Word Count: 2.5K
A/N: This story was completely self-indulgent, but I hope someone out there likes it!

You’ve always been very reluctant to celebrate your birthday.
You haven’t had a birthday party since you were 12. The following year your mom died a couple of days before and neither you nor your family were in the mood to celebrate anything.
It wasn’t by any means unexpected, she had been sick for a few years, but it still hit you hard.
You were the youngest and were far too young when she first got sick to really understand everything going on.
You were 8 and all you really remember is watching your mom get more and more sick until eventually there was nothing more the doctors could do.
Her death hit you hard and you closed yourself off, never talking about it or even crying after the day of her funeral. To this day you’ve still never cried, in front of others or even by yourself.
You started exercising to channel all your energy, refusing to do anything more like the therapy your family suggested.
When you were 15 you discovered SHIELD and decided you wanted to help others, so you signed up for the SHIELD Academy, working your hardest and pushing yourself to your very limit.
You ended up being not only the youngest cadet ever, but the youngest to actually graduate and then the youngest recruit at SHIELD at only 16 years old.
Natasha was very impressed when she heard about you and took a liking to you, convincing Fury to make you part of her team during her missions and teaching you everything she knows.
That’s how you ended up in the Avengers Initiative, not that you felt you didn’t deserve it since you know how hard you worked and everything you gave up to work towards this achievement.
The team themselves were initially skeptical since you were barely 18 during the battle of New York, but they were quickly proven wrong when they saw how well you handled yourself against the Chitauri.
You were devastated when SHIELD fell, but carried on as an Avenger, battling Ultron and then moving to the Compound with the team.
You met the actual Bucky for the first time when you were 22, during the whole Civil War thing with Baron Zemo. Like Natasha, you were on Tony’s team, fighting mostly Pietro, but the conflict eventually ended.
It took Tony some time to get over the whole “Bucky killing his parents while brainwashed” thing, but, as he likes to say, he can’t call himself a genius without admitting that Bucky didn’t have much of a choice.
Thanks to Tony’s help Shuri was able to find a solution to Bucky’s brainwashing faster than she would’ve alone, meaning Bucky didn’t have to go back into cryo and was pretty quickly cleared to join the team, about a year after the airport battle in Leipzig.
You were warmly accepted by everybody and, the more the team grew the more you felt at home with these people.
And now you wish you could burn down the whole compound because, somehow, Tony convinced you to have a birthday party for the first time in 13 years because, in his words, 'you only turn 25 once'.
Good news is you managed to make him limit the guest list to the team and other people close to you like Maria Hill and Fury. Bad news is you’re still gonna be the center of attention, which you hate.
You couldn’t stop Tony from making everyone dress up for the party, and you couldn’t stop the team from getting you gifts even though you insisted all you wanted was everyone together and to have fun with them since for the longest time nobody ever even knew when your birthday was.
What you didn’t realize was that the only person more worried than you about your gifts was Bucky.
Since he joined the team the two of you have gotten close, starting with his first training with the team where he very loudly told Steve about his disbelief that someone as young and small as you could actually be an asset to the team.
You quickly put him in his place by taking him down after less than two minutes of sparring, taking full advantage of his underestimating you because he “didn’t want to hurt a pretty little thing like you.”
Admittedly he was impressed and wasn’t shy about letting you know that, while the rest of the team snickered at his initial shock when you pinned him down.
You became friends after that, not as close as you’d like but friends nonetheless.
If you were honest with yourself you’ve been harboring a little crush on the supersoldier, but he’s never shown any interest so you resigned yourself to just being his friend.
Something that you did come to treasure, though, is your and Bucky’s late night talks.
It started with you walking in on him in the kitchen on a late night where you couldn’t sleep, nothing new to you, but the two of you barely talked other than acknowledging each other.
You took a bottle of water and left.
A couple of days later you ran into him again and you stood there in silence while you made yourself a cup of tea and then left for your room.
A few days later again he was just sitting there and said nothing as you made your tea, except this time you put a cup in front of him and silently took a seat next to him at the counter.
Two nights later when you arrived at the kitchen he was already there with a cup of tea in front of him and one in front of the seat next to him.
You didn’t want to assume it was for you, but you took a chance when you noticed it was the cup you always used, a blue mug with Stitch on it that says “Let’s get weird”. Your favorite in fact.
You hesitantly sat down next to him and, without you having to ask or without even looking at you, he told you that the nights you stay up late because you can’t sleep you tend to be more quiet during the team dinners and while you hang out afterwards.
You didn’t say anything in return and just sat there, trying not to overthink how much he seemed to watch you.
But the more nights you spent like that, the more you two talked and you gathered quickly that Bucky is a very observant person, nothing more.
You loved the time you spent together after dark where you’d talk about everything and anything, but come morning it was almost as if it never happened, which you came to accept.
It weirdly made the nights you spent talking even more special, which was almost every night.
But back to the present, you’re currently getting ready with Natasha and Wanda, who know much more than you about hair and makeup and are always happy to help you out with getting ready for Stark parties.
You put on the black cocktail dress with rhinestones all over the corset and a slit down the left side, then the three of you make your way to the party room and you take a deep breath before entering.
Everyone is already there, all dressed up in fancy clothes as they all shout “Happy Birthday”.
You laugh and say hi to everybody while they all take turns hugging you, there’s not too many people but everyone important to you is there.
Even Laura and Clint’s kids are there, which you consider a second family at this point, since Laura always did treat you like a daughter.
You hate to admit that it's a nice party.
Knowing you, everyone makes an effort to not put you too much at the center of attention and you just go around talking to your friends like every other party.
Eventually time comes for the cake and, the moment you kind of dreaded, opening the gifts.
Since it's the first birthday you allowed the team to celebrate everyone decided to go all in for your gifts, which you picked up on from the very first gift you open.
Pietro got you a first edition of “The Picture Of Dorian Gray” which is your all time favorite book, Wanda and Maria got you a leather jacket and an amazing pair of boots that you knew were expensive because you were all out shopping together when you came across them.
Steve got you a gold heart-shaped locker with a picture of the team inside it, Natasha got you a charm bracelet with a little charm to represent everyone on the team, and Sam got you a cute necklace with your birth stone on it.
When you open Fury’s gift you start laughing since it's a gun, a SIG SAUER P226 to be precise, which is very Fury.
“It was my first gun when I joined SHIELD.” He says with a smile and you smile back, knowing how much thought he put into this gift.
You open Clint’s gift next, a bow and arrow that he already taught you how to use, and Laura got you a pair of diamond earrings.
Your heart melts when you open Lila, Cooper and Nathaniel’s gifts, respectively a friendship bracelet, an Avengers action figure of yourself and a Stitch plushie.
The three of them hug you tightly as you say thank you and now you only have two gifts left, Tony’s and Bucky’s, and they’re both little boxes.
You open Tony’s next, thinking it’s some fancy necklace or earring but you frown when you see a car key.
“Is this the key to your car?” you ask Tony, knowing full well you’re holding the key to an Audi R8 Spyder, the car Tony’s let you borrow so many times you’re now wondering if he’s gifting you his spare set of keys.
“No.” He says casually “It’s the key to your car.”
You’re even more confused and simply stare at him with your mouth gaped, not really processing the information.
“Y-you… You got me a car?!” You almost yell out of shock and everyone else starts laughing at your antics when you start basically jumping up and down and hugging Tony, squealing like a little girl.
“Well, come on, let’s go see it!” Tony says enthusiastically after you’ve calmed down, and you get up, just as enthusiastic, but are stopped by Steve’s voice.
“Wait, wait. You have one gift left.” He says, picking up the small box and giving it to you. “It’s from Bucky.”
You were so pumped up by the car, you almost forgot about it and completely miss the mischievous look Steve gives Bucky and the murderous glare Bucky gives back.
You also miss Bucky starting to protest before you open his gift, but he instantly shuts up when he sees your face falling the second you open it.
It’s a small necklace with a blue rose in it, it really looks like something you’d give a little girl more than a 25 year old woman.
You look at it for a minute, running your finger on it before you raise your head and look at Bucky.
The whole room goes silent as they all watch you worriedly, everyone noticing immediately that tears are streaming down your face.
Nobody understands what’s happening and nobody knows how to react or what to do, it’s like they’re all frozen by the sight of you being vulnerable for the first time ever.
Meanwhile Bucky’s heart is beating so loud he’s sure everyone around him can hear it, and he feels himself starting to panic at the thought of having ruined your birthday with that stupid gift.
Everybody else got you expensive gifts and all he did was get you a small, cheap necklace that reminded him of a story you briefly talked about once on one of your late night talks about a necklace you had as a kid.
He saw it at the mall while looking for a gift for you, remembering the sweet smile you had on your face when you mentioned it and the fleeting sad look he thought he saw when you told him you lost it when you were 12.
He was really proud of himself for that gift, but the more he saw the other gifts you got the more he regretted his choice, especially after Tony gave you a fucking car.
And now you were crying, not saying anything while just looking at him.
He doesn’t know what to expect from you at the moment, nobody does, he thinks you might yell, throw his gift back at him, tell him how much you hate it and him.
But you surprise everyone by throwing your arms around Bucky’s neck, hugging him tightly while crying into his shoulder.
You honestly forgot telling Bucky about that story and certainly didn’t expect him to remember it, especially since you always got the feeling that he didn’t care about your talks as much as you.
You just assumed that come morning he deleted everything you told him to make room for more important things, and you didn’t blame him.
But he didn’t.
What you didn’t tell him about the necklace is that your mom gave it to you because blue roses were her favorite, you had that necklace since you were born but you somehow lost it the day of her funeral.
That day you lost the two most important things in your life and cried yourself to sleep, and that was the last time you allowed yourself to be weak and cry.
Until today.
Bucky hesitantly wraps his arms around you, rubbing your back hoping to get you to calm down. He looks around at the rest of the team, panicking a little and not knowing what to do.
Everyone else is as clueless as he is, never having seen you in such a state before.
Bucky starts apologizing, his heart breaking at the sight of you crying, and he feels horrible that it’s because of him.
You shake your head quickly and pull away a little to look at him, wanting to reassure him you’re not sad or angry but incredibly happy, but words refuse to come. You take a deep breath to calm yourself and finally manage to speak.
“Thank you. You have no idea how much this means to me.” It’s quiet, but it’s something, and it’s enough to make Bucky let out a breath of relief at knowing you don’t hate him or his gift.
He brings you back in for another tight hug, almost forgetting about everyone else in the room as you hug him back without hesitation.
You’re honestly not even embarrassed at crying, all you care about at the moment is Bucky, his arms around you while he lets you bury your face in his neck, like you’ve been wanting to do for years now.
“Happy birthday, doll.” He whispers in your ear and, for the first time in 13 years, you really feel like it is.

We Saved Each Other (Part Six)

Summary: Natasha is finally able to become your legal guardian, the problem is she wants to be more than that. She wants to be your mother
Word Count: 2.8k
Parings: (Kid!Reader x Mama!Natasha) (Kid!Reader x Barton Family) (Natasha x Clint) (Natasha x Fury)
Warnings/Content: some crying and some fluff
————
“Sign here please” Natasha swiped her pen over the dotted lines again “and last one just here” finally, she thought, this had taken much longer than she had hoped. “Congratulations” the blonde lady said, dressed head to toe in the smartest suit you had ever seen “you’re now y/n y/l/n’s official guardian” Mrs Williams said to Natasha as she moved her glasses from her nose to her head. The ex widow had now been a US citizen for 13 months, meaning she was finally able to become your legal guardian, meaning you would be staying with Natasha for a long time (you hoped it would be forever.) “yay” you called up from your chair, right next to Nat’s of course. She pulled you up onto her lap and held you close as Fury saw the older woman out. “Are you my mommy now?” You innocently asked “well not quite darling” Natasha said, causing you to frown “I’m your guardian which means it’s my job to look after you, but of course I will be your mommy as long as you want me to be” she explained “I wants you to be my mommy forever!” You beamed as you threw your arms around the redhead.
