Sooo, way back in September, I was too busy with real life bullshit to really do much to commemorate the birthday of the lovely @artisticreptilequeen , but I did keep the idea of drawing a gift in the backburner until I had a chance to ask them for a prompt. And this was it: some nice domestic fluff with Severus, Evelyn and Soren basking in the joy of Eloise's upcoming debut into the world.
It's been ages I don't draw three people in the same image, and this took a whole lot of looking at references, but I'm happy with how soft and domestic it is. And after some trial and error, the unfinished sketch look is what suited it best, and I like the warmth it gave the whole thing.
And I hope ya'll like your Snape with a little stubble and a ponytail who doesnt look like a man in his 50s is supposed to, I guess...

Chapter 5
Professor!Snape x Female Student Reader
Summary: What happens when Snape falls in love with a 7th year student at hogwarts just 8 years after the death of his first love. What will happen when she discovers the darkest sides of him and brings up trauma from her own past. Will she stay with him despite what she learns? Reader is of age.

For the sake of the story line Sinistra is not the Astronomy professor.
It was now the end of spring break and y/n found her self dreading the start of class after her blissful week in Severus is arms. There was no other place she ever wanted to be, she could have died and she would have been content as long as her death was in his arms. One week of just him, never having to leave his arms. She learned everything about him, his child hood. As she laid in his arms he caressed her gently and told her stories of his child hood. His talented mother and muggle father. She told him of her childhood. How it was growing up in manor. The disappearance of her sister Eloise. He held her every night into the day. The night terrors continued through the break, they were tolerable in Severus is arms. She woke up one night screaming and crying.
“I remember when Eloise left, she left a note on my bed. Dear sister, I love you but I must go, I hope you can find in your heart to forgive me, love Eloise.”
“I’m so sorry my dear.”
“That’s the issue though Sev, I don’t think she left. They did something to her. She has to be kept on the grounds someplace. She would have never left such a generic note. Love Eloise. Thats just not like her.”
“Where would they keep her.”
“The grounds are so large, deep underground. All the underground passages are connected, so large.”
“I believe I remember seeing them. How far do they go?”
“Far, all the way to grounds keeper’s shack. It’s the length of the house and then some. It’s all concrete, she would freeze to death down there.”
“Are you sure she could have just escaped.”
“Id love to believe that, but I know it in my heart, shes not safe. And it doesn’t help that I’m such a coward. I can’t go back Severus, I’ll be forced to marry, or worse.”
“You’re not a coward, you endured so much at that house.”
That was over now, it was a new week, back to courses, first class of the morning, potions. She put on her necklace from Severus and didn’t tuck it under her shirt she wore it out and proud. The man who loves her gave this to her and she loves him to. While they haven’t said it out loud to each other she knows deep inside that he loves her. As she entered the potions room and helped gather supplies for that mornings lesson as she always did Severus appeared behind her. He leaned down, lips to her ear,” are you sure you should be wearing that for everyone to see.”
“Yes, I’m certain.”
“You’re not worried about what people will say, question. Where you got it from.”
“Family heirloom.”
“Hmm.” The vibrations of his ‘hmm’ on her neck tickled, his lips kissed and nipped. His tongue soothed. She was ready for him to take her right then and there and that room but nonetheless, he adjusted her shirt for her and they went into the potions class room, she took her seat and others began to enter, Edith took her seat next to. “Nice hickey you have going on.”
“What?” Y/n questioned.
“Your hickey, it’s like you had a leach on your neck.”
“Oh my bad.”
“So who is the lucky lad you shagged over break.”
“Oh nobody. Just a strange reaction to something.”
“Oh alright, I suppose. Touch yourself to Snape plenty?”
“Ms. Y/l/n, Ms.Carrington am I interrupting something important.?” He said
“No, sorry professor.” Y/n replied quickly
“Professors pet.” Edith mumbled.
Class went on as usual. Y/n stayed behind and waited for the first years to arrive in class. She sat and watched as Severus made two first years leave the class crying.
“You’re so harsh on them.”
“I don’t see how, I shouldn’t have stuffer do to there idiocracy. You were so bright as a first year.”
