Explain the basic: Shielding and Banishing
Tumblr media
Shielding and banishing are two of the most important things you have to learn before you start your journey as a witch. Both practices are essential for maintaining energetic boundaries and ensuring a safe environment for magical or spiritual work. used to protect oneself from negative energies, entities, or influences and to remove unwanted energies or entities from a space. Here's a breakdown of shielding and banishing in witchcraft:
Shielding:
Shielding involves creating a protective barrier around oneself, which acts as a defense against negative energies or influences. It helps maintain personal boundaries and prevents unwanted energies from affecting one's well-being. Common methods of shielding include:
Visualization: Visualizing a shield of white light, a protective bubble, or an impenetrable barrier around your body. This visualization can be accompanied by the intention of repelling negativity while allowing positive energies to flow.
Energy Manipulation: Drawing upon personal energy or universal energy to create a protective shield. This can involve using hand movements, gestures, or energy manipulation techniques to form and maintain the shield.
Use of Objects or Symbols: Carrying protective talismans, amulets, or symbols such as pentagrams, runes, or protective sigils that represent personal protection. These items can aid in maintaining the shield's strength.
Banishing:
Banishing refers to the act of removing negative energies, entities, or influences from a person, place, or space. It's a method used to cleanse and purify an area or oneself from unwanted energies. Common practices for banishing include:
Smudging [which is a closed practice]or Cleansing: Burning herbs like [sage, palo santo], or cedar to clear a space of negative energies. Using the smoke to cleanse and purify the environment.
Salt or Protective Circles: Sprinkling salt around a space or creating a protective circle by physically drawing or visualizing it to keep unwanted energies out or to contain them within the circle for removal.
Rituals and Spells: Performing rituals or casting spells specifically designed for banishing. This involves using candles, herbs, oils, and specific incantations to remove negative influences or energies.
Invocation of Higher Powers: Calling upon higher spiritual entities, deities, or guides associated with protection or cleansing to aid in banishing unwanted energies or entities.

How to Protect Yourself from Unwanted Spirits/Entities
Hi friends! 🤗🫶 right away I’m going to say if you’re getting into channeling of any kind, you need to learn to protect yourself from malicious, trickster or unwanted spirits/entities. Its absolutely necessary, not a choice. Our energies can easily be manipulated and used if we don’t protect ourselves! At the end of the day, I learned all of this through experience, but I am not a professional! Please do your research outside of this post.
Tumblr media
👎 Lets talk about what not to do 👎
Do not provoke, harass, or invite malicious spirits/entities, or spirits/entities you think you are aware of. Not only will this piss them off, but you are willingly allowing them to have control over your energy, mind and emotions. If you don’t know what is out there, do not provoke it.
Making friends with spirits/entities you haven’t vetted
Vetting is a necessary tool and practice to make sure what you’re talking to is consistent, real, reliable, and overall: safe. If you’re rushing into a spiritual connection without vetting it, you don’t know what you’re talking to and what it’s capable of. You also aren’t aware of its intentions towards you/others.
Ignoring intuition
Have ya’ll seen those horror movies where the main character ignores its intuition? Okay, well in a sense you NEVER ignore your intuition and gut feelings. Biggest mistake you can make is ignoring visuals, feelings, emotions, visceral responses in your body when talking to a spirit/entity. Pay attention to yourself and your intuitive responses. That’ll tell you enough.
Tumblr media
👍 Lets talk about what to do 👍
Cleansing, Banishing, and Warding
Do your research into these 3 methods. Cleansing removes any and ALL energy, including positive energy. After cleansing you want to fill your space with peace. This can be done with incense, singing bowls, crystals, spells, sigils, mantras, herbs, etc.
Think of cleansing as a way to remove any dirt and buildup that happened over time, any muck. You can’t get in properly if you don’t remove the muck.
Banishing is a stronger form of removing spirits/entities and unwanted energy. Involves a combination of movements or spells to remove the spirit/entity.
Warding is simpler in the way you create sigils to protect the space. Commonly used on windows, door openings, all corners of the bed. Cleanse first, do not ward yourself and the spirit/entity in the room with you. You can also use herbs to hang by door openings or entrances.
You can also use your voice! Use the power of your voice to command your spiritual boundaries. This can be done by saying “you have no access to my energy, body, or mind.”
The difference of all:
Cleansing clears energy.
Banishing drives spirit/entities out.
Warding prevents outside unwanted energy from coming in.
