Genshin x Pregnant reader.
Part 1.
Part 2
Part 3
(It will take a long time for the other parts to come out so bear with me PLEASE)
It will still be GN!
Characters: Venti, Diluc, Kaeya, Aether, Zhongli, Xiao, Childe.
Warnings: Pregnancy, throwing up, screaming, pain, fainting, water breaking, mentions of death (no dying), alcohol, tearing, unexpected second baby.
Notes: not proofread, okay some of these are WAY different than the others but I'm just gonna leave it like that.
PLEASE READ!!! You need to know this for the story!! VVV
Venti, Xiao, and Zhongli will have longer stories. Only because I really want to add the difficulty of their pregnancy.
In Ventis story, the reader is a demi-god, which causes the pregnancy to go softer than it would if they were a human. I also made it to where the pregnancy is affected by the archons power? Basically, the baby is like a tornado 💀.
In Xiaos, you were an old demi-god. After the war, you had placed down your role and settled down in Wangshu Inn. You and Xiao were close for a while and started dating for about 200 years, then you fell pregnant. You, being a demi-god, assisted your pregnancy, but his Karma SPED up the process. I have a belief that if a Yaksha had a kid during the war, it would take like a week cause the kid would be bred to immediately go to war? But now that everything is calm and you lengthen the process, it takes a little longer, and it's not a blood thirsty baby.
Zhonglis, in Zhongli, the reader, is an Adepti. Both you and Zhongli have been together for a LONG while. And, both of you consider Ganyu and Xiao to be your kids. When he took his "mortal" plane, the two of you forgot you could fall pregnant. So, the pregnancy was a scare.

Aether (please read the notes!)
You hobbled out of your room in Wangshu Inn, Xiao, quickly following behind your wobbling body. You had decided to 'settle down' in Liyue. There would be many times when Aether couldn't stay with you during your pregnancy, so he had asked his dear friend to watch over you while he was gone. Xiao was hesitant, but once he saw your state, he agreed.
Your belly was round. You were 7 months in your pregnancy, and it caused all kinds of aches and pains. Aethers baby had PLENTY of room in your expanded belly. You walked close to the balcony, Xiao watching your every move. "Xiaoo, come on, Aether will be here within the hour. Please just take a break." You huffed out at your friend. This man wouldn't leave your side at all. He shook his head yet again. "I was given a duty, and if anything were to happen to either of you within that hour, I'd be responsible."
You grumbled at his response, your baby kicking your stomach in protest to his words. "Even the baby agrees," you huffed. Your irises moved to look at the gorgeous scenery in front of the inn, only to spot your beautiful blonde husband and floating companion. "Oh my archons!! AETHER!" You shouted, catching the males attention, you jumped up slightly, causing Xiao to scold you as he grabbed your arm.
Aether sped up his pace, and soon enough, he was in front of you, kneeling and hugging your stomach. Pressing small kisses everywhere he cold. "How have they been? I hope they aren't kicking you too much." His sweet voice said, Paimon nodded quickly. Despite him only being gone for a short while, tears still weld up in your eyes. "Oh no, they haven't been doi -" your voice was cut off by the anemo yaksha, who disapproved of your statement. "They're lying. The baby consistently kicks them." His voice was serious, but his face held ever so faint smile as he watched the two of you. You giggled at Paimon, who started to scold your stomach. "Rude baby! You need to take care of (y/n)!"
After Paimons wrath, she followed Xiao to give you your space, and finally, the two of you alone together. Well, technically, three.
"I've missed you, love," you said, catching the attention of aethers' golden irises. He smiled at your words, "I've missed you so much more." He grabbed your face, landing a soft, delicate kiss on your lips. The both of you sat down and caught up on things.
~Two months later~
You were walking back from the bathroom, Xiao and Aether had gone to Liyue Harbor to grab some last-minute things for your pregnancy. Before you could sit down, a large snap was felt in your stomach, causing you to gasp as fuild leaked down your legs. "AETHERR!" You yelled. There's no way he could've heard you, but you didn't know what to do, so you paced grabbing a bunch of stuff. In a quick flash, Aether stood in front of you, both of you panicking.
~Small skip~
It had been two months since you had given birth to your kid, Aether was an amazing parent. It's almost as if he was meant to be one. Currently, Paimon was your kids' favorite toy. Whenever she would fly over them, they would reach out, trying to grab her cute cape. And you are now waiting to tell your husband that you're expecting another kid.
(Bonus: Xiao is the 'godparent' of your child(ren), he always watches over them. When the two of you named your youngest after him, he teared up a little.)
Tumblr media
Childe (Tartaglia, Ajax)
Your hands shook as you held the paperwork that Baizhu had given you. Pregnant was written in bold letters. You sat the papers facing down on your table and rubbed your temples. You knew that Childe wanted a family, but neither of you wanted one now. Strong arms snaked around your abdomen, shocking you. "My love, what are you stressing about?" The freckled man asked as he placed soft kisses on your neck.
You stiffened at his touch, causing alarms to go off in his head. Never had you once done that before. He flipped you around and looked into your teary eyes for an answer. His hands rubbed up and down your arms reassuringly.
"I-" you stopped yourself, your eyes looking down. "I just wanna say, I am happy to do this with you, I just -" you sighed. "I need you to be there." More tears fell down your eyes. He was confused.
Were you trying to say he wasn't there in the relationship enough? He tried his best. He would do as much as he-.
His thoughts were interrupted by you shoving the papers in his arms. He looked down, and his thoughts immediately went towards death. But then his blue irises spotted it. His breath stayed in his chest as tears spilled from his eyes as well. "I'm gonna be a dad," he mumbled. He placed the papers down and tackled you into a hug. "IM GONNA BE A DAD!"
His dull eyes finally had light in them, this is what he had always wanted....
Your pregnancy was rough, even though you were only at four months. You were constantly sick. Always throwing up all of your food, and it made you weak. This terrified Childe, but you were trudging through it like a champ. Recently, you found out that you were expecting three kids, which caused the both of you to nearly faint. However, you were ready....
You walked into your living room with some celery sticks, Childe smiled at you. You were ready to pop any day now. You had pretty heavy contractions but nothing other than that. You wobbled over to sit, but you dropped your celery stick. When you bent over, you had thought you peed yourself, however... your water broke. Your eyes widened, and you stared at childe. "You pee yourself again?" He said jokingly. However, his deep smile went away. He surely misunderstood the situation. He stood up and grabbed your baby bag, rushing you out of the house.
Childe was the best father anyone could have asked for. All his experiences with his little siblings really worked well for the future. The two of you currently stood in the nursery room, watching all three of your kids sleep peacefully. Childe rubbed your shoulders. "Such a good parent, hm my love." he kissed your neck softly, complimenting you on your skills. "How about two more?" You blushed at his joke. However, his hands went to your waist as the kisses on your neck got sloppier. He wasn't joking...
(Bonus: Zhongli would visit once in a while. The kids all seemed to love him. He would hum old lullabies and tell old stories to help the kiddos sleep. When he found out you were pregnant again, he bonked Childe on the held and scolded him for hours.)
Tumblr media
Diluc
You walked out of your room, your red-haired husband following you like a lost puppy. "Luc! I am okay, please. My love, I need you to worry about yourself as well." You turned your body to face your stubborn husband, your large belly softly pressing against his muscular abdomen. He huffed slightly, placing his large, warm hands on where your kid had laid. "I'm not just worrying about you, I'm also worrying about little Creya," you smiled warmly at the name, when Albedo told you guys that your baby was going to be a male. The two of you agreed to name it after his father Crepus and the oh so supportive Kaeya.
"I can't wait to tell Kaeya our babies name." You said as you kissed Diluc sweetly. "I was thinking we could tell him now? We already went to my father's grave and told him, mind as well tell the living one." A bittersweet smile formed on both of your lips. You jumped up and down, excitement flowing through your veins, "Oh dear! How should we tell him. My my this is so exciting." Your movements worried Diluc. However, he calmed down. "I have just the idea."
The two of you knocked on his door, the blue-haired male answered, his face holding a confused smile. "And what brings you here, awe, was it my nephew visiting? Hmmm??? I just know he's gonna be just like Uncle Kaeya." The younger brother smiled and ushered the two of you in.
"Well, it is about the baby." Your husband said calmly, handing him some dandelion wine. Kaeya nodded in anticipation. "Well, we found a name!...... actually we have for a while," you said, murmuring the last part. "Uh ow? And you didn't tell me?!" You reached out for Dilucs' hand, rubbing it reassuringly. "Brother..." He started. For some reason, Kaeya felt a bit of fear entering his chest.
"We decided to name him Creya Ragnvindr, after father and you." Dilucs voice cracked a little. Kaeya stood there in shock, a line of tears streaming down his face. In a sudden motion, he tackled his brother. It wasn't often the two of them got along. But that all changed when baby Creya came around.
~two weeks later~
"DILUCCC" Your agonizing shout could be heard. Your contractions were absolutely awful today. Your husband ran upstairs and into your room, and his eyes flickered to the wet floor. He rushed to your body, softly leading you downstairs. He had hired a midwife to deliver the baby, and he sent one of the maids to grab her. "Shhh, deep breaths, my love.... I know it hurts. I'm here. I'm here." He laid your body down on the makeshift bed that was downstairs. "Look at me, love, don't take your eyes off of me, dear."
His hands shook heavily, tears pouring from excitement and downright fear. He was scared that you were going to end up like his mother. However, you were strong, you had this down.
Diluc was a soft father. He would always spoil his sweet, red-haired baby. He would always bring him wherever he'd go unless, of course, it was somewhere unsafe. He was humming to Creya, his left hand slowly rocking him as his right continued to sort through papers.
(Bonus: Kaeya would practically try and steal your son. He'd be over all the time to take the "load" off of your guy's backs. However, he did it for himself. He was the world's proudest uncle.)
Tumblr media
Kaeya
Kaeya walked into the house perfectly on time for dinner. Ever since the two of you had found out that you were pregnant, he didn't stay even a second later at work. He walked up to you and wrapped his arms around your body, seemingly charging his social battery. "Mmm, it smells delicious, my snowflake. How's our baby doing?" You smiled and hugged him softly, "I've missed you. Our little baby has been kicking me all day." Kaeyas face frowned, he knelt down to your large belly. "My my, abuse isn't funny, kiddo." He scolded your kid through your stomach.
"Diluc came by today. He gave us Virgin Dandelion Wine? I tried it, and I think it tastes the same." You placed the food on the plates and poured the pregnancy safe wine. "Hm, I think my brother is finally getting around. Also, go sit down. I got this." He led your body to the dining table. "Hey! I got it Kae!" Your husband only smirked and shook his head, "Absolutely not."
He placed the food down and sat beside you, a heavy kick hit your stomach again, causing you to grip the table in pain. The cryo user frowned once again, freezing his hand ever so slightly and placing it on your stomach. You hissed at first but eased into the coolness. Your baby seemed to love it as well. "I told you to stop kicking!" He whispered-shouted. His free hand picked up your fork and placed the food in your mouth, assisting you throughout the whole night.
~Two months later~
A large gasp fell from your chest as you quickly grasped your husband's shirt, your body slightly going to the ground. He whipped his head towards you and grabbed your body, "Okay, okay, let's go." he lifted your body and carefully ran to the Mondstat nurse.
Once the two of you settled down, your closest friends Jean, Diluc, and Venti rushed in. They all had different gifts. They were soon ushered out by the nurse. Kaeya stood by your side, whispering sweet things as the baby tore your insides out.
Kaeya was an amazing father. However, he was a troublemaker. He would always get your kid to do things they weren't supposed to, and you have to admit it was funny. Your husband had started to take fewer shifts so he could be there with you while raising your family. Currently, the two of you snuck in your baby to go see Lisa at the KOF library. "Awe, deary! They're so adorable." The woman exclaimed, softly tickling their stomach.
(Bonus: You and Kaeya had invited Diluc over for dinner. The three of you shared stories, both Kaeya and Diluc, using their visions to assist you if you were ever in need. "Diluc, I have a question, brother." Kaeya stated, "Diluc hummed in response. "Would you like to be their 'God' father?" Diluc practically choked on his food and looked at Kaeya with wide eyes. "I-" he hesitated. "Are you sure?" His pupils were dilated. "Then it's settled! God father, LuLu!" You exclaimed.)

