so I’ve been contemplating for a while what I’ve wanted to do for a milestone/collab and seeing as how this is my first time doing something like this, I hope I don’t screw it up! 😭 but I’m super excited. I’ve talked about it before on here but when I was on WattPad, I did a multiverse mafia AU and it was so much fun but I’ve wanted to revisit and do it justice this time. Also, y’all know I’m a sucker for anything crime/true crime related. I couldn’t decide on which one I wanted to do after the poll (and I wanted to give everybody what they wanted 😭). Sooo…I present to y’all, the 10K collab event, Tales of the Underbelly!

But underneath the surface of the glamour..lies a world filled with danger, adventure and deceit. In a country where several rival gangs fight to take the top spot as the head syndicate, they’ll do anything to achieve that power and they’ll get their success by any means. On the other side of the fence lies a legion of hard working individuals that’ll stop at no means to see these hardened criminals brought to justice. A task force comprised of the country’s highest ranking officers, hoping to take down the monsters responsible for ruining their cities. Not everything is black and white…bonds and partnerships like you’ve never seen will be formed to help either side see their dream to fruition. Which will you choose? • all participants must be 18+ due to the type of content that will be written about. It will contain violence, smut, drugs, sexual content, mentions of death/murder and anything synonymous with every crime show you’ve ever watched.

• this is a multiverse AU (emphasis on AU so I’d prefer non-canon events although including bits of the story/character personas is fine!) event but it is anime themed (obv). Fandoms included are AOT, JJK, Demon Slayer, Tokyo Revengers, One Piece, JJBA, HunterxHunter, Haikyuu, KNB, Bleach, etc. (these are just the fandoms I’ve written for but feel free to write for whoever you’d like!)

• there’s no deadline on this or set date because I can’t guarantee when I’ll be able to update myself but if you’d like to join, shoot me a DM or inbox me! Tell me your characters, the genre of the fic and if it’ll be a drabble or full fic, brief plot summary and I’ll add you to the collab list!

hi dear!!! i definitely don't mind AT ALL i love getting questions!!!! i probably have answered this question before, but this is one of those things that's subject to change pretty often as i find new characters and they take over from older ones :] so i will probably never give the exact same answer twice dksvjsdfh

ok ok that said, let me see... in no particular order:

Damianos of Akielos (Book: Captive Prince trilogy) quite literally THE man of all time. THE man of my dreams. he is such a beautifully written character who is so complex and interesting to read!! he is so gentle and caring despite his size, and he has a confidence i can only aspire to.

Neil Josten (Book: All For The Game trilogy) unhinged maniac 🧡 no but genuinely he is such a good main character. everything about him and his narration pulls you in to the story. he is the most unreliable narrator. his perspective is so skewed. also my namesake!!

Nakahara Chuuya (Anime/Series: Bungo Stray Dogs) i may or may not have somewhat of an obsession with him right now. he is literally so pretty that i throw my phone. but also he is so unbearably human in an incredibly tragic way, and he is that way because he actively chooses to be. he is a high ranking member of the mafia and he loves dogs and he promised his dying friend that he would save someone else and he is so loyal and bright. i am going to stop while im ahead bc 90% of my thoughts right now are about Chuuya so i could genuinely go on forever.

Victor Nikiforov (Anime: Yuri!!! ON Ice) he is so sad

Hinata Shoyo (Anime: Haikyuu!!) he is just so fucking BRIGHT!!! unlike Victor, Hinata is the exact opposite of me in almost every sense. it is so hard for me to watch anyone else when he's on the screen. he is just joy and energy incarnate and i want to be his friend so bad.

Spiderman (TV Show/Movie/Comic) this is a cheat because it's just. every iteration of spiderman. i love him. just your friendly neighborhood spiderman!! i have such a soft spot for Miles Morales' spiderman in particular due to the spiderverse movies, but i also really loved all of the live action spiderman movies. and we can't forget the tv show!!!

