year six.
“are you stupid?”
your hands are frozen to the touch, barely able to grasp the doorknob when his voice comes from nowhere at all.
you almost don't notice it when satoru opens the door. you have to blink to focus on him, but by the time you do, you're already falling against the empty space in front of you.
satoru is quick to catch your arm, righting you before you break your nose on the hardwood.
“that’s my line,” you tell him, slightly coughing--it sends shocks down your spine and you shiver. you shake his hand off of you, trying to walk forward, but there's a wall of a man standing there. you blink at him. "hey, satoru. would you mind moving?”
“i could smell the blood from down the block,” he says, his voice rougher than usual, completely still. “what did you do?”
you roll your eyes, waving a hand (even though it makes you a bit woozy). “there’s no way you could smell that. it’s not even that bad.”
“it’s dripping down your shirt.”
you pout, looking down. "i just washed this, too.”
it is a lot of blood, you realize suddenly. you would definitely get some looks if you were walking down the street in public.
still, you don't feel all that banged up. it's not really your fault that you were slightly distracted when that curse snuck up on you... or at least, you're pretty sure it's not.
satoru, shaking his head--maybe finally realizing that you're fine--moves out of the way, holding the door open for you. "what did you do?"
you step through, using the wall to keep you steady. “how do you know i did anything?”
you finally look at satoru, even though he's fading from your eyeline, in and out of focus. he's not wearing his blindfold or his glasses, and he's got a frown that rivals one of megumi's at the moment.
it makes you laugh, just a little, as you try to shake the shoes from your feet.
he was probably sleeping, you think. usually, you'd probably feel... at least slightly bad. but right now? you don't even care.
you're just happy to see him, right in front of you like your own personal greeting card. you've only been gone a day, but satoru feels much further away than that.
especially with his frown and his furrowed eyebrows. he's in a mood, you remember, frowning.
“why are you bleeding, y/n?”
you cough again, tapping his chest as you move past him. “jeez, lighten up, satoru. i’m good,” you say this as you limp down the hallway, wincing with every step.
you don't get to watch satoru's eye roll, but it takes less than a second for an arm to wrap under your shoulders, satoru forcing your weight onto him, and he practically carries you through the house until you reach the kitchen, where he sets you on the countertop.
he's looking at you like you're a fragile baby bird.
and he doesn't bother to ask--of course he doesn't--before he lifts your shirt from your abdomen, it slightly sticking (due to the blood) before it rolls up.
satoru's eyes widen as he inspects you. "woah," he whispers, paling just a little bit.
you don't look down with him--because that's a terrible idea--but you watch satoru.
you can barely feel it, actually. it's basically just a minor cut, nothing too--
you try not to gasp when satoru presses a finger near your ribs, not directly touching the wound, but far too close to it. it would be embarrassing to double over in pain, wouldn't it?
“is it bad?” you wonder, breathlessly, feeling a bit light-headed.
satoru’s head snaps up, “you didn’t look?”
“i was a bit distracted. the curse wasn't gracious enough to give me the chance to grab a couple of bandaids, the bastard."
“how did you even manage to do this?”
your eyes trail down unconsciously, but all you can see is your bunched-up shirt--drenched in blood. yeah, you'll probably have to burn it.
satoru is looking up and down, his face entirely disgusted, nose scrunched up and eyes avoiding your own.
it makes you laugh a little--because you're very familiar with satoru and his opposition to anything humanly--which then makes you wince with him.
it doesn't hurt that bad, really.
“can you get the first aid kit?” you ask him, pushing his hands away from you and your cut. but as soon as satoru isn't right there to lean on, you begin to tilt forward.
satoru immediately resumes his position as your pillar. “are you kidding? i’m calling shoko.”
“i know how to do stitches, satoru. it’s late.”
“you need, like, a stomach replacement for that.”
you roll your eyes, leaning even further into him. at least when you're pressed up against his chest, you don't have to breathe. “you’re so dramatic.”
satoru is still frowning. “doesn’t that hurt?”
“nope,” you lie, sitting up and pushing his hands away again. “i’m running on adrenaline. it’s not that deep, anyway.”
he gives you a hard look.
you sigh. “what’s wrong with you? you can drop the act.”
“what act?”
“the ‘i’m the caretaker’ act.”
“what if i came home with a hole in my stomach?" satoru's jaw is clenched. "what would you do?”
“i can't think about hypotheticals right now, satoru,” you whine. “please get the first aid kit?”
“should i get megumi too? might as well teach him how to stitch you up, he's getting to that age, you know.”
“funny,” you say, dryly. “do you want me to bleed out on our counter, or…?”
satoru sighs, but he walks out of the kitchen a moment later. hopefully to save you from dying.
you exhale, feeling your chest tighten. you can't feel much, for the most part. but then there's that feeling every couple of seconds, a memory of the whole thing playing out-- except your head is fuzzy, and everything looks sort of… colorful right now.
you can’t even remember how you got here. or the last time a curse managed to actually injure you.
it feels a bit juvenile, really.
especially because you’re in no position to be taking care of yourself—but in no world would you wake up shoko in the middle of the night for this. in no world would you wake up anyone, except for satoru, to deal with you, with your blood and your stubbornness.
god, you hate pain. you hate having to wash blood out of your clothes, and you hate sitting here by yourself.
you slump down. only seconds have gone by, but it feels like so much more than that. the wound burns, you think, in an unnatural way.
you probably got poisoned and you're probably going to die and satoru is going to stomp on your grave, and--
“do we even have enough gauze to cover that up?” satoru is asking you when he walks back in. he's wearing nothing but a t-shirt and shorts, you realize, watching him.
his eyes are stern, focused, and the rest of him is morose. you should be able to gaze at him, to stare--but you can't because your vision has spots in it, and everything about satoru is too hard right now.
he’s been like this for days. casual but stuck—like he can’t find it in him to laugh about anything. his face has been a field of lines, with no breaks in between, and his eyes have been greyer than they should be, a sort of dim color that you hate.
satoru's eyes are wild, usually. they are blue fires and the vast expanse of the universe.
but not right now, when he's looking at you like this. and not this week--because he's barely been looking at you at all.
and it's unfortunate not just because you miss him, but because you're not as good at casting it all away as he is. you can't shove things aside and make light out of the darkest situations.
you can't fill his role, and yet you keep trying to.
it's an inevitable cycle of failing and never being enough.
“i’ll just cut up your shirt if there’s not enough,” you tell him, putting on a smile so he can’t tell how badly you want to start crying.
is this real pain, you wonder, or a dream?
“use your own shirts.”
you pout. “but yours are the best quality.”
satoru rolls his eyes, again, and begins to wipe off all of the well-used tools you have. a needle you've had for years, stolen from jujutsu high, and thread you can't remember taking.
“what are you doing?” you try to grab the instruments from his hands, clumsily, almost cutting yourself again in the process.
satoru is quick to hold them away, keeping them up and out of your reach. not that you were going to try very hard anyway.
“i’m going to stitch you up," he says, like he's scolding you.
“you don’t know how.”
“please,” satoru scoffs, shaking his head. he gets a cloth wet under the facet, and then holds it towards you. “i probably learned how to do this before you were even born."
“when you were nine months old?”
“clean it.”
you listen, holding the cloth to your wound and still not looking down. it feels sort of ticklish, and also like you're being tortured.
“you don’t have to,” you tell satoru after a moment, breathing through the nausea that comes with the pain. “i know you’re squeamish around blood.”
“i am not squeamish.”
you grin at him. “sure.”
satoru looks up, and finally, his face relaxes, just a little bit. you can even see the workings of a smile on his mouth—the first you’ve gotten in days.
he shakes his head. “i’ll be fine. sit up.”
“seriously,” you say, again, catching his hand just as he’s about to touch you. “i can do it.”
“seriously, i’m not letting you. your hands are shaking.”
you look down, releasing his wrist. “oh.”
“yeah, oh.”
satoru kneels so he can see your cut properly, his face narrowed in concentration. you focus on him as he touches the tender skin by the wound, featherlight fingertips trailing across your skin.
you shiver and apologize under your breath.
he hasn't been this close in days.
“does it hurt now?” he asks you, voice so quiet that it almost echoes through the house.
“not really,” but you look up towards the ceiling. somehow you know it’s going to be worse if you watch.
“i can call—“
“no, satoru. i already told you, if you don’t want to do it then i—“
“okay, i’m doing it. i’m doing it.”
you close your eyes when he punctures your skin, waiting for the feeling to subside. it's just a prick, but you still have to think about getting the mail, going to the store, taking a shower after this, or maybe just crawling out from your own skin and becoming a spirit.
but satoru seems to recognize this, maybe from your face, and he asks, “what kind of curse was it?”
“dunno?” you breathe out, mapping a picture on the ceiling in your mind.
“what do you mean?”
“i can't remember.”
satoru looks up. “what?”
“it’s all a blur,” you say, wanting to shove his hands off of you. you've been trained to kick people away, so it's really not your fault. “i think i won though.”
“i don’t think this is winning.”
“keep going,” you tell him, instead of arguing. “i’m fine.”
satoru tsks but does as you say, resuming the smooth movements of suturing. any normal day, you'd probably want to watch his hands work, want to inspect his job and make fun of him for the way he holds his breath while looking at an open wound.
“how were the kids?” you ask him, after a moment.
satoru breathes out, nodding. his hair is messy, his face slightly wrinkled from sleeping still. “they missed you.”
“it was only a day. did megumi get that book report back yet? he was worried about it before i left, but i told him—“
“i missed you.”
you look down, forgetting about pain or blood. “what?”
“i miss you,” he says, this time, like it’s any different. satoru keeps his eyes down, his hands moving. but there's a guilty look on his face--something that tells you he didn't mean to say anything.
“satoru…”
“are you still mad at me?”
you tilt your head. “mad? why would i be mad at you?”
“you haven’t been coming to bed,” satoru answers, obviously.
your eyes widen. “satoru—“ and there’s a sharp pain in your side.
“sorry,” he murmurs, softly, at your flinch.
“i’m not mad at you,” you tell him, trying not to double over. your voice is high-pitched and breathy. you feel like a child—ridiculous and foolish—but it doesn’t stop you from speaking. “i was never mad at you.”
“you weren't?”
“you asked me for space. i was just giving it to you.”
satoru pauses, looking up at you.
“i… i didn’t want to push you into talking to me. i thought—i don’t know, that maybe things had changed. i mean, we don’t have to…” you wince, and it’s not because of the pain this time. “to sleep together. or in the same room. if you don’t want that anymore—“
“no."
"no what?"
he shakes his head. "i want that."
“satoru, you’re not going to hurt my feelings—“
“i was wrong," he cuts in, voice rough. you don't think you've ever heard him say those words before. "i don’t want space, i never did.”
you blink at him, brows furrowing. “then why did you…”
“i—“ he stops. looks around. “does it hurt?”
and you know, just as you know most things about satoru, that he can't continue. that the truth is going to cut just a little bit too deep--deeper than your injury--and he can't bring himself to say it.
so you only take another deep breath, pushing away the feeling of your skin being patched back together, and nod.
“a little,” you say softly.
an unspoken understanding passes between the two of you, and breathing gets a little bit easier all of a sudden.
maybe it wasn't the pain. maybe it was just the tension, the build-up of days apart.
it makes sense, even to your slightly fogged-over mind.
and then the two of you sit there while satoru patches you up, sharing a glance every couple of seconds—a glance with so many words, so tender and feeling that it succeeds in making you even dizzier. blood loss has nothing on the way satoru makes you feel.
you can't see his hands--don't dare to--but you can feel the softness of them, the care he's taking in stitching you up.
if it were any day, you would laugh at him for it. but right now, you just accept it. bask in it.
“how’s that feel?” satoru whispers to you, after he’s tied it off and wiped the blood from your skin.
you don't bother to look down. really, you don't want to see the freshly sutured line on your abdomen, but also, you just want to keep looking at him.
it's much more gratifying, at least.
“good," you say, voice stronger, easier. "is it going to scar?”
satoru scoffs. “if you wanted untouched skin then we should’ve called shoko—“
“shut up,” you interrupt. “i’m not listening to the medical advice of someone who’s never gotten a scratch in his life.”
“i let you scratch me.”
“well, obviously, i’m the exception,” you smile at him, exhausted and sweaty and still a little out of it—but home. with him.
and this time satoru actually smiles back.
it’s a bizarre thing, his smile. the first one you’ve gotten in days and it wakes you up immediately. almost like realizing you’ve been in the dark for weeks, just getting a glimpse of the light.
he's a peek into something more--unearthly. if the closest thing you get to divinity is satoru, then you won't complain.
“you okay?” you ask him, but you’re only teasing.
“that’s my line,” he says.
“you sure?”
satoru leans towards you, forehead against yours. “i’m sure.”
you sit there for a moment. satoru is usually the one clinging to you, but tonight you feel like if he moves away you might never get him back.
so you sit there, make sure to hold him to you, secure with your hands wrapped around his biceps, his arms grazing against yours as he leans against the counter.
you're probably a mess right now--your skin stained with blood that shouldn't be outside your body, your face covered in dirt, your hair and clothes drenched in sweat and rain. but satoru doesn't seem to mind, so you don't think about it too hard.
he deserves it, at least, for making ridiculous assumptions. you have to get him back somehow, after all.
after a minute, or two, or maybe even three, you clear your throat. “great. i’m alive, you’re… less annoying than usual. let’s go to bed.”
“‘less?’” satoru gapes at you, but his laughter is unmistakable.
“yeah, i know," you say, feigning shock, "i was surprised too.”
he flicks your forehead but you’re still smiling at him.
“okay,” satoru whispers, leaning back. “bedtime.”
you rub at the spot around your wound one more time, already feeling the days of sore skin and itchy muscles, and then you push satoru so you can hop off of the counter.
“hey,” he says, suddenly, stopping you. his voice is quick, almost lost. but his hands wrap around your wrists, keeping them between the two of you so you can't escape. and satoru's eyes are on your face, flickering between the different points of your skin, looking like he's just realized that he's lost something.
you raise a brow, but don't push back against his chest or try to pry his hands away. “what?”
satoru swallows, still watching you.
his eyelashes are long enough to touch his skin, and his eyes are blue enough to take up the whole world. you want to grin at the saturation of him--so much brighter than you've seen him in days--but you refrain. you don't want to scare him away.
but you're not so eager to move. it's easy to wait on satoru, really--to wait for his words, to let him collect his thoughts--because you've only spent nine years studying his face. you've only admired the slope of his nose and the tilt of his chin since you were sixteen, and there's much more to be discovered.
so staring at him is simple. especially when there's so much to look at.
you have plenty of unmarked territory you need to take over.
you keep a slight smile on your face while you wait, and eventually, satoru groans, hanging his head back.
“what?” you repeat, laughing just a little.
“can you stop looking at me like that?”
“like what?” you nudge your head against his chin, and satoru glares at you.
“i’m trying to be serious.”
“oh, okay,” you try to push away your smile, but you can't. it's glued where it is. “i’m serious.”
“you’re not.”
“what is it, satoru? i’m listening.”
his eyes meet yours, again, and you almost flinch.
everything about satoru is forceful, except for the way he looks at you. the way his eyes relax, his entire face falling when you're both eye to eye. it's a look you've only observed on one person, in only one particular moment.
and, you think, all of a sudden, it might be your favorite look.
but you're still fed up with waiting. you're tired of his consideration, his contemplative eyes. you want satoru back--with his ridiculous laughter and stupid jokes. you want him irritating the sanity out of you and simultaneously bringing you to life.
you don't tell him that though, because in this moment you'll take what you can get.
any version of satoru is better than none at all. you’ve learned that the hard way.
“hey,” he says, one more time. his smile is unusual, a frightened little thing. “i love you.”
you freeze.
your face falls flat, thinking of the words in a million different ways. you might've misheard him--but you're so locked in on him that it seems impossible.
at once, you consider exactly what he means, so many different variations of the same thing.
does he love you like your parents did, always too much but never enough?
does he love you like you love megumi and tsumiki—like your life depends on it? like you’d be wrecked without them?
or does satoru love you like you love him? does he love you like it’s breathing? like there’s never been a choice in the matter?
but, it's simple. a beat passes, three seconds of contemplation--just enough for the words to ring true throughout your body.
the way he’s looking at you is enough to answer any question you have.
satoru loves you like a promise, and nothing less.
“you idiot,” you say, a sudden, day-breaking smile on your face. “don’t you think i know that?"
*
"should we wake them up?" tsumiki asks, walking up behind megumi, staring down at you both. she's rubbing her eyes, her hair slightly messy.
megumi considers it for a moment.
neither of them have woken up like this in a while. you and gojo are getting better at falling asleep in bed instead of on the couch.
but, at this point, megumi thinks that it's probably a habit. or just to annoy him.
gojo's face is shoved into your chest and your hands are tangled in his hair. the both of you have silly smiles on your faces, and seriously. how do you both manage to fall asleep in such uncomfortable positions.
"no," megumi whispers, yawning. "i can make breakfast. mom probably got home pretty late."
