as she slowly rested at a booth. All that fighting slowly catching up to her with all the fresh bruising appearing. “looks like I boxed a kangaroo and lost.” regaining enough energy to get up she walked out to head back to her car. Managing to pick up a coffee along the way right as the diner was closing.
Taking the long anxious drive to the quarry to meet back with the clown. If he was still there and meant what he said. Parking under the lone almost burnt out street light at the entry gate. Snapping the thick iron lock off with a yank to let herself in. walking up the stony gravel path to stand by the first tunnel at the hill top. Their were no lights, but she could still see just as well as if there was a low glow nearby. It was one reason why she choose the place. Easy privacy along with being far away from any kids passing by to run home.
It wasn't long before he approached her to start the conversation. She grit her sharp teeth to hold her aggression back. “tell me, clown. What exactly happened with the dead lights and why do I have them?”
“i didn't know it could happened. Its never happened before, that I know of. In that small window you were maturing, a cluster of my lights latched onto you. They became yours and grew along with you. It was an incredibly small window of chance that I've never done it before.”
“hmm, why does it have to cause such irritation every few months? I never saw you seeming so agitated by anything. Its an annoying burn that never goes away, at least not on its own.”
“burning? It happens every few months?” he perked up. Excitedly thinking that “she does have a cycle, and perhaps its not over.” smiling, but also holding back his excitement. “you have a cycle. Going into heat. How long does it last?” interested to know more.
“ugh.” she grumbled in disgust. Part of her knew, but really didn't want to accept just like her new diet. “i guess every few months. Over the course of like a week. It fades in and out during the time.”
“hmm, much smaller then normal.” he hummed, not disappointed at the news. “is your current one over? I used to smell it on you.” approaching closer to catch her scent, unintentionally making her nervous. He stepped back with a look away when she bared her teeth.
Putting her teeth away, but Not liking where this conversation was heading. “no, … it still has a few days. … how long do they normally last?”
“every 800 years lasting for 54 years or until they become pregnant.” he answered.
Beverly just about choked on her spit. Thinking of it possibly lasting that long she rather just drop dead. “so, why are you awake so early?” moving the conversation.
“you. I sensed when you entered back into town, your lights. I didn't know it was you until I said hi that first night.” curious on how much she felt the same. “can you feel me?”
“yes.”
“how so?”
“outside Derry its like a tugging. Inside is a warmth in my chest.” other questions coming to mind. “why do you want to be with me so bad? I thought you hated me and would hate me even more since I came back.”
“our kind is hard to couple. Females are extremely choosy in their mates. I've had a few, but each egg cluster I've made with them has failed. With that they don't want to be with me anymore. Its gotten so bad that our kind is no longer keeping up, we are dying as a lonely species.”
the idea of him having kids alarming her. “you've tried having kids? You've never been successful?”
“no...” hesitant to talk about the subject as it cost him so many mates before. “I've tried to make young on my own, but all have been failures.”
“on your own? Like asexual reproduction?”
“yes, its possible for us, but extremely difficult then if we coupled. Females can hold the eggs and give all that they need. While the ones I make are prematurely set into the world. I have to more manually care for them. They usually have a speck of life that quickly rots away.”
Beverly wondered what it would be like for him to have a clutch live. Some swarm of devouring parasites plaguing the universe. Bringing up another major question and one he was sure to be wanting. “do you want to have children with me?”
“yes.” he answered overly quick.
A feeling in her heart both sunk and fluttered at the thought. “and what about your hibernation? Expect me to raise your kids alone?”
“no. hibernating is a choice, not a necessary. I will stay up by your side if we are together.”
the next question to pop in her mind being something a little more awkward to ask. “... ever had sex with a human before?”
“yes.”
“with who? When?” she questioned.
He chucked. “century's ago, nobody you'd know. Especially since they didn't last long after the event. I always liked a meal in bed.”
Beverly swallowed roughly at possibly being eaten after having sex. Was that what he was ultimately planning. Was this still a ploy to get at her? Meat being ripped from bone to be swallowed down. Her stomach growling out a painful ache at the dark thought of devouring someone like that. Catching the clowns attention.
“want me to feed you?”
“no!” accidentally snapping at him. Holding her stomach at another painful growl.
“you have to eat!” he snaps back.
“i am not killing anybody!” she growled.
“i can teach you how to hunt.”
