big fight around lust/ozzie's place that involves m&m and loona + we know fizzarolli is going to make another appearance, so i wonder how that'll connect potentially. also, new villain?

obvs the whole section of CHERUB working with DHORKS and this massive thing/portal:

john waters big villain episode???? (ghostfuckers from the looks of things)

also more crossdressing in that same episode + millie vs possessed blitz? both millie and blitz giving some evil dead type vibes?

more on stolas' whole social sphere and potential judgement and hell's class politics related to his dating blitz + p much confirmed that blitz will not take stolas' gift in the spirit it was intended

also, "you fucks think you can do this every time-" feels not just like it's about the wider class issues in hell, but maybe like it's personal (potentially with verosika? although it does seem like it's canon that he had more than a little bit of a hand in ending that relationship, so could just be him echoing everything he's been seeing in the treatment of imps and putting that onto stolas in this moment)

and then "thank you blitz, for making me so happy, even for a little while" is during this moment too. lot of teasers for how this is gonna go down (badly, upsettingly, emotionally)

the whole "do you feel any remorse for what you do" feels like a misdirect -- that is, it's edited to look like it's about blitz, but i feel like it's directed at stella or her brother

generally a lot of fun stolas visuals that i won't get into here, but am excited to see more contexts for

also this isn't new, but im always interested in blitz's heart/broken-heart forehead marking

blitz and tilla moment! generally more flashbacks (in the shape of blitz seeming to be almost at the movies, watching his own "failures") around the time of the fire! i didn't see any barbie stuff, alas, but the rest of it looks !!! also lowkey confirmed it was cash who stopped blitz from seeing fizz in hospital

and barbie... i do want to see barbie again soonish ngl, she needs some proper introducing, but this is already giving so much callback and continuation of immediate plot-threads, very excited

Okay, so you know how Barrayar is full of stories of evil mutants kidnapping innocent Vor maidens, just like we IRL have a bunch of story templates exploiting our societal fears of some exoticized evil Other stealing our women?

And you know how modern romance/erotica takes those stories and turns them into erotic fantasies? Like, women have been going mad over The Phantom of the Opera for centuries, we've had stories about innocent maidens being forced into arranged marriages with big dick sheikhs and Middle Eastern princes for decades, and in the past decade or so both monster romance and villain romance have become completely mainstream staples of the genre?

And you know how Miles allegedly killing Tien so he could court Ekaterin was Vorbarr Sultana's Scandal of the Year for a short while, before the whole affair was capped by Ekaterin's very memorable and very public proposal?

Now, imagine some repressed Vor housewives hearing about it and thinking, in a similar vein to what Mark thought, "NGL, that's kinda hot. I always did have those fantasies where I was ravished by the villain, and I really do sometimes wish my boring sexist husband were dead." Because now that they've caught up on galactic genetics the actual fear of mutant children is kinda low among the bored upper class housewives who can afford gene cleaning, so it's the perfectly zeitgeisty moment to exoticize and objectify the mutants instead.

So one of said bored housewives decides to anonymously write a pulpy gothic-esque dark romance/erotica novel about it. Except obviously the scrawny short guy doesn't make for an appealing romantic hero, so she makes him a Taura-esque tall, massively ripped fellow who growls all his lines a là ACOTAR's Rhysand and conveniently makes all his mutations sexy in the vein of, like, A/B/O novels or Ice Planet Barbarians.

Imagine "Ravished by the Billionaire Secret Agent Mutant Count" slowly becoming popular among the ladies and the main cast learning about it, Miles lamenting about it having come out now when he's happily married and not when he was fifteen and desperate to get laid, Ivan suddenly gaining a lot more traction with the girls because they've caught onto the real life inspiration for the novel and are wondering if the Big Dick Mutation comes from Ivan's side of the family, Cordelia shamelessly reading it at dinner (she's the only person who's read it without wrapping the cover) and annoyedly pointing out the biological inaccuracies as Aral begs her to stop, Mark seeing the opportunity for a cash grab and buying the holodrama rights...

