Cassian was going insane.

He only knew your name and where you lived and it wasn’t enough. He wanted to know everything about you. What made you smile, cry, laugh, pissed off. What kind of food you like, your favorite color - He wanted to know you inside and out.

Your little kiss had left him with a thundering heart and a hard cock. It was a wonder that he didn’t break down your door and storm in just to be in your presence for a few seconds.

He almost felt embarrassed as he stood behind a building, watching you enter the coffee shop across Feyre’s art studio. Cassian wasn’t stalking you or anything, he genuinely happened to spot you strolling through the streets while he was running errands. Panic took over and his first insight was to hide.

The streets of Velaris echoed with the enchanting click of your 5-inch, black platform heels, announcing your arrival. You had such a light around you, smiling at strangers and kids. Your outfit, showcasing a black, sexy yet sophisticated skirt paired with a white top, black sheer tights, and a maroon bag thrown over your shoulder, exuded a captivating sense of style. The only reminiscent element of your previous style Cassian saw that night, was the attention-grabbing almost stripper heels.

Your unconventional fashion choice, though beautiful, set you apart from the usual attire of Night Court women, revealing that you were not a native of this place. What brought you to Velaris? Cassian pondered if your stylish yet professional outfit hinted at a specific job or occupation.

Decided that he wanted some answers, he made his way to the coffee shop. His ears picked up on your sweet voice as it was heard throughout the shop.

“Hi, how are you? Can i please have a caramel latte with extra caramel and whipped cream on top? Okay, thank you!!” You had your hands behind your arms as you hummed a little song. The ring of the door bell caught your attention as you whipped your head to the door, your freshly styled hair swaying. Your heart started beating faster as you saw who walked through the door. Letting out a shriek, you threw yourself in Cassians arms as you felt his chest rumble with a chuckle. “ Hi Cassie!! Whatcha doin here?” His hands tightened around your waist as he smelled your intoxicating perfume when you pressed your soft body against his hard one.

“ Hi there, darling. I was just walking around town and decided to stop for some coffee. What are you doing?” He flipped the question, praying that you wouldn’t sense his lie. Curiously, Cassian also wondered about your destination as you appeared business-ready and on the move. The barista called your name and you skipped over to get your sweet drink. It was honestly a wonder your teeth hadn’t rotted away, you loved eating sweet things. “ I’m just getting a little something to drink. Um, actually, can you hold my drink, I just need to get my money out.” Your painted lips had a cute pout as your brows furrowed in concentration, pulling out your money. “Nonsense, I’ll pay for your drink, since I owe you one, remember.” You looked up at him with big eyes. “ Thanks Cassie, you’re such a nice guy!” He merely laughed, “Paying for a lady’s drink is a standard courtesy, sweetheart.” You smiled and sipped on your drink, blushing furiously.

Oh, he looked so good today. Perhaps because it was night, you didn’t see his face clearly, because he was looking a million times hotter than he did thst night. So ruggedly handsome and manly, ugh you were totally turning into mush…

After paying for your drinks and ordering his own, he opened the door for you and offered you his elbow but you opted to grip his bicep instead. Your stomach flipped as you felt the hard muscle ripple with each step. Wow, he must work out like everyday to look like this. “ Wanna taste my drink, Cassie?” you offered as you pushed the hot drink in his face.

He didn’t have it in him to tell you that he absolutely didn’t drink sweet drinks, in fact he hated them. It was too much sugar and he always stuck to his strict routine and food habits, and you had ordered not only a caramel latte, it was also one with extra caramel and whipped cream on top. Basically death in a cup, a stark contrast from his black coffee.

But Cassian took one look at you and folded. Your eyes had hope in them and he’d rather have his wings shredded than kill that shine. “ Sure, I’ll have some, pretty. “

It was an effort not to make a face as the sickly sweet drink hit his tongue but you seemed so happy and he’d drink the whole thing with no complaints if you’d ask him. Your giggles brought him back from his thoughts as he looked at you curiously.

“Whatcha laughing at? Something on my face?”

You flashed him an adorable smile and said,

” You got some of my lipgloss on your lips, just give me ooooone second. There we go! You looked so silly!” He froze when you took your thumb and wiped away the gloss on his soft lips. His legs felt like jelly when you just grabbed his bicep and dragged him along, telling him about your plans for the day.

Man, you were going to be the death of him.

“You have everything? Or is there something else you need, sweetheart?” Gods, you wanted to plant a fat kiss right ln his lips. Would that be wrong? No, of course not!! Hmm… Maybe at the end of the shopping spree? “ Mhm, I have everything, Cassie,” you coo’d gently, watching as his arms bulged from carrying so many bags.

He had spent the entire day with you, bouncing from store to store. He absolutely didn’t let you pay, insisting that you’d never pay for a single thing in his presence. Carrying your bags was out of the question aswell, he told you to just look pretty and grab his arm, which you didn’t say no to. Finally he escorted you home again, and this time he truly payed attention to where you lived. You lived in a massive townhouse in the nicest neighborhood of Velaris, he was curious on how you managed to snag something like this. These neighborhoods had been incredibly difficult to find houses in, let alone such a fine house such as your own. It made him wonder what you worked with or if you had inherited it somehow.

There was a mysterious air surrounding you that he was just dying to find out about. In his eyes, you were something of a puzzle that needed solving. He recognized the hypocrisy of his statement as he also hadn’t told you much about himself, but he could feel it in his bones that there was more to you.

No, he couldn’t let this be, Cassian wanted to get to know his mate, so he asked you out.

“ Go on a date with me, Y/n. Does tomorrow work for you?” You tilted your head and meekly told him something that made him smile.

”Yay, that sounds so much fun, I’ll be wearing something pink. Hmm, or maybe green… No, no definitely pink! What heels should I wear though?… “ Cassian felt his heart beating faster as his cheeks heated. You stood infront of your stairs as you pondered over what hairstyle you were going to pick.

