Fresh Starter (Scorbunny TF)

One last Pokemon Day post, this time by yours truly! My bias for rabbits is well known, and with Pokemon I'm fortunate to have choices between two evolutionary lines I happen to love! Now everyone's met my Lopunny'd sona in the past, but today I worked out a scribble of the other key line - starting with its basic evolutionary state, Scorbunny! Anyone in this situation would be more than a little shocked by the shift, but that's doubly true here. After all, it's one thing to shrink in size so far as this - but for your clothes to end up even bigger than you are? Upside - starter Pokemon are rare in the wild, so maybe he won't be found at all! Downside - starter Pokemon are *rare* in the wild, so if he is discovered, Arceus help him, eh?

A What-If Scenario for Goh and Cinderace in episode 127... (spoilers)

The translated title for the episode is, "Go and Aceburn! The Place Where It All Began!!"

What if it's the place where it ends as well, in a sense? Or, maybe, comes full circle?

Cinderace will be reuniting with the same group of Nickit that it was friends with when it was Scorbunny. As a Scorbunny, it cared for and looked after the Nickit, bringing them food and defending them. The translated summary for this episode reads:

"As Go and Aceburn visit the scone store in the Galar region where they first met each other, Aceburn reunites with the Kusune it used to spend time with back when it was a Hibanny. The Kusune have stopped causing mischief and are now quite popular with the townspeople. The Pokémon are happy to see each other again after so long, but the shadows of both a Galar Nyarth army led by a Nyaiking as well as the Rocket Gang are sneaking up on them……?!"

It sounds like the Nickit are going to need defending, and sure, everything could be resolved in a single episode, but could we be looking at another Pidgeot situation? Ash's Pidgeot stayed behind to protect the Pidgey/Pidgeotto from the Spearow and the one Fearow, might Cinderace do the same for the Nickit?

The Nickit were the ones that pushed Scorbunny to leave and be with Goh because they wanted what was best for their friend. This time, maybe Goh is the one that encourages Cinderace to stay with its old friends, because they need a strong protector, and Goh sees how happy Cinderace is to be reunited with the Nickit. The storyline for Goh and his first pokémon comes full circle shortly before the end of PM19.

If this happens, and we still haven't had a reveal for the S/V anime, then I think this greatly increases the likelihood Goh is staying. I would go as far as to say that it's practically a lock Goh will stay. In most of the official artwork for PM19, Cinderace (or its previous evolutionary forms) appears alongside Goh. It's the gen 8 pokémon that is most associated with Goh.

By giving Cinderace an exit in this episode, that would free up a spot for a gen 9 pokémon to be promoted using Goh's character, both in the anime and promotional artwork. Should this happen, I see Grookey evolving early on in S/V and no longer occupying the role of a "shouldermon". After all, above all else, the anime exists as a marketing tool, and at the very least, the anime is going to market the starters, so the anime would have to reduce the focus on the gen 8 starters if Goh continues on with Ash.

It's an unlikely scenario, but the timing of this episode is curious and makes me wonder. It seems like the perfect exit for Cinderace, if this is indeed the direction the anime is heading. And really, it's absolutely something Goh would do: put the wellbeing and happiness of his pokémon and other pokémon first. He's done it several times before, most recently with Grookey in episode 101, when he was willing to let it stay with the other members of its evolutionary family if that's what it wanted.

This most likely won't happen, but given how it's possible we have less than ten episodes to go before PM19 ends, the chance of something significant happening in this episode is higher than if it had happened earlier in PM19, imo.

There are eight different design variants for the bag, featuring either an individual Pokemon from the Poke Peace brand or a collective design. The candy also comes in pellet or heart shapes, the latter featuring seven different Pokemon faces. Comm - Team Floof Reimagined (Pokemon TF)

Before Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Day ends, there was one more exploit of @8000Power and my own's legendary Team Floof, once more with art by @StarWarriors, that I wanted to be sure to share. Surely you recognize these famous Pokemon heroes, right? No? Actually, you'd be right! As hard as it might be to tell, the two shown here are *not* in fact the usual Pokemon forms they're known to take on. Typically, Team Floof is made up of my own character on the Buneary evolutionary line, and 8K's on the Fennekin line. If you look closely, however, you'll see that these two are neither, but instead a Scorbunny and a Rocruff! What could have led to something like this? In a world as big and marvelous as that of PMD though, there's sure to be a logical explanation - plus, a way to shift back. Assuming they wish to, that is.
