All Night Libraries
Could be so cool to have all night sensory friendly libraries, with nice warm soft lighting, and cute comfy whimsical furniture, art and plants. Where people could just go and read all night, hang with friends and even sleep there in the available rest spaces like hammocks or a little capsule hotel in the library. Very lunarpunk. Would call mine the Moonlight Library

Oath of commitment
By her grace, I promise to be what a human is meant to be. To be a conscious part of the cycle of life.
To use my powers and knowledge for the good of all species. I promise to be a student of life and hone my talents to best serve nature, humanity and all descendants. I promise to be free and allow others to be free. I promise to safeguard and care for the vulnerable and myself.
I must always remember, the human thing is to help and it is my duty to lessen suffering in the world. I will uphold this promise of love and alliance we make to each other every day. The promise we live by. The promise we live for. Together. Thank you

Brennan gets lower/working class anger on such a visceral level and Sean Finnerty was a perfect example of that.
I mean he brings a sort of working-class-anger to a lot of dimension 20 (shoutout to the halfling family in fantasy high I don’t feel like looking up your names but you were so real), but Sean had the working-class-deep-seated-rage thing that I as a poor person really fucking loved.

‘What if desmond time travels and has to deal with such and such, or turns into an animal, or gets hurt, or-’
What if Desmond time travels and learns how to bake bread!! Huh!!? What about that!! What if he opens a super successful bakery, and solves all the worlds problems with the best fresh baked bread every!!
(This is /j but like. 👏🏻 anons let Desmond have peace challenge👏🏻 (but also don’t cause I love reading all of them I’m just like ‘how did you even come up with this? Sometimes lmao))
Anyway, since we already have a Desmond is a baker in Renaissance Italy idea, here’s Desmond is a baker during the Third Crusades instead:
So in this setup, Desmond would say fuck it and just open a bakery in Acre.
Jerusalem was too much of a hotspot at the moment and Acre had ports which meant there would be new customers that Desmond could lure in with the smell of freshly baked bread.
And it worked.
Maybe a bit too well because…
Kadar visited while he was out looking for information for his brother’s current target.
They both stared at one another for a moment and then Desmond just did his usual ‘Welcome! Are you looking for anything specific or would you like to hear today’s recommendations?’ spiel while Kadar just stares at him.
When Kadar went “Altaïr?”, Desmond just gave him his best bartender ‘I’m being respectful but also distant so you’ll still tip me’ smile as he goes, “I’m sorry, we don’t have a bread called ‘Altaïr’.”
Then he showed Kadar the star-shaped pull apart sweet bread he’s just perfected and go “But maybe I can interest you in this pull apart start bread? It’s sweet and fluffy and freshly baked.”
And sweet poor Kadar leaves the bakery with a basket of breads instead because Desmond was good at using both Ezio’s charms and his bartending social skills to get customers to buy more than they should.
Hey.
A man needed to profit to keep the roof over his head while trying to experiment for the upcoming debut of his sugar-free pastries.
The next day, Malik entered the bakery but Desmond was ready.
Desmond had planned for this!
“Welcome!” Desmond greeted, giving Malik his sweetest smile that he knew would completely unnerve Malik.
Desmond weaponized the similarity between him and Altaïr to unnerve Malik to the point that he cannot focus on observing Desmond, distracted by such a sweet smile that looked so disturbing in his eyes because he’s imagining Altaïr doing such an expression and it was horror beyond Malik’s wildest imagination.
Okay.
Desmond was exaggerating but that got Malik to not ask too many invasive questions and leave the bakery after purchasing two baskets worth of bread so Desmond was going to consider that a mission successful.
And then…
His greatest adversary entered his little quaint bakery.
And Desmond was ready for him.
“Welcome!” Desmond greeted happily, “Are you looking for anything specific or would you like to see today’s recommendations?”
Altaïr simply stared at him.
But that didn’t matter.
Desmond held all the cards.
Because he knew one of Altaïr’s greatest weakness…
Altaïr secretly loved sweets.
“Today’s a special day!” Desmond clapped his hands in practiced joy that wasn’t over the top, “Today’s the debut of our dessert line! Here.”
Desmond took out a tray of sweet deserts, glistening in either honey or fruit jams.
“Would you like a taste?” Desmond asked with the sweetness of the snake that tempted Eve to take a bite.
And Altaïr…
Altaïr left the bakery with a basket filled with desserts and pastries, quietly sinking into the shadows before anyone could see him and ask for one of the forbidden sweets he had acquired.

Happy Portuguese Freedom Day! 🌸 Today Portugal remembers the nonviolent rebellion that ended a 50-year long dictatorship; reestablished democracy in the country and led the path to decolonisation and independence for Angola, Cape Verde, São Tomé e Príncipe, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau.

I like that there are two dudes having a moment in the background during the signing of the treaty of Amiens.
(Also, it’s not clear if the dude in the front left is Joseph or Napoleon)

