why is it overhated tho?? I never understood that. sure it’s not perfect and has problems but I don’t think it deserves the searing hatred that I’ve seen a lot of people give it
i was going to type a long essay about this but in all truth i think it's like three main reasons.
the first one being a lot of the audience in the west is young gay kids and as it became more popular - the bnha fandom was a lot of shounen dudebros first introduction to fandom culture. bnha is not unique in terms of fandom in any way aside from being popular but a lot of that side of shounen associates it as a the "weird fandom." when rlly its just homos galore. like men who don't know sns has existed since 2006 lol
the other part is that both bkg and deku are extremely polarizing characters ajsdkjsd. deku is completely lacking in shounen mc masculinity. he's a crybaby and a pussy at the start unlike most mcs. he's not particularly skilled or athletic like quite literally a loserboy to the core of his core. he lacks any masculinity so dudebro twt doesn't usually fw him
and then there is bkg who is liked by dudebros usually but hated in the fandom space bc his introduction is a psycho bully and people seem to dickride him endlessly. obviously as a bkg fan i understand getting extremely defensive over him bc well. yk. but for most people they're not particularly interested in his nuance after first impressions. there's also a lot of people who find him to represent a personal bully in their life and hate him for that.
( smth similar happens w enjis arc and how people feel about him. normally that opinion is 100% going to influenced by your relationship to abuse and trauma. im much much more understanding w enji tho bc he is a grown man / abusive parent like most hateful opinions of him r validated to me )
the last reason is the art style is very silly and adorable. like a lot of people just dont fw it. i think s6 sort of changes this but the first like 3 season b cute as hell and ppl dont enjoy it like that. this happens to one piece a lot too i think but this is the least troubling reason to me. it contributes but it is what it is fr
pluvi said this and i agree so i will mention that bnha is also just. super mega uber popular so a lot of ppl probably just dunk on it to be different !!!!!

