You appear caught in a state of restlessness. You’re meant to be reading, but Remus hasn’t seen you turn a page in ages. Your eyes keep unfocusing, your knee bouncing underneath your blanket and your fingers toying absentmindedly with the corner of your page.
Remus supposes your boyfriends haven’t done much to create a relaxing atmosphere in your home tonight. Earlier he’d let Sirius keep an eye on the stove while he minced garlic, and of course that had ended with you and James rushing to open every window near the kitchen to get the smoke alarm to turn off, and even once he’d traded Sirius’ help for James’ there’d been several near-misses with the kitchen knives and his reckless chopping. It also doesn’t help that James and Sirius are in one of their moods where listening to them talk is like watching a tennis match. Trying to keep up could give you whiplash, but luckily you don’t seem to be paying attention as they bicker about whether rugby or cricket is the rougher sport (Sirius is only trying to rile James; James clearly knows this, but he persists nonetheless). Still, it can’t make for nice background noise.
Remus corners the page of his own book and reaches across the space between you, taking your hand. You look up with a smile, pleasantly surprised.
“Alright, lovely?” he asks, fingers dancing up the length of your palm to your wrist.
“I’m good,” you reply softly. “How’s your book?”
“It’s off to a slow start,” Remus admits, “but I’m hoping it’ll pick up soon. How’s yours?”
You look down at the book in your lap. He almost wonders if you’d forgotten it was there. “It’s not bad.”
“Yeah?” He lets his fingers rest over the bump of your pulse, trying not to frown at its quick beat. “You haven’t seemed to be reading much.”
By now your conversation has caught the attention of the other boys, James turning towards you and Sirius tilting his head to see around him.
“Oh,” James says sympathetically, “is it not very good?”
“No, it’s fine.” You look back down at your book, a bit sheepish. “I guess I’m just a little distracted.”
Remus hums knowingly, stroking the back of your hand with his thumb. James’ brow furrows, but Sirius, true to form, asks outright, “Is something the matter?”
You shake your head, seeming a bit perplexed yourself. “No,” you say, “I don’t know what my problem is.”
“You seem a bit strung up,” Remus suggests gently.
“Yeah, but” —you shrug, lips curving halfheartedly— “not for any good reason.”
James makes a woeful pitying sound, wrapping his arms around your middle. “Sweetheart,” he laments, “do you think you might want a cuddle?”
“Sure,” you agree, and your hand is removed from Remus’ as James pulls you into his lap, propping his chin on your shoulder with a pout, “but everything’s really fine, don’t worry.”
Sirius leans his head on the couch cushion, looking at you with eyes sharp and contemplative. “What’s going through your head, pretty girl?” he asks.
James covers your heart with a big hand, frowning at what he feels. You shrug. “I was just thinking about what I have to do tomorrow.”
“You’ve been keeping busy lately,” Remus says. “Maybe you need to take some things off your plate.”
A grimace is fixed upon your face before he’s finished talking. “It all has to get done, though,” you sigh. “No way around it.”
Sirius and Remus exchange a look. “Maybe we can help,” Sirius says.
You shake your head. “There’s nothing you can do,” you insist. “It’s not impossible, I’ve just been lazy and now it’s all piled up and I have to deal with it.” Your voice tenses as you lay it out, and your body with it. “It’s my problem. It’s not great, but I’ll get it done.”
Sirius’ expression twitches into a frown at your increasingly agitated tone, and James gives you a firm squeeze, pressing a kiss into the side of your head.
“Shh, angel, just slow down for a minute. You’re okay right now, aren’t you?”
Some of the frustration slips from your expression. “I’m fine, I just—”
“Then relax.” James’ voice is equal parts gentle and firm. “Take a deep breath.”
You do. You close your eyes, and Remus can almost hear you counting as you inhale through your nose. James and Sirius, for probably the first time all evening, are silent.
You stop breathing in. A small dent forms between your brows.
“I can’t do it all the way,” you say, a slight vulnerability to your voice.
Remus tries to make his low and sure to counter it. “That’s okay, it still counts. Just keep going, love. And maybe hear Sirius out.”
Sirius very obviously fights the urge to gloat at the support, but he softens his preening into a lightly teasing look, narrowing his eyes at you playfully. “As I was saying, there have to be things we can make easier for you. What’s on your to-do list?”
You take in another breath, and James makes a satisfied humming sound against your temple. “I mean, I really have to do laundry.”
“Are you joking?” A grin splits Sirius’ face. “We can do that for you, baby, easy.”
“And I have to finish my project,” you go on, as though determined to prove the impossibility of your tasks, “which will likely take all morning.”
“I’ll be here tomorrow,” James reminds you. “Would it help if I made you breakfast so you don’t have to take the time?”
You look surprised, head turning towards him. “Yeah,” you say. “That would be really helpful, actually.”
“Stubborn thing.” Sirius pinches at your thigh, but Remus catches his hand before it can do any real damage. “Nothing we can do, huh?”
You duck your head sheepishly. Still, Remus can hear your smile when you say, “Sorry, you were right.”
“It happens more often than you’d think, doll. Really astute of you to recognize it, though.”
“For now,” Remus cuts in before Sirius can get to really gloating, “maybe it’s best to just try to relax, dove. Tomorrow’s problems will be manageable, there’s no sense in stressing yourself out tonight.”
“Yeah,” you say, almost shyly. “Sorry, I wasn’t thinking properly.”
“Don’t be sorry, baby,” James chides, tightening his hold on you. “It’s all good now, yeah?”
“Yeah,” you admit.
There’s a brief pause.
“Sorry,” Sirius says, not sounding apologetic in the slightest, “I just want to hear it from your lips one more time. You said I was what?”

Book Club - Part 3
Pairing: Grid X Reader, Lance X Reader
Summary: lewis get a new song inspired by one of the book they read that week, a little lance relationship focused as well
a/n: even as an avid reader, i struggle so much choosing books for this 🥲, sorry if this one sucks
requests open 🫶✨ masterlist
—————————
“Alright boys, get ready to swoon!” You pull out copies of your chosen book, The Dead Romantics. After reading classics and adventure, and thrillers, you chose chick-lit. It had been recommended on other book club chatboards, so you deemed it safe for the guys.
“Same time, same place next week,” Daniel grabs a book and walks out. The rest file out of the motor home, books in hand. You follow Fernando to Aston Martin.
“Lance, your girlfriend is here for you,” Fernando calls for him before you can. “Good choice, I enjoyed this one the last time I read it,” Fernando says before walking to his room, leaving you stunned.
“Hello, mon cœur,” Lance kisses you before grabbing your hand and taking you to his room.
“What is the book this week,” He asks once you cuddle up on the couch. Since he found out about the club, he’s been reading the books with you.
“The Dead Romantics, first one to finish gets to choose the next date,” you hand him his copy before starting your own. Lance’s assistant brings in coffees and breakfast for you both while you read.
“When we get married, would you change your last name, combine ours, let me take yours, or leave our names as is,” Lance asks after a few minutes of comfortable silence.
“Hmm, I like the sound of Y/n Stroll, but maybe I’ll still race under my name,” you decide, paying attention to the books, thinking about the predetermined discussion questions.
“Fuck,” Lance groans after his phone went off, quickly bookmarking his page.
“What’s wrong baby?” you ask, bookmarking yours as well.
“I have a meeting with Dad in a few minutes,”
“Oh, want me to come along? I love your dad,” you run your fingers through his fluffy hair.
“It’s okay, it’ll take a while. You are more than welcome to stay here or go and get ready for the drivers parade. Either way, I will see you after,” he kisses you before gathering a couple things and heading out. You finish another chapter and head to your motorhome, dressing yourself in team gear and redoing your hair. Lance waits for you outside your team garage.
By next week, you both have finished the book and have been raving about it to people, you even sent a copy to George. You won the challenge, although you were sure Lance let you win.
“Have fun at your meeting, you are literally bouncing in excitement,” Lance laughs, kissing the side of your head and leaving you in front of Haas’ hospitality. You quickly find the club, who are equally happy with your pick.
“That was the best romance book I’ve read in a while,” Daniel starts off.
“It was my second time reading it. Much better than the first time,” Fernando agrees.
“And the plot twist!” Nico gasps, all of you nodding along.
“I wrote a song about it,” Lewis says nonchalantly, causing you all to pause.
“Lew… what?” You can’t imagine how one would write a song about it. The book was good, but it wasn’t Shakespeare.
“Yeah, the broken hearts, the forbidden nature of their love, separated by the paranormal, the spiciness of the ending. It inspired me, almost like all those songs for Fifty Shades of Grey,” Lewis explains.
“I don’t know how that would work, but I am sure that you made it work,” Kevin says as Lewis pulls out his phone.
You heard some of his music before, and you knew he could sing and his writing was pretty good. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The singing was great, but the lyrics were a little too… sappy for his style. It wasn’t even sensual, he was just singing about falling in love with someone you shouldn’t.
“That was great, Lewis,” Daniel encourages Lewis,
“If racing doesn’t work out, maybe you will have a career in music,” Valtteri offers, maybe you were the only one who wasn’t a fan.
“He already does, he was featured on a song,” Fernando rushes to pull it up on his phone. You swear he is the proud father of everyone in the room.
“Oh! We should do karaoke!” you gasp, excited at the thought.
“I like the way you think,” Daniel grins at you. It is usually never a good thing when you both get excited about an idea, it tends to end up with alcohol and regret, but never fails to be fun.
“My liver can take that right now, I would participate,” Checo says, leading the group in agreeing.
You and the other drivers rent out a bar the next night and make sure karaoke is set up, Lando DJs in the meantime.
“I’m going to sing my song!” Lewis tells you over your jolly rancher shots.
“Slay!” you cheers the shots, tap the glass to the bar, and take the shot. “I think I’m gonna sing Post Malone,” you reply, and Lewis drags you to sign up. Lance appears beside you, slipping an arm around your waist as he looks at the paper.
“Babe, what song is ‘Why Don’t You Love Me’, I have never seen it on an album,” Lance asks and you tell him its origin. “Oh, that’s funny, I’ll film it,” he writes both of your names down for Total Eclipse of the Heart.
A few shots later and Lewis kicks it off with his song, it is actually a lot better drunk. You follow him up with the meme song, getting everyone laughing, before Lance joins you. The two of you surprisingly sounded very good when you rewatched the video the next day, then posted it to your Instagram story.
“Never. Again.” Kevin groans the next morning as Valtteri walks in, excited to talk with the group.
“That was fun! When are we doing that again?”