"okay," tsumiki says, still staring.
megumi rolls his eyes and walks away. honestly, what did he do to deserve getting two idiots for parents?

Tumblr media
when you were first introduced to the zenin clan, you were shy. your father and the head of the zenin family were close, the alliance going as far back to the early 1920’s.
Tumblr media
you didn’t ask any questions and like the good and dutiful daughter you were, accepted from the age of 16 that you would be married into their family. you didn’t have any complaints, your parents and older brothers and sisters were always good to you and you felt honoured that your father had chosen you and not one of your sisters.
now, at 23, you were to be married to one of the sons who would rightfully take over the family business as soon as his grandfather passed on.
toji zenin
just looking at him made you squirm. he was big and intimidating and his smile made you feel like he was in on a joke that you didn’t get. still, he was beyond handsome so you had no complaints.
he was always soft with you, different from how aggressive you’ve seen him be to just about anyone else.
“come sit with me baby” he chuckles, watching you leaning awkwardly against the door to his private home office.
“are you busy?” you ask, walking around the large desk to stand next to his chair.
“never too busy for my wife” he smirks, pulling you to sit on his lap. he kisses your temple and then your cheek as he wraps his arm around you.
you can tell that he is actually busy. he has his laptop open and there are stacks of money packed in neat piles on the floor next to his desk.
“couldn’t sleep?” he asks, rubbing your arms softly. it wasn’t necessarily cold in his office but it was cold in the house and the big bed felt empty without your husband.
“not without you” you admit and he laughs. it’s not to mock you, he never makes you feel stupid for your feelings despite everyone telling you how mean and rude he was. you didn’t care, he treated you just fine.
“i’m sorry sweetheart” he sighs, “i’m almost done here”
“toji…” you say, trailing off. you’ve been thinking about this for a month now and you weren’t sure if he was just being nice or if he was just keeping you around to save face.
“what is it?” he asks, turning his laptop off to give you his full attention. he did feel bad for not sleeping with you but he was a busy man and he was still a newlywed. he wasn’t sure how to handle these things all at once.
“i just… do you not want me?” you ask, frowning slightly. you don’t mean to sound so desperate but you were married after all and he hadn’t even…
“what, where is this coming from?” he asks and he seems confused. he turns you in his lap so he can see your face. you really were so cute when you looked so shy.
“you haven’t tried to touch me” you pout, “i know you’re far more experienced than i am but i thought you’d —”
“y/n” he cuts you off, cupping your face gently, “i’ve wanted to fuck you since we were teens”
“hey!”
he laughs, kissing you. you really were the sweetest thing.
“i know you’re a virgin, i would never want to force you into anything unless you’re ready” he says, “and besides”
you look into his eyes and he’s smirking again.
“i’m big, i don’t wanna hurt you” he’s so smug and you’d slap him if you weren’t interested in finding out just how big.
you squirm in his lap, moving your hips against him and he grabs your waist.
“watch it” he narrows his eyes, “i’ll take that as an invitation”
“take me to bed toji-san” you flatter your pretty lashes at him and his jaw clenches. he really couldn’t give a fuck about finishing any work tonight.
“mark your words baby” he warns, scooping you up and heading towards your bedroom.
you kiss his neck, sucking marks into it. you weren’t always like this but you’ve seen the way people look at him and even though he was all yours, you had no problem reminding them that toji was a married man. he was off the market. he was yours.
he grins, titling his head to the side to give you more access and you moan, biting down. he grunts, slapping your ass before laying you down gently on your expensive silk sheets.
“i didn’t know my wife was so slutty” he scoffs, pulling his sweater off in one swift motion. the way he looks standing over you, big and bulky has you squeezing your thighs together.
he licks his lips, pulling your legs apart and leaning down to kiss the inside of your thighs.
“let me get you nice and ready for me yeah?” he bites your thigh in retaliation from your own marking and you gasp, legs falling open wider.
your pretty silk panties are damp and he looks up at you with a smirk.
“that excited for me already baby?” he teases, just to see you try to cover your pretty face with your pillow.
he kisses the inside of your thighs, watching as goosebumps arise. you were so sensitive and he liked that a lot about you. he reaches up to pull your panties down, groaning at the sight of your pretty pussy glistening with your arousal.
you knew you were pretty, you’ve never doubted that but the way he looks at you, makes you feel so beautiful. you think your parents made the right choice when it came to toji.
he kisses your clit, earning a soft whimper from you. flattening his tongue against your pussy, he licks a long stripe from your slit to your clit, wrapping his lips around your sensitive bud as he slips a wet finger into your tight pussy.
his thick finger feels different from your own but it’s still so good, so much better than you even imagined and you find yourself moaning louder for him, grinding your pussy against his face.
he grins, adding another finger before scissoring you open. it hurts just a little but you don’t want him to stop, the pain doing nothing to stop the tingling sensation you’re feeling all over your body.
“feels good baby?” he asks, licking his lips as he watches you fall apart beneath him. it’s so sexy, the way you squeeze and pinch your nipples.
you look so disheveled and fucked out and it’s all for him. he feels his cock throb and twitch knowing he will be the only person to ever see you like this.
“i’m ready for you” you whine, “please, i want it”
he’s too weak to deny you anything and it should scare him but he can’t help the chuckle that leaves his mouth. a sweet thing like you had him wrapped around your finger and you probably didn’t even know that yet.
he strokes his cock a little, watching your eyes widen when you see just how big he is. you’ve never had sex before but you weren’t exactly innocent. you’ve seen porn and his dick was a lot bigger than the ones you used to see on your screen.
it has you unconsciously closing your legs.
“don’t hide from me sweetheart” he grins, “it’s all yours you know?”
he’s teasing you but he wasn’t wrong. all of toji belonged to you in the same way you were his.
he’s careful when he rubs his thick and veiny cock through your folds. you’re so wet and it helps ease the tension he felt. he would never hurt you unless you asked him to. he would do whatever you wanted.
“ready?” he asks, rubbing soothing circles into your hips as he leans down to kiss you softly.
“yeah” you gasp, “want you”
you’ve wanted him since you learned what it was like to please yourself. a silly teenager who didn’t know the first thing about sex aside from what you were taught.
he takes his time, pressing into you. the stretch shocks you and it’s almost enough to distract you from the pain but it does hurt. when his tip pops through, you cry out, eyes squeezing shut.
he kisses you gently, whispering praises as he slowly bottoms out. his eyes widen when he looks down and sees the blood. he’s about to pull out when you wrap around legs around him.
he can see you crying but you’re also smiling. he knows it must feel uncomfortable for you but he mirrors your sweet smile.
“you’re so big” you moan, moving your hips on your own and he bites the inside of his mouth. you’re so wet and tight and your velvety walls welcome him home like he belongs.
“don’t” he groans, “please baby, i need a moment”
he slides out slowly, watching your face for any discomfort. he knows how big he is, he’s always taken pride in his body and he can’t help but feel smug about your moans and whines.
he moans, thrusting back into you. he knew it would feel good but this is nothing like he could ever imagine. he doesn’t want to think about the women he’s been with before you.
he was arrogant when he was younger, refusing to get married to you or waiting. he feels like a piece of shit whenever he thinks about you and how loyal you’ve been, despite his reluctance in the beginning.
“more” you beg, gripping his bicep with the hand that wasn’t gripping the sheets below you. your nails make crescent moons in his skin and he knows it’ll leave marks. he hopes it bleeds too, he wants to feel you all over.
he picks up his pace, enjoying the way your moans get louder, the sound of skin slapping against skin is loud and he wonders if everyone in the house can hear you. he hopes so. you sounded so pretty, he would never get enough of you.
“i love you” he gasps, leaning down to kiss you. he feels you smile against his lips before you wrap your arms around his neck.
he slows down and he almost regrets it. he’s so close to busting his load when he hears you whine and then, “put a baby in me” you say, “fuck me full of your cum toji-san”
he bites your shoulder. he really needs to calm the fuck down. everything is so overwhelming and you’re just so perfect it makes him nervous.
he would be lying if he said he hasn’t thought about it. he’s fucked his fist to the idea of breeding you, stuffing your pussy with his cum until it leaks out but he wouldn’t stop, he’d keep going until you passed out.
“y/n” he warns, feeling your clench around him. you were playing a dangerous game and you clearly knew that. perhaps you did know the power you had over him.
“i want your cum” you plead, kissing his jaw and then his cheek, whispering right into his ear, “i wanna feel you for days, please”
he’ll make you regret messing with him like this.
“safe word” he whispers and he’s not sure why he’s even surprised when you don’t look confused or surprised. you smile so sweetly and oh so innocently up at him when you say,
“sōko”

Scaramouche:
A trip around Sumeru City was not what Scaramouche had planned to do that day when he offered to spend time together — of course, he couldn’t admit that what he really wanted was to go on a proper date, but he settled for this nonetheless. As long as you’re happy, he thought.
All day you had been pulling him around to various little shops and sights around the city. Even though many of them had existed for many years, you felt as though they were hidden gems amongst all of Teyvat. And with both of you originally being from Inazuma, neither of you had really had the chance to experience all of Sumeru together.
Scaramouche didn’t mind it to be honest — you dragging him around, to be specific. As soon as he saw that stupid big smile on your face, any ounce of resentment for his inability to communicate what he wants drained from his body. Naturally, he still put on the mask of boredom, but with you being your excited self bouncing around the city, you hadn’t even noticed. So he dropped the act, and just let himself live for once.
Just before the sun was about to set and conclude the day’s fun, your hand quickly grabbed his as you dragged him over to a flower shop. When you had first arrived in Sumeru, the very first thing you ever took notice of was all the different plants and flowers. And ever since, you’ve tried to get flowers or other little plants whenever you can.
Scaramouche picked up his pace to match yours, although still dragging a bit behind, his hand held on tight to yours. But as soon as you arrived at the front of the shop, your hand moved to the flowers and away from him. Quietly, he moved to the side and watched as you admired the flowers.
“Wow, these are so beautiful! Did you grow them yourself?” you excitedly asked the man at the shop. There were an array of bright and colorful flowers in front of you, each one carefully tied among others to create stunning bouquets.
The man, who appeared to be the shop owner, furrowed his brows and gave you a light scoff, “Pfft, of course I did.”
To that, Scaramouche snapped his eyes over at the man who hadn’t seemed to pay him any mind. His arms crossed over one another as he eyed the man, not pleased with his attitude, but not saying anything just yet. As Nahida had taught him, he can’t just go around accusing everyone of having malicious intent. So for once, he would wait and see, maybe give him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he was just having a bad day or something or didn’t mean to come across like that.
“Oh, Archons. Those vases are just as beautiful as the flowers. I saw some really pretty ones at another shop, but these are even better! You really have a good eye, sir!”
The man rolled his eyes and ignored your comment. Meanwhile, Scaramouche sent him a subtle glare from the other side of you. The guy was giving him a bad feeling that he just couldn’t seem to shake.
After a few more minutes of you pointing and beaming at different bouquets and individual flowers of all different kinds, compliments pouring out of you left and right, the man finally snapped.
“Would you just shut up already? I’ve had it up to here with how much you talk. You are so annoying, I mean my god, I get it! I have nice flowers and I’m a talented gardner, just pick some and go!” he yelled out, flaring his arms around the air.
“Screw what Nahida said,” Scaramouche grumbled.
In a split second, you were behind your boyfriend and his arm was held tightly onto the shop owner’s, “Are you done? Cause let me tell you, you have to be a real piece of shit to yell at someone who’s just excited about flowers.”
“Let me go, damn it!” He tried yanking back his arm, desperately trying to pull Scaramouche’s off of him. If only he had known he was messing with an ex-harbinger and a being created by a God.
Scaramouche spoke in a dangerously low tone, “You don’t get to talk to them like that, you hear me? Do it again, and I’ll ruin your fucking life.”
The man backed up quickly, hitting the side of his shop and falling backward. A few people stopped to snicker at him, but Scaramouche paid no mind. His hand slipped into yours and he eagerly pulled you away from the chaos.
He gagged and wiped the hand that grabbed the man against his shirt as the two of you walked to a quiet area, “People like that disgust me.”
You nodded quietly and sat down on the bench he had brought you to. His eyes filled concern for a brief moment before he blinked it away. Sighing, his hand squeezed yours and he nervously gulped, unprepared for situations that involved any form of comfort, “Are you…are you okay?”
“Yeah,” you spoke softly, not quite meaning it, “Thanks for sticking up for me back there.”
Gently, he pulled you into him, “Don’t listen to people like that, you hear me? The only annoying one out of the two of you was that ugly piece of shit. So don’t go all sad on me, okay? I mean it.”
Tumblr media
Xiao:
“Hello, my love!” you loudly called out at The Inn, happily marching in to greet him on the upper floor. A few people on the deck below looked up quickly, startled by your bold introduction.
Xiao nodded at you, a small blush on his cheeks and small, “Hi.” Even after nearly a year of dating, you still managed to fluster him.
Your arm looped around his, pulling him closer to you. You sent him a bright smile and tilted your head toward his, “Are you ready for our lunch date?”
Xiao nodded and moved your hand off his arm and down to his hand where he softly clasped his fingers around your own.
When you arrived at Liyue Harbor, the two of you began walking to your favorite restaurant. It was really nice with all the outdoor seating that allowed the both of you to enjoy the fresh breeze from the ocean while you ate. It also allowed Xiao to be more comfortable instead of being cramped up inside some restaurant with a bunch of people he was unfamiliar with.
If Xiao was being honest, the restaurant itself still was not something he particularly enjoyed. Not because he disliked the service or the other people who ate there, but because he wasn’t a huge fan of their food being an adeptus and all. However, you raved about it all the time and got super happy whenever you got the chance to go, especially if it was with him. Xiao could never bring himself to say he didn’t enjoy it when it made you so happy.
“So, have you done anything super interesting lately?” you excitedly asked your boyfriend, eagerly awaiting his weekly stories.
“Not really. I went to the Chasm recently, but I was unable to find what I was seeking,” he answered and nodded at you, “What about you?”
“I went to this really cute tea shop the other day with Yun Jin! You know, my friend from the opera we saw last year? They had the cutest cups and the tea was so good. We should go together some day!”
Xiao smiled ever so slightly as you spoke, not even focused on the food on his plate, but instead entirely focused on you, “That sounds nice.”
You went back and forth for around thirty more minutes, updating each other on the week, laughing about silly jokes you heard from Hu Tao, and talking about some future plans. Xiao had barely touched his food, but you hadn’t noticed with how caught up with him you were.
Nor had you noticed the snickering behind you.
“Oh my god, is that the Yaksha?”
“I think it is!”
“Woah he’s kinda hot, what’s he doing with a person like that?”
“I know right!”
It was hard for Xiao not to hear them, and he really wished he hadn’t. Of course he wanted to defend his relationship, but he always hated how people seemed to stare at the two of you.
Polar opposites.
To be clear, you were not the one that made him feel insecure, but rather the thoughts in his head. Xiao already had such a hard time believing someone like you could even like someone like him. You were so happy and cheerful and brought the best out in him. Xiao didn’t feel like he deserved you at all, not when he is the way he is.
Insecurity and all, it didn’t stop him from glaring past your shoulder. The more they talked, the worse he heard about you. It was like all they could talk about was your personality and how much it seemed like you didn’t deserve him. How you “couldn’t seem to shut up,” or “wipe the smile off your face.” Or that you “probably had to pay him to date someone like you.”
Xiao was already seething, but what set him off the most was when one of them made a comment about wanting to physically hurt you to take your smile away.
“Xiao?” You shot up out of your seat when he suddenly teleported away from you. When you turned around, you found him at the table behind you.
His hands were grabbing a guy by his shirt collar, holding him up into the air until he began to choke, “Shut your mouth before I shut it for you.”
The guy rapidly nodded up and down. Meanwhile, the two girls at the same table were gawking at the scene in front of them until one of them began yelling for Xiao to put the guy down.
“Stop it! You’re hurting him!” She screamed out.
“You said you wanted to hurt my partner. I am only returning the favor,” he said calmly before slamming the guy to the floor and walking to the girls behind him, “leave before I do something worse.”
Your jaw dropped as you watched the scene play out in front of you. Within seconds, the three of them had scrambled away. Xiao walked back over calmly and sat down. You were still stood up in your seat, confused at what had just occurred, “What the hell was that!”
“They were not saying nice things about you.”
Your eyes widened. You were happy he had defended you, but concerned for the consequences that could follow, “You can’t just go beating up random people like that, you could get in trouble!”
“That does not concern me. Any one that says anything bad about you does not deserve to be in your presence.”
“Xiao…” your voice softened, unable to think of anything to say. You knew he was protective, but it was rare for you to see that side of him up close and in person.
His hand gestured to the table, “Now please sit. I would like to hear more about your week.”

gif not mine LOL!!
A/N: sorry for the delay lovelies, this part is a liiiiittle lame but i promise to give you what you want in the next. Xx
———————
You realized the next day there were a limited number of guys with those beautiful blue eyes and brown hair. Only three of them felt worth considering, for the others had voices that sounded too different or hobbies that contrasted with Kick-Ass’ obvious interests.