Prince Wilhelm (Show: Young Royals) fucking babygirl. yet another sad wet cat of a character who i project onto immensely. he is just so complex and interesting and so real and flawed and just. listen. having the weight of the world rest on your shoulders as you struggle with trying to make friends and fight your anxiety and handle your mother all by yourself is something i have dealt with too. i can't put into words all my thoughts about him right now, but rest assured there are More.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III (Book: How to Train Your Dragon series) don't get me wrong, i love the movie version of him as well, but they are such different characters. and the book version of Hiccup has an incredibly special place in my heart. httyd is such a comfort read for me, and it was huge for me getting to grow up with Hiccup. he is just a fucking little guy and he goes through so much. but he keeps going. he didn't deserve any of it and he fights so hard to make sure no one else has to go through it like he did. gods i love him.

Charlie Spring (Comic: Heartstopper) same as with Hiccup, i love him in the show as well but to me the characters are so different and i just relate so much more to the comic version of him! he is a mess and i love him and relate to him. i wish i had what he has. i am also so proud of how far he has come!! and he reminds me to be proud of myself, too. also see; sassy motherfucker.

Kenai (Movie: Brother Bear) a strange choice, maybe, but this movie means SO much to me. it is a huge comfort movie. and Kenai, by virtue of being the main character, clearly gets the leg up as the favorite. but it's so amazing seeing him grow as a person (or. well. bear). he's funny, he tries so hard, he wants so much. and he's just a kid!! he learns so much!!

there are definitely some patterns in my favorite characters that i am going to choose not to look too closely at :') i have so many characters i adore. this was so hard ;;;

Manga I’m currently reading that I’m really into:

GANGSTA

Rereading this right now.

We begin in the slums and mainly follow the story of two men who are tied together & bound by trauma. Polar opposites but full of equal amounts of deep love & hate for one another; they can’t live without each other. There are elements of PTSD that are explored very well in different ways; the trauma of physical abuse by a parent. The trauma of drug addiction. The trauma of being a prostitute & trying to find a way out. Even the trauma of how hard it is to learn to accept love & affection from others after being hurt. There are powers in this too; people called Twilights, who are shunned and seen as disgusting, wear dog tags with their power ranking on them so they can be recognized by the public. Mafia elements.

This series will always be in my heart; this was the series that got me into reading manga several years ago.

Favorite Character: Nic (olas Brown)

WITCH HAT ATELIER

A world of magic and beautiful art; a secret exposed by a young girl who may or not have been targeted as a child to perform forbidden magic. Complex characters and EXCELLENT world building. One of the more creative magic systems I’ve ever seen implemented. Very mysterious and a lot of things are not as they appear. Story seamlessly moves between light & dark storytelling methods. Not too far in this right now but I am very intrigued; it’s a story that benefits from taking your time and reading slowly.

Favorite Character: Olruggio

BLUE LOCK

A sports manga about football (soccer). Lots of hype moments with great characters that have big personalities. Only other sports manga besides Haikyuu I’ve ever been able to get into. The main difference is that Blue Lock highlights the ego and personal stats over teamwork and “the power of friendship”. Haven’t really seen a sports manga like this; where it’s encouraged to be selfish and make plays as an individual rather than as a team. Premise revolves around how Japan is looking for a team to lead them to victory (with a focus on predatory strikers, the position that attacks from the front lines and shoots) following the loss at the 2018 World Cup.

Favorite Character: Barou

GOLDEN KAMUY

Really took me by surprise at the blend of laugh-out-loud comedy, interesting premise and character driven story. Gold rush in the early 1900′s after the Russo-Japanese War. Our main character is trying to fulfill a promise he made to a long dead friend while trying to maintain his humanity as he bears the name that made him infamous in battle; Sugimoto the Immortal. Scars cover his entire body, evident of his will to survive. He is a very endearing character and the story really has an excellent flow. Villains feel dangerous and there’s a large cast of characters. The MC’s struggle to hold onto what makes him human while the circumstances around him force him to be anything but is fascinating to watch.

