From the bathysphere, Percy emerged and into the station of Fort Frolic. It should’ve been easy to get to the station that would’ve brought him to Hephaestus. Theo and M.J. were supposed to meet him.

But no one was there. Half convinced he was abandoned (that or something far worse happened), he moved forward towards the next bathysphere, the Rose’s voice still crackling through his radio.

“Parker, have you seen Watson or that Theo kid? I lost contact with them as soon as they—“

Her voice is interrupted, fading away as the station is swallowed in darkness and the empty bathysphere to Hephaestus sinks into the waters before Percy could even think of reaching it.

Ethereal purple lights flock on and masquerade masks hanging above become apparent in its glow. Stage curtains are shrouded over the station walls. Strange figures of dancers frozen in place emerged, some suspended from the ceiling on strings and others rising from the waters that lined the station. From the intercoms, a somber yet beautiful piano piece played as a new voice comes forth from Percy’s radio. A voice that Percy could only guess at who it was, from M.J.’s accounts..

“Ah, that’s better,” the voice began, “Rose, Osborn, Rose, Osborn.. It is about time that you could get something decent on the radio.. The artist has a duty to seduce the ear and delight the spirit. So say goodbye to the blowhards you knew and hello to an evening with Quinten Beck.”

Percy grimaced at the thought of dealing with more madmen of Rapture.. but whether he wanted to or not, he had little choice but to confront Beck. If for no other reason than to find a way to move forward.

With or without Theo or M.J..

Spider-powered M.J. x reader

Most people liked to meditate to relive stress. M.J. liked to kick bad guys' asses. As she swung through the city, she knew that Y/n was going to have her behind if she missed movie night Saturday. It was the one night in the week that the young couple didn't go on patrol and instead watched movies until midnight, followed with cuddles, obvi.

M.J. arrived at her desired place, Stark Tower, and placed her hand on the window to have J.A.R.V.I.S. scan it.

"Michelle Jones-Watson, aka, Arachne. Welcome to the 69th floor of Stark Tower", welcomed the A.I.

M.J. opened the window and crawled into Y/n's bedroom that was on the floor that the Winter Soldier and his daughter lived on. Speaking of daughters, Y/n was sitting on her bed, reading a book M.J. let her borrow.

"Sup loser?", said M.J., closing the window.

"Hiya dollface", Y/n answered with a smile. "Your clothes are in the bathroom, waiting."

"Thanks love", M.J. thanked with a kiss on top of Y/n's head and walked into the bathroom.

"How was patrol?", asked Y/n.

"Boring without you. There was a lack of quips and a second generation assassin", M.J. replied, resting her head in Y/n's lap with pjs on.

"Well thanks to HYDRA's form of super soldier serum, I'll be back on missions and on patrol in a week", Y/n reassured.

"Good. How's your father dealing with your broken ankle?", asked M.J.

"Protective. He wouldn't let me walk up the stairs and carried me up instead", Y/n answered, raising her eyebrow.

"Hey, he's your dad. Even though you spent most of your life in HYDRA and can hold your own, he is going to be protective of ya", M.J. said.

"Yes, your girlfriend is right. Listen to her", Bucky said, peering by the doorway.

"Hi, Mister Barnes", M.J. said, sitting up straight.

"How much did you hear?", Y/n asked.

"The end", Bucky answered. "I was just checking in and saying good night. M.J., do you have any wounds hidden?"

"No sir. I'm way too smart to hide them", M.J. answered.

"Peter's smart and HE hides them", Y/n pointed out.

"He's an idiot", Bucky said.

"He's a kid, dad. You can't hate him forever", Y/n reasoned.

"Sam does", Bucky pointed out.

"Birds eat spiders, he's claiming his prey", Y/n said.

"Huh. Didn't think of it like that", Bucky said. "Good night daughter."

"Good night father", Y/n said with a salute.

"Good night Mister Barnes", M.J. said.

"Good night M.J. Sleep tight and don't stay up too late." Bucky closed the door and M.J. slid next to Y/n.

"So, it's your turn for the movie. Whatcha got, hun?", asked M.J.

"I was thinking Lion King", Y/n answered, putting it on.

"The animated ones, right?", M.J. asked.

"Of course. There is no emotion that the original has and the male lions look terrible."

M.J. rested her head on Y/n's chest and pulled the blanket to their legs.

Y/n reached into her snack drawer and pulled out Skittles for the two to share.

"Taste the rainbow, doll?", Y/n offered.

"Haha, very funny. But good pun", M.J. said, accepting the offer.

"I know, my dad says it all the time."

The TV showed a sun rising and the famous opening song played as the 2 semi-heroes enjoyed a lovely movie night Saturday.