Natasha thought on what you had said for next week, wondering if she was really worthy of being a mother, being your mother. She thought about it throughout your many movie marathons, you were simply enchanted by the magic of classic Disney movies. She thought about it while you were cuddled together watching Mulan and long after you had fallen asleep watching Cinderella. “Mama” you called from Natasha’s lap, pulling her back to reality “the movie stopped” you whined “I think it’s finished y/n, are you ready for bed or do you wanna watch something else?” Your mom asked. You thought long and hard, a movie night could hardly be over after 2 films but you were oh so tired “finding nemo” you said through a yawn “again!” Nat feigned her exaggeration “we’ve already seen it 3 times this week!” You giggled as she mumbled her words into your tummy “it’s my favourite!” You laughed as you removed Natasha’s head and held it in your hands. She gently twisted towards your palm to leave a soft kiss “alright then baby, but after that it’s bedtime okay?” She said “ok mommy” you huffed.
Going to bed that night, Natasha continued to think about her role in your life. Each time you called her ‘mama’ the crack in her heart seemed to heal a little more. All those years of hurt had started to become distance memories rather than present thoughts that plagued her mind. You were rescuing her from herself without knowing it but a constant questioned remained; could she build a sustainable life with you? All the ex widow had ever known was killing and stealth, the real world was still so new to her too. Being a mother was a choice that was taken away from her and Natasha had accepted it so long ago, but now with you, everything had changed. Natasha couldn’t promise you a safe future, her list of enemies was too long to comprehend, she would always be a target. How could she live with herself if she were to put the same target on your back. But if there was one thing Natasha could promise you, it was love. It was that you would be loved so deep and true that you’d never forget it. She couldn’t replace your past or erase the memories, but she could build new ones. Filled with happiness and joy something she so desperately graved and something that you do desperately deserved.
The morning arrived before Natasha could even close her eyes and an exciting day laid ahead, the start of giving you memories filled with happiness and joy. “What if Cooper and Lila don’t like me?” You asked your mom, hiding behind the car door “oh y/n, how could anyone not like you!” Natasha said “I’m sure you’re gonna be the best of friends” she continued before taking a hold of your shaking hand. You joined Nat in knocking lightly on the wooden door, the large two story house looked so plain on the outside, but when the door opened a stream of colour and laughter caking roaring through. “Hey you two!” Clint said as he gave Nat a quick embrace “it’s good to see you y/n” you responded with your usual high-five “Laura” Clint called after rising to his height again “the girls are here” you stepped across a large welcome mat, signed with four handprints, and managed to take off your shoes with a little help from mommy. “Nat” said a soft voice from behind the corner. You watched as a tall beautiful brunette came into your vision “how are you my darling” she asked Natasha, who simply gave a nod “and this must be y/n” said the woman towards you. You moved behind Natasha slightly, using her frame to shield you. The two woman came down to your level “y/n this is Laura” Natasha said “she’s married to Clint and she’s one of my best friends” you looked between them both, trusting by Natasha’s eyes that Mrs Barton was safe “it’s wonderful to meet you sweetheart” Laura said as she held out her hand to you “hi” you whispered as you connected your palm to her own rather cautiously.
“Would you like to come and meet my children?” Laura asked as she held out her hand again. With a gentle nod and pat from Natasha you were lead further into the large cabin where you came into a room filled top to bottom with books art supplies and toys “y/n this is my son, Cooper” Laura said as she waved over her kids “and my daughter Lila” the pair said their hello’s and you politely waved back “Lila here is a few months older than you, I think you’ll get along very well, and Cooper is a great big brother, he’ll look after you both if you need anything” the older boy had already returned to his Lego set while Lila came to stand next to you “do you want to come see my new dollhouse” she asked. You looked back in search of Natasha and found her in the doorway with Laura “I’ll be in the kitchen if you need me ok darling” she softly spoke “ok mama” you replied. Once the adults had dispersed Lila came right to your side “I didn’t know auntie Nat was your mommy!” She exclaimed “does that mean you’re my cousin? Mine and Coopers cousin?” Lila beamed “what’s a cousin?” You asked, you had never heard of one before and feared it was something awful to be known as “well it means we’re the best of friends, closer than bff’s can ever be!” Lila came to give you a big hug, and at first it took you by surprise, you didn’t allow physical contact with anyone other than Natasha. But Lila’s hug felt nice, you had never had a cousin before and felt excited that she would be your first.
After a few hours of play, Laura called you for dinner “but mommy I wanted to take y/n on the swings!” Lila huffed “maybe after dinner sweetheart, why don’t you show y/n to the dining room?” Laura suggested. The loss of your crafts and make believe games was soon forgotten as the smell of fresh bread seeped into your senses. “Here y/n, come sit next to me” Lila said as she pulled back a chair for you. You settled well considering Natasha’s chair was on your side. Dinner was going by smoothly until Lila’s curiosity got the better of her. “Auntie Nat?” She called passed you “if your Y/N’s mom, why have I never met her before if she’s the same age as me?” Lila innocently asked “well y/n and I haven’t known each other very long you see” Natasha said “what do you mean?” Lila replied “I’ve only been looking after y/n for a few months, since we first met” your mom said as she helped you grab another roasted potato “you only met each other months ago? So you aren’t y/n’s real mom then?” Lila meant no harm, she was just confused. But hearing her say that Natasha wasn’t really your mom hurt. “Well not biologically, which means we aren’t actually related, but I can still be her mom for as long as she wants me to be” Nat said, looking down at you with a smile at the end of her sentence. “But she’s not your actual daughter?” The little brunette asked again “Lila honey” Laura spoke up “do you want to come and help me with dessert?” She said in order to defuse the accidental tension.
You stayed quiet for the rest of the evening, opting to say you had a small tummy ache to avoid going out to the swings with Lila and Cooper. You sat contently with Natasha until it was finally time to leave “thank you so much for coming y/n it was so nice to meet you! We’ll have to sort out a play date for you and Lila hey?” Laura smiled as she helped you into your coat “thanks Laura” Natasha said taking hold of your hand and leading you back to the car. “Bye bye y/n!” Lila called from the doorframe, you managed a small wave back. Natasha hummed along to the radio the whole journey back, flashing you worried glances here and there. You still had your quiet moments and they usually meant that something was bothering you. “Y/n?” She softly asked to get your attention “are you ok sweetheart?” Her emerald eyed remained on you as she came to a red light. “Yes” you whispered, and Natasha knew you meant no but she didn’t ever like to push you to talk. “How about when we get home we have another movie night? I know those are your favourites” Natasha suggested “no thank you” you replied “why not darling? Don’t you wanna spend some time with mama?” Nat smiled at you as the car paused at a red light. “You’re not my mama” you whispered into the window. Natasha sat in shock, only remembering to move the car again when the driver behind gave a harsh hit on his horn “baby” she sighed as the car rolled forward again “that’s what Lila said” you mumbled into your closed fist. The widow understood now why you were so upset and the idea in her head was solidified.
“Are you sure about this?” Nick asked as he placed down the papers in front of him “I’ve never been more sure of anything Fury” Natasha said “and you feel you’ve adjusted enough to this…lifestyle?” The Director continued “I know there’s still a journey to be had, but with her by my side I know I can do it” the redhead spoke through shaky breaths “you know what this means don’t you?” Fury said “you wouldn’t be able to stay here, and we can’t support you outside of your work with us, you’ll be on your own” he sighed “no they won’t” Clint added “we’re converting our barn, the girls will live there and we will support them until they’re on their feet” he finished. “Ok, I’ll contact Mrs Williams first thing” Nick said. Natasha let out the breath she didn’t realise she had been holding “thank you” she whispered as Clint guided her out of the directors office. “Did you mean what you said?” Nat asked “about the barn, because you know we don’t have to I’m sure we can find somewhere” she began to trail off as Clint raised his hand to her shoulder “of course I meant it Natasha, Laura and I would love you to be our neighbours” he finished as he pulled his best friend into a warm hug.
You woke up with your back facing Natasha, just as you had fell asleep. You craved her embrace, to feel her warmth soak into your skin. But Lila’s words were on repeat in your head. The last few days had been tough on both you and Nat, the two of you not really spending much time together. You had wanted to give in so many times but feared she would reject you, as she wasn’t really your mom. You rubbed your tired eyes and reached for your water bottle, only to find it empty. All of your emotions came pouring out of you as another inconvenience was too much to take. You rolled over with tears in your eyes hoping to be met with Natasha’s green ones. But her side of the bed was cold, the duvet hanging at the bottom of the bed. You let out a loud sob, feeling all the weight of the world on your shoulders. You wanted to scream for your mommy but it didn’t feel right anymore. You shuffled down off the bed, grabbing your stuffy and running to the door. You made your way to the kitchen, where usually the smell of pancakes would’ve excited you. You saw a flash of red hair and sped to the legs attached. Natasha jumped, almost dropping the fresh strawberry she had just picked up from the bowl. “Hey angel” she cheerfully said, but her expression changed when she heard your small sobs “oh baby wasn’t wrong?” She asked. “I’m sorry” you sobbed “I’m sorry I don’t care what Lila says I just want you to be my mommy. Please will you still be my mommy I’m sorry” you clawed at Natasha’s trousers, wiping your stuffy nose on her knee “hey hey baby girl” Nat said as she crouched down to face you “you have nothing to be sorry for y/n, I’m still your mommy baby girl, I always will be for as long as you want me to be” she cooed as she wiped your falling tears “but it’s not real is it” you cried. “Sweetheart come here” Nat scooped you up into her arms and brought you to sit on the couch, taking a second to make sure everything in the kitchen was turned off.
Once settled into the redheads lap, you continued to pull at her shirt afraid she would disappear if you let go. “Y/n look at me” Natasha began “you know that what Lila said isn’t true, family isn’t always about blood and genetics. Family is in here” she said as she placed her hand over your heart “and no body can ever tell you what’s in your heart. Sometimes beautiful things can come from bad situations and people can connect in all different ways. You don’t need to be related to call someone family. You don’t need a piece of paper to call someone your daughter. But if that’s what you want y/n…” you looked up into Natasha’s eyes as she paused “I have a surprise for you, if you want it?” She asked “what is it?” You asked back, finally drying your eyes. “Would you like me to adopt you?” Nat whispered, afraid you had changed your mind. “Like be my proper mommy?” You mumbled “no baby, I’ll always be your proper mommy, but if I adopt you then the world will call us a family too, we can be together forever” Natasha smiled as you stared up at her, a glimmer of hope in both of your eyes. “Will you adopt me please mommy?” You asked “of course baby” Natasha giggled, pulling you into the tightest hug ever as she began to cry herself “I love you y/n” she cooed into your hairline “I love you too mommy”.
“Sign here please” Natasha swiped her pen over the dotted lines again “and last one just here” finally, she thought, this had taken much longer than she had hoped. “Congratulations” the blonde lady said, dressed head to toe in the smartest suit you had ever seen “Miss y/n Romanoff you are officially adopted by Natasha Romanoff” Mrs Williams said to Natasha as she moved her glasses from her nose to her head. The ex widow had now been a US citizen for 15 months, and she had finally become your mother, meaning you would be staying with Natasha forever. “yay” you called up from your chair, right next to mamas of course. She pulled you up onto her lap and held you close as Fury saw the older woman out. “Are we going to uncle Clint’s now?” You innocently asked “very soon darling” Natasha said, causing you to frown slightly “hey, I’m sure we’ll be there before you even know it. We’ll get all our things packed up and maybe go to the store and pick you out some things for your new room. And very soon you’ll be able to see your cousins as much as you want!” she explained “I can’t wait! I’m so happy you get to be my mommy forever!” You beamed as you threw your arms around the redhead.