I forgot the Miraculous Awakening movie was supposed to come out so now I’m gonna ramble about it (spoilers!):

The jumpscare of hearing Marinette sing in a completely different voice took me off guard

I’m loving actually seeing gabriel as a fashion designer and what his stuff looks like

Chloe sounds… very much not like Chloe and it’s off putting (idk if it’s a different voice actor, I’m not looking it up)

The movie started a bit more cheesy and childish but overall they did a pretty good job of telling the story. The visuals were stunning, though the story was a bit rushed but they did a good job. There wasn’t quite enough time to develop the characters and their dynamics but they did the best they could with the time they had. The person who did Marinette’s singing voice was amazing, but I wish they found someone who sounded more like Marinette if they couldn’t use the same voice actress. The lore was a bit different but I kind of like it better than how much we started getting in later seasons, I just wish we got a bit more explanation on some things cause we don’t have the show to give us answers anymore. The only reason I feel like this ending with gabriel and Adrien works is because they didn’t have as much of an abusive relationship and he actually had a chance to redeem himself, but I’m glad he has to actually deal with the consequences. I know there are tons of fanfics about it but it’s so sad that while Marinette knew who Adrien was, he had no idea if he’d ever see Ladybug again but I’m glad that got resolved pretty quickly. I’m confused on what they want to do next cause they clearly were setting up for some kind of sequel but gabriel is already out as Hawkmoth and Nathalie only helped him during that time but I guess we’d just have to wait and see.

Blue eyes snap towards you. You've seen him around often, but you never got the courage to talk to him until now. He always wore the same thing, a black hoodie and mask, deep purple scars peaking out under his eyes. His black hair slowly fading away, red roots on the verge of taking over.

"Really now?" His voice was deeper than you expected it to be. "Which brand would you suggest then?"

You tossed a specific brand to him. "This is the one I use. It lasts for a while."

He looked down. "Thanks." He held onto the box and paused for a second as you looked at him. Now this was an odd occurrence. This was usually the part where he pocketed the hair dye and left. Most people didn't try to start a conversation with him. And if they did, he'd usually give them a blank stare and walk away.

But even as the both of you looked at each other without saying anything, Dabi didn't want to leave. The run down convenient store seemed like only you and him were in it, and one sleepy, underpaid cashier that barely paid attention to their surroundings. It's why he liked the place in the first place, it was the easiest to steal from.

"I've seen you around here a few times. I'm (Y/n)," you finally cut the silence. "What's your name?"

Dabi wasn't ashamed of who he was. He was proud actually. But for some reason he didn't want to see you run off in horror and scream to alert the authorities. While it would be cute to see you scared, he didn't want to make a scene. It was already late at night, and he'd had a long day.

Not that you'd get very far if you did try, you looked weak.

Way too weak to be a hero or villain, which was surprisingly comforting for him. It wasn't exactly a bad thing, though. It was nice having a mundane conversation, brief as it's been.

"Touya," he said after a moment of contemplation. It's been a long time since he's used his dead name, but it's not like you've possibly heard of the "dead" Todoroki. He was swept under the rug years ago.

"Well, Touya, if you want any other suggestions, let me know."

A small chill ran down his spine, hearing you say his real name. Not with pity, not with anger. Calmly, like he was just a normal person just like you. He burned the thought.

He was still Dabi, he swore to himself. He didn't need a distraction. Even if the distraction was a pretty face with a calming voice.

"Yeah, thanks I guess." He decided to cut this off now, walking off. You watched him pocket the hair dye, grabbing a pack of cigarettes on the way out and putting it in his pocket as well.

You smiled. Every time he was in the store he grabbed the same few things. It was like a routine. Even though he pocketed it every time, you didn't mind. You always bought an extra item as a little compensation of what he stole.

This time, you stayed for an extra few minutes, wondering around the isles as you thought about the mysterious stranger. Touya's a nice name, you thought to yourself as you finally checked out. Maybe you'd just made a new friend. You hoped so.

As you walked out of the store, bag in hand, you didn't feel the eyes following your movements. Dabi's face lit up in the darkness, the tip of his finger glowing like a candle with a blue flame.

"(Y/n)," he drawled out your name while leaning against a tree, inhaling a puff of cigarette smoke. "I'll see you soon."

Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call!! I actually discovered ordering the game from the UK with shipping was actually cheaper than ordering the American version of the game, there were no major differences that I could tell as they still had the original English voice actors.