Synopsis: Before they were Peter and Bashful they were strangers with an annoying (semi-traumatic) meet cute.

Pairing: Frat!Peter x Fem!Reader/OC

Pulling out of ESU parking structure six was a hell fest. There was a constant flow of traffic that seemingly never let up, and a ton of pedestrians that would either wait for all the cars to pull out before crossing the path, or simply used the heavy traffic flow to their advantage. (Y/N) pushed her head back into her seat frustrated, why was New York traffic such a nightmare. The highway traffic started to let up and she sat straight up breathing a sigh of relief.

“Fucking finally.”

She looked right and then left before letting off her gas, letting her car roll. Out of nowhere a skateboarder rolled in front of her, causing her to barely tap him with her car. But still she felt terrible. She slammed on her breaks, her hands flying up to her mouth. The boy slammed his hands on the hood of her car, throwing his hands up. He was quite obviously laughing at the situation, and did not seem injured at all. Placing her car in park and throwing her flashers on she basically threw herself out of the vehicle, the skateboarder had already started walking away tossing a look over his shoulder. (Y/N), however, was frozen in place.

“I am so sorry, are you okay? Do you need a ride?” She yelled after him, looking over her shoulder to make sure no other cars were leaving behind her.

“I’m good! Just wanted to play it up a little bit.”

He laughs, turning, his skateboard in hand. “We should both watch where we are going next time.” He yelled back smiling. “You’re too pretty to be hitting boys with your car.”

(Y/N) shook her head, swallowing the tears that had built up in her eyes. How could he just be joking about this. Then she saw the shirt: yellow with a red Theta Tau logo on it with ‘ESU est. 1930.’ stitched below it. Frat boys. Suddenly she felt less bad for tapping the bleached blonde with her car.

“But I skate through here the same time everyday, maybe don’t hit me next time okay?”

“How about I make sure I don’t miss next time?” She yells back getting into her car, now annoyed that he found the whole interaction funny when she was trying to be sincere. The blonde smiled in response, she watched him turn and skate away. She checked both ways multiple times and pulled onto the road heading to pick her friend up from work.

Fraternity row was lit up in all different colors, the first football game of the season had just ended and the whole street was celebrating the victory. M.J. wrapped her arm around (Y/N) as they walked down the street.

“Come on you seriously can’t still be hung up on the douchebag that skated out in front of you. He was in the wrong not you, he was jaywalking..jay..skating? Doesn’t matter.” The red head shook her head, her curls shaking. “He’s a dick for that and I’ll tell him if we ever see him. Now please relax and party. Please, it's the first big frat crawl of the semester.”

“Fine..yeah, you’re right.”

“I know I am.” M.J. kissed her friend's head, and started to say something else before being cut off.

“Hey! Watson! Hey!”

M.J. and (Y/N) turned their heads quickly trying to spot the voice that came blaring towards them. A head of blonde hair was in front of them in seconds. A lanky guy stood before them engulfing M.J. in a hug which she gladly returned. “Oh my god. Osborn you scared me, hey this is my roommate and friend (Y/N). (Y/N), this is Harry the guy I was telling you about.”

Harry Osborn was a name you were all too familiar with. M.J. had been in love with him since summer orientation when they met and got stuck in the elevator together. They’d been talking ever since.

“Hey nice to finally meet you.”

“Yeah you too.” Harry smiles at her. “Hey, why don’t you guys come into Theta and party?” He offered up, pointing in the direction of the bright yellow door contrasting against the white siding of the huge house.

“Look at that line, no thanks.” (Y/N) laughed.

“No no it’s my frat, well I’m a pledge but I can get y’all in come on.”

(Y/N) stood against the back wall of the party, a black plastic cup in hand as she sipped the vodka sprite mixture out of it. If she could fold in on herself she would, she didn’t even like frat crawls. She only went because M.J. begged her, and she didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to hang out with her. However, M.J. was nowhere in sight. Osborn had stolen her away as soon as they got into the house.

“Well..look who it is.” A voice pooked around the corner at her, she jumped slightly. “Oh come on don’t be bashful. You already hit me with your car.”

It was the blonde guy from yesterday, he leaned against the wall next to her. Smiling at her slightly. “I said I was sorry, you walked out in front of me.”

“I did yeah sorry. But it’s really rude of you.” (Y/N) stomped her foot wanting to crawl in a hole and cry. “I didn’t mean too hi-”

“No not that. I mean not asking for my name..it was the least you could do after all.”

Her brows furrowed, mouth forming a smile ‘o’. Her eyes feel to the ground and she bit the inside of her cheek.

