i actually refuse to believe that he admired his father and that’s why he was so angry. his father was a man who tried to kill his own son. which like, blah blah thats the plot blah blah samheeds creative….. shut up. i dont think that samheed was stupid enough or brainwashed enough to believe his father was a good man. his father must have come home angry, something. theres no way all samheeds anger was just there. anger has a cause
Imagine you live in pelican town.
The new farmer has been here a couple weeks now and seems to be settling in, except... He's picking the weirdest friend choices. Like sure it's not weird to befriend the local fisherman, especially when he has an interest in fishing himself, but you're pretty sure you've seen him rooting through the Saloon's garbage with the local homeless man. As well, he keeps harassing the poor guy who works at Joja even though you KNOW he doesn't want to be friends with him.
And since you're on the topic of weirdness, isn't it odd he seemingly runs everywhere at a full sprint? Or just... Eats entire raw fish while fishing for "energy reasons"...
...
Despite all that, it's too early to call him off putting or anything... He has been engaging in town traditions, and he's started helping out with the old community centre. He's probably like the rest of you. Someone with a few quirks, that will fit in with the valley great!
Over the years Tim had lead, taught and helped countless other teens come into thier powers and said teens looked at him like he hung the stars. They admired him greatly and wanted to do something to make thier mentor/big brother figure proud.
So when they found Tims soulmate they were absolutely ecstatic.
Yeah sure, the guy was the child of evil mad scientists and apparently the heir of a creepy fake vampire supervillian but they'd seen weirder couples in the hero community. They just needed to convince him to join the heros side!
Naturally they try to kidnap Danny and he has no idea whats going on other than a bunch of kids in superhero costumes are trying to abduct him. Between his powers as Phantom, that they seem to not know about (thank the ancients that ghosts don't show up well of pictures and that he started wearing a mask) and his own parents paranoid housebuilding techniques Danny escapes them easily.
Danny figured they would leave him alone eventually, right? If not he would have to call the cops for stalking and harassment.
If that didn't work he would just set all the house lazers to stun. Worst case scenario he might have to call the Justice League emergency line and yell at them to come get thier kids.
It would also be funny if he just kicked them out as Phantom
Zionists want you to conflate Judaism and Zionism. Zionists want you to believe that Judaism cannot exist without Zionism and that all Jews are Zionists. Zionism would have Jews believe that a Jewish state is the only way that they can be safe from antisemitism and will point to any instance of antisemitism as proof that Zionism is the solution- so Zionism wants gentiles to be antisemitic in their support of Palestine. They want you to conflate all Jews with Zionism and the state of Israel, and they want you to treat all Jews regardless of political affiliation as the face of Israel. Antizionist Jews exist, and incidences of antisemitism ostensibly acting against Zionism will not help dismantle the forces propping Zionism up.
A character looks straight into the camera and says "I'm not interested in romance" and people will still say "No, it's not confirmed they're aromantic!!!" "They could change their mind!!!" "it's a challenge for them to overcome!!!" "They'll have character development that makes them fall in love"
It's like they are given the most blatant answer to a character romantic orientation and they actively ignore it. all the while all it takes is subtext for people to speak as if it is fact for a character to be any other sexuality.
Hear me out. Ratiorine AU where Aventurine is a mer captured by a group of researchers and Ratio is the scientist brought on board to teach him how to speak and access his intelligence levels.
A Whumper with fire powers branding their Whumpee not just with their name or initials, but their handprints.
Two palms scarred against either side of Whumpee’s neck, fingers wrapping around their throat in a collar that can never be removed. Hands on their sides, just below their broken ribs, a touch that will never relent. Fingers wrapped around their wrists in shackles that won’t be unlocked. A handprint against their face, cupping their cheek that had already suffered so many punches. The small of their back. A single hand just between their shoulder blades. Dragging down their thighs.
Am I the only one that feels like NTs HATE saying 'I don't know.'
You will not believe the amount of times I'll ask a basic objective question about a situation and they'll give me an answer, only for later the answer to be completely wrong. And then when I ask them why they would give me wrong information - they say 'I just guessed.'
I didn't ask you for your guess. I asked for the information. If you didn't have the information don't just GUESS. Say 'I don't know.'
I feel like NT don't realize that WRONG information is worse than no information.
If I want to know when an event will end and you say '5pm' - I'm going to be mentally prepared for 5pm. And if it DOESN'T end then, not only will I be out of energy, but I'll be irritated and confused because I'm in an unfamiliar situation with NO INFORMATION
Had you just told me 'I don't know what time it ends' instead of GUESSING 5, then I would've prepared for the worse. But now I have to literally rearrange everything in my head and talk myself down from meltdown cause I was given inaccurate information and also I thought I was going home.