Favorite Character: Sugimoto / Asirpa / Ogata

Recommending fanfics (I): Complete Fanfics

I've been trying since yesterday to make an entry to recommend fanfics. In general I like to read fanfics x reader (or with the inclusion of reader) because I enjoy imagining that I am inside the story, however, you will see that there are some that I did not take them that way and even so I love them.

I hope you like it!

Part 1: Complete fanfics!

Énoument, by LadysDaze

(My hero academia) AO3

A fanfic about a girl whose gift is to travel through time... after a horrible death that is repeated over and over again.

As you can see, it wasn't a coincidence that I got hooked on TokRev, it was a matter of time, haha

However, despite the fact that the literary quality of this fanfic is unbeatable, what really sets it apart from the others is that it is written as an otome game. How do you hear it! It introduces us to the protagonist, her relationships with other characters, etc. in about fifteen introductory chapters and, from there, the author creates several possible paths for the romantic story that she wants to be born between her and the available boys (well, and girl!). So, as you can see, it's a very special reading in this world (at least I haven't found anything like it finished, at least), and that's why I recommend it.

Costumes and Romances, by Lisa_Lisa

(One Piece) AO3 and Wattpad

In this case, the story IS 100% ROMANTIC and focuses on a young woman with an impossible love for her boss who, in turn, falls in love with a man. A Cyrano-esque masochist, she helps him find true love while she develops, to her surprise, feelings for said boss's brother. A brother with dangerous businesses involved that, at times, colors this story with things more typical of a thriller... However, we also have tons of humor and a quite CANON vision of the One Piece characters within a simple work, but effective. And that's why I recommend it.

the eternal matinee (no more showings), by animepseud (multipurpose room)

This is one of the most recent fanfics I was able to read (because he was a bit plof in that sense) and, what a gem! The romance is present, sure, but not in a way that it could be in the previous work. What is important here is the evolution of both protagonists: on the one hand, Izuku Midoriya, who now that he is the number 1 hero sees that his life has been reduced to that, to be Deku, and cannot abandon his role under almost any circumstances, because people's expectations are at stake along with his own career. And on the other is the protagonist, a girl her age who hates heroes and is being harassed not only by some of them, but by a mysterious criminal who will reunite her with the male protagonist. The author is in charge of dedicating a chapter to each one so that we can see the perspective of both and how they treat their relationship until the end. A fanfic that hooks from the beginning and that, at least, I could not leave until I finished it. Highly recommended!

Sex is a learning, even for shitheads, by Bragi

This fanfic has always been one of my favorites and it couldn't be missing from the recommended list! And it is that we have the great Bakugo debating -as a good teenager- how to have relations for the first time with his girlfriend, a very nice and funny girl, who seems to be the only one capable of putting up with it, haha, and from there we will continue his discovery of sex and sexuality. An incredibly well-handled discovery, strangely realistic within its own context, and quite humorous, knowing how to get serious when it's convenient.

If you like series like Big Mouth, you definitely have to give it a try.

Echoes in the Darkness, by Marguaery

(Haikyuu!!) AO3

And finally within the complete fanfics, we have this marvel. A dark story full of gray characters within gangs and/or mafias that, as always, fight to be above others. Here the protagonist is a contract killer with a traumatic past and present from which she has given up trying to escape... At least until the young Tobio Kageyama crosses her life and things start to get even worse.

If you read "Echoes in the Darkness" rest assured that you will not find a story with fluff. There are activation warnings all over the place and if you're sensitive I really don't recommend it. But, yes, if you go inside, it is rare that you can forget it! Because it's worth every fucking second of your time. And the less you know why, the better it will taste once you finish it.

This was supposedly to be for Halloween and Thanksgiving but I scrapped that idea. It’s now Mafia World, meaning that the characters I write for are all gonna be based on mafia au. Remember this is fiction and not to romanticize gangs or mafias in real life, those in real life are completely different from what it is online. Check warnings for each fic before reading!
