DOING A DOMESTIC AU HEADCANONS FOR DABIHAWKS BC THEY DESERVE IT <33
Nest beds. The softest, most roundest bed you could think of covered with the most random patterns of pillows and blankets. It's partially covered by a canopy bc the boys likes the darkness.
Toga, Tokoyami, and Shiggy are their gremlin kids. Toga is like a cat that goes in and out of their home whenever she wants headpats or to be fed. They have a joint custody with Kurogiri on Tenko, depending on his level of brattiness for the week. Tokoyami is goth birb child, so basically, the only child they acknowledge.
Contrary to popular belief, its not actually Hawks who found all the shinies decorated around the house. Dabi is one hell of a curious villain and would pocket all the shinies he could find, presenting the gifts to Hawks like an oversized cat.
Both of them have the habit of staring but very different in the way they do it. Dabi would pretty much be a gremlin cat, guilt tripping you to pay them attention while he single handedly destroys all your productivity for the day. Meanwhile, Hawks would be the adorable kind. The kind of stare you coo at while also finding lowkey creepy.
Their house is like a revolving door for both heroes and villains. Sometimes they come home to Toga and Ochako just chilling in their hammock all tangled up together. Other times, its Rumi and Shiggy staring at them at 4am from the bedroom door, asking where the cereal is placed.
Shouto has the same grabby hands personality as his big brother. Whenever he visits, 90% of the time one of their shiny decorations inevitably goes missing. Hawks' absolute stink eye whenever the pro hero sees him is so deserved.
BAKUGOU KATSUKI HAVING WEEKLY VISITS TO THEIR HOUSE. To everyone else's horror, touya and katsuki get on like a house on fire. Their insults seem to have a language of their own, and Keigo is helpless to do anything as he watches his husband and this gremlin kid have a shouting match in their kitchen while making the most mouth watering cinnamon buns ever.
The whole Class 1-A once stayed at their house for a day. A frantic Aizawa comes knocking at their door, sees the absolute mayhem, and promptly walks out - probably about to plan a date with Hizashi.
If Shiggy is in the house, Spinner is probably somewhere in there too. They come as a set, buy 1 get 1 free lmao.
dabihawks healing their inner child by fucking around and doing all the things people below the age of 16 do. Disney and Barbie movie marathons are a weekly occurrence. Dabi absolutely adores Megamind, while Hawks leans more towards Rapunzel.

(if the ask game is still open) megamind au for the mha crew? 👀
Ok so when I think of the megamind aesthetic, gonna be honest, the only one who can come close is Toshinori's villain outfit so expect this to get derailed...
1- on his home planet, Toshinori is considered weak and powerless, but Mirai, his family minion, can receive visions of the future and declares Toshinori will be very strong one day. Uh, and also that the planet is going to explode. His parents put Toshinori and Mirai on a lot escape pod and yeet him as the planet dies. On a neighboring planet, a shapeshifting baby, even younger than Toshinori, is also yeeted.
2- Toshinori grows up on earth around the dubious influence of Sorahiko (no hero system to conveniently align his morality to), Nana (has more convictions than Sorahiko but doesn't exactly prioritize legalities either), En (straight up thief), Giran (you know me), and while he always has the drive to help people- especially after learning that he can charge up power from the yellow sun in order to get up to three hours of strength in a boosted body- the first attempt at this goes... Badly. He helps save a family from a car wreck, but his inhuman eyes and smoking form scare them and he's attacked. But he tries again! And this time a young woman shows up dressed like a superhero in a comic, declares herself Lady Nagant, a natural born hero, and shapeshifts her arm into a gun. Toshinori quickly exits when he realizes he won't be able to talk her down, and on getting home, everyone decides if he's going to be treated like a villain and monster for trying to help people, might as well embrace that. Cue an absolute incredible villain costume
3- Mirai has a vision of a scientist working to help them engineer weapons to give them an edge against Nagant, so Toshinori and he go to Professor Shield. Mirai suggests kidnapping the man's daughter to hold as leverage, but Toshinori doesn't want to involve children and also is pretty sure that's a great way for David to put a bomb in anything he builds for Toshinori to hold closely. But turns out David doesn't need convincing! He's 100% on Toshinori's side, but the decide that to protect the Shields, they will all pretend that they are hostages. This means whenever Toshinori is arrested, Mirai grabs Melissa and leaves, and it's a fifty fifty chance if David follows because he can't lose her too, or if he's rescued for a few days before Toshinori escapes and collects him again. David is kept in increasingly secure bases each time in an attempt to stop this from happening but nothing ever works lol
4- the only person who suspects something else is going on with that professor is photographer and reporter Tokuda Taneo, but he's still chasing the story behind both villain and Nagant. Endeavor is the warden and he has a completely one sided rivalry with Toshinori, even attempting to get his kids in on it. Only Touya throws himself into this with enthusiasm, and Toshinori is kinda perturbed that Enji would use a child like that. This offends him, since Toshinori clearly doesn't have a problem using the Professor's child against him, so really Enji is worthy of it too. Toshinori decides to leave that bag of crazy alone and focus on escape plans.
