What is LGBT and LGBTQ?

These communities typically celebrate pride, diversity, individuality, and sexuality. 

LGBT members see LGBT community-building as retribution to heterosexism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, sexualism, and conformist pressures present in the current society. Not all lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender people consider themselves part of the LGBT community.

Hello everyone, I was attacked unprovoked on the Subway yesterday. I believe I was targeted because I was wearing my pride shirt work uniform I am also a bisexual woman with a very public presence on the internet and in the city as I am a performer at Ellen’s Stardust Diner in Times Square. I was beaten badly and taken to hospital by ambulance. It took two phone calls to 911 and an hour wait for police to arrive, so clearly my assailant got away. The cops also victim blamed me for the attack as if sitting quietly with your AirPods on is somehow not being vigilant enough at 3 o’clock in the afternoon on a busy subway car. But what else do we expect from the NYPD at this point. I have large bruises and giant swellings on the right side of my head, and it’s caused my vision to blur, my hearing is gone because my eardrum is filled with fluid and I am dizzy and nauseas all the time. Laying down is painful because of the contusions but sitting up is miserable too. Until my visions improves, my hearing returns and my bruises and swelling fade I don’t know when I’ll be able to return to work not even considering the fear of taking the subway now. Hi. im luno, im a nuerodivergent (autistic, adhd) and queer minor who is part of an also nuerodivergent 6 person family (5 children, one parent). i am homeless, i have been homeless for about a month now, and my family has almost no money. we have been using it to secure a place for our belongings (a small storage unit), our phone bills, and hotels to be at least a little comfortable. we became homeless under a terrible circumstance that i don't feel comfortable saying the exact details of, but someone really dicked us over. i really need people to spread this and pitch in via money, we have been trying to get resources and things to help but we live in LA, and so there are no resources to accommodate families of our size.

I need a wheelchair

I'm raising money to get a wheelchair, some gloves, and other accessories, as well as some things that I'll need for my top surgery such as button-down short sleeve shirts, and to cover any bills that may arise while I am unable to work during my recovery time.

Help me afford top surgery

Hi y'all, for those who don't know me, I'm a disbled, neurodivergent, trans man living in Cape Town, South Africa. I'm also a gradstudent in Astronomy currently finishing up my MSc, an artist and a poet.

In South Africa we don't really have many options to pursue transition, our private medical aids and insurance don't cover any of it, not even hospital costs as they classify gender affirming care as a cosmetic process instead of the life saving medical care we all know it is. Going through the public health sector is also not really an option as the waitlist is over 26 years long due to our national government again sees gender affirming care as purely cosmetic and only gives one spot for any gender affirming surgery per year.

In South Africa there's also still alot of stigma around being trans and trans people face violence and discrimination on a daily basis, so in addition to the usual benefits of getting top surgery, it will also greatly improve my safety

This is however very expensive, being a student I am on a very tight budget, living paycheck to paycheck already, trying to save up for a procedure that vosts nearly my entire yearly income is next to impossible, I also can't turn to my family in this instance as they are extremely transphobic

So the only option I have left is to try and crowdfund it. As I am South African I unfortunately can't use go fund me, so I'm using the south african croudfunding service, backabuddy, it does accept paypall and I-Pay

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated
