I’m just picturing ushijima messing up a serve and it accidentally hits the reader who is filling up water bottles for the team. The hall hits them right in the stomach, knocking the wind out of them. And Ushijima is just absolutely devastated. This guy cannot believe that he just served a ball into y/n, who is a “frail kitten”
You’d think he killed you, well in his eyes he practically did. Even the whole team is shell shocked because it hurts to even return on of his serves, let alone get hit in the stomach by one. A large black bruise forms quickly after the accident, making him feel even worse then before. Ushijima makes it a rule that you’re not allowed to leave the blench during their practices.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NO CAUSE NOW I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT A SMALL KITTEN'S FACE BEING REPLACED BY READER'S FACE AND IN USHIJIMA'S MIND, YOU'RE NOW PERMANENTLY SEEN AS THAT- "A FRAIL KITTEN"
The moment the ball hit you, everything came to a stop. The bottle you were holding, drops and you do as well, curling into yourself as you hold your stomach and start crying. That's when they all come running to you.
"Y/n? Y/n, are you okay?" Semi asks while Ushijima quietly turns you over on your back. You're just groaning in pain, crying as you shake your head, and Ushjima has to pry your hands away and lift up your shirt to see your reddening stomach.
"Shit." Tendou whispered. Ushijima simply picked you up and shushed you when you whined, running out of the gymnasium to the nearest hospital, with Tendou and Semi in tow, while the rest of the team stayed behind to explain to the coach what happened.
"Nothing's broken, so that's good. However, she did have some internal bleeding on her right side. We've fixed that but she will need a lot of rest, avoid strenuous exercises for a while. She might experience shortness of breath, abdominal pain and nausea for a while, but that's okay. But if she starts bleeding from her nose, eyes, ears or there's blood in her stool, she needs to come see me immediately." The doctor told Ushijima while you slept in the room.
Soon they brought you back to the dorms and Ushijima tucked you in bed, brushing the hair out of your face as a tear finally slipped from his eye. He did this to you. You have a large bruise because Ushijima slapped the ball out of court, and it hit you.
Wait. What were you doing near the court? Didn't he tell you to stay put on the bench?
You were filling up water bottles for them, and as sweet as it was, you almost died because of him. You're lucky the ball didn't break any bone, or else Ushijima would've actually thought that he'd killed you.
This is your fault as much as its his. He told you to stay on the bench for a reason, which was so that you dont get hit by the balls. And you didn't listen! If you weren't so bruised up, Ushijima might've finally punished you, but you need to rest.
He doesn't why you don't listen to him. Don't you know that he only wants the best for you? Does he need to tie down to the bench? Put a leash on you? Cant you see-
Wait. Leash. Ushijima's seen some parents putting leashes on their unruly kids.
Maybe that's something he could look into, considering how useful it'd be when you try to get lost in the sea of people during tournaments. Hell, he could even tie your leash to the bench.
Ushijima pulled out his phone and googled "child safety harnesses".
He's not losing his frail little kitten ever again.

road racer
warnings: cyclist!reader x shiratorizawa (platonic), angst, reader is basically an aomine kinnie but with a little twist.
Tumblr media
You thought you swore the day you started hating cycling would be the day the world ended, but look at where you stand now.
You closed the gap of opposing cyclists and widened it by 60 meters. Victory was at the pedal of your feet and everyone in the venue expected that you would stand on the 1st podium. When you only needed a few more pedals to the finish line and attain another medal and trophy to litter your house and room with, you stopped.
You slowed down, making spectators wonder why, it could have been fatigue and leg cramps, to which they let out disappointed sighs. You purposely slowed down, took a deep breath before letting out a long sigh.
"What are you doing?! The finish line's right here!"
"You can do it!!!"
People were yelling left to right, it started getting annoying. It no longer felt exciting to hear praises or "go for it" and "you can do it" cheers, nor did the look of the finish line getting nearer give you an adrenaline rush.
This was just pitiful. In the middle of a race, too!
The cyclist you sprinted your heart out with just a few minutes ago, whom you'd surpassed, passed by you instead. They didn't have their head up with a wide grin etched on their face, no, they had it turned to you as they finished first with a frown, out of seeming frustration but also worry.
As other cyclists pass by you, it no longer seemed exciting for them to stand before the stage to hear the awards ceremony. They felt insulted by your little show, like what, were you that great that you decided you didn't need another few medals and trophies because your house is basically filled with them?
Fortunately, they didn't hate you too much. Okay, maybe one did.
The three new faces who stand at the stage don't have a smile. They wanted to win fair and square, not be spared by you stopping just at two meters or three away from the finish line. It wouldn't have too much of a negative effect if you won either way, a huge grin etched on your face as you show off to the public, but no, neither happened. You didn't even look sad about losing, but I mean, you lost on purpose. So there's no point in acting sad about that.
"There are a few clubs and sports teams which still accept second and third years," Wakatoshi, your brother, said. Hoping that you would ask about Shiratorizawa's cycling team and announce that you would join.
"That's great but I know what you're thinking. I'm going to quit cycling anyway. Or, well, I have already quit. I'm going to spend my third year studying and getting into a good college." Stretching your long limbs, ultimately hitting his, and stood from the dining area.
"Is that really what you want?" He asked, a little worried about your statement. With the way you nodded so surely, he thought something bad was going to follow that his head started aching and his gut started twisting. Something was definitely going to happen.
Is it a storm? What if the house burns down? Even worse, what if he ends up quitting volleyball because he stopped loving it too? That thought scared him badly and he shook his head, making the ache worsen.
You soon disappeared from the ground floor of the house, now possibly in your room. Wakatoshi continued arranging a few papers before cooking dinner, as it is his turn this week.
Tumblr media
"The gym is near the baseball field. You can barge inside, just try not to make a scene with any of the girls, especially, in the court." Wakatoshi reminded you again before you two separated ways. With him heading to his class and with you heading to yours, which was a few classrooms after his.
Your first day at Shiratorizawa went by rather quick. With absolutely nothing relating to cycling coming up, it didn't feel so long. For the first time, you weren't reeking of sweat and your peers weren't complaining about you and your love for your bike. Nobody was trying to assume weird shit like, "You're definitely in love, like romantically, with your bike. I bet you–" Yeah, things like that. But that just shows how much you loved your sport. Probably.
For the first time, you didn't come back from lunch with any tire marks. You weren't dirty and you still smelled fresh, like you had just gotten out of the shower.
Now that you think about it, it did hurt a little not to have any friends who would talk as passionately as you with cycling. You made a few friends in your class, but none of them made comments about how much you grew over the course of two weeks all because of your intense workout and how long you cycle a day, but of course, there's no way for them to make such comments.
They did ask about your height, how you reached 6' and if you were related to Wakatoshi.
"I used to cycle back then, had this crazy intense workout routine that I follow every single day, I also cycled every day. I swam a bit, as well, which helped me increase my height. And yes, Wakatoshi is my brother."
They errupted in ohh's and ahh's but nobody asked further.
Soon, it was the end of the day at school. You helped clean up the classroom and the halls before wandering around the school, making it your mission to memorize everything before walking to the volleyball gym Wakatoshi allowed you to loiter at.
But before you could enter, you caught a glimpse of the baseball field and after the baseball field was a track course for cyclists. Of course, you still loved cycling, you just stopped for a little while, and of course, you had to check it out.

@midoriima this was written about a year and a half ago maybe? i regret not putting the dates 😭 i started getting back into yowamushi pedal and became obsessed so i integrated that new passion with my all time faves: haikyuu.

Had It All Together
Pairing: Tendou Satori x Reader Genre: Fluff What You Missed: Spending more and more time with Satori seems completely harmless. You're just friends, after all. Benefits doesn't change that at all. And yet, you can't help the tugging in your chest. You really swear, you have it all together; you're just friends.
Part 5 of Side Effects
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You sighed, smiling at the ceiling as you flopped onto the bed.
“What’s got you smiling so much?” Eita asked, not looking up from his work on his desk.
You scoffed a little. “How do you know that I’m smiling, you can’t even see me.” You pouted at him, hating how much he knew you.
“The way the sigh sounded. We’ve spent too much time together. For me to not know what your sigh sounds like when you’re smiling.”
“Hate that.” You mumbled, rolling your eyes. “It was nothing, just something Satori said to me last night.”
“Spending an awful lot of time with Tendou lately…” Eita dragged off, gauging your reaction as he tested waters neither of you had tread since your argument a few weeks prior.
“It isn’t like that.” You said quickly, but the words seemed to tug something in your chest, like the guilt of a lie rolling off your tongue.
“I’m just saying, this feels a lot like more than just sleeping together now.” Eita spoke offhandedly, not looking up from his papers. He knew if he treated this conversation like a big deal then you would shut down and shut him out.
“It’s not Eita.” You assured. “I know what I’m doing.” Eita dropped the subject then, he knew you and if he pushed more you’d storm out.
You wished that your assurance was true. But you, in fact, didn’t know what you were doing. You knew that you were spending more and more time with Satori. In his bed, in his dorm room. Just generally wrapped in his arms.
It was getting harder to separate your time with him, to keep it only as friends with benefits. The friendship just seemed closer than it used to. You never were good at keeping platonic and romantic feelings separate.
But you were sure these were just platonic feelings. Getting messed around by all the sex. Mind blowing sex you had to say. Satori just had a way of messing around at all times, making your head go dizzy with confusion.
But you were well aware of the deal the two of you had made. No feelings. It was your intention to keep that deal.

Satori’s hands caught your waist from behind, making you jump in surprise. He laughed when you turned to smack his arm from scaring you. “Sorry, sorry, didn’t think you would jump that much.”
“You’re trying to kill me, I swear!” You laughed loudly, letting him brace your weight when you clutched your chest. “Wanting to put me in the hospital or something I swear it.”
He chuckled, picking up one of your hands and pressing a small kiss to the back of it. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, won’t do it again.” Heat spread up your arm from your hand and settled at the base of your neck. You hummed in response, not trusting your voice at the moment as he turned both of you to start down the street. “So, coffee?”
“Is it a new coffee shop?” You asked, the one he’d named wasn’t one you were familiar with. You’d learned the ones on the campus fairly quickly, select spots that were best for their own specific things. But the one he’d asked you to come with him to, it was off campus and you’d never even heard the name mentioned.
“A little well-kept secret of mine.” Satori smirked down at you, tugging on your hand to get you to move a little faster. “You better not tell anyone about it.”
You laughed a little at that, smile forcing its way on your lips as you followed him dutifully down the street. “Who would I tell even?” You teased, nudging his side.
He had slowed down to walk side by side with you, his pace slower than usual so that you could walk comfortably. “I’m just saying, if I find Semi Semi in my special shop.” You laughed a bit, but nodded your consent to keep the secret. “Hey,” he started after a few moments of silence between you two, “how do you feel about getting some dinner after coffee?”
You swallowed down a large ball of anxiousness in your throat at the question. Even just out for coffee felt like straying too far from your usual routine with Satori. Dinner might be a step too far. Something you couldn’t turn back from once you accepted. Warning signs pulsed through your head like a storm siren. “Yeah, I could go for some food, I’m starved.”

Pairing: Tendou x Reader
Series Summary: A haunting was not included in the lease agreement.
Chapter Title: Cohabitation
Chapter Summary: You begin to come to terms with having a local haunt living in your apartment and disrupting your antique store dream, developing an unlikely and, albeit, odd friendship. Still, it’s just platonic... right?
“If you look at him close enough, you’ll notice that you can almost see through him. It’s like Tendou is made of thick, richly dyed, stained glass. He warps the space around him in a way that is barely noticeable, the back wall visible and distorted behind his chest and head. You’d never noticed it before, that glass-like quality that Tendou has. It makes him look fragile and somewhat impermanent. His distance from you, you feel, measures leagues further when you see him in this light. He frays at the edges, like he’s fading in and out of the space, and light never seems to hit him directly. “
Chapter Content Warnings: afab reader, gn pronouns, implications of creepy behavior, slightly creepy behavior (he’s just a lonely guy), wet dreams / suggestive dreams, implied somnophilia (but not actually, they’re just dreams), fingering, lost orgasm, teasing, edging, sexual tension (<3), nothing is unwanted, aspiring monsterfucker
Word Count: 8k
A/N: waaahhh part 2 already!!!!!!!!! i considered pushing the release for this back a little bit since my life has been kinda shit shit garbage as of late (rly just the past few days but i have truly aged a millennia), but i ultimately decided not to because it is already finished. i got kinda funny? with this? the mystery of tendou just keeps raveling itself tighter and yk what? it’s REALLY NOT ON PURPOSE! alright, anyway, i hope you enjoy this second chapter!! happy kinktober <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The shop has fallen completely silent. That silver clock, which normally brings a comfortable, metronome-like sound to the space, has gone quiet. You’re left with the sound of cars passing outside, bustling through the street completely unaware of what is happening behind the yellow-stone facade of this Parisian street corner. Though you can’t help but think that this shop swallows everything else. When you’re here, there is only the store. There is only the spiced smell of chocolate, only the antiques on your shelves. Everyone else, simply wanders in by chance. The outside world stays just that, outside.
Your fingers tremble around the little glass elephant and you swear that if you were to grip it any harder, it would shatter in your hand. You can feel the sensation of eyes on you and a familiar panic rises to your throat as you hold the object in your hand.