“Yes because my parents wanted to make sure I wasn’t a reflection of their failures the way they saw Eloise.”
“I suppose so.”
She sat in his lap at his desk and ran her fingers through his hair, she loved his long black hair so much.
“I have something to tell you,”Severus began, “we won’t be able to meet in my quarters before dinner. I have things to discuss with Dumbledore.”
“Oh okay, I understand.” She responded, her hand now gently on his chest.
“I promise I rather be with you than that old fool.” She gently kissed his lips and said, “I know, I trust you.”
She carried on her day, lunch with Severus, herbology, defense against the dark arts, she studied for her OWLS with Edith and a few other girls in her sleeping quarters and walked with them to the great hall for dinner. She couldn’t take her eyes off Severus, scowling at Dumbledore the whole meal. Something’s happened and she knows it. She doesn’t even finish her meal and she’s off to Severus is living quarters, Edith is yelling for her and she doesn’t flinch, simply carries on. Once she enters it’s not long that Severus arrives as well.
“Tell me the truth Severus, what happened in your meeting with headmaster. I’m not an idiot, you were sat there scowling at him and not touching your meal.”
“I told him.”
“You told him what.”
“That I love you.”
“That’s lovely, you told him before you’ve told me.”
“Y/n-“
“Why would you do such a thing. You could have gotten your self fired. or worse sent to azkaban.”
“you have nothing to worry about, no such thing will happen, there are no laws in place about teachers and students and besides your of age.”
“I dont understand though Severus, why.”
“I wanted to learn more about your father. I never learned much of him even though I was in his home nearly once a week for meetings. Other than the fact that he has two daughters and a wife.”
“We have two house elves. My mother and father are both the last living relatives of their respective bloodlines. Besides Eloise, Lucy and I. So what else did you learn by visiting the headmaster.”
“I learned that Eloise is not your full sister. That your father killed his first wife.”
“I know. That’s why he has no problem marrying me off to someone who killed his own wife as well. My father is 15 years older than my mother. She was 16 when her father arranged for her marriage. Frankly they are match made in hell. They’re both just as cold and thats why my mother never cared to protect Eloise from my father. She always used to say that it was Eloise is mums fault that she got her self killed.”
“I swore to my self the first day you cried in my arms I would protect you till the day I die.”
“Severus, you simply can’t, believe me, i wish it was that simple.”
“Move in with me, if you’re with me at all times I can at least try.”
“Oh Severus, of course I will, but hold on we’re not finished discussing what happened between you and Dumbledore.”
“I had to find some way to protect you, after the school year, after the summer. I cant leave you alone at home unprotected. So I went to Dumbledore. He remembers your father from when he attended Hogwarts. Your father has begun training Lucy.”
“No, he couldn’t be, she’s only 9.”
“Now that you’re not returning home he needs to prepare her for the return of the dark lord.”
“Severus I have to do something, I have to protect her.”
“We will figure something out, together. For now you will stay here at Hogwarts where you are safe.”
“Why else did you tell Dumbledore about us?”
“He’s prepared to offer you a job, you will no longer be my assistant, the astronomy professor wishes to retire, you will take over for her in the next school year, but you must study under her from now on in preparation for the fall.”
“Severus, thank you.”
“Of course, I love you.”
“I love you too.” But she didn’t know how much Severus truly loved her, he would die for her if thats what it took to protect her. For now he knew she could go no where near y/l/n manor, who knows what torture they would inflict upon her.
~Severus’ meeting with Dumbledore ~
“Albus.” Severus began, as he entered Dumbledore office.
“How can I help you severus?”
“It’s Y/f/n.”
“Ah yes, her family is sending for her to be retrieved directly from the school the last day of term.”
“We need to protect her.”
“Severus.”
“Albus, they will kill her. I can’t loose her the way I lost Lilly.”
“Severus I warned you to be careful.”
“They will kill her, she doesn’t know it yet but they’ve killed her older sister Eloise.”
“I know, it’s a shame what happened to that poor girl. Does y/n know?”
