things that were not on my 2024 bucket list
quitting my job
finding random overwhelming joy in the tiniest of things in my newfound silence and time
thinking that maybe there is a god?
actually paying attention in the choir stalls and not just practicing the next hymn
asking questions about christianity
looking into queer theology
unlearning irish catholic school religious brainwashing
finding an affirming parish and actually loving it
knowing that there is a god
thinking that maybe God is ok with my existence? as a Gay?
knowing that she is more than ok with it
starting a tumblr about it

Would that be so crazy to declare LGBTQ a religion/monarchy?
Just think about it:
- in a monarchy (still present in the 21st century) the royal line is a blood/sperm line. Our sperm line is a Ghostly Sperm line. The holy ghost chooses which will become gay. Just like "God" chose virgin Mary (at 12, was that a surprise? She gave birth at 13)
- we had/have apostles and martyrs of many sorts. Some of the most brilliant minds and talents of humanity were/are gays. I think sainthood would be reasonable
- we have kings and queens, their tiaras are not much over the Pope's and the attire not much more extravagant that the Catholic priests'.
- while religions worship a god, an invisible entity that "we know it's there because the book says so", we have tons of more books and witnesses of a greater entity, the Reasonable Human Nature.
- miracles have been and keep being performed, from darkrooms to private houses, the lives of so many change for the better because of it
-we gather, like the first christian sect worshippers, in underground places. We try to leave our marks for the future generations, form a history book for the gays of tomorrow (which the Bible, at least the first part, is)
-we have been / are victims of the modern day Caligulas and their arenas where people can enjoy watching the lions devour us. We are victims of depression, drug abuse and commercial crap that sells us something on the promise we'll be easier tolerated. (The Roman empire didnt so much want to change the religions of the occupied territories, as long as they were paying taxes to Rome)
- once LGBTQ will be declared a religion (I hope some day it will, as religions of the future will be different), we'll be freely allowed to publicly wear symbols of our religion. All the others do, from cross pendants to burkas, from hare Krishnas to mother Theresa's girls. We wont need the Pride, 1x a year, to show that. And in principle, we'll be protected by las as religion. Several countries "protect" LGBTQs but that doesnt stop Karens shooting at us. Imagine if some Texan slaughtered a transwoman when he discovered "the hooker was fake". That would be attack to a Religion, not just a person.

there's too much animosity towards queer people who want to practice their faith/spirituality, both within their respective religions and within the LGBTQIA+ community.
we need to protect and lift up our queer siblings of faith.
our queer Christians.
our queer Jews.
our queer Muslims.
our queer Hindus.
our queer Buddhists.
our queer Sikhs.
our queer Baháʼís.
our queer Wiccans/Pagans.
our queer Shintos.
our queer siblings of indigenous/folk faiths.
our queer SBNR siblings.
our queer siblings of whatever religion/spiritual systems they observe.
you're all beautiful and valid and loved and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. 💖

I'm so sick of queer spaces being so heavily anti religion to a comical degree. We always preach intersectionality or to look at nuance but then when religion is brought up it's all black and white "hur dur religion bad, you're bad because religion all religious people are going out in the streets murdering trans people and eating gay babies" like do none of us see the irony here? I'm trans, bi and religious and I've gotten hate for it but since I'm a pagan I get less hate than I've seen trans Christians or Muslims get. Not everyone who is religious is bigoted, not every religious person is the strawman in your head. Religion is not inherently bigoted, most of the time the stuff actual bigoted religious people use as justification for bigotry is mistranslations or blatantly wrong interpretations of religious texts. I'm not trying to convert anyone to any religion I'm just begging other queer folk to stop being hypocrites and to stop harassing other queer people for being religious

the seven deadly sins are such bullshit fear tactics. if youve left the church, embrace them.
be proud of who you are. be happy when you look in the mirror and see how hot you are. yeah i see you flexing in the mirror after a workout. nice progress btw honey you look nice today.
dont worry about getting seconds, or thirds even, at dinner. dont worry about eating what society says is "too much" or "too little". eat until youre full. set aside what you cant finish for later so you dont waste food.
its okay to be greedy. its okay to want things for yourself. sometimes we see things that people have and we're like "dude i wish i had that." thats just human. envy and greed on that level are normal.
take a rest day. dont bother going to church this sunday. take a shower, read a book, drink some tea, eat some good food, pet a cat or dog. take care of yourself; its not lazy.
be angry with those who wronged you. punch a punching bag, write about how much you hate them, go work out aggressively and take care of your emotions in a way that doesnt hurt yourself or others. its okay to not forgive the people who hurt you. you arent doing anything wrong, babe.
embrace your sexuality (or, if it applies, asexuality, cause yall need love too). stop feeling shame for wanting pleasure. go read or watch something that turns you on. explore your body. ask your partner to try something new. if youre asexual, then fucking step on the people who say you need to have sexual attraction to be human. you dont. you dont need to be allosexual (or alloromantic) to "qualify as a human." we all experience life in different ways. find your way to experience it.
thought crime isnt real
do no harm but take no shit

