MER-LOVE, 1.1 ft. reo, isagi, bachira, chigiri, nagi

REQUEST: “Hi hi!! I decided to take you up on your offer and request a part two to the Mer-love fic. This time can you add in reo and what would they do if researcher!reader brought someone along with them, like a co-worker and they think it’s reader’s partner?”

NOTES: jealousy hcs are always fun to write, thanks for requesting!! also to the people not interested in this au, don’t worry i’ll be posting other stuff soon anyway. i just want to get people’s requests finished & completed before i start writing my own ideas again <3

on occasion, you see REO coming to drag nagi off your boat if he overstays his welcome there, or if he thinks the lazy bastard needs a swim break before he dries out in the sun. you don’t mind him, he’s very polite and as a first impression; you would say he’s a solid guy. the type you can rely on.

the merman initially presents himself as the epitome of confidence and elegance, but as you get to know him better, his playful and more down-to-earth nature shines through. while there’s not necessarily a huge gap between the two, he definitely felt like he was trying to keep up appearances as the former personality. you suppose it’s a good thing he came out of his shell, because he visits you a lot nowadays! sometimes, you think even a bit too often. he usually comes with a multitude of gifts in his arms: stuff like pearls and any other valuable treasures from the ocean depths, etc.

like isagi, he willingly engages in conversation and shows a genuine interest in your research (particularly the financial aspects…) so that’s definitely a plus. it’s very sweet of him regardless, so being a charmer must just be part of his personality.

as the days pass, your boat becomes a second home for not just one, but two mermen—reo and the ever-present nagi, albeit with varying levels of enthusiasm for most things. their banter is oddly nostalgic, it’s like your back at the lab, chatting with the colleagues who don’t piss you off (it gets a bit lonely without the mermaids to talk to).

unbeknownst to you however, during those quiet moments when nagi drifts off to sleep and the conversation wanes, reo's attention shifts to you. as he observes your funny mannerisms and habits, he can't help but find them endearing. from your animated hand gestures, to the way you absentmindedly twirl a strand of hair, every detail captures his attention and leaves him quite captivated.

all in all, reo’s quite the sweetheart once you’re closer to him! let’s hope it’ll last.

i imagine that you’d bring someone who you’d trust to keep this a secret from the higher ups, as well as a close friend of yours. so, what you consider innocent gestures like leaning over their shoulder, sitting together while eating, look quite misleading from a mermaid’s perspective. (especially if their love language was physical touch/in mermaid society or whatever, you’re only doing those types of things with your lover…)

REO would be mortified at the sight of them. who is this person? why the hell did they come along with you? why are you talking to them?? please (and i stress this) don’t tease him by saying, “oh, haha, they’re my s/o” as a joke, he would actually rather die. unlike the others, he seems openly irritated with your friend’s presence and isn’t scared to voice it. to the point your colleague is like ‘wtf did you tell this guy about me’.

ISAGI is the most ‘normal’, rationalising that they’re probably just a coworker that you know. he’d only get antsy if your partner decides to get a little too close to you. even as chill and unassuming as he may be, isagi’s still got a pretty nasty ego on him. may or may not curse your coworker’s entire generation for the rest of eternity.

BACHIRA would be friendly at first, acting all smiles and being his usual chatty self. but if your coworker decides to try anything the merman deems too…unprofessional, they’ve got another thing coming for them. he’ll snap at their fingers, or tear them off. jk, but he wouldn’t be thrilled by it for sure. kinda just sits on a rock, lost in his own thoughts for a while.

CHIGIRI would pretend not to care at first, but it’s obvious by the glares he throws their way and the way his sarcasm seems to triple when talking to them that he doesn’t like them. seriously, why this person? he simply tries to get your attention on him at first, until that doesn’t work and he decides to ‘accidentally’ chuck water onto their face.

NAGI couldn’t care less at first, key word: at first. but then you’re paying them more attention that you do him and his brain subconsciously makes up excuses to why he doesn’t like them, granted some of these could be plausible but others are just straight up mean. their voice is so grating he can’t sleep, their figure is blocking the sunlight shining on him, among other things. get them off your boat. now >:(

Ectoberweek 2023 Day 29: Masquerade

SPOILER FOR A GLITCH IN TIME!

I recently rewatched the endings of the anime "Durarara!!" and I was thinking that so many versions of Danny popped up throughout the years, it is time for a Danno-tower.

I limited myself to 15 versions and a few other AUs sprinkled here and there because 1) this artwork is already long enough and 2) there are so many AUs and different designs I would need much more time to draw them all.

Summary: Hiking was just an activity to get you out of the apartment, the last thing you imagined was ending in a whole different world by touching a jewel. That not being enough you end up meeting seven hybrids, and they all claim you shared the Connection with each of them making you their partner for life.

This is the first part of the 200 followers celebration, the fifth chapter of this story; the second part is a one shot from my masterlist, I already have one in mind that I hope you'll like it. With Taehyung at work and full from breakfast, you and Jiwoo explore the apartment and now you know it's way bigger than you imagine it; which makes you think that here getting a place to live is cheaper than in your world or Taehyung makes a lot of money What can be his job? I mean it definitely allows him to live quite well. You find out there are four rooms, the main one (the one you basically throw him out of), two guest rooms (with a bathroom each) and a huge library; aside from a big kitchen, the dining room, a grand living room and a laundry room. "Wow you're boyfriend lives quite good N/N" "He's not my boyfriend!" "Yet" Jiwoo chuckles at your bright face "But I do wonder what his job is" "Or the real state here is better than ours" Jiwoo adds.

Checking exploring the apartment on your list, you guys go back to the main room to take a shower "Hey Ji, can you help me unwrap this? So I can take a shower" "Sure" she sits down on the bed next to your ankle and starts taking off the bandage. With the bandage off, she goes to the drawer your clothes are in and takes the only stuff you have left "Well, we should use that washing machine we found otherwise we won't have anything to wear" Jiwoo says, taking out her clothes, and you nod at her words. Before going to get you, she puts your clothes on top of, what she thinks is, a shelf to organize your clothes to put them on after a shower or a bath Damn this is rich people type of stuff; and takes out a towel from a drawer in front of the sink.

"Let's go" Jiwoo exits the bathroom and helps you up, to hop to the bathroom; once inside you take oof your clothes, relive yourself on the toilet and enter the shower It would be nice to take a bath but I don't want to impose more than I already have. I'm sorry Taehyung I'm using your stuff again you think when you pick up a bottle of shampoo and start massaging your scalp, rinsing it out, you pick up a gel shower bottle and start spreading it on your body, but by doing that your thoughts go to the fact that you're in the same place where Taehyung's been naked just like you're now No no no no F/N don't think stuff like that, you're taking advantage of his kindness by thinking that you cover your red face with your face, and rinse all soap as fast as you can, with cold water.

With your feet really dry, to prevent more sprained ankles, you hop to where your clothes are and hop again towards the toilet to sit and dress yourself like you undressed the night before, sited. Already dressed, you hop to the sink and wash your face with Taehyung's face soap, rinse it and apply his moisturizer. You open the door and Jiwoo's waiting for you at the end of the bed to help you hop to the bed. She sit next to you to help you bandage your walk but you say with a smile "Jiwoo go wash yourself up, I got this" "Are you sure?" "Yeah, go" you point with your head towards the bathroom "Okay". By yourself, you apply the ointment and try to wrap up your ankle, it's not as good as how the doctor did but it's tight That's the important thing right? For the bandage to be tight no matter how it's wrapped up.

A few minutes later, Jiwoo's done with showering and asks, "Well, what we do now? There's nothing to eat, and there's nothing to do" "Well, we can't go out. We don't have keys, we don't know this city. As for food, we'll just have to wait until he comes back. He must have a TV somewhere, and we have to wash our clothes and the dishes from breakfast. " You two exit the room with your clothes on hand "Okay. I'll leave you at the laundry room and I'll go to wash the dishes" Jiwoo says "Deal" and you hop to the laundry room.

Jiwoo leaves you, and now you're in front of two very advanced machines Okay, I can do this, if I cracked the old washing machine at our place I can figure this ones out. You read what it says on the buttons, and look around in hopes to find a manual, which luckily you do Oh well, it's definitely easier than ours you also spot a laundry basket kinda full I should also wash his clothes, as a thank you for all the troubles you smile when picking out his clothes and putting them inside, by doing it you smell something delicious, curious by the source of the smell you bring a t-shirt to your nose it smells like white chocolate Maybe he ate something covered in white chocolate and the shirt got impregnated with the smell leaving it at that you finish with the clothes and start the machine, the cycle spends an hour washing the clothes.

