ooh avatar !!! i havent seen it since i was a kid but i do remember a fairly good bit!

the obvious run-through!! there was four elements — earth, water, fire, air. everything changed when the firenation attacked. the last airbender was the 12 year old avatar and thats only because aang ran away and got frozen in a glacier until katara accidentally released him 100 years later while arguing with her brother sokka... theres 3? books (aka seasons). zuko is the fire prince and has a repressed gay thing going on and daddy issues. sone uncle issues too but in a different way. also his mom is dead but also maybe not?? thats an issue too. also sibling issues. thate rough buddy. hes shipped with the water siblings frequently and people do not shut up about his redemption arc ever.

anyways. toph tags along after a swamp psychosis leads the gang to her. she mom codes katara. eventually aang goes on this big self discovery with the spirit world and a giant turtle. instead of killing the firelord (aka the daddy dude in zukos daddy issues), he just takes his bending away :)

The basics: Rina is a non-bender from the Fire Nation. She makes a living as an artist and has non-segmental vitiligo. The vitiligo is generalized across her entire body but the most noticeable are across her face, shoulders, and left arm

My girl Rina is a fantastic painter. No one realizes it until Mako finally brings her over for dinner to meet Lin and Kya, but Lin has had one of her paintings hanging in her apartment for years.

A very very passionate young lady with strong political, social, and moral opinions, but is overall fairly soft-spoken. She will politely but irrefutably cut a racist argument off at the knees and you can’t argue her because rather than getting angry and arguing, she just shuts you down with a sweet tone and a well-constructed argument that makes everyone, including you, think you’re an idiot (which, if you’re making that kind of argument, you are).

She has a pleasant enough personality that she can get along with anyone. If she can’t get along with you, that says something

Most of the family was a bit nervous to meet her because all they knew was that she was an artist and they’d met through Huan, and as much as everyone absolutely loves and cherishes Huan, they’re not sure if that’s really the kind of person Mako was made for

Needless to say they were all charmed by this polite, kind young lady with a gentle demeanor and “The most amazing earrings I’ve ever seen where did you get those”- Korra

Korrasami HC: Korra creates statues of Asami every year for Asami’s birthday. At Korra park where they have Korra’s statue, Korra just creates one of Asami right next to her. At almost every nation there’s just an Asami statue. At the SWT, Korra made a giant ice statue of Asami, at the Fire nation, Korra had Bolin help her carve Asami’s face on the side of a volcano. Asami loves Korra so much but she thinks this is all a little too much, but also she’s not any better. Asami was put in charge of creating an Avatar museum, but more than half the museum is just an homage to Korra. Asami bought thousands of dollars worth of hair clips because she always accidentally gives her fancy ones away to Korra. For their anniversary, Asami hired the best painter ever, which is really just Meelo but he charges a really hefty price, to paint a grand portrait of Korra and Asami so everyone who walks into their house could see them being in love <3.

am I a good sculptor? no, not really, I have a lot to learn. am I a good photographer? not in the slightest. am I organized or bothering to clean my desk? nope! should I have waited until tomorrow to post this when I had good lighting? yes! I was quite excited. but am I a fairly decent painter? I would say that's a yes!

this is my first major sculpting project (I've dabbled before) and I am really really proud of it! it isn't perfect, much as my obsessive little heart wishes it was, but I'd say I did a pretty good job with this. it was really fun to work on, and super rewarding! I forgot to take more process pictures oops haha. I spent upwards of ten hours on this, and I am really excited about it. my lackluster photography skills probably don't do it justice, oh well!