Venti (Barbatos)
You woke up to Venti humming to your stomach quietly. "Hey Barb," you mumbled. His eyes shot up to face you, "Good morning, Blume!" His smile lit up the room, and his cold hands softly held your face as he peppered you with kisses. You groaned slightly, nausea hitting your body. You threw your legs off the bed, quickly getting up and rushing to the bathroom. Your head hovered over the toilet as you threw up, mostly dry heaving due to the lack of food in your system.
Venti was right behind you, his hands massaging your shoulders as he brought in a soft breeze to cool you down. He was always a happy go lucky person. However, he hated seeing you sick. "Barb pregnancy really sucks." You muttered. He frowned slightly, "I'm sorry, my Blume, if I knew -" You shut him up by hugging him "I am more than happy to go through this if it means we get to have a family."
He smiled and hugged you tighter, "Well then, let's get you some fresh air, we can go out to eat this morning!" He kissed your lips before swiftly moving down to your stomach, despite you not having a bump yet. Your symptoms were awful. That's what you get for having sex with an Archon, I guess.
The two of you made it to the restaurant. You ordered tea break pancakes and Mondstadt hashbrowns. Venti created a soft breeze, making sure the weather was completely perfect. As you ate the hash Browns, a small cramp shot through your stomach, your eyes widened, causing Venti
~Two months later~
It had only been such a short while since you fell pregnant, but at this point, you looked 7 months along. The whole pregnancy took a heavy toll on your body. You were constantly tired, aching, and most of all, emotional. Venti was supper happy. However, he was stressed out of his mind. It was really obvious that he had been scared to lose his lover. Whenever you would gasp, his heart would drop, thinking that your body finally gave out. He would always mutter an apology whenever you were in pain. It wasn't always like this, though. Sometimes, your baby would take a day off. Leaving you feeling completely rejuvenated, those days would mainly be spent going outside and having lots of fun with your husband.
~Five months along~
You gasped out, grabbing the table beside you. This gasp was different from all the other ones that have played in Barbs' ears. He quickly ran over to you. You opened your mouth to scream, but nothing came out. He started to panic, thinking that you were dying. However, when his foot stepped in a puddle, it all came crashing down. Venti helped you sit down before quickly running to the front door, yelling to get peoples attention. Pregnancy took nine months?! Why did your water break after five??
Doctors came rushing in, and the process began.
Hours had gone by, Venti was in the living room, tears streaming down his face as your agonizing screams could he heard from the bedroom. Diluc and Jean had ran as soon as they heard the noise, the two of them were the only ones to know of his true identity of course. They tried their best to comfort him, it was difficult seeing the never down bard lose his composure.
The screaming stopped, Barbatos's eyes widening, heart stopping. However, once the babies cries were heard, his heart pounded into his chest. He ran into the bedroom only to find you weakly holding onto your baby. He walked towards you, kissing your forehead. "I'm so sorry, Blume... how are you feeling?" He asked, his full attention on you. You smiled warmly. "It was worth it, bar-venti," you corrected yourself. "Look at them," your husband looked down at your child. They had your haircolor, with slightly glowing ends. His bright smile came back again, heavy winds swirling outside. "Love, might wanna calm down a bit." You giggled, causing him to get into touch with reality again. "It might just be impossible to do so."
Barbatos was a fun father. He would always bring your baby out on adventures and would sing and dance with them. He wanted another baby but would absolutely not put you through that again. However, when you told him you'd be completely fine with it, you guys tried for another. It was a success, luckily this kid was a LOT calmer than your first.
(Bonus: Jean smiled heavily as she held the tiny little human in her arms. She would always come over and assist the two of you whenever she wasn't slammed with her job. She truly loved both of your kids as if they were her own)
Tumblr media
Xiao
His yellow eyes looked into yours in fear "(y/n)...." He whispered, his hands trembling as his eyes started to water. "I can't -" a sob broke through his chest, and your heart broke a little. Neither of you wanted a kid, but here you are, pregnant. "I can't lose you too!" He finally shouted. Tears were streaming down his face, sobs breaking out. You had never, ever seen him like this. It was frightening. "I- xiao, I'm sorry." Shameful tears left your eyes, your hand grabbing his softly. "Adepti can have kids, Yanfei and Ganyu are here, you know!" His breathing slowed, pure terror still in his eyes. "I have karma... I am a soul shattering yaksha! I'm not meant to have a child!" He shouted again, his hand gripped yours tightly. He wasn't intending on scaring you, he was just frightened of losing you.
Your sorrowful eyes brought him to slight reality, "If there's a way we can reverse this, then let's do -" Your words were cut off by Xiao hugging you tightly. "No, I can already see your love for this unborn child. Let's talk to Cloud Retainer before we make any rash decisions." He mumbled softly, his hands clutched onto your back as if you were to perish at any time.
The two of you came back from the Cloud Retainer. She had informed the two of you that because of him being a yaksha and you being an old demi-god that the pregnancy would be very fast. She also confirmed that the karma would in fact take a heavy toll on your body, but if the two of you were careful, then you both would be fine.
~Four weeks later~
Fast was an understament. your body was aching at all times. A very large bump was apparent on your body. Xiao had been with you at ALL. Not once did he let you move on your own. You were like a fragile glass, but now you were holding precious cargo. Verr Goldet had hired a nurse to stay there at all times, a congratulations gift sort of. So whenever the karma got too much the nurse would always be there to help.
Currently, you were lying on the bed, trying to do breathing exercises. "Xiao," you mumbled. He swiftly walked over to you. "What's the matter?" He asked. Worry filled his veins. "Could you hold me?" You asked, your voice quiet. "Are you su-" you huffed, cutting him off. "I don't care about the extra karma yiu grumpy adeptus. Your pregnant partner needs you to hold them!" You shouted softly. Despite the 'hostility' your tone, He softly smiled and crawled on the bed, holding your body close.
His movements stopped when you burst into tears, "wha-" he tried to say but a crackled sob interrupted him "I'm sorry for yelling Xiao!" You sobbed into his chest. Boy boy were these pregnancy emotions gonna kill him.
~Two weeks later~
Everyone had assumed that you were going to pop soon, and new faces showed up at the Wangshu Inn to assist the poor nurse during the pregnancy. Cloud Retainer, Zhongli, Aether, and Ganyu had all shown up to help you. It was very overwhelming for Verr, but she understood.
You were talking to Zhongli while Aether and Ganyu forced your husband to leave the inn. When suddenly a large abnormally painful snap charged into your stomach, a blood curdling scream erupted from your throat. Zhongli immediately grabbed your body, preventing you from falling, and he yelled your husband's name. The nurse and retainer ran inside. Xiao teleporting in the room while the other two ran towards the inn as fast as they possibly could.
Cloud Retainer and Ganyu were the only ones in the room. The nurse was even kicked out. Zhongli and Aether comforted the horrified Xiao as your torturous screams echoed off the wall. "They're going to die," Xiao muttered quietly, tears flowing down. "Hey! Don't say that you have some faith in them!" Aethers floating companion said. "Hate to agree with bestie paimon, but they're going to be fine. They need your support more than anything right now, " Aether said. Their words did slightly calm him down, but your never-ending screams even worried Zhongli. Whom saw you like his own child.
An hour went by, the screaming came to an end, and the Cloud Retainer left the room. Xiaos heart paced heavily, "did they -" his voice got caught in his throat. "They are both fine and waiting for you, but pl -"
Xiao didn't even let her finish before he ran into the room. His eyes landed on your body, holding your kid peacefully. A sigh of relief left his throat "Archons you're beautiful. Both of you, " he mumbled, his body dipped on the bed and carefully held you. "Hold your baby, Xiao," you said weakly. His hesitant hands grabbed his kid, and he softly hummed. His eyes were filled with adoration. "It's not so bad now, is it Xiao." He shook his head softly. "No, not at all."
Xiaos parenting was odd. Both of you hadn't really known what to do, but you still did your best. The baby grew around many people, Verr being the one who spoiled them the most. "Go to your father!" Your baby stood up and wobbled over to Xiao, their first ever steps being taken.
(Bonus: Zhongli walked into the room after everyone else had left. You whispered a small hello to him, "Look, baby! It's grandpa." You muttered softly, Zhonglis eyes lit up at the title you had given him. And when he first held the baby, he declared in his head he would destroy anyone who walked in his grandkids path.)
Tumblr media
Zhongli
His hands rubbed your stomach. "Dear.... do you know what this means?" His honeycomb voice asked you, you shook your head slightly. "I-" you stopped, he grabbed your hand reassuringly. "I know it will be a hassle, but I want to try it if you're comfortable with that." You said, your eyes shifting to the floor. His ungloved hand grabbed your chin, moving your face to look at him.
"Sweetheart, I would wish nothing more. However, we do need to go see Cloud Retainer about this." You blushed heavily and nodded "Ah of course! Let me grab my stuff."
The two of you headed back from the mountain, "Wow," you mumbled. He unlocked the house and sat on the couch, pulling you on his lap. "I will be here every step of the way, my love." The process was going to practically ruin your body.
"Li, we need to tell Ganyu and Xi- uhm our adoptive son. We need as much help as we can get." You mumbled in his embrace, trying not to summon him just by mentioning his name. "I'll go get her, you call for him, is that okay with you?" You nodded, your Geo husband left the house, and you called for the anemo yaksha.
"Xiao!" You said carefully, the room filled with dark green, his body swarming through the room. "What happened?" He said alarmed, once he saw your calmness, he placed his pole arm down and sighed. "Hey, grump." You smiled, gaining a small scowl from him. You grabbed his arm and brought him to the office, sitting him in a chair. As if on cue, Ganyu bashfully walked through the front door, your husband following shortly after.
And now the four of you sat in the office, "So why did you call me here?" Xiao asked. The blue haired girl nodded nodded. "Did someone pass?" She said, slightly worried. "Quite the opposite matter of fact, my (y/n) would you do the honors."
You looked at him wide-eyed but then focused your attention on the two, now heavily confused shorties. "Zhongli and I are expecting a child..." You said slowly, Xiaos eyes widened in panic as Ganyus sparkled in admiration. "We talked to Cloud Retainer. The news isn't too amazing. She said that three months should go by and the baby will arrive..... (y/n) is an adepti, so it will hurt their body..." He continues on. Both Ganyu and Xiao now hold the same look. Worried with a twinge of curiosity for what is to come.
The conversation continued, and many questions were answered, but in the end, everyone stayed on the same note. Protect (y/n) and help them through the pregnancy. Xiao and Ganyu decided to move in for the time being, helping you while Zhongli was working."
~one month later~
It was awful. Your pregnancy was literally tearing your body apart. Not a day went by where the groans of agony didn't play through the old archons home. Currently, you lay on the floor, the coolness of the tile breaking your attention away from the kicks and punches that were going on in your stomach.
"Excuse me, (y/n)." Ganyu quietly said she was the sweetest always making sure you were okay. "Hmm?" You hummed at her softly, giving her a small but weak reassuring smile. "It's time to eat." She said softly, Xiao walked over, and the two of them helped you up. Your large belly moving in protest, caused you to grit your teeth in pain. Xiao grumbled something along the lines of the kid needing to behave.
The pregnancy made you crave Bamboo Shoot Soup and Cold Soba. However, you couldn't eat the soup due to the raw meat that was in the dish. So everyday you had Ganyus delicious Cold Soba. You sat in the chair at the dining table, slurping slightly at the dish, the two adepti staring down at you. "I swear to Morax, sit down." You grumbled at them. "Also eat some food!" They obeyed immediately, your parental instincts had already hit, and now you were scolding your two adoptive kids whenever they wouldn't rest.
Despite the long shifts The God of Contracts took, he would always spend more than enough time with you. As soon as he got home, he shuffled towards your delicate body. "My love, you're glowing." His deep voice said. He kissed your lips softly. His placed his hands on your stomach, and the moving immediately stopped in your womb. "Why do you get them to stop, but I can't!" You groaned, causing him to frown slightly. "Well, that just means you get to spend more time with me, my beloved"
The night went on, and Zhonglis hands softly send vibrations to your stomach. It was a small little quirk his abilities gave him. Your mind was finally at ease. As you slept the most peaceful sleep you've ever had.
~Three months in~
Everyone stood in the room, Xiao, Ganyu, Cloud Retainer, Shenhe, and most importantly, Zhongli. It was an overwhelming crowd, but your body needed as much assistance as it could get. The room was frigid, thanks to Ganyu and Shenhe, pregnancy caused your body to overheat and now that your due date was two days away, you were sweltering.
Everyone sat in different corners of the house. You wobbled around, your abnormally large abdomen making it hard to see. A large splash caught everyone's attention, a shrieking scream could be heard throughout all of Liyue, signaling that the birth had begun.
You were rushed in the nursery, everyone beside you, causing Ganyu to shout despite how out of character it was. Xiao and Shenhe backed up slightly and walked to a corner of the nursery, Shenhe slowly used her vision to cause the temperature to drop. Zhongli did everything he could for you. He held your soul gripping hands while you cried in pain.
The process was long and agonizing, but the soft coos of your baby had all been worth it. You finally smiled in relief until another spark of pain erupted through you. You threw your head back, it hurt so much, everyone's eyes shot towards your body. Xiao immediately running forward to you taking Zhonglis place as your husband helped your baby.
"There's another!" You yelled out, grabbing Xiao in pain, your body was sweating, and the pain coursing through your body became too much. With one last push your body gave out, fading you into a peaceful slumber.
~Outside POV~
Everyone stared at your limp body, Ganyu successfully pulled the child out and put her attention on them. Xiao panicked and checked for a pulse on your wrist, Zhongli right behind him, checking on your neck. Both of them sighed out in relief, causing the tense air to settle. "They most likely fainted from the pain. We're going to need to stay here for longer. Their body will he fragile." The retainer stated....
Zhongli was a devoted father. He immediately knew what to do, it's as if he had been a father his whole life. He would tell his two kids stories on his life, placing them in a restful sleep. He would always bring the babies with him whenever he would stroll around Liyue Harbor, the citizens would coo at the adorable sight. Currently, the four of you sat at the edge of the harbor and watched fireworks and lanters light up the sky. Your two babies looked up in awe, causing you to smile deeply. "Mortal life is truly worth it." Zhongli said while he stared lovingly at you. His lips captured yours softly. "My glowing beloved."
(Bonus: Xiao and Ganyu would visit ALL the time. Both of them would hang out with their younger siblings, teaching them things despite their young age. Ganyu would softly tell them about cautions and the beauty of life. Your oldest took after her very well. And Xiao would teach them about reality and recklessness. The youngest kid had kind of a rivalry going on with Xiao. It was very amusing to see.)
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
This is all so sorry for the mistakes and inconsistencies. There will probably be like 7 parts cause I am getting a bit burnt out >:p I hope all is well <3.

FakeCreator!Reader
SAGAU but reader becomes the tyrant imposter who pretends to be the creator. Also has a game system in place because I'm a sucker for those lol
“How about we play a game?”
“A game?”
“Yes. It'll be a fun, simple game. Just how you like it. It'll even involve that Genshin Impact game you're currently playing.” The person smiles, “I just need you to…”
You open your eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling. And suddenly every sense of yours sharpens.
You feel the mattress you're laying down on, it's too soft. You jolt upright at the thought you possibly got kidnapped, looking around the new environment.
It's…fancy. You look down at what you are wearing and… it certainly fits the place you’re in. It feels smooth, something a rich aristocrat person would wear in the past. But that's the thing, you are broke as hell and you certainly aren't that old.
So what is this? Is this some kind of new sick joke kidnappers do nowadays?
A ping from a hologram accompanied by a robotic voice reading it out appears right in front of your dumbfounded face, cutting you off your thoughts.
[Welcome to the World of Teyvat, player!]
What?
[You are currently inhabiting the body of the so-called “Creator” of Teyvat but the body is actually a fake!] The hologram fakes a gasping sound.
What.
[Now, you have no choice but to pretend to be the real Creator or else…] It pauses for dramatic effect to reveal horrifying news that you'll definitely not like.
[You’ll be executed! Oh no!]
“WHAT?!” You yell in shock, at the absolute absurdity of it all. Not knowing that it would alarm the people guarding outside the door.
“Your grace?! Are you okay?!” The door slams open, and that's when you know, you are fucked.
Your grace. You internally curse that title, the one commonly used for the Creator. Towards the imposter that was actually the real one or to the fake pretending to be one. Which you are supposedly the latter.
Two people entered the room, and you felt the sudden movement of the wind despite the closed room. But that's just your imagination, right? Is what you would like to believe but…
A familiar yet foreign appearance appeared. That– That shouldn't even be real. You dig your nails into your palm, hoping the pain will wake you up.
Yet you feel fully awake as Venti, a game character, goes to you. Looking all over your body for non-existent injuries while your mind breaks down, crumbling at the horrid realization.
His brows furrowed, gently prying your hand open, “Your grace? Is something wrong?” He asked in a worried tone.
You look at him, you don't know what expression you have but Venti flinches and ask again, “What’s wrong, your grace?”
You take away your hand that Venti was caressing, hugging yourself as you close your eyes to process what was happening.
You’ve— you’ve just somehow isekai’d like in those shows you watch. And not just any normal isekai, but in the body of the fake Creator of those SAGAU fanfictions you read.
“Your grace, may I ask what happened?” A deep, smooth voice filled with concern but all it does is make your face pale.
Oh. You are absolutely doomed.
Warning bells ring in your head, the two’s voices blurring yet the words of the hologram echoes clearly.
If they discover you're the imposter, you will die.
The world becomes distant as your chest tightens, everything feels real and not at the same time. You don't remember when you fainted, but all you wanted was for this to be a dream and wake up in your world again.
The last thing you see is the blue screen, with words that feel like it's mocking you.
[We hope you enjoy your experience and live to see another day!]
[Congratulations! You received a Memory Fragment from earning the achievement: <Trapped in another world?! The life of a Creator Imposter starts now!> Obtained from a successful transmigration.]
[Accessing Memory Fragment… Success!]
[Memory Fragment playing now.]
“How dare you?! You dare to question me?!” Someone yells in anger. A voice so strangely familiar to you.
You try to remember whose voice it is, it almost comes to you but leaves when you come close to remembering. You know it's someone you know very well yet you can't put your finger on it.
“P-Please, your grace… I did not mean to—” A different person’s voice, someone unfamiliar this time, begs desperately but was cut off by another angry yell.
“You dare to talk back to me?! Morax! Barbatos! What are you doing, you slow and incompetent acolytes! Bring death to this man right this instant!”
You flinch at the names spoken out, so so familiar but you just can't seem to remember. Your head hurts as you try to force yourself to recall what you forgot.
A clear, low voice void of emotions speaks, “We apologize for being late, your grace. We will do as you command.”
A slap echoes loudly.
Weird enough, you faintly felt the contact. As if you were the one that hit someone. But that can't be? You can't even see, let alone move…
“Useless. Useless, I say!”
All of a sudden, your vision comes back to you slowly. Your senses are getting clearer and clearer.
Then, you feel your mouth speaking, your body moving even as you try to fight against it. You start to panic when you can't control your own body.
“It is an honor for you to be personally serving me. Yet you dare to treat me like this?”
You try to scream, try to take back control of your body but all you do is point at someone kneeling before you.
“You seem to forget, you wretched Archon. But I am your—”
Suddenly, it comes back to you. Your mind momentarily freezes at you remembering everything. You somehow got put into the game you were playing and became someone you did not want to.
That's right, you are now the…
“—Creator! The Creator of Teyvat! The ruler of this world! And you will respect me, worship me as I deserve.”
[Memory Fragment finished! Collect Memory Fragment to access more of the Imposter’s memories! It will surely help your survival. You can do it, player!]
You open your eyes. And once again, you see that unfamiliar ceiling. You close it one more time, just in case.
To your absolute dismay, it does not work.
You pinch yourself once, twice yet nothing happens, you stay in this dream-like place.
You sit upright with a headache from the imposter’s memories you received. Massaging your forehead as you try to calm down.
“Your grace?” Ugh, that cursed title. The proof of your annoying situation. “Does your head hurt? Would you like me to get you medicine?”
You look at the source of that voice and lo and behold, it's Zhongli from the hit game Genshin Impact. Sitting at the seat beside the bed.
If it was in any other situation, you would cry from joy meeting one of your characters. But now, you want to cry for a different reason.
“No. I am alright.” You say rather stiffly, you weren't sure how you should be speaking. Should you be screaming insults everywhere like the imposter you saw in the memory or something?
“I understand. I brought you lunch, would you like to eat?” Oh, the beautiful voice you love to hear whenever he was on screen. Yet it chills your spine, scared at what he might do when he finds the truth.
This would have been much, much better if this was all a dream. But noo, you stare at the hologram over Zhongli's face, this is unfortunately the reality.
You sigh, “Give it to me.” Zhongli obliges.
Well, at least the food is good. Even better than what you have in the previous world, you won't lie. Makes your remaining time alive better at least.
…You mentally slap yourself to stop these thoughts or else you might throw up.
After you finish eating, Zhongli takes the tray and says, “Dr. Baizhu said you fainted from feeling overwhelmed. Is there something troubling you?”
You would feel bad at his worried tone if not for the fact you want to run away at the moment.
“It was nothing, you do not need to worry about it. I will be fine after resting.” You say with a fake calmness you did not feel, and hope it sounds like the real owner of this body despite the lack of yelling.
But then his eyes glint, piercing at you, looking like he just found the answer to his questions. And all you can think is that you already failed.
Standing from his seat, “I will be leaving then. Rest well, your grace.” Bringing the tray with him, the sound of the door closing made you slumped to the bed.
That was so stressful…! Silently groaning to yourself, and looking at the annoying blue hologram box in front of you.
“You! Bring me back home right this instant!” You tried not to yell loudly, fearing that someone might hear you and come in.
[Sorry to disappoint, player! But I cannot do that!]
“And why not?!”
[Your original body has died, no medium can be used for you to access the previous world. Would you still like to proceed?]
A yes or no appears, and you ask in distraught. “I’m– I’m dead..?”
[Yes. Returning would permanently make you disappear. Would you like to proceed?] The monotone voice irritates you to no end, it felt like it was mocking you.
“I— Why?” Your voice comes out quivering. You don't know what you are trying to ask, you just wanted answers.
[Please calm down, player! At the end of the day, this is all just a game.]
A game.
A game.
JUST A FUCKING GAME?!
You throw the nearest thing near you, the pillows passing through the holographic screen. “You brought me to this world and you say it is just a game?!”
Being quiet be damned. Fearing someone entering be double damned. You have to somehow make this screen pay for what they said.
You didn't want to be in this situation! This place where powerful people from fiction can hurt you in the most painful way possible before killing you. Even if you died and couldn't go back, you still wanted to return home because it's better than being here.
But this annoying blue box telling you it is just a game felt like it was trampling over all the fear and desperation you had.
When you run out of pillows, you go for the glass of water at your bedside table and throw it. It shatters and the water gets everywhere on the floor. With nothing else to throw, you attempt to throw the big fluffy blankets too—
Venti enters the room and sees you trying to lift a clumsily folded blanket but it keeps falling off. You complain the third time it falls off again, “This stupid blanket!”
Venti gets near you, holding you as you shake him off. “Your grace, what is the matter?” You keep thrashing around until you accidentally hit him.
All of a sudden, your anxiety spikes and anger gone. You almost forgot that this is someone who could kill you, and you just hit him. You immediately try to apologize, “S-Sorry—”
But you stop at Venti’s look of confusion and disbelief. What? Why is he... You rack your brain at the expression until you realize.
The one you're right now is the imposter who's pretending to be the creator. The one who acted like a tyrant in that memory you received. You panic, you're already acting so out of character already.
You try to think of a way to fix it so they won't get suspicious until Venti brings your hand to his cheeks, smiling almost crazily, “It’s okay, your grace. This body is your creation, you have the right to do anything to me as you wish.” He lets go of your hand, but he waits. As if encouraging you to hit him.
Chills went down your spine, you remember how insane the behavior the playable characters have towards the Creator. It was all for fun when you read them, because it was fiction. But actually experiencing it yourself now scares you.
Especially when you're just an imposter.
Swallowing the lump from your throat, you summon all the little courage you have left and say, “...Leave, Barbatos. I wish to be alone right now.”
He looks at you, the same way Zhongli was looking earlier and you clench your clothes, trying to stop yourself from trembling.
“...Of course, your grace.” It feels like forever until he finally shuts the door, leaving you alone to yourself. But you are also left with a sense of foreboding.
You lay down on the messy bed, closing yourself off from the world. Comforting yourself that everything will be fine.
But a ping from that grating system comes, along with it emotionlessly reading a new notification that makes you fear for your life even more.
Venti closed the door behind him. He looked at the other archon standing guard at the door of the Creator’s room.
“Barbatos.”
“Morax.”
Silence echoed until the Geo Archon spoke.
“Did you notice it, bard?”
“Ehe~ Of course I did, why wouldn't a super devoted acolyte like me notice?”
The Anemo Archon replied lightheartedly, but his gaze intense as he stared at the taller god.
“Indeed. It would be quite shameful if us two, the last remaining of the original Seven, did not realize this.”
The bard chuckled, “You’re right!” with a smile that doesn't reach his eyes. “Wanna say it at the same time then? 3…”
The Geo Archon sighed tiredly yet complied nonetheless.
At the end of the count, the two’s expressions turned serious.
And spoke of the truth that could change everything.
“The Creator has changed.”
[Warning! Warning! The playable characters are starting to suspect you!]