Knowing it would be better to wait for Jiwoo you sit on the floor, trying not to put pressure on your ankle. After another 10 minutes Jiwoo makes an appearance "Ooohhh, you made it work" "Yeah, Taehyung left the manual handy and it was very easy, at least easier than the one at home" you chuckle "That darn thing" she grumbles "How about I leave you at the living room and when this is done I come and pass the clothes to the dryer" "I'm gonna take the offer for the lift but I want to finish the entire chore, otherwise I'll die from boredom" you pout at her "Okay" she chuckles.

Hopping to the living you still don't see anything to entertain yourselves with, not even a TV "Does he not have a TV here? Are there no TVs in this world?" Jiwoo asks scared "I don't think there aren't any TVs here I mean our worlds are pretty identical so maybe he doesn't have one because he doesn't like it" you conclude. Sitting on the couch looking at ceiling, an idea popped on your mind "Can you help me get to the library? Maybe I can find an interesting book there" "Okay, let's go", you support one of your arms around her shoulder and her towards said room.

Inside, you find a comfortable egg chair next to a large window with a beautiful city view and a big comfortable sofa which Jiwoo has already eyes on it. She plops down on the sofa "Don't you want a book?" you ask her "No, I think I'll just let dreamland call me" "Okay" you answer looking through the shelves Maybe we do have things in common, he has rows and rows of fantasy and sci-fi books you smile passing your fingers through the books' spines Apparently he also likes photography maybe it's a hobby of his you think when you see a few books on that subject.

With a book on hand, you sit on the egg chair and start reading. You're so engrossed in the story you almost didn't hear an alarm going off Wow the hour is already up you turn the chair to look at Jiwoo, but find her asleep so soundly she's snoring a little bit. Not wanting to wake her up you decide to hop by yourself to the laundry room. You support yourself with the hall walls, and hop by hop you get to your destination. Pulling out you girl's clothes and his clothes from the washing machine, without paying much attention at the white chocolate smell, you put them inside the dryer, you read the labels on it and a some information from the manual and turn it on Okay another two hours of waiting you think, leaving everything set you hop back to the library.

Inside the library, you see Jiwoo still sleeping and hop back to the comfy chair you were in. The book in your hands has you really engrossed This book is really good, I mean for obvious reasons I've never heard about the author nor the plot, but if this is a series and it's not finished and I leave miraculously back to my world I'll cry you almost hug the book from your thoughts. You keep on reading until that faint alarm is on again. Knowing is from the dryer you get up, hop to see Jiwoo This girl is sleeping way too much…or maybe she's faking it you touch her shoulder with tiny force but that only makes her turn around and wave her hand at you She's so cute you chuckle. Hopping to the library you see a watch on the wall Wow it's almost noon, I'm gonna feel hunger in any moment you pout but continue hoping to the laundry room.

You take out all the clothes and put them in a basket labeled "Clean" with coffee dots around the letters Cute you smile at the mental image of a Taehyung labeling baskets. With basket in hand, you decide it's way too far for you to hop to the library, besides your foot's been hurting a little bit from all the hopping around, so you settle for the living room. You sit on the biggest sofa, from the three available, and pull the table on the center towards you so you could have a place to elevate your foot, already settled you start folding the clothes and putting them in piles next to you on the sofa Ignore Taehyung's underwear, just ignore it, just like you've been ignoring the white chocolate smell all morning. Folding the last shirt you hear ruckus on the door and suddenly a Taehyung filled with bags comes into view once the door is open "I'm home".

"OMG Taehyung, let me help you" you try to rush, but accidentally you stand up with both feet and winced Well if it wasn't hurting before now it definitely is and quickly sit down again. Taehyung watching this closes the door as fast as he can, and runs to you leaving the bags in the sofa next to where you are, and one in particular he leaves it on top of the table "Beautiful you can't do that, you'll hurt your ankle more" he crouches next to you, only the point of his tail moving slowly "Did Jiwoo bandage you? Because it got loose" he looks up at you, with those big brown eyes of him leaving you breathless for a moment, and starts wrapping your foot "Mmm, no, I did it myself…I swear it was tight but with all the hopping I guess it got loose" you say with red ears feeling a little embarrassed, about the bandage but also about your reaction at him. Then he notices the folded clothes next to you "Did you do the laundry?" "Yeah" you smile at him "Why didn't Jiwoo do it? You know you can't move much" your smile faded "Well, she did the dishes and she was gonna do the laundry but I told her not to because we couldn't find something to entertain ourselves with and I didn't want to feel useless " he finishes bandaging you, but you continue "So I washed the clothes while she washed the dishes and the hopped to the library, because we reckoned your apartment…it's really nice" he smiles at you at that, however you continue "And while the clothes were washing I picked one of your books and started reading, by the way I'm sorry that I've been using your stuff without asking for your permission like your shampoo, body wash, face soap, moisturizer, cooking utensils and now your books" you looked at your hands ashamed, Taehyung almost coos at this and brings his hand to your face, grabs softly your chin and lifts it up "But Beautiful…Well, first, I have a TV is right there" he points at a blank space "You just have to lift it up" you look at him confused, he chuckles "I'll show you later. Second, you're not useless you're hurt, once you're on top shape you can do anything you want" he gives you a boxy smile "And third, you can use anything you want, everything I have here is yours too" you light up like Christmas tree after he says that.

"Let's go eat now, I bet you're hungry" as soon as he says that your stomach rumbles and he laughs "I guess I'm getting to know you better, at least your eating habit" "Shut up" you mumble dreading the embarrassment you're feeling right now. He picks you up bridal style making yell a little bit "H-h-hey I can hop to the kitchen" "Nu-uh, while I'm here you won't be doing that" he sits you down in a stool and exits the kitchen. Now that he's not next to you, you feel how the white chocolate smell has increased since he got home Does it come from him? But I didn't smell this yesterday…ugh, I don't understand and even if I don't want to ask him because this makes me feel like a crazy person, he maybe knows what and why is happening.

He comes back with the bag he left at the table in the living room, and puts it on the island "Where's Jiwoo?" "She's sleeping in the library" "I'll bring her" he turns "Mmm…Taehyung?" "Yes Beautiful?" he faces you again "Can I take out what's inside the bag?" you look at him with bright hopeful eyes "Sure" he chuckles. You open the bag and take out three smaller bags, you open them and take out from each a plate with what looks like lasagna, tiny bags with bread and three bottles with what looks like the soda Taehyung gave you yesterday. You wait sited moving the leg, with the good foot, like a little kid; Taehyung watches this, walking towards you with Jiwoo beside him, and falls for you even more.

Inside the kitchen, Jiwoo sits next to you, rubbing her eyes, and Taehyung, with a pout, sits in front of you "This is one has meat, this one has chicken and this one has meat again but has extra cheese in it" he explains each plate "Can I have the cheesy one?" you ask excitedly "Sure" he takes off the wrap and passes it to you with a fork, he also opens the soda for you "Thank you" you give him a tiny smile, you've read enough romantic books to know these kind of gestures are when the person has a romantic interest in other "I'll take the one with chicken, Taehyung" Jiwoo says "Sure" he passes her the plate, the bottle and the fork. The both take off the wrap from the plate, and all three of you start eating "Wow, this lasagna is so good" you say "Yes, I'll even say it's better than yours" Jiwoo slightly punches you, joking with you "Do you know how to make lasagna Beautiful?" "Yes, sometimes" you smile at him "Then I can't to try it" he smiles at you. You're eating in silence when something pops in your mind "Taehyung, do you work nearby? I mean otherwise how can you be eating lunch with us" "I left early" he answers with mouth half full "Oh, are you sick?" you say worriedly "No? I feel fine" he answers with his head tilted to the side and animal ears standing up "Then if you're not sick how did you get permission?" Jiwoo adds "I just didn't want to be without for too long" he answers so truthfully, you can see it in his eyes, that you almost choke up with what was in your mouth "What is your job?" you finally ask, after drinking a sip of soda "I'm a model" you open your eyes as much as you can when the leopard reveals this "You're a m-mo-model?" you can't believe it, Jiwoo chuckles at this "I knew, someone as handsome as you can't have a desk job" "What kind of modeling you do?" you ask him softly "Mostly photography, sometimes runways" he answers like he's talking about the weather Well, he does it for a living so he must be comfortable talking about it "I had more shoots after the one in the morning but I told my manager to cancel the ones in the afternoon so I could be here with you" he answers before you can make the question "Are you famous? I mean you have a very nice apartment, not to mention big" Jiwoo asks "Maybe? I mean some people think I'm famous" he touches his neck in embarrassment.

