Hey! So, gonna start a pick-a-pile tarot reading channel on YouTube, as well as dream interpretations.
So, i was curious, what sort of reading would you like to hear? I'm looking for ideas and suggestions.
Most people do a "who is your soul mate" etc. Etc. Style of reading.
I'd love to do readings like that but also, i want to know what you would like to hear
I was also gonna do shipping readings/character tarot readings such as "what would this character think of you"
Also, i may be looking for submissions for dream interpretations as well!
So if you have a dream you want interpreted, let me know! (Submissions aren't open yet! But keep an eye out)
I'll probably also start a tumblr account for the channel too
Once the channel is up and running for a while, ill offer private readings for $10 that will be extensive.
I mean like a biiig biiig spread of cards.
I may also read (with permission) peoples dreams and their interpretations on my channel:)
I'll do the first interpretation free but any other dream after that would be $5
(I don't deal in astrology, starseed, or any kinda twinflame stuff, cause thats not my cup of tea. I also dont call upon deities and stuff from closed religions out of respect)

Oh man oh man I just saw an Outer Wilds fanart done in the style of a tarot card and I had to immediately drop everything I was doing to think through what an all-Outer-Wilds version of the major arcana would be. I think I have it, it's under the read more because it's long and also there are major major spoilers (unsurprisingly).
0. The Fool: The Hatchling This one is easy. The hatchling is at the beginning of their journey, stepping into the unknown.
1. The Magician: Pye Bringing intention and direction, choosing a path, and channeling cosmic power - yeah I think Pye of “science compels us to explode the sun” fame fits this pretty perfectly.
2. The High Priestess: The Nomai Statues Ok, I kinda struggled with this one, but I think it works. Hidden knowledge, dealing with the mind, the subsconscious vs conscious, veils between worlds. The statues are mysterious and they transmit your knowledge to your previous selves. That fits decently well and also I don’t have a better idea.
3. The Empress: Timber Hearth Ok, I really struggled with this one. I’m going for the themes of creation, life, nature, and nurturing by choosing Timber Hearth since it is literally where life in the solar system grew. I'm not happy with this but whatever.
4. The Emperor: The Vault Authority, establishment, control to the point of domination. They sealed the Prisoner in the vault for defying the system. Plus the Vault looks cool and imposing so we have that going for us.
5. The Hierophant: Solanum Connecting to the past, passing on wisdom, initiation into a spiritual practice (aka reaching the QM). Yeah this is Solanum.
6. The Lovers: Nomai Graveyard (Emotional damage pt 1) I’m so so sorry but it works so well. What says love besides holding your friends close as you all asphyxiate to death?
7. The Chariot: Your Ship Maybe this one is a little too literal but I still think it fits. Determination and drive, knowing where you want to go, overcoming obstacles. Also it's literally your ship. It works.
8. Strength: Chert I’m going to be honest.... Chert is here because they were the only traveler that didn’t have a card that clearly fit, and I couldn’t leave only them out when I gave all the other travelers cards, and I didn’t have another idea for what Strength should be. Hand-wavy explanation: view Strength as getting to the core of confronting your fear and anger and pain and coming out the other side, and, well, Chert having a existential breakdown and then coming to a place of calm acceptance about the inevitability of death sort of… fits…. look just pretend this one makes sense and let’s move along quickly -
9. The Hermit: Feldspar Self-explanatory. The literal solitude, yeah, but also Feldspar is this mentor figure who guides you on your journey, and is apparently happy to just sit and chill in the nightmare hell that is Dark Bramble. It works.
10. The Wheel of Fortune: The Advanced Warp Core in the ATP Change, fate, turning points, cycles - and the breaking of cycles. This is another easy one.
11. Justice: The Prisoner There are a lot of ways you can interpret this. You have the Prisoner defying their society’s rules in an attempt to do what is right, and the strangers believing they were dispensing justice by imprisoning them but actually causing harm. The more I think about this one the more I like it.
12. The Hanged Man: Gabbro Another easy one. Taking a pause to rest, passivity, acceptance, independence, seeing things differently. Plus you even get the literal imagery of them hanging on the hammock, floating in zero-g. This is a slam dunk.
13. Death: The skull + flower from the Strangers’ visions of the Eye Letting go to allow the world to change and let new things grow is literally what this vision is about. Plus it’s a skull! I mean it’s right there.
14. Temperance: Riebeck Steadiness, moderation, plus the duality of Riebeck being terrified of space but still choosing to go out into it.
15. The Devil: The Eye Signal Blocker Destruction, complicity in oppression, avoiding accountability, confronting fear (or avoiding doing so). Oh yeah I’m so on board with this being the Eye Signal Blocker.
16. The Tower: The Interloper (Emotional damage part 2). The destruction of the status quo, disaster, tragedy, upheaval. There is no question here.
17. The Star: The Eye Searching for purpose, navigating a path, themes of renewal. Plus it even kinda has a star-like shape. It’s the Eye.
18. The Moon: The Quantum Moon Look, sometimes the literal choice works. Mystery, secrets, illusions? Yeah, that’s QM alright.
19. The Sun: The Sun Who could have seen this one coming??? ….The thing is… the meaning of the tarot Sun card absolutely doesn’t match the purpose the sun plays in Outer Wilds. But there is nothing else that could be the sun. It’s the sun!
20. Judgement: The Campfire in the Starry Forest Facing yourself, facing the truth, acceptance, ultimately letting go so that you can reach the end. Yeah.
21. The World: The Big Bang The end, and the beginning.

