Au where Danny became a halfa at a very young age but instead of popping out of the portal as Phantom, he appeared in a the DCU and caused the formation of another Lazarus Pit. Danny slept inside the pit, too scared to come out for a long time. His instincts told him to stay hidden from these people so he did.

Well, until he heard about the "Demons Head" having a grandson a little bit younger than him and decided to invisably follow the wierd ninjas back to thier leader. He was so lonely, hopefully this Damian would be good to play with.

This is how Damian got his "Imaginary Friend"

Danny only ever showed himself once to Talia after she scolded Damian for lying and Danny didn't want Damian to get in trouble. Talia then switched gears to "Wait, how did you get in here?"

"The puddle."

Talia paused for a moment, considering what that meant before asking for clarification. Needless to say when she found out this perfectly human looking boy was some type of monster that had crawled out of the Lazarus Pit to play with her son she was a little shaken.

grrm having stannis baratheon be a harsh and often unlikable character who is nonetheless first introduced through the eyes of someone who loves him and basically raised him as a son was kind of genius tbh. the reader hears so much about stannis throughout agot but never actually sees him on page, and that one chapter really does cut straight to the heart of the character. every time i see someone hating on him i’m like dude didn’t you read the prologue of a clash of kings? that’s maester cressen’s sad sullen boy you’re talking about!

this is a kind of morbid question i guess, but have you thought about the details of machete's assassination? who did it, were they paid off by someone else, how did they kill him, so forth? i've mostly been imagining a julius caesar type situation but im curious if that part of the story took shape in your mind too

I monologued about it a bit in the tags of this post not too long ago (fair warning, it's morbid)

#it wasn't quite as flashy as Caesar's but the themes overlap #the assassin was a professional paid killer but the jury's still out on who commissioned the murder #he thwarted a couple of earlier attempts #at least one old-fashioned stabbing and I've been tempted to give him a mild hemlock poisoning #but the survivability of those is so poor it might be too unrealistic #answered #pomgore