Izuku is such a weird character when it comes to a shonen fandom, bc not only do his stans and antis completely misunderstand and fanonize his character, but they also end up pushing misogyny and homophobia onto him too.
On one hand, you have Izuku the smol boy. He needs to be protective, he’s nurturing, etc. overall he posses more “feminine” traits bc people want to fit him into a specific gay stereotype. Sometimes people even mix this up by making him more “feral”, when people knowingly make him ooc, but end up actually making him MORE accurate than if he was the former. Because to them, gay men fit into two boxes: mean/creepy (Katsuki, todoroki, etc.) or nice/feminine. They view him and many other gay people as simple cookie cut out stereotypes that were a mixture of fandom culture and also propaganda going back decades in the US.
They don’t view him as a full fledged hero, nor a capable man and human being. Someone who is responsible for his own actions, masculine, etc. because if they actually did see his full CHARACTER, they could no longer see him as the gay stereotype they want him to be. People want to have heteronormative dynamics and relationships, someone always has to be the “woman” or “man” in the relationship. Regardless of the actual gender they are, they need to fulfill an agenda. And because deku cries a lot or was bullied and is often seen as weak in the story, he is automatically the woman in the relationship. It stems from both misogyny and homophobia.
But bkdk CONSISTENTLY defy that! They are defined by their masculinity. It’s seen as something positive to be, and dekus constant crying is never inherently seen in the story as feminine. I’ve seen time and time again where gay relationships/people are pushed into a certain role in a heterosexual relationship they are supposed to fill. Take Robin from stranger things. Now, I love Robin, don’t get me wrong, but the first time that we see IN OUR FACE that she is openly a lesbian and attracted to a woman, it’s with Steve. Steve is fine, sure, but the problem is that steve presents an immediate heteronormative narrative in the first episode of season 4. Going on and on about how boobs are great and that it’s not a bad thing to just say boobs, but this is child’s play. This feels inherently *heterosexual*. I’m a gay trans man, so idk if I can voice this for anyone, so I’ll just screenshot my sisters response.
Tumblr media
(She’s awesome, love her to death. Really fucking intelligent too)
This heteronormative narrative that the mha fandom continuously tries to push is the same one that the duffer brothers use. Wills character has kinda been reduced to the fact that he pines for a man he can’t have, once again pushing a character into a female or a male in the relationship. Usually the lesbian or gay one.
This rule has exceptions of course, like Luz is reduced by her fandom as the masculine one. Which is not only rooted in homophobia/misogyny but also racism. Or raine as a nb character in a sapphic relationship being put into a more feminine role because Eda has already fit that narrative according to the fandom.
But it doesn’t change the fact that Izuku is not a “feminine” man. They want him to fulfill a role in their smut as the bottom in the relationship, he has to be sexual, etc. because if he isn’t, then they have to see him as a full PERSON. Izuku possesses “masculine” traits. He has the worst sense of style, has anger issues, gets a little nervous around girls, likes heroics (something that’s been established as being seen as “masculine” in the show), is a bit creepy, etc. and people seem to throw these traits out the window in fics or other media.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are just a few things you see when you look up bkdk ALONE! There’s more too! These are full on adults a lot of the time too! Sexualizing a character that hardly looks mature either. It’s weird and entirely rooted in homophobia and misogyny.
And on the other hand, you have the dudebros. People who entirely believe that there is no way Izuku is gay in any light and disrespect anyone who does. On top of that they completely erase and or make fun of his more “feminine” traits in favor of pushing more masculine ones. They will erase any characters queer coding and call anyone weird for having a head cannon about a character.
They fully believe that Izuku should be a “real man” and beat up Katsuki, maybe tell him off, etc. because they too want him to fulfill a role in toxic masculinity no matter HOW MUCH this show calls it out! A lot of Katsuki’s character is based in toxic masculinity alone with deku’s. When deku bottles up his emotions like what he’s “supposed to do”, people think it’s normal or character development even.
They entirely lack both literary analytical skills and basic knowledge on the character you’re looking at. “Manga deku” does not exist. It was his vigilante arc and from start to finish it was never good. The story itself shows that this did nothing but hurt deku and almost kill him.
This is, once again, rooted in homophobic and misogynistic stereotypes and make an assumption of a main character based on other shonen animes. Deku is not allowed to be a crybaby or he’ll show emotions, Izuku is not allowed to have too close relationships with other male characters or it is a detriment to his female love interest, or even that Izuku is not allowed to ask for help in his battle with shigaraki. Even though, pushing the people he lives away was the entire reason all might and nana failed.
So, what, the point is that mha’s community on all sides is misogynistic and homophobic? PRECISELY. No matter which angle I’ve looked at any shonen community there is always always always at least half of the fandom consists of people who have zero clue how a gay relationship works. That it’s different from a straight relationship. And the fact that horikoshi is really leaning into the direction of bkdk being canon I’m gonna say that he’s well aware of this and wants to break it. Show a couple that is defined by their homosexuality rather than wrapped in a thin sheet of “heteronormativity” like many other shows choose to do. Namely, shows written by non queer people. Like the duffer brothers.
I only hope for the best when it comes to these two. They’ll definitely be a symbol far bigger than the mha community. Maybe even something for the queer anime community as a whole. And I’ll fucking love it if it happens.

We don't ship tododeku because "it's gay" like some of you dudebros like to say, we ship it because it's a relationship built from the ground up on a foundation of mutual respect, honesty, self care, and trust.
No, we don't dislike Ochako because she "gets in the way of our ship". We don't like her because she's an underdeveloped character that was put on screen as eye candy and has hardly any genuine, deep development for herself other than "I like the main character".
No, we aren't being "toxic shippers" unless we are going on other people's posts to spread hate and advertise our ship. Which, we don't do. As a matter of fact, I find it hilarious that we're the toxic ones, yet you guys are under every single post saying "Deku is straight" to people who are minding their own business.
You guys just love to paint us shippers in a bad light when we really aren't the problem. Just say you're homophobic and go.

They're really throwing a fit because Deku put on a pair of rabbit ears and leotard?
"He's straight! He's straight!"
Oh please! Many other straight people have done the same thing for fun, that doesn't make them any less straight!
And if with that, how we know Deku is straight? Has Horikoshi confirmed it? Where is the hard-core evidence? Has Deku himself told you this? 🤨
Fr the cope is so bad 🤚🏼 bros are upset that a supposed straight male character is dressing feminine for a minute , AND they still try to convince themselves that this is a straight dude despite them clearly thinking that Deku's actions do not reflect this 🤨 Hori is just adding to the already abundant material of Deku being a lil gay and/or not adhering to gender roles , yet dudebros are acting like this is a shocking new development and a sudden attack on Deku's gigachad hetero-masculinity 💀

One thing i don't get abt dudebro antis is like??? Why would they be ok with a gay ship like kr///bk? Aren't you supposed to hate it?
Bc honestly if any ship fits that classic "they're just friend!!!1!1 they're rivals!!!" Is kr///bk. I thought yall had standards.
Because it’s always “Deku’s straight” but never Bakugo. I’ve seen them admit that Bakugo can be gay, but not Deku who they project on. Because they think if Deku’s gay then they’re gay 😭
I’ve seen a mix of dudebros who also hate kr//bk, or who tolerate it because it doesn’t get in the way of their ship, so it’s really bizarre and disheartening for kr//bks to side with dudebros when it comes to bashing bkdk, because at the end of the day, they’re not your friends and they’re still homophobic.

