Thinking about how Charlotte Emily most likely regularly hung out with the Aftons.
William comes downstairs at 9 in the morning to see Charlie and Elizabeth with empty teacups and a teapot, and is just like, ah. Of course. Little girls love tea parties, but indulges them anyway like "what are you two up to?" Elizabeth immediately lights up. "Charlie said that we should play British People 'cause we're British!" William, now a bit more confused, "...ah. I see." Elizabeth, "oh won't you join us? Pretty please?" Charlie then pipes in that she had also asked Mike, but that he had very unfortunately said no, because "Liz plays too mean." Elizabeth, "I do not, you're just too scared to lose!" Michael, "I can't fucking lose at 'British People.'"
Charlie and Elizabeth do atrocious things to their dolls. Drama. Tragedy. They always clash on the endings though, as Charlie wants their dolls fo have a happy end while Elizabeth wants their dolls to have an even worse end
Michael doesn't know Charlie's staying over, and brings home his schoolmates one day. William Frowns TM like "I tried to tell you Henry was dropping off Charlotte today, but you were already halfway out the door." Michael later re-enters the room to find his schoolmates picking on Charlie and pulling at her hair. The closest Michael ever feels to peace is when he's with the Emilys, so he immediately spirals at the sight like, "oh god, if Uncle Henry finds out I brought people over who hurt his daughter, he might not bring her over anymore. What do I do then? What do I do if he stops liking me?" He quickly shoos off his friends, going "dude! She's a guest, leave her be" while Charlie recovers. Before he too can follow after them, Charlie asks Michael if he'll draw with her. He hesitates. The Emilys are the closest he ever gets to peace, so he agrees and sits down to draw. "What are you drawing, Char?" "Marionette!" "'S that the creepy thing that's always watching the guests come and go at Freddy's?" "He's not creepy, he's my friend. Dad made him for me :(" "ahh. You know, my father's been building something for Liz too." "You think that it'll protect her like Marionette protects me?" "Maybe."
Charlie notices how anxious CC always seems to be, and declares one day that she'll keep him safe. She makes him a drawing of them both holding hands, and gives it to him so that he may always look upon it and know that Charlie's rooting for him. He nearly bursts into tears at the kind gesture. The whole household tries to be nicer to each other whenever Charlie's around, but CC tells her about Michael's behaviour to him. Knowing how weak Michael is to her, Charlie gives Michael a look while he's grabbing cereal the next morning like "you should be nicer to your brother. He's just a little kid." Michael immediately pauses, then awkwardly closes the cupboard like "ummm. Okay." Not wanting to use Charlie as a means to make fun of CC, he just never brings the interaction up afterwards
The Emily and Afton families joining together are constantly filled with different forms of jealousy from the Aftons. William, he's jealous of Henry. Michael, he's jealous of Charlie's positive relationship with her father. CC, he's jealous of how Michael seems to like Charlie so much more than him. Elizabeth doesn't even notice her own jealousy, but deep down, Charlie's completely peaceful household... confuses her. She rationalizes the lack of favouritism or hostility as it only stemming from Charlie being an only child, rather than Henry's good parenting. Being so young as well as being the perfect golden child, Elizabeth doesn't know how to express doubt in her father. Clearly, it must be her siblings doing something wrong if Charlie and Uncle Henry are doing so well on their own!
After CC's death, the house is filled with an unbreakable tension. It's grief. It's guilt. Michael and his schoolmates completely cut ties after what happened. And as always, the Emilys feel so separate from the tension of his own home. Michael starts talking to Charlie more frequently, more often at Henry's house rather than his own. He tries not to, or at least usually tries to hide first, but he accidentally has a complete breakdown in the living room one time. Charlie hums a soothing lullaby to him until Henry eventually comes back, notices the state Michael's in, and takes over calming him down while sending Charlie off to do some other seemingly helpful task. After Elizabeth's death, Michael only really has the Emilys left. Charlie stops just being his source of peace, and becomes his best friend. His only friend. Then after Charlie's death...
It's rather lonely all of a sudden.
Later, years later, when Michael's flesh is rotting on his bones and everything is just about to finally be done with, he sits down on the edge of a cheap creaky stage he bought, and lightly knocks his knuckles against Lefty's calf. "Charlie? Can you hear me alright? It's Michael ... I'm sorry. I know I never acted like it, but... for what it's worth... you were my best friend back then. ...Whatever's beyond this, would you like to be friends again there too?"

omg.. i need a pt 2 to the seeing you for the first time :") it was so well written!! maybe something where he keeps staring at her and not doing well to adapt until his parents scold him?? if ur too busy then no need obv, but yeah i like ut writing alot !! đ«¶đ«¶
Neteyam Is Struggling In Learning The Metkayina Ways, So You Give Him Some Encouragement (SFW)
Part 2 of "Head Over Heels"
CW: simp Neteyam, touchy reader, Lo'ak and Kiri duo, annoyed Aoânung, reader is lowkey kinda crazy lol ( but in a good way i swear ), i headcannon that the Sully kids use beads as a barter system of some sort, and the person with the most beads has the most bragging rights, which is why Loâak and Neteyam have so many in their hair ( they bet a lot), Kiri has a few, and Tuk has next to none ( she doesnât really understand it, but still attempts to )
âNeteyam, how many times have I told you? You must breathe from here, not here,â you playfully scolded, placing your hand on his chest and stomach to show how he was doing it wrong.
Neteyamâs breath hitched, already feeling his heart rate pick up.
Shit.
You moved you hand from on top of his lungs, to on top of his heart, and sighed.
It was practically going a mile a minute, like every other time you had checked these past two weeks.
âAnd your heartbeat. You must calm down, Neteyam. Allow your mind to go blank, and your heart rate to slow.â
It had been the same shtick since the boy got here.
All of the other Sullys had taken to their lessons swimmingly, now able to keep up with Aoânung and Tsireya.
But Neteyam was the only one that couldnât quite get the breathing right.
When Aoânung taught him how to ride an ilu, he got it almost immediately. It only took him two tries.
When Rotxo taught him some basic sign language, he got each gesture the moment it was shown to him.
So why was he having so much trouble when you showed him some simple breathing techniques?
Little did you know, the boy could to do the breathing perfectly fine.
Practicing in his free time, he had managed to get it on his own.
But in order to graduate from his lessons, he had to keep up the technique for 5 minutes, with you checking to make sure he maintained the proper form.
And that was the root of the problem.
In order to check, you had to touch him, feel up on his chest.
And that always sent his heart into a frenzy, making all memory of the technique go out the window.
You were just so...you.
Every time you got anywhere near him, everything about you would flood his senses.
Your smell, your voice, hell, just your aura in general.Â
It would all cloud his mind, and leave him unable to think about anything else.
It was overwhelming, and made it so he couldnât be anywhere near you unless he wanted to become a stuttering idiot.
Which was, obviously, impossible to avoid during your lessons.
How does Dad do this everyday?
Who knew having an angel could be so frustrating.
âHere,â you started, snapping him out of his thoughts. âI think I have one more way to help you get it.â
He watched you, intently, as you tied a large rock to a really long stalk of kelp, then tied it to your ankle.
Once it was secure, you gave him a warm smile, which practically turned him to putty.
Fuck.
âSee you later,â you winked, pushing the rock in the water and jumping in after it.
Neteyam stared, confused, as he watched you sink.
What is she doing?
2 minutes go by.
Is this normal?
4 minutes go by.
Okay, somethingâs up.
5 minutes go by.
Thatâs it.
Neteyam quickly dove into the water, frantically looking around to find any sign of you.
When he couldnât see anything, he swam deeper, turning at a large coral reef.
There was no way you couldâve disappeared. So why couldnât he find you?
It was scaring him.
What if you drowned? What if you were attacked by a predator? What if you had been swept away by the current?
These thoughts only fueled him more. And when he made it past this giant school of fish, he saw you.
The fish had been obstructing his vision at first, but he could now see that you were floating in the water, limply, as the rock from before kept you tethered to the ground.
Without hesitation, he swam towards you, whipping out his knife and cutting off the kelp stalk, before taking you in his arms, dragging you up.
He could feel himself slowly running out of air, but he had to stay strong. He couldnât let you drown, not like this.
Not when he couldâve saved you sooner.
âSure, men can have angels. But only real men can protect them,â his fatherâs words repeated in his head, keeping him going.
He was a real man.
And he was going to be his angelâs protector.
When the two of you broke the surface, he let out a loud gasp, flopping the both of you back onto the rock, panting.
When he turned to you, you were unconscious, laying still on the stone.
â(y/n)! (y/n), are you alright?!â Neteyam frantically asked, trying to shake you awake, pressing on your chest a few times.
That seemed to do the trick because you gasped, coughing up a little bit of water as your eyes snapped open.
âFor Eywaâs sake! You surely took your time,â you breathlessly laughed, looking up at the boy with a smile.
âI-...wait....YOU DID THAT ON PURPOSE?!â he exclaimed, shocked.
He was absolutely befuddled. You scared him half to death, and you did it on purpose?
âIâm sorry I tricked you. But that was the only way I could see the breathing get through your thick skull,â you apologized, giving him a little flick in his temple, making his nose twitch.
It made your smile grow.
He looked cute when he was shocked.
Without warning, he pulled you into a bone crushing hug, burying his face in the crook of your neck.
âPlease donât scare me like that ever again,â he asked, his voice quiet and slightly broken.
It made you blush, and your heart wrench, at the same time.
You hadnât thought he cared for you that much. Not to the point where he sounded like he was on the verge of tears at your death.
It made you guilty for pulling such a cruel stunt.
But it also made you feel loved, loved in a way you had never felt love before.
âI am really sorry, Neteyam,â you apologized once more, your joking tone gone.
You wrapped your arms around his neck as he backed out the hug, keeping him close.
He expression turned confused, and you gave him a chaste kiss as an answer, making his eyes blow wide.
This was really happening. You were really holding him. You were really kissing him.
Eywa, please donât let this be a dream.
You kept it short and sweet, long enough to let him feel your emotion, but short enough to make him want more.
When you pulled away, his lips chased you a little bit, mindlessly, and you giggled.
âLetâs take it slow, forest boy,â you smiled, placing a hand on his lips.
He nodded frantically, like a child being promised candy, and it made you burst into full laughter.
This boy made you feel happier than you had in a long time.
âCâmon, letâs go for a swim,â you suggested, moving your hand from his mouth and nodding towards the water.
âIâm in,â he smiled, staring at you with an enamored glint in his eye.
Thatâs when you remembered.
âHey, if it makes you feel any better,â you started with a smirk, turning to him and resting your hands on his chest.
His breath hitched, and his heart picked up speed yet again.
You leaned into his ear, dropping your voice to a whisper.
âYou passed.â
The way you said the words made a shiver go down his spine, and a warmth spread through his body, itâs origins being your hands.
You pulled back, flashing him an innocent smile as if what you did was the most natural thing in the world.
But he knew better.
You knew exactly what you were doing to him, hiding it behind that beautiful smile and those gorgeous eyes.
Little did you know that that was making you all the more enticing.
Who knew his angel could be such a little troublemaker?
bonus !!
Loâak, Kiri, Tuk, and Aoânung watched you kiss Neteyam in the distance, their ilu lessons being put on hold for the spectacle.
âLook at my bro. Itâs only two weeks and heâs getting some tail in,â Loâak smirked, setting a reminder in his head to congratulate his brother the next time he saw him.Â
âYou better tell him to keep his hands to himself,â Aoânung grumbled, turning to Kiri.
He did not find the situation as amusing as Loâak.
âTell her that,â Kiri playfully scoffed, watching you move your hands down to his chest.
âAre Neteyam and (y/n) mates now?â Tuk asked, tugging on Loâakâs arm.
âNo. But itâs only a matter of time,â he shrugged, ruffling her hair.
âHey!â Aoânung exclaimed, shooting the boy a sharp glare.
âIâm betting a week,â Kiri smirked, crossing her arms as she turned to her brother, holding up a satchel of beads.
âIâll take action,â he smirked back, holding up his own.
âI hate you all,â Aoânung groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose.
But in all honesty, knowing his sister, he gave it a few days.