On your way to second hour, you noticed one of them walking down the hall as you switched books from your locker. You looked at him, hoping he would notice. He made eye contact with you for a second and smiled, but since you didn’t really know him, he kept on walking.
You thought maybe if that was him then he would have tried to avoid talking to you, for the obvious reason that he couldn’t have you knowing his identity.
You hoped it was that guy rather than any of the others. He was pretty good looking and a few girls you knew had a crush on him. Of course he was oblivious though.
“Hey Cleo.” You smiled as Cleo leaned against the locker next to yours.
“I think I’m getting a Kick-Ass fever.” She spoke. Thinking of the events of the night before, you replied. “How so?”
“I can’t stop thinking about him… And what you told me about him yesterday.”
“Right, yeah…” You chewed the tissue on the inside of your cheek, biting back a grin that dared to creep up on your face knowing you were the girl getting the action with Kick-Ass out of all his fans.
“Anything new happen with him? Did he send you anything on MySpace?” She winked, making you scoff in disgust.
“Um well…”
Cleo lit up in excitement, “What happened!?”
“He got hurt. Like real bad, and I patched him up and…”
“Please tell me what I think you’re gonna say,” She smiled, biting her bottom lip as she gripped your bicep from elation.
“I kissed him…” You smiled, she stared in utter shock but you knew she was happy for you.
“Cleo, promise me you won’t say anything because I really don’t want his fangirls to bombard me with questions only to TP my house.” You looked at her seriously.
“Of course.” She nodded sincerely.
“Was he a good kisser?” She whispered feverishly.
“Well, I could tell he didn’t have that much experience at first, and he even admitted to it, but he got the hang of it really quick.” You giggled. “And… He’s got really nice muscles.” You grinned, Cleo’s eyes widening, “Wait so—“
“He had to take his suit off for me to fix him up.”
The conversation continued as you told her in detail about what happened. You made your way to your next class, spotting Marty, Dave, and Todd walking through the crowd.
“Hey guys,” Spoke Cleo, stopping on the side of the corridor and getting their attention quickly but there was nothing you could do.
“Hi,” You greeted them as well. Dave looked gone. He had incredibly dark circles like he didn’t get any sleep. He also had a bruise forming on his left eye, and a cut on his lip.
“‘Sup.” Todd replied. Marty saluting you as well.
Dave smiled at Cleo, soon turning to you and feeling his knees weaken. He knew he couldn’t act differently, or else you would know. He knew you weren’t stupid.
“Hi.” His voice almost trembling as he swallowed, trying to avoid your gaze.
“Hey asshole.” You said chuckling.
He rolled his eyes and suddenly, he forgot that he made out with you twelve hours ago.
“What happened to your eye…?” You pointed at your own, mirroring the area in which he had the bruise.
“I got jumped again.” He said simply, looking into your eyes in an attempt to make it believable.
He wanted to look away from you, so that you wouldn’t catch on, but he just couldn’t. He noticed how your hair was getting in your face and he just wanted to push it out of the way to look at your pretty face.
Maybe he was spacing out? Probably tired from how much homework he had or something. You assumed lack of sleep from all that was why he looked so drained.
“You guys wanna get coffee at Atomic Comics later?” Cleo asked.
You shot her a look. She looked back, slightly nodding at Todd, whom she had a big crush on, but you knew he wouldn’t pick up on it. And you knew Cleo was too much of a pussy to ask him out alone.
Dave looked at you both, “We have to study for that project thing from sixth period,” pointing between you and himself.
“Right, yeah.” You sighed in annoyance.
He lowered his eyes, noticing your reaction. Okay so clearly you haven’t found out it’s him yet. Maybe if you knew it was him then you’d like him more? That being the answer he preferred, or you’d get really fucking pissed and call him things he wasn’t.
“We gotta get to class, Cleo.” You reminded her, holding onto the strap of your backpack and slowly moving towards the middle of the hall to begin your walk to second period.
"Bye," Dave spoke up, mostly to you, but his voice cracked as he realized he let it slip out.
You turned to him along with the others, the four of you looking at him strangely. His face began heating up from embarrassment so he cleared his throat, biting his lip as he pushed past you to make his way to his next class.
———————
Most of your morning was uneventful as usual, walking past Dave in the halls but it seemed like he lost his breath each time he spotted you. For the first few minutes of lunch, you and Cleo sat with Marty and Todd again, but somehow Dave hadn't joined you yet.
"Yeah, but that's because it's Superman." You heard Cleo state as you were brought back to reality.
"Are there any super heroes who's love interest doesn't like them until they reveal themselves as a super-hero?" Cleo turned to you.
"Uh, yeah I'm pretty sure there are." you answered.
Just then you spotted Dave making his way to your table, an irritated expression on his face.
"What happened to you?" Said Todd.
“The teacher made me go to the counselor's office." He motioned to his face with his index finger.
“Right. What'd she ask you about?" You spoke up as he sat down.
His eyes shot in your direction, almost like he forgot you were there. He swallowed as he answered your question. "She told me I should reach out to an adult if I'm getting mistreated at home or…being…bullied." He spoke like it was the most ridiculous story he'd ever told.
You giggled, "Well, what'd you tell her?"
"That I got jumped? Duh."
“Did you?” You questioned seriously.
He looked at you for a second, “Yeah.” He said simply, hoping you wouldn’t ask any further. Technically, he wasn’t lying. He did get jumped. But not for the sake of being robbed. They were trying to kill him.
“I’m glad you’re okay…I guess.” You admitted, earning looks from everyone else at the table.
Dave had to bite back the widest grin. “Um... Thanks.” He meant it. He obviously couldn’t tell you but you were pretty much the whole reason he was okay with how you stitched him up.
“…What?” You looked back at the other three. “If he wasn’t okay I’d have to do the project all by myself.” You said, trying to crack a joke out of it even if you were serious about him being okay.
“Anyway…” Cleo suddenly perked up, remembering what had happened with Kick-Ass.
“Oh yeah, someone over here has been getting real close with Kick-Ass these past few days.” She nudged your arm, smirking.
“Wait, really?” Marty spoke, “What’s he like, is he like avenging his parents,” he joked, earning a chuckle from Todd. Dave was oddly quiet.
“I dunno. He said he just wanted to see what it was like, I guess? And that he wanted to help people because no one else does.”
“Cute.” Said Cleo.
“Laaaame.” Spoke Marty, Todd soon agreeing with him.
“Didn’t you also kiss him?” Cleo spoke up.
You hit her arm, rolling your eyes as you were faced with having to admit.
“Dude, he's a superhero. He kisses like a ton of girls.”
He didn't know why you had lied about that but was grateful.
“Was he a good kisser?”
You didn’t understand for having to ask all this in front of the small group of boys. What you did know, was that the room got pretty hot with the position you were in.
Dave looked up at you expecting an answer as Todd and Marty watched you disinterested and kept on eating.
“Yeah.” You said.
He felt his stomach twist at your words, locking eyes with you for long enough to feel a blood rush in his face.
“Dave, what exactly did they do to your face? I mean all they had to do was put you on the ground right, not rip your face off.” You asked curiously, suddenly changing the topic.
He was at a loss for words for a minute, mouth vaguely ajar and still trying to recover from the fact you thought he was a good kisser.
“I got punched in the face like five times and I was also st—” He paused, forgetting he got stabbed and that you stitched it up. “stabbed—in the back…” He tried making it sound convincing.
“Right, got it.” You paused. “Do you wanna get a cab home together? Now I’m scared shitless to get one by myself, and you live like right next to me so… We can both avoid getting our asses robbed.” You chuckled.
“Okay…?” He he squinted, glancing at Marty and Todd which looked at him like he was out of his mind.
———————
You’d been sitting on the curb in front of the school, waiting for what had been about half an hour for Dave.
“Hey, sorry. Mr. Duaine wanted to talk with me.” Dave’s familiar voice rang out as he approached you.
“It’s okay. I called a cab a few minutes ago, should be getting here in a bit.” You answered.
Dave sat down next to you, the sun hitting both your heads with a sickening heat. But the silence was peaceful somehow, it didn’t get awkward.
“Hey, Dave?”
He turned his head to look at you, his eyes squinting from the brightness of the sun. But remembering what happened last night, he couldn't keep his gaze on you for too long.
“Hm?”
Chewing on your lip, you held out your hand to him. “Friends?”
He took a moment to look at your hand, lifting his eyes back up at you. He hesitated, and you didn’t blame him. “What?” He looked at you accusingly.
You looked back down at the concrete in front of you, trying to find whatever words you had in the back of your mind to try and explain yourself.
“I…”
You faced him, “I think I don’t hate you that much anymore.”
He let out a soft laugh, “You think?”
You threw a small pebble you found onto the street before you two. “…Sorry I cut you off like that…”
You sighed. “I miss being friends with you. You were my best friend and I shoved it up my ass because you liked a girl and hadn’t even gotten to that point of my life yet...” You paused, “I mean, starting to crush on boys…” you added. “I didn’t understand why you liked her so much when I thought we were supposed to be focused on stupid shit like comics. You grew up before me and it made me feel horrible.”
Dave only stared at you with his lips parted, like he was going to say something, but nothing slipped out. Hearing all this from you made him want to make out with you again.
“Obviously at this point I understand you, but… You didn’t have to push me away, y’know? After a while you kinda just ignored me or turned me down when I wanted to hang out.”
Dave’s heart grew heavier with your words. He never knew how much it affected you, he thought you didn’t care about the friendship you had either and that you just dropped him for no reason. Gosh he was so fucking blind.
“I’m sorry.” He said simply, gazing at the ground in front of him.
“I miss being friends with you too.” Dave finally brought his eyes to yours, giving you a soft, but guilty smile.
“I’m sorry I treated you like that. I mean, you’re the only friend I had for that long. You were also the only girl I could talk to without embarrassing myself.” He paused, turning to you and seeing your eyebrows furrowed.
“Wait—“ His eyes widened, “that—that sounds wrong—I mean, you… I—I don’t like you like that, um… I was just wanting to say that—since I could talk to you, I…” He still wasn’t getting his point across and only embarrassed himself further.
“Fuck, I… You know what I meant.“ He chuckled awkwardly.
“Yes, I get your point, Dave.” You chuckled.
“Okay, good.” he breathed, scoffing at himself but his face flushed red.
"Are you blushing?" You felt your heart skip before biting back a laugh, considering that everything he said was ridiculous. “Two years without me and you already miss me so much you get a crush on me?” You finally giggled.
“Shut up,” he rolled his eyes at your laughter, “Gross.”
“You asshole!” you smacked his arm.
He let himself laugh along with you, until suddenly his mind began flooding with thoughts of how you kissed him the night before. How soft and warm your lips were, how your hands felt touching his chest, playing with his hair. How he was resisting so hard not to tell you who he was and that he knew you, not to beg you to touch him in ways he’s never been touched before.
He did think of you that way although he’d never admit it out loud.
“Whatever.” You scoffed, completely oblivious to the fact that, in reality, this boy was head over heels for you.
“Fine.” He held his hand out like you had just done for him, “Friends. I guess.” He playfully rolled his eyes and you took it with no hesitation, giving him a firm shake.
“So uh,” he began as he let go of your hand, “You and Kick-Ass.” He hid a smile.
You scoffed, “What, are you jealous?” you smirked.
“Ew.” He scorned. “The way you talked about him at lunch, thanks for giving me something to relentlessly make fun of you for. Imagine liking a guy you don’t even know.” he teased. But you could have him all you wanted. You did have him, all to yourself, unbeknownst to you.
“Shut up, Dave! It’s not like I’m in love with him. I don’t think I’d even date him...” You laughed
He took a nervous breath, like somehow you could read his mind, that he was practically lying to you and you knew.
In the current moment he wanted to kiss you like he did yesterday. So perilously. But not just kiss you, he wanted to love you. He kept watching you as your laugh died down and you smiled, looking elsewhere. A smile threatened to break upon his lips because of how pretty you looked and that beautifully contagious smile.
Dave was snapped from his thoughts as he heard a car approaching, looking in the direction of the cab as it pulled up in front of the two of you. The boy stood up first, quickly grabbing your hand to pull you up, and surprisingly, he opened the door for you. You decided to scoot all the way to the other side so that he wouldn’t have to walk around.
“Where to?”
————
Not long passed before you were dropped off at the entrance to your neighborhood.
“Thank you!” You called, Dave paying the driver what was due as she drove away.
“Thanks for getting that.” You told Dave, grateful that he had payed for you.
“Yeah…” He replied, adjusting his backpack as he turned to walk next to you. You heard a quiet wince and noticed a little grimace on his face.
“Hey, are you okay?”
“Yes. I’m good.” He replied quickly, squirming in his place.
"You sure?" You watched him with a look of concern.
"Yeah, just a bruise from yesterday."
You only nodded, beginning to walk down the sidewalk to get home.
"So..." Dave began speaking after a moment, although the silence was comfortable, he still wanted to talk to you.
"Were you able to get any part of the project done last night?" You asked.
"I stayed up super late writing my part. What about you?"
You didn't realize that 'late' meant he was up until 2 AM because of everything that had happened.
"I started kind of early but..." You paused, remembering how Kick-Ass had gotten hurt. "Some...stuff happened and I got distracted... I only got to write like two paragraphs."
He smiled, he got you so distracted that you couldn't even finish your homework. He felt proud to be so memorable as Kick-Ass.
"What happened?" He asked this out of 'curiosity.'
"Uh my friend called and we were talking all night..." You lied.
"Oh, alright." He bit back a smile.
"What about you? Why were you up so late?"
"I was just... I had some stuff to take care of with my dad a—and we got home kind of late, so…”
“Mm.” You nodded.
As you stepped foot on your porch, you turned to salute Dave until you saw him later.
“Just come over at like seven.” You suggested, smiling and sending a small wave soon after.
“Okay, see you.” He subtly sized you up, flashing his dimpled smile before walking back to his own home.
Since when was his smile so attractive?

You and Dazai have gotten into an argument. In the beginning, he just had an awful day at work. He told you several times to just leave him be, but you were concerned of course, so you kept approaching him, asking him if he’s okay and if he needs anything. You were just being a loving girlfriend, but he was not in his right mind right now. He proceeded to respond negatively to your consideration, not appreciating it at the moment. You, however, you were stubborn. You continued to offer him snacks to relieve stress before he, out of the blue, yells at you.
—“Jusy shoo, you’re pestering me! I don’t need you to care for me.” Your detective boyfriend huffed and rubbed his temples. Of course, he meant none of it, he just wasn’t himself at the current moment. Despite knowing this, it still felt like a punch in the guts. I mean, you were just trying to care for him, was that so bad? The mere moment he heard you sniffle slightly, visibly shaken by his scolding, he feels remorse slap him in the face. And yet, his pride won’t let him admit he’s wrong first— at least not now.
However, he then notices you began to keep a distance from him and he instantly felt troubled, since he knew it was all because of him. Your brunette lover approached you as you were cooking in the kitchen. You avoided his touch as he tried wrapping his arms around to for an embrace, and it only made him frown. How is he supposed to make up for this one?
—“Hey, hey, woah… why are you moving away from me? Belladonna, you know I didn’t mean what I said, please forgive me… I’ll make it up to you, what do you want? Come back to me…”

You and Chuuya often get into arguments, yes. It’s often because he was short-tempered, and you both always make up. Though, today was quite different. It was like any other argument. You and your love began to give each other the silent treatment and per usual. You went out to avoid him while he just drank his worries away. Normally, Chuuya would’ve swallowed his pride and apologize by now, so that was the first strange thing. Perhaps he was just extra stubborn today, you had no clue, but you were definitely perplexed. Despite his pride, he would still apologize first because he was possessive of you.
—“Stupid woman, always botherin’ and startin’ arguments with me. So fuckin’ annoying, for the love of god.” You heard you PM executive beloved renting about you to someone in the phone. You didn’t like it at all, not one bit. You stormed off, feeling childish and sensitive for letting your ginger-haired boyfriend get under your skin so effortlessly with just a few words, but that kind of crap still hurts, so who could blame you? I mean, your own love talking shit about you hurts like hell, doesn’t it?
The next night, Chuuya returned from work and went to your guy’s shared bedroom to see you sitting on the mattress, fetal position with the blanket all the way to your lips. You were visibly upset, and Chuuya already knew why. He sighed as remorse ate him from the inside. With his teeth, he took his black gloves off, then approached you. You were a bit stubborn and turned away from him, which he wouldn’t let slide, as he grabbed you chin roughly.
—“Hey, my pretty girl… don’t give ‘m that attitude, you know I don’t like it… don’t you dare look away from me either. Look, i’ll say it, I’m sorry. You can stop sulkin’ now, you know that it makes me feel so damn bad…”

Oh good god, what did you do to make Akutagawa angry at you? Well, it wasn’t necessarily your fault. You accused him of cheating at first because of how distant he’s been with you recently. He was offended really, and started to raise his voice at you, which led to bickering, then you two ignoring eachother at the Port Mafia. Akutagawa either gave you a slight scowl or disapproving look when he met your eyes, and you did the same. You both were too stubborn to apologize first. Akutagawa went and complained about you to Tachihara.