Charles Leclerc x Schumacher Daughter!
Part 3 - maybe some racing inaccuracy’s? Deep talk about loss and semi trauma?! Lila and Charles connect basically on the first date but it’s slowly burning so no kissing just yet…
Tumblr media
Charles: maybe Tennis isn’t such a good idea? Charles: how about we go to that sangria bar next to the hotel, tonight? Or is that bad timing? Charles had text me the Tuesday after their race in Spain. Since getting his number we’d texted often, just talking about lighthearted things really- mainly Tennis, the one thing both of us could turn to as a conversation starter. I knew exactly why he didn’t think Tennis was such a good idea, there’d been leaked pictures of me playing alongside Justine, Mick’s girlfriend, leaking not only my privacy but hers and the old hotel location we were at. You would be surprised with how many people were strange enough to turn up.
So that’s how we ended tucked away in the most private Sangria bar known to Spain. We were given an abundance of breadsticks and the whole thing felt like a whole dream.
“Maybe I should change your name on my phone to Lord Perceval.” I narrowed my eyes playfully to Charles as I sipped on the sweet alcohol in my glass. I praised the Sangria in my system for ridding the nerves that previously filled my body. I was a complete wreck before meeting Charles, the fact I had to sneak out of the hotel only made things feel 10x more intense.
“That is so embarrassing.” He sniggered as I giggled back down to the table. “I need a- what do you call it a name? A nick- nickname?” He asked. “A nickname.” I nodded. “I need a nickname for you, what can I call you? Charles asked.
“Whatever you wanna call me, I don’t have many nicknames. Lila is short enough, I got Liles from my papa for a while.” It had been a long time since I heard that name. It felt nice to talk about it as I glanced back up to Charles, seeing his eyes already fixated on me. “Lila Liles. That’s what I got.”
“Lila-Liles.” Charles smiled as I giggled. “I like that one.”
“Or I got Lilo for a while, like you know… ah, how do I say it, an inflatable?” He looked instantly confused. “Inflatable?” He slowly spelt out. “Um I can’t think of it in French, you know, one of those inflatable beds that go in the pool.”
“Oh yes! Yes! A lilo. Lilo? I like that one better!” He touched my hand gently, letting out the most angelic laugh as I felt my chest tighten. He seemed perfect in every single sense, I almost couldn’t believe I was sat right next to him. This beat playing tennis any day.
“Great, Lilo it is.” I snickered as he already began changing my contact name on his phone to Lilo Liles. Despise it sounding like some kind of disease, Charles seemed amused, and the fact he’d created his own form of a nickname for me warmed something deep inside me I didn’t know was possible.
“You know, I’ve always had a soft spot for Ferrari.” I admitted after a few more conversations. “I think I told you that when I first met you, but I’m always rooting for your team.”
“Really?” Charles smiled, resting his hand on his knuckle. He was super intrigued in the conversation, listening and watching attentively. I don’t think I’d ever felt so heard in my whole life until now. The empty Sangria glasses had been long forgotten as we emerged in every topic thinkable.
“Yeah, some of the first things I remember is watching the races of my dad when I was little- for Ferrari obviously.” I explained. A
“Me too, I mean. Watching your dad race for Ferrari, I met him once!” “Oh, really?!” I lit up as he nodded eagerly. “When I was karting, he spent some time with us, I still have the things he signed of mine.” He shyly admitted, scratching the back of his neck. “And now you’re driving for Ferrari.” I pointed out as he bashfully smiled.
“My dad still watches. He always watches F1, I know he’s looking out for you and Carlos in Ferrari.” I firmed as Charles’ eyes softened, scanning over my face in awe at what I was saying. “Not the best season for him to watch me in.” He forced a laugh at himself, picking at the table slightly.
“Well if you ask me it’s completely not your fault… blame the strategist.” Charles smirked at my words. “My dad would agree, I’m sure he would.”
“Well that makes me feel better.” He nodded. “How about your dad, did he used to race?”
“He raced in Formula 3, he’s the reason why I got into racing in the first place. But ah- he passed away a couple years ago now. 2017.” Charles hesitated and I felt my heart tighten. Maybe I shouldn’t have asked that.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I had no idea.” I borderline panicked, which he must’ve heard in my voice. He looked up with a wider smile, but I could still see that very hint of sadness in his eyes, I knew because I could see it in my own, I felt it.
“Don’t be.” He touched my hand with his own, resting it there. “I like talking about him any way, it’s nice.”
“I know what you mean, we cant just forget people.” I glanced down slightly, the soft of his touch melting its way through to my heart. I’d never clicked with somebody so quick in my life, I hope I wasn’t getting ahead of myself, but this all felt so intimate. He was hesitant to move his touch away, still he only kept his hand a mere inch or two away from mine. For the first time I felt like I had stopped fidgeting in my life.
“Exactly.”
“I’m sure he’s super proud of you as well.” I then commented as another bashful smile grew on his face. “I did tell him I signed to ah- Formula 1 before he passed, that was a lie… well it kinda turned out to be true.” He laughed gently as I made eye contact, holding a smile. “Well at least it turned out not to be a lie.” I shrugged.
“Yeah. Anyway, I am sorry this is all sad, I should change the topic.” He openly spoke. “No it’s okay! It’s nice to talk about your dad, I love talking about mine- as long as it’s not with the media.” I chuckled. “Ah yes, you do a good job of keeping so- what is the word- private.” “I’ve been slacking recently…”
As the conversation continued, we chatted way into the night, right up until the bar was closing and his leg was somehow pressed right up against mine under the table. Neither of us acknowledged it, but it’s almost like we were playing a game of footsies, my stomach on literal fire anytime his foot would brush against my own.
“It’s quiet… do you want to go on a walk?” Charles asked once we’d paid and left. I was left red in the face when he insisted he’d pay, I’d never had that before. Not with any of my boyfriends.
“Yeah.” I spoke gently as I walked closely besides him. “Is it French that you speak then?” I asked as he nodded. “Ah, French and Italian. Can you speak any?” “Oui!” I exclaimed, nodding. I’d been too nervous to speak French to him before, I was pretty fluent, but some of my pronunciations I’m sure was twisted by my German and English. “Tu parles français?!” (You speak French?!) I giggled hearing the accent change from the native speaker, he sounded completely different when he spoke French, I liked it.
“Oui, et allemand. Is that how I say it? German? Allemand?” I nervously spoke as he looked excited over the fact I could speak his native language. “Allemand, Oui.” He fixed my pronunciation ever so slightly.
”My pronunciation isn't the best.” I sheepishly admitted. “No, no it’s ok.” He reassured.
”Doit-on faire le reste de la date en français?” (Should we do the rest of this date in French?” Date. My chest tightened and although I knew what this already was, hearing it leave his lips made me all giddy inside. “Si vous souhaitez.” (If you would like). “I will lose my French at some point thought.” I nervously giggled. “I’ve never been on a date before.” My shoulder bumped into his accidentally, hands clashing as Charles dramatically froze on the spot. “Never?!” He exclaimed.
“Never.” I nodded, tilting my head up to look at him. “This is your first date?!” He repeated as I nodded. “I have had boyfriends but… no first date like this first.”
“My god.” He ran his hand down the back of his head, sounding a mock stressed. “I would have made it more uh- special if I knew that!” His words softened my heart as I peered up to him as we began walking again. “No, no, I’ve had fun, I like doing things like this.” I nodded firmly as he smiled back to me. “We’ll do it again?” His brows perked slightly, feeling his fingers brush over mine as he slid his hand into mine. “We will.” Charles Leclerc you will be the death of me…

Tangerine first sees the inside of your flat with a bullet in his shoulder and blood dripping down his chest. This is, honestly, about how he expected it to go. Par for the course with your relationship so far.
Your penchant for popping up during his jobs hasn’t died down. Though, for the first time, he’s truly thankful for it - if you hadn't arrived in the nick of time to cover him from the gunfire, the bullet might have ended up in a far more dire place.
He’s half slung over you, his good arm wrapped around your shoulder while you awkwardly unlock your front door. Clearly neither of you are ecstatic he’s ending up here, but he's injured and it will have to do.
“Come on, let’s plonk you on the couch,” you say, kicking the door closed behind you and manoeuvring him over to the loveseat. It’s quite old and worn and you’ve thrown some IKEA blankets over to try and hide how knackered it is. Tangerine tries to ignore the fact he’s about to add to the shabby-chic nature by bleeding all over it.
“Fucking hell, easy. I’ve been shot,” he snaps, as you indelicately deposit him onto the seat.
“You sound fine to me,” you reply as you head over to your kitchenette to grab a first aid kit from one of the cabinets. When you return, you nod to the hole in his shoulder. “I need to see it.”
For a moment, he falters.
“You want me to…”
“Take your shirt off,” you finish, then look at him from the corner of your eye, “or shall I take you out to dinner first? You not that kind of boy, Tan?”
Tangerine obliges quickly. He can’t have you think you’re flustering him. But, when you gently take his shoulder in your hand so you can check if the bullet has gone all the way through, he finds himself swallowing hard.
“Right, it’s still in there I’m afraid. I’ll dig it out and patch it for you.”
“You know what you’re doing?”
“I’ve de-bulleted myself before.”
Yeah. Both him and Lemon have been there before. Half the people in the business have, probably.
You seem to know your stuff, cleaning the wound carefully before you start to lay out a professional-looking set of tools which would be more at home in an operating theatre than in an east London flat.
“What are those, surgical tweezers?” Tangerine asks, surprised. You don’t look him in the eye as you go to start extracting the bullet.
“They’re actually a matterlad.”
Tangerine furrows his brow.
“What’s a matterlad?”
“Nothing lad, what’s a matter with you?” you ask, deadpan, and he’s so immediately furious to have fallen for such an obvious trick he barely feels you reaching into his shoulder to pull the shrapnel out.
“You really boil my piss sometimes.”
“I certainly do my best,” you reply, leaving the bloody scrap of metal on top of a coaster on your coffee table. Once more you disinfect the wound, then carefully start the process of stitching him up. Tangerine winces a bit as the needle bites his skin but says nothing.
Across your flat, a door is bumped open. Tangerine goes for his gun, expecting a pursuer to have followed him here…
… then he sees the cat plodding its way into your living room. It’s white, and fluffy, and only has three legs. It regards him with utter contempt before heading over to its empty food bowl and starts shrieking at you.
“Yes, I know,” you call. It meows again.
“Of course you have a fucking cat.”
“Don’t you bring my cat into this, she’s not done anything to you. If you hate me, you hate me.”
Tangerine is about to bite back about cats being one of the most entitled creatures on God’s green earth, but your words give him pause.
“I don’t hate you.”
You open your mouth to say something back, but just close it instead. You settle on bandaging the wound in silence. Tangerine takes the time to look around your home. There’s prints crowded together on the wall, probably by some poncy artist who he’s never heard of. A couple of vintage movie posters are blu-tacked up, too, with the corners beginning to look a bit tattered; like you’ve taken them down and put them up over and over. There’s a woven rug underneath your coffee table, and you’ve shoved a folded up magazine under one of its legs to correct a wonkiness. In the corner of the room is a record player. Of course. Of course you have a fucking record player.