The birthday gift Robin gets from her parents is that theyâre gonna help her fund a three month solo trip to Paris. Steve thinks she should be delivering this news with much more excitement than she currently is.
âOkay, but youâre going, right?â he says, as she bites her nails for the third time. When she doesnât reply, he lifts his eyes to the heavens, despairing. âOh my god, are you kidding? Robin, youâve wanted this forââ
âYears,â she confirms, so quietly. âI wantââ She swallows. âI want it so badly, Steve.â
He pauses, drops their usual teasing schtick. âOkay,â he says, a little softer. âWhatâs going on?â
âItâs justâŠâ She moves her hand away from her mouth, tugs on a hangnail. âWhat ifâwhat if something⊠happens. And Iâm notâŠâ She gestures vaguely. âNot here.â
Steve slings an arm over her shoulder. âRob,â he says, ânothingâs gonna happen.â
Robin nods. âI know, I know.â
But then she sighs, and Steve understands: itâs one thing to know something objectively, another thing to feel the certainty in your bones.
He has a wave of gratitude for Robinâs parents, for them knowing that she needs this, for letting her have a year out, maybe even two, without judgement. Itâs something they all need, really, in different ways: some time to let the weight of everything settle, to catch their breath.
Steveâs honestly been relishing the mundanity of it all, the comfort of routineâeasy days where the biggest âdisasterâ is him being late for their opening shift at Family Video.
âKeithâs keeping your job open for you, right?â Steve asks, just in case thatâs a sticking point.
Robin nods again, laughing. âYeah, mom arranged that all before she even booked the flights. Well, I think she just basically told him thatââ
âSo itâs gonna be a super long vacation.â Steve gives her knee a reassuring little shake, before tickling the back of it. âJesus, Robin, if you donât go, Iâll go for you.â
Robin snorts and wiggles out of his grip. âShut up.â
âAnd Iâll speak French so badly that Iâll just get banned for life, like, right outta the gate, itâll be tragicââ
âIâve got the picture, dingus,â she says, and sheâs smilingâfinally, finally thereâs a spark of excitement in her eyes.
And that excitement only grows as her flight date gets closer, as she calls Steve the week before, begging him to be the one to take her to the airport, because, âMy dad took one look at my suitcase and burst into tears, please Steve, the man canât do this.â
And then Steveâs pulling up to her driveway, and sheâs already waiting for him, perched on her suitcase. Sheâs wearing a cobalt blue beret, and Steve loves her so much he thinks his heart might burst with it.
For a while, itâs all grins and laughter, Steve giggling every time he edges out of the driveway, and Robinâs mom stops him, frantically waving, asking if Robinâs got everything, did you pack that other coat, honey?
Then it feels like time rushes forwardâtheyâre at the airport, and Steve gets out of the car to fetch Robinâs case from the trunk, but sheâs already got it, is already standing in the parking lot, eyes wide.
âWhatâs gonna happen now?â she whispers.
Steveâs heart clenches; the last time sheâd asked that had been as they sped to the hospital, Robin gripping his hand so tightly as Eddie lay unconscious.
Steve puts both hands on her shoulders. âYouâre gonna have the best time,â he says, deadly serious, âand then youâre gonna come back and tell me all about it.â
She laughs, right on the edge of becoming tearful. âO-okay.â She blinks several times.
âDonât,â Steve says, faux-warningly, âor youâll set me off, too.â
And itâs only partly a joke.
âOkay,â Robin says again, and then sheâs hugging Steve tight, pressing a damp kiss to his cheek. âIâll miss you.â
âGod, me too. Every day.â Steve rocks her back and forth, makes sure her beret doesnât get dislodged with the force of the hug.
When they break apart, Robin picks up her caseâshe pauses, then grins.
âNow, if youâll just point me in the right directionâŠâ
Steve chuckles. He spins her around so sheâs facing the airport, then pats her on the back.
She starts walking.
Steve stays right where he is; he knows sheâll look back right at the last secondâah, there she goes. He shakes his head, laughs. Waves.
He drives back alone.
When he gets home, he barely has time to even think about it, because the kids have biked over after school, clamouring for him to order pizza from the moment he opens the front door, and Eddieâs shrugging apologetically with a grin, and itâs only later that Steve realises that the whole thing was probably coordinated beforehand.
And heâs fine, really, heâs absolutely fine until he steps into the hall to use the phone, and he unthinkingly orders the pizza him and Robin usually share: one half with pepperoni, the other half with mushrooms.
And then he has to finish the rest of the phone call with a lump in his throat, and when he hangs up, Eddie is watching him with a sad kind of smile.
âOh, sweetheart.â
âDonât. Donât be nice to me, goddamn it.â Steve shuts his eyes. âI was fine, I was fine.â
âHey, itâs okay.â Eddie knocks their foreheads together gently. âIâll miss her, too.â
And God, missing Robin does hurt, but itâs nothing compared to the joy Steve feels whenever he receives a letter from her. He laughs himself stupid the first time, because instead of just using sheets of paper, sheâs sent multiple postcards wrapped in an elastic band, her handwriting all squished so she can fit everything in.
She writes like she talks, all rambling enthusiasm, and Steve cherishes every word.
He can tell sheâs having so much fun. She enthuses about little cafĂ©s sheâs found, a bookstore near Notre Dame; she spends multiple pages on art galleries, how she has the time to wander, to look at a painting again and again until the meaning reveals itself, it was like when I solved that âcrosswordâ in the mall, it suddenly just clicked, you know? I need you here next time, youâll look at it from another angle, I wanna know what you think.
She sends Polaroids, too. Thereâs one of her in a white shirt with a trilby hat at a jaunty angleâSteve can tell sheâs been in the sun, because thereâs freckles all over the bridge of her nose. On the back of the photograph, sheâs written Had a carefree kiss!
And Steve cries when he reads it, because he knows what it means: that Robinâs often spoken wistfully about how sheâs never got to have that fleeting summer kind of love, where nothing is all that serious.
But sheâs still so young, and life is finally light, and she gets to have it now.
Other photographs are sent to Eddie, with instructions that he should translate the French Robinâs written on them, Ă force de pratique, on y arrive, mon cher Ădouard!
âI said literally once that French at school wasnât, like, the worst,â Eddie says, pouting. âDidnât realise that meant she was gonna torture me from across the world.â He frowns at a picture of Robin petting a grey cat, a bowl of food at its little paws. âAnd I tried translating whatever the fuck sheâs written here, but I canât work it out.â
âNot even a guess?â Steve says.
âI mean, yeah, but it sounds so stilted, man, I know itâs wrong. Like, who actually says where the silver cat feedsâyou dick, stop laughing! Whatâs so funny?â
Two months pass, and Robinâs back soon, but not soon enough to catch Steveâs birthday. Itâs not like he wants to have a huge party, anywayâhe goes to Wayne and Eddieâs for dinner, and discovers Dustin leading a not-so successful âsecretly bake a birthday cake,â meeting at Maxâs.
Everyoneâs on their second slice of cake when the phone rings, and Steve knows instantly who it is from the way Eddie shouts, âHuh? What?â, like thereâs a delay on the line. Then he beams and shouts, âSteve! Got a long distance call for you.â
Steveâs over in a flash.
âI promise Iâve got you something,â Robin says, slightly muffledâevery so often a word will cut out, but Steve gets the gist. âI swear, Iâm not awful, I was gonna post it, but then I had no idea how many stamps Iâd need, and I didnât wanna risk losing it forever to, like, the nightmare limbo of customs, so I thought when I come back, I canââ
âOh my god, shut up,â Steve laughs, âyou didnât need to get me anything. This is the best present ever.â
âOh, gross,â Robin says cheerfully. âYouâre all sentimental in your old age. Happy Birthday, Steve.â
âThanks,â Steve says, and the lump in his throat is back, but itâs not so bad; he can breathe through it. âI love you.â
âI love you, too.â
And then thereâs a sound that Steve at first thinks is just from the bad quality of the line, but then he realises itâs Robin trying to stifle a yawn; âWait, Jesus, isnât it, like, two in the morning over there? Go to bed!â
She doesnât listen, of courseâthey keep chatting, everyone in the room wants a turn on the phone, Robin teasing Eddie relentlessly for his French pronunciation.
And as Steve ends the call, he finds that the hurt of missing her has faded away into something elseâknowing that thereâll be comings and goings in their lives all the time, adventures theyâll share and adventures they wonât. But theyâll always, always find their way back to one another.
Steve sets the phone into its cradle, pictures Robin doing the very same so many miles away.
Yeah, weâre gonna be just fine, you and me, Steve thinks, and feels the certainty of it right in his bones.

The Oxygen Breathers: With one hand tied behind my back!
The human sat on the bench in the common area for at least one of their hours before the children worked up the courage to approach.
"You're a human right?" One of the children - an Innari - said as they approached the human. They were taller than the human, and seemed to have barely any bones. They moved and undulated like an octopus that was used to being out of the water.
The human's helmet flashed an cartoon icon of its face and smiled - without their teeth - broadly. "That's right! My name is Harold, but everyone calls me Harry. What's your name?"
"I'm Opian, this is Downward Draft, and standing in the back is Vizxxian." They gestured with their tentacle-like appendage. It had manipulators on the end which could be seen a little like fingers. Good for fine detail work.
Harry put up his gauntleted hand and spread his fingers. A wave. "It's a pleasure to meet you all. What can I help with?"
"Downward Draft says humans are the strongest of the Coalition peoples. Is that true?"
Harry sat up slightly. His icon continued to speak while he did. "Well, I don't rightly know if that's true, Downward Draft. I haven't met everyone. Of the ones I did meet, I have a hunch I might be stronger, but you also have to remember, we come from a heavier world than most of the other Coalition species. Earth's gravitational pull is half again what it is here on this station.
There were gasps and noises of surprises from the kids. "That's so heavy!" Downward Draft rustled their feathers they caught the light and sparkled. "This station is already heavy for us; our homeworld's gravity is even less. I bet I couldn't' even walk on your planet!"
Harry's icon nodded. "You might be right, Downward Draft. But, gravity aside, it's nice here. I like the colors you use to decorate, and I like your plants. Everything back home is just different shades of green."
Vizxxian was working themselves up for something. Harry peered over Opian's head. "How about you? Do you have a question?"
Viz's eye slits squeezed shut and they blurted out "My parent says you're all a bunch of 'rock throwers' and that we should have never let you into the Coalition. They say that outside of your suits and ships, you're not so tough."
Downward Draft nudged Viz. "Don't be mean Viz! Harry is a guest here. You know how to treat guests."
Harry chuckled. "It's all right Downward Draft. We learn things from our parents. Part of growing up is trying to figure out what is true and what isn't. Now, I'm not mad, but you know that 'rock throwers' is a slur, and not a nice thing to say, right?"
Viz's ears wiggled in assent. "Yes, but that's the word father used. I know it's a bad word though."
Harry nodded. "Context is important though. I could say 'I picked up this rock and threw it' and that's not a slur, but if I said 'those rock throwers always go back on their deals' that is a slur. It's all right though, I'm not angry." Harry's helmet cleared. The kids looked across as his face became visible for the first time. Opian's eyes dilated in surprise. "So your dad thinks that we're not so tough outside of our suits? How about we place a little wager? I'll get out of my suit, and if any of you can touch my arm, I'll buy you a snack."
Opian shrinked back. Downward Draft raised their feathered arms in a gesture of dismissial. "You can't breath the atmostphere here! You'll die!"
Harry put up a hand. "It'll be all right. I'll wear a breathing mask, and the pressure and atmosphere difference won't hurt me for the time I'll be out of the suit."
"Oh we couldn't-"
"I'll do it!" Opian and Downward Draft turned in shock to Viz. They had stood to their full height, just a little taller than Harry and bent their legs just a little. "I can touch your arm."
Harry grinned. "Good. Let's see." Harry stood up, and touched the pad on his suit's arm. There was orange light that illuminated his face and he frowned and pressed more buttons on his suit. After a moment, it turned green, and lines appeared all over the suit. Joints. With a hiss of pressure and a whine of servos, his suit unfolded like a flower, and Harry stepped out.
He was much shorter than the kids. Just two meters tall if that. On the top of his head was a dark fur that was closely cropped, and he had fur all over the lower part of his face that was the same color. Under the outer, armored suit he wore a tight body suit that connected to the outer suit with thin wires. Harry reached down and unplugged them and they slid up into the suit he was wearing and disappeared. Opian was impressed. Their suits seemed to be far more advanced than ones of Innari make.
"There." Harry's voice was much lower than his translator made it sound. Maybe it was the difference in breathing gas? It was also a little muffled by his mask. "Okay Viz. Whenever you're ready."
Opian and Draft stood back and watched. Viz stood stock still and seemed like they were trying to decide what to do. Suddenly, Viz howled and ran towards Harry. Their long legs consumed the distance between them relentlessly. At the last half meter, Viz spun and in one fluid motion bend down and lashed out with one of their legs. Opian gasped. He was attacking Harry! That's a lethal kick if it connects.
Before Opian could react any further, Harry... wasn't were he was before. He was standing a meter to the side, and Viz was flying backwards into the bench. Viz jumped up, and roared again. This was a roar of frustration as well as a battle cry, and charged Harry. Once again, Harry stood there watching, and as Viz turned to kick him, he wasn't were Viz expected, and they went skittering across the smooth floor.
Harry stood with his hands on his hips. His eyes flicked to Opian and Draft. "Remember, strength isn't everything. Know your opponent. Know how they attack, watch for signs, paying attention and then you can move out of the way and dodge." Harry was grinning and put his hand out and curled his fingers towards himself. "Come on, Opian, Downward Draft, you try too!"
Downward Draft bent low and leapt towards Harry, using their legs to absorb as much potential energy as possible, releasing it as they sprung towards him with arms outstretched. Quicker than Opian could follow, Harry ducked underneath the Avar, and Draft sailed harmlessly overhead.
Harry, looked at Opian and raised one of the small lines of hair above his eyes. "What about you, Opian? Give it a try?"
"No, thank you Harry. I concede. There's no way I could touch you."
Harry's nodded. "That's all right. Mayb-"
Harry looked over and Downward Draft was standing mere centimeters away, with his arm out, and the barest edge of one of his iridescent feathers brushed against Harry's arm.
"Got you." Draft whispered.
Harry tipped his head back and laughed. The kids all took a step back in fear. "No, no, it's all right. that's a fair touch. You win, Downward Draft. I'll buy you snacks. Just let me get back into my suit. My skin is starting to itch."
It only took a moment for Harry's suit to climb onto him and fit around him as he stood there. "I have to say Downward Draft, you can move quietly."
They ruffled their feathers in pride. "Thank you Harry. On my world, moving without noise is a prized skill."
Harry darkened his helmet and his icon re-appeared. "Harry?"
He turned, "Yes, Viz?"
"You don't have to darken your helmet. We don't think you're scary anymore."
Harry's helmet cleared. He smiled without showing his teeth. "I'm glad to hear that Vizxxian. I'm glad to hear that."

