Can you please do headcanons with Angel and Husk with a reader who suffers from chronic pain/illness and how’d they’d help reader get through it? Platonic or romantic is up to you! It’s okay if you can’t but thank you so much if you do.
Hey there! Of course I can, I decided to go with chronic pain though it’s written pretty vaguely, so it can be relatable to a wider audience; and for anyone struggling with this, make sure you rest a bunch :)
Angel and Husk with a Reader who has Chronic pain/illness
Tumblr media
Angel Dust
✧Angel is a very caring boyfriend; he remembers all the meds that you’re supposed to take and at what time, and if you forget about taking them he’s going to gently scold you and remind you that this is important for your health.
✧However, his life is pretty busy with him having to be on set for most of the day, so he can’t really take care of you the way he’d rather do it. Still, he’ll take a few breaks to remind you to take your medicine at the right time and entrust somebody else to take care of you if you’re having a particularly bad day.
✧Speaking of bad days, every single morning before he goes to work he’ll stop by your room; if you’re already awake he’ll tell you to text him if there is a problem and you two will share a kiss as good luck to both of you; if you’re still sleeping, he’ll gladly leave a neatly written note on your nightstand where he reminds you how much he loves you and tells you he hopes that you have a good day, and to obviously text him if something’s wrong.
Good Morning Sweets, I hope you slept fine, and that today goes well! Leave me a message if you need, I’ll try to check my phone for you. I love you a bunch, -Anthony <3
✧At the end of the day, expect a lot of cuddles and kisses! He’ll ask you how it went and if you managed to carry out any of your projects. At the start of the relationship he might even avoid talking about his own struggles because he knows you have to deal with yours every day, but as you two get more comfortable so will the relationship, and you’ll be genuine with each other, as the other will always be there for comfort.
Husk
✦Husk may appear grumpy, but as I said probably a million times at this point, he’s the exact opposite in a relationship, especially if you struggle with chronic pain or illness. He’ll be extra careful not to cause you any additional pain or fatigue, and will be thinking of you pretty much the whole time when you’re resting in your room.
✦Alcohol doesn’t really help with chronic pain and illness, so he’s willing to mix you non-alcoholic cocktails and of course prepare something extra for you, such as a breakfast in bed here...a favourite dish as lunch there...he’s skilled in the kitchen! So he does so both because he enjoys it and because it lessens your strain.
✦He can also be a bit of a couch potato, so he doesn’t really mind if you sometimes prefer to have little dates at the Hotel because you’re not feeling the best. Watching some TV to distract you sounds good enough to him, as long as you get to spend time together and he gets to comfort you with his purrs.
✦If you’re having a particularly bad day, he will do anything for you; bring you your meds, remind you to eat and drink, he will even take breaks from tending to the bar to check on you. Alastor doesn’t mind him doing that either.
✦- This only applies if you’re dating both of them – Husk will always be appointed to look after you by Angel while he’s at work if you’re in pain, and he doesn’t mind it one bit. You will receive lots of love once Angel comes home, from both him and Husk, and the playful banter between the two will surely be able to distract you a bit.

Astrology observations
Scorpio risings causing drama without even meaning to
Capricorns are the hottest placement sun and rising
Everyone says it’s probably Leo or libra or Taurus but Capricorns have this I’m hot and it doesn’t matter energy. Like those placements know they’re hot. They got the bone structure and legs
Everyone thinks it’s Scorpio but I would NOT WANT TO MAKE AN AQUARIUS ANGRY. These people can be calculated and smart. They don’t feel in the same way other people do typically so they can really whip out some unwarranted shit.
Aries moons going 0 to 100 in half a second.
Virgo aries combos especially Virgo sun aries moon or Virgo rising aries… acting first thinking later and regretting everything:((( these can be some very… stimulated people.
Cancer Leo Taurus in the big three loyal and selfless with a dash of manipulation
Leo Venus will like you and still make you chase for a year you’d better be ready to chase!
Venus in the second know their self worth.
Mercury in Pisces/Sagittarius or in the 9th or 12th house how’s that ADD/ADHD??
Cancer stellium/ Virgo stellium with those stomach problems.
Where your 6th house ruler sits is how your health shows up. 6th house ruler in the third might need glasses or have hand problems. 6th ruler in the 12th might have mental health problems. 6th ruler in the 5th watch your heart.
Aquarius moons are so chill if your not tryna have a relationship with them and humble too. Like they won’t start shit.
Neptune in fire houses (1 5 & 9) have the reputation of being mysterious but isn’t as mysterious as everyone thinks, they don’t really know themselves either lol.
Further, neptune in the first just doesn’t see themselves the way you see them
Neptune in the 5th probably have identity issues, people like them better on drugs. Struggle to see themselves the way others see them causing misinterpretations
Neptune in the 9th people don’t see the spirits on your side lol. Maybe people don’t see that you can see through them
Saturns not all bad, in houses where you must acquire (earth houses 2 6 10)
Moon in the ascendant will have children especially with planets in the 5th.
Capricorn or Saturn in the 5th may have a hard time conceiving or having children
Uranus in the 5th… just make sure you wrap it cause get ready for those unexpected pregnancies. Also what’s up with those one night stands??
Neptune in the 11th most likely means friends at a distance or friendships where you do a lot of drugs and alcohol. Friends Can be artists as well. Best case I think these people are celebrities and connect with masses online.
Mars in Leo are HORNY and loud about it
Pluto in the third can cut people with their words
Moon in the 10th makes people comfortable around you yet a distance between you and other people?
Neptune in the 10th where’s your dad lol?
12th house ruler in the 10th everyone talks about you behind your back so much gossip
Virgo men lowk like it when you call them out🫢🫢
Pisces moons can’t stop lying huh? Like you don’t even know why your doing it
Virgo rising s are so hot. Like subtle beauty look good without makeup.
Virgo sun women’s personality is basically just whatever copies and compliments their best friend…
Fire sign moons are soo DRAMATIC
Moon in first = heart in sleeve
Thanks for reading let me know what you think please don’t copy my information!

Nursed To Health
Summary: Joel got hurt. A local nurse is trying to fix him up but he's being fussy. Or is he just nervous?
Genre: romance, fluff
Pairing: Joel Miller x female reader
Tumblr media
"y/n! Help!"
Ellie screamed as she tried her best to support Joel's weight into the clinic. Tommy stopped talking to one of the guys before helping Ellie carry Joel and bring him to one of the beds.
"What happened?" You asked, putting on gloves.
"We were on our way back - A few guys ambushed us. We managed to fight back while escaping, but Joel.. he..."
You could see the wound on his stomach. It wasn't deep, but Joel had pulled the knife out and he'd been bleeding out for the entire journey.
"Fuck." You muttered to yourself. "Tommy, put pressure on that wound."
Joel screamed in pain.
"Sorry brother." Tommy winced, "Ellie, get out of here."
"I'm not going anywhere."
You and Tommy glanced at each other before continuing to treat Joel.
"Alright, get that bucket of water."
---------
He woke up a few days later, all bandaged up, pain in his abdomen.
"Don't try to get up." You put a hand on his chest. "You almost died yesterday."
"Where's Ellie?"
"She's out being trained by Tommy." You said, wiping his forehead with a damp cloth.
A sigh of relief.
"What were you thinking pulling out the knife that stabbed you?" You shook your head. "Years being out there on the field, I thought your survival instincts would be sharper than that."
"Quit sassing me." Joel groaned. "Where's my clothes?"
"Being washed."
He got up despite your warning not to and winced in pain.
"Would you please like back down? I did a good job stitching you up, I do not need you opening it again." You sighed, pushing him to lay back down on the bed.
The damp towel touched his wound and Joel audibly hissed. "Can you just let me go? I'm fine."
You frowned, staring at him, who tried to convince you that he's not in incredible pain. Taking the challenge, you pressed a finger onto his wound and watched him doubling over in pain.
"Quit being fussy."
------
You were expecting to see Joel still in bed when you came back from doing a few chores around the clinic, but your expectations were too high. We're talking about Joel Miller here, a man who does not know bounds when it comes to his own well being.
He was gone by the time you're back, and you knew exactly where he was.
Tommy was cleaning up the counter when his brother walked in -- limped in. He was obviously still in pain, but he couldn't stay in that clinic anymore.
"Aren't you supposed to be in bed?"
Joel ignored him. "Just whiskey is fine."
"I am not serving you alcohol." Tommy said, "Go back and see Y/N. She must be worried by now."
"I'm fine."
Tommy sighed, "Joel, you got stabbed. We were all worried sick because it got serious. So please go back to the clinic and stay until Y/N tells you to leave."
Joel fidgeted in his seat. "I can't.."
"Joel-"
"I can't because I'm embarrassed." Joel continued, "I asked Y/N out the other day.. a while ago. She said no."
Tommy chuckled, "This is what you're worried about? Who woulda thought that my brother would have a girl problem."
Joel sneered at him. "Shut up."
"Alright, alright. I'm sure that you misunderstood somewhere, cause I heard her talking about you before. She seems pretty into you."
"Quit talking nonsense." Joel side-eyed.
------
It was just before midnight when Joel decided to lay back down in the clinic, the bed creaking due to its age. You were there, of course, awaiting his return.
"You could've gone home, you know."
He pursed his lips. "Didn't want to make you worry."
"I was already worried." You sighed. "Let me look at that wound."
You sat by his bed, lifting his shirt so you can examine his abdomen.
Joel couldn't stop looking at you, you were beautiful despite the room being dark. His hand grabbed yours and slowly put them down, making you look at him.
"Why did you say no?"
"What?"
You knew exactly what he was talking about.
Joel asked you out before he went with Ellie to go save the human race -- which, we all know how that went. You said no, and Joel never talked to you ever since.
You felt bad, but you needed to prioritize yourself.
"Why did you say no?" Joel asked again. "Tommy told me.. he told me you talk about me, and that you think about me. Is that true?"
Sighing, you nodded. "Yes."
"Then why did you-"
"Because I was scared." You said honestly. "I lost someone I loved to one of them, and you were about to leave and face them head on. I didn't want to lose you."
"So you do have.. feelings for me?"
Chuckling, you held his hand. "Of course I do, Joel. You're one of the only available and decent bachelors around here."
He laughed with you. "I don't think I can be called a bachelor at my age, sweetheart."
Smiling, you kissed his forehead. "Come on, I have a more comfortable bed upstairs that would fit the two of us."
"Oh, I didn't know we're already at that stage." Joel joked. "But if you insist."
"Joel!"

-ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈ drunken confession
⊹ character(s) - kaveh ⊹ word count - 1.1k ⊹ notes - gn!reader, fluff, hurt/comfort (for kaveh lol), kaveh gets drunk and basically whines to reader, reader is a lil blunt/stoic at times and is implied to be some kind of artist/have some understanding of artistry and such (and is also implied to be fairly affluent), fic is implied to take place sometime after the hangout (like after the traveler visits him in the tavern but they don't go anywhere ofc)
this idea sprouted up while I was playing kaveh's hangout quest so I had to rush something out for the loml.... kaveh ilysm (^≗ω≗^) SORRY THE ENDING IS KINDA CLICHE TOO I am cringe but free
Tumblr media
"These clients think they can just... boss me around! All because they have plenty of Mora to throw about! I'm the architectural expert here, they don't know the half of it!"
The man across from you shouted freely, waving around his latest glass of wine as he vented his woes. Normally, this would warrant a hushing and an apology to the nearby patrons... but if you were honest, this was his regular drinking spot, and all the usual tavern-goers already knew of Kaveh's habits.
You, meanwhile, nursed your own glass of the same, glancing over at your companion.
"I know, Kaveh. You've told me that about the last..." You counted on your fingers. "Three clients you've had."
"Just goes to show nobody understands art like we do in this city!" Kaveh slurred, downing the rest of his drink as he slumped onto the table, burying his head in his arms. You eyed him concernedly.
Isn't that his sixth one?
"I think you've had a bit too much to drink," you pointed out, sighing as he waved over the tavern owner, deaf to your words. "Again."
"Nonsense." Oh, so he did hear you. "You know that the only thing that can make me feel better after a belligerent client is drinking until I have to be carried home..."
"Yet you have the gall to lecture the Traveler on the health issues caused by drinking."
"I just warned them a bit!"
"Hm."
Kaveh peeked up at you through his fingers, red eyes boring into your own. The beginnings of a pout formed on his lips, and you had to look away before he tried his puppy-dog eyes on you.
"You're so cold, Y/N... not even a bit of consolation?" he whimpered, his befuddled mind trying to appeal to your pathos in a way his composed self would never dare try. He'd be apologizing over and over for his childish behavior come tomorrow, you surmised. "Can't you comfort me?"
"I would only sound redundant. You come to me about the same problem every time we drink, so it's only natural that my advice would become repetitive."
"You sound like Alhaitham." The grumble in his voice was far too obvious.
"At least I have an artist's mindset and don't stew in books all day long."
"Hardly matters when you talk just as calculatingly as an Akademiya scholar..."
You heave a sigh. Banter wasn't going to make Kaveh feel better—if it did, he'd get along with Alhaitham far better. You opted to wave Lambad over, requesting a glass of water and the bill. You were also quick to shut down Kaveh's attempts to request a seventh glass of alcohol, promising a hefty tip if the tavern owner didn't bend to his whim.
The architect once again shot you a pout, but you merely moved to his side, rubbing circles onto his back as soothingly as you could manage. His crimson eyes began to droop at your actions.
Lambad offered you the water, and you offered him a hefty pouch of Mora, which he gladly took as he bid you farewell. You pushed the cup to Kaveh's lips, and he shot you a look.
"I can drink it myself... I'm not a child."
"You were acting like you had to be coddled like one only moments earlier. Shall I leave you to stumble home by yourself?"
"No! No... You're so mean," he sighed, downing the glass. It seemed to help him regain his bearings, even if only slightly. "Remind me to send you the Mora for my half of the bill later..."
"More like your three quarters," you joked, nudging him as you helped him to a stand. "Don't worry about it. I'll cover tonight's bill."
"But—"
"For a man in debt, you sure do seem keen on losing money." When he glared at you, you chuckled. "Sorry. Low blow."
"Hmph."
"Come, now. How about we go take a seat on the Divine Tree, overlook the docks for a bit? I don't suppose you want to get back to a scolding from Alhaitham anytime soon."
"Yeah... sounds good."
That's how you ended up leading Kaveh to a small root (well, small in comparison to the rest of the Divine Tree), sitting beside him and placing an arm around his shoulder to keep him upright.
He pillowed his head on your shoulder without much reservation, another byproduct of his liquid confidence.
"Have you ever thought about taking a break? I don't think I've seen you look this tired in a long while, Kaveh."
"I would, but you know... Bills to pay, groceries to buy... Not a day goes by that I can live without Mora," he sighed.
"What if I treated you to a vacation in Fontaine? I have some work to complete there. You could relax for a week or two, take your mind off of everything."
"I appreciate the offer... but I'd feel like I'm shirking my responsibilities. Besides, I don't want to bump into my mom, and make her think I'm there to barge in on her new life."
You raised a brow, a bit surprised at his thinking. You had met Faranak in the distant past, and she was as much of a doting mother as Kaveh was a momma's boy.
At the same time, though, you knew the way Kaveh felt. It was easy to fall into the habit of assuming yourself a burden to everyone, no matter how far from the truth it was.
"She would never think that," you said at last.
"I know..."
The blonde man shifted uncomfortably on your shoulder, so you moved to pull him onto your lap instead, allowing him to rest snugly. He looked about ready to protest—not even alcohol could muddle his mind that much, so as to not be embarrassed by your forthcoming action—when he was immediately shut up by your fingers carding through his locks.
It felt nice, very nice, in fact. Kaveh could feel himself nearly drifting off, the contact serving as just the comfort he needed for his down mood.
"Well, if you're willing to wait a bit longer for your vacation, let's go to Mondstadt. It sounds better for an alcoholic like yourself anyways."
"Really? I'm not that bad."
At your unimpressed glare, he stared out at the docks, blushing.
"...I'll try to drink a little less. But if you're willing to have me, I guess Mondstadt does sound nice."
You hummed, pleased at his response, staring at the moon hanging low on the horizon. With a more upbeat smile than before, you nudged him gently, beginning to weave small braids into his hair.
"Look at that moon. A lovely night. Doesn't this kind of beauty just get your creative juices flowing?"
Unbeknownst to you, crimson eyes flicked up to your smiling face, a flush that wasn't quite from any alcohol making its way to Kaveh's pale cheeks.
"...Yeah. Very lovely, indeed."

It's so wild to me that people will get filler and Botox and do like 30 step skincare routines but refuse to stop drinking and vaping etc cause I had such a good FaceTime with my dad today and like not only is he showing up so different and attentive and strong and clear as a father now that he's sober but he looked so good and I kind of can't stop thinking about how he's in his 60's and has always had a bad complexion and after a year of not drinking and doing yoga and therapy he literally looks like a decade younger and I think it's such a scam people push plastic surgery and expensive skincare on us as a society and yet not a soul is suggesting that maybe the best thing for our health is not poisoning ourselves
Like so many of my loved ones are heavy drinkers (have at least one drink most days, heavier on weekends) and have problems with their immune system and get sick really easily which can def be affected by so many factors but like it's just crazy to see an alcoholic who's literally been in my life since the beginning get sober and be like wow it's not just a matter of addiction and substance it was like actually not letting his body function at it's true capacity
Like I wonder how many of us walk around drinking and smoking and then wondering why we have early hair thinning problems, dull skin, and constantly catching colds and flues while we actively destroy our immune system
Like we all know alcohol lowers our immune systems ability to fight and be strong and do its job but it's so amazing to actually see someone you love get healthier than you've ever seen them
Even though I've been sober for a few years now too it does really inspire me that it's worth the trouble not just emotionally and mentally but physically too in so many ways!!!!

