the exit
Tumblr media
pairing: john b routledge x fem!reader
summary: john b promised you two find each other again. so why was he with sarah cameron ?
warnings: angst
Tumblr media
after big john had disappeared, john b changed. and rightfully so. he didn’t know where his father was or if he was okay. he had a lot to deal with.
you guys had been dating for a year prior to that and while you loved him, you knew everything was taking a toll on him. he expressed to you how he felt he wasn’t giving you enough in the relationship and wanted to take a break.
you agreed. although it broke your heart, if it made things a little easier for him, you would deal with it. you guys remained friends and you always looked out for him.
bringing him food, making sure his house was clean, making sure he took care of himself. it was almost like you two were still dating. which over the months was brought up a lot. finally being together again and being happy.
when john b came to you about finding gold, you thought he was insane.
but he believe it existed, so like always you helped him. so far, it seemed like the gold actually existed. you guys were planning to go down and get it eventually, but as john b called everyone over to meet at the château, you were a little nervous.
not knowing exactly what to expect. but you definitely didn’t expect him to bring sarah cameron along.
kie was pacing as john b sat on the other side of the couch. pope sat on a stool by jj. jj sat in a chair and you stood beside kie.
"no effing way ! you brought her here ? so what ? she’s in on this now ?" kie yells. john b looks around for some kind of support from the others.
"i dunno." pope shrugs
"look, all i care about is her cut comes out of your share." jj says
"you know, i don't remember taking a vote. this is our thing. a pogue thing." kie says
"i gotta say, i’m just a tad uncomfortable with all of this." pope says
"thank you !"
"when are you not uncomfortable ?" john b snaps
"i dunno. i rode here on the back of jj’s bike pretty comfortably."
"it’s true. most relaxed i’ve ever seen him." jj says
"that’s cute, guys." john b says looking ahead
"you know we were all extremely comfortable until you brought her." kie says
"stop talking about me like i’m not here !" sarah says
"then leave."
sarah scoffs, "i told you."
"told him what, exactly ? that you're a liar ?"
"no, that you're a shit-talking bitch."
"oh, shit." pope says as the girls keep arguing.
"my money's on kie." jj whispers as they both pull out money.
you didn’t know what to think. you couldn’t figure out why sarah cameron of all people was here. no one had ever brought her up as a potential friend. only kie when she brought up how much she hated the girl.
you didn’t go to midsummers, so you obviously didn’t know about the conversation the others had the night prior when sarah showed up to give him the map.
all you knew was that john b got hurt and that was enough for you to be worried about him. nothing else mattered. now you wished someone would’ve told you.
"everybody shut up !" John B yells, "kie, you are my best friend, right ?" kie nods with a shrug. "and sarah, you're..." he chuckles, "you're my..."
"say it." she nods
"you’re my girlfriend."
your heart dropped.
"ohh... that's new." pope says
"she’s your girlfriend now ?" kie scoffs, "what was all that talk about you were just using her for information ? get a map, cut her loose."
"you said you were using me ?" sarah says
"no."
"yeah, you did." jj says
"you said those things." pope finishes
“and what about y/n/n ?” kie snaps. upon mentioning you, jj and pope turn to you.
"look, love just walked in, okay ?" john b says
"oh, vomit." kie says
"i didn't expect it. it just... it kind of happened. and i’m not gonna deny it. right ?"
"oh. that’s corny." pope whispers
"look, cut the bullshit, john b." kie says, "if she's in, i’m out."
"i’m not doing this."
"you are gonna decide."
"i can't !"
"i’m very interested, actually. me or her ?"
"both." he shrugs
“ooh.” pope whispers
jj whistles, "went for the hail mary."
kie storms off slamming the screen door behind her.
"it’ll be cool, right ?" sarah says, "i’m gonna leave."
"sarah, don't."
"gonna let y'all chat. let me know." she says before she storms off the other way. john b’s head falls back against the wall.
"i’d just like to say, you handled that beautifully." jj says. pope looks up toward you. you were dead silent and had tears brimming your eyes.
“y/n/n ?” he says softly. john b’s head snaps up. oh shit.
“i’m gonna go. i’ll text you guys later.” you say as your voice cracks. pope’s eyes following you as you walk off the porch.
“y/n.” john b calls out before following you.
your hands wipe at your eyes as tears finally escape. your steps quickening as you hear footsteps behind you.
“y/n.” john b says reaching out to you. you snatch your arm away as you turn to him.
“let go of me.” you snap
“can we please talk ?”
“there’s nothing to talk about.” you shrug, “you have a girlfriend now. you should go comfort her, you know ? or maybe your best friend ?”
“y/n, i didn’t mean for it to just come out like that, okay ? it really did just happen.”
“so then what were all those talks we had about finally being together ?” you say looking up at him, “you were saying how you finally felt like you were becoming your old self and you couldn’t wait for us to be together again. what was that ?”
john b’s mouth opens and closes as he stands there. “what was it, john b ?”
“i don’t know. i don’t know.” he says, “i did mean it. i did. everything i told you i meant.”
“so then why are you with sarah cameron ?” you cry. john b’s heart breaks at your tear stained cheeks, “if you meant that, you would be with me.”
“i’m sorry.” he replies weakly
“yeah, you’re sorry.” you chuckle, “you know what ? just count me out of this whole treasure thing. i don’t want anything to do with you.”
“y/n.”
“no.” you snap before walking off. john b’s hand falling by his side as he watches you.

Unreachable Dreams
Toji Fushiguro x Reader
Warning: Student teacher relationship. Mentions of sex. It may be inappropriate for some readers so you may avoid it. Not for minors.
Tumblr media
Somethings are never in your reach. May it be objects or people. No matter how much you want something or someone, it's simply never becomes yours when it already belongs to someone else, even if they are dead. In the similar way, a student may have a lot of genuine feelings for his teacher but for the teacher it's something trivial, of unimportance. Anyways, such kind of relationship was never meant to be.
Just like that you fell in love with Toji, who was your college professor. Everything about him was just so attractive, you found yourself intrigued in him, even when you didn't want it.
It all started when he first entered your class. You and everyone else indeed found him very attractive. With his muscular body and undeniably handsome face, each one of you was attracted to him. May it be a girl or a boy. Everyone wanted to spend more and more time with him. This unknown jealously that you felt whenever you saw him a bit too intrigued in any conversation, or whenever his attention wasn't on you alone, and so on. You knew it was just an unrequited love but how much ever you tried to control your feelings, they always got the best of you.
He always used to give you attention, as you were smart and attentive in his classes. You struggled hard to get perfect score all the time just to recieve praise from him. You often took non existent queries to him, just for him to explain it again even though you knew exactly every bit of the problems. You just wanted a single glance, a small talk or just a little bit of his attention as you knew it all too well that he can never be yours.
He was a grown man so obviously his preferences were different from a bunch of teenagers. Who knew, he might even be married. The thought of it broke your heart, but again it wasn't your place to speak.
One fortunate day you were alone with him. You were contemplating on confessing or not but soon got interrupted by him. Toji: Y/n, these days your attention doesn’t seem to be in class. Is anything the problem? Is something troubling you?
Ohh! How much you wished you could really tell him the truth behind your change in attitude as these days you just ignore him. Only to get caught by him like this. Out of site, out of mind. That’s what you initially thought before ignoring him, but he always catches you in this, asking you to stay behind just so he could ask you this question for the nth time. You are frustrated now, by his stubbornness and careless attitude. So you pick up courage and reply boldly.
Y/n: Yes, something is troubling me. Toji: What is it Y/n? You know you can share with me anything that troubles you.
Y/n: It’s you that is troubling me professor! Surprised by your sudden outburst Toji asks,
Toji: How come? What I did that offended you so much??
Y/n: You know, I really like you since the first day we met. I genuinely tried to avoid these stupid feelings but I just can’t anymore! I love you sir and it’s too much for me to bear it anymore. You might think it’s trivial but yeah I do love you even though I know a humble student shouldn’t hold Nancy feelings for their teacher. Toji was stunned by your sudden confession but he knew it all too well with the way you behaved around him. So he answered calmly.
Toji: What is it that you find so attractive about me??
Y/n: Just everything sir. The way you speak, the way you care for us and also the way you look. Use everything about you is so undeniably attractive.
Toji: But do you know what lies behind my smile, my demeanour or my looks? You have just seen the side I want to show to the world. A good side of me. Have you ever thought that this all so attractive man may have many regrets and secrets behind him and his scar? Have you ever thought about how ugly and scary my other side can be? Obviously you haven’t!! Teenagers like you can’t think of anything else but mere looks. I am a dangerous man Y/n! Something out of your likes and capabilities to handle. So just forget me and get together with someone of your caliber. You are a sweet girl Y/n, I don’t want you to waste your youth on someone like me who is old and of unimportance. So, move on and thanks for loving me.
Hearing all the harsh yet genuine words of your teacher, you were heartbroken but decided not to cry in front of him.
Y/n: Yes, I understand. It was a stupid mistake loving you, who is not of my caliber!!
You said this with a lot of hurt and tears in your eyes which you didn’t notice falling down as soon as you sprinted away from him. He felt a sting in his chest after seeing you in such a state but he had to do something about that naivety of yours.
Days went by and you just continued to ignore him and asking doubts only when you genuinely had some. He didn't approached you any longer but still checked on you from time to time, just to see you listening to music and silently doing your work. Soon your day of graduation had arrived, you took photos with him and others and said goodbye with a smile to everyone.
Years passed and you had a stable job now, which paid you good money and tou also had an apartment for yourself. Even after all these years you still had lingering feelings about Toji. Now being mature you understood his stance earlier but now that you are an adult, nothing can stip you from reaching towards him. So you gathered all your contact information and found out that Toji was retired now and living a normal life in a country side house. You packed bags and visited him.
His house was a small one but had a comforting aura to it. You rang the doorbell, soon the man you awaited to see for years opened the door. He was still as handsome as you first met him. He was half naked with his boxers on and a towel around his neck and wet hair. Maybe he just had a shower you thought. He looked a little surprised seeing you but definitely recognized you and welcomed you in with a smile. You entered into his hiuse which was an old japanese style house with fresh aroma of coffee numbing your senses. Toji excused himself and returned after wearing his black tshirt and pants. He sat down with two mugs of coffee. One for you and one for him.
Toji: Y/n... How have you been?
Y/n: I am fine.
Toji: How did you find me? And what brings tou here??
Y/n: Toji... I thought a lot about what you said to me on the day I confessed to you. You were right then, but now I am ready to accept you with all your flaws as I know no one is perfect. I was naive then but now I am mature and can definitely take care of you. So please be mine!
Toji: You surprise me everytime! Even after all this years you still haven't let go of me and that dream of yours?? Why??
Y/n: Because you are you Toji and no one can ever replace you. I loved you then and I still live you now, isn't it enough of proff for you to believe that I'll accept you with your flaws no matter what??
Toji: Y/n, I am widowed man with a son. Are you ready to accept me even after knowing this??
Y/n: Yes I am ready to accept you even after knowing this. Your son is my son now.
Toji: I was an assassin before I became a teacher, a sorcerer killer, my hands are dirty and bloodied Y/n!!
Y/n: So what?? It's in the past?! You changed your ways long ago. So I don't really care about what you did before you met me. Or anything about your past. I want to be your present and future Toji. So please accept me and be mine.
Toji: Ha!! You really never give up ha?? I guess I have no choice other than being yours then.
He said with a wide smile on his face which you had seen after so many years. But something was different, now that you think about it, this was the kind of smile he only gave to you, whenever he smiled other times it seemed half hearted not genuine. But now the man in front of you was genuinely smiling at you. Before yoy could wonder any longer, he spoke up.
Toji: I have always liked you Y/n. Much before from when you confessed to me. I know it may sound stupid but yeah I did fell for a my student who was younger than me. I fell for you even though I knew it was wrong. A teacher should never harbour any romantic feeling for his students, but I still fell. The way you genuinely cared about me and asked me if I was ok when there was a slightest crack in my facade. No one till now has ever seen though me. But you did. You knew exactly when I was having a bad day, or when I had bags under my eyes or when Ihad the slightest crack in my voice when I was tired. You always tried to cheer me up with asking random questions or leaving behind a can of strawberry milk on my desk for me. I kept a watch on you and your actions and found out that it was you who kept it at my desk to cheer me up. You knew exactly when I was having a tough time. When I rejected you that day, my heart broke a million times louder. But I had to do it! When I saw you enjoying lunch with your friends I always used to think what an old hag like me can do for you? Just nothing! So I deliberately pushed you away hoping that you will find the love of your life who can keep you happy. But here we are, I guess I just made you suffer more. I am really sorry for everything Y/n.
By now you didn't realised just how many tears slipped from your eyes. You were sobbing now. Toji quickly came to your side of couch and embraced you. For the first time in your life you experienced gis warmth. It was gentle with a slight burn to it. But you loved it. You both just stayed like that till you calmed down and glanced up at him.
Y/n: So from now on your are mine. I won't take a no as reply.
Toji: Yes mam I am all yours. You know Y/n up until now you were the only one who gave me a feeling of home whenever I was with you. .y world had stopped after my wife passed away. So I left my previous job and focused on being a good person for Megumi was her blessing. But when I met you I guess I found my way back to myself. Thanks for everything Y/n.
Y/n: You know what I always admired your honesty. Now you are mine Toji so let me mark you.
Saying this you pulled him in a kiss. It was a kiss filled with longing and passion. Toji grabbed your neck deepening the kiss. For the first time in your life you had defied all the rules of society and went against it, ro get your man and yoy had succeeded in it.
You pulled away from the kiss and attacked his exposed neck. You nibbled his soft flesh licking and moaning at the taste and soon bit it harshly, earning a yelp from him. You kept on sucking till the mark turned purple. All the time you were sucking on his sensitive skin, you could hear Toji moaning in pleasure which was so sweet to the ears, you considered it as your reward. You gave him many hickeys which covered his beautiful neck.
Y/n: Finally! I marked you! Now you are completely mine.
Toji: You sure are a nasty one! Now I would have to roam with them showing your ownership on me, ya?
Y/n: Ofcourse you have to! You can't cover them remember it. You should know who you belong to.
Toji: Then I guess you should also know who you belong to so let me help you remember it.
Saying this with a devilish smirk on his face, Toji carried you to his bedroom and marked you all over you body. Not a single inch was left devoid of his hickeys. That also includes your pussy and cervix being kissed and marked by his enormous dick.
You felt full and satisfied that night. As next day you woke up to Toji sleeping soundly by your side with your scrach and bite marks all over his back, arms and neck. You smiled at the site. Your legs were aching from the passionate night but you loved the sweet ache which will remind you of him everytime you try to move. Toji soon opened his eyes as you gently kissed his forehead
Toji: Good morning love.
He said in his groggy voice and pecked your lips.
Y/n: Good morning.
Toji;: I guess I don't mind this gorgeous morning view everyday.
He said smirking as your cheeks heated up with morning sun further illuminating your blush. As Toji will cherish this view for the rest of your both's lives.

ML Salt ~ The Cardigan Story
This is based on a true story.
Honestly, I always remembered this story because it constantly made my Sister and Mum laugh when I told them I outed a liar at school by wearing a cardigan, they were so proud of me because what I did wasn’t mean and I wasn’t even doing it out maliciousness so I thought, hey why not put it in the ML universe?
This isn’t canon to my main series so no Rosina since there isn’t any need for her, sorry sweetie.
And since I doubt Mlle Bustier would never out Lila, I’m changing the teacher to someone who actually has a backbone.

I know you may not wish to be tagged for one-shots, but I thought you might enjoy some salt I was able to come up with.
Also, I wrote this in one day so I’m extremely proud of myself.
***
If you told Marinette that Lila’s reign over the school would end over a cardigan, she would tell you you’re as crazy as she was about Adrien.
A lot.
But, she did just that.
She had to thank Adrien really, the ‘advice’ he gave her was what really pushed her.
She wouldn’t outright expose her, no, she had tried that before and look where that got her, near expulsion that’s what. And not one of her friends tried to stick up for her. She always remembered that glare Alix gave her, and since then she had been ignored, turned away by them.
Even after Lila came out with ‘the truth’ she was still seen as an overly jealous girl.
“Lila’s promised she hasn’t lied about anything else she’s said to us, it only acts up around people she doesn’t know as well, maybe next time, instead of being jealous you should give her a chance and stop being a baby. Girl this all could’ve easily been avoided if you weren’t so Adrien crazy”
Really? They actually believed that load of crap?
Whatever, Marinette was done, done with everyone.
If they wanted to show her how wrong she was then she’d let them wait until hell would frost over, because fat chance that would ever happen.
If Marinette was proud of one thing about her then it would have to be her stubbornness to get to the truth.
And she could be extremely patient.
***
It was just an average day at Collège Françoise Dupont. There weren’t any Akuma’s caused by anyone the previous day so Marinette was finally able to have a good night’s rest, something the exhausted teenager really missed.
She felt so re-energised she danced in the kitchen as she made breakfast without a care in the world.
.
Before she fell over that was.
“…Owww”
“Careful dear, you wouldn’t want to be hurt before school hours, now just sit tight and I’ll get you something to eat,” Her Maman said. Marinette felt grateful. After breakfast, she gave her Parents a kiss before leaving.
She had loving parents that supported her every beck and call.
…Well most of the time, but that didn’t matter, she would never let Lila manipulate them ever, her Parents were off-limits.
By the time she arrived at school she was one of the first ones there, Nathaniel in the back drawing his comics, texting Marc as well, it seemed like he was in his own ‘do not disturb’ bubble. Max was talking to Markov about some new type of game, and Rose and Juleka were just cuddling.
She made her way to the back feeling a positive emotion before exhaling.
Because it was about to be ruined.
Lila walked in with Alya, Nino and Adrien by her side.
She was telling a story about her ‘one of a kind cardigan-
Wait-
“My Grandmother made this cardigan especially for me carving her signature on as well, it’s the only one in existence because shortly after she made this, she ended up being in a terrible accident that left her bedridden.” They pandered to her of course. But for once she wasn’t focusing on the lie but the cardigan.
Oh, Lila’s only gone and done it now.
“I’ve always wanted to wear it, but I didn’t want it to end up ruined by someone” Her gaze casually went up to a lone bluenette, but she really wasn’t bothered.
“Don’t worry girl, I’ll keep a watchful eye on your cardigan for you. Ain't nothing gonna come between me and my besties property” They hugged before sitting down in their spaces.
‘Oh my god, I have a plan’ Marinette had that thought circled around her head until break. It was all she thought of.
Mind you, she wasn’t trying to expose everything she’d done, just that one lie. And that would be enough.
As soon as the bell rang, she was ready, she gathered her stuff and rushed home.
And thank god as well, Lila would not shut up about that cardigan, through Literature, Science and PE, it was constantly my Grandmother made it for me this, it’s the only one of its kind that.
Ugh, she wanted to rip her ears out at some point but had to endure it. No one else was bothered since they all believed her, even the teachers!
Yeah, you don’t really need any proof if it was handmade, some of Marinette’s earlier stuff didn’t have her signature on, but still, it was the principle of the matter!
And she could right that wrong.
In her room she was frantically searching for that item as Tikki dodged different articles of clothing, one hit her as she wasn’t looking, and she was down for the count.
“Marinette what are you looking for?” Marinette paused to look back at Tikki before continuing a bit calmer.
“Lila’s been lying about that cardigan and this time I can prove it.” Her eyes lit up as she lifted a cardigan up from her cupboard.
“One of Maman’s friends gave this to me a few years back, it was one of the reasons I got into fashion because of how soft it is and I wanted to replicate that. Don’t you think it looks familiar?” As Tikki looked over it her eyes widened, she knew Lila was lying anyway but she had no idea Marinette had definitive proof of it.
“That’s the same cardigan Lila has!” Marinette nodded before wearing it.
At least it still fit.
“But Marinette I thought we were gonna take the high ground?”
“Tikki it's tiring having to listen to them being lied too. I may not want them to be my friends anymore, but I just want the lying to stop. If I go and tell them that she’s lying with this as evidence they’ll clearly see she’s lying”
“But outing her like that won’t make it better!” Marinette wished she could respond with ‘are you sure’ but didn’t want to piss the mini-god off.
“Fine, what if I just wear it until someone notices, that way I’m not actively looking to publicly shame her? Better?” Tikki gave a reluctant nod, she knew her chosen wouldn’t let up about the situation, besides this whole thing was really just pettiness, nothing too serious. If no one noticed nothing bad would happen.
“Bye Maman, bye Papa” As she began walking back, she grew a bit nervous with her plan.
What if Lila made a whole other lie about her cardigan? What if she lied that Marinette had stolen it out of jealousy and everyone would try to take hers? She’d have to run away and live with a secret identity, all before getting caught and going to prison, and she’d never have her three kids and her hamster named-
“Ahem Marinette, is thou there?” A hand brought her out of her trance
“Ahhh!” She waved her arms before composing herself and seeing D’Argencourt in front of her.
“Ah, yes Monsieur?” How long had he been standing there? How long had she been rambling in her head?
“As I was saying, these new garments of yours, where did they originate from?” It took her a while before realising he was talking about her cardigan, she was so used to wearing her jacket it felt strange she had changed.
“Ohh this, well it was a present from Maman’s friend. They were on sale a few years back, so I thought I’d wear it again” He furrowed his brow before telling her to carry on with whatever she was doing.
“Well, that was weird. Do you think he liked the jacket?” Tikki ponded as her head ever so slightly popped out the small handbag.
“He’s always been weird Tikki. But whatever, let's just get back to the classroom.” All she had to do was wait.
***
‘How the hell hasn’t anyone noticed yet?’ Marinette was secretly fuming in her mind right now. None of her classmates noticed the change in her outfit.
Not one.
Bustier did however, the bluenette was sure because she’d see her teacher quickly glance from Marinette to Lila but never said a word. Probably thinking of that whole, ‘be the bigger person’ crap.
And not even the excuse of maybe Bustier didn’t know, bs. By the time break happened everyone in the school knew about that damn cardigan so don’t get her started.
‘Oh well, looks like that’s it. My petty revenge came flat… At least Lila didn’t pull a Marinette ruined my belongings stunt’ That would’ve been the last thing she needed.
Knock Knock Knock
The door opened before Bustier could reply, a teacher would reprimand a student for this type of rudeness, but it wasn’t a student.
It was a teacher.
And it was Monsieur D’Argencourt.
‘What the-’ Marinette didn’t remember this part of the plan.
“Excuse me Caline, but I need to interrupt the class for an announcement.” Bustier was about to deny but D’Argencourt the stubborn teacher as he was, walked straight on through ignoring whatever Bustier would’ve said.
“Lila Rossi, may you please step in front of the classroom?” Lila looking completely confused let go off Adrien, much to the relief of the boy, and walked in front of her desk.
“Marinette Dupain-Cheng?” He didn’t need to repeat the command.
Yes, command not a request.
“Can I ask you where you got your cardigans from?”
“Armand, I don’t think this is appropriate-” He shot a glare back at the teacher.
“I can assure you this won’t take long if I’m not interrupted”
Lila looked over to Marinette and realised with a sinking feeling what was happening. But she would win this time. Just like all the others.
“My Grandmother made this specifically, you see-”
He held a hand up to silence her.
“Yes, that’s quite alright, and Marinette would you like to repeat what you said before?” As Marinette did just that Lila was seething, he cut her off. How dare that simpleton cut off Lila Rossi!
He would pay.
“Well, it appears one of you is lying, and I expect that person to own up to it now” The class gasped as they all looked expectedly at Marinette, they knew she was petty but to do this was so low.
Lila looked at her smugly, she had tried to play with fire but got burned in the process. How could she even think she’d get away with this?
“I was talking about you, Lila Rossi”
“Eh, what?” The class gasped as they tried to say of course Lila was innocent, Marinette was the one lying. Or that Marinette must’ve tricked him.
He shot a glare towards all the class members as they instantly shut up.
“I don’t remember this being a class discussion, if I want your opinion, I will ask for it. Understood?” They nodded before giving sympathetic glances towards the brunette, D’Argencourt almost had the urge to shout at their incompetence but alas they were kids.
“I can tell you why you are lying Lila, with a photo. But as I’m feeling generous, I will give you one more chance to reveal yourself.” The class was silent as they all looked on in anticipation.
But Lila stood her ground defiantly, as if he actually had proof-
Oh…
Oh no she’s doomed…
“Then I don’t suppose this looks familiar? Hmm?” On his phone was a picture. Lila immediately lowered her head, too ashamed to look him in the eye.
3 guesses of what it is?
No.
.
.
No one?
.
.
Too easy?
.
.
Ok, it was the cardigan.
And at a fairly cheap price. No wonder she had it in brand new condition.
“I first knew you were lying once I saw Marinette wear the exact same one, however, hers was clearly worn out, evidently she has worn it for several amount of years. You had already messed up when you said it was the only one made. So please…” Lila looked up to see D’Argencourt giving one of the most frightening glares of the century.
“Don’t ever lie about anything to my face or anyone ever again, you will be court out and I will be keeping an eye on you. Is that final?” She meekly nodded her head, trying to give a frightened appearance to make him have sympathy but he was immune.
“That will be all. I hope your class has learned a valuable lesson of not taking things at face value” And with that, he left. Leaving Marinette with a different impression of her PE teacher, it seemed he didn’t like liars all that much.
Marinette smiled, her plan worked, and she didn’t even out her herself. Tikki surely can’t be mad at her now.
Bustier tried to get the class to go back to normal but she couldn’t. The class erupted into a screaming fit, asking how Lila could lie about that sort of thing?
It wasn’t until someone unexpected said the next few words she wondered if this was a dream.
“Hey if Lila lied about this what else did she lie about? She even said herself she doesn’t lie to her friends but that was a lie” That made the class tick as they soon realised and soon torn into her about it.
Leaving Lila, a ‘sobbing mess’ on the floor. All before she stopped that fake display and arguing back.
But the one who said that…
Was Adrien.
He was able to slip by the crowd and stand next to Marinette.
No words were said, she knew what he would’ve said even without the noise.
‘I’m sorry’
It was a start, and maybe through time, she could start trusting again.
But for now, she just wanted to enjoy this chaos…
.
.
Before there was an Akuma alert.