Wine, Pizza and Never Have I Ever
Unexpected Love Masterlist
Summary: Harry and YNâs second date.
It had been two weeks since their first date. Harry had been busy in the studio and YN had been busy with Jacob and in the florist. But despite their busy lives, they had been texting back and forth every moment they could, and on some evenings talking over the phone.Â
As Jacob was staying at his dadâs that evening, YN and Harry had arranged to see each other again. Due to Jacob being picked up at 6:30pm, YN asked if Harry was happy to have dinner at her place instead.Â
The sound of the door knocking alerted YN that Jack was here. Opening the door, they smiled at eachother and YN invited Jack in. âJacobâŠDaddyâs here!â.Â
âWhat are your plans for the weekend? Zara mentioned you were thinking of taking the kids to the beachâ. YN asked Jack as they waited for Jacob. Zara is Jackâs fiancĂ©e and they have a little boy, Theo who is nearly two.Â
Jack shrugged his shoulders at the question. âWeâre going to let Jakey decide in the morningâ. He looked at YN with a suspicious grin. âYouâre dressed nice for someone who likes to be in her pyjamas by sevenâ.Â
âI fancied a changeâŠis that okay?â. YN laughed knowing how right Jack was. Usually by now she would be in her unmatching pyjama with a messy bun.Â
Jack continued to stare, until he cracked. âYouâve got a date, havenât you?â. The big smile on his face was genuine. Heâd waited a long time for YN to finally give in and give someone a chance. âWho is he? Do I know him?â.
âShut up Jack!â. YN could feel the pinkness rush up her neck and land on her cheeks. âItâs just a second dateâ.Â
âSecond? Second date?â. He continued to question. âYou owe me and Zara all the detailsâŠoh wait until I tell her!â.Â
âItâs still early days, but I like himâ. YN admitted as they still stood in the hallway. âWhy are you smiling like that?â.
ââCause Iâve waited for this day forever and I want you to be happyâ. Jack couldnât hide his excitement.Â
âDaddy!â. Jacob ran his little legs into his father who scooped him up into his arms. âMissed youâ.Â
âIâve missed you too bud!â. He kissed his cheek in affection. âGive Mummy a kiss and cuddle and letâs go have funâ.
YN cuddled Jacob tightly as she already missed him before he had left. âI love you to the moon and back againâ.Â
âI love you too Mummyâ. His sweet voice whispered into her shoulder.Â
âGo and have fun with Daddy and give Zara and Theo a big cuddle from me okay?â. YN watched as Jacob held Jackâs hand, ready to leave for the weekend.Â
âYou have fun too yeah?â. Jack wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, causing YN to roll her eyes. âRemember we want to know all the detailsâ.Â
âI love you JacobâŠgoodbye Jack!â YN put emphasis on the last part as she chuckled to herself.Â
---
Harry arrived just after 7pm and YN couldnât  believe how someone managed to look so good in an outfit so effortless.Â
âHi.â YN greeted him and gestured for him to come in before closing the door behind him.Â
âHiâ. Harry let out a shy giggle at the sight of seeing YN again. He leaned in gently gave her hug and a peck on the cheek. âYou look beautifulâ.
âThank youâ. YN blushed at both the peck and compliment. âCome throughâ. Harry followed YN through another door before they entered what he knew was the lounge area. âI hope you didnât mind coming here tonightâŠI just thought it was easier with Jacob being pick-â.Â
âYNâ Harry interrupted with a smile. âItâs fineâŠI promiseâ. Harry took a seat next to her on the sofa. âHere Iâve got us a bottle of wineâ.Â
âOh something old and red.â YN rose from her seat as she looked at the bottle. âIâll go and get some glasses for usâ. She walked to the kitchen. She felt like she needed to keep herself busy, to ease the nerves.Â
âYou know your wineâ. Harry showed his dimples as he fidgeted in his seat. He watched as YN walked through to what he assumed was the kitchen.Â
He looked around trying to learn more about YN, when he saw a photo on the sideboard he went for a closer look. Harry pointed YN out straight away as she smiled loudly for the camera. She held a little boy in her arms, who he naturally thought was Jacob. But he wondered who the other people in the photo were.Â
âIâve got two glasses and some nibbles for usâ YN disturbed Harryâs as she placed the glasses and some bowls with snacks in on the coffee table in front of the sofa.Â
âUh sorryâŠI was being a bit noseyâ. Harry got himself into a fluster, as he placed the photo frame back in its original place.Â
YN shook her head as Harry sat back down next to her, taking a sip of his glass. âYou can look, itâs fineâ. YN took a sip from her own glass.Â
âIs the little boy youâre holding, Jacob?â. Harry couldnât help but ask, he knew it was because he could see they had the same eyes that crinkled when they smile.Â
YN glanced over at the photo. âYeah itâs Jacobâ. She smiled at Harry. âThe man and woman is actually Jacobâs Dad and his fiancĂ©e and their little boy, Theoâ.Â
YN tried to read Harryâs reaction, but for once she couldnât.  âItâs a lovely photoâ. He complimented.Â
âI know it probably seems strangeâŠme having the photo but-â. YN began to justify herself, feeling her throat close a bit with nerves. Her voice wobbled a bit has she began to defend herself.Â
âHeyâ Harryâs voice was gentle as he reached over and touched her hand. âItâs okayâŠyou donât need to explain yourself to meâŠmy first thought was thatâs how blended families should beâ.Â
âMâsorryâŠitâs just people have told me itâs strange that Jack and I still get onâŠand that me and Zara are friendsâ. YN explained as she looked down at Harryâs hand that was still on hers.Â
âDo you want to know what I think?â. YN nodded. âI think you need to stop believing what other people think, and actually be proud of yourself for putting Jacob first and being able to co-parentâ.Â
YN smiled at his words because she knew he was right, she cared too much about what others thought. âOkayâŠwhen do I start to see your flaws?â. She joked as she nudged his shoulder playfully.
Harry let out a laugh, his smile wide and his eyes crinkled. âWhat do you mean?â.Â
âYou just seem to perfect for meâŠme being a Mum doesnât bother youâŠme getting on with my ex and his partner is fine tooâŠyou just seem too good to be trueâ. Harry laughed at YNâs teasing, rubbing his finger under his nose as he did.Â
Harry shrugged his shoulders. âIâd like to think Iâm quite humbleâŠI mean my Mum was a single Mum when I was growing up and we would see my Dad on the weekendâŠso I think I just get itâ:Â
âWell tell your Mum she raised a one of kindâ. Harry took YNâs compliment because he knew his Mum was the kindest woman he knew.
âShall I order us pizza?â.Â
---
It was later in the evening and YN and Harry were both a couple of glasses in, and full from sharing a large pizza. The effect of the wine was starting to show as they both became extra giggly and Harryâs hand now rested on YNâs knee as they both leaned towards each other.Â
âOkayâŠnever have I ever gone skinny-dipping?â YN asked and they both took a sip from their glass. âSpill!â.
Harry let out a chuckle at YN wanting to know details. âUhâŠI was on tour with the bandâŠand one night me and a few of the boys thought it would be funny to sneak down to the pool, and go skinny dippingâ.Â
âDid you get caught?â. YN asked as she leaned her head on her hand against the top of the sofa.Â
âOnly by our securityâŠbut they just laughed at us and told us to go back to our roomsâ. Harry recited the memory. âWhat about you?â.Â
âIt was when I was in uniâŠwe went on a trip to the beach and we were playing a gameâŠand our team lost and that was the consequenceâŠquite boring actuallyâ. YN laughed at how plain her story sounded.Â
âNext oneâŠnever have I everâŠbeen walked in on whilst having sexâ. Harry asked but his drink stayed in place. But YN brought hers up to her lips to take a sip. âReally?â.Â
âYesâŠit was so embarrassing!â. YN shivered at the memory of Jackâs older brother walking in at an awkward time. âMoving onâŠnever have I ever joined the mile high clubâ. YN watched as Harry took a drink from his glass, a slight smirk on his face. âI always imagined it would be crampedâ.
âWell I meanâŠdepends on the planeâŠif itâs a private plane then youâve got enough roomâ. They both laughed, the alcohol taking over. âNever have I ever..â Harry thought of another question. âWanted to kiss someone in this roomâ.Â
Harry knew it was a bold move, he knew it could go either way but with the alcohol in his system and how close they were sitting, he took the risk. The way YN stared at him, he thought he may have ruined the moment but as he moved his glass up to his lips, YN mimicked his movement.Â
YN gently took his glass from his hands and placed them both on the table. âMaybe we should do something about thatâ.
Harry was in awe when she made the first move and placed her lips on his. He could taste a mixture of red wine mixed with strawberry lipstick, as their lips moved heavily against the others. Harry pulled her closer so she was straddling him, both looking for closeness.Â
YN moved her hands so they rested just below Harryâs neck. Harryâs one hand found familiarity on her thigh, whilst the other rested against her cheek. Their lips remained eager to get to know the other and their hands wanted to follow suit but nerves still remained present.Â

Jolly Holidays
Dean and Sam Winchester x little sister!reader
Requested by anonymous
Synopsis: Reader likes to celebrate every holiday, no matter how small
âWhereâd you get that?â Sam asked, trying desperately to put on a stern face, but unable to hide his smile when you placed the birthday cake on the table.
âThe store,â you said innocently.
âAnd how did you pay for it?â Sam asked, but just then he noticed the lettering on the cake. âHappy BirthdayâŠSamantha?â
You winced. âOk, so maybe it wasnât exactly meant for me, but it was just so close to your name that I couldnât pass up the opportunity.â
âAnd Samantha?â Sam asked.
You shrugged, âShouldâve picked up her cake on time.â
Sam rolled his eyes, but he was smiling. He leaned over and hugged you.
âThank you,â he said quietly.
You grinned.
âHappy Birthday, Sammy.â
âŠ
âWe need this.â
Dean just stared at you, not moving to put the item in his basket.
âWhy?â
âBecause itâs Thanksgiving,â you scoffed, reaching around Deanâs arm and dropping the small plastic container in his basket. âSo we need turkey.â
âThatâs Deli meat, it barely qualifies.â
âItâs not like weâre ever gonna get one of those,â you gestured to a display of large frozen turkeys. âSo thisâll have to do.â
âWhat are we arguing about over here?â Sam stuck his head in between two aisles to join the conversation.
âThanksgiving dinner,â you told him. He stared at the items in Deanâs basket.
âDeli meat, licorice, and a six pack of beer?â
âHey, if weâre doing Thanksgiving, then Iâm getting pie,â Dean declared, wandering off to another aisle.
âYouâre never gonna get Thanksgiving to be a big thing, no matter how many years you try,â Sam told you after Dean was gone.
âIt doesnât have to be a big thing,â you assured him. âThis is enough.â
âŠ
âY/N, please go to bed.â
You ignored Samâs request, opting to remain sitting at the motel window, staring out into the night.
âI donât even know if heâs gonna be home tonight, it might be tomorrow.â
âJust let her be,â Dean insisted from his bed. âIf she wants to wait a little longer itâs fine.â
You stayed silent throughout your brotherâs conversation, too intent on your own thoughts. You didnât often wait up for John, mostly because you knew he was usually late. But today, today was different. Today you really wanted him to be on time.
âSweetheart, please-â
âHeâs here!â Your outburst when you saw Johnâs car pull into the motel startled both brothers.
The moment that John stepped into the motel room, he was forced back when you threw yourself into his arms.
âWhoa, hey,â he greeted, confused and more than a little exhausted. âWhy are you still awake?â
âShe insisted on waiting for you,â Sam explained while you stepped away from your dad and ran over to the fridge.
âWhy? Kid, you should be in b-â John cut himself off when you emerged from the small fridge with a sloppily decorated chocolate cake in your hands and a huge grin on your face.
âWhatâs this?â He asked softly.
âHappy birthday,â you sing-songed, placing the cake in the middle of the tiny motel table.
âYou made this?â Johnâs voice was still uncharacteristically quiet.
âYeah,â your grin faltered a little. âWell, mostly, I mean itâs from a box mix, but I figured since this motel has an actual oven thatâŠâ you stopped, suddenly self conscious. âIs this ok? I mean I know you donât really do birthdays but I tho-â
You were cut off when John wrapped you in his arms, and you relaxed in his tight embrace.
He didnât say anything, but he didnât have to.
âHappy birthday, dad.â
âŠ
âOuch! What was that for?â Sam grumbled when you leaned over and pinched his arm.
âWasnât me,â you said innocently. âIt was a leprechaun. They do that when you donât wear green on this sacred day.â
âSacred day? Itâs just Saint Patrickâs Day, no one celebrates that,â Dean insisted. âAnd if you even think about pinching me, Iâm gonna punch you in the face.â
You huffed, leaning back in your seat.
âYou guys are no fun.â
Dean laughed, leaning back in his seat and reaching back to ruffle your hair.
âBetter luck next year, leprechaun.â
âŠ
âIâm telling you, somethingâs wrong.â
âI donât know, Dean. She seems fine.â
âShe didnât even get one of those little plastic candle things for Hanukkah.â
âMaybe because weâre not Jewish,â Sam scoffed.
âThatâs never stopped her before.â
âSo sheâs growing out of the holiday thing, what do you want me to do about it?â Sam asked.
âI donât know, youâre usually the one who wants to talk about feelings,â Dean grumbled. âI figured youâd have an idea.â
âWell, Iâm not even convinced that somethingâs wrong,â Sam argued, but at the look on Deanâs face he began to relent. âDo you really think somethingâs wrong?â
âYeah. I think itâs this search for dad, man. Itâs wearing on her. I wanna do something about it, sheâs been acting weird for a couple of weeks now.â
âI mean, sheâs been quiet, but-â
âLook, Sam, I donât think you get it. You were gone for a while-â Dean held up his hands innocently when Sam opened his mouth to protest. âAnd Iâm not about to argue about that again. Iâm just saying, maybe you donât see it because you havenât spent as much time with her. I just need you to trust me on this, we gotta do something.â
âOk,â Sam sighed. âOk, I have an idea.â
âŠ
âThey didnât have coke so I grabbedâŠâ your voice trailed off as you entered the hotel room. âWhatâs this?â
âChristmas,â Dean grinned at you from under a Santa hat.
âYou guysâŠdecorated for Christmas?â You looked around in awe. âLikeâŠthe two of you? No threats, no gun to your head?â
âWell, you didnât seem in the mood so we did it for you,â Sam explained. âWhat do you think?â
You were silent for several moments while you took it all in; a little plastic tree on the table, a couple of red and green balloons, Sam and Dean wearing matching Santa hats, and even a couple of newspaper-wrapped presents under the tiny tree.
âI think I wanna Santa hat,â your voice came out quietly, almost reverently, like if you spoke too loud you would wake up.
âThey only had two,â Dean said, reaching into his bag, âbut we did get you this!â He pulled out a headband with pointy plastic ears, and a cardboard green elf hat sticking out of the top. You giggled and snatched it from his hand, placing it on your head.
âEven better.â
The three of you spent that night opening gifts and drinking hot chocolate, before ending the night with you falling asleep to Elf.
Dean carried you to bed when the movie was over, setting you on one side while he climbed in on the other, pulling the blankets over the both of you. Sam came over to the bed you and Dean were sharing to give you a good night kiss on the forehead, before he went over to his own bed and quickly fell asleep.
âDean?â You whispered sleepily.
âYeah baby?â
âMerry Christmas.â
Dean grinned, leaning over to press a kiss to your head, and when he laid back down you scooted closer to him, and he wrapped you in his arms.
âMerry Christmas, little sister.â

Growing and Healing
Word Count: 900
Content Warnings: Prison mention, pregnancy discussion, implied smexy, angst.Â
Summary: You and Spencer vow to not have kids until youâre out of the FBI, but after a case of looking after a kid with his wife, things change.Â
Spencer had just spent the last case with you, holding watch at the victimâs family's house for hours on end. He watched his wife play tea-party, dress up, and Just Dance with the familyâs seven year old girl while her mother was stuck in the station and honestly, he just fell deeper for you.Â
You settled into bed your first night back home, pulling the warm covers up to your chin and snuggling into Spencerâs chest. Everything should be perfect except he for some reason laid awake, staring at the ceiling as he ran his fingers through your hair. You picked up on Spencerâs irritation as he didnât reach for a book to distract himself, just glued his eyes to the ceiling.
âWhatâs wrong, baby?â You asked, propping yourself up on Spencerâs chest so that you could look at him.Â
âNothing,â Spencer hesitated. âIâm going to bed.â He suggested, gesturing his hand around to you and him resting in bed together, lights off.Â
Your heart stung a little at his random passive-aggressiveness. âOkay.â You mumbled, sinking back down into his chest. The two of you sat in the haunting quiet until finally he groaned as he pushed his hair back.Â
âFuck.â He mumbled. You listened as his heart sped up beneath you, thumping against yours. âIâm- Iâm just confused.âÂ
You sat up beside him at this, flicking on a dim lamp sitting on your bedside table. âWhatâs confusing you, Spence? We can talk it through.â You offered, biting at your nails slightly. Spencer never got like this and whenever he did, it was usually mom-related.
âI just- just- I know when we got married we agreed on something-â Spencer started.
You finished his sentence like verbatim from your memory, âNo kids unless we stop working for the FBI.â
âYeah,â Spencer looked down as he took your hand in his, squeezing it nervously. âWell I just thought Iâd be able to do that, but watching you play with that girl and bake with her and doing all of it with you itâs just- well itâs just a lot harder than I thought.â Your husband deflated further, frowning as he twisted your wedding ring around your finger.
âI know.â You whispered softly, stopping his finger over your ring then looking up at Spencer. âI know. But itâs selfish, isnât it? I mean- for us to bring someone into the world we live in. And after prison, oh my god, Spencer-â You never said Spencer, only Spence or baby or some pet name. But you were scared half to death at how badly you wanted this and of going against your better instinct.Â
âY/n,â Spencer swiped his thumb over a tear that had fallen down your cheek, unknown to you. âI wonât put myself on the front lines anymore, Iâll let someone else be the bigger person, Iâll never touch dilaudid again and-â
âIâm not worried about you being in the front lines, doing our job how weâre supposed to. Iâm worried about another accident, one of us not coming home one day.â You cried, thinking about how not fun growing up without your dad was.
Spencer didnât say a thing at that, he just let you hit home, wrapping you in his arms and cradling you in his lap. He sat with you until you stopped crying and your breathing regulated. âIâll take the part-time job.â He finally decided, shocking you.Â
âWhat are you talking about?â You sat up, brows furrowed.
âThey offered me a part-time job after prison. Half-time professing in Virginia, half-time working cases.â Spencer explained, running his fingers through your soft hair before leaning in close to you. âI want a family with you a lot more than I want this job. And I donât want either of us breaking a vow just so we can get our cake and eat it too.âÂ
You nodded, holding your face in your hands before gathering yourself. âI want to leave the BAU.â You ripped the band-aid off and let the conversation flow. You told Spencer you were unhappy with all the killing and death. You told him how you felt about everything, leaving him completely shocked that he didnât see through you.
âI didnât know that at all.â He whispered, looking down. You grasped his hand again.
âBecause I didnât want you to yet. And you know what? Having a kid gives me a perfect excuse to grab a job at a bookstore, take it easy for a minute, get a therapist maybe. Make room for a baby Reid.â You smiled softly, Spencer breaking out in a smile too at the thought of a baby Reid, of his own child with you. You made that life sound so good.
âAre you sure?â He looked up at you finally, quivering with something between nerves and excitement. Spencer leaned in to hold your face, waiting for an answer.
âMore than anything.â You whispered, placing a kiss on his nose before Spencer pulled you onto his lap, you giggling. âAh!âÂ
âLetâs get a head start then, shall we?â Spencer asked, cupping your blushing cheeks. He still flattered you daily, even after all this time.
âI think we should.â You whispered into his lips, connecting softly and allowing him to take over, kissing you all over as you smiled widely. You wanted to start the next chapter of your lives as soon as possible.

