Off topic but to anyone who’s struggled to grow Lavender. Oh my god.
I love lavender! I’ve tried growing it basically every year since I started gardening! I love the color, the smell, and how much pollinators like it. But every year, it would die the instant I tried to repot it. The issue is, it doesn't like to have 'wet feet' (basically stay in wet soil for long), but as a Floridian... yeah. I tried in-ground, I tried potting soil, I tried mixing potting soil with sand. No dice.
This year a cashier at a gardening store suggested I try fucking SUCCULENT SOIL.
And its doing WONDERS.
Gaze upon my lavender plants in AWE! They aren’t dying, they aren’t wimpy and weak, they are THRIVING in their environment! All because of succulent soil!!!
Granted, we'll have to wait until the summer stormy season starts to see how they do with tons of rainfall, but as it stands so far? I wish I knew this sooner, so I'm telling you now!!!

🤍 ‿Here's a flower for every hug of yours I long to receive. They comfort me from deep within my crevices. They're the best medicine in the world. It's the way you hold me into you, nestled into your shoulders. It's the way you press me into you. Those long hugs of yours are the best. It's the way whether we're standing or laying down. I absolutely love your hugs. A flower for every single hug of yours. With those hugs, I can create a beautiful garden of love.⁀🤍

Lavender is one of the classic English cottage garden flowers. With all this lavender around, let’s take a look at this elegant garden plant’s culinary and medicinal uses. Fresh lavender buds stirred into batter for cakes, cookies, and scones gives the treats a special flavour. I also like to add a sprig of lavender to my English-style black tea with milk. There are a lot of claims about lavender’s medical uses but only a select few hold up under medical research - easing anxiety and insomnia, and helping fight fungal infections and heal wounds. The chemicals in lavender also help repel clothes moths. The same chemicals give lavender its appealing scent, particularly the S-linalool molecule.

Todays Recipes Of Skyrim blog is Lavender And Honey Bread!
🍞🍯🍞🍯🍞🍯🍞🍯🍞🍯🍞🍯🍞🍯🍞🍯🍞🍯
This is a popular bread in Whiterun, where lavender grows wild and countless beehives are kept to provide the Honningbrew Meadery with enough honey for their mead production. The honey and lavender are such a natural pairing that they are combined not only for the mead but also in this flavorful loaf.
Prep: 15 minutes
Rising: 1 hour
Baking: 25-30 mins
Makes: 1 loaf
Pairs well with: Honningbrew Mead, fresh berry jam & butter
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups warm milk
1/4 cup 1/2 stick unsalted butter
1/3 cup honey
1 heaping tablespoon culinary lavender
2 teaspoons instant dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups all-purpose flour
Directions:
1. Lightly butter the sides of an 8x5 inch 1 pound bread loaf pan & set aside. In a large bowl, combine the milk, butter & honey, stirring until the honey has dissolved. Stir in the lavender, yeast, & salt, along with 1 cup of flour. Continue adding flour 1 cup at a time until the dough is no longer sticky add more flour if necessary.
2. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface& knead for several minutes, until the dough bounces back slightly when poked. Form into an oblong shape and settle gently into loaf pan. Cover lightly with plastic or a warm towel & set somewhere warm to rise for 1 hour until roughly doubled and in size & has a nice shape.
3. Once the dough has risen, preheat to 400F & bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the loaf comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing.
*TIP*
Culinary lavender can be acquired from alchemists but is more readily purchased at health food stores or online.
I hope you enjoyed this blog more to follow soon
