Prompt: Domestic Life
@gwynrielweeksofficial
Tumblr media
Gwyn, sitting on Azriel’s lap while he feeds her grapes: You’re so sweet.
Azriel: Because you’re the best.
Gwyn: No, you’re the best!
Azriel: No, you are! *Tickling Gwyn’s side, causing her to giggle*
Sitting across the table, Cassian is shovelling porridge into his mouth while Nesta scowls at the happy couple.
Nesta: It’s all love and kisses now. Give it six months!

I want to remind everyone that when I pulled out the receipts from the worldbank website showing that Poland had ridiculous low pregnancy death stats while having abortion policies stricter than the USA, that pro choicer I was interacting with said that it was because..... *brace yourselves* 🌻"Polish women were healthier"☺️
By the same logic, I do hope we pro lifers are allowed to argue the reason women die of childbirth is because they "aren't healthy" to brush it off and totally deflect from this reality 🙃 deal?

It is not right for democratic societies to vote on the fundamental rights of unpopular minorities. There is no more unpopular minority today than preborn Americans.
Abortion is not about the “will of the people,” it’s about respecting the human right that we are endowed with by our creator. Our rights come from God, not the government. Those rights do not change because of the circumstances of our conception.

Rhys: I dislike Nesta because she causes the one I love most harm. She neglected and verbally abused Feyre for years and still takes no accountability for it. Still, because Feyre loves Nesta I will put up with her, offer her jobs, when she denies them I will still provide for her.
Nesta: I know Rhys is a good mate to Feyre, a just ruler, puts everyone before himself, fights like hell to defend his people… but I just don’t like him.
Me: 👁️👄👁️

I watched the BC movie with friends and I have a lot of thoughts about it. I loved the animations, the voice actors, the fights, the teamworks. It’s a must watch movie for every Black Clover fan.
However the movie also reminded me why I think Clover Kingdom is a shitty hellhole of a place with no hope for changing and that Julius is an incomptent Wizard King and the Black Bulls should’ve been vigilantes or anti-heroes or their own self-proclaimed squad untied to the system that is built to discriminate them.
I like this series but it’s full of hypocrisy and pro-authority agenda that were only ever truly highlighted by Zora before he also ended up indirectly serving it.
(TW: rant in tags).

I have a firm policy of never engaging on tumblr with anyone who argues against a pro-life stance. If they ask questions in good faith, sure. But if they attack, I don't bother. Their minds are not going to be changed, and there's no sense in engaging with someone who's hostile when it's just going to cause further animosity on both sides.
But the one post I'm very, very tempted to bend my rules on is the one celebrating the babies who are going to live. I was waiting and waiting for someone to sneer about "the women whose lives are going to be worse" and lo and behold, it happened. These people see a celebration of life and all they can see is poverty and hopelessness. They see women "being forced" to give birth and "unwanted children" crowding the planet. And that's such an utterly hopeless worldview, one that views people as problems rather than gifts, one that views us as so helpless to correct society's ills that it's better not to be born at all. That's such a horrible way to live. I wish I could give these people hope, help them find courage and purpose in the idea that helping as many people as possible to live good, happy lives is better than giving up and just slaughtering the inconvenient. But these people are so entrenched in their gloom that any arguments will fall on deaf ears, and I wish it could be different.
There's something C.S. Lewis said about how each era of history has its dominant virtues and vices, certain virtues that are prized and prevalent while others are lacking. This is reminding me yet again how our era is profoundly lacking in courage. When we see problems, we don't see it as a call to action, as a noble quest to undertake. We don't see suffering as heroic action that will make us better and stronger; we just see that it will cause us pain and back away from it. We view suffering as such a horrifying thing that, rather than helping to relieve it in others, plenty of people advocate for the killing of children so that (after their painful death by poisoning or dismemberment) they don't have to suffer at all. In their minds, there's so little hope of relieving suffering that we shouldn't even try. We should just give up. We have no courage because we have no hope.
We need to have hope. We need to have courage. And we need to fight. For women and their babies. Relieving their suffering and letting them live. An imperfect world is only going to become better if we have the courage to work toward it, and the hope that our work will do something worthwhile. A world doesn't have to be perfect to be worth living in. Everyone should have the chance to live in it. Even the poor. Even the unwanted. And we should have the courage to help make it better for everyone.