Hello, Neon...Can I ask from this :
https://www.tumblr.com/demrpmemesandinboxstuff-blog1/115432041619/send-me-a-character-and-ill-do-this
For Bakugou, Gojo, Ash and Hermione...
Thanks 🍀
Hello, friend 🧡 Sorry this took a bit longer than usual, I didn't expect to think so much over 7 objectively easy questions but here we are. You with the ask, me with the essay answers 😅
Thank you for reaching out!
Tumblr media
BAKUGO
Sexuality Headcanon: the fact that the fandom *unanimously* agrees he’s not straight is hilarious. I could see him being Bi, Pan or Gay.
Gender Headcanon: Cis-dudebro but I think this is more a reflection of my own experience with gender (I say this as it pertains to all the characters you mentioned below) because whenever I see someone's trans Bakugo, I eat that up too. Specifically @peterokii's T4T KiriBaku, all their art, which includes keychains, stickers, prints, comics and pfps, is beautiful and has a lot of SeroRoki and wholesome Todofam. I also love Noah's SPITEBABY series. Stealing insight from sarajamss here but I'm inclined to trust the people.
A ship I have with said character: BakuDeku
A BROTP I have with said character: OchaKugo or BakuJirou
A NOTP I have with said character: N/A, tbh I love all Bakugo ships (barring the odd student x teacher ships though I've mainly seen those for Midoriya).
A random headcanon: Bakugo's room is in pristine condition, obviously, with demure nods to his love for All Might. But I also think he has a picture of kid-Bakugo and Kid-Zuku on his desk. I think Deku has a twin picture in his room and that's what he hides before everyone walks into his embarrassing fanboy dorm.
General Opinion over said character: Polarizing but there's a reason he's been number 1 in the popularity polls 9 years straight. For this reason, he's frequently misinterpreted in fandom, but I think the complexity of his character is precisely why I like him and it's definitely something that's being brought into the light now in the manga which I love. I recall Horikoshi saying something along the lines of whether you love or hate Bakugo, the end of his character arc will please you which, at the time, was a little concerning. But, in my opinion, he's executing this last arc beautifully. I still don't know what that'll mean for Bakugo, completely, but he's had some big, beautiful moments.
Tumblr media
GOJO
Sexuality Headcanon: Please. Even Mappa twinkified this man. He is gay.
Gender Headcanon: Cis
A ship I have with said character: SatoSugu
A BROTP I have with said character: SatoShoko
A NOTP I have with said character: any with the 16 year olds under his care.
A random headcanon: Gojo, with his luxury wardrobe, furnishings, and all his brilliance... still has the same flip phone he's had since high school. It's got all his pics, all his memories but also, lowkey? He's just not tech savvy. He finds his smartphone overstimulating and is regularly engaging Megumi on tech support for random stuff and nothing beats the satisfaction of an "I don't get email on this phone" punctuated by the clap of his phone closing whenever Ijichi reaches out requesting paperwork or reports post-mission.
General Opinion over said character: Gojo is another character, like Bakugo, who is like willfully and regularly mischaracterized by fans (both those who love and those who hate him, tbh). It's hard to remember he's just a side character because, even being removed for more of the story than he's in, the brain rot that he and what we've seen of his backstory inspires is debilitating.
Tumblr media
ASH
Sexuality Headcanon: bi, canonically
Gender Headcanon: Cis
A ship I have with said character: AshEiji
A BROTP I have with said character: Ash + Max
A NOTP I have with said character: Haven't seen anything egregious, thankfully.
A random headcanon: Ash seems like the type who would mother and tut to the younger kids while also not being completely capable of taking care of himself. Like chastising Kong and Bones for their 3 and 1 body wash meal but being completely incapable of preparing a meal that isn't microwaved. Tutting Skip for having his elbows on the bar while they eat and drink but his firearm resting on the lip of the bar is totally fine. He ruled with an iron fist, yes, but the line everyone toed was out of respect not fear per se... unless they had to wake him up, of course. Similar to how waking him is like waking the dead, I just know he turns into a big ole baby when he's sick. He used to grit and bear it but with Eiji's introduction, he milks it.
General Opinion over said character: Ash Lynx deserved better. How can you not love and want to protect this kid? I also appreciate that under all that grit, that violence was a person who did what he needed to to take care of his brother; to watch out for younger kids in the only way he could/knew how; to still open his heart and trust to a total stranger who found himself in a new country.
Tumblr media
HERMIONE
Sexuality Headcanon: Straight
Gender Headcanon: Cis
A ship I have with said character: I've started to see the appeal of Dramione
A BROTP I have with said character: Harry and Hermione
A NOTP I have with said character: Haven't seen anything egregious but likely because I'm not super plugged into that fandom anymore.
A random headcanon: I don't think Hermione ever stopped championing the underdog. She might have gotten a job at the Ministry of Magic 👀 but homegirl spent her time outside of work rallying protests, attending marches (both in muggle and magical spaces) for causes that she felt could positively shape the world in better ways than the confines of her previously tyrannical 9-5. Also, did her working there after not sit right with others? Again, something I probably more appreciate as an adult than a child.
General Opinion over said character: The Author is Dead but also, as an adult thinking about Hermione in this story, it's crazy to have given What's Her Name so much credit for writing such a whip smart and proactive heroine when she ultimately used her to also be pejorative about social justice issues when it came to advocating for the house elves. That disconnect is so ironic from someone who *thinks* they're a feminist (author's note, you cannot be a transphobe and a feminist. Further, if your feminism isn't intersectional, it's not feminism).