You sighed, “I wish more people in the world cared about Roblox… it saved my life, bro.”
“That was easily one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard you say.”
“What?”
“I said-”
“EVER! Wanna play COD Mobile instead?”
“Bruh, that game is so mid.”
You scoffed at his remark, bringing a flared hand to your chest. “I’m goated at COD mobile, averaging like 100 kills per match. People praise me for that.”
“Because it doesn’t take skill?” He made it sound like a question, when he was really making a statement.
“Mkay. I bet I’d still whoop your ass on console, but we don’t have to go there.”
A hint of ambition sparkled in his eyes at the challenge. “Oh yeah? And what are we betting here?”
“Hmm,” you thought for a moment, “If you win, I’ll fix you a victory snack.”
He nodded at the enticing offer, “And if you win? Which you won’t, but-”
“The bragging rights will be enough for me, but you could always fix the broken shower head in my bathroom so I can stop using yours,” you interrupted confidently.
Jungwon forgot all about how you broke your shower head last week. You told him it was an innocent mistake, but his mind obviously wandered to other places once you told him. By now though, he had already gotten used to sharing a bathroom with you, so he didn’t feel any urgency to repair it. Still and all, he understood how you might want your private space back. “Ok. Fair enough,” Jungwon agreed.
He handed you a controller, waiting for you to join him at the loading screen. Setting up your gear and choosing what weapon you wanted, the match eventually started. Needless to say, you didn’t stand a chance against Jungwon and his team of CPU’s, feeling sore from defeat.
A prideful smile waved over his features, showcasing his prominent dimples. “Sooo,” he began, “I would like your leftover Twix bar from the fridge cut up over two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Don’t forget the sprinkles.”
You pouted, handing him the overheating controller. “I’m not fixing you a damn thing. You probably cheated!”
His eyebrows raised, “First of all, cheating is for weenies. Second of all, a deals a deal!”
“Ugh, fine. I’m charging tips, by the way.”
“Not a chance, crook. Unless,” he caught your attention as you got up from the living room couch, “you wanna go for another round?”
“No, that’s alright. I think I'm gonna just watch you play the game for now. You could invite Heeseung, too, if you want.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah. I’ll be back, okay? I gotta use the bathroom real quick.”
Walking into the bathroom, you closed the door behind you, taking off the bra that had been killing your back for the past 12 hours. You didn’t know where else to put it, so you hid it under Jungwon’s bathroom cabinet before leaving.
“When do you ever wanna play games with me? Are you with Riki or something?” Heeseung asked from the headset.
“No, I’m with ____. She needs some testosterone in her life and wants to watch us play I guess.”
“I can think of a few ways to help her with that,” Jungwon could hear the smirk in Heeseung’s voice.
“Shut the fuck up and join me already.”
“What? It’s not like you’ll ever have the balls to make a move on her, anyway,” Heeseung chuckled. “How long have you know her for again?”
“Since the first day of college.”
“Damn, and you’ve barely even grazed first base.”
“She’s still sacrificing her free time to hang out with me, so I don’t see the loss here?”
“Look, buddy. Your rizz needs an upgrade. These cute little gaming nights you have every weekend needs an upgrade. Your wardrobe needs an upgra-”
“I get it, asshole.”
You came back with the snack he requested, eliciting a dramatic applause from your goofy ahh friend.
“Your majesty,” you bowed playfully, placing the bowl of ice cream on the desk in front of him.
You filled in the space next to him, resting an elbow on the arm of the sofa, your nipples now on full display through your thin shirt.
“Are you cold,” Jungwon asked, eyes not quite meeting yours. You meant to reply, but he was already reaching his hand out to grope your chest, using a thumb to smooth out your hardened buds with his warm touch. You eyes widened in shock.
“Woah- mmm, n-no, I’m okay” you stuttered, Jungwon smirking at how flustered you appeared.
What the actual fuck was that!?, you thought to yourself.
He went back to casually talking with Heeseung again as if he didn’t just rub your nipples…
You usually enjoyed watching Jungwon play the game, but now, you couldn’t take your eyes off of Jungwon’s pretty hands. The way his delicate thumbs maneuvered the joystick of the controller sent your mind into a daze.
“Hold up, Hee, I’m gonna put you on mute for a sec,” Jungwon said, handing you his controller before mouthing the words “play for me” with a catty smirk. He adjusted his headset over your head, bringing a finger up to your seal your lips. “Shhh,” he warned.
You knew Heeseung wasn’t actually on mute because there was an open mic symbol on the corner of the screen.
What’s he up to now?, you wondered.
Kneeling between your legs with greed, Jungwon’s fingers tiptoed to the waistband of your shorts. He paused before asking, “is this okay?," and you simply nodded in response. He smiled, tugging your shorts and underwear past your hips, knees, and ankles, stuffing them under the sofa.
He gawked at your wetness, your lips swollen with need. Heeseung started the match, and that’s when Jungwon started taking kitten nips at the sensitive flesh between your thighs, leaving a few marks. He blew at your heat before finally using his fingers to explore your folds.
“Cute,” he must’ve noticed the way your pussy pulsed in anticipation. Attaching his lips to your throbbing clit, he sucked it into his mouth, alternating with his fingers when breaking for air. He hummed at your taste, adding to the pleasurable sensations.
You tried focusing on the game for Jungwon’s sake, but you couldn’t resist the urge to reach for a handful of his hair and gently grind against his face.
“You’re doing so good for me, baby, just stay focused,” he said in between slurping at your wetness that never sounded so foul til now.
Did he just call me baby?
He inserted a finger into your tight hole and started pumping in and out of you, curling up to stimulate your g-spot. You were struggling to keep your moans in, rolling your eyes to the back of your head as he finger-fucked you. He looked up, noticing that you had fully abandoned the controller. “Keep playing or I won’t let you finish,” he purred.
“Fuck,” you panted quietly, how do you expect me to do that?”
“Don’t make me repeat myself, ____.”
You picked up the controller and started playing again. Heeseung was now swearing over the mic like a madman. “Bro, you’re really not helping out our stats here by letting the enemy clap your cheeks,” he scolded, but you weren’t really paying attention to his voice anyway. Jungwon dove back into your heat, licking rough stripes against your clit as he inserted a second finger. “Mngh,“ you mumbled dizzily, clenching around him.
“What?” Heeseung asked confused, having heard your noise.
You reached to mute the headset, but Jungwon gave you a look that told you not to test him. You gave in, and succeeded in holding back your whimpers, but your heavy breathing continued.
“Dude, I’m literally never playing the game with you agai- HOW THE FUCK DID I JUST GET DIED?”
One last thrust of Jungwon’s fingers, and you were finally coming undone, shaking from the intense wave of pleasure that washed over you. Slender fingers glided in and out of your needy hole, his knuckles adding to the delightful stretch. The match ended shortly after you came down from your high.
Jungwon licked his fingers clean of you and swapped the controller back. “Sorry about that, hyung. I was eating and didn’t wanna disturb you,” he lied, readjusted the headset on himself.
“Well, I hope it was worth it. Our team forfeited on some elite rewards.”
“You’re welcome,” he teased, which you didn’t know if it was meant for you or Heeseung, because he leaned in to kiss your lips softly, before going in for another match.
Still feeling your orgasm fresh in your viens, you reached under the couch to grab your shorts and underwear, putting them on and getting up from the sofa.
“Hey, what’s up,” Jungwon asked while taking a spoonful of the half-melted sundae into his mouth.
“I-I’m just gonna shower... and maybe go to bed after.”
“Alright. Me and Hee are gonna play one more match and I’ll be in after you. Don’t take long!”
"Dude, you’re abandoning me already? I thoughtyou were gonna help me take these punks to skill-ville," Heeseung whined over the mic.
"You need to immediately repent for saying that," Jungwon cringed.
You made your way to his bathroom with a change of clothes, closing the door behind you.
You entered the shower, trying to wash off the growing heat between your legs and any dirty thoughts associated with your roommate. A few minutes in, you also decided to wash your hair as it had been a week since that last time you did.
That’s when you heard the door open and close, followed by the sounds of clothes being removed and tossed on the bathroom floor. You peeked from the shower curtain, only to find a naked Jungwon standing right there. He didn’t notice you looking, so you pushed the shower curtain back.
“The shower is occupied at the moment, Wonie!”
“I know,” he smirked, entering the shower from the opposite end as if this was yet another casual ordeal.
“May I,” he asked, pointing to the spot you were standing at in the shower. “Oh, sure” you replied, trying not to make things awkward. He reached for the bottle of shampoo and started lathering the honey scented product in his hair and skin. You tried to avoid taking anymore peeks at his toned body so you busied yourself with a loofa and cleansed your skin for what felt a hundred times. By now, you sat idly in the corner of the shower, with bubbles waiting to be rinsed from your body. “Here,” Jungwon motioned for you to return to your original spot. “Thanks,” you said. “Would’ve been nice if you said that earlier,” he poked.
Oh shit.
“Here, let me help you,” he offered, rinsing off the soapy suds that painting your shoulders and back. Somehow, this gesture relaxed you. “Now turn around for me.” You faced him with a chest covered in bubbles. He quickly rinsed your breasts before lowering the shower head to your private, adjusting the water pressure from low to medium.
You could hardly stand up straight from the pressure building up at your center. The throbbing sensation between your legs travelled up to your quivering lips. You moved a hand to cover your mouth, hiding your lewd sounds. Jungwon didn’t mind though, because your squirming is what excited him the most. “Hold still, ____,” he teased, putting the water pressure on high.
Bracing your balance with his free arm, his soft lips met your damp neck, nibbling at the skin. The sensation was so sweet that you finally let your moans out. Developing a mind of its own, your hand reached down to stroke Jungwon’s hardness, a lustful look staining his features.
He groaned into your ear, making you feel more than half crazy. You felt your climax creeping up on you as it became harder to stand up or keep still. Starting to pump him faster, both of you were now on the verge of bussing.
A little voice in your head slapped you back into reality.
This has to stop! He’s my roommate!
You turned the water off from the faucet on the wall, retreating your hand from his member as if it tased you. Grabbing a towel from the curtain rod and covering yourself, you left Jungwon alone in the bathroom.
You went to your room and started to dry yourself off. You couldn’t quite wrap your head around what was happening but a part of you liked it and another part knew it was inappropriate.
You just touched Jungwon’s dick, and yes, it felt really fucking nice, but the thought will likely haunt you til the day you die. He was a good friend of yours, and you didn’t wanna let fleeting feelings ruin it.
You put on the scented lotion from your nightstand followed by your clothes before plopping in your bed. You didn’t bother locking your door because you never had you to worry about Jungwon intruding your privacy. Or at least, that was before today.
You buried yourself under the covers before a trail of footsteps made their way from the bathroom to your bedroom door.
Creak.
The door opened and closed.
Click.
He locked it.
Walking over to your bed, Jungwon sat behind you.
“I know you’re awake, so stop pretending,” he whispered in your ear.
Annoyed, you threw the covers off your head, giving him an exhausted look.
“What do you want, Jungwon? Huh?”
“I could always just show you,” he said, flashing you the sluttiest eyes you’ve ever seen on a man.
“You could’ve waited for me to finish up in the shower before barging in like that.”
“No, I really couldn’t.”
“We’re roommates, Won! Hell, we’re friends!”
“And? What does that have to do with anything?”
“You can’t just fondle my tits whenever you want to, or eat me out on the couch when you’re bored, or join me in the shower because you’re impatient.”
You let that sink in for a moment.
“Did you not like it when I did those things to you? Did you not like the way I made you feel,” he inquired, inching closer towards you on the bed. “Because the way I remember it, you never told me to stop.”
The room fell so quiet that your heartbeat sounded loud.
He reached over to grip your thigh, leaning in for a kiss before shoving his tongue past your lips, but you pulled away.
“Jungwon stop!” You reprimanded, turning your head from him.
He grabbed your chin and proceeded to kiss you.
“Jungwon, I said stop...”
“I can tell you didn’t mean it.”
He continued kissing you, shoving his hand into you panties and going straight to your pussy, sliding his digits up and down your moist folds, sending an ache through your stomach.
“Fuck, baby, you’re so wet for me.”
He called you baby. Again!
He didn’t waste any time to rub circles around your sensitive bud, causing your hips to jerk toward him.
“Stop it!” You raised your voice, pushing him away by his throat. Your hand never looked so small til now.
“Then make me.”
“What?”
“You know I don’t like repeating myself, ____.”
Darkness waved over both your features as you pressed his back flush against the bed, reaching for his drawstring and pulling his sweat pants down. He wasn’t wearing any boxers, so his pink tip sprung up, clear fluid leaking from the tip.
You grabbed his dick, giving it a firm stroke before grazing your teeth down his shaft, eliciting the prettiest whimper you’d ever heard from his mouth. The texture of his veins ran against your tongue as you took half of him into your mouth, using your hand to stimulate the base.
Your head bounced up and down as Jungwon grew dangerously desperate. Tapping your cheek, he guided you off of him to take a breath. Cradling your head in his grasp, he slid you back down until your lips reached his pelvis. “Hollow your cheeks for me, and breath through your nose,” he guided before using your head to please him. Your eyes began to water as his tip hit the back of your throat, causing you to gag a few times, but he ignored it.
“I’m so close, baby, just keep taking me,” he nearly begged, chest heaving as he screwed his eyes shut, “Be a good girl for me, mmm,” he grunted, picking up the pace.
You were getting used to being called “baby” by now.
“F-fuck,” he whimpered, bursting his load into your mouth. He lifted your head from his throbbing heat, using a thumb to wipe the cum that dribbled from the corner of your mouth. You went back down to taste his release, only for him to guide your head away.
“Don’t eat that, ____,” he giggled, but you swiped a finger to collect some of his cum anyway.
“It’s only fair, Wonie. Now we’ve both tasted each other.”
You went to the bathroom to wash your hands, coming back with a few tissues to help clean him up. Something about this dirty moment seemed so pure. So right.
“Okay, I’m going to bed for real this time, see you tomorrow,” you smiled, getting under your covers.
“You don’t expect me to go back to my room, do you,” he asked, giving you a look.
“Well, tonight, I’ll let it slide, but if you end up breaking your bed, don’t expect visitation privileges.”
“Thank you,” he let out a breath, smiling as he snuggled under the covers beside you.
“Jungwon?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you think Heeseung has any idea about what we did?”
Ding.
Jungwon’s phone vibrated in his pocket:
Text Message from “Heenis” — Jake ditched me for a hoe 👍🥲 wanna call?
A mischievous smirk poked at the corners of Jungwon’s lips, “He can find out.”
“WONIE, IF YOU COME ANY CLOSER, I SWEAR YOU’RE SLEEPING IN YOUR OWN BED TONIGHT!”

Joel stares at the ceiling. It’s sure a hospital ceiling alright. Grey tiles, fluorescent lights, a steady beep in the background. Great. He’s in the hospital his first day in town. He’s sure that bodes well for the future of his time in Hermiton, truly. What had he been saying to himself before he arrived? That he just had to survive one more year of high school and then he could go be a hermit in the woods or at least pass his exams to get that architecture degree he used to dream about.
“Oh, you’re awake! You’re the last to wake up. It’s just exhaustion, don’t worry. That always happens the first few times you summon your Persona. Your body gets used to it and stops trying to force you into the ground the moment you enter Real Space again eventually.”
He tries very hard not to groan out loud. If he doesn’t move or make any noise, maybe the weird guy won’t notice he’s awake. Maybe he’ll go away and like, whatever adult in town is currently supposed to be in charge of him will show up and sign some paperwork and Joel can leave.
There’s a long, awkward silence.
“You know, I can tell you’re awake. I already said so,” the stranger says.
“Shut up, I’m trying to make you go away,” Joel says.
The stranger snorts. “What, you don’t want information on your two friends you apparently risked your life to save?”
Joel… would kind of like that information, actually, but he’s not just going to say so.
“It’s not like I know them. I’ve been here five days. Idiot,” Joel says.
“I don’t know. Seems a lot like you know them,” the stranger says. “You’ll probably get to know them even more soon, after we do an assessment to make sure it’s safe for you all to enter Altered Space. It’s just been me and Scar for so long, I didn’t think other Persona users would ever show up!”
“What,” Joel says. “I don’t believe in Personas. They’re stupid. I was lucid dreaming. This is stupid.”
“Can’t you still hear yours? I think I’d go insane if I stopped.”
Yes.
“No.”
“Well then, maybe you’re the weak one. A strong Persona user would definitely still hear their Persona,” the stranger says, and look man, Joel doesn’t want to be doing this, but he can’t let ‘maybe you’re the weak one’ stand. It’s a matter of honor. Of pride.
“No, buzz off. I’m the strong one. I didn’t just awaken Pygmalion, I kicked ass using Pygmalion. Stupid Skizz and Impulse passed out immediately. And I was the only one who knew how to get to Skizz so, so, screw you, I’m super strong with your fake brain ghost thing.”
The stranger is quiet for a long moment. “Did you say you knew how to get to Skizz?”
“Yeah you just follow the evil butterflies. You should know, since you’re crazy,” Joel says.
“Oh my god,” the stranger says. “Oh my god. This changes everything.”
Something sinks in Joel’s stomach. “Wait, what does that—”
“I have to go tell Mr. Hills. Meet us when you get out of here, a doctor should let you out once you’re awake! But I have to tell him! Being able to preemptively find entrances to Altered Space! Fighting off a shadow and rescuing people your first time summoning a Persona! Me and Scar won’t have to be alone anymore!”
“No, I, uh, was lying, stop that,” Joel says unconvincingly.
“See you!” the stranger says.
“You forgot to tell me what happened to Skizz,” Joel says, finally sitting up to try to stop the stranger, but it’s too late. He’s already gone. Joel stares blankly after the space where he’d once been.
“You also forgot to tell me your name, you moron,” Joel says weakly.
He buries his head in his hands, breathes, and calls the nurse. If his strange classmate isn’t going to tell him what’s actually happening, then Joel’s going to find out for himself.
(Power throbs beneath a scar on his hand. A voice whispers agreeing remarks in the back of his head. He has way too many aches and pangs for last night—or, well, however many nights ago it was now—to be fake. But for now, he just wants to know Skizz is okay and go back to his stupid apartment and pretend none of this happened. Is that too much to ask?)