“its not that, its just the fact of eating. I cant get past the idea of-” feeling sick already. “that's why I only get about half way. I get so hungry I just black out and when I come too I am still starving, but I just cant eat the rest.
“did you eat the meat pies alright?”
“... yes. … they didn't have kids in them, did they?!” reacting aggressively already.
“no, no. I promise.” speaking softly to calm her down. “i can make you more, I can help you eat. Just come and pick your meal and I will prepare it for you.” offering out his hand.
She stared at his palm, hesitating to take it for fear of what he maybe planning. After taking the soft warm hand they were whisked away to someplace with a large billboard. It took Beverly a moment to recognize it as outside the sheriffs office.
“here, pick from the menu.” Pennywise gestured to the bored covered in wanted posters with mugshots.
She swallowed heavily at all the poster. Scanning down the list of criminals of who was the worst of the batch. Robbers, drug sellers, chop shop runners, car thieves, muggers. She ended up picking one of the few murderers. A man who killed two girlfriends and tried to kill an officer.
“alright, I know where he is.” the clown held out his hand again. “ready to go hunt?”
“i don't think I can.” rejecting his hand.
“you wont have to, its just to follow up with what I promised. You just have to watch me.” gesturing his hand for hers. Patient as she slowly reached to take it. Another quick whisk away brought them to some trailer park. Her taking a little longer to figure out where after all that warping was making her woozy. “wait here.” helping her sit on a fallen log. Leaving her to enter a nearby parked RV.
The man seeing the clown enter stood up from his small chair. Taking hold of a gun strapped to his hip. “who the hell are you?! Get the fuck outta my house.”
Pennywise slashed his claws right unto the mans chest before crunching into the shoulder. The mans gun holding arm immediately went limp from the severe damage. The screams reaching no one nearby as the mans blood filled the trailer with its scent. Somehow the man got to his feet and ran out the front through the passenger door.
“dammit.” the clown cursed, he didn't want to chase the meal. Surprised at hearing another loud crunch followed by the mans screaming. Passing through the door he saw that the man didn't make it far. Beverly had tackled him and was ripping into his face and ribs. Going into a feeding frenzy off the strong scent of blood and fear of the running man.
Pennywise stood nearby as he happily watched her eat. Getting food possessive growls from her when he tried approaching. She got about half way through the corpse when her body settled down. Blood dripping off her face as she  swallowed down the blood still in her mouth.
“you should keep eating.”
“i cant. This is my limit every time I do.”
“i can make it easier.” Taking the body to start ripping away the rest of the meat.
Beverly couldn't watch and had to go sit back on the log. When he was done he came over with a hot delicious smelling pie.
“is this better?” offering the nice meal.
“yes.” she nodded, taking the pie to eat more delicately.
“there was a lot left, so I made you some cuts that would look like other meats. Easy to cook for any meal.”
“thank you.” feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. Eating through the warm meal, feeling on the brink of being full for the first time in almost a decade. Next was dealing with her exhaustion now.
“would you like to go home?”
“yeah, I am pretty worn out after tonight.”
“here, I'll take you home and fetch your car so you don't have to.” offering his hand again. She nodded and took his hand. This time she wasn't woozy after the change. Looking down at her self she realized what a mess she was and needed a shower before hopping into bed. Fetching clothes and towels with a start of the hot water. Sitting on the couch for it to heat up with the clown not too far. Her exhaustion keeping away any awkward feelings of him being out here while she showered. Not even thinking about when she was to finally sleep.
Glancing over the blood coating her he was tempted to help clean, but that would be intruding. “you had claws, but there gone and your teeth aren't as sharp as when fighting.”
“mm? Oh, yeah.” her tired brain taking a moment. “They only appear when I am hungry, or really angry. I cant seem to bring them out otherwise.”
“what other traits have you noticed?”
“... its easier to hide things. Police come and I just say what I need to and then they leave. Nothings brought up again of my killings. Its a lot easier to fight and kill people. Everyone wants to be with me or a part of my life suddenly. Like I've suddenly become the popular girl.” she tiredly explained, getting up a little after to start her shower. “I'll be out in a bit, then I am going to bed.” she mumbled as she entered the bathroom with a close of the door.
He smiled amused at her half asleep wandering. excited to be relaxing on her couch without worry of her mauling him if seen. His possibly new mate well fed and happier then before. It was too early to be sure she would fully accept him, but he'd do what ever it takes.

