Biology Nerd (Malleus X Yuu/Reader)

Something kinda fluffy for once with a bit of spice and a dash of angst

Content Warning: cultural and biological differences, Yuu not knowing about cultural differences and doing romantic and sexual things with others, Malleus letting Yuu touch him inappropriately but Yuu doesn't understand that touching him like that is very intimate and/or sexual for fae/dragons, Malleus being absolutely smitten, some slight Malleus angst about him being lonely, Grim being scared, dragon cuddles

(I'm probably gonna write more spec biology stuff with twst but idk)

Yuu will be the first to say that suddenly being ripped from your home and put into a completely different world where everything you know no longer exists or applies to reality fucking sucks. But, Yuu will also admit that they love having a whole new world to learn about. Learning the basics of a whole knew evolutionary and sociological history with multiple sapient species that are both human and non human while having access to a full college library? Sign them the FUCK up! Crowley was thankful for Yuu's enthusiasm. Simply allowing full access to the library appeased them. Grim did not have fun at first, but having a human look at him in awe helped. Yuu was so curious about his ability to speak and his connection to fire magic. They would not stop asking him so many questions!

Yuu went around learning with wide eyes like a toddler. They at least knew not to just randomly touch people and that it's inappropriate to ask in the first place, but still, they would not stop staring. Leona, Ruggie, and Jack can constantly feel Yuu's eyes on their ears and tails. Leona gets annoyed and snaps at Yuu usually while Ruggie will let Yuu touch then in exchange for either money or food. Jack doesn't comment on it while Yuu does nothing to try to touch him, and Jack is happy to keep it that way.

Floyd and Jade find Yuu's reactions to them to be greatly entertaining. During their first interaction, all of Yuu's friends immediately ran, but Yuu stayed, just staring up at the twins.

"I like y'all's teeth." And with a few simple words, the tweels were glued to Yuu. Yuu is always excited to see their mer form, but will gladly settle on hanging out with the tweels when they got legs. Yuu also enjoys being on teeth cleaning duty. They get to look at cool sharp teeth and a second jaw. They also get free food from the twins, and all they got to do is clean some teeth? Hell yeah! Azul could inform Yuu about what Floyd and Jade opening their mouths means for eel mer culture, but this little arrangement keeps the two out of trouble. Plus, Azul is afraid Yuu will go on a question asking tangent and will ask about Azul's mer form, and he does not want to deal with that.

The species and cultures Yuu knows the least about is the fae. Yuu honestly didn't even notice that fae were a thing until Ace pointed out the ppinty ears, and Yuu just went :o "Holy shit" :D "That's so cool!" Then there was Yuu's first time meeting Malleus. Should Yuu be more concerned about a stranger just wandering around outside their dorm? Yes, but he has HORNS! The first words spoken between the dragon fae and little magicless human were:

"Wow, your horns are pretty."

Malleus was taken aback by this human, just talking to him casually, complimenting his horns, and smiling at him with so much wonder. Even though Malleus never gave his name, his friendship with the human grew fast. Yuu came up with a multitude of names for Malleus, having a new one each time they met. Horton, Sir Hornington, Goth Babe, Briar Boy, Fae Bae, and more, but a few reoccurring ones Malleus adores. Malmal is the most recent iteration of his name that has stuck around the longest. But,, whenever Malleus visits Yuu upset, Yuu always calls him sweetie and tries to comfort him. It's gotten to a point that the Yuu always keeps a tub of ice cream in their freezer specifically for when Malleus is upset.

Malleus always knew Yuu had an interest in the different cultures and species of the Twisted Wonderland, but he didn't understand just how fascinated you were until the time for Halloween came and Yuu saw Malleus's tail for the first time. Malleus remembers it clearly. Yuu stopped a couple feet away from him, gasped, and then screamed "CHONKY TAIL!!!" The human immediately went behind Malleus, started admiring his tail, and asked so many questions. One of them being if they can touch it, and he let you, much to the dismay of Sebek who was trying to get Yuu to be more respectful. Lilia was the only one to pick up on the blush on Malleus's ears. Yuu did mistake Malleus's tail as a part of the costume, not realising it was actually a part of him at first, and apologized, but Malleus assured you it was alright and that the can keep touching his tail. He didn't mind at all.

Now, Malleus almost abuses the admiration Yuu has for his tail. Lilia, Sebek, and Silver absolutely notice his tendency to approach them and, if they were focusing on something that isn't him, Malleus will fwip out his tail and Yuu would become entranced. Yuu just adores Malleus's tail and, whenever given the chance, will touch it, pet it, even just hold it. Malleus finds it endearing and adorable.

And well, Yuu already has permission to touch his tail, why not ask Malleus if they can learn more about his anatomy? Yuu asks to touch Malleus's horns one day. Yuu’s already stepped over the line with touching his tail, so why not let Yuu touch his horns? Malleus has now turned into Yuu's personal lapcat much to Grim’s dismay. Malleus has gifted the human with a kit for horn cleaning and visits Ramshackle regularly so he can rest his head in Yuu’s lap and have them clean his horns. Yuu is pretty sure Malleus dirties his horns on purpose just so they wil clean them, but they don't mind.

One day though, during the weekend, Yuu invites Malleus over for a full-blown sleepover. Malleus is ecstatic and quickly informs his entourage. Sebek is fully against it while Lilia and Silver think this wil be good for Malleus, though Silver wants the three of them to tag along as well. It takes some convincing, but Lilia convinces the other to let Malleus have his alone time with the child of man. Malleus packs his essentials and teleports to Ramshackle to find the prefect and Grim gathering pillows and blankets, getting materials ready to build a pillow fort.

