olivia rodrigo’s new album just released and you were thrilled to listen to it and stream it the whole day.

when you finally got to listen to it, you asked your friends—robin, nancy, and the party, if they listened to it and which ones were their favorites.

robin told you that her top three were hope ur ok, jealousy, jealousy, and brutal.

nancy said she really loved favorite crime.

max said hers was also brutal.

el told you that she played good 4 u and traitor on repeat that hopper had to go into her room to turn it down.

when mike comes over to the cabin he can assure that el does indeed play them on repeat and get pissy about it (but he secretly loves the album, but he wouldn’t let her or anyone know that).

and lastly lucas and dustin are fans of deja vu and 1 step forward 3 steps back. max even told you that they would sing the bridge of deja vu on the top of their lungs.

you slightly laughed at the memory of them telling you about it.

however, there’s one more person that you haven’t talked to about it yet.

your smile faltered and faded when he came across in your mind.

your feelings for him had deepened over the time and listening to the sour album made it feel like you two had broken up, which in fact, is not true because you were never together in the first place.

suddenly, an idea popped in your head. instead of being sad about steve, you thought about texting him, although it’s almost 1AM, you knew he’d still be up.

you rolled on your back after you read the message, facing the ceiling as your mind processed what just happened. was he playing with you? was he actually serious about asking you out?

Sailor Man

you took a deep breath before tapping the green button and placing it back down on the bed.

“hey,” you can tell that he was tired based on his voice. “can you show your face, please? i miss you.”

ignoring the butterflies in your stomach, you hesitantly lifted the phone and shifted your position to lay on your side. “hey.”

“hey yourself.” steve grins. that stupid grin that makes your stomach turn, that grin you always want to see everyday.

“what’s..up?” you avoided looking at him and started to admire your surroundings and the posters placed on your wall. this was the only time you were glad you weren’t with him in person.

“i just wanted to see if you’re okay.” of course he will ask that. he's steve. he cares about other more than himself.

“i am, thanks.” you showed a smile that doesn't reach your ears and steve knew something was bothering you. “hey, look. i'm sorry about my confession- if it made you uncomfortable i'm sorry-”

“no,” you cut him off, looking back at his face on the screen. “i’m fine, really. you don't have to apologize. i was just, surprised.”

there was silence between the two of you for a few seconds, before you spoke again. “did you mean it?” you voice was only above whisper but steve managed to hear them. “of course,” he answered almost too quick, without any hesitation. “i've been trying to find the perfect opportunity and had been asking god for signs because i can't make a move myself-”

“asking god?” you chuckled and steve smiled hearing them, glad that he somehow lightened the mood. “well, more like begging.” he continues and you giggled.

once your laughter died you both fell into silence again. you still couldn’t believe that out of a fun joke, it would turn into a whole another situation. “so, um.. just so you know, i’m not mad, or upset, or anything. i really was just surprised. it felt like a dream because i didn’t know that you like me back and all i did was just supposed to be a fun joke but—”

“hold on, back?”

“what?”

“like you back. you said i like you back.” steve sat up on his bed and fixed his hair as his eyes widened. “i did...” you said slowly, not catching up.

“does that mean you..”

then it hit you. “oh, right. yeah. i- i like you..too.” you waited for his reaction and once you saw him smile you couldn’t stop yourself from doing the same.

“i knew it. and well, i guess that confirms it. we’re dating now. no taking back.” he smirks then laughs when your rolled your eyes. “don’t flatter yourself, harrington. i did not say shit.” you pointed your index finger on the screen, barely containing your giggles.

“based on your beautiful smile i think you don’t need to say it. i like you, and you like me. we’re dating.” steve gives you a teasing smile. you tried keeping your serious face but it won’t last longer so you finally smiled again. “alright, fine. no taking backs. we’re dating.” you said then laughed as he whisper-yelled ‘yes!’ while fist pumping the air.

he soon joined your laughter and you stayed like that until your jaw was pretty much in pain because of your smiles. when it was all quiet again, you both just admired each other’s presence through the screens of your phones. “i wish i was there with you.” he mumbles. “yeah, me too.” you hugged your cold pillow beside you, closing your eyes for a moment and imagining it as steve.

“are your parents home?”

you snorted at his random question. “i’m actually alone right now, they’re out because dad got promoted at his work so he and mom and i think a few friends went out to celebrate. they should be home by an hour or two. why?”

“nothing.” was all he said before hanging up. you were left confused but then he’s your best friend after all, so you knew right then and there that he’ll do something stupid. after you turned your phone off you suddenly felt watching a movie so you went to the kitchen to make some popcorn.

when it was finished and had been put in a bowl, that’s when you heard your doorbell rang—in a pattern which you recognize, and only one person does that.

you let out a quiet laugh when you realized who it was and set the bowl on the counter before opening the door.

“hi!” steve greeted you with a smile. “uh, hi?” you laughed nervously and stepped aside for him to go in. “i smell popcorn, are we having a movie night?” he says as he steps inside and shrugged off his jacket. “actually yeah, i’m planning on watching—”

“tangled.” he finishes off, you subconsciously smiled upon hearing your favorite movie. “how’d you know?”

steve snatches a few popcorns from the bowl as you both arrived in the kitchen. “(y/n), you have watched that movie 7 times this week and always gush to me about it.”

“well, you’re the only one that is around my age that i can talk to with that movie. robin and nancy aren’t that into it.” you replied, grabbing the bowl and making your way back to your bedroom, steve following your heels. “and you think i’m the best option to talk to about that?” he asks, plopping down on your bed and resting his back on the headboard.

“you’re not complaining.” you shrugged as you grabbed your laptop and sat beside steve.

“yeah, probably because i like you.” it came out of his mouth casually. you froze in place and felt your cheeks heat up, finally nodding your head slowly, “..probably.” as you typed in the movie in your laptop you felt steve scoot closer, making your breath hitch.

you were both in a comfortable silence while watching the movie, except for a few jokes and comments that steve makes and him explaining how similar he was to flynn rider.

“you know, since i’m eugene, you could be rapunzel.” he suddenly says. you eyes were still on the screen but your eyebrows furrowed. “why? i’m nothing like her.”

finally looking at steve, you almost screamed how he was already looking at you. “oh, you are so rapunzel. you may not have the longest hair in the world, but you are pretty much similar.” he replies, smiling and not taking his eyes off of you.

you paused the movie and shifted your body towards him, intrigued by his explaination. “how so?”

“well, first off,” steve starts, resting his hands on the soft mattress. “you’re both sweet, you’re both a huge ray of sunshine, have gorgeous eyes and smile, and eugene is head over heels over you — and since he doesn’t exist in real life, i’d like to be the substitute.” he finished with a confident smile.

after about three seconds, you burst out of laughter. you laughed. as much as he loves the sound of your laugh, he can’t help but pout. “(y/n), i’m trying to be sweet here!”

“i’m sorry!- it’s just- i can’t help but laugh at your flirting.” you managed to say between your laughs. you know he’s kidding but he looked at you like he was offended.

your laughter died down and held steve’s face. “it’s cute, sorry.” you mumble with a little laugh. when he finally smiled you turned to your laptop and continued the movie.

steve gazes at you for a few more seconds before watching the movie with you again. “thank you.” you whisper, glancing at him.

“you’re very much welcome, my rapunzel.” he says smiling before he slides a bit down on the bed so his head could reach your shoulder and rests it there.

you giggled as you heard him whisper,

“thank you, olivia rodrigo.”

i gotta sleep soon so ive decided i will finally dump a buncha my headcanons here aswell adfhsf theyre all in here but im gonna copy paste them as a post as well because i wanna ill be updating the doc a lot but i probably wont edit the post much notes slight spoilers but not much? i dont think? mono is written to be the tallest because rcg is more like a bonus i guess? but she is the tallest + oldest (this goes for other similar things written abt six, mono and/or rk) some of these are more like what-if scenarios (ex. modern stuff mentioned like cars) that could fit maybe in an au of sorts rather than entirely canon all links are safe

Likes making "nests" out of her stuff

Definitely occasionally runs on all fours, it's usually not for too long though.