Fake Week
Tumblr media
“What kind of sicko are you Kane? I will not wear this… this butt plug. Its bad enough I have to pretend to be your girlfriend for a month so you’ll stop bullying Kevin but I’m not going indulge you in this sick game and wear some lewd sex toy of yours. I don’t care if this is what all your exes did! You’ll knock it down to just a week if I do? Alright fine but I’m cleaning it first. Maybe cleaning it more than once.”
Tumblr media
“Are you happy now Kane? No you don’t get to check it! No wonder you’re single, you’re such a creep! Oh sure you wanted to see it was fitting fine and not hurting me? Yeah right how stupid do you think I am? And besides it fits perfectly, like really perfect actually. I uh got to go.”
Tumblr media
“Yeah so what if I’m putting on makeup? I figured if I’m going to sell being your girlfriend I should probably start looking like those vapid bitches you are used to dating. Plus this is so easy, don’t know why I didn’t try it before. It’s just an act, you’re still a creep and once today is done I’ll be one day closer to not having to pretend to be your girlfriend!”
Tumblr media
“It’s called yoga Kane. All you exes are flexible, athletic bitches so I thought I might as well act like I care about this stuff. I have to say though I’ve seen such a crazy improvement in just a few hours. It’s like magic! I can stretch and twist like never before and I’ve seen improvements in other areas too. Areas I see you’re checking out you cheeky bastard. I guess it is a pretty amazing ass now so I’ll allow it but don’t get any ideas, I’m just your fake girlfriend for 5 more days.”
Tumblr media
“I never noticed how long my hair had gotten lately, it was getting in my face all the time during yoga so I decided to put it into a high ponytail, you know like one of your exes, and it’s so freeing. I used to think it was so bitchy looking but now honestly I think it’s sexy like this don’t you think? Of course you agree, I can see that bulge in your pants ‘babe’. Hmmm it’s kind of hawt seeing someone other that Kevin be turned on by me. Even with him it’s so few and far between lately. Maybe in four days when I’m back to being his girlfriend he’ll like this new hairstyle.”
Tumblr media
“Ugh why are my so called friends so annoying today? They were complaining that I was saying mean things about Margo. All I said was if she wanted to ever get a guy she should maybe lay off the ice cream once and awhile. It’s not my fault the fatty started to cry. She should thank me for being honest with her. I should be more honest with the lot of them and kick them to the curb but they’re the only friends I’ve got. You’ve heard Amber and Mercedes want to be friends with me? The two biggest bully’s in school, but they are pretty cool and fashionable unlike these other dweebs. Maybe I’ll give them a text, thanks for the encouragement…. babe.”
Tumblr media
“You were right about Amber and Mercedes. We texted all day yesterday and met up at the mall and went shopping. They convinced me to throw out all my lame clothes and buy a totally new look. It’s mostly pink and tight and sexy as hell. They also convinced me about something else. About you. I’ve been such a brat to you these past few days and you’ve been nothing but a gentleman to me. It’s time you got some sort of reward for your troubles. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t going to be a reward for me too. Just stand there looking handsome as hell and I’ll do the rest.”
Tumblr media
“Hey baby, last night was mmmm really hawt but don’t tell anyone ok? I don’t want Kevin to know that I cheated on him last night… or this morning… or in your car later today. I can’t help it if you can’t keep your hands off me. I mean who can blame you? Plus you are MY boyfriend for two more days. Of course I told Amber and Mercedes though, they’re my besties, I had to tell them. Plus they were so impressed by what a bitchy thing my cheating was that they made me their new leader. Wasn’t your ex their old leader? Well I’m going to being even badder and bitchier than she was. Mmm that’s making me so horny. Fuck it let’s go to your car now.”
Tumblr media
“Last day of our ‘relationship’. It’s only right that we get all the fucking in that we can. Glad to see your stamina is up to the task. Kevin wouldn’t last a fraction that you are capable of. What a fucking loser, can’t believe I have to go back to him tomorrow. Why am I doing this again? To stop you bullying him? He deserves to be bullied and you’re soooo hawt doing it. I never admitted since putting in the butt plug I’ve been touching myself at night thinking about you wailing on him. You’re so much more of a man than he ever will be. You know what? Fuck him. I deserve a strong, mean, and hot as hell boyfriend and you deserve a bitchy queen bee of a girlfriend. Kevin deserves to be the victim. Forgot our deal, I’m yours for good now and Kevin is all yours.”
Tumblr media
“Oh the jacket? It belongs to my boyfriend, Kane. You know, your bully? Me date you? As if loser, I’ve always been Kane’s girl and always will. It’s like I was made for him. You’re just some simping creep who’s wanted in my panties for years. Everyone knows it, because my beta besties Amber and Mercedes are telling them right now. Those two can spread news like wildfires. You’ll be a pariah by the end of the day. Kane will be cheered on for bullying you. Mmmm speaking of which here he comes. Don’t forget to cry, it makes me so wet when you do.”

Tumblr media

summary: chris and reader are best friends but will one halloween party change that?
i’m sitting in the car with the triplets and we’re playing smash or pass for there youtube channel. chris wouldn’t shut up about betty boop and how she was bad as fuck.
“chris that’s actually crazy we’re not talking literally” i say laughing at him from the backseat. nick then starts laughing as chris starts to defend himself. “i said what i said she bad” i roll my eyes and tell matt to go to the next one.
“smash or pass.. steve harrington from stranger things” matt said looking at me and nick. i look to matt an smile as i speak “smash 100% he could” before i could finish chris spoke “i thought this wasn’t literal” i closed my mouth holding in my laugh. “i don’t care smash all day everyday” i said while the boys mouths were wide open.
as the video ended matt drove back to their apartment. we arrived as i got out the car and wrapped my arms around chris pulling him into a hug since him and matt just argued. he hugged back and took a deep breath in as he wrapped his arms around my waist. “come on it’s alright” i say grabbing his hand dragging him inside.
i walk to the kichen his hand still in mine as i sat next to nick and chris stood behind me while matt was getting a drink. “are we going to nessas halloween party? madi said shes going” nick says looking up from his phone. “i’m always down to get dressed up and i think i have a costume in mind” i spoke leaning back on the chair looking up at chris as he started speaking. “i think i have something in mind too” he looks down at me smiling.
chris grab a pepsi from the fridge as nick and matt both said their goodnights to us. “ready to go to bed i’m exhausted” i say tilting my head at chris as he shuts the fridge. “yeah i’m ready ma” chris said with a raspy voice. i bit my lip as he starts to walk upstairs while i follow behind.
he opens the door as i walk to his draw and got out some of my pajamas because i tend to stay here a lot i’ve know these boys for to long. l start to take off my pants and shirt leaving me in my underwear and bra. chris is sitting on the bed watching me as i look at him in the mirror he smirks at me as i put my head down blushing. i put just a baggy t-shirt on as i go to lay next to him.
i pull the blanket up on us as chris puts his head in my chest. i put my hand in his hair as i drifted off to sleep.
*the day of the party*
i facetime nick because he wanted to get ready on facetime. “heyy nick im actually so excited” i say smiling. “i know i haven’t been to a party in awhile so i’m a little nervous” he said back. “yes exactly i feel like im gonna look like such a slut” i speak as i pull my makeup out. “i promise you’ll look good if people think other wise they can fuck themselfs” nick said reassuring me. i laughed as i struggled to get out a thank you.
i finish my makeup as nick is putting on his costume. “nick i will see you in like 30 minutes i have to do my hair and put my dress on, and remember no showing me what you’re dressed as we all agreed to keep it a secret” i say. “i know i know see you in a bit” he said rolling his eyes sarcastically. “okayy i love uu” i said screaming into the phone. “i love you too” he screamed back. i hung up the phone as i started to play music.
i started to do my hair jamming out to my playlist chris created for me. as i finish my hair and slowly start to take all the pieces for my costume out of the box. i put my red dress on looking at myself in the mirror and turning around looking how good my body looked. i slipped on the red garter to my thigh an putt my heels on. i sent a text to nick letting him know i’ll be there soon.
i hopped in my car an started to drive to the place the party was being held turning up the radio. i pulled up as i looked around to see all the cars outside. i parked my car as i got out grabbing my purse walking to the door.
as i walked in i saw nessa and madi so i knew the triplets had to be here. i walked up to them. “you guys look so good” i said hugging them. “omg girl you are so hot” madi says pulling way. “thank you mads but do you know where the boys are?”i question. she point her fingers over to the kitchen. i nod my head as i say my goodbyes.
i slowly walk into the kitchen and i lock eyes with matt who’s jaw is on the floor as i put my finger to my lips telling him to shoosh because i wanted to surprise chris. before i could walk behind chris someone stopped me.
“hey how have you been!” i turned around to see who it was. it was an old friend of mine he went to my highschool. “where’s time gone you look so grown but i’m doing good how about you?” i ask looking up at him. i feel a stare behind but i choose to ignore it.
“i’m good it’s been so long since i’ve seen you and you look amazing” he spoke flirtatiously. my smile dropped realizing he was trying to make a move. “thank you it was nice seeing you” i said as i gave him a small hug as his hands wrapped around my waist but i pulled away right then and there.
i waved at him as i turned around my eyes met a very sexy steve harrington who has his jaw clenched. i walk my way over to the triplets and put my hands out giving a “surprise” look. “omg! you look actually so amazing” nick said pulling me into a hug. “mr harrington over here couldn’t stop looking at you” matt laughed as he pulled me into a hug as well.
i laugh as i pull away and make it to chris. his reaction changes as he takes me in looking me from top to bottom as he licks his lips. i look up to him with doe eyes as i put my hands around his neck pulling him into a hug. he wraps his hand right above my ass.
“like what you see mr harrington” i whisper in his ear as i pull away arms still wrapped around his neck. he looks down onto he as his hands slowly move down my ass. “i love what i see mrs betty boop” he whispers back.
i look to my left and realize nick and matt are gone i giggle as i turn back to chris. i grab his hand as i lead him outside where we can get away from everyone. “i can’t believe you dressed up as steve like i could kiss you right now” i said looking up at him. “why don’t you? … or do you want that other guy in there. he sure wanted a piece of you.” chris spoke with a tang of anger.
“why would i want him when i have you” i said licking my lips looking back and forth between his lips and eyes. he rises his hand to my cheek closing the gap between us connecting our lips. i wrap my hand in his hair slightly tugging as his hand moved from my face to my neck squeezing lightly.
i moaned against his lips as he slips his tounge into my mouth as we fought for dominance, him obviously winning. his other hand sliding down my dress kneading my ass in his hand. i tilt my head back as he replaced his hand with his lips on my neck.
“as much as i love and appreciate this outfit i need to get it off of you” chris looked down at me as i bit my lip. he grabbed my hand and ran to find an empty room. as we reach a room completely empty he shut the door and locked it connecting our lips once again.
my hands went under his shirt feeling his torso and chest as i pulled it over his head. he unzipped my dress as i step out of it his pants are tossed on the floor with it. i reach for my thigh to take my garter chris stops me. “leave it on” he spoke demanding. i nod my head as i slowly start to kneel on the ground.
chris groans from the way he doesn’t even need to tell you what to do. i pull down his boxers watching his hard dick bounce onto his torso. i pump him with my hand as he steps on out his boxers. “come on ma.. put that pretty mouth to use” he said putting his hand on my head not messing up my hair.
i reply with taking him in my mouth as he threw his head back with a moan. i started to bop my head up and down with his hand guiding me. “as much as i’m enjoying this i want to cum in that pretty pussy of yours” he spoke grabbing my hand pulling me up.
he reconnected our lips and picked me up. i wrapped my legs around him as he took me to the bed and laid me down. he started planting light bruises on my neck as he made his way down and unclipped my bra. “you’re the prettiest girl i’ve see in my life” he said hands groping my boobs.
i whine out at his actions as he tongue meets my nipples sucking. his hand reach farther down and get to my side as he pops of my nipple leaving kisses along my torso. i bring my hand down to move his hair so i could see his face.
he reached my pussy as he took my underwear an put it in his pocket as he opened my legs. my pussy on full display for me glistening from the light as he used two fingers to spread it open. “you’ve been hiding this beautiful thing from me” he spoke rubbing my clit.
i moan as my hand reaches farther into his hair almost tugging. “gonna be a good girl for me and let me eat you out.” he said putting a finger in me. my head titled back “yes i’ll be good.. just please chris” i desperately whispered.
he went in bringing his lips and tounge to my clit while pumping a finger in and out of me. i grip his hair as i roll my eyes back. he groans against me sending a vibration through my whole body.
he adds a second finger going a little faster this time as i moan out his name. “chris! .. fuck i’m bout to cum please!” i almost scream out. he pulls away from now taking his fingers out and rubbing my clit. “not yet baby i wanna fuck it out of you” i moan at his words as he towers over me.
he gives me a kiss before flipping me on my stomach so i’m face down ass up. he lets me get comfortable before slowly putting his dick in me. i groan against the pillow as his hands grip my hips. he sets a slow pace groaning while going in and out.
“god you’re so tight ma.. i’m gonna go a little faster now” he spoke. i nodded my head eagerly needing him to go faster. he rocked me back and forth against him as he’s hand came down to grip my hair. “fuck.. just like that chris!” i grip the sheets underneath my fingers.
“such a slut.. wanting me to be rough with you” he said tightening his hand that was in hair. “yes chris i’m your slut” i breathlessly spoke. “just mine” he whispered bringing me up so my back was against his chest. i turn my head to lock lips with him as one of us hands wrapped around neck and other around my torso keeping me stable.
all i could hear was unsteady moans, skin slapping, and the music faintly from downstairs. i cleached around him as he moans into my lips. i dragged my arm behind his head gripping a hold of him as he pounded into me. “shit chris! im not gonna last much longer” i spoke tilting my head back.
“it’s okay baby let it out i’m right behind ya” he said dragging his hand from my neck to my clit rubbing in circles. i close my eyes as my hand clings onto his hair slightly pulling. “oh god chris” i almost screamed out as i let myself go.
i clenched around him as my legs started to slight shake as he filled me up moaning in my ear. “what a good girl letting me just stuff you” he said letting me catch my breath. he pulled out and laid us down on the bed.
i was about to fall asleep until i heard nick scream “chris and y/n! where are you guys, we need to take pictures!” chris chuckled as he looked over to me putting his hand out so we could get up. i groan as i take his hand and get up tossing him his clothes.
i start to put my whole outfit on for a second time today as i looked up to see chris fully dressed behind me zipping up my dress. i smile at him as i turn around and kiss him. “come on ma wouldn’t want them waiting” he smirked as i nod my head. i look at myself in the mirror and surprisingly, my hair was still good, but my lipstick was ruined.
we walked outside the room with chris’s arm around my waist. “there you guys are come on we need to hurry” nick said smiling pulling us downstairs. i interlock my hands with chris as we walked to all of our friends.

Truth (Leah Williamson x Reader)
Tumblr media
Being a lioness was a dream, being able to play for your country was a dream, playing for Arsenal was a dream but being in love with Leah Williamson was at the top of that list. She was easy to fall for, that's why just months after your shocking transfer from Manchester United to Arsenal, you decided to make the first move. Awkwardly asking Leah on a date after a hard training session definitely wasn’t what you had in mind but after seeing her sweet smile, you knew you made the right choice, you also knew you were going to protect this new found relationship with your life. You hadn’t meant to keep the relationship a secret, it just kind of happened after your first date, you and Leah both agreed to keep it between yourselves to see where it was going.  After a year of dating, still only your families knew, it’s not that you and Leah don’t want people knowing, you just both never got around to telling people assuming they already knew or figured it out.
You were currently travelling to camp, unfortunately separate to Leah and the other arsenal girls as you had gone to see your family the day before camp was meant to start. Rush-hour traffic was definitely starting to get on your nerves as you began nearing to camp stuck in masses of cars.
Arriving at camp about an hour later, everyone was crowding around in the lobby greeting each other and waiting for Sarina to come and announce the rooms for this camp. Sluggishly walking towards Leah, waving towards the girls as you walked past.
‘Look who's finally turned up!’ Beth teased, wrapping you in a tight embrace, ‘alright Meado, you saw me a day ago,’ you chuckled lightly pulling out of her embrace.
‘Hello, sweet girl.’ A familiar voice spoke behind you before pulling you into her, turning in her embrace you replied ‘Hi Lee, I’ve missed you.’ Leah’s arms around you tightened, ‘I missed you too.’
‘You missed her but not me, Y/N  you wounded me, I can’t believe this,’ Beth pouted behind us, turning quickly, ‘I’ll make it up to you, Beffy!’ you bargained while lightly tapping her cheek.
‘Hello girls,’ a dutch accent called out in front of us, all of you turning to look, ‘I hope you all had a safe trip over, I will be putting the list of roommates on the wall over here, keys are at the main desk, remember dinner's at 6 and we will be having team bonding tonight the games room, everyone go have some rest before coming down for dinner, I’ll see you later.’ Sarina stated while sticking the list of roommates on the wall next to the reception desk.
Slowly walking over to the list of roommates, you skimmed over the list looking for your name which was found next to Lucy Bronze, quickly searching for Leah’s name as well you find her next to her regular roommate Georgia Stanway.
Saying a quick goodbye to the arsenal girls, you find Lucy who already had the key waiting for you, ‘If it isn't Y/N Y/L/N.’ Lucy inquired with a devious look in her eye, ‘Well if it isn't Lucy Bronze, thought you would still be following keira around like a lost puppy,’ you replied with an equally devious look.
‘I see the way you look at skipper Y/L/N, I think we’re in the same boat,’ Lucy smirked, ‘oh shut up,’ you replied burning red.
‘Come on let’s get moving I want a nap before dinner’ the pair of you laugh before catching up on what’s been happening in your lives before reaching your room. Both of you flopping onto your respectable beds before passing out.
Waking up in time for dinner, you and Lucy walk down together quietly chatting before splitting up to go to your different tables, seeing a seat saved for you next to Leah, you pick up your pace plonking yourself down digging into some food. The table chatting quietly between yourselves about random things before deciding to start going to the games room for team bonding.
You tugged Leah’s arm signalling her to stay behind, ‘hello captain’ you quietly spoke before leaning up towards her, pressing her lips to yours, you stayed in a loving embrace before slowly pulling away once air was necessary. ‘I’ve been wanting to do that for days, it's been lonely without you!’ Leah exclaimed. ‘I know Lee, so have I, you have me all to yourself now.’ you replied joking towards the end. ‘Hmm I like the sound of that,’ Leah laughs, ‘come on, let's not leave them waiting.’
‘I have decided for all of us that we should play truth or dare, any questions? No? Let's get started.’ Rach Daly exclaims as you enter the room, pulling out a bottle from behind her back.
Once you were all sat in a circle, Rach spun the bottle which landed on Ella who decided to pick ‘dare’, which ended up with Ella attempting to hold a headstand and balance said bottle on her feet. A couple more rounds went by before Beth spun the bottle which landed on you.
‘So Y/N truth or dare.’
‘Truth.’
‘Who is the best person you have ever kissed?’ Beth smirked.
‘Oh definitely Leah.’
‘WHAT?’ basically the whole room exclaimed, with a couple of ‘I KNEW IT’ thrown in there.
You and Leah looked at each other confused.
‘What?’ you both repeat.
‘YOU TWO HAVE KISSED?’ Beth howled.
‘Well, yeah that’s what you do when you're dating someone.’ you say back extremely confused.
‘YOU’RE DATING?’
‘SINCE WHEN?’
‘LEAH YOU DIDN’T TELL ME.’
‘You mean you guys didn't know?’ Leah said, wearing the same confused expression as you.
‘I kind of just thought that you two were extremely close.’ Beth exclaimed.
‘Beth, we live together and you literally saw us kiss right in front of you.’ you replied.
‘Well how was I meant to know?’
(this was my first fic let me know what you think, thanks)