You’re still facing the shelf you checked behind, staring with wide eyes where the cherry wood meets the wall, too afraid to turn around and look to see if your house guest is present. Your heart beats rapidly in your chest and you wonder briefly if the clock has actually stopped or if you just can’t hear it over the sound of blood rushing in your skull. Your face is warm and your fingers are cold, clutching that little ceramic object as if it were a protective talisman.
“Guess I forgot that again, huh?” A voice comes from behind you, somewhat disembodied, as if it were coming faintly from the walls itself. You wonder why you’d never noticed that before. It sounds like it’s hollow.
You turn around, still crouched, now holding the object to your chest. Tendou is behind you a little ways away, standing behind one of the sitting chairs on the other side of the room. He’s not really near you, but he startles you nonetheless and you find your expression twisting downward against your will.
“Did you?” You squeak, voice barely above a whisper. Tendou raises his eyebrows a little, like he hadn’t expected a response before a small grin slides across his face.
What are you supposed to say in this situation? How are you supposed to approach whatever is currently happening?
Tendou watches you for a moment, his indiscriminate gaze moving between your face and the elephant wrapped in your fingers. Then, his shoulders deflate a little and he gives a defeated smile towards the ground. You watch as he chuckles to himself a little, like something is funny, before he looks up and gives you a bit of a smile through his lashes.
“Figured it out?” You look at the way his eyes curve back into his skull, tilting your head a little as you stand up.
You just stare at him, eyes wide. You can’t figure out what else to say. Your mouth won’t open around the syllables. Tendou spares you from commenting.
“Look, I didn’t mean to disturb you or freak you out. I’m just kind of… here. Don’t know how. Figured I wouldn’t fight it.”
You raise your eyebrows, moving your hands into a shrug before disbelief takes over you entirely.
“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?!”
Tendou shakes his head a little, like he’s shocked to hear you raise your voice, before returning your expression. He cranes his neck forward a little, deepening his perpetual slouch and then motions to himself and around him.
“Exactly what it sounds like?”
“You’re just… here…? Sat- Tendou, that’s fucking weird.” You clutch the trinket, nerves beginning to calm as you try to wrap your mind around the situation. “That is so fucking weird. This is so fucking weird.”
“It’s not my fault,” he shrugs cooly, raising his shoulders and his palms upwards towards the orange wood ceiling.
“Not your-” you whip your head around to look at him, “Not your fault?”
“Well… no?” He smirks a little. “You think I want to be here?”
Then, you begin to laugh. It’s dry, coming from the back of your throat and your head rather than your stomach. You feel the way it forces your tongue to go rigid and you lean back on your foot as it comes, leaning into whatever absurd feeling swells in your stomach.
Tendou says your name and steps forward, eyebrows pulled together and upwards. “Are you o-”
“Don’t come near me?! What’s wrong with you?!” You hold the trinket out toward him like it’s a sword, not quite angry but moreso in disbelief that he would think to take a step towards you. “I am so fuckin’ scared right now. Do not come near me.”
“Woah, jeez… fine.” He tucks his hands into his pockets, shifting his weight back.
You almost feel a little bad for being mean to him, sidestepping until you reach the chair in front of you before sitting down in it. Your eyes remain fixed on Tendou, watching in case he decides to lunge at you in an early 2000s… ghost-caught-on-camera… youtube video-esque fashion. He doesn’t move though, instead just sort of hovering on the opposite end of the room, peering at the books and occasionally looking over at you.
You lean your head up towards the ceiling, thinking to yourself that if he’s going to get up in your face, he might as well do it now. The ceiling is dark, barely illuminated by two light fixtures that you think are done in the art deco fashion. It’s weird that those are in Paris, but you don’t think too much about it, staring at their orange-yellow glow until your eyes hurt.
After a moment of silence, Tendou speaks up.
“I’m not gonna hurt you, y-”
“Don’t talk,” you interrupt. “Just… don’t say anything right now.”
You can practically picture the way Tendou purses his lips, hearing him kiss his teeth.
Think logically. Think logically about this. Wait no- why the fuck are you even hearing him out? You should be heading to the store to go buy sage and salt and maybe call a priest while you’re at it. You should be trying to think of every humanly possible way to get him out of your apartment and your shop. Instead, you’re staring at the ceiling while he stands on the other side of the room, arms thrown over either side, with a ceramic elephant clutched in one hand.
“So you’re…” you swallow the words, groaning. It is borderline embarrassing to say this out loud, cliche even. “You’re like… dead?”
“Like dead? I am dead.” You can hear his grin.
“Ha ha… what the fuck.”
While you sit, you notice that the downstairs ceiling is the stark opposite of the one upstairs. While the upstairs is equipped with a white-painted ceiling, this one is the same orange wood as the floors. You tilt your head a little, falling quiet while you think about it. Thinking about the ceiling is easier than thinking about… this.
“Why couldn’t you just…” you sigh, cheeks heating when you remember the fact that you liked him. That you flirted with him.
“Just what?”
You sit up in the chair, narrowing your eyes as you take in his stance. Tendou’s got his hands in his pockets still and he leans his weight forward like he’s eager to hear what you have to say.
“Nevermind,” you groan.
“No, what? Tell me,” he insists.
You open one eye to peer at him before running a hand down your face, letting a loud groan string from your lips.
“Why couldn’t you just like.. be normal? Why did you have to like… you know…?”
Tendou’s lips curl up in the corners, exposing his even row of front teeth. They’re straight and white, stark against the somewhat swallow complexion of his skin, and his front teeth are a little longer than his others. He tilts his head, looking up at you through his lashes despite his enormous height.
“Why did I have to… what?” He asks, clearly teasing.
You stare at him for a second before you feel heat rush to your cheeks. It’s like all of the blood in your body rushes to your head and lower stomach, unable to push the words past your lips. Why did you have to flirt with me? That’s what you want to ask. He doesn’t seem like the type to trivialize that, nor does he seem like the type to toy with girls. You think that while Tendou might enjoy a good game, he’s not an all-around bad guy… or ghost.
You swipe your tongue across your teeth before you cross your arms over your chest, feeling the weight of his sly grin and gaze, before standing up abruptly.
“I’m going upstairs,” you state, turning towards the dark stairwell to your right.
When you reach the entrance to it, that familiar fear creeps back in. It had subsided due to the absurdity and (honestly) rather disappointing lack of anything besides a conversation happening. You turn, somewhat sheepishly, over your shoulder.
“You can come up but don’t uhm… don’t follow behind me on the stairs,” you say, relenting a little bit with your snarky attitude. “I’m still uhm, I’m still scared.”
Tendou’s smile softens a little and he tilts his head to the side, nodding once and speaking a quiet okay. You watch for a second, cautious to turn your back on him, beginning up the stairs while still trying to keep him in your line of vision.
It’s difficult to describe the particular type of fear you feel once he disappears from sight. You don’t feel threatened but you do feel like you’re 14 again, fighting the urge to sprint up the basement stairs from some unearthly ghoul intent on following you.
You walk into the apartment upstairs, half expecting him to already be there. You’re shocked to find that he’s not and that sunlight pours into the room from the window to the left. You had expected your apartment to darken considerably after this discovery but instead, it still retains a somewhat airy feeling, well-lit and breathable.
You move across the room before sitting cautiously on the couch facing the front door. It feels odd for a moment as you try to get comfortable, trying to somehow will your nerves into submission as if they respond to your every command.
“Okay!” You call, voice shaking a little. “You can come up now!”
Tendou doesn’t make a sound when he rounds the corner and enters your apartment. His footsteps are silent, save for the occasional ghostly groan of the floorboards, and he lumbers lightly from side to side as if he were a little bit off of his axis. When he meets your eyes, he smiles a little and carefully moves to the center of the room where he sits on the floor a good ways away from you.
He keeps his fingers folded in his lap, pointers hooked around each other. Tendou’s shoulders are slouched, his neck craned slightly so that he can look at you. He shifts a little on his hips and the floor gives an eerie, ghostly creek not unlike the ones you’ve been hearing for quite some time. You take a breath in.
“Can I talk now?” He asks first, corners curling into a smile.
You nod, swallowing thick. Part of you wants to say something, but you’re not sure what there is to say. You figure that if anyone has had time to think about what would be said, it’s Tendou.
“I’m sorry… for not keeping my distance,” he starts, hands wrapping around his ankles. “Up until recently, no one’s ever spoken directly to me. Well, not since I died.”
You furrow your brows, listening. You’re the first person to see him? That doesn’t make much sense and your expression gives away your doubt, nose scrunching and brows pulling together.
“I know that sounds like a load of bullcrap but I’m being serious. When you first came down that day and spoke to me… I had no idea you could actually see me. Most people just walk right through me. Shit’s weird.” He rolls his shoulders back like thinking about the amount of times it’s happened makes his skin crawl. Then, he smiles a little. “I was surprised. No one could see me and then suddenly, you’re looking right at me.” He rolls his head to the side a little, a charming smile overtaking his features. “I panicked.”
You nod a little, trying to wrap your head around the conversation you’re having.
“Then why did you keep coming back?” You question.
Tendou laughs a little. “It’s not like I can leave.” He glances at the floor beneath him, finger tracing where two boards meet. “I think I’m stuck here. Not that it’s a bad thing. If I try to walk out of the door, I just end up back in the shop.”
“So… when I can’t see you you’re just…” you trail off, unsure of how to pose the question. So when I can’t see you, you’re just… around? Watching?
“Not quite,” he inhales, or, he goes through the motion of inhaling, “sometimes it’s like I’m dreaming. Everything gets hazy and I just kind of go through the motions that I think I used to do. Sometimes it’s like I’m invisible and separated from everything by a thin layer of plastic. And other times, it’s like I don’t exist. I’m somewhere and then I’m nowhere and then I’m somewhere again sometime later.”
Tendou laughs off the statement, seemingly reluctant to get into the specifics of his current existence between life and death. You don’t blame him. You imagine that it must be quite jarring to exist that way, not quite here but not quite there.
“Are you still scared?” He asks, tilting his head up.
“Yeah,” you answer honestly, laughing a little.
It’s true. You are still afraid. Who wouldn’t be? But with each passing moment, you feel those fight or flight hormones recede, leaving you in the shaky aftermath. After all, he looks harmless.
Tendou spends the next hour talking to you. He tells you about what he knows and what he doesn’t. You find that Tendou is less giving with details than you would imagine, occasionally adopting a somewhat forlorn expression as he avoids certain topics. You don’t pry, content to just listen to what he has to say.
You watch him while he talks, listening as he recounts that he used to be a chocolatier, that he doesn’t know when exactly he died or how long he’s been dead. He tells you that one day he was alive and the next, he wasn’t. Tendou laughs when he recounts the day he first realized it. He had gone to sleep one night in his bed and woken up in the middle of the living room, surrounded by unfamiliar furniture. When he went downstairs, he found that the shop (which once served as his chocolate store), had been transformed into a kitchen goods store. Satori closes his eyes when he tells you about how many times he’d tried to leave the building, smiling through it all.
You think that he must be putting on a brave face, but he doesn’t seem upset about it. He laughs like it’s an old memory and you find his acceptance at death to be a little comforting, if not sad.
Tendou talks with his body. He moves his fingers and his facial expressions punctuate his sentences better than his tone. You find yourself looking at his skin. It has a swallow quality to it, like it is somehow deprived of the air around him. You’d never noticed it before, save for the occasions in which you feel like you’re wrapped in blue cellophane when you’re around him.
You watch the way his mouth forms around syllables, heavy in his mouth and rolling off of his tongue in an easy and rounded way. His lips are a pale pink, tinted a soft blue like he’s cold and his cheeks are somewhat sunken, though you wouldn’t consider that concerning. You can see where deep undereye bags rest in a purple-gray hue below his eyes. You think they make the auburn of his irises pop, somehow contributing to his overall sleepy look.
If you look at him close enough, you’ll notice that you can almost see through him.
As you talk, you find that Satori is a lot like you. He doesn’t know much, instead rolling with the punches (of which, you happen to be one) and taking things day by day. He doesn’t overthink his existence too much, nor does he dwell on what can’t be changed. You admire that about him, finding yourself relating to him more and more.
There’s a moment during your conversation in which you realize that your fear has subsided, replaced by an indescribable sense of relief. It’s not overwhelming, nor is it particularly weak. You’re simply aware of it. You fight the heat rising to your cheeks when you realize that it’s because you’d been hoping for the irrational solution rather than the likely one. To break the tension and this growing sense of excitement within you, you speak. Tendou falls silent quickly after, content to let you talk if it makes you feel better.
“So you’re stuck here?”
Tendou nods.
“Should I call a priest?”
He laughs, pulling his knees to his chest and resting his cheek on top of them. Tendou watches you through low-lidded eyes and his smile, coy and knowing, makes them pinch in the corners.
“Hmm, I dunno about that,” Tendou smiles. “I’m not quite ready to find out what comes next. Besides, this was my home first.”
That sentence shocks you a little. This was his home first. You let it sink in a little bit, allowing the words to imprint themselves on your psyche. You consider them and what it must be like to feel like an intruder in a place you consider home. Tendou watches as you do, peering up at you like he’s reading your thoughts.
After a moment of silence, you heave a sigh.
“Alright. You can stay,” you stand from the couch, slapping your thighs with your open palms before pointing down at him on the floor. “But don’t be fuckin’ weird.”
“Haha, so considerate.” Tendou laughs. You find it to be considerably warmer than that of a ghost.
Tendou is a respectful houseguest, you think. He’s not always around, sometimes disappearing for days or weeks at a time, but the apartment and shop still maintain an eerie feel to them. You notice that syrupy feeling Tendou brings with him more often now. It coats your hallways and floors, leaving you slow and sleepy in the early mornings and late evenings when the sun casts bright orange shadows across your room.