I enjoyed this game!! Not my top favorite installment but I still had a great time and loved the new characters. The puzzles were well designed and had nice scaled difficulty and the mini games were really neat too. The Eternal Diva references were so blatant lmfao but I’m excited for Miracle Mask! I was also super exhausted when writing the summary so sorry there’s so many errors and I use the word fun a million times ToT

Summary

This was such a fun origin story for Luke and Layton. Very much a classic Layton game with world ending machinery and gorgeous environment design. I really liked both Emmy and Descole, there’s a more serious undertone than with Don Paolo as the main villain (even though I do love Don Paolo). Emmy is amazing!! I was afraid she would be sidelined like Flora was but I’m glad to she stands her ground and does what she wants to do. I alos like how we got to go on our own adventure as her to London, she’s a character that doesn’t need to rely on Hershel to solve everything. Meeting Luke was great, loved his blank stare. It was fun seeing his origins and how Clark and Hershel knew each other. I’m curious how the prequels will play into the New World of Steam, especially now that Luke’s family have stories and sprites (unlike in the original trilogy). Loved the ACAB story, v nice to play while I’m still so mad at what’s happening to university students currently. Descole was so fun, I am obsessed with his outfit and personality. Unfortunately I was spoiled on who he is but I’m very excited to learn more. I think similar to Ace Attorney, the fourth installment is that last game in the classic 2D style, which is sad but PLvsPW makes me very hopeful about 3D Layton. The overall story was fun, I really liked the sub plot about the Ravens - that was really fun (i was so tired writing this omfg). I wish we got a little more backstory on the rich guy who died, I feel like there’s more to the story. OO I loved the little episodes, especially the one about Chelmey. They added a lot of fun context and gave more life to the NPCs. Such a fun and classic Layton game, I can’t wait to play Miracle Mask! (And read the light novels). This wasn’t my favorite Layton game but I still really loved it and had a great time and loved the puzzles — that’s all I want from PL!

ngl i sometimes forgot that hero, villain, sidekick, etc. in the hero x villain snippets/prompts aren't their own characters but rather a "imagine your ocs/otp" type of thing like. wym im supposed to imagine Henchman and Right Hand as a character that isn't. them if that make sense ⁉️⁉️ -🐏

Personally when I write snippets I don’t think of any OCs of mine and I just make up their personalities/backgrounds as I go. So, in a sense they’re their own characters.

However, they don’t have names, genders nor do they have a proper character arc which doesn’t really make them their own characters either.

I think that makes this community so interesting: the writing is vague enough to give the reader their own ideas/inspiration but is also most of the time too specific to fit any OCs or OTPs.

It’s quite interesting, don’t ya think?

- callum is so broken and i think hes such an interesting character to analyze. like the thoughts of 'if you could feel everyones emotions all the time, you would have to shut off your own or you would fucking shatter'

- hc libby is a lesbian and belen deserved better

- libby is imo the most cruel and manipulative person of the six. it was true in the first book its true now

- tho we love a corruption arc

- ngl kinda hope ezra lives. like did he do shitty things? yes. should you kidnap ur ex to 'save the world'? probably not. did i disagree with some of his philosophy and reasonings.... next question. also the fact that i think that that interaction would be really fucking fascinating. (i just want to have him and atlas yell at eachother more so i can critique their relationship more)

- parisa is and always will be the queen of my heart. i want more callum and parisa moments im the next book because i think theyre so similar and seeing their banter cracks me up

- if libby and tristan end up together i will literally cry and throw up and shit my pants in rage they are AWFUL together.

- i think reina didnt do much this book (other than possibly draft a damn pantheon) so im hoping we see her research come to fruition in the next book

the way that all of this is being brought up again in TAP is beautiful

- theyre all so broken and in need of therapy

Ok but can we quickly remember how in Empires S1 Pearl fought a demon for FUN???? FOR FUN. LIKE- GIRLYPOP- MAN I LOVED HER CHAOTIC ENERGY SO MUCH- pretty sure that's when she became my favorite lol-

You have no idea how much I wished for S1Pearl to have a chaotic evil arc- I even had an idea where in S2 instead of being yk, a GOD APPARENTLY??? GIRLY SLAYED SO HARD SHE BECAME A LITERAL CELESTIAL BEING???