Could I request âit was love at first sightâ with our boy Jamie â€ïž
baby mine | j. drysdale
you ask for more jamie, your wish is granted!! hereâs something cute that i wrote, enjoy!
You bustled around your house, fixing decorations and pulling balloons behind you. Lila, your daughter, was turning one and you were setting up the party at your house for both yours and Jamieâs families, friends, and teammates.
âJamie, is she dressed?â No sooner did you ask that Jamie and Lila came around the corner to the kitchen. Lila was dressed in an adorable pink little dress and Jamie had on a pink striped t-shirt to match.
âGot her birthday outfit on!â Jamie smiled as Lila clapped her hands and squealed in his arms.
You couldnât help but smile. Even though you still had lots to do, your little family always made you so happy.
You blew a few kisses towards Lila. âThereâs my big girl, my beautiful one year old!â Lila babbled in response. You and Jamie both laughed and shared a kiss. You went to pull away but Jamie wrapped his arm around your waist to keep you close to him.
âThereâs my gorgeous wife,â he whispered in your ear. You felt chills run down your spine from the compliment.
âThereâs my handsome husband,â you giggled. Lila picked up on your sensual moment with Jamie and started to whine in protest. They werenât kidding when they said daughters didnât like when their dads showed anyone attention.
âAnd thereâs our lovely Lila,â Jamie laughed. You couldnât help but take in how much Lila looked like Jamie. Her dark hair contrasted against her big blue eyes and she smiled just like her dad.
You turned back to start cutting up some more food for the party. âI think your parents will be here soon, J, so weâve gotta make sure the guest room is all set for them.â Jamie watched you pull more food out of the fridge, but he couldnât move. He had been thinking of an idea for a while, but hadnât found the right time to tell you.
You tilted your head in confusion as Jamie stood near the counter, Lila wriggling in his arms. âEarth to Jamie, can you go get the room ready? I think thereâs some extra towels in the closet-â
âWe should change it into a big girl room for Lila.â
Jamieâs words were said so definitively that you couldnât help but look at him. âShe wonât need a different bed for a while, we donât have to worry about that yet.â
âNot unless we have another babyâŠâ
Now, you were amused. âIs this some sort of reverse psychology experiment or something? Because Iâm not pregnant, Jamie.â
âNo, I know,â he mumbled, coming up next to you after setting Lila down in her height chair. âBut, I was thinking that Lila should have a sibling, and the guest room could become her room! It would be perfect, itâs got a bathroom for her and-â
âJamie,â you said, grabbing his hands to stop him from gesturing around the kitchen to explain his master plan. âI love you, but can we get through celebrating Lila first?
Jamie sighed, running a hand through his hair. âYes, yeah Iâm sorry. I was just thinking about last year, I guess.â
You closed your eyes, remembering what it was like one year ago in the hospital. After almost a day of suffering contractions, your little girl had arrived, kicking and screaming, into the world.
âYou thinking about it too, Y/N?â Jamie asked. You nodded silently. Jamieâs hand came up to cup your cheek and you let out a shuddered breath.
âBest day of my life,â you whispered.
Jamie hummed in agreement. âMine too. Meeting Li was love at first sight. Same with you.â
You let a few tears fall at Jamieâs statement, feeling yourself going all mushy at the thought of how your lives changed so much in a year.
âI love this little family so much, Y/N. Thereâs no one Iâd rather do life with than you.â

it was just a kiss || j.h.s
Summary:Â A night at the Hard Deck takes a turn when Jake confides in Mickey about some personal matters.
Warnings:Â swearing, fluff, jake has feelings, no use of y/n (reader has a nickname), fanboy is the ultimate bestie, drunk rooster is a menace to society
Word Count: 2.4k
Pairings: Jake Seresin x reader
Authors Note:Â Based on this prompt by @creativepromptsforwriting. Thanks to @writercole @demxters & @seresinsweetie for looking this over for me!
âThe girl with the bachelorette party has been eyeing you all evening.â Fanboy handed him another beer, perching onto the bar stool next to him.Â
Hangman looked over to where the group of girls were seated, catching the eye of the brunette that had been trying to get his attention since they arrived. The girl gestured towards the doors but he shook his head, giving her an apologetic smile.Â
âDude, what are you doing? Sheâs hot.â Mickey slapped his arm, eyes wide as saucers.Â
âIâm not interested.â
Fanboy looked concerned, swivelling around on his chair. âAlright, let me get this straight. For the past month, Iâve seen countless women approach you, yet youâve turned them all down. Whatâs going on?â
Jake snorted into his beer. âNothing. Iâm just not interested.â
âCan we please just have a human conversation? I know that underneath all of those protein shakes and hair products is an actual human being called Jake, and not Hangman. So, stop trying to avoid the subject.â Mickey leaned back against the wall, knocking his knee into Jakeâs.Â
Jake stared at Fanboy for the longest time, not knowing what to say. He opened his mouth but no words came out, so he settled back against the wall as well, keeping his eyes on the floor.
The Daggers had been permanently stationed at Top Gun since the Uranium Mission, instructing and flying together. Jake tried his best to play nice, offering to drive most of them home from the bar at times and buying beers on their nights out. He had made an effort to try and interact more, trying to show interest in their lives but he didnât think that the rest of the group, save Javy, had actually accepted him into their little makeshift family. He still felt like he wasnât truly a part of the group, but Mickeyâs concern told him that maybe he was wrong.Â
Fanboy shifted slightly, putting his beer away. âJake. You can talk to me.â
âI didnât think, uh, I mean -â
Fanboy smiled, patting his arm reassuringly. âI know. I know you think we donât care, but we do. If you donât want to talk, thatâs fine. But something is obviously bothering you. If youâre not comfortable with me, Javy might be a better option?âÂ
Jake didnât know what to say. He waited for the punchline, where Fanboy would laugh and mock him but it never came. Mickey was being sincere. The WSO just waited patiently, fingers drumming on the wooden bar behind them.Â
âYou know, you remind me of my brother.â Mickey picked at his jeans, pulling at the loose strings over the knee. When Jake didnât respond, he kept on talking.Â
âHis name is Diego. Heâs the oldest. Thereâs five of us, by the way. Heâs just like you. Walls up so high you can barely see past them. He always used to make fun of us when we were kids. I hated it. But when I got older, I realised that he was only doing it to push us. Mom and dad put a lot of responsibility on him and he did the best he could.âÂ
Jake listened as Mickey rambled on, the uncomfortable pit in his stomach lessening the longer Fanboy kept talking.Â
âI know youâre doing the best you can as well. I know that you taunt Rooster with the sole purpose of making sure he pushes his own limits. I can tell. You push us all to be better.â
He swallowed thickly, trying to make out what had transpired in the last 20 minutes. âHow? How can you tell?â
Mickey grinned widely. âLike I said, you remind me of Diego,â he grabbed the bottle again, âyouâre one of us Jake, even if you donât think so.â
Jake decided to throw caution to the wind and believe what Fanboy was telling him. If it was all true, then maybe he could talk to him. Maybe he could start being a part of the group. Before he could even open his mouth, Rooster appeared out of thin air and threw an arm around his shoulder.
âHANGMAN! The lady over there is asking about you!â Bradley leaned in closer, as if he was going to share a secret. âI think she wants to fuck you.â
Fanboy snorted loudly, startling Rooster. âFanboy, didnât see you there! What do you think, do you think she wants to fuck him?â
A bright red flush was covering Bradleyâs cheeks and his eyes were slightly unfocused and glazed over.Â
Mickey rolled his eyes. âRooster, how much have you had to drink?âÂ
Bradley was leaning onto Jake now, his head on his shoulder. âYou know, you smell good. And your hair is very soft.â Rooster patted Jakeâs head, smiling stupidly at his teammate.Â
âOkay buddy, I think we should get you home.â Bob appeared, slinging Roosterâs unoccupied arm around his shoulder, supporting most of his weight as he pulled him off of Jake. Bradley made a sound of protest as he was separated from Jake.Â
âNo, I was gonna help Hangman get laid. Thereâs a lady over there, and sheâs got the hots for him.â He waved in the general direction of the bar.Â
âHe isnât interested. So you can go home,â Fanboy laughed, pushing Bradleyâs hand away as it aimed for his head.Â
Bob tried to get him to move, but Bradley turned in his grasp, almost losing his balance. âYouâre not? But I was gonna help.â He pouted, leaning back onto Bob who grunted under the extra added weight.Â
Jake didnât get the chance to answer as Bob hauled Rooster away with the help of Payback who had snuck up on them. Bradley complained the entire way, waving excitedly to Penny at the bar as his teammates practically carried him out of the door.Â
âI guess thatâs it. You two coming with us or what?â Nat sauntered by, Javy following closely.Â
Jake was about to agree but Fanboy beat him to it. âIn a minute. You go ahead.âÂ
They waved goodbye and Jake itched to follow his best friend. Now it was just him and Mickey. Even though he was about to spill his guts out right before Bradshaw interrupted them, Jake hesitated.Â
âCâmon, letâs get some air.â Fanboy left his seat and Jake had no choice but to follow him out onto the deck. The sun was long gone, the pale moon taking its place. He could hear the waves crashing against the shore, people laughing further down the beach as they sat around a bonfire, sparkling brightly against the darkness.
âI could tell you were actually going to talk before Rooster interrupted us. Still want to?â
Jake hesitated for a moment before slumping back against the wooden rail. âHave you spoken much to the new team of mechanical engineers that arrived a couple of months ago? Like, Mercury for example,â he sighed as he nodded towards the window. Through it, across the bar, he could see Mercury sitting with her friends.Â
Mickey stretched out his legs in front of him. âSure. Mercury is badass. Her team is much better than Rogers and his idiots.â Their former mechanical team had been replaced by Mercury and her co-workers at the beginning of spring. Everyone preferred the new team.Â
âWell, you see, uh. A couple of weeks ago, I ran into Mercury. And weâve hung out a few times, outside of work. And IâŠâ Jake trailed off, not knowing how to continue.Â
Fanboy turned to him, eyes wide. âAre you telling me the reason youâve been turning down all these women is because youâve got a crush on Mercury?â
Jakeâs heart hammered in his chest, gut twisting slowly. âItâs not that. Well, partly. I canât stop thinking about her, no matter how much I try to occupy myself. I miss her when I donât see her for a couple of days and I feel like, I donât know, all giddy and shit when she smiles.â
âIt sounds like more than a crush. So why the sad face man?â Fanboy nudged his side.Â
âI kissed her. Well, she kissed me. We kissed. And after, she said âit was just a kissâ.â Jake deflated with disappointment, trying to hide just how much her response actually hurt him.
Mickey stayed quiet for a while before speaking. âDid you say you wanted something more?â
âI told her that I knew it was just a kiss but asked if it had to be just that.â
âWhat did she say?â
It hurt more than Jake liked to admit to revisiting what happened after their kiss. âShe said that while she liked me, she knew of my reputation and had no intention of being another notch in my bedpost.âÂ
Fanboy clicked his tongue. âAnd thatâs why youâve stayed away from all the women. Trying to show her that youâre serious?â
Jake hadnât anticipated for Mickey to see right through him. The emotional turmoil of opening up like this, to have someone listen and not mock, was jarring. Jake didnât exactly have a lot of those people in his life. But Fanboy stayed, listening patiently as Jake talked.Â
âYes. Her words hurt but theyâre true. Iâm just trying to show her that Iâm willing to change, for her. That I have changed.â
His companions' next words cut deeper than they should. âYouâre in love with her. This isnât just a crush.â
He hadnât wanted to admit it to himself. Love wasnât something Jake was familiar with. It scared him, to be vulnerable and open with someone. To let them see every part of him. But it was true. Over the course of a few short weeks, being in Mercuryâs company had him breaking all his own rules as he realised that he did love her.
âYes.â
âThen you should tell her. Tell her that youâve changed, for her. Tell her that you love her.â
Jake sighed. âI canât. She doesnât feel the same, she made it very clear.â
Mickey slapped his arm, startling him. âDude! Stop. You said that she said she liked you. If your past is the only thing stopping her, then you need to tell her,â he paused for a moment before lowering his voice, âand you deserve someone, Jake. You deserve love.â
He didnât want to cry but Mickeyâs words brought a wave of emotion upon him. He swiped at his face, trying to hide the tears.Â
All of what Mickey was saying went against everything Jake had ever been told. His father always told him he was no good and that no one would ever want anything from him. That he would never amount to anything. Never achieve anything.Â
âItâs okay man. I get it. Youâre scared. But in the wise words of my abuela, âTo love is to be scared. If youâre not scared, itâs not worth itâ.âÂ
Jake laughed, a watery sound before wiping his face again. âShe sounds like a smart woman.â Jake took a deep breath, trying to gather his thoughts.Â
Mickey laughed as well, eyes sparkling. âSheâs the best,â he looked past Jake, eyes trained on something outside Jakeâs field of vision. âIf you were to tell Mercury, what would you say to her?â
Jake took a moment to ponder, trying to put his feelings into words. He guessed it was too late to turn back now, Mickey had already seen parts of him he hadnât shown anyone in years.Â
âI guess I would tell her how she makes me feel. That her smile brightens my day and that I want to make her laugh. That she makes me push myself to be better, both for myself and her. Iâd tell her that I love her, even if it scares me. That Iâve changed and that my past doesnât matter. Sheâs the only one I want.â
Fanboy clapped his hands together, smiling widely. âGood.â
âWhat do you mean âgoodâ?â Jake turned but Mickey wasnât looking at him. His eyes were trained behind him, shit eating grin in place on his face.Â
Jake turned his head, his eyes landing upon Mercury standing a few feet away, bottle dangling from her hand. He immediately choked up, hands growing clammy as he tried to find his voice. The look on her face told Jake she had heard everything.Â
âIâm gonna head back inside,â Mickey pushed off the chair before murmuring, âRemember what I said. You deserve love,â to Jake. He then sauntered back into the bar, saluting sloppily as he walked past Mercury.
Jake held his breath, counting to twenty as she approached him, sitting down tentatively in Fanboyâs abandoned seat. Neither of them spoke at first. Jakeâs heart was beating so hard against his ribs that he thought it would break free. His palms were sweaty and he wanted to bolt, rush back inside.Â
âYou love me?â She quietly asked, hands twisting in her lap. He desperately wanted to reach out and intertwine their hands but he wasnât sure it would be welcomed. Mercury chose for him when she grew tired of waiting for an answer.Â
She reached over, clasping one of his hands between her own. âJake. Talk to me.â
Mercury was staring at him with a gentle smile. Her face was open and inviting, making Jake feel braver. He could do this.
âYes. I donât know when it happened.â
She laughed, squeezing his hand. âDoes it matter when it happened?â
âI guess not.âÂ
Neither of them spoke after that but there seems to be no need. All Jake focused on was the feeling of his hand between hers, the way they both seemed to breathe at the same time. Itâs peaceful.Â
âIâm sorry that I said it was just a kiss,â Mercury murmured while tracing the veins on his hand. âI wanted to say it was more than that, but I didnât want to get hurt.â
âHurting you is the last thing I want. I want this. Us.â Jake squeezed her hand back, intertwining their fingers. He desperately wanted her to repeat his earlier words back to him but he didnât want to push her either. He knew he loved Mercury. He could wait while she sorted her feelings out.Â
After all, he hadnât exactly planned on telling her nor even approaching her.
âJake?â
He hummed contentedly, the feeling of her hand in his calming him down better than any trick his therapist had ever taught him.Â
âIf you want to, Iâd like that kiss to be more than just a kiss. I want you. Truth is, I think I fell in love with you when we went hiking. I know thatâs so long ago and Iâm sorry for not telling you but -â
Jake cut her off, cupping her face and pressing their lips together, smiling into the kiss. She loved him. It was all he needed to know. Theyâd figure the rest out later. If Jake had it his way, theyâd have the rest of their lives.