Most of the time it’s momentarily while she's already in the middle of sprinting, to give herself a boost with a bound or two, or if she trips or feels herself falling forward while running she'll shift onto all fours which is is how she originally developed that "reflex", to prevent herself from falling while running, but eventually she started using it a little more often 

She can also just walk normally on all fours too but she usually only uses it while running 

She likes to show off her object collections to Mono, he’s very supportive :] Loves long car rides, as well as Runaway

Brings mono gifts (usually dead rats, birds, etc. or bizzare objects from her collection that reminded her of him for whatever reason)

Hates drinks like soda or sparkling water, anything fizzy is a no-no

Likes shiny things Her pupils widen (that cat thing) when she sees something interesting, or something/someone she likes Plus her eyes shine in the dark / in photos sometimes, they usually look red

Mono gave Six their lighter

Heterochromia, their right eye is a dark, reddish brown, the other is milky white

Summary: Y/n goes to the park with Iwaizumi and finds a shapeshifter friend. Mizuki wants to know about this guy Y/n has been spending time with.

Part 7: We Could Be Friends

Y/n and Iwaizumi made plans to go to one of the forest parks nearly a week ago. But due to busy schedules, they didn't have any free days line up until now. This was the first time in awhile Y/n had been to a park in the forest in a long time. Which meant she wasn’t exactly the best guide. Luckily the park had marked paths through the area versus her usual running wild anywhere between the trees. Seeing sunshine through the trees may have been even prettier than the moonlight at night, tucked behind the treetops.

Used to the quietness of nocturnal animals and lack of any people, this area felt like another world even though they weren’t too far off from one of her frequented nighttime spots. Walking alongside Iwaizumi, she found herself almost constantly catching the sounds and movements of birds and small critters that she wouldn’t normally get to experience. She tried not to get distracted too much anytime Iwaizumi started talking. But with the new sounds and different scents through the trees, she couldn’t help but get distracted some.

“I thought you said you’ve been out here before,” Iwaizumi questioned, breaking her trance of the world around her.

“Huh? Oh.” She realized she had really slowed down her pace but quickly sped up again. “Yeah, but it's been a minute. It’s so.. alive here.”

“Alive? Isn’t fall kind of the opposite,” he said, crossing his arms. “And I mean, it's nice out here, but the way you keep looking around.. It’s like you’ve never seen such a place before.”

She laughed nervously. “Well, the last time I was out here I didn’t notice so many animals.”

He looked around, trying to spot something in the trees or fallen leaves, but other than a squirrel and a couple of birds he couldn’t find anything that could possibly be so interesting. But he decided not to argue. “Right,” fingers tapping his left bicep.

Soon they came across a stream off to the side of the designated path; likely the same stream that ran through where she sat with Sakusa a couple of weeks ago. Y/n took it upon herself to lead them off the path towards it. As she sat down in the leaves, Iwaizumi stood next to her, eyes narrowing. “Aren’t we supposed to stay on the paths?”

She looked up to him and smirked before bringing her attention to the water. “So? What, we might get yelled at? It’ll be fine.”

He watched her for a moment, then sat beside her. “I really don’t want to get kicked out of a park.”

She snickered. “Do you think this is any worse than showin’ up after dark? It’s fine! Just sit here and listen.”

He followed her command. “..The birds?”

“Hmm. Yes, but not just those. You can hear the water move, the breeze shuffling leaves, and there’s either squirrels or chipmunks running around the trees and ground.. Just sit here and relax, listening and being in nature.” She looked around to where she heard each sound as she spoke.

But he can’t hear every sound that she can. “Yeah, I guess I can do that..”

She took the chance to stubbly take in the new sights and sounds, getting better attuned with her lively-to-her surroundings. They stayed like that for a few minutes, before she looked over to him and realized he had been staring at her. Her eyes widened for a split second. “Come on.” She shoved his shoulder with a playfully grin before standing and dusting off her pants. “We’re like what, half around this trail?” She grabbed his arm and dragged him back towards the path with her.

They walked along the path for a while. Watching squirrels run about and climb trees, listening to everything Y/n had pointed out.

Her phone started buzzing repeatedly, so she slipped it out of her pocket to check what’s going on.

>> From ‘My Best Bitch <3’: “r u out on that date yet?”

>> From ‘My Best Bitch <3’: “u said that’s today right?”

>> From ‘My Best Bitch <3’: “when am i going to meet him”

>> To ‘My Best Bitch <3’: “not a date. i told you that”

She chuckled. “It’s Mizuki.”

“How’s she?”

>> To ‘My Best Bitch <3’: “as if you and sakusa didnt get my attention”

>> To ‘My Best Bitch <3’: “what’s wrong with me having a new friend?”

>> From ‘My Best Bitch <3’: “yeah but sakusa was all but forced into our friendship and i forced my way into your heart so whooo forced this lil friendship-thing? Who do i have to thank for helping socialize our Y/n”

She gave an exasperated sigh. “Apparently dying to meet you.”

He raised his eyebrows and slid his hands in his pockets. “You talk about me to your friends?”

“Mmm.. Well, it's hard to keep things from her. It seems like she always finds a way.” She crinkled her nose as they passed a plant that had a strong odor to her, though Iwaizumi didn't seem phased. “That and she saw me texting ya the other day and had to ask questions.” She shook her head. “The ever curious, Mizu’.”

He laughed. “She sounds.. interesting to have around.”

She giggled. “She’s high energy, but she means well. She’s just curious.”

>> To ‘My Best Bitch <3’: “i am capable of making friends on my own you know”

>> From ‘My Best Bitch <3’: “uh huh and i’ll get to see him when?”

“Maybe you should introduce us.” He bumped into her, grinning.

“If I do that she might drag you on last minute adventures. Which could range from running around downtown or staying in. But mostly out.” She gave a half shrug.

“That almost sounds like a complaint,” he said.

She waved a hand defensively. “Don’t get me wrong, I love the city and coming out here, but I prefer staying in more than she does.”

“Maybe we should have stayed in then.” He looked her over, noticing she was no longer looking around constantly. “Though you seem.. Not so overwhelmed now.”

She blushed in embarrassment. “Ah- Hmm, I’d say more like.. Deeply enjoying.. This place.”

He looked unimpressed by her poor explanation. “Uh huh.”

She cleared her throat and their conversation paused as they made their way to the end of the path. Enjoying the sights and sounds around them in the process.

“But really, I do love her and love having her around.” She giggled quietly to herself. “There’s not a dull moment with her. I may have to raise her spirits from time to time, but she can do the same for me.”

He smiled softly. “Sounds like you’re good friends.”

She hummed an agreement. “Maybe I will introduce you sometime.”

She shook her head. “Yeah. We were both business majors and had a couple of classes together.. my second year, I think. And well, she has a way of befriending anyone. So next thing ya know, we were friends.”

Approaching the parking lot, they stopped to chat. Not having plans for if their little outing stopped here or not.

“Do you ever do anything other than go for walks or to bars in your free time?”

“I go out to eat,” she said matter-of-factly, then looked around the lot in front of them until she spotted her car. She found Iwaizumi’s green Tacoma several cars down from hers in the process.

He nodded slowly. “Okay.. but if those three things suddenly didn’t exist what would you do?”

She shrugs nonchalantly. “Guess I’d die.” She smirked.

He rolled his eyes and pointed to his truck. “So you don’t want to go to grab a bite then?”

“You have found my one true weakness,” she says dramatically with a hand on her chest and a sarcastic grin.

He shook his head. “Come on, follow me. There’s a little cafe not far from here, if that’s your thing. I can give you the address.”

She happily agrees at the promise of food and they head for her Civic. She drops into the driver’s seat and leaves the door wide open while Iwaizumi gives her the address. Once she has the GPS ready to go, he walks around the car to head for his truck. Kicking one leg outside the car, she texts Mizuki, deciding to entertain her with a selfie of the two from the beginning of their walk.

