You laughed to yourself, seeing Aonung trip over the sand during his walk of shame. His dad had just scolded him for giving the Sully family a hard time. Neteyam followed behind, hiding a laugh after seeing your own amused face. Your tail whipped Aonung as he walked by, and he turned around with a, ‘Just wait till later’ look. You flipped him off and rolled your eyes. He always tried to look tough, despite you two being friends he was always an ass.

Neteyam scratched his head, standing next to you awkwardly. “It was a difficult conversation to hear. I cant tell if my dad is scary or if Tonowari is..” You scoffed, “They’re both equally horrifying. Especially when they yell like they’re the only ones in the clan.” You shook your head, tying back your braided hair.

“Alright, let’s get some diving training in, Mr. Fall off a still Ilu.” You said while nudging him with your elbow before turning away from him to walk to the active waves. “It was one time! I didn’t get good balance!” Neteyam said, following behind you quickly.

You clicked your tongue, “Woo, tuctuctuc. Woo tuctuc.” Your Ilu, Rita emergent from the waves, and Neteyam mimicked your ways as well, his rushing to him and splashing him with water. “I feel like he just has something against me.” He said, wiping off his face with his large hands.

“Psst, your Ilu is a girl.” You said, a smile forming on your face while you straddled Riti. Neteyam groaned, petting his underwater friend. “Yo, sorry bro- girl, sis? No wonder you’re fed up with me..” He straddled her, grabbing onto the handle and looking up at you shyly. His smile looked so soft, and he waited for you to dive first. You raised a brow, not taking the lead this time,

“Your turn to dive in first, Yam.” You said while crossing your arms. He just gave you a sad look, taking a series of deep breathes, his blue cheeks puffing out as he dived in, his Ilu already taking off with yours following next to him just as fast.

‘You have good breath control. You learn quickly.’ You signed, releasing the handle of your Ilu for a short while before swimming up to quickly grab it again. Neteyam nodded happily, glad he was getting praise. You two continued circling around, chasing coral before heading to the surface so he could get some air.

“That was a good run, you did great.” You said with your eyes closed, and baby blue hands pushing back stray braids and hairs. He stared at you, the way your torso tensed up along with your arms as you raised them above your head. He covered the lower bit of his face with his hand before turning to you again with an ego. “You should give me a date as a reward.” Neteyam said with confidence. “I wanna get to know you, without that sarcastic little tone.” You actually laughed out loud, “You want a date, beat me in a race and you’ll know everything about me.”

Neteyam grabbed your hand, shaking it as a deal before petting his Ilu and motivation. “Let’s do it. You’ll know i’ll win.” You smirked, “Alright, big boy. Let’s see how fast you can go.” Both of you readied up, Ilu’s speeding off into the depths of the ocean.

Safe to say Neteyam definitely won that date. Knowing that his crush on you and that sassy little personality of yours is his biggest weakness.

If you're taking requests, could you do Lyney fluff? With the reader as traveler and they aren't exactly dating but there's mutual attraction, but no one confessed yet. Basically Lyney has the day off and the traveler is still new to Fontaine so they finish mapping it out and he tags along. Like a vague telling of doing commissions, underwater exploration even, and going back to the city at the end of the day all filled with romantic tension( like butterflies n stuff). The entire thing is just very general fluff, so like some specific moments in the day where they were like this close 🤏 from just leaning in. And it ends with the two about to confess but Lynette shows up out of nowhere and is like "am I interrupting?".

“So after we get done with this location where do we go next?

Lyney voiced the question as you continued to fill out your growing map of Fontaine. You and Paimon had opted to go and explore Fontaine after the duration of trails you had.

Lyney had spotted you two and had opted to tag along, since it was his day off. You didn’t seem to mind as you agreed to his offer, both of you going on a long trip around the main areas of Fontaine.

You had completed your commissions with the help of Lyney. Surprisingly enough he seemed to be skilled with a bow and arrow, along with some flames from his hat.

Getting some teleport waypoints, to which you had to explain to Lyney what they were, you both had cleared half of the map. All that was left was to get one last underwater waypoint.

Apparently Lyney was just as skilled as his brother in swimming because he made sure to spin and do tricks for you when you both ventured underwater the first time.

He had picked a bouquet of underwater flowers for you, and you had to hide your face in them to cover up your blush. Paimon had caught the gentle pink dusting your cheeks, however, before you could hide it.

You were honestly surprised she hadn’t blabbered about your on-growing crush about Lyney yet. He was being cheekier than usual with his teases and gestures. He even went as far as to go get a waypoint for you so you wouldn’t have to “stress your pretty legs for such a silly thing”.

Getting the waypoint underwater, you decided that it was enough progress for today and walked tiredly back into the somewhat city with Lyney.

“Say why don’t I treat you to dinner? My treat after you did so much work today”, Lyney spoke gently as he flipped around a card or two in his hands.

“That would be great!” You jumped a little at Paimon’s quick reply. Giving her a slight glare you glanced at Lyney.

“Yeah, if you want to.”

Tucking away the card to who-know-where Lyney grabbed your hand and started to lead you to what you presumed would be the cafe.

After walking for a bit more, Lyney guided you to an outdoor table with an umbrella, “Here sit.” He pulled back a chair for you, “I’ll go order.”

You stretched as you go comfortable in the chair, eyes trailing to watch Lyney order. Paimon fortunately seemed too invested in the smell of food to notice your staring.

As soon as Lyney turned to go sit with you, your gaze snapped to the table. Seemingly trying to play it off you were interrupted by Lyney’s voice.

“Are you okay? If you’re not feeling well I can get it for takeout.”

You shook your head, “I’m good, just spaced out.”

You gave him a small smile and he returned it as he sat down. A somewhat comfortable silence surpassed over the two of you as you waited on the food.

You didn’t even need to tell Lyney what to order you because he had already memorized it for some reason. Maybe he just had go memory skills. It wasn’t long before your food arrived and you all started to eat.

Paimon excused herself to leave, most likely to go rest on a bench from all of the food she ate. Leaving just you and Lyney.

“Y’know watching you today was better than one of my own performances if I do say so myself.”

“Oh, thanks”, your cheeks turned slightly red again.

“If..if you have time maybe we could do that again sometime?”

You glanced up at Lyney. Was he proposing a date? Before you could reply someone cleared their throat from beside you.

You jumped as Lyney sighed in somewhat irritation.

“Hello Lynette”, Lyney emphasized her name as he stared at the monotonous girl.

“Am I interrupting something? Sorry, the crew needs you back at the theater, a prop broke.”

Another sigh from Lyney, “Right, right. We’ll talk later, hm?”

You nodded as you met Lyney’s slightly pink-purple gaze. He gave you a curt tip of his hat before he left with Lynette. You yourself sighed at the current change of things.

Standing up, a card slipped from your seat. You picked it up and it revealed that it was the queen of hearts.

Huh, so he did mean a date.

You and Jungkook had been looking forward to this trip to Hawaii for months. The two of you were excited to spend some time away from the stresses of everyday life and just enjoy each other's company. You had invited your friends, fellow couples Taehyung and Jennie, and Jimin and Jiyeon. Jungkook proposed, much to your dismay, that you could also ask Arin to tag along. Arin was his childhood friend, and as much as you tried to like her for your boyfriend's sake, it was so glaringly obvious how not so friendly her attraction was for him. You had brought this up to Jungkook when you first began dating, but he brushed it off, saying they both saw each other as brother and sister and that she was nothing to worry about.

You still had your reservations regarding her, but you didn't put up more of a fight, deciding instead to trust your boyfriend and his loyalty and love for you. The eight of you had just arrived at your hotel and were settling in your rooms. You and Jungkook shared a room, while Taehyung and Jennie, Jimin and Jiyeon, and Arin each had their own rooms.

"Baby?" Jungkook asks. You turn your head in question. "Do you wanna go surfing real quick? We have nothing to do today besides the dinner reservation later tonight."

You smile. The pair of you loved surfing, you began doing it together shortly after you started dating, and it became a sacred tradition you guys had. Every weekend, you would drive to the nearby beach by your shared apartment, surfboard in tow, and surf for hours.

"Of course, my love, let me unpack our clothes first and change into my bathing suit." He nods, squeezing your waist lightly. As you were unpacking, Arin came into your room to chat with Jungkook. Awkwardly, you shuffle into the bathroom to avoid unneeded interaction with her.

"So, have you decided what you want to do first?" Arin asks, trying to make conversation.

"I think we're going to hit the beach and maybe do some surfing," Jungkook replies. Your eye twitches, and you have to restrain every bone in your body from reaching over and slapping him over the head.

"That sounds like so much fun!" Arin exclaims. "Can I come with you guys?"

"Uh, sure," You say, trying to hide your annoyance. Of course. You feel your neck tighten in what you presumed to be pent-up frustration, yet, you know this was only the beginning. 'Whatever,' you thought. You were aware Arin couldn't surf, so you didn't feel bothered. You knew you could leave her behind to swim alone while the pair of you caught some waves.

You should've known that Arin wouldn't keep her mouth quiet, though, because soon enough, the whole group was clambering into your small room, all rambling about how excited they were to surf. You didn't want to sound rude, but you and Jungkook hadn't spent much alone time together recently, and the thought of spending at least a few hours by yourselves sounded so good. You plaster a fake smile, and Jungkook sends you an apologetic one.