Like in my head, I just have this, corrupted Pearl in mind, cause, think about it. I would have NOT need surprised if she joined Xornoth in S1 just for the thrill. Like just to cause so chaos. Ofc she didn't but like??? The opportunity was there.

Also also, imagine if instead of actually dying, she kinda got reincarnated? Like instead of becoming a Goddes she just rose up like a phoenix??? But a whitered one??? That would seek revenge on Sausage for causing her demise when he connected her to her land????? Hello???? Like it would have been such a funky interaction NGL. Imagine if the God thing was still there, so Sausage did keep her memory alive as the form of a Goddess, but INSTEAD of a Goddess of like, harvest (I like forgot what she is about cuz NGL, she gives me so much Athena and Artemis vibes mixed up with some Demeter) she was like a being of Chaos and nightmares?? Like hello?? Corrupted Pearl arc when??? (This is all said in a light hearted way DW)

Anyway.

The fact that when I make funky "what if" in my head, I never know if Pearl should be a hero or a villain, cause like, love her vibes, but she's honestly the embodiment of chaotic neutral so.. like I was thinking of a Star wars au, (that I'm never gonna make seriously) and I was thinking about her arc, which would probably be something like, Padawan, then boom gets left behind, sith, then boom, fuck that, gray Jedi (don't come for me ik gray jedis aren't canon but wtf am I supposed to call her??) So like, blue lightsaber to red to white.

I have no idea how this post got to Star Wars honestly.

But at his point you all should be used to my posts not making any logical sense whatsoever.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

I'm ngl, since reading stuff outside the New 52 I've kinda stopped liking Jason... however, I do appreciate what he represents. Speaking in terms of symbols, Jason is a powerful one. In Under the Red Hood especially, he essentially poses a trolley problem to Bruce- kill the Joker, or do nothing and let hundreds other die. He's a criticism of Bruce's own inaction, and a criticism of the general comic book trope of "it doesn't matter who wins, the heroes and villains will always fight again". I'm not saying that Batman should kill the Joker, honestly I think that one of the more appealing parts of him is that he doesn't kill, that he doesn't play judge jury and executioner, but having a character who opposes that worldview is neat.

Buuut from a less conceptual standpoint, I do like the theme of reclaiming his death. Taking Joker's old pseudonym, using crowbars as his choice of weapon, that's neat.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

Giving him other characters' personalities... look, all I'm saying is that Jason Todd is not DC's drug-awareness father figure, that's Roy. And he's also not Gotham's street-level protector, savior of the poor... that title would fit Selina and/or Helena way better.

Prediction time for TWST Chapter 7 Book 3!! *SPOILERS*

So y’know how in the ending of Chapter 7 Book 2, Malleus Overblots & covers the entire Sage Island with Vines???

And you know how in the very end we end up being covered in thorny vines??

You know how the only other time we see those vines are when we’re trying to obtain cards and groovies?

So bare with me:

My theory is that we’re going to be transported to a dreamscape that Malleus has created for everyone to act as a “hero” in their own stories.

And as a result of Malleus putting everyone in this wrapped illusion, everyone in the dreamscape will become someone that they always envisioned themselves to be.

For example: Vil as a child actor had a really hard time trying to fit into a “hero” role in filming because he was overshadowed constantly by Neige. And because he was always casted as a villain for movie roles, he was always either mocked or bullied by other children his age because of his cast role; which would eventually result in him developing a hate towards Neige and wanting to outshine him. To put it bluntly, he wants to be “The Fairest One of All”.

So when Vil is now in this dreamscape that Malleus had created, he will now act like a “Hero” in his own story.

How do I think this will this play out?

Well, the idea is that when the characters are now in Malleus’ fantasy world, the TWST cast would most likely have developed some sort of amensia which would make them forget about who they are in the real world.

So quite frankly, no body would have any recollection of who they were before Malleus put them in a thousand year sleep.

And what would the world look like?

Personally, I think it would be really cool if we had brought back the Overblots. And it would be really interesting to see the main crew that overblot reinacted themes and plot lines from their original Disney stories. The only thing that I think would different would be that the dreamscape would litterally just be a copy & paste version of the Disney films, but in one chaotic mesh.

That’s an interesting concept right?

Let’s take this into consideration:

Do you remember how Crowley gifted Yuu with the Ghost Camera?