Ch. 15: Management
Yoongi has no idea one of their managers witnessed him being carried out to Jin’s car by the other members at the party. None of them have any idea that that manager immediately began doing his own investigation. It didn’t take long for him to put the pieces together and realize that Yoongi has a problem and that it’s been going longer than they expected.
Manager Seo Dojoon was the one who witnessed Yoongi’s condition the night of the party. He, like everyone else, knows Yoongi enjoys having a drink, so the times Yoongi asked for a bottle of something he thought nothing of it. Then he talked with another manager who mentioned getting alcohol for Yoongi as well. Once a third manager chimed in with the same story, Dojoon decided a meeting with all 8 managers needed to be held.
It didn’t take much for them to gather more than enough evidence of Yoongi’s drinking problem. They compiled receipts of all of the drinks Yoongi requested and it was clear he had a problem. There were days where Yoongi would ask for a large bottle of whiskey from one manager and then ask another for a bottle of gin that same day, then request tequila the same evening from a third manager.
The discussion then turned to Yoongi’s behavior while on tour. Though he seemed perfectly fine during this recent comeback, they couldn’t ignore the tour. One manager mentioned Jin asking for Yoongi’s room key one night. Another night Namjoon asked another manager for his room key. If Yoongi looked unwell or distant one of the members always had a story or excuse to give the managers, which further let them know that the members are all aware of what’s going on. They’ve been aware, they’ve been hiding it, and now their managers feel it’s time to discuss it with them.
Hyeri couldn’t miss another day of work, so after spending a day comforting Yoongi she was right back at work the next day. Meanwhile, the rest of the guys have been summoned to a meeting with management. It takes no time for them to notice Yoongi’s absence and realize they can’t hide Yoongi’s habit any longer.
The meeting went on for two hours with each of them explaining Yoongi’s situation. They all said they didn’t know just how much Yoongi had been drinking, but they were sure it was a lot. They were shocked to see all of the alcohol purchases the managers made for him. A lot doesn’t even begin to describe it, and they all start to seriously fear for his health. Being clean throughout their comeback seemed promising, but his relapse the other night along with the bottle of wine he had the following night, makes them feel it’s time to finally get him some help. Real professional help that they can’t provide.
The good thing is that they’re done with their comeback so Yoongi can take his time to recover well. Any other projects he has can be put on hold for now. The hard part is deciding on a plan for him that will be effective and most importantly low key. Sending him to a regular rehab facility where the public could possibly find out about this is out of the question. But he needs to go somewhere. Home is too tempting.
Home is very tempting. Yoongi has hardly moved since he woke up. He got up to eat the breakfast Hyeri left for him then crawled back into bed. He stayed there awhile stuck in his head. Stuck in his head is the last place he needs to be, though.
By noon, he’s already returning home from a quick trip to a nearby store for soju. He only got one small bottle, but he knows he shouldn’t have gotten anything at all. He should have never went out in the first place.
As if he wasn’t already filled with guilt and self loathing, he receives a message from one of the managers that they’re having a meeting with the group and he’ll be by to pick up Yoongi shortly. Yoongi couldn’t decline, even though by now he’s already finished the bottle of soju and his head is swimming.
He rolls off the couch and tries to quickly get himself ready. He tells Hyeri about the meeting and admits to her that he’s had soju. He then assured her that he would be fine because a manager is picking him up so he won’t be driving. He goes into the bathroom to brush his teeth, rinse with mouthwash, and try hiding his red puffy eyes with eye drops and an ice pack from the freezer.
After the discussion the managers and other members had, they felt it was time to bring Yoongi in to talk to him. They were afraid that he may have already started drinking so calling him in suddenly could go wrong for many reasons. They also didn’t want Yoongi to have his car which would give him the opportunity to stop by a liquor store on his way there or back. One of the managers took it upon himself to pick Yoongi up to avoid any issues.
Yoongi has no idea what’s going on. When he got into the manager’s car he asked if everything was ok since it’s not usual for them to have a sudden meeting like this. The manager only told him they would discuss with everyone when they arrive.
When they get to the office and arrive in the meeting room, Yoongi is surprised to see everyone is already there. Everyone looks like they’ve been there for some time too. When he sits down between Jin and Namjoon he can feel the tension in the air. Now he’s nervous and his mind is going through a million different things that this could be about.
“Yoongi,” Dojoon starts. “We called this meeting because we have noticed something that we feel needs to be addressed and resolved immediately.”
Those words are daunting, and the way everyone else is avoiding Yoongi’s gaze gives him an idea what this is about to turn into. Management has caught wind of his drinking and now he’s fucked.
“It seems your drinking has gotten excessive and we’re afraid for both your ability to continue performing with the group and your health,” Dojoon continues. “We have records of all of your alcohol purchases that you’ve requested from us on the management team, as well as statements from your members who have witnessed various incidents during the world tour that were direct results of your drinking.”
Yoongi’s heart drops. He didn’t want it to come to this. He thought his brothers were there to support him, not rat him out. Yet here he is listening to everything he had gotten into during the tour and after. They know the why, they know most of the when, and they know some of the how. After a few minutes Yoongi is just wishing Dojoon would stop talking because he can’t stand to hear any more. He knows he’s fucked up. He’s been fucked up. He’s fucked up right now.
At the end of detailing all of their evidence, Dojoon opens the room for the members to say anything else they feel needs to be said. Yoongi doesn’t want them to. He wants to run away. He hopes that no one has anything to say, but they do. The moment Jimin starts speaking, Yoongi knows he’s in the middle of a full on intervention and all he wants to do is run and hide.
At the end of everyone’s comments, Yoongi breaks down and cries. It’s all too much for him, and still being under the influence of soju makes this even harder. He pleads for everyone’s forgiveness. He explains that he thought he could stop on his own but it’s hard. He tries to tell them that he’s been good since they got back from tour and only had his little slip up at the party. It may be a setback, but he assures it’s only a small one.
“You know it’s a slippery slope, Hyung,” Jimin says. “You even had a bottle of wine the next day.”
“I-“ Yoongi hesitates realizing that Hyeri would be the only reason why they would know that. “I know I shouldn’t have had that bottle, but it’s really not as bad as before. I know I worried you all during the tour but I’m much better now. I slipped up, but I’m back on the right track. I was clean the entire comeback.”
“Hyung,” Namjoon says. “Did you drink today?”
“What?” Yoongi asks trying to play dumb.
“I can smell alcohol on you,” Namjoon says.
Everyone else looks surprised and very disappointed. No one could smell it, but once Yoongi started talking Namjoon could smell the soju on his breath along with his mint flavored attempts to hide it. Jin smelled it too. They had Yoongi sit in that seat because everyone agreed that if he had drank today those two would be the ones to notice faster than anyone else.
“What?” Yoongi repeats having no more excuses to give.
“I smell it too, Yoongi,” Jin says.
The managers look at each other and Dojoon nods. The varying looks of disappointment is burning Yoongi from the inside out.
“Yoongi,” Dojoon says. “We’ve arranged a treatment plan for you.”
“Treatment plan?” Yoongi questions. “What kind of treatment plan?”
“We have a counselor that can help you work towards being back to your healthy self. We want you to be sober and healthy. We don’t want you to think you can never drink again, we just want you to be ok enough to not overindulge.”
“Ok,” Yoongi nods still a bit skeptical. “So I just go talk to this counselor?”
“Well…” Dojoon hesitates. Everyone in the room seems to be looking down and Yoongi knows that’s not good. “The counselor will come to you. We…we cleared your schedule for the foreseeable future so that you can stay at a remote location we have setup.”
“A what? Where?” Yoongi asks in disbelief. A counselor isn’t a problem, but clearing his schedule so he can stay at a remote location? That seems a bit much to him.
“It’s not a bad location,” Dojoon tries to assure him. “It’s one that had been considered for In the Soop with Tomorrow by Together at first. It’s a peaceful property and we’ll make sure you have everything you need. The counselor will come to that location and work with you until you both feel you’ve made enough progress in your recovery to return home. Of course, we would like for you to continue seeing the counselor after that as well.”
“B-but I don’t need to go away from home to see a counselor,” Yoongi pleads. “Why can’t I just see a counselor here? They can come to my place, it doesn’t matter, but why do I need to leave?”
“Hyung,” Hobi says. “There’s too much temptation for you at home. I’m sorry, we just felt it would be better for you this way.”
“Guys,” Yoongi exasperates trying to hold back another wave of sobs.
“Seriously, Yoongi,” Jungkook says dropping all honorifics. Other than a short statement he made to express how Yoongi’s drinking makes him sad, he hasn’t said very much the entire meeting. “We don’t want to lose you.”
Yoongi’s heart breaks at Jungkook’s words. His big eyes trying to hide his sadness is setting Yoongi’s heart on fire. He’s so upset with himself for letting it come to this. He thought he could get by on his own, but he can’t. He needs the help that they’re trying to give him right now.
“When you go home one of us will wait as you pack your things, then you’ll be taken to the house,” Dojoon says.
“Today?” Yoongi asks in shock. “Like right now??”
“Right now, Yoongi,” Jin says softly.
“I…no, I can’t right now,” Yoongi begs. “I need to prepare. A-and Hyeri. I can’t just disappear. I need to tell her.”
“She knows,” Namjoon says feeling a bit of guilt for having talked to Hyeri about this behind Yoongi’s back.
“She knows?”
“We…I talked to her before we brought you in. She’s-“ Namjoon pauses trying to maintain his composure. This is hurting him more than he imagined it would. “She knows everything and she gave the ok. She just wants you to be well like the rest of us do.”
“She knows?” Yoongi repeats feeling slightly betrayed. Everyone has been plotting behind his back and he feels it’s unfair for them to make him just pack his things and leave right now.
Namjoon nods with his head hanging. He feels terrible but he knows it’s the right thing for Yoongi. He feels there’s not much they can do now that the managers have found out, telling Hyeri was more of a courtesy.
“But she’s…” Yoongi tries to think of something to say. He can’t possibly go now. “She’s not home right now, I need to see her first.”
Everyone looks at each other having known things would end up similar to this. Yoongi isn’t going to go easily if Hyeri isn’t by his side. They knew he would try to fight back.
“Then we’ll give you until tomorrow at noon,” Dojoon bargains. “At that time we’ll pick you up and that will be it.”
“Do I not get a choice in this at all?” Yoongi is trying his best to get out of this. Yes, he knows he needs help, but he feels this is much too extreme and way too sudden.
“Well sure you have a choice,” Dojoon says. “But given the severity of the situation, your choices are very few.”
“What are they?” Yoongi just hopes one of those choices doesnt require him to stay somewhere secluded. Alone.
“Yoongi, we really believe that this is the best solution for you,” Dojoon says. Everyone else looks uncomfortable but Yoongi just wants an alternate option.
“Do I not have a right to know my other options and decide for myself?” His desperation is heartbreaking for everyone. They didn’t want to do this but they didn’t know what else they could do. He wasn’t going to stay clean on his own at this rate.
“That’s fair,” Dojoon says wishing he wouldn’t have to tell Yoongi his other options, but now he has to. “The other option is to have you check in to a nearby facility. You’ll be closer to home but we can’t offer any protection if you’re found out to be there by the public.”
To Yoongi that’s even worse. He could lose a lot if the world knew he was in rehab for alcoholism. That’s not a good option to him at all.
“The third option,” Dojoon continues with a little apprehension. “If you were to choose to not get treatment at all then…you would have to be suspended from any further activities with the group. With…the company.”
Yoongi feels like all of the oxygen was just sucked out of the room. He feels like he’s going to pass out at those words. Suspended? He can’t fathom not being with his brothers. He can’t imagine not working on music or anything.
“W-what?” Yoongi stutters through the knot in his throat.
“We’re sorry it had to come to this,” Dojoon says. “The last thing we want is to suspend you, that’s why we came up with the treatment plan. We want you to succeed and we want you happy and healthy. However, we can’t let things continue like this. Your conduct is effecting everyone and we feel time away is best. We prefer if you spent the time getting well, but if you choose not to we’ll have no other choice but to continue moving forward without you present.”
Yoongi can’t speak, he can only cry. Namjoon tries to say something but he chokes on a sob as well. Everyone is emotional because no one wants this, but they feel there’s no other choice. They love each other and the members could never imagine going on without Yoongi, but they want him to realize how serious this is. There’s not a dry eye in the room. Every time Yoongi tries to speak the only thing that comes out is a hoarse cry.
“We promise we’ll take care of everything you need while you’re getting treatment at the house we have prepared,” Dojoon says softly. “If you choose to.”
Yoongi nods having no fight in him. It’s scary to think about, but if the choice is to go away for a bit to get clean and hopefully save all of the relationships he’s damaged with his drinking or basically get dropped from everything he’s devoted his life to, then it’s a no brainer. His agreement to get treatment is a relief for everyone else, but only a small one. It’s still painful to have to basically send Yoongi away for a while. Much more painful than when they all enlisted.
Before leaving the meeting, all of the guys hugged Yoongi and expressed how much they love him. Namjoon apologized for talking to Hyeri without him knowing, but he knew that she would want to know what’s going on and Yoongi would worry if she didn’t. Yoongi understands. Despite the way his mind tries to make him feel betrayed, he knows they all have his best interest in mind. That doesn’t make it hurt any less at all.
The ride home is quiet and suffocating. When he gets inside he isn’t sure what to do with himself. Hyeri isn’t home yet and he hasn’t heard from her all day. She never responded to his message earlier but knowing that she already knew about this entire operation he can see why. He told her about the bottle of soju and she probably didn’t respond out of disappointment or maybe frustration.
He decided to go into the closet and start packing. He isn’t even sure what he needs to take with him or how much since there’s no telling how long he’ll be there. He wishes he could have a drink. Just one more before he has to go away, but he was told that someone would be monitoring and if he left home before being picked up at noon tomorrow, he would be taken immediately. He isn’t sure who would be monitoring him or how, but he doesn’t want to find out. All he has is the hope that maybe there’s a bottle of something he or Hyeri missed in one of his hiding places.
He starts digging through every piece of clothing in the closet. His usual hiding places being in random pockets and wherever he could fit a drink. To his surprise he finds a small half filled bottle of a strawberry lemonade liquor that he’s almost certain had been there since before he enlisted. He can’t remember exactly where the bottle came from or the note that fell out with it, but he’s sure it’s similar to how he had a forgotten bottle of whiskey in his car.
Regardless of its origin, Yoongi opens the bottle and instantly downs the whole thing while cursing himself. Suddenly he’s hit with a strong taste of garlic, cough syrup, peppers, and something else he can’t quite put his finger on, but it doesn’t make the drink taste any better.
“What the fuck is this?” He mumbles opening the note that was with it.
If you find this I hope you don’t drink it. If you drink it I hope it makes you think again next time before you have a drink. -H
“Goddammit,” he sighs. He puts his head in his hands and cries. All he seems to do these days is cry. “I’m such a disappointment.”
Hyeri doesn’t know that Yoongi didn’t go straight to the treatment house after the meeting. She was surprised and a bit worried to see lights on when she returned home. She slowly went to the bedroom until she heard him crying in the closet. He didn’t notice her at first so she simply stood there and watched as her heart sank to the floor at the sight of him. Her tears begin falling when she notices the bottle she planted to see if he’d fall for it is sitting empty next to him. He was so eager for a drink that he finished off the half filled bottle before it hit him that it wasn’t alcohol.
“What are you doing?” She finally cries to him. “Why are you here?” She sounds desperate. She thought him getting treatment would be the thing he needs. It would clean him up and they can be happy again. She won’t have to worry so much. But instead he’s here crying on the floor after attempting to have another drink. To her, this is the sight of her relationship ending if he’s not getting treatment.
“Hyeri?” He stands and wipes his face. He can see her tears and he steps towards her to hold her but she backs away.
“What are you doing?” She asks again.
“Baby, I-“
“Why are you not at treatment?!”
“I’m going,” he cries feeling more hurt by her backing away from him. “Hyeri I’m going I just came to pack. They’re picking me up at noon tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?” She’s a little skeptical. He could very easily be lying just to justify him being there trying to sneak another drink. She wanted him to be gone when she got home, not because she didn’t want to see him, but because she knew that if he wasn’t there that means he’d be at treatment. It also meant not having to say a very very hard goodbye to him.
“At noon,” he nods. “I mean it.”
“Why? Why didn’t you go?” She cries. “Why did you come home and,” she gestures to the empty liquor bottle. “Why?”
“I’m sorry, Hyeri,” he says trying and failing again to pull her into an embrace. “I’m so fucking sorry and I know you’re probably tired of hearing me say it, but I mean it.”
“I just want you to get help,” she cries. “I don’t want to lose you, Yoongi, but you’re making it so hard. You were supposed to be gone already!”
“Baby-“
“What if there was actually alcohol in that bottle?! What if that was the last drink of your life? If I had come home to find your body laying here on the floor, what then?!” Each one of her words gets louder and louder. Her tears are streaming down her face and her breathing is frantic.
Yoongi doesn’t know what to say. He fucked up and fucked up again. The love of his life is at the end of her rope. Everyone in his life is. He wants to hold Hyeri. She’s his comfort. His safety blanket. But she won’t let him touch her. She can’t let him. The moment he touches her she knows she’ll break and want him to stay. She’s never had this much trouble seeing him off for an extended amount of time before, but not knowing how long he’ll be gone, or what state he’ll return in, makes it feel almost impossible for her. She would have had an easier time if she came to an empty home.
“You need to go, Yoongi,” she cries again. “Go get well, and when it’s over my Yoongi can come home. My Yoongi that I’ve missed so much. I want him back.”
“I’ll go,” he cries. “I promise I won’t be back until I’m better.” One more failed attempt to at least take her hand and he simply can’t stand it anymore. “Now. I’ll go now.”
He pulls out his phone and taps out a frantic message for a manager to pick him up and take him to the treatment house. He doesn’t bother packing clothes, he only grabs his backpack and stuffs his phone charger and a few toiletries inside. Hyeri sits at the edge of the bed watching him through her tears. She’s afraid of what will happen once he leaves, but it’s the last hope she has that it will be for the better.
It’s a painful silence between them as they wait for a manager to arrive. Hyeri can hardly look him in the face without getting choked up again. He can see every bit of pain on her face and it hurts like hell for him to not be able to comfort her.
The manager finally arrives and Yoongi gets ready to leave. Hyeri still can’t look at him and she doesn’t move from the edge of the bed even when he stands in the doorway waiting for her to say something before he leaves.
“I love you,” he says softly. “I love you so much, Na Hyeri.”
“I love you too,” she whispers still looking at the floor. “So much it hurts.”
He stands there a moment holding his breath so he doesn’t break down into tears again. She won’t move. So he turns and leaves.
The moment he gets into the manager’s car he lets everything out. He cries and can’t get himself to stop the entire car ride.

