Hi everyone! I don’t know about you, but settling into all online classes hasn’t been easy. However, I have found a few applications that help me stay on top of my day to day grind that I wanted to share with you all!
1. Session Buddy: If you opeobn a million tabs at once, then this Google Chrome extension is for you. Session Buddy saves your window (and you can rename your session to be more specific like, “English Essay”) and then you can access it and open up all your million tabs later.
2. The Most Dangerous Writing App: This website can be really terrifying at first, but it is life changing. The Most Dangerous Writing App has you set a session length and once you start writing if you stop for a certain period then it’ll erase all your work. It seems really daunting at first, but this app is GREAT to help you stop procrastinating and just write a bad first draft that you can fix later. It’s not great for incorporating research because looking at your sources/notes takes awhile, but it’s great to just get down an initial first draft that you can fix later.
3. Cuckoo: Cuckoo is a great way to virtually do productivity sprints with a group of other people. Just give them your link and people can join your timed session. There are preset options that follow the pomodoro technique, but you can also set your own too.
4. MinimaList: extremely simplified to do list app with a built in focus timer (its minimalist design is very easy on the eyes). This isn’t for complex subtasks, but it allows you to cross off tasks (which is so satisfying). I think its simplicity is great for those who don’t want to spend a lot of time messing with fancy settings for their to do lists.
5. Mindly: an easy mind mapping app that allows you to create and share your mind maps across all devices (as well as easily print them later on!).

🍂 22.10.19 👻 || October Study Challenge,
Do you have an evening routine? What is it / what would it ideally be?
In the evening, if it's not the weekend, I arrange the notes. And That’s it. xD I usually go to bed early so I don’t really have the time. Once upon a time I used to read on my kindle but he died :< The new screen should arrive this week so I hope I can fix it.

A messy desk after planning and writing courswork. Feel like I’m forever planning and reading things and then writing them in less time.
Made a slip up next week and am now working 30 hours alongside uni (thought I had reading week, I did not) so please someone send me good thoughts to manage my work load.
Song choice today: Sundara Karma- Lose the Feeling 🎶
(Side note: bought tickets to see them next month!!)

Hello, World!
I’ll be posting some pictures of my fall semester bullet journal set up soon, but I thought I should introduce myself first😊.
So I’m Emily, and I’m a rising junior at The University of Alabama, majoring in Computer Science and Pure Mathematics with a minor in Cyber Criminology, and I’m in the Honors College.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading (mostly YA fantasy/sci-fi), creative writing, volleyball, and playing with my cat (Tessa aka Bean).
Why Studyblr?
I’ve been working on organizing my life and study schedule over this previous semester, so I want to keep up the momentum by sharing what I’m up to with others who are passionate about this stuff.

• Building a routine!
• For someone as uncommitted as me, it's hard to have one. But I've taken the challenge and, even with days when I fail and feel totally demotivated, I'm getting somewhere.
• Surprisingly enough, I look forward to study Japanese everyday (because I'll advance more than the others muahahah), and reading is a challenge to take things until the end (though I stopped reading since last week even though I was enjoying it AAAA).
• Lately I struggle with feeling like I'm working for nothing, like no one will care about my posts, a dead fandom won't care about something I draw or write, and I end up feeling powerless. Oh, and time goes by so fast, it feels like I'll never catch up. But I can't forget how those "ignored" things make me develop my skills and how a single comment can make me feel so special and recognized for my hard work. On those good moments I remember I don't have to hurry for anything and should be happy with the few people who appreciate what I do. And now I'm motivated thanks to you!
(Ugh, I hate taking pics on my desk, it always gets this warm hue because of the lighting)

Prepping for success in the upcoming semester
Since I started college I have stuck by these 5 things to do before the term starts. Having pre-planned things for the semester can relieve a lot of stress.
1. Plan out your schedule - study times, open labs, classes, office hours these are all things you can learn before the term starts and have a schedule planned out for each week.
2. Clean - clean up your room, your desk, your closet, your laptop, your whatever. Having a mess in your workspace causes anxiety and stress, two things you probably already have plenty of during the term.
3. Relax - you're about to jump back into your intense schedule, so take a few hours to just become a couch potato
4. Find a study group - whether it be a few other students in one of your classes or just a friend to sit at a desk with, it doesn't matter. You just want to be in a group that will keep you on task and can help when needed.
5. Know your classes - read over your syllabus if available online, go online to find some reviews of specific classes or teachers. Going in knowing what's about to happen makes the entire term so much easier to handle.
Everyone is different so these 5 steps that work for me may not work as well for you, but hopefully they can lead you on the right path for success.

🍂 14-15.10.19 👻 || October Study Challenge,
Favourite study method(s)? What works best for you? - I record every lesson: in class I tend to focus more on what the professor is saying and I can’t write it all. So when I go home/study room I divide the sheet in two column: on the left I put all the slides, on the right I write all the things that the professor said in that slide, then I step to the next one and etc. Like this I can have two different sources of information, so I can remember it better. And ofc, re-listening the lesson is a good thing too! - I will print these paper and ofc I will use a lot of highlighters: Green for titles Orange for important things or definitions Blue for examples, graphs Violet for formulas Yellow for minor things - The second phase is the real study: I read my notes out loud, paragraph by paragraph (at home, don’t try this in library!!!) then I repeat with my words what I just read. I don’t want to memorize like it’s a poem, so this must be done in time (and not a week before)
Least favourite study method(s)? - I hate learning by heart. I used this method for YEARS, but by the next day I already forgot everything. This is not working for me anymore in university. Last time I used this method was for an exam that I didn’t understand: professor’s notes were messy, his lessons were messy, everything was messy x.x so I tried to learn my heart the graphs and their variables... and nothing. Thank god he went away and I got a new better professor!

Day 2/100 of productivity || 22-04-19
It’s a problem having a family at home from work, especially when they don’t care if you are studying or not. I wanted to summarize at least 50 pages today from my marketing book. I did only 30. I can’t even underline it because it’s from the library. Ugh.
Now I can finally read THE book for my thesys. (◕ᴗ◕✿ )