Malleus has an absolute blast. Such simple games and activities he’s never experienced before, Malleus enjoys it all. Everything is going smoothly, Malleus is relaxing, face cuddled into Yuu’s chest. A moving picture plays on the human’s little screen device while Grim snores as he sleeps on a pillow twice his size. Yuu is petting Malleus's hair, running their fingers through it when they pause at his bangs. They shift the hair covering his forehead and gasps.

“You got scales there?” Yuu says in astonishment as they study the black scales on Malleus's forehead.

“Hm? Have you not seen them before now?” Malleus asks.

“I guess I haven't.” Yuu runs their fingers across the scales. “They're pretty. I'm surprised you don't have more scattered around.”

“Oh, I do, but I find others are less intimidated when they're hidden. My clothing preferences hide a majority, but I also utilize magic to hide some of the more obvious ones.”

“But they're so pretty!” Yuu whines but then backpedals. “I mean- If you feel more comfortable hiding them then go ahead, but I bet they're very pretty.”

“Glamor is common among the fae. Changing my skin takes little effort and is of little consequence.”

“You mean your makeup?”

“It is similar to that, yes.”

“Huh, well it's your face.” Yuu shrugs. “You can do want you want, but I bet you look cute with your scales out.”

And with that, the fae leans up and parts of his face shift, revealing small scales around his outer eyes, below and behind his ears, and along the back and sides of his neck. Yuu stares at Malleus, making the fae worry for a moment, until, suddenly, the human’s hands are on Malleus's cheeks.

“Holy shit!” Yuu squees as they look over Malleus's face. “How the fuck did you make yourself prettier!”

The dragon fae’s eyes are wide for a moment, the tips of his ears a light pink, and then he chuckles. “You are truly unique, child of man.”

“Me?” Yuu laughs. “You're the one with scales here! Just- look at how the light refracts off of them! They look black, but then the light bounces off and parts of them look purple!”

“Oh?” Malleus has never noticed that before.

“You even got little ones here too!” One of Yuu’s hands moves to Malleus's ear, fingers tracing the shell.

Malleus freezes then gulps. Yuu’s fingers run up the edge of his ear, pauses at the top, then runs back down to his lobe. Malleus buries his face back into Yuu’s chest. The tips of Malleus's ears burn red, he hopes Yuu doesn't notice.

“Ah, shit.” Yuu pulls their hand away. “Do you have sensitive ears? I should've asked.”

“It’s alright.” Malleus pulls away slightly and murmurs. “It felt nice. I do not mind you touching my ears.”

“You sure?”

“I would like for you to continue.” Malleus says with a thump coming after when his tail hits the floor.

“What? Want me to massage your ears and tail?” Yuu asks with a chuckle. “Need me to get your back too?”

“Yes, that should be adequate.”

Yuu laughs, brings both of their hands to Malleus's ears, and begins to rub them. Malleus lets out a deep sigh as he practically melts under the human’s touch. Yuu continues rubbing the dragon falls ears and and coos "If you want me to get your back, you're gonna need to move."

"No." Malleus hums into Yuu's chest. "Ears now. Focus on my ears."

"Alright, alright." Yuu chuckles. What Yuu doesn't know is just how intimate this is for fae. Touching a fae's ears is considered a very intimate activity done between mates because their ears are a major erogenous zone. At this point, Malleus isn't sure about his relationship with Yuu, but Yuu touching his ears feels right to him. The fae's eyes dilate as his breathing becomes heavier the more Yuu touches his ears. The end of Malleus's tails lightly thumps onto the floor again and again.

"I don't get it." Yuu moves one of their hands into Malleus's hair and runs their fingers down to feel the scales on his neck. "I don't get how people can be so scared of you when you're basically an oversized puppy but reptilian."

A deep vibration grumbles from Malleus's chest and he lifts himself up, facing Yuu. The whites of his eyes have turned a glowing green and more scales have appeared encasing most of his neck and shoulders. The thin tips of a forked tongue poke out from and slip back into his mouth.

Yuu cups both of Malleus's cheeks in their hands and smiles. "Just a big adorable boy."

The sound of ripping fabric startles Yuu for a moment as black wings begin to tear their way from the back of Malleus's night shirt and spread open. Yuu looks at them, eyes wide, as they reach out and touch the leathery skin.

"You are truly extraordinary, child of man."

"Says the man who just sprouted wings in front of me."

"But you do not look at me with fear. You do not look at me with an otherworldly reverence. When you look at me you..." Malleus rests his hand over the one against his cheek.

"Malmal." Yuu's face shifts to a look of worry. "You okay? You can talk to me if you want."

Malleus gazes at Yuu. There' so much he wants to say, but he hesitates.

"But-" Yuu adds. "If you don't feel like talking now, we can just keep cuddling, or do you want me to massage your tail? Or maybe your wings?"

Malleus smiles. "I would enjoy that."

~~Meanwhile~~

"Hornton is gonna kill my henchman!" Grim runs on all four into the Diasomnia dorm, screaming at the top of his lungs. He quickly gains the attention of some dorm members including Sebek and Lilia (who drags a sleeping Silver behind him).

"How dare you use such a name for the Young Master!" Sebek is screaming back. Silver finally wakes up from all of the screaming, so him and Lilia get Grim and Sebek to stop screaming and have Grim finally explain why he's there.