there's this level of dissociation that goes hand in hand with daydreaming and i feel like it's something i wouldn't know how to begin explaining to somebody who's anti-endo.
maladaptive daydreaming is not inherently caused by trauma. it's considered something you use to cope with it. but for a LOT of people, and as confirmed in multiple studies, it is a dissociative disorder. there's even a level of plurality with it.
Tumblr media
you have these people in your head, and you cant destroy them. a lot of them can feel like REAL people. you create worlds, plot lines, and you connect with these characters in a way where they slowly become their own being. their own person. how is this ANY different from being plural?
Tumblr media
the answer is: it's really not. if you view plural as synonymous with systemhood then maybe i can see why you'd have a problem with the phrasing, but based off of the actual definitions of plural, maladaptive daydreaming fits the criteria.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the next issue that people tend to have with maladaptive daydreaming being considered plural is that maladaptive daydreaming isn't its own disorder. but something doesnt need to be a disorder for it to be significant in the mental health industry.
a common "rebuttle" of endogenic systems is that they "appropriate" other cultures, but what most people making this argument fail to realize is that, this is HOW culture works. western culture is actively affected by the cultures of other areas. do you genuinely believe that theres not a single Buddhist in america practicing tulpulmacy? that this is SOLELY a non-western phenomenon? then why is "traditional traumagenic" mentioned at all, and not JUST traumagenic?
Tumblr media
but there are articles that talk about the importance of listening to the internet, and the words they've cultivated. something i've been told is irrelevant because "an endo made that word" IS BEING heard by therapists all across the globe, not just in america.
Tumblr media
"the reader is reminded that culture is dynamic rather than static, meaning that just as our understanding of the online community is different today than it was twenty years ago, this will continue to shift and evolve into the future as well"
things CHANGE. research ADVANCES. and with that, we also know that maladaptive daydreaming is BEYOND VALID on the dissociative spectrum. it has ALWAYS been there, it just wasn't considered a disordered behavior before the 2000s.
Tumblr media
on top of this, there's a study that further affirms it's place in the endogenic sphere specifically.
Tumblr media
despite this, her brain scans showed "great activity in the ventral striatum, the part of the brain that lights up when an alcoholic is shown images of a martini. Frankly it was super strong"
this means she isn't just mind wandering. mind wandering is what people THINK daydreaming is.
"Mind wandering refers to the occurrence of thoughts that are not tied to the immediate environment—thoughts that are not related to a given task at hand"
mind wandering lights up the Default Mode Network side of the brain, the DMN. the DMN controls Autobiographical information, Memories of collection of events and facts about one's self, Self-reference, Referring to traits and descriptions of one's self.
maladaptive daydreaming has its own dissociative absorption, and it affects the brain differently than mind wandering. it's a proper form of dissociation.
Tumblr media
and..would you look at that?? spiritual practices are mentioned. i wonder which endogenic system that reminds me of! (much love to sophie!). it's just further credence towards the fact that non-traumatic systems can exist. why else would maladaptive be on the spectrum, honestly?
trauma doesn't CAUSE maladaptive daydreaming. trauma doesnt cause dissociative absorption. they are ALL coping mechanisms as a way to deal with whatever trauma may be going on-- or it can literally be a choice in the sense that you can actively choose to get absorbed into a book, or how you choose to maladaptive daydream. you can let it interfere with your life and become debilitating and disordered (because sometimes people dont WANT to change) but this doesnt mean it's traumatic.
with all this being said, how is this not a valid presentation of plurality?