He stepped closer, towering over you as you felt his heat radiating from his chest. “I’ll pick you up at 8, be ready by then sweetheart.” Cassian was hit by deja vu as you once again stood on your tippy toes and gave his cheek a kiss, leaving a lipstain print on his cheek. “ Can’t wait, Cassie!! See you tomorrow.”

He gave your forehead a kiss, right by your hairline as he got a wiff of your shampoo. You smelt heavenly and he didn’t want to let you go. But it was only until tomorrow evening and if he didn’t have the power to wait until then, then he had some serious issues. “ It’s a date then, pretty girl.” He watched as you smiled at him before skipping inside and locking your door.

Cassian felt your excitement through the bond, and felt happier than he had in a long time. He simply couldn’t wait for tomorrow.

Traits Of People With Psychic Abilities 🔮

The hardest thing about having psychic gifts is that no one teaches you about them or makes you aware that you have them. For most people, it is not until a medium, energy/chart/card reader or even your Guides tell you that you have psychic gifts that you realize you do. Otherwise, these things are just overwhelming, intense or confusing parts of your reality that are normal to you and you probably think everyone else experiences it too until you realize otherwise.

So, I am going to discuss the four primary "clairs" - claircognizance, clairaudience, clairsentience and clairvoyance - and the indicators you might have them. Full disclosure: I have all four. So, these are things that I experience, too, and that I had to realize were psychic abilities.

If you exhibit most or even all of the listed traits of the ability, you probably have it and should look into honing/mastering it

CLAIRCOGNIZANCE (Psychic Knowing)

🔮 Whenever you're right, other people just know it and it hits them hard. If you make a valid point in an argument, the other person will either totally shut up or become wildly defensive or irrational trying to prove their point

🔮 Claircognizant people also regularly have others reject their advice or insights only to later on admit they were right all along

🔮 You get ideas and solutions that seem to come out of nowhere (real "light bulb" moments) that strongly energize or invigorate you. These are also known as "downloads"

🔮 You're a very accurate judge of character and have frequently pinpointed toxic, untrustworthy or insincere people before they were exposed (you can just SENSE fakeness from a mile off and really, really dislike it)

🔮 Extremely independent minded. You have an intense dislike of people telling you how to think and insist on trusting your own judgment

🔮 Claircognizant people give exceptionally good advice. It's always insightfully, exactly tailored to the other person and what they need to hear, to a degree that often amazes others. However, it feels almost impossible for them to find someone who can give them the same kind of guidance

🔮 You might constantly feel abandoned or neglected by God or your Spirit Guides. But, this is because they divinely trust you to find the answers and direction you need within, which you typically do. You are your own guide, in many ways

🔮Remarkably intelligent. Can process information very quickly and on multiple levels (literally, metaphorically, logically, emotionally). You can make connections that other people do not

🔮You are extremely receptive to signs from the Universe or your Guides, especially if they're repetitive. You easily "get the message", whether you like it or not

CLAIRAUDIENCE (Psychic Hearing)

🔮 Clairaudient people often have insanely sharp hearing in a literal sense. It is one of their strongest senses, possibly the strongest. They can clearly hear conversations from very far away and are highly sensitive to loud or sudden noises

🔮 You "talk to yourself" a lot but in a productive way. It's like an actual conversation where you emerge with a new viewpoint than before. You also might not realize that, at times, you are actually talking to your Guides and are just hearing them in your voice

🔮Deep, deep love of music. It may be extremely easy for you to enter a trace-like or meditative state while listening to music

🔮 You could also frequently receive major signs and synchronicities through songs

🔮 Similar to those with claircognizance, clairaudient people seem to give the best advice and always know just what to say. This is largely because their words hold a LOT of power. A simple statement from them, whether positive or negative, can affect someone very deeply

🔮 You have always found it very easy to talk to God or other spiritual beings/presences. You might even hear their voice but this feels natural and not strange at all

🔮It sometimes feels like people don't hear what you just said, even though they obviously did. Certain things you say get ignored or repeated by someone else as if they came up with it. Your words are so powerful that they can make others shut down or latch on to them

🔮 You have always had an absolutely wild imagination, which may have been very overwhelming as a kid. Being a huge daydreamer (to the point where it could be maladaptive) as well as a highly creative person is often an indicator of clairvoyance

🔮 You've seen spirits before. You might have had a memorable instance of seeing a deceased loved one, even if you never met them in this life

🔮 Clairvoyants usually have very striking/piercing eyes. Like clairaudience, it's an ability that can also show up in a literal way. You may constantly hear that your gaze makes people nervous because it's like you can "see right through them"

🔮 You could have the ability to see auras but this often takes some developing. Same with seeing spirits.

In general, clairvoyance is the most unusual and unsettling psychic gift, imo. Seeing things like that can be scary! So, clairvoyants often learn to suppress a great deal of their gift early in life to feel safe (to the point where they may feel like they don't even have it). For this reason, for many people, it manifests most obviously through dreams until they work at it

🔮 Highly visual. You can very clearly picture situations and events in your mind, like a mini-movie playing in your head, and get lost in it. And no, everyone can't do that

🔮 You might have had very intense nightmares as a kid as well as a major fear of the dark. That could still carry on into adulthood (no judgment!) If you've ever dreamed of some weird, terrifying, otherworldly being you couldn't explain, you were probably being visited by them in your sleep

🔮 Clairvoyants tend to have an incredibly deep love of either movies and television or visual art

🔮 A very natural or totally self-taught aptitude for astrology or Tarot (especially the latter). An exceptional ability to just look at a birth chart or the cards and gain an abundance of information about a person or situation

🔮 You see various faces and images whenever you're meditating. Again, this could be communication from the other side. You actually might struggle to meditate at times because too many distracting "pictures" pop up in your mind

CLAIRSENTIENCE (Psychic Feeling)

🔮 Emotionally intense and highly sensitive. It's not enough to just be an empath. Clairsentient people have VERY powerful emotions of their own, to the point where it can be scary, and that only makes it easier to very deeply feel others' emotions

🔮Also, clairsentient people are very easily projected on. You are an emotional mirror. People can either take their negative states and insecurities out on you or they can feel wonderfully healed and hopeful and joyous just from your presence