You thought you’d be uncomfortable with the prospect of a haunting. You always imagined that if it were you, you’d react the way any sane person would and call a priest. Instead, you’ve gotten to the root of your “problem” and find that you’re quite comfortable with the result, if not excited. You’ve grown rather comfortable with your silver clock being silent most of the time, the second hand pausing in it’s ever-constant turn.
Still, there is an underlying layer of fear and intrusion. You think it’s attributed to being watched, to having a near-constant voyeur of your everyday activities. If you think too hard about your new roommate, the hair on the back of your neck stands, making the back of your neck hum with nerves.
What makes it worse is that the dreams continue. You dream about him almost constantly. In your mind, he approaches your bed with an even step, hands at his sides until they reach out to touch you. His skin, ghostly pale and glowing in the dark of the room, glides up your stomach and chest, hands splayed over your waist as he grips it.
They always feel like velvet, like a cross-section between sleep and waking hours. You feel the way his hands move up your abdomen, clutching your breasts and pressing them to your chest with greedy hands. He rolls his fingers across the fat there, dragging them down your belly and letting the skin catch and move with him until it bounces back up into place when he loses his grip.
In these dreams, Tendou never speaks, which you think is unusual for him. He’s always silent, admiring your form with hungry eyes as he runs long, spindly fingers up and down your stomach, raising goosebumps across your arms, thighs, and chest. He soothes them quickly with his fingers, ghosting over the raised skin with a featherlight touch until he comes to the place that you need him most, called by your desire and the knot winding in your stomach.
When you wake, you are always needy. You always find yourself glancing around, cheeks hot with embarrassment out of fear that he’s managed to materialize at the worst moment. Still, the only feeling that remains is that of someone just leaving the room. The shell of someone and the smell of warm, spiced chocolate wafting through the floorboards again.
It’s wrong, you think, to be so close to someone like Satori. You imagine that this friendship is taboo and somewhat strange, but you’re content to be called insane if it means you get to be around him.
Tendou is cheeky. Cheekier than you originally imagined him to be and still, despite the plane of existence gap, he flirts. Satori flirts with you like it’s a game, smiling with his upper teeth and a particularly mischievous glimmer in his eye. It’s like he knows what he’s doing, making calculated comments that he’s learned will get your heart racing.
It should be irritating. It should make your blood boil. Instead, you accept it with hot cheeks and a somewhat awkward reply. Flirting was easier when you thought he was human. It was easier to imagine it as harmless fun, toying with your perfect stranger whenever he visited. Now, it feels like it has a bit more weight behind it.
The tension is almost palpable. It sits on the back of your tongue when you speak to him sometimes, making your words sound clumsy and thick. You can almost taste it, that heavy-handed desire that swells within you like someone wading in water. It pulls and pushes in your gut, swirling until you think you might keel over and get sick.
Tendou however, is patient. He doesn’t pry, nor does he press you for an answer to his often teasing remarks. It seems that he’s somewhat hesitant too, though you can’t imagine that he has much to lose in his current predicament. What are you gonna do? Kill him?
If you could visualize your conversations with him, it would be like someone pausing to let you tie your shoe. He waits until you’ve thought of a response and backs off when you seem like you’re in over your head (which is, arguably, all the time). That’s not to say he doesn’t play with you like food though. Tendou seems like he wants to eat you up.
Still, despite the tension and the undeniable flirtatious undertones he takes with you, you gradually become somewhat close. You and your friendly neighborhood poltergeist… best friends forever. It’s like having a live-in, unpredictable, slightly irritating roommate. Sometimes, you almost forget that he’s not human. Other times, you’re painstakingly aware of it and swallow down desire like it is a medicine.
You sit on your bed with him, a few inches apart with one arm behind you and the other between you both. You watch the ceiling paint with him, eyes following the chipping paint in its nonsensical and frayed pattern. Secretly, you hope that you will get to see it curl further. You watch it praying that time will take its toll the moment you look at it.
Tendou is reclined beside you, his head level with yours and his legs bent half over the bed. His arms, long and lean, are tucked beneath his medium-length red hair and if you glance to the side, you’re able to see the upturned curve of his small, somewhat pointed nose.
Normally, you choose to stay away from sensitive topics. Despite your newfound closeness, you’re not so eager to get into conversations about life and death, though it seems that Satori would be willing to share. Today, however, you’re feeling undeniably curious, egged on by the warmth you’re imagining to emanate from him and the proximity of his body to yours.
“Do you miss anything?” You blurt out, silence scattering from the room and into the cracks in the crown molding.
Tendou glances sideways at you without turning his head. Instead, you turn to face him, curling onto one side with your legs bent at the knee.
“What do you mean?” He laughs a little and you watch the smile curl at the corner of his mouth, pulling out and then upwards to give you a flash of a sharp canine. He turns his focus back up to the ceiling.
“Like… being dead. Do you miss anything?” You clarify.
Tendou hums inquisitively. It comes from the back of his throat, from his belly where joy and fear and anger live. You listen, breathing quietly beside him.
It takes Tendou a moment to consider and while he does, you admire his side profile. His nose, his heavy creased eyes and the strong curve of them, the way his lips curl slightly in the corners. You note his thin upper lip as well as the full roundness of his bottom in comparison.
Your eyes find his cheeks, the even tone of pale skin there, dotted with freckles or scars— you don’t know which. His eyebags, which sit heavy beneath his lower lash line and the spot just above them where it’s puffy and protruding a little. All of his imperfections, you think, seem to make him prettier. They serve to give him a quality that only Tendou has.
After a moment (which feels far longer to you), Tendou turns his head towards you. He cranes his neck, the back of his head rolling along the forearm tucked behind it. It brings his face only a few inches from yours and, from where he’s laying, he has to look down a little to see you. Then, he gives you a knowing smile, glancing down at your mouth and the space just above your upper lip.
“Yeah… a few things,” he says, voice measured.
It has an upward lilt, clearly teasing and all-too-insinuating. You stare for a moment, enamored by the way he talks to you, by the way he looks, by the way heavy, meaning-laced syllables drip from his lips so easily. He feels so real to you. Tendou is so tangible when he’s this close to you, like physical proximity makes him more solid. It’s like you could just melt and become part of him, pulled by that syrupy gravitational pull. You want to taste it. Then, you’re brought back to your senses, head snapping to the side as you return your attention to the ceiling above you.
You fight the heat on your cheeks, inhaling and puffing out an exhale. Tendou looks at your profile for a moment before you hear him roll his head back so that he mirrors you.
“Like what?” You gather your courage, a bit alarmed at the way desire pools in your belly.
“My friends,” Tendou answers cooly.
You turn your head towards him again, catching the way his voice pulls down into a more melancholic place, and furrow your brows.
“Your friends?” If you’re honest, you’d never really considered it.
“Mhm. I had a lot of really great friends,” he says, smiling softly up at the ceiling. “I think that… if I were to miss anything… it would have to be them.”
“What were they like?”
Tendou laughs. “I can hardly remember now but I remember that they were good and that we got along. They accepted me, y’know?”
You nod, reminding yourself that Tendou was a person before he was a ghost. He had a life, he went to the movies, probably played a sport, and had regular visitors and people he talked on the phone with. What a weird thought.
“And sex,” he adds, his smile bleeding across his features. He doesn’t spare you a glance, instead, his expression reads that he’s so certain of the face you’re making that he doesn’t even have to look.
Your cheeks heat and you roll your eyes, sitting up and standing from the bed.
“Okay, Casper. That’s enough.”
“What?” He laughs, standing when you do and raising his hands defensively. “It’s true!”
You nod, fighting the urge to laugh as he tucks his hands in his pockets and looks down at you.
“Yeah okay, whatever. Go sit in the living room. I need to shower.”
“No invite?” He chides, raising one thin eyebrow.
“You don’t even pay rent,” you deadpan and Tendou nods lightly.
“That’s fair. Enjoy your shower.”
Then, he turns on his heel and walks out of your bedroom door. You close it behind him with a soft click, the door handle jiggling slightly as it slips into place.
You turn on the shower water before you let yourself start thinking. It hits the yellowed tiles in soft drops, pittering across it before it swirls down the drain and you watch it for a moment before disrobing and getting in.
It’s warm, falling across your shoulders and head as you tip your chin down and lean your hands against the shower wall.
You think about how close he was to you only a moment ago. You think about the desire that’s been pooling in your stomach since you first met him in the shop, hunched over his own figure as he commented on the niceness of your store. The curve of his cheek and lips haunts you the same way Tendou himself does.
You think about how he’d looked at you, the way his eyes slinked down to your lips, following the line and curve of them before moving back up to your eyes. It hits you that you want him. You want him more than you think you’ve wanted anyone before.
And sex.
You can hear the way he said those words clearly in your mind. It replays, his familiar and cat-like cadence on a loop in your mind. You can’t help but imagine his experience. Have his fingers been inside of someone else? They must have. He must have experience, with that much confidence. It sends you loopy, turns your blood to syrup and honeys your mind.
There’s an insatiable and unfullfillable curiosity when it comes to Tendou, coated in a rich and thick desire. That must be what the syrupy feel he brings with him is. It must be that you’re developing physical symptoms from him. He’s contagious. Maybe, sometime soon, you’ll look like stained glass too.
Do you want to fuck a ghost? You ask yourself this every morning when you wake up. Three weeks into your new arrangement and you spend your mornings fixing coffee while you grapple with the idea of wanting to fuck a ghost so desperately that it makes you a little crazy.
You think, most of the time, about your dreams. They’re so vivid, getting more vivid by the day. You wonder if they’re just fantasy or if something is lining up with your energies (which is something you, apparently, believe in now) that’s giving you such descriptive dreams. They’re so real that you can almost taste them. Well, you would be able to taste them if Satori did anything but feel you up in them.
He’s gotten close to kissing you a few times. Always hovering just above your face, you tilt your chin up in hopes to catch his mouth with yours. Just a small taste. That’s all you really need.
Instead of obliging, he just pulls away slightly, making you chase until you’re whining. When you wake, you’re always sticky. Your body is covered in sweat and between your thighs, you’ve made a mess of the underwear you wore to sleep. You stick to the fabric, inside of your thighs sticky with arousal, and it never fails to put you in a bad mood.
“Good morning,” Tendou chimes from around the living room corner. He’s made a habit of speaking before you see him, you think, to avoid startling you.
You shoot him a glare. It’s not really his fault that dream Tendou wouldn’t kiss you, but you think it’s his fault that you’re having the dreams in the first place.
Tendou’s eyes widen a little and he sits back in the chair. It doesn’t dent with the weight of him.
“Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed…” he chides, giving you a small lopsided smile.
You grin sarcastically before moving to the kitchen, pulling down a mug from the cabinet and setting it on the counter with a thud. He watches from the couch, chuckling a little bit to himself.
“Awful chipper for a dead guy, aren’t you?”
“We make do with what we have,” he says matter of factly. You frown a bit at the wisdom in his voice. “You opening the shop today?”
“Yeah, I have to,” you state, rolling your shoulders back while you wait for your coffee to steep in the french press.
“Mm or… you could just hang out with me?” He comes up behind you, putting a hand on either side of you on the counter. You hadn’t heard him get up. “How’s that sound?”
You turn around, careful to not touch him. You worry that if you do, you’ll go right through him and it would shatter the flimsy illusion that he’s a living, breathing man.
“Fat chance. You might just” you wave your hand in the air, “disappear without warning. Besides, I need money.”
“Mmm?” he hums delightfully, voice picking up at the back as it rises in pitch.
Tendou peers down at you from where he stands, tilting his head to the side as the corners of his lips curl into a wry smile. He gives you enough space to breathe. There is enough room between the both of you that he’s not touching you, his body angled forward so that he encroaches on the edge of what you would consider to be your personal space bubble. Still, you can’t figure out if he’s too close or if he’s too far.
You duck beneath his arm, feeling the velvet touch of his skin as it slips past yours. You’re relieved that he didn’t vanish. That there is at least something slightly tangible to him. Still, touching him feels frustrating. You want to feel the push of pressure when you tap him. You want the give and take of physical objects interacting. It is increasingly frustrating that you can’t dig your fingers into his arms and feel blood pulsing beneath his skin. Instead, touching Tendou is like touching velvet with the tip of your finger. Slightly soft and almost unregisterable if you weren’t feeling for it.
Tendou’s gaze follows you as you move about the room, his eyes slinking across his waterline. You can feel the familiar prick of the hair at the back of your neck and you’re vaguely aware of the all-too-teasing smile that graces his dulled features.
“Maybe if you’re here when I eat lunch we can hang out,” you say, spinning around as if you were conceding something.
Tendou tilts his head to the side. “I’ll try to stick around, then.”
You watch him for a moment before grabbing your mug and heading to the front door of the apartment. It’s too early to open still but you need the breathing room. Satori wishes you a good day from within the apartment and you find that it sounds like the walls themselves have spoken to you. Your cheeks heat and you sip your coffee to pretend that it’s the reason why they do.
Celine comes in with the mail today, bouncing through the door.
It’s been a few weeks since you’d asked her about Tendou and in that time, she’s asked you every morning if you ever got to the bottom of things. You always wave her off, smiling at her while making a comment about how it must have been a joke because Tendou Satori hasn’t been around lately.
You suppose that it’s not entirely a lie. Tendou hasn’t been in the shop lately but he has been upstairs, lounging around the apartment you pay rent for like the ectoplasmic freeloader he is.