Eventually the quiet is overbearing. Tangerine feels like he might have said something to upset you, which is stupid because he hasn’t, and even if he did he shouldn’t care… but he finds himself trying to make up for it anyway.
“What’s your cat’s name, then?”
You glance over your shoulder, and the cat meows again, as if indignant you have someone else in your flat.
“... You can’t laugh.”
“I’m not promising that.”
You purse your lips, and consider this for a moment, before quietly admitting:
“Amélie.”
Tangerine immediately bursts out laughing.
“Oh, fuck off - !”
“See, this is why I didn’t want to tell you!”
Finished with your work patching him up, you head over and scoop Amélie up in your arms, burying your face in her fur.
“Don’t listen to the bastard man, darling. You’re perfect.”
As if she can tell what you’re saying, she begins to purr. Tangerine has to squash down the tiny bit of himself feeling jealousy because a cat gets to press up against you.
“Didn’t peg you for a pet owner.”
You shrug.
“I found her while I was finishing a job up in Manchester. They’d locked her in a cupboard. She was so skinny…”
You trail off, a sort of odd, faraway look in your eyes. You play with one of her paws.
“Took ages to get the blood out of her fur,” you sigh, and just for a moment Tangerine is struck with just how human you can be, how kind, and how rare that is with people in this profession. Even himself.
His phone buzzes, and he checks it immediately, hoping to hide the redness his face has taken on. It’s Lemon, checking he’s okay. He fires off a text to reassure his brother that he’s fine, give or take some gunfire; and doesn’t mention whose apartment he’s at.
“So now what?” you ask, having given Amélie her dinner and come to sit down on the sofa next to him. “You heading off?”
He takes a long look at you. The way white cat fur has stuck to your shirt. The remnants of his blood under your fingernails.
“What else would I do?”
You lick your lips.
“You could stay.”
And when he leans in to kiss you, you kiss him right back.

Lilia Vanrouge x GN!Reader
Word Count Tumblr: 1k+

This was just Lilia being in a silly goofy mood and I thought it would be cool to share with everyone <3

You looked at Lilia with wide eyes as he hung from the ceiling in front of you, a wide mischievous grin was plastered on his pale face as a slender finger tapped his cheek. “Well, does it all make sense now? Do you believe that I am a vampire of legend?” He asked as you pressed your now sweaty palms against the soft blankets of his bed.
You came over after befriending Lilia within the week of your arrival in Twisted Wonderland. After months of spending time together and growing closer you agreed to come over to Diasomnia. How could you say no to spending time with the eccentric baby faced student? He’s too cute and charming to deny! Lilia had originally intended to show you his ‘Pog Gamer Setup’ that he had in his dorm room, but instead had a deep dark secret to share with you. It was that he was in fact: A real vampire. Hundreds of years old, sleeps upside down, can turn into a bat and survives on blood.
And you believe him.
But why wouldn’t you? If there are dog boys and dragons why can’t there be a vampire on campus? You were speechless as your eyes remained locked with Lilia’s raspberry red. “So… You really do drink blood?” You asked, feeling stunned as Lilia flipped around to float back onto the floor, his back facing you as he hummed softly in thought. “Well, I don’t need it as often as you may think, but I haven’t had any human blood in quite some time.” He turned his head to face you, cupping his chin with a grin as he eyed you up and down. “But here is a human right before me, heart pumping millions of cells I could slurp right up to satiate my hunger.” His tone was sweeter than caramel and you could feel the pace of your heart begin to quicken. “Oh? Did that excite you? I can smell your blood much stronger now.” He purred and inched closer, his long cape flowing behind his much smaller body.
As if they were leathery bat wings ready to unfold and take him into the air.
You could feel your cheeks start to sting from the intense burn of blood rushing into your face as Lilia stood inches away from you, reaching out to slide his ice cold hands over the warmth of your cheeks. He really is a vampire… “Would you mind if I had a bite? It’s been so long since I’ve had human blood to drink. I’m sorry to take advantage of you this way, but help an old friend out in his time of need?” He asked as his large round eyes fell half-lidded. “This poor little bat truly is starving for a taste.” His voice was soft as he leaned in with your head held firmly in place. You couldn’t help but gasp as his lips brushed over yours. A kiss? Wasn’t he after your blood?
His sharp fangs suddenly nicked your lower lip and he cautiously began to suck as you felt the skin break. The penny tasting blood dripped over your own tongue as Lilia kissed the wound with a smirk. “Did that hurt you?” He asked in a ghostly whisper as you sheepishly shook your head. It didn’t hurt enough for you to complain at least. “Good. This might.” He warned playfully as his grip abandoned your face, instead he grabbed you by the shoulders. Lila’s cheek brushed against yours, his tongue rolled over your neck as you let out a whine. “Oh my… I’m only going to bite you.” His voice tickled against the sensitive skin of your throat and you whimpered, grabbing onto the fabric of his cape as his weight began to press against you. Lilia may be small, but he was heavy.
His soft tongue attacked a soft area near your jaw line and he peppered gentle kisses against the area. You couldn’t help but blush at the feeling, anxiously awaiting the feeling of his fangs to sink into your throat. You soon found yourself laying against the Vice Housewarden’s bed, his weight on top of you as his long cape obstructed the view of his door. It was strategic, no one who suddenly walked in would see you beneath him. You yelped, feeling his fangs graze over the skin and Lilia’s breath ghost over the spot he was pampering. “Now, now, I haven’t even tasted you yet. Try your best to keep your voice down. If Silver or Sebek hear such strange sounds… They won’t hesitate to fling open my door.” He whispered into your throat as his teeth pressed into your skin and you could feel him sucking on your flesh. It wasn’t the same as when he bit down on your lip, it was much more tame. But you knew he was drinking your blood. You let out another soft whine, your grip on Lilia’s cloak only tightened. Your knuckles were white as your heart did flips behind your ribcage. You were sure Lilia could feel it. It felt like hours as your legs began to shake, your face was so hot from him kissing and sucking your neck you thought you might pass out. Or maybe that was the blood loss? With a final gasp being yanked out of you Lilia pulled away, sitting up on his arms to admire you from above. You expected a much more terrifying sight, blood to be smeared across the ‘vampires’ face. But instead his cheeks were as flushed as yours.
Maybe he’s just not a messy eater?
Lilia’s dazed expression slowly melted into puffed cheeks as he tried to hold in a laugh. “My goodness… You’re as naive as poor Sebek.” He pulled away with a chuckle and swiped his thumb over your lower lip. Your eyes widened as you let go of his cloak, a hand shot to your neck as your stomach dropped. “Think of that new mark as a punishment for being so gullible. You need to be more careful.” He sighed with a shake of his head. Your hands were shaking as you realized he had just given you a hickey. A sizable one at that. “What if I had told you I was an Incubus?” Your only response was to grab a pillow and throw it square in Lilia’s face.

Paris Reacts to Nature is No Picnic Up Close
Tumblr media
Akuma Class
After the past two weeks, with no TV or electronic devices, the class finally found a way to watch Total Drama Island. While on their usual walk at the shopping mall, they found a little restaurant that is called Addict Yourself. A restaurant that has every single electronic device the world has ever had. They even have DVRs for those who want to catch up on movies and episodes of their favorite shows that they might have missed. It was like they all had died and went to heaven. Adrien could never forget the time he and his friends watched the third episode of the show.
As they all got together to watch the third episode, they were shocked and surprised to learn about Lucy and the chained kunai debacle. When they hear about Lucy's family not doing technology, they are completely shocked. "Then what does she do for fun?" "Does she stare at the wall or something?" "How does she even talk to her friends?" "Why can't her family do technology like us?" Even Adrien couldn't believe that the Corleones don't do technology, he was even afraid to tell his father that.
When they finished the third episode and moved on to the fourth one, they were shocked and happy that Marinette was now a member of the MetaBetas. Even Adrien was proud of her. He was so proud that he wanted to tell the world that his friend was now a member of a popular idol group. Yet, they still can't get in touch with the girl. But they know that when she gets back, they will be happy to have her to show others how amazing she is. And hoping that she would drop on hurting Lila and they would all be friends again.
When they all got together, they were happy to see the show again as it now starts.
"Last time on Total Drama Island, a talent contest brought out the best and worst in our campers. It was awesome. And while Lucy and Marinette were occupied taking an urgent phone call, the Killer Bass struggled to find any talent on their team. And Bridgette's clumsiness pretty much knocked out their best prospect...Courtney. Gwen stood up to Heather for Marinette. So Heather swore to make both Gwen's and Marinette's lives miserable. Starting by stealing Marinette's diary. Then she tries to read it in front of the entire viewing world. But it then backfired when the box that holds Marinette's diary trapped her hand in the nick of time. Man, was that a close one." "You said it, Chris," Alya said, crossing her arms and smiling proudly at her friend's diary box. "Then Heather managed to save her butt by convincing the rest of the team to vote off Justin "McGorgeousness." Who will be the next one to walk off this lame dock? Find out tonight in the most dramatic marshmallow ceremony ever on Total Drama Island."
After watching the usual theme, they watch as Marinette and all of the other campers are in the campsite, and Chris tells them something. "Campers, today's challenge will test your outdoor survival skills. I'm not gonna lie to you, some of you may not come back alive. Just joking." he laughed. "It's not even funny." one of the Addict Yourself waiters said, walking past the teenagers. "All you have to do is spend one night in the woods. Everything you need is at your team's campsite in the forest. You just have to find it." Chris then tosses Lucy and Duncan a map and a compass for each of the two of them. "Oh, and watch out for bears. Lost a couple of interns in preproduction." the class's eyes widened when they heard that coming out of Chris's mouth. They were more shocked when they started to hear Lucy talk after, "I'm sure we'll keep that in mind," she said, looking unamused and handing Gwen the map and compass. "You sure are fearless all of a sudden," Gwen said, looking at Lucy surprised. "Well, you could say that this isn't the first time I was in the great outdoors," Lucy explained as she got her BerryPod and earphones out. Before any of the class can react and question where Lucy got the BerryPod, they see her confessional.
"I'd just like to thank my friend Angie for this BerryPod and earphones." Lucy said, holding a light purple sticky note that says in violet-purple pen, 'Just thought you might need it while at camp-Angie.' "Oh, that's where she got it from," Rose said, now understanding where Lucy got the BerryPod from. "I know I said my family doesn't do technology like everyone else, but there is one thing I miss doing back home, and that is listening to my music in my record player." "A what player?" "What the heck is a record player?" "How does she listen to music with a record player?"
"My favorite music I like to play is classical, all songs from the 1950s to the early 2000s. In other words, from 2000 to 2009." "What? What about the songs we have? Doesn't she like those too?" "Some 2010 songs I can tolerate, notice I said I only like some of them. I have reasons why." "That doesn't make any sense. What's wrong with the songs we have?" Anyway, I'm still grateful for Angie giving me this. Thanks, Ang. I owe you one." she said, waving at the camera to her friend. "Hope Marinette can bring Lucy with her when she gets back. That way, we can show her and her family what they're missing." Nino suggested. Alya and the others agreed, thinking it would be a great idea to help the Corleones see how wonderful life is with phones, laptops, and other stuff that would be very useful for them to have.
After that, they continue watching the show. "First team back for breakfast wins invincibility." Chris then blows his airhorn while some of the campers get up from their seats and start walking. "Well, off you go." "Did he say there are bears up in here?" asked Leshawna. "I had a little encounter with a bear once," said Owen. "Let's just say his head looks real nice up on my mantel." "Lucky," Kim commented. "Oh, this one time, I saw a bear eating our garbage. He had old spaghetti noodles hanging from his big, huge teeth, and it looked like blood and guts." Izzy explained. Most of the students and some of the people who walk past them look pretty shocked hearing that from Izzy. Some looked disgusted even. Juleka, on the other hand, looked amazed hearing that. "It was so gross. And we thought he was eating the neighbor's cat, Simba. But it turned out he was just lost for a week." Rose sighed in relief hearing that. Juleka smiled, even though she was amazed about the bear, but she was also glad that the cat was okay.
