Sorry I’m a bit late posting this, I just got back from watching ATSV.  It’s just as good and everyone has been shouting about and I don’t know why it took me so long to getting around to watching the movies.  Anyway, on to the fics!

The Only by pasdecoeur  (Superbat, complete.  Felt like being a little sad, so I read this fic again.  Bittersweet, read the tags.)

how many roads less traveled? by TopHat  (Superwonderbat, complete.  Polyamory negotiations between the trinity.  Very sweet, features ace Bruce.)

Courage by LemonadeGarden  (Batfam, complete.  Bruce has a run in with fear toxin and Dick helps him deal with it.)

Stuck in the Middle (With You) by TheResurrectionist  (Superbat and Batfam, complete.  A re(re)read for me, I needed some good humor.  Damian gets stuck and Dick calls for help.  Shenanigans ensue.)

Jesus Is Not A Zombie by Sadsnail  (uuuuhhhhh, bible fic?  I blame @beachcat0772 , she posted this in our friend server and told me to read it.  It’s just crack fic, but GOOD crack fic 😆)

They had a pastry with lemon curd on it, I couldn’t resist!

It was so rainy this morning!  It pretty much rained the entire time I was birding.  Got so cool pictures though!

The baby geese, they are growing up!  They are looking more and more like adult geese everyday:

Wasn’t able to get a good picture of this guy, but it’s a brown thrasher!  This is the second time I’ve seen him running around the area:

Look at this funky lil’ guy!  A grackle!  They were so fun to watch:

There were SO MANY swallows out flying around.  They kept flying around me, they were so much fun to watch!  And they’re SO PRETTY too.  I tried to take some pictures of them in flight, but it’s SO HARD.  This one is ok, I need to practice more.  This guy is a barn swallow:

This is also a red-winged blackbird, but a female!  She caught breakfast!  This is probably my favorite picture I took today:

When I got to the arboretum, some tree swallows were flying around!  Here are the best pictures I got of them midflight:

There’s also a big flock of goldfinches that hangout here too!  I thought this guy looked handsome:

This white-breasted nuthatch was having fun hopping around on this tree:

OMG.  I didn’t realize this until I got home, but these are juvenile eastern bluebirds!!  Wow!!!

This has a parent and a baby!!  Holy moly!!

An indigo bunting in the rain.  I think my lens was starting to fog up:

and this (came out about: HMMM its giving me early 2000s like early early 2002 but correct me if im wrong) like I remember round cd players like this but also to be fair we had flip phones until 2018 so we were behind ig

(also fun detail from stakes the song marceline sings with two bread tom is from a sit com that ran from 1985 to 1990 as well)

also if hes doing an exhibit about the 1990s they already happened

Also fionnas phone is from 2000 so 2000 happened and made phones

So yeah like a lot of ppl i think the mushroom war took place in the 2000s and betty and simon probably met in the early 1990s maybe even late 1980s if we think abt it hooray her headphones also give early 1990s

BUT IM NOT DONE

The average age for a grad student in the us is 33 so lets say they are in their late 20s early 30s when they meet in 1993 (im just making stuff up now) im gonna say shes 27 or 28 since its implied she is Currently a grad student and im ignoring marcys scrapbook because that will never make sense) and hes already graduated that and is doing a phd okay so say hes 30 more or less in 1993

If a person is 30 in 1993 that means they were born in 1963 and in 2003 they would be forty so simon and marcy would take place in 2010 if hes approx 47 and marceline is 7 she would have been born exactly in 2003 when the war and apocalypse happened which yknow my maths and estimates not great but i think is interesting anyway. Im gonna say he puts on the crown in the year 2000 and betty also disappears into the future in 2000

Also if betty is 28 (born 1965) when they meet plus 7 years means she is 35 when she goes into the future and 37 in come along with me

also if finn is 16 when elements takes place and shes on mars all through to temple of mars that means she spends a year on mars more or less and about 2-3 years in the future/ooo

If simon reverts back to before the crown that would make him 40 lets say and 52 in fionna and cake

Also if simon puts on the crown in 2000 and he leaves marceline when she is 11-10 years old it takes him approx 14 years to get to that point which is just interesting but also sad

more fun things

996 years from 2010 is 3006

finn is born 2992 (if he is 14)

also shermy and beth (if its 1000 years from 3009) would take place in 4009 making marceline 2006 years old by that point