🔮 From a young age, you have always been very emotionally intelligent and wise beyond your years. One key reason why is that you actually allow yourself to FEEL whatever you're feeling. You don't bury or run from your emotions

charles renewed! yay! but was it an ordinary renewal announcement? hell no! so let's unpack that!

first interesting thing about the announcement was the leaking of it in the morning by spanish press. "Carlos Miquel leaked the news about the announcement earlier today; we can see what type of articles he wrote before, as we know he has links with the sainz family" which was very odd by itself because even the closest journalists of ferrari didn't know. it's all part of fred's 2024 strategy of tightening the access to information from maranello.

so the leak obviously came from the carlos gang who knew about it internally. why would they leak it? questionable. people discuss it's to gain public sympathy for carlos who is still struggling to lock a contract (and holds his singapore win as the great reason why he shouldn't be dropped).

then we got new information today about carlos talking with audi:

this is him applying the charles 2023 strategy when he used the red bull move allegations to put pressure on ferrari between qatar-las vegas (also known as the lestappengate)

now moving on, what was odd about the charles contract? not specifying its length. we got multiple quotes: CHARLES: "Today we are announcing that i'm signing for more years" FERRARI: "Charles Leclerc who therefore will continue to drive for the Italian team in the Formula 1 World Championship beyond the 2024 season."" CHARLES: "I’m very pleased to know that I will be wearing the Scuderia Ferrari race suit for several more seasons to come." the way the length is not specified is simply odd. it's not usual for a driver/team to not specify the timeline. only lance has that, but for different reasons as you may know. pr statements like these are SO perfectly curated, they go through multiple people, so this is a very deliberate choice. how it will unpack? we'll have to see.

charles took creative control of the announcement. while ferrari posted the classic graphic - a standard for renewals in f1 for other teams, charles went above and beyond and with his creative PR team put together a personal video that he even composed a song for. INSANITY. what does it say? compared to other announcements, he made it his own. and ferrari let him. why? because now he can, and they let him do it because he most likely negotiated all that and they just have to support him and not be the main source of his public pr -- he now has his own PR moves that he prioritizes over the ferrari ones.

f1 is going crazy! they posted a supercut of charles moments which is not a standard move at all, usually they just post the renewal graphic. they also teased the announcement with a few charles focused clips in the past week leading up to today.

why? well, it comes down to Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of F1 who has a lot of influence on the sport. he was vocal about a missing rivalry in the sport, and how the red bull dominance decreased interest in the sport as of recent. charles is exactly what they need, they want people to promise an intense red bull/ferrari rivalry so pushing charles on social platforms helps form the narrative.

Hello! What do you think about a scenario where Aphelios and reader meet in OSU or another game?

Like reader creates maps and uses songs that aphelios actually likes and so he ends up being the player that she always sees on her stat map charts with almost always being top 1. And one of them gets curious so they reach out on the app/netsite and they get to know each other?? Like kinda how they met and how their relationship would evolve over time. I'm not good with words but yeah!

❥ prompt: You were a revered OSU! map creator. He was a map farming legend. Especially your maps. He was always at the top of the stat charts. Praised or scrutinized, he was the daily hot topic in the /osu subforums. His username was the only thing you knew about him : m00ncake. You had no idea he would end up being Aphelios from the band Heartsteel. That's until he showed up at your job by accident, and you connecting the dots. Oh, did you forget to mention you worked at a maid café? ❥ content/warnings: fluffy fluff, mild hurt/comfort, minor angst (?) ❥ characters/pairings: Heartsteel!aphelios / f!reader

This was it. Your magnum opus! Once your song map hit the platform, thousands of players immediately clicked to dominate it. It wasn't going to be easy for them. You'd taken special care of making it more challenging than your previous maps....especially for one certain player.

m00ncake had a history of over-taking any map within the first try. After every song, there he was: placed at number one. With astronomical stats that would take days of practice for any top streamer to compete with. It's what made the whole scene that much more competitive.

But every gamer had their weakness. And you made this map specifically to exploit m00ncake. You had analyzed his replays. Over and over again. In the darkness of your room, till the desktop screen stung your eyes dry.

He was exceptionally good with rhythm, timing, and anything technical. If you could throw him off, even a little, you'd consider that a flawless victory. This time around you would delay the kick sliders, just by a fraction, before the uptick. The rhythm theoretically the same, but the minuscule margin of delay would throw any muscle memory built up from your previous maps alone.

You waited with baited breath. m00ncake played and finished your map. The stats were posted. Yet again, he proved to be the legend he was considered to be. Despite your best efforts. With the numbers alone, there was no way another player could possibly over-take him.

A few moments later, you received a direct message:

m00ncake: nice song. also fun map. can i ask a question?

You heart thumped inside your chest. Gulping, you allowed your fingers to type back:

mcreader: oh, thanks! and sure, go ahead. m00ncake: did you purposefully slow down the kick slider at certain parts? if you did, it was actually pretty challenging for me. i'm usually on auto-pilot so that kind of threw me off. haha

After that message, your friendship blossomed. Frequently messaging each other on the platform, to then adding each other on Discord. Whenever you posted a new map, m00ncake would call you, and have you listen to his insane key-board clicking sounds. The most intense ASMR one could experience, really.

It was always great to get feedback from him after he would finish. Being the professional OSU! player that he was, it was nice to get insight on possible map formations, songs, to just general technical suggestions. To no surprise, you both enjoyed the same style of music. It explained why his play history consisted of mostly your maps. Even your least popular ones.

But he never spoke. Not even a whisper. And you never pressed it. If he was just generally shy with speaking, you could understand. You didn't mind doing all of the talking, and him replying with short text, emojies or tts.

You pressed your phone to your lips. m00ncake was always so sweet, supportive, and always a treat to talk to (Well, text to). You just wished you knew his name. Or anything more about him, really. He was always very secretive. It made you wonder why.