I’d image that Girl Dad! Megatron (mostly MTMTE/IDW) would do some ‘baby proofing’ after his daughter is born, not only the form of hiding sharp objects and putting extra alarms on doors, but also in cleaning up the Decepticon ranks, the first to go being the Phase Sixers or at the minimum Overlord 😳
The ultimate sparkling/hybrid child proofing mechanism and parent-child bonding: his personal sparkling hold.
Frames that deal with immense and wild environmental changes, like miners, submarines, and shuttles, have something like an internal kangaroo pouch.
The structure is located deep within their frames, near if not settled next to their spark chambers. Within the dark hold that mimics similar conditions to a gestational chamber, it's cozily warm, well-protected, and well-fed behind tons of thick plating and nozzles connected to the mecha's fuel systems. There are specialized mechanics that refine the fuel directly from the main tank and their circulation to pull out vital nutrients and initial firewalls to create a dense, creamy sparkling fuel.
Adults unused to having a newspark within them will eventually figure out how to keep their hold still as the bitty bounces and rolls inside them. (Imagine the leader of the Decepticons at the meeting, and his subordinates are hanging onto his subtle changes, thinking the results are not up to adequacy. Meanwhile, his daughter has decided to smush herself to the side that's closest to his spark. I'm here! Yes, he knows.)
Fresh newsparks typically stay inside those holds until they reach the phase where they can toddle on their own as their plating has settled into a more appropriate density and hardness, the milky film has worn off, and they gained a significant amount of weight.
IDW Megatron doesn't strike as a mech that would get rid of the Phase Sixers or other dangerous elements. The violent and brutal kratocracy that became the Decepticon movement is a testament to the cruelties implemented by Functionist-held Cybertron as well as a twisted mockery and reflection of his own self and journey and spiral from "Decepticons to uplift the masses" to "Megatron's Decepticons."
If anything, he would keep the kid under wraps where only a handful of mechs ever known their existence, especially if he sired a techno-organic child.

Hard pill to swallow for the SHEIN Girlies
One of the hardest pills to swallow for regular people in regards to saving the planet seems to be that they just DO NOT want to go without any of the luxuries they have gotten used to
To those I will say: You cannot deny any longer that overconsumption is a major problem and cause of so much environmental pollution and destruction.
People always say 'oh but I'm just one person'. Yeah everyone is just one person until everyone thinks that way. People use it both to absolve themselves of any wrongdoing and to defend their apathy. It is the main logical fallacy that gets in the way of progress.
And again no, this is NOT aimed at anyone disadvantaged, in poverty or otherwise struggling, this is aimed at my fellow middle and upper class white people. Whom could so easily do the right thing but don't
We have to scale down and focus on Degrowth. I'm saying it politely now; start living more modestly now, while you still can, cause if you don't, then nature, climate breakdown and the collapse of society will force you to

A regime does not have rights. People do. If your village relies on oppression and discrimination, then it should be reformed from its roots and refounded. If your village needs to be watered with innocent blood to be able to flourish, it should be burned down to ashes and rebuilt from scratch.
A political system that is not ensuring safety and freedom for all its citizens is not fit for purpose. A system feeding from cruelty and war has no right to exist.

I used to think they were exaggerating when they said it could’ve been anyone but they aren’t. My 17th birthday is in 19 days. My mom keeps saying how whenever I’m in pain I call for her and to think how much Nika must’ve called for her mom as she was brutally beaten and murdered.
Tumblr media
This is Nika Shakarami from Tehran, Iran. She should’ve been 17 today.
Just days before her birthday she went protesting with thousands of others in the streets of Tehran but didn’t return to her family that night. She was taken by government forces. After 10 days of being missing (that is 10 days that a mother didn’t know of the whereabouts of her teenage daughter, 10 days that a father didn’t know if his baby girl was alive), her dead body was found. Her nose was smashed and her skull was completely destroyed. She was identified by a birthmark and her family wasn’t allowed to see her face at first.
Tumblr media
The government is claiming she “fell from great height” but if that was true why wouldn’t the government hand over her phone? Why would all her social media present (on Instagram, Whatsapp, Telegram) been removed as if she never had any?
I’ve heard her family is being forced to lie about her situation on national TV. Her family wasn’t allowed to hold a burial ceremony but even not doing that wasn’t enough as her body was stolen by the government and buried 40km away from where she was meant to be buried.

Please share this post. Share her story. Don’t let her be one of the many whose story was never told. Don’t let her be forgotten. Help this post reach a bigger audience.

i hate the way the game pushes you to romance north despite her and markus having no romantic chemistry whatsoever, and i absolutely despise the "act natural" scene in capitol park where acting natural according to david cage is non-consensually kissing a woman?? it's so icky, they did my boy markus so wrong in that one.
as much as i don't agree with the majority of north's opinions and i think she's severely underdeveloped as a character who deserved to be more multidimensional, i also don't want to be an asshole to her. i'm ready to do that though if being considerate and empathetic ends in her and markus having a random fling in the middle of an android uprising

I'm having sad thoughts about Jacques again. About how he only seems like someone who has things figured out and is put together because we are seing him by very biased lens.
We are seing him by Lemony's eyes. The eyes of a man who idolized his older brother, who wanted to be like him. The eyes of someone who tends to either be extremely judgy or see everyone as better than himself and idealize them (often both at the same time).
We are in a different level seing him by the eyes of the Baudelraies. But they know little of Jacques and what they know is mostly that this is a man their parents knew, that promises answers and more important an adult that for the first time looks at Olaf in disguize and sees Olaf. Their view is biased at best.
We are also seing him by Quingleys eyes. But for Quingley Jacques was the man who found him lost in a tunnel alone and confused, griving and in danger and gave him something. That gave him some answers and food and a place to stay even if it was the abandoned house of one of his dead friends.
And even by everyone else Jacques is a Snicket, the Snickets are very competent and mostly loyal but also a bit weird. And Jacques is all that. But in comparrison to his sibblings? He has his life put together.
That's to say that Jacques is likely tired, overworked, traumatized and failing apart. But he can keep himself suave, well-read, well-dressed and calculating. He isn't taking obvious risky behavior like Kit. And he certainly isn't just a blurried bunch of trauma in a fedora like Lemony. So he appears to be someone that is fine. And that we shoudn't worry about.