Celine waves a familiar envelope in front of you and sets it on the counter. You look down at it, recognizing it as the second rent check you’ve received from your landlord. It marks the beginning of your third month here and you pause thinking about how it’s felt like a lifetime.
“Not as exciting the second time around, is it?” She asks, french rolling off her tongue easily in a thick, honey-coated accent.
You laugh a little. “It’s certainly lost at least a bit of its charm.”
She smiles, leaning forward on the counter and resting her head on her outstretched arm. “That guy still bugging you?”
Bugging you? He’s plaguing you. He’s a disease.
“Nah,” you shake your head, “I told you before that he hasn’t come around.”
Celine furrows her eyebrows a bit. “Still, I think it’s weird.”
“Yeah well… he was a weird guy,” you respond.
You notice that it’s the first time you’ve referred to Satori in the past tense. Not someone who is, but someone that was. It’s an odd thought and you spend a lot of time thinking about it once Celine leaves, her mail bag bouncing with each step she takes.
You eye the silver clock on the mantle above the register. It needs to be shined soon, it’s silver becoming dull with the regular wear of oxygen on metal. The second hand ticks by slowly and you heave a sigh as you turn your attention back to the near-empty storefront.
Thinking about Tendou is like falling down a rabbit hole of uncertainties and by the time lunch hour rolls around, you’re almost eager to finally get upstairs and ask him. It’s not so much one solid question but more so a collection of them, all coming together to form this puddle of uncertainty at your feet. Who was be before? What was his favorite food? Did he have a favorite outfit? A well worn comfy sweatshirt? How did he take his coffee?
You walk to the front door, glancing out into the open street where people move along the sidewalks and cars whizz down the road, sliding the small key into the lock and turning it. You’d almost forgotten that there was an outside at all, only reminded of the world beyond the shop door when you step out to get groceries. The lock makes a pleasant clicking sound, thick and heavy, as it slides into the door frame and you tug on it three times after to make sure that it’s really locked.
When you get upstairs and push the door to the apartment open, you find that Tendou is nowhere to be found. You call out to him as if it could summon him, voice ringing through the apartment and bouncing off the walls, but to no avail. The sound hits them and ricochets right back at you, giving the space a hollow and empty feeling. Part of you thinks that he might be hiding, leaning into the somewhat playful aspect of his personality, but when you check the adjacent two rooms, you find nothing.
You eat your lunch alone. Well, not really. The eyes are always there, heavy creased and double lidded, but—for all intents and purposes—you are alone.
Fingers. That’s what you register when you first enter your dream. You feel them creeping down your waistband. As you blink in the syrupy feeling of dreams, you realize that you’re once again face-to-face with Tendou. You’re back in the same dream you always have, with his body positioned above you and his hands wandering aimlessly down the center of your stomach.
There’s no pressure. The feeling of being touched is almost imaginary, as is customary of dreams, and you squirm like it will give you a better feel of him. His fingers drag across the dips in your stomach, pads of them pressed firmly to the skin there. You can see the way it dips and bends around his digits, wells of flesh created by his wandering hands.
You’ve picked up in the middle of your usual dream this time, towards what would normally be the end. Around this point, your dream always comes to a frustrating climax in the form of waking up.
Satori toys with the waistband of your shorts, his finger slipping under and sliding side to side beneath the elastic material. You watch with an open mouth, beginning to pant as desire drips into your belly from Tendou above you. You study the boney curves of his hands. They’re fair and pale, almost glowing, with an even tone and somewhat purple hues. You admire the veins that run up the back of them, ignoring the fact that any blood within is stagnant—if it is present at all. They go all the way up his forearms, creating slightly raised lines that look like they would be soft to the touch. If you could, you would feel them.
His eyes go between you and his fingers. Tendou watches as he toys with you, his gaze occasionally flicking up to meet yours. In them, you find low-lidded curiosity. They bubble with something akin to desire and you find yourself gasping at the intensity of them. In this dream, everything Tendou does, he does with intention.
Then, he takes his other hand and slips your shorts down your thighs. You feel the way the fabric of your panties sticks to your cunt, shifting your hips upwards so that they’re easier to take off. This is new. You’ve never dreamt this before and you can feel yourself salivating at the idea of going further, nudging your chin up in the hope that maybe this time he’ll kiss you too.
Tendou runs his hands up your thighs and you note that, in your dream, they’re warm and fleshy. Though you know that you’re feeling imagined touch, you relish in it. Tendou doesn’t feel like this in waking hours.
His fingers slide up the inside of your thigh, running along the crease where your cunt meets your leg. Tendou’s so close to where you need him, smearing his fingers across your cunt and giving you the sensation of pressure without there being any.
Then, his thumb comes into contact with your clit and you struggle to find your voice. It doesn’t feel like anything in particular—a frustrating culmination into something unplaceable—but even just watching makes you feel good, like you’re starving and he’s dangling a meal in front of your face. It’s not graspable and you know, from the way your gut swirls, that this is your brain making up an explanation for the perpetual arousal you experience on a near-daily basis. Still, you imagine it to feel good.
You watch as Tendou slides one long spindly finger into you, curling up. Just watching it is enough to make your breath swell, finally finding your voice as you let out a low moan that hums in your chest. He tilts his head to the side, his cool facade breaking for a moment to reveal a pleasant and mischievous smile.
Everything feels weighed down with sand, like it has gone slightly numb. Your limbs are weighted, body heavy and inexplicably sweet. His face, only a mere inch from yours, breathes warm breath across your cheeks and you push your chin forward to kiss him. Instead, you feel only the ghost of his lips, fluttering by your open mouth as you writhe and gasp for more stimulation.
You feel the beginnings of a climax. It’s at your fingertips, starting to swell within you as it bubbles intangibly from your chest and down into your stomach. You pant, breasts rising and falling as his fingers speed up with your breathing.
Just as you are about to come, sandbag legs beginning to tremble with imagined pleasure and clumsy fingers heating as you come to the crest of the wave, you wake.
It’s less gentle this time as you writhe at the unplaceable loss. It’s always strange waking up from a wet dream before you come, you always realize after the fact that there was something missing.
Your forehead sweats. Beads of it have collected above your eyebrows and you groan as you rub your eyes and turn your head toward the blind-covered windows. You can see the early wisps of morning light coming through, still blue in hue as the sun hides behind the horizon, and you sigh, unwilling to begin the day.
“Are you okay?”
You turn with a start, making out Tendou’s silhouette in the doorway. He leans his shoulder against it, body curved in a delightfully casual way with one foot crossed idly over the other. Your face heats, eyes widening in the dark of the room.
“What do you mean?” You say, half mortified.
“You were groaning in your sleep,” he says, shrugging his shoulders. “Wiggling around too. Thought you might have been having a nightmare.”
You shake your head, giving a small laugh. “No, I don’t think I was.”
You feign uncertainty and Tendou walks over to the edge of the bed and sits. It doesn’t dip. He tilts his head, leaning to the side on one hand.
“Then what did you dream about?”
He seems to be asking genuinely, eyebrows furrowed in the center, though it’s too dark to really tell.
“I can’t remember,” you lie, laying all the way back down in bed.
Tendou hums inquisitively. It sounds like he’s onto you, tilting his head further to the side so that he can keep looking at you.
He’s never been in here so early in the morning. If he’s around when you wake up, he sits in the living room or kitchen waiting for you to get up. Today, however, he appears in the doorway the same way he does in your dreams and you’re made hyperaware of his proximity to you.
Tendou lays down on top of the covers beside you. His body bounces but the bed doesn’t and you briefly wonder if everything in this world has a ghostly counterpart. You imagine things like they are only one side of a coin and the other is one you can’t see.
“Do you… always watch me when I sleep?” You ask, voice quiet through embarrassment.
Tendou tilts his head to the side, smiling as his eyes crinkle in the corners. “Not always.”
You nod, taking in that information and trying to swallow down the mortifying ordeal of being caught immediately post-wet dream by the exact person you had a wet dream about. Rubbing your legs together to ease the ache.
“Why?” You croak.
Tendou gives a small laugh, eyes following the lines your face makes. You see them travel down your cheeks, to your nose, and then to your lips.
“What else is there to do when you’re dead?”
“Good point.”

girl i need platonic yandere shiratorizawa headcannons with manager reader also love your work keep it up 💜🤍
♡ Yandere Shiratorizawa Headcanons ♡
(A/N: It was so hard to find a manga panel of all of Shiratorizawa 😡😡 So this will have to do!!! A lot of this was inspired by @/i-cant-sing, cause I love their work, and I know we’re moots but I’m to scared to @ them 💞💞)
Content Warning ⚠️: Yandere, overprotectiveness, possessiveness, manipulation, tracking, kidnapping, also this is meant to be platonic yandere 💖
Summary: You’re the manager of Shiratorizawa boys volleyball team! (Yan!Platonic!Shiratorizawa x GN!Manager!reader)
Masterlist ➸ ♡
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Tumblr media
♡ You made a mistake being the manager for this team. The moment they see you, they are possessive and attached. You’re never getting out of this. They’re all very possessive over you. They see you as small and fragile so they’re very protective over you in every way.
♡ Ushijima is way to protective over you. You’re their manager, and he’s very possessive over you. He’s almost always by your side, so no one even looks at you wrong with a giant of a man next to you. Very intimidating sometimes, even with you. Sometimes when you want to go hang out with new friends or ditch practice, he gives you a look that sends shivers down your spine. Everything is dangerous for you in his eyes.
♡ Tendou is your best friend! One of the more sneaky yanderes, he’s very manipulative. He’s also very clingy, his favorite activity is coming up behind you and randomly picking you up! He’s the one you always go to for comfort, sometimes you sneak into his dorm at night when your sad just go read manga and watch your favorite movies with him.
♡ Semi is also best friend material. More grounded than Tendou though. He’s very protective over you and any time you want to do anything stupid, he’s there to just pick you up and carry you away from whatever your doing. You also sneak into his dorm because when you can’t sleep, he’s always willing to play guitar and sing for you until you fall asleep.
♡ Reon is the most grounded and logical one. He’s there to support you and be with you! Also the one to help you if you’re hurt, one time one of Ushijima’s volleyballs hit you right in the stomach and Reon was the one who nursed you back to health. They all freaked out when it happened, they were honestly concerned that it had broke a bone. Ushijima didn’t forgive himself for a month or two.
♡ Goshiki is the clingiest our of all of them. You see him as a younger brother. He’s constantly wanting your attention and praise. Anytime he does a particularly good move, he automatically looks over at you wanting you to praise him. He’s constantly clinging to you, your hugs are his favorite.
♡ Shirabu is definitely the most possessive. You’re their manager and he hates any time anyone tries to talk to you or any one else tries to befriend you. Especially other volleyball teams! You seem to always want to make friends with people and Shirabu has to drag you away, telling you it’s dangerous.
♡ They definitely get a tracking device for you. It’s most likely in the form of jewellery, and you love it so much you never want to take it off. And you better not take it off because if you do these boys will manipulate you into wearing it again. They just want to make sure your safe at all times.
♡ They’re not giving you up after graduation. You’re going to be kidnapped by one of them, if not all of them. Most likely Ushijima because he was the captain and the one with the most money. You’re like their little sibling and they’re never going to let you go.
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Thank you for reading, darling!!

feat. Oikawa, Iwaizumi x GN!Reader | wc. 2.1 k
sum. By pairs are already chaotic enough as it is, let's add you in to see what havoc they'll cause when you're around.

OIKAWA & IWAIZUMI
GENERAL HEADCANON ;
The dynamic between the three of you is quite complex for anyone to comprehend.
But if there's an easy way to describe your friendship with them; you three are the epitome of C H A O T I C.
Oikawa is that friend who constantly teases you at the most random times, steals your hoodies every sleepover, who keeps losing the borrowed items from you and the one who's always updated to your love life and gossips behind you.
He mostly gossips with Iwa-chan anyway, so expect your secrets to be spilled within the very next hour you told him you have a crush on their teammate, Matsukawa.
Calls you variety of nicknames, but mostly sticks to the nickname he first gave you.
Would always rant how he's so much better than Tobio in any ways, shape and form. You've had enough for most of them and subtly fall asleep while he's talking.
He also has that tendecy to throw you under the bus when Iwa-chan is pissed off at him when he's late for practice, mostly because he kept indulging his fans.
"You're coming with me, Y/N-chan. I might get lost with all my mob of fans and no one will ever found me again." :(
In truth, you're the human shield for someone who's plotting to make you the bait for his impending doom. It never worked on Iwaizumi either way.
Though, in rare occasions you two would work together to give Iwa-chan more wrinkles than he already has.
And speaking of the setter, Izumi is your nickname for him.
It's quite unique and people sometimes assume this 'Izumi' you're speaking of is a girl. You never really denied their assumptions though.
Izumi takes the role of the Mom in your small group anyway.
He's that sarcastic chill mom who would always keep you and Oikawa in check, Oikawa often blew his fuse and you have to be the hero to hold him back from committing homicide of your close friend 🙃
When he's in the right mood, he'll also share you his food without Oikawa looking.
Would offer you to join them in their practice if you have nothing to do and admonish the team if they're misbehaving around you.
HOW YOU MET ;
8 year old version of you won't think that playing volleyball by yourself in an abandoned park would lead you in meeting two boys occupying the park before you.
Your siblings are athletic and play varieties of sports, one of them being Volleyball.
You borrowed your brother's volleyball to test out a few moves you saw him doing in your backyard.
