Ninjago is a show where early seasons were riddled with misogyny that not only affected the few female characters it had but also sabotaged the potential of some of the male ones in this essay I will:

LIKE IF A FEMALE CHARACTER WASN'T THERE TO BE THE TOKEN WOMAN SHE ONLY EXISTED TO BE A LOVE INTEREST. Nya's relationships with male characters will more often than not be them hitting on or pursuing her. If a male character isn't Wu, Zane, or Kai then they have randomly flirted with her or fought with Jay for her attention at one point or another. Skylor and Pix's characters don't experience this issue because, Pix quite literally could not talk to anyone except Zane for a while. Sky just walked herself out of the show and only occasionally shows up. Nya's not allowed to have non-romantic male relationships outside the ninja, hell she doesn't even get to interact with her much brother anymore and her parents are still basically not in the picture.

Coles character got sabotaged in season 3 because he randomly has an interest in Nya. Instead of giving him or Nya a nice character arc the writers rather use them purely for relationship drama that frankly just feels boring or unpleasant to watch. Coles still an amazing character, however, season 3 leaves a stain on it and it was unfortunately one of the biggest things he was known for besides ghost stuff til season 13 rolled around.

Then there's side characters randomly hitting on her like Shifty in prime empire, shade in Hunted, the guy in wus tea, and etc.

Ronins one of the BIGGEST examples of the writers sabotaging a character and their relationship with Nya so they can have pointless drama that goes no where and never gets mentioned or brought up again. Like instead of letting Nya have a friend/father figure she has things in common with and can talk to they rather just make him another guy who's attracted to her, it doesn't affect the story in any way at all and it FEELS SO FORCED AND UNNECESSARY!! HE WAS HELPING HER GET THROUGH HER ISSUES AND SHE GUINUENELY FELT COMFORTABLE TALKING TO HIM WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT???

I really wished they used Nya and Ronins arcs to show how everyone learns differently, like Wus way of teaching her honestly didn't do much except aggravate and annoy her. Ronin could almost immediately spot why she was struggling and gave her advice that genuinely helped her gain complete control over water, and after she reversed water successfully for the first time and got really excited about it; Ronin walked away from her SMILING. I just want THAT version of Ronin and Nya back, it was amazing.

"I had already left America by the time the Third World War started. To this day, it's unknown exactly what caused the war to even start or escalate. Some people cite the main reason was the death of the former U.S. president, with America pinning the blame directly on Japan's shoulders. ...And many people cite this man as the one responsible. I do know America tried to demand the Japanese government turn him over to them, but Japan refused. ...Ha. Can you imagine? A world war starting all because of one country, or rather, one man's actions..."

"Besides that, what little I know of this man is that he used to be a famous hitman that was called, "The Reaper". Hmm, I have to wonder just how many people he had to kill to earn a name like that. ...On second thought, I think I'm fine not knowing."

"Wow... so this child is the "Sweetheart Killer", Japan's most notorious serial killer? Huh. ...You know, knowing what you know about the kid and how he was abused his entire childhood, you can't help but feel a bit of sympathy for him. I mean, being used as a sex toy for sick and depraved adults by your own mother? That sounds like something you'd only hear in horror fiction novels or movies, not in real life. And to think that there are actually people out there that get off on raping kids..." Kai shakes his head at that, as if at a lost for words.

"...Still though, when the news reported that the "Sweetheart Killer" had been arrested and found guilty of his crimes, you can imagine many people's relief. Even I, despite finding out that he was only a 21-year-old, found it a bit easier to walk outside again."

"And last but not least, the infamous pyromaniac known as the "High-Rise Bomber." The last time this man struck Minato, he had almost set ablaze the entire city of Aoyama, which, if you don't know your geography, is only a hot skip and a jump away from Roppongi; approximately 20 minutes, if you walk. It almost made its way here, but thankfully, the fire only did minor damage and it was easy to fix."

"...Still, when I think of what could have happened if that fire had gotten out of control, I... well, I'll just say, I'm not sad at all to hear that this man is on death row. I mean, you'd think that considering you, yourself, were a victim of arson, you wouldn't go around setting buildings on fire, much less bombing them. ...But you never what's going on inside a person's head these days..."

