Journalist Rachel Shabi eloquently summarising the truth "The only way we are going to get a ceasefire is from International pressure. There's no way Israel's going to do it on its own... By the way none of this started on October 7th ....We have decade upon decade of green lights given to Israel which has serially violated international law"

Angry at our government.
Okay. I am angry right now. I am the most angry I have ever been in my life, I swear. American government is trying to take basic rights. It probably won’t stop at abortion.
They will try to take land from Native Americans or force segregation. Experts also say that they may try to limit birth control as well. They want to not just go back to the 1950’s but earlier. They want the “only rich white man have rights” and I won’t stand for it.
2/3rds of Americans won’t stand for government taking away our basic humans rights. We are working on becoming a 3rd world country instead of a 1st world country. In order to become the country we need to be, we need more things implemented.
First thing is get abortion right back. A few other things we need to work on include: free education, higher minimum wage, housing for homeless people, fix climate change, free health care, gun control, and no more discrimination or racism. I want to add that racism is not logical. Human evolution started in Africa. All of us are distantly related whether we be white or another race. So people need to stop being idiots and use their brains.
Most Americans want these things but the minority(rich and idiots) are winning out. We have to fight back. We are close to a civil war. Either we need to band together and get these things down peacefully or we will be fighting each other and be a weaker country than we already are.
Accept people no matter race, ethnicity, beliefs, or sexuality. Just be accepting and let people live their lives without taking basic humans rights.
I am American but I am starting to hate my own country for what the government is doing. Next election we need someone who will fight for these things. I am for Bernie Sanders. We need to separate religion from the government.

To all the people who aren’t First Nations.
Long one, not an attack but something to provoke. Take what you need and reflect on the rest.
If you marched this week or even shared something on socials, you pledged to pay a debt to First Nations people of this country. Adding your voice and support was that pledge to commit to real action.
Every time you say Meanjin or Naarm, every acknowledgment to country is that pledge to work on the debt. These aren’t tick box moments because you’re told you should, they are chances to do more.
A debt to to listen and centre the voices of First Nation people not just the ones who agree with your point of view.
A debt the use your privilege to push for real change whether that be economic, political or broader community impacts.
To participate and engage with what it means to decolonize our society. To do the hard work so that maybe one day this country and others will actually demonstrate the equity it so often pats itself on the back for.
This is the quiet work that will look different for every single person, that no one will see but will help create meaningful impact. And it’s the work that everyone should be doing year round not just when it’s trending.
Photo taken at BLM protest at King George Square, Meanjin. June 2020.

I’m ready for the republicans to attack me over this.
Our country is in fact in distress. We are in imminent danger. Shit needs to change.
I’ll show my support for all of us who are struggling, for any reason right now, wether it be the threat of our civil liberties and human rights being taken away, to our income inequality and our systematic homelessness.

Teaching my kids to love everyone.
My husband and I, along with both sides of the family are teaching our kids that racism is wrong, everyone has rights no matter race, sex, or sexual orientation.
We will teach our son to respect women and their bodies. Our daughter will learn that her body is hers and she decides if she has children or not.
The rights of Native Americans, African Americans, Mexican Americans, Japanese Americans, Chinese Americans, etc. (I can keep going) matter. Don’t take away rights due to race. They will be taught that there is only one race: Humanity. People do look different and come in different colors, but that does not make them different from us. Racism is taught not born. My kids will be taught that racism shouldn’t exist.
They will know that others do not tell them what to do with their bodies or how to live their lives. They will be tolerant of all. This includes the LGBTQ+ community. We have cousins and uncles and aunts who are part of this community. One cousin was successful with transgender operations. I love my family and you will not take rights away.
My family is a mix of races (as they are called. I still believe in one race: humanity), a mix of religions (including Christianity), and a mix of LGBTQ+. I will not stand for extremists telling them how to think or what to do. We also need to fight for anyone with disabilities who can’t fight for themselves.
They will listen to songs, tv shows, and movies that support this along with celebrities that do. My kids will learn how to fight for everyone’s rights, not just their own.
We should be fighting for all rights. There is a lot going on with abortion and that is what people are focusing on. There is so much more going on. We need to open our eyes and teach our kids the correct way to live. My family and my husband’s family are very open to anyone and everyone as long as they don’t push their closed mindedness on us.
This is how all should be. Accept all religions, races, sexes, etc.. What America is doing is wrong. People came here for freedoms, not to have them taken away.
I want to also go back to my other post. I will teach that free education, gun control, and higher wages are important. There are a lot of countries who have this and they are doing better than America.

Activism is civil therapy. ( The world needs activism but isn’t getting enough currently and the activism going on isn’t getting enough recognition to growing the movements)
Therapy is civil activism. (When done correctly and processed with care then applied in numbers a.k.a the activism that’s going on now that needs more recognition and numbers to grow)
I think that’s why I advocate for therapy so much and relate it to peoples happiness. Because one, if people go to therapy then they heal within themselves and gain clarity on their purpose and what’s important. Two taking that healed, higher self and adding it with others who done the same together finds groups based on natural gifts and talents to create the most efficient powerful activism we’ve ever seen. Which will only attract more, gaining momentum making the world a better place and improving everyone’s wellbeing. Which I believe is my purpose.
One day I’ll refer back to this while doing what I love, but for now PEACE.