Then, when you both had to go on a mission together, Akutagawa scoffed and crossed his arms. He purposely kept a distance for you and stared indifferently. —“You’re an pathetic… I should just leave you in the dust. You just distract me anyways.” The Diablo spoke, making you feel really terrible, like a brutal slap on the face. Your dark-haired boyfriend didn’t even realize what he was saying because he was so agitated right now, all because of an small accusation. This all could’ve been avoided if one of you would just apologize…
—“You know, I only dated you because I felt pity for you. You kept chasing me like a mutt, and—“ Akutagawa continued before pausing, coughing slightly, then realizing you had stopped walking with him. That part what he said was actually partially true, he only started to date you to shut you up since you kept following him around and telling him how much you love him. Though, one part he didn’t include was that he did start to fall for you in the end. Now, because you mean something to him, he felt instant remorse and sighed, turning back to see your reaction.
You were obviously hurt as you notice your lover looking back at you… concerned? Tears already rolled down your cheek, then dropping to the ground. You wiped them away quickly since you didn’t want to look vulnerable, and just continued on with the mission in silence. —“God damn it— sweetheart? I didn’t mean it… it’s not like that, I promise you it isn’t… if it makes you feel better I’ll— uhh… apologize.”

Bucky isn't in his best mood. Actually, he's been in a bad mood lately, at least when he's with you. So you know that you should wait until he seems better to put the plan into action. But you just can't wait anymore, you've been having a pretty bad week yourself, and you need to get it out of your chest just yet, or it may end up killing you.
So, arming yourself with courage, you approach him that night. He seems to be doing nothing, just scrolling boringly through his phone. He looks cute, using both of his hands to hold the phone, just like old people.
"Hey, Buck" you say when you enter his range of vision.
He looks up from his phone, he doesn't look startled, probably heard you entering the room with his super-soldier ear.
"Hey" he says, and goes back to his phone. For a man who wasn't born in this century, he seems to enjoy new technologies.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure" he says, even though he looks pissed. You don't understand why he's acting so strange around you lately, maybe you really shouldn't be doing this.
You sigh.
"So... I was planning on watching a movie with Nat, but she just went on a mission. Do you... want to watch it with me?" you ask quickly, like if you say it fast enough the words would change or something.
"I'm busy" he simply says, frowning. He doesn't look busy at all.
You look around as if looking for something or someone that's keeping him busy. You, of course, don't find anything, so you nod sadly and turn around "Okay, I'll ask someone else"
Great, the plan hasn't even begun and you have already failed. You feel stupid. Why would a man like Bucky Barnes be interested in you? You're just a normal woman, there are plenty of better options out there, even inside the team.
As you approach the door, you feel the pain of rejection wash over you. Bucky and you were always close friends, but lately, he's been acting all cold and weird with you. Maybe he found out you like him and is trying to push you away? That's the only thing that makes sense, and it hurts you. It hurts you because not only are you losing the man you have feelings for, but you're also losing a great friend.
"Wait" you hear Bucky's voice when you reach the door.
"Mhm?" you ask, turning around, he's now standing.
"You know what? A movie sounds great" he says with a nod.
You can't help but smile "Really? Cool. I was thinking of a horror movie, but if it's not your thing we can watch something else. You know, if you get scared easily?" you tease.
You're beginning to regret teasing him, now that your relationship is not at its best, but then he smiles:
"Yeah, I think I can handle myself, horror sounds good"
You nod, now excited "Great, I'll make some popcorn a prepare some drinks, we'll have fun"
"Sounds good"
You nod with a smile "You can choose the movie while I prepare everything. Choose a good one"
With that being said, you start to walk to the kitchen.
Now your plan can begin. To be completely honest, you didn’t have anything prepared with Nat, you just needed an excuse so you didn’t sound so desperate about it. You have everything planned: first, you will confirm if Bucky likes you, with subtle touches and light words. Then, you will finally confess your feelings. You just hope you don’t embarrass yourself.
Since he’s been so rude to you lately, you’re not so sure about the plan, but what can you do? Just stay there, watching him from a distance, but never making a move? You’re not like that, you have to do something, or you may combust. At least you have to find out if he likes you back, or if his sudden behavior with you is because he doesn't like you anymore, even as a friend. At least he has accepted to watch the movie, that has to mean something. Right?
With that in mind, you grab the popcorn and the drinks and make your way to the living room. Bucky is already there, scrolling through a streaming service with a frown on his face.
“Hey” you leave everything on the table and smile at him. He doesn’t smile back, just nods while you sit down next to him. Why is he being so reserved? You really don’t understand.
You can’t help but notice that he’s sitting in a way that his metal arm is not facing you, how convenient.
“So… have you chosen a movie yet?” you say as you eat popcorn.
“No, still trying to think what to pick” he says, turning his face back to the TV.
"Anything's fine, really. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece (horror movies normally aren't)"
“Alright” and his eyes linger on yours, maybe longer than he intended. You can’t help but notice and smile.
Then he chooses a random movie and press play. He makes himself comfortable and you catch him looking at you. Is he looking at you with happiness, discomfort or something more? You can’t tell, his face is indecipherable.
You turn away from him, you don’t want to make it so obvious that you like him, not before putting your plan into action. So you stare at the movie, but you can still feel his eyes looking at you from time to time.
The movie plays and you’re too nervous to make a move. You sigh, now unsure about everything.
Then, the perfect moment for your plan occurs. There’s a jump scare in the movie. You’re not scared at all, but you jump a little and hold his hand, wanting to see his reaction.
His face doesn't change, but you can feel his body stiffening. Maybe he doesn’t like you after all? Maybe this was a bad idea? Maybe you’re making a fool of yourself?
But then he squeezes your hand and looks at you with a reassuring smile. All the doubts leave your mind when you see that smile that you love so much, when you feel his hand around yours, comforting you.
First part of your plan: done. He didn’t back off, he didn’t look at you like you’re crazy or called you out.
It still didn’t mean anything, right?
You continue watching the movie, and you proceed with the second part of the plan. This is a little more risky, but you assure yourself that it’s worth it. You fake yawn a few times.
Finally, you, slowly, rest your head on his shoulder.
He doesn't move, maybe even being a little more frozen than he normally would be. You smile, this is a good sign, right? You wish you could see his face, or read his mind.
You continue watching the movie like this, resting your head on his shoulder and still holding his hand. There’s nowhere in the world where you wish to be more than here.
You still have more things in your plan, but the movie ends before you can make them happen. You finally separate from him, your body hot where he was touching you.
“Hmm, not the best movie I’ve watched, but entertaining enough, right?” you ask with a smile.
“Yeah, it wasn’t bad” he nods.
He looks at his hands, you can feel he’s nervous. Is that a good sign or a bad one? You can’t tell.
“I should get going” he suddenly says.
You feel disappointed.
You still haven’t decided if you’re gonna confess or not. He didn’t react bad to any of your moves, but you still feel unsure. What if he sees you just like a friend? What if you ruin your friendship? Then again, your friendship hasn't been in its best stage lately, you wouldn't be ruining anything.
You decide to do it. You just can’t stand this feeling. Looking at him, being close to him, but not being able to kiss him, to touch him… it’s just so painful.
“Got somewhere better to be?” you finally ask.
“Not really” he says “But… I should go. Thanks for the movie, tho”
He stands up and starts walking away.
“Wait” you say. You can’t just let him go like that, you may not have another chance like this, where you two are alone “Wait, I… need to tell you something, can you sit down for a minute?”
“Alright” he says with a confused frown, but he does as you say and sits down again.
You swallow nervously, unsure where to start. You decide to start with the beginning:
"I... I kind of lied to you. I wasn't planning on watching a movie with Nat, I haven't even seen her since yesterday. I... planned all of this to spend time with you" you confess "Alone time with you" you specify.
“You did?” he asks. He seems confused.
“Mhm, and you know why?” This is it, you’re gonna say it.
“Why?” he asks softly.
“Because I like you” you finally confess.
The room falls completely silent. Bucky is apparently frozen. You are too.
You try to look into his eyes, looking for a sign. But he’s not looking at you.
“Well? You don’t have anything to say?” you chuckle nervously.
"I..." he stutters before he manages to get his voice back. “I like you too."
You sigh and laugh with relief "Really? I mean, I..."
“Yeah, I really do” This time he looks at you, and you can finally see his eyes. They’re shining, you have never seen them like that, you have never seen them as beautiful “I like you a lot”
You smile and lean in towards him. You look at his lips and then at his eyes, like begging him to kiss you.
You are so close… so close you can feel his breath. So close he can probably hear your fast heartbeat. “Kiss me” you whisper.
You don’t have to ask twice, he closes the space between you and kisses you. His mouth presses against yours, soft and gentle at first, then more firmly, with a hunger that has been growing for too long. His hand travels to your waist, holding you; and yours goes to his hair, holding him even closer to you.
It feels like you two are melting into each other, his body pressed against you, every inch being touched. It feels almost surreal, almost magical.
Your tongues meet and you both let out a murmur of joy. Everything is perfect, this is how things should be.
You grab all the courage you have left and make your way towards his lap, putting each leg on either side of him. He lets it happen. Your legs are now wrapped around him, making it impossible to be closer.
He now holds you with both his arms, probably without thinking about it. Both the warm and the cold sides of him make you feel whole.
You finally separate from him to catch your breath, he seems to be just fine, tho.
He then smiles shyly, like you just did not kiss fiercely a second ago.
“I’m glad you told me”
“Yeah, I’m glad too” you say with a smile.
He shifts, making himself more comfortable, before he looks into your eyes with a smile "I… how long has it been that you feel this way about me?"
You raise your eyebrow, confused by the sudden question, but decide to answer:
“I think I liked you since the moment I met you, since the moment I saw that pretty face framed by that long hair" you laugh, and he blushes a little, making you blush too "But I thought I just liked you as a friend, I didn't realize what my feelings were until a few weeks ago, you know, after that mission... when you were injured, and I thought..."
“You thought what?”
“That I was gonna lose you” you confess and that makes him smile sweetly. Your right hand travels to his cheek and start caressing it "Yeah, and in that moment it hit me: I didn't want you as a friend anymore, I wanted to hold you, to take care of your injury, to kiss you until you feel better”
After a moment of comfortable silence you ask:
“What about you? When did you start to have feelings for me?"
He seems to think about it for a moment, maybe contemplating if he should tell you.
"Do you remember when I told you I was having nightmares about the time I was tortured by HYDRA?"
“Yeah, that night neither of us could sleep?”
"Mhm, well... in that moment, when you comforted me... when you were there for me... I knew then. That was when I realized how much I liked and cared for you, more than any friend or teammate ever before."
You smile softly "That was a while ago, you should've told me sooner"
“I thought you would never feel the same way about me, though you were just being kind, like any friend would”
“That’s funny, I’ve been avoiding telling you because of the same reason” you chuckle slightly.
“I guess we’re both stupid”
“Yeah… But, anyways, I have a question… why were you being so… why were you avoiding me lately?” you didn’t wanna say the word ‘mean’.
“Oh, you notice?” he says, and you can feel embarrassment in his voice “I just… it hurted me being around you, but not being able to… you know… kiss you or…” he rambles.
You smile and kiss him again, this time the kiss is soft and short.
When you separate, you can’t help but laugh out loud with the thoughts that cross your mind.
“God, Nat is not gonna believe I told you”
“What? You've been telling Nat about me?" he raises an eyebrow.
“Of course, she’s my friend” you smile.
"Right, right. What else did you tell her?” he asks. Is he teasing you?
"Oh, nothing, really. Just rambling about how beautiful I think you are... you know, that kind of things girls talk about" you say caressing his cheek. That makes him blush again "I think she would be relieved that I finally confessed, because now I can tell you instead of her, she was getting irritated" you chuckle.
He chuckles too, probably imagining Nat pissed about you rambling about him. The thought of it is just too ridiculous.
"Did you always plan to confess to me at some point then?" he asks.
“Of course, I always have to make the first move” you joke.
"So, you really planned all of this? Not just the movie, but the whole confession as well?" he smirks.
"Yeah, the movie was just to make sure you liked me too. You know, holding your hand and all that... I'm a mastermind"
“And I guess that means you'll be making the first move the rest of the time as well?"
"Of course" you smile evilly.
"Of course," he mimics back. "Well, I guess I'll just have to get used to you taking charge then."
He smiles back at you in the same way you did and leans forward so that his face is close to you again.
"What are you planning next?" he hints with a smirk.
"Well, I was planning on asking you to be my boyfriend?" you ask with a sly smile.
"Be your boyfriend?" he repeats with a teasing smirk. "Did you plan that as well? Is this the next step in the mastermind's plan?"
"Mhm, is it working? Would you say yes?"
"Yes," he suddenly answers, not wasting any time. "I'll be your boyfriend."
"Great" you say and then give him a quick kiss.
"And now that I'm your boyfriend, what are our next steps?"
"I have to keep that a secret, don't want to spoil my masterplan" you wink.
"I should've known," he says, laughing softly. "Always a step ahead, isn't it?"
"Always" you chuckle.

Happy Accidents

[Todd Ingram x Female!Reader]
Synopsis: You might've broken your leg due to Todd, but that didn't mean you couldn't still have quality time together.
WC: 2672
Category: Hurt/Comfort, Fluff
This was such a random plot I came up with, but I’m actually in love with it. I feel that this little one-shot is 100% Todd accurate (I say little but it’s literally 2k words lol).
Also, please don’t send the vegan police after me for my inaccuracies (lmao). Google was my only option 😭😭
『••✎••』
Spending time at the hospital wasn’t the plan you had in mind for your Friday night. You expected it with you curled up on your couch watching whatever crappy reality show that was airing with Todd by your side.
He was always the perfect person to binge with; his reactions were an endless source of sarcastic commentary. It actually made it funnier.
But you couldn't be too upset. You still had Todd, and you had… some television. Sure, it wasn’t 90 Day Fiancé, but it was better than nothing.
Usually, when it came to broken legs, you were at the hospital for two hours. Two. Hours. Not you, of course. Your boyfriend had to be a vegan and have those whacked-out powers. It was a given that there’d be an accident.
Who knew a flying amp could be so hard to catch?
At least you didn't have a concussion. The only injury was your leg, but your leg was completely messed up. Three different fractures in your femur and a torn ligament. It was the most you had ever been injured in your life, including all those times you fell off your bike or when you broke your arm in third grade.
The doctors at the hospital said that they couldn't let you leave until Monday. Surgery was also still on the table and could happen as early as tomorrow, which you definitely weren’t paying for
So, you were stuck in the hospital, eating the terrible hospital food and watching stupid television.
And the worst part about all of this was that it was slowly taking your mind off of Todd.
It was only the last couple months when the two of you started dating. Neither of you were exactly serious or anything, but you had feelings.
He was a big guy and a real sweetheart, not to mention a badass with those powers of his. It was obvious that he had a good heart, and he didn't take shit from anybody. That included you.
You had to admit that it was cute when he got jealous. He never had to worry, though. You were never interested in guys like him. You had your eye on Todd, and now you were stuck in a hospital bed because of him.
Now that it was just a memory, the moment you broke your leg was pretty comical. Envy needed a rehearsal before their band went out on tour the following week, and since you and Todd planned the night out together, you attended their quick practice.
As usual, they were awesome. You were like a little fangirl when Envy started singing. You kept your cool, though, sitting on the couch while they ran tempo and entrances. You weren't paying too much attention either, until you heard a voice and turned your head.
Lynette, the drummer, apparently had a very salty day and decided to pick fights with Envy’s ideas. She even suggested that she should learn how to write songs. That was a big no-no when it came to Envy, and it was made very clear that it would be her last comment for the day.
It was a blur, really. Envy and Lynette were throwing insults at each other, and Todd was caught in the middle of it. He was pretty bad at confrontation when it didn’t technically involve him and so he usually let it slide, but something about Lynette had pissed him off this time.
You could still remember the words he said.
"You know what I hate about you? Your hair."
You giggled, and that was your mistake. Lynette absolutely loved her hair. That haircut was her pride and joy. Todd could never understand what it was about it, but it was Lynette's favorite feature.
So, when he insulted her favorite thing in the world, she immediately started attacking your boyfriend, causing you to go over and try to stop this before it escalated.
Well, it escalated. Todd subconsciously went into “vegan mode” when he was mad. It was a defense mechanism or something like that. In any case, an accidental movement of his hand had an expensive amplifier aimed right at your leg.
Envy saw it coming and screamed his name to get his attention, but he couldn’t hear her over Lynette, and you couldn't move out of the way fast enough.
And then, everything stopped. All you felt was the excruciating pain that was apparently your broken bone, multiple places, as you later found out. Your mind went blank for a moment as all the horrified expressions of each band member turned towards you.
Todd threw the amplifier aside with his powers, profusely apologizing to you. His hair settled back down to normal as he took you in his arms.
"Oh, god, am I an idiot." He said. "I didn't mean to… oh, man, you’re okay, right?"
