sleep is such a scam for people with adhd.
lets go to sleep. but it will take you 30 minutes. is something wrong? oh, your positions uncomfy? well then, go change it. oops! you just lost half the sleep fuel you were saving up. oh, are you too sweaty? you might wanna do something about that. promise it wont take too much sleep meter to shuffle your blanket around a bit. oops! just drained some more. wanna remember that cringey thing you did when you were 10? yeahhh. hey. hey. hey. hey you. yeah you. i have something to tell you. you have to pee. and once youre done... oops! back to ground zero!!!!!!!!

I think they really missed an opportunity when will was sleep walking for Hannibal to say something like “ Oh, I guess you have to stay here tonight so that I can keep an eye on you” or “ Oh, I guess you have to let me hold you while you sleep to make sure you don’t end up walking somewhere dangerous”

"omg you get to nap all day"
I literally can't control it, I'm so tired and fatigued by doing anything in the day time that I have to nap even of it doesn't really make me less tired.

Your era's obsession with the unscientific nonsense called "sleep hygiene" comes from a capitalistic work ethic, not actual sleep science. Sleep problems associated with chronic illness can't be so easily managed away and are not "all in your head". emojis: black heart, blue heart, masked

Right, I’m really curious. Do any other neurodivergent people (esp ADHD/autism) have weird dreams? I’m talking mostly negative ones, where nightmare scenarios happen, but mainly long and bizarre, often with fully fleshed out storylines, characters, and plot. I have found some studies linking ADHD to more negative dreams, but it was in children only, and didn’t talk about how bizarre and vivid they are. I’ve always been told my dreams are wacky or that I should write books from the storylines in my dreams. I’m wondering if anyone else has a similar experience?

"Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic" is a wonderful phrase because it's immensely evocative by virtue of being very clear and concise about what it actually means. The Titanic is sinking. It doesn't matter how you arrange the deck chairs. Your quibbling/proposed solution is irrelevant to the problem at hand, to the point of practically being unrelated. In fact, not only is it irrelevant, it will effectively be undone as the problem we're facing proceeds. The Titanic is going to tilt 30-45 degrees as it sinks, so the deck chairs will slide away from where you're putting them! Even if the deck did remain level and the deck chairs didn't float away when it sank, the deck will be underwater, meaning no one will be able to sit in them! I am very sleep-deprived.

Have you ever had a sleepwalker attend Hampton? If so how did you deal with that?
We have had epic snoring! We have guys with CPAP! We have crazy insomniacs! We have had sleep talkers! We have even had a bed wetter! But honestly I cannot remember a sleep walker!
Since you are locked in a f#####g cell, you aren't going to go anywhere.
I guess this is my solution if you have a sleepwalker with a cellmate!!!

hello 👀 may i interest you in a little headcanon of mine
considering how random and frequent Silver’s sleep attacks are, he’s almost definitely experienced sleep paralysis at some point. imagine him trying to describe it to Lilia and it scaring the shit out of him 😭
Oh, that is interesting! Imagine this happens when Silver is young, and Lilia is unaware anything is wrong, thinking Silver’s just sleeping. Then, the boy wakes up in a panic. If Lilia has no idea what’s happening, he may think someone is trying to attack Silver in his sleep. Which leads to another subset of fears.

Sleep Paralysis
So I had sleep paralysis for the first time in ages this morning, I use to get it a lot.
Anyways I'm laying there frozen while being tormented by a sleep paralysis demon who is known as "The Body Part Collector". He had his favourite parts of his victims stitched into his face and all over his body, dude must have had like 100+ teeth sewn around his mouth. He even had a whistle made out of someone's nasal cartilage.
The whole time this thing was tormenting me, all I could think about was "why can't my sleep paralysis demons look like Muzan Kibutsuji??" 😂😭
Now I feel kinda of bad berating this sleep paralysis demon 😭 but he had it coming lol.
My partner snapped me out of my sleep paralysis by booping my face 😂 apparently I woke him up trying to swear at this thing 😂😭