Title: Cupid's Lover
Character(s): Venti (Genshin Impact) Warnings/tags: Greek mythology-inspired (Cupid), love potion, "consensual" at first but later more dubious, "mutual" love (toxic relationship), Yandere Venti x Yandereish reader
[ - A little present~! Event - Closed - ]
Tumblr media
Venti always adores the day of couples as a cupid. He would go out looking after the couples that hold hands and watching those who confess their love to the person they had feelings for. The day is filled with flowers, roses, pink and red cards, presents, and chocolates.
Venti had always been a huge fan of liquor chocolates. In exchange for taking them from the shop, he would make sure the cashier would find love that day or, if they were already married, create a memory between their partner that they would never forget.
While taking a swig from the champagne bottle (it was a special occasion, of course, a special day!), Venti would look for those who needed a little more love in the day. He flew high in the sky, holding a bow in one hand and love arrows in a leather bag strapped to his waist.
He aimed at those who had potential, firing arrows that caused love at first sight or maybe a meet-cute to happen as he watched his victims become flustered between themselves. Whether something happens, though, was up to them.
Venti's arrows were never potent. They never forcefully caused someone to fall in in love. Rather than love at first sight, it was more of an attraction towards the person, a potential that one could give a chance to. Venti never drenched his arrows with the love potion like fountain water, instead letting them touch only the tips of the arrowhead.
Venti was never fond of the idea of forceful love. He wanted to push humans a little, but if they chose to do nothing, he would never force it on them. It was their freedom to choose, and that was his thought. If nothing happened, then there was always another chance later on for that person to find love.
Venti had always been so fond of Valentine's Day, not only because it was the day of love but also because it was an anniversary.
As the day passed, he watched as others finally returned indoors, whether it was to their own homes or their lovers. It was also his time to leave after aiming a few more arrows toward those lonely on the streets. He flew to the clouds where his home was,
where his special mortal lover was.
Floating down to the clouds, he opened the door and sang your name. Nicknames flew out of his mouth as he sang poems and songs about your love for each other. Laughter he heard as his face was held by soft hands, a soft greeting, and then soft lips on his.
Venti's eyes were open, looking at yours, filled with pink and love towards the person who looked back at him just as obsessively. Holding your waist, pulling you closer to him and deeper into this insanity, letting you indulge yourself in his love.
He was the one who fell in love with you first, a love at first sight, but you were the one who fell harder. It was a consensual love. Venti was a little obsessive sometimes, yet you didn't seem to care; rather, you took delight in it more than anything. His love and his obsession were yours, and your love and time were his.
To the world, it was obvious that the two of you were so in love with each other and that nobody could stand in your way. Venti asked to be with you forever, and the world gave him the permission, turning you into a demi-human, one who would not die, who would not age, nor grow sick. You would die the moment he did, yet a lot argued the point that even without it, both of you would rather die than live in a world without the other.
"My love, I miss you so much," Venti whined, holding you tighter, and you chuckled in his arms, holding his body against yours just as tightly. Venti watched you nuzzle yourself into his neck as if craving for his touch after so long, even though he left only this morning. You could not stand to be apart from him, and as time flew, the more and more you craved him.
You could think of nothing else but him, nothing more than his love, his approval, and his touches. You did everything he would ask, waiting for your rewards whenever you were finished, and would become mad when you were apart from him, even if you knew where he left too. You could not handle the loneliness away from him, and nobody else could help you either. Moments he was gone, you would sometimes throw yourself into cleaning and cooking. Venti even gave you a little garden for you to handle when he was gone, yet the emptiness in your heart was difficult to contain.
You wanted nothing else but to be close to him.
Did you know, angel, that today is our anniversary?" Venti said as you looked at him with doe eyes, recognizing his words. Love and lust deepened in your eyes at the implications.
"Here it is!" Venti showed, a childish grin on his lips as he awkwardly placed the potion between you. His face turned red as he watched yours looking and craving that very potion, the very water that had caused you to become like this.
It was something that he had suggested long ago, a little lovers' ritual for your anniversary. In his arms, cuddling on the bed, he asked you with puppy dog eyes if you could drink the water from a certain fountain. You were surprised at his idea. Wanting to show you how amazing it was he sat up and told you about the fountain that could cause one to fall in love.
Before, even at your worst, you still lived and acted like a normal human. You had other small hobbies that you did while he was away, yet that all changed when the two of you started to drink that water. A cup he held out to you, another one in his other hand for himself. You took the cup and poured it down his lips and let him do the same, accepting the water into your body.
Both of you knew how this could turn into something bad, yet the two of you were so in love, so high in love that it didn't matter if the two of you fell even further.
A liquid escaped your lips, and Venti watched as your eyes became hazy, unable to focus on anything but him. Losing all your strength to even stand as you continued to look at him with nothing but love. Venti held you in his arms, so delighted that you accepted this. He could not be even happier than this.
The fountain wasn't meant to be consumed like that. If an arrow dripped in it, it was enough to cause someone to fall in love. It was not meant to be drunk in a goblet. While Venti would experience only little of the effects, you, even if you had become somewhat magical, were still a human. The water melted your mind, unable to think of anything but becoming a daze. Love would become an obsession, and if not filled every moment, it would leave an empty husk.
You could not think of anyone else but him, just as much as Venti could not think of anything else other than you.

"You're trying to kill me, aren't you?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
It was wrong to believe that the adepti could endure everything. It was even more wrong to believe that they never bled. I stood beside the conqueror of demons on the Wangshu Inn's balcony, being loath of my inability to admire the landscape it evinced in the darkness.
It was preposterous to be in love with nature when your friend was bleeding beside you. I couldn't help my eyes from darting at the cuts and gashes all over his arms, dripping with shimmering golden liquid— ichor. Adepti weren't more Gods than they were humans but they still possessed the divine blood in their veins. Sometimes, it made me a little jealous of them. Despite being half adeptus, my blood was the generic red of humans.
"Are you sure you don't want me to patch you up?" I asked, for what must be the fiftieth time of the day.
"No," he grunted, "Go away."
"Not happening, " I shook my head. I was used to Xiao and his blunt hurtful remarks to be affected anymore," Not unless you get your wounds taken care of."
"Hmph," I could feel his patience running thin, "Adepti do not have the human tendencies to be taken care of. Nor do they need such assistance. Do not mistake me for a human."
It would be a lie if I said I wasn't expecting this as a response. Xiao was as reserved as an owl and as prideful as a lion. It wasn't an easy task to tear those traits away in an instant. And bleeding wasn't as gothically romantic as writers often describe them to be. I couldn't just give up and let his divine blood go to waste.
"Look here, Xiao," I tried again, "I'm not trying to make you look human even for a second. But you need to understand that the thing you're doing is not right. You might be super strong and super great but that won't matter if you bleed to death. Let me help you, yes?"
He glowered at me, the kind of look that was supposed to incinerate me to leave nothing but ashes. But there I stood, whole and scowling at him as if he was an annoying little kid. He turned away.
"You would be deluded if you think you can't die," I dared to say, "So if you don't want to regret this—"
The rest of my words were drowned in Xiao's mouth. Both his hands snaked around me, pressing me to his chest as if he were trying to mould us both into one being. His lips tasted like the brightest of sunny days dipped in the essence of the darkest of nights, revealing the most vulnerable of nightly secrets. At that moment, I knew I would want for more when this was gone, want for it over and over and over again.
He pulled away from me, our noses only millimetres apart as he stared down into my soul, "Just this once. Do whatsoever you must like."
I must have interpreted his statement wrong since he clapped his hand to my mouth when I tried to close the distance between our lips again.
"You're trying to kill me, aren't you?" he rasped.
And that was when I realized he was allowing me to tend to his wounds. I could feel a smug smile growing on my face at the thought that I affected him in a similar way he did to me.

"My heart was always yours to begin with."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The legs of the chair screeched against the cobblestones of the floor as I pulled it toward many of my shelves lined with ancient relics and figurines. I climbed on the wooden seat to dust the artifacts on the very top. At that moment, the bell to the door of my shop jingled, signalling the arrival of an antique-loving customer.
"Welcome, dear customer, what relic must I present to you?" I recited without even looking, the words stitched to my heart.
"The attention of the shop owner, if you please."
It took less than a second for the corners of my lips to tug into a smile. It was an unforgettable voice— softer than the wind tickling your face, smoother than a clear creek washing over the stones.
"It would be my greatest pleasure," I hopped down from the chair, the duster long forgotten on the ground in my longing to embrace the one I loved.
He wrapped his hands around me with the familiar warmth I was so deprived of for so long. "Been long, Kazuha," I sighed aloud.
"I'm aware," he rubbed his hand over my back, " I'm not leaving anymore, now that it's over."
"I hope not," I nuzzled my head on his chest.
He kissed the crown of my head, "I won't, sunshine. Do you need help with cleaning?"
I parted from him and nodded. He leaned against the counter as I went to fetch another duster, watching me. When I returned to hand him one, I saw a faint crease between his eyebrows.
"What's worrying my sunshine?" I posed, worried about him.
"They didn't return your vision yet?" he asked me, climbing on the chair to dust my figurines.
I sucked in a sharp breath through my teeth to stop my frustration from breaking free. The Vision Hunt Decree was over and the Shogun had promised to hand over all the visions she had confiscated. I got mine back as well, just as promised. But getting it back didn't mean it was in the same condition as before.
"You're not answering me?" Kazuha's voice was gentle.
"They broke it," I said flatly, trying to keep the anger away from my voice,"They returned it to me with an unfeeling apology. It was in shambles."
I pulled out a wooden vase to wipe it clean. Kazuha paused, unable to collect the words that would make me feel better.
"Sunshine, I'm sorry—"
"It's alright," I looked at him," It's not your fault. Sometimes, I wish I had run away with you. Staying back was the worst decision I've ever taken. Now, look where it's gotten me to."
Guilt rose in my throat. I didn't want to lose my cool and make him feel bad just after his return. But here I was, letting everything out that I had been so meticulous in bottling up.
"They pinched a hole in my hopes and dreams and stole half my heart with that broken vision," I complained, "They just don't care—"
Kazuha yanked me to him, covering my mouth with his. His hands rested on my jaw as if he were afraid I would disappear. My heart was a flower, dripping with the sweetest nectar in this world as it rolled down to my stomach, satiating the butterflies dancing within.
He pulled away, just to brush his lips on the space between my eyebrows, both my eyelids and the tip of my nose. I could feel the heat dominating my skin, licking at my throat and ears.
He smiled, seating me on the chair while his hands rested on my shoulders.
"Don't you worry about them stealing half your heart," he said, with all the gentleness in this world," You can have mine. My heart was always yours to begin with. As long as you have me, I'll sew your hopes and dreams together. "
That was the problem with Kazuha. His eloquence was evil dipped in innocence which always made me want to cry. His words had the tenacity to shred me into pieces only to sew me back together in a way that made me see him a little differently everytime.
His words were nothing if not curses which made me fall deeper into the chasm of his love, something I was sure I would never escape.