“No she does not, and no one shall tell her. She has night terrors from what she witnessed in that house.”
“Severus.”
“Please, keep her safe.”
“It appears you are capable of doing that on your own.”
“She’s coming back with me to Hogwarts in the next school year then.”
“She’ll no longer be a student Severus. She can’t return.”
“Offer her a position here.”
“I suppose i could offer her the astronomy position, but she would need to study under professor Alveston and not you Severus.”
“That’s fine, I’ll discuss it with her. I’m certain she will accept.”
“In that case she begins in the morning, no time to waste I suppose.”
“No, I suppose not.”

What is "essential" for you when characterizing Lily and James?

Oh! I love this question! I thought about it for James long and hard when writing EW because I obviously wanted to make him evil while still having him feel like James, and I wrote down all my thoughts on that here 😁
For Lily, I dunno, I guess it’s a bit harder to put into words. (Haaaa, maybe it’s bc I personally relate to James more, so she’s this unknown wonderful enigma whom I love.)
Cheeky. Obviously cheeky. Like, do you get how sassy and wonderful you have to be in order to get labeled it by a professor? Like this is no wilting wallflower nor is she some goody two-shoes — even if she was smart and responsible enough to make Head Girl. This girl can cut a bitch with her sass and I love that for her.
That being said, the professor in question still liked her. I find that insanely impressive, which implies she had a level of skill and cunning whilst applying said sass. Also explains why Slughorn thought she should be a Slytherin even when she was a Gryffindor.
The Gryffindor aspect also obviously gives her bravery and loyalty and all that jazz, but she was also labeled as kind. And I think that’s important, bc we have this girl who’s an outsider and bullied by a lot of the wizarding population, but she’s still willing to hear individual people out (Snape) and make her own opinions about them despite what her house and the status quo says, which makes me thinks she’s super independent and stubborn too. She literally walked away from a group of girls to go yell at James — this popular, hot, Quidditch star — all by herself. Mind you, she’s a teenager, and she’s like, “No, you’re wrong, and I’m going to tell you why.” That takes balls. I also love that one of her only flashbacks is her absolutely annihilating this man, and she’s still labeled as kind. To me, it just goes to show that she’s strong willed too, and suffers not a single fool. She didn’t need backup like he did, she was like, “Yo, let me teach this idiot a lesson,” and then she did.
Obviously this stubbornness can work in her detriment in that she denied going out with her husband for years after he asked her out 😅 but, you know. Girl’s got standards 😉 But at least she can admit when she’s wrong. Humility.

This was an alternative gift/surprise for @artisticreptilequeen
As you may know, Soren's birthday is on Halloween, so, obviously, he always gets whatever costume he wants and spooky themed birthday parties.
And since their mother is a literature nerd and their father is a perpetual goth, Soren and Eloise get to wear costumes like these: The Raven, and The Masque of the Red Death, because what's more Halloween than the Snape siblings dressed as Edgar Allan Poe characters.

Author’s note: I really like this request especially since the fourth movie is one of my favs, so thank you for requesting it! Just like George's one shot, this will be heavily inspired by the movie (I'm essentially putting the reader into the movie). Before proceeding, I highly recommend rewatching these scenes lol!
Gryffindor practice for the Yule Ball
Fred asks Angelina to the ball (obviously we're pretending it's George who asks her <3)
It was fairly rare to have the Gryffindors sit together in a room mastered by the head teacher. Nevertheless, the entirety of Gordic Gryffindor's current house members has gathered in the spacious room, a million things running through their minds.
McGonagall looked fierce as she appropriated the room like something very serious was going to happen.
Your thoughts seemed to be correct as she whisked her wand in the air, pulling you away from your boyfriend to stand on a completely different side of the room.
You frowned, Fred did too. He was just about to swoop in and kiss you.
"D-did she just?" You asked puzzledly, not quite believing your luck. A couple from seventh year were eating each other's faces in the corner, but she picked you and Fred instead?!
"Yeah," Hermione mused, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. "I think she did."
Fiercely blushing, you sat back down. "I cannot believe my luck."