You were on the verge of tears when you nodded your head. The adrenaline of the moment had taken over your pain as you wrapped your arms around his neck and squeezed him tight.
Envy most definitely cursed him out on your behalf. Lynette was still pissed as she stood off to the side, crossing her arms with a huff. She didn’t really know you, so she didn’t really care that you got hurt.
But Todd knew you, and he cared a whole hell of a lot about you. He was going to be making up to you for a while. You were going to get the apology of a lifetime and probably an entire chocolate cake with strawberries. You loved strawberries.
You did not care about your injury at that moment, though. The scene of Todd apologizing to you, Envy yelling derogatory words at him that were obviously unknown to him, and Lynette's head turning in the other direction was probably one of the best sights you had ever witnessed in your life.
“How’re you feeling?” Todd’s voice snapped you out of your memory. He was in the chair beside you with a hospital pillow on his lap. He had a bag of Doritos in his hand, which he was munching on.
You turned your head over to him and couldn't help but smile. It was a smile full of love and adoration, one that made Todd raise an eyebrow.
"I'm alright," you replied, reaching for the water that was by your bedside. You failed miserably, but Todd noticed it and hovered it over to your hands.
He took the opportunity to grab another chip and take a bite before looking back at you.
"You sure you're okay? I mean, you got hurt 'cause of me.”
"That's what I get for dating a badass, I guess." You laughed, shaking your head.
Todd scoffed, "That's not funny."
"It kinda is."
"Whatever." He crossed his arms and pouted a little bit. "I'll have to watch my back more now. I could have killed you."
“It’s okay. Envy would’ve reunited us if you had. She would’ve torn you a new one. I'd say you dodged a bullet there.”
As Todd munched on his Doritos, nodding along to your words, you knew there was nothing in his brain that connected what you’d just said. He was most definitely agreeing, just to agree.
And just because of that, you couldn't help but admire him. He was sitting there with his messy hair and those brown eyes of his. His clothes were wrinkled, and you could see the tiredness in his eyes, but none of it mattered to you because he was still so beautiful.
Todd being a vegan was also a blessing because it gave him such an amazing physique. He was lean but toned, his abs always visible even under his baggy shirts. Not that you cared if they were showing or not.
"Can I have a chip?” You asked him.
He turned towards you with a look of horror on his face. "You don’t like these. You like the non-vegan Doritos.”
“Aren’t they all… not vegan?”
Todd let out a sigh, his eyes rolling back.
"Not these. Spicy Sweet Chili. I got these from the vending machine. They're for me."
He sounded like a little child, which you couldn't help but laugh at. He always was so serious about these things, even though they were snacks that were meant to be shared with people.
"That's not what I asked." You said.
"Yeah, but-"
You made grabby hands at him. You were starting to feel that pain again as your muscles were getting tired. You needed those chips.
"Todd, please."
He let out a sigh, trying to hold back a smile. He was always such a big softie for you.
He handed over a bag of chips, and you wasted no time in taking one. Immediate regret as you took a bite out of the spicy snack, choking as you did so. You managed to swallow it down before taking in a drink of water to wash it all down.
"Told you that you wouldn't like them." He said with a grin.
"I… like them. I just don't like how I feel after I eat them."
"Mhmm.”
You glared at him, narrowing your eyes. "Stop being smug."
"I can't help it if I'm so cool." He winked.
He wasn't wrong, though. Todd had a very good self-esteem about himself and was never shy to tell you so. But it was the way he said it, that smug look of his and his stupid wink, that made you want to punch him and kiss him.
It was those little things.
"You know," you said as you crossed your arms, "this isn't how I planned on spending my Friday night."
"I know, babe. I know."
"I mean, I thought we were going to have some quality time. The two of us and the TV, I really wanted to catch up on that old Ed and Rose storyline.”
"I know, I know.”
"And instead, I'm here with and because of you." You glared at him as you finished your sentence.
He was ready for your attack, crossing his arms to match yours. You two were in the middle of a staring contest when Todd opened his mouth to say something, but the nurse came in at the worst possible moment to interrupt him.
"Ah, you're awake. How're you feeling?”
Unfortunately, this made Todd win the battle as you were forced to look at the nurse. She had a smile on her face, one that made you feel relaxed. Todd turned to look at her as well.
"I'm feeling better now." You said. "Thank you for asking."
The nurse nodded her head, writing down your words before turning to Todd with a smile. "Since your friend—”
“Girlfriend.” He corrected her, pointing a finger at you.
You couldn't help but laugh, turning your head to the side as you did so. Your laughter got the nurse to smile.
"I apologize. Since your girlfriend is doing better, you’re welcome to visit back in the morning. Visitation hours are from eight to twelve and one to three. After that, only family will be allowed in.”
Todd turned to look at you, and you could see that he wanted to say something, but with a simple nod from you, he leaned back in the chair with his arms crossed, giving the nurse his attention.
She gave him another smile as she looked back at you. "I’ll come back in about an hour for a checkup. Press the button if you need anything in the meantime."
"Thank you." You replied.
She left the room smiling, leaving the two of you to look at each other.
You let out a sigh as you leaned your head back on the bed, closing your eyes. Todd's eyes never left you, staring at you as you did so.
“Should've said we were married. I would've been able to stay the night here." He said.
"Yeah, but then I wouldn't be able to sleep because of your snoring. You know, that's why I get up so early in the mornings. I have no choice but to leave the bed when you're snoozing away."
Todd had the audacity to smile at that, shaking his head.
"Whatever, I don't snore. Besides, you love the way my arms feel around you."
You opened one eye, staring at him. "Are you trying to make me feel bad?"
"No. I'm just stating the facts. I have great arms if you hadn't noticed."
You scoffed at him and his bragging. You closed your eyes again.
"I hate you so much."
"I know." He said with a smirk on his face. “Can I have my chips back now? You ate almost all of them."
You handed the bag back to him without another word, sighing deeply. You could feel Todd's stare at you as he opened up the bag again.
You heard him take another chip into his mouth as he stared at you, but he was too quiet, so you knew he had something else to say.
"What?" You asked, already knowing the answer.
"You know that I meant it when I said sorry, right?"
"Of course I know, Todd. You always apologize."
He swallowed down his chips. "Yeah, but this time I really meant it. I was so scared when you got hurt. I didn’t mean to; I just got pissed at Lynette, and that all happened."
"Todd, it's okay. I know you didn't mean it. You would never hurt me."
"You're sure?" He asked.
You opened up your eyes again, looking at him. He was staring down at his lap as he said those words, biting his lip. You could tell that he was genuinely worried about this, so you reached over and made grabby hands again, but instead of the chips, you were looking for him.
Todd looked up at you and raised an eyebrow. He placed the bag of chips aside and got out of his chair, going over to the side of the bed to look at you. You placed both of your hands on either side of his neck, smiling at him.
"I'm positive. I know how much I mean to you, Todd. You don't need to worry. I'm not mad at you."
He was looking right into your eyes as you said that and nodded his head, moving closer toward you as he placed his hands on the side of the bed. You didn't want him to be too far away from you, so you wrapped your arms around his neck.
"I'm just glad you're okay. I didn't mean for this to happen. I swear."
"I know." You replied. "It's not your fault."
You stared at each other for a few more moments before he leaned down and kissed you. He placed both of his hands on either side of the bed as he deepened the kiss. He didn't do this often, but when he did, he knew exactly what he was doing.
He was also extremely careful now that you had broken your leg, making sure that he wasn't putting any pressure on your side. He placed one hand on your face to hold you in place as he kissed you while his other hand supported his body.
It felt like a few minutes had passed before he broke the kiss. He leaned down and rested his forehead against yours, closing his eyes.
"I love you." He whispered.
"I love you too."
It wasn't the first time he said it, and it definitely wasn't the first time you had said it to him, but it was the first time you heard those words without any fear in his voice. There was no worry, no hesitation, only love.
He opened his eyes, looking at you with a smile on his face. His brown eyes always captivated you, especially when he smiled.
You felt your own smile spread as you looked into those beautiful eyes of his, kissing him on the cheek before snuggling up to him.
You felt his hands wrap around your body and sighed contently. Eventually, he’d have to leave, but until then, you were going to enjoy this.
And if it came with spicy chips, then even better.

Do you love me?
<-•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•->
Sometimes you’re just in your feelings and you feel a little unloved… actually it’s pretty bad. How does your boyfriend react when you ask?
(Welp here we go, I got an idea and I couldn’t get it out of my head no matter what so I just made it. I feel like this one needs a bit of a TW because it deals with feelings and I might not have grasped them right. Also I don’t know how they progressively got longer)
<-•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•—•->
Midoriya
You had been lackadaisical for at least a week, had it not been for your regenerative quirk you would have been seriously injured. But it was your fault. Or at least you think so. Finally fed up with avoiding your boyfriend, you take your blanket and crawl into his hold while he’s reading a book one day after class.
Usually he’d be training, but it was highly recommended he rest properly. He didn’t stop reading Midoriya simply adjusted his hold on the book and started patting your back as you lay on his chest. You weren’t sure how long you were there before he finally spoke.
“How are you feeling, cookie?”
Looking up at him you toyed with the words in your head a bit before finally speaking. “Do you love me?”
Midoriya looked hurt. “Of course I do. What made you think otherwise?”
Frowning you wrap your arms around him. “Everything. I don’t know, I just need to hear you say it.”
Bakugo
Granted you always felt a little sad, your only solace was your brother, and your boyfriend. Though they did disagree on the whole dating thing because of something like your don’t date your best friend’s siblings, even if they’re adopted. That wasn’t what got you down. What got you down was probably just the situation.
“Hey, aren’t you supposed to be helping?”
“I only if I can help otherwise I might accidentally kill someone,” you laugh hollowly.
“That’s not something to joke about, freak.”
It didn’t usually bother you. So you tried to seek out some comfort. Class A was used to seeing you walk in and either go to Ejiro or to Bakugo. Meaning no one batted an eye when you curled into Bakugo’s arm. He didn’t either, you honestly could tell if he cared.
“Do you love me?” You mumble for him to hear and he turns to you.
“The hell do you think?”
Okay. You had to admit you didn’t know what to think. Gathering a bit of water from the room you splashed it in his face before getting up.
“Oh I dunno? A clear fucking answer. I can’t read your mind Bakugo!” Your frustration and sadness was welling up. “I should never have come here.”
Storming out of the dorm, Eijiro groans. “Really? Bakubro, I know telling people how you feel isn’t your strong suit. But I’m sure they’re in their feelings since the anniversary is soon.”
Bakugo smacked himself. Of course he messed up somehow. Eventually he managed to get you to answer your phone, then shortly after talk to him away from the prying eyes of the extras where he berated you for asking such a stupid question. He cared about you, he just shoes it differently than you.
Kirishima
Let’s be honest the moment you started feeling down and even considered trying to deal with the feelings alone, Kirishima knew. He knew something was wrong and that you needed something, he didn’t know what it was but he would do anything if you asked.
So when you popped into his room while he was doing homework he put all his attention on you. Like a child you held your arms out for him and he picked you up and held you in his lap. Choosing to sit on the bed since the moment both your weight was on the chair it’d probably result in injury.
Cuddling into his hold you sniffle. “Do you love me Eijiro?”
His heart broke, because just from the sound of your voice you’d been crying before coming to him. He lifts up your face to look at him.
“Of course I do, and I’m going to tell you over,” he kisses your cheek. “And over.” The other cheek. “And over.” Your forehead. “And over again until you stop feeling like this.”
A small chuckle comes out. “Okay.”
Kaminari
You weren’t exactly the overly affectionate type especially when it came to your boyfriend. But right now you felt like you should be, and that was what tipped you off that something was wrong.
“I don’t think-
“It’s fine, I didn’t tighten it too much.” You huff.
“But-
“I said it’s fine!” A puff of smoke blew from your teeth as you tried to reel in your quirk.
“Y/N, that’s enough. You’re being a bigger danger to others than Mei. Go back to the dorms and cool off,” power loader scolds.
Taking your bag you left reluctantly. Who just happened to be walking by? Kaminari. Trying to abscond you couldn’t avoid him.
“Hey baby.” His arm wrapped around your waist and you couldn’t even think to push him away.
Maybe you’re just tired. “Hello love.”
“How have you been lately? I haven’t seen much of you.” He smiles. “I mean I don’t spend to much time with you usually but-
“I-
You look at your boyfriend and decide now is a better time to ask. “Denki, do you love me?”
He froze. It was like his brain was on dialup and someone just picked up the landline. Waving your hand in his face you try to see if the aliens will give your boyfriend back.
“Look you don’t have to answer, I’ve just been feeling a little low lately. Usually I try to solve shit like this on my own but since you’re also involved and I care what you think about me or how you feel about me I jus-
He covers your mouth and hugs you. “Is that even a question? Do I love you?” Kaminari sighs. “Baby I’m in love with you. Now if you’re feeling unloved let me know what I can do to make you feel all my love.”
You laugh a bit pushing him off. “Okay lover boy. We still have things to do.”
You both walked together for a bit before saying,
“Thanks.”
Todoroki
Todoroki wasn’t an expert on other’s feelings. His usual solution to complicated feelings was to eat soba or use his quirks until he got tired. So when he saw you with your wings practically dragging behind you, he didn’t need to understand feelings that much to know. You weren’t feeling well.
Not to mention being in different areas made it a lot harder to talk often. What was getting you down though? Stress. Probably older sibling problems. That didn’t help because you were also a younger sibling. But that’s what happens when you’re one of twelve.
The last straw for Todoroki was probably when you, someone with the ability to fly, fell. “Are you okay?”
“No.” Like a mentos in a soda bottle you shot off. Explaining to Todoroki your recent fears and feelings as of late with all the news not to mention the dangers of his job versus yours.
“Do you love me?” You finally finished off feeling practically empty.
“Yes.”
Todoroki takes your hand in his. “I do love you, just like how you told me you loved me.”
“I doubt taking someone’s pain away and telling them you love them is the same as this. But thank you, Shoto.”
Mirio
Everyone could feel your emotions. Despite your best efforts you weren’t exactly skilled at not using your emotions to control your quirk. At least you knew it worked in the opposite direction. It wasn’t uncommon for you to feel sad, or down but it was usually other people’s emotions and you’d probably get over it later.
But for some reason since it was your own feelings it was much, much worse. It didn’t help that you fought with your dad too.
Dropping your support items you glare. “I never asked to be trained to shoot. You did that all on your own.”
“Y/n, don’t you start with-
“I wish you’d never adopted us! Maybe at least I’d have a reason to feel angry or upset.” You took off returning to your room.
Entering through your balcony you left your shoes outside. You wanted to huddle in your room and possibly cry if that was the type of feeling you were feeling. But a knock at the door broke that train of thought.
“Birdy, is everything okay? You don’t usually make others feel angry or upset,” hearing your boyfriend on the other side of the door you stand up.
If you don’t let him in he’ll invite himself in.
“No.”
Mirio didn’t need much past you weren’t feeling well. “Do you want a hug, or do you want me to help you forget whatever it is?”
“A hug.”
He was big so that meant his hugs were extra comforting. You had to keep yourself from crying too loudly as you held onto him. Trails of incoherent babbling string from your mouth but he could pick up on one. “Do you even love me?”
He frowned at this. “Birdy, first I want you to look at me.”
“Hmm?”
“Do not ever doubt my love for you. If I don’t love you then I’d let you know and do my best to make the break up easy. But I can say without a doubt that I love you.”
This started you crying again. “But how could you love someone like me? related to a criminal. My quirk is…”
“Stop that. Now what did I just say?” Mirio asks.
“That you love me.”
“Good. Let’s go, when was the last time you ate?” He grabs your hand pulling you back into the hall.
Amajiki
Amajiki was always nervous about how you ended up with him. So when you weren’t feeling your best it was a little more obvious to him.
“Y/n.”
You were used to the feeling of needles going into thread to pull it back up again.
“Y/n.”
So why didn’t it feel right?
“For fucks sake. Yagi y/n!”
Confused, you look down seeing that the thread has finished. “Oops.”
Your classmates sigh. “Get out. I don’t know what’s wrong with you today but go figure it out away from all the sharp things.”
You had to admit, your bleeding hand was a compelling argument. “Right.”
Why were you feeling like this? Maybe it was how quickly people turned on your dad, the world loved him and got upset with him when he couldn’t save them. As his child the same thing could happen to you, maybe you wouldn’t feel like this if your big brother wasn’t working to help outside.
Frowning you curl into your bed, hugging the stuffed animals you kept for comfort. “I shouldn’t bother him, he's probably training.”
Holding your phone in your hand you tried to tell yourself it’s a bad idea but the phone rang. Picking it up you answered reluctantly.
“Hey? What’s up?” Forcing your voice to be happy wasn’t working.
“What’s wrong, lovely?”
Pouting you bury your face in your stuffed animals. Your voice was muffled as you spoke.
“I can’t hear-
Lifting your face you finally say. “Do you love me? Would you love me if I couldn’t use my quirk anymore? Would you leave without telling me anything? Wo-
“Lovely.”