But they act instead like saying I don't know is a moral failure.
My father used to yell at me all the time to not say 'I don't know.'
He'd always demand I figure it out and come up with SOMETHING no matter how uninformed or vague and that's how you have NTs walking around feeling like it's a crime to admit they simply don't know something
and instead they'll just shamble something together and hope that's good enough regardless of whether in the information is actually helpful or correct.
IT'S SO ANNOYING. JUST SAY YOU DON'T KNOW.
Stop guessing and giving me WRONG information because it only makes the situation worse and more confusing. Say you don't KNOW. It's FINE.
have you ever wanted to have your very own whumpee locked away in a basement to horribly mistreat? silly little things like "legal" or "moral" issues got in the way of fulfilling that desire? why not try it in a videogame instead!
i've had this project in the works for a while, but it's slowly entering the (very) early alpha stages! i would like to present an as of yet untitled "whump game". much like in those "virtual pet" style games that used to be popular a ~decade ago, you'll have to take care of your captive and check in on him every now and again. the video is just an early version of the customization screen - there's a lot more to come! some of the features i'm currently working on:
more customization options!
a system of rewards/punishments.
a diary for your whumpee.
ways to make money and buying clothes, accessories, etc.
a health and hunger system - try to keep your whumpee alive.
a story. yes, this will be more than just a tamagotchi clone with torture!!
a playable multiplatform build (probably on itch.io).
i'll be publishing more updates under the tag #whumpdev
let me know if you have any wishes/suggestions/complaints or you want to be added to a taglist! :)
1 - Make a chapter out line as you go, so if you need any sort of information about what's happened in the book, you don't have to scroll through each and every paragraph you wrote.
2 - Your first draft is not Your published book, you're gonna have to revise it and edit it a lot over the while, so Let it Suck. It'll turn into a second, third draft, and published book in the end.
3 - What matters is that you wrote, not how much you wrote. Try to set a daily number of words for you to write, that way you get consistency and it gives you a routine to follow.
4 - Remember that many books have been written, many with the same premise, but by different people. If you worry that your idea is too average or too oversaturated remember this:
5 - Don't make scenes too long, dont detail what you don't need to. If your character is going to develop via an event, detail it where needed, don't detail every little thing because it makes the scene unnecessarily long.
This Idea has been written before, but not by you.
whump fic where whumpee is being held captive by whumper and continually tries to escape to find where caretaker is being held so they can get out of here together, but as the story progresses it becomes more clear that whumpee is a victim of stockholm syndrome/brainwashing by "caretaker" and is actually being rehabilitated by "whumper" after being rescued, not kidnapped
Hello! If it’s not too much trouble, would you be willing to discuss how to describe a character with nonhuman features? Such as wings, specifically? Thank you!
Prompts for Describing a Character with Wings
-> @she-who-fights-and-writes made an in-depth post about writing a character with wings with many helpful tips to remember while writing. They also include a list of vocabulary to describe the movement of wings based on the character's emotions. Their post can be found Here.
-> @kedreeva made a post regarding the science behind a character having wings, including anatomy of the wings themselves and the feathers. They also dive into info about preening, molting, nesting, etc. That post can be found Here.
-> feel free to edit and adjust pronouns as you see fit.
He was a handsome guy with sharp features, but she couldn't keep her eyes off of his wings. They sprouted from his back like two extra limbs that he could control at will, with long, silky black feathers like a raven.
The feathers of her wings flared when she was angry, making her appear bigger than she was.
They had wings like a hummingbird that fluttered just as fast as his heart when he saw them.
He hated his wings sometimes. They were big and bulky and never useful to him when he was on the ground. He groaned as he bent to pick up the things his wings had managed to knock off the shelf, only to have them swipe a few more items from the counter and onto the floor.
Her wings were neatly folded behind her back, tucked close. At a sudden noise behind her, she jolted, her wings shooting out to display her full wingspan. Her heart pounded in her chest, her feathers twitching as she searched for the source of the noise.
The wings on their back gently shifted, hovering over her head to shield her from the rain.
His wings stretched out to their full wingspan as a last minute attempt to keep himself from falling.
She felt free when she was in the air, her wings finally able to stretch out to their full potential. She felt so trapped on the ground sometimes, forced to keep them folded so they don't get in the way.
God, he thought they were beautiful. They were an angel, had to be. An angel blessed with the prettiest wings he had ever seen on a person, sprouting gently from their back like a waterfall of feathers.