And do you remember how the ghost camera LITTERALLY has not been brought up at anytime other than the first few chapters of the game? (With the exception of the Halloween event where Yuu is taking photos.)

WELL-

Most people have pretty much theorized (and I believe it’s been confirmed but if I’m wrong lmk!) that the cards we collect in the game are actually photos Yuu has taken on their camera. Which is a pretty wholesome thing ngl-

ANYWAYS.

Let’s say that Yuu wakes up in Malleus’ idealic world trying to find their friends (ADeuce, Grim etc.) only to realize that no body remembers them OR what happened and the TWST cast are playing into positions they always envisioned themselves to be.

And the only way they’re able to gain any memory of Yuu or their lives as students would be to show them the photos they have taken on the Ghost Camera.

(Also, fun note: someone on Twitter made a comment on how the items you collect like the Awakening Perfume and other gameplay elements could potentially foreshadow Chapter 7. If I come across that post again I will link it!)

And you know how when you GROOVY a card, vines litterally uncover the frame to reveal the picture and what could essentially be a core memory? Like the photo was blocked unless you had certain items to unlock the GROOVY?

What if that was Malleus’ Magic that were originally blocking the photos of the character’s real identities? As if Malleus didn’t want anyone to know who they were in the real world?

Or y’know I could be wrong lol.

This was kinda just a complex theory that I had developed while rereading some posts on Twitter.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around how Mickey could be tied into the theory but unfortunately my brain is going numb 🫠

Feel free to share some of your theories!!

Even if this was wrong, I’d like to call this the Dreamscape AU lolol

Theory a Nutshell: Malleus puts everyone in a false reality where they’re either their overblotted selves or an alternate version and the only way Yuu can save them is using their Ghost Camera to bring back their memories.

like yeah, they're everybody's dream guys, but instead seeing them as dreams, they're constantly prancing around being the japanese equivalents of martin freeman and anthony mackie.

reporter: so deku can you tell us why it took you so long to apprehend the vilain this morning?

deku: well we chased him so hard that he ate shit and after catching him me and kacchan spent 37 minutes and 43 seconds laughing in his face.

reporter: *so done with these fucking losers* thank you, deku. please keep doing your best.

deku: *literally smiling like a ray of light* of course!

bakugou: *just coming back from chatting with cops* did you tell the dude how that extra ate shit.

reporter, while deku and bakugou start dying laughing again: *tiredly* this has been the news.

i don’t necessarily ship them but this is funny LMAO

like separately— reporters and everyone in PR like them just fine. bakugou? he definitely had a colorful vocabulary, but hey, when reporters ask him the really interesting questions, he’ll deliver on the answers. (but ngl getting interesting questions from reporters are rare for bakugou since reporters kinda ask him the same (ex: you took down that villain today, yes? you were in top speed, did you break your record in villain takedowns?) but again i kinda don’t blame him that man is something else 😭 /lh)

as for izuku, he’s either a heaven sent or kind of a mess 💀 again, the reporters like him more than bakugou because of how nice and sunshine-y he is. it’s definitely a nice break from getting lambasted /hj

(at the same time, he’s so authentic it hurts 😨 and i mean it in the way that he’ll give a really detailed answer in such a short amount of time AND sometimes he’ll go off track but its okay because he’s the number 1 hero, right 😃 but it’s still kind of hell for reporters because they gotta think of a quick and witty response 😭 poor them sometimes 💀)

but put those two together 😭 romantically or platonically— they’d be every reporter’s (and also every pr employee’s) worse nightmare because 😭😭 they’re a mess together whether they realize it or not and even when they do realize it it kinda gets messier but hey! the memes

like there’s this one comic i saw of izuku giving a response in an interview and bakugou just runs into the frame and screams at him randomly— and izuku laughs, being alarmed 😭 (it was also based off an actual interview, though idk which one ☹️💀) and i think that’s pretty accurate. they’re so chaotic in media.

but this is absolute hell when they actually need to be professional and serious 💀 both of their pr teams are always this 🤏 close to just crying on the floor that one midsommar scene style every time they’re supposed to be giving a professional-yet-authentic response to reporters, and even press conferences because it’s almost impossible when those two are in the same frame istg

So about them Season 2 SF6 Leaks

There were a mixture of reactions for this. The people who main those characters are happy while everyone else, which I think it’s the majority, were really upset. The leaker is supposedly Vergeben, who actually had a hit or miss record in leaking info. But his leak for the SF6 season 1 characters was almost 100% accurate, down to “Cammy wearing pants.” To me, if there’s a short written description of the characters’ appearance, they tend to be true as oppose to just naming the characters. But I read that this Vergeben may be an imposter because that’s not his real Reddit account. His real account is DasVergeben while the most recent one is shinvergeben. But the DasVergeben account hadn’t posted anything in the past 2 years, so who knows if shinvergeben is the same guy or not, but created a new Reddit account.