In case you forget, I'm well-acquainted with a number of people since I'm a producer. I met these three and Akari during the Collaboration Event that's held every year. Despite their reputations, they all have killer rapping skills. ...And yes, I know I used the word 'killer' when describing these three. It fits."

"Besides that, I don't mind Akihisa much. He seems to be a calm individual, so long as you don't bother him. Touya and Rintaro, on the other hand... well, let's just say I value their rapping skills and leave it at that. Everything else about them... no comment."

When the night fall on Katsushika city a figure dressed in black look at the box on his hands thinking on the presents of teammates and partners in crime to the sweetheart killer

Like a shade he left the box infront the door and knocked on it

As he walked a way Aoba opened his bag seeing at his ice bombs and the explosives and went on his way

Bluefire wanted fun

-In Katsushika-

"waa! Gifts"-Touya smiled seeing the content of the box

Inside it he saw

Three black lipsticks

In the card with the same triqueta of the box was written

"happy birthday sweetheart My gift could be useful for You,the lipsticks aren't normal,why? Are poisonous lipsticks if you kiss someone with lipstick on the people going to die but You don't will be affected"-Semiramis

But in the box there was also

Photos of the detective of suginami Shuu Edogawa! dressed in menhera and even a ero goth loli cosplay

"I think this could like you, enjoyed it"-Hollow

"Semiramis? Hollow?"-Touya looked confused until Akari answered

"Semiramis is a poisoner know in the criminal underground,he became infamous after poisoning a gathering in Aoyama and Hollow is possibily the most infamous informant"-Akari said a bit confused

but Touya only saw his gift but he see another thing

A jewelry box and an envelope with the name "Rintaro" written on it

Touya give Rintaro the envelope and he open the little box with two jewels

A skull ring and pink flowers earrings with a card too

"happy birthday Touya,if You wonder the earrings ate for You and the skull is for Mashiro but aren't normal jewels,the jewels are a new invent calling phantometal if you and your teammates use it singing or rapping will create illusions who reflect them and...cancel the microbombs on their necks My... disciples have their own phantometals and they used it on his... announcement of they presence on the rap battle,i don't give one to Himura' 'cause I already gove him a phantometal the necklace that he received on his birthday"-Katakuri

When he opened the envelope he saw a draw and a letter

The draw is a draw of Aoba dressed with the off shoulder black shirt and the laced black mask that he wears as Bluefire but without the wig

In the draw Aoba held a flame of his characteristic blue fire with a little smirk but but his eyes were melancholic

He read the letter

"Aoba don't know about this so I'll will be direct,I know about your... former relationship with My brother and I thank You because you made him happy in a way that I never saw on him so accept this draw of my nii chan as a gift

and I'm honest when I say that Aoba love You,he still loving like years ago and if You want something with him You have My approval

Ah! Aoba left the gifts because he went out to play with blue fire near Katsushika so catch him if You can"-Kururi "Saika" Yamamura

As Rintaro read the card he asked Akari "¿Who's Saika?"

Akari blinked but answer to her older brother "Saika is a serial killer but she have some terrorist acts,Saika appeared since two years ago almost the same time as Me and Bluefire...she becomes infamous when killered all a Yakuza family on they own building, building that after was fire down by Bluefire"

Rintaro looked at her "well apparently we are not the only pyromaniacs siblings who are out there"

But Touya spoke pointing to the triqueta in the box

"This aren't the symbol of the kumamoto division? That means there are another team of criminals In the DRB! And the leader the boyfriend of Rin Chan! "-Touya said excited (for Rintaro's shame)

“Touya, please be wary of who you use those lipsticks on,” Akihisa said. “We’re still being monitored, and poisoning someone will send you back to prison.”

“Hm? Oh, yeah I'll be careful~,” Touya giggled not at all paying attention. He was far too busy staring at the photos of Shuu with a lewd smile on his face. “Shuu-chan looks so cute~. I should share these with Kai-chan~.”