Bringing back my headcanons(sfw and nsfw) about James Ironwood, most of them are silly af:
-James’ ears are the first things turn red when he consumes alcohol.
-James’ neck is sensitive af, especially, his adam’s apple. He won’t show his neck to anyone unless he trusts them.
-His waist is smaller than other hunky men around him.
-He doesn’t have time to shave or even groom his beard. He just…lets it grow. Sometimes, there’s a couple of thick, black hairs on his working desk because his beard sheds…
-James’ hair is soft af and his soldiers always want to brush his hair by their hands once.
-James will let children(maybe random children in the party or his soldiers’ children) play with his beard. But children are full of energy so they would grab and pull his beard for fun but he wouldn’t be angry. James Ironwood just loves to play with kiddos.
-James has candies and some snacks in his working desk’s drawer. He won’t leave his chair for meal until he has everything all done so he’ll be starved if there’s nothing he can eat in his office.
-James can only have coffees for the whole day without eating anything else. He can work 16 hours straight if no one forces him to go home.
-Clover usually passes by James’ office, opens the door then looks inside without saying anything and leaves. He just wants to check on his boss.
-James will let his students help him to roll his sleeves if his arms are acting up. The kids would love to help their Headmaster-General…
-Half of his students see him as their father figure and their parents always complain that “The General has stolen my kid.”
-James’ hand writing is quite nice because one of the the first things he had to learn after lost the half of his body was writing by himself.
-James Ironwood has PTSD and depression is canon. But in my headcanon, his PTSD and depression cause to another mental health problem such as GAD. James has to deal with too many mental problems but he always refuses to have a personal therapist because he thinks his “little” mental problems aren’t worth.
-Young James Ironwood was called “National treasure” by many broadcasters after what he has done for Atlas.

3 Less-Known Reasons Why Men Don’t Talk about Mental Health
Hi there. Man here. I’ve worked for Mental Health America for over three years, and sometimes, I still find it hard to talk about how I’m feeling. Why is this? We have robust evidence showing that men suffer from mental health conditions at similar rates to women. Four out of five people who die by suicide are men. Celebrities like Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and many others have talked publicly about their struggles with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, or other mental health concerns. So have others in the public eye, like the late John Saunders, journalist with ESPN. So have men who hold more traditional, conservative positions of power, such as Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini.
Yet day to day, as we interact with our friends, our families, our partners, and our professional networks, countless men still experience difficulty with even using the words “mental health” in relation to how they feel. In recent years, society has begun to acknowledge the large role that gender norms, social taboos, and cultural contexts play in creating this environment, especially in the United States, but you might not be aware that there are other factors involved as well. These factors are heavily interconnected with gender, society, and culture, but they merit consideration on their own. Here are three less-known reasons why many men (at least in America) still struggle with talking about their mental health.
1. Awareness strategies are not targeted well to men.
Research done to develop the Man Therapy mental health campaign indicates that men respond more strongly to humor (especially dark humor) and, at least initially, to softer mental health language. Once men are engaged enough to learn more, there is often much less resistance to having our concerns contextualized within the lexicon of mental health. Many awareness campaigns fail to take these considerations into account, leading men to “check out” as soon as they see mention of mental health. This can cause men to feel out-of-place or vulnerable when discussing these issues.
2. Men ask for help differently.
Men are much more likely to accept help when there is a chance for reciprocity – that is, when they perceive an opportunity to help the other person in return. This wards off the feeling of “weakness” that is often associated with asking for help. Men also prefer to either fix or at least try to fix issues ourselves when possible, before reaching out for help at all. Instead of seeing this as a barrier, we should look for ways that loved ones, friends, doctors, and others can incorporate this to encourage healthier self-care strategies in men.
A tip: It can seem like an uphill battle to reframe the issues you’re experiencing in the context of “mental health.” If this describes you, try thinking about it as just another problem to fix – another car part to replace, a wall to patch up, or a sick kid to take care of – by approaching it this way, you may start to find meaningful ways to feel better.
3. Men can express mental health problems differently, leading to mis- or under-diagnosis.
Although men and women experience similar symptoms of some mental health concerns, how they manifest and present those symptoms can vary. For example, according to WebMD, women often respond to symptoms of depression with a more recognizable affect – they might appear disheartened, sad, or express that they feel worthless. Although men can demonstrate this as well, we are also more likely to present a more irritable affect – we might respond with anger, frustration, impulsivity, or a variety of other behaviors that aren’t always considered in the context of depression. In fact, these are often dismissed as “acting out.” Or if we respond with increased drug or alcohol use, these actually are seen as normal American male behaviors! This can play into Reason 1 above, leading both us and the people around us to be less-informed about mental health in men.

The number of women dying from alcohol-related diseases has soared in recent years, new figures show, with experts blaming the rise on brands deliberately targeting marketing at women.
The latest data reveals the number of women who lost their lives this way in the UK increased by 37 per cent in five years – surging from 2,399 to 3,293 between 2016 and 2021 and marking the highest levels since records began.
While more men than women still die from alcohol-related diseases, the Office for National Statistics figures show deaths are rising substantially quicker for women than for men, with the latter seeing a 28 per cent in the same period – from 4,928 to 6,348.
Professor Debbie Shawcross, a professor of hepatology and chronic liver failure at King’s College London’s Institute of Liver Studies, said liver disease was a particular problem in female patients.
“Women tend to present with more severe liver disease, particularly alcohol-related hepatitis, and do so after a shorter period of excessive drinking and at a lower daily alcohol intake than men,” she said. “This can be accounted for by differences in body size and composition – less muscle mass.”
Richard Piper, chief executive of the charity Alcohol Change, claimed the main factor causing the surge is the “incessant marketing of drinks towards women” as he called for stricter regulation of alcohol advertising.
Abigail Wilson, from WithYou, a drug, alcohol and mental health charity, described the rise in women dying from alcohol-related liver disease as “very concerning” as she argued alcohol was as damaging as heroin and crack cocaine. “Women generally are less likely to die of alcohol-related causes than men. There is always a gap there but the gap is closing, and that is really concerning.”
The Independent can also report that:
The number of deaths among women attributed to alcohol-related liver disease in England increased from 1,533 to 2,190 deaths between 2015 and 2021 – a 42 per cent rise
The total number of male deaths linked to alcohol-related liver disease climbed by 34 per cent to 3,870 deaths in the same timeframe
Recent research from 33 countries found that British women are the biggest female binge drinkers
Exclusive polling from WithYou shows almost two-thirds of those who seek support online are women, with more than half seeking support for their alcohol use
Roxanne Knighton, who lives in Staffordshire, told The Independent of the pain of losing her mother Melanie to alcohol-related liver disease in March 2022. She was diagnosed with the illness in her late forties.
“All the earliest memories were mum drinking,” the 34-year-old recalled. “She was alcohol dependent – it made her function.”
Ms Knighton said her mother never went to the doctor and was in denial about her drinking. So Ms Knighton made the call instead.
“It was me who called the doctors as she couldn’t get up off the sofa – she was full of fluid,” she added. “It had gone into her belly, she had to be drained, they got 12 litres from her.
“I was looking after her each day. It was four years until she died. It still hurts. I didn’t just lose her, I lost her to the alcohol first. You lose them twice.”
Raising concerns about the “feminisation” of alcohol marketing, Dr Piper highlighted annual reports of major alcohol brands which reveal they are deliberately targeting women.
“This is leading to deaths,” he said. “The second reason would be pricing – alcohol is more affordable now than it has been at any point in the last 20 years so people are drinking more.”
He called for ministers to introduce tighter rules on alcohol marketing and roll out minimum unit pricing for alcohol to make drinks with higher alcohol content more expensive.
Other campaigners warned it is harder for women to get support for alcohol misuse due to services often being tailored towards men. Women routinely do the lion’s share of childcare, meaning they cannot physically find the time, they say.
Helena Conibear, chief executive of the Alcohol Education Trust, attributed the rise in women dying from alcohol-related liver disease to a significant increase in binge drinking in the late Nineties and early 2000s.
Meanwhile, Prof Shawcross argued women who struggle with alcoholism endure greater “cultural stigma” than their male counterparts, which may deter women from pursuing help.
Alcohol-related liver disease often has no symptoms for many years, she added, while women also have lower levels of the enzyme which breaks down alcohol.
Vanessa Hebditch, of the British Liver Trust, said: “With alcohol becoming increasingly accessible and affordable, as well as more ingrained in our culture, more women are drinking to levels that put their health at risk.”
Siobhan Herbert, a project manager, told The Independent she started drinking a bottle of wine a night – and sometimes two bottles on weekend evenings – around 20 years ago.
“When I went out, I drank less,” the 52-year-old added. “I was a bit of a closet drinker. At home, there would be nobody around to witness me getting trollied. My mother was an alcoholic, she was exactly the same. You would have thought growing up, seeing all that through my teenage years, it would stop you, but it is very addictive.”
Ms Herbert said she eventually stopped drinking in June 2022 due to growing fed up with the impact alcohol was having on her physical and mental health.
She added: “I wasn’t putting Baileys on my cornflakes but every day I felt awful. I felt tired and anxious.
“I am a whole new woman now. I feel alive. I have more energy. I am sharper. I do not have anxiety. My depression is gone and all of the problems I was blaming on the menopause have massively improved.”
Sandra Parker, a self-professed “classic binge drinker”, said she would struggle to know how much alcohol she had consumed due to blacking out and would sometimes be in bed for two days afterwards.
The 54-year-old, who stopped drinking in 2018, now coaches women to help them stop or cut down on their alcohol consumption, describing her clients as successful professional middle-class women who are secretly drinking harmful amounts of wine at home.
“They may have a single drink when they are out with people from work, or they may not even drink, but they come home and they have a bottle of wine,” she added. “They have learnt that when they have a drink, they feel less stressed, and it becomes a dependency where they really crave that feeling each night.”
A Department of Health spokesperson said. “Alcohol misuse can ruin lives and destroy families, which is why we are acting to support those most at risk.
“We’ve published a 10-year plan for tackling drug and alcohol-related harms and are investing an extra £532m between 2022 and 2025 to create places for 50,000 people in drug and alcohol treatment services. We are also funding specialist alcohol care teams at one in four hospitals in England, based on those with the greatest need.
“Our 10-year women’s health strategy sets out our plan for improving care and support for women.”