The group of you headed down to the beach, and like you predicted, Arin kept trying to join in, but she wasn't very good and kept falling off her board. Your satisfied smile turns sour, though, once Jungkook moves to grab her by the waist and set her back on her own two feet. You wish you could dunk his head underwater and hold him there.

After a while, you all returned to the hotel to prepare for dinner. As you were getting dressed, Arin once again made herself at home in your room, chatting with Jungkook about how he needed to teach her how to surf. Your annoyance was bubbling over at this point because as soon as you walked out of the bathroom, you realized Arin was wearing a dress similar to the one you were in.

This, of course, wouldn't have been a problem; coincidences happen! Yet, you knew you weren't being dramatic in your anger because this was the very same dress you had bought in the resort's small boutique that afternoon when you guys first arrived. The same boutique that all eight of you entered at the same time and where you spent an hour deciding which of the dresses you and the other girls should get and wear for dinner that night. You had all, Arin included, picked out four very different dresses. Your dress was decided by both yourself and Jungkook as he gloated about how beautiful you looked in it. Did she … Did she really go back and buy your same dress?

"Hey, Arin, that's the same dress I was going to wear tonight," You say, slightly annoyed.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I realized later that the one I had initially picked out wasn't flattering on me," Arin replies, not sounding very apologetic.

You quirk an eyebrow, "Hmm, that's so weird because you kept saying how it made you look so good back at the store!" A fake smile on display, you brush past her and make your way toward your boyfriend, struggling to button up his shirt.

"Be nice," He whispers. You finish buttoning up his shirt and reach up to smack him on the forehead. He could be really stupid.

You tried to brush it off, for Jungkook's sake, and you all headed out to dinner. During the meal, Arin kept trying to talk to Jungkook, ignoring you completely. Gritting your teeth at another one of her aggravating laughs, you settle a hand on Jungkook's shoulder, excusing yourself to the bathroom.

Resting your hands on the sink, you try to catch your breath. One, two, three. Breathe in, breathe out. One, two, three. Feeling a lot better now and not like you were going to throw a plate at the annoying girl, you splash some water on your face. You hear the creak of the bathroom door opening, and you tense up, fearing it is the one person you don't want to see.

"Oh my god, y/n, you need to come back right now. I can't stand being near that wench for another second." Jennie whines, reaching to wrap her arms around your waist. With a sigh of relief, you turn around to crush her into a hug.

"Girl, I might throw myself out of the balcony any second. She's being so weird with Jungkook!" You whine back, causing the girls to nod.

"I noticed. If she did that with Jimin, trust me she would be lost at sea." Jiyeon giggles, brushing my hair out of my face. You smile weakly at her, and the three of you link arms and return to the table.

"There's our girls!" Taehyung announces, getting the table's attention. Jungkook immediately looking over, reaching an arm out toward you and pouting his lips. You grab his arm and lean down to give him a light kiss, and he smiles into it.

"You okay, baby?" He asks. You reply with a curt nod. He frowns, noticing your obvious mood shift, yet before he can ask you what's up, his attention is again on Arin as she continues talking about whatever the hell she is talking about.

As the night went on, you started to feel increasingly uncomfortable. You noticed that Arin honestly did not care. She looked so pathetic, reaching over to slap a hand on his thigh as she laughed. Yet, you knew you looked even more pathetic just watching your boyfriend letting it happen. After dinner, you all headed back to the hotel. You and Jungkook return to your room, and you sigh in relief once your back hits the bed. Jungkook follows suit, the two of you lying silently and staring at the ceiling.

"Hey," He says, effectively getting your attention.

"Hm?" You ask, looking over at him. He sighs, reaching his arm up to cup your cheek.

"I'm sorry we haven't been able to spend time alone today." He whispers. Your heart melts at his large, apologetic eyes. You hum, turning your body to face him better.

"It's okay, baby. I can't say I'm not sad. It's been so long since we've been alone together." You pout, his thumb reaching down to tuck it back into place.

"We're alone now," He smiles, and you nod. He leans in, drapes a leg over your body to tug you closer, and kisses you. You two get lost in each other's touch, but a knock comes from the door before it can get any further.

You pull apart, chests heaving, and Jungkook pats your thigh as he gets up to answer it. You don't even act surprised at who stands on the other side.

"Hey, Jungkook, can I talk to you for a second?" Arin asks.

"Uh, sure," Jungkook says, looking confused. He looks back at you, smiling apologetically, before following after her.

You wait a few minutes, but when they don't return, you can't ignore your racing heartbeat and decide to see what is happening. As you turn the corner, you face one of the worst sights you've ever seen. Arin kissing Jungkook. You wouldn't be surprised if a heart-shaped hole manifested under you because you were sure it fell out and sank to the first floor.