"What do you mean?" Hermione asked. She herself has been appointed to stand with the girls on the other side, leaving her two best friends to themselves and the boys.
"This is the sixth time she has caught us," you told her, catching Minerva's eyes in that exact moment. You wouldn't be surprised if the woman heard you; she is a cat most of the time, and cats have significantly better hearing than humans do.
"The Yule ball has been a tradition of the-" Professor McGonagall attempted although her words were cut by Flinch as he plotted around the huge record player. "-Triwizard Tournament since its inception."
She shared nothing new.
So, what is she on about?
You glanced at your boyfriend, knowing which one out of the two he is immediately. Fred laughed with his twin about Merlin knows what, picking at Ron in the process. You shook your head, focusing your attention back to your head teacher.
"On Christmas Eve night," she continued, slowly walking in a straight line across the floor. "we and our guests gather in the Great Hall for a night of well-mannered frivolity."
Ginny leaned her head against her shoulder, getting bored. You smiled at the act, deciding to share her enthusiasm by mimicking it.
After a while of being stuck in a singular position you had decided to place your chin on the top of her head instead.
"As representatives of the host school I expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward, and I mean this literally because the Yule ball is first and foremost..." The dreaded sentence was coming. You could see it in her facial expression. "A dance."
Ginny's head flew up suddenly, banging against yours so hard you had to hold your jaw in pain. "Oh Y/N, I'm so sorry!" she squeaked, palpably petrified with what she has done to her older brother's girlfriend.
"No, no," you waved your hand, testing your jaw by moving it in circular motions. "It's alright Ginny."
"But what if it gives you a bruise?" She asked frightened. "The ball is just around the corner!"
Your eyes widened at that and before you could soothe the girl, Hermione had butted in. "She'll be fine Ginny. Besides, Fred is so smitten by her he genuinely won't care."
"True," you added in agreement, holding your chin after wrapping your free hand around the smaller girl to cheer her up. Ginny calmed down and returned to her bright, usual self soon after.
The quick accident helped you better ignore the agonizing groans of the boys that generously outmatched the giggling. While most of the girls, including yourself, enjoyed the aspect of dancing with a gentleman, the boys didn't like the thought of becoming one so much.
You searched for Fred's eyes the second you could, finding him already looking at you from afar. He was quick in mouthing an 'Are you okay?' and pointing to his own jaw for better explanation.
You nodded but still mouthed an 'ow' for dramatics sake.
Fred knew his little sister's strength, but he also knew your pain tolerance and that made him less concerned. Fred then sent you a wink accompanied by a wicked grin of excitement. Being a couple played in your favor excellently.
Most of the girls feared being partnerless at the ball, so you felt very content with yourself. You secured yourself both an escort and a dance partner by just loving a boy that was able to be serious if you ever asked him to be.
"Silence!" McGonagall raised both her hands in the air, "The house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the wizard word for nearly 10 centuries."
She then continued, "I will not have you in the course of a single evening besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling bumbling band of baboons."
"Babbling what now?" You asked in amazement. She was very creative with her words; you give her that.
From the corner of your eye you saw your boyfriend monkeying around with his brother, staying true to his teasing nature by making fun of McGonagall's words.
"Now. To dance is to let the body..." She took a deep breath as she said that, "...breathe. Inside every girl a secret swan slumbers, longing to burst free and take flight."
Fred's younger brother, Ron, decided to take that inspirational moment to comment about Eloise Midgen, a girl that was sitting very close to you, Hermione and Ginny. You shook your head, not liking his comment at all.
McGonagall heard it but finished her sentence nevertheless, saying something about boys having a lion inside of them. "Mr. Weasley."
Ron looked at her through a fringe of red hair, "Yes..."
"Would you join me, please." She was already by his side as she said that.
"I'd dance with that woman anytime." A girl from your year mumbled, creating quite big hysterics of agreement among the girls. You started to laugh, Ron's face and the girls' comments becoming too much for you to handle.
Ron on the other hand sat awkwardly and glanced around the room in which his housemates were all eagerly waiting for his slip, panicked beyond comprehension. Even Harry who had his arm bandaged due to being an actual contestant in the Tournament, eagerly pushed him up with his healthy one.