After that, the scene changed to the Screaming Gophers heading over to their campground. Marinette is walking with Lucy while she (Lucy) is already listening to some classical music played by Mozart on her BerryPod and earphones. "Man, that music sounds like unicorn barf!" Kim groaned in disgust, covering his ears. Nino nodded in agreement while looking disgusted. "What are you talking about? There's nothing bad about classical." a person said behind him. "There's EVERYTHING bad about classical!" Kim and Nino complained in unison. Adrien's heart starts to ache as he watches Trent walk with Marinette, and the two of them look happy.
They then watch as Heather scoffs and rubs her hand and wrist. "She is so the next one to leave." she said. "Who?" Beth asked. "Who do you think? She had her box trap my hand in front of everyone." "Uh, no. It closed and trapped your hand by itself to protect Marinette's secrets from you. Maybe you should've stuck to dancing instead of trying to read someone's private life out loud to the public." Alya said, crossing her arms and glaring at Heather. "Yeah, but you did almost read her diary out loud to the whole entire world. ALMOST." Gwen pointed. "That's what I've been saying!" Alya explained. But hearing that from Gwen made Heather stand her ground, making the other Screaming Gophers behind her stop. "So?" "So, that was pretty harsh," Gwen said, with Cody nodding in agreement. "Exactly! She's just as worse as Chloe!" Adrien was about to say something until Heather continued, "She is so going down," Before any of the students can react and say something, they watch as the scene changes to Trent and Marinette still walking to their location until they both hear a scream behind them. They turned to look back and saw Heather hiding behind Owen, shaking in fear. "Jeez, what scared her all of a sudden?" one of the waitresses said, looking at Heather oddly, then continued on walking to take people's orders.
"What's wrong?" Marinette asked. Heather tries to tell them while pointing at Lucy, but all that comes out of her mouth are sputters and stutters. However, when they all watch as the scene changes to Lucy, all they see is Lucy still walking and listening to Mozart. "Okay, seriously, I'm gonna puke if I hear another one of that unicorn barf." Kim complained. Nino nods in agreement. "Lucy isn't doing anything, Heather." Marinette and Trent then continue walking, catching up to Lucy.
Along with the rest of the Screaming Gophers following along with them. Heather was both shocked and in disbelief about none of the Screaming Gophers believing her when she saw what happened that might've involved Lucy. Seeing Heather's shocked expression made Adrien look back at the shocked faces of Marinette, Chloe, and Sabrina. He can never forget the time that he told Chloe and Sabrina the truth about Lila after Chloe demanded him to tell him why Marinette is in Total Drama. He was even upset that Chloe stopped talking to him. Chloe and Sabrina both. He just doesn't understand why people can't see that he's trying to make people see that lies don't hurt anyone and they should just let it all go.
After Heather's unexcusable confessional, the scene changes to the Screaming Gophers finally arriving at their campsite. When Owen pointed out that there were no food supplies, Lucy explained to him that the challenge was a survival task. "Lucy's right. Look at the instructions," said Trent. After a bit of watching the show, Heather explains while reading they're supposed to find their own food. "I don't see it," she said. "I think they mean in the woods, Heather," Marinette said, pointing at the words that were in small font in the instructions. "Leave the food finding to me," Lucy said loudly, getting out a fishnet and a spear. They all looked surprised, seeing that Lucy had a fear and fishnet. "Where did Lucy get those?" "Where did that girl get the spear and fishnet?" Leshawna asked, pointing to the two things in Lucy's hands. "She probably got them from Chris or Chef," Heather said, rolling up the map. They then watch Lucy's confessional. "Actually, they are my stuff one of my relatives gave me one summer," Lucy said, holding up an old photo of her tween self, holding the same spear and fishnet. "Like I said, it's not the first time I was in the great outdoors." "Wow, I never knew that Lucy was a pro of this." "She's so gonna win with the Screaming Gophers." two of the teen customers said, walking past the students.
They then watch as the scene changes to the Screaming Gophers's campsite already set, and they are all waiting for Lucy to come back. They then see the camera turning to a pizza guy, asking who ordered a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. One of the cameramen then calls out to the pizza guy, saying, "It's for the camera crew, over here." "No way," Heather said in disbelief. "For once, I agree with Heather." Alix admits. Her friends all agreed with her. "Yeah, they could've at least order some for them too." "Well, this is a survival task. I don't think they mean we can't use any modern things like ordering food." Marinette said, with Trent and Gwen nodding in agreement. "Well, Marinette does make a point there." Adrien said, making Max, Ivan, and Mylene nod in agreement.
"Alright, I'm back," Lucy called out, with a fish in her spear and thirteen fish in her fishnet. "Oh. My. Gosh." one of the teenage girl customers at one table said, looking shocked, seeing Lucy had caught a lot of fish. The Akuma Class on the other hand, too looked shocked, yet surprised, amazed, and impressed with Lucy catching all of those fourteen fish.
After a while of watching the Killer Bass and the B.F.F.F.L's, the scene changes to the Screaming Gophers again, where they watch as they're cooking some of the fish Lucy caught. "Alright, fire's hot, fish is grilling, and we already got the tent set up." Lucy said as she looked at the tent, and Marinette looked at the fish. "Nice going, Lucy, fish looks awesome." "Thanks. I owe it all to my relatives back home." Lucy explained.
"Lucy must've got an amazing family back home." Adrien said, looking impressed, along with Nino nodding in agreement. "She's so lucky. Her family must be so cool teaching her cool things." Kim said, feeling a bit jealous. Alya nods in agreement, feeling a little bit more jealous than Kim is. Adrien tries to tell them that there's no need to be jealous about it until they hear Heather start asking something. "Hey, has anyone seen Crazy Girl?" she asked. "I think she had to use the can." Owen guessed. "But that was over an hour ago." Trent said. The Akuma Class looks to worry for the Screaming Gophers while they (the Screaming Gophers) are calling out Izzy's name. Just then, Owen notices the bushes rustling and heads over to it in relief.
"Good. I thought we lost you there for a minute, man," he said, walking over to the bush. But he then stopped when he saw that it was not Izzy. Instead, it was a bear that was growling. "Great Pyramid of Giza!" Owen screamed. The Akuma class and some of the other people in the restaurant looked shocked to see a bear on TV, growling at the Screaming Gophers. "AAH! WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE! WE'RE GONNA GET EATEN ALIVE BY A BEAR! OH, THE HORROR!" Owen screamed while running around in fear. As Owen continues screaming, Heather trips him, making him snap out of it. Heather then panics a bit and quickly tells the Screaming Gophers, "The trees! Climb into the trees!"
The scene then changes to Marinette and Lucy walking in the woods, calling out Izzy's name, and looking for her. The Akuma Class sighed in relief, knowing that Marinette was okay. They then watch as they walk into the Killer Bass's campsite. "Well, well, well. Look who finally decided to join us." Duncan said, crossing his arms. "Funny, Juvie," Lucy said. "Hey, have you guys seen Izzy?" "No, sorry, Lucy," Courtney said. "Man, that bambina is gonna put us six feet under. Thanks." but before Lucy and Marinette can continue with their search for Izzy, they both notice the rabbit in D.J.'s arms. "Where'd you find that?" she asked as she and Marinette sat down. Before the Akuma Class can react and D.J. can answer the question, an owl is heard, and Bridgette is startled by the sound. "It's okay, Bridgette. It's just an owl." Marinette said, comforting her. "Sorry, I just get really freaked out in the forest," Bridgette said. "Hey, if it's any consolation, sometimes nature is a wonder to behold." Before Rose and Mylene could agree with that fact, Lucy continued, "Well, not all the time, honestly," "Why? What's wrong with it?" Harold asked. Lucy crosses her arms, looking down, saying, "Well, it's kinda hard to explain, really." "Huh, I thought you said that it wasn't the first time you were in the great outdoors," Duncan said. "I did. But sometimes nature is, honestly, no picnic. Asides from being in one that is bear-country on one side of it, and dealing with..." The class, the people in the restaurant, Marinette, and the Killer Bass looked surprised seeing this new thing of Lucy. Lucy crossed her arms, held herself tightly, never letting herself go, looking down, not feeling comfortable continuing on, shaking as if she experienced something traumatizing, and her face looked like she was scarred for life.
"Jeez. Why did Duncan have to smart-mouth that?" "That punk should've kept his mouth shut." 'What happened, Lucy? Who hurt you?' Juleka thought, looking at Lucy with full-on sympathy for the shaken female idol.
Courtney then smacked Duncan on the head. "See what you did?! You're making her feel scared now!" she said angrily. Juleka crosses her arms, angrily glaring at Duncan. "Courtney, it's fine. It was just a nightmare I just had before I got into this show." Lucy said, snapping out of it. "I got a bit carried away reading old newspaper articles." "Old what articles?" Alya said, looking at Lucy, completely confused about what Lucy was talking about. "One of them was about a former country idol and a female idol from another genre. I guess I read that one too much that it gave me that nightmare, making me be the said female idol, being hunted down by that creepy former country idol..."
Lucy then pauses for a second, snapping her fingers while thinking of the name of the former country idol. "Ah, man, I forgot his name. It's kinda the same name as a bird. But I forgot what bird it was." Marinette, the Killer Bass, and the people in Addict Yourself understood that she was dealing with a nightmare, but Courtney and Juleka were still glaring at Duncan for making her remember the said nightmare. "You are so vile. Do your parents even like you?" Courtney asked, making Juleka quietly laugh at that burn. Adrien was about to say something to Courtney. Even though it is just an episode of a reality show in a different country, Duncan answered the burn question, saying, "I don't know, Gawky McShocker. I haven't asked them lately." Then, wolves start to howl, which startles Marinette into jumping into Duncan's arms in fear and looking scared, not aware of Duncan looking at her, then at Geoff, causing him to give Duncan a smile and a thumbs up. Seeing that started to somehow make Adrien jealous.
The scene then changes back to the Screaming Gophers' side, where everyone watches as the Screaming Gophers are all up on a tree, trying to get away from the bear. "So what do we do now?" Trent asked Heather. "Don't look at me," "It was your idea to climb the trees." Gwen recalled. "Well, why don't you ask the bear-hunting expert?" Heather suggested. "Hey, Owen, what now?" "How should I know?" Owen asked. "Dude, you said you killed a bear while we were walking." Leshawna said. "I was being thearitical." Owen admits. Heather then yells at him, saying, "This is all your fault. If you hadn't been growling like that, we never would've attracted him to our side." "Forgive me for living!" Owen exclaimed.
"Hey, ease up on the guy. He did help Lucy and Marinette set the campfire up for the fish." Trent said. "Wait a minute, where is Lucy and Marinette?" Gwen asked, causing the others to notice the two were missing. Heather then notices the bear next to their fish that is still at the campfire. "Hey! Lay off our fish!" Heather yelled at the bear. "It's probably already eaten, Izzy!" Lindsay cried. "Then is shouldn't be hungry anymore." Everyone looked at Heather in shock and disbelief. "What? This is Survival of the Fittest." she said. Suddenly, the tree branch Leshawna was on broke, causing her to fall and face the bear. Everyone gasped, looking shocked and scared for Leshawna. "Dear, Abby, she's going to die!" Owen cried.