I want more D’Argencourt I want more D’Argencourt I want more D’Argencourt. I probably screwed his speech but oh well this is salt, doesn’t have to be accurate.
Phew, hope you enjoyed it, sorry its shorter than the others but this happened when I was in Year 5 and I was 9/10 years old. Woo 10 years ago, god that makes me feel old. Also, not everything was exactly this way, the teacher did out the person in front of the whole class, but she admitted it and went back to her class, we had two classes for maths. Anyway, I actually have to give Lila credit compared to the liar we had at our school, this person actually knew I had that cardigan and actually complimented me on it like months earlier and still had the audacity to say that. I think that’s the reason why I think if I was in their world I wouldn’t believe Lila because I already had a Lila at my school who would always say they’ve done the exact same thing as we had (They even said they had the same Aunt as me living on the same street, crazy right). Mind you they never said anything to me, I think they were too embarrassed plus, I was a goody little two-shoes there.
Anyway I really hope you enjoy it and if you like real-life stories so much I can always try to ask my friends for more ideas, I did have like some slightly toxic friends there that I may be able to tell you about but I’ll try to think how later.
Cya next time.

I didn't see much of Arthur for a couple of days. Things were strange at the camp, there was no sense of permanence at all, there was plenty of talk about what next, where next? Some people had their answers, but mostly the camp was quiet with everyone in their own bubble of quiet contemplation. Everything had fallen apart in a matter of days and suddenly everyone had to figure out what to do next.
I just waited patiently, doing what I could for the group. I hunted and provided some meat for everyone to fill their bellies with, it helped us to keep warm. It wasn't the toastiest of locations, so far north, but it would do until we had our plan.
Arthur had spent the past two days with Charles. They had broken Eagle Flies out of prison after nightfall and they were up first thing the following day to be with Rains Fall. He was meeting with the army; things were not good and he was hoping to salvage some sort of deal or relationship of trust. That's where they were as I was sitting by the fire, wrapped up in a blanket and keeping an eye on Jack for John and Abigail, who were nearby discussing their plan. All I knew of it was they were wanting to get as far away from this place as possible. I wondered if we would ever see them again, or if they would keep on going further and further until the only evidence we'd ever have of their existence was a letter in the post once or twice a year. It made me sad to think about it, but I couldn't for one second protest it. We couldn't have much of a happily ever after, not after the things we'd done. We just had to make the best of things.
"What're you doing, Jack?" I called out when I saw him wandering a little too close for comfort to one of the geysers.
"Just looking," he shouted back to me, though he stopped and turned around to smile at me. He was still smiling. It astounded me, honestly, he'd taken everything so well.
He did ask about Dutch once or twice, wondering when we were going back to him. Abigail was usually the one to tell him the truth, but softly, carefully, while John and the rest of us sat tongue tied, unable to think of the right words to satisfy a four year old in such a situation. Jack usually responded with silence, and I couldn't tell if his silence was a signal of sadness or indifference.
I watched the boy as he picked up a pebble from the ground and then eyed up the geyser. I knew what his question was going to be before he opened his mouth.
"What would happen if I threw this inside?" He called. I exhaled a chuckle and went to answer, though the words got stuck. I didn't actually know.
"Uhh," I vocalised cluelessly, "I s'pose it'd shoot back out again."
"Can I try it?"
"Best not," I chuckled, "the speed that thing would come out– I don't know. I wouldn't if I were you, sweetie. What if it falls down and bops you on the noggin?"
"I'd be okay," he assured me, and I cocked my brow a little.
"Your momma might not be, I'm supposed to be looking after you. I imagine she'd toss me in there if you got hurt on my watch. C'mere."
He kept hold of the pebble but did as he was asked, and came trotting over to me with a pair of rosy cheeks.
"Sit by the fire, okay? It's freezing out here, ain't you cold?"
"No," he told me, his tone was high and it was very obviously untrue.
"Your nose'll drop off if you ain't careful," I warned, a little smirk on my face. He touched his pink nose and considered it for a moment.
"It didn't fall off when we were in the snow."
"The snow?"
"With Uncle Dutch and Hosea, and everyone else. Before you were here," he said, gazing down at the rock in his hand, scratching at a piece of mud caked onto it until it gathered under his fingernail. He wiped it on his trousers.
"Ohh," I nodded, I'd heard about it before, their short stop at Colter after the Blackwater fiasco. "Wow, seems like a long time ago, I bet. You've been to so many places since then, ain't you?"
He hummed his agreement and nodded, not looking up at me.
"You like going to different places?"
"I guess so," he shrugged, "but sometimes I get bored."
I chuckled, "yeah, I think we all do," I smiled at him and stroked his hair for a moment. It was feathery soft and light, and I sighed at his innocence. Such a sweet boy. I had no doubt that Abigail and John loved him and were the best parents they could possibly be to him, but I wished he'd had more normal beginnings in life. And I hoped he'd forget some of the awful things he must've seen and heard.
"How're you feeling, about going away with your ma and pa?" I asked him.
"I don't know."
"You don't know?" I repeated, leaning my head on my fist as I leaned forward and down to his level.
"We're going away. Uncle Arthur, and you, and Sadie won't be there? And all the others?"
"No, sweetheart, we won't. But I'm sure it won't be the last you'll see of all of us, hm? Right now, your mama and papa only wanna take you someplace safer, you understand that, don't you?" I asked softly and he sighed, his little shoulders jerking with it.
"I guess so," his voice was small and I gave his shoulder a little squeeze.
"Keep your chin up, little prince. Your parents love you to the moon and back, a million times over. You're gonna be okay," I smiled at him, even though he was staring at the rock. I considered it for a moment. "Can I see that?"
He looked up at me in question, and noticed that I was looking at the rock. He paused for a second before handing it over. I inspected it for a moment, it looked much smaller in my hand than it did in his but it still filled up most of my palm. I clutched it tight in my hand, then looked at Jack as I kissed my knuckles. I closed my eyes for a few moments, and I heard him giggle.
"What're you doing?" He questioned and I scrunched my face up, shushing him softly.
"I'm concentrating," I murmured, and continued the performance for a few more moments, his giggles continuing until I slowly cracked one eye open, and then the other.
"What did you do?" He stood up and turned to me, his hand going to mine, trying to pry my fingers from the stone, his cheeks round and rosy with his grin.
"I filled it with my love Jacky, and a little extra that I got from Karen, Mary Beth, Tilly, Hosea, Kieran, Molly, Sean, Mr Trelawny, Reverend Swanson, Mr Pearson, Uncle…" I made a show of gasping for a breath after listing off so many names, then swallowed before deciding to mention the names which followed, "and Javier and Bill too, and Mr Strauss… and Dutch."
My voice had wavered and I needed a second to compose myself. I cleared my throat, and was grateful that Jack was preoccupied by looking at the grey lump of rock in my hand. It was warm from my body heat and he gasped a little when he took it from me, marvelling about it's temperature.
"But it's a big rock. Plenty of room for more love. How 'bout you ask everyone to hold on tight to that rock, and put all their love and care into it. So, as long as you've got that, you'll be safe, and you'll be able to remember all of us and know that we ain't ever leaving you, not in our hearts."
"Okay!" He did a little jump and squeezed the rock in his hand again, holding it to his chest with the biggest smile I'd seen all year. It warmed my heart despite the freezing temperatures. I glanced up to where Lenny was sat wrapped up in his winter coat, a book in his gloved hands.
"Why don't you go ask Lenny if he don't mind taking a break from reading?" I suggested, and Jack immediately spun around and ran over to him.
I watched him from a distance, as he excitedly explained the concept. Lenny chuckled and looked up at me from across the camp. He put his book down, laced his fingers together and pushed them out to stretch out his hands before giving them a shake and rocking his head from side to side, limbering up before taking the rock from Jack and cupping it tightly between both hands and squeezing it as hard as he could, eyes intently focused on them. I grinned and laughed to myself, loving his commitment to making the boy smile. I knew everyone would be just as eager to please, not afraid of making a fool of themselves.
For the rest of the afternoon Jack went around the camp asking people to contribute to the pebble. I was glad to have given him something to amuse him, and perhaps something to remember us all by, even if it was just a simple rock. It would be nice if he remembered us all each time he looked at it, if it didn't get lost along the way during whatever trips he and his parents were about to embark on.
In the late afternoon Arthur came back. Charles was not by his side but he quickly reassured us that he had simply gone to visit the Wapiti Reservation after the negotiations hadn't exactly gone to plan. I tried not to listen to the details, despite this horrid feeling that built in the pit of my gut as days went by. I kept trying to reason with myself that Arthur had been putting his life in danger far longer than he had known me and had always come out alive. It didn't stop the voice in my head that would whisper about his luck running out…
Before I spiralled into those thoughts I got on with preparing dinner. As long as I had Arthur back in my arms at the end of the day, whatever chaos had found him while he was gone was not worth thinking about. Torturing myself was not going to help anyone, especially not Arthur, who would no doubt grow tired of my whittling about his well being. I just had to keep telling myself that soon this would all be over.
"Canada, I'm thinking. Would be their best chance. They can't stay here much longer after all of that mess we left behind after the negotiations today," Charles was saying over his helping of rabbit stew. He'd returned from the reservation, where he'd apparently spent the best part of the evening convincing them to start packing up to leave. "Rains Fall seems hesitant, not that I don't understand him.  They've been moved around enough, all they want is to settle and have peace so they can live."
"Doesn't seem like they'll be able to do that here though," John said, and Arthur murmured a sound of agreement.
"He's coming to terms with that I think. He knows they'll have to move on sooner or later, it's just hard for him to accept right now, even harder for Eagle Flies. He's even more against the idea," Charles replied.
"He's got a lot of passion and fire in him, that man. He ain't quite learned though, that sometimes passion like that can get you killed," Arthur said. Charles silently nodded in agreement and looked down at his plate. "Canada, you say?"
"Canada," Charles nodded. "And I'd go with them."
"Really?" My brows raised. A quick, sharp pain went through my heart as in a second it became reality that the group was splitting up. These people I had lived with for so long and come to love, we were all going separate ways...
"Yeah. I don't have any other ideas," he chuckled a bit, then shook his head and became a little more serious, "I like it, with them. I feel closer to my mother."
I smiled, comforted by the fact that even if Charles wouldn't be with us, he'd have a family.
"Arthur," I heard from behind. It was Sadie's gravelly whisper and my heart dropped. I knew what she was going to ask. Arthur, sitting beside me around the fire, glanced over his shoulder and nodded. Then he wordlessly leaned over to kiss my temple, and got up. He stepped over the log we sat on and headed away from the group with Sadie.
They were going to the O'Driscolls' hideout. More bloodshed. More danger. I took a breath and met Charles' eyes.
"I'm happy for you Charles. You deserve to be with people who care about you, who'll all keep each other safe. And the fact they also share your heritage, that's even nicer," I smiled at him and he nodded, "when do you think you'll go?"
"Soon as I've convinced them," he chuckled a little again, the corner of his lip lifting.
"I'll miss you," I told him. It seemed to startle him but only a little, he was often cool and calm and not even surprising words of emotion could throw him off for long.
"I'll miss you too," he said after a moment, and the words sounded almost like a revelation, like he also hadn't fully wrapped his head around the fact he'd be saying goodbye to us all until now. "We'll write to each other, all of us, yeah?"
"Definitely," I nodded, my smile widening, "and if I ever find myself in Canada, I'll have a free place to stay, right?" I teased just a little and he laughed.
"Of course.”

Can you write an imagine where the reader has a twin brother and he suddenly appears in the Twisted Wonderland universe, and everyone gets confuse on who's who.
This was quite interesting! Of course when I first wrote this, I only had Jade and Floyd imprinted into my mind.
Anyway, I hope this story meets your expectations! Thank you for requesting and have a lovely day!!
What if you had a twin brother? (Ft. Grim, Ace, Deuce, Jack, Sebek, Epel, Jade and Floyd) (Riddle and Trey are mentioned)
You were sitting by the window of your room. You had already finished your homework and it was almost time for bed.
It had been a few months since you first came to Twisted Wonderland, and over that time you regained some memories. You remembered who your family was, you remembered some old friends and you remembered some treasured memories you had before you had gotten yourself involved with Night Raven College.
But most importantly, you remembered a specific sibling of yours. He shared the same womb as you after all! It was your twin brother, (B/N). You were the older twin, by 5 minutes.
You two were identical twins. When you two were still babies, no one could tell you two apart! The only thing that helped the adults differentiate who was who, was a small little ribbon your mom would attach to your hair to tell people that you were the girl and the other was the boy.
Needless to say, you shared everything with him. Secrets, pranks, food and even clothes! He does the same to you too. You two care for each other a lot. If one of you gets bullied or heartbroken, you were 100% sure that the enemy would be taken care of the next day. No one, and you meant no one, gets to do something bad to your carbon copy and gets away with it scott-free.
You two had been through thick and thin together, getting away with pranks, helping one another study for subjects that the other wasn’t too familiar with and avoiding detention like it’s a plague.
The two of you were inseparable. Well, that was until you arrived at Night Raven College.
So there you were, reminiscing your pranks and your memories with your twin brother. You laughed softly while you remembered one of your more devious pranks. Grim noticed this, and crawled up to you.
“Yanno, (Y/N)? What’s wrong?” You snapped out of your daze and looked at Grim on your lap.
“Hmm? Oh nothing, I was just, thinking about my brother.” You said and petted the creature. You then let out a small sigh.
“I’d give anything to see him again.” You said as you looked to the crescent-shaped moon. After awhile, you found Grim asleep on your lap, you giggled a little and tucked him into bed. You got in yourself shortly after and went to sleep.
Little did you know, the mirror in your room started to glow.
You woke up the next morning due to your alarm blaring in your ears. You sat up, rubbed your eyes and started to get ready for school. When you were on your way to the bathroom, you heard shuffling coming from your room. You were immediately alarmed, the sleepiness that was once in you were gone like the wind.
“Grim? You awake?” You asked as Grim was the only reason for the shuffling heard from your room. But, he did not reply you. Now, you were kind of scared. It couldn’t have been the ghosts because the shuffling noise could not have come from them.
Nevertheless, you got into a fighting stance, ready to attack whoever was your intruder. Truth be told, the boys had taught you some fighting skills so you could protect yourself. Usually, Epel and Deuce were the ones who would teach you the most.
So there you were, in front of your door, walking in a step at a time. You saw a figure, hunched over your bed, looking at Grim who was still asleep. You slowly approached the figure, readying your fist as if you were about to punch them. You put your other hand firmly on the figure’s shoulder and turned him around, facing you. You were about to land the first hit.
But, you stopped.
As soon as you saw the figure’s features, you froze in place. They had (H/C) colored hair, (E/C) eyes and looked almost exactly like you. But they had a slightly shorter version of your hair. If someone saw you from afar, they would think that you’re punching a double of yourself. The figure immediately shielded their face, thinking they were to be hit by you.
“Please don’t hurt me! I don’t know how I got here!” The figure spoke.
The voice sounded so familiar to you, but you just couldn’t put your finger on it. You lowered your fist.
“Who are you? What is your name?” You asked the figure, still keeping a firm grip on their shoulder.
“(B-B/N), (B/N) (L/N).” The figure replied. You let out a small gasp.
It wasn’t possible right? The night before you were just reminiscing and thinking about your dear brother and how you wished he was there, now he is really there! But, why was he here?
“(B/N)? Is… Is it really you?” You let go of the figure and he lowered his hands.
“Y-Yes, do… I know you?” Your twin brother replied. You can’t help but feel slightly heartbroken at those words, but you recomposed yourself quickly.
“It’s me! (Y/N)! Your sister, remember?” You said to your brother and he widen his eyes.
“(Y/N)? (Y/N)?! You’re (Y/N)?! As in, onee-san?” Now it was your brother’s turn to grip your shoulders. You nodded furiously. He grinned from ear to ear and proceeded to entrap you in a bear hug.
“I… I can’t believe it! It’s really you!” You smiled and hugged back your carbon copy.
“I know, I know, why are you here though?” You released the hug and asked him.
“I don’t know, one night, I was remembering all our adventures together and the next thing I knew, I was here!” You thought for a moment, but you couldn’t figure out what.
“Hmm… Weird… But you’re here now!” You said and turned to him, he smiled back at you.
“Yes, but, where is here? What is this place? It looks like a dorm! And what is sleeping on that bed?” He questioned and pointed at Grim who was still asleep on your bed.
“Oh, I’ll tell you all about this place, just give me a moment to get ready for today. You can go to the common room downstairs and have a seat at the couch. Don’t worry about anything, it’s just the three of us in here.” You said and walked to the bathroom. Your brother followed your orders and sat down on the couch in the common room of the Ramshackle Dorm.
You got ready and saw that you had some time to spare. So, you headed to the common room and chatted with your brother. You told him how you first arrived at Night Raven College, how you were first treated as a handyman but after the chandelier incident, you were offered to stay in this dorm as the leader and with only one resident. You even told him about your adventures with your first-year friends and how all of you helped the other dorm leaders overcome their overblottings.
Your brother was immediately fascinated by all of this. Who knew such a world existed? Magic and potions? Talking creatures? He was absolutely awestruck. You giggled seeing your younger twin looking at you like a kid seeing candy for the first time.
You continued your conversation, seeing that you had time. You told him more adventures and he told you what your family were like back home. Grim had woken up 5 minutes ago to see the two of you sitting and talking.
Boy, was he confused.
“Yanno (Y/N)! We’re gonna be late if you don’t- WHY IS THERE TWO OF YOU?!” Grim shouted as he saw you and your brother on the couch. The both of you looked at the creature and back at each other. You guys blinked once and smiled at the same time. You brother proceeded to laugh while you walked over to Grim.
“Hahaha! Yep! You’re my sister alright!” You smiled and picked up Grim and introduced him to your brother.
“Grim, this is (B/N), my twin brother. He’s the younger twin.” You said and Grim looked at your brother.
“Ohh… Yanno, I thought you drank a potion that made you have a double of yourself.” Said the creature.
“No, that’s Cater-senpai’s unique magic.” You reminded Grim and he just shook his head.
“You two are really alike! Like those leech brothers, I can never tell who’s who.” Grim admitted. You and your brother shared a mischievous smile.
“Oh, we have a prank for that.” Your brother told Grim. “We called it ‘Switcherupper’.” You giggled and explained to the confused-looking creature in your arms.
“It’s when me and (B/N) switch places for a day to make fun of our family members. But we won’t pull that now, after all, we should introduce (B/N) to everyone!” You beamed at your brother.
“Would it be okay?” Your brother asked and you nodded.
“You could wear one of my uniforms and me and Grim can show you around campus!” You said and handed him one of your uniforms. Since Night Raven College was an all-boys school, they only had male student uniforms. Crowley gave you about 7 sets of the uniform so you won’t have to worry about doing laundry all the time, but you still did your laundry everyday.
So your brother wore one of your uniforms and the three of you left the dorm and walked to the campus. Along the way, you and your brother chatted, you two had so much to catch up after all! Grim would give his two cents whenever he was mentioned. The three of you walked to campus and you and Grim showed (B/N) the school.
Ace, Deuce, Jack, Epel and Sebek were on their way to the cafeteria. On their way, they heard a few familiar voices. They turned to see you, Grim and a boy walking.
Hold up, a BOY?!
They couldn’t believe what they saw. Did you get another friend to hang out with? Do you still want to hang out with them? Or worse,
Did you get a boyfriend?
Wait, hold it, I feel threatened. Reader-san send hel-
“Who’s that?” Ace asked.
“I don’t know, I don’t recognize him.” Jack replied.
“What’s he doin’ with (Y/N)?” Epel asked, his country accent slightly showing.
“Watch it Epel, your accent’s out.” Sebek said to the Pomefiore dorm member.
“Well, we should ask (Y/N). I mean, it isn’t like her to just get a new friend and shut us out.” Deuce said and the group agreed. They also agreed to make it as casual as they can.
Pffft, ‘casual’. As if lmao.
You were talking to (B/N) when the group approached you.
“And so Professor Crewel is most likely the teacher to help you with that sort of thing… I think.” You said to your brother and he nodded. “Now, for Professor Trein, you sh-“
“(Y/N)! Grim!” You and Grim turned to see your friends walking up to you. You failed to notice the dark aura surrounding the group as they walked closer to you.
“Ah! Guys!” You waved and smiled to them. Your brother then turned to see the group and they froze.
There’s… TWO OF YOU?
Ace and Deuce just stood there, mouths wide open while Jack, Sebek and Epel looked taken aback.
“(Y/N)! Did you mess up another potion again?!” Sebek asked you. You looked at them and back at your brother. You remembered Grim’s words on how alike you and your brother were if looked upon from far away. You just started to laugh.
“No! I never even went to Professor Crewel’s class today!” You said, wiping a tear from your eye. “This is my brother, (B/N). We’re identical twins!” You said to them and your brother greeted them with a slight bow.
“Hi everyone! Nice to meet you. Ah, you guys must be the friends my older sister was talking about!” Everyone then took a closer look at the both of you.
“Woah, you’re like those Leech brothers then?” Ace asked.
“Well, sort of.” You said to the group, shrugging.
“Come on! We’re going to miss out on breakfast if we don’t hurry!” Grim reminded you all and started to run to the cafeteria.
When you all got there, (B/N) went to get some food and you found a table to sit at.
“Ne, (Y/N), are you free after class today? Can we go practice some Magift?” Epel had asked (B/N), thinking that your brother was you. (B/N) looked at him and let out a small laugh.
“I think you’ve got the wrong dude, that’s my sister, not me.” Your brother pointed to you sitting at the table. Epel’s eyes widen, knowing he had made a small mistake.
“Ah, sorry, my mistake.” The Pomefiore dorm member said and accompanied your brother, asking if he needs anything.
On your side, Jack sat down beside you, thinking that you were your brother.
“(B/N), if there’s anything you need, we can help.” Jack said to you. You blinked at him and giggled.
“Nope, I’m (Y/N), that’s (B/N)!” You said and pointed at your brother, who was taking his food back to the table alongside Epel.
“ARGHHH! IT’S HARDER TO IDENTIFY YOU TWO COMPARED TO THE LEECH TWINS!” Ace yelled and everyone nodded their heads. You and (B/N) just smiled.
“You two are way too alike!” Deuce stated.
“Well, get used to it!” (B/N) said and the both of you laughed.
You let Crowley know that your brother had arrived at Night Raven College without a clue on how he got there. Crowley decided to have him, you and Grim become a student instead. So, your brother would also go to the same classes as you and live in Ramshackle Dorm.
Everyone except the first years freaked out when they saw the two of you. Riddle was slightly on edge as he thought your brother would be another Floyd, thankfully, Trey was there to calm him and told him that (B/N) would not be another Floyd.
The Leech twins were very intrigued.
“Ehh? Another koebi-chan?” Floyd asked when he saw the two of you as you were trying to show (B/N) to Mostro Lounge. You smiled and introduced your brother to them.
“I see, so you also have a twin.” Jade said to you and you just nodded.
“Ahahaha! There’s two koebi-chans! That’s great!” Floyd said, hugging your brother. You and Jade were having tea.
However, Jade thought he was having tea with your brother.
“It must be hard for the students to tell the two of you apart, right (B/N)?” Jade said to you as you sipped your tea.
“It’s (Y/N), Jade.” You had a small smile on your face when you saw Jade looking taken aback, almost dropping his tea cup.
“A-Ah, my apologies (Y/N), I thought you were your brother.” You just smiled at him.
“It’s okay, after all, you said it yourself. ‘It’s hard to tell the two of us apart.’” Jade just let out a simple laugh as the two of you watched your brother trying to get away from Floyd’s grip.
You had made everyone’s lives far harder because you and (B/N) kept pulling pranks on them. Your ‘Switcherupper’ prank was the most used one out of all the others and you and (B/N) had a good laugh out of all of them.
It took everyone months to tell the two of you apart. When they finally did, you were glad.
Sure, it might mean your pranks won’t work on them anymore, but you were still glad that they welcomed and accepted your brother as an official student like you.