“Hmm?” Blur of orange to her right catching her interest. A gorgeous red fox had appeared while she was preoccupied, walking around the open driver’s door. Her eyes widened at the sight. Foxes typically stayed away from her, but she was almost only ever out here as a wolf, so that’s only to be expected. The fox sat on the pavement, giving her a cheerful tail wag. She cooed, “Hey there lil’ fella.”

Immediately the fox’s ears pulled back, and she swears its face scrunched. Not a minute later the fox swiftly hopped into her car and onto her lap, completely catching her off guard.

“Ho?” She squinted. How strange. She would have never imagined such behavior from a wild fox; though there is a shifter that looks oddly similar that probably would crawl in her lap if given the opportunity. He does have the same set of face markings..

The realization of the situation hit her. “Oh! No no, hey! I’m not alone here!” She quietly scolded the shifter in her lap, looking over to where Iwaizumi had parked but she couldn’t spot his truck passed the other cars from here. “Ah shit, do you need a ride home?” She asked the fox shifter just before he hopped into the backseat.

“Okay, uh, hold on.” She quickly dialed Iwaizumi, “Hey, uh, sorry, um.. No, no.. A friend just got a hold of me and needs me to take them home.. Ah, no! He’s fine, just- ..Actually, can we just change locations? ..Yeah, no, he's remotely close to where you live, kinda, so if you want to go anywhere around there, I can meet you when I’m done or something.. Yeah, yeah! I think I know that place..” She peered into the backseat at the fox. Cupping the microphone and sighing, she whispers to the fox, “You’re lucky I love you.”

Back to the phone, “Okay! I’ll see you there! Sorry, again!” Hanging up, she started the car. “Stay down until we hit the highway. Don’t shift yet either.”

hi how are u : )

quick writing q, how did you come up with original characters? are they star wars characters or just like general?

i feel like i have ideas but like. struggle to make them into people. if that makes sense.

hiya!!! i’m good, hope you’re doing well!!! (and thank you for asking this question because,,,you should know i geeked out temporarily because someone’s asking me about original characters??? whooo boy!!!) 

also...things got lengthy (again), so i added all this under the cut!

okay, so i have like one (1) star wars original character named eiko, who i introduced in time, wondrous time. introducing eiko took a while and it was a lot of me being super anxious and kind of lowkey scared because...star wars fans tend to be a little protective, and sometimes original characters aren’t that well-liked, especially because of that fear of “mary sue”-ness and etc. 

so in the case of a star wars original character and to avoid the problems specific to and inherent to all the problems we run into with original characters in fanfic writing, i just kind of. make sure that she’s actually got some traits that! people can mostly relate to! 

so for instance, eiko’s just a very anxious kid who wants to be a good padawan, but: 

how do you be a good padawan anyways when there were already so many amazing jedi who walked the path  before you?

how do you handle those expectations? 

are you harder on yourself because of it? probably. 

do you glow when given compliments? absolutely.

and i guess when making a star wars original character, or an original character in any pre-established fandom, then you really want to make sure that if they’re connected to a canon character in some way, the canon character gets a storyline of their own. 

the canon character and the original character can rely on each other from time to time, but i think it would be kinda boring if the original character just followed around canon characters and never figured things out for themselves. 

basically: we want your original character to have some independence away from the canon characters.

how do they act when they’re alone? 

what do they do in their free time? those are things to think about when you’re trying to better grasp an original character in a pre-existing fandom.

but in terms of writing original original characters, i have this thing where like. i just take a singular personality trait that (usually) i have and dial it up to 100000. because, as one of my own friends likes to say, we contain multitudes. there are so many lives and so many different facets of you that are sometimes fighting for the spotlight--and sometimes, i like to give those different facets a little bit more of a voice in original characters. 

because really, chances are, those little bits of you that are still hiding around the corners? those traits are sometimes more exemplified in other people. so, like, if that was confusing (which i know it was), a quick example: 

i will be the first to admit that sometimes, i can be an incredibly rude person. (idk how much of a surprise that is to people. i hope it’s a bit of a surprise, because i don’t like to be rude.) 

and of course, there are tons of very, very, very rude people in real life. the reason why i’m not rude 24/7 is because there’s a part of me that dials it down a quick notch. but there are people out there who don’t have that dial, and they’re able to exist relatively freely just being the rude people they are. 

so that’s kinda where i start in making my characters feel a little more real/also a little more diverse in character! 

because as one of my creative writing instructors once told me, writers tend to be a quiet bunch. and i think anything we write--including characters--tend to reflect huge parts of ourselves, so imagine if we just had a cast of quiet characters who twiddled their thumbs all the time. that’s not a good story, and those aren’t always very dynamic characters. so have fun! take one singular trait that you find intriguing about yourself or in in others and say to yourself, “okay, but what if i dialed it up?” see where it gets you!

but i guess if we want to talk more about how to make characters feel like more real people, then i guess it goes down to the age-old question all writers need to ask when looking at their characters: 

what does your character want?

think about it. anything your character wants is what is ultimately going to drive them forward to do what they’re going to do. act the way they’re going to act, say what they’re going to say. 

there’s a story that i wrote a while back about a girl who’s the daughter of an assassin. she wants to be a lawyer, while her mom wants her to follow the family business and become an assassin as well. 

so how does the mom act? the mom does everything in her power to get her daughter to be excited about being an assassin--lets her in on interrogation rooms, takes her to a shooting range, gets increasingly frustrated and turns up the denial denial denial mode every time her daughter talks about the possibility of law school. 

the daughter? the daughter does everything in her power to make sure her mom knows that she doesn’t want to be an assassin. she deliberately lounges around during the interrogation, she misses all the targets on the shooting range on purpose, etc. 

so, in essence: your characters have to want something first. as soon as they want something, the rest will slowly come to place. even if you’ve never been an assassin or the relative of one, you still probably relate to at least the feeling of wanting something badly, and all people know that feeling too! it’s real, and it’s human to want something. 

combine that want with, idk, the type of background you have for your characters (and there’s a ton of different resources on developing that specifically), and soon, you’ll find yourself writing/communicating/tearing your hair out with a much more fleshed-out character.

and, if you’ve done all these and you still want to know a little more about your character, another thing to flesh out original characters/stories: 

1. write fanfic of them. no, seriously, do it. sometimes you can’t really write your big story/novel/whatever right away, but you have a very specific scene or you want to reimagine them in a different setting and just play around with them. that’s okay! what are they like in a modern day high school au? in a coffeeshop au? play around with it, and see what’s consistent (do they meet the same people in the same manner over and over again? do they like to listen to one specific kind of music? do they still talk funny? do they still wear x?) 

2. make playlists! like...music is personally one of my big inspirations, so this is where i usually throw in some good old playlists. more times than not, i’m able to write with my original characters with my original character’s specific playlist playing in the background. (and it’s wonderful! i have one character playlist that’s almost solely musical/disney music because she’s a very innocent kind of gal, while another playlist is very heavy punk/rock because that’s Just How She Is.)

3. write incorrect quotes! you know the ones i’m talking about--there are so many incorrect quote blogs on tumblr. i have a separate, private sideblog here on tumblr that’s completely dedicated to writing incorrect quotes of my original characters. i sometimes post screenshots of them here too, although i haven’t done that in a while. but incorrect quotes are fun, and they might give you a good idea of the kind of characters/archetypes you want them to fit into! 

(and, because i can’t resist, here’s an example from my own original characters:) 

galen: andrea, i need you to swear to me--

andrea: shit

galen: 

galen: i meant swear like promise, andrea //

rosalind: crushes are the worst 

dae: yeah, whenever i’m near one, i just start acting nervous 

rosalind: you’re always nervous 

dae: ...don’t think too hard 

myung, tired: bold of you to assume rosalind thinks

4. alternatively, make a whole private side blog dedicated to your original characters and reblog/tag the posts that remind you of them. like, you know the “[x] characters as tumblr posts”? yeah. i do that a lot. so, just because i really can’t resist, some more examples: 

“Bro, We Are Rivals . Its Ok To Pin ME Up Against A Wall . Im Ur Nemesis . I Hate You . ... Bro, We Are Kissing Now . . No Dont Stop Bro .. Bro ... // @gayarsonist 

oh so you’re just going to wear a black turtleneck?? like some kind of slut?? // @allergic-alien 

and sometimes, i’ll use that blog to also reblog poetry that resonates with my original characters/gifsets of actors/actresses that i would fancast as my original characters. (like,,,did i look at ewan mcgregor in mortdecai and gratuitously tag him as a villain character in one of my wips? yeah. yeah, i did. it’s fun writing that villain character now, though. :))

you’ve been ordering takeouts all the time and it was time to cut back.

but you suck at cooking hence the horrible homemade pizza.

you gave your pizza to your brother since you care about your lil brother and don’t want him to starve since there’s nothing to eat.

however, you just knew what he’s going to say

“yes that’s correct.” you tried to make eye contact but his eye contact is tOO STRONG, so you looked away.

jungkook stuttered, “y-y/n right?”