You know... I don't know why, but part of me feels a draw to look into Mormonism. This blog is one reason, but another reason is because of how happy Mormons seem to be... I'm not sure if they'd really want me around though because I'm non-binary, supportive of LGBTQ+ rights and don't really want any kids because of how trauma made me need to focus on myself so much. I just don't have the energy to raise anyone... Then there's the small "problem" of me being kind of witchy too in my own subtle way.
Still... when I look at Mormons, I feel a little jealous of the kind of community y'all seem to have. It's like you're all part of a really big family. That's something I've craved since childhood... having a stable and non-abusive family to call my own... maybe that's what I'm trying to look for when I say I want to look into Mormonism... but again, who would want someone like me, considering that I'm transitioning and don't want to get rid of this part of myself?
I don't know... but still, I want to learn more for one reason or another, despite everything. Do you have any advice or resources I could look into? Thank you.
~Applejack-Yarn
Mormons do have a reputation for being happy, and we are good at building a sense of community.
I think the sense of happiness comes from a couple things. There's a strong push to be engaged in doing service and donating to causes. The focus on family seems to have a positive impact on the mental health of children. Mormon theology offers a sense of purpose and a meaning to life. The Mormon code of health (no coffee, tea, alcohol, tobacco) contributes to a healthier lifestyle. There's also an emphasis on education.
Mormons have a strong sense of community. I love that to you it feels like we're part of a really big family. We're encouraged to go each Sunday, and often have an activity or meeting during the week. That's more than I see my neighbors! One way we're encouraged to attend weekly is we're given assignments (we refer to them as "callings'), such as teaching a class or leading the music, which means we're always interacting with each other and that builds relationships.
In many ways it is nice, but if you don't fit in then it's not always so great. Being queer is one way a person doesn't fit as the church hasn't yet incorporated queer people into its theology, such as its views of what heaven is like or what is our purpose in life. It's hard to be in a space and hear rejecting messages and feel like I'm broken or not wanted or can't be good enough.
One of the great things about the rise of social media is Mormons who don't fit the mold found each other and can see we're not alone. I think even in online spaces like Tumblr, we we work to build a sense of community, and that feels comforting.
By all means, feel free to follow us and to engage with us. I suggest following the hashtag #queerstake. Btw, a local Mormon congregation is called a ward and a collection of several wards is called a stake, thus queerstake.
As for resources, I've been thinking and I'm not sure what to recommend. I think interacting with queer Mormons is likely the best, and you can find many of us at queerstake (queerstake also is used on other social media platforms)

SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS: A GUIDE FOR WRITERS.
hey i’m a mental health therapist and a writer here on tumblr dot com, back again with another “how to write mental health” guide! this time we’re talking about SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS! this is MY very specific wheelhouse because i do intensive outpatient work for a substance use disorder treatment agency!
i have seen SO MANY gross mischaracterizations of addictions on tumblr, specifically within the indie roleplay community, from demonizing addicts to misinterpreting addiction to calling their “has a glass of sometimes after work and blacked out once after one night of drinking” little dudes alcoholics. for the purpose of this post, i’m going to try and stick to the CLINICAL side of addiction because there’s a pretty huge addiction recovery/sobriety culture that is incredibly lovely and supportive but it can get convoluted with all the different programs there are out there.
now, let’s start with what makes a substance use disorder a substance use disorder. a substance use disorder is any sort of PROBLEMATIC USE OF A SUBSTANCE THAT INTERFERES WITH DAILY LIFE AND DAILY FUNCTIONS. depending on the specific substance the diagnostic criteria looks a little different but all substance use disorders diagnoses more or less follow the following criteria ( pulled from the opioid use disorder criteria in the DSM-5 ):
a problematic pattern of [drug/alcohol] use leading to clinically significant impairment or distress, as manifested by at least 2 of the following, occurring within a 12-month period:
[drug/alcohol] are often taken in larger amounts or over a longer period than was intended.
there is a persistent desire or unsuccessful efforts to cut down or control [drug/alcohol] use.
a great deal of time is spent in activities necessary to obtain the [drug/alcohol], use the [drug/alcohol], or recover from its effects.
note: THESE DO NOT JUST INCLUDE ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES. i’ve had clients with alcohol use disorders wake up early and hang around the gas station until it opens at 7am to get their first 12-packs for the day, go through great lengths to hide alcohol from spouses, stash alcohol around their work spaces so they can drink periodically throughout the day, etc. not necessarily illegal, definitely problematic.
craving or a strong desire or urge to use [drug/alcohol].
recurrent [drug/alcohol] use resulting in a failure to fulfill major role obligations at work, school, or home.
continued [drug/alcohol] use despite having persistent or recurrent social or interpersonal problems caused or exacerbated by the effects of [drug/alcohol].
note: ask yourself here how your character’s relationships are effected by their drug/alcohol use.
important social, occupational, or recreational activities are given up or reduced because of [drug/alcohol] use.
recurrent [drug/alcohol] in situations in which it is physically hazardous.
continued [drug/alcohol] despite knowledge of having a persistent or recurrent physiological ( physical--think of the body reactions ) or psychological problem that is likely to have been caused or exacerbated by the substance.
tolerance, as defined by either of the following:
a need for markedly increased amounts of [drug/alcohol] to achieve intoxication or desired effect.
a markedly diminished effect with continued use of the same amount of [drug/alcohol].
withdrawal.
debunking some common themes i see across the writing community:
SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS ARE, MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, A RESPONSE TO COMPLEX TRAUMA. i’ve been in this field for 4 years and 99% of the clients i have seen have experienced some degree of trauma. getting absolutely plastered and high is a damn effective way to check out when someone is experiencing chronic trauma and doesn’t want to deal with the overwhelming emotions that come with it.
SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS ARE, MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, CO-MORBID WITH OTHER MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS. similar to the above point, checking out with drugs and alcohol is a damn good way to forget how shit your brain is.
THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER/ADDICTION AND CASUAL DRUG AND ALCOHOL USE. if your character smokes weed at the end of the day, or takes prescription pain pills for chronic pain as prescribed, or goes to the occasional party with their friends on the weekends, or drops acid at a rave, and these things are otherwise not interfering with their lives--that’s not an addiction. that’s casual drug and alcohol use and it’s fine. people are allowed to let loose sometimes.
PLEASE TRY TO STRAY AWAY FROM DEMONIZING A CHARACTER WITH A SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER. a big part of treatment is processing the “why” while also acknowledging that your actions related to your substance abuse have affected others. that does not mean people who are struggling with addiction are less deserving of love and compassion. the reality of addiction is that yes, a lot of folks with an addiction do have very strained relationships and have done unsavory things while in their active addiction. if you come at it from the perspective of “this person is dealing with strong internal turmoil” though, how does your portrayal of your character change? how do their internal monologues change?
CONSIDER WHY YOUR CHARACTER IS TRYING TO CHECK OUT WITH DRUGS AND ALCOHOL. what’s going on in the ol’ coconut that they’re struggling to deal with? alternatively or in addition, do they have something going on PHYSICALLY that they’re trying to deal with, like chronic pain? common feelings associated with people who are in their active addiction are anger, anxiety, grief, self-loathing, depression, sadness, fear--i assume you know feeling words if you’re a writer so i’ll stop there.
NOT ALL ADDICTS ENGAGE IN CRIMINAL ACTIVITY AND EVEN IF THEY DO, THEY ARE NO LESS DESERVING OF LOVE AND COMPASSION. i work primarily with court ordered clients with high criminogenic risk factors. i have groups full of felons and they are some of the loveliest, kindest people i have ever met. similar to substance use disorders, criminality can be a response to trauma. a teen who is growing up in a loving stable home isn’t going to turn to gang activity, an adult with healthy relationships and coping skills isn’t going to hold up gas stations or get into dealing drugs. people are just people. similar to the above point, if your character is engaging in criminal activity, ask yourself why they would be and see if that changes the way you portray them.
that’s all i have for now! feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions because again, this is precisely my wheelhouse. it’s what i treat every day.
cheers, and happy writing!

14 Ways To Live A Healthier Life That Anyone Can Do
Use cast iron, stainless steel, glass, and ceramic cookware/dishes. Use wooden and steel for the utensils. Ditch the plastic and chemicals! They are even finding microplastic in the blood of newborn babies! If you can't afford to switch, switch slowly and buy second-hand! These materials will last through generations!
Buy and cook more fresh, high-quality food. Stop buying premade and processed garbage! The hidden massive amounts of fake sugar and additives in everything is far more damaging than a little bit of extra grass-fed butter or grass-fed meat on your plate. You can find local and even organic produce and meat for cheap at your local freshmarket, mexican grocery store, or asian grocery store. Aldi and Trader Joe's are also healthy yet cheap stores! You will also be surprised how little time it takes to cook versus having something pre-made, and with home-made food you'll have control over exactly how much sugar, fat, etc you have in a given meal. Neither of these are bad in moderation, but the key is moderation!
Prioritize your health and try to create less stress. Brush and floss your teeth, take care of your skin, eat as well as you can, move more, and sleep enough. These are things you should be doing AT MINIMUM to stay healthy. Stress also has a huge impact on health, so it is important to do your best to lower everyday stress and balance your hormones.
Do things that make you feel good. This ties into the less stress philosophy and the rule of everything in moderation, and this looks different for everyone, but generally focus on hobbies and habits that are good for you overall and dont cause addiction or mental health issues. The more things you incorporate into your life that you enjoy, the more you will enjoy your life.
Be aware of your feelings and honor them. No ignoring how you feel deep down! Notice what makes you smile and what makes you sad. Feel it all and try to see what your brain and body are trying to communicate to you about things. Your emotions and thoughts have a purpose, try to see what they're saying.
Try to wear or use more organic materials. Try to use cotton, linen, wool, etc for your clothes, sheets, and more. For jewelry try to use gold, silver, steel, copper, etc. Drop the acrylics and plastics. Invest in your clothing and wear quality materials - your health and wallet will thank you.
Try to kick any drug or alcohol habits. We only have one body in this lifetime and these things WILL catch up to you healthwise. The short-term dopamine is not worth the long-term consequences. Ask anyone who's suffered from their decisions from when they were younger.
Spend more time in nature. Being outside has many health benefits and it does incredible things for mental health. Find a place you can visit outside that brings you peace. Try taking a daily walk.
Learn to set boundaries for yourself. Including towards yourself! If you are pushed past your limits of exhaustion, honor your body and rest. It is okay to have soft, flexible boundaries, or hard boundaries, but they are rules we put in place in regards to ourselves to keep ourselves safe and happy! IE - "If I need sleep I will not keep pushing myself and I will go to sleep" or "I will not put up with being yelled at and I will remove myself from that situation".
Walk as much as you can, while you can. Try to opt out of convenience when possible and walk a little further to the front door of the store or try incorporating a daily walk into your routine. Moderate exercise is great for our health!
Do something daily that will exercise your brain. Whether it is a fun crossword puzzle or just something in your daily life you need to problem solve, do something that is going to flex that brain power and keep those pathways firing. If we don't use our connections, we literally lose them over time!
Talk to at least one person a day for at least 5 minutes. We are social creatures that thrive off community, so it is extremely important for our mental health to find connection with others and feel seen and heard and like we matter. Not only that, routinely reaching out to others will help you make and maintain relationships of all natures!
Educate yourself. Learning shouldn't just stop after you finish schooling. You should continually be trying to further your knowledge about yourself and the world around you. You live in the age where information is readily available all the time, so make an effort to use it to better your life, and learn how to sift through the misinformation as well. Not knowing how to do something is no longer an excuse as an adult when you can easily look it up or ask for guidance.
Consume more positive media and less media overall. What we watch and listen to really affects our thoughts, moods, and subconscious. There is a reason upbeat music motivates us! Try to keep your media exposure to uplifting and feel-good things rather than ones that cause anxiety or sadness.