Ramblings: part of the lost collab, all based on the prompt ‘only when you are lost does the red string of fate appear’ organised by the lovely @yacoka who is a wonderful writer and an even better friend 😚 also a big thank you to remy for beta-ing <3
---
You stare in exasperation as the red string fades into sight, the familiar warmth wrapping back into existence around your finger. It was only visible when one of you was feeling lost, and you certainly knew where you were. Tetsuro was only meant to be coming home from town - how did he get lost?
You pluck at the string.
Seriously?
An answering pull against your pinky.
Shut up.
Rolling your eyes, you turn back to the horse in front of you.
“That man, eh?” You scrub the brush along a thick-boned leg, scrunching your face away from the cloud of dust that puffs out. “Probably one of the smartest people this side of the island, knows the stars like the back of his hand, but can’t even find his way across his own fields.” You huff, watching as the string disappears again. “The cows know their way home better than he does, honestly…”
Bess rattles her head, mane flying, and you sigh. “Ahh, you’re right, I guess we love him anyway.”
“You guess?”
You start, twisting at his sudden presence.
“Stop! Doing that!” You huck the brush at him and he ducks, grinning.
“Hear that Bess?” he sings, sidling up to the horse and scratching her forehead as she noses at his pockets. “She loves me.”
“And I married him too,” you lament. “What was I thinking?”
“Something I ask myself every day,” he says softly, eyes alight. You mellow, as you always do for him, and wonder if you will ever get sick of that look.
“How’s town?” You ask instead, snagging a new brush.
“Good. Got offered a job.”
“Oh, who with?”
“Nekomata.”
You hum. “Down at the docks?”
“Not... exactly." You flick a look up when he doesn't elaborate, only to find him determinedly pulling Bess' forelock into a crude braid.
"And?" you prompt.
"He wants me as the navigator." He swallows, fingers still twisting in the coarse hair. "For an expedition.”
“Really?” You scrub at a particularly stubborn splatter of dried mud. "I thought he had given up on all that. What’s he planning?”
He doesn’t reply for another long moment.
"Depends on how quick the ice melts."
You tear your eyes away from your work; he looks wary. "But with what he mentioned to me, we’d be away… a year? Maybe longer?"
“Oh,” you breathe. Really, for a sailing expedition, that’s short. But it’s still a year. You're thinking of money, and supplies, and who will take over teaching his students while he’s gone, and he’ll definitely need a new coat, and oh that's such a long time-
“I don’t have to decide immediately.” You pull your gaze back into focus. He still looks nervous, but you know him - he might not always be the most expressive person, but he wears his passions with pride. And there are few things your Tetsuro loves more than the stars.
“You should go."
“Really?”
“Yeah.” You bite your tongue and start sweeping the brush along Bess’ broad back again. It’s not till he gently pulls your hands to a stop you notice how they shake.
“I don’t have to go,” he offers softly.
You sigh, not quite able to focus any higher than the hollow of his neck. “No. You should.”
His fingers are light under your chin, and you reluctantly let him draw your gaze up.
“Are you sure?”
And you are. Despite your reticence, you are; because at heart, he’s always longed to explore the world. You remember sitting with him in the summer, feet dangling in the creek and listening to his rambling dreams of travelling to the far corners of the world. He loves teaching - weaving stories from geography homework, gently coaching the younger kids through their sums - but you’ve caught him many a time just staring out at the sea, eyes unfocused and longing.
"I’m sure," you tell him with a genuine smile. "It just means I'm going to have to do all your chores while you're away."
He tsks, but there's already excitement building under the mock-glare. Giving Bess a final pat, he meanders back to the house. You listen to his cheery whistling and tell the pang in your heart he'll be fine.
He always comes home.
--
“Have fun. Don’t kick Yaku overboard, OK?”
“What’s this, huh?” The string hums as he twirls a finger through it, his voice low and amused. He twists it into a bow around a lock of your hair, an achingly familiar action that has the string glowing brighter against your skin. “You can’t be lost without me if I haven’t left yet, sweetheart."
He frowns, and you etch the image into your memory - it will be months till you see that pout again.
“Oh, hush you.”
Eyes bright and fond, he grins down and pulls you into his chest. For once, you stop thinking about tomorrow and just enjoy this final moment with him; the gulls’ cries tearing across the sky, the winter sun across your back and stiff breeze sweeping through your skirts. He is constant and unshakable, heartbeat steady in your ear, his chin pressed against your hair.
You draw back and poke him in the cheek.
“You come home, you hear me?”
The string continues to flutter between you, dancing in the seaward breeze as he presses a sweet kiss to your lips.
“Always.”
--
The second plate stares back at you.
Right. Of course.
You press your lips together and return the other plate to the shelf for the third time this week. Your lonely plate looks pitifully small on the uneven table, and the red string that sinks down to drape across it only adds to the ache in your heart.
You grip the string tight and try not to cry.
--
The drumming rain is muffled as you duck under the barn’s eaves. Shaking the water from your eyes, you peel off your now sodden coat. In the flickering lantern light, you can see how the heifer is huffing, swollen belly already heaving.
Crooning to her, you run a tired hand over the heifer’s rough hide and crouch down.
You shove wet hair off your face and sigh. The late nights and bad weather were only exacerbating an already stressful time of year, and of course this had to be the year your entire herd was calving. You wearily draw a pail of water and tsk as you grab the last towel off the side of the stall - it seems tomorrow will have to be a washing day too.
There’s a wet nose. There’s also a tail.
“That’s… not right.” you mutter, stumped.
It hits you a moment later - twins. She’s having twins.
“Ohh… uhh…” You know you can’t panic, but your thoughts just continue to speed up, desperately flicking through your memories because you know how to deal with a breech birth, but twins? Where do you even begin? There are two calves in there, and that's twice the number of things that could go wrong. Think. It’s only a few minutes over the hill to the Kagayama’s, maybe they-
The gentle tug at your hand startles you. The string is there, looped around one of the cow’s ears and floating out into the pouring night. Another tug comes, a little firmer this time.
You suck in a breath.
You send him a grateful tug back and get to work.
It’s messy and stressful, and the deep ache in your arms will definitely be worse tomorrow, but there's a pile of knobby legs and liquid eyes in your lap that more than makes up for the pain. You snag the old towel off the straw and gently wipe the nose of the first calf before helping it struggle to its feet. The cow blinks around and lowes softly. You grin and quickly swipe at the other calf, blowing gently on its nose till it snorts.
Your eyes are heavy, and you are already compiling a list of the thousands of things to do tomorrow. But with pride singing through your tired bones, you are content to sit, half-wishing he was here with you to listen to the rain beat down on the tin roof and proudly watch the calves take their first, wobbling steps.
--
“Endeavor."
“E-N-D...” Natsu scrunches her nose and you nod encouragingly, “E…”
The string appears. It’s sudden; not the usual fade-in of realization, but a tidal wave of colour that has it crashing into existence all at once.
“-A-V-O-R. Endeavor.”
You clear your throat, pushing past the lump. “Correct. Let’s have an early lunch everyone.”
The clatter of chairs is immediate, and you wait for all the kids to race out the door before sinking shakily back against the desk. You rub the string between your fingers - it’s hot and trembling, swaying drunkenly as if buffeted about by the wind.
You pull at it, questioning.
You pull at it again.
Again.
There is no reply but it stays, curling in the corners of your vision for the rest of the day.
--
The next morning it is still there. You bite your lip and bundle his old coat around you to go collect more firewood.
--
Day four. You stare into reflected, apprehensive eyes for too long before shakily wrapping the everpresent string into a bow around your hair. For some reason, it doesn’t feel the same as when he does it.
--
Yachi reads you off your total and you freeze, hand clutched around the small bag of flour. She looks at you oddly as your hair falls free around your shoulders.
There is a soft tug against your finger, faded by distance and ringing with reassurance, as the string finally, finally disappears from sight after the longest eight days of your life.
“Is everything OK?” she asks, mystified.
You dash the tears and drop the coins into her hand with a smile.
“Everything is perfect.”
--
The string fades in for the third time today and you snort. You’d like to imagine you can feel his annoyance even halfway across the world.
You give it a sharp tug for good measure.
Lost again, huh?
He pulls grumpily back, and you bite back a giggle.
“How’s that pain-in-the-ass husband of yours doing?” Ukai Jr. asks from behind the bar.
The string bleeds away.
You think of a ship navigating the perilous ice, of unknowable depths and old sailor's tales, of the maps you watched him plot that stretch into expanses of blank parchment.
You think of jokes thrown across candle stubs and empty plates, of a crew that have become more of a family than either of you have ever had.
You think of the furrow he gets between his brows when he’s puzzling something over, his poorly hidden glee at the sight of the open sea.
The string fades in again, and there’s a pull from his end before you can do anything.
Don’t.
You grin. “He’s doing just fine.”
--
You wake to birdsongs. The sun is just peeking over the hills, the red string curled quietly on his pillow. You send three tugs, watch the string ripple out the window and imagine it stretching out, out, out across the seas to him.
Today was usually a day just for the two of you; no chores, no work. Just sunshine and bad jokes and the simple enjoyment of being together. One time he had pulled you along to the neighbouring town's county fair. Last year, you had taken him to the waterfall for lunch.
It was meant to be his choice this year.
You twine the string around your fingers as you wait. It glows softly in the morning light, a physical manifestation of how deeply lost you feel on this special day. He's not gone; he's still here in the scuffed shoes tucked under the bed, in his notes piled high on the desk, but they're not quite the same as hearing his hisses from the kitchen, or being able to sink into warm arms at the end of a rough day.
His returning tugs are delayed, aching and soft - one, two, three.
Sighing, you force yourself out of bed - the cows aren’t going to feed themselves.
Happy anniversary, love.
--
Most days the string isn't visible at all. And that's fine. Really, it is. It means he's not lost, and no news is good news, right?
Anyway, you’ve become quite content in your own company. He’s been gone long enough that you’ve found your solo rhythm and it's by no means easy, but you manage to keep busy enough.
And yet, the string is a double-edged sword - a reassuring and tangible connection between the two of you, but one that fills you with longing heartache all the same. There are days when you so keenly feel his absence; days of no special importance, but days where his company would just make the monotony more interesting. The mundane days, where you find yourself wanting a hug and instead having to settle for imagining the blur of red in your periphery.
You can lose minutes simply staring at your hand, trying to will the string back into colour. Wishful thinking isn’t something you can afford to indulge too often, but some days, if you focus hard enough, you think you can feel the invisible string pressing around your finger.
Some days, wishful thinking is all that keeps you going.
--
“Hello, sorry.” You ignore the cheeky pull of the red string. He knows how you hate admitting you need help. “I’m a bit lost. Do you know where the blacksmith is?”
The man points up the road, explaining you need to go up past the post office and take a - twitch goes the string - and then follow the path that - another pull - and you should be there. Oh, but don’t - tug - because that will take you out of town.
You bite your tongue and thank the man, fond exasperation simmering in your chest. You might desperately miss him and his stupid antics, but you had almost forgotten how relentless his needling could be.
As you lead Bess away, you pull sharply on the string. Much to your dismay, it doesn’t deter him in the slightest - an incessant barrage of tugs pull against your pinky, singing with his amusement from half a world away. Huffing out a sigh, you carefully flip the string around your hand. It’s smooth in your grip as you wind it around your palm and close your fingers over it-
And yank the string sideways.
Silence.
A single, pouting yank back.
Pushing down the smile tugging at your lips, you stop infront of the woman sweeping the front step of the post office.
“Hello, sorry. I’m a bit lost. Do you know where the blacksmith is?”
--
A laugh is pulled from you, glee ringing through the air. Hinata’s hand is sweaty in yours, and you grip it tighter as you swing round and round to the music echoing across the field. The wedding party is still holding strong, even this late into the night, and the chatter and music is rvight at home in tonight’s warm summer breeze.
The song ends to cheers and you yell with them, high, unfiltered joy singing through your body. You drop into a chair, watching Hinata pull a giggling Natsu off the sidelines and head back out as the band striking up another well-loved tune.
The ever-present twinge of sea salt mixes with the sweet scent of the apple blossoms floating over from the orchard and you are content. The food was fresh and plentiful, Kiyoko looked gorgeous. And, you think smugly, Suga had cried before Tanaka did, so now Kinoshita owed you a beer.
The music slows, and your finger aches at the sight of everyone else partnering up. You had promised yourself you weren’t going to let memories overshadow your fun tonight. There’s too much love around for you to fully feel his absence anyway, but you still catch yourself missing him above the crowd, searching for the wink he’d send across the room before returning to his own conversations.
Someone clears their throat. The string curls and sways between bodies as Takeda smiles down at you, eyes crinkled in understanding.
“May I have this dance?”
--
You push hurriedly through the crowd, ducking between market stalls and wagons. There’s no string to follow, but you don’t need it to find him today. Asahi scrambles for the bolts of cloth you knock into and Suga yells something that gets stolen by the wind as you continue to run heedlessly towards the docks.
Lev is on the dock already, only just visible through the small crowd gathering. Yaku yells directions from the ship, and you can see Shibayama sitting up on the boom, Kai pulling the jib down, so where is-
There.
He’s talking with Nekomata, gesturing up at the mast. You know it’s probably important, that there are things to be done on the ship before the crew can leave, but he’s been gone 402 days and you’re calling his name before you can stop yourself.
He twists around, and for the first time in over a year you watch his face split wide. The crowd parts for you as you’re darting forward and he vaults over the side of the ship.
There are yells and whistles behind him but you couldn’t care less as you are swept into a tight spin, stumbling with him as you laugh. His salt-crusted shirt is coarse under your fingers, and when he kisses you he tastes like the sea; like salt-spray and dry rations and freedom.
As soon as your hands find his cheeks you pull back sharply. There's a scar, a puckered pink line that cuts across his cheek and up into his hairline. He watches you carefully as you trace it with a feather-light touch.
“I thought I told you to have fun,” you admonish gently.
“Who said I didn’t?”
You tsk. “What am I going to do with you?”
He grins, wilder than you remember, twisted a little by the scar, but full of familiar trouble. “Kiss me again, hopefully.”
(How you’ve missed that grin.)
“Can’t imagine why I’d do a silly thing like that,” you say, even as you press your own grin to his.
Maybe he’s still a little wobbly on his feet, and he’s definitely thinner than when he left, but when he twines your hands together - no string in sight - your heart settles.
He’s home, and you can’t really ask for anything more.

Wonder Woman 1984
Tumblr media
The first 3/4 of 2017’s Wonder Woman was my favorite film of that year. The last 1/4 was my least favorite film of that year. What can I say, I have a complicated relationship with the DCEU, and the part I keep getting disappointed by is the big smash-em-up, explosions everywhere, muddy mess of orange/blue filter in the “climactic showdown” between hero and villain. I just don’t have the patience for it anymore, and I was so hoping that the Jazzercise vibes of Wonder Woman 1984 would do something different.
As it turns out, this movie was trying to warn me like so many stories that have come before - be careful what you wish for. Just how badly did my wish go bad? Well...
I’d already heard some questionable things about the movie before I tuned in, so my expectations were tempered but I guess it was on me. I should have known better than to wish for a story with reasonable pacing, some kind of consistent tone, villains with discernable motivation, or a Wonder Woman movie that was actually about fucking Wonder Woman. I’m not even mad as much as I am puzzled. That and tormented by Pedro Pascal’s manic televangelist energy in my dreams.
Some thoughts:
I have never wanted to go anywhere as much as I want to in 2020, and the place I want to go more than any other is Themyscira. Love this first sequence. Why is the whole movie not about Themyscira??
If the Olympics were like this whole long Amazonian warrior triathlon, I would be WAY more into track and field.
Also I legit don’t understand the problem with her taking the short path? Like, it’s there for a reason? She just caught up to her horse? Someone explain this to me.
So this mall...basically the hub of American commerce in the 80s that was practically printing money, it made it so fast...is secretly a front for antiquities trading on the black market? And these unorganized-ass dipshit criminals who seemingly just walked in off the street and decided to engage in some light robbery today are after antiquities? Sure, Jan.
Ohh I miss Waldenbooks so much!
This thwarting of crime sequence in the mall feels so...cheesy. Schlocky, almost. Like a 50s comic book come to life. I dunno, it just doesn’t feel like the tone I was expecting. In the context of the whole film, we really blew our action load in these first 2 sequences, and also this is the last point in the movie in which Diana actually resembles her character from the first film.
I would also be stammery and blushy when talking to Diana Prince for the first (and second) time, but I’m kinda getting a gay vibe from Barbara. This meet-cute + date is definitely playing up romantic vibes. Kristen Wiig is so good at characters like these - in less than 2 scenes, I have such a clear picture of who Barbara is, what she wants, what she fears, and that’s all down to Wiig’s choices. [ETA: This makes it all the more infuriating when Barbara suddenly is like “I want to be an apex predator” when nothing about her character’s reaction to getting positive attention indicates she would want to start shitting all over everyone else.]
Pedro Pascal is skeeving me out as our villain Max Lord, which really just shows his range, because normally I love him and find him wildly charming in everything. But he’s playing this oil baron creep to the max, as they would say in the parlance of the 80s, and it makes my skin crawl.
The mechanics of how Steve Trevor returns are wildly confusing. Why is this other guy involved at all? Are we supposed to be ok with the idea of Diana fucking *some other dude’s body* without his consent just because Steve’s spirit/consciousness/whatever is inside the guy? Also that guy DEFINITELY got fired from his job after going AWOL for a whole week, right?
I am thrilled with Steve’s clothes montage. One of my favorite things in any 80s film, and his enthusiasm really sells it.
I do really like Diana and Steve playing detective, following clues, crafting theories. In spite of the absolute dumbassery of how Steve came back, Chris Pine and Gal Gadot have incredible chemistry and I do find their scenes together delightful.
I think that’s why it’s so frustrating to me the way their entire relationship was handled. If the whole point of the wish going bad is that it has a cost, wouldn’t it have been better, instead of making Diana weak, to have Steve slowly start to be more and more of an asshole - aka not the Steve Diana remembered and loved? Make her realize that the Steve she knew and loved is really gone and she has to stop letting his memory hold her hostage. Maybe his last moment of self-awareness would be realizing that this wasn’t who he really was, and she was better off just remembering who he was and moving on rather than trying to hold on to this thing that isn’t good for her?
The sequence with the fireworks made me emotional. The only time I’ve ever been on a plane on the 4th of July was when I was coming back from a visit with my uncle in Dallas. He had flown me, my mom, and my grandma down for a whirlwind trip, and we flew back the night of the 4th. I got to see fireworks from above for the first time, and it felt so magical. My uncle passed away 2 months ago, and feeling that magic again (via Diana and Steve) made me miss him and all the adventure he brought into my life something fierce.
Am I supposed to be like...anti- the idea of Barbara absolutely kicking the shit out of this drunk catcaller who attempted to assault her earlier in the movie? It feels like the film wants us to be like “oh no that’s bad” but my empathy goes on vacation for attempted rapists.
Like...did anyone do ANY kind of fact-checking on this script? The Maya haven’t been “wiped from the face of the earth” there are still 6 million of them living in Central and South America. Escalators were invented in the 1890s for fucks’ sake. PLANES IN THE 80S DONT WORK LIKE PLANES IN 1918. YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT ALL THOSE SWITCHES DO STEVE. Also...just because the plane is invisible doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist anymore. Isn’t the whole point of radar to detect things that you can’t, y’know, SEE? Seriously, how many people fiddled with this script until it turned into an incomprehensible mess?
Did I Cry? OK yeah, I did when Diana and Steve had their conversation after they escaped the White House. But I feel like I should have cried more then, as well as earlier when Diana tells Steve that she only wants this one thing. I love Gal Gadot in this role, but I do wish her acting expressed a little more emotional depth and honesty for the moments like this that should really tug on the heartstrings.
I know Wonder Woman is bulletproof, but are we saying she’s also...immune to electricity?
If there’s one thing that living through a global pandemic has taught me, it’s that we can’t rely on the inherent responsibility of every individual person to do the right thing in order to save their community (or the world). So the climax of this film really feels like a big ol’ fictional FUCK YOU to every person who has been quarantining since March as the US government twiddles their thumbs and relies on personal choice to lower infection rates. I know they made this film during 2019 and had no idea what would be coming, but this entire sequence was the most horrifying, short-sighted, offensive way to have good overcome evil I could imagine for a 2020 movie. “Just count on people to do the right thing and everything will be fine!” We’re WELL FUCKING PAST THAT, Diana.
And maybe this is my debbie downer pessimistic ass, but the message “the world is a beautiful place the way it was” feels like some real bullshit. Do you mean the world is a flawed, complicated place where beautiful things exist DESPITE all the violence, inequality, and poverty? Ok, that I’ll buy, for sure. But “Everything was fine the way it was!” is uhh not what I would have gone with. That’s a first draft edit if ever I heard one. Seriously, how did this make it through MULTIPLE studio drafts and no one thought to point this out?
I literally had to go back after the credits were over and rewind to figure out what happened to Pedro Pascal at the end. If I not only don’t care, but also can’t remember what happened to the villain at the end of the movie, that’s a big motherfucking problem.
I was giddily delighted by that first post-credits scene though! Probably the biggest moment of joy I felt during the film.
For being a Wonder Woman movie, it feels like there’s so little actual Wonder Woman IN the movie. The first film is rooted firmly in Diana finding her place in the world, understanding and coming into her power. This feels like she’s a bystander in her own life, and her most significant moments are always in the context of someone else’s narrative arc. And there’s nothing that comes even close to the breathless wonder of that No-Man’s-Land scene, aka one of the best superhero movie moments of all time.
This doesn’t have the knowing wink of Aquaman or the nuanced character arcs of Birds of Prey. It doesn’t have the childish glee of Shazam! or any of the nonsensical grimdark bullshit of Zack Snyder’s entire ouvre. It feels like Wonder Woman 1984 suffers the same fate as its protagonist - a profound lack of presence or drive. Sure there are some fun sequences, and the actors are doing the best they can with a weak script, but it’s just not enough to save it. In a year where I saw so few contemporary films (focusing more on catching up on past films I’d missed), I can’t think of one that disappointed me more.