"I heard a ripping sound and woke up to see big wings and a pair of glowing eyes on top of my henchman. That prince of yours is going to eat them!"

"Oh?" Lilia coos with a smirk. "I don't think that will be happening, at least not the type you're thinking. Still, I have not had the talk yet with that boy, so maybe we should drop by before we're stuck with a political crisis."

With a quick teleportation spell, all four are just outside the Ramshackle Dorm. The door is slammed open to reveal a dragon (that is way too big to be in the common area) curled up, sleeping like a cat, with a little human laying across his snout and forehead, passed out with a smile on their face.

OK, uh, I am, like, writing this crack fic right now, don't worry about it too much, and I was looking back up the Meta Liberation Army thing...

And, uuuuuuuh...

Can we talk for a QUICK SECOND about the ideology of BNHA villains?

OK, like, I'm trying to do this thing in the fic, where I position the Meta Liberation Army and Humarise from the Movies as two diametrically opposed ideologies for obvious reasons, and Humarise is easy as shit to write, it's just a Death Cult who believes in what is, in universe, a fringe conspiracy theory by a disgraced quork scientist from 50+ years ago, an hypocritical one at that since none of their high ranking members are Quirkless despite advocating for Quirkless rights.

Anyway, in my fic they just finance the Shie Hassaikai for now, hence the gang not going under, and and will come into play later, but I had the bullheaded idea to also tackle the Meta Liberation Army immediately for added drama, you know, the parallels, and holy shit...

The MLA are Ancaps.

This is, and I can't stress this enough, the most charitable way I can read them.

Their entire ideology is essential unregulated freedom. Everyone should use the quirk the way they see fit, with no permits or licences, always. Basically the dissolution of the social contract they are currently living in.

This is also the ideology of the League of Villains mind you, but there is a big difference there.

ReDestro is a rich fucking businessman.

The three top leaders of the Army? One controls the biggest telecommunication company in the country (Modern Media) the other their biggest publisher (Traditional Media), and the third is a GODDAMN POLITICIAN.

Do we know... ANYTHING about the Political Leanings of the Hearts and Minds party in canon? Like, I assume they'd be advocating for ways to ensure Meta Liberation Army doctrine to be upheld right? Which means tax cuts for their allies, lessening in quirk regulations, I guess some Token Heteromorph support?

Keep in mind the only Heteromorph among the MLA top ranks, as well as the only woman, is also conventionally attractive. Like, I can DEFINITELY see her as a great example of some weird Glass Ceiling "Got mine fuck you" situation, in the way her gender and quirk are ultimately secondary to her Social Class as a member of the rich elite.

Like, shit, the more I read about them the more I am amazed Horikoshi essentially wrote about how in the BNHA universe there is a secret society composed by the richest men in the country, infiltrated at the highest ranks of society, even among heroes or the commission, advocating for deregulation and zero oversight...

And then just... Did nothing with it.

Like, ReDestro straight up... Picks a fight with the league and then that's it, we doing villain shit now, time to suicide bomb the commission for no reason, the MLA could have EASILY fucked over Japan with a 10 year plan of gradual political shift, and NO ONE could have done anything about it cause they are just normal businessmen at that point.

"You don't arrest Lex Luthor for burning the rainforest you arrest him for using a giant robot to do it" sort of shit.

Like, imagine this shit is tackled with the gravitas it deserves, and Izuku has to come face to face with the fact hero society is corrupt and a slave to capital and he can't do jack shit from stopping a LITERAL POLITICIAN from spreading harmful rhetoric via social media and the traditional medias unless he goes rogue and starts car bombing people, that he can't even "vote with his wallet" cause Detnerat controls most of the market when it comes to support items?

"Wh-Who are you?" A male mumbled to a black haired man who carried a suitcase of money.

"I saw that shit, Kiryu-chan!" Another person's voice spoke. The pair looked towards it, seeing someone carrying an umbrella over their shoulder with a grin. They had an eyepatch over their right eye, as well as a suit over their figure. "M-Mx-?! Kiryu-?! You mean..." The first man mumbled. "Yep! The Dragon of Dojima, Kazuma Kiryu-chan!" The black haired man silently bowed his head. "It's been a while, Sir (Y/n)." Kiryu spoke as the person in front of him chuckled, the two men behind them following after with soft glares over their faces. "Put a lid on the formal shit. Heard you were gonna head up yer own family soon." They spoke while walking around Kiryu to the man on the floor. "By the way... this bar over here." (Y/n) looked up at a building. "That's where your sweetheart works, right? And I hear she's real easy on the eyes. Everyone's sayin so." (Y/n) continued to walk around Kiryu's figure. "They all just want in on the action!" He stayed silent with his same expression as he saw the person lean in. They then looked back at the man on the floor. "Anyways, whaddya wanna do with this fool?" He jolted. "I'm sorry! I didn't know it was you, Sir Kiryu!" He shook his head. "No, it's fine." The male spoke. "Too soft, Kiryu-chan! Soft as a marshmallow! You gotta make things right! Like this!"

(Y/n) whacked their umbrella into the man's face.

"I ain't even done!"

They continued to smack their umbrella down on the unfortunate man's face again and again.

(Y/n) then turned the umbrella around, aiming to stab the man right in the face.

Well, that was until their wrist was suddenly grabbed, stopping the man from his own possible death.