idk what to ask but something super angst enemies to lovers with matt
Disregard(Matt’s Version)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Matt Sturniolo X Female Reader
Synopsis: Matt and Y/N hate each other. However one night at a party things take an ugly turn, and Matt’s there to help her. Feelings are expressed but are these feelings mutual? 🌷
Warning⚠️: None really some guy tries to take advantage of reader.
Song for the imagine: R U Mine?- Arctic Monkeys
And satisfaction feels like a distant memory
And I can’t help myself
All I ever wanna say is “are you mine?”
“You at a party with Matt? How’s that going to work” my friend asked me over the phone laughing
“It’s going to work because I hate him, and I will be far away from him duhh” I said raking through my closet looking for an outfit
“I just don’t know how you can hang out with him and his brothers when yall can’t stand one another” she said
“Well Nicks my friend mostly sadly and Chris is cool, but Matt’s just always there” I said huffing when I couldn’t find the shirt I wanted
“Why don’t you and Nick just hang out” she responded
“I mean we have, but they are always together. I’ve learned to just not acknowledge him” I said laughing
“Man I don’t know how you’ve been sticking it out this long” she said to me
“He was at his worse in high school, so if I got over that I can get over anything” I responded back
“Mmm that’s true he was an annoying little shit” she said giggling
“He really was, and he was such a dick” I said rolling my eyes
“He was, but I’m gonna let you go girl. I know you have to prepare for this party, and I’m about to head out with my man on a date” she said to me
“Alright girl I love you, and have fun I’ll talk to you soon” I responded
“Love you too, and have fun as well” she responded
I hung up and finished looking through my closet for another outfit.
“FINALLYYYY” I said as I found the shirt I’ve been hunting for
To be honest I’m not too sure why my hate for Matt was still there. I’ve been friends with Nick for 5 years now, and although Matt was an asshole in school I couldn’t stop my hate towards him.
He just was always there, and swore he was hot shit. He wanted to be cool and mysterious so badly and it annoyed the shit out of me.
I agreed when Chris called him “tough” because it was true. He acted like this big bad guy, and like he was too good for everybody. Hated it and I hated him
Initially I really liked him, but he destroyed all of that when we were in high school. It haunted me daily…..man fuck Matt
I finished getting ready and decided to Uber over to the triplets house since Nick wanted us to carpool
I headed into their house and walked up to nicks room
“Nickkkk” I said as I walked in and hugged him
“Heyyy” he said pulling away
“Excited for tonight?” I asked him as I sat on his bed
“Very! I haven’t been to a party in a while” he said looking in his closet
“Oh my gosh sameeee” I said
“Should I wear a pink shirt or a black shirt?” He asked
“Mmmmm pink, that color looks good on you” I said back
“I was thinking the same” he said laughing
Suddenly Chris and Matt barged into his room
“YOOO” Chris yelled coming in
“Hey” I said smiling at him
“Stop fucking screaming like a bafoon” Nick said
“Uhhh who brought the negative Nancy” Chris said rolling his eyes
Nick just rolled his eyes at Chris as he finished getting ready in his bathroom
“Nick I have a question” I said getting up
“What’s up?” He asked
“Do you have my perfume I left here a while back” I asked
“Mmm I should, might be in my top drawer” he said
“Yeah you might want to mask that smell” Matt said laughing
“Ew….youre not funny” I said giving him a dirty look
“Yeah and youre ugly” he said making an ugly face
“You act like a two year old” I said not even looking at him
“Alright children enough” Chris said rolling his eyes
“I’m going to wait downstairs, I’m not going to allow Matt to ruin my night” I said after I sprayed myself with perfume and leaving Nicks room
About 10 minutes later they all came down and we decided to head out. Matt drove us to this influencers house who they knew and we headed in
“Alright guys don’t get too wild and try not to fight anyone” Nick said
“Got it” we said laughing
We walked in and started to say hi to the people we knew. I headed into the kitchen to make myself a drink because this was going to be a long night.
I was sitting in the kitchen sipping on my drink while people watching when I saw someone from the corner of my eye.
“Hey” he said, I looked over at him smiling as I swallowed my drink
“Hi” I said properly
“I’m Grey, but most people call me G” he said sticking his hand out for me to shake
“I’m Y/N” I said shaking his hand
“Are you here alone?” He asked as he began to make himself a drink
“Oh no I’m here with some friends, but we branched off” I said to him
“Oh nice yeah I did the same. I think my friends with some girl or some shit” he said shaking his head
“Ahh yes the classic party hook up” I said
“So cliche right” he said laughing
I went to answer but Matt walked into the kitchen clearing his throat and shoving in between us to get a Pepsi
“Oh uh am I interrupting something?” Matt asked looking between Grey and I
“No, go away Matt” I said sighing
“Cant I get a drink?” He said cheering my cup and giving me a shit eating grin
“I’m going to uhhh I’m going to head out” Grey said before walking off
“You fucking dick” I said punching Matt
“I came to get a drink” he said shrugging his shoulders
“You’re such a fucking asshole I hate you” I said finishing my drink and going to make another one
“Not sure why you hate me” he said scoffing
“Tuh- you’re not sure?” I said grabbing a coke to mix with Malibu
“Mmm no not really” he said shaking his head
“Oh well let me jog your memory shall I? You were an absolute piece of shit in high school. You called me every terrible name under the sun. You turned our whole grade against me. Let’s not forget that so-called prank you pulled on me. Calling me telling me you liked me when you knew I liked you asking me out and then telling me it was a joke and that you truly hated me. Oh not to mention you recorded it and sent it to the whole fucking school. You humiliated me in front of everyone” I said mixing my drink
“It wasn’t that serious, you know. I was hanging around asshole guys and I thought it was cool” he said nonchalantly
“You’re still the same way though” I said scoffing
“I’m really not” he said
“You are Matt….you are. I don’t know what I ever did to you, but I know I don’t deserve this shit” I responded
“Oh don’t act innocent you weren’t a saint” he said
“Yeah maybe in high school I got you back a few times but nothing compared to the shit you out, and that was high school were 21 now” I responded
“I have my reasons and you have yours” he said
I looked at him and scoffed…what is he even saying
“Grow up Matt” I said lifting off the counter to walk away
“Right back at you” he said shaking his head
“And stay the fuck out of my way” I said shoving past him
I walked off angrily and decided to look for Grey because I really needed to take my mind off of Matt. He was making my blood boil and my head spin
I saw Grey sitting on a couch scrolling through his phone
“Hey stranger” I said walking up to him
“Oh Heyy Y/N” he said smiling and locking his phone to put it away
“Sorry about that back there he can be a bit annoying” I said sitting next to him
“Ex boyfriend drama?” He asked
“Oh god no. Rival since high school” I said laughing
“Damn since high school” he said
“Yeah” I responded taking a seat next to him
Grey and I had been talking on the couch for a while. His fingers and hands often becoming loose and touching me. Nothing that made me uncomfortable, but it was certainly strange.
Unbeknown to Y/N Matt was watching her and Grey the whole time. He had a weird feeling about him, but couldn’t put his finger on it. He didn’t like that Grey was touching her, but she didn’t seem bothered so he stood back.
“Hey want to head up to a room I can’t really hear you” Grey asked nicely
“Ummm yeah sure” I said
“Nothing weird I promise” he said laughing
“Oh no worries” I said laughing and getting up to follow him
Matt was sitting as he watched them get up and head to the stairs. His ears perking up at this…..something was telling him to follow them.
Slowly Matt got up following behind them at a good distance. Listening in on their convo as best as he could. Didn’t seem strange, but he still wanted to make sure Y/N was okay.
Grey and Y/N had walked into a room shutting the door behind them, and Matt stood a few feet behind. He didn’t want to listen in, but he also wanted to make sure nothing weird was about to go down
“So tell me more about you” Grey said as we both sat on the bed
“Mmm well I’ve been living here for a while now, I’m originally from Boston” I said scanning my brain for more things to say
“Nice nice” he said staring at me
“I’m not sure what else to say” I said giggling
But Grey didn’t say anything he just stared at me….it started to bother me
“Is there something on my face?” I asked getting nervous
“Oh uh no sorry you’re just gorgeous” he said
“Oh thank you” I said looking down
At first coming up here seemed like a good idea, but now I’m worried he got the wrong picture. I did not want anything to do with this man other than a possible friendship. This was started to bug me out
Suddenly he started to lean in, I jumped up
“Oh no no that’s not why I came up here” I said backing away
“Oh? Well then why did you come up here” he asked shocked
“Umm because I thought you wanted to hear me better not try to kiss me” I said looking at him weirdly
“Well one kiss wouldn’t hurt” he said getting up
“No I’m good” I said nodding my head at him
“Just one come on” he said in a sleazy way
“And I said no. No is a full sentence” I said getting upset
“Stop being a tease already” he said
“I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong idea, but I do not want to kiss you” I said
He came closer and I backed away banging into a table against the wall
“Back away” I said
On the other side Matt heard the muffled conversations and the scuffling going on between two people, but he didn’t know what was going on.
“Please stop” I said pushing him off of me as we struggled against the table causing some things to fall
“Come on baby” he said getting upset
“FUCK OFF” I yelled pushing him off and grabbing the front door
My eyes surprised me when I made eye contact with Matt who was standing infront of the door
“Matt?” I asked confused
“What’s going on?” He said looking behind me into the room
“Nothing” I said pushing him back trying to get him to leave
“Your little bitch is a tease” Grey said to Matt
“She’s not a bitch, and if she said no then it’s no” Matt said looking the dude up and down
“She doesn’t want you either, so don’t try to be Superman” he said scoffing
“Fuck you. I’m being a decent human being respect her” Matt said
“What are you going to do about huh?” He said laughing at Matt
“Come on stop” I said trying to pull Matt away
“No” he said pushing my hand away
“You’re a piece of shit” Matt said walking towards Grey
“Don’t care” he said still laughing
Matt looked at him before punching him in the jaw
“MATT WHAT THE FUCK” I yelled out
They both started to scuffle around throwing punches
“Stop it” I said trying to pull Matt away
Matt hit the guy again in the nose causing him to stumble backwards
“When a woman tells you no that means no” he said backing away from Grey
“Matt we have to go now” I said pulling him away
Matt and I ran down the stairs and to his car
“Are you okay?” He asked me as we got in the car
“Yeah I’m fine” I said bluntly
“What a sick fuck” he said turning his car on
“Why do you care?” I asked
“Well I got a bad vibe from him okay, and I just didn’t want you to get hurt” he said as he pulled off
“Matt caring about me” I asked
“I don’t care about you…..I just didn’t want some creep to take advantage” he said scoffing
“Mm don’t care about me sureeeee” I said sitting back in my chair
“I don’t fucking like you okay Y/N” he said getting upset
“Feelings mutual I could’ve handled my own” I said
“Didn’t seem like it” he said
“I had it” I said getting upset with him
“You’re so stubborn” he said
“And so are you” I said
“Just stop okay” he said gripping the steering wheel tighter
“Stop what? Just take me home and shut up” I said rolling my eyes
“You’re such a bitch I try and help you and this is what I get” he said
“Stop the car” I said bluntly
“No” he said
“Matthew stop the fucking car now” I said
Matt looked over at me and pulled over. I hopped out and began to walk
“What the fuck are you doing?” He asked
“Shut the fuck up” I said continuing to walk
Matt hopped out the car following behind me
“Get in the car now” he said sternly
“You’re not my dad, go away” I said shooing him
“I’m not asking you again. Get in the car now” he said trailing closer to me
“GO AWAY” I yelled at him
Matt ran a little faster and grabbed my arm pulling me to turn around
“IM NOT LEAVING YOU HERE STOP BEING STUBBORN AND GET IN THE CAR” he yelled at me
“Let go of me” I said pulling my arm away from him harshly
“Get in the car. I know you hate me. I get that, but get in the car. I’ll take you home and I’ll never bother you again” he said
“Matt no I’m not going anywhere with you” I said
“Stop being so stubborn holy shit” he said pulling at his hair
“No one told you to save me, no one told you to take me home and no one told you to follow me out here. You don’t like me so go away” I said turning around to keep walking
“Yeah I don’t like you because…..because I love you” he said
I stopped in my tracks and slowly turned around to face him
“What?” I asked
“I love you okay” he said shaking his head
“No no you’re not doing this. After all these years of being a piece of shit you’re not about to pull this I love you card” I said pointing at him
“I’ve been a horrible person I know, but I truly didn’t know how to express myself. And i know these words probably mean nothing. But I want you to know I can’t do this anymore. I can’t hide my true feelings by pretending to be mean to you. When I saw you and that guy I got so jealous because that….that should be me” he said
“I don’t know what to say to you” I said shaking my head
“That’s okay. Just get back in the car, let me take you home. And you don’t have to see me ever again” he responded
“Matt I… I don’t know what to say because I love you too. I have loved you since high school, and I masked these feelings with hatred because it was the easiest thing to do” I said
“I’m sorry, okay. I never meant to hurt you the way I did” he said
“I don’t know if I can accept that apology right now. You hurt me badly” I told him
“I get that, but just let me take you home and we can talk about it tomorrow” he said
“Ok” I responded in a whisper
I got back into Matt’s car and he drove me home. The whole ride was silent. My thoughts racing in my head about what he told me….did he really love me?
Matt got to my apartment complex and walked me to my apartment door
“Thanks Matt” I said looking at him
“Oh yeah no worries can’t have you walking alone at night” he said
“No. I mean for everything tonight thank you” I said smiling
“Oh yeah. Of course” he said smiling back
“Ummm I really like you, and you did hurt me, but I want to work this out” I said
“Yeah yeah I do too” he said looking at my eyes
“Well goodnight Matt” I responded opening my door
“Can I have a hug?” He asked shyly
I smiled at this and pulled him in for a hug, kissing him on the cheek
“I appreciate you truly for tonight” I said smiling weakly
He nodded his head at me
“I’ll call” he said
“I’ll answer” I responded
And with that I walked into my apartment locking the door behind me.
Matt drove back to pick up his brothers. Once he was home he laid in bed smiling to himself.
I can’t wait to hear her voice again.
The End