Do ask for help if you’re unsure
Reach out to someone experienced or understands this type of work, having their expertise will help greatly. Read books on spiritual protection to accumulate knowledge. Do your research. Always stay informed!
Cast a circle of protection before communicating with a spirit/entity
The circle is meant to help with creating a healthy distance between you and the spirit/entity. Always have one. Always close it. Do not leave the circle as that can break it, so make sure you have what you need in it. When done, break the circle and cleanse/ward if needed.
Call upon other Deities/Guides/Angels you trust for protection
The more backup the better.
Tumblr media
How to know if you are dealing with trickster spirits/malicious entities
Your intuition/bodily reactions to communicating with said spirit/entity
We all inherently communicate with the spirit world differently. Learn to trust how it comes to you. Whether that’s through visuals, feelings, emotions, bodily sensations, aroma, or all. For example, if your body is feeling exhausted, lethargic, and you know you just cleansed your space, the spirit/entity is pulling on your energy.
If you are experiencing visions of unwanted imagery, it may be how the spirit/entity is communicating to you. Pay attention to what it shows you and how you feel in response. If it’s showing you the images to scare you, ground yourself and close off the session. Cleanse again and ward.
If you’re experiencing sadness, anger or paranoia, and haven’t had that before the spirit session, or do not experience this on the daily, please close the session as the spirit/entity could be inducing these symptoms.
Your body will talk to you. Listen to it first before listening to something you don’t know about.
Inconsistent responses
If you ask the spirit/entity its age, and receive no answer, or different answer each time, it may be trying to mess with you. For example if it told you it was 22, and later said it was a child, either its a different spirit/entity completely, or its messing with you. Always VET to avoid getting in bed with trickster spirits/entities. If its story does not match what it originally said, be concerned.
Actively hurting you/harming you
If the spirit/entity is slamming doors, throwing things to get your attention, or is physically hurting you or others, it’s time to perform stronger rituals/spells to protect yourself. If you begin to experience insomnia after meeting the spirit/entity, or sleep disturbances, its time to cleanse and protect yourself. Sleep disturbances are very common with trickster spirits/entities, and its one way it to increase levels of fear/paranoia through sleep deprivation. Please be careful!
Not every spirit/entity will be malicious or have malicious intent, but it can be draining to deal with or experience. It’s why these methods are put into place to protect ourselves.
Best crystals I have used to help against spirits/entities:
🪻Amethyst calms and relaxes me if I’m encountering a difficult energy. It also creates a protective sheild around the user when interacting with spirits/entities or doing spirit work.
☁️ Clear Quartz amplifies the energy of other crystals, making them overpowered 👍 it is also protective and allows for better communication, and allows for “clear seeing.” Seeing through intentions, motives, and desires.
🖱️ Selenite is gentle and yet an amazing crystal for purifying energy. Anything negative and unwanted will transmute for peace and love.
🤍 Black Tourmaline is powerful and important for protection. It repels negative energy and grounds you, giving you stability.
🪻 Hematite grounds and protects as well, and absorbs negative energy and creates stability.
Thank ya’ll for reading. Please like comment and reblog so this reaches people! 🤗 remain safe & protected!

- A guide to lunar magick -
Today's topic is moon magick and how you can harness the moon's power to enhance your spiritual journey.
Tumblr media
As I delve into the various phases of the moon, we'll go over the symbolism, spells, and rituals associated with each, and hopefully offer a deeper understanding of how to align your craft with the moon's cycles. It's important to note that these symbolisms may vary among different crafts, so you might find it doesn't align with your personal practice, so work with it however it feels right for you.
