NICK CAVE TOUR POSTER 2017 18”x24" • Screen Print . HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!! I’m a few days late on posting this. 9/22/22 was @nickcaveofficial 's birthday! In 2017, their management hit me up to design the tour poster. It was only available to the people that bought the VIP package - which also included a ticket to the show and a laminate with my work on it!!! Which I never got...grumblegrumble . This was a HUGE project for me. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE #NICKCAVE ’s music!! LOVE! So to get a chance to design a poster again for him was an honor. Even better - it was for the whole tour! In 2014 I got to design the poster for their Milwaukee, WI show! . If you scroll through - you can see the photo reference I took of my homie @a.sinners.heart posing as Nick Cave’s stunt double. He was in town when I started working on the project. . From there I sketched everything out in my sketchbook with a @prismacolor #colerase pencil. I had a small meltdown until my homie @dave_crosland talked me down from the ledge and helped me make sense of my composition. Then I lightboxed it onto an 8.5 x 11 sheet of #bristolboard and inked it with a @winsorandnewton series 7 sable brush. Then scanned it in at 600 dpi and did the coloring & color seps in photoshop! . Oh included is the alternate sketch I submitted but they felt the portrait of Cave was a better fit. NEVER THROW AWAY YOUR SKETCHES! I ended up using this for the @themurdercitydevils poster a few months later. WIN/WIN! And there's a pic of the art print I designed that was included with the 2017 tour poster drop - exclusive from my shop. . I was lucky enough to see the first date of the show with my best homie and amazing animator @crankbunny at the @kingsbklyn Such a beautiful theatre!!! Balance is hard right? As a Libra, most people automatically assume I have this balancing act in life completely figured out. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Being a Libra actually means we are always seeking to FIND the balance in life. Boundaries, or lack thereof, can be one of the many tricky things to balance. Put your walls up too high and you never let love in and wind up isolating yourself. Let anyone through the gates and you get walked all over and treated like a doormat. Where exactly is the happy medium? Hard to say. Depends on the individual and what’s deemed to be “too much” or “too little” for you. Everyone’s needs are a little unique and different. Keep in mind what your needs are and the needs of those you are close to. Wise discernment plays a part when using your intuition to understand whether someone will truly be for you or against you. It’s hard to keep the balance consistent even when we find it because life is ever changing with ebb and flow. And that’s ok. We don’t have to keep a perfect score of it. Just as long as we keep trying. Trying means we are consciously aware of how important it is. So don’t beat yourself up if you’re not perfect at maintaining that. The fic I immediately think of is The Ghost of You by @sunshineoptimismandangels. Mind the warnings, there's heavy stuff in the fic, and it will definitely put you through the wringer, but it's absolutely stellar. You'll love it!

I have a question/thought about your swiftgron masterpost! Do you have any timeline connections with the goo goo dolls, and their album Let Love In? Taylor sang Iris with them in 2011(?) and #letlovein was in diannas tumblr letter. The whole album feels very swiftgron coded lol

taylor and dianna were not close until 2012 so it’s probably just a coincidence.