5- so, Nagant landed in the home of a rich politician, but when she was young she was fully turned over to the government to make a superhero. She was happy for this at first, and gave herself bright purple hair (she was under orders to look human, but she pointed out that would be possible with hair dye, and it did make her look more like a comic book hero. She also made herself look older than the teenager she was at her debut). But eventually she got worse and worse orders, and kept being told to just kill Toshinori instead of taking him in, and the branch broke when they told her to kill the Shields as well, since the hostage thing was a farce. Nagant pointed out that even if David was a villian, Melissa was a kid who was a baby when this all started. Her handler doesn't care. The worst Toshinori's really done is waste taxpayer money on the prison continually being rebuilt. Her handler doesn't care. They want to finish up this All Smite job so Nagant can move on to more important cases. Nagant picks up that this is bad, but her only way out would be if she dies so....
A fake death it is! David is pretty sure he's used copper in other machines before but ok, whatever, they won! And Toshinori mostly leaves ruling to Mirai because he believes it's important for the city to have a hero and they accidentally gave another kid shape shifting abilities, but young Keigo wants to be a hero so badly and is picking it up too like a natural! And turns out Toshinori really likes mentoring... But then Keigo gets grabbed by the government too and leaves a note that he's running away with his mom for a better life, so Toshinori, alone, isn't having the best day when he runs into a boy even younger than Melissa who asks if he can be a hero without a power. Toshinori wonders why he never thought of that, and says he can.
Mirai does not approve of Toshinori wasting time training another new hero, this one without any powers- but when he has a vision of Keigo standing over Toshinori's body, bloody feather in hand, he gets even more desperate to convince him. When Toshinori refuses, Mirai leaves.
(in the other room, David frowns, and begins working on altering a hologram so it can fit around a person in disguise, making them look like Toshinori. He's learned over the years that Mirai's visions can't be prevented, but they sure as hell can be misinterpreted)

✩ WEEKLY FIC ROUND-UP ✩
A collection of fics I’ve read (/reread) and thoroughly enjoyed in the past week-ish from all kinds of fandoms and genres.
BNHA
the curse of the anime protagonist by masterdipster
Or; the one where Izuku is blessed with the most heroic quirk in existence.
The problem is, er, being a hero's the last thing he wants to be.
you make it better like that by favspacetwink
“Is she their biological daughter?” Akiyama asks. “I know she has some kind of hardening quirk, but neither of them have anything close to dark hair like she does.”
“Red Riot’s hair is actually black,” Ogawa says. “He dyes it red. Don’t ask how I know that.”
“My whole life is a lie,” Nakamura mutters quietly to himself.
hey there, demons by Origamidragons
The first channel pops up around ten days after the Dabi/Touya debacle. It has a blank icon, and is just called Himi and her Friends :)
Or: The League of Villains becomes YouTube famous, takes over the Internet, and crashes headfirst into an unwanted redemption arc.
The Rights and Obligations of Fated Parents: Aizawa's Messy Journey to Parenthood by Hayato (TheLennyBunny), SugaSugar
Aizawa's heart has always been hopelessly big for those who needed help. Growing up taught him how to obscure that fact to protect himself after a few hard lessons but he never gives up. A parent's love is to be trampled on time and again but always ready to help. He didn't begrudge not having a marked parent of his own- well, outside Nedzu in his own odd way- maybe it even made him determined enough to deserve the twenty one child marks on his back.
If only he didn't have to get his hopes up every year he teaches a new class at UA. Maybe... Maybe this year he'd at least find one of them. Right?
pressure points by ohmygodwhy
Shouto becomes an adult at five years old. He finally feels like a kid at fifteen.
Spiked by aconstantstateofbladerunner
There's no such thing as a free meal.
BNHA/Marvel Crossover
I'm A Huge Fan by Cassidae
Peter isn't sure what to expect from an international meeting of Heroes, but meeting a fan of his isn't it. It doesn't help that he's totally starstruck the entire time.
What's he supposed to do after embarrassing himself like that?
Megamind
Percussion. Strings. Winds. Words by setepenre_set
Metro Man realizes that Megamind wants to be killed and starts frantically thinking of ways to cheer his little blue buddy up. And, well, as Minion says, kidnapping Miss Ritchi always seems to make Megamind happy…
Miraculous Ladybug
to set the world in motion by GuardianKarenTerrier
"Well," Sabine says, much more thoughtfully than Ladybug had expected or been prepared for. "If we legally adopt you both, son, that might make the wedding a bit tricky."