“uh yeaH, that’s my name. how did you know?” you questioned with a surprised look on your face.

“oH no!! i meant that the name that you placed while ordering is the correct order right?” he showed the receipt with your name on it, “i wanted to make su-”

you grabbed your order but you saw something that you didn’t order?? so you were veryy confused. “sorry but i didn’t order this... casserole???” you spoke while trying to give it back to him.

jungkook shook his head “uh nO, it’s free!! it’s a complimentary thing since someone have noticed that you’ve been ordering at our place quite often.” he smiled.

“OH was it hyunjin??? he’s always so nice when he’s accepting my delivery calls :D” you commented obliviously.

jungkook pokes his tongue inside his cheek but luckily you didn’t notice, “nope, it was me.” you looked up, “have a nice day y/n.” he winked.

First Meeting

for @kaminoanbat​, who has a beautiful, incredible, wonderful OC named Tiamat and (bc kaminoanbat is so sweet and amazing) let me design a girlfriend for her - two cute girls who love cooking? and spoiling clone troopers? truly Iconic(tm) ❤❤❤

Coruscanti air couldn’t exactly be called fresh, whether in the morning or evening or late night or anytime in between, but it always carried a humming undercurrent of pure, unchecked energy that seeped into every neon light, every littered alley, every glittering panel on the Senate building. It was a city-planet of a billion wandering souls, their lives thrumming and crashing together no matter the hour of the day, no matter the level. It was a natural resource seeping up through the very duracrete under their feet.

And as the forest-green Twi’lek woman stood outside of the bare restaurant - her restaurant - one hand on her hip and a data pad in the other, she was fit to burst from it.

A speeder raced around the corner, making her long gray linen robe snap in the sudden breeze. Noori smoothed it down, hardly even bothered, though she did cast the retreating speeder a quick glare out of habit. Her lekku, twined together under the deep ochre scarf wrapped three times about her head and tied off under her neck, smarted in the trail of fumes. Though I suppose it could get old rather fast.

Her bright gold eyes drifted to the storefront again, and she grinned so wide her cheeks started to hurt. Not yet! She’d been busy since arriving planetside two months ago. And now - and now she had a restaurant of her very own. In a good neighborhood, on a moderate level, next to a busy pedestrian area - wide windows, modest floor plan, an even larger kitchen. It was a dream come true. Now she was finally Head Chef.

Even at this early hour, the streets were still fill of beings already rushing about their day - a few families bustling off sleepy children to school, men and women and others in their finest attire, a patrol of the Corsuscanti guards. She nodded to them as they passed, a quick smile always on her lips for any clone trooper she came across. They were, of course, almost entirely the reason for her moving to Coruscant. Ever since she and Yari had hosted General Skywalker’s men, had prepared food and drink for them, seen their smiles of wonder and realized that no one had done this for them before, the idea had settled in the back of her mind until she hadn’t been able to hold it back anymore.

Yari had loved it, because he was Yari. The feast had been his idea, originally. And when Noori blurted out that she wanted to move to Coruscant to do this for more troopers, to cook for and spoil as many as she possibly could, he had smiled and loaned her enough money to purchase a flight to the Capital of the Republic. Her fingers traced the edge of the data pad - and then some.

“Good morning!”

Noori jumped and glanced over her shoulder, worried for a moment someone she knew had spotted her, but she needn’t have worried.

It was directed at the troopers who had just passed her on the street. They’d stopped about fifteen feet from her, their broad shoulders blocking whoever had just greeted them. Curiosity ebbed into Noori’s mind and she stepped forward slightly, peering around one of them to see their cheery greeter.

A bright red Togrutan woman, her heavily scarred face dimpled prettily with a large smile, was standing before them, her hands outstretched. Two sweets wrapped in plastic shone in the morning sun in her palms. “Here, these are for you!” She said, her voice carrying over to Noori like smoke on a breeze. “They’re chocolate and berry flavored, I think,” she laughed as the troopers thanked her and each plucked one from her palms. She waved a hand in front of her eyes, dull grey and unfocused, and giggled. “You’ll have to forgive me if I’m wrong.”

Whatever had scarred the Togrutan’s face had also taken most of her right montral and clipped off most of her left lekku, tearing a large, jagged swath across her face. Though the scars were long-faded now, the nub of her montral smoothed over, Noori still winced at the thought of losing one of her own lekku. The Togruta carried a cane under her arm, and was nothing but smiles and little giggles and snorts as she talked to the two troopers. One had taken off his helmet and was trying the sweet as Noori watched, confirming it to be chocolate and berry - but the other was simply staring down at his in wonder, cupping the wrapped sweet in both hands like a baby bird.

Noori’s heart swelled. This was why she had moved to Coruscant. For moments like this. She couldn’t tear her eyes away from the Togruta - who was, Noori thought, very pretty and obviously a sweetheart, look how happy she made them - hoping that the glare of her restaurant’s windows masked her blatant eavesdropping.

The Togruta smiled once more and gave the troopers a little bow, flipping her cane out from underneath her arm, wishing them a good day. They thanked her profusely - the one still hadn’t made a move to unwrap his yet - and walked away, their shoulders pressed back and their laughter echoing off of the surrounding buildings. The Togruta waved goodbye and started off, a haze of a smile still on her full lips.

It didn’t take long for Noori to catch up to her - on the left, she didn’t want to startle her. “Excuse me, miss?” She called out while she was still a few steps behind.

The Togruta turned, cocking her head and narrowing her eyes in confusion, like she was trying to pull Noori out of the hazy gray backdrop of the city. For a half-second, Noori wished she hadn’t settled on the gray robe today - and then she stopped, a little breathless. “Hi - hey - I’m sorry to bother you, but I just wanted to let you know that I saw what you did for those troopers back there.” She rushed on, her tongue tripping over her words, “It make me really happy, and I know they loved it, too. I just - I just wanted to know - what’s your name?”

The Togruta blinked, then a slow smile spread over her lips and Noori’s stomach did a backflip. “Tiamat,” she said, her voice low and soft and very, very pretty. “My name is Tiamat.”

• ur uni had opened this new pizza place there and u just wanted to go there really bad ok

• not only because the place was really cool!!!! or that it sold amazingly good pizzas!!!!!

• ur childhood best friend jisung was working there too (▰˘◡˘▰)

• he left ur town yEARS AGO to go to seoul

• so u missed him a shit ton ok

• so u walked into the pizza place as u were returning from the library somewhere at the evening when the place almOST closes

• the bell did a little "ting!" as u walked in and were greeted by 3 amazingly good looking guys

• "hello, ma'am! welcome pizzeria palace! what would you like to have?"

• "can i have one.... barbequed chicken fiesta? medium size."

• the guy nodded and yelled a "coming right up!" to u before taking down the list of things required and went to the kitchen

• there wasn't really any place to sit since they were probably packing up when u arrived

• aka there were no chairs and u were just standing there looking like a lost child

• "hello there!! sorry we had to keep our chairs in since we were about to close but.... u can sit here!"

• u turn around to find a guy behind u with his apron on and pointing at a chair behind him

• u were honestly too tired and exhausted to say no or basically anything so u sat down

• and there was just silence covering u both when he broke the silence

• "have i.... seen u somewhere...?"

• u turn to look at his face and inch towards him, causing his cheeks to go red, but he stayed where he was

• "u kinda remind me of this one childhood friend of mine who came to seoul a few years ago and now works here"

• u rest ur back on the chair once again when u were done speaking

• "is his name......... han jisung......."

• this is just one of those million things u love about jisung

• the fact that he doesn't just ask someone right away. he waits to confirm himself and then he confronts them. and if they aren't okay with speaking about it, he'll just give them space

• but u did want to tell him

• so u told him about ur case of insecurity

• and jisung just hugged u really close and pat ur head as ur sigh comes out muffled since ur face was legit squished in his chest

• "y/n. i will never give up someone like you. okay? stop feeling so insecure."

• and he pulls away and i swear the way he looks at u

• the endearing look he gives u

one of the most charming and endearing princes out there??

there isn’t anyone one within a 100-mile radius that dislikes seungcheol like..... have you met him

and anyone who does kind of feel some sort of dislike towards him

they see him smile and oops

how did I not like him before?? he’s an angel??

he is genuinely hard working and kind hearted though, he works very hard to make the lives of his people better

when he was younger and wasn’t allowed to go out he would have to learn about the kingdom’s history and,, all the war and bloodshed absolutely broke his heart

he swore that when he was older he would never allow something like this to happen again

when he was finally allowed to go out and saw some of the people struggling to just make do, he was determined to make a change

nowadays he makes it his mission to go out and meet everybody and see how they’re doing as often as his busy schedule allows

he’ll have lunch in the town and chat with the people, anyone who saw from the outside wouldn’t even suspect that he was royalty and just think that it was a table of old friends

plus his absolute favorite meal of all time is in this small shop tucked away in one of the small streets in the heart of town, and it was,,, a burger

sure the food in the palace was obviously amazing with top chefs cooking there and all but,, nothing really beats the burger made in this small shop that people barely even knew about

we all know seungcheol will be a well-dressed prince 

like,, he won’t want to be super over the top in full on capes and stuff but,, he sure as hell isn’t just walking around town in sweatpants or something

he cares about his image okay

everyone in his kingdom is basically in love with him

have you seen his smile though? it can cure diseases

he takes his responsibilities very seriously, but obviously, he’s still a young man who likes to have fun and gets bored too

he doesn’t like to sit still, so when he’s finished with all of his duties he’ll be off to go do something

even at odd times at the night, you can find him in a nearby kingdom trying to find this specific comic book or something

people don’t find it weird anymore

he’s often seen hanging out with the other princes when he can

the people die when they see their princes hanging out together

has public social media accounts but also secret personal ones

spams the group chat full of princes,, just because he can

ok enough background stuff onto you and cheol

you work in one of those small tucked away shops that prince seungcheol likes to frequent

however you’re not from this kingdom, and you only work the night shift so it’s not like you know a lot of people or much about this kingdom

you’re just taking this job to try and make some cash while you’re away from home traveling, you happened to choose to stay here indefinitely

you’re not entirely sure who this strangely good-looking man is who only comes in at 3am every week is but ?? business is business plus you’re not gonna judge,, it’s not like you’ve never had cravings for junk food in the middle of the night too

since it’s late at night cheol is dressed in very casual clothes so nothing really gives away the fact that he’s actually the goddamn prince of this kingdom

since he comes so often plus he just likes to get to know people he makes small talk while you gather up his stuff

after a couple of weeks, you soon become kinda like friends ?? it’s a weird circumstance but hell it’s 3am nobody’s really functioning well enough to question this

 you’re sitting at the counter on your phone when the bell on the door rings signalling another customer

you just know it’s him again cause,,, not many people would be here at this ungodly time of night so you don’t bother looking up

you stop scrolling through instagram when you hear tutting in front of you

“I should complain to your manager you know- I’d rate this customer service a 1/10″

seungcheol watched as you finally looked up and chuckled at him

“sorry old man..... how can I help you, your highness”

seungcheol froze- did you finally find out who he was?

the reason he was so interested in you was because you didn’t seem to know who he was, and treated him like a normal person

his mind was going 100 miles a minute until you suddenly snorted

“god imagine it,, you ?? a king ?? pfft”

he smirked once he realized he wasn’t busted

“what do you have against me being a king huh?”

“idk man what kinda king buys junk food like three times a week at 3am,, plus ur a dork”

“wow,,, is that all i am to you,,,,,, a dork,,,, im hurt”

you smack his arm before starting to scan the things he’s put down on the counter

“how do you eat all this and stay in shape... tell me your secrets”

you snorted once again as you begin to pack his things into a paper bag

and that’s how you ended up at the bottom of a hill at 5am with a man you’ve never seen outside the shop

you were both lying on the grass, panting from running up a sizable hill

“your highness! there you are! you were supposed to return an hour ago you father will find out you’ve been out!”

seungcheol’s eyes widened before cursing under his breath

“I gotta go but you still owe me breakfast okay I’ll explain everything tonight ok bye !!”

you just sat there in shock as seungcheol dashed down the hill, even faster than before as the worker followed behind him

“y-your highness?”

you had flashbacks to seungcheol smirking when you laughed at the idea of him being king

you make your way back home, with a permanent blush on your cheeks and a million thoughts in your head

how could you not know that he was the prince?

oh god you’ve been smacking the prince for weeks when he makes a stupid dad joke

you can’t sleep that day and when you’re back in the shop you’re barely conscious

you’re too tired to even think about seungcheol saying he would explain tonight

when seungcheol comes in and makes his way over to the counter, he expects to find you on your phone again but instead sees you asleep on the counter

he smiles softly before grabbing an old receipt and a pen and writing a note

“sleeping on the job? strike two y/n. I really should complain to your manager, guess I was just too fast for you ;). I’ll be back tomorrow, get some rest. p.s. you might want to wash that hoodie, you drooled a little bit”

you woke up with a panic when your phone chimed at 5am, reminding you it was time to close up

oh god seungcheol was supposed to come

after you finally orientate yourself you notice the note on the table

after reading the note you flush red again

oh god you were asleep in front of the cute prince and d r o o l e d

you stumbled home after closing up and immediately went to sleep

later that day you rushed to the shop, almost late since you were so tired you slept through your alarm

as 2 am came around the bell on the door rang and you sat up straight

seungcheol didn’t usually come till around 3 so you assumed this was an actual customer

"I hope you washed that hoodie before coming back here tonight”

you looked down and noticed that you were in such a rush that you didn’t even change out of last night’s outfit

flushing pink, you quip back with a “so what if I didn’t huh”

seungcheol finally appears from around the shelf

“its a bit gross i gotta say”

“not as gross as you”

seungcheol looked at you with a soft smile on his face, trying to get the words in his head to form coherent sentences

“im sorry”

you looked at him with a blank face

“what for ?? i mean i know its kinda gross but like i was gonna be late for work and-”

“no, I’m sorry for not telling you”

you sat there with your mouth half open and closed it before looking down at your hands that were on the counter

“it’s okay”

he took your hands in his, making you look up

“it’s not, I shouldn’t have kept it from you. I’ve just never had someone treat me like everyone else and it was... refreshing. But you deserved to know, I was being selfish. I’m sorry”

you gave seungcheol a soft smile, giving his hands a soft pat as he looked down at his feet to try and get his attention

“seungcheol really, it’s fine. I understand why you did it, I’m not mad”

“I still feel bad, it wasn’t right. You should be mad”

“well I mean I am....”

seungcheol looked up, ready to apologize again

“but only cause you beat me in a race,,,,, outrageous”

you smack him again, trying to lighten the mood

fast forward to a couple weeks later, and you’re back at that hill waiting for seungcheol to come so that he can introduce you to his prince friends as you have a couple of days off

legitimate advice for new phandom blogs

hey !! so i know sometimes posts like ‘RULES FOR THE PHANDOM XD’ are made and they’re all like “numba one. dan is a squishy bean respect this uwu” but this isn’t gonna be like that lol. im just going to list a few actual things that might help people new to the phandom learn about and become integrated into the community! of course these aren’t ‘rules’ and u dont have to listen to any of it ofc,,, im not here to control ur blog, just here to say what people normally do. feel free to rb whether u are a new blog or not, ill appreciate it either way!