The rest of the evening passes slowly.
It does nothing for your nerves, truthfully, but you keep yourself preoccupied with Wade. He crawls now and that leaves him wanting to explore every space possible. So, while Wally runs out for dinner and Linda wraps up a meeting with her editor, you watch over him and make sure he doesn’t get into anything he shouldn’t.
Dinner is deep-dish pizza—directly from Chicago. It’s all very indulgent, the way Wally can do things like that; he spoils you in that regard and you tell him as much as you wash dishes and he puts them away.
“Nah, it’s nothing,” he says, shooting you a small smile. “Besides, it’s for me, too.”
And you can tell that’s true by the four empty boxes of pizza that he ate, with two for you and Linda.
But still. When he leaves…
It’s not just that that you’re going to miss. With or without the speed, you’re going to miss him. Him, Linda, and little Wade.
Despite not saying that—because you don’t want to be a downer, because their home is in Keystone City, not here, and you don’t want to be selfish like that—he senses the shift in your mood.
“You know,” he starts, “me and Lin were thinking…”
“That’s never good.”
He nudges you gently, grinning. You shake your head, smiling, too. You pass him a freshly-washed plate and he dries it.
“Well, wait until you hear what we were thinking about.”
“What?”
“We think you should visit us every now and then.”
The thought that they want you around is warming, as usual. But…
“I mean, I would love to, Wally, but I can’t really afford that… Maybe, after I see how everything adds up during the fall, I can come for the holidays or something. But…”
He shakes his head. “Come on, kiddo. You think we’d say that and leave it up to you?”
“I don’t expect—”
“I know. But you should. We want to do whatever we can to see you. You aren’t the only one that’s going to miss something when we leave, you know. That’s why we’re doing this. Besides,” he grins at you, lightening up. “Who do you think you’re talking to? I can get you to Keystone in under a minute right now.”
Considering that Linda has told you that his speed is efficient but leaves one with a horrible bout of nausea and vertigo—at least in the beginning; she’s barely affected these days—you feel some mild apprehension.
But those things are temporary. You can withstand that, if only to see them again.
“Or,” he goes on, “we can fly you out, but that would honestly be pretty cumbersome and would also take too long.”
“It’s a plane, Wally. That is the fastest form of transportation we have in this country.”
He sniffs. “I’m the fastest form of transportation we have in this country. In the world! One of them, anyway.”
“Well, that’s how we normal human beings function. Not everyone can run faster than the speed of light.”
“Not everyone should,” he agrees. “I’d lose my appeal. That would suck.”
“You’re ridiculous.”
“So, is that a yes or—?”
“Alright,” you relent, smiling. “How often are we talking?”
He smiles a tad bashfully. “Once or twice a month? You can come on the weekends… Just—you know. I know you’re gonna be busy with classes but…”
“It sounds like I should be getting a nice break every month if we do that. I mean, I can’t promise I won’t have work—”
“Just as long as you’re around, kid. That’s all we want.”
Your face warms at the earnestness in his words, embarrassed, though you know you really shouldn’t be. “Wally.”
“Hey, I’m gonna be honest with you. I’ve been in this game too long to try and dance around feelings. Hopefully your boy will learn that, too.”
“You aren’t wrong,” you mutter, shutting off the water and drying your hands, making a mental reminder to put on some lotion before they get annoyingly dry from the hot water and dish soap. “I’m just not… used to that.”
He shrugs, tossing his dish towel over his shoulder. “Like I said. In a world like ours… it’s important.”
You don’t disagree. But you can’t rail too hard on Tim. Questionable decisions regarding his feelings aside, the both of you only came to your senses after he had a close-call today. What does that say about you, that he has to nearly die for you to realize you need to see him again? Need to clear the air?
It’s human, you think. So very terribly human of you.
It’s not like you’re unappreciative of him in your life but… you know this dance and song. You only realize what you have when you lose it. Look at your parents. You’ve slipped right now but you’ll fix it. You’ll make sure he knows how much he means to you.
But more importantly, right now…
“You guys… mean a lot to me, too.” You turn, seeing Linda pause near the island, and meet her brown eyes and even though it makes your face hot and the words get stuck in your throat, you force them out, underpinned with what you hope they can tell is sincerity. “You do. So much.”
Your throat tightens and you duck your head as your eyes burn.
Hard to quantify. Hard to put a label on what they mean to you.
But you know that much. That they mean the world to you.
Warm, strong arms come around you, squeezing you tight. You sniffle when you feel Linda come up behind you, squeezing you, too.
It’s an emotional day, you decide. For all of you.
So, you take a long shower to try and pull yourself together, then head to bed, bidding Wally and Linda goodnight.
You don’t intend to fall asleep when you crawl into your bed. It’s better to stay up, to wait for Tim to get here. But the day’s events start weighing down on you as you curl up beneath the blankets.
You try valiantly to stay awake by scrolling on your phone but it’s a Sisyphean task to do so. As your eyelids grow heavier and heavier, you know it will be a task that you fail as you stop fighting and give in to sleep.
Tumblr media
It’s only the vibration of your phone that rouses you.
Groping for it, the display is obscenely bright in the darkness of your room. But the text waiting for you is unmistakable, impossible to miss.
i’m here
Suddenly recalling what you and Tim had agreed upon, you shoot up in bed, ignoring the head rush the action gives you.
The window that leads out to the fire escape is right next to your bed, covered by curtains. You toss your phone aside, rolling out of the warm cocoon of blankets; the AC in this place works well, a little too well, you think groggily as your bare feet connect with cold wood floors.
You shove aside the curtains and though you know who is waiting for you, that it is Tim, just Tim, your best friend, the still-not-fully-awake part of you clenches up in fear, thinking it might be Batman that is moving in the shadows, only barely illuminated by the full moon. But you know better than that.
It helps that your eyes are already adjusted to the darkness, recognizing the figure crouched in your fire escape. Dressed in… oddly enough, sweatpants, a t-shirt, and a light jacket. Completed with a plain black domino mask—not the usual one he wears, more akin to Robin, save for the color—that obscures the blue eyes you know and love.
You reach for the window. Well-oiled and taken care of by the owners, it is virtually silent as it slides open.
Muggy July heat rushes in, chasing away the cold.
Without the window and with your vision quickly clearing from bleariness, you can really take him in. The tension in his body, the way a breeze ruffles through dark hair, the twitch of his hands to you before they clench into fists. Waiting.
For you.
Your throat thickens painfully when your eyes snag on the white gauze taped to the left side of his neck.
Just a graze, Steph told you. But he lost a bit of blood anyway and his neck… if it had been the right side, would he not be here right now? Maybe it doesn’t matter. It’s his neck, there are so many important arteries running through there.
If anything else had happened, if he’d moved even a little bit, he wouldn’t be here.
That realization, coupled with the overwhelming emotions at seeing him again since everything, pushes you over the edge.
Your eyes burn with tears. You reach forward, ignoring the soreness in your belly, one hand grabbing his wrist and tugging him right into the circle of your arms.
That breaks the stalemate. He goes quickly, arms sliding around you as the first of your tears start sliding down your cheeks.
“Tim…”
He holds you tighter, impossibly warm, letting out a shuddery breath and whispering your name, too, everything inside you shivering at the sound, at the warmth that wraps up the syllables of your name.
“I’m okay,” he breathes. “I’m okay, I swear.”
“You were shot.”
An exhale of a laugh. It sounds shaky with emotion.
“Technically, I was grazed.”
“Tim.”
He presses his nose to your hair, hand stroking up your back.
“I’m okay,” he whispers, lips brushing your forehead. “I wasn’t going to die before I got to see you. No way.”
You sniffle. The two of you are quiet, speaking lowly, but you’re suddenly too aware of the other window on the fire escape, the one for Linda and Wally’s room. You don’t want to wake them—or god forbid, Wade—so you reluctantly extract yourself from his arms, tugging him again.
He follows easily, sliding through the window with a grace you aren’t used to. He shuts the window silently behind him, banishing the muggy air that had leaked inside. You wipe away your tears, attempting to piece yourself together.
As he turns back to you, hesitantly now, the air conditioner clicks on, and a second later, cold air starts blowing into your room. It should help cover your voices a little bit.
For a moment, it is silent.
Tim shifts on his feet across from you. The domino mask renders him impervious. Impossible to read without seeing his eyes.
But not totally impossible. The way he bites his lip doesn’t just draw your attention to his mouth, tempting, traitorous thoughts briefly crossing your mind, but it also clues you into his nervous state.
“I’m sorry.”
He speaks first, blurting the words out, seeming almost surprised at the way they escaped him before he decides to go with it, doubling down on it.
Taking a deep breath, he looks at you, whispering your name. “I’m sorry. For lying to you. For coming to you as Red Robin instead of myself. For everything. I just… I didn’t know how to handle it.”
“I know,” you sigh. “I know.”
You were in that position, too. You didn’t fuck it up this badly but… you each had your parts to play. No one is blameless here.
“I just,” he stops, looking away, hands clenching at his sides. “I want to be friends. If anything else. I want that.”
If anything else.
You understand what he is saying here.
He isn’t here under any pretenses. Isn’t expecting you to take him in with open arms. Would be fine as friends.
Well, you don’t want that.
“Tim.”
He looks at you. You extend a hand. Waiting. Not demanding.
Slowly, he comes to you. Palm sliding against yours. Warm and a little clammy, calloused but still soft.
A few inches of space separate you when he stops.
This close, you can feel the heat of him. Smell his shampoo, soft and fragrant. Eucalyptus.
You squeeze his hand once then let go.
He and Red Robin are two sides of the same coin. There is no Tim Drake without Red Robin, you think. Not right now.
Maybe it’ll change, down the line. One part of you selfishly hopes so.
You’ll always want him. But as Red Robin, the risk of losing him triples and you are greedy enough to want to mitigate it. The same with Steph. Even with Wally, who is considerably more durable. All of them, duty-bound, honor-bound. You cannot ask that of them.
Right now, though, you think you can make that demand. At least temporarily.
You reach for him. Pausing when your hands near his face. But he doesn’t move. Just looks down at you and you wonder if he can hear your heart, with how hard, how loudly, it pounds in your chest.
You have to be certain.
So, when your fingers finally touch the smooth material of the mask, before trying to lift it, you ask, in a whisper, “Can I?”
“Yes,” he breathes, some emotion you don’t know underlying his voice, one that makes your face warm and your heart skip a beat.
Your fingers find the edge, slowly, gently peeling it up. It peels and peels and peels until finally, it detaches into your hands. Almost flimsy now but with a certain weight.
That’s not what retains your attention, though.
It’s him. It’s always him.
Tim’s eyes are closed, the tiniest of wrinkles found between his brows.
You imagine what it must be like to him. Letting you do that. Peel back the final layer of him once and for all. Letting you see him. Tim. Your Tim.
Keeping the domino mask loosely grasped in one hand, your other reaches for him, your thumb finding the wrinkle between his brows. It smooths out instantly at your touch and his eyes flutter open.
There they are.
It’s a shade of blue that haunts your dreams most nights.
Usually a lighter, softer color in the light, something like cornflowers, but right now, they’re midnight sky blue, looking at you with a heavy kind of affection, warm and unbridled.
Your hand settles on his cheek. He leans into the touch. Your thumb strokes over the sensitive skin under his eye. Where dark circles mar the skin, exhaustion finally clear in his face.
You smile sadly. “You look tired, Timmy.”
“Last couple weeks,” he swallows, “have been… rough.”
“Tell me about it.”
He smiles. It’s a small thing but no less beautiful to your eyes.
Then he sobers up, gazing at you, pained. “I am sorry.”
“I know.”
“I was an idiot.”
“I know.” You take a deep breath. “We both were.”
He opens his mouth to protest but you speak before he can.
“It’s true. You know that. We didn’t handle this like we should but it’s… it’s in the past. We can’t change it. We just have to move forward.”
A slow nod, then his eyes flicker to your hand, still between you two, still holding onto the domino mask. He takes it from you.
You aren’t sure what you expect, but it’s not for him to toss it away, landing somewhere in the darkness, a near silent sound.
“Tim—“
“It’ll never come between us again,” he whispers and your breath catches at his words; his hands find yours, pulling the one on his cheek into his own, squeezing. “I promise.”
You take a second to compose yourself, letting out a slow breath.
“I believe you,” you finally say. “And… no more lies. Please. Tell me the truth. The whole truth. I want to be there for you, for all of it.”
“It’s going to hurt.”
Not a protest. Just a statement. A warning.
“So, it’s even more important for me to be there.”
He swallows, eyes searching yours. “Are you… are you sure?”
“I’m sure.”
“So… we’re okay?”
“No.”
His face falls. “Whatever it is… I’ll make it up to you. I swear. Whatever you want.”
“I want you.”
“You have me,” he promises.
“Not like that.”
He stiffens up, breath catching as he understands what you mean. He looks down at you, shock clear. Understanding but not truly believing. That won’t do.
“I love you, Tim. Not just as a friend but…”
You’ve said it to them both. I love you. And this ‘I love you’ isn’t better than the one you tell Steph, than the one you told him for the first time, back when your feelings were still strictly platonic. It doesn’t mean something more, something deeper, something elevated just because it’s romantic. But it’s different. In what you want. In what you long for.
He whispers your name.
You let out a slow breath. “And if you want that, too, then…”
“Of course I do,” he breathes, letting go of your hands to cup your face, bringing you closer. “Of course I do. There’s nothing else, no one else, I want. I just… I never wanted to assume.”
“I know.”
“But if you’re on board then… then we can try it out.”
It feels more like ‘trying it out,’ though. Despite the uncertainty, the whirlwind of emotions, everything that has happened, finally talking it out, finally laying everything out on the table… you’ve found solid ground. A foundation you can build upon.
It is no mere crush. No simple infatuation.
You are in love with Tim Drake. Plain and simple.
And he is in love with you, too.
You close your eyes, fingers curling around his wrists. After a beat, he presses his forehead to yours.
“I love you, too, you know,” he whispers. “I have for a long time.”
Your face is hot, flushed with heat, your heart pounding. You feel so light, like you might fall up, untethered by gravity and floaty from the cotton candy-sweet warmth unspooling in your chest, clogging your veins and the arteries of your heart. It wouldn’t be a bad way to go.
But before you do…
“Tim.”
“Yeah?”
“Kiss me.”
He kisses you.
Gently at first, tenderly, lips warm, soft, tasting faintly of spearmint. You feel like you might melt into a puddle of goo at it, at knowing it’s Tim who is kissing you so sweetly, making your knees feel a little weak.
You shuffle closer. He inhales sharply at you pressing into his space, curling around you to close the final bits of distance. It turns the kiss a little fevered, a little hungry, a little desperate.
You’ve missed him so much. You can’t stop yourself from whispering that, pulling away to do so.
He shudders at your words, lips pressing to your cheek, then your jaw, then your neck, and you open yourself up to him, too willing, too happy to let him have you like this.
He keeps saying it. Whatever you want. But he can have whatever he wants from you, too. Anything. Everything.
“I love you,” he breathes against your neck and your breath catches at the reverence in his voice. “Can you—can you say it again?”
“I love you, Tim,” you whisper and it pulls another shiver from him, lips pressing to your fluttering pulse and your knees really feel like they might give out.
Your fingers grasp the material of his jacket, tugging, and he brings his lips back to yours, giving you a mind-numbing, synapse-slowing kiss.
You separate eventually, foreheads pressed together, trying to catch your breath.
“Will you stay?” you ask softly.
“I’ll stay,” he promises, leaning back to press a heartachingly tender kiss to your forehead. You close your eyes, holding onto him.
After a moment, he pulls away, shedding his jacket, draping it over the footboard. You close the curtains over your window, then crawl into bed. When Tim comes over, he tries to push you over. Not hard. A gentle—persistent—nudge to your shoulder, keeping in mind your injury, though you should tell him that it’s healing much better at nearly three weeks since it happened. Enough so that Steph said she could see about Crystal coming over to take the stitches out, just to avoid waiting at the hospital, and the bill, too.
“Oh, hey—”
“Let me sleep there,” he urges. “I feel better if you’re furthest from the window.”
“Hero types, I swear.”
He doesn’t dignify that with a response. Instead, he leans down and scoops you into his arms. You yelp and he shushes you. You can’t stop your giggles as he unceremoniously drops you on the other side of the bed, the one closest to the door. He crawls in after you.
“You’re going to wake them up,” he whispers but he’s grinning, too, as he slides under the covers, laying on his side.
“Who’s fault is that?” you shoot back. “Just ‘cause you and your savior complex need to be by the window—”
He muffles his snickers into the pillow, eyes closed, lips spread in a grin. Your chest warms and you wiggle closer to him.
Tim lifts an arm so you can settle against his side. Wary of the gauze on the hollow of his throat, you settle for tucking your head underneath his chin, pressing a soft kiss to his neck.
He strokes a hand down your back, a warm brand between your shoulder blades. Sleep isn’t far off your conscience, right at the edges of it, and with the warmth of his body and the reassurance of his embrace, you’re moving fast to it.
But before you do…
“Tim.”
“Hmm?”
“You’ll… you’ll be here in the morning, right?”
His arm tightens around you. You feel him press a kiss to your hair.
“I’ll be here. I promise.”
Tumblr media
And he is.
When you rouse an indeterminate amount of time later, awakened by the sounds of activity outside your door—Wade’s high-pitched giggles, Wally’s low murmurs to him as he feeds him breakfast, the water running in the pipes as Linda uses the bathroom—Tim is still there. With you.
Deep in sleep, still, even with the slivers of light that come in from your window and the noises coming in from outside. Probably the repercussions of his ‘rough couple weeks.’ It’s quite similar with you, if you’re being honest. Besides, you hardly mind, basking in the feel of your legs tangled together underneath the blankets, the heavy but reassuring weight of his arm around you.
You manage to pull away a little bit to look at him, blinking out the bleariness in your eyes as you rest your head on the pillow, his face a couple inches from yours. Eyes shut, dark lashes casting shadows over his cheeks, breathing soft and slow. His hair is a mess, some parts of it flat from the pillow and sticking up in other areas. You spy a few creases from the pillow on his cheek, too. But even with that, he is still so beautiful to you.
You sigh, snuggling closer to him, shifting so you can run your fingers through his hair, your eyes falling shut again. You can stand to sleep a little while longer.
He lets out a soft, contented sigh as your fingers glide through his hair, gently taking out tangles as you go.
You pull away after a moment, feeling sleep lapping at your senses again.
You doze for a little while, rousing again to more noise from outside. The sound of the TV. Wally and Linda murmuring to each other. Wade giggling.
Tim shifts, groaning quietly. The sound, rough with sleep, makes something inside you clench, sparks of heat waking you up more fully so you can watch him wake up, too.
He rolls onto his back, stretching, then sagging into the mattress. You stay curled up on your side, your calf thrown over his, watching him wake up with a small smile on your lips that you know must be horribly lovesick.
Finally, he turns to look at you, blinking the sleep out of his eyes.
“Hi.”
He gives you a sleepy smile. “Hi. Watching me sleep? Weirdo.”
He still has pillow creases on his face. You reach up to trace them.
“Well, you like this weirdo.”
“I love this weirdo,” he corrects. “Guess it’s fair, considering my night job.”
“Right. Watching you sleep—which I wasn’t, by the way, I was just waiting for you to wake up—”
“Sounds an awful lot like watching me sleep—”
You grin and pinch his cheek. He grunts, halfheartedly batting your hand away and taking it in his, lacing your fingers together.
“Anyway. That’s not that big of an offense compared to, oh, I don’t know, dressing up and fighting crime each night.”
“Think that’s part of the whole ‘we love each other thing,’” he teases.
You smile. “I guess so.”
“So, then…” His eyes stray from your face, to something else, nerves clear as day; too early in the morning for him to make a solid attempt at hiding them from you and well. You know him. For better and for worse.
“Mmhm?”
“I guess I should take you on a date.”
“You guess?”
He blushes, red settling high in his cheeks in a way that is… decidedly tempting. “I mean I should. If—if you want to, of course.”
“I didn’t kiss you just for kicks, you know.”
“I sure hope not,” he agrees, looking back at you, face softening. “Will you, then?”
“Of course, Timmy.”
“And maybe…” He turns, reaching for you. You go easily, your fingers still tracing the pillow creases on his cheek. A strong arm wraps around your shoulders as he turns onto his side. In the warm light of the morning, his eyes are a softer shade of blue, the one you know and love.
“Maybe…?”
“Maybe… you’ll give me the honor of being my girlfriend?”
Oh, geez.
Your face flares with heat, heart skipping a beat.
“You cornball.”
“You love it.”
Your palm finally settles on his cheek—hot to the touch, too, flush still lingering behind. You lean forward to press your lips to his forehead. He lets out a shuddery breath, arm tightening around you briefly.
“Yes, Tim,” you murmur against his skin. “I would be happy to.”
“Thank you,” he whispers, but it doesn’t like he’s thanking you for agreeing to it—at least, not just that.
Maybe for everything.
But— “You don’t have to thank me. It’s not… I love you. That’s all there is and that’s all there ever will be.”
You pull back, thumb stroking over his cheek. He leans forward, lips pressing gently to your cheek. Your fingers find their way into his hair, sighing contentedly as he kisses down to your jaw.
You get so caught up in that, the knock on your door scares the shit out of you both.
Wally calls out your name. “You up, kiddo? Lin’s makin’ eggs and rice.”
Tim pulls away quickly and you sit up, your face hot.
“I’ll, um, be out in a few.” Your voice is steady, thankfully, but you can’t say much about your pulse, your heart beating out of your chest. Tim is sitting up, too, looking around the room—presumably for the mask he discarded last night.
“Okay,” Wally says. “Will Tim be joining us?”
You both freeze.
You should’ve known better, really. Wally’s been doing this for a long time. Nothing much will slip by him. Not unless he lets it.
Tim turns an impressive shade of red. Tempting, like it always is, but mostly, you just feel like a teenager caught red-handed with her boyfriend.
…Which isn’t too incorrect of a description.
You look at him, lost.
He clears his throat, raising his voice to respond. “I—uh, yeah, if you don’t mind.”
“That’s fine,” Wally responds cheerfully. “Hope you aren’t allergic to sesame because I don’t care and I’m not going out to get something different for you.”
“Wally!”
Tim smiles, shaking his head. “I’m not allergic.”
“Too bad,” he says. “It’ll be ready in a few.”
Footsteps leave. Wally hums to himself loudly, happily.
You and Tim look at each other for a second before a giggle escapes you. Then another. He joins you in the next second, until you two are laughing loudly, listing into each other and flopping onto the bed.
In the kitchen, even from here, you can hear Wally and Linda laughing, too.
You grin breathlessly, looking at Tim’s smiling face, and decide the embarrassment of getting caught out is worth it, if you get to have this. All of them.