"The hell?" (Y/n) glared at Kiryu. "He's had enough." The male replied. "But I was only doin' it for you." The person tilted their head with barely saddened eyes. "And I say it's enough, so-" Kiryu was cut off. "Oh...? Well, fine then." (Y/n) nodded. "But when ya get your own men, you're gonna have to lay down the law. Let's roll." The person turned as their men did the same. "Yeah. I'll keep that in mind." Kiryu replied. "But..." This made (Y/n) stop. "Huh?" They looked back at Kiryu. "But what?" They questioned. "I'm going to do things my own way." Kiryu answered. (Y/n)'s eyebrows seemed to furrow as they walked towards the male. "And what way is that?" They questioned. "It'll be the right way." Kiryu answered. "The hell? You tryna start shit?!" (Y/n) leaned closer to him, their remaining eye glaring into his face. "I'll fight ya right here, right now!" They spoke. "No." Kiryu firmly answered as he stood his ground. "I've got no reason to fight you." He spoke. "There's no point." He added.

(Y/n) immediately slapped the male across the face.

"How 'bout now?" They questioned with a grin. "That enough reason to fight?" The person asked again. "... If I've made you angry, Sir (Y/n), I apologize." This response only seemed to irritate the person even further. "What was that?" They questioned.

(Y/n) then whacked Kiryu across the face with their umbrella.

"C'mon! Show me you've got some balls and fight back!"

He received another hit to the face, making blood trickle down the side of his head.

"And with that... Are we done here?" Kiryu questioned. "Huh?!" (Y/n)'s eyebrows furrowed yet again as they tossed their umbrella off to the side. They then took out their Demonfire dagger, pointing it up to Kiryu's face. He stood entirely firm without any sense of hesitance. "You talk tough... But I wonder how long that'll last." (Y/n) spoke.

(Y/n) pulled their knife back before stabbing it at Kiryu's face.

Yet, he stayed entirely still, his figure still entirely still.

Just like a statue.

As (Y/n) expected...

"... Whatever." They sighed as they tilted their head. "No point? You're just makin' things harder on yourself. Deprivin' yourself for no reason." (Y/n) slightly leaned towards Kiryu while sheathing their dagger. They then placed a hand over his shoulder. "You think the world gives two shits about if there's a point or two? Keep that up, and it'll break ya."

(Y/n)'s eyes somewhat reflected of sadness.

"You can see it however you want. But... Nothing you can say is going to change my mind." Kiryu answered. "... No matter what happens?" (Y/n) tilted their head again. "... Right." Kiryu nodded. The person took a few steps back with their arms crossed in thought. But in a simple minute, they grinned while looking at him with clear mischievous intent. "You got it then! I'm gonna see those ideals of yours to the end! I'll have my remaining eye on ya 24/7!" Kiryu could feel his brows somewhat furrow with confusion. "What?" He questioned. "And then, when there's a point... Are ya gonna be willing to fight me?" (Y/n) leaned forward with anticipation. "... I won't know till the time comes." Kiryu answered. "Hell yeah!!"

The person clapped their hands before punching their fist into the air. "Then all I need to do is come up with a plan to make ya fight me! Let's bounce, guys!!" They turned to their men with a laugh as they bowed their heads. (Y/n) walked past them before stopping, looking back at Kiryu. "See ya soon, Kiryu-chan! Looking forward to some fun!" He only stared with narrowed eyes as (Y/n) continued to walk out of the alley. "Man, this is gonna be sweet!" They jumped into the air before clapping one side of their foot with the other.

- Later on -

It was now night time within London, with (Y/n) silently walking down the dark streets. Rain showered down on the surfaces of the ground and the roofs as the person continued to make their way down the soaked streets. They could both hear and feel the pattering of the rain on their figure. It felt... odd. Weird. It didn't feel right. The person then continued to walk forward as they heard men ushering prostitutes towards them. Some had played along as others immediately walked away. (Y/n) then made their way towards a certain house. As they walked towards the window, they saw a silver haired man cooking something. A post it note was beside him on the counter.

(The man kept that. -(Y/n))

They softly chuckled before tapping on the window. The man looked back, only to stop once he saw them grin faintly. He only smiled in reply while walking over, opening the window. "You could have used the front door, Dearest." He spoke. "So? It was easier gettin' your attention like this, Jacky." (Y/n) crept in through the window before shutting it behind them. "You're drenched!" The silver haired man spoke with worry. "Eh? This? Nah, don't worry about that." (Y/n) smiled. "You'll get sick! You brung an umbrella. Where is it?" Jack questioned. (Y/n) stopped. "Ah... Wanna leave that for later, Prince?" They answered with a question. "That's the fifth one you've lost, (Y/n)." The man sighed. "Ah, come on, Prince." They walked over to him. "I was talking to Kiryu." Jack looked towards (Y/n). "Do you mean whacking him?" He questioned. "You know me so well." They smiled as well before they looked back at the food. "Watcha cookin', Prince?" They questioned. "I planned on serving this to you when it was actually ready. However, you got home a little earlier than I thought." Jack smiled faintly. "Oops?" (Y/n) arched an eyebrow. "The only thing you need to say that for is being drenched and getting the floor dirty." They looked down at the ground. "... Oops." Jack gently pushed them out of the kitchen. "Go take a shower." He spoke. "Fine, fine." (Y/n) took off their shoes before heading up the stairs.

Whilst they had done so, Jack had continued to cook.

It didn't take long until (Y/n) had came back down with more casual wear. "My Dear... Why do you wish to wear that?" Jack questioned. He turned off the stove before gently adjusting (Y/n)'s snakeskin blazer. "Is it not comfortable?" They smirked faintly. "... You know... You don't need to be like this with me." Jack gently placed one of his hands by their face, seeing their smirk slightly drop. "... You know fully well I can see through you like a mirror. What's wrong, Dear?" He questioned.

