Is "Vigil" the new Jason Todd hero identity after the events of "The Man Who Stopped Laughing"? Looks like Jason's Red Hood era is finally over as this new comic (maybe) shows the victory of Jason Todd over his past (by probably not killing the Joker after all). Since Red Hood is a Joker related identity, it makes sense to transform into something new to get over all these years of drama.
LAZARUS PLANET: NEXT EVOLUTION #1
"HEROES WILL BE FORGED!
Good and bad, yin and yang…all sides of humanity will be transformed by the Lazarus event…and in the DC Universe one thing's for sure: heroes will always rise. In this special we'll explore some of the amazing new powers gifted to the freedom fighters of the future…and we'll see what perils these villain-vanquishing virtuosos will face. What secret does Flatline seek from the heart of Talia al Ghul's HQ? Can Red Canary bring order to an out-of-control city? What secret does the heroic Dead Eye hold that will haunt him forever? And enter into a brand-new legend with the fantastic debut of Vigil!"

The point is, we don't have any information about Jason Todd in the official description, and the only character that didn't get his own (exclusive) variant cover is Vigil, but in reality, it's about Jason Todd. This became obvious when we can seeJason Todd using the "Vigil" symbol on his back.

Btw I loved Dead Eye design! Extremely edgy! Also, I'm in love with the Red Canary variant!

Ben affleck bruce wayne it's so hot
YES, thank you! I know a lot of people don't agree, but I find him so attractive as Bruce. I was never really that into Ben Affleck before, but then he put on a wig, got a spray tan, and showed up with that dead look in his eyes and I was hooked.

The Flashfam is hilarious bc they’re all just running around having super angsty backstories but making jokes and laughing through the pain as they fuck with time. They’ve all got three names in both civilian and hero form they just pass around like a hot potato. Everyone but Bart is in a jealous competition for Barry’s attention because none of them have stable parental figures sans Iris and Barry sans Bart who’s just vibing with YJ. Whenever a new one shows up they’re like “literally go fuck yourself right now”. They’re so much fun. Someone get them all a therapist.

I still dislike how DC threw away the potential Damian & Emiko had being close friends/allies together. Given how it started out there was a lot you could have built off of it. But instead DC ruined it because they were going to make Damian a villain in 5G. They just ended this friendship, paired Emiko with Wallace for some reason and threw her into Teen Titans Academy (which was a bad book where she had almost nothing to do). I wish they could have had Emiko in the Robin book when that was going on. Her and Damian could have reconciled after what happened in the Teen Titans book and become stronger friends. Maybe they could have become boyfriend and girlfriend in the process if written well enough. Let’s not forget she was the first girl who gave Damian a kiss which caused Damian to short circuit in the process. (Which was both funny and adorable). Also, I still think Damian needs to reconcile with his former team at some point though. That’s a lingering plot thread that needs some resolution. That run did a lot of damage to his character and it’s time to fix the last of the broken pieces which was his falling out with the titans.

Lazarus Planet: Next Evolution #1 writer opens up about Jason Todd and Vigil. "It's not a different identity for Jason at all. Read n find out." But what Red Hood has to do with this Vigil, no one knows, I guess we will have to wait and find out. Can't wait!

It’s interesting to me how often Superman and Batman’s characterization is mixed up.
So frequently (looking at you Zack Snyder) Clark is the brooding, lonely outsider who feels isolated from the rest of the world, a god among mortals, while Bruce is the personification of humanity, both its limitations and its most extraordinary possibilities. This is one of the key components of many Superman vs Batman stories (BvS, Injustice: Gods Among Us) — Clark is (or is perceived to be) a powerful, out-of-control god who could destroy or conquer humanity, while Bruce is his arch-nemesis, the chief defender of humanity.
In reality, Clark is the more human, even despite his Kryptonian heritage. He was raised on a farm in a small midwestern town. He went to school dances and corn festivals. He loves his parents and his dog. He has a day job doing something he loves. He has a cubicle with his name on it where he tacks up pictures of his loved ones. He lives among ordinary people, and he shares many of their experiences. Yes, he’s an alien, and his powers certainly make him conscious of how different he is. But he’s still a farmboy from Kansas who goes grocery shopping, pays rent, stresses about work deadlines, and gives his colleagues homemade apple pie.
Bruce, on the other hand, has far more distance from humanity. He was born into wealth and raised among the elite. He lived in a mansion and attended galas and red carpets. After his parents died, he began living a very isolated life, only letting a few people (Alfred, his kids) in emotionally, and sometimes not even them. He trained among elite martial artists and isolated himself further by creating the shallow persona of Bruce Wayne. He sees being Batman as a duty, a burden, because he’s taken it upon himself to protect people. He lives on rooftops and in alleyways, forging himself into the inhuman personification of fear.
Despite his alien heritage, Clark is the relatable man of the people. Despite his humanity, Bruce is the lonely outsider. More adaptations need to remember that.

The visionary team of Jeremy Adams and Xermánico (Flashpoint Beyond) present a tale of redemption, loss, and finding out that maybe you can go home again, in Green Lantern. Spinning out of the events of Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Guardians of Oa at the heart of the Green Lantern Corps have quarantined Sector 2814, home of the planet Earth—and its champion along with it! A heartbreaking defeat has sent Hal reeling, returning home to rediscover his roots…and find the man responsible for ruining his life: Sinestro. At least if he's willing to hot-wire a power ring to do it.
The new Hal Jordan solo just announced by DC Comics. Green Lantern (2023) #1 is available at local comic shops on May 9th 2023!
Images used: character design by Xermánico, open-to-order Sinestro variant by Lucio Parrillo, and another variant by Ariel Colon.