"That ought to do the trick, don't you think?"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
It was a glorious day under the huge tree in Windrise. The breeze was sweet, carrying soft seeds of dandelions and the dignified strum of a lyre. But it did nothing to make my heart dance to the joyous nature.
"C'mon, Y/N!" Venti called from a branch on the tree, his fingers sliding over the strings of the lyre,"It's okay to lose a book. Lisa won't have your head!"
I let out an exasperated sigh,"That is not what worries me. I am flabbergasted at my own irresponsibility. I can't even take care of a book."
Lisa loved her books. She trusted me enough to let me borrow one and I ended up disappointing her hopes of taking good care of it. Indeed, Lisa was scary when she came to collect overdue books, but that wasn't an excuse to hide my mistake.
"What do I even say to her?" I continued, pressing my hands to my head,"She'll be so upset."
"Y/N, listen to me, it's—"
"I should probably buy a new one to replace it," I decided,"That should do it or maybe—"
"Y/N—"
"— I must look for it more. She obviously holds her copies very dear—"
I heard a soft thud on the ground beside me and then I was rendered speechless. Venti pressed his mouth to mine and all my words died in my throat. His hand slid behind my waist to pull me closer. As if my hands had minds of their own, they cupped his soft cheeks on instinct.
My heart was a tangle of strings on which he played a merry tune with that kiss. With each strum of my heartstrings, he seemed to suck all my worries away.
He pulled away and rested his head on mine, smiling, "That ought to do the trick, don't you think?"
Tumblr media
"I'll do much, much worse than just kiss you!"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I had been sitting atop the outstretched palms of the Anemo Archon's huge statue, lost in the world of the book I was reading. I had not realized that I was staring straight ahead of me until Aether took it upon himself to snap me out of my reverie.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked me, voice dripping with innocence.
I, on the other hand, felt annoyed at being called back from my own world. So I decided to test his patience.
"What else?" I said, as if it were very obvious, " I was thinking about Captain Kaeya."
"And what about him?" I could practically hear him frown.
"What ain't there to think about him?" I pretended to be surprised, " He's the knight in shining armour everyone dreams about. He's tall, beautiful and everything out of a fairytale book."
I gave Aether a sideways glance. He was playing with the fabric of his gloves, utterly downcast. I felt guilty for my relishing this torturous experience I was putting him through. I couldn't help but snicker a little.
"Oh, just imagine him smiling at you," I spoke in my dreamy voice, trying to impersonate Donna, " Or the cruve of his lips on—"
Aether didn't let me finish my sentence. He put his lips on mine, washing away all my words with the sunshine within him. And I hadn't realized how much I would want this. He was oxygen I was dying to breathe. He was the sweet I was dying to taste. It was an eternity so short-lived, giving me nothing at all but everything all the same.
"Don't you think about Kaeya ever again," he growled at me with his cute voice.
"And what if I do?" I teased him.
He gave me the you-are-insufferable look and balled his fists together, saying, "I'll do much, much worse than just kiss you!"
At that, I was sure I wouldn't have any more witty rejoinders anymore. He was so adorable and I was dying because of it.
Tumblr media
"You don't have to be perfect all the time, babe."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Heizou lounged on a straight-backed wooden chair, his feet propped up on the table and crossed at the ankles while his hands cushioned his head, serving as a makeshift pillow. A pair of moths fluttered around the single yellow lantern dangling down the ceiling as he sat watching me.
I was sitting with my back to his bookshelf, troubled at my recent failure with a case. It had been quite simple if I'd thought about it harder, then, I wouldn't have embarrassed myself like that in front of everybody else who expected so much from me.
"Y/N," he spoke softly, "It's alright. Even the best of us need help sometimes."
"Not with a petty theft case," I shook my head with belligerence, " Especially not when the thief is right in the line of sight, doing a good job to blend in with the crowd."
I heard him sigh aloud. I knew I was annoying him quite a lot. But I still couldn't fathom the stupidity that brought him down along with me. What worried me was that he considered it to be next to nothing. But for me, who called myself a detective with a keen eye, it was a big deal.
"Y/N, chill out," he drawled. It was a miracle that he hadn't given up on cheering me up yet.
"You don't understand," I whined, raking a hand through my hair," If I were worried about my dignity, I would've locked myself in a room and isolated myself. But I'm not. I just managed to bring your reputation down in an instant and I can't believe you're so cool about it."
"We caught the thief," he tried to reason with me," We're good."
"But still." I shrugged, "It's always going to be there in the back of my mind, poking me like a needle all the time."
The chair scratched. Heizou pushed himself out of the sitting position only to come and crouch down in front of me. He tucked a single strand of hair behind the shell of my ear," It's alright. All is well that ends well, yes? According to that logic, we're grand."
I parted my lips to object but found myself obstructed by the force of his mouth on mine. The way he was kissing me, it was as if I owed him complete access to my mouth, whensoever he must want. If I could bottle up that feeling of his lips on mine and get drunk on it every night, I would do it all the time. Oh, wouldn't anybody?
A smirk stretched on his lips at the sight of my face which I suspected was a gradient of red.
"You don't have to be perfect all the time, babe."
Never had I realized that his words could ever make my heart stutter that way.

Venti x Reader
summary: Venti and his continually reincarnated lover
wordcount: 1.4k+ | tags: mild angst, fluff, reincarnation trope
pairing: venti
Barbatos knew ever since he had taken the form of his friend that life was fickle. He watched people pass on like grains of sand in a time glass, one after the other, soon forgotten about as others followed suit. But the wind does not forget. Not so easily.
He once again felt his bleary eyes open, the calls of his people ringing behind his ears. He felt anemo swirl up around him, eyes flicking around the forest he lay in. It was different than when he closed his eyes, bushes in the wrong place and trees moved, but it was not much of a shock. He felt the prayers of his people chorus behind his ears and heeded their call.
And then he met you. You, who was so fierce and brave and still so kind yet in the face of war. He watched as you fought, talked with you, and sat complacent as you charmed him. You had asked for his name, once. He had told you to call him Venti and to remember him as the eccentric bard home to Mondstadt.
And then he watched as you were slain. You had been strong, vision or not, but you were unlucky just once. And Barbatos watched as your chest concaved to the force of the blade, and as your blood joined the many already fallen, and he felt a strange sense of calm as an arrow flew through the head of the enemy.
Barbatos mourned you, just like he did every mortal. He mourned you by the bottle, by the sweetness of the wine that trickled down his throat. He mourned you as he mourned all the fallen of Mondstadt he couldn’t protect, as he mourned those who died trying to protect the nation he held so dear.
During a Windbloom Festival, over two hundred years later, Venti saw your eyes again. You had changed- you were a little shorter, hair a little lighter- but those eyes, with a bold determination as you bickered with a shopkeeper about her price of goods, he couldn’t forget. Your mannerisms stayed unchanged, you still had the familiar inflections and your hands still held the hems of your clothing when you were stressed.
Venti slips behind you, glancing towards the rather annoyed shopkeeper.
“What seems to be the matter here?” He chirps, voice light as he smiles towards the two of you. The shopkeeper barely spares him a glance before dismissing him.
“I’m sorry, I can’t take payment right now.” She turned back to you, eyes sharpening to a glare in an instant.
“And I told you, I won't lower my prices. What you see is what you pay.” Venti winces as you grind your teeth, watching you become more agitated.
“Your prices are extortionate.” As you continue to rant, Venti looks down at the shop's products. You had been pretty accurate- for selling simple wrappers to hold windblooms when gifting them, they were at a high price. When glancing around, he found this was the only stand selling them.
“It takes advantage of people just wanting to enjoy Windbloom- how did you even decide this was fair?” The shopkeeper stares at you flatly.
“Inflation.”
“The economy has been on an incline for a while, you lying-” Venti places a couple of mora on the table, cutting you off. He grins at the cashier, eyes twinkling.
“I believe this should be enough, correct?” The shopkeeper diverts her attention immediately to the coins, swiping them off the counter before any objections. She thumbs over them, waiting a few seconds before pushing the bundle of paper towards you.
“Take it. Next.”
Venti dragged you to the side, glancing at you. You were a bit dazed by his action, eyes trailing up from the bundle of thin papers in your hands to stare at him- studying him. So, he thought, it was only fair to return the favor. You surely had changed, your clothing less knightley and more of the common folk- and you dressed comfortably, too, which was good- but as your eyes dragged over his own appearance he found himself admiring that familiar fire, kept safe within the borders of your iris.
“You…” he hears your voice, hesitant and unsure, and hates how it reminds him of your demise. Your former demise, he supposes.
“We haven’t… met before, have we?”
Barbatos finds himself strangely silent, feeling the warmth as you hold his hand to keep him still. Like he would run. And he finds himself smiling, whether from the absurdity of that notion or the look on your face he didn’t know.
“Maybe when we were younger.”
It's a few years later when Venti finds himself gently strumming his lyre, your head in his lap, during a bright summer day. It was cool, with the wind constant and the shade of the tree at Windrise. You were dozing off, smiling as you listened to his song. And when you looked up at him, eyes tired yet shining and happy, he couldn’t stop himself from pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. He loved the way your eyes crinkled as your smile widened, and he relished the way you pulled him back down for a proper kiss.
It was these small moments Venti cherished, where the two of you shared these quiet moments together, where he could simply enjoy your company. The moments the both of you could just sit, stop for just a moment, where he could hold you and sing to you and you could just be happy with him.
And then you died again.
It was different this time, though. You had lived long this time, the crows feet beneath your eyes that used to only appear as you smiled became more permanent. He wished he could have grown old with you. He wished he had the heart to change his form from how he died, to give you the sembalance of growing old with your partner. He wept in your arms time after time, agonized over that fact.
But even if he could age, Barbatos thinks, it wouldn’t change anything when you eventually passed. While even when a gust of wind peeters out, it only resumes someplace else. At a different time.
He held your hand, bony and thin as it was, as you looked at him with the smile he so adored. And you passed.
And so he slept, for years and years and years, until he was needed again.
He would wake again and again and again, and would meet you again and again and again. Sometimes your hair would be different, other times your frame. But your eyes were always the same. They always looked at him with a distant sort of recognition, and that small flame would always be lit.
He would never force his way into your life. There were lifetimes that went by where you simply said hello to him on the street, just as many as the two of you would become friends. You would have your own loves too, aside from him. He found that any lover he would try to have would only remind him of you, so he abstained.
In the times you were gone, sleep and wine became his friends. His children of Mondstadt were easy to converse with, yes, lively and kind as they were. But they never had the comfortable familiarity you brought. Only the remembering of ghosts long past.
Venti finds you again, years later, humming a gentle song on the base of the tree of Windrise. And you look up as he walks over, smiling. But he stops, shocked, as he sees more than just the usual faint recognition in your eyes. There was something… more there. He can’t help himself from gently murmuring your name, and just the sound sends you smiling and laughing.
He feels you crash into him, shocked still, arms instinctually wrapping around you. Venti finds himself laughing along with you, the bottle of wine he had brought to drink dropped somewhere to his side. When he finds your eyes, he sees recognition he hadn’t seen in them before- at least, when the two of you met for the first time. And he sees your eyes filling with tears: of relief, happiness, and other emotions he couldn’t place.
“You haven’t changed a day, my love.” You smile up to Venti, grinning wide as he gently wipes your tears from your face. Your smile wavers for a moment, growing bittersweet. “I thought I’d never see you again.”
And Barbatos smiles, gentle, as he runs his fingers through your hair.
“For as long as the wind blows, I will protect you, just as you have protected I.”
And you smile. And he thinks that his patience has been worth it.

Happy Valentine’s Day broskis <33 yes I am a bit late let me rest
Archons x new archon reader!
VENTI doesn’t know what to do with you yet that doesn’t mean he won’t try his best! He’s going to make sure himself that celestia won’t end up corrupting you like the rest. Someone stop this man before he feeds you something he shouldn’t-
Venti would most likely baby you a lot but he is well aware at times you can hold on your own pretty well. Dragging you along with his stupid scandalous plans of drinking alcohol then proceeding to protect you from the abyss order. Venti might be on the weak side but he is smart and not to be underestimated.
Behind that carefree persona is someone who could be just as cunning and secretive. However he wouldn’t do anything that could harm you of course! He’s making sure that he protects you with his body and soul dedicated.
Venti wants you to grow up strong and not someone like him, well..just not the bad side. Not a carefree drunk that can’t pay off their tab everytime they goes to the tavern.
“You will soon grow to understand little windblume!”
ZHONGLI is the oldest amongst the orginal 7 archons so it would only make sense he knows what to do. Zhongli took care of xiao for a while so he would have a basic understanding of what not and to do.
He’s not quite..the best but he’s more experienced than you may think. So when he had first stumbled upon you it was quite a scare already realizing where you came from. In his free times he would talk to you about tales of old or new adventures he encounters everyday. He notices how you listen very intently with visible stars in your eyes so naturally it comes to his attention you will possibly to be a wanderer (ayo scaramouche reference??).
He already has adoption papers not even a week after taking you in so don’t ask about it! He always has his connections to pull some strings. Zhongli is a different person when protecting you though, archons help whoever thought it was a “good” idea to mess with you in the first place. Legend has it..they never lived to tell the tale.He often brings you to yunjins shows or even third-round knockout.
“What story would you like to hear today friend?”
EI isn’t..entirely clueless I would suppose? She took care of scaramouche for a while before setting him free but overall she doesn’t really know what she’s doing. This is when yae miko steps in to help out a but since she would have more knowledge on these type of stuff. She likes to tease you but not to the point that it embarasses you too much. It brings joy to Ei knowing you are at least doing well but still being clueless she tends to distance herself from you not knowing that you crave for her attention. One day you have to come up to her yourself and explain you don’t appreciate her avoiding you with the most upset face she’s seen on you.
Taking this into consideration she tends to spend more time with you. Sometimes you catch her buying a bunch fo snacks just so she can share them with you later. Ei tends to have this overprotective side of her since you remind her of her sister a bit. So don’t be surprised if she won’t even let guards near you at times.
She spoils you rotten just like zhongli. She catches you eyeing something while taking a walk? Next thing you know it’s in your bedroom. Want some cake? Just make sure to share a slice! Ei makes sure to train you with your desired weapon as to you have at least some knowldege on how to protect yourself in her abscene!
“Little one, what is it you desire?”
NAHIDA can relate to your situation a bit since you both are still new to the archon thing. She’s only 500 or so years old and that’s pretty young in terms of archon years. She makes sure you didn’t experience the same thing she did. Treating you with a bunch of love and care as well! She is well aware of peoples feelings and understand them well than most of the archons can so that gives her a huge advantage. Nahida brings you around with her on daily strolls so you can interact with people not to mention understand human feelings. Nahida is still a archon and has duties so sometimes she would leave you with al-haitham or scaramoche. She trusts him enough to even hand you out of all people- well not people your a archon but yknow the point still stands.
She is still a free type of person though so expect a lot of innocent mischief. Mind reading, pretending to be others, that type of stuff. She wants to teach you to have fun in a way that isn’t harmful to others around you and i’d like to say Nahida is doing a very well job at it too.
“Let’s go to the market today!”