"Jungkook?" You whisper. The pair break apart, Arin gazing up at you with wide eyes, yet not as wide as your startled boyfriend's.

"No, Y/N, it's not what it looks like," Jungkook tries to explain. You hold a hand up to silence him. You didn't notice you were crying until tears started falling onto your cheeks.

"I can't believe you would do this to me," You whimper out, shaking your head and turning around, running back to the room. You barricade yourself inside, holding your head as you sob your heart out.

You packed your bags that night and left the trip early, ignoring everyone's phone calls.

Back home, you were heartbroken. You try to wrap your head around why? He told you, no, he promised you he would never cheat on you. That was the last thing on his mind, or so you thought. You beat yourself up, how could you be so stupid? He was practically cheating on you that whole trip. That kiss was just the nail in the coffin.

Unbeknownst to you, your girlfriends had let Arin have it. They called her all the names in the book, cementing whose side they were on. Jungkook wasn't free from their criticism either. They had read him to filth, which resulted in their boyfriends having to drag them away before they legitimately beheaded him. They decided to end their trip short, too.

A day after you left, the group decided to all come to your apartment at once. They could see some unresolved explanations to be said, and if Jungkook's incessant crying was any indicator, maybe you had gotten it all wrong. One part of it was to have everyone explain their side uninterrupted. The other part was that if there wasn't some sort of mediator, they were sure you would throw your microwave at Jungkook and Arin's heads.

It leads you all here. Silent, sitting in your living room. You stare at the wall, trying to avoid Jungkook's piercing gaze. You know he's fighting every bone in his body not to jump over the coffee table and hug you. He always hated when you cried. You almost feel bad, his red-rimmed eyes and distraught demeanor tugging at your heartstrings. You remind yourself that he cheated on you and doesn't deserve your pity.

After a while, Arin clears her throat, getting everyone's attention. You set your pointed gaze on her, waiting to hear the stupidity about to come out of her mouth.

"I'm so sorry, Y/N. I never meant to hurt you. I just couldn't help my feelings for Jungkook," Arin says, tears in her eyes. Oh? You were confused. Is she admitting that Jungkook didn't cheat on you? You look over at him, and he nods.

"She's right, Y/N. I would never cheat on you. Arin kissed me, and I would've pushed her away! I swear! But you walked in as soon as she kissed me. I didn't even have time to process what had just happened." He's pleading, inching closer to the edge of his seat, almost as if he would pounce on you at any second.

You sigh, sitting up. You look at Arin first. "Arin," you begin. "I've put up with your antics for as long as I can remember. I always knew you liked Jungkook, but I set my feelings aside because I know how important you two are to each other. But this? This was too far. You kissed my boyfriend, Arin. MY boyfriend. You had no right to do that."

She bows her head, muttering another small apology. You turn to Jungkook. "Jungkook. I communicated with you about my feelings regarding your friendship with her. You told me she wasn't a problem, that she wouldn't try anything. Look where that ended us up." He bites his lip, nodding his head in agreement.

You sigh again. "Arin, I forgive you. I know you and Jungkook have been friends for such a long time, and that maybe that manifested into love or whatever, but I need to make one thing clear. If I want my relationship to work out with Jungkook, I need you to stay away from us for the time being. Not for forever, but for a while." She hesitates before nodding, looking toward Jungkook, yet he doesn't even spare her a glance.

"I forgive you too," You say, looking at Jungkook. "But you need to agree with my proposition to make this work. If you can't do that, I really don't want to even bother giving you a second chance."

"Of course." He says almost instantly. You nod.

The rest of your friends pipe up, apologizing for any part they may have played in the situation and promising to support you all in any way they could.

After everyone had left, you and Jungkookwere finally alone. The two of you sit down on the couch, and you let out a tense breath.

"I'm sorry," Jungkook says, taking your hand. "I never wanted to hurt you."

"I know," you reply, tears still in your eyes. "I just...I can't believe that happened."

"I promise you, Y/N, I love you and only you," Jungkook says, looking into your eyes. "Arin's feelings for me don't change that."

You took a deep breath and leaned into him. You knew he was right. Your love for each other was strong enough to overcome any obstacle, even something as painful as this.

"I love you too, Jungkook," you assured, feeling a weight lift off your chest.

You sat there for a while, just holding each other and talking about what had happened. The two of you agreed that you needed to be more mindful of boundaries in your friendships and that you would work together to make sure nothing like this ever happened again.

As the night wore on, you decided to order food and spend the rest of the evening together. You knew it wouldn't be easy, but you were both determined to move past this and come out stronger on the other side.