Foraging for Goldenrod (Solidago)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goldenrod or Solidago blooms in late summer/early fall across much of North America. It's beautiful golden flowers reflect the golden sun of late summer. Goldenrod is edible and medicinal and can be used as a natural dye!!
Identifying Goldenrod
Goldenrod is a member of the Asteraceae or sunflower family and likes open sunny areas like meadows, fields, and forest openings. The stems are tall and stiff with tiny golden-yellow flowers in a dense, pyramid-shaped, pluming cluster. It's a prolific perennial and can grow 0.5-2m tall.
The leaves vary slightly depending on the species of goldenrod, but they're long, narrow, and taper to a point. The edges can be smooth or slightly toothed, or slightly hairy on the underside depending on species.
Goldenrod in my area likes to grow alongside New England Aster. They make such a beautiful combination of purple and yellow and can aid in identification. If you see one you just might see the other!
Tumblr media
Look-Alikes
Goldenrod can sometimes be mistaken for Senecio species like ragwort (left) and groundsel (right). Some Senecio species contain TOXIC pyrrolizidine alkaloids that can cause liver damage. As always please be 100% certain of your identification before harvesting!! That said, senecio's flowers are generally much larger and much fewer than goldenrod's many tiny flowers. They also tend to bloom earlier in the season than goldenrod.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Harvesting Goldenrod
All of the above-ground parts of goldenrod are edible! Harvest by snipping the top of the stems, leaves, and flower heads with scissors (about the top 1/3rd of the plant). The earlier in the blooming season the better! The later blooms tend to be more bitter and can fluff up like dandelions if you want to dry them.
If you're worried about seasonal allergies you should be safe with goldenrod! Goldenrod is insect pollinated so it doesn't need to release pollen into the air.
Whatever you do DO NOT pull up entire goldenrod plants!!! Goldenrod is a massively important plant for hundreds of pollinators including bees, butterflies, beetles, and wasps. Harvest sustainably, no pulling up by the roots, and only snip the tops you'll use!!
You can use goldenrod fresh or dry it by hanging it upside down for about a week (spread it out for adequate airflow!) or in your kitchen oven by spreading in a single layer on baking sheets and baking 4-5 hours at 170F/76C. Store dried goldenrod in an airtight container.
Goldenrod Uses & Benefits
Goldenrod as an herbal remedy is highly anti-inflammatory, great for the kidneys (prevents and flushes kidney stones, helps relieve minor bladder infections), helpful for minor respiratory issues like seasonal allergies and colds, and helps heal minor wounds and swelling when used externally. It's also edible raw or cooked! The leaves can be cooked like spinach or used in lots of tasty fall recipes like this goldenrod cornbread?!? I need it.
Safety Note: Goldenrod has been traditionally used as medicine and is regarded as very safe. That said, goldenrod taken internally has a diuretic effect. If you have any problems with the urinary system or take a diuretic already, PLEASE ask a medical professional before using. Don't use herbal medicines to treat serious health issues or in fragile populations like babies or the elderly without consulting a doctor. I AM NOT A DOCTOR I JUST LIKE PLANTS.
To use your goldenrod medicinally you can make it into tea, tincture, or infused oil. You can also make a goldenrod salve to apply externally!
Goldenrod Tea:
Add 2tbsp of fresh flowers OR 1tbsp of dried flowers to 8oz hot water.
Cover and steep 15-20 minutes before straining.
This tea can be slightly bitter with a sort of anise/licorice flavor. It's great sweetened with a little honey!
Goldenrod Tincture:
Fill a small jar 1/3 - 3/4 full with chopped fresh goldenrod flowers OR 1/4 - 1/2 full with dried goldenrod flowers.
Fill jar with high-proof (40-60%) alcohol like vodka or brandy.
Cap, label, and store out of direct sunlight at least 4-6 weeks. Strain before using.
Your tincture should be good for a year or more. Take a few drops mixed with a spoonful of honey or water. Can be taken up to 3-5 times daily or as needed.
Goldenrod Infused Oil:
Fill a jar 1/4 - 1/2 full with dried goldenrod flowers.
Pour an oil (sunflower, sweet almond, or olive are good options) over the flowers until the jar is full.
Infuse one of 3 ways:
Slow Way - cap jar and place in a dark, cool spot like a cabinet for 4-6 weeks. Strain.
Solar Way - instead of capping the jar cover it with a piece of cheesecloth or scrap of old t-shirt. Set your jar in a sunny window for a few days up to a few weeks. The sun's heat infuses your oil faster! Strain.
Speedy Way - don't cap your jar and set it uncovered in a saucepan containing a few inches of water. Heat on low for 2-3 hours, watching it carefully!! Strain.
Goldenrod Salve: if you made infused oil you can easily make it into a salve!
Add 3.5oz (100g) of your infused oil and 0.5oz (14g) beeswax to a small jar.
Place the jar into a saucepan containing a few inches of water. Heat over medium low until the beeswax melts.
Let cool and apply to minor wounds, sores, swelling, aches & pains.
You can also make a gorgeous yellow or green natural fabric dye from goldenrod!