I'd have been much less intimidated by the idea of writing poetry if I'd known that all you have to do is:

Find a cooler way to say it

#plus there are pre-made (yet totally optional) cool formats that make writing feel like solving a puzzle! #it also helps that i don't expect any of these to be good #so i can just throw words down and be pleasantly surprised if any of them sound good #this is also a good exercise for my easily-distracted brain #instead of thinking up an image or idea or vibe and saying 'i should create a story that can use that' #the image/vibe/idea can be the whole project! #nice change of pace #adventures in writing #poetry

Tim, Jason, Dick and Damian arguing, their voices over-lapping each other.

Stephanie joining in: okay so the book opens up to Stepan bringing his wife a pear and she starts confronting him on his affair. I can’t remember her name right now-

Jason: Because it’s relevant information! - her name was Dolly - and if you would -

Jason stops talking and stares at Stephanie as she continues.

Steph: thank you- and meanwhile she has a sister named Katie who has just come of marriage age. So she’s like 18 right? and Stepan has a friend who wants to marry her and he’s like in his 30s, which ew, but also-

Me writing for exercise:

Stephanie Brown couldn’t say she was surprised to find the four arguing, she had fallowed the raised voice into the kitchen. She was also not surprised to quickly realized that the raised voices were arguing over nothing.

No, seriously nothing!

It was complete nonsense as Dick seemed to be defending his right as a “decent cook,” and Tim was complaining about the others hiding his coffee beans. Jason and Damian seemed to be having an actual argument but it was over the best way to effectively stab someone.

Well, Steph shrugged, might as well join in. “Okay so the book opens up to Stepan bringing his wife a pear, but she starts confronting him on his affair and he admits to multiple, I can’t remember the wife’s name right now-“

Jason, mid rant to the youngest Robin (who was also mid-sentence) answers,”Her name was Dolly for short - speaking of short, it’s no wonder you can’t angle the knife right!” The left side of his face appears to spasm before he stands up a little straighter, and quietly turns to face the still rambling blond.

Steph, on a roll, continues, “Dolly! Right! Well she has a sister! Katie has just come of marriage age, so she’s like 18 right? Well Stepan has a friend who wants to marry her and he’s like in his 30s, which ew, but also-“

Damian, having realized that Jason was no longer entertaining him, turned to see what had shifted Todd’s attention. He watched as the older girl continued, getting more animated.

“-there’s the name sake of the book Anna Karenina and her lover Vronsky. Who has the same first name - Alexei- as her husband. Like that’s just wild.”

Dick, who paused for breath during his speech of “why I should be allowed in the kitchen again” forgot what he had been about to say. Instead he asked, “wait did she call them both Alexei?”

Steph looked over, “No, she only called them both by their last names but that might have been a cultural thing or something? I don’t know! Anyways, the point-“

“No,” Jason interrupted, “she did call them both by their first name but the narrator went by last names so the reader could differentiate.” Stephanie waved her hands, “shhh, not the point, as I was saying!”

Tim, who had stopped talking right after the other teenager had joined the fray, chimed in, “you know you’re missing so many central themes. Did you mean to come in here and give us a water downed briefing of Anna Karenina?”

It was silent as Steph answered, “no, but you all were going on about meaningless things so why couldn’t I?”

“Anyway, Anna is still married, has a son, and now she’s pregnant.”

Dick gasped.

oh yeah forgot to share but yesterday I FINALLY BEAT RINGFIT AFTER MORE THAN A YEAR LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO (and nearly passed out fighting the final boss lmao)

Honestly, Ringfit is such an underrated gem of a game, when I first started borrowing it from a friend I never expected it would become a nearly daily routine for me and yet here we are. The amount of care and thought put into this game shows and I can't be thankful enough that it exists.

If you're looking for a way to exercise even just lightly in a fun and engaging way and you have a Switch then please get this game it's so worth it

Can't wait to go into ng+ :)

Her comfort zone is always growing, despite us passing some dogs and/or people occasionally, and when she feels like she "owns" the area you can note her tail. It's something she always does when we come back inside for a walk, the tail whips back and forth high up like "im the fuckin queen here". Just before going around the corner, I asked my bf "she's jogging so nice, do you think she'll whip her tail when we go around?" and she did 😍