Arin did eventually come back into your life many, many months later. Thankfully, you all had another conversation in which you reaffirmed your boundaries, and she graciously agreed to them. In the end, your love for each other only grew. You had weathered a brutal storm but came out on the other side more committed to each other than ever before.

This event is to showcase stories and art, old and new, that has romantic love as it's main theme. Want warm and fuzzy cuddles, awkward crushes or burning passion? You'll find it here!

Hi everyone! I’ve decided to (finally) get my act together and make a masterlist post for all the requests/stories I’ve done so far. Okay so I don’t normally ship Danny too much ( I do love Danny/Tim) but since thinking of big brother Danny more I actually thought that he would end up with a crush on kaldur and it would be gold and I live this ship for 2 reasons

1 because I think it would be hilarious if they met away from Dick and when they started dating Dick was unaware that Danny’s new boyfriend is one of his best friends

2 Danny would try to be romantic and get scuba diving lessons for him and kaldur pre reveal because kaldur told him how much he loves the ocean. A week after the big reveal on both sides I just imagine Danny stopping in place and just staring at Kaldur and when they ask what wrong he just slowly replies with you’re an Atlantean and Kaldur gets a little worried like is that a problem and then Danny continues you’re an atlantean you can breath underwater I’m a half ghost and do not need to breath… I paid for scuba lessons and rented breathing equipment that neither of us need

And 3 if Danny being able to speak any language because of being ghost king I imagine Danny and kaldur speaking Atlantean and not realizing it until someone says something

But seriously Danny has a type and it is strong independent and in control

Oooo and what if the whole time pre and post reveal Danny is like he’s way outta my league and random people agreeing meanwhile kaldur is like I won the jackpot my boyfriend is adorable and I love him

I need to stop my brain won’t shut up I need sleep

Last thing I swear, if they found out Danny was a half ghost but didn’t know he was ghost king then they could actually get together because Danny asks for some advice for some Atlantean ghosts and Kaldur tutors him in some customs not knowing Danny is about to sigh a peace treaty with the Atlantean afterlife or something like that

Jack stepped out of the portal. So his version takes place in Moonwood Mill! And he is standing right before the Bunker! This means Noxee will be his guide! Oh he's so excited! (Since she lives here. Noxee was Jack's first crush.)

But no one was around. So Jack went to the cliff above Lake Lunvik to get an overview. He told Little Goat to stay near the Bunker. Moonwood Mill is full of wolves who would love a little goat appetizer before dinner.

He arrived at the cliff just at the border between night and day. But where is Noxee?

Oh no - he knows that smell. It's Greg! Why their former PE teacher of all creatures?

Greg: "Is this how you dress when you enter the otherworld? Show a little respect!" Jack: "These are my best trousers!" (Yes, now. Since he ripped his best trousers the other day...)

And when Greg asked Jack what he wants to let go, there was only one answer: "You! I want to let go of you! Go where ever you want but don't cross my way anymore! What are you even doing here? And where is Noxee?"

Greg: "Well, let's have a fight. If you win, you will never see me again." Jack: "Agreed! You must know, I never loose a fight!" (Well except against Kiyoshi. But only because Kiyoshi is his alpha and also fights with Jack's strength. This won't happen with Greg, Jack is sure.) And so they went to the fighting grounds and Greg transformed.

But Jack lost again! How is this possible? Maybe because it's the otherworld and the fight is tied to the offering?

Greg: "That was a weak offering. Your gain will be greater when you let something more important go, son." Jack: "Don't call me that! So - the most important thing in my life are my friends. I certainly won't let them go. Second is ... uhm... Pizza. (since their relationship is a secret, he can't say 'Kiyoshi') But I can't let that go either. But I will let my ... uhm let's say... 'weird obsession' for it go. That's my highest bid." (Jack is insanely jealous and has a lot of weird suspicions about Kiyoshi going on in his crazy head. Since Kiyoshi can't tell him about his actions concerning the Council and the Resistance. And that everyone (except Noxee) falls for his demonic charms doesn't make it easier...).

Greg: "Accepted. Let's call the horse then." They transformed back and waited for the horse. Greg: "There it comes!" Jack: "That's not a horse! What's wrong with you?" Greg: "Behind that girl! What's wrong with you!"

Ah there it is!

And it runs right past Jack! Just like Kiyoshi on their first date! Hahaha this game!

Jack: "He's wonderful! What's his name?" Greg: "Haha he's Lunatic, just like you!"

Lunatic: "Take that back!" Greg: "Sorry, pal."

Greg: "His name actually is 'Lunatic'. He's a Galineers Cob." ('Luna' = 'the moon' in many languages).