“I’m sorry.” You mumble.
“Whatever you’re feeling I feel that all the time. What if you don’t love me, what if your feelings change. But you’re always right there telling me how much you love me.” Amajiki took a moment to breathe. “I love you and if you need anything let me know.”

Splinter [Illumi x Reader]

Tumblr media
“You’re finally pregnant.”
It was as if all of the air in the room was immediately sucked out, leaving you with nothing but the hard, painful beating of your heart. It hurt--all of it. Your heartbeat. The sudden realization about the life growing inside you, and everything that represented. The pain in your knuckles, bruised and achy, as you tightened your fingers on your now-loathsome shared comforter.
"Congratulations, Illumi," you said, voice strained and hoarse. "You got what you wanted."
Another breath came, short, panicked. But you pushed it back in. Panicking wouldn't help, though you wanted to give in, wanted to let it rush over you and take you away from the cold, concrete fact of your pregnancy.
"Well," you said, clipped, harsh. "Since stress is bad for the baby, my request to sleep in my own room is more important than ever, isn't it?"  You glanced at him, nostrils flaring, lips tight. "After all, that's what is most important to you."
On anyone else, surprise might have looked like wide open eyes and a gaping mouth. On Illumi, it was the slight quirk of his head, the tiniest raise of his eyebrows.
“Wives sleep with their husbands,” he said, simply, after a few moments. “Even pregnant wives.”
“Husbands love their wives,” you spat back, and even you were surprised at the venom in your tone. It burned in your chest, a hot match. “And if you think this is some childish outburst, don’t. It’s not an outburst. I don’t love you anymore.” You couldn’t stop the shallow breaths now, the panic, now fueled by anger more than anxiety. “But that’s fine, isn’t it? Because you didn’t marry me for love. And that’s…” You swallowed. “That’s fine. As long as we don’t have to pretend anymore.”
He didn’t say anything. He could have, you thought--he could have said any number of things that might have doused some of your anger. Chief of them being those critical words: “But I do love you.”
But he didn’t. He said nothing. He merely stared at you, a slight crease of annoyance in his expression.
So you did the only thing you could. YOu turned away from him and curled up on your side. Your words were muffled into the pillow.
“And if you want to comment about my behavior as a wife… well. I guess I’m just too stupid to be a proper one, aren’t I?” Your hand went to your belly, but your mind went to what was underneath all that skin, deep inside, growing. “I’m not smart enough to be anything but a womb, I suppose.”
There was rustling from the sheets beside you. Some small part of you hoped--ached--to feel his arms wrap around your torso, to hear him murmur something in your ear. An apology. An explanation. Something, anything.
But there was nothing but the immeasurable silence and, eventually, the barely detectable sound of Illumi’s sleeping breath.
--
You blinked down at the elaborate dinner laid out on the table. It was not only your favorite foods, but your favorite flower as well. All set out on pretty tableware, with a trio of candles in the middle. Illumi didn’t prepare it, of course. He probably told the butlers to get your favorite foods, and favorite flowers, and make it look as romantic as possible
You looked from the dinner to Illumi, who stood behind the chair on the opposite side. No emotion was betrayed on his face, but that wasn’t unusual.
“You think that a fancy dinner is going to fix it?”
Illumi quirked his head, just a little.
“Do you not like it?”
The question was almost startling. If it had been before, maybe it would have softened you, the vulnerability in that question--the sheer rarity of Illumi asking such a thing would have been enough. Before. Not now. Instead you forced yourself to see this for what it was: a gesture that came too late.
You rested your hand on your stomach, which--you thought--had finally begun to show. “You had all the time in the world to consider my feelings over your… ” You searched for the words, which you had rehearsed in your head a thousand times. “Family ego. And you decided that my feelings were worth less than all this.” You gestured, aimlessly, at the house--at the Zoldyck estate, at the metaphorical family itself, nestled within its walls. “You didn’t even try. You didn’t even try, Illumi, that’s the worst thing about all this.”
You took a slow breath, choking on some building emotion. You didn’t want to exert yourself. You didn’t want to end up on the bed, with the family doctor at your side. Not yet, anyway. “You’re too selfish to change. I realize that now.” You smiled, softly, bitterly. “I’m sorry for getting so excited. It’s still too fresh.”
You pulled out your own chair and sat down.
“Let’s eat, shall we? It’s pointless to waste the food.
Even if it would go down tasting like ash in your bitter mouth.
--
You were slipping away. No, Illumi corrected himself. It would be more accurate to say you had already slipped away from his fingers.
He found that he missed the warmth, the twinkling light of your aura and smile. Yet despite his efforts, you were no closer to being your usual self again. You pulled away. You barely talked. You didn’t kiss him. You hardly even looked at him most days.
He thought that the dinner would be enough. Or at least, it would be the metaphorical foot in the door that would lead you to see reason and stop your nonsense. It was done on the advice of his mother, who said that such a gesture would help to smooth over your hurt feelings.
Women are different, she told him. We think with our hearts.
That seemed true enough. You were often emotional. And now you were being unreasonably stubborn, despite a pregnancy which should have (by all rights) pulled you closer to him.
So he had the butlers arrange it all to your liking, down to picking one of your favorite colors for the tablecloth. It was such a romantic gesture, his mother said, cooing when he’d told her the details.
But it didn’t work. If anything, it seemed to solidify your current behavior--creating an even thicker barrier between Him and You, one that he wished he could simply smash through.
But--it was as his mother said, wasn’t it? You thought with your heart. If he wanted to make you see reason, he would have to think from your perspective. Silly as it was, childish as it was.
You were really testing his patience.
He hummed to himself, idly flipping through his memories like pages in a book. This all started with you having an emotional tantrum about his desire for heirs. You felt like he saw you as nothing but an incubator.
That wasn’t true. He saw you as more, and perhaps--if he were to admit such things--he could admit that it took you pulling away to really contemplate his feelings for you.
But you were designed to bear his heirs. That was what your body was for, that was what marriage was for. These were facts, and no amount of hurt feelings on your end could change them.
Still, he reminded himself, you were clearly more emotionally fragile than he anticipated. You needed to be coddled, at least a little. It wasn’t the Zoldyck way, but, you weren’t entirely a Zoldyck, were you? They could train you, yes, but it wasn’t like you were raised here. Like him. Like his brothers.
He needed to show you that you weren’t just the mother of his future heirs. That you were his wife. You were… more.
Simply telling you that wouldn’t work. You wouldn’t believe him, emotional and stubborn as you were.
He sighed to himself, knowing what he had to do, but being irritated with the deception all the same. Such petty deceptions were boring.
In the end, he knew what he must do. He would let you think it didn’t matter, the child growing in your belly, the need for heirs. He would show you that he cared more about you than any future children, hypothetical and otherwise, with a simple offer: get rid of the pregnancy. Don’t have children.
It was a grand sacrifice on his part. Monumental. You would know that, and it would likely shake something loose in you. Hopefully loose enough to get you out of this terrible attitude you’d taken towards him.
Of course…
You didn’t need to know that he was lying.
And if you wouldn’t budge, or should you actually take him up on his generous, sacrificial offer… well. He had an endless supply of needles to change your mind.
He preferred you without one. Truly, he did, and he would take a blood oath on that.
But you could be his wife, all the same, with a needle deftly slipped into your skull.
--
The days continued on, dragging, cold, devoid of anything but your own well-deserved self-pity at your situation. Illumi was there, but even he was devoid of… something that was present before. You couldn’t pinpoint what, exactly.
It was as if the night of the dinner, the words you spat at him from across the table, had finally taken something from him.
Well.
You couldn’t let it bother you, so you tried not to; you nestled into bed as comfortably as you could. You wondered if Illumi would eventually grant you that separate bedroom. Maybe when you were so heavily pregnant that climbing into your marriage--if it could be called that--bed was too difficult.
Illumi, of course, had no problem getting into bed. But he didn’t slide underneath the covers and turn away to sleep, as he had been the past few nights.
Instead, he took an audible breath. Shaky, almost. Nervous? And you looked at him, confused, intrigued by the noise of it. Illumi didn’t usually make much noise.
“Do you want an abortion?”
If a knife were placed at your throat, and you were told to guess any words that might come out of your husband’s mouth for the rest of his lifetime, you could not have guessed the question he asked you.
In fact, you must have misheard, because you didn’t say anything at all. He repeated himself.
All you could manage was a startled, stammered--”What?”
Illumi turned towards you, not taken in your startled expression, but reaching for your hands. You didn’t pull away, but you didn’t lock your fingers in with his, either.
“Would that prove my regret at my previous… behavior?” He regarded you with his large, dark eyes. You couldn’t help but examine his expression minutely, a habit ingrained since you first met him. He looked thoughtful.
But you didn’t have enough time to think hard on it, because he pulled your hands towards his, staring down at your fingers. Your hands were scarred. The fingers, the knuckles, the backs. Some of the scars would fade in time. A few were likely lifelong.
He brought your scarred fingertips to his lips and kissed them, one by one, as he spoke.
“You showed me love in… ways I do not. It was not how I was raised.” His lips were feather-light and warm on your skin. “And you, you are not a Zoldyck. By blood.” His lips lingered on a jagged scar that ran down the line of your thumb. “You think differently. Feel differently. I find that I cannot…” He didn’t finish, and merely laid his cheek on the edge of your fingertips, where your nails had been torn out a few months before by his mother in a particularly painful training session.
He inhaled, his breath hot on your knuckles. He stared at your scars, not your eyes, as he spoke. Every inch of his expression screamed discomfort.
“If you feel like a womb,” he said, repeating your earlier words. “Then I will arrange for an abortion. If you wish. We can try for children later. Or not at all.” The words hung in the air.
“What about the all-important Zoldyck bloodline?” You didn’t hide the bitterness in your voice. That was what started all of this, after all.
Illumi paused. He swallowed, and you marveled at the sound of the thickness in his throat. It was new, and, you wouldn’t lie to yourself--something you wanted to cherish, despite everything.
“I won’t pretend I don’t wish for children. I won’t pretend my family won’t be angry. But I want…” His hands tightened on yours, as if the words were difficult to manage. And, considering the source, they certainly were. “I want you to feel pleased, first. And if the family would like to intervene in your wishes, well, I might simply kill them.”
You didn’t know what to say. You weren’t even crying now, but simply taking in his words, his almost startling new expressions and sounds.
“I am offering sincerely,” he said after a while, and something in his tone told you that every word out of his mouth tonight must have been a wound, a willing fissure crack in his world. Like he was giving you permission to stick your hands inside and pull him open, if that was your wish.
“I know.” You swallowed, and it hurt.
Your hand rested on your stomach.
There was too much bitterness and anger to feel it resolved with one simple gesture, shocking as it was. Too much had been said. Too much had happened.
You didn’t know if you wanted to keep the baby or not. You didn’t know if you wanted to try to rekindle the love you had. You weren’t sure of anything.
All you knew was that Illumi was being sincere and open and vulnerable, in the only way he knew how.
That fact was, at least, something concrete you could hold onto for the night. Maybe it would carry into the morning. Maybe not.
You let your fingers intertwine with his, lightly, your grip so loose you could pull away at any moment.
“Let’s sleep on it, okay?”
Illumi blinked. And nodded.
He didn’t look any more sure of what to do than you.
That, too, was a first.

Nights Like This (Charlie Walker)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Charlie Walker x Reader
Warnings: Some Curse Words, Speaking about death, and a little bit of blood
You and Charlie have been friends since middle school. You are really close to one another, maybe even closer than you thought. A few days after the killing of Olivia he comes to check up on you, and make sure everything is okay.
This is my first time writing on tumblr so hope you enjoy!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was all too much for me. Seeing all of that blood and watching one of my closest friends die right in front of me, and not being able to do anything killed me on the inside. I can’t stop thinking about what that evil bastard did to her.
I sit on my bed holding a picture of Olivia, Kirby, Jill, and I, and watch as my tears drop onto the glass of the picture frame. All I could think about is it should’ve been me. Yeah Olivia had her moments where she could be a bitch, but she was still one of my best friends, and definitely didn’t deserve to die.
I sit there in silence until I hear a small groan come from outside of my window. I tighten my grip on the picture in my hand and make my way to my bay window. You’re not getting me bitch I think. As I get closer to the window, I can feel the sick feeling in my stomach start to rise. I reach for the latch, but I am beat to it by a dark shadowy figure. The door flies open and at first instinct I throw the picture frame as hard as I can.
“OW WHAT THE FUCK Y/N?” The figure says hanging halfway through the window. I then realized, I knew that voice. I run to turn on the the lamp that’s on my dresser. I look back at the window to see Charlie standing there blood trickling from his head.
“Holy Shit, Charlie I’m so sorry, I didn’t know it was you.” I say in a pleading tone hoping he will forgive me for my stupid mistake. “It’s fine Y/N, It’s just a little blood that’s all.” He replies touching his head and wincing in pain. Even though he said it was fine I still felt bad so I offered to clean his wound, he protested at first and said he would do it himself, but I wasn’t taking no for an answer.
We make it to my bathroom. I get the first aid kit out of the medicine cabinet and sit on top of the sink. Charlie makes his way in after me and stands in between my legs. I first get a damp cloth and start wiping the blood off of his forehead, and some that trickled down his face. I start cleaning his wound with peroxide, he flinches.
“Ow that hurt fucker, be gentle.” he whines “I am being gentle, stupid.” I reply continuing to dab at his gash.
“I got you pretty fucking good didn’t I?” I ask with a slight smirk on my face. “Yeah you did, I'm starting to think climbing through your window was a dumb ass idea, especially with a killer on the loose” He says laughing at his own stupidity. “yeah it was, and why were you climbing through the window anyways, we have a front door?” I asked genuinely confused.
“well, I tried that first, but your mom told me that I should give you some space.” he says “but knowing me I can’t ever give you space, and I also had to make sure you were okay, I’ve been really worried about you since what happened to Olivia I know you two were close.” he continues “Awwwww Charlie you care about me.” I say in annoying baby voice “Pussy” I whisper with a small chuckle starting to put ointment on the wound and bandage it up. “Shut up idiot.” he replies laughing at my little remark “But seriously, Y/N/N (Your Nickname) I am so sorry you had to go through that, I really am worried about you all the time now, and I don’t want anything to happen to you, because I love you so so much, you mean everything to me.” he says tear swelling in his eyes
“Charlie you don’t have to worry so much I’m a big girl, I can take care of mys-” I pause thinking back to what he just said “Wait, did you just say you love me or am I hearing shit?” I ask “no you’re not just hearing shit, I am so in love with you I have been in love with you since middle school, especially since our first conversation was about movies. You have always been the only girl I have ever wanted.”
I was speechless, I sit staring at him lost in thought. He tries to start talking again but I cut him off with closing the gap between us. His hands make there way to cup my face as mine go to his hair, after a while I finally pull away. “I love you too Charlie, I always have and I always will.” I tell him.
I slowly start to get close to his face again, but I guess I was taking too long. “Don’t tease me asshole.” He says kissing me once more before helping me down from the sink. We go back to my room, and he lays next to me on the bed. I get closer to him and lay my head on his chest. I slowly start to fall asleep to the sound of his heartbeat, and right before I am out like. I hear Charlie whisper to himself. “What a fucking night.” he kisses the top of my head before slowly dozing off with me.

Press Play Pt. 2
Roman Reigns x Black Female! OC (Xena)
Rating: 18+
Warning: No warning really, just sad times 😔.
“Being the girlfriend to a famous divorced father of 5 wasn’t your plan at 26 years old. You trusted him with your life, so you agreed to film a little something, but now you regret ever meeting him when your whole life is exposed.”
A/N: Last part on next Sunday and it’s gonna be something special. I hope you all enjoy this part and I may or may not have given another cliffhanger.
GIF: @jeysuso
Tumblr media
It’s been a week since the video leak and since you last saw Roman. And let’s just say the media has YET to let up.
“Roman Reigns, Rated R?! Take A Sneak Peak Into The Spicy Life Of The Hot and Heavy Heavyweight.”
“Roman Reigns Purposely Post His Sex Tape In Spite Of Ex-Wife’s New Beau?!”
“Roman’s Slut, Gold Digging Girlfriend EXPOSED For The Clout Chaser She Is.”
“Roman Reigns Losing Fans?! Did He Release His Tape In Order To Suffice His Absence On SmackDown?!”
Yeah it was a lot…
But, nonetheless you had a huge support system around you and they made you feel better.
The video wasn’t that bad as no one saw anything other than the curve of your ass. But you shouting how much of a little cock slut you were. That one part stretched across social media and your Instagram comments was filled with “I’m a little slut” and “Fuck me harder daddy.”
The day of the incident swirled in your head back and forth. The tears in Roman’s eyes was unlike anything you’ve seen before. His deep and uncontrollable breaths broke your heart.
As much as you loved him, he hurt you bad. Nearly 300 missed calls in only a week. 440 text notifications and 50 attempted FaceTime calls. Through your Ring Doorbell, you could see his many attempts to reach you in person.