Nightshade Part 2 - Momochi Chojiro Route
Tumblr media
I'm most excited for Chojiro (and Hanzo too I guess!) so yayayay~ I always liked how supportive he was towards Enju's growth as a shinobi and always trying to give her opportunities to do things outside of what she's used to so she can develop her own independence. It pains me to choose the option of standing up for Chojiro against Hanzo since it just makes the situation "worse", but seeing Chojiro be so kind to Enju and understand and appreciate that she didn't want them to see Chojiro in a bad light was so heartwarming. Ohhh, so Hanzo has been with the Tokugawa since he was 12 years old after they made an offer for him, mmm that's interesting. Anyway, I liked how Enju infiltrated as a maid into the estate to copy Goemon's note saying he'd steal stuff from them. I feel like everyone is really nice to her so they kinda unintentionally "leave her out" because she has no experience, so I'm glad Chojiro is constantly trying to build her up with different tasks but always being there to support her when she makes the decision thinking that she probably needs help with something. It's really cool how proactive Enju is, and how much she wants to help out everyone and be on the same level as them. I also think it's kinda cute how Enju holding on to Chojiro's sleeve when they went home after training as kids was a cute memory to share.
Tumblr media
Enju shopping with Chojiro was cute, it really feels like rather than being "cold" like how he looks, Chojiro is actually just awkward and doesn't know how to treat people he regards as important? It was kinda sad when he said he usually doesn't have things important to him because he doesn't want to lose them (when Enju bought him a handkerchief), I wonder what he'll do when he realises that Enju is much more important to him than he thinks? Omggg I didn't expect Chojiro to hold her hand and walk around!! That's cuteee! I also love how she told him it's a peaceful era now, so he should treasure things without needing to worry about losing them. Considering he lost his whole village and his parents when he was 6 years old, that must have been hard to witness as a survivor. Ohh, so the ninjutsu Enju used to capture Goemon was from Iga! It was nice to see how happy Chojiro was when she told him that, making him feel that Iga still lives on in some way even if the village is gone. Honestly, I was pretty touched when Chojiro tried to accompany Enju to Hideyoshi, and then even tried to stop her for a moment. On the other hand, I'm not sure why Enju's father had such an evil laugh after disowning his daughter to save the village.. Unless, he really did send someone to kill Hideyoshi, and maybe that someone was actually Kuroyuki😟 Anyway, I felt bad for Chojiro. He wants to be as reckless as Gekkamaru and be able to throw away everything and run to Enju and save her, but his responsibilities and his position make that basically impossible because of the consequences it would ensue. Maybe if he was a "less important" figure and shinobi to Koga he could, and I feel like he would have wished that at this moment.
Tumblr media
Kando ordering Chojiro and them to go hunt down Enju and Gekkamaru was pretty cruel, like wow, you really don't care about your daughter at all, now I don't even want to imagine what his wife might have went through before she died. On the other hand, it's pretty frustrating to hear the villagers talk bad about Enju (after being influenced by Kando's words etc) considering how much Enju sincerely wanted to repay them for their kindness. But I guess it's not like they really saw Enju for herself even when they "liked" her anyway. They just liked her because she was a symbol of peace, meaning that they could live a peaceful life, so now that she's disrupting it and reminding them that if she doesn't die, then the Tensho Iga War where the Iga village was decimated would occur again, then of course they would disregard her life. I'm just sad that Chojiro feels like he's not allowed to have a "choice" on what to do because he knows the pain of what a war can cause, and how he thinks that he needs to be ruthless and do it so that Ennosuke and them don't need to bear that pain of killing someone important to them. I kinda like how Kyara found her resolve to follow the order to kill Enju. She loves and cherishes Enju, but at the same time, she loves her family too and doesn't want to lose them, she chose what was most important to her, and I think it was very understandable. On the other hand, even though I find Kasumi kinda annoying sometimes with all the crying lol, it's understandable how she couldn't find the resolve to kill Enju even if she understood the consequences. Honestly though, they've said that Kasumi isn't good at fighting so I'm not sure why she's even on an assassination mission separated from the others lol. I knew Gekkamaru would prioritise Enju above the village, but actually hearing him say that everyone and the village could die if it meant Enju was all right was pretty wow. I understand though tbh, and honestly I have to agree with him. It's a dangerous sentiment but honestly, at times I remember those feelings of mine where I thought that if I had to choose between this character's life or the world, I'd definitely choose this character's life because a world where they don't exist is basically meaningless. I think the most apparent one was when I played Tales of Xillia 2 and instead of the good ending or whatever, I really just wanted the ending where Ludger chooses to save his brother haha.
Tumblr media
Anyway, it's sad but understandable why Enju feels "ready" to die. I think if I knew my friends had to kill me to save things important to me too, I probably wouldn't have much of a will to live. It was nice to see Chojiro and Enju fight against each other like they're training, but I nearly cried for Enju when Chojiro was strangling her. I'm glad Kuroyuki came and saved her because even though Chojiro is evidently hesitant, I'm not sure if he really would have stopped, since he could have collected himself after, but at the same time, the fact that he even hesitated shows that he probably won't be able to do it. Anyway, there's something really heartwarming about both brothers (Gekkamaru and Kuroyuki) being so devoted to protecting Enju above all else. They're so different, but when it comes to Enju, they're honestly pretty obsessed with her in their own way. I honestly didn't expect Gekkamaru to die. It was true that even though Kuroyuki and Gekkamaru are brothers, they've always been well versed in fighting solo, so it's understandable how Kyara and Ennosuke could get the upper hand. I felt so bad for everyone though. Kuroyuki covered Enju from everything. Gekkamaru was tormented in his death because he wouldn't be able to protect Enju anymore. Ennosuke was sad that he couldn't go back to the village with Kyara, nor did he get to tell her his feelings, and then she got killed by the Nokizaru shinobi in front of him. It's sad that Enju didn't get the resolve to fight against them until everything became pretty much a nightmare since maybe Gekkamaru wouldn't have died if she helped, but at the same time, it's impossible to fault her for it. I think I feel sorry for Chojiro having come too late. I can't imagine the feeling of burying your disciples, especially since he was also the one who told them that they needed the resolve to kill Enju and that they were shinobi who had to succeed in their missions. I feel bad for Kasumi though. So young, so naive, and she probably feels responsible for the Nokizaru being there, when honestly, they would have been there either way, but yeah seeing all her respected older "brothers" and "sister" die killing each other would shatter anyone..
Enju realising that the village would be destroyed if she didn't die made me so sad. It's not wrong to have the desire to live, but it's understandably terrible to think that if she died back in the prison, then Gekkamaru and them would have been alive. Hearing Chojiro finally be able to express his feelings and understand that despite how much he wanted to continue being a "shinobi" that fulfilled his missions and nothing else, thinking that if he didn't fulfill his missions, it was basically death to him, really broke my heart. Mainly because he thought that losing his way as a shinobi by hesitating to kill Enju was what he was most scared and tormented about, but when he saw the lifeless bodies of his disciples, he finally realised that before being a shinobi, he is also human. He can't help but have feelings, he can't help but feel emotions even if he cannot express them or show them, because he can still feel them regardless. His disciples and Enju are more important to him than his missions, and realising that must hurt a lot.. I really wanted Kasumi to survive at least but I guess it wasn't meant to be, especially since she felt responsible for everything that happened. I also feel bad for Kasumi because she had to be the "dumb" character that causes trouble for everyone and then dies in a silly preventable way just because the story doesn't really need her anymore and might as well add to Enju's grief lol. I mean, I doubt Chojiro would have been hit by those poison needles if he didn't get shocked by Kasumi's actions and try to think of a way to save her even though it was too late, so then that made him slower to react to protecting Enju imo.
Tumblr media
I thought it was sweet how Enju told Chojiro to hold her hand instead of grasping it so hard that it injures him, so that she can keep his happiness there (since he said his hand itches whenever he's about to lose something important to him), and even if she can't protect it, at least she can give him warmth. Aww it was so unfair that Chojiro made Enju admit that she liked the idea of them being a couple but he didn't say anything about it to her so now she's confused about whether he likes it too or not🥺 Otherwise, now that Chojiro has decided to live with the "consequences" of wanting her to stay alive, it's nice to see how much more honest and talkative he can be even if he is a bit awkward since he's so used to talking like a teacher hahaha. I knew Hideyoshi's death was suspicious and I wondered if he really was dead, but his appearance, his arrogance and his reveal that it was all like a succession game where every one of Enju's friends that were sent to hunt her down represented one of the Elders and whoever won would be Hideyori's guardian, it was all so frustrating to watch. When I think about how desperate Ennosuke and Kyara were to resolve themselves as shinobi and fulfil their missions as they should, it makes me sick to think that it was for a "master" like this who thought of them all as disposable pawns. Kanda being happy about it and the idea of getting a nice reward from it for Koga just made me think yeah, it's nice that true shinobi don't exist anymore. No one should have to go through that pain of having to be a "robot" with no emotions, existing just to be loyal to a master you barely see or know, giving your life to something that barely affects yourself, it's just so heartbreaking and anger inducing. It was nice to see Chojiro tell Enju his feelings, and then they escape together during the match🥰 It's kinda amusing how both Goemon and Kuroyuki knew to pop up now and save them haha, but I think I'm most glad that Hanzo decided to help them escape too, like I guess it was expected since it was obvious he didn't like it, but I still liked seeing it, especially when he teased Enju about giving Chojiro the antidote mouth to mouth before haha. I quite liked the bad ending! Chojiro and Enju committing suicide together was quite bittersweet and honestly one of the only choices they had if Chojiro was too injured to escape and none of them wanted to live without the other.
Tumblr media
Overall, I really like Chojiro as a character but I think I found his route rather lacklustre. It wasn't bad, but I think the story wasn't able to build a proper connection between Chojiro and Enju before they separated in order for me to really empathise with their feelings towards each other, and so I feel like I kinda had to supplement it myself by understanding what kind of person Chojiro is. I enjoyed the dilemma Ennosuke and them had in regards to following the way of life for a shinobi and how that all ended up with the different perspectives of everyone trying their best to protect what was most important to them. However, I do think the deaths lacked impact, especially Kasumi's. I liked how Chojiro and Enju understood each other so well, but I didn't really feel the romance sadly, even though I liked how bittersweet everything was since they had to experience all these deaths that were so personal to them. The ending was pretty short in the sense that it felt like they just wanted to resolve it but not put too much thought into it, so yeah lol that was disappointing. I guess I mainly liked how they discussed the pain of being a shinobi and how Chojiro was only able to "wake up" from this responsibility after losing so many important things, but I honestly wanted something more? Considering he was the previous Iga leader's son, I thought there would be more about that, his responsibility to the survivors of his village and other stuff like that, but yeah oh well.

Sally McKenna x reader
Words: 2.321
Sally had never expected that she would end up the way she did. Of course, she wasn't the one to regret the things she had done, but at times she couldn't help and wonder how would it be if she had made different decision. She only wanted to have fun. She followed her heart not necessarily thinking about the consequences. And as she let her heart decide, certain things became inevitable. She was just young. She was just learning to fly. Her life used to be like a never-ending party, but then she ended up at the Cortez. The price she had to pay for her mistakes was huge.
All she wished for was to be able to live a little more. But it was too late. She wished she hadn't taken for granted what she used to have. She wished she could go back to the time when she could look up to the sky, walk around the town and simply be fine. She missed the air, the sun, her friends and normal life. She missed the freedom. But it was impossible to have it all back. And there she was at the Cortez, sitting at the window watching people passing by. Every time she did it she felt as if her whole life was flashing by and all she could do was watch and cry. Sally couldn't bear being trapped in the hotel. Sometimes she felt as if she was the only one who had never become what they had thought they would have been. And she just wanted to have one more chance.
But at that point in her life she couldn't even stand looking at herself. Because of all the sorrow, grief and pain her soul became so heavy that it was hard to bear it. Casual affairs, alcohol and killing people became her springboard. But that wasn't like her. Doing it all wasn't what she had thought she would be doing. But she didn't even feel like herself anymore. She changed so much, that she couldn't recognize herself. And that's when you appeared.
She saw you one day when she was sitting at the window and watching average people living their normal life. She usually didn't really care about them - only thinking about her miserable life, but something about you was different. Sally looked at you and all her thoughts were gone.
You were that kind of person who had the purest kind of soul and carried the biggest and most caring heart in the world. It was enough to look at you once and everyone could feel that amazing kind of energy radiating from you. And that's exactly what she needed, but didn't even know it.
She looked at you and the whole world stopped. You were there running with your dog. You had earphones on and were  moving your head to the beat of the music. You seemed to be so happy, that Sally couldn't help and smiled looking at you.
And that's what she started doing. Everyday she was waiting at the window for you to show up. After some time she knew the exact time you'd appear and just waited to see you. She knew that you would probably never meet, but looking at you from afar was enough to make her day.
She was spellbound by your beauty. Your smile was the biggest and the cutest she had ever seen. And the way you played with your dog made her melt from inside. She loved watching you running or rollerblading. You seemed to be so happy and careless, yet still somehow cautious. And that kind of amazed Sally.
Sometimes she envied the passersbys that they got to look at you closely and didn't really pay attention, while she would do absolutely anything to hear your laugh or touch you. She had got her mind set on you and she didn't even know you.
Sally knew it was unrealistic to think that you would ever meet or that you would ever notice her, but you did.
You were walking your dog and playing with him. You were minding your business, but couldn't help that weird feeling of being watched. For a while you thought you were being paranoid, but then you noticed her. A frizzy-haired woman sitting on a windowsill with a cigarette in her hand. She was shamelessly looking at you and even when you noticed her she didn't turn around. When your eyes met she kept the eye contact as if she was waiting for you to do something. You felt a tingle in your heart, which made you freak out a bit, but you also blushed when she smiled. There was something mysterious about her. Something that made you want to get closer, but you were too shy and kind of scared to do anything. So, when the woman waved to you, you totally freaked out and basically ran away.
Sally frowned. She was pretty frustrated. Making you feel uncomfortable and scared was the last thing she wanted. She got even angrier with herself when you didn't appear for the next few days. She was almost sure that she scared you off completely and that you would never come back. Watching you was her only entertainment, so when you were gone she couldn't find herself a place. Once again she became a heartless, dangerous creature who was ready to hurt anyone who got into her way.
You on the other hand were pretty confused. You had so many questions. Who was she? Why was she looking at you? What did she want? But most importantly, why couldn't you stop thinking about her? You didn't even know her and she was on your mind almost all the time. You decided not to go there anymore, but your inner curiosity turned out to be stronger. And so after three days you went to your usual place. For some reason you really wanted to see her. How disappointed you were finding out that she wasn't there - at least you thought so.
In fact, Sally was there all the time. She just didn't let you see her for fear you may run away again. She was so happy to see you again that she didn't want to break the moment. Every time you appeared you made her so full of joy that for those few minutes nothing else, but you existed. It wasn't sensible at all, though it felt good, so Sally didn't care.
You stayed there a bit longer. From time to time you looked at the window, where you saw her for the first time, but there was nobody. A bit disappointed, you were about heading back home when it started raining heavily. You didn't want do get soaked, so after a moment of reflection you actually decided to go to the hotel and wait for it to stop raining.
You couldn't help feeling a bit uneasy, but you got inside the building anyways.
"Oh, hello" a tall woman from the reception addressed you
"Hi" you said shyly "I... Umm it's raining. Can I..." you paused and looked at your dog "Can we stay here until it stops?" you asked hopefully
"I mean yes, of course, but I'm afraid dogs aren't allowed to be here"
"Ohh... It's okay. We can just stay at..." you were about to say something, but were cut off
"They can stay at my room"
You turned around and saw her - the woman with frizzy hair. Your eyes widened and you bit your lip. She was beautiful. Face to face she looked even better than you had thought she would.
"In that case, I guess you're allowed to stay" the woman from the reception said
"Thank you, Liz" the blonde said and smiled at you
"I promise he won't cause any problems" you said picking your dog up
"Even if he will I don't mind as long as he's here with you" she said making you blush "Let's go" she gestured for you to go first
You nodded and went to the elevator. You didn't dare to speak up. Not that you knew what to say. You were so surprised or rather amazed that you couldn't even think of any words that would be proper in this situation.
You got to the elevator and none of you broke the silence. You just stood there. Sally lustfully looking at you and you biting your lip, feeling your heart hammering.
"I'm Sally" she introduced herself offering you her hand
"I'm Y/N" you shook her icy hand "It's nice to meet you"
"It's my pleasure, sweetie"
You blushed profusely at the nickname and the way she said it.
Sally let you in and locked the door.
"Be my guest" she said
You put your dog down and he immediately started running around.
"So, what's his name?" Sally asked looking at your dog
"Lucky" you said
"Well, I have no doubts he is"
The feelings she was giving you weren’t like anything you ever felt before. Being with her you completely lost the track of time. It stopped raining, but you didn't even notice. You were way too busy to notice. You talked for hours about everything and nothing. Or rather she talked and you listened, but you really enjoyed it. At some point though you realized it was pretty late and you had to go back home. So you gave her your number and ever since then you two began texting.
You were talking all the time and none of you could get tired of it. You couldn't get enough. You both had been through a lot and that's probably one of the reason for you getting on so well.
Sally couldn't remember being happier. You were so precious, she couldn't help that feeling and began falling for you. Before she even realized, everything was about you. All that she could think about, all that she desired was you. Sally kind of lost her mind for you. She didn't want to be your friend. She wanted to be your lover. But she didn't want you just for a while. You were something more and all that she wanted was to show you her unconditional love and devotion.
Just a touch couldn't be enough to fulfill her desire. She wanted to get to you and have you. Yet it wasn't that easy. You were shy and a bit reserved. She knew she had to take things slow, because otherwise she may scare you off. She had never really need to be gentle and it had never truly mattered, but it was different with you. She knew that you had got hurt before and was well aware that she needed to be careful. That's why she slowed down and did her best to match your rhythm. She adored you. She loved every little moment she spent with you. Each text message - she cherished it.
You on the other hand didn't plan it. It was just a fascination at first. Though falling for her was a side effect. It was an accident, but you couldn't help that feeling either. You still needed space though. You weren't the one to let people in easily, but she didn't push you into anything. You really appreciated her efforts and you knew there was no way for you to give her up. She was slowly taking over your heart and you mind. And you happily allowed it. There was something dangerous, maybe even kind of toxic about her. Or it was just you being scared of getting hurt again. But all she did was giving you as much attention and affection as she could. At some point you came to the conclusion that no one had ever given you so much love. And you knew that nobody, but her could give you all that you needed. She was all that you wanted.
You were together almost all the time. And whenever you were together the whole world just kind of disappeared. You didn't care about other people, problems or your past. It was just the two of you. Yet it was still hard for you to take the final step.
Though seeing her social media was like a breakthrough. Sally left her phone in the room, while she went to get your dog something to eat. You didn't mean to invade her privacy. You were just curious and so you took her phone and scrolled through her Twitter. It was full of your pictures and her telling her followers about her feelings for you. It was so sweet that your heart melted.
It was all just pure love, butterflies and flowers. But you knew that love wasn't only about that. It was about trust, respect, understanding and care. And together you had it all. So, finally you get the courage and let her in completely.
"We need to talk" you said when she was back
Sally stopped in her tracks, trying to remember whatever she might have done wrong.
"Did I do something?" she asked worried
"No..."
"Because if I did I'm sorry. I probably didnt know. I'm sorry Y/N. Really. Please don't leave. I can fix it" she kept rambling
"Oh my God, can you shut up! I'm trying to tell you that I love you"
"Wait. What?"
"I love you" you said
Sally looked at you.
"I never want to leave your side" you said
Sally still didn't say a word. Her head was spinning. It was all she had wanted, but she just couldn't believe it was happening for real. So, once again you got the courage up .
"Why don't you come to me?"
"Are you sure?" she asked
"Like never before"
It was all it took to convince her. Sally wiped the tears that she couldn't stop and approached you.
"I love you too, Y/N" she said and kissed you
Let me know if you’d like to be tagged in future works ;)

Her family and friends didn’t leave any stone unturned to make her wedding more memorable. She wouldn’t have had this much fun in a million years. Little did she knew that the universe had another special thing in store for her...
"Where are the Keys ?" He inquired, looking for them in his pockets.
"Tae, Open the door already !! I'm soo tired... My feet are gonna give out..." Min Ji whined as she slumped down on the floor, her back against the door.
"Yahh! Where did i keep them. " He said, still struggling to find the item.
"Yep. Gotcha." He jiggled the keys, then inserted the key inside the lock to open the door.
Both of them entered their home, tired and exhausted.
Min Ji plonked herself on the couch, face first while Tae went inside to place the packs with their clothings in their bed room, getting himself a bottle of water on his way back.
His phone began ringing the moment he sat down beside his wife.
"Hey Jungkook-Ah !" He let out, rather chirpily.
Min Ji wondered how he could be soo lively after their wearying shopping trip and soon she observed an elated expression plastered on his face.
He disconnected the call, a soft smile on his face.
"What ? What did Jungkook tell you that's making you smile so bad?" Min Ji asked teasingly, her head propped on her elbow.
"Jungkook invited me to his Bachelor's party which is gonna be held in a week. I'm soo excited to meet all my hyungs after such a long time." He sinked back into the sofa, his expressions were enough to reveal how happy he was at that moment.
"That's nice." She grinned, too elated to see her husband so riant.
"Ohh i completely forgot." He remembered. "Jungkook mentioned that his wife wanted you to attend her Bachelorette party too."
"Huh... But... I don’t even know her or anyone there, what will I do alone. I'll stay at home with my bed, my soulmate." Min Ji stated, casually.
"Ohh... So your bed is your soulmate then who am i ?" Tae asked, cocking an eyebrow.
"Uhmm... You're my lovely, adorable and handsome husband." She complimented him.
"Yahh... Min Ji-Ah You need and have to go okay. Get out of this house and just enjoy your life, jagi. There's an entire world outside these four walls." He tried to convince his wife.
"You know how i feel in a crowd full of people I don't know. Even you won't be there. I'd be really bored." She retaliated. "Secondly, I've got nothing to wear and I'm no mood to go for a shopping trip anytime soon."
"I'd accompany you and we'd buy a gorgeous dress for my beautiful wife. Please Min Ji." He pouted.
'His puppy eyes were too hard to resist. Damn, he knows my weak points.' She thought to herself.
"Okay. FINE." She gave up.
'It was easy for him to make her agree with everything he wanted.' She thought, looking at his satisfied smile.