"Ma-Madame Cheng!" Ladybug exclaims, feeling herself flush brightly. "I'm- I'm flattered, really, thank you, but this- this should only be temporary, we don't really need-" Marinette swallows, trying not to look at Chat Noir. "Um, adoption."
She shoots a quick glance over at her partner after all, but his sudden starstruck look is both the opposite of reassuring and sends some unidentifiable emotion shooting through her. She knows he's been enjoying this particular akuma fight more than she has- she has the really, deeply unsettling sense that Chat Noir didn't have this kind of fun as a child before and he seems to be trying to make up for as much lost time as possible as fast as possible.
ATLA
✩ several small fires by ohmygodwhy
That’s not something he can bring himself to think about, all the way. If the war is wrong, it means his scar is wrong and if his scar is wrong it means the war is wrong. His nation is wrong. Everything he’s been trying to do his whole life would be wrong. And what is he supposed to do with that? He can’t go back to the way it was - and that’s all he’s ever wanted: to go back to the way things were before.
(When Zuko gets home, he finds that he doesn’t quite fit right.)
East and West by naggeluide
"Earth King Kuei," said Fire Lord Zuko. "Would you like to go on a field trip with me?"
…..
Aw, hell naw. Toph had dibs. And she is not letting this happen without her.
Like Fire and Water by Setari
Hakoda and Ursa got married several months ago, and have been living together in Ba Sing Se ever since in happily wedded bliss. They knew they'd have to tell their children eventually, they just hadn't expected it to happen all at once. Nor that their kids would already know each other.
Coming Back All Changed by WinterSky101
Zuko returns home, just like he’s wanted for the past three years, and finds he doesn’t quite fit.
my hands and feet are weaker than before by ohmygodwhy
he had looked at this boy and thought, so so selfishly: here is your chance to make things right, here is your chance to help where you failed before.
(iroh slips up; they don't talk about it.)

Redemption Arcs
A well done redemption arc can be amazing (see Zuko, Megamind), but generally, the basis of redemption comes from that person either being evil as a reaction to an overwhelming and seemingly inescapable situation (i.e.  evil as the only option) or thinking they are doing the right thing. In both situations, the redemption comes from recognizing the error and correcting.  Some argue Enji “Endeavor” Todoroki falls into the latter category (i.e. he thought he was doing the right thing). However, the idea that he thinks he’s doing the right thing and corrects only at the time when he does suggests - to me - that he isn’t actually remorseful, but that his last remaining victim (in whom he actually has a vested interest) has the ability and means to not only escape him but cause his furthered pursuit of the same course to have consequences. Which is also why any off-screen or otherwise move toward his wife, Rei, simply looks like an attempt to foster a connection through which he could achieve a new victim (i.e. if she forgives him, he has a chance at a new child).  We also have no idea what happened to his eldest son, Touya. Is he dead? Is he Dabi? If he is Dabi, were the scars a result of the father? I don’t just mean whether Endeavor’s fire caused the damage which likely would’ve nearly killed Dabi - but did he push his son to train in a dangerous manner or pressure his son toward suicide. Deku comments that charges could’ve been brought against Kacchan if Deku had committed suicide because of provocation, so if the big secret around Touya is the belief Endeavor pushed him to suicide (whether successful or not), that’s another charge in addition to abuse (emotional, physical, etc.) to his wife and children.
I don’t give a hoot what Endeavor says. He can claim he wants to be the hero his son is proud of until he’s blue in the face, but nothing he has done suggests he’s changed at all. His actions as a professional hero are out of a desire to be praised and basically worshipped. He isn’t selfless, and self-destruction doesn’t mitigate the dubiousness of his motives.
Neither Rei nor Fuyumi can serve as proof contrary. Rei has been his longest victim, and he had to woo her rather than having her under his thumb from birth, so he knows how to manipulate her. Fuyumi and Natsuo didn’t have the sort of quirk Endeavor wanted, and we’re told prior to Shoto, Touya endured his father’s closest attention. We saw how Endeavor treated his youngest son, and Touya was the eldest. However, Natsuo loathes Endeavor while Fuyumi makes excuses for him and wants to forgive him. She doesn’t generally give much reasoning behind her desires (other than expressions about being a normal family and Endeavor being their father). Perhaps she’s taking cues from when she was young, and her mother said something similar when Fuyumi saw the way Endeavor treated her elder brother. Will we ever know? Probably not. Natsuo seems to take his cue from Shoto. He recognizes the neglect he suffered was the lesser of two evils with their father, and in the manga, he’s been supporting his brother in attitude it seems. Again, like with Fuyumi, this could all be personality based. They could have the same exact information, but Fuyumi is simply more forgiving. It’s complicated especially as she’s the only daughter (which could have influenced the treatment she received, but that’s a marriage tool (women used to create strategic alliances) rant for another day).