When you made it to work, you dressed and fitted into your maid outfit along with the rest of the girls coming in for shift. You heard giggles and whispers, "Hey, did you see that guy that's at that one table? He looks just like Aphelios from Heartsteel!" Another girl wiggled excitedly, nodding her head. "Totally. But it's so hard to tell. He's got his mask on and has his hoodie up. No, there's no way it's not him. As a die-hard fan, I can tell!"

"That's enough, girls." The manager clapped her hands at attention. "Everyone already has their table assignments. And there will be no switching. Whether we have a special customer or not, we always provide excellence in our service. Understood?"

After learning your table assignments, you were ready for your shift. And looked like you were assigned the very table everyone seemed to want. Whines erupted around you. "How come she get's to serve Apehlios? I bet she doesn't even know who Heartsteel is." The mass of complaints silenced as the manager clapped her hands once more.

They were right. You weren't too knowledgeable on the up and coming band. But if they were right, then that made you all the more nervous. It wasn't everyday you served someone of musical prestige. You usually served single college guys, the occasional cute couple, or a group of high-school girls on a fun after school date.

"Welcome back, Master! It's an honor to serve you again today." You sang your rehearsed spiel at the customers table. 'Masters' were always treated as if they had come home from a long journey. "I'm glad you're back safely. You must be tired after being away from home so very long. Please, let me recharge you by taking your food and drink order."

What on earth? You almost broke character. You watched as the young man had his phone out, playing OSU! in the most casual way imaginable. D-Did he memorize the whole song!? The whole scene was out of this world. So distracted by this detail, you almost didn't realize he was trying to communicate. You looked down. He pointed and tapped a finger at his order. A lavender latte and dessert combo.

"Wonderful choice, Master. I'll let the fairy's know right away. Your dessert and drink will be out shortly."

You scurried away with the order. When you returned with a tray, you sought to investigate your customer a little more. It was customary to draw art on the latte foam. You smiled sweetly, drawing the shape of a rabbit. "I'm so happy you returned home, Master. I was so worried because it had been so long. Once I heard you were coming back, I couldn't help but be excited for today. The day when we would finally see each other again."

Honestly, you were just trying to ramble and waste time. He never bothered reacting to your whole gimmick. That gave you security to scan your eyes over his phone screen. Your breath hitched. His username...his username...his username...

After pressing send, you peeked around the corner. You watched as the young man tapped on his phone. After a pause, his eyes snapped wide. Panicked, he looked around the space. As if trying to find a proper response to your question.

It is you, you pressed your lips firmly together. You went back to his table and took his wrist, encouraging him to follow you. "Oh! Master, let me guide you to the restroom." You announced loudly, leading him away. You dragged him into the dressing room. Since next shift wasn't for a few more hours, no one would bother walking in.

"m00ncake, Aphelios--whoever you are. What're you doing here?" How embarrassing. If you ever decided to meet in person, you didn't want it to be like this. With you and your silly frilly outfit and cringey maid character (even though you did enjoy it). But this was way over the top than you imagined!

Aphelio's backed up slowly against a locker. He didn't say a word. Blinking wildly at your question. You pulled out your phone, revealing your Discord and OSU! conversations with him.

"You see this? That's you! And now I know that it's you...you're m00ncake...and Aphelio's from Heartsteel...and I-I'm..."

Why? Why? Why? Why couldn't he have been anyone else than a supposed famous idol star? Why couldn't he have been some normal guy with an obsession with online rhythm games? Someone weirdly normal, like you.

So why....why did you have to like someone so out of your league?

Girlish talk and laughter bounced outside the changing room door. Fearing the worst, you dragged you and Aphelio's into your clothing locker. You made shushing gestures to your lips, which was ironic, since you knew at this point he never said a word.

A couple of girls walked in, laughing to one another. "Wow, I can't believe I lost one of my hair ties. Thanks for letting me borrow yours." The other then replied, "No problem! I always keep spares in my bag. Hey, look. Whose headphones are these?"

In the frantic mess of your actions, Aphelio's lost his headphones. The pair continued to laugh and talk, wondering exactly where the headset even came from. You shifted your gaze upwards. And your heart squeezed horribly inside your chest.

Aphelio's had his eyes half-lided, almost closed. Breathing laboriously through his mask. He looked as if he was in pain. Flinching whenever one of the girls giggled too loudly, or the other raised their voice in excitement. In the condensed space, he had no room to move his arms and cover his ears.

Your eyes widened at the realization. This...this is all my fault. Carefully, you squeezed your arms up, cupping his ears in your hands. In this angle, your cheek condensed into his chest. You felt the erratic thumping of his heart. Slowly, it settled to a steady rhythm. The heaves of his chest dissipating to normal breaths.

When the girls finally left, you uncovered his ears, both slipping out of the locker. You picked up his headphones, adjusting them against his ears. You then fitted the hoodie over his head, wearing a sad smile, "I'm so sorry. About all that. About everything, really. Can...can you forget about today? And don't worry about paying for your meal. I'll cover it."

You didn't let him type or gesture a single word to you. Resuming character, you escorted him out of the maid café, with a take-home box in hand for his troubles.

Your shift dragged on. You didn't bother sending any messages to m00ncake. Or actually, Apehlios, you should say. And no messages came from him, either. Good...it's better this way. The two of you living in two separate worlds.

When end of shift came, the sky had darkened. With your dress bag slung over your shoulder, you left the café. When you stepped onto the sidewalk, someone familiar stood at the side.

"A-Aphelios, why did you..." before you finished, he messaged you on Discord. You opened the message:

m00ncake: i didn't want to forget about today. in fact, do you want to ride the train together?

You paused. A smile then formed across your lips. With a nod, you placed yourself at his side. In a comfortable silence, the two of you walked shoulder to shoulder. Your phone buzzed. Another ping:

m00ncake: i shouldn't probably say this but, i actually have a thing for girls in maid outfits. you can shove me in a locker and call me master anytime. (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

You blushed furiously, grabbing his arm and shaking it with a whine. Thinking maybe, just maybe, two totally different notes could be part of the same song.

