one thing i love about lighter is even though it's a collab and they didn't write most of the lyrics, behind the happy vibe there is still the 5sos emotion and themes to it. references to colours being brighter (and i've said before about the use of 'black and white' and 'colourblind' in calm evolving into 'darkness turns to gold' and several other colours on 5sos5, then now there is this). like it's not just an airy pop song with lines like 'when the world is heavy as stone' 'when i'm hollow' and it's easy not to pick up on those if you're just looking for a bop to listen to even when you are listening to the lyrics--but when it's the happiest song they've put out in almost a decade (and possibly the only happy song luke has ever properly sung lead on) it's such a triumphant story that it exudes and I can't stop thinking about that

Maybe this is a hot take, but I don't care if people trace, reference, copy or repost my art, as long as they credit me properly for anything derivative that they're taking credit for.

*I support young artists' journeys on principle.*

That goes for anyone else, too. Creativity is derivative in nature, but as with anything, ever, it is so, so important that you cite your sources. Now, this doesn't mean encroach on people's boundaries if they have a strict rule against any of these things. But if you ask permission, and give proper credit, you'd be surprised how encouraging some people will be.

Good artists borrow, great artists steal, the best artists give credit.

Ideas for Dimension-Hopping/Traveling OCs

One: Dimension Hoppers don’t need to be humans. Just think about the sheer culture shock different species could have and the struggle in the Multiverse’s corners. So many universes have humans affecting things, or (us) them surviving crazy disasters by a hair! How can a species be this lucky to not go extinct?

Think of how unnerving it might be to see these apes, who live on a planet trying to kill them, be in universes when your species doesn’t exist. At least not anywhere else so far! I imagine it would be especially stressful if drop-points tended to leave them on Earth somewhere. Or different species from universes where humans don’t exist (anymore). Seeing an MLP:FiM Changeling find out what humans are—Hylians finding this race so similair yet different to them (being mistaken for elves). So much potential.

Mobians (Sonic’s World Inhabitants) thinking they are just on the human’s world and trying to find GUN representatives. People either think they are mutated animals or aliens asking for weapons. Them carrying rings with them. ^_^

Two: Dimension Hoppers/Travelers that come from vastly different Earths. I don’t mean “Oh it’s 1987 back home”, I mean, Japangaea from One Punch Man. Can you imagine how blown their mind would be to see places with more than twenty-six cities? People from Attack on Titan seeing humans not hidden by walls. Plus all the different languages most universes might not have. They cannot all speak English. (Japanese, Spanish, French, Chinese, German.)

Worlds like Fallout where there was Nuclear bombing across the world (I think). The cars there have mini-nuclear reactions inside their engines to power them! Plus the radiation, but imagine being from there then going to some-where WITHOUT any sort of mass radiation.

Okay… Coming from a world years behind the next or years ahead to the opposite. They will probably believe that they time traveled to an extent. Only for the past not to add up.

Three: Traveling to a dimension with magic, superheroes/super-powered individuals, or advanced tech. Can you imagine going to a world where magic is the main powersource? I know someone from our world would be amazed and so so so very confused. A mage (witch/wizard/sorcerer) might find themselves overwhelmed. Especially if there own world’s unmagical communities were less developed.

Picture this—you come from a world where superpowers are genetic meaning most people have them. Between you, your friend, and a few people also from there one of you don’t have one. Imagine going to a place where NOBODY has quirks (at least not yet) other people get by just fine without them. Would put into perspective how Quirkless people have less advantages or disadvantages. Most quirks have drawbacks from overusing them in general.

Advanced tech worlds most likely have their own number of problems. The resources are scarce/used up, AIs being so advanced they’re fighting to gain rights, pollution, etc… An OC from someplace that doesn’t have these issues might be an eye opener. Or reminder of simpler times to the advanced folk. Can you imagine being on WALL-E’s trash-filled Earth?

(I might add to this. But I hope it helps give others ideas for any original characters.)