For me, I will always hate Endeavor. Anyone who likes him in the manga (i.e. Hawks) will immediately be colored in distrust and suspicions that they’re equally questionable behind closed doors / if given the chance, and if we get that final confirmation that Dabi is Touya, I want all of Endeavor’s deeds to come to light, and I want to see the way that shakes the already rattled faith in heroes. Honestly, if Dabi wanted to wreck the world of heroes, that information (with supporting evidence) to the right reporter would be disastrous.
Dabi has killed. He should go to jail, and honestly, if he is Touya, he needs some serious psychological help to deal with the abuse he faced as a child and the kind of obvious body horror he has faced likely as a means to / a result of his escape from his father’s influence (I mean, seriously, he didn’t heal right / well so ‘almost died’ seems to be stating it softly).
I’ve worked in forensics. I’ve seen cases where kids and spouses were abused, and out of fear, they found ways to kill their abusers - but because of their fear, it is rarely a crime of passion (though there have been cases where sons fight back or step in for the first time and are shocked to have defeated their abuser), but most plan it out because they feel they have no choice, and more often than not, I saw them get extremely hard sentences because abuse can be difficult to prove especially if it hasn’t been documented (i.e. photographs / doctors reports of repeated injuries, etc).
We see the Todoroki abuse hasn’t been documented. The only bit that was came from Rei burning Shoto, so I could 100% see a lawyer arguing that if someone was abusing the kids, it was her and not Endeavor. She’s the one that was locked up. Nothing has happened to Endeavor. The kids are still in his custody, so even if she did talk, nobody did anything. Nobody listened.
What does this lengthy rant mean?
It means the “redemption” arc for Enji “Endeavor” Todoroki isn’t one. He lost control of his prized victim, and we have no proof he wouldn’t go right back to doing the exact same thing if he had another child. Nothing he has done contradicts that.
How could they fix that?
If Dabi is Touya, have Endeavor not fight back. Have Endeavor recognize his eldest and do whatever it takes to give his son a redemption arc - to bring his son back into the light and damn the consequences to himself. Have Endeavor claim Dabi/Touya the moment he recognizes him. That is his son; he screwed up and pushed him to the breaking point, and have him throw himself on the pyre (not necessarily literally) to bring him back. Then - I would accept redeemed Endeavor.

like, its not that I want everyone to hate all villains and want them all to be horribly killed. If i did, do you honestly think my fav series would include steven universe and avatar: the last airbender?
like, i don’t hate villains on principle. Loving a villainous character isn’t a bad thing! and there’s degrees of villainy, from megamind’s largely performative and harmless antagonism, to the stuff I acutally DO hate. There is a difference between, say, Megamind and the likes of the Red Skull or Darkseid.
(Something similar applies to why I don’t have a lot of antagonism for the Diamonds in SU, but HATE Decepticon apologism. The situations read very differently, despite some superficial similarities.)
But what bothers me a lot is when people completely ignore a villain who has done genuinely horrible things, or play them for being heroic.
Dabi in BNHA is a big one for me, because I’m baffled by how the fandom keeps portraying him as an anti-hero crusading against abuse and who dearly loves his friends and it’s like... weird to me. Because canonically, he is legitimately an actual serial killer.
He has a massive body count of people that, it is implied, simply happened to annoy him.
He has no real friends in the League, and while narratively he’s so powerful its important to remove him from the playing field alot, in-universe he just seems to not really care about anyone else. Even when one of them is hurt, he just remarks that they would be useful for his goals.
This MIGHT be him putting on a front, but at face value, he honestly comes off as a supremely selfish, totally ‘all about ME’ murderer who has no real concern for anyone but himself.
If he IS Touya Todoroki, this makes him objectively worse than his father, and a logical extreme of Endeavor’s cruelty. The man who hurt his family for the sake of his ambitions, mirrored by his son, who now kills anyone that mildly annoys him, who has no friends or family but pawns for his own goals, who is pure selfishness and vindictiveness.
the key issue is that what bothers me is when people take a genuinely evil or malicious character and completely ignore those traits, or actively warp the story to make them the real hero when that is absolutely not the case at all.

Happy anniversary of Destiel Superhell, Vladimir Putin stepping down, Todoroki Touya, Megamind, politics fuckery, “hell planet” discovery, “the moon is wet” discovery, Johnny Depp leaving the Harry Potter franchise, that girl found under a trapdoor in her room, 1D babygate, Sherlock S5 rumors, Hetalia(? Idk man I just wrote down Hetalia in my notes), System of a Down releases music after 12 years, and, of fucking course, a dashcon 2021 scare.
Anyways, take this with a boulder of salt. November 5th was a bit of a collective nightmare, but I’m not sure if we ever woke up.