New Moon The new moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle, positioned between the Earth and the Sun, appearing completely dark. It symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings and makes for a perfect time for personal growth and reflection. This phase is ideal for magical practices focused on personal transformation, intention-setting, releasing, healing, and anything to do with something new. Waxing Crescent Moon The waxing moon is associated with the growth and amplification of energy. It corresponds to the strengthening of intentions set during the New Moon, as desires begin to gather momentum. This time of the moon is also good for setting intentions, as well as harnessing the energy of growth, abundance, and positive change. First Quarter Moon Appears approximately 7 days after the new moon. During this phase, the moon is half-illuminated and marks a period characterized by facing obstacles, decision-making, and creating forward momentum. It's a good time for taking action on your intentions and moving forward with your plans, as well as building courage and drawing things in. Waxing Gibbous Moon During this phase, the moon's luminance gradually increases and marks a time for attraction and drawing things in, but more often for inner strength and motivation. It's a good time to work on refining your goals and strengthen your focus in various aspects of your life apart from the spiritual. Full Moon The full moon is regarded as a time of heightened energy and magic. It occurs about 15 days after the New Moon when it's centered between the Earth and the Sun. This phase is often said to bring in the strongest energies and is often associated with prosperity and fulfillment of intentions. Due to its heightened power during this phase, it's a good time for practicing any spell you have in mind, such as romantic rituals, abundance and prosperity spells, divination, protection and banishing, healing, etc. Waning Gibbous Moon The waning gibbous occurs after the full moon, and during this time, the moon's illumination gradually decreases. This phase is good for releasing negative energies and anything that no longer serves you as well as cleansing, divination, reflection, and breaking bad habits. Third Quarter Moon The third quarter moon appears in the lunar cycle between the full moon and the new moon. During this phase, the moon is illuminated to roughly half its capacity, presenting as a distinct half-moon shape. This moon's energy is associated with letting go of the past and focusing on reflection and renewal. It's a good time for banishing, protection and warding, and inner exploration including shadow work. It's also a good time to reconnect with spirit. Waning Crescent Moon This phase represents the final stages of release and introspection. It calls for the preparation of new beginnings and is a good time for intuitive work and shedding old skin before transitioning into the dark moon. The Dark Moon The dark moon occurs when the moon is completely concealed from sight for a few days before the first slight glimpse of the waxing phase and is not actually associated with the new moon. This is a good time to do banishings, hexes, cleansings, bindings, and any magical workings that are considered to be on the negative aspects.

It's Time for Samhain! (Oct 31- Nov 1)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What is Samhain? In the Celtic calendar, Samhain marks the end of summer and the harvest season, and the beginning of the dark, cold winter months. It falls opposite Beltane on May 1, which represents the beginning of spring and the life-filled growing season.
It’s believed that the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest on Samhain. Historically, people were worried that they would encounter ornery spirits if they ventured outside on Samhain night, so they dressed as ghosts or wore masks to disguise themselves. Folks would leave treats on their front porch or place an extra setting at the table to welcome any friendly spirits who stopped by. You can see how these Samhain rituals easily morphed into our modern-day version of trick-or-treating in costume.
Nighttime bonfires were another of the long-standing Samhain rituals - this one was thought to help combat the impending darkness of winter and the fearful chill that accompanied the idea of roaming spirits. Because the veil between living and dead is believed to be the thinnest on this night, Samhain is also a powerful night for divination and spellcasting by candlelight.
Usual Symbols of Samhain:
Ale or Mead
Pumpkins
Skulls
Besom or Broom
Beans
Cauldron
Bats
Keys
Squash
Pomegranate
Nuts
Apples and Cider
Bones
Herbs and Plants for Samhain:
Rosemary – Associated with remembrance and is needed during this season in taking time to honor the memories of our ancestors and other lost loved ones. Can be used in an incense blend and at ancestor altar
Fall Flowers – Includes flowers like marigolds and chrysanthemums. Are associated with protection and chrysanthemums come in handy with connecting to the spirit world
Apples (the fruit, branches and blossoms) – Is considered sacred to a lot of gods. A good apple harvest means that the gods have shown the community their favor. You can use apples in different rituals, especially divination
Pomegranates – Is associated with the realm of the underworld and helps with communication with the dead. It is also associated with fertility of the fall.
Squashes, Pumpkins and Gourds – Is associated with abundance and provides sustenance for your family when the fields become bare and covered in snow. Is linked to psychic awareness and development and protection.
Mugwort – Is associated with divination and dreaming. Using Mugwort baths or incenses in the rituals can focus on treating depression, especially with the seasons changing
Rowan Trees – The branches and berries are a way to keep evil spirits out of your house and are associated with good health. If you plant a tree near a grave, it will prevent the dead from rising.
Sage – Is associated with cleansing and grounding. Is a great incense to cleanse your home to bring in the new and out with the old
Hawthorn – Has been associated with the gateway between humans and the spirit world. Is also rumored to an area where you can see fairies.