(Y/n)'s amused expression, as well as the rest of their smirk seemed to drop when they leaned into his figure with a tired sigh. "... Difficult day?" Jack questioned as he gently hugged them close. They silently nodded as the male brushed his hand through their damp hair. He then gently pulled away. "Why don't you tell me about it by the table?" Jack smiled faintly. "Alright, Prince." (Y/n) faintly nodded with a soft smile.

Summary: your young, naive, and an archivist from Iacon, Orion Pax taught you everything you know he was your mentor after all

Orion Pax, litterally your poster wall hero

You were young when the war started: and placed on Iacon's archivist team before war the really broke out

Young Iacon Archivist were then loaded with information, sensitive information on both sides

It was certain Orion took care of you, he taught you everything, and even before he was truly Optimus Prime he helped in sending you away

So imagine when they find an decepticon pod capped in ice and this archivist falls out

"Optimus. Is this who I believe it to be?"

"It's Y/n..."

"Alright! Y/n!" Miko cheered then stopped, "Uh who's Y/n?"

"Y/n was a young cybertroian archivist." Optimus spoke, "that I mentored personally."

So Ratchet spends his time trying to warm you up which you take to quickly.

God the conversations Ratchet could have with you. Finally someone could understand his talk

"So that means you got another prime then?" Jack asked, "or. Basically? Right?"

"Another Prime?" Bulkhead asked.

"We'll be unstoppable." Arcee smiled.

"You archivist are certainly something else." Ratchet commented, kneeling down to get a better look at you as you sat on the floor, knees in as you rubbed your helm, he moving a servo away to get a look at you, "But your tempature is starting to-"

Ratchet had gotten too close, Y/n bitting into his servo as Y/n quickly got up to run away.

"Wow. Slippery one." Arcee commented.

"I will go after Y/n." Optimus spoke, "stay here."

So Optimus goes to find you: but due to your not made for war frame: you can squeeze in areas to hide.

But then he finds you tucked away, your not even armed, but your hoping you'll just blend in.

"Y/n..." Optimus spoke, "We are not going to hurt you. Please."

Y/n was silent as Optimus kneeled down and looked at the bot, "It is me. Orion Pax."

That got you out of hiding quickly yet worriedly

It took you a moment, but you realized it: this was the guy...Orion Pax.

So he manages to coax you to atleast follow him

You do but you hide behind him

Smokescreen tries to friend you almost immediately, and he ends up running circles around Optimus with you

You're just trying to hide from Smokescreen in full honesty and Smokescreens just tryin to introduce himself happily

Everyone else seems happy to see you and meet you but its too much at once

You just contuine to hide.

Especially from Miko

Wheeljack and Bulkhead scare you even if your intrested in the history and stories

And Arcee seems annoyed with you

Ultra Magnus. You were always terrified of him to begin with

Ratchets...alright and so is Bee

You really only trust Orion though

It maybe be a bit much to try and Coax you out from behind him

"O.Orion....what do I do?" Y/n questioned holding onto the back of his arm plating.

"Let Ratchet contuine to assest you for injury."

You let Ratchet look you over and apologize quietly for it.

Orion can't stray far from you before you start to panic

You tail him like a lost puppy at a constant

Reminds him when you two were back on Cybertron working together

And he makes it clear

Optimus has always been like a big brother for you, he teaches you all he can about earth

And he even takes you out for your first drive to find a vehicle mode

As much as he Loves you hanging around, he's gotta go and do missions while you help Ratchet

But...well...having the two younger bots hang around you isnt always...the best especially with Miko and Wheeljack joining you

Wheeljacks a little shit too you: doing anything to make you embarssed and unravel into a sputtering mess

You're the easiest to embarssing, and it dosent help that you're super curious about everything

Smokescreen and Miko. Not the best influences but they teach you the meaning of fun besides data pads and lectures which you enjoy quiet a bit

If its anyone Prime wants you hanging out with Ratchet or Bumblebee

Bumblebee becomes like a really close cousin as he's also super young and curious you guys explore together

Optimus often finds that you're quiet easily able to connect Cybertron to Nature on earth

And he will listen to all your findings

Its like your scouting report and its full of information on earth plants and things that they could use as fuel plentful things here on earth

Its real refreshing too from the same old decpeticon v autobot battles

"Well done Y/n." Optimus spoke, "I believe your reports should be shared with the team. Perhaps starting an archive."

"I'd be honored Orion!"

Oh to see your eyes light up so happily

It makes it much easier and infromation for the team, and you're able to decode things way faster than any of them.

Its impressive

You do tend to ramble as you go, but damn are you quick

"See The decipticons...."

And there you go, the autobots are in shock with your quick talking and typing, talking about parts of the war you werent even there for, jumping to Iacon then to Kayon and its making some of the helms spin.

"But anyway- Oh! Two coordinates! See! Easier than organizing records on file."

Its litterally become a past time on the autobots and thats how you manage to fit in

Arcee and Wheeljack will litterally bet on how fast you can decode

While Bulkhead and Miko always try and help you in beating your all time record.

History has its eyes on you, Miss Yuuka Hirasaka (a personal rambles and first impression)

Alright, I'll admit defeat. I never thought that this day will come.

Finally, we're getting a canonical female Yuu.

Everyone, please welcome Miss Yuuka Hirasaka onto the stage!

