Welcome to Fluffy February 2023! Back for a third year, we want to spread fluff and good feelings throughout all of February.

This year, we’re reverting to the one-prompt-a-day format from 2021. As in previous years, no one is obliged to write/draw/create every single day -- do as many as you want! The official guidelines are posted here.

Above the cut are the one-word prompts. Below the cut, I’ve included some phrases and suggestions in case the one-word prompt isn’t stirring something creatively. So I'm working on a couple kinda cringe fics, but other than that, I've got NOTHING

not even joking, it's true

Therefore, I am humbly requesting... REQUESTS!

PLEASE!! I WILL WRITE OC X CANON, OC X OC, AND POSSIBLY CANON X CANON!!! (As long as the ship isn't too weird)

AND... SMUT requests can also be taken

Aaron and Criminal Minds March/Spring Prompt List

Good evening loves! We made it to February! It’s hard to believe we are one month into 2024! I love the idea of the team during Spring time and I thought I'd make some March/Spring prompts because it makes me happy. This prompt list is inspired by the always amazing, @imagining-in-the-margins who always make the best prompt lists. I'm currently writing for her New Beginnings Challenge (linked) and having a blast). For my prompts, I won’t write for all these prompts, but I will for at least a few. The rules for using these prompts are that there are no rules! You could use any Criminal Minds characters, OCs, reader inserts, etc. You could draw, write, make mood boards, or imagine anything else. I have included 31 prompts for each day of the month. I also get inspiration from plain old words, so I’ve included 10 Spring words that might inspire something. Lastly, I’ve included a few dialog and art prompts too. You can find that all below the cut. If any of these prompts inspire you to create, I’d love to be tagged to see what you have made. This is all just for fun. General Prompts

Character A buys Character B their favorite flowers once they are in season.

Character A plans a fun day out at the park with their kid and they run into Character B unexpectedly.

The team gets called to a case on the beach in Florida.

Character A had experienced something bad this time last year and Character B checks in on them.

Character A buys a new swimsuit to feel confident in their own skin.

Spring Break with the BAU (young AU or present-day or anything else.)

Character A becomes addicted to a seasonal drink at a coffee shop and begs the barista to teach them how to make it.

Character A buys pastel lingerie for Character B.

A night of celebration after the case reveals feelings that have been hidden for over a year.

The newest member of the BAU has their birthday on their first case ever. The team still tries to make it something for them anyway.

A Character manages to catch a cold in the middle of Spring.

On an incredibly hot case, Character A collapses from heat exhaustion.

Characters A and B bump into each other at a music festival.

The team goes to the beach together and Character A and B awkwardly put sunscreen on each other.

Characters A develops an allergy to a favorite food and tries to find alternatives.

The BAU faces a lockdown in Quantico as an active threat is in the building.

Character A confesses their love to someone and gets turned down. Character B makes sure Character A is holding up okay after the rejection.

Character A gets drugged and Character B gets them to the hospital.

Character A has a bad dream and calls Character B; they talk till morning.

Breakfast in bed.

Characters A and B go on a date to a bookstore/record store and things get more frisky than expected.

Characters A and B try role play in bed for the first time.

Characters A and B take a road trip.

There is a malfunction on the jet and it makes an emergency landing. The team is stuck in the airport for a few hours.

Characters A and B get matching tattoos.

Characters A and B get a little too competitive about March Madness / Sports.

Characters A and B talk about possible baby names.

BAU case on a ranch in the West (Yeehaw).

It's Characters A and B's last night before their wedding.

A tragedy strikes the team at the worst time. The must bond to move on.

TLDR: I’m from old-fandom, decades ago when bullying was not acceptable. Please respect your fellow fandom freaks. Because you're one too.

TMNT fandom used to be an incredibly accepting place. We were all horrible little freaks with a weird and socially-unacceptable habit of day dreaming and writing and drawing and, honestly, obsessing about hidden turtle men in the sewers.

Social pressure from real life kept us humble and grateful for the existence of others like us online. Because outside of fandom, the world was full of people who had normal hobbies, like sports or crafting or gardening or volunteering for soup kitchens. Those normal people could talk about their interests in public! Mention their safe pursuits in mixed company! Claim their talents and their results in the social circles at school or at work or at church!

Make-believe man-turtle enthusiasts had nowhere in our real lives where it was okay to admit the depth of our interests without being bullied or shunned or branded as a complete freak. Whether you were a kid or an adult!

And I have said nothing about shipping or smut or specific versions of our mutants.

If you wrote/drew/enjoyed the tamest, sweetest, most pure turtle content, you were still an IRL freak!