Serenitea pot shenanigans 3~ Little Whopperflower🦋✨🌺
(Ven ven x reader)
~In which you decide that stealing his bowtie is the best idea ever🎀(TM)~
CW: it gets a little smutty
ヾ(。>﹏<。)ノ゙✧*。
"W-windblume? Windblume! There you are...I've been looking all over for you! I just- "
He stops.
You turn your head innocently, eyes a glimmer and hair gently flowing among the thousand winds.
"hmm..."
To the bard, you're always a stunning sight~ a shade more ethereal than white.
But you've really taken the cake this time~ spoiling him with this sight. Even if it meant you were a little whopperflower at the same time.
He raises an eyebrow and smirks, shaking his head and putting his hands on his hips. "Of course...I see..." He whispers to himself, soft and low.
A few hairs stick to your lips as you tilt your head innocently. You push them back.
"w-whats wrong?" You ask sweetly, trying to maintain eye contact. He naturally notices how your eyes dart to his chest for just a splinter of a moment, and how your cheeks gain a slight hue of pink. At his undone shirt.
You're holding back your giggles. He knows you are. You're batting your eyelashes...you know you're guilty. Every inch of you is riddled with guilt!
Yet here you are...wearing his bow, so beautifully tucked into your locks...feigning innocence.
"W-whats wrong?" Venti asks, playing fake ignorance to match the caliber of your acting skills. But you know that look. That mischevious yet silly smile growing on his face as he closes his eyes.
"Ah, it's nothing, my muse! Ehehe..."
He comes closer, and you turn your head slightly away from him to hide your stifled giggles. He's right behind you now, just close enough to be touching. But not quite yet...
"I just...I can't help but feel I've misplaced something..."
"Oh really?"
You feel Venti's breath now, on the back of your neck. It gives you a rush of butterflies that you try so very hard to conceal from him.
"Oh...yes...I was going to wear it for our stroll tonight..."
"Oh, it's only a stroll, my love..."
"Not on evenings when it's with you, my muse."
You can't help the small laugh that escapes you from that line. It's also so wonderfully comedic hows he's gone from increasingly suductive to pouty within a matter of seconds.
"Hey, what's so funny? It's true!"
"i-im sorry! C-carry on!" You giggle again, and he keeps pouting for a moment before getting back into character.
"so...what is it that youre looking for?" You ask, twirling the bow in your finger. "May I...help?"
His heart pounds out of his chest as you press your back into him. Would he really need to cut the act so short? You really are quite the tease, getting him all flustered...
...
You're being such a whopperflower in so many ways this evening!
"Ah...well...maybe if..." He begins to weave his fingers through your hair gently. You think he's about to take the bow out of your hair at first, but instead, he grips your waist and purrs into your ear.
"mmm...nevermind. I believe I've found it~my little whopperflower~"
"W-whopperflower? What's that me-ahh!"
You squeal as he wraps his arms around your middle tightly, lifting you off the ground and then plopping you onto the ground among the asters. He chuckles devilishly, lapping up the picture before him. What a beautiful sight it is, for his eyes and his eyes alone...wearing something belonging to him so graciously and lovingly. Even though it was stolen...sometimes, you just have to learn your lesson...right?
Immediately, his body is on top of yours, using his weight to pin you down so there would be no escaping his affect- consequences.
He proceeds to lay his love on you, letting his hands roam so freely along your body as he kisses you. Simple kisses on the lips become sloppier until they are no longer just on the lips, but all over your face, your neck, and even getting closer to your collarbone. The cute noises you make just for him fill him with more desire and love, so much so that his body aches from it. He groans against your neck, still trying to press into your body even more. You wrap your legs around his soft waist, eliciting an even stronger reaction from the bard. He chuckles darkly.
"Hm...you're enjoying this too much, aren't you, you little whopperflower..." He teases, his lips and breath brushing against the skin of your neck.
"N-no...what makes you think that?"
"oh?" He lifts his head, his hair brushing against your cheek and tickling you before his turquoise eyes shine in dramatized concern. "Then, pardon me! Since you're obviously not pleased...perhaps I should...hmm...I should go..."
Your eyes widen. You purposely stole his bow just to get this...
When he slowly and dramatically pulls himself off of you, drudgingly, you yank him back down by his collar. His eyes widen for a moment, but they become filled to the brim with lust and mischief within mere seconds.
"Wow, you~ you're asking for it now, you little weed..."
"I'm not a weed! I'm your windblume!" You pout.
"Oh? Are you sure? Positively absolutely sure?" He purrs, and then lovingly caresses your cheek~ the eye of the storm before he gives you your divine punishment.
"yeah!" Oh. That little pout.
"Aw...wonderful." He giggles and closes his eyes. An even denser fog descends upon the area. If you weren't even one hundred percent sure that the two of you had privacy tonight before...
Well...
His cape comes off so delicately. So, so very delicately. His hat, he places on top of it, giving it a few pats. His eyes are still closed. He seems so calm. At divine peace.
He gently, oh so gently, crawls on top of you, his braids gently tickling you in the face. For a little bit, he's looming over you, as if he's waiting for you to do something... His braids still dangling, brushing your cheeks.
You know very well how this works...It's your waiver, a contract between you and your lover...and this is how you sign it~ especially on evenings where he just knew that you may get a little...caught in the storm...
You undo his braids at a largo pace~ painfully slow and gently. You can see the cracks in his smile forming, and he's getting impatient. You giggle, imagining how this will present itself.
"Oh, my Little whopperflower, my sweet, lovely, divine, innocent whopperflower...I have all of the time in Teyvat for your shenanigans..."

♪ you'd been feeling low for a while now, spending your days alone at stormbearer point, losing yourself in you thoughts as you gaze absentmindedly at the scenery below you
♪ venti would be more than just concerned, though he may be completely oblivious at first; it takes him a while to notice how you're truly feeling
♪ when he does, he feels an ache in his heart, he scolds himself for not noticing sooner
♪ he's sure to shower you in gifts, whether they be big or small, and always make sure to spend quality time with you, refusing to leave until he sees that beautiful smile of yours
stormbearer point was... somewhat comforting. the soft, gentle breeze brushing against you as you dangle your feet off the edge, though you weren't swinging you legs in joy as you usually would. instead, they dangled freely off the edge, swaying only when the wind willed them to. contrary to the environment around you, your life for the past few weeks had been anything but pretty. it felt as if the flowers of your mind had wilted, leaving you with the shrivelled stems as you desperately buried them over and over, praying to the gods that some miracle would make them sprout once more.
your beloved, venti, had been completely oblivious to your state of mind, thanks to your ability to mask your emotions; though you'd hoped that, even then, he would've been able to see past your facade. only now, 3 weeks later, does he finally notice the dullness in your eyes as he gazes into them, holding your cheeks in his hands to stop you from turning away.
while you had been completely lost in your thoughts, he had seen you perched upon the edge, slowly lowering himself down to sit beside you and snaking an arm around your waist. his eyebrows furrow as he feels your body tremble against him, followed by shallow sobs and quiet sniffles; his heart shattered. how hadn't he noticed that you, the love of his life, hadn't truly been feeling the joy he had falsely seen in your broken smile?
from that point onwards, the bard made sure to keep his eye on you, watching you from afar as you spent time alone, making sure to take you to your favourite cafe atleast once a week. he'd also shower you in gifts, whether it be a dandelion he had found on his adventures, or a hat he'd bought from a merchant that he thought would compliment you perfectly (though he thinks you look simply stunning in anything and everything).
✧ cyno.
♪ cyno being cyno, he'd most likely tell you the "best" jokes he can think of, knowing they always make you smile (mostly for the wrong reasons...)

"did they hear me come in? i don't think they did... how am i suppossed to announce myself without scaring them?"
he ends up making a fool of himself.
his first idea is to clear his throat, but because he didn't want to frighten you (worried that you'd jump and hit your head on the wall you were propped up against), his coughs ended up being far too quiet to overpower your sobs. his "back-up plan" was to simply walk over and hug you, placing a hand behind your head and pulling you into his chest, shushing every so often and rocking the two of you from side to side.
you sat their for a good 5 minutes, not saying a word to each other but basking in the comfortable silence. being wrapped in his arms alone is more than enough comfort; his warmth lulling you to sleep as your eyes flutter shut.
crying can take a lot of energy, and so it's only natural for you to dose off once the stress that's been bothering you all day finally leaves you in peace.
the general feels your head fall limp on his shoulder, your sniffling eventually silencing as you relax against him. gently, he lifts you up from the floor, carrying you to the bed and carefully setting you down before climbing in beside you.

"[name]! i heard you sniffling soooo... i brought tissues and cold medicine and chocolate and- babe?"
your scans your face, staring at you longingly until he finally catches your eyes, red and puffy. you can see the way his heart shattered just by the way he looks at you; a small, almost unnoticeable, crease between his eyebrows expressing his concern.
"c'mere..."
despite asking you to hug him, he charges right at you, the shock briefly stopping your tears as his tackles you backwards and onto the bed. as soon as he's comfortably ontop of you, he kisses your face all over, slightly rougher on your cheeks but feather-light on your eyelids, which were squeezed shut. satisfied, he gives you one final kiss on the lips before burying his face in the crook of your neck and hugging you tight; as if he was trying to squeeze the sadness out of you.
"what's got you all upset, hm? wanna talk about it?"
and so you talk, explaining how everything had gone wrong that day, impersonating the vendor you had "argued" with as itto listens carefully, refraining himself from interrupting you no matter how tempting it may be. only once you had finished does he share his input, reassuring you that you weren't in the wrong and practically yelling in frustration at how unprofessional and rude the vendor had been.

however, things don't always go to plan.
as if fate itself was against you, a rhythmic knock echoes throughout yours and tighnari's shared home, one you know far too well. you curse under your breath, rubbing your face down messily with your hands before scrambling to the door. you take a deep breath before pulling it open, greeting collei with a warm smile, like you always do. you do everything in your power to keep your composure, to stop your voice from wavering as you spoke, but your attempts were proven futile.
"[name]? a- are you doing ok? your eyes are all red..."
that was all it took for you to break down.
poor collei is strucken with pure panic; she has never seen you like this before and genuinely doesn't know how to help you. there's only one solution she can come up with: tighnari.

"collei?"
his ears perk up at the sound of collei barging past the dense bushes and shrubbery, only to immediately drop down as collei explains how you'd burst into tears, panting heavily from the long run.
without hesitation, the ranger messily packs his belongings before sprinting in the village's direction, wasting no time before bursting through the front door and throwing himself onto you, enveloping you in his comforting warmth. the two of you would just stand in the doorway for a few minutes, holding onto eachother tightly. you gripped onto the back of his shirt as if he was your lifeline. in a way, he was.
"i'm so sorry i wasn't here, sweetheart. next time this happens, you come find me, ok?"
he peppers you with kisses, mainly on your forehead and nose, eventually dragging you to the bedroom where the two of you cuddle until the sun sets, not wanting to fall asleep but instead just talk about anything and everything.

Death At The Hands Of A God
Tumblr media
Warnings: general sagau, imposter au, light descriptions of violence/gore, you die/are killed (by Venti), angst
-
It seemed as if the rain was particularly heavy, almost unusually so as it fell in sheets, occasionally catching the light of the moon, making it look no different than strands of silver.
That should have been a sign, the rain, the fog, the agitation of the weather. Mondstadt hadn't faced a storm this bad since before their current Archon, even the winds of Dvalin paled in comparison.
Venti was so ignorant not to pick up on the clues laid out before him by his own nation as he trudged through heavy rain, his bow at the ready and a sinking feeling in his chest.
He would never say he disliked the rain, despite what unpleasant memories linger in the back of his mind from those times. But everything carried a harsher weight when was faced with his current task, one assigned to him by no other than his creator.
Venti stopped to rest a moment, leaning against a tree for partial coverage, though it did little to shield his already soaked clothes. He felt something heavy and unpleasant in his chest as he reflected on the situation, an unshakable sense of wrongness, one that clouded his mind and dulled his senses. You were what he was after, you who posed a threat to the divine order simply because of your face.
He thought back on his creators’ honeyed words, a sickeningly sweet tone that he had never heard them use before, not that they very commonly addressed him at all, which made this particular summons out of place, a mixture of excitement and worry bubbling in his chest as he walked through their temple. To kill someone impersonating them, that is what they ordered him, hinting at the possible consequences his nation may face if he didn't comply with the utmost enthusiasm, the threat of which rang particularly loud when faced with what they had done to other nations in fits of anger.
He knew deep within him that this wasn't remotely justified, that he might as well be punished alongside you if the crime was simply stealing a face. If only you chose to look like another human, or even an Archon, he would have taken your mimicry of him as a complementary. But alas. Those feelings were pushed down and covered by the vow he made to his nation, one born of nothing but love and a promise for a brighter future.
Venti had considered alternatives, confronting you with your motive, begging you to make yourself scarce, making his own judgement on your reasons and framing his response accordingly, but those were all fleeting thoughts, quickly pushed away as soon as they arose. He couldn't get attached, he couldn't afford to think of you as human, and he certainly couldn't afford it getting back to his creator that he failed them.
He had heard about your existence from other sources, apparently being so bold as to walk directly into Mondstadt. You weren't met with pitchforks and torches, his people were more civilized than that, but the hostility was as sharp as a knife. You had left of your own accord after having no luck obtaining food or a place to stay, he had only heard after the fact from gossipers drinking late into the night, the faces of which were forced into his mind as he once again thought of his creators’ threat.
Venti was pulled from his thoughts due to a subtle noise, one almost unnoticeable through the heavy onset of rain, but it was there. A branch and a pile of leaves, something big enough to break them, and no one in their right mind would be out in this weather, except...
He swallowed what little apprehension he’d not already buried, reverting his mindset to something it had been five hundred years ago with the quick draw of his bow. The Archon saw you in the distance, just as soaked as he was, clothes tattered and foreign, scared. A quick death was the least you deserved, one free from suffering, and maybe your next life would be more forgiving.
He aimed for your head, a clear shot even now, but it seemed the moonlight that glinting off his bow caught your attention as you quickly turned your body to face him in a defensive stance, eyes wide, fearful, as if you could see what was about to come to fruition.
Your mouth moved, only fragments of the noise it produced were carried to him, broken syllables and muffled notes the very wind urged him to listen to.
You had said his name.
Venti faltered before the arrow released, for the first time in centuries, its' path no longer as steady or sure as it had been.
It hit your throat.
Venti's legs were moving before he consciously realized, forcing his body to where you fell, as if collapsing in on yourself, until he could finally see you clearly, drenched in rain and golden liquid, mixing together indiscriminately as they soak into the ground below.
There was a feeling of shock, which developed in his throat first, spreading evenly throughout the rest of his body, as if it were in his bloodstream. He looked at your terrified expression, a pained and now lifeless one, holding only fragments of the fear you felt.
What had he done.
Venti felt himself fall to his knees, hands immediately going to where his arrow lay firmly lodged, feeling for a pulse in an act he knew to be worthless.
"No. No, n-no— no. Please!" His voice cracked as his mind caught up with what his eyes were forcing him to behold.
You were the divine creator, Teyvat's one true God, and he had—
No. He couldn't even think it, the word that was on the tip of his mind carried nothing but pain, anguish and insufferable heartache, the likes of which he hadn't felt, well since...
Without thinking, Venti wrapped his arms around you, laid his head on your stomach, forced his eyes closed, and prayed. For your return, for forgiveness, and if not for any of that, then simply for a form of retribution.
He hadn't realized he'd started crying, tears and rain alike falling from his face onto your form, pooling at his eyes until the world around him became harder and harder to see.
The position you both rested in was not unlike that day long ago, forever etched in his memory and resurfaced through reflections.
Was this simple his fate? To find himself holding in his arms the corpse of someone he loved so dearly, over and over again. Was it written in his very being that all good things would be torn violently from him with little care to how it left him shattered, scrambling for the pieces of what little piece of mind he had left.
There was no coming back from this, no form of atonement. He could feel the shackles encasing his wrists, invisibly tying him to this moment, to where you had stood alive moments prior. His days of living freely died with you, forever encased in the space between where your souls had briefly met, and it was no more than he deserved.
It was only a moment later that your body was gone, dissolved into the stardust it was born from, slipping through his arms and carried by the wind that no longer obeyed him. That didn't stop him from reaching desperately, gasping and clawing at the air for what remained, heart in his throat as he begged for mercy, for anything but you depriving him of your vessel even after death.
You couldn't really be gone, not fully, you who so powerfully morphed this world from willpower alone, who disappeared for an infinite stretch of time only to descend again. Even if your vessel may have been no stronger than human, your soul was as old and powerful as existence itself, it would linger on in whatever form it had existed before, watching, waiting.
He would be ready for when you decided to give this world a second chance, he would wait an eternity and more to see your face again and repent a thousand times over, bear any hardships in the time between only to fall to his knees in complete acceptance at whatever you deem an acceptable punishment when faced with your light again.
But first...
It seemed as if there was a loose end to tie up, a deceiver bearing the ultimate sin, one much more deserving of his arrow, and one that would suffer a fate worse than death in your name.
Venti roughly brushed the tears from his face, eyes darkening as he shakily pulled himself from his knees, feeling as if his body couldn't decide between flying or collapsing.
His ‘creator’ would soon face all the fear and pain that was forced upon you, the wrath of a god who had lost everything for the second time, a goal he planned to pursue till his dying breath.

I Love You | Venti |
Tumblr media
Amber gave a sad smile as she glanced at the male beside her.
"You're really heading off to Liyue?" Amber asked, knowing that the other was searching for his lost siblings; who were a set of blonde-haired twins.
(Y/n) chuckled softly as he side-eyed the female beside him. "Yeah... I wanna see if they have any information about my siblings," he answered.
Amber released a dejected sigh from her lips, wishing the brotherly figure could stay in Mondstadt with those who cared deeply about him.
"If you find them, do you plan on adventuring with them again?" Amber questioned.
(Y/n) stared at his bag which he was now done finished packing.
"Honestly...? I love it here, but I don't know what Aether and Lumine would think," the (H/c)-haired male answered.
Amber hummed lightly in a sound of understanding. "Well, if you do find them. Remember that you have a home here in Mondstadt!" She exclaimed.
(Y/n) laughed. "I'll remember that, don't worry Amber."
Amber smiled brightly, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "You better keep in contact with me, you idiot."
The male just sent the slightly younger female a small smile. "Promise," he retorted.
✧˖*°࿐
(Y/n) threw his arms over his head, yawning quietly as a nice brush of fresh air swept by him.
Paimon was currently sleeping in his bag, which he was happy about despite the said other putting herself in a small food coma.
The (H/c)-haired male brought out his map, and read over the stained paper which was supposed to be the mountains, roads, caves, hilichurls camps, and other places.
(E/c) hues drifted down one specific road that would lead their owner in the direction of Liyue Harbor, to find the Geo Archon.
"There we go," (Y/n) whispered before rolling up the map and placing it into a side compartment in his bag.
His eyes then drifted over to a very familiar tall tree and smiled when he saw a bard in green.
'I shouldn't bother him.' (Y/n) thought before heading down the path he was going to be taking.
However, this bard had other plans when he took notice of the (H/c)-haired traveler.
"Oh, Traveler!" Venti exclaimed, causing (Y/n) to stop and turned to look at him in confusion.
Venti went up to the male, trying to remember what he needed to tell the other
"There's one thing that I forgot to mention to you... Hmm... what was it again?" Venti wondered out loud as he walked small steps in front of the male.
"Oh. That's right!" Venti exclaimed as he came to a stop in front of the other.
A small and adorable smile slipped onto his lips as he pressed a hand to the side of his lips so that only he and (Y/n) could hear.
"I love you! Hehe~" Venti laughed before disappearing.
(Y/n) stood there frozen, his (E/c) hues wide as his face became flustered.
He quickly placed his face into the palm of his hands, trying to calm down his flustered figure.
"You stupid... stupid bard of an Archon. I love you too," (Y/n) murmured.