Being the introverted kid you are, you found a secluded area where no one can absolutely disturb or humiliate you in your attemps.
Unfortunately for you, there was this brunette-haired douche who made crushed your self-esteem.
"Pfft!"
You heard the unmistakable muffled snicker somewhere, your heart almost hit the floor, if that's possible. You find yourself wishing whatever God is listening to you would grant you mutant powers to let the ground swallow you whole.
"Were you trying to practice Basketball instead of Volleyball?" It irks you how he seems so confident he can do it better.
"That's not nice, Oikawa." A boy roughly around his ages emerged behind him with a frown marring his face, "I know! But can't you laugh after seeing them fail?!"
Rude!
"Ignore him please, he's been a jerk ever since."
"Hey!"
You've come to learn their names minutes later and this Iwaizumi guy even helped you by correcting the stance and everything.
You wouldn't ever thought of finding such precious friends and treasuring them.
With Oikawa's first impression to you, it seemed like there was no hope of befriending with that guy.
But oh boy, you thought wrong.
AS TEENAGERS ;
As what stated in the General, your trio is chaotic.
Coincidentally, all of you went at the same school. It was mostly Oikawa begging you two to accompany him in his high school journey.
The two boys immediately applied in the Volleyball Club while you never bothered to apply in any clubs.
You can either be their manager or just be an independent individual. Your choice.
You'd watch their game and always be disheartened whenever they lose to Shiratorizawa.
You'll find Iwaizumi dozing off, often finding him crying by himself in the lockers. It broke you to see him weep for a loss, he's the Ace and the team kept failing because of his spikes.
Iwaizumi was anything but a failure, sure he has his own flaws but not to an extent where he'd be a burden to his teammates. That was just his innermost evil thoughts
Oikawa would ignore everyone and just be with himself, probably rethinking his course of action earlier.
Or comparing himself from Tobio, who's always been his arch nemesis.
You'd try your best to be there with them, no words can ease their pain, but you can offer comforting hugs.
At some point, the three of you cut ties for a week after they lost to Shiratorizawa for the second time.
It was. . . lonely. Even if Oikawa's annoying shenanigans get in your way, a day is never complete without them.
You miss how rambunctious it was, how lively your morning would start despite the feeling of drowsiness because Oikawa is always there to lighten up the mood.
Without Iwaizumi for a day, who's gonna keep you in checked everyday? Who's gonna remind you what you've forgotten, or be there to save the day?
But no matter what storm may come, you three always find a way back to each other.
HOW THEY PROTECT YOU ;
Being Oikawa's friend didn't mean he influenced you with all his knack of mischief and causing headaches to Iwa-chan.
You didn't really have that much friends other than them, so it's less likely for you to have enemies.
However, being close friend with two popular volleyball players means a few attention and jealousy would dart on you unknowingly.
You were the only one who can converse with the two outside the volleyball field.
Many people have tried to make you their gateway to closure to the two, it often pisses you off.
One day, Iwaizumi was trying to fetch his crappy friend for their practice when he heard a statement that made his blood boiled faster than Oikawa's annoying shenanigans.
What's worse is that you were being picked on!
"You annoying bitch! Why are you hogging Oikawa and Iwaizumi as if they're collectable pokemon cards?!"
Say what now?
Instead of mulling over their words, you couldn't help but to be amused at their claims. You've become immune to their harsh words that it becomes a form of your own amusement.
Collectable pokemon cards? Seriously? LOL!
You saw how their mouths move to say something more but you couldn't comprehend what it was, you were busy holding it in.
By the time you composed yourself, a hand slipped around your shoulder and squeezed out of reassurance.
"Hmm! What do we have here?~"
You shrieked at the sudden appearance of your best friend.
Oh, you can't wait to tell it to him.
"You should've heard what they said, Tooru! Pfft, they said you—"
When you glanced at him, your bright attitude dropped. There was his charming smile yet again that makes every girl fall for their knees, however, you've known him long enough to know what it actually pertains to, and you don't like it one bit.
You didn't notice how your harasser flinched back at the anonymous intensity on his face.
This time, the brunette looked at you with softened gaze, "Hmm? What were they saying, Y/N-chan? You look happy despite the misplaced hate comments about you."
You blinked surreptitiously, unsure how to deal with this kind of Oikawa as you have never been in a tight situation like this before. Izumi mostly handles all of his bipolar sides.
As if someone reading your mind and prayers, Iwaizumi came to the rescue but you didn't expect him to side with OIKAWA. The Oikawa? When did the world became square?
"I agree, we can report you to the Principal for bullying, bullying rates in Japan is high and they don't belittle this issue."
Both of them were now barricading your existence from the girls, you can tell Oikawa is holding back himself from committing homicide and the back of your mind tells you Izumi won't even lift a finger to stop his friend.
You never encountered such scenarios anymore, and either of them would guard accompany you in your class. The crowd would part when they see Oikawa or Iwaizumi with you. Great, isn't it? Everyone is now afraid of messing with you.
If you never had friends because of your introverted self then now you have more reasons to have no one but them :)
AS ADULTS ;
Le cries :(
All of you had to separate from College after graduating high school.
Oikawa was accepted in a boarding school in Argentina that focuses more on honing Volleyball players. Iwaizumi just went to the nearest college in his town.
You and your family had to go back in your province. You can only imagine how difficult it was to connect with your friends.
No worries though! Your bond is stronger than any distance.
Group chats were never quiet. Oikawa kept updating you two with his personal life in Argentina, sending blogs, documentaries, calls and random memes he can think of.
Hanging out with Iwaizumi was never scarce.
Every weekend, you'd put everything aside and go back in the City, or Iwa-chan would visit your province once in awhile.
Every summer, Oikawa would come back in Japan to visit his friends and family.
You better be damn well prepared for a shopping spree every time he's home.
He'd bring home souvenirs and random trinkets he found while Iwaizumi would treat him his favorite food.
LOTS of selfies and pictures here and there as what Oikawa would say as his 'remembrance'
"Stop taking a picture of my hairstyle, Tooru. Not my eyelashes! You're not Suna!"
After graduating college, you proceed to apply for a job.
It wasn't long before Iwaizumi became a trainer and Oikawa stayed in Argentina for quite some time.
Life was never boring with them. Even if there's distance, nothing can tether the unbreakable bond you have with them. It's chaotic, but what's life without a little bit of thrill?
That's what it's like to be friends with them. You have each other's back no matter what.
Insulting words may overweigh compliments, but sentimental actions were never lacking. Not a perfect friendship, but also not imperfect.

Summary: A few weeks have passed since you arrived, feeling much closer than before. Soon enough the Golden Week arrives, going to Miyagi to play against a school called Karasuno by the end of it. Throughout the week, however, you met various schools of the area, including Shiratorizawa and Aoba Johsai.
Kenma x reader; Haikyuu x reader [platonic!]
First Year: Inarizaki
Second Year: Part 6 - Part 7 - Part 8 ...
Kenma feels much more comfortable with you ever since, putting his head on your shoulder whenever he’s tired or laying his head on your lap whenever he wanted to get away of practice while playing games; he doesn’t blush as much as before whenever he initiates it, but the moment you do something his face goes all shades of red. It also became a routine for you to go to his house after practice and either play together, you watching him play, or each one doing their own thing.
Now you are two days away from the Golden Week, the guys are practicing hard while still trying to teach Lev how to properly receive a ball. The coach comes by a few minutes later, calling them to the bench.
“Finally, a break from Lev” Kenma sighs while putting his head on your lap
“You’re too mean to him, he isn’t that bad”
“But he doesn’t think, and it’s not consistent, that’s a problem” he takes your hand, putting it in his head so you play with his hair. Kenma doesn’t remember when he grew so comfortable with your touch, but he doesn't really mind that much
“I don’t know if I should be happy that Kenma is not a complete loner anymore or if I want to vomit because of how cute they are with each other” Kuroo tells Yaku, earning an annoyed look from the blonde
“Guys, I have some news for you. As you know, the Golden Week is about to start; I know this is sudden news, but this time we’re spending that week in Miyagi, we’re doing all the adjustments for it so make sure to tell your parents”
“Why are we going there coach?” asks Kuroo
“There’s a school there, Karasuno High, that I used to have an old rivalry with, but the coach there retired so we haven’t had a match in a long time. The new coach tried so hard to have a match, so I thought why not. The match is arrange for the last day of the Golden week, but we’re going there early so we can have some matches with other schools of the area”
“Miyagi, right?” you ask
“Yeah, it’s a few hours away, don’t worry”
“No, no, that’s not it. If I remember correctly Shiratorizawa is in there”
“Shiratorizawa? Are they good?” asks Lev
“Yes, they have a top 3 ace. Inarizaki played against them in the nationals”
“Ahh yeah, I remember, Ushijima was strong” adds Yaku
“It would be good to have a match against them, to see if our defense is strong enough, but I don’t know if they will be open to a practice match all of the sudden” says the coach
“I kinda know someone from there” you whisper remembering Tendou
“Kinda?” Kuroo asks confused
“I talked to him a little and know his name”
“But that can help us, we can go and you can try to convince him when we go to Miyagi”
“I don’t even know if he remembers the conversation, it was right after his match” you say panicking a bit, trying to find an excuse to not having to do it
“It’s worth to try”
“C’mon chibi-chan, it would help us practice, don’t you want us to get better?”
“Now you’re just emotionally manipulating her, Kuroo. You know that she cares about us AND that she doesn’t like talking that much” adds Kai
“That’s low, Kuro, that’s low” says Kenma
“…Fine, I’ll do it”
“Thank you Yn-chan, when we get to Miyagi it will be our first stop”
The last few days of the semester pass quickly, ending up with you awake at 6:15 am on a Saturday to finally go to Miyagi, just waiting for the guys so you can go to the school. The first one to appear is Kenma, who first reaction is to lay his head on your shoulder
“‘m tired, too early”
“Did you even sleep Ken?”
“2 hours”
“You’re sleeping on the bus then, no games”
“But I wanted to play with you” he whines
“I’m going to steal your PSP, you need to sleep more if you want to play, I want to win against you when you’re properly awake”
“You will still lose if we play now” Kenma says lifting his head up with a tired smile
“Who would’ve thought that Kenma is clingy and whiny when tired? Ever since chibi-chan arrived I have seen so many new sides of you, Kenma” Kuroo smirks at his friend
“Shut up Kuro”
“Let’s go, we’re going to be late” you say to the both of them
“Don’t act like you didn’t hear me chibi-chan, you’re also blushing”
“Shut up Kuroo” you say, making the tall boy laugh
You arrive at the school when you see the rest of the team; this time only the official players will go, while the rest will stay here practicing. As soon as the bus arrives Kenma takes your wrist and walks with you to the last seats, moving next to the window with him sitting beside you while taking his console out.
“Didn’t I say that you should sleep?”
“But I’m fine”
“Are you really? Give me that and sleep a few more hours, we’ll play later”
“…Fine” he sighs while handing you his console and putting his head on your shoulder. Through the corner of your eye you can see Yamamoto shocked face, but he doesn’t say anything “You can play any of my games if you want to”
“Thanks Ken”
Since you couldn’t fall asleep again, you waited until Kenma fell asleep, which was quite quickly for someone who said he was fine, and turn on your console to play Animal Crossing in the meantime. A few hours later Kenma wakes up, straighten himself up.
“Better now?” You whisper since everyone else fell asleep
“Yes, I’m not that tired anymore”
“Good, want your PSP?”
“Sure, let me visit your island”
You spend the rest of the trip playing together or you watching him play. After a while you open the curtain to see the place, hearing a little whine from Kenma at the sudden light, when looking outside you notice a school with a sign outside that says Aoba Johsai.
“Was that Aoba Johsai, right? Are we staying near them?”
“I think so, according to maps, we are around 10 minutes away by car. Why?” Yaku answers
“They played against Shiratorizawa before the nationals, they were good”
“I’m looking them up. Apparently, they are in the top schools for volleyball, but Ushijima broke all their formations”
“Chibi-chan you don’t happen to know someone in there? It would be good to practice against them” asks Kuroo
“Nope”
“Can you stop here please?” the coach says to the assistant “Since we are already here, let’s try. Yn-chan why don’t you go first and call anyone if you need me?”
“Me? Why?”
“I have a feeling that you have the more chances of getting it”
“The captain sounds like a playboy, he has fans and all. You can use your charms and convince him” says Kuroo
“Charms?”
“You know, you have a good first impression and it’s easy to talk with you. Like, you made Kenma comfortable with you. Ken.ma” Kuroo explains, making the blonde roll his eyes annoyed
“…Fine, I’ll go”
“That’s our chibi-chan!”
“Thank you Yn-chan” says the coach
You went out of the bus and walk towards Aoba Johsai feeling nervous. Before finding the gym you see a tall dude with a jacket that says ‘Aoba Johsai Volleyball Club’ refilling water bottles outside, so fighting against your shyness, you decided to approach him
“Ehh…hi?”
He turns around before answering, making you noticed his whole self, a spikey dark hair boy with a number 4 in his t-shirt looking at you with a frown in his face, confused by the sudden interruption “Hello”
“Uhm… do you know where is the gym where the volleyball club practice?”
“Ah, sorry, it’s a close practice, we can’t let any Oikawa fan enter the gym” he says while confusion leaves his eyes, a clear annoyance appearing as he mutters something
“Oikawa…fans? Who’s that?” you ask, even though you were sure that he’s the setter and captain of the team, you knew that if he had fangirls the easiest way for them to trust you was to pretend that you didn’t know who he was. You had experience with that after all
“You’re not…a fan?”