Immortal GIGS Crew Phasmophobia AU
GIGS phasmo AU where they're basically just a group of retired immortals having fun :D
Impulse and Skizz started working for this ghost hunting company, and since they can't die, instead of reading the manual they decided to just fuck around and find out.
In truth, they kinda just showed up and started taking jobs. The company was gonna find these intruders and punish them at first, but when the spectacular results started coming in, the higher-ups hesitantly decided to let it go, since none of their actual employees were brave enough to take the cases Impulse and Skizz did.
Eventually, their results from one investigation were left with a letter requesting payment, since they didn't wanna keep using the cheap starter equipment in the van they "borrowed." So if the company slips an envelope full of cash into their own mailbox every time they receive a report for the mystery workers to take, and sometimes equipment disappears from storage with cash in its place, they simply would look the other way.
Later they drag Grian, Scar, and Gem into their shenanigans and they also fuck around and find out.
To the company, the GIGS Crew is their best team, even if they don't know much about them. They always take their hardest, most fatal jobs, and walk out completely fine.
Little do they know these eldritch entities die repeatedly and they scream like little girls. What is considered an almost certainly fatal job for any regular person, is just a game to the GIGS.
For example, all manuals say to snap pictures of cursed items, and safely return them to HQ to be disposed of in a contained area. GIGS crew though? None of them have the self control to not use those. Every single one of them would pull every tarot card for fun and you know it. Manual says to under no circumstances touch a summoning circle. GIGS does not read the manual.
They even set some rules early on, afterall this is a game to them, and what fun is a game if you can't die? So essentially they declared that if a ghost was to hit you with what would be a killing blow, you have to go into spectral form, in which you detach from your body and hover about like a spectator. Think Dr. Strange. The only thing they're allowed to do in this form is pick stray items up, and if everyone "dies" they have to jump ship and come back again later.
They can be 'revived' by the monkey paw or something too. Thing is, despite the fact that they don't need to, they still say, "I wish for Life," before the 'dead' person returns to their body. If this causes some recently dead guy a block away to suddenly wake up fine, sue them. They're causing miracles over here, be grateful!
Now imagine something happens one day that causes a human mortal that also works for the company in some regard to bare witness to GIGS' unhinged method of investigation. They're playing with cursed objects like toys, purposefully triggering hunts, and—
Unnamed is sitting in the van watching the camera closely when it happens. They've been tasked as a fifth, no wait, sixth member of the legendary GIGS crew for the day, since there's apparently a girl named Gem that subs in for Scar half the time. They're thinking that, sure, this team's been a bit reckless so far, but who are they to judge? These guys are THE professionals, after all. However, this viewpoint quickly gets decimated.
"HahAHA Scar's dead!" Unnamed's head snaps up at Grian's outburst. They, being the normal person they are, respond reasonably, "Wait, agent Scar is dead-?!" A pause followed by a realization, "Why the hell are you laughing-?!"
Grian, who came back into the van for candles since they were going to do an Onryo test before it started hunting, suddenly remembers that humans don't think death is funny. Right. Need to fix that slip up.
"Uhm... out of shock, I think?" Wow, A+ excuse, he mentally berates himself. Think Grian, think! Humans have that thing called grief, right? And isn't the first stage of that denial? Bingo! "I.. I'm sorry, I think I'm just.. in denial?" Grian wants to slap himself. Great idea, horrible execution. Unnamed clearly didn't buy it.
Thankfully, that mess was interrupted, "Hey guys, I found the monkey paw. Should I use it to bring Scar back?" Impulse says over the radio. Skizz and Grian are quick to agree, the latter also using the distraction to rush out of the van and that conversation with the candles.
It takes a moment to click, but Unnamed suddenly realizes, "Wait, are you guys gonna use a cursed item to bring Agent Scar back-?! Look, I know you all are mourning, but that is under all circumstances forbidden!" They take a breath in disbelief, "That could have unforeseen consequences!"
Skizz pipes up, not even trying to be subtle, "Well, duh. The consequences are what makes it fun!" Unnamed is interrupted by Impulse before they can rant about how bad of an idea this is—, "Yeah you say that until you're the one that has to deal with them," he chuckles.
Skizz, in blind yet playful rage, bites the bait, "Fine then! Give me the monkey paw, and I'll wish Scar back to life myself!"
Skizz does this and dies, and they can practically hear him complaining from beyond the grave. Impulse snaps a picture of his corpse as they make fun of the position he's in, his back bent backward. Unnamed is frozen in shock in the van as they listen to Skizz's friends, including a newly revived Scar, laugh at their own friend's demise. Oh god, they're surrounded by psychopaths. These guys take all the hardest jobs, of course they've gone crazy—
Unnamed, after spiraling for an unknown amount of time, looks over to the activity chart to see that there is a hunt going on. This gives them some time to collect their thoughts, only for that little composure to immediately be shattered when as soon as the hunt ends, Grian barks out a laugh, "Oh Scar! He's died AGAIN!", "Oh nooo!" Impulse follows along with a chuckle. Unnamed is on the verge of hyperventilating.
The two remaining GIGS return to the van and ignore Unnamed's impending panic attack. Grian tells Impulse that the hunt started right after the third candle blew out, so he thinks it's an Onryo. "I mean we do already have orbs, but I wasn't getting freezing temps and that ghost just wasn't answering spirit box." Impulse counters.
"Listen, I know I was spirit boxin' it pretty good,"—Unnamed shudders at that. The second-hand cringe they felt listening to Grian's "WHERE ARE YOUUU-?!" was indescribable—"but my gut is really telling me it's an Onryo! Besides, we've had ghosts that just refused to talk before."
"Your gut is usually right," Impulse mutters. "Look, we've got one of two evidence and a successful Onryo test, so I say we gag since Scar and Skizz are dead." Grian says. Impulse still looks unsure, "I just feel like it's too soon. One evidence is hardly enough, and that Onryo test could be a fluke."
They have completely forgotten Unnamed is there at this point, and they don't exactly feel like attracting attention to themself as they wilt like a flower in the corner, pondering their life choices.
Grian relents a bit, "Okay how about this, we ask Scar and Skizz if we should gag or continue investigating, fair?" Impulse nods, "Fair."
Unnamed looks up a little, concerned on how exactly they plan to consult their dead friends. They're beginning to think there's a high likelihood they'll quit tonight, and they're definitely going to need a therapist after all this.
Impulse speaks up over the radio despite them all being in the truck, "Alright guys, come get your clipboards!" Unnamed stares on in something akin to horror as two of the clipboards up on the wall start hovering. Impulse's voice is somehow too loud and too quiet at the same time, "Alright, throw your clipboards on the keyboard if we should continue, and throw them on the floor if we should gag."
Both clipboards are now being repeatedly picked up and tossed on the floor of the van by an invisible force. 'Forces,' they correct themself mentally, as it slowly dawns on them that these ghosts are actually Scar and Skizz, and isn't THAT a mind-twister?
Impulse looks slightly disappointed but smiles good-naturedly anyway, "You guys wanna gag? Alrighty then, check off Onryo and let's go!"
This is the moment that Impulse suddenly remembers Unnamed's existence, looking slightly worried at their lack of input, "You okay?" He turns his head, "Grian don't go yet, Unnamed hasn't given their opinion." Grian grumbles out a 'fine', and Impulse looks back at them, "You wanna gag, or should we contin–" Unnamed interrupts, "Just get me outta here please," they near-whisper.
Impulse looks them over and remembers that humans aren't meant to be that pale and hesitantly asks, "You uh... feeling sick?" He looks over to Grian for help, and Unnamed could swear they heard Grian sassily mumble, "Don't look at me, I dunno how humans work either," but they had to be hearing things, because that just doesn't make sense, surely.
"Impulse, lets just go and pass Unnamed onto someone who actually knows what they're doing," Grian grumbles, clearly frustrated. Impulse still looks concerned (at least he's trying), but concedes since, yeah, they really don't know what they're doing, do they?
As Grian starts the truck, Unnamed notices that Scar and Skizz's bodies are suddenly in the truck. Did– did Grian leave while Impulse looked them over? That had only lasted for a few seconds though, Grian couldn't possibly have dragged them in in that time, could he? It's like they were just teleported in here. Unnamed is really going to need that therapist, and maybe some kind of hallucination medication too...
While staring into space and down at the keyboard in misery, Unnamed distantly hears the sounds of someone cracking their joints and grunting noises to accompany it. They fully snap to attention, however, when they hear the people's voices.
Scar makes a sound of discomfort as he snaps his neck back into place, "Oh void, gonna feel that in the mornin'," he mutters to himself. Skizz on the other hand lets out a whoop at the satisfying crack in his back, before immediately thrusting into bickering with Impulse.
"Dipple-Dop, you killed me!" Skizz exclaims, and Unnamed gets the feeling that they should cover their ears, like a child does when their parents fight. "ME-?! You're the one who used the monkey paw!" Impulse retorts. Skizz, "Well, you shouldn't have given it to me!" Impulse, "But you literally asked me for it!" Skizz, "Well, I wouldn't have if you didn't instigate me!" Impulse, "Oh, come on! You..."
Unnamed tunes them out and focuses on Scar and Grian, all thoughts having left their head out of pure shock, believing this must be some twisted fever dream. It makes sense, they think, they have been tasked with reviewing GIGS' reports for the past month after all.
In truth, the only reason Unnamed is here in the first place is because Skizz didn't read a form before signing it. With their previous check, GIGS received a form that was asking about sending someone to monitor and review their methods and see if they're fit to formally become employees. It was really just an effort to get to know something about these mysterious volunteers, though.
Skizz, however, just skimmed the part gushing about how much the company appreciates their hard work and the benefits of becoming real hires, not actually reading the part about the employee evaluation, assuming they were just going to get the rewards. He signed it and wrote down the GIGS Crew email address he created a minute ago, hence why Unnamed is now here. Yippie.
They tune into Grian and Scar's conversation as they vaguely register Impulse and Skizz's continued, albeit quieter, bickering in the background. Scar is griping about the crick in his neck, "Why do you guys always have to leave a guy in the most uncomfortable positions, huh?" Grian responds blunty with zero hesitation, "Because it's funny," he snorts.
Unnamed tunes them out too as their brain starts to reboot enough to process that they are supposed to be dead. Why are they not dead-?!
Grian notices Unnamed staring in the corner and clears his throat above everyone else's chatter, making a gesture towards them once he has their attention. Unnamed can feel their heart sink straight through the floor, and a metaphorical noose tighten around their neck.
He looks over at Scar and Skizz, "You two really couldn't wait to get back up, could you? Remember, we. have. COMPANY!" Grian punctuates each word in that statement with a clap.
The two sheepishly look over at Unnamed while Impulse looks mildly panicked. Scar and Impulse were cooking up some half-baked excuses, and Skizz is malfunctioning when Grian sighs and relents a bit, "Okay, we're really not being that subtle anyway, are we?"
Scar is spewing a ridiculous explanation in the background, "They uh, shocked us back to life while you weren't looking, yeah!" A whisper from Skizz shuts him up, "I'm no expert, but I don't think that's how that works, buddy." Scar deflates a bit, "But that's all I've got..." Skizz rubs a comforting hand on his back, "I know, dude, at least ya' tried."
Before Unnamed can get enough of a grip on themself and ask what in the hell is happening, the ride ends, simultaneously having taken an eternity and also been way too short.
Grian slips out of the driver seat and ushers them outside quickly, them now standing in front of the company's main building looking lost. "Wait!" Impulse stops Grian from driving off, "You forgot your employee evaluation sheet. It looks oddly blank..." Impulse trails off before snapping out of his stupor, "Sorry! Didn't mean to pry. I'm probably not meant to read that, huh?" He slips the report into Unnamed's hand when they don't take it on their own.
"Oh, and would you mind taking in our report for this job too?" Despite the lack of a response, Impulse slips the report into their hands anyway, "Thanks, pleasure working with you! Sorry for any disturbances we many of caused." Impulse calls out as he steps back into the vehicle, Grian driving away as soon as the door closes, as if driving away will solve all their problems.
Unnamed starts to mindlessly wander inside the building, robotically turning in the report and submitting their evaluation sheet for review, one to the standard job review department and one to HQ. 'It really is a bit blank, huh?' They think passively. They're not really there, still feeling like they're floating in nothingness, but it's the first coherent thought they've had regarding reality in a while, so they'll take anything at this point.
Before they know it, they've found their way into the overnight stay room. Most investigations occur at night, so they have two rooms with sectioned off areas, each area containing a twin bed and a nightstand. It would look uncannily like a hospital if the nightstands were metal instead of wood.
They look up at the clock in the room and distantly note that its 2:17 am. Barely acknowledging that, they ungracefully flop onto the nearest available bed and pass out unceremoniously, not even taking off their shoes. The last thing to cross their mind before drifting off into a dreamless sleep is absolute certainty that this must just be a really strange nightmare induced by lack of proper sleep, and with that, they are at peace.
~
Unnamed hazily blinks their eyes open the next morning to see a silhouette sitting on their bedside, vaguely recognizing them as their friend, Unidentified. They can't focus on that though, only signing in relief now that that disturbing dream was over, writing it off as nerves for the upcoming job with GIGS. They're probably completely normal people, if a bit unorthodox.
This illusion is quickly shattered, though, because as soon as Unnamed is conscious enough to listen, their friend speaks, "So, how was it?" Unidentified stares at them with clear excitement, bouncing up and down a bit where they sat.
Unnamed, still pitifully oblivious, tilts their head in confusion, "How was what?" It's Unidentified's turn to be confused, "What do you mean, 'How was what?' The job with GIGS, obviously!" Unidentified exclaims incredulously.
Unnamed's face slowly morphs into one of unbridled horror as they realize that that wasn't a dream.
The next thing they know, they've sat up, fully awake, getting up and brushing themself off. Unidentified quickly switches from excited to worried, "Unnamed, are you okay?"
Unnamed can barely recall how to string together the sounds they call language to reply, "Yeah, I uh... I just need to go report something to HQ." Before Unidentified can respond, Unnamed has rushed out the door, straightening out their attire so that they look at least somewhat presentable in front of the company's head.
They file a request for an immediate meeting with the higher-ups, stressing the importance of it. They add that it has to do with Team GIGS as an afterthought, hoping it'll peak their curiosity.
And so Unnamed sits there, standing in the lobby with pumping adrenaline as they come to terms with a stark truth:
The GIGS crew is not human.