You're in shock at what this man does for a living so you just keep eating the lasagna until there is nothing more to eat, not even the bread "Are you okay Beautiful? You stop talking" Taehyung asks, he's nervous because you haven't said anything since he said he's a model Does she not like it? Because I can quit and find another job more to her liking "Do you not like my job? Because I can quit and find something you like" he quickly voices his thoughts "What?!" you almost scream "You can't quit because of me…It's just that I know you're handsome" "You think I'm handsome" he smiles sheepishly, but you don't hear him because you continue your rant "Bu-but I never thought you would be a model and I'm just surprised that's all…Besides you said like we're destined or something and I'm definitely way too normal to be with someone like you" you close your mouth with your hand to stop you from saying anything else, surprised at what you just said "Are you accepting me?" he says with a big smile "I don't know" you answer truthfully "Ohh" he mumbles, a sad expression makes its way to his face, his animal ears also lose their perkiness But she said it, maybe she's just scared of accepting her feelings, I can wait for her. Jiwoo knows she has to intervene now "Uh, Taehyung, what are those bags outside?" "Let's go see what I brought you" he stands up and goes for you to lift you up "Don't say anything Beautiful, I'm not letting you hop" he says seeing how you're about to protest, so you just shut your open mouth.

He leaves you on the couch in the most possible delicate way, and sits down next to you. To leave the two love birds together, Jiwoo sits in the other couch. The first thing he takes out of one of the bags is two boxes "First, I bought the groceries so" he turns to Jiwoo "Jiwoo, can you help me accommodate them" "Sure" she answers "Now, this one is for you Beautiful" he gives you one of the boxes and you notice is a phone "and this one is for you Jiwoo" he gives her the other box "Taehyung, you shouldn't have" you gasp "Of course I had to, besides I wanted to" he smiles at you "Please open it" you do as he says, and gasp once again "It's pink, look Ji it's pink!" you show her "Mine is white" she now shows you her new phone "It already has the most important apps, and it also has my phone number" you notice he put himself in as "Tae " Cute, does he want me to call him like that? I'll have to ask Jiwoo what's his name in her phone…What if I'm imagining things and it's not something special. "I also bought you clothes, it's just a few we can go in a few days again when you're ankle is better" he looks at you, and you nod at him. "Thank you so much Taehyung, you didn't have to" you impulsively hug him, he's shocked but gets out of it fast to return the embrace Wow, hugging her like this I can smell the white chocolate even more he closes his eyes and inhales more, after a while you let each other go at the same time, and smile at each other for a few seconds He's so handsome She's so beautiful.

Jiwoo interrupts the moment to talk about something more serious than groceries, clothes o phones "Taehyung" he looks at her "he have to talk about something" he frowns but doesn't say anything "I think you've noticed how we know almost nothing about, hybrids or technology. It's not because he have amnesia or something like that" At first I did think that, but I guess it's something more he thinks "It's because we're not from this world" he open his eyes, absorbing the new information "But before we explain that to you, we would like to know about your world first and how hybrids came to be" you look at him nodding "Can you tell us, please?".

so . ok here goes nothing. first things first.

this is like the “fisherman meets mermaid and they are in love” AU trope but jamil isnt a fisherman: he pretty much retained his canon life, aka he is a servant and one day he found a merman and he just hangs around him to escape from his shitty life situation (and the merman is completey enamoured).

so, apart of NRC not happening, more details about the canon divergence should be revealed at a later date

thiat is the info about the au out of the way. ill just do personal rambling here esp bevause im insecure about some things about this so you can stop reading if you want.

this is a trope ive seen around a lot, especially on twitter, so ive had this idea since a bunch of months ago. i then proceeded to forget about it until i saw a twitter post about this same exact trope again except it was with fucking miguel o’hara but thats besides the point. the original post that made me get the idea were 2 ocs (they had the blood-cut-to-call-merman idea. I completely stole it from that. im coming clean) and i was like “wow do you know who else is a mermaid? azul fucking ashengrotto”

ok so no the art style i used. i started using it really recently to doodle stuff, since 2 days ago actually im so serious. i tried using it here as well bevause its an easy art style, really quick to draw with it and also looks good. or so i thought. because im now having doubts about wether it looks good or not and i fear it might just look weird. i kinda wanna hear if people prefer this art style or my “actual” one from my other posts

this style looked way better when i used it to doodle stuff, but i dont think im capable of using it in comic format. the style i was going for is mostly evident in the colored “poster” because ive actually redrawn the comic sequence a bunch of times so the style was lost there. I do like how the “poster” looks but im not sure if y’all would agree so id love to hear wyt

now the biggest part. ive never made comics in my life!! so these are going to look so damn akward. u can already notice it here!!!!! crowd starts booing

also i cant draw water and also i dont know how to draw azuls octo patterns bc the material we have of his design are so vague and fragmented but his patterns are not easy to draw so im struggling and i need to make a reference of him for myself 😭😭

heurhgh. thinkin abt the prince and the sea witch AU because i am an ocean boy and and and theres so much to thinkabout with this one!!!! i love aus that tap into classic fairytales becasue theres so much to work with!!! connections to make and parallels to draw

context and thoughts under tha cut cus this au sorta escaped me at first and there's very little stuff about it in english

the original au came from a leaflet that was bundled with volume 8 on toranoana:

rough translation explains that mermaid princess hinaichi rescued prince ronaldo, and sea witch draluc offers to give her legs to meet him again (and if he doesn't like her she'll turn into seafoam) which she declines. (literally what she says is "no need!" and the big words to the side of her say "no regrets" which is hilarious.) thats the end of the story and ronaldo is left alone. also, john is a sea turtle that lives in a clam.

im lifting my own headcanons and such from the original little mermaid story (not so much the didney one) where the prince doesn't see the mermaid and instead falls in love with this woman who comes to help him from a nearby temple (who he doesn't realize is actually the princess he's betrothed to later.) in this au that's draluc who was observing from a distance. (i just drew a half sunken agora and im calling that a temple. watever. its refd from one of the old arts and i think its pretty)

i like the idea that ronaldo exaggerates his own memory of spotting draluc that day due to the distance making details difficult paired with the fact that he was probably a little delirious. the idea that he doesn't immediately put together that draluc is the person he saw is kinda fun 2 me, and of course he'd make up some beautiful girl in his head. of course he would.

im messing with some ideas about draluc deciding to meddle with ronaldo instead - does he offer to turn him into a merman to look for his made up maiden? or does draluc come to land for his own reasons? maybe they visit each other at the temple every day and bring each other little things and talk and stuff. itd be cute if they butted heads but still went to see each other every day anyways.

a popular thing in the au is draluc being captured - maybe ronaldo, desparate to find his love and only knowing she was some sort of fish, does something stupid like setting up nets and traps. hahah. maybe he catches draluc and takes him to his castle to learn about merfolk and such. iunno. whatever the case i hope they fall in love in the process and also bicker a lot like their usual schtick

ive got a little sad idea that borrows from some 30 years later au stuff where draluc is worried about ronaldo's lifespan (this is also in the orig little mermaid where mermaids live longer than humans by hundreds of years) but also can't turn human to match ronaldo because it's too painful for him to walk on legs (since one of the au rules is that he must always be weak and the orig little mermaid made it clear that legs hurted real bad)

also also i very big headcanon draluc the sea witch has a sunken castle that looks a lot like ponyo's dad's house on the inside. fulla potions and stuff. wouldnt that be cute! maybe hes got an interest in human life/a collection of old things kinda like didney little mermaid - since canon draluc is so well adjusted to modern human stuff like games and livestreams and whatnot. in this au i think he'd be a lot more stubborn and reluctant to admit it, though, cus i also like the idea that his grandpa went the route of loving a human and going to land and maybe he doesn't want to end up like that? but it might be fate just cus draluc and ronaldo parallel D and helsing so well.

also i still want hinaichi to be in it but her rejection of the plot is so funny and good, i don't want to shove her in without thinking of a good way for it to make sense. she's good friends with draluc and likes his cooking...can you cook underwater??? maybe magically?? maybe draluc takes up cooking on land and brings hinaichi things he makes??? maybe then she gets interested in humans and wants to come to land to try all the cooking theyve got. iunno.

i usually keep this sort of note taking and doodling to myself but this fandom needs all the stimulation it can get. hiii hellooo :]

Bound and gagged you struggle atop a mound of treasure stashed upon the ship's creaking wooden floors. The pirate crew surrounded you from all sides and cackled at your predicament as a captive.