McGonagall had Ron in her vise hold. The poor boy couldn't go anywhere without making a complete fool of himself. The music started to play, and Fred and George were loving the sight in front of them as they kept throwing in whistles and remarks that made everyone smile. A years' worth of teasing material had just appeared without them doing so much as moving a finger to make it happen.
On the other side of the room, you weren't breathing. Literal tears formed in your eyes when Ginny made a joke on Ron's account.
"Everybody come together! Boys on your feet!"
You had coughed up your laughter immediately, although the giggles seemed to be a permanent thing. You stood to your feet and dashed across the room for Fred after hearing a fifth year tell her friend how she was going to ask him to partner up.
You leaped into his arms, relieved to have snatched him before anyone else could.
"Woah there, love," Fred mused, placing his hand on your waist like Professor McGonagall had instructed. While teasing his younger brother, Fred managed to pick up the essential parts of the dance because he didn't want to tramp all over your feet and have to carry you to Madam Pomfrey. "Thought I'd leave you hanging?"
Although Fred didn't mind hoisting you up into a princess-carry and acting out a heroic save, he was, quite frankly terrified of the wrath you would unleash on him if he was the reason you wouldn't be able to wear your heels to the ball.
"Actually," your laughter broke down as you two started to dance in steady pace around the room. "I didn't want you to partner up with someone else."
Genuine confusion crossed his features after that, "Come again?"
"I heard several girls talk about how they're going to ask you partner up with them," you mumbled just as the tune changed and he swiftly helped you twirl before pulling you back so you were flush against his chest. "Are you sure they weren't talking about George? He actually-"
"Is your name Fred?" You cut him off.
"Yeah..."
You gave him a look that said well-there-you-go.
"If it makes you feel any better," Fred whispered, voice raspy as he gripped your waist and pulled you against him as if you weren't already glued together before. His mouth slowly found its way to your neck and you shivered under the proximity. "I only have eyes for you."
You didn't get to enjoy the moment as you heard Ron scream, his lust for sibling revenge overtaking. "Professor, Fred and Y/N are snogging! It's kind of disgusting, actually!"
"Mr. Weasley! Miss Y/LN!"
"Not again!" Fred and you said simultaneously.

You sat in between Fred and Neville in the great hall, working mostly with Fred on an essay Snape had assigned for you during this study session. You talked quietly with Neville while at it too, sharing deep compassion as you helped answer some questions he had for you about Herbology, keeping professor Sprout out of your mouth as much as possible. You didn't want Snape to find out you were talking about a subject that wasn't his.
Ron's muttering was very much loud as he kept going on about how depressed he was. "Well maybe you should just get yourself a girlfriend then. Like me." Fred whispered proudly, eyeing Snape who was walking around the hall like a soldier.
You mimicked Fred's smirk and turned to Ron, "It's not as easy as it looks."
"Getting a girlfriend, you mean?" Ron said, his face falling into an ever deeper frown when you nodded. "Bloody hell... How is that supposed to help?"
"It isn't," you told him. "Fred's just speaking nonsense. Don't listen to him."
Your boyfriend just grinned, slinging his arm over your shoulder but taking it off as soon as Snape glared at it. You swallowed a bubble of laughter that threatened to slip past your lips.
Out of the blue, George scribbled something on a piece of paper, folding it and throwing it at Ron, apparently not trusting his voice to say whatever he wanted to out loud.
You watched as Ron read it through, turning to your boyfriend, the quill in your hand now long forgotten. "What did George write?"
"Get a move on or all the good ones will have gone." Fred whispered, pressing a kiss to your temple as proof to you that he took no part in that message.
"Good ones..." you muttered mockingly. "Pig."
Fred laughed, stuffing his mouth into the sleeve of his shirt to muffle it. He then turned to his brother and told him what you thought of his message. George leaned behind Fred to scowl at you carefully, so Snape doesn't see.