Coming Home (Part 8)
Azriel x Reader
Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four | Part Five | Part Six | Part Seven
Just saying again if I’ve accidentally missed you off the tag list, please drop me a message and let me know! I don’t want to miss anyone ❤️
Warnings: Nah. I think we all know I eat angst for breakfast by now. 🫣
A week later, your only relief was keeping busy.
Day in and day out, you threw yourself into the world of your work, lost yourself in the glorious art that was magical healing. Every minute of the day was filled with walk-ins at the clinic, or the more urgent home visits you travelled out to. And come evening time, when the patient footfall thinned out into nothing, you crushed herbs and mixed ingredients until you were healing your own cuts, your own burns, making salves and tonics and long-forgotten medicinal recipes that were fading on the pages of the dusty old book you so often buried your nose into.
Anything to keep your thoughts off of him. To keep that ache from ripping you open inside.
That evening, like every other over the past week, you hid yourself away in your little back room. It had become a solace of sorts, a place that was yours to linger in for as long into the night as you needed. Sometimes you even slept there.
You wiped a sheen of sweat from your brow as you drained the water from the herbs you’d been boiling. Lost in the punchy aromas and the steam creating a shroud around you, you just about jumped out of your skin when you turned to find a figure in the doorway. You winced as a few droplets of boiled water sloshed over the rim of the ceramic pot, spraying your arm.
“Shit.” Lucien marched over, easing the pot from your hands and placing it on the counter. “Sorry — I did knock. Are you alright?”
“I’m fine. It’s nothing.” You wiped your hands on your apron, the sting already gone. “What brings you here?”
“I was on my way to that family dinner I’ve been so generously invited to. Thought I’d drop by here and offer to walk you there.”
Shit — you’d forgotten about the dinner you’d agreed to. And thus, forgotten to come up with a good excuse as to why you couldn’t attend. You knew you wouldn’t be able to avoid these things forever, but to see Azriel so soon — to sit across the table from him and act like everything was fine — was a prospect that made you feel sick.
Lucien seemed to notice your hesitation. He frowned. “Is something wrong?”
“No.” You quickly said — you really didn’t feel like explaining the Azriel situation right now to anyone; even him. “No, I just…forgot. Uh…I’ll clean myself up.”
“Good idea. You have a little…” He reached out a strong, broad hand, the pad of his thumb brushing just beneath your eye. “There. Some sort of powder.”
With a somewhat nervous laugh bubbling up your throat, you brushed past him, his touch still tingling on your face.
You didn’t see the point in fixing your appearance beyond the basics of dusting yourself down and throwing your hair up that had begun to curl in the humidity of the room. You discarded your apron, shucking your jacket on, and turned to Lucien expectantly.
You snorted as you found him sniffing at the various different pots of salves and tonics, a frown pinching his face. You pointedly cleared your throat.
“If you’re done shoving that pregnancy prevention tonic up your nose,” You gestured to yourself. “Do I look presentable?”
One side of Lucien’s mouth kicked up into a delicious smirk. “Ravishing, Lady Healer.”
You prolonged the walk to the house as much as you possibly could, dragging your feet slowly and keeping Lucien lost in conversation. It reminded you how easy it had been to be around him before — how the gaping chasm inside you didn’t ache quite so badly as he regaled you with wicked stories that drew genuine laughter from you.
You were undoubtedly late, though — and that much was obvious when you could put off the inevitable no longer, and you entered Rhys and Feyre’s home.
Everyone was already seated at the table when you and Lucien strolled through, mid-laughter. They each looked up with raised eyebrows, taking the sight of you in.
Azriel’s was the only gaze you didn’t meet, no matter how badly your eyes wanted to stray to him.
Your laughter died in the expectant silence, and you cleared your throat. “Apologies for the lateness. I got…held up. At the clinic.”
It didn’t occur to you, in the moment, how those two words — held up — may have been construed, given the appearance of the situation. That you and Lucien had wandered in later than everyone else, talking and laughing and flushed from your walk in the brisk air. You took your usual seat beside Mor, reaching for a glass.
“Can we eat now?” She pouted. “I’m starved.”
“Yes.” Rhys replied, his eyes not moving from you. “We can.”
Rhys’s hard gaze wasn’t the only one trained on you throughout dinner.
Elain sat directly opposite you, and you were surprised she actually managed to eat anything, with how intently she stared at you. Glared at you. If she was trying to make you uncomfortable, it was working.
“All I’m saying,” Cassian said from across the table, cutting into his dessert, “is that it’d be pretty cool to have a Night Court pet. A mascot, of sorts.”
Amren narrowed her eyes at him, draining her glass. “Where are you going with this, you stupid boy?”
“A cat. I think we should get a big, Night Court cat. A black one.”
The verbal sparring between Cassian and Amren, through all three courses of food, had been dinner entertainment in itself. Kept you distracted enough that Azriel was simply a shadow in your periphery, and nothing more.
And Lucien had helped, of course — like he could sense that you needed easing. His reassuring glances from the chair on your other side, his quiet comments in your ear that had you laughing to yourself, had all been the comforting presence you’d needed.
“Perhaps we should get a cat.” Amren hummed. “It can replace you, Cassian. And probably provide us with more stimulating conversation, too.”
Lucien leaned down to your ear, his breath tickling your skin as he murmured, “He can join our band of rejects.”
The laugh that broke from your throat was so loud, so sudden, that everyone turned to look at you. Lucien pulled away, clearing his throat.
Shifting in your seat, you pushed your plate away from you. You’d barely touched a morsel of food all night.
“If we’re done eating.” Rhys said, his hard, violet eyes on you. “Perhaps we should move to the sitting room.”
Hums of agreement sounded around the table, and you didn’t hesitate to stand up from your chair. This was the perfect opportunity to make an excuse and retire early — to leave the heavy, pressing atmosphere that was making your chest uncomfortably tight.
You opened your mouth to announce you were leaving, but your brother turned to you, holding out an arm.
“A walk around the garden, Y/N?” He asked. The fact that nobody else said a word was indication enough that there was intent behind the innocent suggestion.
Still, he was your brother — and you barely got to see him anymore, partly through your own doing. You smiled tightly and linked your arm through his.
“Save some whiskey for me.” Rhys called over his shoulder, leading you out.
The two of you strode in silence for a while.
The night was peaceful, if not uncomfortably cold in your thin clothing. Content, playful snippets of conversation occasionally floated out of the house and reached your ears. The floral scents that drifted through the air were pleasant, soothing, reminding you of simpler times.
You would have felt blissful if you didn’t have warring emotions eating you up from the inside.
Rhys slowed to a stop beside a flowering shrub, his fingers toying with the petals of a soft purple flower. “Y/N.” He said quietly. “What’s going on?”
You stared at him, willing an expression of cluelessness onto your face. “What do you mean?”
“I mean,” His jaw ticked, “I mean with you and Lucien.”
Gods, you were already tired of this conversation. You felt yourself bristle as you folded your arms.
“Oh, don’t give me that look, Y/N.”
You cocked an eyebrow. “What look would that be?”
“Like you don’t know what I’m talking about.” His tone was sharp, biting — verging on angry. “Everyone was aware of you leaving your party with him. I overlooked it because I knew you were overwhelmed. But afterwards, I found out you had…history with him. And then tonight, the two of you turn up late together after doing the Mother knows what—“
“I’d thank you,” You interrupted with a snap, “to watch what you’re insinuating, brother.”
“You were sat directly opposite his mate, Y/N, while he was whispering in your ear.”
“Elain doesn’t even acknowledge him!”
Rhys whipped round to face you so fast, he tore the flower from the shrub. It floated from his fingers to the ground. “Your opinion on their bond is completely irrelevant. He is a mated male, to a female in our family, our court. You will not interfere with that.”
You clenched your jaw. “Since when do you involve yourself in other people’s relationships?”
Your brother stared at you, his lips slightly parted. Slowly, he shook his head. “You truly have no idea, do you?”
“About what?”
“About what I have to deal with!” His voice was almost a shout. “This isn’t about involving myself in relationships. This is about my duties as a High Lord. Our relations with many of the other courts are already stretched at best. If they sense conflict from within our court, our family, it will be used against us.”
“Conflict?” You repeated. “For fuck’s sake, Rhys, Lucien is my friend. If Elain has a problem with that—“
Your words were stopped short as Rhys marched over to you. He cut an intimidating figure, towering over you and gripping both your shoulders in his firm hands.
“Do you know what they say about you in the other courts?” He shook you. “Do you? They talk about the Night Court High Lord’s flighty younger sister who cannot settle in any one place. Who moves from court to court, taking lovers and doing as she pleases. Who was fucking and drinking to her heart’s content while the whole world went to shit.”
“I,” You snapped, shoving him off, “was healing mortals and helping rebuild villages and lives that our kind were destroying. And I wanted to come home, to find some way to help — you told me to stay away!”
“Yes, because I couldn’t let Amarantha get to you! I knew she’d use you to get to me and I couldn’t let that happen!”
“So you can’t hold it against me, Rhys—“
“I’m not holding anything against you.” His tone was low, dangerous, his face moulded into one fitting for the Court of Nightmares. “But I have duties. Important ones that cannot be compromised. Stay away from Lucien.”
You stared defiantly up at him, your arms crossed over your chest. “Are you saying that as my brother? Or as my High Lord?”
“I’m saying it as a gentle warning as your brother. But if I have to pull rank to keep things on the straight and narrow, I will.”
“Gentle.” You scoffed.
That single action of yours seemed to incense Rhys beyond anything else.
“Do you even realise what hell we went through? The things we had to endure? I barely survived!” He spat, his wings flaring behind him. “But those dark days are behind us, Y/N. We’re trying to rebuild, to regain strength. And I can’t have you making poor decisions and breaking us apart from within. I cannot have you bringing shame down on our court!”
He may as well have slapped you.
You felt your breath hitch in your throat. Felt your clenched fists uncurl themselves. Felt the cold slither of hurt snake its way through you until it was chilling your bones and turning your blood to ice. You’d fallen deadly still.
Rhys knew immediately what he’d said. The realisation seemed to drain his anger from him instantaneously. His eyes shuttered, his jaw loosening. “I shouldn’t have said that.”
“Shame?” Hot tears pricked at your eyes; you blinked them away. “Is that how you feel about me, Rhys? Ashamed?”
“No, look, that’s not what I meant—“ He was scrambling for words as he reached for you, his face, his eyes, infinitely softer — the expression you recognised as your brother. “I just—“
But you were stepping away from him, shaking your head. Wiping your eyes. You didn’t want to hear another word he had to say.
“Y/N—“
“Wow.” You laughed bitterly, shooting your brother one last, scathing glance. “Congratulations, High Lord. You truly sound like our father.”
Vicious, vicious words that you knew would hurt more than anything, but you were beyond caring. You turned, running back up the steps to the house and sweeping through on a wind built of your own anger, your own hurt. You didn’t know whether you wanted to scream or cry. Maybe both.
As you passed the rest of the Inner Circle gathered in the main sitting room, you didn’t spare a single one of them a glance. Even though they could see the tears spilling over and rolling down your cheeks. Even though you looked seconds from breaking completely.
You held your head high, and you left.