Okay so I know this wasn’t the intention, but I read the most recent part of Owl Song and now I can’t stop thinking about Ivy, Jason, and Dick.

Like, in canon she fought both of them as Robin (I think??? I’m pretty sure she was around for Dick’s Robin) and she’s one of the better Rogues in terms of motive and morals. She probably cared for both of them somewhat, so how do you think she (and the other semi-decent rogues) took it when Jason died?

Ah I see how it is, we’re unpacking the good questions now!!!

So at first Ivy probably didn’t notice. Let’s be real, she’s got better things to do then play “keeping up with the batfamily”, and yeah, sure, some of her plants have been getting agitated the more days went by without sightings of either Robin or his loyal shadow (either Batman or Talon/Nightwing), but eh, maybe they’re on vacation or something.

But then Batman is back on the streets and it’s BadTM. Even simple thugs need to be hospitalized, more than one comes close to actually dying (one even flatlines for a moment) and Ivy gets suspicious. Not enough to raise any alarms just yet, still, odd. And still no sight of Robin anywhere.

And then the Joker keeps being found. All over Gotham. Her plants her agitated, they keep whispering about the child-from-the-clocktower and the-one-who-is-cold. And even Ivy can’t keep turning a blind eye.

At first she checks in with Harley, but her girlfriend she doesn’t have any insight either having just returned from a mission with the Birds of Prey (timeline? What timeline). So, dead end. And Crane is a no-go because the Bat hospitalized him with way too many broken bones just the other day.

Two-face it is, but Harvey (both sides of him) are equally as disturbed by the Bat’s sudden volatility as Ivy and he is now on board with trying to find out just what made the Bat snap.

(At this point she’s having a veeery bad feeling about this. Especially because even weeks later Robin is still suspiciously absent from the streets, and there are only whispers of Talon/Nightwing and even her plants can’t seem to pin down either of them.)

Next up is the Riddler, who is already neck-deep into investigation (because how dare Batman not appreciate all his carefully laid riddles and instead punch in faces of low time criminals! And also he may be a teeny-tiny bit worried about the sassy sidekick but SUE him, the kid grows on you like a particularly stubborn case of the pocks ok!?) and immediately agrees to a temporary ceasefire.

So now we have part of the rogue gallery joining forces to find out just wtf is going on, and their next bet is the elusive Catwoman.

And let’s say Selina doesn’t know who Batman is but she’s got soft spot for the big burry anyway so she’s CONCERNED ok? It doesn’t take much persuasion to join forces with the rest of the rag-tag group of high profile rogues to figure this out, and her next proposition is this: grill the Penguin for information.

Oswald Cobblepot is SO not prepared for the joint forces of Catwoman, Two-Face, Riddler, Harley, and Ivy and before long he’s telling them what little he knows about the Joker and his excursion to Ethiopia.

And they all just kinda— freeze. Because— what? No, Robin can’t be dead. Robin is magic. That spunky little kid who’d throw pebbles at Riddler, the one who’d always try to pick-pocket Catwoman, the one urging Harley to leave-the-Joker-he’s-an-ass, the one who always drives Harvey insane with his prime numbers, the one who’d stalked all the way into Robinson park just to ask Ivy how to save the little potted plant he’d been gifted—-

No, no he can’t be dead… right?

But he is. And the talon who’d always kept him safe? That one is gone, too. Nobody knows where he went, but Batman is unspooling, and unspooling fast. And the rogues… well, for once they keep quiet. they don’t give Batman any additional grief (god knows he’s got enough) and instead now make it a point to keep kids out of their business in silent solidarity.

From that day forward any and all people who try to associate themselves with the Joker get taken down by them with extreme prejudice. You think Batman is bad? Try spouting some Joker loving bullshit in front of Ivy. She doesn’t even have to ask her plants to gut you and hang you from the carousel at amusement mile like a Christmas ornament. And god forbid you say anything negative about Robin.

thing about Guda is that they do not have an internal monologue - therefore the player can't directly read their thoughts and feelings. Thanks to that some of the best insight we get into Guda's physical or psychological condition comes from other characters observing and reacting to them. But we also know Guda is a big liar who takes great effort to hide their true feelings from others around them, making those moments few and far between, or only from characters who are particularly insightful or times when Guda is particularly vulnerable.

But the way our perspective on Guda is so limited is what makes me go more than a little insane about moments like these, from Aphrodite's Song and the Garden of Lost Will respectively:

The implications that Guda knows how to fake their way through psychological exams, and has at times cried into their hands so that no one can see. The thing is that we've never directly seen them do either of those things, but that doesn't mean they haven't been doing them, we don't always see everything that goes on in the story, there's always some time gaps or stuff that happens off-screen.

What I'm building up to here is I've got a nagging feeling that Guda has it far worse (or has been in a bad state for far longer that we previously assumed, big Da Vinci in the song screenshot there implies they've been lying on psyche tests as far back as Part 1 or 1.5) than even the most max-level-reading-comprehension-type Guda enjoyers can tell. That maybe they've been deceiving even the audience as well, if only by lies of omission.

Ok, that's gonna be long one.

One jet is around $50 million. She has two. And now she had the ig tracking account taken down claiming that's an invasion of privacy. Very interesting considering the account existed for a few years and she didn't have any problems with it and now suddenly she gets called out for abusing the environment it's become invasive. The lady is shady. And the fact that her answer about not going to therapy is 'i feel very sane'. Oof. She's republican raised for sure. Those people think that any mental health issue equals clinical insanity and if you're seeing a therapist there must be something wrong with you.

She's jumping from one relationship to another and doesn't even know who she is. She just molds into whatever her man wants or what looks best for the image. She doesn't know how to exist on her own. For someone who presents herself as a 'girlboss' she sure doesn't have a sense of self-worth and always has to have a man next to her. No matter how bigoted he may be. She's not getting any younger so she's getting desperate and that's probably why she's unleashing on Joe. If she wants a kid, she doesn't have much time left so she latches on to every man throwing themselves at her in hopes of a happily ever after. It doesn't work like that. Fix yourself first then move on to look for someone to build a life and future with. There's no way any sane grown man would want a self-sabotaging, fight-picking, obsessive overgrown teenager with no sense of boundaries to even marry let alone have a child with. She doesn't know where her public life ends and private one begins.