1. be interactive! 

here, unique to our corner of timmy darn communism, we have a lot of like virtual traditions that everyone knows. these help you to make friends and also grow ur blog with some new mutuals. here are some examples.

networks: networks, or nets, are a sort of selective gc, usually with a theme or concept that it’s based around, in which all who wish to be part of fill out an application form that determines whether they get in. this is kinda the one with the most work, as u also have to make a group blog and info post, but it’s definitely worth it. i have made my closest friends in nets (such as @phleurnet which i birthed), and a lot of people on here would say the same. if you want to know more or apply, my friend diana runs an update blog @phandomnets! (examples, these are all open btw: x x x)

meetups: meetups are not in real life, don’t worry. a meetup is when someone organizes a specific time at which we all post thing around a certain theme! for instance, on halloween on tuesday, my friend milo hosted a halloween meetup. usually people post selfies but if u are uncomfortable with that, u can post art, music, or anything else related to the theme. a blog called @phandommeetupwatch keeps track of these! (examples, all happening soon/just happened: x x x)

follow forevers: a follow forever is a big celebration post when u reach a follower count milestone, no matter 50 or 5k. u tag all of the blogs you love, and they reblog it to appreciate u! it’s really positive and shows people how their work has paid off. usually people are tagged in alphabetical order, and sometimes people bold their favorites but the stylization is up to u. (recent examples: x x x)

milestone activities: sometimes people do things for their followers when they reach a follower count that involves their followers requesting something! there are many many forms of this type of thing. a common one is blog rates, in which there is a set template and the blogger rates each blog that sends in an ask using the template (info post ex: x; rate ex: x). there are also url edits (x), name/url moodboards (x), and more. u can certainly come up w an idea of ur own, being creative is great!

talk to people: that’s right dude!!! ye!!! u can message a blog u think is cool, or send an ask if u think something they made or are talking about is interesting, or add something sweet in the tags (more on etiquette later) when u rb their post. additionally, sometimes people stir up discourse, and u should participate in it if u want (past discourse examples: x x). u can also send asks when people reblog ask games, which are a list of questions with a theme (new one of mine ex: x). 

2. play around with your blog!

customizing your blog can start giving you what we call a branding, making you distinguished from other bloggers. this can include everything from as simple as using an icon to coding your own about page. 

themes: a blog can be way more appealing if it is aesthetically pleasing. admittedly, i often follow people just because of the smoothness of their mobile theme. a mobile theme is rather easy to construct as u can do it on ur own with a phone. it is how ur blog looks on a phone. although u don’t have to do this, i recommend sticking to two to four colors on ur theme and avoiding stuffing it with a lot of bright things because it can distract from content. additionally, bloggers often make their descriptions short and succinct. (my fav mobiles: x x x.) on a pc, your blog theme can be customized completely on html, meaning there is a lot of freedom. u don’t have to learn to code for this, bc u can find free themes anywhere, just search ‘free tumblr themes’ on google. once again, be creative, but u shouldn’t overload. (my fav pcs: x x x.)

about pages: in order to avoid chunky descriptions but still let people know the key deets about themselves, bloggers create about pages. sometimes these bout pages are uncoded but u can also use html code if u want to. some common things in an about page are interests, maybe personality types/horoscopes/hogwarts houses, original content, and links to other social media. (examples: x x x)

urls: urls are a key part of your blog’s brand. ‘rebranding’ is what people say if they change their url! if u are tired or bored with your url, changing it is an opportunity to change your theme and other parts of ur blog as well. (url change ex: x). 

saved urls: saved urls are basically when bloggers hoard sideblogs in order to reserve the urls used for them. if you ever encounter a blank blog that has ‘saved’ as its title, that’s probably it. sometimes people like to give away their urls, either as a constant thing (ex: x) or by doing a url giveaway (x). either way, it’s a good opportunity to change it up!

tags: in order to keep their blog cleancut and organized, a lot of bloggers have special tags for certain people, certain topics, and/or certain types of media. many people in the phandom particularly have tags for dan and phil that match (strawberries and cream, lune and sole, etc). if they have many of these tags, there can be a page for their tags on their blog. this page can be coded with special html or just a regular tumblr page, it doesn’t really matter. but it’s very useful for those who visit your blog, and makes it easy for u to navigate older posts as well! (examples: x x x)

3. learn to make og content!

producing original content helps you establish what your strengths are and why people should follow you. it also allows u to contribute to the fanbase, and gives u a chance of being noticed by dnp! and the validation is lovely. there are many options if u want to make something. 

gifs: gifs are an ART here in the phandom, and its mechanisms still perplex me to this day bc ive never tried it. u probably already know what a gif is, but if not, its essentially a short animation made in photoshop that repeats. gifmakers are often distinguished by a unique coloring (example gifmakers: x x x), such as my friend emily’s smooth dark blue tint (x). it can be a long process to learn how to gif but it is very rewarding in the end, from what i’ve heard. (tutorials: x x)

art: there is a very wide range of phanartists, all with such talents, either digital or traditional, that you can draw inspirations from for your own work. you can make cartoons, comics, realism, abstract, nsfw even, or any mix (or none) of the former. artists on tumblr definitely deserve more attention than they get here on tumblr, so be sure to show appreciation towards them! (my fav artists: x x x)

edits: edits are the Graphic Designs of our community and are usually very aesthetically pleasing. they can be centered around a certain event, like a video or something dnp made, or just for fun. the more practice you get making them, the more dexterous u’ll become. they can be a great tool if u like the design aspect of art but don’t want to actually draw. (edit makers: x x)

icons: icons are just the little profile picture that u can insert for ur blog. it’s really easy and fun to make them, kind of like a lazy version of edits. you can make them using photoshop or an app like picsart or medibang, and it doesn’t take a lot of time. more on how to use icons in section 4. (examples: x x x) (my lil tutorial: x)

moodboards: moodboards are nine pictures arranged 3 by 3 that have a certain color scheme. it’s kind of like a collage except the photo feature here separates the pictures for u. there are a lot of innovative moodboard makers that stun me w how pretty it looks or how they arrange the pics. moodboards are also an easy and fun option! (moodboard tags: x x x)

textposts: this is by far the easiest and more common form of content u will find. it’s just writing about dnp in a textpost! if a textpost isn’t very serious, people also call it a meme or shitpost. shitposting is defs on the rise here so its a good business to get into. it’s also a great outlet for ur emotions or personal connections to what dnp do! (example talk tags: x x x)

fics: by far the most famous media to come out of here, phanfiction is a popular form of phan indulgence. u have probably heard of the most scarring ones (list: x), but there is actually a really vast range of it, not just creepy smut! some other genres are fluff, angst, and slow burns. u will discover that, despite the sterotype, not all fanfiction is bad. you can find lovely fics on @phanfictioncatalogue by genre, au, or topic. and, if u need help writing something, many writers would love to help. (a few well-known fics: x x x x x)

4. tumblr etiquette!

i know tumblr might seem like a simple social media (or perhaps not after u’ve read all the above?) but there’s a lot of things that u just....u just don’t do. it’s sort of like virtual manners, and if u don’t follow them, then it’s unlikely that people will like ur blog. once again, this is by no means me forcing u to run ur blog a certain way. it just happens that the types of ppl who break these rules are who we mock in gcs :////////. so yea, here’s some advice.

credits: if u decide to use someone’s art, edit, gif, or icon on the theme of ur blog, check what they require of u before u use it. most content creators strongly ask for credit in the description of ur blog, either by link or like ‘icon/header/art by ____’. it is just a common courtesy to the person who spent time on that, and if u think credit will ruin the aesthetic of ur blog, a) u probably don’t have an aesthetic in the first place and b) learn to appreciate art, binch. 

anonymity: anon asks can be very powerful either negatively or positively depending on how u yield them, so make sure that u are careful with what u send. compliments are always welcome and criticism as well, but blatant rudeness or hate will do nothing. u will only make someone feel bad about themselves and it will not accomplish anything. also, u face the threat of all their friends turning u into a meme. 

sensitivity: a lot of people here are way too easily offended by harmless jokes, a common example in the phandom being when we insult dnp affectionately and people take it way too much to heart. please don’t start drama over something w no real meaning. however, there are times when it is indeed necessary. if u want to criticise a blogger, be respectful of them simultaneously. by all means, if u spot someone being racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynist, or the like, feel free to call them out on it. but beforehand, make sure that u have done ur research and are educated on the topic, or u could turn out to be blatantly wrong.