Long Way Down Part One
Part Three
Here's the story of married Harry who's a dad to three small kiddos, and married for over seven years to Y/N. Marriage is always hard work, but what happens when being married to a pop star becomes too much for Y/N?
WARNING-slight references to sex, curse words
This is angst angst and more angst. There are other parts to the story, and with enough feedback, I'll post more to this story.
Word Count 4.7K
âJapan. Chile. Australia. Oh, and let's not forget Madagascar. Mada-Fucking-gascar, Harry. Who goes to Madagascar? Why the one and only Harry Styles? That's who. You realize most people never see any of those places in an entire lifetime, right? But you, you went to all of those places THIS YEAR!â Y/N stomps to their daughter's room picks her up from her crib, hoists the baby on her hip, and walks out of the nursery and down the hall.
Harry follows her to the kidâs bathroom. "Y/N, baby, it was all for work. I don't care about those places, don't even get to enjoy them."
"It doesn't matter. You still got to go. And that's in addition to your normal New York, LA, often Paris or Rome. Those places are just another day at the office for you. Do you want to know where I've been? Whole Foods. Baby Gym. Holmes Chapel. The park. School runs. Yep, thatâs about it. Oh, the doctors, and kids' birthday parties; on wild days, a friend comes for a glass of wine when I can finally relax at 9 PM. So donât do this with me, not this time.â She begins to undress the baby. Sheâs seething but keeps her voice down so the little one isnât upset.
âDo you know how many days youâve been home since the tour ended? Iâll tell you because I know exactly. 26. You couldâve paid someone to do your dirty laundry and brought home clean clothes. Even the slightest gesture to show you get how hard it is around here.â
âIâm sorry. I was so focused on just getting home I didnât even think of having them done.â Harry turns on the bath water and tests the temperature.
âOh, poor thing. Traveling the world in the lap of luxury must be torture.â
Harry walks to the door. "No, Y/N, no. You know what a tour is like. You've been on the road with me. You know how utterly chaotic it is. Yes, I should've thought about the laundry, but I didnât.â
She places the baby in her bathtub seat, squats, and begins soaping her up. âOf course, you didnât think of me.â
Harry is leaning on the doorframe of the bathroom now. âBabe, swear if you give me just a bit to decompress, I'll be happy to give you whatever ya need. Weâll take a family vacation, go someplace nice, the five of us, any place you like, you pick.â He extends his hands in her direction.
âYou've been home 26 days. That's how long you've had to decompress.â She uses air quotes around decompress. You've done zero loads of laundry. I do at least four a day, trying to catch up with everything. Laundry never ends even when itâs just me and the kids. You leave a trail of mess in every room. You do nothing to help, nothing. Itâs like youâve completely checked out on the fact this is supposed to be a partnership.â
âMy job isnât just dancing around in sparkly trousers for an hour or two. Iâm fucking exhausted too. Youâre not playinâ fair, Y/N.â
"Thing is, I'm not playing at all, Harry.â
âA vacation with the five of us is a vacation to you, Harry, not to me. I love you guys, I really do, but I need a break. I needed this just for me. I wasn't asking for much, Harry. Five days for myself, time to decompress, as you call it. I wanted to be with my friends and sisters, but you know what, never mind. Go. Just go. Weâll talk about it when Iâve put her to bed.â
âIâll put her to bed.â He closes the door behind him when he steps out.
Harry hears her singing Adore You. The song always makes the baby smile. Y/N canât be completely furious if sheâs still singing his songs. Harry couldnât be more wrong.
When Y/N finishes with the bath, she wraps her daughter in her little duck towel with a hood and exits the bathroom. Their sonâs door is cracked down the hall, and she hears Harry talking with him. She stands just outside the entrance to eavesdrop.
âThat sounds like a good time, buddy. Iâm glad you had fun with your friend. Did you make sure to hug him and say thank you before you left his house? Did you thank his family for having you over?â
âYes.â He sounds so tiny for someone who wrecked Y/Nâs nerves with his big voice the entire time Harry was gone.
âSo, letâs get snug as a bug in a rug.â Harry wraps the blanket over their son and kisses his forehead. "Have a good sleep, and we'll have some fun in the morning, yeah?â
âLove you, Dad.â
Harry walks across the room and turns off the light. âLove you even more, bud. See you in the morning.â He closes the door when he leaves the room.
âThank you.â
âHeâs mâ son too, Y/N.â Harry walks toward the coupleâs room, head hanging down; he drags his finger along the wall.
He doesnât stick around to help put Lola down, be it because he forgot he said he would put her to bed or he's just upset.
Y/N walks to Lolaâs nursery, dries and lotions her, dresses her for bed, and places her in the crib, hoping she will go down without a fight. "Love you, punkinâ. Good night.â She kisses her and stands near the bed. She waits to see if she cries. When she only babbles, y/n turns on the baby monitor and nightlight, then crosses the room, turning off the light as she exits, but only closes the door partially.
Y/N heads toward the bedroom, dreading how the rest of the evening will go. Harry is sitting on the bed reading a book about Japanese art, his readers slide down his nose as he pretends to be intensely focused, but she knows him and knows heâs not focused.
She walks to the dresser, opens a drawer, and gets some pjs. Sheâs too pissed off to bother with a shower but goes to the ensuite to undress. âDonât have to pretend youâre reading Harry.â She changes her clothes and tosses the dirty clothes in the hamper, does her skincare, and brushes her teeth. She picks up a pair of Harryâs gross, beat-up sneakers as she enters the bedroom. "These are nice," she says, tossing them across the room.
âCut the crap, Y/N. I know what you're doing. You're not getting a fight out of me, so toss all the shoes you want. I'm not going to argue with you. The passive-aggressive stuff stopped working a long time ago."
She exhales and sits on the bed. "Not being passive, Harry, just aggressive. I'm tired. I'm so tired." She falls back on the bed.
He crawls over to her and plants a kiss on her lips. âMmm, minty.â He smiles.
âYep.â She closes her eyes.
He kisses her again. âCome over here; Letâs have a snuggle and a good nightâs sleep.â
âI canât tonight. I just canât.â She sighs as she climbs to the pillows, placing her head down on the fluffiest one-her favorite one.
âCanât what?â
âHave sex.â
âWasnât trying to.â
She rolls her eyes. "Okay. I don't know your pattern exactly; whenever you want to get frisky. Just met you, have no idea what you're like when you want to pretend an argument didn't happen, makeup, move past it, and get what you want.â
Harryâs eyes narrow. He swallows the lump in his throat and shakes his head in disbelief. âWow. I canât believe you just said that. Thatâs one of the worst things youâve ever said to me. To imply I manipulate you for sex.â Harry stands, grabs his pillow, and walks to the door. âIâll be in the guestroom.â
The following day she slowly opens her eyes and reaches over to Harry, but heâs not there. She thought that after he cooled off, he'd return to bed. She thought heâd slip under the covers once he knew it was safe and she was asleep. But he didn't come back to bed. She sits up and looks around the room. Gross sneakers are still across the room, three of Harry's hoodies over the recliner, one of Lolaâs toys, and an empty water bottle next to Harryâs wallet -the room is a disaster. She sighs, rubs her face, and flops back down. The house is quiet, almost too quiet. Why is it so quiet? In a panic, she sits up, throws on her robe, and walks to the door. She flings it open and rushes down the hall. When she gets to Lola's room, she pushes open the door; the light is off, and Harry, bare-chested, sits in the recliner, rocking her. "Is she sick? What time is it? Where is everyone?"
"No, she's not sick, Y/N, she's mâ daughter, and she needed a cuddle with her daddy."
"Oh. Look about last nightâŠ."
"Not right now, Y/N. Let me enjoy this. Archer and Poppy are in the playroom watching a film. Theyâve had their breakfast.â
She nods and leaves the room. She canât hold back her tears as she walks to the kitchen. But her tears abruptly halt when she enters the filthy kitchen. Harry obviously made breakfast for everyone. Pancakes and bacon are covered with a cloth and a note with Mumma written in crayon to let her know it is hers. But the tenderness she feels doesnât last long as she scans the kitchen. The dirty plates, cups, pots, and pans litter the kitchen and breakfast nook. The stove is splattered with grease and batter, and God knows what else. She starts to gather the dishes to clean them and load the dishwasher. Once everything is in the sink, she sits at the table in the breakfast nook, picking at the plate of food left for her. She isnât hungry. Lately, she never is.
"Not as good as yours, but not half bad.â Harry breaks the silence as he stands next to the fridge arms folded over his muscular chest.
âWhere is-â
âLiving room in her pack-n-play.â
âOkay.â She picks up a slice of bacon and bites into it. She tosses it back on the plate.
She stands, walks to the sink, and begins cleaning off the excess food.
âI was going to do that as soon as I got done with the baby. I didn't have time to juggle it all."
âReally? Didnât have time? Couldnât juggle it all? Thatâs rich.â She shakes her head and chuckles as she places the cutlery into the designated basket in the dishwasher.
He shakes his head, looking at the ground. He cocks his mouth to the side and clicks his tongue. "Touche." He walks over and begins placing the dishes in the dishwasher.
She moves, allowing him the glamorous opportunity of a lifetime. âWonder when the last time you did this was. Long before X-Factor, Iâm sure.â
âDonât.â Harry scrapes off a dish.
âBut why not? You get to have all the fun. You get to do all the talking. You get to see all the things. Meet all the people. You get it all.â She leans against the counter, tapping her fingers.
âY/N, Iâm warning you-donât.â
Her eyes widen, and she stands with a smirk on her face. This man bought all the audacity. âWarning me? Warning me? What are you going to do if I don't stop? Nothing.â
To get her attention, he throws a glass, aiming it at the sink, but not realizing the force behind it, it crashes into the stainless steel and shatters.
They both jump back, then freeze.
He reaches toward Y/N. âIâm sorry, Y/N. I didnât mean to."
âGet out. I mean it, Harry. And I donât mean the kitchen. You leave this house. You leave this house now, and donât come back.â Her words are low and deliberate as she stares at the floor.
âThat was out of order what just happened. I'm sorry; you know I'd never lay a hand on you or do anything in the world to scare you. Don't know what came over me."
âI said get out.â
âExcuse me? Donât come back to my own frickin' house? You've got to be kidding. I'm doing no such thing, Y/N. Will I go downstairs and stay in the entertainment room or sleep in the guest room? Sure. Will I take the kids out for the day? Sure. But leave? No. Weâve never spent one day apart in anger, and we arenât starting now, so get that idea out of your little head.â He points to his temple, gritting his teeth.
âFine, then I will.â She pushes him out of the way when she passes him to leave the kitchen.
Harry follows her. âYouâll what, Y/N?â He grabs her arm, attempting to stop her.
âGet your damn hand off of me, you big bully.â She jerks away, storming toward the bedroom.
Harry goes to the living room to get Lola. He hears their bedroom door slam. Poor girl is probably scared. Sheâs never heard people shout before, especially her mama or daddy. And now her mama says sheâs leaving? The words donât even sound right when Harry says them to himself. Harry approaches the bedroom, tapping on the door. âY/N, the baby, itâs time for her feeding.â
She marches toward him and takes the baby. âOf course it is; one more thing your pathetic ass can't do around here. Now, get out." She pushes against the door.
Harry walks out and closes the door.
***
Downstairs, Harry talks to Poppy and Archie, making sure that if they heard the yelling, they aren't scared. "Arch, you okay, bud?â
âYeah.â He doesnât look up just keeps playing with the Barbie and Ken dolls.
âPop, you doing okay?"
âYes, daddy. Are you?â She walks over and hugs his legs.
âYes, baby, Daddy is fine. Are you guys in the mood for a trip to the zoo? Maybe some pizza and ice cream after?
âYeah.â Poppy detaches herself from her daddy and jumps up and down.
âCan we go now?â Archer says, dropping the dolls and standing up.
"We can. Let's go get dressed, yeah?" Harry walks toward the stairs to the home's main floor.
The kids follow him up.
âAre mumma and the baby coming?â Poppy asks.
"Not sure, baby girl.â
Archer interjects. âIf theyâre gonna yell, I hope not."
Harry turns around. "There won't be any yelling, buddy, but that's not nice what you just said. We never say things like that, especially about your mummy or baby sister. We always want them included in whatever we do, always. Donât ever say anything like that ever again.â
Archer is crying now. "Sorry, Daddy, I didn't mean it."
At the top landing of the stairs, Harry stops and kneels to Archer putting his arms around him. "Come here. Let's hug Daddy, yeah?"
Archer slowly puts his arms around Harryâs neck. âDidnât mean it, Dad.â
"I know, buddy, we're all having a bad day, but what is the one, very most important rule in this house."
âTreat people with kindness.â Archer releases himself from the embrace.
"That's right, treat one another with kindness and love and goodness."
Archer sniffles. âI will.â
âAll right, to our rooms, we go.â Harry leads the kids into the hall.
Harry feels like his heart just broke in two. The one thing theyâd both agreed on before having kids is they would raise them in a peaceful home. They both came from divorced parents and knew what it was like when the family was immensely unhappy.
Harry ushers the kids to their rooms once back in the central portion of the house. "Okay, lollipop, do you need daddy's help getting dressed? Or do you want to try by yourself today?"
âI can do it, Daddy,â Poppy says. She pushes her blonde curls off her face.
"Good girl. Now, if you need me, call me, okay? And if you want something hanging up, remember no climbing; call for me, and I'll get it.â Harry pats her on the back.
âOkay.â Poppy skips to her room.
âArch, do you need help?" Harry asks, following Archer as he walks to the room next to Poppy's.
âNo, I got it.â
"Okay, guys, I'm going to help mummy with Lola. I'll be just down the hall."
Harry takes his time to get to the end of the hall. He taps on the door before entering. âLove?â He pokes his head in the door.
âYeah.â
âCan I come in?â
âYes.â She snuggles the baby closer as she nurses her.
âGonna take the big kids to the zoo. Can I take Lola?â
"She's your baby too, Harry. Please don't ask me a question like that. Of course, you can take her.â
âAll right, by the time I'm dressed, she should be finished, and I'll get her ready." Harry walks to the bathroom.
âPretty sure Iâm capable of getting my child dressed,â she mumbles.
Harry snaps around. "What the actual fuck is wrong with you, Y/N?" He's angry, but he keeps his voice down. "First, I do nothing, and then you pop off like that when I try to do something." Harry turns to walk back to the ensuite.
"Daddy's a grumpy pants, isn't he, baby girl? It's okay; you've got a mummy. Sheâll take care of you, just like she always has.â
Harry stomps out of the bathroom, mouth full of toothpaste. âNo, Y/N. No. You arenât going to do that shit," he says, toothpaste foaming from his mouth as he flings the toothbrush and points it toward her.
She sighs. âOkay, Harry, whatever."
âWhatever? Whatever?â Iâm done with this Y/N. Do what you will, hate me if you want, but donât bad mouth me to our kids.â He walks again to the bathroom sink, and turns on the water, rinses his mouth out, dries it off.
âItâs not exactly like she understands what Iâm saying.â
"Not exactly the point, Y/N.â He returns to the bedroom, then walks to the recliner, grabs a hoodie, and puts it on as he approaches the bed. "These babies are my entire life, Y/N. You know that, so think what you will of me as a husband, lover, and partner, but donât you ever talk about me like that to our children.â
Sheâs burping the baby now, patting her on the back. âThe kids are your entire life? I get it. Performing is your first love. No room for me.â She pulls her bottom lip in with her teeth and stares at nothing, looking at anything but Harry. Her eyes water, holding onto her tears.
Harry walks to her side of the bed. âYou know thatâs not what I meant, baby.â He sits on the bed next to her, his voice calmer now.
âNo, I get it, Harry. Trust me, I do. I wouldn't blame you if you stopped loving and wanting me. Furthermore, why would you want any of this? I mean, look at this whole thing, and then thereâs me. Iâm a mess.â
âIâm looking at you. I see you. What are you talking about? And I love this mess, and I love you.â He places his hand on her knee. He pushes his eyebrows together and searches her face.
âItâs over, Harry.â
âNo.â He shakes his head. âYouâre tired and frustrated, but thatâs life. Itâs not over.â
"It wasn't a question." She hands Lola to him and stands. She tugs at the bottom of her t-shirt, the shirt she borrowed from him when they were dating and never gave it back. It's faded and stretched out, a picture of One Direction but with the words Spice Girls written on it.
Harry says nothing and watches her. She walks to the closet, grumbles, and grunts, knocking about with a few curse words sprinkled in. Once she finds what she's looking for, she returns to the bedroom, drops a suitcase on the bed, and then unzips it.
"Y/N, baby, what are you doing?"
"I told you I'm leaving. You didn't think taking the kids to the zoo would stop that did you?"
âThis is crazy. Iâm gonna put Lola in her crib. Iâll be back.â Harry stands, walks across the room, and exits.
A few moments later, he returns. She removes clothes from the dresser. Harry approaches her and places his hand on her elbow. "Baby, let's talk about this. You can leave me, in theory, until we can figure something out, but you can't just walk out on the kids."
She shrugs him off her. âDonât touch me. There is nothing to figure out, not between us. As for the kids, of course, I'm not leaving them forever, don't be so dramatic, but I am leaving for now."
She goes to the bathroom. Harry can hear her gathering items from the vanity. He sits on the bed, dropping his head in his hands, then lifts his head resting his fingers tips under his chin. He stares at two crayons on the floor under the dresser. He makes that his sole focus, unable to look at her when Y/N returns and tosses the cosmetics bag into the suitcase. She huffs and sighs.
âI might not help as much as I should. I get it, but this, this is one time Iâm not lifting a finger to help you. So you can cut the sound effects.â
Thereâs a soft knock at the door before the handle turns, and small hands push the door open. âDaddy, are we going to the zoo?â
Tears have started to roll down Harryâs cheeks. He wipes his face and sniffs before Poppy comes in. âYes, baby girl, but give Daddy a minute. Go play nice in your room. Iâll come to get you when itâs time. And Poppy, please wait to be invited in before opening the door. You know the rules.â
âOkay.â Satisfied, she pulls the door closed.
"You see that, Y/N. Our kids need us. Our kids know when something's wrong. They heard our shouting earlier. We can't do this around them." He stands and walks over to her. "Listen, let me call Mitch and Sarah, and see if they can take them for the night, yeah? Or Jeff and Glenne might not mind, then we'll get dressed, go have a nice dinner, come home, and relax, just the two of us.â
âWhy so you can get laid, Harry?â
"Y/N, where is all of this coming from? That's the second time you've remarked that Iâm somehow this sex-crazed maniac that has to jump through hoops to trick his wife into having sex with him, yet you also say there is no way I could still want you.â
She shoves sneakers into the suitcase. âOh, believe me, I know you can find someone to have sex with, no doubt about that." She shakes her head and smirks. "Never had any problem getting that, did you?"
âWhat is wrong with you? Do you think Iâve been with someone else? Is that whatâs got you like this?â
She continues throwing things in the suitcase, then zips it up. She returns to the closet, retrieves another bag, unzips it, kicks it along the floor, and continues packing. âI told you. I canât do it anymore. Iâm tired. Iâm forgetful because Iâm overwhelmed. Important things arenât given their proper attention. I mess up more often than I will admit. This isnât good.â
âIf this is about going out of town on that girlsâ trip, then go.â He extends his foot and closes the top of the luggage. âHave fun. Go, but donât ruin our family just because you werenât getting your way.â
âFuck you, Harry. Because I wasnât getting my way? Itâs not that. Itâs that itâs always about you. Always. Itâs when are you leaving, when are you coming back, coming in late from the studio, FaceTiming at 3 AM just so I can see you and hear your voice, important events, meetings, everything is about you, and I'm sick of it. You know you're the one that wanted a third baby, or hell, a second baby, for that matter. I was happy when it was just the three of us, all traveling together, but you wanted a larger family, and as usual, I wanted to give you what you wanted.â
He stands next to her, reaches over and takes her face in his hands, and turns her toward him. He sees her face, but sheâs a stranger. He hadnât noticed the new lines between her eyebrows, the dark circles under her eyes, or the sallow shade of her skin. âTell me you don't regret Poppy and Lola. Please tell me you don't regret those two perfect little girls. Because I love you, Y/N, but if you tell me you regret them, I can't forgive you. Ever.â
She pulls away. "I do regret the timing. I should've insisted you take a multi-year hiatus before expanding our family because I made my life worse to make your life better."
He drops his hands from her and walks across the room to the window, which overlooks the expansive garden below. âWorse? How could anything about those babies make your life worse? Take it back before I say something that canât be unsaid.â You knew what you were signing up for, Y/N. You knew the life I live and how hard it would be, but you said âI doâ, you agreed this was the life we would live,â he says.
âYou donât see that even then, it was about you. It was what I agreed to, but what about me? What did you agree to do for me? What sacrifices were you willing to make? I gave up my career, so I could give you a home, take care of the kids, and always be available to support you in anything you needed me to support you in, travel with you." Sitting on the bed, she shoves her legs into her denim flares and stands. She walks over to the dresser and retrieves a black sports bra.
Harry turns to her. "Okay, what do you need? What do you need my support with? Besides the house, the kids? What is it that youâre missing?
She removes her t-shirt and puts on the bra. "Everything."
âYou've got to give me specifics, love. Have to help me here, at least with this. I can't read minds, baby. Believe me, if I could, this wouldn't be happening." He walks to her.
She pulls on a lightweight black sweater. "I need you to know me, Harry.â She goes back to the luggage, bends down, and zips closed the second bag. âI needed you to pay attention, to see that Iâm drowning here.â
"Okay. We'll have the maid come more days during the week, and we'll get a sitter, nanny, or whatever will make life easier for you. After the three nights in Manchester, I'll devote my time to you. But I have a contract I have to do these nights in Manchester, besides itâs kind of home. We can stay at Mumâs. All of us go together.â
âItâs not just about the housework or the kids. And I donât want to follow you to Manchester. I need you. I need a husband, a partner, not a sugar daddy who keeps knocking me up.â
âOh, get off it. Lola's over a year old, and never do I push you for sex, not ever.â
âWhatever.â She pulls the two suitcases upright, rolls them to the door, exits, walks down the hall, and passes the three bedrooms along the corridor. She can't stop, or she'll never go; if she stays, she'll make things worse. She knows she's on the brink of breaking completely.
Harry is behind her.
They make it to the front door, and she slides her feet into her loafers. As she opens the door, she turns to him. "Everything you need to know about your kids is in a folder on my desk in the office. Thereâs frozen milk in the fridge.â
He reaches out, but she shakes her head. âDonât.â She snatches her purse from the hook by the front door.
"Y/N, please, baby."
"Goodbye, Harry." With that, she steps out, dragging the luggage behind her. She doesn't look back.