Time is short, the portal is overgrowing on the other side. And so Jack mounted and tried to steer Lunatic to the portal. But before they could discuss the deal there with Little Goat, Lunatic trotted right in the opposite direction.

Where they vanished into the woods...

Harry Potter had never met nor heard of Barnaby Thorn before he was chosen as the original hogwarts champion. He was a fifth yeah, the same as Cedric. Yet all seemed to groan when a Slytherin was chosen to represent hogwarts.

The Slytherins all cheered though when one of their own was called. Snape even let a smirk befall on his face before letting it go back to its neutral expression.

When the first task was going on Harry had decided to let Barnaby know about the dragons. When he approached him the Slytherins all looked at him distastefully. Yet Barnaby only looked curious. “Hey um, Barnaby can I speak to you? In private…” Harry was surprised he had agreed as quickly as he did. After he told him about the dragons Barnaby looked almost genuinely frightened. “Are, are you sure?”

“Yes I am. I’ve seen them and I know that Fleur has been told. Meaning there’s also a high chance Krum knows too. I didn’t want to leave you to be the only one…”

Barnaby shocked Harry by smiling at him thankfully before placing his hand on Harry’s shoulder. “Well thanks Potter. For not being prejudiced and stuff. Also I’m sorry for the badges. I tried to get my mates to stop wearing g them. I’ll make it up for you when I can though yeah?” He soon left after that in the direction of the library while his friends followed quickly behind to ask why Harry was talking to him.

In the second task, Barnaby realised quite quickly what the meaning of the egg was and quickly returned the favour to Harry. He told Harry what exactly he needed to do with the egg with a small note.

Potter, open it underwater. Told you I’d make it up for you when I could yeah?

When Harry looked up he already found Barnaby looking at him expectedly nodding silently before returning to a conversation.

Barnabys person in the lake was one of his best friends Juno James. He had used a bubble head charm and offered to go back into the water to help Harry but his other friends wouldn’t allow him nor would the teachers. Though when Ron and Fleurs sister came out of the water Barnaby was their to pull them out and give them his blanket. That was the act that earned Hermiones respect and gratitude, as well as a little bit of Rons.

When the Yule ball was happening, lots of girls asked Barnaby to be their date, yet he rejected them all. There was only one girl he wanted to ask to the ball. His long time crush. Helaena Jones. A fifth year Ravenclaw who just so happened to be a muggleborn. Still, Barnaby didn’t really care much about his reputation. He asked her with some lily of the valleys one afternoon and she said yes. He even based his suit of her dress (it was navy blue). They danced all night and even talked a little with the other champions. Though by the end of the night, Barnaby was sitting with Helaena their feet aching like anything. Barnaby took his chance though as he tucked her loose hair behind her ear and kissed her. It was easily Barnabys favourite nights of his life. He could not stop smiling as the girl he fancied for ages kissed him back.

During the third task Barnaby practised as many spells as he could with both his mates and his new girlfriend Helaena, who’d agreed to go out with him a little after the ball.

He even managed to conjur a patronus by thinking of when he kissed Helaena and got the opportunity to tell her how he felt. His patronus is penguin. Barnaby got really confused why Helaena was laughing about it so much.

When Barnaby was going through the maze he didn’t want it to be a tie, but he didn’t want to leave Harry behind and just so happened to touch the cup at the same time anyways.

In the cemetery, Barnaby is prepared with his wand at the ready and back to back to Harry. He thinks it is just another part of the maze designed to test their reaction on their feet. Voldemort kills Barnaby Thorn with zero remorse as no matter what blood-status they are, no matter what house he was, all that mattered was that he was the spare and wasn’t supposed to be there.

Harry brings back Barnabys body in tears and Helaena is the one who screams at her lovers corpse. She is the one who runs to him with zero hesitation and cries for him as she hold onto her lover for dear life. The slytherins are silent as they mourn for one of their own. They realise even if they are pure-blood slytherins, they are not safe in this war.

In Harry’s fifth year he takes notice how the Slytherins are acting more defiant that year. More and more Slytherins are wanting to join Dumblsdores Army and even Goyle, a once loyal son of a death eater, is bringing Harry to the side after a lesson asking how he can help. Even offering to be a mole in Umbridges inquisitorial squad.

Umbridge loses all notiriarity within the slytherins when she says Barnabys death was an accident. They all gain respect for Harry when he sticks up for Barnaby saying how he was murdered. They all liked him as even if he wasn’t a traditional slytherin he helped make people believe not all slytherins were bad.

Barnabys death was the first official casualty in the war and the Slytherins do well to not let others forget it. When the war is happening, many slytherins are helping muggleborns by forging them into their family trees. Juno James, who in their first year stated firmly that they hated ‘mudbloods’, is claiming Helaena Jones to be their second cousin.