I'm sure Joe saw all of that and dipped. It's not good to bring a child in that environment. And if they'd ever had one, she'd go on with her life and he'd be a house husband. I've never seen TS as maternal, nurturing or even mature enough to have a child because she seems not to have the capacity to take care of herself. In 2016 Joe was the one who took care of her and 'saved her'. It wasn't her own doing. And when he left, she started spiraling again. She portrayed herself as a mature grown woman in her 2020 albums and that turned out to be a farce. She's still that same insecure 16 year-old but richer, more influential and famous. Her recent interviews are a solid proof of that.

Her music is also nothing special. Some generic pop with repetitive and recycled melodies. She's not a vocalist, not a dancer, doesn't have a superb instrument skill, there's barely any emotion in every song she sings. Her lyrical topics are the same and don't hold any though provoking themes. She uses nonsensical metaphors and uncommonly used words to make her lyrics look better and herself seem smarter. It doesn't change the point of the song though. Argumentative antithetical dream girl is just a glamorous way of saying manic. Machiavellian is a way of saying manipulative, being morally indifferent and self-serving, lacking empathy. Sure does sound nice, huh? "I'm only cryptic and Machiavellian (manipulative, selfish, deceptive, cunning. call it whatever you want) 'cause I care". Machiavellianism in psychology is described as one of the traits in the Dark triad model. Right along narcissism and psychopathy. Mastermind is masterminding out in the open and no one bats an eye. The psychologists that named the trait after Niccolo Machiavelli said that one of the core features is lack of concern for conventional morality (they aren't concerned about the morality of lying and cheating). If you're into psychology Richard Christie and Florence L. Geis (the ones that named the trait) have a book "Studies in Machiavellianism" which is a pretty good and insightful read.

(just my assumption) I'm sure Joe dropped that word on her and she was like 'ooh, sounds nice and Machiavelli was like very political, a bit controversial and cool and people refer to him a lot, I'll definitely be using that in a song'. lmao. little did she know. I think she thought he meant it in a political sense and not a psychological one. Which are totally different things. And I'm sure he was like 'lol, she thought'.

There're a ton of celebrities bringing her up on talk-shows as well. At least once a week there's a bit on some show about a certain celeb's interaction with her. As someone who enjoys learning english trough media that's quite disturbing. I see her everywhere, TV shows, news articles, social media outlets. She's becoming inescapable. And that makes me wonder about the proportion of celebrities and journalists who genuinely like her and the ones who bring her up to get more attention. God forbid you say anything negative about her. Her Karen army will immediately send death threats your way, make fun of every aspect of your life or even dox you. And with her silence she's enabling this behaviour because she's a self-proclaimed Machiavellian (whether she chose a psychological meaning for the song or not) and doesn't care what her minions do as long as she doesn't get called out for it.

She only allows non-critical journalists to interview her. I mean, what kind of self-suck is that? An interview should be a form of discussion and not an ass kissing session. Any negative article about her will have your whole outlet blacklisted from interacting with her and her team. She needs to be in full control of the narrative all the damn time because she knows that once she lets go of the rein all of the skeletons in her closet will fall out on their own.

She's digging her own grave and I'm here for it. Last time she could make Kim and Kanye the villains and this time she'll have no one to blame but herself. Her narcissistic flat ass would make Tree the scapegoat if there's no one else she could point her finger to. It's always someone else's fault but hers. A chronic victim of this cruel patriarchal world.

I have studied psychology briefly and have learned about the dark triad and machiavellianism. What's surprising to me is that high mach people can gain advantage in the short run but ultimately lose their power in the long run because people start seeing through their surface level acting, which is what we're seeing through her behaviour right now. She acts to be an activist only when it benefits her. But swifties have so much obsession with her that even if they find it disturbing, they will try to justify it. Also idk how Taylor flexes about her machiavellianism, like to me that's not something to be proud of, the ends do not justify the means when you hurt so many people in the process. The fact that she's accepting she's cunning, manipulative, deceptive and lies to get things according to her own interest tells a lot about who she is as a person! no wonder why Joe didn’t want to marry her. Her machiavellianism trait only benefitted her in the short run

Hello! I hope this doesn't come across as a Taylor-bashing question. While I believe that artists should be able to sing/write/create about their lived experience, there's something about the way Taylor handled mental health in this album that rubbed me the wrong way. I'll try to put it succinctly in three points: 1) TTPD seems to spill out the mental health issues/depression of Joe Alwyn, who seems like a very private person. I don't want to bring celebrity drama into this, but there's something discomfiting abot Taylor being more subtle and silent about his mental illness when they were together, and then spilling about it when they've broken up. 2) The way that she writes about mental illness/depression strikes me as hurtful. An example: "You sacrificed us to the gods of your bluest days." The takeaway seems to be an accusation that the subject chose his depression over her, which is...iffy. 3) The aesthetic of her album seems to be 'insanity' and 'mental torture' and, especially given the above two, it seems to be in poor taste?

I don't mean that Taylor shouldn't write about her experience about being resentful for a partner's mental illness/how they handled it, it just seems she's threading a sketchy line and I'm not sure if she handled that very well. But, I would really appreciate it if you have another way of looking at this. I do like Taylor's songs, and I appreciate your insights to them!

well first of all I sincerely love you for numbering your ask, it’s so readable and coherent. bless!! I’ll answer in order:

I think she absolutely was not any more subtle or silent about his struggles while they were together. his sadness has been all over so many of her love songs about him, using the exact same images that she brings back in ttpd. she says in hoax, “don’t want no other shade of blue but you, no other sadness in the world would do”. and she talks in the long pond sessions about this for her being an example of true love, the person you want to be with in really dark times. in renegade she says “the shape of you was jagged and weak, there was nowhere for me to stay, but I stayed anyway”. a lot of what she says in ttpd is a purposeful callback to words of love she spoke in earlier songs, not undoing them, but mourning the fact they weren’t enough. mirrorball says “I’m still trying everything to get you laughing at me”, So Long London says “I stopped trying to make him laugh, stopped trying to drill the safe”. it’s not about airing his private business, she doesn’t give us any more details now than she did when they were in love. the only difference is in how it made her feel.