Seeing a lot of Step dads being asked to adopt officially their step kids today on Tiktok and it made me think of Eddie doing something like that with Wayne.
We donât know if Wayne officially adopted him, maybe heâs just in temporary care and now Eddie is old enough to not need an adult to look after him but when anyone asks him about his parents he always talks about Wayne so he might as well make it official, right?
Steve helps him prepare the papers in time for Christmas and he even asks Jonathan for his camera so he can capture the moment.
Despite being sure, Eddie feels a little nervous. He knows that Wayne loves him like a son, but he also knows that taking care of him wasnât something he chose, more like the right thing to do when your brother is a fuckup and goes to prison leaving his kid to fend for himself.
Steve cheers him up by threatening him that if he doesnât ask Wayne to adopt him, he will. Somehow thatâs the weirdest and sweetest threat Eddie has ever received.
Eddie gives the papers to Wayne on Christmas, carefully folded inside a box, under a very ugly mug he knows Wayne will love in case the adoption papers arenât well received.
Wayne opens the box and huffs looking at the dog-shaped mug âyouâve outdone yourself son, might be my new favorite oneâ.
He notices the way Eddie flinches at the word âsonâ but he shrugs it off and turns to Steve, gesturing at the camera in his hands âis this all? Wanted to take a picture of this ugly ass mug?â
Steve tries to use a neutral tone, but it comes out fond nonetheless âI think thereâs something elseâ.
Wayne frowns, turns to Eddie whoâs bouncing on his place âlook at the bottom of the boxâ Eddie points at it.
He picks the piece of paper, unfolds it and, after giving a suspicious look to the both of them, he reads quietly.
If they didnât know Wayne, they probably wouldnât have noticed his eyes getting a little watery and his hands lightly trembling.
Eddie and Steve exchange a knowing look and a big smile, Steve takes it as his cue to snap the first picture.
The second depicts Eddie putting his hand on Wayneâs shoulder and his uncle -or better, his dad- looking up to hold back the tears.
The third one, everyoneâs favorite, has Wayne enveloping Eddie in a bone-crushing hug and Eddieâs surprised face.
A while later, when everyone has calmed down and Wayne has signed everything he needed to, he asks âso, what about Steve?â
The boys give him a surprised look âwhat about me?â Steve wonders.
âEither you two get married or I adopt you tooâ he says simply, sipping his coffee from his new favorite dog mug.
Both Eddie and Steve get red and ramble about how it is way too soon and that gay marriage being illegal anyways.
âIm just saying, sonâ Wayne dwells a second on the word, as it has taken a new meaning for him âthat Steve is part of the family too, and if you donât make it official then I will.â
Eddie doesnât give Steve any time to react âNo fucking way, manâ he jumps out of his seat and points at his boyfriend without looking at him âIâm asking him as soon as marriages are legal!â
âWeâll seeâ replies Wayne, just to rile him up, which works perfectly.
âAre you challenging me?â He turns to Steve, scandalized âdonât you dare become my step brother Steve!â
Steve winces just at the thought of it âof course-â
âHow do you expect Steve to say yes to marring you if youâre this controlling?â Wayne interrupts him.
âMe?? I would be a great husband! The best!â Eddie replies, looking outraged.
Steve covers his face in his hands and mutters âoh my Godâ as Wayne keeps poking at Eddie and the latter takes every bait.
It takes Eddie approximately 45 minutes to realize he had been talking about being Steveâs husband in front of him the whole time despite never having that conversation between them first.
His embarrassed expression once he realizes is Wayne secondâs favorite Christmas present that year.

The incident: This man is my son
- Nate What the hell are you doing? -From falling my Briefcase to the ground while The funny creature that was in my new armchair began to bark without moving from its comfortable place in the muscular arms of my little son Nate, the long and smelly feet of my son stank the entire room with the musky odor of the sweat from his feet.
- Isn't it great dad? her name is Zoey, Mom and I rescued her on the way home, and don't worry about taking her for a walk I'm going to start jogging in the mornings before I go to school, and I'll pick up everything I do in the garden and I'm going toâŠ- I made a hand gesture for her to stop and immediately there was silence, with the same hand I rubbed my hundred to try to alleviate the migraine that was beginning to attack me -Just... it's fine just don't put her on the sofa and clean what she does- I continued on my way towards the kitchen while Nate smiled at me with those lips hidden in a beard recently shaved by my wife Naina, in a second Nate wrapped his long arms around the dog and lowered her to the ground.
-And don't put your feet up on the table! - I yelled before entering the kitchen, once again Zoey the new member of the family barked at me and stayed while she and my huge and noisy son stayed in the living room, as soon as I entered the kitchen I almost tripped over one of my son's toys, put away the little red tricycle with a soft kick that my son usually plays with after coming home from the gym, maybe I should buy him a bike before he breaks it with his new weight of 265 pounds and his height of 6.5 feet tall but I should teach him how to drive it first just like I taught him how to shave.
The government psychologist assured me that it was only a matter of time before me to get used to my new son and his new body, but for me, it is still embarrassing to have to explain to the neighbors that the manly, muscular, shirtless white man who is playing basketball in our front yard is actually my little son Nate.
I couldn't do anything but get used to having another "man" at home, the government is trying to reverse the random exchanges but the terrorists altered the gas so that the effects would be indefinite, maybe forever, I went to the stove to prepare a chamomile tea, while I waited for the sound of the kettle to alert me, I tried to remember my life before that stupid accident in the subway.
Before Nate was the huge 6.5 feet tall hairy gorilla sitting in my living room he was an ordinary kid coming home to his grandfather from elementary school, the same way thousands of people inhaled the gas that a group of terrorists had stolen from a Swap Corp truck and when they woke up they found themselves trapped in the body of some stranger next to them!
The incident destroyed many lives and separated many families But Nate doesn't seem upset with his new body I don't think I've ever seen him smile so much now that he's a 33-year-old man, He doesn't have to go to school so while I and his mom are working he spends his mornings at the gym or playing video games but he still visits his old friends from elementary school to beat them at basketball and tell them all about his new life as a white man.
Of course, my father was also affected by the body-swapping gas, and right now he is spending his retirement money on his vacation in South Korea Before he left he said something about connecting with his new culture and his new age.
He was really lucky to end up in the body of âYoonâ a 25-year-old Korean man who was just at the station to take a couple of photos for his Instagram, at first Grandpa was puzzled by his adorable face and body. of a Greek god but now from all the pictures on the beach and in clubs on the other side of the world, it seems that he is having fun with his second chance. I can't say the same for the real Yoon, The term in my father's fat and old African-American body, and is living in a government asylum for people affected by the incident that's another story...
Hey folks! if you like bodyswap stories take a look at my patreon, I have a lot of more stories, and you can help me keep creating more stories!