It's really weird how most of the time people accuse bkdks of only reading with biased shipping lenses when their way of reading the story is... To literally ignore everything of relevant and theorize cliches.
Honestly i get why so many shonen wannabe cool nerds hate and think mha is bad, it's core isn't a bunch of power battles thrown around with some few nice messages, it's very character and emotion driven. Sympathy, understanding, forgiveness and companionship are pretty common themes.
I understand why so many dudebro Deku stans loved his vigilante arc so much, because he fitted the main character stereotype they wanted to see for a while, even if Deku was destroying himself and pulling away from people he loves, putting him in even more danger. Because isolating self reliance is great, right?
Seriously! It’s not our fault that the literal author is literally putting their relationship front and center to the story. If you take that away, the whole story falls apart, both narratively and emotionally. We aren’t digging for this stuff, it’s being shoved in our faces (affectionate).
I could go on a huge rant about how the shonen genre is rife with toxic masculinity, and because insecure people flock to these male power fantasies, it makes money and continues on as usual. My Hero Academia break this mold in so many ways, while still staying in a familiar enough shape to be accessible to those who want to latch on to the power fantasy, but are open to more emotion driven stories (or those who are convinced that it’s going to get darker and grittier and stay darker and grittier, and that them trying to relate to an underdog “chosen one” wasn’t a waste and that they’re feelings of being the loner because Life Is So Hard and they want people to chase them and make them feel pursued and wanted, are justified and good.
With mha, what they’re getting instead is the message that being a machismo jerk, doing things on your own, and pushing people away, are not good ways of fostering connections with people. They’re being told that being vulnerable, dropping your pride, and allowing others to help you are how you progress in life. But you can’t be the cool and broody guy if you do that, you open yourself up to being hurt if you do that, you have to put effort into understanding others and realizing you’re not The Main Character if you do that.
What’s worse for these poor dudebros is that the vigilante arc gave them hope that they were about to be vindicated, but the message that had been subtly pushed towards them since chapter 1 was now slapping them directly in the face. And the salt in the wound was that the character sent to comfort the MC wasn’t the motherly, pretty girl who would typically be the waifu endgame these dudebros could day dream about dating. It was the angry, gruff, abrasive jerk that a lot of the dudebros would typically latch onto, and he was being soft and vulnerable. Not to mention as things go on, it’s becoming more and more apparent that this dudebro character is ALSO the love interest. Both the characters these dudebros WANT to relate to are about to be confirmed as something a lot of these dudebros would consider to be the worst insult they could be given: gay (as an umbrella term, I have no doubt deku is bi, bakugou is deku-romantic) MHA is on track to change the future of shonen as we know it, and the genre will only be better for it.