I don’t think Taylor is saying that her partner chose depression over her, or that it’s his fault for not pulling himself out of it. if we look at You’re Losing Me along with this album, I think it’s abundantly clear that the reason she left is because She Wanted To Be Married. “do something babe, say something. choose something babe, I’ve got nothing to believe unless you’re choosing me.” “are we really gonna talk about timing in times like these??” she wanted them to choose each other despite everything difficult and sad. and he simply never did. you can say that a huge commitment like that would be horrifically hard for a person deeply depressed, but she waited six years, and he was showing more interest in anything but her (“I’m the best thing at this party” “I founded the club she’s heard great things about” “it’s not right to be scared every day of a love affair” “fell victim to interlopers’ glances”). “is it your anxiety that stops you from giving me everything or do you just not want to?” indeed.

I don’t think there’s any reason to assume this is merely an album aesthetic. I don’t necessarily take it as literal-diagnostic as some other commenters have, but when Taylor talks about her mental health on this album, I think we can take her pretty seriously. “how much sad did you think I had”, “am I allowed to cry”, “you don’t get to tell me about sad” are repeated through this album, but it’s not new. “I’m with you even if it makes me blue” in Paper Rings, “when my depression works the graveyard shift all of the people I ghosted stand there in the room” in Anti-Hero, “a house, not a home, all alone 'cause nobody's there, where I pace in my pen and my friends found friends who care” from Dear Reader. she’s suffering too. the breakdown that happens over the course of this album is not a performance, it is very very real and a long time coming.

tldr: I think she really really loved him. and she loved him while both of them were really sad. he didn’t choose depression over her, but he also didn’t choose her, and that finally broke her. she has every right to leave a relationship that’s dragging on and never going anywhere to seek somebody who wants the same life she does.

Seeing all these photo shoots years and years with Taylor inspired by Karlie...I don't understand how people say she was only a fling. It would make Taylor insane and Karlie I assume very worried for her safety to have a fling being so obsessed with you.

i think as you go along this journey of understanding taylor’s music, it’s always important to reevaluate things and arcs and people that youve been told are important and epoch making, as you gain a better understanding of who was telling you the information and why, and you begin to develop your own insight. those are important life skills in general.

speaking for myself, i’ve only gained a stronger belief in the importance of karlie in taylor’s work as the years have gone on, which is incidentally something that is not the case with everything i was once presented with in the beginning of my time here, or as i began to better understand the dynamics of the metanarrative, and became more able to identify patterns in the way information gets presented. but i digress.

i think that some people might want to reposition karlie as a fling because kaylor as it stands is something lots of people do not want to ship. as opposed to being an inquiry into what the truth in taylor’s music is.

shipping is all about preference, you’re looking for something that you want to imagine. and so they find ways to ship other people with taylor, and since there’s a limited set of songs in her back catalog, that means trying to flip some songs that are kaylor songs into a narrative that they would prefer.

that’s why i think a lot of OG kaylors don’t like the term shipping, because it doesn’t accurately describe the motivation of our endeavors to understand taylor’s discography, something that has been underscored by the inclusion of the line “the girl in my story has always been you”

Silver trying to stop it despite loosing his father. Malleus trying to give Lilia a happy dream that doesn’t include him, just his parents or Silver. But the greatest fear is waking up and saying goodbye 😭💔

aside from the obvious imagery of the knife, i feel like this song perfectly describes zayis and astarion's relationship. with lyrics that essentially hint at a very complicated dynamic that comes out of nowhere, i envision a lot of zay's struggles when i hear it.

also, i feel like the two bridges definitely correlate perfectly to the development of their relationship as well.

another zaystarion relationship song, this one i feel like speaks more to their more toxic side and how they have issues seeing eye to eye. a lot of lyrics are pretty vague but i interpret it as two people who know they're wrong for each other but stick it out in the hopes of finding a love they both desire.

out of all the songs on this list, i'd say this the one that perfectly describes zay as a whole. as a very stubborn character who's experienced a lot of hardships, a lot of her emotional responses devolve into anger. and i feel like this song perfectly captures those feelings in the lyrics.

another zaystarion "love is complicated" song. the lyrics are just so perfect and this song especially just ugh —i just love it. it's literally on all of their playlists i make of them :')

every time i think of the differences in zay's various relationships, i think of this song. specifically because i think it proves the juxtaposition of how the group sees her vs. how she sees herself.

as the party leader, they often see her as this brave and often enraged woman who refuses to run from anything. whereas she sees herself as a coward who's always running from point a to point b trying to find meaning without actually doing the work.

for example: when she runs away from home instead of standing up to her father or running away from astarion after he admits his feelings for her multiple times throughout the story.

but your sweet sinless sensation is not my style and i'm not giving up but tell me if i run away how long will i bleed?