The Bet
Tw: nsfw, butt play, degradation sort of
Keep in mind I'm aroace very new to writing this kind of stuff
Angel dust x GN reader
Losing a bet to your boyfriend Angel Dust came with its perks. You had started making these bets to spice up your relationship. It started small. "If I beat you at cards you have to give me a kiss" but it soon got to be similar to a spicy game of Truth and Dare. And bet in particular got... intense. "One more game of darts babe, come on" Angel was making any excuse to keep the party going even though you were ready to call it a night. "No, you just don't wanna stop drinking and partying but you can do that without me." You reasoned. "It ain't as fun without you" he tried to sweet talk you. "How about we make a bet to make things more interesting?" He proposed. You knew what you were getting into. If Angel won you were going to be in for a ride but you couldn't help it. It turned you on just a little bit and excited you. "Okay fine. If I win... you have to top me." Your boyfriend Angel was more of a bottom and you were happy to take charge but there were times you wanted to be in opposite positions. "Deal. But if I win... I get to... decide your punishment at a later date." He said with mischievous grin. "Aw what? I don't even know I'm agreeing to... or are you just not that creative today?" You challenged. Angel scoffed clearly offended. "Are you kidding? You have any idea what I do for a living? Not that creative..." You held in a laugh because of how easily you got to him. "Nah, I just have a couple of ideas in mind and I just want some time to pick which one. Now do we have a bet or not?" He smirked. "It's a bet." You agreed. Too bad you suck at darts...
Angel didn't waste time rubbing it your face. "Aw you didn't have to lose on purpose that bad to help my ego." He teased. You gave a dirty look but with a playful smirk underneath. "Well, I'm going to bed now" you yawned. Angel didn't fight you this time. "G'night babe" you blew him a kiss as the elevator doors closed. The next few days went by like normal and you completely forgot about the bet. That is until Charlie announced that they were having a big fancy masquerade party and all of hell's most powerful and elite were invited. "You see, since my dad cut me off and Alastor doesn't have much use for money we are looking for some investors and this party will be our big attempt gain support." Charlie explained. Vaggie, who was a straight to the point kind of person, added to the conversation. "These people are some of Hell's most rich and powerful so everyone needs to be on their best behavior." You wondered what Angel thought of all this nonsense but when you looked over you caught him staring at you with a devilish look in his eye before he turned away quickly upon you noticing him. That evening you were deciding what to where when you saw him entering your room from behind you in the mirror. "That outfit is fire baby I would go with that one." He said gesturing to one of the outfits you had set aside. "Yeah, I like this one too." He smiled almost a bit too innocently. "I have just one note" he said. "Oh yeah and what's that?" You asked. "Don't go without this" you looked up to see he was holding a butt plug. "You think I'm gonna wear a butt plug to this thing?!?" You looked at him as if he was crazy. "I know you are. You lost the bet remember." Unfortunately you're memories came flooding back. "Damn it." You agreed to that stupid bet in the first place. And you should've known he was going to do something like this. You begrudgingly agreed and took it from him. "Here let me help you with that." He wasn't taking any chances as he took upon himself to insert it into your anus. It wasn't too big but it was gonna take some getting used to for a bit. It definitely felt weird walking around with something inside you. You got all dressed up and headed downstairs.
The party was filled with very high class demons. Some were hellborn nobles and others were sinner overlords. And even Lucifer himself was there despite the fact that he cut Charlie off. Although he didn't seem too pleased to be there. You tried to act normal despite what was going on in your rear and it started to feel a little better. You were still hyper aware down there but you were getting more comfortable with it. You floated around the room. You made small talk with a few demons here and there before you noticed Charlie was guiding her father Lucifer in your direction after introducing him to everyone else. You were quite nervous but you forced a smile. "And this is y/n. Y/n this is my father Lucifer." He didn't seemed interested in you as he coldly put out his hand without giving you a glance "pleasure" he said unenthusiastically. You went to shake his hand "pleasures all mi-" you gasped as you felt a strong vibrating sensation in your rectum. Lucifer definitely noticed and had a look of surprise. "Um the pleasuress.. all mine-SIR" the butt plug was set to an on and off setting where it would start buzzing and then stop. You felt your legs getting shaky as you tried to maintain your composure. Lucifer was aware you were acting strange, but in hell's name couldn't tell why. Charlie was more just concerned. "Are you okay?" She asked. "Yes I'm fine! Totally fine!" Charlie could tell you wanted this conversation to end so she did it for you. "I should show you the view from the balcony dad. It's breathtaking." She led him away as you sighed in relief for only a second when you noticed Alastor on his way over. WTF? You thought. "Hello, y/n! Pardon my intrusion but Angel told me you wanted to speak with me" that fucking asshole! You leaned on the table for support trying to make it look casual. "You KNOW whaaat, I.. I don't remember what was-must not have beennnn important" you smiled nervously hoping he would just go away but he didn't seem notice. "Well, that's odd. You'll have to let me know if it comes to you later. How are you enjoying the party?" You continued talking to him clenching your cheeks and leaning on the table desperately trying to hide the torture you were under. Finally Alastor was needed elsewhere and you were free. You needed to find Angel now! You scoured the room before spotting him at the bar casually sipping on wine engaging with Husk. You made you were having over having a difficult time walking. "Angel! We need to talk!" Angel just gave you a smirk. You were started to become infuriated "Angel this is serious. There's a lot of powerful demons here." Angel took a sip of his wine "so?" You sighed in frustration. "So... just pick something else for the bet please" you pleaded with him. "Alright. Alright." He said. You saw him pull out of his pocket just visible to you the remote. He pressed a button a few times. Suddenly you felt the most intense buzzing ever and almost fell to your knees before he caught you. You heard Charlie approaching in alarm. But Angel reassured her. "Nah, don't worry about it. They just had too much to drink. I'll take them up to their room." He practically carried you which definitely convinced everyone that you were drunk. They probably thought it explained your strange behavior through the night. He guided you up the elevator, past your room and into his room. He pushed you onto the bed and removed your clothes and the butt plug. After all the times you came really close to climax tonight you were in desperate need. "Time for you to accept your end of the bet" he whispered in your ear. You were in for a long night. And you weren't complaining.

Omg what is starlet reader was ewans daughter and Hayden used to babysit her when she was a kid
MINORS DNI 18+
NOTES: i rly liked this concept :) feel free to ask me about it more! i think this was a good broad start to it
WARNINGS: dead dove do not eat | age gap | dark content proceed with caution | there is absolutely no predatory acts mentioned, but because the situation is inherently predatory i'm tagging it | sexual content at the end | implied smut | no y/n
! ââ "Yeah, no problem. We'll stay on site at my trailer, order a pizza. How hard could it be?" HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN assures Ewan, who frowns at him in response, clearly amused.
"Alright, I'm going to pretend you didn't say that." he pats Hayden on the back as he exits, and when he gestures to you, he tells you a simple "Be good." Your complexion flushes when Hayden lays eyes on you.
"You ready?"
! ââ "I don't need a babysitter." you tell him as he picks up a slice of pizza from the box, the strings of cheese stretching thin until they break. You have a raging, hormonal and proximity induced crush on your dad's co-star. Not to mention he's a total babe, and so kind. Desperately, you want him to see you as independent, as cooler than you are. You think he's so grown up even though he's barely older than a legal adult.
"Sure you don't. We're hanging out." he replies so easily that you almost believe him, even though he's only saying it to make you feel better.
! ââ You've always been so standoffish with him. You found any excuse to be around him, but you'd jade yourself out of fear he'd find out your embarrassing feels for him. Often you'd fantasize about him confessing his love to youâ but had no idea how problematic that'd be if he did. Now, you're inside his trailer, alone with him, and he's coaxing you out of your shell by making you play one of his video games. It smells like a boy's room in here.
"Ugh! I'm no good at this!" you cry, throwing your hands down into your lap. Frustrated over your lack of progress, you've been going around in circles in this mission for what felt like hours. It exacerbated your already heightened stress levels around him. Would he think less of you for not doing well?
"Wait a second, hold on," His voice is surprisingly soothing, muffled by the pizza crust stuck in between his molars like a cigar. You don't realize it's because he's resisting the urge to leave you here when he steps outside to smoke. He promised he'd keep an eye on you, so that's what he's doing. Besides, he doesn't wanna be a bad influence on you. He reaches over, and you relinquish the controller to him, his hand grazing yours in the process. "Let's see here..." Instead of paying attention to the screen, you stare at where the point of contact was. "There, see? You had it." he tells you, handing you back the controller after he'd gotten you past your obstacle.
! ââ It would be several years before you'd see Hayden again, but you didn't forget him or his extraordinary kindness. He had a way with words, a way of making you feel heard and important. That doesn't change at allâ he hasn't changed at all. Besides the way he looks at you now that you're all grown up, established in the world as your own person. Ewan thinks to reintroduce you to Hayden, but he didn't forget your name. Exclaiming it even as he pulls you into a polite embrace, relaying to you he hardly recognized you, that you look great, etc. Just like that, your raging crush is back. Like it never left.
! ââ It picks at you until you act on it, until you confess to Hayden you've always had a thing for him. You're both older now, which means you're not so ashamed of yourself, but can look back on it as normal childhood feelings. You're thankful your fantasies were never answered until now.
"A crush? On me?" he asks in entertained disbelief, gesturing to himself.
"Yes! Obviously," you insist, "You were always so nice to me. Watching out for me when my dad was working later than he thought. How could I not? C'mon,"
"I'm not judging you," he assures, and he shrugs, "I just... didn't know is all." It's apparent he doesn't know what to do with this information.
"Does that make you uncomfortable?"
"Yes and no."
"Why?"
He meets your eyes. There's a tentativeness to his countenance, a debate behind his gaze over whether or not he should say his next words, if they're appropriate, if they'll be received well. "Because I've got a crush on you now."
! ââ Going through your normal stages of adolescence, experiencing the journey of discovering your sexuality, exploring it as an adult with your own autonomyâ there was always that inkling in the back of your mind reminding you of your lingering childhood crush on Hayden Christensen. How you've never felt anything for anyone as intensely as you did for him. Those buried feelings manifest when you finally allow them to roam, sweeping you up and away.
He'd invited you to his trailer to catch up, and you end up on top of him.

Steve looks up from his magazine, one of Keithâs many car subscriptions that he is gifted as leftovers, to find Dustin not not looking straight at him and fiddling with the same copy of Hello! Dolly he had picked up a solid ten minutes ago.
He is fairly certain he knows Dustinâs movie preferences. And they donât include Barbara Streisandâs matchmaking through song and big hats.
Dustin turns away, revealing a backpack that now sports a gigantic Hellfire patch sewn onto the front pocket, courtesy of Robin and Eddieâs joint sewing endeavours.
âHenderson!â Steve calls, frowning.
Nothing. The kid might as well be twiddling his goddamn thumbs as he chances a glance over he shoulder, very obviously hearing him.
Steve snaps the magazine shut and rounds the counter to the musical section. But Dustin scampers away, setting a steady pace as he comically power walks down the split horror-comedy aisle in order to double back to the front of the store.
âHey! What the hell, man?â Steve says, taking a few strides to get ahead of the kid so Dustin is blocked right between him and the front candy display, âWhat the hell is up with you?â
He probably sounds more accusatory than curious, judging by Dustinâs wide and panicked eyes. The boy shrugs and looks away.
Yeah, Dustin not talking and not blabbering away about anything, let alone whatever it is thatâs up? Fucking weird.
Steve looks him over, examining his young friendâs movements as he shuffles on the spot and periodically scuffs his sneakers on the sun-faded green carpet.
âUm, uhhh...â Dustin hums after a long pause.
Still strangely incomprehensible for him â but itâs something, at least.
âWhat is it?â he asks, voice low as he searches for a shred of eye contact.
âDo you, I dunno... maybe...â Dustin trails off, gesturing in the air as a pair of nervous eyebrows disappear up under the Cubs cap Steve gifted him for Christmas 1984.
Not that Dustin cares about the Cubs â then or now.
Dustin slips his hands under his backpack straps and rocks on the spot as he continues prattling on.
âDo you wanna hang out on Sunday? I mean, if you donât have a date or anything.â
The kid sticks out his bottom lip and rolls his eyes, not at all appearing as casual as he seems to want to be.
âSure,â Steve shrugs, confused.
Jesus Christ, since when is this kid all nervous about hanging out?
âSteve,â Dustin sighs deeply, pinching his nose (good, back to his bratty, if a little exasperated, self), âSunday is Father's Day.â
âOh.â
He must have passed by the greeting card display at Melvadâs, over and over during every lunch break as he headed in for a can of soda and whatever non Family Video-sponsored candy Keith was craving.
Itâs not like he had any reason to remember. His folks havenât been home since the âearthquakeâ and they almost never call. Hell, he has enough of a time conversing at any length when his mother does call, let alone asking her to put his father on the phone.
Not that he wants to talk to his non-college attending, barely-high school graduate son who works minimum wage retail and has no girlfriend, anyway.
Not that all of that matters much when Dustin is looking back at him with a rare sadness in his eyes.
âI mean, your dad isnât home â obviously,â Dustin starts, though not quite as harsh as his usual barbs, âAnd Will spends the day with Hop now. Eddie and Wayne go fishing. And I would be going to visit my grandpa but he and Nanna went on a cruise. I think they went â â
âSure, buddy,â he blurts out, offering a pat on the shoulder to make up for inadvertently cutting the kid off. He pauses and frowns, âBut what about your mom?â
Dustin shrugs, âShe wants to have a girlâs day with Valerie.â
Ah, yes. Valerie Richardson, Claudia Hendersonâs best friend and Hawkinsâ biggest town gossip courtesy of her job as the receptionist at the doctorâs office. Steve canât help but laugh â Valerie really knows her stuff.
âIâm assuming their girlâs day will involve a charcuterie board and wine?â
âCharcuterie,â Dustin mutters, beyond displeased at the thought of dips, fruit and water crackers â a far cry from his motherâs prized lasagne.
âAlright,â Steve announces, rubbing his hands together, âWeâd better pick out some movies. Iâm thinking we hit the arcade, then have a movie marathon over the cheesiest of pizzas...â
Dustin grins.