This is a very much welcome change of pace for the fandom. This is a clear proof that Yuu can be from all gender, whether gender-neutral like Game Yuu, male like Yuuken and Yuuya, or female like Yuuka.

But, at least, personally speaking, Miss Yuuka has a lot of shoes to fill.

So let's talk about it.

There are three things I want to say. This is not a hate on the new MC that just came out. This is a personal opinion, but I'm welcome for further discussion.

1. The "Leona is a feminist King" Aspect

We all know about the headcanon of "Leona is a feminist King". Now, what does feminism mean? Basically, it's gender equality, right? Females must be treated the same way as males. This means the good and bad. This doesn't mean female is superior to male or that everything will be better if a female is in charge. At least from my understanding, forgive me if I'm wrong.

Taking from this personal understanding, this would mean Leona would treat Yuuka with equal respect as he gives to the rest of his Savanaclaw members. This will also mean that Leona won't go easy on her. Many of what I've seen from "Leona is a feminist King" is that Leona would go down his knee to white knighting and worship the ground fem Yuu walk. For me this is not feminism, it's using male characters as a stepping stone for female superiority. Especially if we look at this through a romance lens. Sure we love protective Leona, but usually, this is for a romance scenario. What would happen if this is more of a platonic dynamic? Would Leona be as protective as that?

To put it simply, would Leona give the same respect as he would give to Ruggie, Jack, and the rest of the male case toward fem Yuu? If yes, then that's gender equality. If not, that's simping.

So it'll be interesting how this dynamic will go between Leona and Yuuka. Would Leona treat her equally like how he treats his male peers or give Yuuka special treatment (like going easy on her in a fight)? Personally, I want to see both of the dukes it out, going all out with no holdback. I want to see that, just because Yuuka is a girl, Leona would still beat the shit out of her. Basically, I want to have that Bakugou vs Uraraka. Because, personally, if Leona does go easy on Yuuka, this would not only mean that he's holding back his strength aka not giving his fullest, but also this would imply that he doesn't respect Yuuka because he thought she can't handle him at his top form.

This might be a similar scenario as Epel. Epel from Pomefiore yet Leona treats him as equal in the magishift team. Yuuka can go through a similar plot, earning Leona's respect. Because only because Leona respects women as equal to men, that doesn't mean he has to be a doormat for them.

That's my personal hot take on "Leona is a feminist King".

2. Episode 2 Savanaclaw in General

This will be shorter because I'll connect this in the next part.

There is no denying that Savanaclaw Arc has its problem. I consider this the worst episode so far in TWST, and I'm not the only one. Unlike Scar, Leona's evil presence is weak throughout the arc. Some people don't take how his overblot went down. And I have a personal beef with his flashback episode being only half the runtime. I hope that maybe the manga will make it better.

Now comes the question: "will it be better because the mangaka fixes the story aspect or because Yuuka is a female?"

This is my biggest worry, and I'll be explaining it further after this.

We've seen Heartslabyul manga and there aren't many changes in the plot line. You can substitute Game Yuu with Yuuken seamlessly because there's not much to change, to begin with.

With Savanaclaw Arc and all its problems, I'm more interested in whether they're going to fix the problem or just follow the game like Heartslabyul manga. This is mostly the sin of the father scenario.

However, what about the aftermath? If the manga just follows the same plot, how will the reception be? And what is the reason?

If the reason is "Oh I like it because now we have visuals and I'm happy that we can see the action" then good for you.

But if the reason is "Oh it's better because Yuuka is a female." then we need to discuss further.

For me, having a female protagonist doesn't fix a plot or make it better. It's about the execution of the story and how the MC react to it regardless their gender.

This brings me to the last point...

3. Twitter said: "new manga mc is a female i hope fem yuu hater can choke" or something similar.

Because my first time seeing the news is on Tumblr, I've seen a lot of positive acceptance toward it. We all welcome Yuuka to the fandom.

Now if Tumblr is like this, imagine the party Twitter is having.

But, let's be bringing my biggest question concern: Do we like Yuuka because she's a female?

There's no denying that there have been many discourses about Yuu's gender. Despite Game Yuu being gender neutral, many still see them as one gender or the other. It's louder in the "game Yuu is a female" camp I think mostly because when I see a Yuu-take often followed by she/her.

When Yuuken and Yuuya came out, remember how angry some people were. They hate that the new mc for the media are males. We've seen hate toward Yuuken when he first appears. I heard someone deactivated their Tumblr when the news dropped.

Compare the discourse Yuuken had in his debut to Yuuka's standing applause despite during their first appearance nobody knew their personality. What makes it different? Is it really just the gender? Is this gender equality?

But there's also no denying that, as I said in the intro, this is a validation that Yuu can be from gender. We've seen those who get hate for having male MCs finally rejoicing with the appearance of Yuuken and Yuuya. We finally see those who get belittled from having female MCs singing in joy with the appearance in Yuuka. All in all, everyone wins in the end. So it should be good, right?

Here's the thing.

I don't want to be just like Yuuka because she has the same gender as me. I like Yuuken because he's a goofball with a strong sense of justice and seemingly a big brother. Will Yuuka has the same strong personality as Yuuken, or will everyone will grovel on her feet because of her gender?

There is no denying that fem mc gets treated differently for better or for worst. We have seen in this woke culture those so-called "strong female characters" with no emotion and physical prowess as the male or even better. In this so-called "feminism and gender equality" world, the only way to do it is to make our male characters inferior to our flame protagonist who can do no wrong. Women want to be treated with respect by men, but they do that by belittling their existence.