You both stuck out your tongues to each other like kids at the same time and while you returned straight to work, the younger twin continued to converse with Ron. Eventually George threw a paper ball at Angelina and you watched as the paper ball flew past your eyes, missing you by a millimeter. George had made a good shot as the paper ball bounced off Angelina's body. It urged her to look at George as he acted out the question, "You want to go to the ball with me?"
Angelina nodded, surprising you.
"Seriously?" You asked your close friend.
"What?" She shrugged, "He's cute."
Your raised brow catched Angelina off guard. "And funny..."
"As long as you don't mistake him for Fred," You whispered, "I support it."
Fred chuckled next to you.
"I won't be going alone because believe it or not someone asked me!" Hermione exclaimed, most likely because of Ron. You weren't paying attention to either of them, only starting to do so when Hermione stormed across the hall to Snape and handed him her finished assignment. She turned to grab her things whilst putting Ron in his place. "And I said yes!"
"Please don't tell me Ron asked her to the ball as a last resort," You sighed once Hermione disappeared behind the doors.
"I'm afraid he did, love," Fred answered.
You shook your head at Ron in disappointment, "Fred, did I ever tell you how much I'm grateful for you?"
Fred's smile intensified as he shook his head. "No, I don't think you did."
For that, you listened to your gut and grabbed him by his red Gryffindor tie, pulling him to you until your lips connected. Unfortunately, the kiss lasted for only a second due to Snape crawling around the place like the snake he is, but the brief kiss still left you breathless. Left you wanting more. "Want to get out of here?"
"Mhmm," you said with an eager nod of your head. Your brain was mushed and you only had time to whisper to Neville where he could find the answers about the Bouncing Bulb he's been desperate to find more about before Fred pulled you to your feet and grabbed both your stuff. In return, you collected both Fred and yours assignment and stuffed them into Snape's arms. "Have a lovely day, Professor."
"As I said Ron," Fred said smiling, glancing at you and Snape. "Better go get yourself a girlfriend…before the good ones are taken."
"I think the bloody best one is taken already," Ron mumbled with a pout, every male close to him responding in agreement.
Fred winked at them all, a winning smirk plastered on his face as he grabbed your hand and eagerly pulled you outside to do whatever your hearts desired in that moment.

About Me!
I love to read and write! My favorite book so far is The Imposter Queen by Sarah Fine! I love to listen to music, it’s my comfort! I listen to all sorts of things, it’s a bit of a jumble! I listen to musicals (Anastasia, Hamilton - the best musical ever -, Heathers, Into The Woods, My Fair Lady, Aladdin), Disney (you are never to old for Disney), ABBA, Queen, Tate McRae, Olivia Rodrigo, Jasmine Cephas-Jones, Dove Cameron, Nessa Barrett, Demi Lovato, Madison Beer, Amy Adams-- I could go on and on but I’ll stop! My favorite song right now is between That’s How You Know by Amy Adams, and Speechless by Naomi Scott!
I like to sing, but I probably sound like a dying donkey when I do.
I have a 100 fictional wives and husbands, you can ask Jae....
I have one little sister, who is my best friend. My mom is a fucking badass, even though she’s super scary when she’s mad. She has a boyfriend is pretty awesome. My gramma is hilarious, especially when we’re in the car listening to Cabinet Battle #2 by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
I love food. My favorite meal is steak, and asparagus (yes, it sounds gross, but my mom makes amazing asparagus, and her boyfriend makes killer steak), I could survive off of that and ice cream. McDonald’s - or Micky D’s as I call it - has the best french fries, but Sonic’s M&M Sonic Blast is the beez neez.
I’m extremely possessive of my books. I can’t let anyone other than my mom, gramma, and sister borrow them because I’m scared they’ll get ruined. One time, I loaned my sister’s friend one of my books, and didn’t get back until a year later. It was completely ruined, she left it outside, while it was raining. That ended me letting people borrow my books. I love hardback because my books don’t get ruined as easily.
My favorite color is blue, but white, black and grey are definitely on the the top five!
I love wearing sweatshirts, and shorts! I hate pants, but I hope that’ll change soon! I’m going to change my entire closet when I go shopping. I love to shop, but sister does not. I don’t wear makeup, since it’s so much work, and not really worth it. I love my converse, but I probably need new ones. I want to learn about five different language, including sign language! I hate PE, it’s just so stupid, for me at least!
