I LOVE Excel! I took an Excel class during University and I've never stopped using or learning about it since. During my summer internship, I would literally use Excel functions and macros for hours every single day. Even if you don't want to be an Excel fanatic, learning a few basic functions will make your life easier (and even impress a few managers along the way!).
I've outlined below some of the most useful Excel functions to learn. Some of these functions are very basic but can make a huge difference. These functions save time, automate procedures, and make your life easier! And if you need some help on how to learn them, I've listed some helpful resources to get you started. With all of us social distancing at home, now is as good of a time as any to add a skill to your resume.
Excel Functions to Know:
SUM: returns sum of cells selected
SUMPRODUCT: multiplies ranges or arrays together and returns the sum of product
IF: return one value for a TRUE result and another for a FALSE result
SUMIF: returns the sum of cells if the cell meets a single condition
AVERAGEIF: computes the average of the numbers in a range that meets a certain criteria
VLOOKUP: lookup and retrieve data from a specific column in a table can be exact or approximate match
LEFT: returns a given number of characters from the left side of text string
RIGHT: returns a given number of characters from the right side of text string
CONCATENATE: joins the text of cells together and returns the joined text in one cell
LENGTH: returns the given number of characters in a text
Resources:
Excel Jet: Very useful as a type of Excel dictionary to look up syntax and specific formulas you don't know
Excel Easy: almost like on online textbook for Excel (great resource for those who have no knowledge of Excel at all!)
Udemy: paid excel course with lots of videos, assignments, and downloadable resources
Coursera: self-paced learning option, quizzes and assignments, and a course certificate
Excel Youtube Course by Technology for Teachers and Students
Datacamp (7/12/20 edit thanks anon for the suggestion!)
Prologue to my Excel series
I'll also be posting Excel tips, tricks, function explanations, and some basic Excel tutorials so if you'd like to see more appear on your dash in the future, follow my blog and look for my Excel series.

A crucial month.
In a month I will have to sit two exams (on the same day, August 29th!) and submit my thesis.
I have deactivated my instagram and my reddit accounts - my two favorite apps.
If I manage to focus, if I manage to do this, I will graduate in October and my admission to my Master’s degree won’t be rescinded. There’s so much at stake.
I want the laurel crown they give to graduate students. I want my best friends reunited, to pop champagne in the university premises and scream at the top of my lungs, hearing once again the sound of traditional silly chants and laughters for graduations and realize it’s mine, it’s for me.
I want to know that I did it and that I did it on time. That I didn’t fall to idleness, and that during August 2019 I truly surprised myself.
Does any of you have similar stories of such crucial moments? What were your motivations, how did you succeed? Reading about it would mean the world to me.

Hi! So in my quest to find the perfect Mandarin Language Printable, I ended up making some printables that were more universal!
I have two (2) row and three (3) row printables for Latinized languages (or other two row needs) and non-Latinized languages (such as Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, etc.) as well as one three row specific for Mandarin/中文.
There are three different pastel colors: blue, yellow, and a light peach/orange color! And if you have any trouble with seeing a color, or want one in grayscale, please shoot me a message!
You can find them all here! [Google Drive Sharable Link.]
And if you use them, please share and tag me in it! I would love to see if these printables are useful for anyone!

pictured: my last weekly spread for October,  This Is Where the World Ends by Amy Zhang, my statistics notes, a cup of coffee and a Starbucks card because there was too much negative space

intro to my studyblr
Hello to anyone reading this!
I am overly excited to start up this study blog and have took time on preparing it. I can’t wait to join the community and do amazing things academically and socially in school and outside of school.
Now without further ado, here it goes! :
Personal infos:
My name is Alexa and I live in the US.
I am currently about to turn 15.
I’m a girl.
I go to church :)
I’m in my freshman year of high school (9th grader).
I am typically a A and sometimes B student.
I believe in respect for everyone even if you don’t agree with their point of view.
I love rock/alternative bands!!! My favs are panic! at the disco and a Japanese rock band called the oral cigarettes
I love anime and manga. I typically love the romance and shoujo genre but I like shonen too.
I’ve been currently watching dramas ( this was so unexpected ).
My family is from Peru so I loveeee Peruvian food and culture.
I’m bilingual! (English and Spanish). Currently learning Italian actually.
I loveee cats. I have a dog and a gerbil.
Academics:
I’m in the IB program (aka tons of assignments… especially during senior year T_T )
I am currently taking:
Algebra 2
IB inquiry skills (just talk about study+management skills and current events)
AP World History
Chemistry

English
Creative Writing
I love writing and want to become a writer or journalist.
My weakness is science so I detest science classes in general (expect environmental or ecology)
I unfortunately got a D in chemistry (the ONLY CLASS) and have felt bad and depressed. However, I’m not letting that drag me down and will continue to strive for the best.
I’m in the IB advisory board and Salsa Club.
Well that pretty much sums it up. Thanks for reading!
With this blog, I hope to become a more productive and time-managing student. I hope to learn from the community and can’t wait to start posting!!!

100 Days of Productivity - Biblioteca Marucelliana, Florence.
This library dates back to 1752. It is also referred as “the most ancient democratic library”, as it was the first of its kind to open its doors even to the deprived sectors of society. On its façade you can read the Latin sentence: “MARVCELLORVM BIBLIOTECA PUBLICÆ MAXIME PAVPERVM VTILITATI”, which stands for “The library of the Marucellis, for the public use, mostly for the poor”.
I decided to complement these pictures with a quote by Vittorio Alfieri, an Italian author that was born three years prior to the establishment of Biblioteca Marucelliana. “Volli, e volli sempre, e fortissimamente volli” means “And I willed, and always willed, and passionately willed”: the author referred to the time he would chain himself to the chair in order to study, and even shaved half of his hair off in order to look ridiculous and thus avoid leaving home altogether. Of course, that’s far from being considerate towards your own well-being: still, the fortissimamente volli of Alfieri is a mantra that can remind you how far strength of purpose can take you.

also: my stabilo point 88 and pen 68 set arranged by art number because I had time to kill and it was relaxing

hey guys!
I thought this study method might help some people (the information below isn’t mine by the way, I got it from my teacher). To put it in simple terms, mnemonics are memory devices to help recall previous information. There are lots of types that you can create and use so studying can be easier or fun:
Music Mnemonics: make a song or jingle for a list of items (ex. ABC song, Schoolhouse Rock)
Name Mnemonics: use the first letter of each word to create a name of a person or thing (ex. ROY G. BIV)
Expression/ Word Mnemonics: the first letter of each item on a list in order to create a word or saying (ex. FANBOYS stands for: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so)
Model Mnemonics: some type of construction or model to help with understanding or recalling information (ex. diagrams, family trees, pyramids)
Ode/ Rhyme Mnemonics: puts information in a poem or rhyme (ex. 30 days hath September, April, June, and November)
Image Mnemonics: somewhat similar to model mnemonics, information constructed in the form of picture or doodle
Connection Mnemonics: the information to be remembered is connected to something already known (ex. Longitude has an N in it for North, therefore it runs North to South and Latitude doesn’t have an N)
Spelling Mnemonics: the principal is your pal.