Can I have a snippet about a morally grey Hero taking advantage of yandere Villain’s jealousy and violent tendencies? Hero knows Villain kills people Hero gets too close to, so they start flirting with other villains that they want stopped or villains that they just plain don’t like.
“You look tired,” the hero said. Usually, they would have the curtesy to ring the bell and not enter through the window. However, they hadn’t had time to change into their normal clothes which left the window as the best option.
They weren’t too thrilled to explain to the villain’s neighbours why they were dressed up like a superhero. Especially not to the old lady above them.
“I...” The villain looked at them, pupils blown up. They looked quite innocent like this and the hero supposed they rather made that impression on everyone in their life. The villain was clever, was quiet when they had to be, was assertive when it was demanded of them, was seductive when they forced themselves to be. Sometimes the villain’s ability to adapt scared the hero. What if the hero was too boring for them one day?
Would they get rid of them?
Although that seemed unlikely, the hero had seen the villain’s deepest secrets and they had learnt about their most vulnerable parts. If this was a long-term thing (and the hero wanted that, not only for the violent benefits but also for the ego boost), they couldn’t allow themselves to slip up.
Then again, the villain was efficient when it came to murder but they also had the tendency to lose all their power when it came to the hero.
They were like a puppy.
“Hm?” The hero raked their fingers through the villain’s messy hair. It wasn't exactly love what they wanted. So what?
Didn’t they deserve a little compensation for all the pain they had lived through? Losing people was part of the job and if the hero could have someone who wanted them, who could protect themselves, who really cared about them, even if the hero didn't have the same feelings for them? Who could blame them for continuing this? Who could blame them for wanting to be loved?
“Sorry, I’m very tired,” the villain said. They closed their eyes and took in a deep breath.
“Hard day?”
“Yeah.” Obviously. The villain had murdered one of the most powerful villains in the entire country a few hours ago and it hadn’t been a quick fight. The hero would know. They had watched carefully.
They doubted the villain knew any of that.
“Got into an argument again, did you?”
No one had found the body yet.
“Yeah, you could say that,” the villain said. The hero smiled gently as their grip grew stronger in the villain's hair. Slowly, the hero scrutinised the villain, noticing bandages and bandaids on their body. Not saying a word, they let go of the villain and walked over to their fridge.
For a moment, the hero had thought the villain wouldn’t make it. The fight had been brutal and bloody and anything but easy. But even if the villain had died, the hero could’ve killed the other villain easily.
It would have been a devastating loss, obviously. The villain had already killed ten of their own kind and their work was incredible.
“How was your day?” the villain asked, despite being in incredible pain. It was adorable how they thought the hero wouldn’t notice.
“Oh, it was alright. Arresting some bad guys, doing an interview, stuff like that.” They closed the fridge, disappointed.
“Being a superhero must be hard.”
“You have no idea,” the hero mumbled, still eager to find something to eat in the kitchen. It was a mess and the hero was truly not impressed.
“...I’ve been thinking about us,” the villain said quietly. “Today was...difficult and I just want you to know that you mean a lot to me. All I do is for you and—”
“We agreed on friends with benefits,” the hero interrupted. “I told you my secret because I trust you, because I care about you, too. You know I cannot have relationships that are more than that.”
The hero looked at them sharply, as if to scold them and apparently, the villain understood. They wanted to say something but did not.
“That being said, there’s a new villain I got assigned to. I don’t know, they’re kind of funny.”
“Oh, really? How funny?”
The villain didn’t learn, they always took the bait.

Art Project | Miguel O’Hara x Child Spider Reader (Platonic Ofc)
Tumblr media
Warnings- none
Summary- You needed help with your art project and  asked Miguel for help !
Side note- not proofread cuz I’m literally so lazy rn. But please feel free to send over some Ideas cuz I can’t think of any .Ik some of y’all got awesome Ideas that ur gate keeping🙁</3! I would gladly write them.😭🙏
“Didn’t I tell you to do it yesterday?” Miguel questioned.
Before I even did anything he said, “And don’t give me that look. I’ve got better things to do than babysit you and help you with your art project.”
“C’mon it’s due tomorrow and I really need help!” I begged .
“Why should I help you when you've been slacking off like this? I told you to do it yesterday, and you did nothing!”
“But like I was doing something with Gwen sand Hobie sooo..” I trailed off
“Excuses, excuses. I don’t care if you were doing something else. I gave you plenty of time to work on it, right? So you have no one to blame but yourself.”
“Please” I said dragging out the “e” in please.
“Oh, no. Not even if you beg.” Miguel crossed his arms and frowned. “I'm not helping you. You're on your own. And you better get it done on time this time.” I brought out the puppy dog eyes. Miguel rolled his eyes. “Don’t try that puppy dog look with me. My answer is still no.” “C’mon!” I whined
“Did I stutter? I'm not helping you. End of discussion.”
“ It’s a art project about who you look up to!” I begged him again.
Miguel chuckled. “Oh, that’s a sweet, sentimental thing to choose for an art project. Still not helping you, though.”
“Just c’mon” I rolled my eyes
“Nope. Not gonna happen.” Miguel shook his head. “Why should I help you? I already tried to warn you before. The deadline has passed. I'm not giving you special treatment. You can get help from someone else.”
“But everyone else is busy!” I whined
“Not my problem.” Miguel shrugged. “You should have planned better.”
"Please Miggy” I said using his nickname while giving my puppy dog eyes. That had to work.
Miguel sighed. “You’re really giving me a hard time here. Fine, fine. I’ll help you but you have to owe me a favor, okay?”
I nodded, “Deal!” extending my pinky, “Pinky promise!” I smiled
He sighed again. “Okay. Pinky promise.” Miguel smiled and extended his pinky finger as well, wrapping it around mine.
Then we got started with the Art Project.
Miguel and I were now sitting together at a desk, working on the art project. I was relieved that he had agreed to help me after all "So, who is the person you look up to for this project?" Miguel asked.
“You!” I looked up at him and smiled sweetly.
"Me?" Miguel chuckled. "I appreciate the compliment, but are you sure you don't want to choose someone important like your mom, or your dad?"
“Nope”
"Alright, I guess I'm flattered, then." Miguel chuckled. "I'm curious, why do you look up to me?" I had started to tell him why.
“…and your always pushing me to make good decisions that I won’t regret in the future. Almost like another father figure” I added.
Miguel looked pleasantly surprised by my answer. "That's a very mature and kind thing to say, kiddo. I'm glad you view me that way."
I paused for a moment and smiled.
"It does touch me to know you think that way of me."
 I slowly nodded happily.
Miguel and I worked on the project for a while longer. I was grateful to Miguel for helping me finish the project in time.
As I looked at the completed drawing we had created, I smiled and looked up at Miguel. "I'm so glad you helped me with this. I couldn't have done this without you."
Miguel smiled back.
“Your welcome kiddo”

— — — — —
Sunday afternoons tended to be the calmest of all the days of the week. It was mainly spent with catching up on homework assignments, running errands, or just relaxing on the couch with your boyfriend, Jack, and Luke. Today was one of those days.
“Sissy, I love you, and if you weren’t Quinny’s entire world, you’d be mine. But I am—“
“Why can’t I be both of your entire worlds?” you cut him off. Jack tilted his head and gave you a ‘really?’ look, “Shut up, nobody asked you. Anyways, as I was saying, I love you, but I do not want to watch Catching Fire again.”
“But you love it!” you whined.
“Yes, but I don’t want to watch it every week! I don’t care how in love with Finnick you are, I’m picking the movie,” Jack stated. You crossed your arms and pouted, “Fine. Cars?”
Jack sighed and slammed his head down on the arm of the couch, “fucking dammit, fine!”
You cheered and fell into Trevor in celebration when the doorbell rang. Jack got up to open the door, “Oh hey! What are you doing here? Come on in.”
You and Trevor looked over and saw Cole entering the house. You both perked up and smiled at his arrival, “Cole!”
Trevor stood up to greet his friend in one of their weird handshakes they refuse to let you in on, “Hey! Whatcha doing here, buddy?”
Instead of answering immediately, Cole voted to just pick you up right off the couch and into his arms.
“I’m taking her,” Cole stated as if it were the most obvious thing int the world.
Jack, Luke, and Trevor all exchanged confused glances.
“Can he do that?” Trevor asked.
“Well, none of us are Quinn,” Luke said perplexed.
“Can I ask why you’re taking Sissy?” Jack turned to Cole, who was slowly walking to the door to keep conversation.
“I’ve been stressed, so I thought a Y/N day would solve all my problems,” Cole answered. “It works out great for you guys, I thought I’d give it a try.
“She is good at that,” Jack agreed. “Is this just a thing now? We can take her wherever?”
“Not when I’m—“
“With Quinn! Yeah, yeah, we know,” Jack interrupted.
Cole started walking closer to the door with you still i’m his arms. You situated yourself so that your legs were wrapped around his waist and your arms wrapped around his neck.
“Cole! Where are you taking her?!” Trevor shouted at his best friend.
“Anywhere she wants!”
“Can we come?”
“I can’t have a detox with Y/N day with her brothers and boyfriend hanging around!” Cole called out while he opened the front door.
“Bring her back by 6 for dinner!” Jack told him. You saluted him and allowed yourself to be carried out the door to Cole’s car.
“Alright, Caufield. You got 5 hours with me, what’s your game plan?” you asked as you placed your elbow on the middle console to prop your head up to look at him.
“I thought I’d take you out to lunch and then back to my dorm for some video games and maybe smoke a little?” Cole answered.
You quirked and eyebrow, “Where did you acquire bud?”
Instead of answering, Cole reached into his pocket and held up a disposable pen.
“That’s not smoking,” you rolled your eyes.
“Do you want it or not?”
You snatched it out of his hand and inhaled, relaxing back into your seat on the exhale.
“Good?” Cole smiled.
“Hella.”
Cole took you to Chipotle, which you both voted to take it back to Cole’s room to eat so he could rant. You sat perpendicular to the head of his bed and had him lay his head down in your lap so you could play with his hair as he spoke. Most of it was stress handling school and hockey practice four days a week, plus games. Other parts of it was little things, such as missing home and a much comfier bed.
“What if once a week we all get together and do assignments together? And we can get you a comfier mattress topper for your bed to try and make it comfier, and I’d have to ask mom but maybe you can stay in Quinn’s room every once in a while. I sleep in his bed all the time when I miss him so I can confirm it is a top notch bed to sleep in,” you said.
“How do I know if it’s actually top notch or if you just miss your best friend so much you gaslit yourself into liking it?” Cole inquired.
“Do you really think Ellen would let her favorite child sleep on an uncomfortable bed?”
“Good point,” he laughed.
This started to make Cole feel better, so you both decided it was time to play some video games and get a little high for further nerve easing.
“Cole-Baby,” you said after a hit, “it’s time to go.”
“One more round,” he said.
“Uh huh, you are not ten and I am not your mother that you bargain with. Rap it up, pretty boy.”
Cole turned off the game and looked over at you smirking, “you think I’m pretty?”
“I think it got you to turn the game off,” you smirked back and kissed his cheek as you stood up.
You spent the entire car ride practically inhaling water. It won’t sober you up completely, but it’ll ease it. It wasn’t the first time you’d come home a little high, and it certainly won’t be the last, so you didn’t worry. Plus, it wasn’t bud.
You skipped through the door and jumped on top of your boyfriend on the couch when you and Cole walked in.
“Trevy!” you screamed.
“Well hello to you, too, Princess,” Trevor laughed.
“Kiss,” you said, lifting your head up. Trevor gave you a small kiss, since you didn’t like to put on a show when your entire family was around.
Jack eyed you suspiciously. You knew he was onto you, so you snapped twice to signal ‘yes, I am high’ so that he could help cover for you if need be, which was hardly ever needed. He, however, needed it frequently, which is why you two created the signal.
“What was that?” Trevor asked.
“Hugheslepathy. We’ve been over this,” you stated as if it were obvious.
“As your newly declared best friend I would like in on this Hugheslepathy signals,” Cole said.
Everyone looked at him as if he were crazy.
“Buddy, Quinn’s her best friend,” Trevor said.
“Since she was 6,” Luke added.
“They’re Hugheslepathy is so much crazier than ours that I don’t even understand it,” Jack said.
“Plus, I’m your best friend,” Trevor finished the back and forth.
“You can have more than one best friend!” Cole exclaimed.
“Clearly, you haven’t been around Sissy and Quinn enough,” Jack laughed. “They’re a different breed of best friend.”
“You can be best friend number two, Coley, but only if I’m yours!” you exclaimed as you sat up.
“Alright, I’ll settle for number two best friend,” Cole laughed. “Shall we legalize it?”
“We shall,” you nodded. You held out your pinky finger to Cole and he looped his around it and you shook hands. “That’s a pink promise! It’s legally binding!”
Cole smiled and agreed with you.
“Dinner’s ready!” Ellen called out.
Jack walked by you as you got up, “How bad?”
“I barely feel it,” you answered. “My best friend number two does not have strong stuff.”
Cole came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist, “Last time I share with you, then.”
You gasped and escaped out of his hold, “We’re best friend number twos! That means something!”
“Best friend number twos?” Ellen asked. “What about Quinn?”
“That’s why Cole’s number two, Mom,” you laughed.
Ellen smiled at Cole, “Best friend number two, huh? That’s a big role to fill. Are you ready for it?”
Cole slung his arm around you, “I think I can handle it.”