Slytherins are teaching first years on how to pretend to be under the cruciatus curse so no one needs to torture eleven year olds. They teach other students how to make the wrong gesture subtly enough so the carrows don’t notice the wrong movements. They lie to the carrows with silver tongues and hearts made of solid steel.

When the war came to hogwarts McGonnigal ordered Filch to send the slythsrins to the dungeons, yet the other houses all protested. Staring with Helaena Jones and the first years who owe their lives to the slytherins.

The younger Slytherins were taken to the evacuation tunnel. Though many stay to defend the castle with their friends. Slytherin or not.

Many slytherin children fought their parents in the battle. Juno James was forced to battle his mother who disowned him on the battlefield. Helaena Jones though went against Barnabys Father. She cried as the saw the resemblance of him and his son and knocked him out. When Voldemort stood opposite them encouraging for the slytherins to come forward as he shall show mercy to his fellow Slytherins, they all stay with their fellow pupils. As where was this supposed sympathy for Barnaby Thorn? Who was a slytherin and a pure blood.

The slytherins may have been the most untrustworthy house in Harry’s third year. Yet by the war they all faught tooth and nail because Hogwarts was their home too.

Request: Shuriri x reader (Plot: Reader is Namor’s younger sister and when shuriri gets taken hostage, they meet reader, in hopes of escaping, but harbors a crush on the underwater princess. [Shuri & Riri are already dating]. So when they manage to escape [without nakia killing one of the civilians], shuriri asks reader out on a date and she accepts.

You had always been a handful, your brother knew that. But he liked that about you, you kept him on his toes. Currently you were humming to yourself while you swam through the depths of the ocean, you were mesmerized by the beautiful creatures that lived below the sea. Your favorite had always been the orcas, they were fast and stubborn like you. A giggle left your lips as you swam above a pod of orcas, your eyes were focused on a mama and her baby. A while back you and Namor named the mama orca ‘igorha’ it meant warrior, it was based off a language you studied last year, You didn’t remember much of it. You heard a bunch of noise which made you pause and look towards the underwater home. Namor was returning, you quickly started your journey back.

When you arrived back you went to the caves that had air pockets, that’s where your brother was. It was used as a cell so it concerned you why he was down there but you went nonetheless, when you stepped in the guards moved. You greeted them “Hello my sisters” you said before continuing into the cavern. When you saw your brother you ran up and hugged him, what you didn’t expect to see was the princess of Wakanda and a child? It was short so you couldn’t tell. Your brother shooed you away and continue to talk with the prisoner making you roll your eyes and leave, as soon as he left you went right back in to see the princess of Wakanda herself.

Little did you know was as soon as Shuri and Riri saw you they felt like they were in love, they gave eachother the silent ‘she’s beautiful’ look as Namor kept talking.

Your face felt hot the closer you got, your brother told you never to go near the prisoners but you were interested. The princess was giving you the death stare the closer you got but you just raised a brow “Hello?” You said and they both froze, the only one of the Talokan they knew could speak English was Namor “I’m y/n” you said as you looked at them “Shuri Udaku” the princess said “Riri Williams” you smiled “You speak English?” Shuri asked “Why of course I do! Being the sister of Namor has perks!” You smiled and the two looked at eachother “Sister!?” Riri said raising a brow “Can you maybe do us a favor beautiful?” Shuri said and you nodded “Yes of course” you chuckled and Shuri smirked “Can you unlock this cage for me, and let us out. I need to speak to Namor” she said a small sigh left your lips as you shook your head, you thought someone actually wanted to be your friend. “No. You are prisoners” you stated before you made your way out

For a few days you brought them food and talked to them, in those days they began to crush on you. Small talks about your hobbies and different things were always struck up. They did whatever they could to get you to stay and talk with them, they didn’t take stuff unless it was from you.

One day while you were down there you heard something and looked over to see a woman in armor, you back up against the cage as she walked towards you. You quickly stood up and guarded the cage, you knew if they escaped on your watch your brother would kill you. Literally.

The woman looked behind you then pulled two huge rings from behind her back, she pointed them at you and you back up further against the cage. She placed them against your neck pushing as she drew blood “NAKIA NO!” Shuri called out and the woman stopped “She is a good person, let her go!” Shuri quickly followed up and the woman named Nakia put her ring down and pointed to the exit. She was telling you to go before she made you, you were quick to scamper out of the cave and run to Namor.

When Namor found out he brought war to Wakanda, you hated seeing the violence. But after a week your brother lost to Wakanda, you decided to go with your brother when he went to see Shuri one more time. When you saw her she was accompanied by three women, the girl from the cave. A bald women who stood stoic and strong and then the woman who almost killed you in the cave, you were dead set on looking at Shuri and the girl. Riri williams.