Look. No one is saying kacchan is gay for deku without reason. But let me ask the jury this. What kind of man bro would shoot death glares back at their frenemy simply for paying attention to someone that wasn’t him. Why does kacchan need deku to look at only him while getting annoyed at him forming close relationships or rivalries with other people. In what universe is this dudebro-like behaviour?
Conclusion: To kacchan, deku is his territory. He gay. For deku.
Your honour, I rest my case. 💁🏻‍♀️💅

MHA STREAMER AU
[HERO NAMES = CHANNEL NAMES LOL]
Deku/Izuku - he plays more chill games, less pvp but it does happen! he gives me dolphin energy (being someone who spends a decent amount on in game purchases but doesnt spend a ton.)
Bakugo/Forgot hero name - he got famous after a clip of him raging went viral. he mostly plays pvp and is usually at the top of games billboards. hes mostly well known for his over the top reactions, hes been banned from many MANY streaming sites for swearing too much and threatening people.
Shoto/Todoroki - Rich kid who is pretty, so hes famous. He started streaming because his older brother let him play a game on stream with him and the chat wanted him to start streaming again. He collaborates with Deku frequently!
Red Riot/Kirishima - He was a rlly sad kid who watched a long time streamer known as Crimson Riot. He is enthusiastic and a rlly good sportsman! He is the only person to have beaten Bakugo on stream, which really kicked him off!
Chargebolt/Kaminari - Hes funny! Thats what really kicked him off, some youtube video called “Chargebolt being my spirit animal for 5 minutes and 10 seconds” by a popular meme channel, and he got many followers. He mostly cries when he loses, and frequently plays with Bakugo, Red Riot, Earphone Jack, Cellophane and Pinky!
Earphone Jack - She started off playing VNs and rpgs, but is surprisingly rlly good at FPS’! She had to ban the word “Egirl” from her chat because she was tired of being called that.
Cellophane - He wears a mask when he streams and is known for being really chill and talking with the chat a lot between games. Type of guy to individually greet everyone in chat.
Pinky - Got famous for her fun personality! She gave the group of Bakugo, Red Riot, Earphone Jack, Chargebolt, Cellophane and her the name “Bakusquad” and her and Kaminari run a channel of highlights from their collab streams, though kaminari does most of the editing.
Tenya/Iida - He isn’t even a streamer, just a famous chat moderator whos a bit too strict. His brother does streaming on the side too, which is how he met Deku, Uravity, Shoto and Froppy.
Uravity - Shes cutesy, smart, and very good at gaming. She gets a lot of annoying dudebros in her chat who she can and will argue with while kicking digital ass.
Froppy - She is well known for sticking to her frog theme, and gets frequent fan mail with frog stuff! She always greets the people in chat and doesn’t play much PvPs, but when she does, she mostly heals.
Shinsou - He has a face cam but its rlly dark in his room, so his face is mostly obscured. Gets called unconventionally attractive all the time. He accidentally gathered a fanbase of “Omg do u get enough sleep at night 🥺🥺🥺” girls and doesn’t have a real streaming schedule. He once accidentally played a game with Chargebolt in it and has never felt peace since.
Creati/Momo - She mostly makes merch designs for other streamers and her art account alias is Creati. She has had every deluxe art brand sponsor her.
Hawks/Keigo - Rich boy whos decent at video games, whale, charming, type of guy to have a mostly teen girl fanbase. Very active on Instagram. Ridiculously high sub count. Surprisingly collabs with the group known as the “League Of Villains” very frequently. Got doxxed a million times by random ass people. He plays all types of games.
Dabi/Touya - Faceless streamer, people like his voice. Guys kinda emo. Worlds most sarcastic streamer ever. Extremely active on twitter. Got canceled for calling his friend gay, had to make a twitter post saying he likes men, also gets doxxed a lot, no thanks to Shoto. Plays mostly PvPs and horror games. In the LOV gamer group, started the discord server.
Toga - Vtuber. She plays violent video games. In the LOV. Sets up VCs for the LOV + occasionally Hawks to play random games together. Also collabs with Deku and Uravity sometimes! She is active well known on Tik Tok as well.
Shigaraki - Most of the time he doesnt even have voice on, and never has face on. He barely ever streams in the first place but when he does it gets either 3 viewers or 300,000.
Mr Compress - Literally just gor famous for pranking LOV members with shitty magic tricks. Sometimes streams with the others. He does the editing for the official LOV youtube account.
BONUS!
Fuyumi has a cooking channel! Dekusquad and Bakusquad both frequently have fake internet fights. Once Hawks accidentally screamed super loud on a stream with Dabi while they were playing FNAF.
if u liked this mayb uhhhh hahaha mayb reblog or comment or like