It happens in this fandom. I've seen many stories where the fem mc is better in every aspect, beating all the boys, always correct never wrong. If she is wrong then she'll be forgiven easily and doesn't suffer the consequences even self-mentally. The special snowflake who is adored and/or simped by everybody who even glances at her.

Now, this can happen to male mc as well, however, we have seen this less. In my opinion, this is wish fulfillment and there's nothing wrong with that. But there's a line. This is not everyone's fantasy and we have to remind ourselves of that.

Which also brings me to the next one: Potential shipping/romance.

When Yuuken first appears nobody seems to be shipping him with anyone. Only when the manga ends and we see him shake hands with Riddle, we can see the potential.

Now when Yuuka first appears, I feel like the shipping might start immediately. Because you know what else happening in Savanaclaw Arc? It's the first appearance of Malleus. Malleus' first manga interaction is with Yuuka, the female mc.

Yep. Back at it again with the MalleYuu discourse. We’re going to use this as an example because this is something that I’m sure everyone had seen.

Think of all the possibilities. Think of all the shipping material from that one meeting.

Is this the word from the writer that MalleYuu is canon because Malleus meet Yuuka?

Will it be different if Yuuken stays as the MC?

What if in the future Octavinelle Arc we're back with a male mc, will the fan treat it as a sign from the writer that MalleYuu is canon?

Is MalleYuu only canon when Yuu is a female?

This lead to the biggest dilemma the TWST fandom has, at least in them of MC Yuu's gender, whether in canon or as OCs:

What is the line between "I hate fem Yuu" and "I disagree with fem Yuu"?

When people have an opinion that Yuu should be a male because it's an all-boy school, does that makes them a fem Yuu hater?

Are the fem Yuu haters the people who are tired of "game Yuu is a female and we're going to ignore they're gender-neutral" camp?

When people push all the "proof of" romantic hint, does that only applies to fem mc, or can happen to male mc too?

If someone says they disagree fem Yuu in canon, does that make them a sexist and misogynist?

But it's okay to call slur and send hate anon when we ship or male Yuu with the boys?

Is it wrong or spiteful that we want more male mc or reader content from the overwhelming female mc or reader request and headcanons?

Does the shipping culture only for M/F community and everything that's not hetero is wrong?

So many questions, so many dilemmas, and not enough braincell juice.

Conclusion:

The spotlight is now on Yuuka Hirasaka, our first canon female mc. While this is proof that all gender for the mc is valid, that doesn't mean she's free from any discourse. I'm looking forward to the cast interaction with her. Will they give special treatment to her or will it be the same as Yuuken's interaction?

Personally, I don't want Yuuka to be treated differently just because she's a female. I want to see her personality shine outside her gender as further proof that no matter what gender your mc is, as long as they have strong personalities, they can make the story great.

im reading a book rn abt rural USAmerican men who ID as straight but have sex w other men, and like. in retrospect we criticize heath and jake for saying in a few different interviews that they believed ennis and jack were "straight guys who happened to fall in love w a man", but this book is kind of making me think that they had a point in a weird, twisted, unintentionally accurate(?) way 🤔

basically, the book sheds light on the idea that sexuality labels like "heterosexual" "homosexual" "bisexual" etc. are all social creations that have little basis in biology, and because of that, the US has a large percentage of men who identify as straight yet have had sex with other men.

there are many reasons why they identify as straight even tho many of them form homoromantic social relationships w the men theyre sexually involved w, but some specific ones the book identifies are the fact that for many of these men, embracing an lgbtq identity is incongruent with their concept of masculinity for themselves and others. so even tho some of these men who have sex with other men report feeling little attraction towards women, they still feel more inclined to identify as "straight" or "heterosexual" bc theyre masculine guys who like sports and other manly things, and their perception of the masculinity of gay or bi or queer men inherently goes against how manly they view themselves. basically, "im cant be gay because im into fishing and hiking and football, not fashion and musicals" type shit

after reading this in conjunction w the book that heath and jake were given to read before filming began, their comments that ennis and jack were "straight guys" kinda makes sense if you take into consideration the fact that jack and ennis just. did NOT have the language to describe their experiences, as many rural gay men described not knowing what being gay was outside of the whole "queer men are pansy predators" thing

furthermore, even if they did have the vocabulary to say that they were basically exclusively attracted to men, the fact that the social contexts they were raised in were so violently homophobic means they never would have felt easy embracing a homosexual identity label

and yeah yeah the whole argument for what their sexualities are at all is up in the air yadda yadda, but bc annie proulx got the idea for the short story by questioning what life would be like SPECIFICALLY for a gay man growing up in the rural northwestern US, I personally think that ennis and jack are both basically only attracted to men. they just deny this fact to themselves, both to varying degrees, because they can't feel like the normal, masculine cowboys they wanna be if they admit that they A. aren't really attracted to women and B. want to be with another man.

in conclusion, the social psychology of sexuality and gender identities are wild, and jack and ennis are gay straight men. its all truly fascinating stuff

What if Rhaegar, Elia, and Lyanna were genderbent?

I've answered a few about Rhaegar being gender swapped or stillborn and that answer essentially boils down to "his mother's life sucks even worse than it does in canon, plus the political scene is tense as FUCK." i've also answered some about lyanna being gender swapped as well, which is basically just "lyanna is having the time of her life chilling in winterfell while westeros burns around her" hah. never done an elia one, or all of them swapped.