The funny thing: the end of the world didn’t happen all at once.

No, in actuality, he—like everybody else—watched as the world they knew slowly but surely get devoured by the End. Denial and delayed panic was what killed society, he remembered Laurance would say; how so many of them didn’t want to see, so they all played and clung to the words of those in higher power would sort this out.

This isn’t some regular ‘crisis’. Fucking look—those shots were definitely going through and they keep getting back up, keep walking.

The video was freaky. Some nondescript warzone, far far away his little off-campus apartment, as bulky soldiers took aim at a tattered-clothed woman who limped with a lifeless gait. The noise was almost hard to pick up between the gun shots, but low, gut-twisting moan, animalistic and inhuman coming from the woman. The video continued, the woman finally goes down but where she falls, descended from alleys and further down the road.

He shouldn’t be scrolling through comments, because they always unnerved him more than the video himself. People chiming in and linking posts, more videos, foreign articles, etc. of ‘proof’ that whatever was going down overseas wasn’t another exotic disease to spook flyers from traveling out of the country.

He clicked another tab, scrolling over his timeline—and it’s like another mind frame, people peacefully oblivious and instead enthusing about how excited they were for the upcoming summer, their plans, rants about some T.V. show. Maybe they’re like him, quietly reading and researching and losing sleep over the possibility of a horror movie scenario come to life. Maybe they didn’t care. He glanced at the notification of a new direct message, from a smiling woman, though her smile was reserved, with blue hair and giving a peace sign as her icon.

He wasn’t completely alone in this. Finding weird solace from a person he didn’t think he would find, the serious looking Katelyn from the theatre course they taken in fall together—clicking the message, she linked a couple of articles with a following message:

I couldn’t sleep. Sorry. – 5 mins ago

In the dark, only lit by his phone screen, Travis chuckled.

He clicked the articles she sent.

They were all the same; different politicians who say Nothing to worry about yet their actions show the opposite, as ‘outbreaks’ of ‘riots’, cities declaring state of emergency and quick federal government actions. Small time local news who report who uptick in rabid cases were reported and safety precautions to watch out any animals who could carry the disease. As well as Mayor Malik updated the curfew, initiating tomorrow at midnight.

Their friendship blooming out over paranoia over the possible end wasn’t what he had in mind when he stumbled across her late night links to some strange and obscure website five months back. She deleted them an hour later but… it didn’t stop him or his big mouth from asking, “What the hell was that last night.”

There was a moment of embarrassment flash in her eyes, her shoulders squaring in a defensive position as she turned herself fully towards him. “Do you really want to know?” Her tone asked a different question, one trying to gauge how serious he was. He nodded.

And it went down from there.

She didn’t say they were friends, but soon their discussion over the weird things they dug up turned to casual talk—and the causal talk, in real life and online, turned into something every day. It almost became their thing, as they started to withdraw from other people. They chatted about what if scenarios, plans and as the months showed more, more and more cases of this epidemic, they started to stockpile supplies.

Travis hummed, acutely aware of the way his smile widen and the turn-around with his mood.

He stared at the message longer than needed, as if doing so would decipher a hidden message. It didn’t—but it was worth a shot, pun intended. Lately, despite the possible end of the world being imminent that spurred this doom-prepping fanaticism within them, he wondered if she was catching the hints.

Of course, their friendship was sincere. As well as his panic and general anxiety about the stately affairs of the world.

He was but a person, nonetheless. And sometimes, shallow feelings turned into actual feelings saddled up next to that friendship borne of strange circumstance. True, he was scared to gamble away what they got—but the curiosity took hold like a cat.

For the non-matte/painted/printed Tangle Jr knock offs, I would recommend you to the listing where I bought my old-logo-style ones on eBay: $1.97 USD with free shipping. My review is here, but I will mention that while I didn’t feel that positively disposed at the time, having handled a few different knock-offs since has made me realise that, for knock-offs, they’re quite good. I have to say that there’s no guarantee you will get the same Tangles I got, but it might be worth a try.

Unfortunately, I don’t have much in the way of alternative listings. The other listings that had similar branded-looking photos sent me the really cheap-and-stiff Tangles. When I next need to buy more Tangles, I’ll try a few different listings and see what is sent me, but for now I’ve just the one listing. It’s a bit of a gamble buying on eBay, honestly. You might be better off checking out local toy shops for the branded Tangle Jrs - I know Mod Rainbow saw them at their local Coles for $4 AUD each. (I checked several and still haven’t found them. Sigh.) If you can get them at Toyworld prices, it might be worth the higher costs to have a higher-quality Tangle Jr.

As for “textured tangle”, I’m assuming that you mean the Tangle Jr Textured and not the Original Tangle. If you do mean the Original Textured, I know of no way of getting one here in Australia for under $30 AUD, never mind $15 AUD. I’ve got resources on this post, some of which offer international shipping, but it will be a pricey purchase (which is why I don’t own one).

The Tangle Jr Textured, however, is much easier to find locally.

Depending on where you are, I’d check out Toyworld, Mr Toys Toyworld, Kidstuff, Games World and Mind Games (Melbourne, Geelong, Tasmania, Brisbane and Gold Coast) stores to see if one is close to you. (All links go to store locators or that individual store’s website, in the case of the Mind Game stores.) All of these have been recommended by Aussie stimmers as stocking Tangles, their prices ranging from about $6-10 AUD each. The ones most commonly in stock, based on what I’ve seen in various stores, are the standard Tangle Jr and the Tangle Jr Textured, followed by the Metallics. The hardest to reliably find, at least in my experience, is the Tangle Jr Fuzzy!

Buying a Tangle Jr from a local store, while you have the hassle of transport costs, is like to be cheaper than buying online. Either the Tangles are a little lower priced (my local Toyworld prices all but the Textured Metallics at $6 AUD, but prices often vary between Toyworld stores) or the additional costs of bus fare/petrol/parking are less than those of internal shipping.

As a comparison to show everyone how Australia Post makes everything ridiculous, Sensory Oasis for Kids has the Tangle Jr Textured for $9.95 AUD, but since flat rate shipping is also $9.95 AUD, this is only affordable if you’re buying many things at once. (If you’re in Melbourne, though, it’s well worth the trip in person just to look at all the things!) The Therapy Store has them for $8.95 AUD, but the shipping is also $8.95 AUD (and not flat rate, either).

If you’re like me and time a run to Toyworld when I’m already going to town for something else, transport costs don’t add much to the Tangle. Buying online, however, is just absurd. In all honesty, I do not have an online source for Tangles I’d recommend to Aussies as affordable, not because the Tangles are hideously expensive but because of the shipping.

Seriously, anon, you shouldn’t have to pay $20 AUD for a Tangle Jr Textured. You shouldn’t even have to pay $15 AUD.

There are Tangle Jr Textured knock-offs: check out this eBay listing, $2.75 USD with free worldwide shipping. (I just purchased one because curiosity and the realisation that fake Tangles are becoming my fidget specialisation.) Please note that I have absolutely no idea as to the quality (the listing photo is that of a branded Tangle Jr Textured, but so far I’ve had one order resemble the listing photo) so, like everything on eBay, it is a risk, but for under $4 AUD delivered it might be worth it if you don’t have a local store. If the sale goes through and mine arrives, I’ll absolutely give everyone a comparative review.

    Callow glanced down nervously and tugged at the hem of his shirt as he padded down the street to the corner coffee shop. The phone in his pocket buzzed and he pulled it out, quickly swiping the screen to read the message from his sister as he padded along.

    To Itchy: No Blinky, Im gonna to get ur dumb coffee an run.

