I would absolutely DIE for a fanfic of a sick Robin getting caught in the rain on her bike on the way to work. Who pulls up next to her but Eddie Munson, who then gives her a lift? Enter Steve Harrington. A sick, cold Robin being taken care of by the two sweetest gays in all of the land. ♥️
Awww, ask and ye shall receive! Here’s a short little something something. (Set in canon universe)
Biking to work this morning was a dumb idea to start with. Biking to work when it was raining was even worse. Of course, this morning she didn’t know it was going to rain, but those were just the cards she’d been dealt today.
Keeping one hand to steady the bike, she lifted the other to whisk droplets of water out of her eyes. Her bangs were fully plastered to her head and all of her clothes were damp.
“This is so stupid.” She mumbled to herself.
She still had about three miles to go when a van started to slow down alongside her. The window rolled down slowly to reveal one Eddie Munson.
“Robin! Hey! Where are you going?”
“Trying to go home!” She called over the sound of rain hitting concrete.
“Well stop biking and hop in! I’ll give you a lift!”
Eddie pulled over and helped load her bike into the back of the van. He thankfully kept some extra towels in the back too. He lay one on the passenger seat and offered another to his friend, who wrapped it around herself.
Once they were both back in the car, he cranked up the heater, noticing Robin shivering.
“Thanks for this.”
“Don’t mention it. Why are you biking home in a storm??”
“Car had a flat. Figured biking would just be faster than trying to fix it I guess.”
“Well sheesh Birdie, when the storm lightens up I’ll fix your flat for you.”
She didn’t answer, at first he thought maybe she was ignoring him, but when he looked over, her eyes were fluttering shut. She ducked down into the towel he’d given her.
“h’ch’IEW! snff tsch’EW!” She sniffled into the towel and looked at him guiltily, “I’ll wash this don’t worry…”
“Bless you! You getting sick?”
She shrugged, “Maybe? I dunno… ich’iEW!”
Eddie chuckled, “That sounds like a yes to me.”
Keeping an eye on the road, he reached over and felt her forehead.
“What are you doing?” She asked.
“I’m - checking for a fever?? I’ve seen Steve do it a few times.”
“What’s the verdict then?”
“I uh… I dunno I’ve never tried it before actually.”
They both laughed as the van pulled up to Eddie’s trailer.
“I’m just gonna grab the tools I need to fix your flat. But while we’re here, you should change into som dry clothes. You can borrow some of mine.”
She seemed hesitant but nodded, Eddie using his jacket as an umbrella for them both as they jogged up the steps to the trailer.
Once inside, Robin looked around while Eddie disappeared to his room. He came back with a pair of sweatpants, socks, an old tee shirt and a hoodie. He held them out to her, “The bathrooms just here if you want to change.”
“Thanks Eddie.” She smiled.
Making her way to the bathroom, she closed the door, she took the towel that was around her and dried off her hair a little bit.
Eddie’s sweatpants were too big for her, so she folded the waist over a few times until it sat just right. She had to admit the tee shirt and hoodie were very cozy - also too big - but she didn’t mind.
When she emerged again, Steve was there too. He must have come over from his house since it was his off day today.
“Hey Robs, Eddie said you’re sick are you alright?”
He approached her as she stared at him unsure of what to say.
“Im okay uh… he picked me up and it was raining and uh… h’chEW! snfSNF ch’IEW!!”
“She’s been doing that a lot.” Eddie called out from the kitchen where he was leaned against the counter eating an apple.
Steve frowned and turned back to Robin, placing a gentle hand to her forehead.
“You guys are snf so domestic…” she teased.
Steve rolled his eyes, “Well you don’t feel warm, that’s good.”
Eddie had taken another bite of the apple and chimed in, “Yeah, what he said!”
Steve looked confused and shook his head, “What?”
“Eddie tried that earlier.” Robin explained.
Steve turned to Eddie for further explanation.
He shrugged, “Didn’t know how to tell. But I’ve seen you do it.”
“Oh my god…” Steve sighed, “Why don’t you stay here with us until the storm lets up and then we’ll take you home and Ed’s can fix that flat tire, okay?”
Robin nodded and Steve ushered her towards the couch in the living room. The boys flopped down on either side of her, Eddie picking up the tv remote.
“So what do you wanna watch?”

i think it's hilarious that bruce's first instinct upon facing any issues in his parenting is "no more robin. effective immediately" like bro... you can't just go "you're not robin anymore" and expect them to REACT WELL????
bruce: gives his kid, who doesn't even know how to add fractions, a sense of importance stronger than most adults will ever have
robin: has anything bad happen to him, or experiences any negative emotions
bruce: hrm. i suppose i will take it all away now. because i love him.
robin: freaks the hell out and takes it extremely badly
bruce: hm. that went very well. i will make sure to employ this tactic with the next child.