“Mmm nope…sorry?”
“Oh, don’t be sorry, it’s amazing actually. What do you need then?”
“Ah yes, I’m Yl Yn, currently the manager of the Nekoma High volleyball team, in Tokyo. Last year my previous school, Inarizaki High, played against Shiratorizawa and I ended up watching your match with them. I wanted to see if you guys will be okay with having a practice match with my team since, in my opinion, you were amazing”
“Oh wow…thanks” he says shyly, with one arm behind his head, rubbing it flustered. You can’t help but look at his toned arms. “I guess you can come to talk to the coach. Let me finish filling the bottle and you can follow me”
“Thank you” you smile at him, making him smile back awkwardly. Before he continues an idea pops up, maybe if you help him he will help you back later “let me fill them up”
“No, no, you don’t have to”
“It’s fine, I’m used to do these things, besides you probably have a lot with practice” you take the empty bottle out of his hand and going to fill it
“Thanks…Yl, right?”
“Yes, but Yn it’s fine too” you say filling the other bottles
“Thanks, Yn, I’m Iwaizumi Hajime”
“Nice to meet you, everything is done”
“Let me take it, you already did a lot for me. Follow me” says taking the bag; even with the jacket on you were able to see the muscles of his arms. You go to the gym, which was closer than expected, but since it was indoors it would have been harder to spot. When you enter the gym you see a bunch of tall boys with light blue uniforms warming up.
“Iwa-chan you took a lot of time, what were you…well hello there, who are you pretty girl?” says a tall boy with dark brown hair, which you assume was Oikawa.
“Shut up trashy-kawa, stop flirting with everything that breaths”
“Iwa-chan so rude! Don’t listen to him pretty girl. Sorry to disappoint, but you can’t see me play today”
“I didn’t come to see you play, sorry” you smile at him
“You didn’t?”
“Nope” his expression changed from shock to disappointment, making Iwaizumi laugh at him
“Trashy-kawa here thinks that everyone knows him, sorry for that. Let’s go, the coach is over there” you bow to Oikawa before continue walking
“Iwaizumi, out of everyone here I thought that you will follow the rule of no people allow”
“Sorry coach, she came here to talk to you. Go ahead” You explain the same thing to the coach, explaining to him all the details. While you were talking, the rest of the team came closer to you after hearing Oikawa talk about it.
“I see, I see. I have heard of Nekoma, they’re specialists of defense, right?”
“Yeah, they’re awesome at it. They’re the best team that I have seen at defense”
“It would be an amazing practice, I agree. Iwaizumi, what do you think?” asks his coach
“If they are that good then it would be an amazing match for us too”
“Ok then, let’s see at what time we can. It’s your coach around?”
“Yes, he’s on the bus, let me call him”
The coach goes with his assistant to see their schedule, so you call Kuroo to reach the coach quicker, you knew he was waiting for your call.
“Well, pretty girl, since you don’t know me let me present myself. Oikawa Tooru, my pleasure”
“Yn, nice to meet you”
“Yn, sounds foreigner, so what language do you speak?”
“Spanish and English”
“Really? Can you help me?” Oikawa asks, all signs of flirting gone “I’ve been looking for someone who teach me Spanish but it’s hard to find people around here”
“Why do you want to learn? But sure, I can help. If you go over the top with the flirting I’ll stop though”
“Thank you so much!” you smile to him as Kuroo enter the gym alongside the coach
“You’re okay chibi-chan?” Kuroo appears beside you, passing his arm over your shoulder protectively while your coach goes with Seijoh's
“Yeah, I’m fine” you say as he rubs your hair
“Sorry for throw you into this chibi-chan” he whispers before turning towards the other two boys “Hello, Kuroo Tetsuro, Nekoma’s captain”
“Oikawa Tooru” they hold each other's hands with a nice smile on their faces, but everyone can notice the tension “is he the reason why you don’t want me to flirt with you that much, chibi-chan?”
“Tetsu? Nah, I’m not dating anyone, I just don’t want you to flirt with me”
“Hmm?! Guys don’t laugh!” says Oikawa offended
“The Great Oikawa is being shut down completely. I don’t know you but I love you already” a light brown hair dude looks at you, 3 of them laughing like crazy while Kuroo and you stand there clueless
“Trashy-kawa almost never gets rejected, that’s why his ego is so big, it’s a nice change” explains Iwaizumi
“Iwa-chan!”
“Guys let’s go, we still need to go to our other destination” calls your coach Nekomata
“Bye, thank you” you bow at the team alongside Kuroo who, as soon as he turn around, his face go in full concern towards you
“Did he try to do something chibi-chan?”
“Nothing much, just some flirting. It was just as a prevention”
“Fine, tell me if something happens”
You arrived at the bus and you went to sit next to Kenma, a big sigh came out making him chuckle and lay one more time on your shoulder “Too many people, and I still have more. I hate it here”
“But thanks to you we have a practice match with a top 4 school here. We have to be here tomorrow at 4 pm” says the coach
“Thank you Yn-chan, did you talk to the captain?” Kai asks you
“Not that much, I talked to their number 4 though, he was nice”
The bus starts towards the hotel that you are staying at. The guys are staying together in a room, while you have your own upstairs, near the coach and the assistant for prevention. Once you leave your things there, the coach, assistant coach, Kuroo and you go out to go to Shiratorizawa. The plan for it was quite similar, you going first to talk to them while they wait for a signal
“Hey! You’re the girl that complimented me on Nationals! Don’t remember your name though” you turn around to see the red hair boy with Ushijima next to him
“Hi, I’m Yn…you’re Tendou-san, right?”
“That’s me! Why do you have Nekoma on your jacket? Weren’t you with the foxes?”
“I was, but I had to move to Tokyo. I’m in Nekoma now”
“That’s cool! This is Wakatoshi-kun by the way” he says pointing at the ace, you nod at him and he does the same “What are you doing here then?”
“Ah yeah, Nekoma is on the town and I remembered that you were from here, so they want me to see if we could have a practice match together”
“Why do you have to do it? Shouldn’t the coach be on charge of that?” asks Ushijima with his deep voice
“Yeah, I accidentally mention that I talked to you, Tendou-san, so they thought that I had more chances or something like that”
“I would love to play with the kitty cats! But I don’t think I can help that much; our coach isn’t the nicest and we already have a lot of practice matches…You can always try though!”
“S-sure” you say with a slight nervousness, the previous coach seemed nice, so this new information caught you off guard “where do I go?”
“Oh yeah, follow us!” you wonder if Tendou could feel your nervous state, because he is trying to make you laugh on the way to the gym, a pretty successful try.
“And the other day the horses went wild…”
“You have horses here?! What kind of school are you?”
“I know right?! It’s so crazy that we have them!!” he makes an exaggerated face, going down to your height to whisper in your ear “Between you and me, this school is full of rich, rich people. I just enter here because of volleyball”
“Damn”
“TENDOU! USHIJIMA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? YOU GUYS ARE LATE! AND WHO IS THIS GIRL?” screams a small old man making you jump slightly, and to your surprise, Ushijima is the one to answer.
“I’m deeply sorry, coach. On our way here we found Yn-kun, she wanted to talk to you about a possibility of a practice match with us”
“I’ll talk to her, YOU TWO GO AND DO YOUR RUN!”
“Yes coach!” they say in unison. Before leaving Tendou goes down to whisper in your ear “Chibi-chan, wait for us outside the school. Good luck!”
“So, practice match? Please explain” asks the Shiratorizawa’s coach
“Ah…y-yeah” you stutter. You explain the same thing that you said before between stuttering words. He had an intense aura to him, making you feel like he’s judging everything that you do
“I do remember Inarizaki, they were a good team, but no matter how interesting the offer sounds I’ll have to decline it, we are full of practice matches already”
“It’s fine, we knew that they were low possibilities of it”
“However, if the opportunity arises when we’re free, I may consider it. Have a good day, miss”
“Thank you, you too sir” you turn around and leave. Despite not having the practice match, you were just glad to not be with the coach anymore. You go out of the school finding Kuroo standing outside the gates, arms cross on his chest
“Coach Nekomata told me to wait for you since it was getting late. How did it…wow there chibi-chan” he says after you suddenly hug him, putting your face on his chest. He laughs, putting his arms around your back
“The coach was terrifying, I felt the judgment on his eyes”
“That bad? Sounds like an asshole. Did he accept?”
“No, he said they were full of practice matches, but that he will consider it if they have time”
“Well, it was worth a try. You did good today chibi-chan, you talked to a lot of people for us, thanks. Let’s go to the bus”
“Chibi-chan! Did it work?” you hear Tendou from behind you, who just seem to arrived alongside Ushijima
“No, you’re too full-on practices”
“Aww I wanted to play with the kitty cats”
“It would have been nice to play with another school from Tokyo. Maybe next time” adds Ushijima
“We have to go, coach is gonna be pissed if we don’t arrive soon. See you soon, chibi!” Tendou says before jogging away, making you and Kuroo walk away from the school gates
You enter the bus while telling the story to the coach, who doesn’t seem surprised at all. Once over you sit next to Kuroo, laying your head on his shoulder while he pets your head.
You go to your room straight away when you arrive at the hotel, wanting to take a shower as soon as possible. After a relaxing bath, you went downstairs to buy a hot chocolate from the vending machine.
“Are you okay?” you hear a calm voice behind. You turn around only to find Kenma with a coin purse in his hand
“I’m fine, just tired, I talked to a lot of people today. Want me to buy you something?” You say while taking your drink out
“I got it, thanks. I don’t know how you do it, talk to so many new people” he tells you while putting the coins in
“A habit by now, I have no problem when people talk to me and it’s a few at a times, but it gets progressively harder the more I have to”
“I see…want to play some games together? Everyone else sucks here”
“Is this your way of telling me that you miss my company today?”
“Forget it” he blushes trying to look mad
“I’ll wait in my room, get your game” he nods despite denying the claims earlier. You go up to your room when you hear some not-so-quiet whispers talking to Kenma, who doesn’t say anything that you can hear, a few seconds later you hear a loud ‘Kenma! I told you to not play games so late!’, almost instantly the door of your room opens, Kenma entering with a bored expression.
“I don’t know if they wanted to be quiet or not, but they failed miserably” you chuckle
“I know, they get extra loud sometimes”
He sits beside you so you can start playing together, a comfortable silence falling between you two. After a while you start to get tired, so you turn off your console and move closer to Kenma to watch him play, however, he doesn’t seem super concentrated on it, not like he usually gets in those types of games at least.
“…I did miss you today” Kenma whispers out of nowhere, his face getting red. You look at him shocked by the sudden words before breaking into a soft smile, laying your head on his shoulder
“I missed you too, Ken”
+++
“Chibi-chan!! Have you seen Ken…Oh, found him” you hear, scrunching your face at the sudden noise that interrupted your sleep, finding a smirking Kuroo looking at you
Last night when you rested your head on Kenma's shoulder you fell asleep on him, and at some point of the night, Kenma had fallen too, his head being on top of yours while his game was still on. You felt him move at Kuroo scream, straightening himself while rubbing his eyes.
“So, this is why you didn’t come back, I wish I can blame you” Kuroo’s smirk grows bigger, which makes Kenma look at him with anger.
“Kuro, it’s too early. Shut up”
“How do you want me to shut up? You left the room yesterday and when I didn’t see you on your bed when I woke up, I looked around for you only to find you cuddling with chibi-chan. These are great news”
“Tetsu, kindly, shut the fuck up”
“Fine, fine I’ll stop. We’re getting ready for breakfast, remember that we have a practice match in the morning and afternoon” he says before leaving and closing the door
“Are you okay, Ken?” you ask looking at him, look that he returns with a tired face and a little smile.
“I’m fine, I don’t know when I fell asleep, is your neck okay?”
“It hurts a little, but I can deal with it. I’m going to the bathroom to get ready; you should go too”
“Yeah…” he says, but neither of you does an effort in moving, instead you stay there looking at each other for a few seconds before looking away, both of you blushing
“I’m…I’m gonna go now” you stand up, leaving the room shortly
You look at your reflection after washing your face, only to find some red tints on your cheeks. Kenma is gone when you arrive in your room, only leaving his PSP charging; while the action may be insignificant to others, you know that Kenma doesn’t just leave his things with people he doesn’t trust, making your heart beat even faster. You put your Nekoma jacket before going down, making sure to put his console on your bag.
“Morning chibi-chan”
“Hi Yaku, are you guys ready for the matches?” you ask sitting down next to him
“Yeah, we should be fine, all of us got a great night of sleep anyways” says Kuroo, eyes shifting between Kenma and you, much to the blonde dismay
++++
You are going to the first school, Ohgiminami High, to have the first practice match of the day. When you arrive there, saying hi to the other players and proceeding to warm up, you notice the strong aura of the other players, it was as if they were looking for a fight with everyone.
“I feel like they are judging me” says Kenma arriving to your side
“I think they do that to everyone. The captain doesn’t really fit with the rest, he looks nice”
“Do you know something about them, chibi-chan?”
“Not really, I barely found something about their team”
“Well, it’s always good to have a surprise”
The match started with no problem for the boys, they were putting in action all of the moves that they’ve been practicing. Both sets ended quickly and with a large gap between the schools, making the other team look at Nekoma with a mix of anger and confusion. They were barely even sweating.