When your brother finished talking you could help but walk over to the girls, a small smile planted on your face. “Hey so uhm, I know we got off on bad terms but we were thinking maybe you wanted to go out sometime?” Shuri said, a nod coming from Riri. Namor had never heard a yes come from your mouth that quick which left him a little surprised, Shuri handed you an earring. She said it would help you communicate before you and Namor took off back to the water.

When you returned your brother watched you swim around in join, he’d never seen you so happy so he was okay with it. “Is this was love feels like? This is love?!” You asked your brother who only smiled, a chuckle leaving his lips as he sat down in his chair. “I love the feeling of love!” You cheered as he watched your theatrics.

Okay, I personally ship SNS and think that it is THE best written relationship in Naruto, even if one doesn’t want to view them as strictly romantic. I even think there’s fairly strong evidence for Naruto and Sasuke being purposely written as… non-hetero, is what I’ll go with.

However, there is one part in the manga/anime which possibly conflicts with this idea, and was hoping you could offer an explanation (I’m reallly liking your posts btw).

In the arc where Naruto is with Sakura, Yamato, and Sai, there’s a part where they stop at an inn and hots springs/bath place. Sakura goes to the women’s section by herself, while Naruto goes to the men’s bath section with Yamato and Sai (and Naruto also seems embarrassed and oddly flustered? Which is weird because I thought that bathing among other men isn’t weird in Japanese culture, but maybe Naruto he just doesn’t feel comfortable around them?) and at some point Naruto decides to peep on Sakura before being strongly discouraged by Yamato.

My question is, what’s up with Naruto apparently being attracted/still having a crush on Sakura? How does this fit into a SNS reading of the manga?

(Btw I also find that moment weird because (A) Naruto’s “crush” is basically nonexistent immediately before and after this scene, and (B) I thought Naruto didn’t approve of peeping because he always called Jiraiya out on it?)

Exactly. So you kind of answered your own question there. It's weird isn't it? Why would Naruto be so awkward bathing with Sai and Yamato? Well, at the time these two aren't his favorite people, sure. But this is a pattern with Naruto.

Let's examine the scene first.

He hugs his knees, barricading himself almost hiding underwater. This, while Yamato expresses that "guys being together naked makes them feel like companions!" Naruto who kept blushing throughout the scene, very much doesn't feel that way.

In fact, Sai decided to comment on his..

It makes Naruto shout really loudly mentioning, well "penises". He went from being awkward to pretty much hysterical. Naruto overreacts despite Sai overstepping boundaries.

This makes all the ladies laugh.

This is important because he already looked nervous. And now he embarrassed himself in front of his new teammates. -'Totally uncool what would they think of this behavior?'- It is realistic. Well.. this is clever writing because Naruto's story and how he comes to deal with his own feelings and understanding them is a huge part of it. How does he deal with this awkward situation?

Of course when he hears the woman laugh he gets an idea and grins. He's seen Jiraiya do it too many times after all. Peeking at the woman's bath. It is complete deflection. Naturally, Yamato stands up when he figures out what Naruto is about to do.

He doesn't. It has nothing to do with Sakura. I think, if I remember correctly, the Anime did make this scene about Sakura but that wasn't the point. Kishimoto is such a damn genius who depicts Naruto's struggle brilliantly in subtle and obvious ways. There is another one-shot where the exact same pattern with Naruto in the Onsen appears. It isn't Canon but made by Kishimoto anyway.

Naruto lies when Sakura and Sai see him brain-rotting over Sasuke. Instead he says he was planning a date with Sakura.

When Kakashi tells Naruto he likes him Naruto yet again overreacts. He tells him to "not say weird shit like that you friggin idiot!" and "your creepy ass threw me off!" even though very obviously Kakashi didn't mean it like that. And Naruto's reaction was completely uncalled for.

And during the Bell Test(? if I remember), Kakashi said he liked Naruto as well. This isn't the first time at least. Yet when Naruto is older and struggling he gets awkward and flustered about it. When Sai pulls an arm around Naruto he gets mad. On the other hand.. When others insult Sakura by calling her ugly or a bitch (Konohamaru) he doesn't care. Naruto didn't see any difference in her appearance after the time-skip she "looked fine!" and "didn't change at all!" even though Sasuke looks " カッコイイ" (cool, attractive, good looking) and again in Gaiden (handsome). Even Haku was cuter than Sakura. He has no problem calling his mother beautiful either.

.. okay there are too many moments. The point is, just take Naruto's confession under the bridge, his thoughts during VotE1 and confessions VotE2 and his patterns make sense. Peeking at the women after that awkward situation is part of it. (As is lying.)