Content Warning: religion and transphobia⚠️
Happy Trans Day of Visibility 🏳️‍⚧️ I made a comic reflecting on my church upbringing as an eXvangelical trans person. The Jesus conservative Christians claim to represent looked lot more like many of the LGBTQ+ friends I know and love. Just some food for thought 💖

I will say it again:
The LGBTQ+ person who asks Christians to "welcome and accept them without telling them they should change" is openly demanding that the Christians change. From being Christians, to being non-Christians.
Because Christ died to save you from who you used to be. When you become a Christian, you're choosing to change from who you were to who He tells you to be. That is Christianity. To tell Christians to stop talking and behaving like that is what they believe is to not only reject Christianity yourself, but demand that they reject it, too.
Do not listen to any influencer, pop culture icon, or person who says to you that Christians do not love LGBTQ+ people, because they say LGBTQ+ people should change who they are.
Christians change who they are. More accurately, they let Christ change who they are. That’s how they became Christians. Truth goes hand in hand with love—it is not avoiding it. Because love is not anti-rejection. Love rejects plenty of things! Love rejects hatred, self-focus, and lies. So of course Christians who believe in a God that says, “let Me change you into who you’re meant to be” can tell you that you need to change—and that is loving. They love you, and they’re not okay with leaving you the way you are. Because Christ didn’t leave them, the Christians, the way they were.
Don't listen to anyone, "Christian" or otherwise, who tells you different.

DZRH News on Twitter @dzrhnews:
JUST IN: Drag artist na si Amadeus Fernando Pagente o mas kilala bilang Pura Luka Vega, muling inaresto ng MPD

Bahaghari on Facebook: Pura Luka Vega's rearrest highlights LGBTQI's non-enjoyment of freedom of expression and artistic freedom
After months of being released on bail, drag artist Pura Luka Vega has been arrested again, this time by a different court but with the same complaint.
Bahaghari once again condemns the weaponization of the law against Pura and their right to freely express their relationship with faith through art. Evangelical groups have allotted resources to further marginalize an LGBTQI+ person in the court of law. Similarly, many city councils across the Philippines have declared them "persona non grata," following a viral video where they, dressed as Jesus Christ, performed Ama Namin remix in a bar.
It has not gone unnoticed to Bahaghari the double standards at play in this case. Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the mega-church Kingdom of Jesus Christ was indicted by FBI for alleged crimes against women and children but none of the city councils who have declared Pura "persona non grata" are mum on this issue. Until now, Quiboloy is in hiding even with summons from the Senate in their investigation on the abuse allegations against him. Furthermore, the complainants for the case are all affiliated with the Philippines for Jesus Movement (PJM) founded by Eddie Villanueva, the father of Senator Joel Villanueva, whose office has deployed disgusting tactics to delay the SOGIESC Equality Bill.
The art of drag and other similar acts of expression by LGBTQI+ people are under attack around the world. In the United States, legislations have been passed to criminalize people based on gender identity and expression. In the Philippines where a national anti-discrimination law is absent, LGBTQI+ individuals are subject to gender-based violence.
Pura Luka Vega's case is an attack on LGBTQI+ people's expression on their relationship with faith and religion and the expression of their artistic freedom. LGBTQI+ individuals have different expressions on their faith. Many are still practicing their religion. Some have abandoned it altogether due to the trauma and marginalization they felt in the presence of their religious leaders.

For those still thinking that you can be pro-LGBTQ or a gay Christian and still be a bible believing Christian, you literally can't.
You're either one or the other; not both. Homosexuality is still a sin. It doesn't lead to any amount of human flourishing. Doesn't contribute to the 'survival of the fittest' or any other materialistic naturalistic arguments that could be cropped up.
Sin is still sin regardless if its accepted in the society or not. Do I hate lgbtq folk? Nope, but I know people will call me every evil name under the sun because I point out that they live in sin which so happens to be apart of their identity. Ergo, that makes me look like I hate the person. But I don't!
I just see sin and call it as it is. Do I struggle with sin in my own life? Of course, all Christians still struggle with our out of place desires and selfish quirks but we fight. Not by our own strength but by the strength of God Himself; we do not have the power to resist sin on our own. Even in our own sanctification depends on the Spirit of God; not us.
But at the end of the day, you gotta love one or the hate the other. Which one will you choose? Hint: it's not both.

If you can quote and follow, line and verse, every time the Christian Bible references gay people (3 times) but can't adhere to the messages of:
Accepting immigrants among you and giving them rights and justice (22 times)
Respecting workers and treating them fairly (50+ times)
Forgive debts if the person can't pay it back without self-injury and don't charge interest (11)
You're not supposed to hoard wealth (I would be here all day if I counted, honestly)
Enact personal sacrifice to help the poor (same)
You are not to condemn one another (21+)
It's not about the Bible. When you spew vile, wicked bigotry and befoulment I can't recognize what you say in there. I can't find its teachings in you.