Yandere Files: Melone X Hostess Club Reader
CW: pregnancy, drinking, drugs, dubious consent, childhood neglect, overstimulation, foot fetish
Notes: Beryl here! Another manipulative yandere post! It’s doesn’t feel very yandere-ish this time. I guess it’s because they’re less violent/forceful and use their words more to get what they want. I hope you fruit lovers enjoy ~ This one is much lewder than the others. Minors DNI
Y/N has been dealt some pretty shitty cards in life. If they were able to describe their life in one word it would be: Unlucky. They had an inattentive mother and mentally abusive and violent stepfather. Where’s the real father? Good question. They dipped out the minute their mother announced she was pregnant.
Their mother was pregnant and just given birth again. She was too lazy to take care of 2 children at once and why does the stepfather want to raise a child that isn’t his own? So they get sent off to boarding school. This wasn’t the best option either. Y/N caused trouble, got into fights, and neglected their school work. They were smart but they only wanted to learn on their own terms.
At age 18 their family stopped financially supporting them and they were left to fend for themselves. All they could afford was a super cheap studio apartment in the dangerous part of Napoli. But good news for Y/N their luck was beginning to turn around. They got a job at a specialty cafe!
The cafe took heavy inspiration from the east for its very accommodating atmosphere. Hostesses and hosts would be pouring wine for their guests, lighting their cigarettes and cigars, sitting with them, conversing, laughing at their jokes, flirting with them, and having a non alcoholic drink with them. Y/N liked this because they liked giving and receiving attention! It’s not that they're necessarily extroverted, they just been starved of the love and attention they needed as a child.
But there’s one thing that they can’t ignore but can’t say anything about…mafia activity. Specifically Passione. But why would that bother Y/N when all they have to do is keep quiet and act like nothings wrong? Easy peasy. In fact Y/N kinda likes when Passione members come in, they spend soooooo much money and it means more money in their pocket! Getting commissions off drinks and the offers of dates for money or luxury goods is huge perk for them!
There’s a regular that comes in that none of the hostess like dealing with. The guy is good looking but he’s aloof and kinda creepy. He always asks weird questions…. Intrusive questions. He never uses his real name. Just Melone. That’s it. Weird. But being the youngest and the newest hostess Y/N was the one who had the misfortune of having to serve him.
"Buonasera signore~. I’ll be at your service tonight. May I serve you?” Y/N asks, slightly sweating. They were nervous.
He looks up from his laptop with a bored expression and looks them up and down. His teal eyes shined slightly with a bit of interest.
“Please sit down.” He said coolly and gets back to typing on his laptop .
He was weird! Just like the others said! Oh man this is going to be a very long night.
“So tell me…are you healthy?” He asks without looking up.
“Uh… what?” That question was odd and took them off guard.
“Are you in a good health condition? No health problems?” He clarified looking back up making eye contact.
Maybe he’s in the medical field… Oh well this is awkward but Y/N is being paid to humor him.
“Yes sir…I am.” Y/N replied.
“Polite too. Interesting. What’s your date of birth and blood type? Also do you smoke or drink? Illicit drugs? I’m clearly not a cop so you can be honest..” He stared back at his screen.
Things are getting weirder and weirder…why does he wanna know all this?
“Ahem… my birthdate is ________ and uh… I don’t know my blood type sorry. I don’t smoke because it’s bad on my skin but I do drink socially. No drugs…other than what I’ve been prescribed.” Y/N rambled.
“Uh uh uh. I don’t need to know why- I just need to know if you do.” He said waving his finger in front of them.
“Rude prick. I better get paid good for this….” Y/N thought.
“So you don’t know your blood type..? Hmm.” He grabbed your hand in one fluid motion and licked it.
“What the fuck?!” Y/N shrieked as they pulled their hand back.
“ Mmmm… according to your delectable fingers your blood type is ____.” He purred as he licked his lips.
“Uh great.” Y/N says in a sarcastic tone. “ Do you need a drink? Because I need to wash my hands…”
He ignored the question and excitedly starts typing on his weird keyboard putting in all the strange information he requested. His excitement was short-lived. “Oh… what a shame. You aren’t a match either. You’re too compatible with the target. Sigh…none of the AFAB here are incompatible. Why is it so difficult this time around???” He says dejectedly.
“I’m sorry..?” They didn’t know what to say.
“Well… I have an hour or two to kill before I gotta get back to work. Let’s use this time wisely and get to know each other. You’re new around here aren’t you? What’s your name?” He asked, showing an ounce of interest.
“Oh so NOW he wants to know about me?! What is up with this guy???” You thought angrily.
You swallowed the anger into the bottom of your stomach and just played along.
“Yeah I’m new. I’m Y/N and I’ve been working here for about a month and a half.” They said. “ I’m assuming you work a very important job since you're glued to your laptop.” You observed.
“Y/N…What a lovely name. It suits you.” He says. “Let’s just say my job is important and dangerous but it’s not currently being valued as much as it should right now .” He subtly hinted at being a part of the familia.
“What made you decide to work here?” He asked. “You look like you belong in university.”
“Well that’s a long story. I can’t afford it. Once I turned 18 years ago my mom and stepdad stopped financially supporting me or… just supporting me in general. So I had to fend for myself. Basically I have no family but I got my own studio apartment and a job here so I’m fully independent now and don’t need them!” Y/N explained.
“Really? That’s quite awful. You never stop being a parent just because your child grew up.” He frowned .
“Yeah…It really makes me wanna make sure that I will never be like them when I become a parent one day.”
They’re interested in having children in the future? Now Melone is genuinely curious. Not to mention that they are healthy and their Zodiac lines right up there with his. Could this be the one? He’s tried so many times but things never seemed to work out for some reason… Well, at least they made good surrogates for Junior. Y/N might be the right soul mate this time!
“Are you free next Sunday?” He asked. “ I want to get to know you better. We could go to that nice park in the good part of town.”
He didn’t give off the best first impression but Y/N was a kind person. Why not give him a chance? It’s not the first time they went on a date with one of their patrons. Maybe they will get another Gucci purse or pair of high heels out of it!
“Sure. Sounds like it will be fun! Do you want me to meet you there or are you gonna meet me at my place?” Y/N asked cheerfully.
“Di molto bene! I’ll meet you at your place then.” He says excitedly.
Y/N wrote down their phone number and address on his receipt and that concluded their meeting for the night.
This might have been a bad idea. Let’s see how it plays out.
——————————-
The moment he sees your tiny cramped apartment he’s internally frowning. That’s no place to start a family. Hand me down furniture and outdated amenities and creepy neighbors…creepy even for him? That’s saying something!
“I never been on a bike before so I’m a little scared.” You confessed and he just smiles and pats on the space behind him.
“Don’t worry! I won’t go that fast! Just hold on to me nice and tight. It’s only a 5 minute drive so it won’t be long.” He said trying to ease your anxiety.
He loved how you clung to him the whole time. Feeling your chest against his back made his thoughts wander to what they looked like without clothing concealing them. These types of thoughts are not new to him of course. So he's easily able to tame his cock from waking up.
He didn’t expect you to be distracted the whole time though. While sitting on the grass at the park after a long walk he kept rambling about pseudoscience and zodiac signs. He stopped for a moment to see what you were looking at. You were looking over at the playground. A mother was kneeling in front of their crying daughter. She was putting a bandage on the little girls scraped knee and kissed it.
He looked at you and you had a mix of emotions all over you. Sadness, happiness, jealousy, confusion…it was a complicated look.
“I wish that were me…” you sighed. “ such a loving family. I want that too.”
He learned a lot about you that day. You were perfect for him. You were neglected and love starved, perfect for the taking. And you’re open to having children! You’re on his wavelength! Oh he’s not going to let you go.
He visits you often at the cafe. He always specifically requests for you and no one else. The others are jealous that you're able to catch his attention and he isn’t creepy towards you. He asks for dates often and buys lots of drinks so you make lots of money from him. He still asks odd questions from time to time…like favorite Kama sutra position , and when your menstrual cycle is. But he’s good at slowly manipulating you into normalizing this behavior. He likes you sitting in his lap while you two talk. He says close contact releases oxytocin.
Many of his dates include shoe and lingerie shopping at the department store. He always insists on putting the shoes on your feet for you. He enjoys massaging your feet too when they’re sore from all the walking. He has to hold back the urge to want to suck on your toes since you’re both in public. But he definitely can’t hold back his hard on seeing you in luxury brand 5 inch heels. Good thing he’s wearing civilian clothes for most of these dates, that jumpsuit wouldn’t hide a damn thing.
Everything is running smoothly. He’s gained your trust, now all he has to do is get you inside his house.
This time though he takes you to hang out at his house. He gets you a glass after glass of wine to make sure you’re nice and drunk so you’re easy to take advantage of. He’s not going to be able to keep his hands off of you and you’re too drunk to say no. He’s feeling you up and shoving his tongue inside your mouth and you’re lazily just reciprocating not really understanding what’s going on but just feeling the warmth build up inside you.
You’re going to wake up in bed with him with no recollection of what happened the night before. He’s just clinging to you, beaming that finally awake.
“Buongiorno Y/N~. Did you sleep well? Last night was… amazing.” He pulled you in close and nuzzled into your chest.
The first time was a little concerning but you trusted him. You assumed you wanted it but just don’t remember. It’s a little awkward but you both reached a huge milestone in your relationship! That’s supposed to be a good thing! You just wished you could remember it…
He uses his manipulation skills to convince you to move in with him and quit your job.
“I think it would be for the best if you got out of that dangerous apartment and moved in with me. I worry so much for your safety. We already spend so much time together, don’t you want to take our relationship to the next level? Also about your job… I’m not really happy with you spending time with other guys. I know it’s just business but I can’t help but feel jealous of another man who even looks at you! You understand right?”
He becomes more controlling once you move in. You cannot leave the house without his verbal permission. And don’t bother trying sneaking out, he has cameras everywhere they’re all linked to his laptop.
He sneaks prenatal vitamins into your food when he cooks for you. The food is always fantastically seasoned so that you can’t taste the pill.
He has a massive sexual appetite and if you can’t keep up with him that’s perfectly okay! Because he’ll give you aphrodisiacs to help with that. Whether you want to or not.
He keeps up with your menstrual cycle and knows when you’re ovulating. When you’re ovulating is when he’s the most ruthless.
He has you nearly bent in half with your legs between your head as he’s pussy drunk thrusting hard and it’s just making lewd squelching noises. He came in you 3 times already and intends on cumming even more deep into your cunt in hopes of you conceiving his children. You're overstimulated and your cunt is overflowing with his cum as he’s panting praises.
“Oh love! You’re slutty pussy keeps pulling me back in~! You’re so addictive that I can’t stop! I can’t wait to see you full and round with my child~! You're going to be a wonderful parent!”
You’re in the bathroom crying and looking at the positive pregnancy test. You don’t know what to do. You wanted a family but everything is happening so fast! You’re afraid of being as bad as your own parents. Thankfully Melone is always here to comfort you.
“You're pregnant? Di molto!!! That’s wonderful news! …why are you crying?” He’s confused.
“I’m scared I won’t be a good parent. I don’t what it’s like to be a good one! I don’t even know how to hold a baby !” You sobbed.
He wiped away your tears and gave you a big warm hug.
“Oh love~. You have nothing to worry about. You’re going to be a great parent I promise! You may not have had the best upbringing but I’ll make sure you and the baby are well taken care of.” He said kissing your forehead. “ You can always trust me.”
You can always trust Melone! He’s very trustworthy. As long as you’re willing to make a big family with him you have a very fruitful future ahead of you!

i'm finishing up yet another rewatch because when am i not rewatching this godforsaken show and all throughout season 2, i kept honing in on all the times we see JJ with that fucking flask and how it is NEVER ADDRESSED. the most we get are the two moments in 2x01 and 2x03 when Kie's telling him to chill out before school and then when she takes the flask from his hand when she thinks he's asleep.
the fact that the closest we got to any acknowledgement of that being a deeper problem was always framed around jiara???? and now we know from the EW articles that JJ's mental health is gonna be a bigger deal (thank fucking god pates i love you and i never said anything bad about y'all) in season 3, which is the jiara season??????? it's all connected and i truly cannot believe i am praising writers for basic set up and payoff but !!!!!! i really thought the flask was their half-assed way of giving JJ some kind of individual arc when they totally dropped all his other plot lines (restitution and Luke/abuse trauma) but i could not be more happy to be proven wrong.
(i mean, they might be talking a big game now, it all comes down to the actual execution but i'm still so fucking excited that they've specifically mentioned taking a look at the pogues' mental states and it gives me a lot of hope okay)
everyone's already said this but i really think we're gonna see JJ struggling hardcore with being back home and not knowing what his place is as the dynamic of the pogues has changed so much. Cleo and Pope are paired off, since we now have confirmation that she'll be staying with him and his family. John B is gonna be reunited with his father, and he and Sarah have got each other as well. Kie has her parents to go back to, as strained as that relationship is. JJ is very clearly the odd one out.
poguelandia is the first time that JJ has ever been away from the obx. he has never existed outside the bubble of what it means to be a Maybank in the obx. so he's gotta feel so free, right?? he can provide for his family by fishing and they can get by just well enough to survive and live off the land and they have each other, and that's always been enough for JJ.
and if he and Kie gravitate closer on poguelandia like we all think they will, then all of that happiness and a taste of his surf trip dream will suddenly get ripped away from him when they have to go back home, and he's absolutely gonna spiral. he's gonna pull away and deflect and overcompensate with alcohol and use all the other immature coping mechanisms we've seen him use before, and i am so fucking ready for this angst holy shit cause there's just been so much set up for it. the pates love a fast burn so i think we were all kinda worried about the slow burn with jiara, but my expectations are officially sky high. i'm so glad that they're using the established character flaws and insecurities for JJ as part of the angst, and i'm assuming Kie's issues with her parents will be the external force adding onto that and making it even angstier.
it's not mind-blowing writing whatsoever, but after season 2 kinda let us down in terms of giving us insight into JJ's headspace, i'm just over the moon to see that it might've all been a set up for something bigger. they knew they wanted to save the deep dive into JJ's trauma for the jiara season because it's so integral to understanding how JJ receives and doesn't receive love. you can't put JJ in a romantic plot line without addressing all that trauma and self-hatred, and it's something fic writers have created masterpieces about and i can't stop saying it but i am just so fucking happy that the pates are putting it in canon. they really do care about these characters huh
if season 3 ends up being a disaster and the trauma plot line is disappointing as hell then no one saw this i didn't write it you didn't read it