You were hiding out at your best friend’s house knowing he would try to see you, but you’d have to go home soon since your best friend was going to see her family.
“You’re gonna have to go eventually sis.” You sat on her couch, wig barely on, nails chipped, tissues all around you, and a tub of ice cream as your new best friend. “Do I have to?!” You put on your best puppy dog eyes.
“Sweetie that’s not gonna work on me. I’m gonna see my family and I don’t want to come back to police tape surrounding my front yard.”
Rolling your eyes you sat up and began to clean up. “Look sis, I want to be better. You’ve always been tough and I know you’ve gotten over this. The real problem is, you’re missing Ro.” The mention of his name made you tense.
“Can we not Taylor?!”
“Xena… we have to. I know you miss him, but he didn’t mean to.” “HE HURT ME TAY.” The tears began to form in your eyes at the thought of your fall out.
Hands on hips, Taylor wasn’t feeling your reaction.
“That man has made you the happiest I’ve ever seen. It’s been THREE YEARS, you can’t just ditch out on him for something you don’t even talk about anymore. Every night it’s, ‘why did he hurt me?!’ ‘I thought he loved me.’ ‘He was supposed to be the one, we talked about marriage and kids’, and you just want to throw that away over a mistake. If I recall you agreed to a sex tape, and of course you didn’t want it out there, but it is and the best thing you could is hear him out.”
You sat down, absorbing everything Taylor just said and she was right.
Roman made a mistake, a really, stupid mistake. But, you knew his heart and knew he didn’t mean what he did. You weren’t the only suffering in this situation. His kids were suffering, his family, his business, and he himself was suffering.
“You know what you need to do Xe.”
“I do.”
“You guys still have that baecation booked and I’m pretty sure you can’t cancel.”
Your eyes jumped out of its socket in realization. You and Roman planned a little trip to Bora Bora to spend more time together.
And now… you had to come face to face with him.
Roman’s POV
I’ve called and called and called, but to no avail. Even though the clips that circulated are no longer visible, nothing can ever be erased from the internet.
My ex-wife’s barking finally stopped. My kids last four kids are pretty young, and don’t understand. My oldest daughter definitely knew what was going on. Luckily, she didn’t disown me as her father, but she definitely was disappointed. I didn’t teach her to do that, so I shouldn’t have done that.
But, the only thing on my mind was Xena.
Her smile, her eyes, her hair, her stunning body, the way she laughed, the way she hugged me, the way she kissed me, the way she looked at me , and just the overall way she loved me.
I never felt so loved by someone in my life.
I stared at the diamond ring resting on my bedside table. I came up with the idea to plan a getaway to Bora Bora, which Xena thought was just to spend more time together. But, in reality it was plan to propose.
I’ve been with this… well I guess was in a relationship with this woman for three years. My parents loved her, my kids, and even my ex-wife had a relationship with her. Lying in bed alone at night was something I haven’t felt in a long time.
The tears began to well just at the mere thought of her gorgeous smile and beautiful chemistry between us. I began to sob, missing her badly.
The trip still fluttering in my mind, as we had to leave tonight and I was afraid I’d be leaving by myself. As my tears began to dry, I heard my phone ding. Strengthening my self back up, I pick up my phone and my mouth dropped.
“La’u Tausala 🤩😈.”
iMessage
I quickly open up my phone wondering what she had to say after ignoring me for so long.
“Don’t forget about the trip, you’re supposed to pick me up at 6 tonight.”
My heart couldn’t stop beating. I could tell she wasn’t really mad at me, cause she’d totally would block me.
“Of course, I’ll be there at 6. Also, I’m really sorry angel. It was never my intent to release that tape, it was private and I invaded your privacy. I hope you could have it in your heart to understand how remorseful I am. I love you baby with every fiber in my being, and I can’t see myself without you. I’ll see you tonight ❤️.”
Seen
Xena’s POV
It was 5:54 and I was currently wrestling my luggage, trying to get it to close.
It was a trip to Bora Bora, so of course I wasn’t bailing. But, I really didn’t want to see Roman right now. Yet, Taylor was right, I missed him badly and I was totally over the comments and headlines.
The hurt in my heart still yearned and longed. Then, the doorbell rang. I ran downstairs and looked out the window. Roman’s black Escalade stood tall in my driveway. I took a deep breath and opened the door.
There he was…
Tall, dark, and handsome.
His tan and lean body clad in an all black sweatsuit, all black Jordan’s enclosing his feet.
His hair kept well in a tight ponytail. Not a strand out of place.
“Hey.”
You draw from your thoughts and spoke up.
“Hey, umm I’m still trying to get my suitcase to close so I’ll out in a second.”
“I can help out if you want.”
I contemplated whether or not I should let him in, but I just couldn’t.
“No, I-I got it. Just wait in the car for me please.” He smiled lightly and headed back to the car. I close the door and held my back against it.
“I don’t even know what’s gonna happen on this trip and honestly I don’t wanna know.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What’s gonna happen on the baecation?! Find out next week on the final part to “Press Play”
AITA for being upset my partners went to see a movie without me while I’m in the hospital?
I’m 23 years old and vaguely fem-aligned. I’m in a polyamorous relationship with two other people, a 22 year old woman and a 23 year old man. We have all known each other for a long time and moved in together a couple of years ago.
I’ve had horrible health complications my whole life and I’m frequently traveling for that reason. The hospital I go to is in my hometown, which is a state over from where we live, and I often have to be away from home for a couple of weeks at a time. (I know it seems inconvenient to make trips like that, but there’s not a hospital closer with the means to take care of my treatment and this is the most viable option until we have the means to try and move closer.) Before anyone asks, no, I’m not going to disclose my exact diagnosis. I don’t want to get into my detailed medical history but it gets especially bad during hot months like July, so I’ve been away from home for a few weeks now.
This is kind of embarrassing to type and I promise I’m not trying to give a sob story, but I feel like it’s important for context. Growing up as a little girl who was often bedridden in the hospital, Barbie was a huge part of my life. I spent a lot of time in bed watching old Barbie movies, and while I wouldn’t say I’m a fanatic or anything pretty much any happy memory I have from growing up involves Barbie in some capacity, so I was really, really excited to see this new movie. Me and my partners made plans to see it when I got home.
I was supposed to get home on July 20th. That didn’t happen, though, because kind of unexpectedly my condition worsened and I was told I needed to stay for surgery and then recovery. I told my partners this. We didn’t talk about our plans to see the movie, but I guess I just figured postponing would be obvious. It’s not like we had reservations or had bought tickets already or anything. But I guess it wasn’t obvious, because they went to see it anyway without me. This is where I think I may be overreacting a little, because I didn’t even know they had gone to see the movie until they got back - they didn’t discuss it with me at all. I was really hurt by this; it’s not like my stay at the hospital has been extended for so long that the movie will be out of theatres by the time I get back. The two of them know my medical history and knew how excited I was about this movie, and I wanted to watch it with them - I know I could go see it on my own or we could all just go see it again, but I feel like it’s not the same? Mostly I was just upset they went without saying anything to me. I think if they had asked if I was okay with them going without me I would have said it was fine.
What really upset me though is that I brought this up to them, and while they apologized it was half-hearted and they both said they didn’t think they’d done anything wrong. Again, they know my medical history. My condition is very debilitating to me. This isn’t the first time in my life I’ve had to reschedule or outright cancel plans because of it. This was kind of a shock to me because they’ve always been understanding of that, but this felt like blatant disregard for my feelings. This was a movie with a lot of emotional significance to me, and I wanted to see it with the people I loved, and it really hurt not only to not be able to go opening night because my physical condition wouldn’t allow for it, but for them to act like apparently my being there wasn’t important? I kind of shut down during the conversation and just ended it, I’m not sure if they know I’m still upset but I’m afraid to bring it up again. I haven’t talked to either of them for a few days now, semi-under the guise of being busy (I say “semi” because again I did just get surgery, but I’ve definitely had down hours I could have messaged them. I’ve just been avoiding it.)
Am I being unreasonable? It feels so stupid to be this upset over the Barbie movie, of all things.
What are these acronyms?
I Heart ?
Tumblr media
Crosshair x reader
Who knew simply loving a man would be this difficult
Fluff - Angst (I mean it’s Crosshair)
Pt 6 of I Heart ?
“And he said and I quote I will not be your lap dog.” I put air quotations around the sentence.
“Lap dog?” Echo trailed off…
“I mean what in Ewok territory is that supposed to mean?” I huffed as I paced around my kitchen, cooking breakfast for the two boys.
Echo and Fives sat on my kitchen stools watching as I flailed my arms about, before flipping the eggs.
“Maybe it’s because-” Echo didn’t get to finish his sentence.
I turned to the calmer domino twin with a sharp look, “I never once said I wanted him to be my lapdog or even imply it for that matter!”
“He’s a loose hinge.” Fives interviewed with a shrug, “I’ve heard stories from the other boys about how temperamental he is. You know, I can shoot him in the hand if you want? Send him back to Camino where 99 can whip some sense back into him.”
“No you don’t need to hurt him.” I chuckled, “And I won’t let poor 99 suffer the wrath of Crosshair. The poor man has already been through enough.”
“But if Crosshair hurt your feelings, it’s only right that I get to hurt him back.” Fives tried to explain his reasoning, “Besides I can get Kix, Jesse, and Hardcase and I know Fox will be in on it too. I just have to give them a call and we will-” Fives was already getting out of his seat.
I shook my head quickly, “No no. I don’t want any violence. Promise me.” I held my pinky out, “Fives.”
Fives sighed in defeat, sitting back in his chair. I was lucky that he conceded none the less as he wrapped his pinky around mine to ensure the promise.
I pulled my hand away from his and placed both of my hands on the counter. Fives was quick to pull his mug of hot chocolate closer to him, protecting it as if it was the most precious thing in the world to him and maybe it was… He did love chocolate after all.
I almost laughed though at the thought that he would somehow believe that I would try and take his drink away, but my mind was occupied over another clone.
“I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.” I muttered in defeat, “Maybe he truly doesn’t like me? If that’s so then it might be best if I just hold off from confessing my feelings to him.”
“Whether he does or he doesn’t, I think you should because it would lift a weight off your chest.” Echo explained, “Besides…” Echo trailed off unsure if he should be saying this.
I raised an eyebrow at him, “What?”
“It’s nothing.” He decided on, “But I think it would be best if you go and talk to him. I’m being serious.”
Fives nodded, “Echoe is right and I believe if you don’t get this off your chest I think you might go mad.”
I remained quiet, thinking all my options through as I plated their breakfast.
“Crosshair is at the base today?” I asked softly as I placed the two hearty meals in front of them.
They both looked at the meals like two hungry bears.
“Pretty sure.” Echo nodded a grated full look on his face as he picked up his fork, “Thank you, this is amazing.”
“Of course.” I nodded, “You know I have to make sure my boys are fed.”
“I bet he’s at the shooting range. He’s always there.” Fives concluded, his mouth already full, “This is so freaking good! Thank you!”
I smiled at him, “There is plenty more if either of you are still hungry.”
I said before striding to the front door and grabbing my coat while I slipped my shoes on.
“You’re going then?” Echo asked, a knowing looking in his eyes and a silent prayer to the force that Crosshair won’t do anything stupid.
Even if Echo is now apart of the bad batch and knows how smart each of them can be, he also knows how cruel Crosshair is when facing something he has no control over.
“I’m going to work to work.” I confirmed causally, but they could read me like a book, “Help yourselves to anything in the fridge and like always make yourselves at home. You know where everything is, I’ll be back sometime later after work.”
“Give him hell.” Fives gave me a thumbs up.
“Love you boys.” I gave them a wave goodbye, “Have fun today!”
“Love ya too!” They both yelled and as expected went straight to my fridge.
“I’m done playing around.” I muttered to myself as I waved down a taxi.
I’m going to walk right in there and tell him how I feel… I’m going to tell him… I’m going to… I’m going… I’m…
“Wrecker couldn’t beat my score with an Armageddon on his back.” Crosshair gave his infamous grin towards his brother and leader of the group.
I couldn’t help, but admire his laid back form as he talked with his brother about the last mission that they had before the Winters day holiday.
“Hm.” Hunter chuckled, “Try telling him that.”
“Oh I will.” Crosshair smirked.
I’m going…
I turned on my heel trying to get as far away as possible. My nerves got the best of me as I tried to make a quick escape. My office will do, no one ever goes there.
Force, I can’t face him like this. Why couldn’t I be drunk? It would have made this a lot easier.
“Oof.” I said the moment I turned, bumping into a hard chest, “I’m sorry!” I rubbed my nose as I looked up to find him…
“Steven.” I muttered as I took a careful step backwards.
“Hey! It’s been a while!” He gave me a smile that left me wanting to shrivel away.
“Ah well I’ve been busy.” I chuckled nervously, “I actually have something important that I need to go take care of so if you would excuse me.” I tried to walk around him but he grabbed my wrist.
“Can I get your number now?” He pressed, “I’ve been patient.”
As if. I thought about all the times he has asked me already. If only he would take a hint.
“I’m sorry, like I said I don’t give my number out easily.” I told him trying to sound as apologetic as I could.
“Yeah? Well I asked a bunch of the other scientist under your station and they said they had your number so what’s the deal?” His eyes squinted at me with impatience as if I was the one in the wrong here.
Why couldn’t he just take the hint and move on? There are plenty others he could pursue. I’m sure someone would like him as much as he likes them. It’s just that someone is most definitely not me.
“Look,” I sighed hoping to be as gentle as possible, “I’m sorry and I don’t want to embarrass you like this at work, but I’m not interested in anything you have to offer me. I would very much like us to be respectful coworkers with one another.” I explained, “Now if you could please let go of me, I have a meeting to get to.”
“Why do you always have to lie to me huh? Why?” His hand began to squeeze harder around my wrist, “Why won’t you just give me a chance? I could treat you well!”
I hissed at the pain, “Steven let go. You’re hurting me.”
“No!” He seethed, “Tell me why!”
“I already told you! I’m not interest Steven, now let go!” I tried to yank myself free from his grasp.
“Just give me a chance dammit!” He got the attention of others as he raised his voice, “I’m the perfect gentleman! I brings you flowers, I make sure you get home safe! I even get you gifts!”
“I never asked you to and I didn’t even tell you where I live! I don’t like you and I never will! Now let me go!” I yelled trying to yank my arm away.
My breathing began to pick up as old memories began to flicker in front of my eyes… The war… The screams… Being held down… My parents…
“I don’t know anything I swear!” I screamed, thrust back into that moment… A moment I only wish to forget, “I want to go home!”
It was then that Steven raised his hand, ready to strike my face. My eyes widened in fear and I squeezed them shut waiting for the impending blow… But it never came.
“Usually I let others handle their own fights.” Crosshair’s voice rung threw my ears and I opened my eyes to see him holding Steven’s raised arm, “But you don’t know when to stop so…”
Crosshair twisted Steven’s arm with one quick movement, the scientist groaning in pain as he held onto his wrist.
“Look clone.” Steven glared up at the towering sniper, “This is between me and her so why don’t you just back off and go back to the tube you were created out of.”
That’s it.
My fist reared back before I could talk sense in my self and in just a blink of an eye my fist connected with his nose. An audible crack was heard as well as his screech of pain as he let go of my wrist to stumble back.
“Have more respect for a soldier who puts his life on the line to protect your weasel self.” I glared at him.
I couldn’t even say that I didn’t feel at least a little proud at my job well done.
“And you can have this back, I don’t want your gifts.” I stated as I went to take off the bracelet.
“Don’t.” It was Crosshair who spoke leaving me a bit confused.
“What?” Steven asked appalled, “I didn’t give you that!” He shook his head as he stumbled away to a few of his buddies.
I looked to the bracelet confused, “Who…” I trailed off before looking to Crosshair, “I’m sorry he spoke to you like that.” I apologized, turning my head to where Crosshair was standing… Or where he use to be standing.
His longs strides had him half way down one of the halls already. My force, that many is quick.
“That was one hell of a punch.” Hunter commented, stepping in beside me.
“Thanks.” I trailed off in slight defeat for he wasn’t the person I wished to hear that from.
“He’s never had anyone stick up for him.” Hunter said staring down the same hall that I was, “He doesn’t know how to process what just happened properly if you are wondering why he left so quickly.”
“Oh…” My heart melted a bit at the thought, “I see.”
“What you said back their…” Hunter trailed off and I knew what he was referring to.
“It was nothing.” I waved him off quickly, “Just some old memories.”
I turned to Hunter, one of the few people who understood the mind that was Crosshair.
“Does he like me?” I asked, one to change the subject and two… To find out how the sniper really feels about me.
Hunter looked at me with surprise, “What?”
“I like him and I want to tell him as such, but I don’t know if he feels the same way so do you know if… Well if he likes me?” I asked again.
“I think you should find that out for yourself. It’s best you be honest and tell him how you feel. It might take him some time to process that as well, but once he accepts you as part of his small circle then you are in it for life.” Hunter said before walking away.
Being apart of his close circle doesn’t seem too bad. He’s still going to get a strong word or two from me though with his self righteous attitude problem.