That's why, when us fans found each other online, space was made for all of us. Our only requirement: love the turtles.

I get that newer fans don't have those extreme social pressures. Times have changed. 'Fandom' is not mainstream, but it's understood to exist for thousands of TV shows and movies and games. Now, the internet is everywhere and it's easier than ever to find people who agree with you. Heck, there's every expectation that there are people who agree with you; you don’t have to wonder if you’re alone.

Loving the TMNT is not an isolating experience anymore.

That's great.

But it also means that current fandom takes its fans for granted. Fans that write the wrong kinds of fiction are bullied. Fans who draw the wrong arrangement of characters are shunned. Fans who enjoy more than one type of story are disposable, worthless, and unwelcome to speak or share with the larger group.

Fandom is meant to be a refuge for all us freaks.

How did the real world become kinder while fandom got meaner? How does that make sense? Why are the people who have the most in common doing the most damage to each other?

Of course, rate your content, tag your content, respect requests not to discuss certain topics/ships in specific settings or with specific people. Yes, yes, yes. Consideration and respect for each other's boundaries is fundamental in fandom and is how we have been able to co-exist for so long!

But respect and consideration are built on treating each other--all of each other--as if we all have value and worth and dignity.

Every member of fandom is a real person with feelings.

Every member of fandom likes a variety of content.

Every member of fandom deserves to have a safe space where they are not insulted or tormented or excluded for their thoughts or creations.

Please, live and let live. Co-exist. Respect your fellow freak, you fandom weirdo.

Fluffy February 2023: Guidelines

Hello everyone! It’s back again! We are reverting to the 28 prompts for the 28 days of February this year, so the guidelines (which are highly flexible) get their own post this year.

Guidelines:

Feel free to add your own spin on any of the prompts. They are the seed, let it grow into whatever beautiful fluffy work you wish.

Do the prompts you want. Forget the rest. Participants can submit to all or just one of the prompts.

Multiple submissions for the same day’s prompt are gladly accepted and vigorously applauded.

All fandoms are welcome.

Platonic fic is accepted and encouraged. Fluff is for everyone.

Keep it fluffy. Keep it reasonably clean. Fluff can be a broad category. But this challenge is not for angst, horror, hurt without comfort, etc. Also minors are participating so submissions with smut and gore will not be reblogged. This is not a judgment. Just a guideline for this challenge. Write whatever your heart desires outside of the challenge.

Art and podfic are also accepted for submissions.

OCs are always welcome and encouraged.

Tag your submissions with @fluffyfebruary so the admins can find and reblog posts onto this blog.

Feel free to cross post fic to AO3. An AO3 collection will be created for those that would like to submit to that as well.

General Prompts

Rival April Fool'sprank war with Characters A and B where members of the team get roped into the pranks.

Characters A and B run into each other at a concert.

The cooling/AC goes out at Character A's apartment so they have to strip down to the basics while Character B fixes the problem.

Character A gets a text from a wrong number from Character B but they suddenly want to talk more.

Character A hates sharks and Character B agrees to watch Jaws with them for the first time.

Character A meets Character B on a cruise vacation.

The BAU men have a Bachelor Party for Character A.

The BAU women have a Bachelor Party for Character A.

Character A agrees to meet with their long-distance partner, Character B, for the first time.

Character A goes a bit overboard for the baby shower for Character B.

On a case at a sleepaway camp the team all have to bunk together in a cabin.

Characters A and B go camping together for the first time.

Character A reminds Character B that all bodies are swimsuit/bikini bodies.

Character A says they'd do anything for a popsicle, so Character B gets them one.

Character A gets back into an old sport and the BAU team shows up for their first game to cheer them on.

A big test has Character A stressed out more than normal and Character B comes and helps them study and feel more relaxed.

Chacters A and B chaperone the Sadie Hawkins dance together.

Character A quits coffee for a month and suffers which makes Character B want to be there for them more than usual.

Character A takes Character B to a place that is very important to them and explains why.

On a hike Character A becomes exhausted and Character B carries them the rest of the way back to the car.

Character A hears that Character B's child is being bullied, so they make sure to go and give the child some love and advice.

Characters A and B go to the roller rink together.

A case that takes place in a theme park!

A case that has a killer inspired by slasher films of the 70s/80s.

Character A asked Character B to be a model for their next drawing/painting/work of art.

Character A gets their identity stolen and Character B helps them out with getting it sorted.

Character A makes an OF account and Character B stumbles across it.

Characters A and B go skinny dipping for the first time together.

Character A gets a new tattoo/piercing and shows Character B. Character B is obsessed with it.

Character A falls in love with Character B; they have completely different fashion styles.
