getting into this awesome new kdrama called see you in my 19th life and i’ve been losing my MIND screaming into my pillow at the angst and poignance but some part of me is fully flabbergasted watching myself sobbing over this cisheterosexual couple in a kdrama. it’s just so ... 5th grade me. i know now that i’m bi and the continued lgbtq+ erasure in most kdramas feel like pointed straight propaganda in the year of our lord 2023. but you know what there is something so gay about being born again and again (in different genders!!!) looking for love and a home and a happy ending, and then ending up with a handsome soft boyfriend who has never done anything wrong ever who is also a passenger princess that you occasionally must rescue from goons with your mad fighting and critical thinking skills. this is a show for bisexuals change my mind
Mina: Dear diary, Lucy is so beautiful when she sleeps. No wonder that guy fell in love with her tbh. God, I wish I could propose marriage. I'd do a great job. I'm sure these thoughts are not related in any way
I went up holding my wings like 👉🏻👈🏻 and asked “would you wear these?” And Misha gave me soft smile and said “of course” and held his arm out for me to put them on. So it’s like a little stretchy band and I stretch it and he looks down and says “oh, that’s not gonna work” bc he has giant biceps of steel 🤷♀️😂 so then I asked “could I hold them up behind you?” And his eyes light up and he says “yes, that will be perfect”. So I held them up behind them and took the picture, and I turned and said “thank you so much for this” and he gave me another soft smile and said “of course, they’re awesome”.
To me the way Keeley’s bisexuality has been written so far has been so realistic. She’s making all of these blatantly queer comments about women, yet they’re treated as jokes by everyone around her, and most of the audience. Which is just…yeah, that’s exactly how it is. People do assume you’re joking if you say stuff like that.
It’s so wild that bi women can essentially be out of the closet, making comments about wanting to have sex with women, yet nobody takes it seriously. They don’t believe you’re bi unless you explicitly say so. I’ve been there, thinking I’m out of the closet making comments about women I find attractive, just to find out years later that those people thought I was straight because I didn’t tell them how I label myself.
Maybe this isn’t on purpose or maybe it is, but either way I’m interested to see what Jack brings to the table. To me it’s blatantly obvious that Keeley has a little crush on her and now I’m wondering if they’re going to go anywhere with that. It would be interesting if Keeley has a little fling with her, especially to see how people react to her bisexuality being “confirmed” — when really it’s been there the whole time but people just like to ignore it.
Aging rockstar Eddie Munson who goes viral on tiktok after dueting a fancam of him and Stevie that is backed by the bi wife energy audio.
It's shaky, clearly a spur of the moment response, Eddie is obviously captivated for a second by a clip of Stevie that starts to play. He sighs and directs his attention back to the audience. "I love my beautiful wife, the sun to my moon, the light of my life."
You can just make out another voice from somewhere in the background call out, "Love you too!"
"But I did not survive being an openly gay teenager in the 1980s in rural Indiana to be called a heterosexual!"
He zooms in closer to his face, it's unclear whether this was intentional, "I did not go through a sexuality crisis in the early 90s when she transitioned, to be called a heterosexual."
Stevie comes out from somewhere behind where Eddie is ranting to drape herself around his shoulders, "Oh that's a good picture of us." The original video is a step above thirst trap and the picture in question is a pap shot of Stevie and Eddie from a long past Halloween. Stevie is in the famous Farrah onepiece and Eddie is in first husband Lee Majors' Six Million Dollar Man red tracksuit.
"You just like it cause we actually ran into Farrah and she liked your hair."
"It was also-"
She isn't dislodged as Eddie fails, well practiced at staying on her perch. "I didn't cancel the back half of our 1995 tour because of morning sickness to get called a HETEROSEXUAL!"
Stevie's smile is indulgent and soft, it wrinkles the corners of her eyes in soft crows feet that betray her age. "You can be trans and straight."
"A fucking ally then!"
She's got a sage Mona Lisa smile as the video ticks to a close, "I love my husband, and he's actually bi."
I swear Yor's eyes and expressions in general look SO DIFFERENT as the manga progresses. She goes from being pretty lifeless and calculating in the first chapters to becoming this sweet, sensitive, considerate person full of love and compassion. This is an example of chapter 2 vs. chapter 91 btw. Just wow.
I believe in bisexual Katara -not because of any of her interactions with the other women characters on the show/in the comics (because they were all pretty clearly platonic in my opinion)
But simply because Aang radiates bi-wife energy from every pore of his being