Bonuses!
POV GIGS Before:
"Look, Grian, I know you don't wanna leave the van, but this time you have to!" Impulse tries to reason, though he knows he's fighting a losing battle.
Grian refuses to relent, gaze boring into Impulse with several Eyes, "But whyyyy?!"
Impulse lets out an exhausted sigh, he's been at this for a while, "You know why, an inspector is going to be hunting with us this time, and they're human! We have to give them van duty or else they could die in the house. Like actually die."
Grian let's out an indignant whine, his wings puffing out in defiance, "And? There's gonna be five of us, can't we both just be in the van or something?"
"Grian, you and I both know that out of everyone here, except for maybe Gem, you get along with humans the least. You don't even try to be friendly!" Impulse counters. He can see Grian's resolve beginning to falter as he continues, "You don't wanna be stuck in the van with a 'strange mortal' the whole time, do you?" He uses air quotes, trying to speak Grian's language, and it's working.
Grian visibly deflates a little bit, crossing his arms and looking away as he bites out a bitter, "no." He's staring with only two eyes now, so that's progress Impulse thinks.
Skizz finally cuts in, not having wanted to get involved when Grian was still yelling, but will now that he's somewhat calm, "Listen buddy, it's not like you've never left the van before! You do it whenever Gemstone joins us, and sometimes when a bunch of us are dead!" Skizz chuckles a bit, "It's nothin' you haven't done before, G-Sharp."
Grian fully deflates this time, tension releasing from his body as looks at his feet and heaves a sigh of his own, "Fiiiine. The stupid human can have the vaaaan." He pouts, but it's the best they're going to get so they take it.
Impulse finally lets out a breath of relief, glad that he's avoided the possible murder of their inspector. Void, he really feels like a single mom sometimes.
~•~
POV GIGS After:
Grian is most definitely driving faster than the speed limit allows, not that he particularly cares. That went horribly, the human saw Scar and Skizz revive themselves for Void's sake!
In truth, they were never really dead. They really just couldn't bend their death-related rules they set for a day, huh? He has the urge to bury his face in the steering wheel as he drives. "This is why I avoid mortals," he grumbles to himself.
~
When they arrive at their designated "ghost hunting lobby," as they call it, they all devolve into various states of stress.
Grian face-plants into sofa and screams into a throw pillow, Eyes forming and popping around his head like lava. Impulse is pacing around the room like a maniac, pointed tail swishing back and forth in distress. Scar sits on the armchair, fiddling with his cane and pushing a hand through his hair, his eyes practically stapled open, gazing into space. Skizz just kind of stands there, his tail also swishing in anxiety as he dreads the inevitable.
Scar finally shatters the silence, "Now, I don't wanna point fingers, but," he points at Skizz, "kinda your fault, Skizz." There it is, there's what Skizz was dreading.
He tries to defend himself anyways, "Alright listen, I know that most of this is my fault for signing that dumb form, but you can't deny that we all messed up at least a little bit."
Impulse stops pacing at that. Grian doesn't move from his misery on the sofa, not reacting at all.
"I- yeah, Skizz is right. We all kind of screwed up. I think our main problem was how casually we acknowledged death. It's surprisingly easy to forget that humans don't view life as a game..." Impulse rubs the back of his neck, guilty.
Skizz still looks apologetic though, "Yeah, just know I'm really sorry about that. Maybe don't put me on mail duty anymore."
Scar stands up, his skin having taken on a blue blue sheen, his edges a little sharper, and small translucent wings behind him. "It's okay man, I probably would have done the same thing," he picks up a Jellie that's winding in between his legs, "plus we both kinda revived while Unnamed was right there, so you can't take all the blame for that."
"Thanks dude, that means a lot." Skizz slings an arm over Scar's shoulder.
Grian finally sits up, "So what happens now?" All heads turn to him, their stares questioning.
Eyes have never bothered Grian, since he has more of them, so he stands up fully and elaborates, "Well, within the next few days, the company is gonna know we're not human. What exactly do we do now?" A contemplating pause followed by a sad voice, "Do we... have to quit ghost hunting?"
The room goes deathly quiet. They... didn't think about that. Even Skizz and Scar look crestfallen. It's Impulse who pipes up, "No, we don't." he says surprisingly self-assured, all eyes now on him.
Impulse continues on, "I mean, Skizz and I just kinda showed up one day and they couldn't get rid of us, them knowing what we are isn't gonna change that. How exactly would they stop us?" The crew looks a little less depressed at that.
"Plus," Impulse looks hesitant for a moment, "Unnamed's reaction to death reminded me of how fragile human life really is, so even if we're only doing this for fun," he looks to each of them, "it makes me feel like we're protecting them, even if just by taking the lethal jobs."
Skizz perks up at the notion, and Scar breaks out into a grin, waltzing over to Impulse and slinging an arm over his shoulder. Jellie wanders off to go paw at Grian, who's sat back down, still squeezing that throw pillow.
Scar has regained his aura of grandeur, as he joins Impulse in cheering them up, "Yeah, I like that! We're helping by dying where they can't!" He looks very excited at the thought.
It's Skizz's turn to join the building huddle, an arm finding it's way on Impulse's other shoulder. "Oh yeah! Good guy Skizzleman, saving mortals from the horrors of death!" He pumps a fist in the air.
Grian gets up, Jellie trailing behind, and reluctantly joins the hug, arms around Scar and Skizz and his wings around all of them. "I don't care what happens to those humans, but whatever," grian mumbles. Impulse just smiles fondly at him, because despite how he pretends not to, Impulse can see just how much Grian truly cares. He doesn't have to understand mortals to care for them.
The soft moment is interrupted by a ding from Skizz's phone. They untangle their arms as Skizz checks what it is.
He perks up excitedly, "Oh, it's our report's review for the job!" He chuckles a bit, "If one good thing came out of signing that form, it's that we now get almost instant results!"
He clicks on the email, eager to see if they guessed right. Spoiler, they did not.
"What-?!" His face contorts to one of disbelief, "A Mare-?! How?" Grian shoots up at Skizz's outburst, clearly upset.
"What-?! Yeah how-?! That thing wasn't turning off any lights!" He squawks indignantly, a few Eyes floating over Skizz's shoulder to read it himself.
Scar looks wholly unaffected, "Eh, I don't really know how we got Onryo in the first place, I was too busy being dead."
Impulse seems to slowly come to a conclusion, "Well, if you think about it, we weren't really turning the lights on to begin with," his voice picks up a bit, "We were putting so many candles out for the Onryo test, that—"
Skizz finishes, "We stopped turning on the breaker 'cause the candlelight was enough!"
None of them have to turn around to see Grian facepalming, the scream of frustration enough for them to paint that picture themselves, "I hate this game!"
Grian isn't done with his rampage, "But wait, doesn't Mare also need spirit box?" He looks to Impulse for confirmation, and continues once he gets a nod, "But I did spirit box so well though! I had great coverage."
Impulse puts up a hand placatingly, "Yeah, I agree, you did spirit box pretty good, but we were on Nightmare, so spirit box probably just probably wasn't one of the two random evidence."
Grian crosses his arms, "Or maybe it's because someone," he casts a glare at Impulse, though he means nothing malicious by it, "just had to prestige, leaving us with shoddy level 1 equipment." He sighs however, "But you're probably right. We didn't really look that hard for Ghost Writing, did we?"
He wanders off to grumble to himself a little longer, and they all laugh at Grian's pity-party. They end up sitting on sofa together for a while, just chatting about things they couldn't talk about while Unnamed was there.
Impulse is telling a story from Hermitcraft earlier that day, but he stops when Gem comes up in it, paling, "Oh Void..."
Impulse's face unravels into one of dread, a realization forming, "Gem's gonna smack us all upside the head for this." Oh. Oh no. They all shudder in unison. They're screwed.