“I thought they were going to be stronger seeing how those delinquents look, they barely gave me any problem” Yaku says while sitting next to you
“At least you practiced your moves on an actual match, that’s good”
“Yes, it was worth it, we know that they will work against Seijoh”
“I don’t think that Seijoh will be as easy as this one” adds Kenma putting his head on your shoulder “They have to be good to be in the top 4 schools”
“True, I want to dig Oikawa’s serve, they’re supposed to be impossible to dig” Yaku eyes light with determination
You go back to the hotel while waiting for the other match, sitting down in the common area Kuroo, Yaku and Kai talking; Inuoka and Shinayama are joking with Yamamoto; Kenma is playing and you’re on your phone beside him talking to your foxes about their training week when suddenly a message from a new number pops up
Tumblr media
“Who are you texting chibi?” Kuroo asks
“Tendou-san, the red hair dude from Shiratorizawa, just talk to me, he told me something about Seijoh”
“Who’s him? And why do you have his number?” asks Yamamoto crossing his arms
“A…Shiratorizawa player; anyways, he told me that their setter is the whole reason why Seijoh is considered good”
You arrive to Aoba Johsai at 3 so the guys can do warm ups and prepare properly. On the way there you were able to watch a match of them, so you are giving some directions to Yaku and Kuroo telling them the general idea of Oikawa serves. The match was a few minutes away, so you went to refill the bottles outside
“Hi there” someone makes you flinch
“Iwaizumi-san, hi. Filling the bottles again?”
“Yeah, it’s my turn this week”
“Don’t you have a manager? You guys are one of the top schools”
“The majority here are Oikawa fans, we don’t need screaming girls that only care about seeing him”
“Ahh I get it, it’s like my twins. Those two also had fans, but since I didn’t care about them in that way, they let me be their manager”
“That’s how you know how to handle Oikawa?”
“You could say so” you say finishing filling the bottles, when you look at him, you noticed that he still has a lot to refill, so you take some and help him out
“You really don’t have to do this”
“It’s fine, I want to help you” You refill the rest of his bottles in silence while he was putting them in the bag without dry them off “Don’t just put them in, you have to dry them a little Iwaizumi-san, otherwise it will get moldy inside”
“…True, sorry to make you do this” he says quite ashamed
“I told you it’s fine” you smile at him making him blush. While looking at him you decided to try to get more information, and even though you felt bad for misleading him, you knew it was the only way “Last time I saw a bit of your match, Oikawa-san had strong serves, but not a lot of control”
“Yeah, he has been practicing like crazy for it, he can control it better now”
“That’s cool, you also seem really strong too”
“A-ah thank you, I've been practicing a lot…We also got some first years now that are really good too”
“Ahh then I haven’t see them play, I’m sure they’re good if this is one of the best schools” you say in hopes he tells you something
“They are, but they still are first years, sometimes they get too overwhelmed by the pressure”
“Of course, it happens to everyone, especially if the rest of the team is as good as you guys, they probably feel like they have to maintain the good reputation. Done” you say putting the last bottle in, a small smile threatening to appear at the information
“Yeah…Let me carry your bag too”
“Don’t worry about it”
“You can’t be the only one helping, you know, I don’t have all these muscles for nothing” He takes the bag for his team and on the other shoulder he puts yours, starting walking towards the gym side “Are you really teaching Oikawa Spanish?”
“If he wants to, why not? It’s not a bad idea”
“I should give you my number then, Shittykawa can be really stupid sometimes, so if he bothers you or says something out of place you tell me and I beat some sense into him”
“Sounds like good plan. Thank you” you arrived to your side of the court, leaving the bag on the floor
“No problem, good luck today” he smiles awkwardly before going back to his side of the court
“How do you manage to become friends with so many people despite hating talking to new people?” Kuroo asks
“I don’t really know. By the way, he said something that can be useful, can you call the rest?”
“Guys! Nekoma meeting!” calls Kuroo, making the team arrive to where we are.
“I was talking to Iwazumi-san, the number 4, when filling the bottles. Apparently, Oikawa-san has been practicing his serves like crazy, so now he has more control over them and it's not just raw power, he's going to get a few points by serving but I'm sure that after a few tries you guys will be able to dig it no problem, specially Yaku-san”
“Thank you chibi-chan”
“He also said that they have a few first years in their line-up, and that they can get overwhelm during matches”
“It can be easy to pressure them to make mistakes, the more they fail to make a point, the more possibilities of them making mistakes” adds Kenma
“Exactly. If what Tendou-san said it’s true, then the spikers shouldn’t be much of a problem for you. They’re strong, no doubt, but none of them seem stronger than Bokuto-san. If you can dig balls of a top 5 ace at National level, then you probably are able to dig Seijoh’s without much problem, you guys specialize in floor defense after all” you say now
“We just need to get used to them, after that it should be easy. If Shiratorizawa only thinks that the setter is good, it must be for a reason”
“Tendou-san and Ushijima-san don’t seem like the type of look down onto teams that they know it can give them a good fight”
“You two are scary when it comes to planning strategies” says Yamamoto interrupting the two of you “Since when are you this sly Chibi?”
“She was a fox Tora, of course she’s sly” Kuroo laughs “helpful for us though, you getting information from outside the court helps us to create a better play”
“Thank God you came to our school, you and Kenma do work amazingly together” adds Kai
“Almost like you two were meant to be together” whispers Kuroo with his characteristic smirk on
“You never shut up, do you? The match is about to start, go go go” you push them slightly, trying to hide your flustered state
Both teams go to the court and say their greeting, officially starting the match. The first one to serve is the one and only Oikawa, and as expected, he does a powerful serve, marking the first point to Seijoh. By his second serve Yaku is able to be in the right spot, however he isn’t able to dig it properly, marking the second point in Seijoh favor. By the third one however, you notice that Yaku had his concentration face, being able to dig up the ball perfectly and passing it to Kenma. Since Kenma does the minimum movement when it comes to setting, it’s almost impossible for the blockers to guess where he is going to set, sending it to Fukunaga and scoring the point for Nekoma.
After a few points the score is in Nekoma's favor, winning 20 -18, which forces Seijoh to ask for their first time-out. You pass around their bottles and towels before sitting next to Kenma, who puts his head on your shoulder, before joining their meeting
“We seem to be handling them better than expected considering that they are the top 4 here. Not as hard as I thought they would be” says Yaku
“Chibi-chan want to say something?”
“I see what Tendou-san said. There are a few ways to win against you, either teams swarming you with attack after attack; or like Fukurodani, that has Bokuto-san overpower your defense when he's in the zone…”
“Seijoh doesn’t seem to have neither of those. They are a really good team, but they don’t have an exceptional offense outside of their captain serves” adds Kenma
“They also seem to lose a lot of their momentum when they can't rely on Oikawa-san serves to stock up points or at least break the formation, but then again, serve reception is your speciality”
“Besides their blockers fall a lot with Kenma’s subtle faints, specially that first year” adds Kuroo
“Oikawa-san is totally different from Tsumu” you mutter while looking at the other setter “Oikawa-san makes them as good as they can be, which is not THAT good; Tsumu will give them a boost and make them stronger than they are. Fascinating really”
“We should continue with the blocks so the floor defense can get fully use to them, after that let’s change into a more offensive blocking to see how they do” says Kenma
The whistle sounds, meaning that they have to go back to court. Seijoh also seems to be a really analytical team, so it wouldn’t be surprising that they notice some of the weak points of Nekoma. The first set ends up going to Nekoma by a small margin of points.
The second set starts with a lot more people watching now, majority screaming for Oikawa’s attention, you had forgotten the fan girl screams during practice. Seijoh seems to be trying to break Nekoma's formation by using more faints than before, it works at first, but after a few of those the guys are able to adapt to their plays once again, making them visibly frustrated. After Kuroo blocks Iwaizumi spike perfectly and Kenma does a setter dump after, you noticed that Oikawa was looking at Kenma with a mix of confusion, frustration and annoyance. You can understand why though, Oikawa is definitely more athletic than Kenma, probably has practiced a lot more, and is probably way more passionate when it comes to volleyball; and yet, Kenma was giving him a hard time.
The second set also goes to Nekoma, much to everyone in the gym surprise, this time by a point of difference after a long deuce. The teams now go to the opposite team coach to hear some objective critique, coach Nekomata congratulates them for having an excellent game, while you stay in the side line like always.
“Did you help them?” asks Oikawa before leaving, Iwaizumi staying with him
“Of course, I’m their manager, that’s my job”
“It doesn’t make any sense, they weren’t any stronger than Shiratorizawa; the setter isn’t outstanding, the ace isn’t exceptionally strong, and Nekoma isn’t particularly well known, even in Tokyo...”
“Maybe you guys looked down to us a lot more than you should. My cats may not be the flashiest team out there, but that doesn’t make them bad” you say annoyed
“I didn’t mean it like that…I…”
“Trashy-kawa, the coach is waiting, move your ass” Iwaizumi pushes him out of the way “sorry, he hates losing and gets really petty”
“It’s fine, but I’m not letting anyone talk trash about my boys again”
“I’ll hit some sense into him, don’t worry”
The guys come back to where you are, Kenma immediately putting his head on the crock of your neck, taking your hand to his head so you can play with his hair. Since the team was used to this sight, they act like nothing is happening.
“So tired” he mumbles
“You did amazing Ken”
“What made you so mad chibi-chan? Your eyes were scary” asks Yaku
“Oikawa-san basically putting you down”
“Awww you defended us!”
“Of course I did” you roll your eyes while still playing with Kenma’s head
“Remember me to not make you angry, you’re scary”
The guys continue talking while, for the first time ever, you feel Kenma arms go around your waist slowly, hugging you lightly and with a little hesitation. You try to not react too much, knowing that he could get shy if you say something, but it's impossible to stop your heart from beating like crazy; after all, he isn’t fond of skinship, so this was rare.
Sadly, you had to move away since you had to organize the things and they wanted to fresh up a little before leaving. Before he goes to the bathroom, you notice a big blush on his cheeks, which just deepens when Kuroo got closer to him to say something. After packing everything you were writing down the results of this match and also some notes about Seijoh and Nekoma plays when you suddenly felt a tap on your shoulder.
“Ehh…sorry for what I said earlier about your team, I was annoyed about loosing” Oikawa says regretfully
“Do you actually mean the apology? Or you just don’t want me cancel your Spanish classes?”
“Both really, Iwa-chan said that I acted like a douchebag, which I did, and I also want you to help me…please?”
“You do it again and I am stopping the classes; and that goes for all my friends, my cats, my foxes and my owls. Got it?”
“Yes ma’am. Here’s my number so you tell me when to start the tutoring, and Iwa-chan put his too just in case. Thanks for helping me, really chibi-chan” says sincerely
“It’s fine, don’t worry”
“Yn-chan, everything ready?” asks the coach
“I need to take the bag with the bottles and I’m done coach”
“Ok, let’s wait in the bus then”
“Sure” you take the bag and said goodbye to Oikawa before walking towards the door, saying goodbye to Iwaizumi right before going out. The team starts arriving to the bus shortly, everyone going to their sits. After arriving to the hotel and eating some dinner together, Kenma goes to your room just like the day before.
“Yn…Thank you” he says suddenly, making you lift up your head from his shoulder
“Eh? Why?”
“Everything really, you help and cheer for us however you can, you’re super nice and comfortable to be around too” he pauses his game, something rare on him, so he can look at you with a smile “I’m glad you came to Nekoma and became our manager”
“I’m glad that I chose Nekoma too” you smile too, feeling your heartbeat race as you put your head back in his shoulder comfortably

How’d the room get this bad?
The current state of your bedroom is… messy, to say the least. Toward the end of the semester, you became too busy cramming for finals to bother taking care of your room. It seemed like a low priority at the time, and as the dishes, clothes, and misplaced nick-nacks slowly accumulated, it was easy to not realize how messy the room was getting. But now that the semester is over and you finally have a break, the unorganized state of the room has caught up with you.
Now, you’re sitting in the middle of your floor, piles of clothes scattered around you. It’s unclear which piles are dirty and which are clean, you lost track of that a few minutes ago, so you start piling them all into a basket to wash.
“You don’t have to completely ignore me, you know?”
Tendou, who is currently sitting on your bare bed, simply sighs as he flips the page of the comic he’s reading.
Earlier today, you asked him to come sit with you while you cleaned your room— assuming that having another person there would make you more apt to clean. The plan is working well enough, the pile of mugs that had taken over your nightstand have been moved to the kitchen and there is a tightly compacted trash bag by your door. The only problem is that Tendou hasn’t acknowledged you since the moment he sat on your bed (aside from when you had him get up so you could take off the sheets). You’ve made multiple attempts to get him to talk to you but he hasn’t budged one bit.
“Like, really,” you say, finally filling up the laundry basket, “I actually might work faster if you talked to me because now I’m trying harder to have a conversation than I’m trying to clean.”
He just sighs again, lying down on his back.
You huff, glaring at him. In retrospect, you should’ve known that he would pull something like this. You bring the basket of clothes down the hall to wash, deciding to just muscle through the rest of the cleaning.
After two hours, the room was finally pristine: The bed was made, the clothes put away, the floor vacuumed, and the shelves organized and dusted. It may be nighttime now, but at least you can go to bed tonight knowing that you’ve accomplished something. You decide to light a candle as the cherry on top of your clean room.
“Not gonna lie, I didn’t think you were actually going to finish this today,” Tendou finally says, setting down his comic. You snort at his comment.
“Well yeah, if you were going to ignore me until I was done, I had some incentive to finish cleaning.”
“That was the plan," he shrugged. "Also, I thought the other day you said I talked too much?”