Works been keeping Min Ji and Taehyung pretty busy lately.
Who says a Teacher's Job is easy...? For a teacher like them, who literally put in their whole and soul into their work, it's never been facile. Sadly, being a teacher is the most under appreciated job despite the burnout they go through, every single day.
Min Ji and Tae lazed around after being drained of all the zing.
They worked their asses off, the entire week, since they had to take a few days leave on the occasion Jungkook's marriage.
Min Ji flipped open her journal just to discern that she still needed to go and buy a dress that she'd wear for Jungkook's Wife's Bachelorette party.
' It's Sunday tomorrow and the Bachelorette's gonna be on Monday... So I'm gonna go shop tomorrow and drag Tae along too... YES!! It's Sorted then. ' She planned in her mind.
"Tae, We need to go look for a dress I'd wear to the Bachelorette's. So you need to accompany me tomorrow." She said, unaware that her husband who was sitting on the couch, besides her, his eyes fixated on the TV screen as he played 'Over Watch' did not acknowledge a single thing she said.
No response made her look at him and call him out again.
"Tae..."
"Tae..."
"Tae..."
"Taehyung..."
"Mr. Kim..." Min Ji spoke again, touching his shoulder to shake him, but he shrugged it off.
In spite of Min Ji's repeated attempts of trying to gather his attention, the boy didn't budge.
"YAHH!! KIM TAEHYUNG!!" She shouted, annoyed that her husband ignored her entire existence, completely focused on the game.
Taehyung jumped from the couch, stumbled down to the ground, puzzled and scared out of his guts. The controller dropped on the carpet by his side with a 'thud'.
Min Ji was trying hard to suppress a loud laughter as she saw her husband's pallid appearance.
"Bahahahahaha..." She laughed, hysterically.
Taehyung stood confused, trying to figure out what just happened.
"Min Ji-Ah..." He whined, putting his headphones down at the coffee table, picking up the controller, placing it on it's proper place.
Min Ji cackled while Taehyung smiled lightly, listening to her melodious haa-hee.
"Stop It... It was not that funny." He turned to her.
"I-hh It wah-hh was..." She held her stomach and tried to calm her breathing down.
"It was sooo funny. You should've seen the look on you face... Haha..." She beamed.
"Okay Okay... Fine... Now speak up, What's the matter ? What did you want to tell me ?" Tae inquired.
"I just wanted to inform you that we're going shopping tomorrow and you're coming with me." She let out, straight.
"Oh... Okay... But that's all?" He asked and she nodded.
"Yah!! You disrupted my game because of such a mere thing." He said, crossing his arms over his chest and frowning.
"Tae... Okay... I'm sorry." Min Ji pouted as Tae turned his head to his side, away from her.
"I was thinking that I'd order Japchae for dinner today. But since you're soo annoyed with me..... " Min Ji continued.
"Japchae!!" His eyes twinkled as he drooled, visibly.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
"Tae... Get Ready..." Min Ji whined, her husband still lying down, occupied on his phone, unaffected by what she told him.
"Kim Taehyung, I swear that I'm gonna burn your phone to ashes if you're not ready by next five minutes." Min Ji warned.
She giggled as she saw Tae immediately standing up, dropping his phone at the nightstand, stumbling on his way to the bathroom.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
Tae locked the main door as they stepped out of their home.
"T-" Min Ji was cut off by the ringing of Taehyung's phone.
"Hello Bogum." He said, signalling Min Ji to wait for a minute as he went a bit away to talk with his friend.
A few minutes later, Tae returned, apologetic in guise.
"Look... I know that I promised you that I'd help you with the dress but Bogum's father is in the hospital and he needs my help so i need to go. I've got no other option Mini... " He was sad.
Taehyung was really a genuine friend that everyone deserved to have. He was always up for it when his friends needed him.
"It's okay, Jagiya. I'll manage everything, here. Bogum needs you right now so you should go. Don't worry about me." She assured him as she placed her hands in his.
"I owe you one for this, cupcake." He spoke.
"What's up with these nicknames? Huh?" She teased. " And you don't owe me anything." She pecked his cheek.
"What did i do to have you in my life.?" He hugged her and her cheeks flamed up.
" Taehyung-ah, Bogum might be waiting for you... Goooo...."
"Bye. I Love You." He shouted, running towards his car.
"Yahh!!! This Boy!! " Min Ji smiled to herself and shook her head in disbelief.
'Seems like I gotta do this all by myself' She thought as she mentally face-palmed.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
Min Ji wandered from store to store looking for a suitable dress she could wear to the Bachelorette but in vain.
She was strolling through the hallway when a beautiful, metal black, bodycon, dress caught her eye.
She immediately entered the outlet, looked for her size in the dress and bolted towards the trial area.
As she was about to enter the corridor, her phone went off. She opened her handbag, looking for it and then,
"Ope!!" Min Ji squealed as she stumbled backwards but managed to retain her balance and save herself from the embarrassment of falling straight on her bum.
Min Ji bumped into another women who was storming out of the corridor, busy taking over her phone and both failed to realise the other's presence.
"Sorry!" The lady said as she bowed and dashed towards the exit.
"It's.... fine..." Min Ji said, which came out as a whisper since the woman was already out of the store by the time she uttered those words.
She shook her head and headed to the trial room.
"Yah!! Soo Jung-Ah!!!" A voice called out, behind a closed door, Min Ji just went past.
"Aye!! Come here and Help me." The voice spoke again.
Min Ji's motherly instincts rose after listening to the word "Help" so before she realized, she knocked on the door.
"Hey! There's no one outside here since you're calling out for them..." Min Ji continued "Are you alright ?? I can help you if you want me to."
There was absolute silence for good few minutes until the voice spoke up again, "Hey!! Could you please help me fix the zipper of my dress..? Since you can see my friend's already bailed out..."
Min Ji stifled a chuckle, "Yep...Sure."
The door opened which revealed the silhouette of a woman dressed in a wedding gown.
Tumblr media
Min Ji couldn't help but remember the day of her marriage and smiled to herself.
"Here... It's Stuck!! " Her voice snapped Min Ji out of her daze.
She moved towards the woman, trying to pull it up but it didn't move.
She took a step away and stood there, analysing it, thinking of something that could be used repair it.
An idea struck her mind almost instantly as she reached out for some Vaseline from her handbag and applied it to both the edges of the zipper before pulling it up with a 'ZIG' and *VOILÀ*, it was fixed.
"Thank you so much." The woman smiled.
That's when Min Ji looked up at the woman's face but she couldn't help but feel that it look familiar.
"Do I know you? Have we met before? I think I've seen you somewhere." She inquired and let out a string of words before she could stop them from rolling off her tongue.
The look on her face turned sceptical as she could practically see the wheels turning inside woman's head.
"N-No... I don't think so." She immediately grabbed her shades before putting them on.
"Oh-Okay then... I should leave." Min Ji bowed and made her way out.
'Weird' she thought to herself.
Min Ji couldn't help but feel that she knew the women she just met.
But the thought subsided as soon as she tried her dress on. And she knew what she was gonna have on for the party.
She rushed towards the cash counter, bought the dress and made her way back home, happy to finally relax after an entire day full of exertion.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
Min Ji stepped out of the lift, trudging towards their apartment.
She was about to open the door when she noticed a hamper with a card by it.
She picked it up, trying to figure out who could sent it to them and walked in, shutting the door behind her.
She slouched on the couch and started unboxing it.
It contained Two Exclusive Perfumes: One Chanel and One Jo Malone with an Invite to Jungkook's Wife's whose name as mentioned on the card was KANG JI NA.
It stated that Min Ji had to be ready really early tomorrow (which meant waking up even before that,,,URGHHH....) since it wasn't just the party but a trip filled with activities including all of them staying there.
"OHH GOD... I NEED TO PACK UP EVERYTHING..." Min Ji bolted towards her room, ready to complete another task so she could lay down on her bed at the earliest.
❖ ── ✦ ── ✧ ─ ◈ ─ ✧ ── ✦ ── ❖
Here she was stressed the heck out of her life waiting for what these next few weeks hold. This was it. This was the day Kim Soo Jung, Head stylist of JK's company and wife of the famous actor Kim Seok Jin, was gonna be held at the helm of being THE BEST MAID OF HONOUR. Knowing her best friend Kang Ji Na was gonna get married to the love of her life after a period of creepy stalking and one sided administration (Really pretty adjectives used by Soo Jung to make Ji Na flustered Infront of Jungkook).
She was more than happy and overwhelmed at the fact that her friend's one sided endeavours bore into fruitition and before she knew those two were marrying each other. She has to say this is one of the most happiest moments of her life. She states dramatically to her husband, right after she enters the house with cake samples and seating herself on the couch, not wasting a second to search up her contacts for best wedding dress maker.
"I thought discovering cookies and cream flavour was your happiest moment." Jin retorts while sitting beside her on the couch, with a mischievous smirk on his lips.
"You know me so well Jinnie!!" She says smiling fondly and leaning in to give him a cheek kiss.
"Did you like to rush home from work and Wow... did you bring me some cake!!" Jin says while taking the package placed on the tea table.
"Those are cake samples for Ji Na's wedding" she says while Jin opens the box and gorges over one of the sample.
"Don't knock yourself out with those cakes I too have to try and decide the best one. How do you like that one, though ?" She asks.
"Oh it's soo good I was starving" Jin says with stuffed mouth and reaches in for another sample.
"No!!! Jinnie it's not for you to eat. I have to do the taste test and find the best." She whines poutyly while snatching away the box
Jin's face dulls down with disappointment.
"Okay you can eat those but you will have to tell how each one is and help me find the best." She says.
Jin's face lightens up. "You are the best Soo Jung-Ah!!" He exclaims while taking away the box.
And like that with just a mere snap of finger, Soo Jung's one of her many jobs was done. she pats herself internally while smirking at the victory of having her strategic plan work. She hands him over the taste quality rating list with names of each flavour.
Jin does whine about work given but feels it's worth the delicious cakes he tries.
She calls in the best of all wedding planners who is also Jin's childhood friend, wedding designer whom she worked with for a huge actress's wedding having advantage of discounts and instant work.
Now the biggest deal of all, The Best Bachelorette party.
Soo Jung had planned everything before a week of wedding rolled around. She went in with Ji Na and other bridesmaids for dress fitting, approved and checked up all the wedding arrangements made by Hoseok her wedding planner, mailed all the invitations. Everything was going according to her plan until she couldn't think of a good idea for bachelorette's, which she needed to sent invite for too.
Soo Jung racked her brain while tapping her pen continuously on the edge of her planner. She took few days off and was working continuously towards her maid of honour duties
Being frustrated she thought of going out meeting other friend as she was feeling coerced and needed air to breath.
She went in and waited in the café while ordering a sweet Caramel Frappuccino.
"You know I recognised it was you just by seeing that overly creamy drink on the table without even looking at your face." Yoongi teases her while settling himself before her in the small cabin.
"I don't know what you are talking about." Soo Jung says while enjoying her drink and humming in contentment.
Yoongi just chuckles and gets himself a simple Iced Americano.
"So how is your Best Maid of Honour campaign going? " Yoongi asks.
That's when she starts to worry again about something she came here to avoid.
"I am facing an idea block for the bacherollete party." Soo Jung sulks while worrying maybe her coming to this café only wasting the precious time she has.
"Just do as we boys are doing." Yoongi remarks while looking at his phone.
"Oh yaa I forgot to ask Jinnie. What are you guys doing?" Soo Jung asks expectantly.
"Las Vegas baby!!! We always teased our youngest about taking him to Las Vegas and getting him wasted before his wedding. We know he likes Hangover movie too much. So we had to fulfill his fantasy." Yoongi lets out with excitement.
Soo Jung deflates and starts to rack brain again for ideas.
"You don't seem to like that idea..?" Yoongi claims after lifting his gaze from to the phone and meeting Soo Jung's disappointed face.
"Nah that's too typical and so unlike Ji Na she hates clubbing and getting wasted. I want to do something she loves and something she can relax with as it's gonna be her big day." Soo Jung says while sipping her coffee.
Yoongi smiles at her thinking how she cares so much about the ones she love.
"I am sure you will find something." Yoongi says while patting her head.
"I hope so." She returns him a smile.
"Oh why don't you ask Namjoon as he is Ji Na's best friend and knows her for long time too." Yoongi suggests.
"Yahh! I am Ji Na's best friend, can't you see who is the maid of honour. I don't see Namjoon picking out dresses and bouquets for her." She remarks offended.
"He is the best man.....but I thought I was your best friend." Now it's Yoongi's turn to be offended.
"Whatever he is managing Jungkook's side so he doesn't count as her best friend right now... It's complicated Yoongi. But you will always be my little meow meow." Soo Jung teases him.
"Yahh how many times I have to tell you not call me that." Yoongi spits with mild anger yet internally feeling pleased.
"Come on... I know you love it." Soo Jung teases him with mischievous grin.
Yoongi answers her only with a slurping noise of his coffee.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
When Soo Jung reaches home she contemplates what Yoongi said. Namjoon really did know Ji Na way long than she did and having no other choice she had to step down her pride just a little bit and ask him for a few pointers regarding Ji Na's likes and dislikes.
Soo Jung waits until two telephonic bleeps and hears a hello from the other side.
" Hey Namjoon, this is Soo Jung." she introduces.
" Oh Soo Jung it's been long since we conversed.. How are your maid of honour duties going?" Namjoon asks.
" It's been great actually. You know I won't let my best friend down ever." Soo Jung remarks while emphasizing a little bit more than necessary.
Namjoon just gets amused at her kiddish saltiness towards him.
" Hmmmm..." He states after a period of awkward pause " So what did you call for...."
Soo Jung clears her throat "About that.... I was thinking of few bachelorette ideas and I did find many, like many great ideas that she may love but still do you have any suggestions about what she might enjoy." Soo Jung adds in the unwanted whipped cream to save herself after remarking herself as best friend cause clearly she doesn't have any great ideas.
"So much for being Ji Na's best friend...Huh?" Namjoon teases but doesn't give her time to retort. "She did say she loves hiking and camping." he says without giving much of a thought.
Suddenly a light bulb lightens above Soo Jung's head.
"Thank you very much Namjoon, I agree you win this time. Bye! " before Namjoon can tease her for her slip up she cuts the call.
She swiftly opens her system and looks for the hiking resort just near the venue.
She can't believe how perfect the whole deal is. Being a full day trip she wants it to be a surprise.
Soon she orders in to design and send her the invites in two days with complimentary perfumes.
Now that everything is sorted she thought she could relax but still she was a little stressed about how whole plan will turn out.
Next day she shopped secretly for everything she needed for the party and came back home, exhausted.
Having taken off she gave all her responsibilities to her assistant who was great at her work but still Soo Jung preferred to not risk it and checked before finalizing everything.
She started to work on her real job while settling herself comfortably on bed.
"Soo Jung-Ah! finally I caught in your natural habitat otherwise you were out as a light by the time I returned." He says while settling himself beside her and cuddling her up.
"Aww Jinnie I missed you too" Soo Jung said while keeping her work aside and started playing with Jin's hair while looking at beautiful black-brown orbs.
"You are doing great my wife. I can say you are The Best Maid Of Honour." Jin states while intertwining their fingers together, pressing a fond kiss on her hand that he held in his.
" Do you think this will earn you browny points and I will let you off the hook for whatever mischief you have planned for." Soo Jung remarks sceptically.
"Noo... Jagiya I mean it." Jin states with sincerity. "You have been working so hard I am proud of you." Jin looks at her with a smile.
Soo Jung has nothing to say to her husbands's soft demeanour so just smiles with cheeks tinted in a shade of pink.
"But yaa it was so evil of you to manipulate me into helping you to select a cake for you. Now my trainer wants me to work half an hour extra otherwise I might look like a dumpling on screen." Jin whines poutyly.
Soo Jung can't help but laugh out loud at the prospect of being caught and also feeling fuzzy over the fact that Jin caught on to her plan.
"It's okay Jinnie your fans will still coo over you saying how you look like a cute dumpling, All puffy." Soo Jung mocks his crazy fan following.
"Somebody seems to be jealous." Jin remarks with a mischievous grin.
"Why would I when I have the real deal and besides you aren't my favourite actor either." Soo Jung states while leaving the room to prepare dinner.
Jin falters at her sudden motion and starts whining about what she just said.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
The days roll by and soon the day of the trip comes around. She wakes up way earlier than anyone to pick up everything she needs and order the van to reach the venue.
Now all she has to do is pick up the bride.
Soo Jung gives Ji Na a heads-up and is glad to see she received her call.
Ji Na having a good life style habits unlike Soo Jung is way more in a better condition in the mornings.
Soo Jung is far from being a morning person but she has to push herself for her best friend.
She rushes her to the venue and see's most of the girls have arrived. Soo Jung invited all of the girl group members Ji Na trained and debuted with before starting her solo career. Even after going solo she tend to be in good connection with most of them.
Soo Jung see's a really pretty woman approach whom she kind of recognise from some where but can't put the finger on.
°°°°°°YESTERDAY; IN THE SAME STORE°°°°°°
Ji Na was assessing her gown when she heard a knock on the door of her trial room followed by her best friend calling her out.
Ji Na opened the door only to reveal a stunned Soo Jung who eyed her up and down, examing Ji na's dress.
Soo Jung was mesmerized to see her friend in a princess wedding gown.
"Whoa... You look FANTABULOUS!! " She exclaimed.
"Thank You" Ji na blushed at the compliment. "But Where did you disappear?" She asked strictly. "If it would've been for that lady I would've still been holding up the dress and standing lonesome, calling your name out like a fanatic in the empty area. But thanks to no one other than you, that lady was about to recognise me and my identity was just a bit away from being revealed." Ji na blabbered.
"JI... Calm down. PLEASE. My assistant called me to inform about a sudden fiasco regarding your Bachelorette party so I went out to sort them up a bit. I'm thankful that the women was at the right place at right time and happy that she wasn't one of your crazy fangirls." Soo Jung says, grateful.
Ji na passed her a mix of an annoyed and a 'yeah-yeah' look.
"I feel kinda Guilty tho..." Soo Jung continued seeing a big 'WHY ?' written on her best friend's face. "Actually, on my way out, I bumped into a woman and if she would'nt have had balanced herself, she could've fallen down. And i was in such a hurry that i didn't even apologize properly."
"It's okay, hun... Rhe next time you meet her, if it be, then you can repent over this." Ji na patted her shoulder. "But for now.... We need to look for dresses we'd wear to the Bachelorette now that my wedding gown has been finalized." Ji na reminded.
Both the women went out and started looking out for a dress as per their preference.
°°°°°°°° PRESENT; BACK TO THE TRIP °°°°°°°°
When she realised where she recognised the women from, she immediately looked away away, her back facing the woman approaching her, now.
Ji na saw Soo Jung standing awkwardly, so she approached her.
"What's wrong??" She asked.
"That woman from the shop, she's a guest at your party." Soo Jung confessed, embarrassed.
Ji Na looked over her friend's shoulder, "Ohh Shit!!", her eyes turned wide as she rotated in her stance too.
"You know her too?" Soo Jung asks a bit muddled.
"She was the one who helped me with my zipper the other day and then things were left on an itchy note." Ji Na clears it.
"So she was the one who you bumped into." Ji na says and Soo Jung nods her head as an answer.
The best friends stood there uneasily for a good amount of time until Ji na felt a hand tap at her shoulder which forced her to look at the bearer of the hand, but she whirls Soo Jung along with herself, both smothering a guilty look.
The woman's expressions falter a bit but transform into a smile soon. "Hey! I am Kim Min Ji, Taehyung's wife " She states chirpily.
The faces of both Soo Jung and Ji Na retorts into confused expressions.
"Hi... Sorry for yester-" Soo Jung gets cut in between.
"Sorry about what.....oh about the incident where we bumped into each other yesterday." Min Ji states calmly.
"Yup I was the one who suddenly left Ji Na alone. It's just I had learnt my assistant did this huge blunder....." Soo Jung starts to explain herself.
"It's completely fine... You don't have have to give me any explanation and no need to be awkward. You are Maid of Honour for lords sake... I can understand the pressure you have. The time's have passed by soo let's start anew, shan't we ?" Min Ji said as she put her hand forward in front of Soo Jung.
Soo Jung looked puzzled at Ji Na who was too shocked herself.
"Yeah... Yeah, for sure... You're right! Nice to meet you Min Ji... I'm Soo Jung by the way, Jin's Wife." Soo Jung smiled, taking Min Ji's hand for a hand-shake.
"Ms. Kang Ji Na or should i say soon-to-be Mrs Jeon Ji Na, the idol and bride-to-be. You looked soo familiar." Min Ji states with a warm smile.
"Hello Min Ji! I'm sorry, I'm just not used to be in public that way..." Ji Na confessed.
"It's completely fine..." Min Ji says as she leans in for a hug.
"I am glad you made it. It's really good to meet after so long. Jungkook tells a lot about you and Taehyung." Ji na states.
"I'm happy to meet you in person too Ji na..." Min Ji let's out.
AND THAT WAS ENOUGH TO BREAK THE ICE BETWEEN THEM.
"It's bizarre about how we never met even after the boys being such good friends..." Soo Jung turns to her for an excited hug.
"So what are we gonna do today..??" Ji na inquired.
"Let me present the amazing plans you have today, as this is your last day before you forget us for ethereal fiance of yours." Soo Jung teases and Ji Na can't help but start blushing.
The trip starts off with you guys changing into hiking attires to enjoy the mini hiking trip Soo Jung planned.
Ji Na seemed to be thrilled and very much after knowing the day Soo Jung planned.
All of the girls start excited for the perfect view the top most peak holds.
Hiking enthusiastically Soo Jung seemed to enjoy the trip. Being not much of active person herself the idea of hiking wouldn't much of a liking for her personally but when it comes to Ji Na she seems to be the opposite.
Soo Jung starts to breathe in the fresh crisp air and loved how the birds chirped pretty while she was surrounded by the lushious green trees with healthy sunshine peaked through the canopy when she looked up.
Everything seemed fine until..... halfway she suddenly remembered why she despised hiking.
Breathing heavy she tried to catch up with others but she can't permit it herself. She was just thankful Min Ji didn't leave her side purely through concern. Suddenly Soo Jung felt a cramp on her side.
She still tried to walk in failing a little by twisted her ankle. She just stood there cursing the person who mentioned to her that hiking was an amazing plan. 'Who was that Satan... Obviously it was Namjoon!!' she face palmed herself.
Min Ji faltered in her steps seeing Soo Jung was left behind. She approached her tired face.
"Are you okay, we can wait in the café which is just a minute away. Will you able to hang in till then?" Min Ji bent down to look at Soo Jung like a person would speak to a child hurt.
"I am fine....ouch..." Soo Jung moaned while trying to walk.
"Oh you seemed to have bent your ankle. It's fine let's just settle ourselves there." She says and guides Soo Jung to nearby artificial tree trunk fashioned bench.
"I can't believe I chose hiking of all activities. I know Ji Na loves it but I should I have known it would have been a bummer to me.....so much for asking Namjoon for advice." Soo Jung snorts.
Min Ji laughs at Soo Jung's childish bitterness.
"It's okay you can see Ji Na is having fun. So you did a great job. Don't be too hard on yourself." Min Ji comforts.
" Do you like hiking ???" Soo Jung asks for the sake of having conversation flow.
"I am neutral towards it. But I do love camping. I am looking forward to that." Min Ji remarks.
"Ohh I love camping too since I was a child. It used be the only reason I went camping. For amazing s'mores and playing funny yet memorable games with my friends. Those were some good days." Soo Just states while reminiscing her past camping memories which she can't forget about.
According to her those were the best of the summers she ever had.
"Same. I loved camping as a child too. It used to be the best part my summer. I used to love treasure hunting and all the team work we used to put in. It used to be so exhilarating as a kid." Min Ji states with admiration.
Soo Jung makes a agreeable noise.
"Which camp did y-" Soo Jung got cut off by Ji Na coming there way.
"Are you okay Soo Jung-Ah ?? I noticed you weren't with us in the café so I came back searching, did you hurt yourself?? " Ji Na asks concerned.
"No I am fine just sprained my ankle a little. Everything is good and dandy other than that." Soo Jung tries to cheer up to not worry Ji Na.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
Soon with her friend's assistance, Soo Jung finally reached the peak. When she takes in the beauty all her anger towards hiking washes away.
Now after having comforting spa treatments all of them get ready for the bon fire party arranged in the camping site.
Soo Jung brought in the most comfy sweaters with pjs to wear and she created a unique one with bride to be embroidery for Ji Na.
Tumblr media
Then all of the girls gathered around the bon fire to enjoy marshmallows with some booze.
All of it brought back soo many memories and Soo Jung couldn't help but feel warm that she is feeling the same endearment she felt when she was a little girl. With all the girls camping huddled up and cozied in one blanket, all of them enjoyed some amazing barbeque with delicious s'mores.
S'mores aroma and sticky yet amazing texture always brought back her childhood.
At the end all the girls played some random games like never have I ever and chatted about random things while being tipsy.

Next day they woke up, the sun peering through tent they crashed in and heard the most pleasing birds chirping.
Soo Jung exited the tent to see Min Ji and Ji Na already awake yet groggy sitting on the grass while sitting curled up by bringing their arms towards chest as if to protect themselves from the chill yet soothing spring early morning.
Soo Jung joined in while settling herself on the prickly yet fresh dewy grass.
She started to look at the beautiful butterflies which were on for their honey hunt. At the moment she felt the most peaceful in days.
"Last night was so amazing. I loved every second of the camping Soo Jung-Ah. Thank you for such an amazing surprise, Chingu-Ah." Ji Na said while hugging her Maid Of Honour lovingly.
"Anything for you..." Soo Jung returned a smile filled with warmth.
"How long do you guys know each other?" Min Ji asks curious.
"For five years or so right after she started her solo career I became her stylist and now her best friend. But it seems like I know her forever" Soo Jung remarks clearly admiring her friendship.
"Oh I was meaning to say this, I am a fan of your work and it completely reflects how creative you are, in the way you planned this trip. I enjoyed myself alot. It was just so.." Min Ji's fond ordeal is continued by Ji Na.
"Nostalgic... Right ?" Ji Na said.
"Yeahh.... Exactly..." MinJi let out.
"I felt that too" Soo Jung affirmed.
All of them start to giggle at the similarity and sat in comfortable silence remembering their childhood.

Soo Jung feel pleased to see everyone having fun and sips her drink in the corner.
All the start usher Soo Jung to make a toast. Soo Jung getting a little embarrassed just states how much she loves Ji Na and jokes about she might be the only fan who actually got to marry her idol.
Music started to create an amazing vibe for everyone to enjoy themselves. Ji Na's fellow idol friends performed one of their hit songs as a girl group and she herself joined in.
Soo Jung did plan few drinking game to get Ji Na wasted.
"Drink if you are married." Hwasa proposed which let to some of you take in the shot except for Ji Na who was forced into drinking any way as she was bride-to- be.
"Take a shot if you texted some one four hours straight." Irene remarks.
Soo Jung glares at Ji Na who seems to avoid taking a shot.
"Does it even count if you don't get a reply." Ji Na whines with defense.
"It sure does honey..." Hwasa states who is a little drunk herself and forces her to chug the drink. Everyone fall into a giggling fit even though things did not seem to be as funny. It's just every body seems to be tipsy.
"Take a shot if you met a movie star." Ji Na remarks with ulterior motive of revenge.
"Jin is not a movie star he is just an actor." Soo Jung remarks catching on her motives but fails as she is forced to take two more for denying.
By the time clock hits one all of the guests blacked out drunk chatting nonsense and some of them just moving to the beat.
Soo Jung cares for the safety of all the girls and ushers to their rooms to sober them up cause she really can't afford to ruin the wedding tomorrow.
After having a lovely day, Soo Jung feels a rush of relief wash over her. She relaxed for a while looking at her planner for further activities then realised she didn't check up on the boys.
She scrambles in for her phone on the nightstand.
Jungkook:What are... 2:55am
Ddeokdinnie:we are... Wednesday
Soo Jung opens in Jin's text first.
Ddeokdinnie[9:04am]: We are half way to Las Vegas
[ Photo sent]
Tumblr media
Ddeokdinnie[11:01]:We just checked in to our rooms. We sure gonna show a nice time to Jungkook-Ah, but that kid seems to have his brain elsewhere. So much for bringing him up to be a fool he is now🤦🏻‍♂️.
Ddeokdinnie [1:55pm]: You seem to be busy.Enjoy!
Ddeokdinnie [2:05am]: i m gld u ennjoying.i miss u....
Soo Jung can't help but smile at the small miss you which seems to be written after having right shots of soju.
Soo Jung replies Jin that they are safe and adds in a miss you and love you.
Now she goes to the attend Jungkook's text as the lover boy seems to be really brought up by Jinnie. Soo Jung chuckles reminiscing Jin's hypocrisy and opens the text with no intend to reply just to exhilarate him. Clearly in non positive ways.
Tsundure turned lover boy[1:05am] : I know Soo Jung you might have taken her phone away give it back to my Ji Na.
Tsundure turned lover boy[2:55am]:What are guys doing. I just wanted to check in if Ji Na was having fun......Let me know how she is.
Soo Jung coo's over Jungkook's adorable concern and feels tempted to message him back. But she doesn't, wanting to tease him a little and knowing he would pester Jin or Tae for the information anyway.
Soo Jung soon forces herself to sleep as she still has a lot of responsibility as a maid of honour and reminds her that this is not the end.
Next day she wakes up to the harsh ringtone of her phone.
"Hello..." She answers with scratchy voice.
"Hey...Soo Jung, This is Hobi. You seem to be still asleep. Seems like yesterday was wild. I have arrived to the venue...."
Soo Jung glances her watch too see she is late.
"Oh God I overslept I should have not participated in those drinking games.....I will be there soo just give me five. You are already aware of plans please follow through." Soo Jung states while hurriedly rushing to her closet and hanging up before Hobi finishes his okay.
❖ ── ✦ ── ✧ ─ ◈ ─ ✧ ── ✦ ── ❖
The D-day came when the heart throb of millions of women round the globe Mr. Jeon Jungkook, kpop idol turned camera director was going to be someone's man and the luckiest girl who had been chosen for him by the gods above was none other than Ms. Kang Ji Na, kpop idol who is not as much as famous as jungkook but still made a little space in the hearts of netizens with her charm, dignity and hard work which never let downs her fans.
They both were more like a couple made in heaven. It was like as if a committee was setup in the ethereal heaven with various gods, goddesses and angels discussing over who should marry jungkook and how to make his wedding one of the best ones the universe had ever experienced.
There was golden silence in the room until the alarm popped out of no where and kept roaring like a wild cat.
Ji na gave it a few hits as if it were her own fiendish child weeping to get his things done and she trying to keep his mouth shut.
"Ji na, get up!!!" yelled her mom.
"Eomma...five more minutes..." moaned Ji na,trying hard to overcome the state she was in.
"You can't still be asking for five more minutes like you always do pabo...its your wedding day and you have loads to do." told her mom in one go.
On hearing that she gets up at the speed of light.
"AHHH!!! It's my important day. How did I forget?? Eomma, I still cant believe I'm getting married. Its happening..OMG I'm soo nervous." she says exhilaratingly.
Her mom is rather a calm lady unlike Ji na who couldn't hold up her emotions that well and state to tear up for no reason.
Her mom plants a kiss on Ji na's forehead as a sign to make her calm down.
"Eomma, can you pinch me...cause I cant believe I'm actually getting hitched up with Jungkook." says Ji na frantically.
Her mom considers it to be her one and only best and the last chance to take revenge from her daughter for troubling and teasing her from the day she was born.
She pinches Ji na so hard that her entire body suffers from redness and make her look like a cherry.
"AHHHHH!!!!!! Eomma not that hard..You shouldn't be taking your grudge on your young, beautiful daughter like this.." tells Ji na rubbing the spot where her mom gave her a mark that's probably gonna last till she dies.
"It was a pay back Ji na..its nothing when compared to how you made me suffer by living in LA and leaving me alone in korea.." exclaims her mom.
Ji na gives her mom a tight hug and a peck on her cheek..
The door which was kept ajar opens in the blink of an eye and there stands a 5 '11" tall, young man with black hair which doubtlessly looks like a dense enchanted forest.
Ji na looses her grip on her mom and jumps onto the man like a tigress coming for her prey and he catches her softly in his arms and Pat's her back.
"NAMJOONAH!! You arent supposed to be here." lies ji na who missed him a lot and wanted to see him very badly.
"What is Jungkook doing?" inquired Ji na letting loose of namjoon.
"He panicked when you didn't pick up his call..he called you numerous times and he ended up sending me here to check on you" complained namjoon.
"Oh shit!! I didn't check my phone from last night... SooJung and MinJi made me drink FIVE FULL SHOTS of soju at the bachelorette's. You know that I get drunk with just one shot ..it took me time to sober up" she exclaimed.
"Umm I see...I guess you guys had a lot of fun at the party while we kept wondering what you guys were doing and just wasted our precious time at ours." Namjoon complained rubbing his finger on his chin.
"Don't lie joonie!! You guys went to Las Vegas for your bachelor's while we stayed back at here. That explains how you guys enjoyed a lot more than we did." Whined Ji na holding both her hands firmly to her waist.
"I wish what you said was true. We indeed went to Las Vegas, but the party got messed up and Kookie ended up drinking like a monster, chanting your name and crying like a baby and we were thrown out of the bar for his behaviour..." Namjoon sighed.
Ji na couldn't control her cackle and laughed out loud, " I wish I could see him like that".
"Namjoon, I think you should leave now and help your brother. It's an important day for him, TODAY." interrupted Ji na's mom.
She quickly yeeted Ji na into her bath room asking her to get herself a shower. Namjoon smiled and made his way out of the room.
But before Namjoon left the room Ji na shouted, "OPPA!! Tell jungkook that I love him and I love you too oppa....BYE!!!"
Namjoon quickly peeked through the door and gave her a big smile showing off his cute dimples.
Ji na took off her clothes in the bath room and made her way into the shower. She drenched her whole goddess figure with water. After 5 minutes of standing like a statue in the shower, she grabbed the shampoo and manipulated it on her hair until her hair oozed out with foam.
She tried to style her hair with foam and acted like the character she was in and also tried to add up karaoke to her performance.
She finished her so called bathroom concert and dabbed her damp, trickling body with a fluffy towel and came out of her bathroom with a thick bathrobe.
As soon as she came out she was yeeted onto her bed by two beautiful women who were indeed her best friends.
"SOOJUNG , MIN JI ....you scared me to death... GOSH..." she stuttered.