Dazai Osamu x GN!reader
Tags— 22/ada dazai, flirting?, pre-slash, don't question why reader's given a key, reader works under ango but he's also they're dad figure, it's a whole thing, mentions of sskk though not explicitly platonic or romantic, take that as you wish, dazai's infuriating habit of burying feelings and then one day he'll die
CW/TW— dazai. (/j, none i can think of.)
note — reader's ability in this is based on one that my friend chose for our self-ship au. "Teacher of Truth by Saneatsu Mushanokoji: The user can employ tarot cards to gain insight into the past, current, and possible future situations. The user needs to know what each of the cards mean in order to properly interpret what they say." it's from a post on tumblr, but I couldn't find it for the life of me! i'll credit if i can. anyway, it's been tweaked a little so i'm here to explain. in this, reader can choose to use their ability during a reading or not, but the tarot cards are always personal to them. people they know will sometimes show in the cards if they're important to them.
Tumblr media
The next time Dazai sees you, it’s well before the ADA opens for the day. He’d admittedly had a rough night—sleep evaded him like always, and he hadn’t had dinner because of his own laziness. His futon was impossibly comfy. How was he meant to part with its loving warmth?
The Door to the agency creaks open, the sound not unlike the groan of the cafe floorboards only steps away. One of Dazai’s favorite activities was purposely seeking out the creaky floorboards and dancing on them so loud Kunikida would have to berate him, of course. He was intimately familiar with the annoying sounds this old building could make.
The office is darker than during working hours, but he notices the meager amount of lights still switched on. Distantly, he knows Kunikida would’ve blown a gasket about the electric bill if he had found them still on. He takes a step into the room-
Something rustles. Downstairs, an old radio plays a song he does not recognize. Pigeons flutter and coo from outside the window.
Somebody was in the agency, and had it been any of his fellow detectives, he’d have known.
“Hmmm, what’s this,” he mutters absently, volume low enough to alert whoever it was had decided to trespass.
”Dazai-san?” a soft voice calls, and Dazai pauses for a moment. A short, hollow sound follows—cards shuffling. He bites the inside of his cheek. How curious.
”Last I checked, you don’t clock in with the rest of us measly agents. Surely Ango’s fuming by now?” He hums, stepping into view of you. you’re sat at Atsushi’s desk, bag perched on top of Atsushi’s empty report trays. Dazai almost smirks at the sight— silly Atsushi, always rushing to complete everything in a timely manner. One day, he’d get him to turn them in later, hopefully months later- like he did.
”Hm, no. I clocked in earlier, but Ango wanted me over here early. Something about a mission I have to hand over to Fukuzawa-dono. I got a key from him last time, so I just let myself in.” you explained. Dazai pulled his own chair out and collapsed into it, peering down at what your hands were busying themselves with.
He realizes they’re tarot cards. Thick and sturdy under your fingers, you set them up neatly in front of yourself. The backs are a matte purple, decorated with silver details that glint as the sunrise light hits them for just a fraction of a second. The illustrations seem to flicker with movement, almost like snapshots of time shifting through an old camera, frame after frame.
”What’s got you so busy?” he asks, exaggeratingly leaning over to look at the cards. You laugh and smile, expression wobbly. He notes the change. You briefly shake out the bracelet laying on your wrist, almost nervously. You lay the last card on the desk’s surface. Atsushi’s cute cat clock ticks from where it’s placed near his report trays.
“I do readings for the day early in the morning, just in case. Sometimes, I don’t even use my ability.” You explain, keeping your voice low so as not to break the morning peace. Dazai glances at the cat clock. Soon, the secretaries and Kunikida will clock in and begin their work day. He focuses back on you and grins, intrigued.
“Anxious, then? I guess the ability to see the future will do that to ‘ya.” Dazai sighed, crossing his legs and resting his chin on his hand. He was content to watch you finish setting the cards down in a formation he admittedly did not understand.
” What does that one mean?” he says, pointing to one of the cards. Its flickering surface shows a woman with mint-colored hair pulled up into a bun. Behind her, there’s a black mass, and she seems to be standing in a graveyard. There are two Xs at the top of the card. You redirect your attention to the card he’s hovering his finger over and smile.
”That’s Judgment—renewal, reflection, awakening, or reckoning. For a personal reading, it would mean going through a period of self-evaluation or maybe even trying to understand the people around you and your situation more.” You explain, seemingly done with the spread and setting down the other cards nearby. Dazai purses his lips.
”Sounds gloomy. Lame!” He huffs, upset by his choice. you gasp and narrow your eyes.
”Don’t call them lame! You’ll piss them off, Dazai.” You hiss, smacking him on the arm. Dazai grins and leans closer, smile growing coy.
”Really now? And how exactly does one do that?” Dazai prods. You stick your tongue out and cross your arms.
“Not telling. Now shut up and let me do my reading.” You grumble, eyes flicking over the cards. Dazai whines and throws himself forward, almost shoving you off of Atsushi’s chair.
”Dude!” You yelp, hands scrambling to grasp his coat as he rights himself. Dazai grabs you by the shoulders and shakes, intent on being the biggest possible nuisance.
”That’s boring! Do your reading laterrrr; it won’t matter, right? Ne- do a reading for me! I wanna know my future,” He begs, grinning. You blink and scowl, pushing him away.
”First off, it would matter. Doing a reading later would be a completely different outcome. Just wait. All I have to do is interpret these. I’ll do yours after.” You grumble, adjusting their sleeves and settling back into the chair. Dazai harrumphs but settles into his own chair to watch you silently read the cards.
You focus back on the cards, and Dazai settles himself by watching you idly. You’re dressed in what you always wear to work, but it’s casual enough to know doubt have been breaking the dress code had you not been working under Ango for so long.  There’s a small scrunch to your nose as you focus on your task, and Dazai can spot how you run your tongue over your teeth in thought. Dazai looks away pointedly. Taking a few breaths, he forcibly clears his mind. How odd.
”Okay, done.” You hum, straightening and starting to pick up the cards. He shifts so his whole body is faced toward you. You take gentle care of the cards, putting them back into the deck.
”Why do they flicker like that? You aren’t using your ability,” he asks, curious about the shifting images on the cards. You shrug.
”Don’t know. It happens no matter what deck I use, though I prefer using this one. The images just shift into the same ones most of the time, though some have changed over time.” You explain, shuffling the cards. Dazai reaches out and hovers over your hand before poking the back of it gently. You let him despite knowing the outcome.
The images on the cards still lying on the table flicker, completely uninterrupted, even as Dazai feels the shiver of his ability eating away at yours. He hums and pulls away. He hadn’t been paying attention when he jostled you earlier, but you were right- they were unaffected.
”Strange, but not unheard of. Some ability effects aren’t considered active enough for my ability to erase.” Dazai says, allowing you to continue. you finish and present him with the deck, pulling away when he goes to take them.
”Don’t be mean to them. They’ll be mean to you. You can’t even think anything negative; they’ll know. You’re gonna cut the deck in 3, okay? We’ll do a simple reading.” you explain, and only once Dazai agrees (crosses his heart and hopes to die!) is he gently handed the cards.
”What do you want to read? We can focus on love, or money, or your career, things like that.” You say. Dazai ponders for a moment before sniffing, mouth settled into a pompous pout.
”I want to know if someone will finally be interested in a double suicide with me.” He huffs. You scoff.
”You’re insane. Okay, so love. Think about that while you cut them.” You nod, giving him the go-ahead. He runs his fingers over the well-loved edges and slots his thumbs through the deck where it feels right, setting the individual cuts down on the desk before them. He tries to take it as seriously as possible, though thinking about love has always made him squirm and itch beneath his skin.
You reach over once he’s done and clear your throat, carefully picking the top cards on each deck and laying them out in front of him. On the left, the first card flipped is a wheel, seemingly in the sky and surrounded by clouds. The clouds float by calmly, though Dazai can’t find anything particularly personal to you the way some of the other cards would show.
It’s made a little more difficult considering the card’s orientation- upside down.
You hum at it before moving on. The card in the middle is revealed, and this one piques his interest. He grins a little at the image. Two figures hold goblets in their hands, strings of power rising from the cups and meeting above their heads to form a Yin and Yang sign. The figures are startingly familiar- one dark-haired, the other light-haired. Accents in their hair match each other, silver and black clashing and melding nicely. This one’s facing right-side up. The image flickers to show the energy that swirls around, occasionally circling their respective holders.
The last one flicks onto the wooden desk with a hollow sound. The image is soft, not unlike the first one with the blue sky. A sun takes up the upper half, rays pronounced against the sky. Ttheire’s a little kid in the illustration, their beaming face scrunched up in happiness. There’s a flag clutched in one hand, with the other gripping onto the mane of the white horse they’re perched upon. Sunflowers frame them, peaking over the illustrated garden wall behind them.
It’s an endlessly endearing picture, and from the smile, he has a feeling he knows who it is. Like the last one, it’s right-side up.
You settle your chin against your palm, leaning on the table with a hum.
”That’s….a really nice reading, actually.” You move to point at the cards. Dazai sits patiently with his hands on his lap. Nothing more fascinating than seeing someone in their element, he supposed.
”That first one is The Wheel of Fortune. Upside down, it’s a little darker. It represents your past,” you pause, looking at him for a moment. “I think for you, it’s focused on the feeling of helplessness—lack of power or control…like you had love but couldn’t control how and when you lost it,” you say, your voice soft. Dazai fights to ignore the discomfort building in his throat.
”Well, what can I say? My dark past haunts me,” he bemoans, and you huff a soft laugh. You move on to the next card- the cups. You look a little embarrassed by this one.
”This one is the present. Two cups represent…well, partnership. More specifically, the realization of a new partnership. This one can be pretty romantic. I guess you’ve got something to look forward to soon,” you say, pointedly ignoring the images of his two kohais. He grins, sparing you of the teasing. He didn’t know how well you even knew Akutagawa- but it was amusing to see everyone could see what those two denied vehemently.
”The last one is the future. You got The Sun, which is actually really sweet.” Through your embarrassment, Dazai watches a sweet smile grow on your face. He matches it easily.
“It means joy and success, for you in particular. It means…whatever or whoever your two cups is for, you’ll be very happy together.” You say, and Dazai sighs wistfully.
”Maybe someone will finally want to commit suicide with me! This news might keep me alive a day longer just yet,” Dazai coos. You groan and take a deep breath, seemingly ignoring him as you duck your head down and then start to put the cards back.
”You better hope you didn’t piss this deck off, Dazai.” you huff, glaring. Dazai pouts, cradling his face in his hands.
“What?! I followed all your rules; I would never,” he whines. You flip him off and busily tuck the cards into a soft leather pouch. He lets his hands drop and watches for a moment.
”Thanks for the reading,” Dazai says, his voice back to normal. You glance at him and smile.
”Yeah, no problem. It’s nice to read without my ability once in a while,” you admit, expression soft. He grins. Something stirs in his chest.
”You can read me whenever you want, lovely.” He purrs jokingly. You startle, flushing. You glare and kick him with your foot.
”Don’t say shit like that,” you mutter. Dazai whines out a laugh, having settled on teasing you until he could see the smoke coming out your ears.
Before he could continue, the door creaks open, and the overhead lights flick on. Multiple people come shuffling in, and Dazai can hear Kunikida conversing lowly with Fukuzawa. The secretaries also file in, chattering contently amongst themselves. Fukuzawa and Kunkida pause only to greet them both. you wave politely, and Dazai salutes them both.
you blink your eyes to adjust to the light now flooding the room. Dazai huffs and stands with a groan.
”Alright, I’ve got five minutes to get out of here. You’ll be going in to see Shachou, right?” He asks, stretching. you stand and nod, giving him a look.
”Where are you going?” you ask, picking up your bag. He groans at the way his back pops as he rights himself from his stretching.
”Home. I only came here 'cause I was bored. But in the long run, it’ll be a lot funnier if Kunikida’s mad all morning when I don’t show up~” He snickers. you shake your head, a smile pulling at your mouth.
“You’re so lame. See you, then.” You sighed, heading down the hall Kunikida and Fukuzawa had disappeared down.
”And yet you love me. ‘Till we meet again,” he calls, pointedly ignoring the yell you let out.
”Whatever!” you yelped, and Dazai let the agency door click closed behind him.
He grins. Curious indeed.

