Hi everyone! I'm currently writing a kidlit book and I would love to have a few beta readers!
This is meant to be a chapter book for young readers (so about ages 7-12, probably leaning more on the younger side of this range), inspired by Daisy Meadows and Gwyneth Rees' Rainbow Fairy and Fairy Dust series respectively.
I would be happy to get some feedback and critique on this piece, especially since this is the first kidlit book I've written! You'll be reading off a google doc for this, and I'll make sure you have the ability to leave comments on the piece as well so you can leave your feedback there.
Title: Sadie And The Search For The Missing Necklace (working title, subject to change for the final product later on)
Genre: Kidlit/Fantasy
Word count: 7528
Short synopsis: After losing her grandma's necklace, Sadie must work together with a fairy named Pearl in order to find it. But can Sadie learn to trust Pearl as they continue working together, or will her doubts about others keep them from finding the necklace at all?
Desired feedback: Overall impressions, impressions about plot and characters, worldbuilding, and any other questions you might have.
Deadline: No later than Jan. 20th, 2023!
Please IM me if you're interested and/or want more details! Thank you in advance for your interest and happy reading!
“Sometimes You Get Lonely” is a picture book I wrote in 2019 about a little witch and her quest for friendship 🪄
A blend of sweet and spooky, it’s perfect for fall reading! You can order a copy of your own here: https://www.lulu.com/shop/courtney-godbey/sometimes-you-get-lonely/paperback/product-y94jpe.html?page=1&pageSize=4 🐈⬛✨

There's only 28 copies of my Adventure novel left and they need to go NOW so I can apply for a new publishing house this summer! Even if I should go under contract again this year, it might take another year or more until my books come out again, so if you're interested in reading them, better buy a copy NOW before they're gone for good!!
Thank you all for your support, more than ANYTHING I hope that these books will be available in english one day, once I've found a new publisher here with good ties to the UK.
Been having a sort through old files on my computer today, and still really like this Spyro illustration I created to celebrate the release of the amazing Reignited Trilogy back in 2018.
For those who haven’t read the main monthly writing update on my website, I’ve been working on trying to reorganize all the novels I have either partially drafted, outlined, drafted, etc. because I have so many projects.
The problem was that it was a matter of prioritizing which ones were more important and therefore worth focusing on first. The good news is that I think I figured out how to narrow down the projects to three novels that I’m actively working on right now.
The first is “An Engagement To Die For,” the sequel to my novel “Winner Takes All.” It’s a murder mystery, just like the book before it.
Second is a kidlit fantasy book inspired by Gwyneth Rees’ Fairy Dust series as well as Daisy Meadows’ Rainbow Fairy series. (No, it doesn’t have a title yet and I’m working on one!)
The third one? A book inspired by the video game series King’s Quest. (This also doesn’t have a title yet but I’m trying to think of one).
More details on the latter two projects will come during 2023 (though I’ve already mentioned some on the first two books in said writing update post on my site), if not later this month or December!
All three of these novels are in different stages of the writing process, but it also makes it easier to figure out which one to work on at the moment? For example: If i get bored of editing one, I can just draft more of another, and so on and so forth.
Just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone that supported Driftwood on her pirate adventures in 2023!
Whether you purchased the book, signal boosted my posts about it, reviewed the book, commented on the art, or drew art of the characters yourself, it means a lot to me!!! 💙
As for 2024, you can still buy this colorful pirate fantasy picture book through Lulu:
There is something indescribable about seeing the book you made available in (online) book stores like Barnes & Noble.
But yeah, Driftwood Becomes a Pirate is now very much available online! You can order it directly from Lulu, or get it from various book stores online!
If you know any children that might enjoy a pirate fantasy adventure like this, you can support one unemployed author and illustrator while making that child happy! And feel free to leave a review if the kid enjoyed the story, I'd appreciate that! 😊💙