After a bit of panicking and telling a scared Leshawna to run for her life, it was finally revealed to be Izzy, wearing a bear costume. "What are you? Some kind of weirdo?" Gwen asked as she and some of the other Screaming Gophers started glaring at Izzy. "I thought it would be funny." Izzy laughed. "How is any of THAT even funny?!" Alya yelled, making the rest of the people in Addict Yourself agree with her. Little did any of them know, Kim found it hilarious and started laughing without any of them knowing about him laughing about what they all saw.
After that, they watch as the scene changes to the Killer Bass campsite, where they, Lucy, and Marinette are all sleeping in their tent. After a bit, they watch as a bunch of bats start flying past Bridgette until one accidentally flies to her face, causing her to lose her balance and fall to the floor, causing a still-burning rock from the campfire to fly up, heading over to the tent. But before it can make contact with it, Lucy quickly catches it and tosses it back into the campfire. Everyone sighed in relief from that. Lucy then walks over to Bridgette, gently grabbing the bat off of Bridgette's face. "Come on, Vinnie Stoker, off the gal and head back with your pals," she said, letting the bat fly off. "Who's Vinnie Stoker?" "I don't know," "How the heck should I know?" they all then shrug and continue watching the show, seeing Lucy help Bridgette up.
"Thanks, Lucy." "Of course. It's what I'm here for." "Is your hand okay?" "Oh, it is. Slightly burnt a tiny bit. But other than that, it's fine, really." "Guess she does have experience with the great outdoors," Duncan said, crossing his arms impressed. "Of course, she does, punk-o," Juleka mumbled, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms. After that, they all headed back into their tent to rest, just in time before it started to rain.
After a while of watching the Screaming Gophers dealing with a real bear, it was finally the next morning, and everyone was awake and in pain on their backs. "Well, I think it's safe, guys. The bear's gone." Trent said. "And... the map," Gwen added, holding the map that seemed to be torn and dripping from last night's rain. "Hey, I don't know how raccoons sleep in trees, because I'm so stiff." Izzy says. "They must be really limber." Owen guessed while stretching. That was until Heather angrily walks to the two, telling them, "You know what, Crazy Girl? I don't want to hear another word from you or the "Bear Hunter" here. If you two hadn't been acting like bear bait all night, we could have actually slept in our tent." a bird that came out of the blue then started chirping, causing the three to yell 'shut it', making it fall to the ground.
After that, and seeing the B.F.F.F.L's running from the bear, they watch as the scene changes to the Killer Bass again. There, Adrien sees Marinette resting on Duncan, causing his heart to ache more than ever until she starts to wake up. "Morning, Sunshine." Marinette's eyes opened, and she finally realized that she was on top of Duncan. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" Marinette gasped, quickly getting off of him, looking embarrassed. "Seriously? Cuddling Nettie like that? Not cool, Juvie." Lucy said, looking at Duncan unamused. Juleka too, looked at Duncan unamused while crossing her arms, shaking her head. "Hey, I was calmly lying on my back and trying to catch a few z's. She was snuggling up to me." "You are one heck of a beta-punk."  "You tell him, Lucy." Juleka said. "I've been called worse." Lucy and Juleka both rolled their eyes, and Lucy started to walk out of the tent. "Come on, Nettie. We're leaving. Hope the gang found Izzy and they'll meet us at the campsite." Lucy said, with Marinette walking next to her. They all then watch Lucy's confessional.
"I am not trusting that Juvenile one bit whenever Nettie is with him. If he ever hurts a hair on that bambina, he will regret it." "Please do," Juleka said with a nod. After that, the scene then changes to the campsite, where Chris is moving the wood for the campfire for the next elimination ceremony until he turns to see Lucy and Marinette are the first two back for the Screaming Gophers' side. "Glad you two made it. You two can head back into the main lodge and help Chef out." "Sweet!" Lucy said, looking like she'd won a Platinum Record at the music awards. Marinette happily nodded, and the two headed over to the main lodge. 'Why is Lucy excited about making breakfast? I thought idols were supposed to be happy with performing on stage for fans. Not doing lame hobbies like making breakfast.' Alya thought to herself.
That was until she snaps out of it, seeing the Killer Bass, running into the scene. "We're the first ones back!" Courtney happily cheered. The Screaming Gophers then arrive as well. "Oh, no! They beat us here. This is all your fault!" yelled Heather. "Not so fast, Gopherinos," said Chris. "It seems the Killer Bass are missing a few fish." "Oh, you mean Katie and Sadie?" Courtney asked. "I'm pretty sure they got eaten by wolves last night." "Darn shame," said Duncan. That was until Katie and Sadie ran in, panting. "Way to jinx it, you two." Alix said, crossing her arms. "We made it." "We're safe! Oh, my gosh, guys, we got totally got lost and then got in this massive fight." "And there was this huge bear, and he was all, "Rawr! You're in my crib, so get out!"" "And we had to run, and it was, like, so scary." After a bit and seeing the two hug and make up, Courtney gets their attention, clearing her throat to them. "Are you two finished your little love fest?" she asked. The two nodded. "Good. Because thanks to you, we just lost the challenge!" "Wait, but what about Marinette and Lucy?" Lindsay asked. "Oh, those two got here too. They're just helping Chef in the kitchen making breakfast as we speak." Chris said, pointing to the main lodge. The Screaming Gophers sighed in relief, knowing that the two were okay and they didn't lose the challenge either. Chris continued. "All right, Killer Bass, one of your fishy butts is going home. Gophers, as the two are done helping Chef, you're going on an all-expense-paid trip to the Tuck Shop!" The Screaming Gophers cheered while the Killer Bass gasped and then glared at the duo.
"Man, Marinette's lucky. I would kill to have an all-expense-paid trip to the Tuck Shop." Kim whined, crossing his arms. "I wonder if there's a way to ask Chris to have us in the show too?"
After a bit, they watch the elimination ceremony begin. "You've all cast your votes. The camper who does not receive a marshmallow must immediately hit the Dock of Shame, grab the Boat of Losers, and get the heck out of here. And you can't come back. Ever...Now, I can see you're all tired, so tonight, I'll just throw them to you. Savvy?" Chris then starts to throw the marshmallows to the campers who are safe. "Courtney. Duncan. Bridgette. D.J.. Harold. Geoff. Tyler." Which then leaves Katie and Sadie. "Ladies. This is the final marshmallow of the evening...Sadie."
After a bit of watching the B.F.F.F.Ls say their heartbreaking goodbyes, the scene then changes to Lucy and Marinette, who are sitting on the steps of the Killer Bass cabin, reading another Stephanie Queen book and sketching designs on her sketchpad while Duncan walks over and sits down next to them. "Hey, Duncan," said Marinette. "What do you want?" Lucy asked, glaring at him and trying to continue reading her book. "I just want to say that I'm sorry I asked that question, making you remember that nightmare." "Hey, you're lucky I had my essential oils on me, or else I would've brutalitied you into a pulp." "Brutalitied?" "Brutal-what?" "Oh, it's slang my people and I usually use back then. Anyway, just know that I accept your apology." Lucy and Marinette then got up and headed over to the Screaming Gophers cabin for bed, not aware of Duncan looking at Marinette romantically. "She is so into me." Duncan says to himself while leaning back, still having the hook in his right hand, feeling the sharp point caused him to 'agh' in pain. 'Hmph. Serves you right.' Juleka thought, smirking triumphantly.
After the show was over, they all headed home. All agreed to meet back at Addict Yourself to watch the next episode. And agree to have a discussion about having Marinette bring Lucy and her family to Paris so they can show them what they are missing technology-wise, and Alya can get her viewers back by having an idol be on her blog. Adrien, on the other hand, plans to make sure that when everything goes well, everything will finally go his way. Even getting his miraculous back and getting the poser heroine out of his spotlight.
Celebrities + Friends and Family (+ ??? & ???)
It was another weekend for all of the celebrities, friends, and families in Paris, France. They are all getting together, getting ready to watch the new episode of Total Drama, wanting to see what Marinette is going to do in the next challenge.
When they all settled down, they got their hors d'oeuvres and drinks and started to watch the show as it is now on.
Man, was that a close one." "You said it, Chris." Jagged said, raising his soda cup up, along with everyone agreeing with him. "Then Heather managed to save her butt by convincing the rest of the team to vote off Justin "McGorgeousness." Who will be the next one to walk off this lame dock? Find out tonight in the most dramatic marshmallow ceremony ever on Total Drama Island."
After they watch the usual theme, they watch the show, showing them Marinette and the campers are all at the campsite, listening to what Chris has to say. "Campers, today's challenge will test your outdoor survival skills. I'm not gonna lie to you, some of you may not come back alive. Just joking." he laughed. Some look confused, some look uncertain, some look uneasy, and some chuckle, thinking that Chris was actually kidding. "Uhm, exactly, how is that even funny?" Aeon asked, looking confused. "I am not sure, but I feel like McLean needs to work on his sense of humor." Kagami commented with her mother nodding in agreement with a hum. Chris continued, "All you have to do is spend one night in the woods. Everything you need is at your team's campsite in the forest. You just have to find it." Chris then tosses Lucy and Duncan a map and a compass for each of the two of them. "Oh, and watch out for bears. Lost a couple of interns in preproduction." "I'm sure we'll keep that in mind," Lucy said, handing Gwen the map and compass. Everyone looked surprised, seeing the unamused look on Lucy's face.
"You sure are fearless all of a sudden," Gwen said, looking surprised as well. "Well, you could say that this isn't the first time I was in the great outdoors," Lucy explained as she got her BerryPod and earphones out. Before anybody can react and ask where and how Lucy got a BerryPod and earphones. "I'd just like to thank my friend Angie for this BerryPod and earphones." Lucy said, holding a light purple sticky note that says in violet-purple pen, 'Just thought you might need it while at camp-Angie.' "Oh, that's where she got it from, okay." "Well, that was very nice of Angie to give Lucy something." "Yeah, but I'm still a bit confused as to why she gave it to her." "I know I said my family doesn't do technology like everyone else, but there is one thing I miss doing back home, and that is listening to my music in my record player." "Oh, that's why." "That makes perfect sense." "I get it now." "My favorite music I like to play is classical, all songs from the 1950s to the early 2000s. In other words, from 2000 to 2009. Some 2010 songs I can tolerate, notice I said I only like some of them. I have reasons why." "No judgment here." "Hey, it's her choice. No one's stopping her there." "That is true. I don't see what's wrong with her choice of music." "Truthfully, I'm with her. I'm used to some songs, but not all of them." "I, as well. But personally, I prefer the old songs than the ones on the radio." "Me too." "Well, we're all entitled to our own opinion." "Very true." "Anyway, I'm still grateful for Angie giving me this. Thanks, Ang. I owe you one." she said, waving at the camera to her friend. "It was so nice of Miss Maleficent to give the Madame Hatter something she needs." "That's for sure."
They all then continue watching the show. "First team back for breakfast wins invincibility." Chris then blows his airhorn while some of the campers get up from their seats and start walking. "Well, off you go." "Did he say there are bears up in here?" asked Leshawna. "I had a little encounter with a bear once." said Owen. "Let's just say his head looks real nice up on my mantel." "Yeah, sure you did have him up on a mantel, Owen." One of the wunderkind actors said with sarcasm in their tone while crossing their arms.