Figuring Things Out - Crowley x Gender Neutral Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Crowley talk about the confusing feelings that came up for you after going out for lunch.
Warnings: Insecurities about eating, body image issues (If I’ve left out any content warnings, please let me know).
(The moodboard above was made by me, using images found on tumblr and Google. Full credit for the images goes to the owners. Credit for the divider goes to firefly graphics, here on tumblr).

“What’s happened?”
Crowley had noticed the shift in your mood from the second you came home. You were talking, but only if he talked first, and you hadn’t looked him in the eye since you stepped into the house.
“What?” You asked, still looking straight ahead at the TV. “Nothing, I’m fine”.
“Something’s off, it wasn’t before. You can tell me”.
You didn’t say anything. Even if you tried, you didn’t think you’d know where to begin.
He snapped his fingers and suddenly the screen in front of you was blank, not that it mattered. You hadn’t been paying attention to whatever was playing in the first place.
Finally you turned to face him, and he said nothing, waiting patiently for you to say whatever you needed to say.
Another few moments passed as you tried to find words that fit whatever this was that you were feeling. Eventually you came up with:
“I just- don’t feel very good right now”.
“Not good how, love? Sick?”
“No, just- gross”.
Crowley frowned. He didn’t like hearing you say that about yourself, and it confused him. There was nothing gross about you.
“Gross? Did something happen at lunch? Did somebody upset you?”
He was beginning to worry, and that protective instinct of his kicked in immediately.
“I guess I did.” you answered with a shrug, as if feigning indifference would get rid of everything else you were feeling.
“You did? All you did was go out to eat, love”.
“I know.” You replied, your voice empty.
Crowley paused and thought over your words for a few moments. You fought the urge to look away from him, but you did. It was just too much.
Finally he asked, “Is that what’s bothering you? Going to lunch made you feel bad?”
“Not going to lunch, just…”
“Eating?”
You didn’t say yes, you didn’t even nod. You couldn’t admit it, verbally or otherwise. Instead you said:
“and it’s never happened before- I- I don’t-“
Your voice broke and trembled as you tried to push your way to the end of a sentence you didn’t know how to finish.
“Hey, hey, look at me,” Crowley placed his finger beneath your chin and tilted your head towards him, “breathe”.
You took a shaky breath and closed your eyes for a moment, before meeting his eyes once again.
“I don’t know what’s going on.” you told him, and the sadness in your eyes sent a sharp pain right through his chest.
“Listen to me. Whatever this is, you can figure it out, I promise. We can figure it out”.
You hid your face in his shoulder, and he wrapped his arms around you, resting his chin on the top of your head.
“I feel so stupid.” you muttered.
“You aren’t stupid, and you aren’t gross either”.
“It’s just one thing after another with me, isn’t it?” You laughed bitterly. “Why can’t I catch a break?”
“We agreed to be honest with each other, that’s all you’re doing.” he reassured you, “That’s a good thing”.
“I don’t know what to do, or think”.
He held you without saying anything for a bit, then he replied, “Maybe take some time and see how you feel, then we’ll go from there.”
You nodded against his shoulder, and he pulled you away from him slightly, so you could look at each other again, then he told you:
“I want you to promise me you won’t try to struggle through it by yourself if things continue this way, alright?”
“I…”
“Baby, I know you’re scared right now, but I need you to be brave, for me, and most of all, for yourself”.
You hesitated, deep in thought, then eventually you nodded again.
“Say it.” he encouraged you.
“I promise, that I won’t keep secrets from you, and I’ll tell you if I need help”.
“Good,” he kissed your forehead. “I’m already proud of you”.

Silent Pain | Part 1
Edmund Pevensie x Fem!Reader | Request: Edmund x reader where the reader is bubbly and a bit of an airhead who is very feminine. She meets the Pevensie family as Lucy’s best friend. Edmund dislikes her because of how carefree she is and how negative things never seem to affect her. Overtime, he slowly starts to warm up to her and they start to become friends and maybe even more. | Word count: 2K
A/N: I worked on this for so long trying to get it just right. I really like the result and I hope you all do too! I had to make it a series because this part was 2,000 words and I just couldn’t fit everything I wanted without making it ridiculously long.
Tumblr media
I bounced over to where Lucy was sitting at her desk and placed my hands on my best friend’s shoulders. “Take a deep breath,” I said. “You got this.” Lucy nodded and slowly opened the letter in her hands. I watched as she read, keeping my hands on her shoulders for moral support. After a couple minutes, Lucy jumped out of her seat in excitement. “I got it!” She yelled. “I got the internship!” I squealed in excitement and threw my arms around her. “I knew you would!” I shouted back.
“What is all the shouting going on in here?” Lucy’s brother, Edmund poked his head into the room and asked. “I got my internship!” She said. Edmund raised his eyebrows and nodded in response. “Congratulations, Lu. I’m proud of you.” “We should go out tonight! To celebrate!” I suggested. Lucy’s smile somehow got even bigger. “Yes! Oh, can we Ed? Please? Please?” She grabbed onto his arm in anticipation of his answer. Edmund stared at her for a moment before sighing in defeat. “Alright, we’ll go out tonight.” “Yay!” Lucy jumped around the room celebrating. I laughed and Edmund just rolled his eyes.
“I have to go tell everyone!” Lucy said and rushed out of the room, leaving me alone with Edmund. I smiled at Edmund. “So, do you have any big plans for the summer?” I asked him. Edmund shrugged. “Probably just work and hang out with some friends. You?” “I’ll probably be working on my portfolio! I’ve been getting into photography and fashion lately.” “Yeah, that sounds like something you would be into.” My smile faltered slightly but I brushed off his comment and responded happily. “I am! It’s been really fun.” Edmund rolled his eyes once more and followed Lucy out of the room. I walked out as well and ran into Lucy in the living room of the Pevensie home. “Y/N! Everyone has agreed to come out with us tonight. Even Peter!” I beamed at her. “That’s great! I should probably get home and get ready then.” “Alright!” She responded. “I’ll see you tonight!” I waved and turned to walk out the door.
-
I brushed my fingers over my dress, smoothing out the wrinkles. I picked up my makeup brush and dusted a light amount of blush over my nose and cheeks. I slipped my favorite shoes on and rushed out the door saying goodbye to my family on the way out. The headlights in the driveway indicated that the Pevensies were already here and I ran to the car, hopping into the back next to Edmund and Lucy. “Thanks for making us late,” Edmund grumbled under his breath. My eyes widened. “Oh no! I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to!” I said. Peter turned to look at me and shook his head. “No worries! We should still be on time.” I nodded and breathed a small sigh in relief.
Edmund looked me up and down. “I’d ask what took you so long but it’s pretty obvious.” I knitted my brows in confusion. “What do you mean?” I asked. “Your hair, your makeup, your dress. It’s a bit much don’t you think?” He said. “Well, I think she looks beautiful!” Lucy piped in. “I’d have to agree,” Peter said from the front of the car. I blushed while Edmund just turned away from me in annoyance.
The ride to the restaurant was short but filled with fun conversation and quiet music. When Peter pulled into the parking lot and put the car in park, the four siblings and I quickly shuffled out. “I’ll go make sure our reservation is ready,” Peter said. We all nodded and I watched as Peter walked into the restaurant. Once he disappeared, I turned back to Lucy to make quiet conversation. “What are you two whispering about?” Susan asked, coming to stand next to us. Lucy smirked and glanced over at Edmund, making sure he was far away. “I think Edmund has a crush on Y/N.” I nearly laughed out loud. “No, he doesn’t,” I assured them. Susan looked at both girls in consideration. “I’d be inclined to agree with Y/N. Ed doesn’t seem like the romantic type honestly.” Lucy groaned in response. “But, it would be so cute!” I just shook my head. Before I had time to think up a response, Peter appeared once more. “The table is ready!”
All of us shuffled into the restaurant and followed our server to the table. I ended up sitting in a booth with Edmund on my left side and Lucy on my right. Our server asked for our drink orders and we all placed them. As we all talked and waited, Edmund’s shoulder bumped into mine. “Oh, I’m sorry!” I said. “It’s fine. Just watch out.” He said. I smiled at him in response. “Okay!” He narrowed his eyes at me and I stared back at him, still smiling. “Why are you looking at me like that?” I asked. “You’re just… annoyingly happy tonight,” He said. “I’m always annoyingly happy!” I said, giggling. “Yeah, no kidding.” He seemed done talking to me after that so I turned back to the rest of the group. The rest of the night was spent talking and laughing and celebrating Lucy’s accomplishment.
After we all finished eating, we piled back into the car and headed home. Peter dropped me off and I waved goodbye to everyone before going back inside my house. I was pretty tired so I went up to my room and changed into my pajamas. Before climbing into my bed, I checked the notifications on my phone and saw a text from Lucy. “Thanks for coming out with me tonight! I had a blast.” I typed back, “Anytime! I’ll see you tomorrow!” I went to plug my phone in but it dinged with the notification sound once more. “Can’t wait! BTW Edmund is going to be joining us at the park.” I bit my lip as I read her message and typed back a thumbs up. I put my phone away and went to sleep.
-
The next day, I woke up early to get ready for going to the park with Lucy. I threw on some shorts, a cute top, and styled my hair the way I liked it. About the time I was done getting ready, I had a text from Lucy telling me that she was here to pick me up. I grabbed my backpack and ran out of the house. I hesitated when I saw that Edmund was the one driving, but I opened the car door and climbed into the backseat. “Hey guys!” I said.
Lucy waved excitedly and Edmund nodded slightly. Lucy turned around to talk to me and we made quiet conversation as Edmund drove us to the park. When we arrived, both Lucy and I jumped out of the car excitedly. Lucy held a bag of seeds in her hands and we momentarily locked eyes. We both broke out smiling and began running towards the lake. I laughed as we raced and laughed even harder when Lucy stumbled over a tree branch. I slowed to a stop and turned around to make sure she was okay. “You alright?” I asked her. She nodded, laughing. “I’m okay.” Her cheeks were red and her hair was already a mess from the wind. I’m sure I looked about the same.
We walked the rest of the way to the lake with our arms linked. When we reached the edge of the lake, there were already several ducks swimming in the water. “Do you want to feed them first?” She asked me. I nodded excitedly and grabbed a handful of seeds from the bag. I sat down and waited for the ducks to approach me. When they did, I held out my hand and they ate the seeds hungrily. I giggled the whole time and couldn’t wipe the smile off my face even when they were done eating. I stood back up and brushed the dirt off my pants.
“Why do you find this so exciting?” Edmund asked me. “Because they’re so cute!” I responded. He looked at me as if he was trying to figure out if I was being serious or not. “They’re ducks.” He said, looking bored. I shrugged and grabbed another handful of seeds out of the bag. I walked back over to Edmund and opened up his hand, dropping the seeds into it. “Here. You try.” I said. He rolled his eyes and threw the seeds onto the ground. “No thanks.” I bit my lip and walked back to where Lucy was standing. “Edmund seems in a worse mood than usual today.” I said. She turned to look at him and sighed. “I’m not sure what his deal is today,” she responded. She handed me the bag of seeds. “I’m gonna run to the bathroom.” I nodded and watched as she walked away. Now, it was just me and Edmund.
I hovered next to him awkwardly, occasionally throwing seeds to the ducks. “So…” I started. “What have you been up to today?” He glanced at me before answering. “Mostly just working on homework stuff,” He said while kicking at the ground with his foot. I nodded my head. “That seems like fun. Well, maybe not fun exactly but it’s always good to be ahead with schoolwork instead of behind.” I realized I was rambling and trailed off, waiting to see if he would respond. “Right.” I sighed. He was just so hard to talk to. “Are you having a bad day?” I decided to ask him. He looked surprised that I asked him but quickly recovered his emotionless exterior. “No. Why would you think that?” He asked me.
“You just seem like you’re in a bad mood,” I said. “Well, coming to the park with two screaming girls isn’t exactly my idea of a fun time.” He responded. “Then why did you come?” I asked. I instantly felt bad and tried to save the conversation. “Not that I didn’t want you to come, it's just-” He cut me off before I could finish. “Lucy asked me to drive so I drove. I probably wouldn’t have if I’d known you would be here.” I took a small step back, my feelings slightly hurt. “What does that mean?” “I think it’s pretty obvious at this point.” “Do you not like me or something?” “That’s pretty much it.” “But…why? I’ve never done anything to you.” “You just try too hard. It’s annoying.” He said.
At this point, I could feel the tears behind my eyes and it was a struggle to hold them back. I knew that we weren’t exactly friends but I thought it was just because he associated me with his little sister. I never realized he actively disliked me. Lucy came back before I had time to respond. “Hey guys!” She shouted. I plastered a smile onto my face and waved to her as she approached.
“Hey Lu? Do you think we could head home?” I asked her. She frowned, and I continued talking, trying to come up with a good excuse to leave. “I just remembered I have a ton of homework to catch up on. The end of school is the busiest time.” She didn’t look totally convinced but she nodded and led us back to the car. Edmund drove us by my house and I hopped out of the car with a small goodbye.
I threw my backpack on the floor, telling myself I would just unpack it later. I crawled into my bed and allowed myself some time to wallow in my self-pity. After a while of crying, my sadness began to turn to anger. Edmund doesn’t even know me! How dare he judge me? I wiped the tears off my face and sat up. If he didn’t like me, fine. I would show him that I don’t give a damn about his opinion. I texted Lucy and asked if she wanted to come over (after I finished my supposed homework). I got out of bed and looked at my splotchy but determined face in the mirror. We had some serious work to do.
A/N: I did change this request a little bit! I don’t love the whole femininity=stupidity idea so I didn’t really make her dumb but I did make her kind, carefree, and supportive as well as feminine. Also, I made this a modern AU just cause. Hope you enjoyed the read! :)