The Hammer and The Widow
Tumblr media
Title: The Hammer and The Widow
Summary: August decides he needs more than just sleep the night before they collect Lane.
Pairing: August Walker x Alanna Mitsopolis (The White Widow)
Word Count: 2709
Warnings: nudity, oral sex, sex.
A/N: Well folks, this little present for @littlefreya has been in the works for months. But finally, finally my words are back, and it’s here. It is also Song Drabble #20, “Earned It” by the Weekend, submitted by two anons. I use the word “drabble” loosely, as it’s nearly 3k words. Whoops. Fan Club tag in the reblog. Please enjoy!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Right… Sleep well everyone. Busy day tomorrow.”
August watched her exit the room, her sheer white robe flowing behind her as if it hadn’t immediately realized she was moving. The contrast of pure white silk against the Widow’s cold black heart stirred the heat rapidly pooling in his belly, and August knew without question he would have her tonight. He needed it, adrenaline and rage had been surging through his body since he’d jumped out of the plane. She was everything he desired in a woman and more; she carried herself with grace and poise, an innocent affront that he knew hid a well-groomed hunger for power.
Ethan turned and signaled that it was time to go, but Walker grabbed his arm.
“Someone should stay here. Something about this just doesn’t feel right; I don’t trust her. Perhaps I can get her to reveal more information.”
Ethan eyed him warily, looking around the room at the men fixing weapons. He needed to formulate a plan; he didn’t want anyone to die. August might be right, an inside man would help, and would keep their cover.
“Don’t give them the option of saying no,” Ethan admonished, and left with everyone else. August sighed and circled the table, pretending to be interested in the plans for the extraction while making sure he was still within earshot of the room Alanna had disappeared to. He was a patient man when he needed to be, but fortunately he didn’t have to wait long.
The White Widow reentered the living room, expecting to find it empty, so when she saw Walker standing there she was taken aback, though intrigue instead of alarm fell over her features.
“I’d thought everyone had left,” she stated calmly, brushing past August to pour herself a drink from the small bar in the corner. A devilish smirk turned up the corner of his mouth.
“Lark and I thought it would be best that one of us remain here,” he murmured just as calmly, turning around and leaning against the table, crossing his arms across his chest as he watched her move. She’d removed her robe in her absence and the low light glinted off her skin, mimicking the shimmer of her nightgown with each deliberate action of her hands. The gown itself left little to the imagination, and August couldn’t help but picture how the soft, pert little nipples that hid underneath would taste.
“And by ‘Lark and I’, you mean you?” The Widow’s voice distracted August and his eyes snapped to her face, her expression indicating his thoughts were clearly not his own. He spoke as much out loud, coming over to stand behind her.
“Don’t you think,” he spoke softly, running his knuckles along the skin he’d been so intently staring at, “The night would be better spent with someone after the evening we had?”
“Why yes, Mr. Walker, I do believe you’re right.”
Alanna turned her head to the side, looking at his fingers rather than his face. She closed her eyes softly as August made his way up to her neck, sweeping her hair to the side and ever so lightly skimming his fingertips against her shoulder. She sighed contentedly, leaning her head back against his chest and offering her neck to the beast in her chamber.
August hooked a finger underneath the strap of the Widow’s gown, letting it slip down on his hand to hang gracefully off her shoulder. His lips connected with the woven lace of her delicate skin, small wet patches from his caress left in his wake as he traveled from her clavicle to the paper thin dermis protecting the pulse beneath her ear. He took his time, savoring the way she tasted and every sharp intake of air that Alanna drew in, soft little mewls escaping each time she exhaled. Yes, he would have her. But it would be slow.
His fingers fisted in her hair as August took control, tilting her this way and that as he pleased. It was as if Alanna’s head was unhinged, her consent clear as she let him manipulate her. August turned her head to face him, his large hand covering her jaw and most of her neck as he ducked down for a kiss. Deep and probing, exploring her mouth with a sense of urgency, August dropped the other strap of her nightgown and let the pale silk fall to the floor.
Alanna pulled away and opened her eyes, ever the mystery as she stared stoically into his soul. It took August by surprise and he searched her face intently, looking for the meaning behind her gaze. He couldn’t find it, and that frustrated him.
“On your knees,” he whispered, authority dripping from his tone. The corner of the Widow’s mouth turned up slightly, and she raised an eyebrow.
“No.”