The golden coins had been plundered from the merchant ship you had been traveling on and now you were part of the booty on the pirate ship you were now stuck on.

To be split among the crew you thought with a shiver as fear and adrenaline from a fight or flight urge jolted down your spine

“Quiet. Crew!” Commanded Captain! Blade. A hush falls upon the crew as heavy footfalls announce the presence of Captain! Blade bedecked in a red and dark navy blue military coat over white pants.

He’s handsome you think with surprise at his fine features among such a motley lot before you shake yourself with the thought but he is still a pirate that made my ship sink…

What they would do with you next?. You are forced to stand by two crew members. You fight helplessly wrenching free for a moment but bump into the tall captain blade who has the way blocked. Not like there is anywhere to escape on a pirate ship out at sea.

He stops you with his sword tipping your chin up with his sword. You notice looking up at him that he also had on a high-brimmed black captain hat with a red plume and an eyepatch on one eye.

“Stop squirming on the ship, or I’ll make you walk the plank” Pirate captain! Blade growls as he pulls you back by your hair. Your head arched back to expose your throat in a threat with his blade kissing your neck as you kneel bound on the ship's wooden floor.

“ Or shall I be forced to discipline you another way?” he whispered in your ear. Tipping your face to meet his blaring red and gold eyes.

“ Crew, split up the rest of the booty this one though is my own” Said Captain! Blade sees something he likes in the fire reflected in your own eye. He harumphs ignoring your muffled protests before he drags you bound and stumbling off. Then decieded your struggle are too much trouble and hoists you up before slinging you over his shoulder then kicks open the captain's office cabin door and closes the door.

Inside, he throws you on the desk trinkets tumbling off his desk, and has his dirty way with you ~

Because if you do, I had this probably kind of wacky idea for a levi x reader, merfolk au. like, levi is a merman and reader is a human and he is immediately interested in reader but doesn't know a thing about human customs so he just does it the merfolk way, for example courting rituals and that his kind are a lot more touchy with each other. She also is the first human he ever had a closer relationship with and he is fascinated by her human features.

Thought this might be sweet but if you've got too much on your mind/calendar right now I completely understand.

You meet Levi when he swims up to your home and says that he lives in a home under the water near your home. Levi had you on the mind and in his heart. You'd come to the island he lived around about two weeks ago. He introduced himself because you were his neighbour, but he was so taken by you he just wanted to have you as his and his alone. He wasn't sure how to romance a human, so he did what he knew which was to court you as if you were a mermaid.

Levi swam up to the surface and saw you sleeping in the shade on the decking of your home. He moved closer and leaned on the decking and gazed at your sleeping face. He reached over with his webbed hand, his skin glistening in the light as if he was a pearl. He rubbed your cheek and marvelled at how soft and warm you were.

You opened your eyes and blushed when you saw Levi's fin ear wiggle a little. You adored his pearl skin with little scales around the edges of his face, the delicate gills on his neck and his pink kissable lips. His raven hair was wet and swept back allowing you to see his handsome features. You moaned a little at his muscles.

He pulled back and smiled at you. "You're awake."

You rubbed your eyes as you sighed. "I am. Can I get you a tea or something?" You sat up and hummed. "Or maybe a set of clothes for your human form?"

"Both?" He gasped. "But first I have something for you." He took his side bag off and placed it on the decking. He moved a few things around and pulled out a crown he'd made with shells, pearls and a few gems. "Here."

You took it from him and admired it. "This is so beautiful." You placed it on your head and giggled. "I'm a princess!"

Levi blushed hard because you accepted and wore his gift, meaning you were interested in him. "Ah...umm...you accept my gift?"

"I do!"

He smiled a little. "You...like me?"

You stared at him. "Do you mean in romantic way or friendship?"

"Romantic."

You leaned closer and kissed his cheek. "Well, I like you a lot."

He gasped in delight. "So, you accepting this crown means you accept my courting!"

You clutched your chest as your heart raced. "Yes."

He smiled sweetly at you as his fin ears wiggled. "Perfect! I have more for you." He rummaged in his bag and pulled out a ring with a pearl on it. "I found the one closet to your beauty, but that was hard because you're more beautiful than a sunset within the ocean and the small green flash."

You felt pleasure shoot through you. "Levi..."

He took your hands in his. "I want you to be my forever, my special pearl, my green flash, my mate."

You squeezed his hands. "I want that too."

Levi backflipped into the water in delight. He grabbed you and pulled you into the water with him. "You are magical! I have so many things for you."

"I want to get you things."

He nuzzled his nose against yours. "You are so sweet and perfect."

You kissed Levi making him flinch. "Oh, sorry was that too much?"

He blushed hard. "N-No...I liked it...your lips are so...warm..." He yanked you against his body. "More."

You kissed Levi again and hummed in happiness. You pulled back and swam to the decking. "I'll get us some tea." You wrung out your wet shirt as Levi got out of the water behind you with his tail shining in the light. "Do you want something to eat?" You turned around. "Levi?"

He smiled as he stood naked before you in his human form. "I would like food made by you. I always like your food."

You blushed bright red before looking away. "Le-Levi."

He walked closer. "Something wrong?"

"You're naked. Where is the towel I normally leave out for you?" You grabbed it and handed it over to him. "I'll go get the drinks!"

Levi watched you run off as he wrapped the towel around him. He picked up his bag and hurried after you and into the home. He wanted to court you more and started laying out pretty stones around the living room. He smiled at the work he did and hoped you liked it all.

You walked out of the kitchen with a tray and spotted the stones. "Oh, look at that! They're so pretty."

"You like them?"

You nodded. "Of course! Are these part of the courting?"

"Yes." He waited for you to put the tray down before he held your hands. "I just adore you. This is our nest."

You hummed a laugh. "It's perfect. So, what must we do next for the courting?"

"Cuddle, kiss and hold each other. I also..." He shifted on his feet. "I must mark you."

You stared at his canines, they were sharp for him to eat fish as merpeople ate a lot of it and the four slightly sharp teeth at the top helped. "So, you bite me?"

"Yes."

You moved closer to him and purred. "I would love that."

Levi let out a delighted pur as his ears wiggled a little. "Mate."

Merman Zenitsu and pufferfish Chuntaro!

I was backing up some files earlier, and stumbled across this dumb AU doodle from a few years ago. Seemed appropriate to colour it with watercolours!

Cute little Chuntaro is a prickly pufferfish in this AU... but that raises the question: what marine species would the rest of the corps use to communicate underwater?

Swordfish are extremely fast swimmers, have convenient weapons/ letter clips stuck to their faces, excellent eyesight, are highly migratory loners with a massive range, and... ugh, fine. They're the obvious choice, aren't they?

Most members of the seaman slayer corps use swordfish.

Further fishy ideas beneath the cut:

Tanjirou:

My first instinct is to say sunfish, but the mental image of one of those massive creatures drifting menacingly behind him at all times is just too ridiculous.

And yet... somehow it makes perfect sense? A gentle giant that acts like a shield, patiently sheltering his sister from the sun whenever they travel near the surface.

Shinobu/ Kanao/Kanae: Butterfly fish, of course! All with polite and graceful personalities.

Shinobu fights using a variety of marine animal venoms including stonefish. Stonefish stings are treated with the applicaton of heat to denature proteins in the venom... so if Douma's an ice guy in this AU too, he's in for a rough time.

Inosuke: Briefly had a cute little pigfish, but he ate it within a day. Now he just has a regular corps- assigned swordfish. They're also tasty, apparently... if only he could catch it!

Tengen: Really wanted a Fireworks fish/ some other absurdly flamboyant tropical fish. Instead, he was assigned a bland- looking, tiny little fish that's well- suited to stealth missions.

It's been thoroughly ✨bedazzled✨by now and loves him. The most popular family member by far. Very plump and spoilt.

Gyomei: Green humphead parrotfish. These guys are massive, pretty docile, and spend most of their time crunching through rock- hard coral with big teeth to scrape off yummy algae, pooping out the rest as sand. They are cleaners that are instrumental in maintaining the health of coral reef ecosystems.