But okay - Lonnel Stark is, in all likelihood, just chilling out at Winterfell. Either he or Benjen gets fostered out (I speculated on where in that other ask, but I think it's likely he would be sent to a Reacher house, where there is currently a plethora of girls to get engaged to, or the Lannisters, and if Tywin is meant to be the foster father of Benjen or Lyanna/Lonnel as the war kicks off, that puts a fun spin on what Tywin is going to do if he has a potential hostage and/or closer alliances with the Southron Ambitions plot), and which one is fostered out probably depends on the ages of the people he's fostering with. But no matter what, both of them are just kinda chilling. After the war, if a bunch of the Stark men die, having both Benjen and Lonnel would help a lot in rebuilding House Stark as well (ntm, I think it's likely Benjen went to the Wall out of guilt for whatever happened with Lyanna. If she never leaves with Rhaegar, that guilt goes away!).

Rhaena Targaryen, first born daughter of Aerys, cannot inherit but she is a catch. I'm sure there's some plans to have her marry Aerys and Rhaella's first born son, but when that first born son never comes, Aerys (and Steffon, probably Tywin as well, as I imagine the people doing most of the actual ruling early on was those two. I have always pictured this dynamic as the two of them teaming up on Aerys to babysit/keep him occupied while they do the actual work, haha) looks to make a smart political match with his daughter instead. Enter Jaime Lannister. Aerys is going to be a huge weirdo about this, Tywin is going to get his feelings hurt, Cersei is going to start scheming. Exit Jaime Lannister. But...Enter Robert Baratheon.

That's right my man, the one, the only, Bobby B. is marrying girl Rhaegar/Rhaena. My reasoning is this: Steffon has already brought Robert to court several times so they're familiar with each other, Robert is knighted fairly young so he proves himself "worthy" of the honor, and best of all he has a Targaryen grandmother. Not only does this keep ~the blood of Valyria~ strong in House Baratheon, but it also helps in the long run if the Targaryens keep having fertility issues, because they have another Valyrian house to turn to for potential brides. BUT. There is a challenger here - ENTER ELLARIO NYMEROS MARTELL!!!

While I think Aerys himself would rather Robert because he's a racist freak, that alliance with Dorne is the only reason Robert's Rebellion went on for as long as it did. Without Dorne, Aerys has nothing. Less than nothing, even. Granted, without a helpless bride and her two children being kept hostage in the capital, Aerys still has jack shit, but he doesn't know that now does he. Still, with Loreza and Rhaella being friends, I think Ellario is a contender for Princess Rhaena's hand (again, a bit unsure on when Mellario and Doran marry, so maybe Rhaegar/Rhaena marries Doran since he's the one inheriting, and Ellario has no seat to give Rhaena). There's some stiff competition with Bobby B. here. I think it's likely Bobby B. & Steffon win that one though, and Loreza's hurt pride means that, once again, when Aerys inevitably does something fucked up and the realm turns on him, Dorne is going to conveniently look the other way while the rest of the Lords storm KL to oust Aerys.

HOWEVER. We do have these two branches here - Rhaena marries Bobby B., and Rhaena marries Ellario. In the Ellario situation, as I point out in other asks, a girl Rhaegar would be in Dorne, not in KL or anywhere in the Crownlands. Since there's no Stark maiden for Robert or Rhaegar to get fixated on, exactly what Aerys does is up in the air here, but we know from Jaime and JonCon's memories that Aerys was acting erratically, especially in regards to wildfire, long before Robert's Rebellion started. Now, there's no real reason for Robert to go so hard on hating Targaryens in this scenario BUT if Aerys makes KL kaboom? I do imagine there comes a question of "well is Rhaena going to go crazy too?" and there's a minor stand off between Dorne and the rest of Westeros. If Rhaena marries Bobby B., I think there's a chance that marriage is used to further push Robert's claim to the throne once Aerys finishes blowing shit up, considering Robert's grandmother, Rhaelle, is used to push him in canon.

IF Rhaella and Viserys live (let's say they still get sent to Dragonstone while Aerys is making wildfire), I think things get real dicey in either scenario. They'd need some sort of consensus in pushing Robert over Viserys, and Rhaena is not going to stand by and do nothing while people call for her mother and brother to be killed.

THE REAL JUICE is If Rhaena finds the prophecy as a young girl and starts obsessing over it and what it means. She’s going to be very determined to have children (or to make Viserys have children, perhaps?), bringing her fucked up Valyrian magic to a court that is probably very anti Valyria because Aerys just blew some stuff up, and Robert, if canon is anything to go by, is going to react violently to something like that. BUT. If she’s smarter - and she’d have to be, women cannot make mistakes the way Rhaegar can! - and plays up the “i want to give you a healthy heir” thing and isn’t as publicly focused on magic, that might be okay. It DOES change the political landscape a lot because, in a scenario where Aerys gets himself ousted, and Robert marries a Targaryen, they are….basically just a continuation of the Targaryen line, in a very real way that Robert/Cersei are not. In Dorne, however, Ellario I think more likely to be forgiving of weird magical obsessions, and Rhaena would likely have a long leash (so to speak) on obsessing, but with no real power to make her plans come to fruition. in either scenario, I do wonder if Rhaena doesn't try something fire and blood magicy and blow up another building the way Egg does Summerhall. If she does, and she survives, I think that's the final nail in the coffin of the Targaryens, who would have blown up THREE SEPARATE PLACES in the last, what, 2.5 decades? I think Robert could be convinced to just send all his dragonspawn to the Faith and start over with a less ridiculous, much more rich family, while Doran and Ellario have Rhaena held in Sunspear to keep an eye on her.