"Oh, this one time, I saw a bear eating our garbage. He had old spaghetti noodles hanging from his big, huge teeth, and it looked like blood and guts." Izzy explained. "And possibly some moldy spots along with it," Lucy muttered, sticking her tongue in disgust while Marinette quietly giggled from that. Some people laughed and chuckled at that as well. "It was so gross. And we thought he was eating the neighbor's cat Simba. But it turned out he was just lost for a week." "Better the cat alive than dead." Lucy muttered again, with Marinette nodding in agreement. "Oh, that's right. Lucy's a full-on cat person. Well, she likes dogs too. And birds. And hamsters. And guinea pigs. Well, actually, she likes all animals that are adorable in her eyes." one of the teen bloggers said. "How do you know that?" Manon asked with full curiosity in her eyes. "Oh, Lucy confirmed it herself at a talk show once with the rest of the MetaBetas. It's still on the internet, and there's still the episode of the interview to prove it, too." "Oh, okay."
They watch as the scene changes to the Screaming Gophers walking on their way to the location of their campsite. Trent then caught up to Marinette. "Hey, Marinette, wait up. Can I walk with you?" "Sure. I don't mind at all." Marinette said to him. Trent smiled as the two walked together while Lucy, who was listening to her music, was just more focused on walking and listening to her said music. Everyone found out that Lucy was listening to classical music, starting with Mozart. "Ah, Mozart's Don Giovanni. A true classic." one of the female conductors said, with full satisfaction hearing slightly of the song in Lucy's earphones. Just then, their smiles faded when they watched Heather scoff. "She is so the next one to leave," she said. "Who?" Beth asked. "Who do you think? She had her box trap my hand in front of everyone." "Yeah, but you did almost read her diary out loud to the entire world. ALMOST." Gwen pointed out. "EXACTLY! She had it coming." One of the teenage debate champions scolded, with everyone agreeing with her. Hearing that from Gwen made Heather stand her ground and make the others behind her stop. "So?" "So, that was pretty harsh," Gwen said, with Cody nodding in agreement. "You tell her, Gwen!"
"She is going down," said Heather. Before any of Marinette's friends can say anything to defend Marinette, they watch as the scene changes to Trent and Marinette still walking to their location until they both hear a scream behind them. They turned to look back and saw Heather hiding behind Owen, shaking in fear. "Jeez, what scared her all of a sudden?" Jessica said, looking at Heather as if she had grown another head. "What's wrong?" Marinette asked. Heather tries to tell them while pointing at Lucy, but all that comes out of her mouth are sputters and stutters. However, when they all watch as the scene changes to Lucy, all they see is Lucy still walking and listening to Mozart. "Why is she pointing to Lucy? All she's doing is listening to Don Giovanni." one of the teen classical historians said, looking at the other teen celebrities around her as they all shrugged, muttering out an 'I don't know' or an 'I have no idea'.
After watching Heather's confessional, the scene changes to the Screaming Gophers finally arriving at their campsite. When Owen pointed out that there were no food supplies, Lucy explained to him that the challenge was a survival task. "Lucy's right. Look at the instructions," said Trent. After a bit of watching the show, Heather explains while reading, they're supposed to find their own food. "Where did Madame Hatter get those?" "Where did that girl get the spear and fishnet?" Leshawna asked, pointing to the two things in Lucy's hands. "She probably got them from Chris or Chef," Heather said, rolling up the map. They then watch Lucy's confessional. "Actually, they are my stuff one of my relatives gave me one summer," Lucy said, holding up an old photo of her tween self, holding the same spear and fishnet. "Like I said, it's not the first time I was in the great outdoors." "Huh. Well, that's smart of her." "She and Marinette are definitely going to win this one for the Screaming Gophers."
After that, they watch as the Screaming Gophers are already done setting up their campsite, waiting for Lucy to come back. After watching the Screaming Gophers look disbelieved about the camera crew ordering pizza. Marinette reminds them that they're doing a survival task, and Lucy calls out, saying she's back. They all see her come back with a fish in her spear and thirteen fish in her fishnet. Everyone looked amazed and impressed with Lucy catching a lot of fish for the team. "Atta girl, Madame Hatter. Atta girl." one of the famous travelers said, crossing their arms proudly.
After a little while of watching the Killer Bass and the B.F.F.F.Ls, they watch as the Screaming Gophers cook the fish Lucy caught. "They must be very proud of you, Lucy." one of the intern journalists says, feeling proud of Lucy. That was until Heather started to notice something was not right. "Hey, has anyone seen Crazy Girl?" she asked. "I think she had to use the can." Owen guessed. "But that was over an hour ago." Trent said. "Well that isn't good." one of the servants said, pouring some soda in one of the children's cups. As the Screaming Gophers are calling Izzy's name, looking for her, Lucy and Marinette started walking, looking for Izzy. That was until Owen noticed the bushes rustling and headed over there, looking relieved."Good. I thought we lost you there for a minute, man," he said, walking over to the bush. But he then stopped when he saw that it was not Izzy. Instead, it was a bear that was growling. "Great Pyramid of Giza!" Owen screamed. Everyone looked shocked to see a bear on TV, growling at the Screaming Gophers.
Everyone sighed in relief, knowing that Marinette was okay. Everyone chuckled, knowing that Lucy was always a sucker for animals. Before D.J. can answer her question, an owl is heard, and Bridgette is startled by the sound. "It's okay, Bridgette. It's just an owl." Marinette said, comforting her. "Sorry, I just get really freaked out in the forest," Bridgette said. "Hey, if it's any consolation, sometimes nature is a wonder to behold. Well, not all the time, honestly," "Why? What's wrong with it?" Harold asked. Lucy crosses her arms, looking down, saying, "Well, it's kinda hard to explain, really." "Huh, I thought you said that it wasn't the first time you were in the great outdoors," Duncan said. "I did. But sometimes nature is, honestly, no picnic. Asides from being in one that is bear-country on one side of it, and dealing with..." Everyone looked as surprised as the Killer Bass were when they all saw this new side of Lucy. Lucy crossed her arms, held herself tightly, never letting herself go, looking down, not feeling comfortable continuing on, shaking as if she experienced something traumatizing, and her face looked like she was scarred for life. "What the heck, Duncan?!" "He should've kept it to himself, the rotten punk!" 'What happened, Lucy? Who hurt you?' Luke thought, looking at Lucy with sympathy for the female idol.
Courtney then smacked Duncan on the head. "See what you did? You're making her feel scared now!" she said angrily. Marinette's friends were either crossing their arms, glaring at Duncan, or both. "Courtney, it's fine. It was just a nightmare I just had before I got into this show." Lucy said, snapping out of it. "I got a bit carried away reading old newspaper articles. One of them was about a former country idol and a female idol from another genre. I guess I read that one too much that it gave me that nightmare, making me be the said female idol, being hunted down by that creepy former country idol..." Lucy then pauses for a second, snapping her fingers while thinking of the name of the former country idol. "Ah, man, I forgot his name. It's kinda the same name as a bird. But I forgot what bird it was." Everyone and the Killer Bass now understood that Lucy was dealing with a nightmare, but Luka knew that there must've been something else that even Lucy didn't know about. However, asides from Luka believing that there was something else, the rest of Marinette's friends and Courtney were still glaring at Duncan for making Lucy remember the said nightmare.
After a while of watching the show, watching that the Screaming Gophers were actually facing Izzy, dressed in a bear costume, they watched as Lucy and Marinette were sleeping in the Killer Bass's tent for the night. Everyone knows that they are since it is already getting dark for them to head back to their tent on time, so it is very understandable. They watch as Bridgette has a bat flying at her face, causing her to lose her balance and fall, causing a still-burning rock to fly over to the Killer Bass's tent. Before it can make contact with the tent, a hand catches it right on time, making everyone relieved that the Killer Bass's tent didn't burn down accidentally from Bridgette. The camera then shows that it was Lucy who caught the still-burning rock. Everyone looked surprised to see Lucy not reacting to the still-burning rock in her hand. After Lucy puts it back into the still-burning fire, she walks over to Bridgette, getting the bat off of her face, saying, "Come on, Vinnie Stoker, off the gal, and head back with your pals." "Mom, who's Vinnie Stoker?" "Oh, he's a..." as Nadja explains to her daughter who Vinnie Stoker is, everyone still watches as Lucy now helps Bridgette back up.
"Of course, she does, punk." Aurore said, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms, still glaring at Duncan. Lucy, Marinette, and the rest of the Killer Bass then head back into the tent to rest, just in time before it starts to rain.
After a while of watching the Screaming Gophers deal with an actual bear, it was finally the next morning. After watching Heather accuse Owen and Izzy and watching the girly-duo, Sadie and Katie face the same bear the Screaming Gophers dealt with, running away from the said bear after, the scene changes to the Killer Bass again.
Everyone looked surprised to see Marinette resting on Duncan. But they quickly stopped and thought, realizing that it must've been the deep sleep getting to her and the other campers. Which would make sense since that happened to some of them from time to time. They then watch as Marinette, Lucy, and the rest of the Killer Bass start to wake up. Some of Marinette's friends agreed with Lucy, crossing their arms and looking unamused.
"You tell him, Lucy." Jessica said with Aeon and Zoe agreeing with her while Tomoe and Kagami both shook their heads at Duncan. "Hey, I was calmly lying on my back and trying to catch a few z's. She was snuggling up to me." "You are one heck of a beta-punk." "You tell it, Lucy." Fei said, with Aurore and Mirelle agreeing with her and Lucy. "I've been called worse." Lucy and some of Marinette's friends (and some feminist teens and celebrities) rolled their eyes, and Lucy started to walk out of the tent. "Come on, Nettie. We're leaving. Hope the gang found Izzy and they'll meet us at the campsite." Lucy said, with Marinette walking out of the tent with her. They all then watch Lucy's confessional.
"I am not trusting that Juvenile one bit whenever Nettie is with him. If he ever hurts a hair on that bambina, he will regret it." "Please do," one of the feminist motivational speakers, Kagami and Luka, said in unison with a single nod, along with Jagged, Penny, Clara, and Marinette's family and friends agreeing with the three. The scene then changes to the campsite, where Chris is moving the wood for the campfire until he turns to see Lucy and Marinette are the first two back for the Screaming Gophers' side.
"Glad you two made it. You two can head back into the main lodge and help Chef out." "Sweet!" Lucy said, looking like she'd won a Platinum Record at the music awards. Marinette happily nodded, and the two headed over to the main lodge. Everyone smiled, knowing that Lucy had loved to cook since she was a child and that Marinette was happy to help from time to time. They are also okay if she doesn't want to and respect her decisions. They then watch as the Killer Bass arrive. "We're the first ones back!" Courtney happily cheered. They then watch as the Screaming Gophers arrive. "Those two jinx it." one of the popular astrology influencers said logically, and then looked down at her phone, posting tomorrow's zodiac posts.
After that and seeing the Screaming Gophers celebrate their victory, they watch the elimination ceremony begin.
'Hmph. Serves you right.' Socqueline thought, crossing her arms and smirking triumphantly.
Meanwhile, in another location, there is nowhere that no one is even aware of...
"Of course. I will let him know. Thank you." the person on the phone then hung up. The person then watches the episode, the second person taped, and they both watch as Lucy forgives Duncan's apology for bringing up the so-called 'Former Country Idol Chase Nightmare' debacle. "Hey, you're lucky I had my essential oils on me, or else I would've brutalitied you into a pulp." "She's still using the same slang from back then." the first person said. "She is." the second one said. The second one then turned to the first person. "Any luck?" they asked. "They said they will let the four know and see what they will do." the second person smiled. "Perfect."

“In my experience,” Klaus says, dropping a few drops into New Guy’s coffee cup, “revenge is best served with milk and two sugars.”
“Well, if you’re gonna do something wrong,” says Lila, taking the bottle from him and squirting the rest of the contents into the cup before giving the coffee a stir, “at least do it right.”