“Peter Parker..and you?”

“(Y/N) (Y/L).”

Peter smiled and slid down the wall sitting on the floor, waiting for her to join him.

“Nice to meet you (Y/N)…again.”

Wrote this very quickly this morning because the lab is empty and have no one coming in until later.

Reactions As I Read: ● starting off with JJJ shouting. Good to see he's recovered from his misadventures last issue ● Flash is a simp for Spider-Man and I'm here for it ● (pg 4) Peter changing into civvies and hoping not to get caught. Professor Warren walks into the gym in time to see Parker climbing the rope

● Professor Warren invites Peter and a guest to a science expo. Pete invites Gwen. ● (Pete is finally becoming much kinder than he used to be. Was that Steve Ditko's misanthropy coming through? Was he a misanthrope?) ● Harry annoyed by Pete's comings and goings ● oh boy, Pete and Flash butting heads again ● (pg 6) there's a missile "nullifier" at the expo ● Peter Tingles are happening and Gwen notices the change in her date's demeanor ● that machine is quite… magenta ● (pg 7) Doc Ock has entered the chat ● (pg 8) those tentacles spinning at speed would be terrifying and deadly ● Spidey's here! ● I want cloaks to make a comeback

● (pg 12) "If I drop it--dozens will be crushed!" - the nullifier ain't that big, though… ● Spidey plants a tracer on Doc Ock then goes after the nullifier before it can fall on someone ● (pg 15) Doctor Octopus makes it back to his lab, still blinded by web fluid. The web fluid dissolves and he notices the tracer. ● Spider-Man changes back to Peter at the expo and rejoins Warren and Gwen ● Gwen is delighted to see him, which is a nice change. Last time they were somewhere where danger happened and Peter disappeared, she called him an unmitigated coward for running away. …Or was that Liz Allen? I can't remember for sure now. ● The Coffee Bean is a new hangout, and I gotta share this sign!

● Flash, Harry, and M.J. are here. I'm beginning to love this little friend group and it makes me sad to think about what is in some of their futures. ● omg Aunt May and Mrs. Watson are here, too! They tell Peter that they just placed an ad for a boarder for Anna Watson's extra room. ● (M.J.'s black, purple, and orange top is super cute!) ● Peter uses the excuse of walking the older women out to slip the group and get back to his Doctor Octopus debacle ● In Doc Ock's lair, he created a replica of himself in front of the control panel. I'm guessing he's going to lie in wait for Spider-Man to arrive. ● (pg 18) Spidey Sense warns him of a trap ● (pg 19) ka-BLOOM! ● See? Cloaks are cool. They add an aire of mystery. ● Preview of next issue: Doc Ock answering Aunt May and Mrs. Watson's ad for a boarder ● 👏👏👏

Synopsis: Spider-Man reads the latest front page story of the Daily Bugle while hanging out front of the building. He's not surprised to see that Jameson has painted himself the hero and Spider-Man a menace following the death of Frederick Foswell at the hands of the Kingpin. Noticing Spider-Man is hanging outside his office window, Jameson shouts at the hero for distracting his employees. The wall-crawler responds by mocking Jonah's newspaper and tossing his copy into the irate publisher's face. Realizing that he is running late for classes, Spider-Man rushes to Empire State University. His arrival is spotted by Gwen Stacy and Flash Thompson, the latter is excited to see his long time hero. They are soon joined by Harry Osborn, who asks them if they have seen Peter Parker recently, as he is fed up of his roommate is never around to take his messages. As Harry grumbles about being Peter's personal secretary, Spider-Man slips into the empty gymnasium to change back into his civilian identity. He is almost caught in the act by Professor Miles Warren. To cover up his presence in the gym, Peter quickly scales up one of the ropes while he tucks the rest of his costume away under his clothing. Climbing down to meet Warren, he learns that his professor wishes to invite Peter and a friend to check out the latest science exposition. Peter accepts the offer and tells Miles that he will gladly go.

Outside of the gym, Peter runs into Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn. Harry snubs Peter and Gwen explains that Harry is upset with Peter's constant comings and goings. When Peter asks if Gwen wants to go to the science expo, she happily accepts. After class, the pair go to meet with Professor Warren, when they bump into Harry and Flash. Flash takes issue with a "civilian" like Peter Parker taking Gwen out for the evening, and this leads to a heated exchange between the two before Gwen breaks it up. Soon, they are on their way with Professor Warren to the exposition. On the way, they talk about the military's new missile "nullifier" device which will be on display. When they arrive, they discover that security is tight in order to prevent the nullifier from getting into the wrong hands. Peter soon becomes distracted when his spider-sense begins going off, warning him that there is danger present, but he can't figure out where it is coming from.