Crystals for Samhain:
Amethyst – Aids in opening one’s third eye and is valuable to be able to see Samhain’s spirits around
Black Obsidian – Is great for grounding and protect from evil spirits. Can be used in scrying when speaking to deities and spirits of Samhain
Citrine – Is used to honor the sun. Aids in prosperity spells and carries joy
Black Tourmaline – Wards off unwanted spirits from your property and can be buried into the ground to protect from psychic attacks and spirit intrusion
Orange Calcite – Orange is a sacred color to Samhain. This stone is associated with one’s sacral chakra and can cleanse and align reproductive organs, sexuality and get creativity flowing
Bloodstone – Known to heal cardiovascular illness and disease. Can help with ancestry links and work
Spirit Quartz – Is great in helping communicate with the spirits of Samhain and releasing old and toxic habits
Lepidolite – Used to appease the fairies that roam during Samhain
Serpentine – Is associated with snakes and aids in remembering past lives. Loki seems to like this stone and may be great to use for him if you work with him during this season
Dragonstone – Dragons are guardians of the earth, spirits of place, and connect us to Mother Nature. Helps say goodbye to the old years and our old selves
Skull shaped Stones – Since skulls are symbols of Samhain, skull shaped stone can help with symbolism during this holiday. They represent the life-death-rebirth cycle, wisdom and our ancestors
Spells and Rituals:
A Samhain Tea (Apple and Hawthorn Berry)
1 apple, sliced
2 Tablespoon dried hawthorn berries (or 4 Tablespoons fresh)
1 cinnamon stick
A pinch of cloves
4 cups water
Honey, to taste (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a small stockpot.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
Strain the plant material from the tea, then transfer the tea into two mugs.
Enjoy one for yourself, and leave the other on your table or front porch to nourish any wandering spirits who may pass while the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest.
A Pumpkin Spell for Prosperity
A pumpkin
Some paint
Go to the pumpkin patch (or local store) and select a pumpkin. Or let the pumpkin choose you.
Bring it home and paint prosperity symbols on it – money signs, runes for prosperity or harvest glyphs (whatever means prosperity to you).
Then place by your front door to invite prosperous vibes into your home this Samhain season.
Bonfire Release Purification Spell
Paper
Pen
Source of fire (bonfire, fireplace, candle flame)
Gather your materials and sit by the fire.
Take a few minutes to just listen to the fire crackling.
Gaze into the flames and connect with this powerful element.
Next begin to think about what habit or person you are releasing this Samhain. Think about why you’re purifying your life from this thing or person.
Then write the habit or person down on the piece of paper.
Fold it away from you 3 times.
Hold it in your hands and allow all of the negative thoughts and energies inside of you to “drain” out of you and into the paper.
Then throw it in the fire and say,
“After this Samhain, never again. Never again. I release _________ from my life by the power of the Samhain fire. So, mote it be.”
How to Make a Samhain Altar
Beautiful autumn leaves or flowers that you collect on a nature walk
A candle
A mugwort bundle
A string of rowan beads
A bowl of apples or a small pumpkin
A hawthorn wand or bowl of freshly picked hawthorn berries
A picture of your ancestors
To make an altar, first find a corner of your home or a table surface where you can arrange a few treasures. You don’t need a ton of space. You could use the top of a dresser, the corner of your desk, an unused side table, etc.
After you’ve assembled your altar, spend some time sitting quietly in the space. Light the candle and/or mugwort wand, sip on a cup of Apple & Hawthorn Berry Tea and meditate on this energetically powerful day.
I could find specific written instructions for a crystal grid but I found a video!
Crystal Grid for Samhain
Let's get ready for Samhain and have a great and safe time!

Witchcraft and Self-Care: Nurturing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit
Witchcraft is not just a craft; it's a path that intertwines with our daily lives. Amid the spells and rituals, it's vital to remember that self-care is a cornerstone of our practice. By nurturing our minds, bodies, and spirits, we empower ourselves to be more effective witches and resilient individuals.
In this blog post, we'll delve into "Witchcraft and Self-Care: Nurturing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit," exploring the importance of self-care and suggesting rituals and practices to help you flourish on your magical journey.
🌟✨
1. Grounding and Centering 🌳🌌
Start your self-care journey with grounding and centering. Take a moment each day to connect with the Earth. Stand barefoot on the ground, feeling the energy of the Earth rise through you. Meditate, visualize roots extending from your body into the soil, anchoring you to the Earth's nurturing energy.
2. Daily Affirmations 🧘‍♀️🌟
Affirmations are powerful tools for nurturing a positive mindset. Each morning, recite affirmations that align with your intentions. These affirmations reinforce your sense of self-worth, strength, and resilience. For example, "I am powerful," "I am loved," or "I am in control of my destiny."