Reading - debunking many rumours, stop believing sensational revelations coming from bad agendas
I wanted to do a check in on the multiple rumours around Catherine's health to see whether any one of them could be true.
I used Ethereal Visions Tarot because it is beautiful and seems to suit Catherine's princess of hearts energy very very well. I also decided up front my questions and that I would not read RX. It is a five card reading with underlying energy.
Tumblr media
What is the current situation with Catherine's health?
8 swords - she is still restricted. Potentially still on bed rest and no strenuous activity.
Are any of the multiple rumours true?
3 Wands - this is waiting for your ships to come in. It is hopeful for positive returns. So I am going to say the possibility exists that at least one rumour is close to the truth yet we won't hear about for a while. We are in for a wait.
Which of the rumours is potentially close to the truth?
Ace of Cups - an emotional new beginning, happy offers of love and cup runneth over energy. Enjoying motherhood. Falling in love, passion, new partnerships, success in a new venture or creative project. Spiritual growth and joy in living each and every day. Love, kindness, good friends and good times. I know there are those that will shout about its other significance. I am not going to put it in words.
What about her health is hidden energy?
6 pentacles - traditionally a card of charity and either being a benefactor to others or receiving financial support from a benefactor. It is also a card of give and take. Doing something good and kind and beneficial for many even if it means sacrificing something yourself. Or doing something selfless or difficult.
What is the outcome?
8 pentacles - reward for hard work. This will be positive and life changing or life affirming for Catherine. It will pay off handsomely. It is also 8 years. (Wands/days, swords/weeks, cup/month, pentacles/years). So expect the results and the outcome after at least 8 years. Are we getting a timing on accession here?
Underlying energy:
The Hierophant - a spiritual experience, reaching a level of higher consciousness. Lots of support, self realisation and expansion. Also institutions and values and a spiritual leader. Tuning into your moral compass and doing what is right even if it is difficult. Also a committed marriage in respect of relationships. In terms of home it means expanding your current property. And in terms of career positive progress, growth, a new direction, and being an inspired leader.
Conclusion:
At least one of the rumours is close to the truth. But we can eliminate: divorce as there is no King of Swords, alcoholism no 9 cups, eating disorders no 10 wands, domestic violence no fives, a shooting accident no 5 swords, marriage break up because this marriage is stronger than ever because of The Hierophant, no lack of support from the family because this is all happy supportive energy and there is no 5 wands, infidelity because there is no heartbreak 3 swords here and no cheating 7 swords energy, and no running away because there's no evasive or moving away energy like 6 swords. There is also no loss cards, no sadness because there is no 5 cups or 5 of pentacles, no regrets because there is no 8 cups, and no 9 or 10 of swords so no mental breakdown or ending or destroyed reputation, and no hysterectomy because the Ace of Cups showed up. So I think that eliminates quite definitively all the worse rumours that are coming from bad agendas.
So you decide which rumour could be close to the truth....
I don't see bad things here. I see routine abdominal surgery and a lengthy recovery from a surgical process. 8 swords. And potentially removal of a troublesome organ the 6 pentacles. Pentacles are to do with body. It would have to be organs you can live without like appendix, gall bladder or spleen or maybe a kidney. Alternatively a repair to an organ e.g removal of gall stones or kidney stones.
So let's stop falling for the bad agendas.
I drew the next card. Six of Wands. The Victory card! Go back to my Catherine has Won reading. What this tells me is that just by staying away she has broken the internet! Lol! I predict she will break it more when she comes back.

How Can I Get Closer to Becoming Successful? Pick-a-Card Reading
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Fool The Empress The Hierophant
Reading suggestion from @enderwood-township
Pile 1 - The Fool
Cards
The Empress
Knight of Pentacles
Judgement
For this pile I feel that you tend to view everything as the end all be all, if you happen to fail at something you feel as if it is the end of the world. Not realizing that failures are just lessons, it can let you know things such as what you need to improve or if you might want to consider leaving something alone entirely. Failures are just teaching you about yourself, not saying that you are done for. Allowing yourself to sit in your feminine and self nurturing energy (I know not everyone assigns gender to energy so take it as you will) might be best for you at this time. With the knight of pentacles I feel like you are starting to see some improvements in success as far as finances go but be sure to take time to relax and listen to your intuition. Be mindful of those times where you are forcing rather than flowing. Forcing can actually cause upheaval not advancement.
Pile 2 - The Empress
Cards
Justice
Four of Cups
The Tower
For this pile I hear the phrase "it's time to jump ship" if there is anything that you feel is no longer serving you, it's probably because that's the case. It could be a job that you're just not satisfied with or a relationship that no matter how you try just won't work. Whatever the case, now might is the time to consider leaving because it could be causing you to miss out on opportinities. Sometimes holding on to something that isn't for you disrupts and redirects the energy of what is for you, pushing it farther away. This pile must be philosophical because I am also hearing "what you seek is just behind what you fear." I know, very mystical and ominous right? With the justice card I feel like when you let go of what is no longer for you is when things will start to balance themselves out for you. You won't feel like you're torn between two different things and have to chose one or the other in order to be successful. Once again for this pile the idea of success can either be associated with your profession or a relationship.
Pile 3 - The Hierophant
Cards
Death (Reversed)
Five of Swords
The Moon
I feel like this pile has an issue with self worth and still sees themselves through the lens of who they used to be. And you feel like no matter what you do you can't be successful because you still aren't seeing yourself for who you really are. You are not the same person you used to be, you do not have to fight with yourself anymore. I feel like acknowledging just how far you've come. And how much work you've put into becoming a better version of yourself will help aid you in becoming more successful as well as realizing it's never to late to accomplish your goals.
Note for all piles: Please only do what you feel comfortable with and make sure that all the decisions you make are ones that will work for you.

Exploring the Depths of Wands Arcana

Introduction to Wands Arcana
In the realm of the arcana, the wand symbolizes our momentum, willpower, drive, and even our disposition. It embodies the heat of the game, represented by a courageous cudgel or baton, akin to that of a warrior. The wand is not just a physical tool but a conduit for magical forces and energies. It signifies the pursuit of victory and the path to becoming the best, the first, the great hero. Additionally, it represents the dynamics of conflicts and disputes, making it the suit of war.
Disclaimer: The way I learned to read tarot cards does not involve the use of upright and reversed positions. Instead, they rely on their symbology, positive and negative meanings, and the readings depend more on the spread rather than whether the card is upright or reversed. Also, the Court Cards will also have its separate post and I'm using Rider-Waite as reference.
Tumblr media
Ace of Wands
Symbolism:
The Ace of Wands ignites the spark within us, the very essence that sets things in motion. Just like a spark requires oxygen and fuel, this arcane speaks of taking what you have and transforming it into something extraordinary. It embodies a profound impetus, comparable to a roaring rocket or a sudden burst of energy. It signifies an intense desire to act, and the card depicts a vibrant, living wood emerging from the ground, symbolizing the manifestation of our willpower.
Positive Interpretation:
This card radiates the energy of the present moment, urging us to seize the opportunities that surround us. It represents the strength of now, urging us to take what we possess and embark on our chosen path. It symbolizes the energy of combustion and encourages us to take the reins of the situation and make things happen. It marks the beginning, fueled by the courage, willpower, and forward movement required for a successful startup.
Negative Interpretation:
The negative aspect of the Ace of Wands warns against impatience, anxiety, and the tendency to rush into action prematurely. It advises the cultivation of calmness and patience. It may also indicate a misguided and aggressive approach, lacking the necessary elements to produce a fruitful outcome. It serves as a reminder of the importance of courage and the perils of succumbing to fear.
2 of Wands
Symbolism:
While the Ace of Wands represents the spark, the 2 of Wands represents the fuel that sustains that energy. The card depicts a figure holding a wand with a globe, symbolizing the potential of the initial spark, while another wand stands behind. This card signifies the interplay between forward momentum and the supporting elements. It prompts us to understand the nature of fire and its inherent oscillations.

The 2 of Wands signifies having the necessary support and resources to pursue our goals, dreams, and desires. It highlights the ability to handle existing responsibilities while pushing boundaries and reaching new heights. It advocates for a balance between action and rest, and it emphasizes the power of collaboration and partnerships.
Negative Interpretation:
In its negative aspect, the 2 of Wands warns of obstacles and limitations that hinder progress. It suggests the challenge of multitasking and the inability to fully devote oneself to multiple endeavors. It reflects the notion of being spread too thin, resulting in a lack of fuel to sustain the desired outcomes. It may also indicate conflicts and opposition, both external and self-imposed.

It embodies courage, dynamism, and a desire to travel and explore distant places. It represents a yearning to go beyond your current boundaries and expand your universe. The 3 of Wands heralds great adventures and significant decisions in your life.