Gyomei's parrotfish is no exception; however, it used to be an insatiable glutton, to the point of destroying the coral reef it once resided in and being ostracised by its peers as a result. Wracked with guilt and with nowhere else to go, it received an invitation to serve in the corps. Its new master helped it learn self control.

Rengoku: There's no shortage of bold, flame- coloured fish species out there... but I reckon this guy just has the same generic swordfish species assigned to the rest of the corps. The only difference being that his used to be his father's loyal companion, and it's aged a bit, so it's not as speedy as it once was. It should've retired years ago, but refuses to abandon its self- imposed duty of keeping its master's son on the right path.

Was a rebellious playboy in its youth. Now it's a straight- laced military type, follows corps rules to the letter. Doesn't trust that slimy sea slug Nezuko one bit.

Sanemi: SAILFISH, hands down. Aggressive, vaguely wind- themed predator, and the fastest swimmer in the ocean. Both of them are pretty smug about that last point.

Genya: An archerfish would make sense thematically... but again, Genya just seems like another corps- assigned swordfish kinda guy to me? He definitely has a pet snapping turtle though. It's very small, and VERY grumpy.

Muchiro: A sweet natured blue- ringed octopus who wants nothing more than to be friends, but suffers from crippling social anxiety that makes it seem aloof and unapproachable.

Everyone is TERRIFIED of it except Tengen, who thinks it's flamboyant as heck, and Shinobu, who is simultaneously obsessed with it and wants to stab it dead.

Muchiro just ignores it, for the most part.

(Giyuu can relate).

Mitsuri: Blobfish lacking in self- confidence. Mitsuri thinks it's cute, and is absolutely correct in her opinion. Accepts cuddles from Mitsuri and Obanai only, and blushes at compliments. It's also insanely flexible, just like its master. Copes well under high pressure!

Giyuu: This man has a manta ray, no doubt about it. A creature of few words with a serene and peaceful disposition... yet inexplicably a huge social magnet that effortlessly draws everyone's attention (away from Giyuu). Especially popular with young merchildren, whom it often allows to ride on its back. Holds a deep respect for both its master and Urokodaki (who has a manta ray too, by the way).

Obanai: Had the toughest time deciding this one. A striped beakfish would match his colour scheme perfectly, but... I just don't think it suits him. A striped marlin, maybe? Anyone with more ideas, let me know!

Kaburamaru is a sea snake, obviously. A black- banded sea krait.

Fun trivia about my Mermaid battle of the bands au:

The moonatics first song was called "Beat You With Hammers" and it includes killer yelling "FUCKING HAMMERS" 7 times

When error first joined he kept causing power outages

The Stars first album was very different from the rest of their catalog it was called "dig up the garden" and it was mainly a vent album they sometimes go back to the style of the first album for singles.

Both groups have several dozen covers of sea shanties because sailing is engraved into their hometowns culture

Geno does exist in the this au and yes he saw a skyscraper size merman and said smash.

Error and ink sometimes appear in music videos in their mermaid forms but via because I want to everyone of their fans thinks it's special effects

Yes the battle of the bands is basically just the two main groups performing and no one else. Sue me

So much hijinks, ink floods dream's house at one point, error biting people, etc

Stede getting his first tattoo:

Listen. This would be so much fun. Whether he gets one just to get one (of course something meaningful, even if it’s the swallow they get for sailing five thousand nautical miles because that would be a huge milestone for Stede) or he gets a matching tattoo with someone (Ed, Izzy, or the entire crew) I just would LOVE to write it. Stede excited, but deep down nervous because he’s heard it can hurt so he tries to be brave but he’s actually panicking and someone is there to hold his hand through it because he probably cries a little, let’s be honest. (After it’s done, he’d claim it really wasn’t that bad after bawling for the first couple of minutes)

Dark/Violent Pirate Captain Stede Bonnet:

An AU Where Stede becomes anything but a Gentleman pirate. Perhaps he starts as such, but events eventually lead him down a dark path that he finds himself enjoying thanks to the power it gives him. He’s still referred to as The Gentleman Pirate/The Polite Menace simply because he still plays the part, but with a sadistic and violent twist. Perhaps he’s feared more than Blackbeard himself? Perhaps they meet and a relationship still ensues, becoming the most feared and powerful Pirate Captains.

Werewolf (or vampire)/Human AU:

Stede as the human that falls in love with the beast (Izzy, Ed or whoever) in which case I can write as Stede or Izzy.

Girl Dad Stede Bonnet:

Because I need some romantic, sappy, dad/family feels. Could be a child they rescued/adopted later down the line. GentleBeard, Gentlehands, etc. I wouldn’t mind this for Izzy as well.

Notes: Hi! After I posted the third chapter I noticed I have more than 200 followers!!! I truly can't believe it, thank you so much!!! And I decided to write this chapter as fast as I could for a 100 followers celebration, which means the fifth chapter will be a 200 followers celebration along with a one shot from my masterlist. I'm so grateful for the people who keep reading this series and for the new ones who are giving me the opportunity to give them something to read. Likes, reblogs, comments are always appreciated. English is not my first language so pardon me if anything is misspelled or grammatically incorrect. Also the main idea came from a webtoon but I can’t remember it’s name. Enjoy!

Closing the door behind him a very happy leopard stops in front of the elevator to call, once inside he marks the parking lot. Which car should I drive today? Well I'm already late, I should take the smaller one he walks and picks up one of the two pair of keys dangling from his parking space I can't wait to take Beautiful out, just the two of us a boxy smile breaks through with this thought and gets in the car After this shoot I'm gonna pretend to be sick and get back to her quickly.

Thanking to the people who picked up the place for the photoshoot, since it was near the building he lives in, he exists the car and jogs a little bit to meet with his manager, a dog hybrid, waiting for him at the entrance, "Tae, I know you're a really big name in this industry, and thanks to me may I add" Jaehyun says with a silly smile and walking where there was already a lot of people waiting for Taehyung "but you can't be this late to a shoot man" this time is a frown what accompanies his words. "I know hyung, I'm sorry, you know I don't like to waste people's time but something happened yesterday and my phone died so the alarm didn't ring and I had to make breakfast but didn't have groceries so everything was a bit chaotic".

Once they're in front of the crew, Taehyung says out loud "I'm sorry everybody, I didn't mean to be this late" "It's okay, I mean you're THE Kim Taehyung you can be as late as you want" says a young leopard hybrid coming way to closer for his liking, like she almost wanted to touch him, so he takes a step back "I'm sorry Director, it won't happen again" he says bowing at her, which makes the girl blush "Um, Tae, she's no…" Jaehyun stars but gets interrupted "She's not the director Taehyung, it's me, she works with the make-up department" a slighter older fox hybrid walks towards Jaehyun and him "Oh, I'm sorry for being late Sir" he bows again, but this time at the right person "I know you're a big name but it can't happen again while we do this campaign" "It won't I swear" Taehyung says with his anima ears twitching nervously and his human ears red from embarrassment, at this the Director chuckles "It's okay, go get changed and then go to make-up while we set up things to start the shoot" he points at a girl who raises her hand She must be from the costume's department thus Taehyung walks behind her until they get to the dressing room.