I bit my nails so much when I was little that they’re completely ruin, so I’m gonna ruin them even more and do acrylics!
When I write it takes me a long time since I had a whole bunch of ideas scrambling around in my head, but it’s like a long way away. I get a lot of book ideas all at once, because of this, I have to write my ideas down in a journal to get them out of my head and not create them all at once. I have seven open unfinished books, with about 14 in my journal.
I don’t really like going outside, but I love when it rains. When I’m driving and it’s raining, I always have the window down, so I can hear it. I don’t like thunder, it’s scary. Lighting is cool, as long as it’s far far away from me.
I love deers, they’re just so cute! I want one but everyone keeps telling me no. When I’m older, I’m going to get a very big dog that is very fluffy, and a pomeranian!
I hate sharks. They’re mostly why I won’t go in the ocean. Jaws definitely did it for me. But I love the water! I could swim for days!

Introducing: Mary MacDonald
I don't have the right name
O-o-o-or the right looks
But I have twice the heart
Mary Eloise MacDonald is a Muggleborn witch both to Hector and Olivia MacDonald in Edenborough; she is the elder sister to Zander MacDonald, though her brother is a Muggle.
Shy and gentle natured, Mary was accepted into Hogwarts and Sorted into Gryffindor, becoming fast friends with Lily Evans and Marlene McKinnon, as well as Dorcas Meadows. While she wasn’t often one to get into confrontations, preferring the peaceful route, she knew how to protect the underdog when she could, often taking the younger students under her wing as she got older. Indeed, she was frequently tutoring her classmates, as her grades were very good, and she had a thirst for knowledge.
Unfortunately for Mary, her time at Hogwarts was fraught with tension due to the Wizarding War with Lord Voldemort. Many pureblood supremist who sought to join the Death Eaters often made it a game to torment those they saw as inferior, and Mary was one such victim, attacked by Mulciber II and Avery, to aspiring Death Eaters, via Dark Magic. She was injured enough to be nearly taken to St. Mungo’s, and while the boys were punished harshly, they were not expelled, much to Mary’s dismay. Later on that year, Lily’s friend Severus Snape, who callously called Mulciber and Avery’s attack as a “laugh”, ended up calling Lily a Mudblood, breaking their friendship forever. When Severus took to haunting Gryffindor Tower to try and talk to Lily, Mary took a small bit of pity on the boy and let Lily know that Severus was there, though their friendship was never saved.
After graduation, Mary joined the Order of the Phoenix, head by Albus Dumbledore. While she was a bit inept with dueling magic, she was small and quiet enough to be unnoticeable, making her a decent spy whilst in crowds to keep an eye on things. For a while, Mary thought she was making a difference; she even attended the wedding of Lily and James, as well as the birth of their son Harry, of whom she held great affection for.
Unfortunately, the War took it’s toll; many of her friends died, including the Potters, while Harry was spirited away and vanished into the Muggle world. Sirius was accused of being a traitor, and Remus didn’t want company, leaving Mary to struggle in the aftermath alone; during her period of grief, she ended up meeting Reginald Cattermole, a clumsy, scatterbrained but exceptionally kind pureblood wizard. The two of them fell in love whilst working in the Ministry of Magic, and after a while, when she felt ready, they started their family together, having two daughters and one son.
But then the War started anew; Lord Voldemort returned from the dead, Death eaters were running rampant all through Britain, Scotland and Ireland. When the Muggleborn Registration Committee was born, Mary knew it was only a matter of time, and she and Reg started to plan for their escape. Neither of them realized that Mary would be called by the Committee so quickly after it was formed, and she had no choice but to arrive in court, hoping against hope...
Harry Potter saved her. Mary didn’t even have a chance to properly thank the boy who looked so much like James with Lily’s fiery green eyes; as soon as she and Reg were in the clear, they rushed home, grabbed their children and fled to America for asylum, where they lived under the protection of MACUSA until the War finally ended for good.