In its negative aspect, the 3 of Wands warns against recklessly pursuing any adventure without grounding yourself. It cautions against constant restlessness and a perpetual dissatisfaction that drives you to expend energy without finding fulfillment. It can indicate an avoidance of responsibilities and impulsive actions without careful consideration. It may lead to entanglements and turning away from the present and the future, ultimately causing a sense of being lost. It may also represent distant and unreachable relationships.

The negative aspect of the 4 of Wands brings a sense of instability. It suggests difficulties in organizing events, unions, or collaborative efforts. The energies may be in friction, leading to feuds, discord, disputes, or excessive competitiveness. The uncontrolled nature of the bonfire can prevent the realization of desired events or outcomes.
5 of Wands

In the desire to be a superhero, the 5 of Wands engage in a fierce battle. It represents an attempt to showcase courage and strength, even if the ultimate goal of becoming a champion remains elusive. It denotes situations of intense rivalry and opposing forces. It warns of stumbling blocks, disrupted sexuality, feuds, and the destructive energies associated with uncontrolled fire.
6 of Wands
Symbolism:
The 6 of Wands represents the triumph of fire, the ability to solve problems through victory. It signifies the first attempt of the suit to become a hero. In the card, five sticks raise the sixth one, symbolizing the glorification of achievement. The white horse represents nobility, while the laurel wreath symbolizes victory.

This card embodies glory, success, and the recognition of one's achievements. It signifies being seen, acknowledged, and validated by others for your accomplishments. It represents overcoming problems, obstacles, and surpassing predetermined limitations. It is associated with great leadership and the ability to break barriers.

In its negative aspect, the 6 of Wands announces the triumph of others while experiencing personal loss. It can indicate threats, violence, and the imposition of one's will in a way that instills fear in others. It may evoke a sense of surveillance, imprisonment, and a false sense of victory and conquest.
7 of Wands
Symbolism:
The 7 of Wands spiritualizes the fire element, representing the inner fire that emanates from the soul and the seven chakras. It embodies the process of overcoming oneself and becoming a protector. It symbolizes great resilience and the ability to believe in oneself. In the card, a figure wields a bat, facing off against six others.

This card signifies the presence of energy, confidence, and necessary faith. It represents the momentum required to overcome obstacles. It is also associated with the spiritual realm and the guidance and protection of mentors. It represents a well-directed energy field where obstacles become stepping stones for progress.
Negative Interpretation:
In its negative aspect, the 7 of Wands represents individuals who are skittish and easily succumb to fear. It can manifest as fear transformed into aggression, creating a defensive and impenetrable shell. In the spiritual realm, it signifies energetic opposition and an inability to measure one's own strength.
8 of Wands
Symbolism:
The 8 of Wands symbolizes energy in motion, akin to the accelerating tail of a rocket. In the card, the open sky represents the vast expanse where such immense energy can flourish. This card signifies acceleration, movement, and the hastening of circumstances. It embodies the will to manifest dreams and desires relentlessly.
Positive Interpretation:
This card represents a powerful surge toward success and progress. It indicates new paths and abundant possibilities. It symbolizes the unfolding of wings to navigate through challenges. It signifies the presence of light, the advent of glory, and the imminent arrival of salvation. It encourages acceleration, speed, and the determination to reach goals.
Negative Interpretation:
In its negative aspect, the 8 of Wands warns against aimless acceleration and the wasteful expenditure of energy. It signifies a failure to hit the intended target and an excessive use of energy without purpose or direction. It may represent disorientation and unbalanced energy, going too fast and engaging in unscrupulous acts to achieve one's goals. It can also symbolize attacks or acts of aggression resembling arrows.
9 of Wands
Symbolism:
The 9 of Wands represents reaching the ember, a point where all available energy is needed for a specific purpose. In the card, eight sticks are shown protruding, while the ninth stick is held by the figure, signifying readiness for action.
Positive Interpretation:
This card embodies responsibility for one's actions and the ability to accomplish the seemingly impossible. It signifies the ability to undertake great works and face numerous challenges with unwavering self-belief and a sense of responsibility. It represents the strength that arises from discipline, determination, and accumulated experience. It also acknowledges the effort exerted in the face of weariness.
Negative Interpretation:
In its negative aspect, the 9 of Wands can represent the forceful subjugation of others or becoming enslaved by one's responsibilities. It may indicate carrying burdens that are heavier than one can bear, leading to dark accomplishments and projects that fail due to lack of energy. It warns against irresponsibility, using limited energy solely for personal gain, and experiencing exhaustion or excessive excitement that cannot be calmed.
10 of Wands
Symbolism:
The 10 of Wands signifies the fulfillment of the desire to become a great hero. It represents mastering oneself and one's own world. In the card, a lone figure carries the weight of the entire suit, symbolizing great strength and immense effort.
Positive Interpretation:
This card represents the realization of aspirations and the embodiment of bravery and nobility. It signifies the ability to take on numerous tasks and responsibilities, akin to setting fire to the rain. It denotes the capability to handle everything that comes your way, overcoming obstacles with an abundance of spiritual energy.
Negative Interpretation:
In its negative aspect, the 10 of Wands warns against attempting to do everything independently, resulting in the centralization of activities and overwhelming oneself. It signifies the burden of excessive effort, encountering significant problems or attacks, and facing formidable opponents. It may suggest experiencing energy spikes that the physical body cannot sustain and encountering difficulties in working collaboratively or as part of a collective. It cautions against reverse leadership or assuming excessive control.

COMMISSIONS OPEN!!
Hey! I'm doing what I've always felt guilty about doing since I started drawing (and was always too afraid to do since I spent so long convincing myself my art wasn't worth anything)--
I'm opening commissions!
Tumblr media
I've just recently found myself and my family in need of some extra money, especially when it comes to my father's medical bills, and my application fees for university. I'm currently not employed either because of school and my own disabilities. So, no pressure whatsoever! I just would to have some extra income so I can both be self-sustaining and help my father, because the odd jobs I pick up and the $2-5 tarot readings aren't exactly covering it (said tarot readings are also available, dm if interested!).
Don't worry, my fees are modest :)

MESSAGES FOR THE SIGNS (09.20.22-09.27.22) Sun/Moon/Rising
ARIES—Don't put off that idea any longer! It's time to take action. Spread your wings, or jump ship. You'll know what it is. You can only dwell in the past for so long. There's no turning back now. TAURUS—You're trying harder than you need to be, placing yourself in a mess that isn't even yours. Loosen the grip. Cut the cords. You have greater opportunity waiting... GEMINI—They like you, OKAY. Stay in your power. Whatever it is you're waiting on or desiring, it's on its way. Remember your inner truth and focus on that. You are worthy and you have all the resource you need. CANCER—Holding back communication? If you feel it, let it be known. Yes, it's that easy. You may feel like you don't hold the power in this situation, but you do. Your heart is ready, but your mind paints a sad picture. Let it clear, and trust that the light will seep in. LEO—It's not your season, but it's your season, isn't it Leo? You're the embodiment of resilience, perseverance, and abundance. People can see this and are inspired by you now. Let it shine!!! VIRGO—It's a lifelong practice Virgo, but you need to let that shit go. The negative self-talk, the judgement, the worry, the stress, the frustration with everything and everyone around you. Take a moment to give gratitude and center yourself. LIBRA—The pain, grief, or isolation you're experiencing or feeling will pass. It's okay to feel it and not have to figure it out. You'll re-emerge soon enough, and even more radiant. SCORPIO—You have your eye on the prize. The dream, the vision, it's getting clearer and clearer and some days you feel stuck, because it seems so far away. The path has been cleared. Let yourself rest when you need to. SAGITTARIUS—You're not sure what's next, but you're being asked to slow down and do the little things, maybe do nothing at all, maybe take a day to walk in the park and stare at the clouds. Let yourself dream for inspiration. CAPRICORN—You hold the key already. You've secured the spot. You have earned your rightful place on the throne. Sometimes you forget you've done so much and don't take a moment to acknowledge where you are. Continue trusting the work you've set out to do. AQUARIUS—You're recognizing your worth, and you're rooting down into your source of creativity, passion, and love and nothing or no one will stand in your way. You're honoring yourself now, Aquarius. Remember to stay soft as you do, so as not to create dissonance in your relationships.
PISCES—Whatever is falling away is making space for a much better opportunity. And even if it's something inside of you, you're re-birthing a better version. There may be some indecision, but trust that what comes in is offering you stability and happiness. It'll all move in very quickly.

What are you so desperately trying to run away from?
Trigger Warning: One of the three readings contains mention of self-harm. Proceed with caution.
Tumblr media
<<Pile 1>>
Tumblr media
Your cards: 9 of Swords, 3 of Wands, 2 of Swords Rx
You are running from a decision that is long due. This decision is an important one. The course of your life will change because of it. This decision can be related to study, travel, business enterprise or moving home. It is stressful for you to make such a decision. You may lose sleep or have headaches because of it. I can see that you have two options before you. Both have pros and cons equally. And you don't know how to choose.
<<Pile 2>>
Tumblr media
Your cards: 4 of Wands Rx, Ace of Wands, The Hierophant Rx
Okay, there are two interpretations for this pile. 1) If we stick with the meanings of the cards from the traditional Rider Wait tarot, you are running away from a romantic commitment. Someone ignites sexual attraction in you. But you only want to only want a sexual relationship with him or her. You don't see yourself getting into a committed romantic relationship with him or her. 2) But if we interpret the cards according to the meanings in this particular deck, you are running away from a spiritual awakening. Recently you have a brand new prospective for spirituality. You are that type of people who only see pick a pile reading as pastime. You are reluctant to systemically learn about spirituality or commit to a spiritual life.
<<Pile 3>>
Tumblr media
Your cards: Ace of Swords, 5 of Wands Rx, 7 of Swords, 7 of Cups Rx, 10 of Pentacles
Oh dear... Ace of Swords in this deck is the self-harm card. Sigh... I can see that you are struggling heavily at the moment. You are involved in a conflict that is getting increasingly out of hand. You would like to sneak away from all the drama. This conflict leads you to feel hopeless for your future. It feels like all the dreams you once had are now unattainable. Most important of all is your dream of building a family that is financial well-off, stable, and has a good reputation in the neighbourhood. However, that ship has sailed. Please, I beg you, don't hurt yourself. Please seek help in your community if you are struggling.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Tarot Deck Review: Major Arcana
A year after I pre-ordered it and five months after it was supposed to ship, I finally have my hands on the Official Buffy The Vampire Slayer Tarot Deck! I'll post five reviews, this one for the major arcana and four more, one for each suite (Stakes, Scythes, Chalices, and Pentacles).
I'll do my best to provide images of every card and copy down relevant snippets from the guidebook. I'll also be comparing the iconography and description of each card with more classic, established tarot meanings, most of which will probably be influenced by the decks I actively use and read off of, but I did do some outside research for other decks and their guidebooks. Obviously, Tarot is very subjective and most of this is my opinion. If my nerdy geeking out about Tarot at all interests you, the full review is under the read more.