You share a look with him at the gesture and pet name, and he coughs to cover the awkwardness as you turn back to your cutlery, pretending to be invested wholeheartedly in the meal before you. Your dad sits on your momâs right side, across the table from Yoongiâs fiancĂ©, Leah, nose buried in a book and missing out on the conversation.
âSorry, Mom. Just helping one of the guys out with some girl troubles.â Yoongi pockets his phone and smiles over at his fiancĂ©, who sits to the left of him. âThankfully, I donât have those issues anymore.â
You know Yoongi doesnât mean anything by his statement other than to bask in the love he shares with Leah, but you internally cringe because you know your mother. Three, two, oneâŠ
âYou might not, dear, but your older sisterâs biological clock is ticking. Speaking of your friends, is that one doctor, Seokjin, still single?âÂ
âUh, Iâm not sure, but he works a lot, Mom. He doesnât really have time right now to date and stuff.â Yoongi looks over at you where you sit at the edge of the table on his right side, his eyes apologetic at opening up this can of worms.
âNow, honey, sheâll find someone when sheâs ready. No need to rush, right, princess?â Your dad comes to your rescue, seeing the tension youâre clearly showcasingâtight smile, eyebrows raised, fists clenching around the silverware.
âBut I want grandchildren! Healthy grandchildren at that! She is getting to an age where risks of certain disorders increase, and if she waits too much longer, she might not be able to survive a pregnancy, let alone the child,â she huffs, pouting about the scenarios sheâs spewing.Â
Your mom has always had a complete lack of regard for othersâ feelings; itâs just one of her selfish qualities that youâve all been subjected to over the years. Not that her wanting you to get married and have kids so she can have grandchildren isnât selfish already, but now to demand that they have absolutely nothing âwrongâ with themâdespite that not always being something a woman can control when carrying a childâjust puts the icing on the cake.Â
You make sure to time your response for when she picks up her wine glass. âYes, Mother. I will be sure to tell the semen that gets ejaculated into me that it better not have any disorders.âÂ
The sounds of her sputtering the wine back into the glass fills you with satisfaction. Leah, Yoongi, and your dad all laugh to some degree, though your dad also displays wide eyes at the blunt nature of your words.Â
Your mom says your full name once she regains her composure, but youâre too busy placing another bite into your mouth, the morsel melting on your tongue as you hum with contentment.Â
âYoung lady, I am speaking to you!â
âOh? Iâm sorry, I thought I was old and withering away, all my chances of giving you crotch goblins to dote on basically fluttering out the window.â You nod at the large window behind her.Â
âVery funny. Seriously, youâre a true comedian. Iâm just the villain in your life, because me wanting to make sure that you donât squander your life away alone and without love is a bad thing to want for my daughter.â Her fake tears are building; voice warbling as if sheâs getting choked up at her manipulated selflessness being misconstrued.
âOh, give it a rest, Mom!â You raise your voice, fed up with her attempts at gaslighting. Especially with the way things have been between you and Jungkook lately, youâre a little more sensitive to her needling at you than usual. The rest of the table falls silent, not used to you responding to her like this.Â
âHoney,â your dad tries to cut in, but youâre already set on being honest.Â
âNo, Dad, donât try to change the topic. She wants to talk about this, so we will.â You turn to face her head on, hoping that you wonât see Yoongiâs reaction when he finds out the truth between you and Jungkook. âIâve been seeing someone for awhile now, and I didnât want to tell you about it because you like to push and push and scare people away. I didnât want to tell anyone about it until it felt like it could be serious. So stop trying to pair me with Seokjin, or Namjoon, or any of Yoongiâs other friends, because Iâm already seeing one of them. Jeon Jungkook.â
The room falls dead silent.Â
âWait, youâreâŠno way! Youâre the one heâs been seeing?!â Yoongiâs incredulous tone has you swiveling to look at him. âI thought you guys were just likeâŠbest friends,â he finishes lamely.Â
âYesâŠwhy, what do you know?â Your interest piques as varying emotions cross Yoongiâs face.Â
âNothing, just that heâs been seeing someone for several months, andâactually, this is weird. Iâm not talking to my sister about my friend.â
You sigh out, annoyance in every huff at the way he just decided to end the conversation. Especially since this means your mom now gets the chance to speak.Â
âJeon Jungkook? Is he that nurse friend of yours, Yoongi?â
He nods at her question, deciding to talk to her instead of you, as if it would be a safer territory. âYeah, he works at the same hospital as Seokjin and Namjoon.â
âThatâs a respectable job.â Your mom seems to be plotting, wheels turning behind her eyes. âHow old is he again? Does he have any assets of his own?â
âUhh, heâs twenty-six. And Iâm not sure, Iâm not his financial advisor. But heâs a good guyâworks hard, is loyal to his friends, or so I thought, before I knew he was seeing my sister behind my back.â
You roll your eyes at him, about to speak up, when Leah beats you to it.Â
âYoongi, please do not tell me that youâre one of those guys who thinks that fatherâs and brotherâs own the women in their families and that your older sister making her own relationship decisions is somehow something that needs to be run by you? And that itâs okay for you to be associated with him, but not for your sister?â
âIâno, I donât think that way, Iâm just shocked that the two of them kept it secret for so long, thatâs all. Thatâs all, I promise!â He repeats it when Leah continues to glare at him, as if she is contemplating whether or not to proceed with their wedding at the end of the week.Â
Your mom tries to direct the conversation back to your love life. âHeâs twenty-six? Oh, no, heâs way too young for you! Youâre thirty-two, darling, heâs not going to be ready to settle down with you at this point in his life! Why, heâs probably just now starting to enjoy his single life. At that age, men want to sow their seeds, not plant them for the rest of their life.â
Blinking at her, you feel dumbfounded at her words. As if twenty-six is so different from thirtyâthe age your brother is right now. You realize that thereâs no arguing with her, nothing you do will be good enough for her. It stings to know that even if you were to get married and give her grandchildren, that they probably wouldnât meet her expectations either.Â
âListen,â Leah breaks in, voice soothing as she reads the room. âI think itâs smart that you and Jungkook are keeping things quiet until youâre ready. Less room for others to try and break you up, and allows you to grow into love with each other without outside influences and doubt. He may be twenty-six, but youâll know better than all of us what heâs ready for. Ages donât have set milestones.â Â
âWell said, Leah, thank you. Yoongi, have I told you that you did well choosing your future wife?â Your dad attempts to break the tension, and it works for the most part. The five of you resume eating lunch, and once itâs over, you bid your parents farewell under the guise of needing to finish preparing for your brotherâs joint bachelor/bachelorette party that youâre graciously hosting.Â
Unsurprisingly, Yoongi follows your lead, an excuse of last-minute wedding preparations rolling easily off his tongue so that he, too, can make an escape with Leah in tow. The three of you walk down the front steps into the summer humidity, and you wait patiently at the door of your car for Yoongi to gather his thoughts into words.Â
âHey, Iâm sorry for what I said back there. Iâm just surprised to find out about you and Jungkook because heâs talked to us about you before. I didnât know it was you, and now that I do, I kind of wish I still didnât,â he jokes with a gummy smile, easily settling your nerves, âbut mostly, I want you to be happy.â
âThanks, the only reason I didnât tell you about Jungkook is because heâs your friend and I didnât want to make it weird for you guys, especially if it wasnât going to turn into anything. I still donât know if it will, but Mom was pissing me off, and I just wanted to shut her up. It didnât work, but, oh well.â
Yoongi looks at you with questions in his eyes. âDo youâŠyou know, want you and Jungkook to turn into something?â
You ponder the question, blinking as you roll the thought across your mind. âI thinkâIâŠâ
âLet me rephrase it. Maybe it will help you figure it out for yourself. How would you feel if Jungkook decided he did want more, and stopped whatever is going on with you to pursue it?â
Just hearing the thought that Jungkook would decide he wanted more and not deem you to be the person to pursue âmoreâ withâŠit brings a pang to your chest. Your face reveals it, and Yoongi just hums before asking another loaded question.Â
âWould you be okay if Jungkook decided to bring someone with him to the wedding? Someone who isnât you?â
This causes you to pause again.Â
âWhat do you mean âif he brings someone with him to the weddingâ? Like a date?â Your chest feels tighter, a string coiling itself inside of you making it hard to breathe.Â
Yoongi doesnât say anything at first, lips hesitant to speak, but you must be looking at him as if you need something, anything, to be able to fill your lungs fully.Â
âLook, I care about you both, so Iâm not going to gossip or share anything that Iâm told in confidence. That being saidâif either of my questions made you feel some type of way, do something about it.â
Yoongi leaves you with those parting words, moving to the driverâs side of his car. Leah waves at you from the passenger seat, and you wave back as Yoongi reverses out of the driveway and disappears out of view.Â
Your living room is freshly vacuumed, various board and card games stacked on your coffee table and bottles of liquor lining the kitchen counter. You load a case of beer into the fridge, waiting for Jungkook to show up with the food you ordered so you can set it out on the small dining room table.
A few decorations line the edges of the counter and dangle from the walls to celebrate the upcoming matrimony of your brother and his fiancĂ©. You were able to change into a cute summer dress, possibly a little short but you were at home and could easily change if you needed, and just about everything was done. You check your phone again looking for a message from Jungkook, and it pops up when you unlock your phone.Â
Slipping into your flats, you walk out your front door and watch as Jungkookâs car pulls up to the side of your street and parks. You walk the short distance to his vehicle and open the back passenger door to grab the tied plastic bags of hot food.Â
Jungkook is still seated, the carâs music still playing despite being turned off. Heâs grabbing his belongings, a black backpack, car keys, and cellphone, before grabbing the cardboard box from the passenger seat.Â
âThanks for grabbing this for me, Gguk. I was able to finish all the decorating and cleaning.â
You shut the door with your hip as Jungkook makes his way around the car, locking it with care as he balances the box in his hands.Â
âOf course, it was on my way. Plus, we have thirty minutes to relax before people start showing up.â
Using your foot to open your front door wider, you allow Jungkook to enter first and then follow him in. Setting the hot food on a platter, you turn your oven on to warm so that everything stays fresh and ready to eat once the guests arrive. Jungkook sets the cake in your fridge above the case of beer, and you can hear him double check the front door is shut properly before he returns to join you in the living room.
Youâre leaning over the far end of the couch, searching for your charger cord. âYou know, I really should invest in one of those six-foot-long cords, this one is always disappearing.â
âYou know, that dress is really short, babe.â
âYeah, but I really like how it looks on me. If I start flashing people, let me know and Iâll put on some shorts or something.â Youâve almost got the charger in your grasp, satin-like cord slipping through your index and middle finger multiple times. The heat of Jungkookâs body pressing into you is both welcoming and pleasant, but one glance at the watch on your wrist and you know you donât have a lot of time. âJungkook!â
âCâmon, how am I supposed to resist this perfect ass when youâve got it up in the air for me.â Jungkook leans back, replacing his body with his hands, firmly massaging your exposed cheeks. âI can be quick.â
âPeople will be here in like fifteen minutes, we donât have enough time!â You move away from him, climbing off the couch and going to the kitchen counter. Youâre sure you have another cord there that you can plug your phone into.
âWhat do you mean? Thatâs plenty of time for me to get you off.â Jungkook follows you, not giving you much space as you lean over the counter.
âAnd what about you?â you say as you turn to face him, finally having grasped a cord to plug your phone into, the connecting sound chiming off.
âWhat about me?â he says, leaning into you for a quick kiss. âI donât have to cum right now, I know youâre good for it.â He ducks his head and kisses you again, this time pressing his body into you.
You return the kiss, and you donât stop his hands as they travel up your thighs to get to your thong. He wastes no time in pulling it down, and once the waistband slackens he lets it fall the rest of the way to the floor, his fingers moving deftly to part your folds.
âCanât believe you tried to act like you didnât want me,â he mumbles against your lips about the way youâre already wet when his fingers make contact.
ââCause there isnât a lot of timeââ
He cuts you off with his mouth, kissing you hard until he feels you melt in his hold. You hear the rustling of his pants; the sound of the fabric and the distinct zip of his jeans as his free hand tackles his clothes. His fingers leave your core briefly, and you open your eyes as he pulls back from the kiss. Following his gaze, you take in the sight of his glistening fingers applying your slick essence to his shaft.Â
âTurn around,â he orders, and you follow his instructions. Youâre not prepped like he usually makes sure you are, but sometimes itâs fun this way, even feels good, the pain mixing with the pleasure as he splits you wide. You feel the head of his cock as it slips through your folds and then the pressure as he penetrates your opening, thick cock stretching you open.
âSo tight, fuck,â Jungkook growls out, and he continues to push his hips into you until he bottoms out. You feel yourself clenching, walls contracting around the intrusion as you grow accustomed to his size.Â
âPlease, Ggukkieâmove.â
Jungkook sighs with relief at your request, pulling out of you just to slam back in, fucking you hard into the counter. You grasp at the edges of the counter, searching for purchase as you slide along the cool countertop. He never lets up, only picking up speed as you leak more after he adds his fingers to the mix, index finger spelling something along your clit as he pounds you.Â
Pressed up against the counter like this, you place your cheek flat to the surface, the cool temperature helping to calm your heated skin. Jungkook leans over you, and you welcome the closeness as he kisses at your neck, sucking lightly when you mewl at a sensitive spot.
âFe-feels so good. Donât stop.â Your eyes are squeezed shut, feeling the tightening coil building, and youâre so close now that heâs found the rhythm and is hitting your spot exactly how you like. âKiss me.â
His lips find yours easily in the position, but the kiss is sloppy; Jungkookâs always liked it wet and messy. Likes you wet and messy. Youâre close, and the sound of your doorbell ringing should make you freezeâshould make you push Jungkook away from you so you can clean yourself upâbut knowing someone is standing just outside your front door while Jungkook defiles you only a few steps away?Â
âFuck, babe, thatâs it, cum all over my cock.â
Jungkook shivers as you stifle a moan, and as impatience rings your doorbell for a second time, he slips out of your warm core and pushes you towards your bedroom.Â
âComing!â Jungkook calls out, grabbing a paper towel to dry himself before tucking back into his pants. He sees your discarded panties at the last second and pockets them before opening the front door to let in one of his coworkers, Kim Namjoon.Â
âHey man, come on in!â he greets, holding the door open as the Fellowship Doctor steps through the entryway. âJust finishing the last touches, let me wash my hands real quick, I was in the kitchen.â
You appear just as Namjoon passes the counter to enter the living room, and Jungkook canât help but notice all the ways heâs affected you. It just makes him want you more. He plans to have more of you later tonight, hence his backpack with a change of clothes for work in it.Â
He can see youâve fixed your hair, smoothed out your dress, but a small blossoming mark on your neck remains the only proof that he made you cum seconds before letting Namjoon into the room. The doorbell rings again, and you greet Leah and Yoongi graciously as you lead them into the main room.Â
Jungkook eyes your legs, wondering if you had enough time and sense to put on a pair of undiesâheâs hoping that you didnât.Â
As the room slowly fills with more guests, you and Jungkook orbit around each other, close enough to touch but avoiding contact for several reasons. His smirks and your desire-filled eyes speak loud enough for the both of you, though.Â
Hours pass, and the group is buzzed and happy after a drinking card game. You find yourself sitting on Jungkookâs lap, as there isnât enough sitting space for everyone to be comfortable. No one finds it weird thoughâyou and Jungkook have been close since college and with the alcohol flowing, no one notices the too long touches or the way his hand sits high on your thigh as you joke with Seokjin and Hoseok. No one pays any attention when he finds out that you did not replace the underwear burning a hole in his pocket.
âHyung, I finally have my outfit for Sunday,â Taehyung shares, calling across the living room to where Yoongi sits with Leah.Â
âThatâs good, I was worried you might show up naked.âÂ
Everyone laughs, and once it quiets down, Yoongi makes an announcement.Â
âIf any of you plan to bring a plus one, please let us know soon, so we can make sure our counts are right for Sunday.â
Murmurs go through the group, everyone confirming what theyâve already RSVPâd, but you stare at your brother. Your buzz disappears quickly as you wait for the man under you to agree that heâs not going with a plus one, but he shifts under you, not saying anything.Â
âCan I let you know tomorrow?âÂ
Yoongiâs eyes move from you to Jungkook as he answers him.
âYeah, that works. You deciding on bringing that girl you told us about?â
âYeah, Iâm sure SoHeeâs waiting on a reply,â Seokjin chimes in.Â
SoHee? As in school nurse SoHee? Your brother looks at you again as if to say âSee? I told you soâ.
âShut up, Jin-Hyung. I only said I might invite her. Iâll text you tomorrow.âÂ
Everyone returns to their conversations, but a silence settles around your corner of the couch as both you and Jungkook read a little too much into what each otherâs actions mean.
