"Glamour UK launched its digital June Pride cover this week featuring a pregnant transgender man.

The cover features transgender activist and author Logan Brown standing topless with a suit painted over his chest and his pregnant belly on full display.

“I am a transgender pregnant man and I do exist, so no matter what anybody says, I literally am living proof,” Brown told the magazine.

Glamour UK, an online women’s magazine published by Condé Nast, launched its Pride cover issue on Thursday, coinciding with the start of LGBTQ Pride month. The magazine has previously showcased prominent figures in the LGBTQ community, such as Grammy-award winning artist Kim Petras and "Queer Eye" cast member Antoni Porowski.

This year’s issue “celebrates the allyship between women (cisgender or not) and transgender people through our shared experiences — in particular pregnancy, healthcare and childbirth,” the magazine explained.

The cover interview, which was conducted two weeks before Brown, 27, gave birth to his daughter, Nova, recounts the cover star’s experience with an unexpected pregnancy and navigating the medical system as a trans man...

Despite the backlash, the cover star expressed his desire to educate those who may hold misconceptions about transgender individuals.

Brown shared with Glamour that he is working on a children’s book and an autobiography that highlights his pregnancy, and hopes it will serve as a resource for other transgender people.

He added that he would also like the book to reach people who aren’t transgender but “are curious and want to know about the situation,” referring to trans pregnancy."

Especially heartening to see this coming out of the UK, given the dramatic rise in transphobia and TERFism there the past few years.

Right now, it can be a really stressful and heartbreaking time to be trans. Widespread change takes time that it often feels like we don't have. But we're here, and we will always be here, and despite what it may feel like, we have made unbelievable amounts of progress in the last 20 years alone.

I promise you this: the transphobes are going to lose.

i’ve always found it peculiar how during meeting the chargers cutscene the game just assumes your character automatically understands what krem is talking about when he mentions binding (though, granted, it’s all very unsubtle). like, this is a roleplaying game. what if i want to play a character who just doesn’t get it

me watching ppl write travis with a female reader, knowing he's a canonically gay character.

chat that's erasing rep, not saying it's as bad as whitewashing but it's essentially the same thing

females HE'S NOT FOR YOU!!! if you like him romantically just write drafts of him n you? make fanart?

and if u dk how to write male x male, then js don't write travis? it's like cis ppl trying to write trans chars and honestly js making rep worse

but, again, my bias of being a trans mlm aside, i can't stop you. it's just, i hate watching fem ppl erase canon gay rep js bc they find the char attractive.

and yes, ik it's not actually "erasing rep", as it's still canon. it's just very frustrating and id appreciate if writers just left gay chars with their gayness

Hi! I'm writing a fanfic and one of the main characters is trans, and I'm wondering if it's okay if I write his coming out scene as a sort of "from now on call me <insert name>". And also another thing: the character's pov I'm writing from is sort of set in the future, as in the whole fanfic is just a bunch of memories he remembers, and his friend came out to him a couple years after they met, so he knows his dead name. How should I write those memories before he came out? I don't want to use his birth name and I think it would be confusing if I'd say, for example, "that was the day Matthew told us to call him Matthew from now on". Also, any other tips for writing a trans character would be incredible.

I think having your trans character ask other characters to use his new name is a pretty smooth and efficient way to have him come out.

Here are some other tips for writing trans characters:

You and your mommies were going out for ice cream. That’s when it happened.

You were ordering, and the person working was studying you carefully. “You’re a handsome boy, ya’know that?” They said with a big smile.

You gave an awkward smile, Wanda and Natasha were waiting on you at the other side of the park. You went over to them, head hung a bit low. Wanda pulled you into her lap, “What’s wrong baby?” She asked, immediately recognizing your sadness.

“Nothing mommy!” You said, and plastered a huge smile on your face. Natasha tried to turn your fake smile into a real one, by tickling your side. You immediately cling to Wanda. “No Mama! No- Ah -Stop!” You giggled. “There’s our sweet girl.” Natasha whispered, kissing your cheek.

“Mama! You got ice cream on my face!” You yelled. Wanda went to lick it off your face, you blushed harder and hid your face in her neck. “Go get napkins Tasha.” Wanda ordered. Your mama happily got up to get them.

“Those two, are they your Boyfriend and Girlfriend?” The worker asked Natasha. She suddenly realized why you’d been upset.

“Girlfriends.” She said, harshly. Their eyes widened. “Oh my- I’m so sorry, could you bring her over here? I wanna apologize!” They said in a panic. “It’s okay. I’ll tell her.” Tasha whispered.

She went back to you two and sat down. She wiped your face with the napkin.

“Mama knows why baby girl was sad.” She whispered in your ear. “Don’t tell mommy!” You whispered, Wanda -Who could hear- eyed you. “Why not love?” Tasha shook her head and nodded.

The workers words repeated in your head.

- A handsome boy- A boy.

Did you still look like a boy? You panicked and tears started streaming down your face. Natasha sighed. “Let’s go home sweetie.” She said, kissing your forehead.

You nodded and got off Wanda, who was very cufuzzled. You three got in the car and Natasha held you in the back.

“Shh. You’re mamas baby girl” she whispered in your ear, you sniffled and you put your head in her chest.

When Wanda Parked, Natasha got you out and waited for her girlfriend to unlock the door. When they finally got in, you ran up to the shared room. You looked in the mirror and Sobbed. You heard a knock. It was Wanda.

“Honey let me in..” she said, putting a hand on the knob. “Come in..” you said, chocking on a cry. It was her and Natasha who came in. “Tell Me what happened little love.”The brunette whispered.

“They called me a boy mommy..” you whispered, “they think I’m a boy!” You looked away from the mirror and hugged Wanda. She hugged you tightly.

“Oh hush! You’re a girl. You know that, Mama knows that, and I know it. Who cares what that worker thought.�� She whispered, picking you up and turning you to look in the mirror.

“Mommys right baby.” Your mama said, rubbing your arms, “look at this,” she said grabbing your face. “Such a pretty face.” She whispers. Wanda wrapped her arms around your waist. “You are anything but a boy honey. You’re out beautiful baby girl.” She said smiling.

“Say it, detka.” Natasha whispered. “I’m mommy and Mamas beautiful baby girl.” You whispered. “There you go.” Wanda whispered. “And guess what?” Natasha said, looking at you and Wanda. You tilted your head. “You’re bottom surgery is in a week!” Your eyes widened and so did the smile on your face. “Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!” You said grabbing Your mamas face and kissing her. Wanda giggled and pulled you away.

“Mommy wants some too!” She said, pretending to be sad. You kissed her and hugged her. “Thank you..”

Pose is an amazing show with a lot to criticize but honestly the sheer lack of transbians in the show just starts becoming hilarious at a certain point