Tumblr media
Aether
Its tall figure stood in front of you in an intimidating manor, "You wish to mess with the abyss," the deep voice said. Fear spilled through your blood, and your body stood paralyzed from the anxiety. 'The abyss herald' you thought to yourself, 'no please no'. You tried to run, but nothing happened. The blue figure only crouched forward. "You will perish"
~Aethers POV~
'Today was long,' I thought to myself as I walked to the house in the teapot. As I opened the door, whimpers and shouts could be heard. Paimon looked at me with worried eyes, "(y/n)!" My thoughts rushed. How did someone break in?! I slammed open the bedroom door only to find my shaking spouse, Paimon flying in after, their eyes wide as tears spilled out. "What happened?!" I shouted slightly, the grip on my sword tightening. I looked around for any signs of intrusion, and it then became clear on what happened.
I sighed softly, placing my sword down. I grabbed their body, humming them sweet nothings. "What happened?" I asked again, quietly this time. Not trying to upset them any more than they were. "The abyss." Their voice was quiet, filled with fear. My heart dropped. "they did so much. It felt so real. " Paimon hugged their arm slightly.
My eyes teared slightly, 'I'm hurting them,' I thought to myself. My grip on them tightened. "It's just a dream, I will always save you. They won't ever put a hand on my beloved." They sobbed quietly into my chest, "Please don't leave Aether." My heart panged. "I would never leave you, not for anyone. Or anything." Paimon then rubbed their head "Yeah! If they even try they will have to suffer the wrath of Paimon!"
Tumblr media
Albedo
You helped your boyfriend with his experiments quite often. This one was testing sleeping patterns with a potion he had made. You laid on the padded table, and his hands placed the pillow under your head. "Sleep well, darling, we will go over the results when you wake." he kissed your forehead, carefully injecting the liquid into your veins. You world quickly going dark.....
~Narrators POV~
Not much was happening. Their body laid eerily still on the table, Albedo writing down notes. The male then got up and grabbed his stethoscope. He placed it upon his lovers chest. His eyes shot wide, and their heartbeat was abnormally fast. He stayed their for a short while, waiting for the beating to slow. However, it only quickened.
His hand grabbed a spare potion as well as some salts. He injected their vein with the new liquid and placed the salts under their nose, and his lovers' eyes shot open. He slowly sat them up, carefully bringing a glass of water up to their mouth. "Did I take it too far?" He asked carefully. He wasn't quite sure what had happened while their body was at rest. "No, you didn't. It seems I had a nightmare 'Bedo." He nodded, swiftly noting that down.
"Would you like to speak on the matter?" His thumbs rubbed their knuckles lovingly, and they nodded and let out a relieved sigh. "It was just your clone, ha, seeing you get stabbed, wasn't that cool." His face contorted into one of regret. "I see, I do deeply apologize," he kissed their forehead softly, helping them stand. "Let's grab some fresh air."
Tumblr media
Diluc
His spouses head laid on his lap as he finished up some paper work, their breathing was slow, signaling that they had fallen asleep. He smiled softly to himself. "How have I gotten so lucky?" he muttered softly, kissing their temple before allowing his attention to go back to his work.
A few minutes went by, and his attention was quickly torn from his work when their shaking hand grabbed his leg. "No, no," they whispered in their sleep. His lovers' eyes were still closed, lip slightly trembling. He quickly added the dots together. "Dear?" He said softly, "Wake up, my love, come on," he said, shaking their body delicately.
~(y/n) pov~
His body laid limp in Kaeyas' arms, tears globbed from his one eye. "He.... he took the hit for me." The cyro male mumbled, his voice cracking softly. "No, NO." You ran up to his body, and your eyes met with the crimson liquid that stained his mouth. You and Kaeya both sobbed over his body, "There's gotta be something, we... we can take him to the statue! He'll heal! Right!" Kaeya only shook his head, more tears spilling from his eye. "It too far gone."
Ringing filled your ears as you shook your head in denial. However, a soft voice filled your brain. "-my love, come on.".......
Your body shot up only for it to be met with the concerned arms of your husband. "Hey, it's alright now, I got you." he kissed your forehead, hugging you tightly. "I'm here," he rocked his body slowly, "Let's go for a walk my love, we can talk about it then if you wish"
Tumblr media
Kaeya
His body stood over yours, his eyepatch off revealing a golden eye. He smirked. "You are truly stupid, ah you poor thing. I only used you to get the role Captian."
His hand gripped your face roughly, wiping the tear and licking it. "Awe, dear, already crying, are we? How weak." He slapped your face, his eyes looking down at you with hatred. "Do as you please." He said to those with Fatui masks. "They are useless to us now."
~Narrators POV~
"Come on (y/n)! Get up!" Kaeya shook his lovers body, successfully waking them. However, when their eyes stared at him in fear, he quickly let go of them. Their eyes pooled with tears. "Kae...." they mumbled. "You aren't using me, are you?" Their weak voice broke the cyros' heart. "My dove, I would never. I don't know what happened in that terror of yours. But whatever the case, it's not the truth."
His heart ached at the hesitancy when he hugged his lover. "You're simply the most important thing to me. Never doubt that." He softly said. He then laid on the bed and brought them to his chest. "Sleep now, when you wake, I will be here. You same old Kae."
Tumblr media
Venti [Barbatos]
Your body lifted from the couch, your heart beating heavily against your ribs. It was a silly nightmare, really it was. An impossibly large toucan from Sumeru had chased you down and tried to make you its next lunch. Despite the silliness, it still struck fear into your heart. Which didn't get missed by your husband. The front door slammed open, the bard rushing though, striking more fear into your body than the nightmare had. His eyes peered into yours.
"The wind -" he interrupted himself with a heavy gasp, "it told me," he continued to try and catch his breath, "nighmare" he finally managed to mutter before plopping his body on yours. "Barb, how far did you run?" You askedslightly amused. "I would run across all of Teyvat my windblume"
You blushed slightly at his remark. "I was chased by an eight foot bird," you bluntly said. He giggled loudly and held his stomach. "A bird! Ehe, I could easily protect you from a bird." You smiled softly and grabbed his hand. "Well, you didn't in my sleep, you stink!" He gasped and held his chest "The pain oh god! It hurts! My poor soft heart!"
Tumblr media
Xiao
"XIAO," you yelled out, only for him not to come. Your heart dropped to your stomach, 'he.... he said he'd always come.' You thought to yourself. The Geo Lawachurl charged at you again. You just barely dodged it. "XIAO, PLEASE!" You yelled again. However, he still didn't respond. "I'm gonna die, please, please, please, please xiao..."
~Xiaos POV~
"xiao" a quiet voice strung itself in my brain. It a flash, I stood in front of their bed, their body was shivering as tears escaped your eyes. "What happened?" I scanned their bodies for injuries.... "xiao" their voice muttered again. "I need you to tell me-" he stopped his sentence when he noticed they were asleep.
He carefully shook his lovers body, confused on what to do. When their eyes opened, he looked at them with worry. "(Y/n)?" He asked carefully. They trembled slightly. "You came." They said, hugging his body. "I told you I would. What do you take me for?" They shook their head softly. "Please stay with me tonight." My heart stopped for a second, but I nodded. "I'm here."
Tumblr media
Zhongli
Your eyes went wide as you sat up from his lap, Zhongli placed his tea down and moved his attention quickly to you. "Honey?" His deep voice filled your ears, you shot your eyes towards him and sighed softly. "Never do that again 'Li" you said. His golden eyes looked into yours with confusion. "I do not understand. Have I done something to upset you?" His hand held yours softly. You smiled and shook your head.
"You turned into a damn dragon and struck into war." He hummed softly, grabbing his tea and handing it to you. "Drink this it'll calm your nerves, I assure you, my love. My duties as the God of Contracts have long been over. I am here with you now." You smiled at his reassuring words, "Good. If you leave me, I will damn your soul." You said with a straight face, and his eyes widened a small smile, painting his lips. "I would never leave such a treasure."

Love Never Discussed
Tumblr media
This is my first ever one-shot, but I'm quite proud of it, so I thought I'd post it and feed those Venti simps. Please enjoy! :D
-----
Venti x Gn! Traveler! Reader ~Angst, Fluff, and things along those lines. WARNINGS: Suicidal ideations and thoughts, sh scars... please do not read if any of those concepts trigger you, and for those reading who deal with this, please know that you are loved, even when it may not feel like it. Word Count: 2,2k
You've grown tired of the way things are. Traveling non-stop takes its toll, but it's surprising how well you hid it from everyone, including the floating emergency food who spoke to you every waking moment. Eventually, taking care of yourself, alongside all these other people, became a chore, so you walked on until you pushed yourself just a bit too far. Luckily, you were found by the one person you had only wished to see again.
-----
Night had slowly fallen as you trekked along what felt like a never-ending road, yet you thought you didn't deserve to rest. There were still people to help, to rescue, to find. Of course, Paimon was chatting your ear off the whole way, not even taking in the fact that you weren't responding. As you walked along the shore near Stormbearer Point, the very place where you met Paimon, the fatigue began to take its toll, but you kept moving. Little did you know, a familiar face was keeping an eye on you as you sluggishly walked the beach towards the forest, headed straight for Mondstadt. Then, rain began to fall, it started with a light drip, and quickly it moved on to a pour. Nothing was even concerning you at this point, you couldn't really remember if you did anything for yourself today. Did you even eat? Drink?
Your vision grew blurry to that thought, but you didn't mind. The cold rain pounded your skin as Paimon ran off under a tree and called you to her. Instead, you didn't listen, you let it happen, not a concern or worry that you didn't know what would happen next. "It was bound to happen," You thought as no part of you feared the afterlife. You thought this was it.
Just as your body fell numb onto the wet and hard sand, your vision was finally gone. Paimon screamed for you, floating over to you in haste as she completely forgot about the heavy condensation. She called your name multiple times, shaking your body back and forth. She looked for help, turning her head left and right.
Within the blink of an eye, the person who kept you in their sights came sprinting over, stowing away the bow he carried over his shoulder. Paimon sighed with relief at the sight of him as he knelt by your side, dirtying his white tights and placing a hand on your back, calling for you.
"Traveler!" Your corrupted mind made out, which caused a bit of force to your eyes as you wanted to see the face of the voice you recognized. He saw your attempt and moved his hand to your shoulder to gently roll you over.
As his hand touched your skin, he felt how cold you were due to this heavy rain. The wind didn't help, but the more he panicked, the more nature was stirred up as well. He snapped out of whatever worry he had dug into and put his other arm under your head so that he could roll you onto your other side without possibly injuring your neck. He could finally carry you out of there, using the wind to help glide him straight towards the city he used to rule.
It was the dead of night, not a soul was outside of their home in the city of freedom. Maybe it was because it was so late, or maybe the rain was too strong, but Venti had one thought and one thought alone: to help you. He was quick to find what he thought he needed as Paimon was barely able to catch up with the Archon.
Though this was his city, he didn't live in one place. He doesn't own a home, so even he was somewhat lost. Moments after he had grabbed a blanket from a nearby vendor, placing what money he could on the counter before taking his time to wrap you in it as best as he could, he found himself breathing hard as he looked around vigorously. He searched for a safe place to put you, but to no avail.
"Venti?" Jean's voice echoed through the empty city as the rain had finally stopped, the night sky clearing up. She held an umbrella in one hand and a lantern in the other, a confused look worn upon her face.
The god had slowly come down, the wind blowing around him coming to a halt the moment his feet touched the ground, "Master Jean... please, I need your help." He asked as he showed your face to the Acting Grand Master, Paimon nodding her head in a quickened pace.
"The Honorary Knight..!" Jean gasped as she quickly turned her gaze back to Venti. "Follow me."
The two ran through the streets of Mondstadt, as Paimon floated alongside them until they reached the Knights of Favonius headquarters. The instant the group reached the indoors, Venti felt relief knowing you would be safe there. Jean led them inside her office and suggested laying you down on the couch.
Replacing the now wet blanket, you once wore, with a new one, Venti pulled up a chair to stay by your side for a moment as he caught his breath.
"What happened?" Jean's concern was not one to be reckoned with, and Venti understood that. He knew he had to speak up on the issue, though he might not have known every detail.
"Paimon was just talking with the traveler until it suddenly started raining and-!" Paimon's high-pitched voice rang out and loud as she was still grasping the situation herself.
"Paimon, why don't you go take a breather and find Miss Lisa in the library. It isn't all that late for her, she should still be up and about." Jean suggested, though cutting off the floating person, Paimon nodded calmly and flew out the door.
"Thank you." The boy with black to blue braids nervously chuckled as he looked at Jean for only a brief moment before turning his focus back onto you.
"My question goes for you, too, Venti..." Jean continued on as she leaned forward in the chair she sat on. "If you know what happened, that is."
"To be honest, I don't really have much of a clue. I knew the traveler was coming back to Mondstadt today, the wind told me, but I never expected this. They looked tired, not only physically, but mentally as well. The sight of them broke my heart, I worry they never focus on themself. Going from nation to nation is beyond draining, even I couldn't bear it sometimes, but to also be traveling and searching for someone so dear, then getting dragged into defending ones so near. They could have barely just met, but the traveler would help them solve their issues. This is all too much for one human to hold and never let go of. Even so, they don't dare utter a word of regret or sadness. If I had to say, that is probably the problem they're facing." Venti had rushed some parts, emphasizing most as he had a gut feeling he knew what was going on while the traveler was away. "Being wind-borne is great in its ways, but as the gusts flow in, it may toss you straight into a maze."
"A maze they struggle to find the exit to..." Jean sighed, knowing the feeling. "I'll leave you two alone for a minute. I'm just going to grab the traveler some water."
Venti nodded his head, as he reached out for your hand, holding onto it as he softly ran circles with his thumb. The god's head slumped down as he heard the door shut, resting no weight into the palm of your hand. The feelings he held for you were so strong, yet he has never forced it onto you and sticks to his flirtatious ways. He wants nothing more than to express the way he feels for you but has never found the time. That's why he awaited your arrival back to Mondstadt... and why he kept a close eye on you as soon as he found you, looking for the perfect moment to swoop in and greet you. Never did he expect it to end the way it did.
As a piece of the blanket gently fell from your arm, Venti looked up only to see you still unconscious, but the scars on your arms had caught his attention. At first, he assumed they were all battle scars, yet after taking a closer look, some looked almost too organized. "Why are they doing this to themself?" His thoughts quickened and his eyes worriedly looked over every single scar as he could only hope it had never gotten too much farther than this. He thought, "If Paimon knew about it, she would've told someone, right? So does anybody even know?" He felt guilty for even looking at them, but now he knew that his guess was correct, though he never wished for it to be.
Eventually, Jean came back, to which Venti grabbed the part of the blanket that fell and calmly tucked your arm back inside while Jean placed a glass of water down on her desk before unfolding a hand cloth to use.
Venti scooted his chair back as Jean came over and knelt down by the couch to get closer to you in order to help you drink the water she offered. Of course, you had no clue... only hoped that you wouldn't wake up.
Was that completely true, though? You had heard the voice of someone you cared for, more than most, in what you thought was your last waking moments. Would it be fair to leave him?
As quickly as the night had fallen, time had gone by and shortly revealed the sun. Everyone in their city was just awakening from their sweet slumber, unlike Venti who hadn't slept at all. He was too worried about you to worry about his sleep, and although Jean tried to talk him into rest, it didn't work. Venti had witnessed the sun fall and rise, all while watching your face closely.
With a sudden sigh escaping his lips, he took hold of a lyre he so carefully strapped to his waist and began playing a tune, one which he played for you many times. He hummed the words, instead of singing them, strumming the strings to the beautiful instrument you know only he would play. The soft song had lulled you back to your senses as a smile grew on your still-sleeping face. Venti gave a soft giggle as he noticed your now peaceful expression, and to it, he started to quietly sing the words. Soon enough, your eyes fluttered open and you felt the smile on your face when you realized the melody being played right beside you. Turning your head slightly, you saw Venti, his eyes gently closed as the sun shined an orange tint inside the room and welcomed you into a new day.
The song had sadly come to an end, and as the boy began to pocket his Lyre, he noticed you completely conscious and staring right at him.
"Who knew waking up to such a pretty song would be so enchanting." You managed to say as you sat up slightly, your smile only growing bigger.
Venti said nothing, he just hugged you at your waist, his head planted softly on the blanket on top of your torso. You, surprised at first, sunk into the sudden hug, happy to be there, his arms wrapped around you.
"Are you hungry?!" Venti sat up within a split second, his eyes hastily moving from one of your eyes to another to find your answer. "Please... be honest with me."
"I- uhm..." You stuttered initially, nervous to say what you knew or what you felt. "Yeah, I am."
"Great, I'll go get something for you-!" To the sudden tug of his arm, he didn't even get the chance to stand fully before this new found confidence of yours took control.
Though you only wanted to hug him again, where this ended up going wasn't so bad either. Your faces were inches away from each other, his other hand on the couch cushion beside you as the one you held had moved to the arm of the couch. You were practically underneath him, and his face was in shock, but it gave you a clear view of his reddened cheeks. He broke the eye contact the two of you were having as he nervously chuckled and looked away, but you continued to look at him. You studied him, the way his smile curved nervously on his face as he seemed conflicted between what he wanted to do and what he should do. The way his eyes looked around, moving quicker with every thought he had. Your hand reached the side of his face with a gentle touch, guiding his gaze back towards you where your eyes met once more.
"Uhm... Traveler?" Venti questioned softly, genuinely confused.
You didn't fail to notice the way his eyes moved from your eyes to your lips in such fast and brief moments. He thought he was getting away with it, but he wasn't, he was only making it more obvious by the second, so you sat up ever so slowly until your lips hesitantly but finally made contact. The tender kiss lasted but a moment, but it felt like an eternity after having waited so long for this honest and passionate kiss between love never discussed.