Later during the demonstration of the nullifier's powers, Peter discovers the danger when Doctor Octopus reveals himself as being one of the spectators in the crowd. Making his presence known, Doc Ock then fights his way through security to get possession of the nullifier. As people flee in panic, Peter manages to slip away so he can change into Spider-Man. Meanwhile, the military police on site try to incapacitate Doctor Octopus with tear gas, but the villain begins whipping his mechanical arms around with enough force to blow the gas back in the faces of the soldiers. That's when Spider-Man arrives on the scene to try and stop Octopus. The villain then attempts to flee out the side of the building, but Spider-Man follows suit. On the roof, Spider-Man sprays webbing onto Doc's goggles, temporarily blinding him. In order to stop Spider-Man, Octavius threatens to drop the nullifier onto the crowd below. Realizing he will have to let his enemy go, Spider-Man tags Otto with a Spider-Tracer before leaping down to stop the falling nullifier from landing on anyone. As expected, Doctor Octopus makes his getaway.

As the villain flees, he recounts his last battle with Spider-Man where they both found themselves trapped in an undersea hideout that was rapidly flooding with water. With Spider-Man pinned under tons of rubble, Doctor Octopus managed to escape by using his mechanical arms to keep him above water until he was able to procure diving gear and swim the rest of the way to freedom without drowning. Back at his new hideout, Otto discovers the Spider-Tracer and decides to set a suitable trap for his foe. Back at the exposition, Peter has changed out of his costume and rejoins Gwen and Professor Warren. He tells them that he was trying to find a camera to take photos of the situation for the Daily Bugle and is surprised when Gwen hugs him upon seeing that he is okay. Later, Professor Warren drops Peter and Gwen at the Coffee Bean to meet with the others. As Gwen exchanges pleasantries with Flash, and Mary Jane, Peter wonders why Harry is scowling at him. Before he can find out, Aunt May and Anna Watson arrive to tell Peter that they will be renting out a room so they can make extra money. Peter thinks it is a great idea, but warns his aunt to be careful about who she rents it out to. Peter decides to use this as an opportunity to track down Oct Ock, and tells his friends that he is going to walk his Aunt and Anna back home.

By this time, Doctor Octopus has rigged up a dummy of himself to lure Spider-Man into a trap. Sure enough, when the web-slinger tracks his Spider-Tracer to the Doctor's hideout he is lured right to the location of the trap. However, Spidey's spider-sense warns him of trouble, and suspecting a trap, he tosses a web ball at the dummy of Doctor Octopus, setting off the explosives that it was rigged with. Watching the building explode from his hideout, Doctor Octopus assumes that Spider-Man has been destroyed. Needing to lay low, Doctor Octopus fades into the night to search for a place of lodging, unaware that Spider-Man is still alive. Meanwhile, the wall-crawler vows to track down Doctor Octopus no matter what, unaware that his foe is just now meeting with his Aunt May in order to rent out the room that she put out an advertisement for.

I love this version of the Three Garridebs moment, from the "On the Case With Holmes and Watson” comic series written by Murray Shaw and M.J. Cosson, illustrated by Sophie Rohrbach and JT Morrow.

Watson looks so stoic in the first panel, and Holmes is peeved, while the villain looks like he’s about to take a nap (except for the ropes).

… So I found out what happened to Dr. Connors.

Dear god..

If I had to describe it.. that wasn’t a man that I saw. Or at least, not anymore. Now, I’m not familiar with marine biology, but since the guy did study starfish extensively, I can make a safe guess that he happened to take a lot of .. lets call it inspiration from them.

And by that, mean his form is this.. huge, pulsating tumor-riddled pile of flesh, with 14 arms in total. It’s huge.. I don’t where his face is when looking at it. But, from his writings, I’ve learned that apparently starfish have eyes on their arms. And these tiny, numerous tube-like protrusions underneath the arms.

But I can hear him groaning in pain as he takes up the room he resides in, his lab, more specifically. Though he moves slowly and in a cumbersome manner, he seems to be able to still use his plasmids and is more resilient to regular gunfire attacks.. which makes fighting him difficult. Not to mention, he seems to be eager to devour us if we get too close.

We already saw a splicer get eaten by him. … I-I won’t go into too many gory details but, I believe that just like most starfish, he can.. erm.. evert his stomach to engulf whatever he manages to catch and then brings it back into himself. It was.. disgusting.

Right now, we are trying to think of a way to kill him in an effective way. He’s currently what stands between us and trying to regroup with M.J…

… I have an idea. But it’s a matter of trying to get the right bait for this to hopefully work.