This caught August off guard. His grasp on her hair loosened and Alanna stepped out of the gown, walking toward the bedroom and only glancing back once at the stunned man she’d left behind. August quickly regained his composure and followed her into her lair. There she lay propped on her elbows in the center of her bed, an intricate web he was certain had trapped more than one man. Alanna lifted her chin proudly.
“If you want your prize,” she challenged him, “You’ll have to earn it.”
The Widow spread her legs on the last words to emphasize her point, and it was August’s turn to grin. He removed his tie slowly, followed shortly by the government-issued disguise that he was forced to wear daily. Alanna watched him intently as he peeled back the layers of cotton, all muscle and sinew and sinful flesh lurking beneath the mask of his job. August noted the darkening of her eyes, the scent of her arousal at the sight of his naked body beginning to permeate the air. He knew she could sense the danger that lay dormant beneath his charming and practical demeanor, and he knew that it thrilled her to her core.
August knelt on the bed and slid his hands over Alanna’s legs, starting at her ankles and working his way up until he reached her thighs. He grasped the backs of them firmly and split her open, diving into her depths with fervor and need. The moment his tongue tasted her honey he knew he was lost, ensnared in the same web so many men before had succumbed to. She was just as dangerous as he, and he knew that should she choose to, The Widow would eat him alive when she’d had her fill. August intended to give her a reason to keep him around.
Elation overtook him as August drank her in, sucking the nectar from deep within her walls. Alanna’s gasps grew louder, closer; her hands tangled in the sheets above her head and her back arched in calculated movements, each one chasing the high that she had grown accustomed to. Again, this frustrated August. He wasn’t like other men; he was The Hammer. Every fiber of his existence in this moment alone rested entirely on leaving such a mark that she would remember the way he felt deep inside of her for the rest of her life.
August growled, hooking two fingers inside of the Widow and yanking her towards him. Her eyes shot open and her head snapped to her chest, staring at him in awe as his mouth pillaged the secret lair that hid between her legs. Alanna’s hands left their comfortable perch to grasp in his curls, attempting to pull him away from her delicate  organ. But August refused to cave in to her will this time, wrapping his strong arms around her thighs instead and grasping her wrists firmly in his hands, sinking even deeper into her cave as her legs began to shake.
“August…” Alanna uttered breathlessly, which was followed quickly by orgasmic moans as her voice caught in her throat, consumed by pleasure. Her cries filled the room and her body trembled but August kept her legs wide, mercilessly eating his fill. The Widow was now trapped in her own web, and he didn’t slow as she came down, simply altered his movements and focused on the newly sensitized bundle of nerves now swollen and visible from within her folds.
The Widow arched her back again, but this time it wasn’t on purpose. August could sense it all, the smell of her desire, the sound of her delight, the taste of her need dripping from her entrance; it fueled his fury, his own need to have her quickly surmounting any other thought in his mind. But he wanted that hard shell of hers to come down first. He wanted the Widow to remove her exoskeleton, to take down those walls, to let him into her most intimate of places. August wanted her to beg.
Alanna writhed beneath him, unable to escape his expert touch. She keened as another orgasm quickly mounted, rocking through her while August tortured her swollen nub.
“I’d suggest you fuck me now, Walker,” she commanded, trying without success to regain the lead. August smirked.
“No.”
The Widow threw her head back and groaned, whimpering profusely. August latched both of her wrists in one hand and brought his free fingers down to her slick folds to play, easily sliding two digits in only knuckle deep while he licked her clit softly.
“Ask me nicely.”
“Fuck!” Alanna cried, decorum be damned. The lady that men saw outwardly was gone, reduced to nothing more than a quivering mess of a whore, desperate to be filled. She was nearly laughing at the surprising switch of power, struggling in vain against the iron vice of the Hammer. All pleasure had been removed and August granted her nothing but the agonizing edge, knowing full well that one skilled stroke would send her plummeting into the deep. He could see the struggle on her face, her realization that she’d never met her match until now. If she gave in to what he wanted, the Widow gave up control, a position she’d never been in before.
August picked up the pace by slowing down, his tongue drawing long, languid strokes from his fingers to her mound as he fucked her just as slow, burying his fingers to the hilt before dragging them from her core. The Widow snapped, all sense of self-preservation flying out the window as need overtook her.
“More,” she begged him, “August… I need more. Oh, for the love of god, give me more!”
“Aw, you want me to fuck you, pet?” August grinned, not stopping.
“YES!” Alanna exclaimed, squirming in agony as her needs were left unsatisfied. She was now the prey, the fly tangled in a web of lust and sin, and August liked playing with his food. In tandem, he released her hands to grab her throat and slammed his fingers into her center, circling her neck to grab her hair and draw her up on her knees in front of him to meet his gaze.
“If you want your prize,” he mimicked her, “You’ll have to earn it.”
To emphasize his point, August withdrew his fingers from her pussy and placed them on her lips, indicating with his eyebrow that she should suck. The Widow took to the task at once, cleaning the sharp sweetness of her need from his skin with reverent care as her hands traced gentle patterns on his hips and ass. August watched intently, picturing those full lips around his cock and how pretty she would look if he chose to fuck her face. He closed his eyes and pushed the thought away; there would be plenty of time for that during the next round.
August flipped Alanna suddenly, keeping a firm grasp on her hair as he pulled her flush against him, folding the rest of his body around hers in a strangely intimate gesture of protection. His cock entered her slick heat and his neurons erupted at the sudden sensation; Alanna’s outward cries echoed the pleasurable sentiment his body was screaming at him and August growled in her ear.
“Go ahead, pet… earn it.”
The Widow didn’t need any further encouragement, rutting against him with fervor. August guided her almost imperceptibly, allowing her to think she was in control of the actions of her body when in reality he was moving her where and how he wanted. She fucked him with surprising strength though, her walls tightening around his thick shaft as the orgasm she sought neared her.
“Ah ah ah, pet, not yet,” August chided, cupping her chin skyward so that she could see him out of the corner of her eye.
“You haven’t earned it yet.”
The Widow wailed as she closed her eyes and thrust harder, desiring nothing more than the rich imprint of release to be engraved into her skin. Every muscle in August’s being rippled with power, drunk on her near submission to his will. The wanton noises she made only fanned the flame and his entire body ached with hunger, with a raw craving to take her for his own. He watched his hard length slide in and out of Alanna’s body, her tempting ass pressing against his abdomen with each of her thrusts as if daring his hand to smack it. He could sense her exhaustion, her fear that she wouldn’t be able to earn the pleasure that lay just out of reach, and her determination to prove just how worthy she was of receiving it. But still August waited; he wanted that last piece of submission.
August finally heard it fall softly from her lips, one word that gave up any amount of control she had left, and it thrilled him to his core.
“Please.”
A low hum emitted from his chest; pride and thirst melting into one. August’s hands became soft as he whispered in Alanna’s ear.
“Come for me, Kitten… and don’t you dare stop until I say so.”
He maneuvered Alanna onto her belly, grasping her hips and showing her the true reason for the title of ‘Hammer’. August fucked her relentlessly, his grunts of pleasure creating a harmonic undertone to the Widow’s cries of bliss. Frantically he chased his release, intent on filling her with every ounce of his seed; a blaze filled his mind and curses poured from his lips, swept from his body as at last he fell into darkness, surrounded by the treasure of euphoria and the warmth of her carnal embrace. He collapsed on top of her and together they drank from the holy grail of passionate communion, drowning in waves of ecstasy and sin, only surfacing for air when the need for it outweighed the feeling of rapture.
August shifted so that he was lying next to Alanna, still sheathed within her walls but no longer restricting her lungs. Her body was shaking, aftershocks travelling through her nervous system as she came down from the high. He slipped his hand into hers and she opened her eyes to stare at him; August could see the walls she so carefully guarded had been removed, granting him unspoken permission to view the sacred vulnerability that lay hidden beneath. He kissed her shoulder, stroking her hair and enjoying the sudden softness in the room that could only be achieved through the atmosphere of post-coital afterglow.
“Well done, Hammer,” Alanna mused, a shy smile turning up the corner of her mouth as she kissed his fingertips. August chuckled quietly, watching her work, drinking in her contentment. The thought of tomorrow drifted into the forefront of his mind and he pushed it away angrily, refusing to let it ruin the moment.
His face must have revealed his displeasure though, for the Widow was staring at him again with those big eyes. August captured her lips in his, half to distract and half because he wanted to taste her again. There was more to her than he had realized, and now one night just didn’t feel like it would be enough. She was marked; she was his.
No other man would share her bed ever again. No other man would fall prey to the Widow.
No other man but him.
