My submission for @erithel 's Gone comic contest 💜 This comic is such moving story of trauma, sacrifice, and love (with a happy ending), and it's been very special to me. She has these reoccurring themes of reflections: how two people can experience the same event very differently; and how trauma can be reflected back at you even after the event is over. Probably the image that hit me the hardest was Lance collapsing in the shower, overwhelmed. It's so real. And the idea of him trying and not being able to take comfort in his element (water), is so poignant. Erithel is an amazing artist. Go read Gone and follow her if you aren't already 🥰

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

The $8.99 price tag was almost a sticker shock for me, but the issue's slightly oversized and weighing in at 48 pages, so it's a fair price for western comics. Though it does kind of illuminate the big gap between manga and comics when it comes to "startup" costs given that for a buck more, you'd get about 3-4 times as much content from a manga volume (though manga has the advantage of B&W printing on cheaper paper, which I'm sure makes production costs far more manageable).

The pacing up front seems a bit slow (I feel like we haven't actually "entered" the story yet) which makes me a bit nervous for the rest of the series. I love it whenever western comics branches into non-superhero genres, but scifi itself is fairly well-trodden and this story isn't doing anything particularly different or interesting. (Void Rivals, for example, has a lot of similarities with Saga, but enough differences so far to be well worth reading)

I'll probably drop it if #2 is about the same, but it could just be that the story is a slow starter.

The art is frigging amazing, though.

today I discovered that in bg3 not only can your mage hand get caught doing crimes and be given the chance to talk its way out of it, but if you fail (that -5 penalty to charisma sdfsdf) the guards will take it to a jail cell

I can only imagine what kind of slapstick shenanigans happened trying to wrangle that thing along the way

Yes, he does.

Everything's pretty much the same when it comes to the regular story in this AU. It's just the past, especifically Papyrus' past (wich we don't know much about to begin with) that changes

Actually Flowey is one of the main characters in the story! (the main story of this au is divided between the past before the game and a post-pacifist timeline:D)

He and Papyrus will have a fun dynamic