"Hi Mr. Kim, I'm Danny and I'll be helping you during this campaign with what you'll be wearing" "Thank you Danny, and you can call me Taehyung, Mr. Kim sounds way to formal for my liking" he smiles gently at her Wow he is even more handsome in person and the rumor of him being a sweetheart are true, thank you universe for already having a partner otherwise I would probably be acting like the girl from make-up "Sure thing Taehyung" she says with red cheeks "These are the clothes you're gonna be wearing for this particular shoot" Danny shows him the main show of the shoot, a pair of underwear, with a pair of jeans and a jacket, both in denim "Okay" the leopard goes behind a curtain to change himself "If you need anything, I'm here" Danny says in a more professional tone "I actually have a question" he says while taking off his shirt "Sure, is anything not your size?" "No, it's not about the clothes or the shoot" "Oh" she says more relaxed "Sure" You're human right? I mean I didn't smell anything particular from you, except a faint smell of giraffe" he rushes his explanation in fear of offending her while almost falling from taking off his pants, she chuckles at this "Yes, I'm human and the scent you're smelling is my partner, it's faint because he's away on business, may I ask why are you asking this?" "It's just that I found my partner and she's also human and I wanted to know how can I court without scaring her, both my parents are hybrids so I don't know if I should do something different" a fondly smile forms on his lips by the mere thought of you "Well" she laughs a little "Andy was very forward, we crossed paths at a coffee shop and as I was exiting he screamed Wait! I think you're my partner to the entire shop and I genuinely thought that wasn't directed to me so I just walked out but he followed me and tapped my shoulder and told me the thing he just screamed was aimed at me, so we sat and started talking. I think everyone in this world knows they're destined to someone therefore you shouldn't be afraid of scaring" she finishes at the same time he pushes the curtain already changed That's the thing, I don't think she knows about the Connection which is so weird but he doesn't let his thoughts reflect on his face, instead he smiles at Danny "Thank you, you were very helpful" "Okay, let me see you" she turns on her job face "Please turn around" she hums looking for something that may stand out in the wrong way "I think you look great, the jacket is not too big, the boxers are up enough to see the brand but your abs can also be seen, and the jeans make your thighs look great, and this denim makes you ears stand out in very nice way. You're ready to go to make-up Taehyung" she smiles at him "Thank you Danny" he waves at her, exiting the dressing room.

"Hi handsome" someone says as soon as he exits, scaring him a little. Turning to look at the person who startled him, he finds the same leopard girl he thought was the director "Hey Taehyung, I was just coming to get you to take you to make-up" Jaehyun approaches but stops when spotting the girl "What are you doing here?" he asks "I'm here to pick him up" "The director told you to wait by your room, thus I'm asking again, what are you doing here?" "I'm just trying to show initiative, that's all" she answers with a fake sweet smile "Let's just go, yeah? We're already behind schedule because of me I don't want to keep delaying everything" Taehyung intervenes. "Yeah, you're right Tae…Lady, please take us to the make-up room" Taehyung puts himself between the wall and Jaehyun, just to be safe from the girl, watching this the girl frowns because she wants to be next to him Especially if he's wearing something so tempting. The three get to the room full of make-up suitcases "Okay, we're already you can leave now" she smirks at Jaehyun "You know make-up artists have to be alone to do the job quickly and without errors" Jaehyun growls a little bit at her but knows he can't do anything because she's right "Tae, call me if you need anything" he looks at the male leopard like saying If this crazy girl throws herself at you call me at which Taehyung only nods, and Jaehyun takes his leave.

"Okay Tae, you can sit here" she purrs the words in an attempt to sound sexy "Please don't call me Tae, only people close to me can call me that" Taehyung says in a deeper and strained tone of voice, one he uses when he's not comfortable or mad, dreading being with her and sitting in front of her "Then we can get closer, don't you think?" she trails one of her fingers up his right arm, trying to reach his exposed chest, however a male hand stops her intention "Look I really don't want to say anything to the director about your inappropriate behavior but if you continue I'm not going to have another choice but to talk to him" at this point his chest was vibrating to let out a growl, but he contained himself. Watching his face she felt a little scared but that didn't deterred her purpose This man is going to be mine, he just doesn't know it yet. I mean, we're both leopards, we obviously belong to each other. I have to be more forward with that in mind she sits in his lap, wrap her arms around his neck and brings her face closer to his, watching how her prey open his eyes wide Oh he looks so cute, and he's gonna be mine "Come on Tae, I know you don't have a partner and look at me, we would be incredible together, you're hot I'm hot, we're both leopards, and I'm just feeling this electricity between us, it's incredible" with each word her voice goes lower and her face closer I can't just toss her, it could hurt her and it would make a mess.

"Lia, what are you doing on top of Taehyung?!" A woman's voice wakes up Taehyung from his shock and stands up, trying not to toss the girl with too much force, and turns to find a familiar face "Mrs. Choi?" "Mom! What are you doing here?!" the girl screams at the woman Is she the daughter of one of the best make-up artists? Taehyung thinks "No, the one who asks questions is me. Now, what were you doing on top of him?" "Mom, we're part-" "She sat on top of me! Started touching me and saying crazy things! And we're definitely not partners, I already have one and she's at home!" it's not his intention to almost scream but that's how it comes out, he wants to be clear with anyone who's listening that he already has a partner, a very beautiful partner What? He has a partner? Well, it doesn't matter he's not marked yet which means anything can happen the other leopard in the room thinks "Oh my God Lia, I told you that if you wanted to come with me you had to behave and why was the door closed, you know that until the senior enters the apprentice can't close the door" Mrs. Choi says "Are you the one who's going to do my make-up?" Taehyung says with a hopeful tone, and he's so relieved even his ears stand up in relaxation "Yes, darling. And I'm so sorry for my daughter" hearing her mother say that Lia crosses her arms in frustration If you hadn't enter mom I could've kissed him "Now let's do your make-up quickly Taehyung, after all this isn't the first time we work together" and it's true for most of his shoots Mrs. Choi has been the one does his make-up so, by now, the know what works the best. After 15 minutes Mrs. Choi is finishing his make-up, she really wanted to finish fast after all her daughter couldn't stop looking at Taehyung and trying to touch at very chance she could get, and the boy's obviously very uncomfortable; "There, all done" she says applying a thin layer of gloss to make his lips stand a little bit, Taehyung looks at himself in the mirror in front of him "Thanks Mrs. Choi, as always your work is impeccable" the woman smiles at him "My pleasure Taehyung, will be seeing each other because of this campaign so we'll see each other soon" Taehyung stands up and exits the room listening to something along the lines of "Let's go home young lady, we need to talk about boundaries at a work place" "But m-".

"Tae, you're finally out" Jaehyun starts asking as soon as he sees Taehyung "What happened? Did that girl do something? You know what? Where's the director, he needs to know this" "Hyung, hyung!" Taehyung almost screams but at least gest Jaehyun's attention "She's Mrs. Choi's daughter, apparently wanted to learn about this world" "Mrs. Choi's daughter? But she's so ahhh" Jaehyun makes angelic noise "and that girl was so oohhh" Jaehyun makes scary noises now, which makes Taehyung laugh out loud. Hearing a deep laugh the director approaches the two young men "Taehyung, did you finish? Are you ready?" "Yes Sir" Taehyung immediately stops laughing and transforms it into a serious face "Okay, please put yourself in front of the camera" the older male chuckles softly at the nervousness of the young leopard.

Modeling comes easy for Taehyung since he was recruited at 16 years old people has praised his good looks and how natural he's in front of a camera, however he started his official career at 20 years old and he's been doing it for 5 years now. It pays the bills and lets him have a certain commodity, and now that he found you he knows he can also provide for you as well. Being in front of the camera makes Taehyung sometimes feel weird or even shy depending on the type of shoot he's doing but once he switches on his modeling talent he can only focus on what pose to next so it can come as natural as possible, something many directors like when working with him is that the leopard almost never need directions he knows which are his best poses, his best faces and most importantly knows how to use his body, which angles show, in this case, the clothes better and how can his animal features add to the mix, play with his tail or hide his ears to show something.

Because of how good he is at his job the shoots ends on time, despite Taehyung being late, and now was time to go home There's no way I'm gonna keep working when it's almost noon and Beautiful doesn't have anything to eat "Hey hyung, I'm not feeling well, I think being with that girl really disturbed me, besides I think I ate something that's bloating me. I think I should go home, tell the other shoots we can double the time when we reschedule or the can pay me less" Jaehyun couldn't say anything because Taehyung starts running to the dressing room "Hi Danny" and changes his clothes in a flash "Bye Danny", the leopard runs again and encounter the Director "Great job Director, thank you for everything, have a nice day, I look forward to the next shoot I swear I'll be on time" he bows and runs again towards his car not even paying attention to the "Taehyung's" Jaehyun is screaming.

Once inside his car he makes a plan First I need to buy her a phone, hers is obviously so old it doesn't work anymore, I have to buy one for Jiwoo too because I know how important she's to Beautiful. Second, the both need clothes just a few and the we can go together to buy more. Finally, groceries for the three of us. Parking at the mall, Taehyung goes straight to a store where he can buy the phones, for his Beautiful he buys the same one he has but pink because he saw that many of her things had that color It suits her that color he smiles at the thought, and for Jiwoo he buys same model but white. Outside of the store he looks at the watch on his wrist Damn it, there's not a lot of time adding something more to the list he goes to the food court and approaches to a Italian restaurant and orders 3 lasagnas to take, and while they're making them Taehyung goes to a store for clothes as soon as he sees a clerk similar to your body type he asks her to pick six shirts, two pair of jeans, and 4 pair of shorts It's getting hotter these days with summer approaching, he pays and goes to another store for the underwear where he basically does the same but this time with a very red face and animal ears glued to his head from embarrassment, in this store he pays even faster. He has to accept he must look like a mad man running from one place to another with a lot of bags; he gets to the restaurant and picks up what is gonna be lunch. Running again he sees his car closer and closer, he puts the lasagnas in the front seat and the rest of the bags on the back seat, once inside he takes route to the nearest supermarket around his building.