Okay, so that’s like two lines. What are you, the police?
This is from the next bit of High Altitude, which I’ll publish once I’m no longer drowning in deadlines. 😘😘
Tagging with maximum obligation: @super-unpredictable98 @badsext @allisoooon @firstpersonnarrator @courtneytarynofficial @hucklebunny
If you don’t have a fic to share, share some art instead. Or a dirty limerick, I’m also accepting those.

who : @sloaneleia
where : outside of Tilley’s Dance Academy
The words flowed together in their script font on the sign. Lila stared at it for about 20 minutes now, after happening upon the dance studio. Her daughters nick name displayed across the building in which Sloane owned.
Sloane Kirkpatrick felt like her antithesis in ever way. The brunette often found her envying the woman’s life, even elements that felt less than perfect. Sloane’s mother gave her up, to someone who loved her dearly. Lila found herself wishing her mother did the same, instead of merely pretending she wasn’t a mother at all. She’d covet Sloane’s attributes, hearing people describe her as strong and giving and kind. Lila fell under categories like troubled and broken. Her insecurities tied to the woman as soon as Boyd introduced them. Lila tried to ignore the doubt that played in her mind, the teasing idea that the woman he really wanted was his best friend. The comments from Boyd’s mother always left her feeling like a placeholder until they all got what they wanted - Sloane and Boyd happily ever after.
Her daughter’s name adorning the dance school felt like a validation of all of her fears. She’d been replaced so easily. Boyd’s voice from the diner the other day rang through her head, she doesn’t even ask about you. Why would she when it seemed she had a mother all along? It made her want to scream. It made her angry. How could he make her feel so evil for leaving when all she was trying to do was make all of their lives easier? More than anything, Lila felt overjoyed to know her little girl grew up with people that loved her, kept her safe, cared for her.
Her eyes lowered briefly catching Sloane’s eyes. The look on the other woman’s face made it clear she hadn’t known Lila came back to town. Why hadn’t Boyd told her? A sad sort of smile mustered up onto her lips. “You named it after her.” Her voice was soft. “That’s special.”

The last thing either of them expected was a marriage. Especially since the first time they met, Yelena was trying to kill Clint while he was trying to get home to his wife and kids.
But life is unexpected.
Shortly after their first meeting, Clint and Linda decided to separate. Clint was visiting Kate to tell her about the separation when Yelena walked in. The former assassin had grown close with the new Hawkeye and found herself spending most of her time at Kate’s place.
“Why is he all sad?” Yelena asked, gesturing to Clint.
“He has a name,” Clint responded. “And it’s none of your business.”
“Come on, Clint, it’s not that serious,” Kate said. To Yelena, she added, “He and his wife are separating.”
“Oh.” Yelena was shocked to find that she actually kind of felt bad for Clint. “I’m so sorry.”
Clint shrugged. “It’s fine. I’ll be fine.”
It was a short conversation and neither of them expected it to lead to a relationship within a few months, or a marriage a year and a half later.
On the special day, Yelena was stood looking at herself in a full length mirror as Melina fussed over her dress. Her small bridal party consisted of Melina, Kate, and Clint’s daughter, Lila, while Clint’s consisted of his sons, Cooper and Nathaniel, and one of few friends of his who wasn’t an Avenger or a former S.H.I.E.L.D agent.
Yelena could hardly believe the person in the mirror was her. She spent her entire life as a weapon for someone else. She was lied to, tortured, mind controlled. She wasn’t someone who could get married. She wasn’t someone who could be loved.
Now, not only was she getting married, but she was marrying a man with children. She was going to be a mother - or rather, a step-mother. Another thing she could only dream of.
“The dress is fine, Melina,” Yelena told her mother figure. “You are going to make it a mess.”
“I’m just making sure,” Melina said. “I want everything to be perfect on your special day.”
“Everything is perfect,” Yelena assured her. “You are here, Alexei is walking me down the aisle, I look beautiful in the dress we picked and the makeup Kate did for me. I can’t imagine anything else that would make today perfect.”
A thought crossed Yelena’s mind. She and Melina locked eyes through the mirror and she knew they were thinking the same thing. The one thing that would make this day truly perfect for Yelena: Natasha.
It was ironic because Natasha was the reason Clint and Yelena met. Granted, Yelena was trying to kill Clint because she was led to believe Clint had killed Natasha, but that was besides the point.
Natasha was the reason they had met and she wouldn’t even be at their wedding.
Kate stood. “No sadness. This is a wedding! It’s a day of happiness! Come on, let’s take a group photo.”
She set up her camera and the four women huddled together. Yelena smiled as the flash went off. When she looked at the picture later on, she could see the genuine happiness in her face.
Meanwhile, the guests were starting to arrive. Clint was at the end of the aisle with his Groom’s Men, welcome everyone as they came to speak to him.
He was surprised when Nick Fury walked up to him, wearing an actual, formal suit.
Fury chuckled at the look on his face. “You sent me the invite. Did you really think I wouldn’t come?
“I’ll be honest, Yelena and I sent the invite as a joke,” Clint admitted. “I am glad to see you, though. I don’t exactly have many people to invite considering everyone I knew is...”
“Dead?” Fury finished for him.
Clint nodded.
As much as this should’ve been a happy day for him, Clint could only feel bittersweet. Yes, he was very happy and excited to marry Yelena. He loved her with all of his heart and he couldn’t wait to be with her for the rest of his life. However, when it came to planning the wedding and deciding who to invite, Clint finally realized how many people he had lost in his life. Tony, Steve, Natasha. Thor wasn’t dead, but Clint had no way to reach him on Asgard. Bruce was the only original Avenger left and one of very few people Clint had to invite to the wedding.
“There’s a hard price to pay for what we do,” Fury said. “And it’s times like this we truly realize that.”
Clint nodded again, unable to speak.
“I am glad you invited me, though,” Fury said. “Maria and I wouldn’t have missed this for the world.”
Clint gave Fury a knowing look. “Maria, huh? I don’t remember sending her a personal invite.”
Fury smiled, a rare occurrence for the former S.H.I.E.L.D director. “She’s my plus one.”
Clint smiled back at him. “Congrats then.”
“I think I’m the one who should be saying that to you.”
Fury took his seat next to Maria Hill, who also surprised Clint by wearing a beautiful black dress. He had never seen his former colleagues dressed in such formal wear before.
When all of the guests arrived and were seated, Clint felt himself becoming nervous. It was almost time for Yelena to walk down the aisle and to finally, officially, become his wife.
Back in the Bridal room, a knock came at the door as each of the women were taking some more pictures on Kate’s camera. Melina called for whoever it was to come in, and the door opened to reveal Yelena’s father figure.
“It is time, honey,” he told Yelena.
Her heart began to race as she realized what this meant.
Melina kissed her daughter’s cheek as she, Kate, and Lila went to take their places. It was just Alexei and Yelena left. Alexei looked over his youngest girl, dressed in white on her wedding day and Yelena was almost certain he was going to start crying.
“You look beautiful,” he told her.
She smiled at him. “Thank you, Alexei.”
He offered her his arm and she took it, ready to step into the next chapter of her life.
The pianist began to play the song Clint and Yelena had chosen for her walk down the aisle. The guests stood and turned towards the beginning of the aisle, where Nathaniel was stood holding a pillow with the wedding rings. He walked down the aisle first, joining Clint and his Groom’s Men. Lila followed, acting as the flower girl, followed by Melina. The Russian woman smiled at Clint and he smiled back at her.
Then, Alexei and Yelena appeared. Yelena clutched Alexei’s arm, praying that she wouldn’t fall as she walked down the aisle. She hadn’t worn heels before, especially not ones where the heel was so small. She cursed Melina and Kate for going against her original decision to just wear her boots under the dress.
The two former assassins slowly made their way down the aisle. All eyes were on Yelena, but her eyes were on Clint. She could see his eyes starting to mist with tears and she had to try and stop herself from crying as well as to not ruin her makeup.
When she got to the end of the aisle, Clint stepped forward to do the symbolic gesture of taking the bride from her father. Yelena let go of Alexei’s arm, but turned to kiss him on the cheek before going to Clint.
“Thank you,” she whispered to him.
As she expected, Alexei was crying as well. “If he hurts you, he’s dead.”
Yelena let out a laugh before taking Clint’s arm and joining him at the alter. Their officiate told everyone they could be seated, and that’s when Yelena turned and glanced the empty seat in the front row.
When planning their wedding, there was one person that both Clint and Yelena had wanted to be there that couldn’t. When talking about it with Kate, she suggested leaving an empty seat in the front row, a symbolic spot for the one special guest that they couldn’t have there.
They had chosen the seat next to Alexei, which was where Yelena figured Natasha would’ve sat if she was there. They had a sign on the chair that said “Reserved” and a picture of Natasha below the sign. She was front and center, smiling at her best friend and her sister, like she was supposed to be.
Yelena felt another tug at her heart as she continued to gaze at the seat. She wished more than anything that Natasha could actually be there. That her adopted family could be whole on the most important day of her life.
“Yelena?” Clint said, softly.
She snapped out of her trance and turned back to Clint. “Yes, sorry.”
“It’s okay. I understand.”
It was a loss they had both experienced, which made things a bit easier for the two of them at least.
The official wedding things started then, with the officiate talking about the importance of marriage, having their witnesses sign the official documents, so on and so on. Yelena was almost excited to get to the vows since that meant the ceremony part was almost over. As excited as she was to be married, she really just wanted to get to the reception.
They decided to go with the traditional vows where the officiate would speak and Clint and Yelena would repeat after him. Yelena went first, vowing to love and cherish Clint in sickness and health till death do them part.
“Do you also vow not to kill me again?” Clint joked as he started to slide the ring on Yelena’s finger.
Yelena chuckled and responded, “No promises.”
“I’ll take that.”
Clint went next, making the same promise to love Yelena until he died. She had no snappy comeback as he had. She was too emotional at this point to even try to speak without the fear of the dam finally breaking.
“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss the bride.”
Clint took Yelena’s face in his hands and pulled her in for a kiss. The audience cheered for the newly wed couple, however they were so lost in one another that they could barley hear them.
Clint took Yelena’s hand and they walked out of the ceremony, their guests following closely behind. They waited for a few minutes, greeting everyone and thanking them for coming, before getting into the limo they had arranged to take them to the reception. As they sat together, alone, waiting for their respective parties to show up, Clint kissed Yelena again.
“I’m so happy,” she said when they pulled away.
“I am, too,” he said.
“I never thought I would be married. This all feels like a dream.”
“Well, I promise not to wake you up then.”
They both chuckled. Yelena held Clint’s hand, running her thumb over his new wedding ring. It was so shiny, like her own. So new. So perfect.
“I could feel her there,” she told Clint. “I know that sounds crazy, but I swear I felt Natasha there with us.”
“That’s not crazy. I could feel her there, too. I had a dream about her last night, actually.”
Yelena looked at her new husband with curiosity. “What happened in the dream?”
“We were at the reception hall, but no one else was there just me and her. I was sat at that long table where the bride and groom and their parties sit, and she just walked up to me. She leaned on the table and looked down at me and she said, Clint, you know I love you, but if you hurt my sister I will put you through the worst hell imaginable.”
Yelena started to laugh, which led to Clint laughing as well.
“Of course she did! Even beyond the grave she is threatening you,” Yelena laughed. “A big sister even in death.”
“I’d believe her, too. She’d probably come back and haunt me, or when I die she’d throw me off of a cloud repeatedly.”
“I guess you’ll just have to make sure you won’t hurt me then.”
Clint cupped Yelena’s chin and leaned forward to kiss her gently. “I could never dream of hurting you.”