“And we fucking lost him,” Rintaro muttered. “So Kumamoto…should we worry about what they're doing? Cause it seems to they got something big fucking planned.”

“Not entirely, I've heard rumors about what they want to do but it shouldn't affect what we have planned..too much,” Akari explained. “Tho I am curious about the other things they sent.”

“These…accessories would you trust them Akari?” Akihisa questioned.

“I would have to run tests on them. Give me a while and I’ll get back to you.” Akari answered, her gold eyes alight at the challenge. “That reminds me how do you all feel about meeting her?”

“Ugh. I dont know how you deal with her. That woman makes us look sane. Which I never thought was possible.” Rintaro shivered.

“She's not that…bad Rin-nii. Her teammates seem to think I'm crazy tho.”

“Akari you marched into the territory of someone who has a body count to match us. Yeah, I can see why they think that.”

“I feel like that is calling the kettle black Rin-nii.”

“Enough. Akari, We'll meet her. For now, we continue to do what everyone expects. That Chuohku has us on a leash.” Akihisa ordered, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night, online il full trailer del film

Il secondo capitolo della saga “reboot” arriverà nei nostri cinema a novembre.

C’è voluto un po’ più del previsto per vedere il trailer esteso di “SWORD ART ONLINE PROGRESSIVE: SCHERZO OF DEEP NIGHT”, ma eccolo qua.

Il video conferma la nuova data di debutto giapponese del film d’animazione, rinviata dal 10 settembre al 22 ottobre, dati alcuni ritardi di produzione causati dal Covid-19 (Eh sì, è ancora un problema). Qua in Italia, invece, potremo vederlo al cinema il 14, 15 e 16 novembre.

La pellicola costituisce il secondo capitolo del retelling del primo storico arco narrativo di Aincrad, nel quale l’autore della popolare serie di romanzi, Reki Kawahara, va ad approfondire ed espandere l’originale avventura con protagonisti Kirito e Asuna, riscoprendola questa volta da una nuova prospettiva e senza time-skip (come invece successo nella serie tv), mostrandoci la lunga lotta per uscire dal gioco, piano per piano.

Come il precedente “SWORD ART ONLINE PROGRESSIVE: ARIA OF A STARLESS NIGHT” (che arriverà in home video dal 2 novembre), il film è una produzione A-1 PICTURES (Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, Kaguya-sama: Love is War) ed è diretto da Ayako Kohno.

Il design dei personaggi è ad opera di Kento Toya (Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld, Nanbaka) e la scene d’azione sono supervisionate da Yasuyuki Kai (già animatore chiave in Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale), mentre la colonna sonora è firmata ancora una volta da Yuki Kajiura (Fate/Zero, Demon Slayer, Puella Magi Madoka Magica), compositrice storica della saga.

La storia inizia molto tempo prima che la “Saetta” e lo “Spadaccino Nero” fossero conosciuti con questi nomi…

È infatti il 6 novembre 2022 quando viene lanciato ufficialmente il primo VRMMORPG al mondo, Sword Art Online. Ma i giocatori, ancora euforici per aver effettuato il primo accesso, si trovano improvvisamente intrappolati all’interno del gioco quando il Game Master li priva di qualsiasi modo per disconnettersi, dando loro un inquietante avvertimento: “Questo sarà pure un videogame, ma il tempo dei giochi è finito”. Se un giocatore muore nel gioco, infatti, muore nel mondo reale.

Di fronte a queste parole, i giocatori si fanno prendere dal panico e dalla disperazione. Tra loro c’è Asuna: nonostante non conosca ancora le regole di questo mondo, parte alla conquista del castello di ferro galleggiante di Aincrad, la cui vetta è troppo alta per essere vista. Mentre i giorni passano, avviene un incontro fatidico. E poi, un addio… Sebbene in balia della realtà che le appare davanti agli occhi, Asuna continua a combattere con tutte le sue forze, finché un giorno qualcuno non le appare davanti: il distaccato spadaccino, Kirito…

La light novel sulla quale si basa questa rivisitazione è stata lanciata, sempre con le illustrazioni di abec, nell’ottobre del 2012 e al momento conta otto volumi pubblicati in Giappone.