0: The Fool
The Fool Card is Xander because, of course, it is. Season One Xander as well, based on his colorful shirt. This is very much inspired by the Rider-Waite imagery of the fool about to take a misstep and tumble into the unknown. Both because it represents Xander at the beginning of his journey and literally depicts him about to step into an open grave. The Fool represents the beginning of a journey or the path to personal development, both apt for this early Xander. The guidebook explanation for the fool upright is pretty consistent with my past experience in tarot. It differs for the reverse. Reversed Fool usually indicates, in my experience, immaturity or being in a state of needing that journey and emotional growth. The negative side of being a fool, so to speak. Which I personally think could apply to early Xander. But the guidebook says Reversed Fool represents a need for caution or that there's danger ahead. I kind of think Reversed Fool means the opposite; it means you need to go on a journey (while Upright Fool signifies you are already on that journey). I still think Xander is a great choice for this card, though.
I: The Magician
The Magician is a Season 3-esque Willow in the middle of her Wicca phase, happily performing a ritual. Again heavy inspiration from RW tarot iconography, particularly with the lemniscate (infinity). In my experience, Upright Magician signifies limitless potential, and the card itself can mean many things in context (creativity, self-confidence, ambition, opportunity) depending on the reading. The BTVS guidebook is more narrow, speaking about motivations and goals and "conducting oneself mindfully," which works for Willow in context. Still, I'm not sure is always so applicable to The Magician. The Magician Reversed in the guidebook, however, is pretty consistent with traditional interpretations. It means that there is an obstacle and highlights the importance of self-reflection to discover the best path forward.
II: The High Priestess
It's Tara, duh. I'm really glad I agree with this deck's authors that so many of these character archetypes fit. Again, a lot of RW iconography with the pomegranates and the hat. The crystals and the cameo from Miss Kitty are a nice touch, too, to make this card more Tara. The upright explanation is pretty on par with what I'm used to - mystery, spirituality, wisdom, etc. The reverse is more specific for Tara, who speaks about her family and how she lets the opinions of others be an obstacle. Again, that's a very specific reading for Reversed Priestess. I usually like a more general interpretation that there's some kind of conflict between your personal life and your work toward enlightenment; it could be your friends or family. Still, it could also be some personal flaw or your job or finances. So the "just be yourself!" advice that the guidebook implies for Reversed Priestess is not always applicable, in my opinion.
III: The Empress
It's Drusilla, you guys!!! Traditionally The Empress card is painted as whoever the current queen was (usually to avoid religious persecution in Renaissance Europe), so I feel like Drusilla is apt because she is The Queen in my heart. She represents the divine feminine and also mother nature (kind of ironic for a woman who whatever she puts in the ground withers and dies). But I actually like it. Mother nature is known for her unpredictability, capable of fertility and destruction in equal measure. And I feel like that is apt for Dru. Upright Empress is the nurturing side of mother nature, and Reversed Empress is the destructive side. This is why it's a little strange to me that the BTVS guidebook says Upright Drusilla is both, and Reversed Drusilla means... you need self-care?
IV: The Emperor
BUFFY ANNE SUMMERS ON A THRONE LIKE SHE DESERVES. It's also really interesting to me that so many people have written fantastic media analyses about how the slayer represents masculinity, and Buffy's struggle with it can be a metaphor for queerness. And now, they give Buffy the card that represents divine masculinity (I know not everyone vibes with the gender essentialism in traditional tarot, and I try to ignore that, too, but the Emperor is one card where I can't ignore it). Also, Buffsilla nation, rise! As for the analysis, the Emperor is the leader, representing cosmic enlightenment and ultimate power, which definitely works for Buffy. The Upright in the guidebook favors this interpretation, but the Reversed explanation is a little odd to me. My experience is the reversed Emperor is the downside of power and is a warning about arrogance and advice for humility. The Buffy Guidebook says the opposite, interpreting Reversed Emperor as being in a position without power and encouraging someone to fight back and stay true to their convictions. It works in the context of Buffy's character, and I don't necessarily dislike that reading, but I'm not familiar with it in my understanding of Tarot.
V: The Hierophant
The Hierophant represents practical lessons, the study of natural law, and the search for knowledge, which fits this face, Rupert Giles. The iconography for the Hierophant is based on Melchezidek and Rabbinic teachings and passing down knowledge. Admittedly, I can't speak to the cultural context of that, but I think Giles fits fairly well for the general interpretations. This is actually the best card so far in my agreement with the guidebook. The Reversed Giles is basically Ripper, according to the guidebook, and Reversed Hierophant usually represents rebellion and ignoring tradition, so I think it fits perfectly.
Tumblr media
VI: The Lovers
I am SO RELIEVED that this card is Tara/Willow. First of all, I'm so happy to see my favorite Lesbians in an archetypal role usually given to Adam and Eve. Secondly, it fits so well with what I interpret The Lovers to represent (no hate for the other relationships but metaphorically, none fit better than this one). I never consider it a purely romantic card but rather the struggle of choice. Choosing pleasure and happiness over other things like spiritual enlightenment or social acceptance, which I believe perfectly encapsulates their relationship. The reverse usually means resistance, resentment, and division. The guidebook agrees with my interpretation pretty consistently for The Lovers and does a great job putting a Tillow spin on the explanation.
VII: The Chariot.
It's Cordelia! Traditionally the Chariot Represents a victorious hero being paraded through the streets in triumph. It signifies a warrior and represents empowerment and achievement. I think Cordelia is a perfect choice for this one! Her journey in BTVS seasons 1-3 is from becoming a spoiled mean girl to a seasoned hero in her own right, a journey that only expands in ATS (seasons 4-5 didn't happen, fight me). The reversed chariot is a call to action, a reminder to move forward and overcome. The guidebook also agrees with me here, although it uses some strange wording to do so, including "inner Cry-Buffy" and"spank your inner moppet." I know they're references, but it can get a little awkward.
VIII: Strength
Dawn Summers, I love you! And I love this card! Strength is usually depicted by a woman taming a lion, representing the ability to control and refine what is considered indomitable and wild. Therefore, it's rarely a card of physical strength, but rather mental/emotional/spiritual strength, and indicates a strong will above all else. I love this for Dawn, and I feel it can be particularly apt in the context she's an uncontrollable thing (the Key) refined in human form. Strength reversal is more of an inability to access those traits, either via a position of powerlessness or internally lacking the will or spiritual strength to achieve your goals. The guidebook, for the most part, agrees with my upright interpretation ("Like Dawn, you are extraordinary," so true, guidebook) but says the reverse is an omen of impending doom, which again just is a little off, in my opinion. I feel like any time you imply a tarot card has an absolute objective meaning about the future, especially, you're in dangerous Tarot-tory.
IX: The Hermit
It's Oz, my beloved! Right off the bat, it does lean into some of the traditional imagery here again, with a streetlamp instead of a lantern. One thing that is Oz-specific is the large full moon in the background and the cool electric guitar. The Hermit card is all about the journey to enlightenment and self-reflection, and introspection in general. Sometimes it means the need for solitude and letting go of worldly attachments to best facilitate that journey. Kind of perfect for Oz, right? The Reverse, then, is resistance to this journey, whether it's a personal unwillingness or worldly attachments getting in the way. All of that, by the way, the guidebook is pretty consistent. I think the only interpretation of Reversed Hermit I've seen that wasn't included is when self-imposed isolation and solitude are actually an escape from what needs doing rather than a way to facilitate it.
X: The Wheel of Fortune
The Slayer Cycle and Sineya again are perfect imagery for the Wheel of Change, which represents the inevitable cycle of change. When Upright, the card signifies the height of the cycle, which is usually positive fortune, spiritual clarity, or luck. The Reversed is the depths of the cycle and is a misfortune, failure, or a lack of control. But it is also the beginning of a new cycle and can be a call to action to renew oneself or start on a new path. I'm a little conflicted about the guidebook's explanation because I like it in the context of the BTVS narrative but not so much for the archetypes and imagery of Tarot. The guidebook says that the Upright Wheel is about being trapped within your fate and needing to accept a situation that is out of your control. Reversed Wheel is about accountability, learning from the past, and breaking the cycle. I think it's fitting for BTVS and the Slayers that the Wheel of Fortune isn't inevitable and can be broken, but that's the complete opposite of what it traditionally means in Tarot. Also, I don't like how they used Hebrew lettering for the Wheel of Fortune, a la Rider-Waite, and then blocked or obscured half of the letters.
XI: Justice
Angel being the face of Justice actually works really well, in my opinion. The fundamental meaning of Justice is "karma," or the balance of actions and consequences. I think no character has this more important to their journey than Angel. I also think it's interesting the card has him holding a double-edged blade which usually means either clarity or the execution of judgment. However, the scales of balance and the crown of Solomon are printed on tombstones. It's almost like saying Angel is the hand of justice, he is on the journey toward righteousness, honor, truth, and balance, but he is not the arbitrator. Justice Reversed usually indicates falsehood, abuse, lies, or imbalance in general, which the guidebook explains as "more Angelus than Angel lately." For the most part, this card fits really well, and I'm happy about it.
Tumblr media
XII: The Hanged Man
Spike is the Hanged Man, and it's a perfect characterization. The Hanged Man is all about a trial, awaiting judgment, and holding one's energy in meditation until a resolution comes, usually one which will bring significant change. It is also about sacrifice. Per traditional imagery, Spike is upside-down with his legs crossed in a 4 and his hands "restrained." It works really well for Spike because he is a character that embodies constant change and self-discovery, which I think later transforms into an inevitable sacrifice. Reversed Hanged Man is then more about unwillingness to change, false prophecy, useless sacrifice or an otherwise empty gesture, or self-denial. I do think this fits Spike, but I don't think I agree with the guidebook when it says Reversed Spike means you need to stop stalling and "jump into the fray." Usually, when I see Reversed Hanged Man, I give the opposite advice that this is a time for patience and not rash action.
XIII: Death
Death as a card is fundamentally about change. And not little changes, but huge, monumental changes. It's about transformation fundamentally, and classical imagery used the reaper because of his association with the Harvest and the passage of the seasons. That's why I'm not so sure I like the Gentleman who is the face of Death. Yes, they're essential "reapers" in their own way, but how in Buffy did they facilitate necessary transformative change? Taking people's voices away? I don't know. The vibes aren't there for me, metaphorically. The guidebook also struggles because it knows what the Death Card is supposed to represent - it says outright "change is coming" - but can't really connect the Gentlemen well to that meaning. It says stuff like "you need to find your voice!" which feels like a platitude. Reversed Death is about resisting change, fighting what is either inevitable or necessary. Or sometimes it can be about change not coming as soon as you want it and advises patience. Tarot can be contradictory, but for the most part, the guidebook agrees with the first interpretation about accepting change.
XIV: Temperance
The Temperance card is usually represented with water flowing between two cups to show the mixing and combination of different elements and energies. Upright, it's about synthesis, fusion, harmony, patience, moderation, and peace. It's the reconciliation of two opposite things. In reverse, it is discord, conflict, imbalance, impatience, chaos, frustration, and hostility. I think for so much of Buffy's story, especially the early seasons, Joyce was in the reversed role. She represented the conflict between Buffy's normal life and her responsibilities as the Slayer. The guidebook tries to emphasize, I think, what Joyce could have been, a harmonizing force in Buffy's life who made sure she was able to balance her "normal teenage girl stuff" with her "cosmic, stabby duties." The Reverse Joyce also advises to "channel Joyce's energy" when you get news like "your daughter is the Chosen One." And while I do think what Joyce actually did when she found out Buffy was the Chosen One works for representing Reverse Temperance (asylum, kicking her out), the guidebook seems to think Joyce was patient and steady in her reaction to that news and indicates how Reverse Joyce encourages that behavior. There's just something fundamentally off with the guidebook explanation of Joyce, in my opinion. Almost like how the card itself is a little off, considering they don't show the balance between the two cups, the fundamental iconography of the tempering in Temperance. But I do think the card archetype can work for her character. They just don't explain it well.
XV: The Devil
The Devil as Dark Willow is the perfect characterization for this archetype. The Devil represents addiction, temptation, selfish ambition, that which is taboo, and fundamentally whatever exists in our darker self or the shadow of our psyche, that which can never be truly tamed but we constantly struggle to control. That is Dark Willow. The Reverse Devil usually means the same thing, but when reversed this dark aspect is not being restrained or tamed. Therefore the card itself is a warning of the possible consequences that may come from indulging in this kind of behavior. For the most part, the guidebook is consistent with those readings of the Devil, and the explanation applies to what Dark Willow does in the story. Also, usually, The Devil and The Lovers share some reversed imagery, so I like they kept Willow on both cards as a consistent through-line.
XVI: The Tower
The Tower is the worst omen in the entire Tarot deck. It represents disaster, chaos, madness, and despair. Sometimes it can be more neutral if this disaster or upheaval is a necessary one, but even then, there's some degree of suffering. Even Reversed, it's a bad omen, representing being trapped or imprisoned or stagnation, sometimes by external forces and sometimes by an internal refusal to change. So, what better scene to represent this card than Buffy diving off of Glory's tower at the end of Season Five? The ultimate disaster is represented by the creation of a Hellgod known for creating madness and despair. And the guidebook is pretty consistent here, too, with the meanings for the card that I'm familiar with.
XVII: The Star
The Star represents connecting your soul with the divine, transcending family, community, personality, and reputation to embrace the true freedom, clarity, and insight of the celestial influences. The Star represents exalted origins and a union with a higher power. It represents the Celestial Mandate - the reason for being, the duty behind existence, and our true mission in life. Nobody better represented their dedication to their Slayer Duty than Kendra. She truly embodied that transcendence (while there was a touch of tragedy to it). I think this card is so apt to her characterization, and it's making me upset again about how quickly she was killed off. I love Faith, I do, but Kendra deserved better. Reversed, the Star is the consequence of being disconnected from your true purpose and the misfortune and disappointment that comes from that. Much like my disappointment when Kendra died. The guidebook, I think, does Kendra the discredit of not committing enough to how well the characterization fits, mostly making references to her "only shirt" and platitudes like "unleashing your inner star." But I do really like her on this card.