You lay next to him on the bed, draping an arm over his midsection. “You know I was teasing, you always make me happy when you talk to me. I love hearing you talk.”
“Oh yeah?” He asks.
“Yep,” you respond, “but not right now. Now I want to sleep.”
“Are you going to release me so you can sleep, then?”
“Nope,” you say, already starting to doze off, “you’re staying right here.”
Tendou watched you, waiting a few minutes to make sure you were actually asleep. He gently peeled your arm off of him, standing up. He pulls your blanket over you and turns off the light. Before getting back into bed, he makes sure to blow out the candle you lit. He shakes his head, silently laughing to himself.
"Can't believe they're trying to start a fire."

Welcome To my blog
Tumblr media
I'm Collin, I'm 18, but I'll be turning 19 in May.
just your regular emo, weeb chick.
I update this post anytime i finish a draft
I refuse to interact with Minors and ageless blogs because I don't feel comfortable interacting with these types of blogs they will be blocked as well, my old content may not have mentioned "minors do not interact" but that doesn't mean interact with any of my content if you are one.
I consider minors as below 18
this is a blog about mostly anime, and I will eventually be writing fanfics, one-shots for many anime guys and girls requests are open, as well as brainrots 😝 I take fluff, smut, not big on angst but I will write angst for certain characters, for these guys, girls, and more.
There are characters from some of these below that I will only write platonic and fluff and maybe angst (depending on the character you choose) cuz I don't feel comfortable doing any smut for them cuz I do not see them as someone other than innocent

In Your Colours
Kuroo x f!reader. (no physical features mentioned, but feminine pronouns and terms used)
Soulmarks AU (Soulmarks appear when you touch someone who will have a strong bond with you, platonic as well as romantic. You can’t tell which it is when the mark appears, sometimes the meaning changes, marks can fade etc.)
You were 5 when you first met Ushijima. Your first soul mark, a purple flower on your inner arm where he’d pulled you up from the ground. It was unusual, they don’t usually occur within families except in exceptional cases, but your mother and “auntie” are pleased the two of you will get along so well. He tried to teach you volleyball. You sucked.
You were 13 when the accident happened and you moved in with your cousin, no other family left. Your piano filled future over, left hand broken so badly that even after healing it never moved the same way again.
You were 15 when you met Tendou. Reading manga in the corner of a classroom. You weren't afraid of him like other people, you talked manga and volleyball. He left a red question mark on your wrist where he’d pulled you along to look at his manga collection and you soon found yourself hoping that he was your true soulmate.
You started hanging around the volleyball club after school on days your club finished early or wasn't on, waiting for Toshi to walk home with you after some incidents with other kids.
You were 16 when they named you honorary assistant manager. Your club had been cancelled and you had been helping set up and distribute towels and water for weeks. You finally felt at home at school.
You were 16 when your heart was broken for the first time. You know Tendou and your cousin got along really well, thought their marks were those of close friendship, but then you walked in on Wakatoshi pushing Tendou up against the wall of the club room, their lips pressed together. You felt your heart shatter, but the mark didn’t fade, you were still best friends after all.
You were 17 when Semi decided he liked you. You had a few more titles by then, Tendou wrangler, Ushijima whisperer (the 2nd, Tendou insisted on being the first), mini mother and catch champion. It had been "face catch champion" for a while, but after one of Ushijimas stray balls nearly broke your nose you had swiftly improved your catching technique. It was practically a sixth sense now, the day you'd managed to block one with your hand without looking up from your issue of Shonen Jump applause had broken out. It was entirely luck but you weren't planning to tell them that. Semi didn’t leave a mark on you, but he was handsome and kind and wound up Tendou in the funniest ways. He didn’t comment when he caught you staring at the red haired middle blocker and you didn’t mention the way his eyes drifted to the vice captain (and on occasion their other setter). It might not have been an ideal relationship, but it was a balm that soothed your raw edges, for both of you you hoped. And he let you play keyboard while he played bass in his free time (you expected it to hurt more, that your playing was nowhere near the level it used to be with your scarred hand and lack of practice, but it felt good to play again and apparently you were still good enough to surprise Semi which was… nice.)
You were 17 the first time you really saw the two men who would change your life too. It was a volleyball camp of sorts, you were watching the team when you saw them. You thought you vaguely recognised the silver and black hair, probably from other matches you'd seen, but this was the first time you truly paid attention.  "Who are those two?" You called to a nearby person. "Bokuto and Kuroo, Furukodani and Nekoma captains. Why?" You grinned, burning the names into your memory. "No reason, just thought I recognised them." The other manager didn't look convinced but waved it off, leaving you to watch the players (and definitely not stare at the two captains while debating with yourself whether it was worth trying to exchange numbers with them. Did they even like girls? They seemed close, were they dating or just friends?). An alarmed shout of your name caught your attention, whirling towards the sound of your cousin's voice to see the ball flying towards you. Caught off guard and already a bit off balance, you slipped off the bench, landing on your back on the floor with the volleyball between your hands.  "Got it!" You yelled, dissolving into hysterical giggles. Semi was the first to your side, staring down at you as if you'd completely lost your mind. Perhaps you had. But shock tended to make you laugh, so it wasn't all your fault. Tendou arrived soon after with a sigh of "SemiSemi you're useless" as he took the ball from you and passed it over before wrapping an arm around you and hauling you to your feet. "Y/N are you okay?" Toshi was there, stoic as ever despite the worry that flickered in his eyes.  "I thought you'd stopped trying to break my nose Toshi?" You gave him a weak smile. "I'll be okay, just hurt my hands. And my pride." You glanced over to where the two captains had been, only to find them gone. Something in your heart sank as you realised it, and your face flushed at the idea you'd made a fool of yourself in front of them. "We will take you to the medic to get checked over. Your hands are…" He didn't need to finish, after they found out about the accident everyone worried about how fragile your hands were.
You were 18 when fate decided you should meet again. When Kuroo left a red mark the shape of an atom on your left shoulderblade, the familiar heat appearing as he tapped you to get your attention during a chemistry lab (one that you were struggling with, you had declared organic synthesis was your mortal enemy three weeks into the first semester). “Hey, aren’t you the girl Ushijima knocked out with a stray serve last summer?” You turn and narrow your eyes at him. “I caught it, Toshi hasn’t knocked me out with a serve for years. You must have been distracted by the owl, it was very impressive.” He barks out a frankly horrific hyena laugh and shakes his head. “I must have been, I could have sworn we saw you tumble backwards off the bench.” Your cheeks flush at that. “I still caught it.” It comes out a little petulant but you couldn’t care less. “And if you’re going to insult my catching abilities the least you could do is help me with this stupid reaction.” He’s still grinning that stupid sly grin, but he does help. And he keeps helping, the two of you work well together, he’s good at the synthesis while you have titres and analysis down to a fine art. You swear you see his whole face light up in delight the first time you laugh at one of his terrible science jokes, throwing one back at him without missing a beat, and you wonder for the second time in your life if maybe this soulmark is the one. There would be worse soulmates out there than Kuroo Tetsuro you reason.
You’re 19 when you move in with Kuroo and his housemates, your own too much for you to deal with and he’s heard enough of your complaints to side with you. It’s nice, purely platonic, but nice. Kenma is quiet and Daichi does an excellent job of keeping you all in line. Still, Kuroo flirts and you allow yourself to sink into the feeling that it could be more, how much you want it to be more. His dorky science jokes still made you laugh, but the laughter was accompanied by a fluttering in your chest.
You’re 20 the first time your cousin comes to visit you at uni, his hectic schedule in the pro leagues finally easing enough to allow him to visit. He brings Tendou and for the first time it doesn’t hurt at all. He approves of your housemates, recognising more than a few from competitions back in high school. His smile is genuine as he tells you how happy he is to see you smiling again. Temdou nods happily beside him, all the while throwing all kinds of questions at Kuroo. Still, they both seem satisfied when they leave, and Kuroo looks almost as proud as you’ve ever seen him.
You’re 21, waiting for your graduation ceremony, when you finally meet Kuroo’s partner in crime in person. You’ve spoken to him often over video chats when you’ve been in the room with Kuroo, but in person Bokuto really is something else. All energy and smiles. He doesn’t leave his mark on you, but all the same by the time the ceremony and afterparty held back at the house are over you’re firm friends and co-conspirators. You don’t realise at the time just how important Bokuto’s support will be in your life, but you’re glad to have it nonetheless.
You’re 25 and standing at the altar, trying to hold back your tears of joy as Kuroo Tetsuro repeats his vows. Heart fluttering in your chest as you think of how much things had changed since his confession weeks after graduation. In the audience you can see Tendou crying, Toshi sat beside him looking misty-eyed as your aunt clutches her tissues in her hand. Kenma sits as far away from the somehow smiling and sobbing Bokuto as possible, though his lips are turned up at the corners despite his attempts to seem unmoved. Your other former housemates are there as well, and you’re pretty sure half of the high school volleyball teams in Miyagi and Tokyo have tried to squeeze in there somewhere. When your lips finally meet Tetsuro’s for the first time as husband and wife you’re pretty sure the cheers from the room could be heard across Japan. Warmth bubbles up inside you as your heart finally feels complete.

(Under his wing) Part 1: The Prologue
Shiratorizawa's 3rd years x male reader (platonic)
I had this idea and I wanted to see if anyone else wrote it, but no one did, so I'm doing it myself 😭
This is my first fanfic so let me know if there's anything I can do to improve the story, enjoy!
.
.
.
Practice had ended. The Shiratorizawa boys volleyball club had just finished cleaning up the gym. It was supposed to be Tendou and Yamagata's job, but they somehow managed to convince everyone else to help. They had been silently walking to the dorms for a while until Goshiki said, "Tendou, I have a question for you and the other third years."
"What question might that be?" Tendou asked with an intrigued look on his face. The rest of the third years paid little attention. Everyone else paid no attention.
"What were your upperclassmen like?" asked Goshiki.
The third years started walking slower, looking a bit startled by the question. Now everyone was intrigued. The third years shared a look and Tendou replied, "If you really wanna know, follow us, it's a long story."
...
Most of the team still had homework to do, so they decided to skip the storytime session. Those who decided not to were now huddled in Tendou and Ushijima's dorm. Shirabu had wanted to skip, but Taichi persuaded him to stick around by promising him he'd pay the next time they got lunch. Aside from those two, there was Goshiki lounging on a bean bag and all of the third years sprawled around the two-person dorm.
"Alrighty," said Reon as he sat down, "make yourselves comfortable. Tendou is right, it is a long story."
"Before we start," Semi interjected as Tendou had opened his mouth, "Try to make it PG, I don't want our dear kohei's picking up on cursing."
*We're not babies,* Shirabu thought, but kept his mouth shut so Tendou could get to the story.
"Right," Tendou said with a sly smirk, "I'll try."
...
*Third person P.O.V.*
It was tryout day for the Shiratorizawa volleyball team. Coach Washijo had been reviewing the many first years who were trying out. He took notes when they played against the second years. As popular as the volleyball club was, Coach had been stricter than ever with accepting boys on the team. This year there were only three third years on the team.
"Anyone catching your eye, Tanji?" asked Shōhei. Shōhei Satō was the captain and one of the three third years on the team. His brother, Haruichi Satō was the co-captain and second of the three third years on the team. They were identical twins, having the same, muscular build and height. The only thing that wasn't identical was their hair. They both had mid-length, blonde, straight hair, but Haruichi had a black streak in the front.
"Stop calling me that or it's 40 extra laps," replied Coach. Shōhei just rolled his eyes. He knew him and his brother were Washijo's favorites. If anyone else talked to the coach like that, they'd be off the team.
"That one first year, Ushijima I think, he intrigues me," said Haruichi. "His spikes were pretty good."
"Yes, I'm thinking he'd be a good addition," Washijo replied. "His receives are acceptable for a first year as well."
"I think that most of the first years trying out are good," Shōhei interjected. "And Ushijima is better at receives than you, Haru."
"What! You're one to talk dipshi-"
"Cut it out, I'm trying to concentrate," scolded Washijo. "Most of the first years passed the interview part, but I'll be ruling out most from how I saw them play. From that, it looks like we'll be getting six new players. Their skills seem adequate enough."
Just as he finished talking, the door opened. On came the final third year, Kaori Hattori. He seemed less muscular than the twins, and he wasn't as tall. His hair was similar to theirs, but black instead of blonde. He was very quiet and kept to himself all the time. The twins, despite being on a team with him for so long, barely knew anything about him. Sure, people spoke about Kaori, but most of it was rumors.
"Ah, there you are, Hattori." said Washijo. We were just talking about the new first years that tried out today."
"Do you have a roster already picked out?" replied Kaori.
"Yes, it will be posted tomorrow. Now shoo, it's already 6:00 and I'm sure you boys have homework to do."
"Yes, sir." The third years replied.
...
"I wonder which first years are making it," says Shōhei. Haruichi shrugged. The twins are walking back to their dorm. After they left the office, Kaori immediately split paths with them, presumably going to his dorm room.
"Also, did you notice Hattori being less, y'know, Hattori?" said Shōhei.
"If you mean the fact that he actually talked to people today, yeah." replied Haruichi.
"Do y'think he's actually gonna make friends on this team? Only took him three years."
"Dude, this is Hattori we're talking about. I think he's really looking for someone to replace his reputation. I'd want someone else to take the fire if I was him."
"You really think so? I thought I saw a genuine smile on his face."
A silence fell between the two.
"Wanna watch a movie tonight?" asks Haruichi.
"Sure," replied Shōhei.