Dudebros being in the mha fandom are so odd bc they’re the same people talking about how “cool/insane manga deku is compared to anime deku”, bitch wtf-
Like yeah, sure, his vigilante arc DOES LOOK SICK and he is VERY COOL during that time, but also, the entire fucking point of class 1-A’s message to him is to tell hm “dude, this isn’t healthy for you” AND THEN HIS MALE CHILDHOOD FRIEND EMBRACES HIM!
The amount of times I’ve seen deku compared to other mc shonen characters bc of how much “better” the other mc is personality wise compared to deku is insane. It shows just how weird this fandom and shonen is towards emotional male characters.
They wanna make him oober big and strong and 7 feet tall and in a completely different style just like all might! But he’s not that. Time and time again mha manages to show positive masculinity, and it’s toxic male characters (not characters that are for jokes like mineta) aren’t misogynistic. And if they are subtly and realistically misogynistic, it’s called out by its female or male cast. Specifically kirishima and kaminari calling uraraka frail and Katsuki saying “you call that girl frail?”
Or when they say that uraraka is stale and boring, that she has no personality, that she isn’t her own character outside of deku. These are people who have literally READ THE MANGA! And it boggles my mind just how clueless and stupid these people are!
Izuocha isn’t my otp, not by a long shot, but these people will die on the hill that uraraka is uninteresting and that mha shouldn’t/never will be about love (AS IF OFA AS A POWER ISNT DICTATED BY LOVE WHICH I FIND RATHER IRONIC LMAO-)
Like I’ll die on the hill that Izuku will have an explicit or implied ending with Katsuki. If it’s an implied ending bc of publishing issues then in my mind horikoshi will juse post a page on his Twitter that he can’t even publish of them legitimately being gay and lovers after it’s over.
Anywho, this is just brainrot. No meta posts, just me being a dork for my gay people haha
Tumblr media
They should be symbols for the queer anime community after this tbh. (Art credits to @/mikahyuni on Twitter, idk if they have an account on here lol)

I saw a comment on a video saying something like "Bro Deku clearly has a crush on Uraraka but all the gay shippers think he's in love with the guy who literally tried to kill him." Ok but it's called a fandom. Dudebros think the "gAY SHiPPerS" are the toxic ones but it's the other way around. They legit out here thinking we're like "uwU BakUGOu BEatS Up DEku so CUTE I shIp!" Like who tf says that? It's not that we can't accept that Deku is straight, it's called a fucking headcanon get over it.
But also
Bakugou never tried to kill Deku lmao

The reason dudebro content on AniTube is so popular, is because all they talk about is "Hhhhh girl hot Deku cool and badass gets ALL the girls 😎" Using an obsene amount of clickbaity titles and thumbnails (always involving Ura and Deku doing the do fsr). They can't come up with something other than that, all their theories are based around that alone. Occasionally they try painting Bakugou as a villain (because ofc they do). They will only ever talk about ships when it's to sexualize the girls (in lesbian relationships) or to bash gay ships, because two boys together is suuuper disgusting, am i right bros???
Like idk what's with the American side of AniTube but literally this is all there is. Other sides of it have so many great analytical reviews and are funny in a way it doesn't feel malicious towards the fandom but i can't understand or find many of them properly because of this language barrier. 😢
*sigh* I also wish I understood other languages better so I could participate in less toxic spaces. I'm pretty sure the least cringy take I saw on youtube was a video about how bnha has great rep for non-toxically masculine male characters. And the guy had to preface the whole thing by bracing himself for backlash from fellow men. So.. yeah

I find it really interesting that dudebros have the gall to talk to me when they clearly lack functioning brain cells and yet think the world about themselves because they have the ability to loosely comprehend pictures that they deem socially acceptable which apparently constitutes straightness and completely ignore when characters are romantically coded because they happen to be the same gender.
They will literally compare a gay ship to a pedophilic ship and I will ask them about their opinions on Snow White or literally any of the early Disney princesses with their respective prince who more often than not tend to be at least 10 years older than said princess and they will be like “yea it makes sense”
Must you really project yourself on to a fictional character in order to feel the lingering effect of female attention.
How do these animanga elitists think they are smarter then me because they ship izuocha while I ship bakudeku. If they had the brain capacity to see and care about good writing then they would understand how having Ochako grow as a hero is better for her character arc. While having bakugou stick by Deku’s side is better for his.
