Potluck

Attending the potluck was something that the beta had been looking forward to all year but, of course, as fate would have it, he wasn't feeling it so much right now. Three years gone and this is where that got him. At odds with Caleb and feeling like he didn't belong anymore. It wasn't so much that he had to be there, but keeping up appearances wasn't something he was great at.

Having sat at the main table and chatted with some of the guests, Jax saw the opportunity to get some space and stepped aside, pint of beer in hand to a little clearing. He exhaled softly, relieved to be alone for a few moments, and felt his jeans for a small box of cigarettes. He wasn't a smoker. Not even close, but he had been known to enjoy a smoke from time to time.

Wasting no time once he'd made sure he was alone, Reed leaned up against a tree and lit it.