Getting off the car after parking, he takes a supermarket cart an starts going through the aisles to pick up and put inside the cart the food of his choice I just hope they like what I'm choosing, but I can always bring them with me if she wishes something else. With the supermarket already seen he approaches the cashier and pays and pack everything as fast as he can, looking at his watch once more he notices it's noon Okay I'm close just have to hurry up a little bit he tries to run with difficulty from the heavy grocery bags. This time he puts the bags on the trunk and gets up inside to start driving to the destination he wants to arrive the most Home.

Finally seeing his building he presses the gas a little bit more, once inside the parking lot, he parks next to his other car and takes out all of the boxes that despite being heavy he can carry all of them thanks to the gym and his leopard genes. He walks towards the elevator and calls it, it doesn't take long and it opens its door and he walks inside. Marking the 10th floor, he's almost buzzing with excitement, his tail is wiggling behind him in a happy manner. The elevator chimes and announces it arrived at its destination opening its doors. The leopard exists and runs for his apartment, in front of the door he opens it Finally. "I'm home"

summary : sirens, creatures of unmatched beauty and cunning charm, they lure men in with their voices and grace, taking advantage of all the gullible fishermen and pirates. mermaids, the peacekeepers of the deep blue sea, naive and kind to a fault at times. a fated encounter between the two underwater dwellers leads to a difficult situation and a love that shouldn’t be.

warnings : naive reader, mentions of death, mentions of blood , mentions of being captured, mentions of torture, cruel treatment, brief description of mutilation.

a/n : i think the last few chapters are gonna be pretty short, like 2k-3k cuz im really busy with work and i just broke up with my boyfriend so that’s fun 🤩 oh well. let me know what you think about the chapter!!!

it was never his intention to hurt you, rintarou didn’t want you to be chained up and stripped of your very identity every waking hour of the day, however it was his actions and selfishness that led to this situation. you were to be chained and tortured from sunrise til sunset — or until captain yuuji deemed you too unwell to handle anymore harm for the day.

rintarou wasn’t a horrible person, but he was an idiot. when yuuji had first promised not to kill him in return for a siren scale, rin was blinded by the idea that maybe if he gave yuuji more than what he asked for— he could get a bigger reward. freedom.

unfortunately, rintarou didn’t take into account the fact that the extraction of those scales would be by force, not a single drop of sympathy from the sleazy pirates. your screams pounded against his skull, your begs and cries for him to help or for the crew mates to stop and to leave you alone, they clung onto him from the moment he woke up to the moment he once again fell into a slumber.

he knew what he needed to do, he needed to find an opportunity and use it to get you out of that cage and back into the water where you’d ultimately be much safer, and maybe if the two of you were lucky, you’d be accepted back into your family and he wouldn’t be a dishonoured guard.

however, rintarou knew that was wishful thinking.

getting you out of the cage wouldn’t be the hard part, and your sisters accepting you wouldn’t be an issue either. what posed a threat was the act of getting you off the ship and into the water especially now that the crew had stunted your legs from forming. he would have to drag you and use all his body strength to get your heavy tail off the floor, but it could be done.

he just needed a little bit of patience, and a lot of grovelling.

with light footsteps, rintarou picks up a bucket and fills it with sea water, if your legs couldn’t form the next best option was to keep your tail wet so you wouldn’t die of dehydration. the ship was dead asleep save for the captain who seemed to never close his eyes. yuuji was locked away in his quarters, paying no mind to what rintarou was doing— not that he could even see the scheming merman.

rintarou sprints to where you were locked up as quietly as he could. his goal was to not let any of the water drop while also keeping the attention off of him, and he thanked whatever God there was for letting him complete at least one task successfully.

he makes it to your cage and mumbles a small greeting, following it up with an apology before he threw the entire bucket’s worth of water all over you. you could only gasp at the sensation of being hit by a large wave of water.

“…thank you.” your reply was dry as you blinked rapidly to clear up your eyesight. “what do you want?”

rintarou clears his throat, choosing to ignore your short tone and icy glare. he sends you a sheepish smile. “so, i have a great idea!“ he got himself situated on the floor in front of you, leaning back to rest his body weight on his hands.

“i think the only advantage we have is our sleep schedule being drastically different to that of a human’s. pirates are also heavy drinkers, so i was thinking i could get them drunk— they pass out, i get the keys and we jump overboard?”

you hummed half-heartedly, thinking over the plan in your head, it didn’t seem horrible, but it did seem like it could go wrong very easily.

“and when would we do this?”

rintarou stayed silent for a few seconds, lips pursed and brows furrowed as he went over the remaining timeline before the final harvest. “i don’t really think we have enough time to perfect the plan, we’d need to do it as soon as possible… m-maybe tomorrow night?”

“rin…”

“no— it’s fine, tomorrow after they come down to harvest your scales again, i’ll suggest we celebrate about how much profit we’re going to make, then once they’re drunk enough i’ll get the keys from them.” he nods at his own words, setting them in stone and preparing himself for the day ahead of him.

“yn, i hope you know i truly am sorry. my apologies can’t take back the hurt i’ve caused or make up for betraying you, but i do regret what i’ve done. when we get out of here i’ll spend the rest of eternity making up for what i put you through. i promise.”

“i don’t need your promises, rintarou. i just want my sisters back.” you look away from the man, who had put his hand through the opening of the cage, curling his hand until only his pinkie was left outstretched.

rintarou keeps his hand held out to you for a few more seconds, before dropping it, he knew you wouldn’t reciprocate the action.

“i’ll get you out of here, yn. just… hang in there.”

you kept your head turned away.

rin watches closely as the two usual crew mates make their way down below the deck, sinister smiles on their faces and an empty bucket in each hand. rintarou’s brows furrowed… why did they have two buckets?

light on his feet, rintarou takes quiet steps towards the door that leads to the room below the deck, heart beating just a little faster than before and his breath hitching as he picks up on what the two of them were saying to you.

“count your hours, pretty. the last thing you’re gonna see before captain yuuji guts ya is us!” they cackled, shoving one another and slapping their thighs as if what they said had been the peak of comedy.

you remained silent, head down turned and eyes trained on anywhere but the two men standing menacingly above you. they scoffed at your lack of reaction.

“stupid siren, bitch. i’m gonna make sure you feel the pain my comrades felt when you ate them alive.” he spoke lowly, crouching down before you and roughly gripping your jaw from outside of the cage, he sneered at the sight of you.

rintarou bites his nail, you no longer had a few days— they wanted to speed up the process, they wanted you dead by sunrise.

pushing himself away from the wall, he slithers into the room, clearing his throat to announce his presence. “lovely evening, isn’t it?” he pulled out one of the chairs that had been stacked in the corner of the dimly lit room and sat on it, resting his arms against the backrest of the chair.

“y’know, just a word of advice— the longer you take to kill a siren and the less you harvest their scales, the more potent they become.” he smiled brightly at the two men who looked to him, then turned to each other. mulling it over in their heads for a second before slyly smirking back at rin.

“anything to cause these leaches more pain.”

rin’s bright smile drops into a stiffer one, he pays the backrest once before jumping off the chair, biting back a grimace at the sound of your newly beginning screams. he spotted the key on the shorter man who remained seated by the cell door with the bucket clutched tightly in his arms and the keys dangling from his hip.

with limited time, rin runs back up to the upper deck, frantically searching for the alcohol that had been stocked on the ship. he didn’t need to get everyone drunk, just the two who had been assigned to harvest your scales from you. racing across the large ships deck, he makes it to the far left corner of the ship, where many new boxes and kegs were placed on display.

he was sure the two men weren’t the pickiest, pirates weren’t known for their refined palates. grabbing two bottles in each arm, rintarou sprinted back towards the door to the lower deck, ignoring the groans and shouts of protest from the crew mates manning the deck. they’d be asleep soon enough anyways. the sun had begun setting and the sky had now been engulfed in a pretty purple hue.

he made his way down the steps and loudly dropped the bottles of alcohol onto the chair he had previously sat on.