The maid of honour, Mrs. Kim Soo Jung and The bride's entourage, Mrs. Kim Min Ji are twinning in a beige sheath silhouette and the hemline reaching their ankle.
"Here!! Ji na take off that robe" SooJung said plainly.
"YAHHH!!! What are your intentions??? I'm gonna complain about you two to my husband" Ji na joked.
The three of them kept laughing for a while.
"We came here to help you with your make up,hair and your dress Ji na" MinJi exhaled.
"Oh!!that's great, So we'll start now" smiled Ji na switching her mood.
Soojung helped Ji na style her dress . The wedding gown was a ball silhouette which had a transparent fabric at the back with a zipper and her bust being a bit revealing in the front . The gown was extremely long with beautiful embroidery sewn on the hemline.
The fabric at her back was see-through and glittery which made Ji na's beautiful back on display for everyone to watch.
Min ji helped Ji na with her bridal make up and fixed her long locks.

The bride's family arrived at the hotel where the ceremony was about to take place. They were greeted into the hotel by the hotel staff.
Simultaneously, the groom's family also arrives.
Min ji and Soo jung swiftly grabbed Ji na's hand and they ran to their hotel room.
"YAHH! Leave my hand...it hurts" Ji na complains.
" I'm sorry Ji na, But you know it's considered bad luck for you both to see each other before marriage " explain MinJi.
Ji na keeps dreaming of her past about how jungkook hated her like hell and later falling hard for her after coming to know the real her.
A sudden beep of her phone breaks her reverie. Before Ji na could check her phone Soo jung yanks it from her hand.

" Umm...so you guys are planning to meet before the wedding huh!! You very clearly know that we are never letting that happen" bawls Soo jung.
"But......I want to see him very badly." Pouts Ji na.
" Soo jung, let's prank Jungkook by sending Tae instead of Ji na" says MinJi enthusiastically ignoring Ji na.
"That's a great idea!! I'll message Jungkook telling him to put a blind fold so that he won't know its Tae.." grins Soo jung while texting Jungkook.
The both ladies end up dressing Taehyung into Ji na's spare wedding gown and decorating his head with a large wig. They lock Ji na in the hotel room and follow Taehyung .
Taehyung quickly knocks the door twice where Jungkook was waiting in and enters the room valorously while the two young ladies tip toe into the room and hide behind the couch for a better view of the drama they were gonna encounter.
Jungkook yanks Taehyung into his arms and holds him tightly not giving him enough space to breathe.
" Bae!! You've turned a lot more muscular than the last time I saw you. Don’t you think you've been gyming a lot these days?" Said the blind folded man, vigorously kissing Taehyung's neck.
Taehyung couldn't stop his guffaw .Jungkook takes off his blindfold on hearing a manly sound. To his damn, God for saken surprise, he found three familiar personalities rolling on the floor and laughing their heart out.
He feels extremely abashed and his cheeks turn red as an apple from the embarrassment he faced then.
" You really thought it was easy for you to meet Ji na before your wedding. Didn't you ?" Laughed Min ji holding her painful stomach .
Jungkook was completely speechless at that point and he couldn't utter a word to defend himself. The three of them kept teasing him and enjoyed themselves laughing at the awkward Jungkook.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
Now, the actual deal of the day was to come about. Jungkook and Ji na were just 30 minutes away from starting their new lives together and annexing their names with each other.
The wedding hall was pervaded with a horde of dignified guests seated on their respective tables on the either side of the aisle.
Jungkook's parents positioned themselves on the left side of the aisle on the stage while Ji na's parents installed themselves onto the right side of the aisle. Both the elderly couples were dressed in their traditional hanbok while the other family members and the guests designed themselves with modern western style.
The wedding hall was beautifully decorated with flowers and so the hall was filled with fragrance of those beautiful flowers. There were daisies, calla lilies, ranunculus, tulips, roses of different shades etc. There were wedding curtains here and there which camouflaged with the tint of those beautiful flowers. And not to forget about the sweet strains of classical music that drifted through the crowd.
Jungkook was stunning in a single-breasted charcoal tuxedo with a white wing collar shirt and a cute black bow tied around his neck line with some artificial white calla lily along with it's buds worn on the lapel of the tuxedo. He situated himself on the dais afore the aisle.
Tumblr media
The guest tables were crammed with few costly goodies of dryfruits, champagne bottles, distilled water bottles and few pre wedding photo cards of Jungkook and Ji na.
The bride's maids accompanied Ji na to the aisle helping her hold her long gown. Ji na stood idle for a while at one end of the aisle meeting her eyes with Jungkook's who stood at the other end. All the heads turned to face the far end of the walk. The music stopped and the opening to the bridal chorus began to play.
Jungkook couldn't help but stare and grin at his gorgeous wife-to-be.
*****Jungkook's P.O.V*****
I couldn't believe my eyes. I know, Ji na is beautiful but I never thought she'd look absolutely stunning in a wedding dress. If I knew it before then I'd asked her to wear it every time we met. My eyes stopped listening to my brain and started to tear up in happiness .It was obvious cause it is the first time that my eyes encountered the most beautiful thing in the world,my dearest Ji na-Ssi. But I still managed to roll back few droplets just to ensure nobody would make fun of me after.
The dress perfectly fitted onto her. I couldn't help but notice her flawless love handles. I even cursed and swallowed harshly when Ji na stood before me like that.
She wore a Cinderella ball gown with embroidery on her bodice. Rhine stones and Pearls were sewn on her gown that matched her crystal head piece. She held a French rose silk bouquet. When she began to walk towards me my heart beat matched with her pace. It started beating so fast that I thought it'll probably gonna tear up my chest.
The way she looked at me when she started to walk towards me had sent an arrow that pierced through my heart.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
Ji na positioned herself beside Jungkook a feet away from him, but he managed to pull her towards him by her waist. She gave a warming look at him with a big smile on her face. And jungkook grabbed a chance to give a peck on her cheek.
"Cherished family members and honoured guests, I would like to thank each of you for coming out this evening", the preacher on the podium spoke.
" Let us begin by offering thanks to the lord on this wonderful day", all of them bowed their heads and he prayed.
The preacher led them through their vows and it was time for the exchange of rings. Both of them slipped their rings on each others fingers.
" By the power vested on me, I now proclaim you both husband and wife. Now, You may kiss the bride." the preacher ordered.
Jungkook leaned forward onto Ji na and kissed her plump lips placing his hands on her shoulder.
Tumblr media
The emcee of the ceremony was elected to be Mr. Kim Seokjin, actor and best friend of Jungkook. He performed his duties very well from guiding the guests to introducing the cake cutting and bouquet throwing activities at the end of the wedding by cracking jokes in between that kept the guests entertained.
Jin announced the dinner and the hotel staff placed the delicious food before the guests guided by jimin who took the charge of catering .
Mean while Ji na and Jungkook left the hall to change their outfit into a comfortable one. The Best Man and Maid of Honour trailed behind them to help them.
Jungkook followed Ji na to her room but the bridesmaid's successfully shoo-ed him away.
They returned to the hall and sat beside each other on the podium. Jin handed over his mic to his beloved wife to give a speech and so the entertainment continued as each of their friends started singing, dancing and giving speeches for them. Jungkook even managed to pull Ji na to dance with him.
After the commencement of their evening, the guests were offered dessert and the couple went back again to change their outfits into traditional korean hanbok.
They returned the hall holding each others hand and greeted each and every guest at their respective tables. The guests stood up at their places pausing for hugs and kisses congratulating the young couple and giving them beautiful gifts.
Jungkook managed to invite south korean president and the first lady who just arrived at the time the newly weds were greeting their guests. The older couple congratulated the younger ones and handed over a venus flower basket which has a great reason to it's own. In Japan it symbolizes " till death do us part". They helped them reach out safely, greeted them once again for accepting their invitation and returned back into the hall.
Ji na then turned around throwing her bouquet behind her. The women collided with each other as they tried to catch it.
Jungkook and Ji na ran to the decorated Ferrari that waited for them. Taehyung and Jin tried to stop both of them from escaping, just to tease them.
Taehyung tried hard not to step on Ji na's long trail that brushed the ground as they ran. They were so quick to get away. Jungkook jumped in the driver's seat helping Ji na settle herself in the passenger seat. Jungkook took off as if it were a race. The ribbons, twisted coils whisked in the wind behind them.
The happily married couple left the hotel all by themselves to get few dates and chest nuts for the pybaek ceremony held at Ji na's in-laws place.
"I'm not gonna speak to you, Ji na . You hurted me...", said jungkook seriously steering .
"What did I do kookie?" Ji na cried out.
"Firstly, you didn't show up when I texted you. And worst of all you sent Taehyung instead. You know how they made fun of me", complained Jungkook.
" I sent you a sorry text later sweet heart", Ji na defended herself.
Jungkook gave Ji na a staid glare.
" And secondly, you've distracted me during the entire wedding with that sexy dress of yours and ofcourse your seductive figure. My mom caught me eyeing your provocative figure and she gave me a death glare...", pouted Jungkook.
Ji na chuckled and leaned forward to give Jungkook a quick kiss and settled herself to where she was before.
" Are you tryna give me a ROADHEAD baby girl. I'm ready for it . Go on", Jungkook laughed.
"STOP KOOKIE!!! You're so shameless. There are people here", shouted Ji na cutting her eye contact with Jungkook's and blushing all herself.
Jungkook halts his car at the parking of the store and both of them entered the store merrily.
Ji na let goes jungkook's hand in the store helping herself to find a small pack of nuts. After 15 minutes of struggling, she eventually finds the perfect sized pack.
She turns to face her husband to show him what she got. To her surprise she finds him standing at the bill counter with a large pack which is half of his height.
Ji na quickly grabs Jungkook out of the queue .
" What are you doing Ji na? You cant see I'm paying up there!! " Jungkook yells.
" Is this whole packet for the entire family? Pybaek's only for us bae. We dont need a larger pack." Ji na explains while throwing the large one to where it was before.
" I want you to collect as many nuts as possible with your skirt at pybaek so that we'll have many kids." Jungkook says in a matter of fact tone.
" This man's probably gonna kill me with those looks some day and he never forgets to embarrass me everywhere " she thought to her self hitting her palm on her forehead .
She grabs Jungkook by his hand, paying off at the counter for the packet and yeeting him into their car.
Jungkook trails behind her silently and gives her a soft kiss and they're off to their destination.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
Both the couple arrive at Jungkook's lavish house and his parents greeted the young couple into their house. Ji na handed over the packet to her mother in law .
Both of them entered the hall way which was crowded with their friends and family members.
" You were fast kid. Both of you ran as if you were eloping." said Jin bursting out his wind shielded laugh.
" I realized that if we both stayed there you and your wife were never going to let us breathe. So we had to do that." replied Jungkook with a poker face.
" Let us begin the ceremony. " called out jungkook's mom.
Ji na and jungkook sit facing eachother beside the table decorated with chestnuts and dates.
Ji na and jungkook hold a white apron from both it's ends and his parents threw them towards the newly weds. Jungkook gives his 100% , catching everything without missing a single seed. Ji na couldn't stop but give jungkook a kiss on his cheek for his extraordinary performance .
The number caught signifies the no. of girls (dates) and boys (chestnuts) they would bear in future.
Later Jungkook lifts Ji na on his back and gives her a ride to denote his strength which is a part of ceremony.
Jungkook places a chestnut between his lips and its Ji na's turn now to take a bite from his mouth.
All of their friends and family members cheer them and enjoy themselves with the drinks and so the wedding day ended on a happy note.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
The next day Jungkook wakes up first yet late after their first official first night from a state where Jungkook back hugged Ji na tightly, protecting her from the cold breeze and their duvet being tangled up between their legs.
He quickly gives Ji na a cute sleep peck on her forehead and goes out into their new kitchen to make her breakfast.
After a while, he comes back with two cups of caffé latte along with croissants and wakes his wifey up.
" WOW!!! I'm quite impressed. " exclaims Ji na giving him a kiss to appreciate his efforts.
" I did this only to get a kiss from you and now my mission is successful." he says joyfully plonking on the bed beside Ji na.
»»-—————--✧✦✧--—————-««
A sharp door bell breaks Ji na and Jungkook apart who were probably enjoying their best quality time watching a movie while cuddling each other. Jungkook curses even without knowing who showed up at their home, gets up angrily to attend the door.
As he opened the door he hears a loud thud followed by metallic sheet pieces, ribbons falling straight on his head.
When he recovers from the unexpected blast he sees his's and Ji na's friends standing with balloons, party supplies and beverages.
They hug Jungkook and run into his house without his permission. He stands there for a while with a poker face and ofcourse crying internally for the interruption they caused.
He closes the door and returns to where ji na is.
" Jungkook-ah, sorry for the intervention. It's been a long time since our last meet so we just came here to see you both. ", explains Taehyung.
'It was yesterday we last met . This bastard is getting on my nerves' Jungkook thought to himself giving him a fake smile and crying internally.
Ji na senses Jungkook's annoyance and tries to calm him down, simultaneously, greeting the guests trying hard not to show them how they actually feel.
" It's been so long we all sat together like this. So I thought it would be a great around every one and come to breach our lovely weds time." Namjoon wiggled his eyebrows teasingly while Jungkook got more pissed.
"Oh my God I just asked Jungkook to watch it with me. I myself was really looking forward to it. It's gonna be amazing view from our balcony.I am glad you brought in all of us together." Ji Na states excited but yet feels the longing gaze Jungkook gives.
" This was gonna be our thing, You spoiled it hyung." Jungkook whined poutyly but Ji Na pulled him closer to comfort the giant man child.
Soon every body gathered in the balcony. With some Chinese take out brought in by the considerate Jimin.
Namjoon started to adjust the telescope to view the shower more precisely to be able to witness it's beauty.
All started to anticipate the meteor shower to start soon as per the live news shown on the internet. All just cuddled up in their blankets and fell into random conversations.
Couples start to get sappy to which the single boys started to mock yet all were grateful to have their loved ones together to witness something that will happen only few times in a period of human existence.
"So what were you guys doing fifteen years back." Taehyung asks
"You know, we were just a bunch of dorky kids who wouldn't even care about once in a life time astronomical deals, it was characterized nerdy." Yoongi retorts sarcastically.
" That was the reason I didn't invite you guys then." Namjoon states silently while still peering through the telescope.
" Oh God!! I saw one. Guys!!! it's happening!! " Namjoon states excited as if he were the same kid fifteen years ago.
Soon the meteors start falling through distinct sky appearing like beautiful splinters of fire which can be explained as the fireworks made by nature.
Along with Namjoon all others start to get excited and some of them start jiggling around happily while holding to the balcony reeling.
The maknaes pushed their hyung to try and see the meteors a little nearer through the only telescope.
While staring with lightened smile MinJi states" I remember seeing this while camping when I was eleven with two of my best friends. It was one of the most beautiful thing I ever witnessed and that with them along with me. It's nostalgic seeing it again today", said with her eyes sparkling.
Soo Jung gets a little confused " What a coincidence I saw the meteor shower in a summer camp with my friends too."
Ji Na can't help but cut in and she felt a chill run down her spine for such an absurd coincidence the world has ever played on them.
"So Min.... Minty, Oh God Min Ji!! Are you MINTY POO?" Ji Na shouts shocked.
"That means, Soo Jung you are SOJU BUN !!" MinJi exclaims.
Now all of them just look at themselves in silence
"What are you long lost sisters or something..?" Yoongi remarks sarcastically while not being able to digest the trio's exaggerated expressions.
All of them just start giggling together as what Yoongi said was actually close to reality.
"Some thing like that, Yoongi... All of us went to the same summer camp when we were eleven that's where we know each other from." Soo Jung enunciates.
" Wow!! I can't believe this can all be coincidental and it's so absurd we didn't realize this till today." Ji Na states still in daze about the new found information.
" It's okay Jiffy Bugga..." Soo Jung teases.
" I can't believe we found each other again. I missed you guys so much after I left the summer camp. I still get dew-eyed thinking about our memories." Min Ji says while pulling the two girls for a group hug.
"W-Wha-Ba-Hahaha... " Taehyung cracks up listening to his wife's name. "Minty poo!! " He says breathely, earning a slap on his arm from MinJi herself.
"Soju Bun huh. Should have told me sooner." Jin teases Soo Jung while patting her head.
Soo Jung kicks him to his shin and he exclaims way dramatically than the actual pain.
" I just meant that I don't need real SOJU when i have you." He says, agonizing in pain while Soo Jung side eyes him.
On seeing their hyung suffer like that, all the boys who were previously laughing, instantly shut up while Jungkook who was about to taunt Ji na with her nick name clamps his mouth up too.
After the girls stop getting perplexed and emotional about there unexpected reunion they pull a toast for life and how things can turn out so unexpected.

Replenishing and rediscovering the child inside me
Replenishing and rediscovering the child inside me (other version)
Replenishing and rediscovering that child inside me (poem)
Where did my inner child
Go..
He did not aimlessly used to wear that formal smile and pass it to the world around bim
but despite of unrealistic laughter & his smile his happiness used to
make his heart dance in enthusiasm
and use to shine
like diamonds in his innocent eyes...
now that child tries to depict lies from his emotionless face*
to fit in this world with a feeling utter state of
pointlessness and depression*
Oh child inside us
You have such a heart that used to be so lubricated with true joy in such a little things~
Visiting new place you knew nothing of excited you to the point you wanted to explore it as much as possible know the mysterious world around you
Cause your tiny heart thought that the world is so big and filled with wonders you knew nothing of that your tiny hands wanted to grasp and embrace them~
But then gradually the warmth faded away realising that this life is not a bed of roses... But a race~
A race against reality and yourself and a unjustified fight for " survival"
Oh thy inner child
you used to think that life is supposed to be lived but no it is all about how to survive through out these flames....
There exists no true joy anymore... This survival of the fittest... Became a painful game....
True joy sealed off...
There exists no sun shine like before
Mankind ... Wearing a mask to decaying the naturalness of life
I look for you ohh child
Deep in the darkness searching everywhere to find myself...
Where are you my child
Seems like
Harsh reality crushed you
Lies broke you
People's selfishness... Swallowed you...
Cold hearts... Led you deeper into a ocean you never knew you'd be able to go...
Oh child... How do I stop your cries...
How long until... You completely vanish away ?leaving me all broken and incomplete
Scared... Lonely... Loveless waiting from ages for something entirely unknown
Oh weeping child
What do you wish to see
What do you wish to be
Don't you feel left behind...(out) ?being there
Don't you want to see the paradise so far and so vast
Don't you want to go on an adventure of your own true world filled with sweet memories...
Don't you wish to create a world with greenery within yourself to bloom
Don't you want to free yourself from the darkness you locked up yourself away from your favourite things and this mysterious world u used to smile at with curiousity and looked forward To...
Hey child inside me where have you faden away?
Come here.... And sit like a lively kid
Tell me the things that used to reflect stars and moon in your eyes
As if they all are shining for you only
Tell me how i looked when my smile use to be real.
...What's the point of Being so called mature .and knowing life..if you have started to think more than
You feel things..
oh child
you had to engulf his innocence for the sake survival in this cruel world
By running away from your heart to the head
how cruel have you become to yourself....?
By running away from your own heart...?
im Still Stuck in my own head remembering the happy lil child i used to be and all that's left is
A cold place
No warmth sease to exist...
A place where there is no living thing
Curled up waiting for light in
A place so unknown... No doors to trespass
No mirrors to look...
No walls either !
No tears
No smile
No joy... No blissfulness... No true heartedness either...
Just numbness
A place of infinite darkness, myths silence and nothingness
A place where the birds are not singing
A place
Where even flowers are hiding there tears
Oh weeping flowers in the garden
Why do you cry
For something you can't get
Oh weeping trees out in the green forests
why cry? when you will be cut down till you see no growth in yourself
I ask myself
Where is my willfulness & zest
in my every day mornings Which i used to have...
Oh... I guess.. it has probably as well washed away from myself...
Oh dear inner child
Disappeared away into a place so unknown even I can't trace you back up... But hey it's me
seeking u from a while
I know you are anxious because you thought of this world as a merry and lovely phenomena
Yea it is not although
How long will your cry down there??
Look how the starts still illuminates for everything you do
You gotta arise again
I know you could not just wash away in this rain of extreme pain of the battle known to as life
I know you have'nt deceased yet
You are just hidden due to all the traumas
Right ?
You are right here deep down dwelling with in me in most inner core of my heart
And one day i will wake up from this nightmare in a world full of wonders
Stretching out my arms to feel the warmth of the new paradise that opened up for me
I dance in the endless grasslands filled with joy and excitements.. ..
And then
Running around the paradise
While the air bows down to the grass beneath me
Dancing in it as the grass welcomes me
Flowers bloom in my path leading me towards myself once again
Ultimately free of the pain~ falling in love with this wonderful life~realising
That life is not to be just survived
It is to be lived and to be loved
Cuz dear there is *only one*