3. Bath Rituals 🛁🌸
A soothing bath can work wonders for your well-being. Infuse your bathwater with Epsom salt, lavender, or rose petals. As you soak, visualize any stress or negativity melting away, leaving you refreshed and renewed. This simple practice can be profoundly healing.
4. Moon Meditation 🌕🧘‍♂️
Harness the energy of the moon to nurture your spirit. During the Full Moon, find a quiet space outdoors, and meditate beneath its radiant glow. Visualize the moon's energy filling you with light, cleansing away any emotional burdens, and empowering you for the month ahead.
5. Herbal Tea Ritual ☕🌿
Create a mindful tea ritual using your favorite herbs. As you brew and sip your tea, focus on the sensations and flavors. Allow the warmth of the tea to envelop you, bringing comfort and serenity. This practice can also enhance your connection with herbal magic.
6. Journaling 📓🖋️
Keep a magical journal to record your thoughts, experiences, and spellwork. Journaling is not only cathartic but also a powerful way to track your progress, uncover patterns, and celebrate your successes. Use it as a tool for self-reflection and growth.
7. Self-Compassion 💖🌈
Practice self-compassion in your daily life. Be gentle with yourself, just as you would with a close friend. Understand that setbacks are part of growth, and mistakes are opportunities to learn. By nurturing self-compassion, you'll foster resilience and inner strength.
🌟✨
As witches, our practice is a reflection of our inner and outer worlds. By prioritizing self-care, we infuse our craft with authenticity and power. Remember that you are the most important tool in your magical toolkit, and by nurturing your mind, body, and spirit, you become a beacon of light in the world.
So, let's embrace self-care as an essential aspect of witchcraft. By nurturing ourselves, we empower our magic and cultivate a deeper connection with the universe.
🌿🌟✨

🤍a simple personal cleansing spell 🤍🎧
Feeling a bit weighed down by negative vibes lately? It's time to treat yourself to a personal cleansing spell that'll leave you feeling refreshed and renewed from the inside out. Here's a gentle ritual to get you started:
Tumblr media
🌸 Set the Scene: Find a quiet, peaceful space where you can be alone with your thoughts. Light a candle or some incense to create a soothing atmosphere. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself and let go of any tension.
🔮 Connect with Your Intentions: Close your eyes and focus on what you want to release from your life—whether it's stress, self-doubt, or anything else holding you back. Visualize these negative energies as dark clouds surrounding you.
✨ Embrace the Power of Water: Fill a bowl with warm water and add a handful of sea salt or a few drops of your favorite cleansing essential oil. This mixture symbolizes purification and renewal.
🌊 Cleanse Away Negativity: Dip your fingertips into the water and gently splash it over your face, allowing the purifying energy to wash away any negativity or stagnant energy. As you do this, repeat a simple affirmation like, "I release what no longer serves me and welcome in positivity and light."
🌿 Ground and Reconnect: After cleansing, take a moment to ground yourself by placing your hands on the earth or simply feeling the support of the ground beneath you. Visualize roots growing from your feet, anchoring you firmly to the earth's energy.
❤️ Seal in Positivity: Finish your ritual by anointing yourself with a few drops of cleansing oil or moisturizer, focusing on areas like your wrists, temples, and heart. As you do this, affirm your commitment to self-love and inner peace.
💫 Express Gratitude: Take a moment to thank yourself for taking the time to nurture your mind, body, and spirit. Feel gratitude for the cleansing energy that now surrounds you.
Remember, personal cleansing spells are all about honoring your own journey and intuition. Trust yourself and let the magic flow! 💖🔮

February’s full Moon is a “Micromoon” this year. Think of this term as the opposite of a “Supermoon.” It simply means that the full Moon is at its farthest point from Earth (not the nearest point).
The explanation behind February’s full Moon name is a fairly straightforward one: it’s known as the Snow Moon due to the typically heavy snowfall that occurs in February. On average, February is the United States’ snowiest month, according to data from the National Weather Service. In the 1760s, Captain Jonathan Carver, who had visited with the Naudowessie(Dakota), wrote that the name used for this period was the Snow Moon, “because more snow commonly falls during this month than any other in the winter.”

Imbolc is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of spring. Most commonly it is held on January 31 – February 1, or halfway between the winter solstice & the spring equinox. The holiday is a festival of the hearth, home, a celebration of the lengthening days & the early signs of spring.