“boys, it’s your lucky day— look at what i snagged!” he holds one of the drinks in his right hand, raising it as a toast to the men. the two of them looked at each other, the bucket half full of your scales, then back to rin who now shook the bottle tauntingly at the men.

with a satisfied nod, the men pick up the bucket, lock the door and take a seat on the floor with a bottle each, taking large swigs until eventually the bottles are all empty. the two drunken idiots giggle and murmur to one another, laughing about how they got the privilege of drinking the special alcohol, rin paid no mind to their blabbers.

when he was sure they were far gone enough, he snagged the keys from the short man who was now passed out face down on the moistened floorboards. rintarou tip toes his way to your slumped over figure, holding back a gag at your mutilated tail, you had essentially been laying in a pool of your own blood, tears and discarded scales. he didn’t know if you’d be able to handle the pain of the salt water seeping into every tiny cut and crevice on your heavily injured tail.

with a shaky breath rin unlocks the cage, and makes quick work with you, grabbing your limp arm and slinging it around his shoulder, muttering a quick apology at what was about to happen, before dragging the rest of your body, your heavy tails scraping against the harsh texture of the floor, you bite back cries of pain even in your weakened state. you could cry when you were free.

rintarou uses one hand to push the door open, the other still tightly gripping onto you. he peeks his head out and when he confirms the area is empty, he uses the strength he built up after many nights training in the royal guard program to haul your body closer to the ledge, once you were in the water things would be easier.

but easy wasn’t a word that rintarou liked much. as the two made it to the edge of the ship they hear a loud and amused sigh, heavy footsteps slowly making their way towards the two. rintarou curses, turning to look over his shoulder at yuuji who slowly claps the closer he walks towards them.

“i’ve gotta say, im impressed. you actually almost made it.” pulling his pistol out from the place beside his hip, he had the gun pointed straight at rintarous chest. an icy grin on his face.

“unfortunately for you, im not as dumb as you think. drop the siren, rintarou.”

the two men held eye contact, a silent battle fought only with harsh glares.

“let her go, or i shoot the both of you.” he cocks the gun, eyes still firmly locked onto rin’s. the merman could only gulp. he looked at you, your eyes no longer half lidded, your body more alert now that there was an active threat placed in front of you.

you looked so… fragile.

rintarou sighed, letting go of your arm and letting you drop to the floor with a cry. he stepped away from your body, ignoring the weight of your hurt gaze.

“if— if i leave her here, if i promise to stay far away from the ship… will you let me go?” his eyes are down cast, a frown prominent on his face. he closes his eyes at the sound of your choked gasp.

“rin… w-what—” your broken whisper is stopped by the sound of yuuji’s loud cackles, the blonde man clutches at his chest tightly as his laugh becomes more hysteric.

“you truly are a bastard, y’know rin, i really liked you. sure— whatever, you wanna live so badly? go jump, but if i see you anywhere near this ship, i will make sure your death is a slow and painful one.”

rin let’s out a relieved sigh, sparing you one last glance before preparing himself to jump over, he shivers at the fire burning behind your heartbroken gaze.

“oh, rintarou. before you go,” yuuji lets a bullet fly straight into the fleeing boy’s shoulder, watching in satisfaction as he falls overboard with a shocked gasp and a cry of pain. “foolish boy.” yuuji places his gun back by his hip.

he turns to look down at you, examining your weak body as you lay silent on the floor. if you weren’t a damned siren, yuuji would think you were quite the beauty. with a hum, he turns to knock on one of the cabin doors, getting the men inside to drag your body back into the lower deck cage, ignoring your pleas and begs for them to let you go.

on the way back up, the two drunken fools were dropped by yuuji’s feet.

you wouldn’t be the only one begging for your life tonight.

MER!MIRUKO & MER!DEKU

════ 🌊 ════ 🌊 ════

Alright, it's Mermay, and now I got thoughts! I love mermaids and anyone who knows me knows Miruko and Midoriya are my faves.

So of course, this post is going to be all that combined!

First! Shoutout to my lovely moot, @minisheku

I have had so much motivation to conjure up some details of this Mer!AU have in mind now that my eyes have been opened!!

Mer!Miruko

For Miruko, she's a sea bunny mermaid to me. So like in canon, she does have a Rabbit tail and ears. Except, the features are more aquatic. The ears are white and tipped black, thin like a sea bunny's rhinophores and her sea bunny tail is black instead of the white in canon. Her eyes are red, just like in canon. Her hair also remains white, like in canon, but also switches into purple at the ends.

The base color of her mermaid tail is white with black, purple, red and gold scales scattered on it here and there. The same scales cover her sides and breasts. In addition, she has black fins, a larger one on the end and two side fins, one on each side of her mermaid tail. She has deep brown skin.

She has gills on the sides of her neck and her "rabbit" tail works as gills. Miruko's hands are also clawed (like how Burnin's hands are) and she has a black coloring that runs from her hands and up to her forearms like gloves. Miruko also has fangs, her default, however when she gets aggressive or defending herself, all her teeth are sharp (think Kirishima). Her build is how she is in canon athletic and curvaceous. She also has a thin scar on her left arm from an incident.

Like sea bunnies, Miruko's diet consists mostly of algae, seagrass, and sea sponges. However, she doesn't shy away from eating other sea life. She also has eaten humans.

Due to her diet, Miruko possesses toxins that she can use to paralyze and potentially kill however she chooses. Her rhinophores/ears works as sensors to detect chemicals.

Miruko's personality is relatively the same as in canon. Bit abrasive, speaks her mind, a tough cookie. Here though, she's also friendly, caring and protective. She's wary around others, except Izuku, Inko and Hisashi. She has instincts that alert her of potential threats and has ease reading others.

MER!DEKU

At first, like Miruko, I envisioned Izuku to be a sea bunny merman, but changed him to a sea sheep merman. (Idea was inspired by my lovely moot.) As he does in canon, he still has his green eyes, green hair with black shadows and freckles. Instead of human ears, he has sheep-like ears that droop down. Of course, aquatic and thin, and the ears/rhinophores are sensitive. They're colored green.

The base color of his mermaid tail is black with green, light green and teal green scales scattered here and there. The same scales cover his sides and stop just under his chest. His end fin is spiky, a bundle of green cerata (the leaf-like appendages) resembling the body of a sea sheep's. He has smaller cerata in a bundle at the base of his waist to form a sheep-like tail. He also has these same green appendages going down his back.

Like Miruko, Izuku has gills on the sides of his neck. He also has fangs, that can convert to rows of sharp teeth whenever he feels aggressive and defensive. He has clawed hands. From his hands up to his forearms is a light green coloring that blends into his light skin. He also has freckles on his shoulders, and many scars as he does in canon, the most prominent one being the large abrasion on his upper right. His fingers on his right hand are also slightly deformed. He also has defines muscles.

Like sea sheep, Izuku's diet relies on algae. Also due to possessing chlorophyll in his cerata, Izuku also can perform photosynthesis. He also eats smaller aquatic life, seaweed and humans.

His rhinophores/ears work as sensors. He also has the ability to create "smokescreens" that are more effective underwater to blind his targets and work to hide him.

Again, like Miruko, his personality is nearly the same. He's compassionate and often times excited about learning the world around him and easily analyzes what surrounds him. He used to be timid, but over time grew out of it. He's also protective (mostly of his family) and sweet as he is, Izuku is prone to get angry and violent.

Here's some added details!

There are other merfolk and it's not often male merfolk are born, so Izuku is a rare case.

As in some tales, merfolk are violent in nature, responsible for some disasters and tragedies. However, not all merfolks are like this. Some are peaceful and only choose to become aggressive whenever they're in danger.

They're capable of magic, often using it to create homes and children. Sometimes, merfolk use magic to grant themselves han appearances. Miruko and Izuku can do this.

Jumping off that, when children are born, they are first enclosed in shells that don't open until ready. The infants are typically the size of a tennis ball at birth.

For a little bit of history, Inko and Hisashi were newlyweds when they found Miruko and Izuku's shells and raised them as their own children at a house near the beach inherited by Hisashi. Inko and Hisashi are human.

For now, that's all I have for Miruko and Izuku are merfolk! I'm still working on more for this AU, not planning on making it too big of one though and I now have a fic in the works for this AU.