From the shore, a young woman stared at her foolish boyfriend splashing frantically around in the sea.
“Come on, get in! The water feels great!”
She looked at the waves crashing near her feet and hated that what started as stupid joke soon turned into reality.
“I don’t know” She replied hesitantly. “Isn’t it cold?! Or what if someone sees us?” She asked. “You know what they will do if we get caught, right?”
“No! It’s not cold at all! Now get in before someone does come!” He yelled back.
She contemplated the situation but backed away to avoid getting wet.
“Come back! I feel like someone is going to see us!”
“Stop being such a scaredy cat!”
She looked at the sea again and sighed. He was such a fool for always doing anything for her.
“I’m sorry” She whispered to herself.
“Alright!!” She said giving in. She kicked her shoes aside, careful not to get any sand in them. “Turn around!! I don’t want you to watch me!!”
“What are you trying to hide?” He asked.
“Nothing!! Now turn around before I change my mind!”
He laughed out loud but obeyed.
“You better not try anything funny!” She yelled as she moved her hands around to take her clothes off.
“Ready?!” He asked pretending to take a peek.
“No!!” She yelled back. “Turn around or I’ll change my mind!”
Standing only in her bra now, she made sure that he was not looking before beginning to make her way into the water towards him.
“See, babe? Everything is fine!” He replied once he heard splashing nearby.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever” She replied with a smile as she finally reached him.
The waves became calm as she wrapped her arms around him. There was still some distance between them but he didn’t mind. She was there with him now.
“Why are you complaining if you’re the one who wanted to come out here?” He asked with a grin.
She quickly kissed him.
“Who said I was complaining?” She replied. Before saying anymore, she looked at the water surrounding them. “But if I’m being honest… I am a little nervous though”
He huffed and stuck his chest out. “Don’t worry. I’m here! I’ll protect you!”
She laughed but let him go in the process, swimming a few feet away from him.
“But who will protect you?” She asked.
“What do you mean?” He quipped. “It’s just you and me! We’ve got nothing to worry about! Now come back here! It’s lonely swimming out here all by myself”
She seemed distant but he was determined to make her feel better.
“Hey… What’s wrong? Is it too cold out here? We can go back”
She looked at the sea surrounding them. As gentle as the waves were, she knew it was merely the calm before the storm.
“I don’t know. Maybe we should go back”
He began to make his way over to her but she looked at him and just shook her head backing away.
“No… Let’s stay like this” She replied, changing her mind.
He stared at her confused.
“Be honest… Tell me what’s wrong”
“Sorry.. it’s just, you must think I’m crazy for dragging you out here”
“No” He replied. “I’d do anything you ask”
Guilty, she looked away. “I know. You’re crazy”
“Only for you!” He smiled.
They both began to laugh. It was moments like this that she would miss.
“I wish we could just stay like this” She replied.
“Why not?”
As the laughs subsided, he looked at her in the moonlight. She was as beautiful as ever but now that she was in the sea with him, he began to see her in a new light. The gentle waves had soaked through her bra. Mesmerized, he tried to get his mind off of her nipples peaking though but before he could do anything, he felt something grab him from underneath the water.
“What the? Something’s got my leg!” He yelled.
Struggling to fight whatever it was that had his leg, he began to scream.
“Help me!”
“I’m sorry” She replied as she looked on.
From across the way, she watched unfazed as his head bobbed up and down in the water. Eventually his screams stopped and all that could be heard were the waves again. Beneath the sea, he continued to try and gasp for air but there was no such luck for him as water made its way down his throat. As he struggled to swim back up to where she was, he became horrified at what he saw. Under the same moonlight that had cut through the water, he saw two giant fish tails attached to human bodies swimming above him.
“Took you long enough” A new voice called from behind her.
She turned and saw her fellow sister swimming next to her now.
“Shut up, it was my first time”
“Mmmmhm….” She replied unimpressed. “Too much unnecessary chit chat in my opinion”
She looked at her sister annoyed now.
“Do you know how hard it is to lure someone out here?” She asked. “It takes a whole lot of convincing since no one wants to touch these damned waters”
Her sister gave out an exasperated laugh. “Geez. Why so mad?” She asked.
She turned away. “I’m tired … let’s go before they have nothing left for us”
“Ohh don’t tell me that you actually had feelings for him. I don’t blame you… he was kinda cute” Her sister began to joke.
The young mermaid looked back at where he once was.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Now come on… before someone sees too”
---
It was no secret that your kind existed. In fact, mermaids were often marveled for their beauty but feared for what they really were. As legends would have it, mermaids were far from innocent. Not only did mermaids kill humans.. they also ate them.
As a mermaid, you had heard numerous tales about your kind since you were young. To mankind, mermaids were smart, cunning, and untrustworthy. To their credit, they weren’t wrong. But so were the humans in their own way. Due to their constant abuse of the sea, pollution had caused the water in which you lived in to become barren, causing your kind to resort to drastic measures  to survive.
You had watched numerous ships sink in your life time and had seen hundreds drown and die in front of you. At times you felt bad about taking a life but then the hunger would strike and always overcome that feeling. You were curious about the life outside the sea but you knew better than to go on land by yourself as it was unsafe. In no time, people going missing at sea were no longer deemed just an accident and soon a war waged against humans and your kind. Borders began to be built around the land and sea and anyone seen crossing on either side  were either captured or killed on sight.
As the years went by, food became even more scarce. As you watched your fellow merpeople succumb to death due to starvation, you knew you had to cross the border to find food for yourself or perish along with the others.
“Be careful up there Y/N. The human world is not like ours. If they find out that you are a mermaid, they will kill you.”
You sighed. “I know, mom”
“When you reach the human world, you must find clothes quickly and don’t forget what I told you....”
You sighed again. Not because you did not want to heed her warnings but that you wished she knew that you could do this. You hugged her one last time to reassure her.
“I’ll come back. I promise… and I’ll be back with some food soon for everyone”
You both swam up to the surface. Not to far from you was the wall.
“We’ll cause a distraction. As soon as they have their eye on us, swim to the gate.”
You nodded.
“Make sure no one sees and crawl in quickly.. And Y/N…”
You looked at your mother one last time expecting criticism.
“I’m proud of you for doing this. I love you.”
After your mother’s last words, she swam off before you could reply.
Against the currents, you hid, waiting for your que to go. Before long, you heard an explosion from above and alarms began to blare to alert the others.
“Not yet” You told yourself. “The gate…”
More shots were fired and soon you heard the gate drop down. Heavy footsteps bantered against the ground and then stopped as they tried to find your mother..
“Now” You told yourself.
You could hear the commotion behind you as you crawled through the gate and onto land. It was late in the day but you still needed to make sure that no one could see you and dry off quickly so you could  gain your human legs.  As you crawled undetected, you expected the pain of being out of water for the first time to hurt like hell. Those who had done it before described it as having the water literally knocked out of you. First, your lungs struggled to adapt to the air completely and then your tail would split into two… That was by far the worst part it seemed and you shuddered thinking about the thought but continued.
Your arms were bruised from crawling up the gravel road but off in the distance was finally someone’s house. You searched the premise for anything that could help dry you off and saw that a few items were left to hang on a line. You tugged the fabric and saw clothespins fly to the ground. Finally dry, there was no pain as your mermaid tail suddenly turned into a pair of legs in front of you. You wiggled your toes and stared at your new human form. Confused, you began to wonder why others felt pain when you had felt nothing. Was it just a lie they told to keep your kind safe and away from wanting to go on land?
You got up slowly and marveled at the new feeling of feet but found yourself struggling like a doe. You instantly crashed to the ground and scraped your new knees. A few more tries and then you could get it, right? You got up again but knocked a few items over to the floor.
“Who’s out there?!” You heard an old voice calling.
“Who are you and what do you want!??” It continued.
You sat back down with the random fabric wrapped around you. If he knew what you were, your mission would have been all for nothing.
“Please help me” You weakly responded.
An old man peered around the corner. In his hands was a familiar instrument you had seen before. A gun was what your mom called it.
“Who are you?” He angrily  asked.
“I’m Y/N” You tiredly replied.
“What are you doing out here by yourself at this hour?”
Before he could continue, he saw your bruised arms and knees. “Who did this to you?” He asked.
“Please, I need help” You replied.
He looked at the condition that you were in and saw the blood on your legs.
“Come here, let’s go inside. I already called the police before I came outside… They can get you to a doctor”
You began to panic at the mention of the police.
“I can’t” You cried. “My legs.. I can’t move”
The old man put his gun aside and walked over to you to give you a hand. You stumbled onto your new legs but felt more familiar with them as you walked with him into his home.
“I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier. You must have been through a lot tonight..” He began to say to you.
You remained silent and continued to focus on your legs.
“Are you from around this area? You must be scared all out here by yourself” He continued.
You finally shook your head. “I’m not from here. And scared?” You asked. “No, are you?”
The man looked at you and smiled
“No”
You smiled back and then moved your hands up to gently grab his face.
“Thank you… but you should be” You replied.
The smile that was present before began to fade away at your words. Before he could process what was going to happen next, you opened your mouth to reveal your mermaid teeth and took a bite out of his neck, instantly killing him.
You ate what you could. After finishing your first real meal in months, you sighed in content. Still covered in blood, you knew you had to clean up if you wanted to get out unnoticed. You dragged what parts remained of the man and moved it off to the side. It was a shitty job, but you were in a rush and needed to clean yourself up.
You took off to look around his home and soon found a bath. Unsure of what could happen, you carefully got in and remembered what your mother told you. If enough water touched you, you could turn back into a mermaid here.
You turned the knob and sure enough, your tail came back. Desperate, you cleaned and dried  yourself quickly and found what clothes you could.
You left the man's home and made your way further into town. You didn’t know where you were going but you knew you had to get away. Behind you, sirens had begun to go off. Unsure of where to go, you quickly turned into the next building to get away.
As you walked in, smooth music began to play in front of you. You continued forward and into the room.
“Party of one?” A young woman asked from behind a desk.
You continued looking around.
“What is this place?” You asked.
The woman looked at you surprised. “Oh is this your first time here? This is a jazz club! The only one in town!”
She was much too chipper for you.
“Jazz club?” You asked.
“Yes, and the next show is about to start soon too! Let me get you seated” She quickly looked at her seating chart and then back to you. “I’m sorry but is a bar seat okay for now? This is our busiest time”
You thought of the police outside and nodded.
“That will be fine, thank you”
She smiled widely and led you in. “Follow me”
True to her words, the club was filled with patreons. She led you through a group of people and pointed to the bar.
“Have a seat and someone should be over to help you soon!”
As you sat down, you looked at the bottles in front of you and let out a sigh in relief. You were away from all the police outside but now you were in another new territory. Would alcohol have an effect on you? Water though ... if enough water were to come in contact with your skin, you would instantly turn back into a mermaid and give your position away.
“Hi beautiful, can I buy you a drink?” A raspy voice called.
Was this really how humans courted each other?
You turned and saw a plump man with way too much cologne on. Either way, he could be your next meal if you planned everything correctly.
“I would love one” You replied.
“What would you like?” He asked smiling.
Your knowledge on types of drinks were too limited.
“Why don’t you decide?” You replied.
The man smiled and signaled a bartender over.
“Two gin and tonics, please”
“Coming right up” A young man replied from behind you.
You turned to look up at the bartender and was taken back by the man behind the counter. For the first time in your life, it felt as if the world had stopped spinning as you looked at the person in front of you. Raven haired and skin kissed ever so lightly by the sun. His rolled up sleeves also revealed what looked like art on his arms.
“I haven’t seen you around.. first time here?” He asked breaking your concentration. He smiled and you could tell that your face was burning.
“Uhh.. Yeah..” You replied. “I just heard about it and decided to come check it out”
The man simply smiled again  and nodded as he scooped up some ice.
“Well, welcome to The Foundry. I’ll be making your drinks tonight”
You nodded and continued to watch him.
“Thanks..”
“What’s your name?” He asked.
“Y/N” You replied.
“That’s a pretty name” He replied.
“What’s yours?” You asked.
“Jungkook”
A loud cough was suddenly heard behind you. Too preoccupied with the bartender, you forgot about the man who ordered you the drink in the first place.
“I think your boyfriend is calling you” Jungkook said.
You shook your head and gave out an embarrassed laugh.
“He’s not my boyfriend. I don’t even know who he is, to be honest” You replied rather too loudly.
He tilted his head slightly and chuckled. “Ah, I think he heard”
You turned and saw your next meal angrily walking away.
Damn.
But you didn’t really care. At the moment, you just wanted to know more about Jungkook.
“How long have you worked here?” You asked.
“Too long” He replied. “But ever so often, someone as beautiful as you comes in and makes me realize that my job isn’t too bad after all”
You laughed and he joined in.“Does that line actually work?” You asked.
He winked at you. “I guess we’ll see, right?”
“Bar tender!” Someone yelled.
Jungkook peered over. “Sorry. Work duties. If you need me, just call me over”
You nodded and then turned back to face the crowded room. It was a rather dark club, but the atmosphere was perfect with the music and crowd.
“What are you doing here?” A deep voice asked you. “You’re quite far from home, aren’t you?”
You turned around and saw another young man next to you now. Unlike the plump man who had got away or the bar tender.. this man was different. Nonetheless, what was with men and them questioning you?
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” You replied.
“Quite the bullshit. I could smell you from a mile away”
You were taken back by his words. Just kill him and go! Your mind told you.
“Leave me alone” You replied, not wanting to cause a scene.
“Bartender!” You called.
You continued to sit at the bar by yourself and waited for Jungkook to come back.
“Ah! Good! You’re back” You told him.
Jungkook grinned but stopped when he saw who was behind you.
“Taehyung… is something wrong?” He asked.
“Taehyung?” You asked back..
Tae looked at you for a moment and then back at Jungkook.
“Actually, there is..” Taehyung took a hand and wrapped it around your shoulder. “My sister from out of town just decided to surprise me.. I’m a bit shocked”
Jungkook looked over at you.
“You didn’t tell me you were related to the boss”
You looked over at Tae to try and figure out what game he was playing. Tae simply smiled and waited for your response.
“Surprise?” You nervously cheered.
“Let’s get her some food, now!” Tae suddenly ordered.
“I’m the bartender, not the cook” Jungkook objected from under his breath.
Tae looked at Jungkook with a silencing glare. Remembering his place, Jungkook quickly fumbled around for something to write on and with.
“What would you like to eat?” He asked as he grabbed a nearby pen.
“I don’t know… Anything, really…”
“Get her the number one. Say it’s on the house.” Taehyung answered.
Jungkook nodded and then turned to look at you. “I’ll be back with your food. Enjoy the show, okay?”
You nodded and soon Jungkook was gone.
You turned and saw that Taehyung was still standing by you.
“Sister??” You asked. You laughed. There was no way! “Who are you?”
“I don’t have time to discuss this with you right now. Come to my office upstairs when it’s over.. We’ll talk later”
You were skeptical. Not only did you not know who he was, now he wanted you alone in a room with him?
“What makes you think I want to go there?” You questioned.
He smirked and leaned in. “You’re a mermaid” He whispered into your ear.
You stopped. “How did you know?” You asked.
He gave you a wink and left.
Was he one too?
Taehyung made his way to the center stage and the room became silent around him. The lights dimmed and soon all eyes were on him as he began to sing a soulful song. You looked around the room and saw that the audience seemed to be in a trance. They swayed to his words and looked blissfully unaware. You looked over at Tae again. He grinned and it seemed as if he knew that you were finally connecting the dots together. He was a mermaid as well.
You watched in awe. You have heard about the power of a siren’s song but never like this. While it was common to set one man on a boat in a trance so he would crash or go overboard, you had never seen a full room turn all at once.
“Your brother is really good” Jungkook said startling you. In his hands was your meal, a plate of perfectly cooked fish next to some greens.
“He is, isn't he?” You replied as he set it down.
“Do you sing too?” Jungkook asked.
You continued to listen to Tae.
“Yeah, but not as good as him”
---
You climbed up the backstairs behind the stage once the performance was over and knocked on the door to Taehyung’s office. The door opened and once again you were led into a strange new place. Much like the club downstairs, the room was adorned in the same manner. In all honesty, the word “office” was an exaggeration as it seemed more like an actual living space.
“Have a seat” Taehyung said.
You did as you were told and waited for an explanation from him.
“According to legends, I’m supposed to be the one seducing you with my voice. How did you learn to sing like that?” You asked.
He laughed as if he had heard that question one too many times.
”Practice” He admitted.
You looked around the room. He definitely had a taste for finer things.
“How long have you been living on land now?” You asked.
“For a while. My parents…. they wanted a better life for me and so they helped me to cross over.”
Tae looked over at you. “I don’t even have to ask you. I know that you’re new”
“What gave it away?” You asked confused. You thought you had done a pretty good job of not getting caught so far.
“Your scent and the way you were dressed” He answered.
You looked down at the mismatched item of clothing and felt embarrassed.
“My options were pretty limited.” You admitted.
“What do you mean?” Tae asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I needed clothes… and so I took it from the first person I saw.”
“What do you mean the first person you saw? Did you kill someone already?” Taehyung asked.
“Of course I did. How do you think I got these ugly clothes?”
Taehyung sighed. “I knew you were trouble the moment you walked in… god, there must be cops everywhere trying to fish you out.”
You waved your hands in protest. “No one saw me, I swear!”
He shook his head now.“You don’t know that… and now you probably brought them straight here”
He looked at you again and you became nervous. As opposed to Jungkook who had a kind look to him, both were handsome in their own right but Taehyung gave off a stern look. For a moment, you thought he was going to kick you out.
“If they come in, stick to the story of being my sister.” Taehyung said surprising you.
You looked at him wide eyed and shocked.
“You’re letting me stay here with you?”
Taehyung looked annoyed but nodded. “Of course I am. You’ll probably get caught and die out there without me. I don’t want that on my conscious.”
You glared at him for a moment, but it was true. You didn’t know much and now you had shelter and possibly a new friend.
He got up from his seat to retrieve some items stored in a cabinet nearby. “There’s a bath in the room over there. I’m assuming you know how to use it? Clean yourself properly. Once you’re dried up and in human form again, put on this uniform and come back down.”
Before you could object, Taehyung had thrown something your way.
“What is this?” You asked.
“Do you sing?” He asked ignoring your question.
“I’m a mermaid” You answered. “You know that I do”
“Great. That is your new uniform then” He replied.
“Uniform?” You asked.
“You’re gonna have to work for me if you want to stay.. plus it can be your alibi for now. When word gets out that someone was killed, the police will be going around town. You’re a new face here and an easy target, Y/N. If anyone asks, tell them you are my sister and that you are from out of town. If they continue to ask about you, say you desperately needed a job and that's why you are here.”
He turned back to you and noted the confusion on your face. From across the room, you stared at the flimsy looking material and contemplated throwing it back at him but stopped as he was right.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“I’ve never worked before” You confessed. “At least not here on land. I’m used to the sea…”
For a moment, it seemed as if Taehyung understood but then continued. “Don’t worry too much about it. I’ll be here. Plus, I’ll have someone show you around. Now hurry up so we can get back downstairs before anyone suspects anything”
You got up from your seat and walked over to him.
“What is it now?” He asked.
“Thank you.” You said. “I mean it.”
“Don’t thank me yet, Y/N.You have yet to survive the human world”

A Match Made In Hell (2)
PART 2
Bucky x reader
Warnings: Death, Swearing, Violence, Smut (eventually), 18+

********
"I thought you were dead," Bucky looked at you.
"Well, I'm only kind of dead," you extended your fangs and your eyes glowed red.
"Oh shit!" Sam jumped back and lifted his gun again.
"Don't worry, if I wanted to kill you you'd be dead." You told him. With a wave of your hand his gun lowered. His eyes widened as he looked back over at you.
"What did they do to you?" He stepped towards you and cupped your face in his hand.
"Why do you care? It's not like you ever came back for me," you pushed him away.
He didn't bother to say another word. He didn't need to. His eyes said it all as they were full of sorrow and regret.
"Uh, yeah, cute reunion and everything, but here's a question. Why are you here?" Tony broke the silence.
You looked to him and his mask was completely gone.
"I'm here for the same reason you're here. I received information that a higher up in HYDRA would be here, someone who was directly responsible for doing this to me." You waved your hands over your body, "I wanted him dead. I want them all dead."
"What else do you know?" Steve questioned.
"That there are more and they need to be found before they rally again and start another war or create more of us," you pointed between you and Bucky.
"And what exactly are you?" He asked.
"They started experimenting on me and using super soldier blood to see if it would enhance me just as well as the serum. I wasn't quite as strong or fast as you two, but the effects were good enough for them to keep me around and send me out on missions."
"Doesn't exactly explain the fangs," Natasha added.
"After the fall of SHIELD, they wanted to try something different. They somehow got their hands on a vampire whose head had been blown off. They shot me full of its blood to see how they needed to change the soldier formula in order to make me stronger and faster. Nobody knew that I had a dormant blood mutation. Instead of my body fighting it off or it killing me, my blood fused with it perfectly." You looked over at Bucky and he had tears in his eyes. He felt guilty. The moment he remembered you, he should have searched for you. Maybe he could have stopped them from doing this to you.
"So, what, you eat people?" Sam jumped in. Everyone turned and glared at him. "I just wanna know. It's a fair question."
"I drink, yes, but not as often the others. In order to keep my abilities strong, I have to drink at least once a month. Don't worry, I only take blood from people who are already dying and HYDRA scum."
"Would you mind coming back with us to our compound and discussing strategy to take the rest of these guys down?" Tony Inquired.
"Tony," Steve gritted.
"What? I like her and she could help."
"Dot," he bit out.
"Who's Dot?" You questioned.
"Ohh right, I forgot all about her. Might be a little awkward for the wife and the girlfriend to meet." Tony said.
You glared at Bucky. He pinched his eyes shut and exhaled loudly at Tony's antics. He knew he hadn't forgotten about anything. He was just being an ass hole. ********
When you all arrived at the compound Bucky stopped you before you got off the jet. He'd texted Dot and told her they needed to talk, so she was there waiting for him.
"Can you please let me go in here and talk to her first?" He asked.
"Sure," you plastered a big fake smile on your face, "how long should I wait for you to tell your mistress about my existence?" You cocked your head to the side.
"Ten minutes," he said and walked off.
The twinge of jealousy you felt was not being hidden very well. Of course you were angry with him for not coming back for you, but you also understood that the life you had was not a life that either of you wanted. Your marriage was a sham... at least it was in the beginning. The two of you were forced into a union by HYDRA for a mission, because simply lying about being husband and wife wouldn't have been good enough.
Over the years, you'd fallen in love with the soldier. You understood that his actions were often not his own when it came to violence, but when it was just the two of you, he was always loving and attentive.
After ten minutes passed, you headed inside. You could hear her screaming about not wanting you anywhere near him.
"I'm not comfortable with this. How could you hide this from me?" She bit out.
"I wasn't trying to hide it. I just thought she died and it was the past and —" When you stepped into the room they stopped talking and she looked you over. She stared into your face and squinted her eyes. Almost as if she recognized you.
"Dot, honey, this is Y/N." He introduced you. You gave her a small wave.
"How long will you be here?" She started.
"As long as it takes," you shrugged. "Don't worry, I don't want to come in between the two of you. I'm here to do a job."
"What job?" She asks.
"You know that I can't tell you, honey." He rubbed her shoulders.
Soon after, the rest of the team started trickling into the living room where you were. Dot stayed glued to Bucky's side the entire night. Hardly taking her eyes off of you most of the time.
The tension had you wanting to be anywhere but there so you asked Steve if there was someplace you could talk. Just as you were getting ready to leave, Tony walked in.
"Hey, Barnes," he called.
"Yes?" Both you and Bucky looked up and answered. You peered in his direction and lowered your gaze.
"Oh that's right, there are two of you now. My bad," he said nonchalantly.
Dot's face was bright red. You could practically see the steam coming from her ears as she held on to Bucky's arm.
"What do you want?" Bucky asked agitated. He knew he'd done it on purpose. He never calls him Barnes. It's always some smart assed nickname like Manchurian Candidate or Full Metal Jacket.
"Oh gosh, you know what, never mind I can't even remember." He waltzed over to where Natasha was sitting. She just looked at him with a half smirk and shook her head.
Steve grabbed your hand and led you down the hall. Bucky's jaw tensed when he touched you.
"So, I'm guessing he doesn't care for her since Solda— I mean, Bucky isn't his favorite person?" You questioned.
"None of us really care for her. Tony's just the only one who doesn't bother to hide it." He led you to an elevator that took you downstairs and through another yard that led to a courtyard.
"So, did they wipe your mind after every mission too?" He walked alongside you.
"No, I was young when they took me. Broke me after a while so it wasn't necessary," you shamefully admitted. "They wiped him, because he would fight. He would remember and he would struggle against the fog. They couldn't have that happening."
"What would he remember?"
"Random things… Once his family, another time football, but mostly you. He'd reach out and scream your name. Say he was sorry."
"Sorry for what?" His voice cracked.
"For dying. Because who would protect you if he wasn't there? How could he keep you from taking all the stupid?" You smiled.
That earned a chuckle from him.
"I had to comply, because he needed me. I was angry when he didn't come back. Angry that he never looked for me, but knowing that he got away and seeing that he'd found you made me happy." You nodded.
There was silence for a few seconds. Steve debated on whether or not to speak what was on his mind. He decided that he should.
"He talks about you. Never mentioned the marriage part, but he has talked about you and how you were the only good thing that came out of all those terrible years."
"Mmm," you hummed. That was bitter sweet information for you.
You and Steve walked around talking for about an hour before heading inside. He showed you the room you'd be staying in for your time there and wished you a good night.
You showered and changed into different clothes. Steve had given you some of his, so you could be a little more comfortable for the night. A small knock sounded at your door. When you opened it, Natasha and Wanda were on the  other side.
"Hi?"
"Hey, so we came down, because we have to know what kind of powers you have." Natasha said.
"And we brought snacks," Wanda held up the food and pushed her way inside. You each took a seat and fell into conversation.
You explained how Bucky had trained you in hand to hand combat, how to use knives and how to shoot. But when your blood mutated, you’d developed psychokinesis and could persuade people as could most vampires.
"We definitely need to get together in the training room before you leave," Wanda said excitedly.
"What about you Agent Romanoff?"
"Oh, no, call me Natasha," she corrected.
"Oh, okay, Natasha do you—."
"Ugh, call me Nat."
You just laughed. "Nat, do you want to spar as well? You ladies are legends. It would he an honor."
"Ooh, legends?" Nat raised an eyebrow.
You all sat and got to know one another. You told them about how you moved around a lot. Staying in one place too long could be dangerous even for you. Wanda informed you that Tony might ask you to join the team. He'd already taken a liking to you and that didn't happen very often these days.
You smiled; a small sad smile that didn't reach your eyes, because you knew that you could never stay in a place where Bucky was with another woman. ********
The following morning you opened your eyes and looked around, having to remember where you were. The plush comforter and white walls were very different than what you were used to.
After coming from the bathroom you heard a voice informing you that Sergeant Barnes was requesting your presence on his floor. You looked around confused.
"Um... Hello?"
"Yes, Mrs. Barnes?" FRIDAY responded.
You looked towards the speaker in the corner of the room.
"Is someone there? Are you watching me?"
"No, Mrs. Barnes, I am FRIDAY, Mr. Stark's artificial intelligence."
"Oh, cool.... Well what floor is Sergeant Barnes on?"
"I will show you to your husband's level once you are on the elevator."
You rolled your eyes. Tony was seriously taking this too far. You could understand his dislike for Dot and wanting to annoy her, but being constantly reminded that you were married to this man in just a few short hours was starting to get on your nerves too. Especially since you knew Bucky wouldn't like it. You'd have to have him correct it once you saw him in a few minutes.
You considered changing your clothes, but decided against it. You were comfortable and it was early, so you just headed up to Bucky's floor.
You knocked on the closed door before opening it. You were expecting just a small room, but it looked like an entire small apartment.
"Holy shit," you looked around. Bucky was on the other side of the wall in the kitchen. You walked in to see him at the stove. No shirt on and gray sweats hanging low on his hips. You eyed his form. Yeah you missed being able to touch, kiss and bite all of that.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," he said never turning around.
You scrunched your face and fake laughed. He scooped eggs out of the skillet onto a plate and set it in front of you.
"Your girlfriend teach you how to cook?" You stabbed into a piece of sausage.
"No, I learned how to cook while I was on the run, but mostly in Wakanda. We've only been dating for four months." He sat across from you with his own food. "Whose clothes are you wearing?"
"Steve gave them to me to sleep in and I didn't ask how long you'd been with her."
"Mmm... And what did you guys talk about last night?"
You stopped eating to look at him. "Don't you worry your pretty little head about it." There was no way you were going to admit you mostly talked about him. Damn near in tears with each word.
Silence settled around you as you ate.
"You remember the basement?" You ask randomly.
"What?"
"The basement. Where they would do all the experiments on the mysterious creatures?"
"Yes, why? Is that where they took you?"
You nodded.
"Usually takes them about two weeks to figure it out with all the new tech. I watched them and learned a lot before I could get away," you spoke softly.
"I'm so sorry, doll. I should've come back. The moment I remembered, I should've come back." He reached out and touched your hand, rubbing his thumb across the back of it gently.
"It's fine. I just want you to remember the good things about me. Not just the fact that I was asset number 2. Sometimes we have to do things in unconventional ways to get to where we want to be."
He lifted an eyebrow. And was on his way to asking what you meant, but you both heard the front door open. You snatched your hand away just as Dot rounded the corner. She stopped in her tracks upon seeing you.
"What is she doing here?" She asked him looking past you.
"Don't worry, she's leaving," you scooted the plate away and stood. "Thanks for breakfast."
You brushed past Dot and out the door. You could hear her talking.
"I don't trust her. I don't understand why she has to be here." Her muffled voice carried through the walls.
"I've explained this to you."
"But did you have to have her in your apartment? What did she say? Why aren't you wearing clothes? Were you going to fuck her?" She fired off questions back to back.
You finally walked away to the elevator. "FRIDAY?"
"Yes, Mrs. Barnes?"
"Please tell my husband that I said thank you for breakfast," you requested.
A few seconds later, you could hear her sharp scream in the distance. You stepped onto the elevator with a smile. That should teach her for being rude to you. ********
Dot was still hanging around the compound. Everywhere Bucky went, she was sure to follow. You wandered around the compound until you found the common room. It was empty, except for one sleeping person on the couch. You decided to take residence at a table far away as to not disturb them.
You took a bottle of water and a sandwich from the large glass refrigerator and took a seat. Scrolling through messages on your phone and thinking of ways to get through this upcoming mission with other people.
You could hear footsteps coming up the hall. You sniffed the air and rolled your eyes. It was Dot. It smelled like she'd put on more of the loud perfume she wore. The smell getting stronger as she drew closer, but the loud heels against the linoleum floor was not slowing down. Good she wasn't coming there.
She was walking by when she suddenly stopped. She came back and walked through the doors coming to sit at the table with you. You never looked up and she didn't say anything. Just annoyingly tapped her nails on the table.
"Can I help you?" You glanced up at her.
"Stay away from him," she commanded.
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me. You stay away from him. I don't know what kind of game you're playing by being here, but I won't put up with it." She pointed a finger in your face.
"Sweetie," you began as your fangs descended and eyes glowed red, "I suggest you move that finger if you want to keep your hand."
She snatched her hand back with a sharp gasp. Fear was evident in her eyes. "Y-y-you... you can't hurt me," she stuttered.
"Oh, but I can and I will and there will be nothing anyone here can do about it." You assured her.
"What the hell is going on?" Bucky's angry voice came from the door. You'd been so busy in kill mode that you hadn't even heard him approach.
"Oh James, it was awful. She threatened me," she ran over and buried her face in his chest turning on the waterworks.
"What is wrong with you?" He glared at you. "Stay away from her. You're only here for a job. Remember that." He tugged her out of the door tucked to his side.
Your face was a blanket of shock as you watched them leave. You sucked your bottom lip into your mouth as you felt the tears pool in your eyes.
"You should have told him what she said," the formerly sleeping person spoke from the couch.
"It's okay, Dr. Banner. It's better this way." You swiped the tears and went back to your phone. Now you could see why the others didn't care for her very much and Bucky was wrapped around her little finger.
"That's what she does you know? Be all dramatic about everything," he sat next to you. "We didn't have a chance to formally meet last night. I'm Bruce," he stuck his hand out.
You introduced yourself and shook. "Will you be assisting us with this mission?"
"Of course. I never miss a chance to kick HYDRA butt," he smiled. You nodded at him and gave a smile of your own.
He asked a few more questions about you and your DNA. Your situation intrigued him most due to his own personal experience. The bomb that went off should have killed him, but instead the gamma radiation fused with his blood and thus created The Hulk.
You liked Bruce. Just as you liked everyone else and you were feeling happier about Bucky having such a loving family now.