Title: Past Memories
Character(s): Venti (Genshin impact) Summary: He lost you and his friend in the past. He would not lose you the second time. Warnings/tags: Yandere themes, Fem!reader, reincarnation au
[ - A little present~! Event - Closed - ]
Tumblr media
Venti loved you from the moment he was born from a blow of the wind. The moment he saw you as you held down your the skirt of your dress, he fell in love with you. Your lovely voice, startled by the sudden gust of wind as you held tightly the basket of food that you were carrying.
He was barely visible back then, the wisp thought to itself soon snapping out of his thoughts when his friend called him. Flying quickly towards him, the little spirit turned his head just one time more toward you before heading to his friend.
Unknown to him, you were going to be forever etched into his mind and heart.
He had watched from afar, the person that he loved. His feeling grew more and more the more he looked at you, the more he found out about you. The more lovely you have become to him, the more he watched you. The way you talk, how you laugh, how your eyes watched the sky as the wind curls around you, how your hair follows the wind softly as if dancing along with your clothes, every single thing made him fall more and more in love with you.
It was by chance that his friend became friends with you. The two of you had similar interests, if not that your personalities aligned just right to see each other every so often. It was around that time when Venti took his chance to meet you, to draw closer to you. He thought that this would be enough that everything was perfect.
Too bad nothing last forever.
As the war continued, he watched the world around him decay and destroy. His friend was killed by the enemy he wept in bitter sadness, but soon after you too had left this world with an arrow struck to your chest. Your last moments were with the little wind spirit you called him.
With your remained strength, you raised your hand as he pushed himself towards it like how a person would hold their dying loved one's hand. It made you smile as you told him how adorable he really was, something that he had heard many times from your lips. You told him to take care, you told him your regrets to leave so soon but you also told him that you were so thankful to have been given this life. It was hard for him to leave you even as your hand fell to the floor and your skin cold.
You never felt his heart even after years have passed. As Venti took the appearance of his dead friend for you, he cherished your deep inside his heart. And even after so long, his heart still has a painful thorn on its side.
It didn't happen every day maybe once or twice a year he would drink a little more than usual, a certain date that Diluc had noticed now as he watched the bard just drink, drink, and drink.
He used to try stopping the bard before when he thought that this was just too much, but he stopped at one point letting Venti drink by himself only walking up to him when Venti had called him for another bottle.
Diluc had heard Venti mumbling many times in the past when he got like this. He wanted to forget, yet when the bard passed out, Diluc could hear the name of a woman that the bard loved.
Diluc thought Venti was a heartbroken man, having lost the love of his life in death, something that even archons could not prevent. He thought that Venti would heal at one point, no matter how long it would be. He was right in some ways, but he was also so wrong....
After all this would be the last time that Venti becomes this broken, this shattered like this.
Because... because he found you.
As Venti looked at you, his eyes wide as he wondered why, why has he never noticed you before till now. As you looked at him surprised, your laughter dying out as you played under the sun. He wondered how and why you were here. He knew you had died long ago.
Yet as the wind blew and you touched his skin, wondering if he was okay or not, Venti could not help but gasped. It wasn't relief, nor was it gladness. He was breathless seeing you, but something twisted tangled in his heart too. Somthing far more twisted were hidden within those tears as he held your hand while you looked alarmed at the stranger who was crying.
The fear and loneliness for so long felt like it was finally going to suffocate him as he looked at your worried eyes. Many told him to let go of the past and look forward, yet he was unable to, clinging to the past where you were. He wondered every day if he would ever see you as he sang and rhyme tunes of love when he was alone.
To the sharp mind tho those lyrics had something darker to them, if Venti could continue on without any interruptions, the songs only get darker and darker. But he always stops because he knows that the world does not need to know these feelings they were, in some ways, a desperate fantasy.
This was the last day he would mourn for your death, for you were here now. Now with him. He will be the one to protect you and love you... the things he wanted to do in the past. He will keep you safe, and he will keep you under his watchful eyes.
After all, he lost two people he cherished much. He would never allow you to slip away from his sight again.

So uh.. venti hc:
I think venti would be claustrophobic. Like, to the point that being in like a 4×4m space would make him really quite uncomfortable. It would be fine if theres ppl there, or at least he can more or less hold it together around others to a point, but yeah.
Cuz hes the god of freedom, and- actually no that abt it. But still.
Maybe smt like this (under the cut) would be how it was discovered by the dvalin gang (yk who i mean), when they wandering around old mond before the battle with dvalin.
Imagine like:
"Heyy, look what Paimon found!" Paimon's voice echoed through a gap in the ruins, about the size of a tiny door. Her head poked out of the hole. "It's bigger inside, and look at all this stuff!!"
The traveller wandered over, curious as to what Paimon had found, and Jean and Diluc followed. Venti, however, hesitated, looking rather uneasy at the sight.
"Venti, come on - there's all kinds of old artifacts and weapons in here..." The traveller trailed off, her and Jean already in the cave with paimon. Diluc was peering in through the gap, too tall to fit.
Curiosity got the better of the bard, and he forced himself to peek inside, but to his suprise a pair of arms reached out and pulled him in.
"Look at this," the traveller said, dragging him right in then turning back to the sword she had been studying.
Everyone was captivated by the abundance of ancient relics from old mond.
But not Venti.
He couldn't move, couldn't breath.
Paimon lied -
it wasn't bigger on the inside.
The walls were closing in on him, and all he could do was stand there. But be wouldn't be standing long - his legs were about to give way under him. And he could do nothing. He was trapped.
"...Venti?" Jean's voice was faint, drowned out by his quickening pulse, echoing through his head. "Venti, are you ok??" Still no response. She was really worried now.
Diluc spoke up - "Bring him out here."
"Right, yes." She said, taking his arm and guiding him out. He stumbled, his breathing quick and shallow. The traveller and Paimon followed them out, realising the situation.
As soon as the harsh winds surrounding old Mond hit his face, his breathing steadied a little. He sat on a rock, and after a moment to realise what just happened, buried his face in in hands, half out of relief and half out of embarrassment.
"...what just happened? Are you ok?" The traveller asked him"
"I-I... I'm sorry, It– the walls - it was so small a-and the... I couldn't—"
"Hey, breath," Jean put a hand on his shoulder, trying to calm him down, but only succeeding in making him jump slightly.
"I'm not... I'm not one for small spaces, I..."
"You're claustrophobic?" Diluc chimed in again.
"Y-yeah. Yes, right, that... that's the word." That took the traveller by suprise. They hadn't known him for long, but one thing they knew was that he really wasn't the type to forget words, or stumble over his sentences for that matter.
He took a few deep breaths and, calmer now, stood up, apologising.
He knew his reaction had only been worsened by the tense atmosphere of old Mondstadt. He had been on edge since they first stepped foot there, flashbacks of war bombarding his mind.
He insisted they move on, saying not to be concerned about him. His legs were still rather wobbly though, and the group couldn't help but worry slightly whenever he stumbled, tripping over his own feet.
Well uh i wasnt planning on writing that much but there you go. Yw. I wonder if this counts as a oneshot lol, or is it like in between a hc and a oneshot - what would that be, a onecannon? Oo wait, a HEADSHOT. Lmaoo. Bootifol.
Ok im gonna sleep bcuz i spent way to long on this and its 11 30 lol.
Au revoir bitches.

Venti doesn't actually apologizes. He knows that it was his fault, yes he's not denying that but soon when the fight gets over and you've calmed down enough for him to approach, he'll sneak up behind you, as quite as a lion approaching it's prey and the phrase fits perfectly, you are, after all, his prey. Soon you find yourself at his mercy, laughing hysterically until tears brimmed your eyes on the same couch you were sitting on moments prior. Every fiber in your being was trying to get away from his tickling-torture but you were just no match.
"So, you forgive me yet, my muse? Or should I continue my persuasion a little more hm?
Tumblr media
Xiao doesn't know. Fights between you two often arise due to his cold personality, but it doesn't mean you both don't try. After a fight, his mind tells him to leave you alone, give you your space till you come back to him all good but something inside him won't let his steps take him away. His heart can't stand your fragile figure curled up in itself as you cry silently. So he does the best he can. Silently wrapping his arms around you and holding your head gently on his chest. You know he's not the best with words and you're simply grateful he didn't leave.
"I won't leave. I'm right here. Don't cry. "
Tumblr media
Childe knew he was in the wrong. He shouldn't have let his frustration of work out on you. He'd leave the room, leaving you with your thoughts all alone, making you think that he just.. left you. But soon his figure would re-enter the room, this time his face holding guilt and his hand carrying your favorite food. His approach towards you is silent, not quite able to meet your eyes as his own get a little hazy.
"I-I know it was my fault. I am really sorry. Forgive me please....?"
Tumblr media
We all know how Ayato's personality work. Sharp minded and an individual who never wavers. The great nobleman of Inazuma. He wanted to believe that nothing can hurt him, that a single person's presence won't affect his life. But there he stood in front of your doorstep in this pouring rain, drenched, and waiting for you to accept his apology and forgive him. He knew he was at fault and he wanted to own up to it. He didn't want to loose you in hands of a fight. Ten minutes later your figure came in view, towel in hand as you quietly let him in and started drying him. Everything around you two spoke just one word, silence.
"P-Please.... Forgive me (Y/n). I don't want to loose you. I-I won't argue with you anymore. I promise. "

IN WHICH: a boy with blue haired tips suddenly appears & your life has suspiciously gotten a whole lot easier
❝ may the winds bless your travels! ❞