Ngl, when I saw the list, I was kinda sad. F.A.N.G’s purpose in Street Fighter 6 is to revive Bison and Shadaloo. This was known since the TOXICITY story was released in 2018. I’d like to see how his revival journey would unfold in his Arcade or World Tour Mode because it sounds like a compelling character story. But if Bison comes back as a DLC before a playable F.A.N.G, that could mean FANG’s moment to shine in SF6 would become unlikely because his goal had already been met, so what’s the point. Sure, we might see FANG’s revival journey through Bison’s story, but it would be much better if it was through a playable FANG. It would give more meaning and significance to his story. Alas, I guess I’ll just accept FANG as an NPC for the entirety of SF6. FANG would be happy for Bison’s return, at least. But I’d still be salty that Capcom decided to steal FANG’s thunder. It would be nice if both FANG and Bison were to some back to SF6 in the same season…preferably FANG coming before Bison. Oh well. Dee Jay and Ed spoiled me so much because they proved that characters don’t have to be super popular in order to come back to a Street Fighter game.

Anyway enough of my rant. Regardless if the leaker source is true or false, I personally believe the Bison part is true. Back many months ago in October, I found unused voice clips for F.A.N.G. I had a feeling they’ll eventually be used in a later dlc. At first I thought they would be heard in the Ed DLC, but that didn’t happen. So I have a feeling they would be used in the Bison DLC instead. F.A.N.G did say Bison’s name twice in unknown contexts, and they were not heard during the AKI dlc. I’m assuming he either thinks about Bison or he finally sees Bison alive again. You can listen to extracted unused voice audio here, starting at 0:39 :

Now I have my own thoughts on what may happen during the Bison DLC. Based on the voice lines above, I think the avatar would be helping F.A.N.G in finding resources to revive Bison and Shadaloo. Unused lines like “You have my gratitude” and “Splendid job” sounds like you’re doing some tasks for him. I did mentioned about this in an older post:

always gonna be disappointed in mlb messing up their execution of core concepts/tropes (whether they intended to have them or not) of both the magical girl genre and the superhero genre. just like, secret identities are THE Big Thing in superhero based things (well, it usually is, sometimes it's not (e.g. Marvel Avengers)) and it's always "i can't put my loved ones in danger because my enemies will surely target them!" and all that other angst potential stuff. and they do "secret identites are super important!" with LB and CN kinda but canon to the temp heroes is just like? lmao whomst? safety? to the people who were heroes whose identities were exposed? even after it's been shown twice that hawkmoth could get them and their families at any given moment? (ngl, he really should be doing that more, if he was gonna be villain you might as well keep going with attacking their families. if this wasn't a kids show and was like an actual superhero comic book series then those people would def be dead)

Yeah like.

The 'Your identity is important so you can't be a Hero anymore' rule applies exclusively to Chloé.

The 'No one ever can know your identity' applies exclusively to Adrien. (not even Mari because she told Alya).

- Loving Daymond/Curious Cat

Will always love how Blake’s ears go full perked whenever Yang talks xD

Blake’s failing at keeping eyes off her gf still going xD

- Love the meta nudge about Ciel

- ngl kinda like the Herbalist xD

- Love the introspective-ness of things, not to mention it bringing up so many things that certain types have acted like were forgotten. Blake being the bridge between faunus and humans; Yang’s feelings about her arm; and Weiss’s grappling with her family’s history.

- All of the speeches are great but having done a rewatch of Ice Queendom and seeing Nicholas: Weiss’s “I am the granddaughter of a hero and a child of a villain” hits a particular emotional chord.

- So curious to find out if the hole is what I suspect in being a punishment to those who don’t do their purpose.