The word "imbolc" means "in the belly" and refers to the pregnancy of ewes at this time of year. The term "oimelc" means ewe's milk. Around this time of year, many herd animals give birth to their first offspring of the year or are heavily pregnant & as a result, they are producing milk. This creation of life’s milk is a part of the symbolic hope for spring.
Imbolc is mentioned in some of the earliest Irish literature and it is associated with important events in Irish mythology. It has been suggested that it was originally a pagan festival associated with the goddess Brigid and that it was Christianized as a festival of Saint Brigid, who herself is thought to be a Christianization of the goddess.
Some use Imbolc to celebrate the longer days which herald the return of Spring & The Goddess's recovery from giving birth to The Sun (The God) at Yule. The God & The Goddess are children symbolizing new life, new beginnings & new resurrections.
Related festivals:
• Groundhog Day-  Is a tradition observed in the United States & Canada on February 2 of every year. It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day & sees its shadow, it will retreat to its den & winter will go on for six more weeks; if it does not see its shadow, spring will arrive early.
While the tradition remains popular in the 21st century, studies have found no consistent association between a groundhog seeing its shadow & the subsequent arrival time of spring-like weather.
•St. Brigid's Day- 1 February. It was originally Imbolc, the first day of spring in Irish tradition. Because Saint Brigid has been theorised as linked to the goddess Brigid, some associate the festival of Imbolc with the goddess. St. Brigid is the patroness saint (or 'mother saint') of Ireland. She is patroness of many things, including poetry, learning, healing, protection, blacksmithing, livestock & dairy production. In her honour, a perpetual fire was kept burning at Kildare for centuries.
A recent campaign successfully established her feast day as a national holiday in 2023.
• Chinese New Year- (February 10th) the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. In Chinese, the festival is commonly referred to as the Spring Festival,- marking the end of winter and the beginning of the spring season. Observances traditionally take place from Chinese New Year's Eve, the evening preceding the first day of the year, to the Lantern Festival, held on the 15th day of the year. The first day of Chinese New Year begins on the new moon that appears between January 21st & February 20th.
The Chinese New Year is associated with several myths and customs. The festival was traditionally a time to honour deities as well as ancestors. Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the New Year vary widely & the evening preceding the New Year's Day is frequently regarded as an occasion for Chinese families to gather for the annual reunion dinner.
It is also a tradition for every family to thoroughly clean their house, in order to sweep away any ill fortune & to make way for incoming good luck. Another custom is the decoration of windows & doors with red paper-cuts and couplets. Popular themes among these paper-cuts and couplets include good fortune or happiness, wealth & longevity. Other activities include lighting firecrackers  & giving money in red envelopes.
•  Candlemas- is a Christian feast day on February 2nd commemorating the presentation of Jesus at the Temple. It is based upon the account of the presentation of Jesus in Luke 2:22-40.
While it is customary for Christians in some countries to remove their Christmas decorations on Twelfth Night, those in other Christian countries historically remove them after Candlemas. On Candlemas, many Christians also take their candles to their local church, where they are blessed and then used for the rest of the year.
•Setsubun- (February 3rd) Is the day before the beginning of spring in the old calendar in Japan. The name literally means 'seasonal division', referring to the day just before the first day of spring.
Both Setsubun & Risshun are celebrated yearly as part of the Spring Festival (Haru matsuri ) in Japan. In its association with the Lunar New Year, Setsubun, though not the official New Year, was thought of as similar in its ritual & cultural associations of 'cleansing' the previous year as the beginning of the new season of spring. Setsubun was accompanied by a number of rituals & traditions held at various levels to drive away the previous year's bad fortunes & evil spirits for the year to come.
Other Celebrations:
• Lupercalia-
In ancient Rome, this festival was conducted annually on February 13th through 15th under the superintendence of a corporation of priests called Luperci. The origins of the festival are obscure, although the likely derivation of its name from lupus (Latin: “wolf”) has variously suggested connection with an ancient deity who protected herds from wolves and with the legendary she-wolf who nursed Romulus and Remus. As a fertility rite, the festival is also associated with the god Faunus.
to purify the city, promoting health & fertility.
Each Lupercalia began with the sacrifice by the Luperci of goats and a dog, after which two of the Luperci were led to the altar, their foreheads were touched with a bloody knife & the blood was wiped off with wool dipped in milk; the ritual required that the two young men laugh. The sacrificial feast followed, after which the Luperci cut thongs from the skins of the sacrificial animals & ran in two bands around the Palatine hill, striking with the thongs at any woman who came near them. A blow from the thong was supposed to render a woman fertile.