The first clue that something was off about him should have been on the first day you two had met.
You had been resting the edge of your elbow lazily across the surface of the scribbled-on chair in front of you, the lecture room softly buzzing as your muttering professor began pulling up his PowerPoint presentation on the projector.
Introduction to the History of Teyvat to Present Day
Not that you could really give a shit this early in the chilly winter morning, especially with how you found out last minute you had to take this class as a requirement for your major- rushing your ass to squeeze in this class for the semester before any of the remaining spots could be taken.
The crowded classroom had the hum of the bustling morning filling the air while you lazily fished out your charger from the crevices of the bag. As students filed in, there was a symphony of exchanged greetings, the rustling of book bags, and the soft murmur of back-and-forth conversation.
You had your busted-up laptop propped neatly on the warmth of your lap, a small yawn resting on your pursed lips. You had elected to sit in the back row of the lecture hall for this first day of class to gauge the atmosphere of the classroom. You nuzzled the tip of your chin deeper into the thick fabric of the chestnut brown sweater you had worn as your smooth fingertips wandered over the mousepad, carefully skimming the blaring syllabus in front of you.
"Can I borrow a pencil by any chance, friend?"
The voice was soft, almost like the beginning melody of a song into your perked ears- Your soft eyes flickered lightly over to the occupied seat beside you, a young man digging his hand vigorously into the empty pockets of his leather satchel, his pale fingers instead pulling at the fabric of the bottom of his bag pitifully.
His bright eyes were a serene teal, looking towards you with a hint of bashfulness at his situation, the tips of his braided hair sharing the same tinted resemblance of his expectant eyes. He wore a light blue hoodie and worn-out jeans to the lecture, his fair skin warmly blushing against the snug layers that hugged him.
He was ethereal.
"Yeah, it's fine-" You quietly mumbled, snapping from the sudden stare before pulling out a thin mechanical pencil you had packed with you, the edges of the clear plastic having indented faint teeth marks from your late-night study sessions with your roommate, Amber.
He lightly smiled, a warmth grazing across his thin lips before smoothly accepting the pencil from your grasp. Mouthing out a quick, "Thank you," before turning to focus on the flickering presentation, the soft rustles of his notebook paper humming through your ears.
Your teacher had finally started his presentation after fumbling with the remote of the projector, keeping his introduction short before reviewing the coursework required from your class throughout the semester.
He was a middle-aged man, with salt-and-pepper hair and a perpetually disheveled appearance. His wrinkled, mismatched attire, featuring a misbuttoned shirt and untied shoelaces as his wiry glasses, had been frequently perched atop his rustled head, had seen better days, with duct tape barely holding them together.
Truthfully, you weren't really paying attention throughout his discussion of the syllabus. The notes you were typing were sporadic and sloppy at best, you had nearly even forgotten a whole section of notes about the future lessons till the same boy you had given your pencil leaned over, the faint scent of dandelions suddenly lingering.
Dandelions, huh.
"He's going to be discussing the seven divine seats of Celestia," The bright-eyed boy mused carefully, a curious glimmer peeking from the corner of his gaze before lightly tapping the empty section of notes presented on the screen of your dimly lit laptop, "The Archon War," His whisper was soft with the reminder, a small laugh hanging on his pursed lips with the edge of his fingertip curiously placed on the end of his chin.
The muted hum of the old heater provided a constant backdrop to the lecture. Students occasionally shifted in their stiff seats, their movement accompanied by the subtle rustling of winter jackets and scarves. The professor's voice was clear at the very least, carrying in the crisp air as they endeavored to hold the students' attention, your light laugh mingling back.
"Thanks," The tips of your fingers curiously lingered on the smooth keys in front of you- His notebook had remained unmarked, the occasional eraser mark shyly grazing the paper with a content smile tugging the edges of his coy mouth. You tilted the screen of your laptop towards him from your lap, his pale complexion rosy under the warmth of the fluorescent lighting that flickered above in the classroom, "You didn't take any notes yourself; did you want to copy mine?"
He contently tapped the side of his forehead with a light hum, a quick wink fluttering towards your direction at the sudden rise of your right eyebrow, "I have a musician's memory, I remember most of this by heart." He proclaimed teasingly with a nearly sing-songy voice, his thin hand smoothly tugging on the thick drawstrings of his light blue hoodie.
Your eyes flickered towards his satchel, mostly remaining empty- Except with the small instrument peeking out: The lyre that was tucked away was a small wonder, made to be portable yet grand in appearance. Its body was a gleaming wood, richly stained and polished to a deep, honeyed hue.
As the professor concluded the day's lecture short, the college class began to stir with anticipation for the upcoming event. Students bundled up tightly in heavy coats and thick scarves gathered their array of belongings and began shuffling out of the classroom with soft murmurs, eager to escape the biting cold from outdoors to their next class.
You usually were out the door as soon as it was fucking clear too, no reason ever to stick behind, frequently hurrying to remain in the comfort of your dorm. Much to the disappointment of your roommate, who was very much excited at the prospect of a chattering conversation.
However, you had carefully tucked your closed laptop into the main pocket of your bookbag as your teeth chewed over your plump bottom lip, your voice smoothly carrying over to the boy with the dyed braids beginning to rise from the warmth of his seat beside you, "Are you a part of the school band? My classmate, Barbara, she's part of the school choir-" Your sudden question was immediately joined with the company of the faint tilt of your head, "I just have never seen you before around here."
His excitement was nearly bursting from the seams. "I actually recently joined the band here, I'm a new transfer-" His soft teal eyes shone almost brightly, a faint pop of his lips amusingly slipping out before adjusting the strap of his leather satchel over his shoulder with a shrug, "You certainly wouldn't forget a cute face like mine, huh?"
Feeling the ends of your ears grow slightly warmer at his boldness, you choose to ignore the question with a small scoff, instead scooping up your bookbag to the safety of your bundled arms in the midst of the conversation, "Freshman?" You replied with a soft laugh, your gentle fingertips tightly wrapping around the thin handle of your school bag before examining the youthful spirit hum.
His dark eyelashes fluttered closed at the comment, "Actually, I'm a senior!~" His dainty hands dug around the back pockets of his faded jeans, quickly patting around the thick surface before a small "aha!" formed on his smooth lips, tugging out a small brochure. “I am a bit older than what I look as many say.”
The pamphlet was littered with half-completed doodles across the front page, the information barely legible at first glance as you cautiously took it from his grasp- "You should come to watch me play!" He clicked his tongue cheekily at the offer, waving a small pointer finger at you, "I'm certain you would be entertained with my songs, mm?"
Before you could muster a reply to his offer, a mysterious yet enchanting melody began playing in the air faintly, your eyes softly widening at the soothing whisper of music. You turned your head to find the source of the sweet song but saw no one there, only a few remaining students rustling up their notes into the safety of their bags, clearly preoccupied. Bewildered, you looked back at the dark-haired boy, but he, too, had nearly vanished into thin air, leaving you with the pamphlet in hand and as he had begun to open the elongated doors of the classroom with a lingering laugh.
The winter air streamed through the tall windows of the lecture hall, casting warm, elongated shadows across the worn wooden floors, "Wait-" His damp, white Converse sneakers pausing at your sudden call with a faint squeak as your voice remained thick with confusion, "I didn't catch your name-"
The ends of his braided hair swayed contently over his shoulder, loosely resting his fingertips over the handle of the lecture hall- His peeking smile was widely spread across his face at your sudden interest, a near mischievous glint emerging from the corner of his green eyes that for a brief second, you could have sworn under the swaying classroom lights were faintly glowing.
"Venti."
Tumblr media
"The history of Teyvat is important, [y/n]!"
The dorm room was illuminated by a soft, warm glow as you and Amber huddled around your shared desks, engrossed in your studies. The room was adorned with bookshelves filled with classic novels and dented textbooks, and an array of post-it notes and highlighters were strewn about on the surface.
"I know- Which is why I'm studying this for the pop quiz, Amber."
Your roommate had puffed out her rosy cheeks, her hands smoothly closing your laptop shut with a small sigh, "Not just because of that- The history behind Teyvat is extremely part of our culture, of why our world is shaped the way it is. You are a transfer student, it is important to understand the stories and why they are so important." Amber had warmly reached over to run her fingertips over the fur of her pet bunny, dangling a bright carrot to the twitching nose that stuck out from the metal cage.
Relinquishing the snack over to the nibbling bunny, Amber briefly glanced at you with softening eyes, her warm brown eyes mingling with flecks of gold, "It is said that the seven archons were defeated in amidst the war, their remains scattered across Teyvat. Our nation was thrown into chaos, where lands were sent in disarray with the lack of guidance from our gods."
"But they managed to survive? Humanity?"
The brunette sat herself on the edge of her bed, smoothing out her bedroom sheets with her fingers, "Well, obviously, but many believe that the gods survived, regaining their strength and hiding amongst us humans for thousands of years."
Her eyes looked up at you.
"One day, the gods will return."
Tumblr media
The memory was fresh of the study session between you & Amber.
Your gloved hands warmly wrapped around the paper cup of hot chocolate that you had purchased, the shimmering golden mora smoothly justling in the room of your back pocket. With a textbook in one hand and a well-worn backpack slung over your shoulder, you balanced a steaming cup in the other. The paper cup was adorned with a seasonal design that seemed to shimmer in the morning light, a small touch of cheer in the otherwise frosty world.
The campus was a world transformed during the first snow. As the first snowfall of the season blanketed the college grounds, it cocooned the familiar landscape in a glistening white tapestry. Every building, every tree, every path, and every bench was adorned with a layer of pristine snow. The air held a crisp chill, and a sense of hushed serenity settled over the campus, broken only by the soft crunch of footsteps and the occasional delighted gasps of students.
You were only going to see Venti for a second. After all, he had seemed rather excited to perform. It wouldn't hurt to slip by for a few seconds to listen to some music.
As you navigated your way through the snow-draped campus, your steps left a trail of footprints that soon vanished in the white expanse. You took deliberate sips from your cup, relishing the warmth that spread from your fingertips to your core. The hot chocolate was a comforting blend of rich cocoa, topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Amber had recommended the drink profusely, exclaiming that it was the only thing that had gotten her through her late-night shifts as campus security.
Among the snow-covered trees on the campus quad, the flushed bard had set up his performance space, seeming to have not noticed your presence while muttering to himself- a few wooden boxes messily set up across the snow for a makeshift stage that you quietly chuckled at.
Venti was a modest figure at a closer glance, his wiry frame enveloped in a weathered, woolen coat that had probably seen better days. His dark, tousled hair, and ruddy cheeks were the only bits of color in his otherwise enveloped dark green appearance. His nimble fingers danced gracefully along the strings of a weathered lyre in preparation, coaxing hauntingly beautiful melodies from the instrument.
In the midst of this snowy landscape, you found yourself leaning against the sturdy trunk of a massive oak tree. In your hands, you held a cup of hot chocolate contently, the warmth from which seeped through your soft gloves and into your chilly fingers. The swirling steam rising bashfully from your cup formed a fragrant wisp in the frosty air.
You rarely attended these sorts of events- Due to your busy schedule, you occasionally stopped by a concert or two held by the school to support Barbara and her singing- She was one of Amber's close friends who happened to be a part of the school's prestigious choir program.
You watched the scene unfold before you, a gentle smile played on the end of your lips. Your eyes were drawn to a small male bard who had set up his stage not far from yourself tucked away near the tree. You had ultimately concluded he had an unassuming charm about him, his flushed fingers deftly strumming a lyre once more, while his smooth voice wove melodies that seemed to be born from the winter winds themselves.
As the bard played, your gaze was fixed on him, and you couldn't help but admire his talent, his nose flushed and wrinkled up in the crisp air that enveloped the environment. The soft, haunting tunes resonated with the wintry landscape; each note imbued with emotion.
The audience, which now had mainly consisted of wandering college students slowly gathering around him, listened in rapt attention, their jagged breath forming misty clouds in the cold.
You would have remembered Venti if you had seen him before- How could you not? He was damn near impossible to miss.
The bard's performance had a dreamy quality, like the whispers of forgotten tales carried by the winter breeze. A chuckle escaped from behind your wool mittens, before stiffening just as quickly.
Though, you couldn't help but notice something curious.
Each time a particularly poignant note was struck, a small, subtle gust of wind seemed to dance around the strings of the lyre, rustling his thick layer of clothing and the edges of his dyed hair ever so slightly.
It was barely noticeable. Honestly, you were doubting you had even seen it happen to begin with.
But then- another gust of brisk wind had fluttered the fabric of his dark coat, his brightening eyes glinting playfully at the whispering winds.
Your lowered eyes had caught these brief moments, flickering quickly to his wooden lyre that bathed in the attention that the bard had given him. You shifted your position slightly with your worn-out snow boots crunching under the freshly packed snow, trying to get a better look at the bard as your hot chocolate cup, nearly forgotten in your hand, suddenly felt cooler, though the drink inside was still piping hot.
You watched with a soft breath lingering on your chapping lips, what could you say? Your curiosity was piqued. The hints of wind abilities you thought you had noticed must be a trick of the imagination, you reasoned to yourself. Yet, as the blissful bard continued to play, the enigmatic breezes seemed to return, as if drawn by the mournful melodies.
The audience remained captivated, warmly bundled up students turning to one another in excited whispers and raising of the warm drinks, oblivious to the subtle interplay of air around the bard.
You- However, had already turned away.
Tumblr media
It had been a day or so since you had last spoken to Venti- You weren't avoiding him per se, but with your mind jumbled with upcoming assignments & adjusting to a semester abroad, the bard wasn't exactly easing the whole transition period either.
You briefly nuzzled your chin into the warmth of your freshly washed hoodie- You had elected to wear an ensemble of faded jeans and a pair of well-worn sneakers since you would only be heading to one class for the afternoon: Biology. Your dark backpack was stuffed to the brim with assorted textbooks and notebooks with post-it notes, boring a few coffee spills across the previous semesters, adorned with patches and pins in a measly attempt to cover them up.
From what you noted, the stairwell remained overall silent during the late afternoons, except for the occasional echoes of footsteps and distant voices from other parts of the building. The hushed tones and stillness of the stairwell were a stark contrast to the vibrant and energetic campus life just beyond its walls.
The stairs were constructed of sturdy concrete, its walls painted in a neutral shade of beige that had faded slightly over the years. It featured a broad central staircase with polished wooden steps that bore the marks of countless footsteps.
You had rounded a corner to enter the stairs, adjusting some of the notebooks you had balanced in your grasp before setting your foot to notice the worn and uneven steps ahead.
"Hey, [y/n], wait up!"
Then, it happened. A sudden, unexpected stumble sent you hurtling forward. Panic flashed in your eyes as your thick textbooks and multiple sheets of paper rustled into the air to escape from from loosening grasp. The ground seemed to rush up to meet you, and it felt like time itself had slowed.
Your eyes had flickered over to the owner of the voice- It had been Kaeya. The previous teasing smile that had usually adorned his sun kissed skin slipped- His dark hair had been messily tucked behind his round ears, his own expression stiffening at the top of the stairwell as his gloved hand raggedly reached out in an attempt to grasp for yours.
For an agonizingly long moment, you teetered on the precipice, your thumping heart lodged tightly in the back of your throat and your stiffening arms windmilling with the sudden tumble- Your cold fingertips attempted to reach for the edge of the metal railing in panic, rapidly clawing at the crisp air, grasping at anything to prevent the inevitable descent. The sudden voice had jolted you, your bright eyes suddenly widening with the impending collision with the bottom of the empty staircase.
But just as suddenly- the warmth of an adorning wind had fluttered past your skin.
Dandelions.
It lifted you gently and effortlessly at your sudden jagged breath, as though cradled by comforting invisible hands that slithered through the weight of your back. Your fall was halted for a second, only for a second, and you had hovered mid-air.
Your wide eyes met those of the boy with the smell of dandelions, the same bard with the expectant lush green eyes- His pale hands had carefully been placed on your upper back warmly in an attempt to steady your weight in his arms.
The thin ends of his braided hair nearly tickled your warm cheeks as you had frantically clutched the fabric of the thick sweater he had been wearing with your fingers with a small gasp, a single Cecilia pin adorning his chest proudly.
Venti.
He gently lowered you to the ground with his dainty hands quietly remaining on the edge of your quivering shoulders, the tips of his sneakers touching smoothly the final step with a small laugh slipping from his pink lips, you were safe- unscathed. Your scattered sheets of homework assignments decorated the floor beneath you.
"I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long, [y/n]-" Venti smiled teasingly, the curled ends of his mouth twinging upwards with a singular pointer finger waddling in the air, "Aren't ya happy to see me?"
The afternoon sunlight filtered through the narrow windows of the school, casting muted, dappled patterns on the walls, but the light felt distant as if the stairwell was a forgotten corner of the college. The soft, muted glow illuminated the dust particles hanging in the air, you had for a moment wondered if you would be able to see lingering dandelions mingling in the air.
Had time stopped?
"You shouldn't have been able to catch me if you were human. Not from there-" You finally managed out with a breath to him, your dark bookbag slumped into the corner of the stairwell before looking up at the bard with a frantic whisper melting into your seeping words, "What are you? Who are you?"
Instead, Venti had smoothly picked up one of the sheets of paper that mingled beneath the edge of his beat-up shoes with a quiet laugh in avoidance of the question or racing mind, "A thank you is usually in order, no? Sometimes even a kiss?" He lightly pinched the bridge of his nose, his words melting with a soft hum, "Never thought an interrogation as a formal way to thank someone."
Your drunken-like breaths had come out in ragged gasps before tightening on the wool fabric of his sweater tightly with the edge of your fingers. "How did you even- What was all of that-" Your bewildered eyes had quickly darted to his relaxed expression in a flicker, searching for a rapid explanation in his softening look towards you, "How did you even know my name-"
He smiled warmly before his bright green- no- now blue eyes flickered with an emerging glow emitting from them. The playful bard had allowed his parted lips to linger on the warmth of your forehead with a small hum, smoothing out some of the remaining stray strands of hair away from your heated face with the edge of his wandering thumb.
The instant the warmth of his lips touched your skin, an overwhelming wave of warmth and comfort washed you. Your bright eyes grew heavy, and, almost involuntarily, they fluttered shut with a soft sigh before slumping into the softness of his sweater, your wispy eyelashes grazing your cheeks at the final blink.
The last thing you saw was the Cecilia pin.
"Y'know," He whispered softly with a stray laugh lingering by your cheek, "Curious humans have always been my favorite,"
Tumblr media
[y/n]!"
As you slowly stirred from your slumber with a quiet breath, your blurry vision hazily found yourself adjusting to the familiarity of the warm blankets you had nuzzled the side of your cheek on. Drool had pooled on the side of your chin before wiping it off with the edge of your thumb with a small 'tsk'.
At the heart of the dorm room were two single beds, each neatly made with sheets and comforters reflecting the recent adjustments- Posters, tapestries, or photos adorned the thin walls- Your soft eyes fluttered open to the worried face of your roommate, Amber, her dark brown locks of hair spilling over her straightening shoulders, her golden eyes began widening at your flickering glance towards her kneeling patiently at the edge of your bed.
"Oh thank Barbatos, you're awake," She exclaimed with a light gasp at you small breath, her small fingertips interwoven warmly with your other hand with eyelashes finally fluttering shut. "You had us all worried. You just passed out sitting on the staircase, and we didn't know what happened."
You rubbed the side of your face quietly, your memory gradually returning with a soft sigh encasing your small gasps. Everything that had unfolded on the staircase. You couldn't help but wonder about the Venti- no- whoever he was- who had saved you and then kissed your forehead. It felt like something out of a dream.
Against one wall, two desks sat in a row, cluttered with textbooks, laptops, and notepads, bearing the marks of countless study sessions with bookshelves crammed with textbooks and highlighted notes. Amber had placed her small hand softly on the edge of your blanket, her own lips slightly pursed.
"Where's Venti?" You finally asked, your voice tinged with curiosity and slight raspiness. Your fingertips wandered over the skin of your forehead at the lingering kiss that had crossed it, a warmth spreading across your face before turning quickly glance at Amber.
Amber's expression shifted to one of confusion, her eyebrows quietly raising, "He wasn't there- Kaeya was the one who found you, [y/n], he brought you here."
You tried to explain the situation, recounting the events with the boy who had saved you. But as you spoke, you couldn't shake the feeling that your story was so fantastical, that it might as well have been a dream.
However, the sight on your desk that caught your eye—an exquisite Cecilia flower, its petals a vibrant shade of pale blue, sat in a small vase. You curiously reached out to touch it, your fingers warmly brushing against the delicate bloom.
"Kaeya found this near you," Amber continued carefully, her usually chipper voice softening as she saw the confusion lingering on your face before smoothly adjusting the plush pillow that resided underneath your back with a light laugh. "He had no idea where it could have come from."
You couldn't help but quietly smile, despite the surreal nature of the situation. You knew that Venti was far more than he appeared. He had saved you with a touch of magic, and now, with a single flower that remained blooming on the surface of your desk contently.