I can’t help, but wonder… Why did he say don’t when I tried to take this bracelet off?
I fiddled with the charm on my bracelet.
It was then that it clicked. Of course it wasn’t Steven who got me the bracelet, it was Crosshair!
“Hey!” I yelled out to Crosshair before he got too far away.
But the reaction I was hoping for didn’t happen, it only made him speed up.
“Seriously.” I mumbled as I started to jog after him, “Crosshair! Stop!”
He only glanced back at me before turning a corner.
I scoffed. At least you’re heading towards my office. You’re not getting away from me this time.
It took everything in me to break into a sprint, I practically threw myself into him as I turned around the corner.
“For the love of clankers woman!” He hissed as he grabbed onto me to keep me from knocking us both to the ground.
“My office. Now.” I panted as I slammed my hand against the panel, successfully opening the door.
He only rolled his eyes, but relented as he stepped into the room. I followed him, making sure to shut the door behind me.
“What do you want?” He crossed his arms.
“Well first I want to say thank you for what happened back there.” I said as I tried to catch my breath.
He nodded his head stiffly, “That it?”
I huffed, “No! You.” I stepped forward, “You kissed me! And I know that it meant something to you just as it means something to me.”
He shook his head before heading towards the door.
“I know you got me this bracelet!” I practically yelled… Pleaded for him to just listen.
He froze, his hand above the panel.
“I don’t know why you didn’t tell me sooner or why you kept it a secret, but I don’t care because I know you have your reasons and I know deep down in that closed off way of yours, you like me.” I spoke quickly, but I knew my point got across from how his shoulders tensed.
“I like you Crosshair.” I said a lot more gently, “I really do Cross so please don’t push me away…”
I took a breath as I waited for a response that as usual was only silence.
“Please say something.” I pleaded with him though his words however short felt like a thousand knives in my heart.
“I don’t like you.” He said barely above a whisper.
“Yes you do.” I said stubbornly.
“No I don’t!” He yelled spinning around to face me, “I don’t love you! Why can’t you get that through your thick head?”
My voice matched his in fierceness and anger, “Because I know what being in love looks like and what it doesn’t and you are! And I don’t care what you say or what you think of me because I don’t think of you as some lap dog. I think of you as a man who lives to fight for what he believes in so believe in us!” I stepped over to the sheet that covered the gift I have been working on for month, “I made this for you because I lo-”
“I don’t believe in us!” He said exasperated, “We live in a life that we could die any day! I can’t even fathom settling down with anyone, do you hear me?”
I looked up at him in shock as I felt my world crumble, but that didn’t seem to dissuade him. It seemed to fuel him.
“You think I got you that? Well you’re wrong!” He lied straight through his teeth as he refused to look me in the eyes.
I knew that he was lying, but it still cut deep because why would he have to lie if i already knew the truth.
He didn’t stop there however…
“You think I kissed you last night because I have feels for you?” He scoffed giving me a once over, “I was drunk and you were there. That’s it.”
He pressed his hand against the panel to open the door.
He barely gave me a glance as he said, “I won’t ever love someone who couldn’t even survive on a battlefield.”
I couldn’t fight the tears as I gripped on the sheet, watching him and any chance that I had with him walk out the door.
I won’t ever love someone who couldn’t even survive on a battlefield.
I scoffed at the words. What does he even know about me? He knows nothing of my life before, of why I was here on this stupid planet. He knows nothing. Nothing and he made it very clear, he never will. I thought as I wiped my tears away.
10 call me when ur sober w drysdale!
Angst: 10. "Call me when you're sober" w/ Jamie Drysdale
Tumblr media
Immature
Jamie just turned 21, and every weekend since we’ve been going out to the bars. It was fun at first but Jamie gets really goofy to the point He is just childish. I honestly never got really upset about it because he could turn into an angry drunk instead, he’s just very immature.
Some of the things he says, are questionable, or their jokes that end up hurting my feelings slightly. Tonight we are all sitting at the bar table, and Jamie begins telling them a story that involves some pretty dirty details.
“Jamie no“ I say, as he Continues with the story, and he looks at me
“why babe it’s funny“ he laughs out, taking a swig of his beer, “ random parking lot she just took her pants off”
All the guys are laughing when I shake my head covering my face, “Jamie, stop”
“it’s okay” he laughs again, “they’ll think it’s funny”
“Jamie, you’re embarrassing me”
“we all have slutty moments“ he says, referring back to a story
“what is that supposed to mean?” I ask him as at this point I was embarrassed to the point that I was getting angry with him.
“you were kind of a slut” he says laughing, but I he can tell that I’m not laughing, “it’s okay I liked it”
The rest of the guys at the table saw that I was angry, and stopped laughing, and just looked between Jamie and I. One of the boys excuse himself from the table, and the rest followed, leaving Jamie and I there.
“babe don’t be a buzz kill” Jamie says, watching his friends leave the table
“I’m too sober for this and you’re too drunk, call me when you’re sober” I say as I got up, knowing this is going to turn into a fight.
“fine I’ll see you later then“ he says, is slightly hurt, my feelings that he didn’t wanna resolve it now. but I’m glad he didn’t in a public place.
“no I’m going home. To my apartment” I say walking out of the bar, then down to my apartment. I typically stay at Jamie and Trevor’s even when they’re out of town. we were almost at the stage where I was completely moved into his and I would sublet my lease to someone. But it’s nights like these where we getting stupid fights I’m glad I still have my apartment.
The next morning, I woke up to over 20 text messages and missed calls from Jamie. I skim through the messages and they all basically say the same thing about how he’s sorry he didn’t mean to embarrass me or hurt my feelings. I decide to call him even though I know he still asleep since it is pretty early and he had a late night. the phone only rings it once or twice before he picks up.
“Hey Y/n, I’m so sorry. You were right I shouldn’t of said anything like that about the personal stuff between us. and I’m sorry I called you a slut. I really didn’t mean it in a bad way, but I know I shouldn’t of said it at all. please come back sleeping in his bed without you so weird and I hate it.” he says before I even got a chance to say hi
“ I know you’re sorry. But Jimmy, every time you drink, you act so childish. I’m not your mother I’m your girlfriend and if this is going to work, you’re gonna have to listen to me when I tell you that you’re drinking too much. And in last nights case, if you are embarrassing, me with personal stuff, you need to stop when I tell you to stop”
“I know, I promise you with every ounce of my being that I will never ever embarrass you like that again. And I promise you I didn’t finish the story after you left”
“good, I’m glad you finally listen to me after I left”
“ yeah cause I didn’t want you to leave. Can you please come over I miss you.”
“Okay, I guess I’ll let you go to the doghouse” I say, with a little laugh, making him laugh along as well.
For the touch prompts - 45
I feel like I’m still riding the Steve with glasses bandwagon. Poor dude would have to get migraines from that many head knocks, so checking temp when he’s had a terrible migraine? Or literally anything you know. I love your Steve so any Steve-related prompt is amazing 💛
You’re too cute, thank you babe! I hope this is okay! 🧡
Finding Steve lazing on the couch during a day off of work wasn’t unusual, especially if a basketball game was on, or he’d managed to take one of his favourite movies home.
Finding Steve in bed during the day was something entirely rare and there wasn’t a sound when you entered the Harrington household around lunchtime. The driveway was empty apart from his car, no sign of his parents and the television was switched off, the downstairs eerily silent.
So you padded upstairs, shoes left at the front door and you were surprised to find your boyfriend in bed, the curtains closed and his face pressed into his pillow. His shirt was off, broad shoulders bare and flexed as he pushed his arms underneath, eyes squeezed closed and brow furrowed.
“Steve?”
He blinked at your voice, eyes a little glassy and bleary looking and you immediately felt a wave of concern wash over you. You walked softly into the room, noting the few of painkillers and the now almost dry flannel sitting on his nightstand.
“Hey baby,” his voice was hoarse, like he’d been asleep for a while. “I didn’t hear you come in, m’sorry.”
You shook your head, sitting gingerly on the edge of the mattress, a hand soothing over the length of his back. He pushed his head closer to you, cheek resting against your knee as he closed his eyes again, like it hurt too much to focus.
“Don’t need to say sorry,” you murmured. “Are you okay? What’s wrong?”
“Migraine” your boyfriend answered, nose scrunching, “I think at least.”
You hummed sympathetically, your palm smoothing up his spine to brush over his hair, coming to rest on his forehead. Steve grumbled and pouted but you ignored him, coaxed him onto his back against the pillow instead.
He was all flushed skin and rosy cheeks, a little too warm and clammy. You spoke even more quietly, noticing how he winced when he moved against the sheets, the shuffle of them against his skin overwhelming.
“Oh, my poor baby. You seem pretty warm.” Your thumb rubbed a gentle circle at his temple and Steve sighed, melting for you. “Have you taken some painkillers recently?”
The boy nodded, shuffling back down into his nest of pillows and sheets, his hands grabbing at your waist in order to coax you in beside him. You smiled even though he couldn’t see it, his eyes still closed, lashes fanning pretty over the highs of his cheeks.
“You want a hug?” You asked despite knowing the answer.
“Please.”
You crawled in next to him, head tilted up so Steve could push his face into your neck like you knew he wanted to, nose pressed to your throat and he sighed like he’d been waiting for it all day.
“You know,” you whispered into his hair. “Maybe your headaches wouldn’t be as bad if you wore your glasses more, hmm?”
Steve grumbled into your skin, lips moving against your collarbone and he wound his arms around you a little tighter, like he could get out of the conversation by loving on you a little more than he already was.
You couldn’t really make out his entire response, but some of it sounded like “look stupid.”
You chose to ignore it, acting like you had heard the way he insulted himself and hummed thoughtfully instead, running your fingers through the ends of the hair at the nape of his neck.
“I like your glasses,” you told him conversationally, voice still impossibly soft. You dropped a kiss to his forehead, another to the corner of his eye, just brushing over his lashes. “You look real handsome in them.”
You could feel Steve still, like he was taking a second to listen to your words, your voice and his hand brushed underneath your shirt, palm warm and rough against your ribs like a ‘really?’
“They make your eyes look even prettier,” you kept talking, a hand tapping at his chin as you spoke, waiting to see if he’d pull away enough to look at you. He did.
His eyes were all caramel and brown sugar when he met your gaze, still a little sleepy but open nonetheless. You smiled, nudged your nose against the boy’s and kissed his cheek.
“They do?”
You nodded, pleased that he seemed willing to listen. You knew Steve hated his glasses, he never wore them outside of the house and you finding them in his room one day had even been a mistake. He’d seemed embarrassed, hesistent to admit that he suffered from headaches and bad migraines, that sometimes too much noise and light made him ache.
You weren’t surprised. Not with the injuries you’d patched up, cuts on foreheads, bruises that spanned from his cheek to his scalp, black eyes that stayed for weeks.
“Oh yeah,” you told him, voice a conspiratol whisper, all faux drama. “Don’t tell anyone, but I totally dig them.“
Steve snorted, wincing a little at the noise and you soothed a head over the nape of his neck in apology, happy you made him laugh but sorry that it cause him pain.
“You’re an idiot,” he said but it was full of affection, sounding like a declaration of something sweet rather than an insult. “I dig you too, babe.”
The next day, you walked into Family Video during your break and you smiled brighter than the sun when you spotted your boyfriend behind the counter, hands full of old tapes and his glasses slipping down the bridge of his nose.
~~~~~~
The day starts off well.
You’re about a year into your relationship with Matt, whom you’d met through a fundraiser dinner that had been held by your previous job as a paralegal at Davis & Cooper. Nelson, Murdock, & Page had been in attendance as well, and the second Karen introduced you to Matt, the two of you had been smitten. After a string of failed relationships, this felt like fate—this was the man you’d be with for a long, long time.
Of course, finding out he was Daredevil had put a little damper on the relationship for a bit, but you’re doing better now. You didn’t blame Matt for hiding that side of him when you had secrets of your own.
Now, you’re working at Matt’s firm, taking over the paralegal position from Karen, and today had started off well. It’s a busy morning—you have a lot of those—but most of the time, the work feels good. It feels good to know that you’re helping people, no matter how small your role might be. Plus, it’s nice to know that you’re working with your boyfriend and friends. It’s a much better environment than Davis & Cooper, and you’re not even biased about that.
But things are different today, because around two hours after the office had opened, you’d had to deal with a particularly stubborn man who hadn’t agreed with the methods set by the firm, and it had set something off inside of you.
You’d been diagnosed with anxiety a couple of years ago, right around the time you’d started out at Davis & Cooper (funny timing, right?) and were on medication for it. But, as luck would have it, you’d run out the previous week and hadn’t had time to refill your prescription.
Now, you guess, you’re paying the price for it.
Your head spins when you get up from your desk, and you have to steady yourself against it with your hip, holding onto the file in your hands tightly so you don’t drop it. Your breath catches in your throat, pulse hammering in your head. It feels like there’s a vice around your ribs, squeezing your organs into paste.
Shit, shit, shit. You take a deep breath, silently as you can, but it rattles in your lungs. And, well, nothing you do could ever be truly silent when you’re dating and working with Daredevil.
“Are you okay?” Matt asks, as if knowing he’s on your mind.
Your head jerks up, eyes landing on him. “What?”
“Your heart,” he says. “It’s beating quicker than usual, and your breathing is uneven. Is everything okay?”
“Yeah,” you say, even though you know he’ll sense the lie and call you out for it later. “I’m fine. Promise.”
Matt’s glasses hide most of his emotions, but you can see the tightening of his face. Still, he doesn’t say anything, just nods and turns back to his work. The lie only makes your chest feel even more constricted, and you have to grip the file to steady your hands.
You continue working, going about the next few hours with your anxiety still high in your throat. You’ve been living with it for long enough that you’re usually pretty good at hiding it, even when it’s bad. Medication has helped too—when you’re consistent with it, it’s almost nonexistent. Right now, none of the clients seem to notice anything. Karen and Foggy don’t either. Which is good, because the last thing you’d want is for your stupid anxiety to slow you all down.
But, yeah, there’s Matt. Matt is bound to notice. He notices almost everything.
“Sweetheart, I need to talk to you for a second.”
You catch Karen’s eye across the room, and she shrugs. You get up and walk unsteadily towards Matt’s office and find him sitting behind his desk, face eerily blank.
“Shut the door,” he says quietly.
Once you do, you take the seat across from him. “Is everything okay?”
“Are you?”
You freeze. It feels like there’s a bee crawling along your neck, buzzing incessantly. It doesn’t feel good.
“Your heart has been beating almost twice as fast as it usually does,” Matt continues at the same volume. “Your breathing hasn’t evened out. You got lightheaded earlier. And, baby, you lied to me about it.” His voice breaks off a little at the end, and your heart cracks. “You’re in pain. I don’t—I don’t know what’s going on. Please, if you can—please tell me.”
You stay silent for a moment, mouth dry. Your chest aches. Your hands are trembling. Your head hurts.
“What is it?” he asks gently, as if he can sense your nerves. “You can tell me anything. If you’re sick or hurt, I want to be able to help you.”
You clear your throat, and when you speak, it feels like the words are made of broken glass. “I think I’m going to have an anxiety attack, Matt.”
He straightens up, worry creasing his forehead. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“We’re so busy today,” you say as he gets up from his seat and rounds the desk to stand in front of you. He reaches up, cupping your cheek, fingers pressing to your pulse point. You lean into his touch, eyes sliding shut, and it’s then that you feel a tear slip down your cheek. “I just—I didn’t want to be an inconvenience.”
“You’re never an inconvenience, sweetheart,” he says softly, leaning down and kissing your forehead. “What do you need, baby? Do you need to go home?”
“No, I’ll be fine,” you say. You hesitate. “Can you just hold me for a few minutes?”
“Of course.”
He pulls you onto the couch squeezed against one wall of his office, and he wraps his arms around you, letting you lean into him. He smells like cinnamon-tinged aftershave and clean laundry, a combination that’s so distinctly him that it immediately soothes every nerve in your body. His arms, strong from being Daredevil for so many years, are better than any weighted blanket, and before long, you feel yourself turning to putty against him.
Matt presses a kiss to the crown of your head. “Heart’s slowing down.”
You hum. Your chest doesn’t feel as tight anymore. It makes it easier to talk. “I got diagnosed a few years ago. Usually it’s not that bad, but today…”
“What happened?” he asks.
“I haven’t been able to refill my medication,” you confess. “Haven’t had time.”
“We’re going to lunch right now,” he says.
You pull away, alarmed. “We’re not on lunch for another couple hours.”
“I’m taking you to the pharmacy, and while we’re waiting for your prescription to get filled, I’m going to buy burgers for both of us,” Matt says. “If you want, of course.”
There’s a tightness in your chest again, but not because of anxiety. It’s because you just—you love this man so much. It hurts, but it’s a good pain. The best kind, because it means you’re alive, and you have him.
“I love you,” you say, leaning in and kissing him. He smiles against your lips. “Thank you.”
“Anything for you, sweetheart.”
~~
And, well. They’re the best damn burgers you’ve ever had in your entire life.