In 494 CE the Christian church under Pope Gelasius I forbade participation in the festival. Tradition holds that he appropriated the form of the rite as the Feast of the Purification (Candlemas), celebrated on February 2, but it is likely that the Christian feast was established in the previous century. It has also been alternately suggested that Pope Gelasius I replaced Lupercalia with St. Valentine’s Day, celebrated on February 14th, but the origin of that holiday was likely much later.

The Magickal Properties of Carrier/Base Oils
In ancient times, our ancestors revered the power of oils, utilizing them in sacred ceremonies, rituals, and magickal workings that spanned centuries. Today, we have the privilege of carrying on this tradition by creating our own blends using the same flora & fauna that have been cherished for millennia. The practice of crafting sacred oils connects us to our roots, offering a meaningful way to honor the past while enriching our present-day experiences.
Carrier/base oils play a crucial role in the world of magick and holistic practices. These oils, derived from plants, seeds, and animal fats, are believed to possess unique energetic properties that can enhance the potency of essential oils and other magickal ingredients we add to them. Whether used in aromatherapy, massage, ritual work, or spell work the choice of carrier oil is significant, as each oil is associated with specific magickal attributes, such as grounding, protection, or amplification of intention. Understanding the magickal properties of carrier oils can empower practitioners to create custom blends that resonate with their intentions and desired outcomes, adding an extra layer of enchantment to their craft.

ENERGY TRANSMITTING SPELL.
Tumblr media
has someone sent you negative energy? talking shit about you? gossiping about you? Sending you the evil eye? speaking negatively on your name? sending you all this nasty energy?
if yes then this is the perfect spell for you and let me explain. You can use this free energy that others are sending you to your advantage! rather than making these people stop talking negative about you, use this energy and transform it into more abundance for yourself, to give yourself proclaimed power, and more self love for you! So that anytime someone speaks negatively on your name make it so you get more self love and abundance for yourself. instead of using the evil eye to deflect this negative energy let’s make this energy beneficial for you. And here’s how ↓ ↓ ↓
(DISCLAIMER: please, please do a protection spell before you do this spell. Or atleast perfect protection magick before you do this)
STEPS FOR THIS SPELL:
First cleanse your tools and ingredients and ask spirit guides/ancestor for protection and assistance.
grab a piece of paper and write “may any negative energy, evil eye, gossiping or jealousy spoken on my name or surrounding my name be transmutted into luck, abundance, power, self love, and confidence for myself, bringing me closer to balance, success and serenity.”
Write your full name on the back of the paper and fold the paper towards you
Put the paper in a jar, or any container that can close. (I used an old jewelry box for this spell which can work too)
Now Add the following ingredients;
⁃ roses; to fuel me with self love and confidence anytime someone speaks on my name with ill intentions
⁃ nutmeg; to bring me luck and abundance anytime someone speaks on my name with ill intentions
⁃ basil; to purify the negative energy spoken on my name and to transmute it into luck, abundance, power, self love, and confidence for myself
⁃ Eucalyptus oil; to purify the negative energy spoken on my name and to transmute it into luck, abundance, power, self love, and confidence for myself
⁃ Oregano leaves; to bring me luck and abundance anytime someone speaks on my name with ill intentions
⁃ Salt; to purify that negative energy sent towards me and to turn that energy into luck, abundance, power, self love, and confidence for myself
⁃ Tigers eye; to change that negative energy into positive energy for myself
⁃ Clear quartz; to absorb the negative energy sent towards me or spoken on my name and transmute it into luck, abundance, power, self love, and confidence for myself
Seal the jar/container with white wax for purification
LASTLY:
Thank the spirit of the herbs and crystals, and thank your spirit guides and ancestors!
Focus on intentions with the jar “to trap any negative energy, evil eye, or gossip sent my way and spoken on my name, to purify the energy and send it back out to me into luck, abundance, power, self love, and confidence for myself”
now that your done, you can let those people talk shit on your name because simultaneously your becoming more abundant, powerful, and beautiful. You’re leveling up while they’re leveling down. 🤭 I’ve created this spell and did it a month ago and safe to say that this definitely works.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ILL BE ANSWERING THEM IN THE COMMENTS. HAVE FUN CASTING 💋🕯️
