I did feel semi-embarrassed showing these, but now just very proud of where I've come from. These are the first drawings I made for artistic purposes, EVER! Until this point, I was always that selfish/uninformed dummy who thought art was a skill given by blood or learnt early in life, not through repetition. How wrong was I. Not only has this given me freedom to express myself through a medium, I feel such purpose going through the motions of artistic setbacks and progression. You gotta take the good with the bad and learn from this experience (That's the main lesson I've learnt over the past 12 months)

The best part of this all is watching my characters come to life! These blorbos that were stuck in my mind are now in front of me on a canvas, physical or digital. and I love them all the more that I made them!!!

Made another one of these fake game dialogue boxes because they are honestly so fun. This time with a new Nautical Horror concept character.

Obviously if you know ur fish then you will recognise the mouth parasite as a Cymothoa Exigua, or the tongue-eating louse! Which enter a fish though the gills and attach to the tongue and severing it, feeding off the host's blood and mucus! LOVELY!

Dimiclaude Week 2022 day 1: supernatural. Dragon-Claude meets a vengeful spirit in a forest.

11/28/2022. Pencil drawing, referencing S.H. Figuarts Body-kun (using fist from Rihito Takarai version Body-kun) and Figma Male Swimsuit version 2, as drawing models. Inked with Stabilo pens, Copic Gasenfude brush pen, Zig Clean Color Real Brush, and Copic Multiliner 0.25 and 0.03 pens. Colored with Copic markers and ShinHanArt Touch markers. Some clean-up with Copic blender 0 marker, Gelly Roll white gel pen, white-out, and Krita. Marker bled over ghost hand and cloak; fixed in Krita.

I'm still learning to draw digitally, but I thought I'd try to add a background in Kirta. Also made a little darker for a night scene. Not sure if I did that right though. I'll need more practice.

Claude's costume is a combination of his Barbarossa alternate outfit and his 3Hopes outfit. I just omitted more parts of his clothes, especially baggy parts, because I'm bad at drawing fabric, I'm tired, and it's easier to not draw clothes. lol

I've been wanting to go back doing art, after few years of kicked-in-the-balls-downhill-shenanigans given by nature's command. So what apps do you use for drawing and helping you to get better at it? What keeps you motivated? What should I try to prioritize to make it more fun and ,also , any minor art tips? Your art is amazing, I get happy when I see it my dash. I hope you have good week!

i'm a desktop artist, currently using clip studio paint, but the vast majority of my pre-2021 stuff is made using kirta (which is free!)

my biggest advice with making art is to honestly? care less. if you're doing this as a hobby and not professionally, you really gotta prioritize making yourself feel good with the things you draw! make fanart, draw your ocs, shitpost, just scribble out some stuff! have fun with it!

in terms of improvement, i do say it's important, since feeling good about your art typically also means learning how to draw better - but at least in my experience i think i've done an actual study like thrice in my life :-) i am aware that i am. sort of an extreme outlier - i just had undiagnosed adhd my entire life and i draw like 600-1000 things a year give or take for the past like 6 years so i was bound to improve somewhat eventually. BUT! the biggest art tip i can really give is just to take inspiration from artists you look up to! if you see some art that you're really just like. WOW that's cool i wish i could do that -- say to yourself, what makes my current way of drawing things different from the art style of that artist i look up to? then you analyze it, and have those small revelations from looking closely, and over time your art is gonna improve!

OH also references! i like to just use google images and/or pinterest for things typically! a lot of people would try and find the Perfect Reference - whether that be a facial expression or pose or outfit or whatnot! i find it much easier to find the the references i need by combining a bunch of different things together.

The Hare was once boasting of his speed before the other animals. “I have never yet been beaten,” said he, “when I put forth my full speed. I challenge anyone here to race with me.”

Qintir lykirī vestretas, "Aōhon āhinnon jiōrza."

The Tortoise said quietly, “I accept your challenge.”

"Kesy sȳz pirtiapos issa," Hunes vestretas; "Va mōriot aō vamiot lilagon koston."

“That is a good joke,” said the Hare; “I could dance round you all the way.”

"Aōhon āeksākonon keliemās vapār ērintā," Qintir udlitas. "Dakonī īlos dakogon?"

“Keep your boasting till you’ve beaten,” answered the Tortoise. “Shall we race?”

So a course was fixed and a start was made.

The Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course.

When the Hare awoke from his nap, he saw the Tortoise just near the winning-post.

The Hare ran as fast as he could, but it was too late. He saw the Tortoise had reached the goal.