He found her standing on the porch of their shared house, her radiant smile brightening everything around her. On sighting his approaching form, she raised an arm and began waving it, as if she was ecstatic to see him again. She was always there, bidding him farewells when he left for missions and greeting him with open arms upon his returns. Always.. And he was glad (fortunate actually) to have her as an important part of his rather dull lifestyle as the number 3 Pro Hero of Japan. She made him happy, filled the emptiness he always used to experience. She made him believe that he was more than just a man born of his father’s stubborn resolve for supremacy. He was always grateful of her. But that day, he couldn’t face her. After the offence he had committed on his latest mission, his hands were sullied by a wrong he could never wash off. And he didn’t want to tarnish her pristine skin with his touch.
“I just saw you on TV and figured you’d be coming back soon so I came outside to wait.” She told him cheerfully, stretching her arms as an invitation for a hug. But he couldn’t even meet her gaze.
Nodding his head in acknowledgement, he walked right past her inside their house, ignoring the confused expression marring her beautiful face.
Shouto Todoroki didn’t deem himself worthy of her.
Tumblr media
Her brows knitted together in confusion due to his sudden aloofness towards her yet she shrugged it off as mere side-effects of the grueling mission he was sent on. Turning around, she followed after him into their house. She shook her head, her petal lips curving up into a fond smile. Like always, he had left his boots carelessly on the floor so she arranged them in their proper place in the shoe rack.
They’ve been in a relationship for two years now. She was the one who couldn’t bottle her feelings anymore and ended up confessing to him during their final year at UA. He was shocked at the revelation because apparently ‘he didn’t consider himself on par with her’. Whatever that means. As soon as they graduated, they joined separate agencies to work under, making it hard for them to see each-other much. And so, this year onwards, she suggested that they start living together, to which he agreed without any hesitation. The only reason they haven’t tied the knot yet is because (again) ‘he wanted her to be sure of whether she wished to spend the rest of her life with him or not’.
Frankly speaking, she doesn’t understand the point of such questions or why he wants her to reflect on her decisions again and again. He made her realize what she was capable of and for that she will always be thankful. He made her happy, made her feel strong and important, not just as a pro hero but as an individual.
Momo Yaoyorozu couldn’t imagine her life without his calm presence in it.
With one last look around the porch, she closed the door and walked towards their bedroom. She blushed at a faint memory of all the unspeakable things they’d done in that very room but quickly pushed it away.
He was sitting on the edge of the bed, face as devoid of emotions as ever. But she was so used to seeing it that she easily caught the hints of self-loathing swimming in his mismatched irises. He was back at it— questioning his existence and doubting his worth.
“Shouto”, She called softly as she entered the room and approached him.
He jerked his face to glance at her before receding back into his glum state of mind and mumbled in a grave tone, “I failed.”
She was stupefied by his choice of words. Failure and Shouto Todoroki did not belong in the same sentence. The word failure had no relation to him whatsoever. For the four years that she had known him, she had always seen him learn from his mistakes and improve until he became a great hero. She was there to witness it all. She saw him become the man she came to love not simply because of his striking features but because of whom he was.
She’d been watching the news just minutes ago and media was singing praises about the success of his mission. So then, why exactly was he sitting so dejectedly?
Kneeling down before him, she cradled his face in her palms and tilted it, making his pair of gray and blue eyes meet her onyx ones. “What happened? The news said it went well and-”
“I failed, Momo.” He repeated, his jaw tightening. “I was supposed to apprehend the man running those fighting pits. Instead I nearly killed a little kid’s mother.”
She moved her fingers further up his grimy face into his equally dirty hair and began massaging his scalp. “Hey, calm down.” She said in a soothing tone, “I know you, Shouto. You can never hurt anyone.”
His lips quivered at the degree of faith she had in him. He shook his head like a child feeling the guilt of stealing cookies from a jar he wasn’t allowed to touch. “No you don’t..” His hands shot out and his long fingers wrapped around her dainty wrists, in hopes of channeling his anger at himself. “There were a lot of spectators so I called the back up team. But before they could even reach the scene, panic broke out amongst the audience because well..all of them have some sort of history in crimes. They got scared as soon as I broke in and began running about.”
Momo listened to his explanation patiently, nodding every once in a while. “The owner, he ordered his strongest fighters to deal with me. And..” He gritted his teeth in frustration, “..and I was so consumed by the thoughts of detaining the pit owner that I..I used my left side and..there was a kid. He was crying so much for his mother. But I didn’t understand. I was so consumed with rage..”
He took a long breath, averting his eyes at his dark haired girlfriend of two years, wondering if he should really tell her the remaining bit. He wanted to. Whenever his mind made him restless, he vented to her because he knew she’d have a solution to his problems. She always had. So he just needed her to listen to him once more. He knew he was being pathetic, behaving like that at the age of 20 but he needed her to listen and understand. He wanted her to be certain of their relationship. He wanted to know if she’d choose to stay even after hearing what an abhorrent deed he had committed.
“I released a large wave of fire at the three pit fighters and this lady out of nowhere jumped in front of one guy. The kid..his cries grew louder and he began running towards the scene..” Shouto gulped, his hold on Momo’s wrists tightened before going completely lax and he let go of them. “Everything clicked in that moment and I realised the lady and the man she was trying to protect were parents of that crying child. I was the bad guy there. I was fighting against his father and attacked his parents with my flames. Thanks to the backup team and police officers for showing up. The parents of that kid haven’t sustained any life-threatening injuries and will be out of the local hospital soon.” His fingers crawled up his cheeks and he removed her palms, replacing them with his own to bury his face in shame. “I almost killed them. If police wouldn’t have arrived when they did-”
The dual haired Todoroki's eyes widened at being silenced instantly by a finger on his dry lips. Momo shushed him. Casualties are unavoidable on missions like these and they hurt a lot. But to detest himself over an obvious mistake is so..stupid and yet so like him.
“You didn’t mean it, Shouto.” She said assertively , “There are so many things we can infer from this whole happening. First of all, if those two had decided to be criminals, then they should’ve considered the consequences of bringing a child in their life. But since they did have a kid, those parents should have atleast been rational enough to not bring the kid to a dangerous place like a fighting pit..”
She knew she was rambling but guys like Shouto are so hard upon themselves that they need proper clarifications. They need people like Midoriya or herself to tell them that its not their fault, that there’s no harm in letting things go instead of shouldering unnecessary blames. “Yes, you used your fire on them but it was a mere defensive measure you took amidst a battle. And they’re both still alive and recovering so be glad. If anything, this mission will be an experience not just for you but them as well. Maybe this will be the moment of their awakening. Maybe they’ll finally understand the repercussions a child suffers due to their parents' actions. Maybe they’ll actually take this as a sign and move forward to become good civilians and give their child the life he deserves..”
Shouto peeked through his fingers up at her, his eyes widened in bewilderment. “How do you do this? How do you redefine my worst aspects as if they weren’t bad to begin with? How do you make me look like this saint that I’m not?”
“You’re not a saint.” She answered, pulling his hands away from his face and entwining their fingers. “But you’re no sinner either. You’re just human.”
She smiled lovingly at him, “Humans make rash decisions. You were concentrating on the objective of your mission and wanted to eradicate the hindrances quickly. That’s all. But now you’ve learnt that being reckless can be harmful at times. So stop being so resentful towards yourself and move on.”
Shouto narrowed his eyes in confusion and gazed intensely at her, searching for that thing in her eyes that makes her so kind and benevolent. He felt the heaviness being lifted off his soul, the ache alleviated from his heart. He felt lighter— better! And it only took her a few sensible words to ease his mind of the chaos. Somehow he always lost himself to the smallest of his errs but she was right there, offering her hands to help him up. And he knew she’ll be there for him in the future too but he needed assurance. He just wanted to hear her say it again.
“Momo,” he called in a feeble tone, staring at her innocently, “Are you sure you want to-”
“Yes Shouto” she cut him off immediately, knowing very well what he was asking her for the umpteenth time since they started dating, “I want to be with you forever. I will never leave you. I will always be here with you.”
His heart brimmed with joy at her honest confession and he spoke instinctively, “I love you.”
She grinned at him, pulling him up into a standing position by tugging at their interlinked fingers, “I love you too, you adorable dummy. Now go get washed up. In the meantime, I’ll cook some soba.”
She let go of his hands but was barely able to leave the room as he snaked his arms around her hips, turning her around and capturing her bottom lip between his. He began kissing and nipping, his demeanor suddenly changing entirely with wanton need for her. Afterall, one of the major reasons for his hastiness during the mission was so he could get back to her as soon as possible and ravish her.
She slapped his arms playfully, willing him to get going already but he only released her lips to worship her alluring neck instead, whispering breathlessly, “I need help cleaning up.”
She giggled at his statement and let him carry her to the shower. He really needed to keep his personal desires in check during work so he won’t do something as precarious as he did on this mission. But for now, he wanted to pay her back just as much love as she gave him everyday. And he was way better at expressing himself with his actions.

Eager and Enamored
Thank you for the support once again, @ramannnn! This was so adorable to write, I LOVE GATEKEEPER-KUN... I hope you like it!
Summary: The little joys that Byleth took out of her days usually came once she went to greet the eager gatekeeper of the monastery. She felt at peace around his easy smile and eagerness to be of use, so she paid him frequent visits. During the Etheral Moon, he mentions wanting to invite someone to the Goddess Tower...

______________________________
Although week days were usually packed with curricular activity in Garreg Mach Monastery, the classes themselves only started late in the morning -- it gave time for the students to either train by themselves before engaging with their classmates later or to leisurely enjoy a bit of free time preceding the hard work of lectures.
To the Professors, that meant either more time to revise their class plan, train and study (usually what Hanneman and Byleth did) or sleep in a bit more (Manuela would never admit it, though, and swear she always focused on her preparations).
Especially in the younger Professor's case, Byleth usually woke up at dawn on her own to work up a sweat with her father and the Knights of Seiros, never forgetting that she, too, was treading the path of learning. After that, she would take the long way back to her quarters, through the entrance hall instead of just going straight towards the dormitory, since she always made sure to greet a particular person to feel like she had properly started her day.
She saw him from behind, his back straight in a diligent pose, albeit slightly fidgety. Once she stepped out of the hall, he greeted her with a huge grin under the helmet that hid part of his face.
"Greetings, Professor! You're early today as well, so there's nothing to report at the moment!" The gatekeeper said enthusiastically, stealing a short smile out of the Professor.
"Yeah. Thanks for always making sure everything's going around smoothly." She nodded at his greeting. "Good morning, Keep."
Since the gatekeeper had been one of the first people to be so openly friendly with Byleth, she felt drawn to him from the start -- and once they began exchanging daily greetings, Keep had mentioned that since she reciprocated his gesture of calling her by his station, 'Professor', she could simply shorten 'Gatekeeper' to 'Keep' instead. 'Ga-te-ke-e-per is too long of a word, don't you think, Professor?' He had said with his usual grin, meaning that Byleth would basically do anything he asked if he did so with that adorable smile.
Ever since then, she had been calling him 'Keep', though he bashfully refused to call her by her given name or by 'Teach' like one of the students did. All she could do was hint that it was okay for him to do so every once in a while.
"Of course! It's the least I can do to help!" He puffed his chest up proudly, but just as quick deflated, looking down with a sad puppy face. Byleth felt an uncontrollable urge to pat his head, but managed to keep her usual poker face. "Well, I, myself, feel fine, but I can't help but worry for you, Professor -- all this bad stuff that keeps happening always end up falling on your lap! Are you alright?" He looked at her with a painful expression, his eyes gleaming with worry. "Two students were kidnapped, your class was tasked with helping a village that ended in a bloodbath... and now you'll have to delve into that abandoned chapel..." the more he spoke, the lower his gaze went, until it fixed itself on the ground right in front of Byleth's feet. His shoulders sagged minimally as he sighed. "And every day you work so hard like this -- are you getting enough rest? Isn't there anything I could do to help?"
"Oh, for the love of all that's sacred and holy, please pat this man's head already!" Sothis grumbled from her throne, yawning loudly. "Your endless yapping of wanting to pet him woke me up much earlier than usual!"
Spurred by her mindmate's ramblings, Byleth reached out to Keep, but managed to simply place her hand on his shoulder. "Thanks, seeing you so worried about me is already enough. Besides, I'm fine with all that; I've been a mercenary my whole life, remember?" She once again smiled, always so comfortable of doing so in his presence.
Keep nodded in understanding. “Alright, Professor. If you’re okay, that’s all I need to know.” He shifted his gaze to someplace behind Byleth, then back at her. “That reminds me, Professor…”
"Hm? What's up?"
Under Byleth's attentive gaze, the gatekeeper lost his words. He opened and closed his mouth, but no words left it the first few times he tried. "Have- have you heard students talking about the legend of the Goddess Tower?" He gulped, clenching his hands so hard inside his gloves he felt them squeak pitifully.
"Hmm..." Byleth placed her index over her chin in thought, looking up as she searched her memories. Whenever she did that, she would unconsciously push her lips forward in an adorable pout, so it stood to reason that Keep was physically unable to stop himself from staring. "Now that I think of it, I may have heard someone mention it once or twice, yes." She looked back at him, making the man flinch and shoot his gaze up to the sky.
"I- I see! As expected, you already heard of it... D-do you know what it entails specifically?"
"I don't think I do, no..." Byleth shook her head slightly.
Should I be eating something? This feels like i should be eating something. Popcorn... That would be nice right now; it feels like I am watching an extremely cringe-worthy play... Ohh, I wonder what he will say next! Sothis kicked her feet in amusement, leaning her chin on both of her hands. Oohh, look how his expression is lighting up! He truly is a puppy.
She made sure not to voice her thoughts, though she knew that they would be transmitted to Byleth to some extent if she kept hanging on them -- just like how Byleth had been screaming inside her mind earlier at how much she wanted to pat Keep's head to the point of waking Sothis up.
"On the last night of the Ethereal Moon, on the same night as the ball... If a man and a woman go to the Goddess Tower and make a wish, it's sure to come true!" He blabbed it all in one breath, as though talking about it was a laborious task in and of itself.
"Oh, how adorable." Byleth bobbed her head to the sides.
Keep's smile flickered in his lips, "i-isn't it? I have a wish I want to see come true, but-" he looked up at her, then quickly averted his eyes once they met hers, "I wish I could invite-" he choked on his words, his thumping heart preventing him from continuing.
The longer the silence stretched, the harder it was to bear Byleth's piercing, curious gaze. Eventually, she tilted her head to the side in confusion.
"Is there someone you want to invite to the Goddess Tower?" She asked in good nature.
That made Keep gasp and lock his eyes on her, his entire face covered in a bright shade of red to the point of reflecting on his polished helmet. "I- um..."
Byleth smiled through her nose, crossing her arms in a relaxed manner. "I can help you look for them, if you want. Although I have classes, I still have considerable more freedom to move around the monastery during the day than you do."
Stunned by her oblivious reaction, Keep blinked slowly, his brain taking its time to reboot. "Um, I... I have this woman I like." He squeaked out, forcing Byleth to take a step forward and turn her ear to him so she could listen properly. "I fell for her from afar, but since I know next to nothing about her, I'm having a hard time deciding when... I could ask her out."
"I see..." Byleth returned to her previous spot, placing one hand on her chin in thought. "What does she look like?"
Keep choked and coughed, bending his body forward. Startled, Byleth meant to pat his back to help him through it, but it would do next to nothing over his metal armor, so she abstained from touching him.
"If you could describe her for me, I could ask my students to help with the search-"
"OH, PLEASE NO!" He lifted his head up to her in record speed, his face a mix of embarrassment and mortification. "Oh, goddess, me and my big mouth! P-please don't mention this to anyone or I might just die of embarrassment."
Surprised, Byleth dutifully nodded in accordance. "Alright, you have my word. Could you describe her for me, then? I can just approach her and tell her to go to the Goddess Tower on the day of the ball so you two can meet there." She puffed her chest eagerly, wanting to help the first friend she had made once she moved to the monastery. However, strangely enough, ever since a while ago, she could hear the sound of muffled laughter echoing through her head. But since Sothis hadn't been talking, Byleth couldn't figure out the reason for it, though it still bothered her a bit.
"She-" Keep loudly gulped, then took a deep breath, once again avoiding Byleth's gaze. "She has dark blue hair and blue eyes," he said in one breath, covering his face with his forearm in a deep mortification.
Byleth nodded, fired up to be able to help. "Blue hair and eyes, alright. I'll look for her."
Barely were the words out of the Professor's mouth, Sothis couldn't hold it in any longer.
"BWAHAHAHAHA!! This is so good, I cannot believe what I am seeing! How can someone be SO DENSE?! It makes me embarrassed to even share a mindscape with such a doofus, but no matter -- this is too interesting to pass up! Oh, am I going to laugh at this for centuries to come!"
Byleth tilted her head to the side, frowning slightly as she looked up as though she could see Sothis floating about, rolling with laughter. Keep hid his face with both hands, embarrassed to the point of wanting someone to push him down the stairs, while also having a mix of emotions -- relief that she hadn't realized who the woman was and a twinge of pain regarding her readiness to look for a sweetheart that didn't exist, or at least not in the way she imagined it.
After that morning, Byleth walked around the monastery with narrowed, focused eyes: she checked out every single female she passed by -- if their hair was covered, then she approached to look them in the eyes, and if they matched the description, she would instigate a small talk to either get their name or occupation. Then, on the days she managed to find someone, she would invite Keep out for drinks and report her findings to him, under Sothis' loud laughter and Keep's deeply embarrassed mien.
One night in particular -- only two days remaining for the ball to arrive -- Byleth was reporting her failure of the day. She felt as though she had approached all blue-haired, blue-eyed women in the entire monastery and was about to set out to the Garreg Mach village if she needed to if it meant to help Keep be happy.
"P-please, you don't need to keep doing this, Professor! You've already done so much!" He sniffled under rosy cheeks, weak to alcohol as always. He held his second mug and was already feeling tipsy while Byleth held her own even after a dozen. "You, you could-" he pouted slightly before downing half of the mug in one gulp, looking for the courage he needed. "If you don't find her, you could go instead, right?" He smiled foolishly, the alcohol clearly getting into his head.
"Why, of course!" Sothis clapped ironically, at least inwardly saluting the young man's snippet of courage. "You do match the description, after all, do you not?"
Byleth blinked, frowning slightly as she looked up. But I'm not... she stopped herself from finishing the sentence, feeling something pulling at her heart.
"Oh, now I have done it! I told myself I would not help, but this was already getting out of hand." Sothis grumbled to herself before turning to Byleth, giving her a mental slap on the back of her head. "Are you sure you are not?" Sothis lifted one eyebrow questioningly, a wide smirk plastered across her face.
The Professor took one hand to her silent chest, wondering if her heart should be thumping right about then. Heat rose to her face, and the more she thought about it, the redder she turned.
"Oh, this time yooou got drunk faster than I deed!" Keep dragged his inebriated voice, his wide smile washing Byleth's chest with warmth.
If I am the one, then... She threw the thought to Sothis, but her mindmate kept her mouth shut as she chuckled evilly from the depths of Byleth's mind.
"I'll go." The Professor said curtly, fanning herself right after. Was she actually getting drunk this early into the night or was it due to the power of Keep's smile?
"Weh?" The gatekeeper blinked slowly, his mind foggy.
"I'll go to the Goddess Tower with you on the night of the ball."
"!!" Keep widened his eyes, sobering up in an instant. "Y-you will?! REALLY? Waaaahoo!"
Surprised by how he threw his hands up in the air in elation, Byleth covered her mouth with both hands to hide her stifled laughter, the tingling sensation spreading from her chest to her entire body.
Although they had agreed on a time to meet, the night had been much too hectic for the Professor; with what dancing with students and doing patrols to ensure that no one was being foolish enough to dishonor themselves in the corridors.
Byleth ran up the stairs to the Goddess Tower in a hurry, wondering if Keep would still be waiting for her despite her gross delay.
"Honestly, why are you so popular with those kids?! And learn how to say no! That guy's been trying to call you for this date for WEEKS!" Sothis mentally kicked Byleth's shin, though what made her trip in reality was one of Sothis' words.
"Date?! This isn't- it's not a date-"
"Oh, no? Nooo?"
"..." Byleth pursed her lips, hiding back a smile as she accelerated her steps up the stairs.
She felt a presence hiding itself behind a column once she arrived, carefully turning her steps towards it. "Keep?"
"Oh, Professor, it's you!" He jumped out of his spot. "I've been hiding here since I didn't know who would come, haha!" He smiled brightly, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
"I'm sorry I'm so late, Keep. Everything was so hectic down there." She bowed in apology, though Keep immediately shook both hands as if asking her to straighten herself up.
"P-please don't apologize! I knew that tonight would be busy for you, so I didn't mind waiting at all!" He gave her a thumbs-up, though his mind kept replaying the dozen confessions he had witnessed, strangely filling his heart with confidence. "So, without further ado..." he took a step towards her, gesturing with his head to the balcony a ways beside them.
Tilting her head to the side in confusion, Byleth automatically wrapped her hand around Keep's arm, as she had done so all night with the students that had asked her for a dance. Keep's steps turned stiff and his palms sweated buckets, but he didn't peep a word about it.
Once they reached the balcony, they could see the entire monastery from so high up the lights of the ball flickered as though they were fallen stars. Keep gulped once more, sneaking his opposite hand on Byleth's, prompting her to look up at him.
"I... Before I say anything, I want to apologize, Professor. I've made you run a fool's errand for an entire month and was too ashamed to correct your misunderstanding."
Byleth smiled, finding his rosy cheeks cute as always. "Was it a misunderstanding, though? I did bring a blue-haired, blue-eyed woman to meet you here."
"I-uh, well, you sure did, but- haha..." He sputtered awkwardly, slightly panicking.
Smiling at his adorableness as her chest was awash with warmth, Byleth fumbled with his fingers. "Won't you tell me what that promise you wanted to keep is about? You don't need to apologize for me being oblivious," she giggled.
Hearing her laughter made Keep's chest flutter with emotion. "I wanted us to promise that we'll always keep on getting along!"
Byleth pouted in thought, wringing Keep's heart. "Hmm, that makes it sound like you want us to remain the same as we've always been, doesn't it? If you had told me that at the start of the month, I would've probably accept without thinking twice, but now..." she looked up at him from her short height, her eyes glinting with starlight. "You don't mean that, do you?"
"I... don't." He confessed, gulping. "I- gosh, I've saw this happen so many times tonight I thought I would nail it when it happened to me, but now look at this mess! I can't even come up with the right words and instead ramble on about how nervous I am- wwhoooa!" He ran off his mouth until Byleth giggled and wrapped her arms around him in a tender hug.
"Maybe we can start from this?" She squeezed the hug, digging her nails on his back -- freed from his armor for once. "I don't think anyone else will be coming up here tonight, so we have all the time in the world."
Keep hesitated before reciprocating the hug, his heart thumping loudly by Byleth's ear, telling her that that was how her own would've been beating at such a time. He slowly brought her even closer to him, digging his face into her shoulder.
"I want to be with you, Professor. More and more each day..."
"Mhm," Byleth nodded, breathing by his neck. "So do I."
Keep pulled away immediately, his face the definition of surprise. "R-really? Really, really?!" He grinned, then hugged her once more. She could only nod under his overwhelming joy, unaware that she, too, laughed alongside him.
"Now you will have to call me Byleth." She poked his chest once they stopped laughing, stealing an immediate bashful reaction out of him.
"T-then," he softly bonked their foreheads together, his breathing by her lips. "You can call me by my name too. It's..." he whispered before tightening his arms around her, bringing her warmth closer to his.
Byleth widened her eyes with his revelation, smiling as she covered the last millimeter towards his lips.