    Callow grumbled as his phone buzzed once more, he pocketed the device with a small scowl, not bothering to read her newest message. He drew in a deep breath, Callow could see the bright cheery flowerpots on the sidewalk outside of the coffee shop’s windows as he turned down the street. Callow may or may not have fallen for the cute barista that works there the one time he ran to get Glitch coffee because ‘Cal, It’s to die for. If I don’t have their coffee at least once a day, I swear to the gods I think I might keel over.’ So here he was, running to get the coffee this oh so wonderful early ass Sunday morning.

    He casually pulled back the doors to the shop and let the smell of baking pasties and creamer fill his nose, smiling as the bell chimed overhead and he joined the line. Sundays weren’t bad. People slept in, and today seemed to be proof as there were only two others ahead of him. He held the door open for someone as he entered, and they fell in line behind him.

    His phone buzzed consistently in his pocket and he let out a small frown before pulling it out to check his newer messages.

    Callow glanced up as the people in front of him stepped up to the register. His heart fluttered as he saw the familiar barista there, she smiled at her customer and grabbed a cup to write their order.

    The bell by the doors chimed as someone else stepped in but Callow was fixed on the cute barista. Her hair was cut short in a bob, which today was pinned back by a blue beret in her golden hair, her bangs had been streaked with blue and magenta. He put his phone back and was about to step forward as the couple stepped away but a looming figure stepped in front of him.

    “Hey!” Callow scoffed but the other person didn’t pay any attention to him, the woman didn’t even glance to him as she stepped up to the register where the barista was, and began to order. “I’d like a large, triple caramel roasted latte with an extra shot-”

    “Will the next customer please step up?” The barista paid no mind to the other customer and looked over to Callow, she grinned widely and Callow returned the smile, his cheeks flushing.

    “Hey! I was ordering!” The woman demanded, her foot tapping on the tile floor in frustration.

    “I can definitely take your order after these other two people” The barista kept her honey sweet smile, and big ol’ doe eyes on as she gestured to Callow and the person behind him.

    “No, no sweetie.” The woman fluttered her hands as if she was talking to a five-year-old. “I’m ordering my coffee, now. I’m running late for a meeting and need it, now.”

    “You can wait just behind these lovingly patient people too and I will be more than happy to make your coffee so you can be on your way.” The barista makes a small shoo movement but kept her smile plastered on.

     The woman sneered in disgusted, as if waiting was something she’s never done or heard of. “I could have had my coffee and been out the door by now! Honestly, what good are you? Where is your supervisor? I want to speak with your manager!” Her shrill voice rang out.

    The barista bowed her head, “Oh course, one moment please.” She turned and walked back behind the swinging doors.

    Callow shifted his weight uneasily, he looked over to the woman in front of him and the doors to the back room. They were still swinging as the barista caught them and added back through, this time a male following her, he was slightly taller and had his hair tied back in a bun. “This is her, Psi.” The barista said nodding from the woman to the man.

    Psi cranked out a fake smile and said “Thank you, Gamma.” Callow’s heart sunk as the barista turned and went back into the back room, he hoped that she was alright… Unfortunately, the woman’s shrill screeching caught his attention and he was dragged out of his thoughts and back into the now.

    “Your insulant barista refused to take my order and now I’m late for my very important meeting!”

    “I am so sorry about this, I am sure we can accommodate-”

    “Oh, yes you will!” The woman pointed a crooked finger at Psi “I want her fired and my coffee free now!” Callow’s mouth dropped.

    Psi raised both hands in mock surrender “I am sorry madam but I do not hold that kind of authority, if you would like I can get you the Owner and you may take it up with them.”

    She made a shooing motion, her face twisted up. “Yes yes! Go do that, right now!” She barked at him and Psi went into the back once more.

     Not even a moment later, Psi and Gamma returned through the doors.

    Gamma lifted a small hand in a half wave.

    “What is she still doing here? I thought I was going to talk to the store owner and have you fired!” The woman snarled.

    Psi shrugged as if he couldn’t care less what was happening or that the woman was practically foaming at the mouth in rage. “You told me to get the store owner, and so here she is.” He gestured to his adorable co-worker.

    Gamma’s face split into an ear to ear grin as she placed her palms on the counter and leaned onto it. “Hello again ma’am, I do believe we’ve spoken before. And I will be more than happy to take your order, after theirs.” She gave an indication to people in line and then called out “May I take the next customer please?”

The woman looked as if Gamma had just slapped her across the face, she took a step back, her teeth grit as she tore her gaze away from Gamma long enough to see Callow and the other patron in line. “Fine!” She spat out in disgust. “I’m never buying coffee here again!”

    Callow watched as Gamma tried to hide her amusement, Psi crossed his arms with a light-hearted shrug as the lady stormed out. “Gamma, why do you always do this to me?”

    He stepped to the other register as Gamma motioned Callow forward and Psi took the next customer.

    “Uh…” Callow froze up as he locked eyes with Gamma, a blush creeping up his face as he stood in front of her at the register.

    “It’s Callow, right?” Gamma said as she grabbed one of the cups by the register, he was about to open his mouth when she said. “You come in almost every single day and get the same two drinks.”

    “Oh, yeah. The medium tea and large coffee with milk.”

    Gamma hummed as she wrote the orders on the cups. She placed them down and looked back up at him as Callow handed her payment for the drinks. “Who’s the second for if you don’t mind me asking? You don't really strike me as a coffee drinker.”

    “My sister, she swears by it that without your coffee, she wouldn’t make it through the day.” Callow beamed as Gamma tilted her head to the side as she laughed.  

    “Wow! What an honor! If you don’t mind, I’d like to give you my number. I love meeting people who think so highly of my shop!”

    Callow grinned “Of course!” and graciously accepted the napkin that Gamma had written her number on, he pulled out a twenty and put it in the tip-jar.

    Gamma turned to make the coffee and Callow stepped away from the counter.

    He watched as Gamma and Psi effortlessly worked around each other as the two shifted places constantly in a synchronized dance behind the counter to grab the ingredients that they needed. Sooner than Callow wanted to admit he was tearing his gaze away and Gamma was sliding his two drinks into his reach.

“Ya know...” She mused with that cute small smile on her face. “I hear the Owner here is really nice”

    Callow grabbed the warm cups gratefully, he inhaled the scent of freshly brewed tea and chuckled. “Do you think they’d mind if I asked out one of the employees on a date? I’d just hate for them to get fired.”

    Gamma’s eyes gleamed brightly “Actually, I think the Owner gets off at 8pm? If you want to ask them yourself?”

    “I’ll be sure to swing by to pick them up” He grinned and she waved him goodbye as he turned and sauntered back out the door. The chime overhead sounded miles away and Callow began to imagine his date later tonight with the cute barista behind the counter with the big doe eyes.

hi all ive been with a car insurance for a year called auto direct and my insurance is over now.. therefore i have approved a full years no claims bonus with them... well what happens now how do i recieve it ? like a certificate or summin? they havnt even rang me or even sent any thing out to me ... i rang them the other week and they said they will send a confirmation of a yrs NCB... do i need this proof or do i just tell my next insurance to call them for comfirmation?? thanx another question is i got insured with auto direct for 2000 for the year. i had 9 points drink driving and i hadnt had any no claims bonus of course.. the car was a ford fiesta xr2i 1.8 16v 1994.. but now 6 of the points have expired and are off my license and also i now have a years no claims bonus ..all i have on my license now is 3 points and dr10 (drink driving bad i know) anyone have a rough idea how much this will come down now i have a bit more of a appealing record lol? thanks for time yall tc

ok, due to being in the hospital giving birth, i missed a second payment on my car insurance in one term. i was told by my broker that was it, there was nothing i could do, they would cancel. my insurance company is ING. i said ok so what next? she told me on july 10th that they were sending out a registewred letter that day stating it was cancelled (my payment was late on june 25th). 2 wks later i had not received anything so i called my broker again. this was at 1 pm (they close at 4) and no one called me back. finally, i called back again, she called ING and called me back saying ok they said if you can pay it today it wont be cancelled (i had asked MULTIPLE times if this was an option, i was told no) by the time she told me that, it was 330 pm.