XVIII: The Moon
Our other Slayer, it's Faith! I've seen a few conflicting interpretations of the Moon. Still, for the most part, I like to interpret it as the veil between reality and what is imagined or mystical and the journey into the unknown and unknowable. This can mean positive things like expanded consciousness and self-discovery but also negative things like illusions, trickery, and the more terrifying aspects of traveling into the unknown. For the most part, the guidebook aligns with some of the more simplified interpretations of the Moon. Upright represents illusions and shadows that need to be overcome, and Reversed is about intuition and achieving clarity. I guess it's really hard to say, depending on the context, that a card can mean many things, even if that's the point. I do think the Moon fits Faith. She has a lot of layers to her, a conflicting sense of self-identity, and a tendency for bravado to hide a lack of confidence. She certainly undergoes quite a journey of self-discovery.
XIX: The Sun
The Sun is one of the best cards in the Tarot Deck. It is radiance, positivity, primordial goodness, truth, and beauty. It is the human incarnation of the divine, the resolution of all conflict, the ultimate accomplishment and the purest joy. Even Reversed, it traditionally has no negative meaning and is either a reminder that obstacles are temporary or that it's important to honor those who aided your success. Some guidebooks will say the Reversed Sun might indicate uncertainty, unhappiness, and doubt. The Buffy Guidebook is more consistent with the traditional interpretations, upright being an indication of "peace, positivity, and an apocalypse expertly halted" and Reversed, meaning that any obstacles are "as fleeting as a passing storm." This is the perfect moment to encapsulate The Sun, a moment of victory, the destruction of the Hellmouth, and the incandescent beauty of Spike's sacrifice, Buffy's moment of truth and confession of love.
XX: Judgement
Despite its name, the Judgement card is about healing, renewal, transformation, and reuniting all aspects of the self, so one is whole and multi-dimensional. I really prefer one of the earlier names for this card, Resurrection. Also, if you think about the Major Arcana as telling a story - the Fool being the man at the beginning of his journey and each card being an obstacle overcome or a lesson learned - then Judgement is the Fool toward the end of his journey, his complete self. I just think it's interesting because Xander is the Fool, and Anya is Judgement. And she really does fit the role, going through the major transformation in the show from an ancient Vengeance Demon to a mortal woman and learning how to heal from her past, enduring several spiritual awakenings. Even Reversed Judgement works for her, representing everything that obstructs someone from reaching this whole self, the fears of death, failure, and illness that Anya struggled with after becoming mortal again. The guidebook, again, is pretty consistent with my interpretation of this card.
XXI: The World
Like The Sun, The World is one of the truly positive cards in the Tarot deck, even reversed. It's the true conclusion to a journey, the epitome of growth, completion, perfection, fulfillment, triumph, victory, and the cosmic awakening of the immortal soul. Traditionally, the reversal has the same exact meaning, although some guidebooks try to put an inverse meaning. I think the point of The World is that it is complete and whole and therefore means the same thing no matter the perspective. The Buffy Guidebook, however, does prescribe a different meaning to the Reversed World: there's a temporary setback, and you must remain motivated, "put on your sparkliest prom dress," and persevere. I do really love Buffy with the Class Protector Award as the face of The World, however. It is a moment of considerable triumph for her and almost represents the end of her High School Journey and the fulfillment of recognition by her peers. Plus, it's one of the best moments in the show.
My Final Thoughts:
So far, I really like all of the chosen characters/faces for the cards, with the exception of Death. My problem is mostly with the guidebook and how it oversimplifies Tarot. They clearly looked at a Rider-Waite deck because of the heavy inspirations in imagery. Still, based on some of the missing elements, they probably didn't do that much research into the history or meaning of those images. However, whoever the artist did a great job, I think, with the deck. I think the guidebook is clearly designed for people with limited Tarot experience and was written by people who don't practice, so a bit of the nuance is missing. Also, usually, I love cringy, campy stuff. However, some of the explanations try to shoehorn in as many BTVS references as possible rather than try to give a coherent explanation. So, I love the cards, and the guidebook is kind of take it or leave it.