hi, new ish xtc fan here .. was wondering if you know thr best places to find like the most niche info about them? if that makes sense LOL theyve just been scratching the brain so good and ive read song stories but i want More .. hope its not weird to ask you this :[

erm for some photos and song notes and interview transcripts chalkhills.org is my best best friend. they’re an old style fansite with tons of archived stuff, they also have tons of xtc guitar tabs 😁😁 optimismsflames.com is another old fansite i look for stuff on, they’re a little harder to navigate but still have a boatload of stuff up. those are places i go when i have a specific thing in mind mainly; a specific image i’m searching for or someone’s thoughts on a particular song. but they’re good to just browse too i’ve spent many an hour that way

they only have one traditional biography, chalkhills and children, written by chris twomey. it’s kind of surface level but also a really fun read for weird little stories & quotes. this book is a really good example of how xtc were not the average rock band in terms of drinking sex drugs etc but what they had going on was Considerably More Insane for other reasons mainly they are collectively 5 of the little fucked up freaks of all time

complicated game is another song book which you may not get much out of if you’ve already read song stories, but i think it’s a little more complete. i’ve heard a couple fans say that out of all the xtc books, complicated game is the best & has great insight into the music, specifically for musicians but for anyone 😁

this is pop— documentary that came out in 2017. the only documentary ever made about xtc. corny and very low budget but soo lovingly made and genuinely so good if you love them. fits the tone of the band well. i’ve seen it so many times

xtc at the manor— tv special filmed while xtc were at the manor studios for single work for black sea, following the recording and mixing of an alternate for the generals and majors single. they all talk about their instruments and how they chose music as a pursuit, also day to day footage in and around the studio. this one is my utter beloved

xtc play at home— (in three parts, 1 2 3) a special from 1984, xtc talk about their music as well as their hobbies. there are also some very low budget and hard to find music videos for some of the songs off mummer. dave talks about his guitars. andy talks about his board games. colin talks about Fishing. i love this one

recording nonsuch at chipping norton studios— this is a 50 minute home movie type special following the rehearsal and recording of nonsuch. i’ve seen this one through less times than the other two i linked because nonsuch is erm. my least favourite of their discs sorryyyy but it’s still a really good watch and i know a lot of folks love nonsuch

ultimately i don’t know if any of this stuff is niche. it’s all out there free online. the path you take with your poking around and research is yours :^) but i do think there’s great stuff in everything here and hopefully you’ll find something that suits your fancy

hello! I like reading your insights, I was wondering if you think we’ll get a ‘Letter’ equivalent / something similar on JK’s project - a song that touches on Jimin that does/doesn’t feature him?

Part of me wouldn’t put it past him but I also feel like letter was a personal gesture from Jimin, he reached out to Jk with a purpose. I feel like JK wouldn’t do it “for the sake of it”. I also feel like JK has done SO much to show/hint at his love for Jimin - GCFT for starters and his hand tattoo - (I’m really sorry I still believe it’s a JM lol. Nobody calls you “J” JK! Lol). So even if he doesn’t have a JM related track it wouldn’t change anything. It was kind of Jimin’s turn lol 😂

I digress but yeah just wondering what your thoughts are in regard to whether you think he’ll have something jimin related (even if super subtle) on his personal project/album. (Just out of pure speculation for fun, nothing serious).

hi dear :) I've had a bit of a difficult day but im okay now.

now this is a question i like to see

so here's a few i really like :

The Green Creek Series by TJ Klune - now when I tell people that my favourite book series is about gay werewolves. they presumably judge me. but this series is one of the most well written things i have ever read. It doesn't follow typical A/B/O dynamics AT ALL which makes it really interesting and is written by a queer author also. everytime i thought the last book i read would be my favourite, i was mistaken. there's such a sense of brotherhood, family and community in it. its one of my all time favourites.

All For The Game by Nora Sakavic - this series is absolutely insane. it is one book series that i absolutely LOVE but rarely reccomend to anyone. its somwhow about a made up sport, a mafia organization and also is somehow gay. its also so good. i read this when i was about 15 and it has had me in a grip ever since.

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi - I read the first shatter me book when i was in the 8th grade and i borrowed it from my best friend. I got in trouble that day for staying up till 5am to finish it. i will admit, I have not read all the books, but i have read most of them and i love them. Aaron Warner is the ONLY blond man i will ever love and i mean that.

The Lightning Struck Heart by TJ Klune - there's a gay unicorn. that's all i have to say

This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab - I analyzed this book for a book report and then presented it to department officials at an English moderation. when i tell you i could tell you VERY DETAIL of this duology (the duology is called Monsters Of Verity). I absolutely loved the characters. there were some weak points but just. overall. I really like this book.

The Mark by Edyth Bulbring - I wasn't going to include this book on this list initially, but this book was my setwork in the 10th grade and I absolutely loved it. it was the first and only time in my life that i throughly enjoyed a setwork.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - yes i know this is a popular book. yes you've probably read it but this book means so much to me. the hunger games is the first book i bought with my own money. I bought it from a little second-hand bookshelf in a vintage shop and it's one of my most treasured possessions. the books themselves were absolutely brilliant and i adore them. katniss everdeen will ALWAYS be that girl btw.

This has been taken to court and Dan Dymtrow has sent in this email written to him by Taylor Swift’s dad, Scott Swift, which now makes the email a public document. And that's how we have it.  

This leaked email gives so much insight and detail into celebrity life and how almost everything is calculated behind the scenes.

This scandal is important because it exposed a few things:

Taylor Swift grew up wealthy and privileged: Sott Swift bragged about in his leaked email to Dan, "Keep in mind that I manage $270 million but more importantly, 249 relationships with families at Merrill in a terrible market… I am in the top 1% of all brokers at the most prestigious investment firm in the world. I manage staff, I manage my client’s lives, their money, I have moved my family to Nashville, cleaned out two houses, sold one.” Another example is how the move to Nashville cost the family a lot of money, “Who made enough money that if we have to take off across the country we will be okay? Who hired staff ahead of time so that we could move to Nashville? The idiot that lives with Andrea!!!!!”

Scott Swift used his insane amount of connections to get Taylor's career started: For example, he goes into detail about inviting Scott Sanford out to their Nashville lake (he also talks about all the things he owns like jet skies and boats). He says that while hanging out with Scott Sanford he promised him to join the Nashville Duck Drop ONLY if he allowed Taylor to sing at the event, "I agree to corral ducks if he lets Taylor be the talent at Riverfront Park for the Duck Drop". He also made his clients listen to her music, "Who has made every single client listen to Taylor’s latest song before we went over their financial plan?"

Anyway, it’s a very long and unhinged email, but it does a good job at showing you how Taylor’s career was orchestrated behind the scenes (the asylum where they raised her) and also does a good job at showing how Taylor is the way she is when this is her dad (he's such a weirdo).
